Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is now a time for Minnesota Golden Gophers after dark
with the Minnesota sports governor Vince Right. Hey, what's up everybody?
Vince Right to sports governor here on Beer Billy Sports
with right on the edge Gophers after dark and it
is definitely after dark. We are currently sitting at one

(00:21):
seventeen to a m. Sunday morning after a Gopher just
a very disappointing loss here twenty seven to fourteen cal
Golden Bears. And let me tell you something. First off,
let me say this about California. Obviously very talented quarterback
and he did a very good job. Jks says, he's

(00:45):
known Jern two hundred and seventy nine yards, three touchdowns, scrambling,
you know, was able to It's ten plays really help
his team out. California. You know, they may be able
to do some things day. Ironically, play in the ACC Conference,
so they have a few cross country trips to deal

(01:06):
without the Boston College and whatnot. But they don't have
to play Clemson, they don't have to play Miami, and
that really helps them out and they may be able
to do something here. You know, if they can be
Louisville b C. Some teams like that, who knows what
California can do this year, and they go three and
zero at home. The thing about Minnesota is just just

(01:32):
kind of a complete mess. You know, was the proverbial
one step forward, two steps back tonight? You know, Drake
Lindsey made some good thrills, you know, drives seem to
be going and then stall out, miss field goals going
wide right, and then a couple bad interceptions or excuse me,
one bad interception, and just some questionable play calling with

(01:55):
the trick plays tonight. I don't know, just everything seemed
to be just really out of sync, you know, just
kind of like you're in the bizarro universe. Just like
I said, you know, this works a couple of times,
then all of a sudden, the bad play and Gophers
are literally shooting themselves in the foot. And it really
sucked because this game was really there to be had tonight.

(02:18):
No disrespect to California, but I thought, you know, there's
just the opportunities there in Minnesota. Blew ad so Mecky
Brockington one of the few bright spots eight receptions, one
hundred and six yards. Javon Tracy had thirty four yards.
Jamison Gears caught a touchdown, but again just you know,

(02:38):
really kind of hard. It's almost like a whack a
mo on what's wrong with the Gophers tonight? You know,
you go over here and then something pops up over here.
Oh it's the offense all the and ounce the defense
now you know, defensive backfield giving up plays. It was
just kind of a mess all the way around, and
a lot of stuff that PJ. Fleck is going to

(02:58):
have to get his squad and his team in tune
because Rutgers coming in in a couple weeks and you
definitely don't want to wind up going too and two.
And just when you thought Minnesota was going to go
in like last year and beat Rutgers, we saw what
happened Revenge of Eighth and Calake Manus and this year
no different. This game is not a easy game for

(03:22):
Minnesota at all. Here step up in talent for the
Golden go first tonight, and I think we saw obviously
that that was definitely the case with California, and like
I said, they just really have to sit down and
figure out a more cohesive game plan. I understand having
trick plays in your back pocket, but the execution tonight

(03:44):
just was not there by Minnesota at all. And you know,
one of the things that we talk about here when
you know, when you're a team like Minnesota, you can't
make mistakes, you can't make really stupid mistakes. You know
there's gonna be turnovers here and there at times. But man,
like I said, it was just the Gophers all over
the place. Kind of a schizophrenia football tonight, unfortunately for

(04:09):
the Minnesota Golden Gophers. So folks, I am vinced right
the sports governor, this is Gophers after dark, And like
I said, they got a lot to figure out here
before this next game in a couple of weeks. So
thank you for tuning in to us here on Beer
Belly Sports, the best sports network in Minnesota. Peace

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
