Speaker 1 (00:02):
You're listening to Beyond the Cheaters, the Detective Gomez Files
and now here is Detective Gomez.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Welcome to another episode of Yanchi is a Detective Gomez Files.
I am your host, Detective Gomez. The first thing I
want to say is happy new You're happy twenty and
twenty five. You know, I'm recording this today on the
second day of January, and I've noticed a lot of
new trends that are coming out for dating and something
(00:32):
I want to discuss because I think it's very, very
important that if you meet somebody online and somebody in
a bar, it's important to do a little homework now
before you actually go on start spending time with them,
giving yourself to them, giving your time to them, giving
your love, your kisses, and everything else. So it's important
to know a little bit about who you're dealing with
and make sure they are who they say they are.
(00:54):
Some people aren't. Okay, So let's get it right into this.
We're going to go on. Is the top five dating
trends for twenty twenty five. Okay, So to get into
the first one, background checks before dates. You know it
says here with safety concerns on the rise, daters are
turning into background check services or social media's deep dives
(01:18):
for verifying to verify potential matches. This trend ensures peace
of mind and produces the risk of catfishing or scams. Okay,
so you meet somebody online, just want to make sure
they are really say they are. They might have a
criminal history, you'll find that out later on. But mot
of times, you know, people have names they go by.
You know, they call me turtle, they call me DJ this,
(01:39):
or you know her name is that, and you know
they have like one name, like McDonald's's got one name.
It's not a real name, but you know, so you
got to think about you want to find out who
these people are before you start going out to meet
them somewhere. You know, you hope there's there's no things
sinister are happening, but you never know. You've got to
(01:59):
make sure these days there were different than a different
type of society. Now you have to verify people you're
dealing with, business, child, soccer coach, you know, whatever it
may be, do do do a little homework. You know,
Number two video vetting before meeting in person. Okay, virtual
(02:21):
predates via video calls or becoming standard. This allows the
people to gauge chemistry and established trust before meeting face
to face, enhancing emotional safety and minimizing unnecessary risk. Okay,
so you meet them in person, you know through the video.
You know, everybody's got the FaceTime thing now, so you
(02:42):
can you can FaceTime them and make sure they are
who they say they are. It's okay. No, I've had
a I'm on a couple of size myself as a
different person, and sometimes I see people going, like to
FaceTime with you before before I actually go out and
meet with you. Hey, I've got no problem with that.
That's okay. Number three shared location and safe words. So
it's more singles are sharing their live location with friends
(03:04):
and family during dates. Some even set up safe words
or checking times to ensure that they feel safe throughout
the date. Okay, so you're letting your family know I'm
gonna be here, here's my location. If I say this
or say that, that means something trouble. If I say this
or that, I'm okay, you know, just different words that
they can You can interact with somebody to make sure
you're okay and make sure you're safe. You know you
(03:28):
it's sad that you hear so many sad stories of
tragic endings when people don't do things like this, and
then their families are like, hey, I haven't checked in
with my sister. I know she went out there with
this guy, but I don't know where she's at. Or
my brother. Let the strong line, I don't know where
he's at. I want, I need you to know. It's
important to know these things. Number four sober or low
(03:49):
key first dates, alcohol free or activity based for the
days like high King coffee. Public events are becoming more popular,
allowing clear judgment and say for environments getting to know
each other. Okay, so it's not about buying shots and
all that kind of stuff anymore. It's more about doing
(04:11):
something where you feel safe and having fun, you know,
having a cup of coffee, not out, Hey me, meet
the bar, I buy your shot and then try to
get you drunk, all that kind of stuff. I ain't
cutting it anymore. And if somebody wants to do that
with you, I stay away because it's just not gonna
end up. Well, you may get drunk and they put
(04:33):
something and drink. You just don't know. These days's just
such madness going on right now. Or five trauma informed
dating and I want to dig into this. Liveit. This
means be aware that people may have an emotional past
or wounds or difficult experiences, and approaching relationship with kindness, patience,
(04:54):
and respect for their boundaries. So it's about you know,
they might have something bad have to them, happened to
them with maybe child custody, or their boyfriend or their girlfriend.
Listen to them, but they keep talking too much, you
gotta cut off, but says, so listen to them without judgment,
recognizing triggers or sensitive topics, Communicating openly and honestly. This
(05:15):
helps create a safe space where both people feel comfortable,
value and understood. So these are five friends for twenty twenty,
dating trans for two thousand. I think about these things.
Everybody's got to past, everybody's I mean, I've seen people. Man,
she's the perfect girl, perfect body, and then there's something
(05:37):
that happened in her past inside that she's not sharing
with you. Maybe she likes you a lot, she wants
to share with you, share with you, and don't judge
her on it, whatever it may be. Listen to them now,
I'll be honest with you. If they harp on it
too much. And you guys say, I've listened to you.
Let's get past that and let's focus on us. Do that.
So think about these things. It's not very easy to
(06:01):
do sometimes, so I am gonna say them one more time.
First one, background checks before first dates, you know, so
you should to find out somebody say, call me, I'll
trace their phone number for you to make sure they
are who they say they are. Okay. Number two video
vetting before meeting in person. Okay, remember that. Number three
(06:21):
share location and safe words. Number four sober or low
key first dates, and number five trauma inform dating. So
there you have it. Thank you for tuning in. Remember
dating in twenty twenty five was all about creating safe,
meaningful connections, whether it's taking things slow, you know, watch
(06:42):
out for your well being or setting healthy boundaries, trust
your instincts, and of course stay true to yourself. If this,
if you found this helpful, share with someone whom I
need to hear it. Until next time, stay safe, stay open,
and happy dating. I'm detected Gomez, and remember keep listening
