Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Purple People leader. Justin extrom is bringing us Purple
Positivity brought to you by Seventh Avenue Pizza before pizza
became trendy. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. I'm just next
from this is Purple Positivity brought to you by Seventh
(00:20):
Avenue Pizza, Back and betterish than ever. Vikings win yet again.
Was it easy? Nope? Was it hair raising? Yep? I'm
just telling you, like everything was going to what I
thought was gonna be the plan, what I thought was
happening when I thought they were gonna put the game
away like I just if you remember from last week,
(00:43):
I said, hey, I don't like these games at Soldier
Field or Tampac Stadium or whatever they call it now.
But I also thought it was gonna be a fairly easy,
methodic win that would be closer than what it should have. Well,
this one was like, for all intents and purposes, was
(01:04):
not a game. It wasn't a game. And I do
not understand our red zone issues. Aaron Jones man like
two yard line fumble that hurt, but we're still ahead
quite a bit. You know, if you look at it
with forty five seconds left, there was a ninety nine
(01:25):
point five percent chance the Vikings were gonna win that game. Hey,
they won the game, so I mean the stats were wrong.
Just it took a coin flip loss in the overtime
and it took a really big deep shot to uh
the Vikes to pull that one out. But hey, a
(01:46):
win is a win. Is a win is a win? Ugly? Yep? Effective?
Also yep, just fine. Nine and two. Here we go,
bitches like, this is the type of the this is
the time and the schedule where you just you gotta
figure out who you are, what type of team are you?
Are you a team like two years ago where you're
(02:06):
just false hopes where you're gonna go into the first
round and just chances are you're not winning the division, right,
so you're gonna end up having to go on the road.
You might this next week might be a preview of
who you go face on the road. The Cardinals that
(02:27):
NFC West. They beat the crap out of each other
every year. But it seems like the Super Bowl is
gonna be decided between an NFC West and an FC North.
Who comes out of the NFC North and who comes
out of the NFC West. I know what people are like, hey,
what do you think about the Eagles? The Eagles are
(02:48):
doing great, that kind of thing. I just don't believe
in their offensive line right now. I believe in Sequon Barkley,
and I mean eventually he's got to get found out,
like he got to be able to bully that offensive line.
I think somebody might. It's just, you know, it looks
like they're running away with the East. Washington's still kind
(03:09):
of there, but still NFC North, NFC West. I think
they are both top to bottom, very strong. It's just
the NFC West right now. Do you really think the
forty nine ers are good or bad? Without rock Perty?
They looked awful, absolutely awful. With a quote unquote game
manager on a bench, they look terrible and that's not
(03:35):
gonna be great. Do you think the NFC South you
think there's a team from the NFC South that could
be representing the Super Bowl. I don't think so. I
say it's either the Eagles or the North or the West.
So here's here could be a preview. I don't think
the Falcons with our friend Kirk Cousins, I don't think
they're Super Bowl entrant material. It's just I will find
(03:58):
out in a couple of weeks when when the Vikes
face Kirk Cousins and the Falcons, which that is going
to be a fantastic game. But here's this week against
a different type of bird, Cardinal, beautiful Cardinals. You know,
my grandma Jen she said that she was gonna come
back as a Cardinal. Maybe she did. I don't know. Whatever.
(04:19):
You believe in great, but I just hope these Cardinals
get taken to the woodshed by the Vikes. I want
to see a methodic victory just once. Right now. They're
three and a half point favorite at home. The Vikes are.
How confident you feel in that you just barely squeaked
out and overtime went against the Bears. The Cardinals are
(04:40):
a team. Where are they good? I don't know, man,
I honestly don't know. Does James Connor scare anybody? Not much?
I tell you who. Does Trey McBride that tight end
over there, he really scares me. And Murray Kyler Murray
the way he can run. We've seen this Vikings defense
(05:01):
have issues, Like if you don't have somebody spying on
a quarterback that can run, they can just kind of
take off and look at that wide open, wide open
touchdown from the Bears Caleb Williams. I mean, three guys
decided to just forget that Keithan Allen existed. So you
can't do that. And is that a breakdown off coverage? Yes,
(05:23):
but you were covering for a long time and the
quarterback scrambling. That's what Kyler Murray does. He's also three
and a half feet shorter than Caleb Williams, but still yeah,
he's still a guy that can run and he's somewhat
a gamer. So getting down to it, I think this game,
you got to establish the run. You have to. You
(05:46):
have to have to have to. I know Aaron Jones
had one hundred some yards, but I think you just
have to play bullyball. You have to find something out.
You have to figure out which guys you know, which
blocking scheme works against this front of the Cardinals, and
then just bully them up. Just beat the living tar
out of them for four quarters. Give me, give me
(06:08):
like a win that's like twenty one to ten or
something like that, where you just methodic. That would be fantastic.
Do I think it's gonna be twenty one to ten? No,
I'm almost going towards. I think the Cardinals might win
this game. But so let's break this down just a
little bit. No offensive line needs to find what their
(06:30):
type of scheme, like, they need to gel. They have
a couple of games now where they have had to
try to figure things out. They give up sacks and
like the weirdest times, they give up pressures in the
weirdest times. Is that Donald being kind of happy feet
and holding onto the ball Maybe a little bit, but
there are times where there's immediate pressure in the backfield
and he has to just kind of throw the ball
(06:51):
up to nothing and there's nobody around there. There's gotta
be something. I don't know if you have to use CJ.
Hamm a little bit more now that Oliver is out.
That CJ. Hamm took a considerable amount more snaps just
because Oliver was out. I think Oliver is really big
in like the red zone for us, and they're just
that added blocker and then he pass catching. He's a
(07:13):
lot better than what I thought he was gonna be
when we got him. I think this defense can put
up fits like we saw Arizona against Seattle just not good.
That game was terrible. They have the two field goals.
Whatever it was, I'm not sure. It just wasn't It
(07:33):
wasn't great. And I think the Vikings just now that
this game is home, you finally for the first time
ever or in a long time, three straight road victories.
Come on, man, give it up for him, like you
can say, oh man, helter skelter, they fucking won, they did.
(07:55):
They cover the spread and every single one. No, well,
this one right here, I think Brian Flores figures it out.
Maybe they can bully Marvin Harrison Junior just a little bit.
I am scared with Trey McBride, those underneath incutting routes
still beating the Vikings up at extra pass catcher. I think.
(08:16):
I think the Vikes gotta play manly football, like they
gotta man the f up this time, run it down
their throats and then take the big shots. We haven't
seen that quite yet. We haven't had where they just run, run, run, run,
and then you know, an eight play drive, nine play
drive where they just salt the game away. We have
(08:36):
not seen that. I would love to see a little
bit of bullyball. We're a little more of a finessing
type of defense because it's a schematic type defense. I've
said this. I've been doing this for seven eight years
now in this podcast thing. I say it all the time,
like you can work around a finessing defense like a scheme,
like you can scheme against the scheming defense. So Ryan
(08:59):
Flores picks and use his spots. Lately he's been getting
burned just a little bit because the pressure doesn't get home.
Van Geegle should have had two more extra sacks. He's
having a Pro Bowl season, if not considerations for All
Pro season, and I think I think Flores will have
(09:20):
Kyler Murray kind of schemed out a little bit. They're
gonna play there, They're gonna blitz them, they're gonnaut him
under pressure, but there's gonna be certain times where they
confuse him and he's gonna throw in a double coverage
because that's what Kyler Murray does. So I think the
Vikes win this one, finally a home game. I just
I think it's gonna be give me, man, I didn't
(09:43):
even see what the over under was. Give me twenty
four to twenty. To be honest with you, it's gonna
be another one score game, twenty four to twenty. They
could be up twenty four to seventeen or like twenty
four fourteen later in the game, and they're looking assaulted
away and they don't kind of like this last week.
But I think a big key is Aaron Jones in
(10:04):
his health. Who else can we get to catch the
ball out of the backfield other than Aaron Jones? Like,
if we could find somebody to line up in the
backfield and then spread that defense out a little bit,
I think they should run away with this. I don't
think the Cardinals are as good as the record suggests,
but maybe the Vikings aren't either. So give me. I'm
(10:25):
officially going twenty four to twenty Vikes. That means they
do cover the spread, which also scares the living tarnation
out of me, living daylights out of me, But yeah,
I think that that's what I'm going. Again. He hung
around a little bit, but Vikes win twenty four to twenty.
Give me a touchdown on JJ. Finally, give me another,
(10:45):
Give me a touchdown on Justin Jefferson. This is the
game where I think the Cardinals are going to try
to key on Hockinson a little bit. They don't want
that soft coverage to get beat up. And I think
justin Jefferson goes off, give me a tuddy for sure,
one tuddy and one hundred and fifty yards out of
JJ and Addison might be a little more dormant, but
(11:06):
Hockinson's gonna get his eighty and a touchdown as well.
So there we go. Thanks spect. I always want to
say special Avenue Pizza. I'm not sure why, thanks to
Seventh Avenue Pizza. Make sure this weekend, after you're done
with the Thanksgiving you go and get yourself some Seventh
Avenue pizza to cook on Friday and Saturday and Sunday.
That shit is good and it's supporting a great they're
(11:31):
it's supporting great people, great family. I love the people there.
I love beer Billy sports as well. Support them. Those
guys are fucking funny guys. They are so funny. Matt Jeffrey,
good dude, all those guys, Bruce. I don't know the
rest of them. I just talked to them every once
in a while, but they're fantastic. So go get yourself
(11:52):
some Seventh Avenue pizza. And I hope somewhere somewhere in
some universe, there is a a Davenport, Yes, a Davenport
that looks like straight out of the fifties and sixties.
There's people sitting on that davenport that's heavier than anybody
can possibly think, and they're watching a wooden TV. Because
(12:16):
to me, that's what Thanksgiving is, sitting at my grandma
and Grandpa's place, eating more food than any human being
ever should, and sitting on this davenport that has more
dust mites than you can count on ten hands, and
watching a TV that is made of wood. I hope
somewhere in some universe that's happening. And watch the Lions,
(12:42):
watch the other games on Thanksgiving, watch the Friday game,
and then of course watch the Viking Sunday game because
I think they win. And I want to wish everyone
a happy Thanksgiving. I want to wish my mom a
happy birthday on Thanksgiving Day. I want to wish my
sister she had her birthday on Saturday or a Sunday
on the twenty fourth, Happy birthday to all them. Love you, guys,
(13:03):
love everyone that listens into this. Both of you. I
love both of you, And as usual, skull bitches
