Matthew Handley and Dr. Marcus Peter discuss Catholic Patriotism

There is a movement in some traditionalist circles that claims one cannot be a faithful Catholic and a patriotic American. There are various reasons for this, including the fact that America is a flawed country and was not necessarily founded on Catholic ideals. However, such a notion is can be contrary to the Church’s teaching on participating in civic life. Matthew Handley joined Dr. Marcus Peter on Ave Maria in the Afternoon to disucss the fact that patriotism is not blind loyalty but a form of Christian love.
