explained to people in the past, I am a working man,
I'm a family man, and sometimes it is very rare.
I can't get that episode out there as I would
have liked to have done, and that's been the situation
for me currently. So William Guy Carr's Pones in the

Game presents a sweeping narrative of history, attributing world wars, revolutions,
and social upheaval to a hidden cup all of elites
and secret societies which are manipulated by Satan and cause.
Central idea is that humanity is being used as pawns
in a grand chess match, with forces of evil directing

events behind the scenes. Now, from a reformed evangelical Biblical perspective,
there are both points of resonance and some of serious concern.
So resonance with scripture is that the Bible affirms the
reality of a spiritual war. Obviously Ephesian six verses twelve

or we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities and against powers, etc. And Car's emphasis on unseen
forces shaping history rightly points to the reality that Satan
works through human structures of power, and history does bear
witness to man's sinful ambition, greed and rebellion against God,

which align with Car's depiction of corruption among rulers. Now,
there are a few points of concern there is some
sort of speculation and conspiracy thinking. Now, obviously we know
conspiracies are real, but these are little points of just
some concern. So CAR often moves beyond scripture and weaving

complex conspiracies with very little verifiable evidence. The Reform tradition
emphasizes solo scriptury, so obviously the scriptures alone, and we
must be careful not to let extra biblical theories become
the lens in which we read God's providence. So we

must view everything through scripture first. And there's a sort
of over emphasis on human agents of evil, and this
can become a common thread actually, particularly with non Christians,
of say, in the Truth of Community, this over emphasis
on human agents. So while Car highlights elites, bankers, and

secret societies, scripture makes it clear that the ultimate problem
is sin in every human heart, and evil is not
just out there among shadowy groups, but in here within
all of us. And there is some undermining of God's sovereignty.
So Car's narrative sometimes suggests history is dictated by Satan's

schemes rather than God's sovereign hand. Yet in Reformed theology,
it insists that our God is in the heavens and
he does all that he pleases, and Daniel says that
you do your will amongst the armies of heaven and
the inhabitants of the earth, and none can stay thy

hand or say what doest thou. So Satan operates only
under God's permission, and even evil rulers are instruments in
God's larger redemptive plan. So the believer's hope he is
not in uncovering conspiracies, but in trust in Christ, who
has already designed the rulers and authorities. And rather than

fearing hidden plots, Christians are called to faithfulness, prayer, proclamation
of the Gospel, and confident rest in God's providence. Now
corresponds in the game reflects genuine concerns about evil in
the world, but it does veer sometimes into speculative conspiracy
that risks distract him from central biblical message, the universality

of sin, sovereignty of God, and the sufficiency of Christ.
So as Christians, we should discern the spiritual reality's car highlights,

Braille Library for the Blind. Carr's most widely read book,
Ponds in the Game, is considered by most historical experts
