Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is now a time for Minnesota Golden Gophers after Dark
with the Minnesota Sports Governor. Vince Right. What's going on, everybody,
Vince Right, the sports governor. This is right on the
edge Gophers after Dark, the all encompassing Gopher podcasts. So

(00:20):
let's just get right to it. Man. And by the way,
we are on the Beer Belly Sports Network. Dare I
say the Minnesota Gophers are a passing team? Well maybe
they are. Drake Lindsay, ladies. And it was all it
was the Drake Lindsay Show yesterday, and it was actually
very good to see because you know, Rutgers was up

(00:44):
twenty one fourteen at the half. There were a point
where they were up fourteen to nothing, and it was
very very quiet in the stadium. And we're Gopher fans.
Let's just be honest. You know, you start getting that
fear and dread and oh, here we go again. Athan
Kellycmannus is exacting revenge in your number two on us

(01:04):
and all this stuff. But Drake Lindsay, folks, Drake Lindsey, man,
that kid can throw a football thirty one of forty one,
three hundred and twenty four yards, three touchdowns and honestly,
because the Gophers had no rushing game yesterday, not one.
And we'll talk about the offensive line here in a minute,

(01:25):
but you know when he hit the big bomb to
Jalen Smith and started spreading the rock around a little
bit to Javon Tracy, Lemachy Breckington, and by the way,
all three of those gentlemen had touchdowns, had the three
touchdowns yesterday. But the Gopher quarterback MVP yesterday, and I'm

(01:46):
gonna tell you something, the kid throws a very nice
looking ball. Uh just some darts, some some nice lofted
passes that you know, just that's where the ball needed
to be thrown. He made those throws and it was
just refreshing to see because the Gophers for years, you know,
we've talked about the rushing game, and yeah, we've had

(02:07):
passing games here obviously, especially twenty nineteen. But this was
refreshing to see because if you know, if we didn't
have the passing game going yesterday, the Gophers lose that
game easily. And you know, speaking of it, the offensive line,
they seem to pass block very well for the most part,

(02:28):
but they cannot run block to save their lives. And
you know, really that showed up yesterday. Then that was
really disappointing to see just again no rushing game, no blocking,
just nothing to really get it going. And again Drake
Lindsay comes in to save the day. And I mean

(02:51):
that's really the summary of the game. Coy Perrich had
a couple of nice runs returning the kicks, but you know,
go for defense showing up. And let me say this
too about the Gopher defense, because yesterday they really started
to get some pressure on eight and Kelly ac Manus

(03:13):
as well, so and that really helps them the tide
because once they started sacking him, once they started getting
pressure on him, you know, kind of getting their run
game and check on the defensive side. It was really
really just it was good to see a good, workmanlike
win for the Minnesota Golden Gophers yesterday, folks. And if

(03:34):
you're a Gopher fan, take this win. You know, don't
really sit there and dissect it too much. You know, Oh,
it's Rutgers and this, this and that. We don't know
what we got with this team. Yet. We got a
lot of new faces that are getting looks here playing
major college ball for the first time. Really, I mean,

(03:54):
in terms of getting major minutes. So that's why I
was very impressed with this win because obviously next week
number one Ohio State in Columbus, very interested to see
you know, are we are we looking for the upset?
Of course we well, sure will we take the upset,
of course, but I'm just looking for progression. I'm very
interested to see what they can do against the number

(04:16):
one team in the country next week, see if they
can get any sustained drives, put points on the board,
and just go from there. So but in terms of
yesterday's game, thirty one twenty eight Minnesota over Rutgers. Take
the win, it was a good win. They stuck with
it because honestly, Gophers teams from the past probably might

(04:37):
have rolled up and taken the y l with that
one early on, because early on, like I said, when
it was fourteen to notnthing, peeps, you it was very
quiet in Huntington bayk Stadium. So congratulations to our Gophers.
Roll the boat sky you mill that good stuff. We'll
be right back with you next time next week. Actually,

(04:58):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
