Thirteen ten Wiba and Ask the Experts, joined this morning by a mere con
sales manager with next Door and Window. Ameir, how you doing this morning?
I'm doing well, Sean. Howare you today? I'm doing really
good. It's great to finally talkwith you. You and I have been
kind of talking behind the scenes forthe last last week or so and really
exciting stuff to talk about with nextDoor and Window before we got to get

(00:25):
into you know, things like consultationsand you know, some of the great
experiences you've had educating homeowners. Let'sjust really quickly talk about next Door and
Window, a little bit about alittle bit about the company, and of
course a little bit about you aswell, Amere. Yeah, thank you,
Sean. We're a family owned business. We've been servicing Chicago Land for
over twenty one years. One ofthe things that we pride ourselves on is

(00:49):
customer service. We have made surethat we are very customer focused and we
install very good quality windows and doors, and we provide service is for clients
here in Chicagoland. We pride ourselvesalso on the fact that we have our
own customer service department that serves younot only for one or two year labor

(01:11):
warranty periods, but much longer thanthat, almost as long as you live
in the home. I have beenwith NEXT eight plus years, and we
promote from within, We train, teach, learn, It's all about the
people that makes the business. SoI have been in this window and door
industry for twelve plus years, butwith NEXT, and I found that the

(01:38):
ethics of the organization, the waywe operate our business, how we conduct
ourselves, has set us apart frommany other organizations that I have seen and
personally worked for in this industry. It's really neat to hear. And you
know, you and I were talkingbefore we came on the air this morning
just about your experience, and youmentioned, of course promotions and opportunities within

(02:02):
and having that family atmosphere is sucha big thing. And for folks who
don't know you guys are of coursenext door and Window a lot of folks
may be familiar with if you've everlistened or traveled through the Chicago area,
been familiar seeing your signs, heardsome maybe seen a commercial or two.
You guys are in Madison now, aren't you, amir? Yes exactly,

(02:22):
So, we obviously worked tirelessly tocreate a certain business here and a reputation,
and one of our valued partners inour project here is Marvin Windows and
Doors and Marvin Infinity Windows and Doorsspecifically, and they saw the way we
were bringing this quality product and serviceto our clients here in Chicago, and

(02:49):
they realized that people in Madison alsodeserve the same level of customer service,
same level of project that we havebeen successfully doing it here, so the
us to bring our services to theMadison market, and a couple of years
ago, that's exactly what we did. We don't We're a humble company.

(03:09):
We don't make a big show off, uh you know, grandeur or anything.
All we do is come into yourhomes and I'll offer you the exact
same quality of products and services thathas been tried and tested and proven to
be successful in homeowners' homes here inChicagoland. Fantastic talking this morning with a

(03:30):
mere Economyre comes to us from nextDoor and Window that a website, next
door and Window dot com. That'snext door a n D window dot Com
tell phone number right here in Madisonsix oh eight three zero two thirty six
thirty two thirty six thirty. I'mgonna have to edit that part out same
number here in Madison six oh eightthree zero two thirty six thirty six.

(03:53):
That's three zero two thirty six thirtysix. Let's talk a little bit about
the approach and one of the thingsthat the impressed me. Obviously we'll get
into the we'll get into those Marvinfiberglass windows and what makes them so so
fantastic, But one of the thingsthat really impresses me is that human interaction
is the approach that you take atnext door and window. It's really a

(04:14):
consultation for homeowners. Isn't it amirror? Absolutely? Sean so uh.
You know, there's a big stigmaaround in home projects and in home sales
right over the years, there's alot of experts who have come up with
different models to go to a client'shome and do a sale off a project.

(04:34):
And what we realized we kind ofstepped back and we looked at it
from a consumer standpoint. I mean, I'm a homeowner, I'm a consumer
myself, and if I have aproblem in my home, I would expect
an expert to come in and solvemy problem, but not necessarily pushed me

(04:54):
to make a decision and whatnot. So over the years, this is this
is one one of our main objectiveswas to change the way we approach a
window and door replacement project in aclient's home. So we've made it simple
really, you know, forget theten steps, seven steps, closing tools,

(05:15):
closing methods. We don't do anyof that. Our philosophy is we
go to a client's home. Wefound find out what their problems are.
We inspect their problems, and Iwould like to elaborate that step for just
a little bit. In order toactually be able to identify exactly what the
problems are and how to alleviate them, we need to do a lot of

(05:38):
training. So in our organization weare absolutely learning focused. Every one of
our experts that go to your homego through extensive training on construction, windows,
materials, product, not sales training. This is more knowledge, actual

(05:58):
knowledge of homes, actual knowledge ofenergy efficiency ratings and et cetera, et
cetera. So once we have identifiedthe problems, we suggest we plan solutions
for the homeowners. We suggest andpresent our solutions and if that solution makes
sense for the homeowner, we wouldlove to work for them. It's pretty

(06:19):
love to do this project for them. That's our philosophy. It's pretty amazing
to amir as we're talking about ofthe mir kan of next Door and Window,
the website Nextdoor and Window dot com. That's next Door a n D
Window dot Com. There's tell fora number right here in Madison, six
oh eight three zero two thirty sixthirty six. That's six oh eight three
zero two thirty six thirty six fornext Door and windows and UH and window

(06:43):
and UH and a mirror. Oneof the things that I find amazing as
you were just kind of talking tome about you being a homeowner as well,
I'm also a homeowner. I thinkfor a lot of us. You
know, when we buy our home, whether we're the first owner or we've
were a long list of previous ownersof that home, it never comes with
like a like a like there's alittle bit of information about it, but
there's not a ton of information ona home. Every home is special.

(07:04):
Every home is unique. It's gotits unique story, it's unique. Past
that consultation and having that conversation andjust presenting to the homeowners what your assessment
and what those needs are. That'sso reassuring to hear that type of philosophy.
And that type of approach absolutely right. I mean when it comes to
if you you know, look atarchitecture and the construction and the history of

(07:29):
homes during throughout different eras homes werebuilt ever so slightly differently, right,
and then different areas of different citiesand towns have different types of homes,
you know, masonry homes, cinderblock homes, framed houses, some of
them have different types of window solutionsand door solutions. And understanding all those

(07:53):
different intricacies, there is not thereis no one approach and one method to
all of it. Right, thevery common thing that happens to homeowners myself
included. Right, I'm a window, door and construction specialist. Except I'll
give you a perfect example. Mywater heater goes out. Right, I'm
not a water heater specialist. Ihaven't done the research. I have not

(08:16):
done trained myself to know everything aboutwater heaters and how the plumbing needs to
be, where the pipes need tobe, what are the tolerance is required?
I don't know that. So I'mhoping when I call a company for
a water heater, he comes inand she comes in, they're able to
give me that expert knowledge and that'sexactly what we do here. It's not

(08:37):
all the same solution for it's notone size fits all situation. It is
always customized, it is always curtailedto your home. And what we will
do for you is we will teachyou. We will quite literally educate you
on what you're looking at, whatthe issues are, and here are the

(09:00):
recommended proper solutions to your issues. That is a really really for a homeowner.
You get you get that learning experience, that opportunity to actually sit down
with an expert, sit down withthe pro That's one of the fantastic things
about working with a Mirror and theteam at next Door and Window, the
website next door and Window dot com. Tell for number six oh eight three

(09:20):
zero two thirty six thirty six. That's six oh eight three zero two thirty
six thirty six. You mentioned earlierMarvin Infinity windows and doors. Let's talk
about those Marvin fiberglass windows and doorsand what makes them so special compared to
some of the other products that areavailable out there. Fantastic course, thank
you Sean for that opportunity. Whenit comes to windows and doors, effectively,

(09:43):
there are five different types of materialsthat were made with one of them
is commercial grade made out of aluminum, and aluminum is not a very good
material for residential windows and doors becauseit's a very highly conductive material and in
areas like Chicago, Madison and stuff, we get very low temperatures in the
cold months. So regardless of that, then you have wood windows. Right.

(10:05):
Woodwindows have been around for over onehundred years. Really, except wood
windows do require a tremendous amount ofmaintenance. Now, don't get me wrong.
If you maintain wood windows by keepingthem stained and painted and protected from
the elements, you could make itlast thirty forty years, but it does

(10:26):
require a tremendous amount of time commitmentto that. On the other end of
the spectrum, in the late seventiesor so, vinyl windows were invented.
Vinyl windows were supposed to be thatalternative to wood windows. There would be
a material that would work without maintenance. That's all there is to it.
But the idea behind the vinyl,as we have found out over the years,

(10:48):
is the plastic based product does nothave physical longevity. While the material
will last a long time as awindow unit, the material expands in contracts
so much to temperature changes that youlose operational longevity of the window. Gaps

(11:09):
started opening up and the whole materialand the whole window gets warped with age
as early as seven eight years nowadays, unfortunately, and this is all data
that is available on reviews on theweb. So there are some companies that
have tried some composite solutions to thisto make it less malleable, less more

(11:31):
stable, more stronger. Marvin, you know again, one hundred plus year
old company, when they were tryingto come up with an alternative to their
legendary high quality wood window like theSignature series, they did not want to
go to a material that would notwork for the whole country. This was
the key that was one of theirdirectives that we want to make an alternative

(11:54):
window that is as good as ourtop of the line heavy duty wood window,
not a cheaper alternative. See,when it comes to developing anything,
it's very critical to understand what isthe objective. Are you just trying to
sell more windows or are you actuallytrying to come up with something that is
just as good as the other onebut solves the other purpose of being maintenance

(12:22):
free as well. So fiberglass asa material is completely Thermo set. It
is eight times stronger than its vinylcounterpart. And when I say stronger,
I'm only talking about flexual strength,as in flexing. Windows and doors do
not necessarily require a lot of impactstrength. People are not going to hammer

(12:43):
your door frame. If they wantto break in, they're going to break
the glass. It's all about thestructural integrity of the window. If it
stays nice and square and true fora longer period of time, that's when
you will enjoy a good operating windowfor a longer period of time. That's

(13:05):
all there is to it. Fixingwindows and replacing windows more than once in
the in a homeowner's ownership cycle isjust a waste of money. Those are
These are structural replacements and repairs thatyou should not necessarily have to do more
than once in your ownership cycle ofa home. That's what Marvin Infinity provides,

(13:28):
a window that is engineered and designedto last quite literally decades because the
material is so strong. Now alot of people say it's going to last
forty years, fifty years. Well, we at next own window always like
to speak in facts. This Marvin'sfiberglass was introduced in nineteen ninety five,

(13:52):
the Marvin Infinity product was introduced intwo thousand and one, and to date
we have millions of units on afield installed and we are not seeing catastrophic
failures of this unit. That isamazing. And you talk about this is
so that's twenty three years wow.And you talk about being a homeowner,
and you know, you think aboutwindows. You mentioned, you know what

(14:13):
it was great at a time,it was fantastic, but a ton of
work. Having windows that are gonnalast, They're gonna look beautiful, not
gonna require maintenance or any work fromyou. And again eight times stronger than
Vinyl. Marvin fiberglass windows of courseinstalled by next Door and Window. Today
is the day if you've got questions. Maybe you've got questions about how your
