The apostle Paul affirmed the truth that salvation is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8–9). This verse extends the final invitation to sinners to come to Christ and quench their spiritual thirst. The Holy Spirit extends this invitation through the Bride, the church. Those who come to Christ drink the water of life freely.

(00:00):
So today we're gonna be reading Revelationchapter twenty two, verse seventeen. The
Spirit and the bride say, come, and let the one who hears say
come, and let the one whois thirsty come. Let the one who
wishes take the water of life withoutcosts. So in Ephesians chapter two,
verses eight through nine, the apostlePaul if it sizes the free gift of

(00:24):
salvation. In the Gospels, Jesustalked to a woman by the well,
and he invited her to drink ofhis living water, in which if she
drinks of it, she would neverthirst again. Now, after a little
bit more of a conversation, thewoman realized that she was talking to the
anointed One, the Messiah, theone that was promised to come. And

(00:49):
she knows through the person of JesusChrist that she was offered salvation at this
moment. This gift is still extendedto us and to the world. In
Revelation chapter twenty two, verse seventeen, God's mission was for Jesus Christ to
come and save which that was lost. And because Christ has extended back into

(01:12):
to heaven at the right hand ofthe throne of God, he has extended
this ministry of repentance and of salvationand reconciliation to his bride, the Church.
As stated here in verse seventeen, the Holy Spirit tells the lass to
come. His bride tells the lassto come. His bride is the Church.

(01:37):
We have the ministry of reconciliation, brothers and sisters. That means we
ought to tell the dying world thatthey don't have to die in their sin,
but they can accept the free giftof salvation on display by the person
of Jesus Christ, who paid thepenalty for their sin, and they can

(01:57):
obtain salvation. Make that change. We have that responsibility to tell the dying
world that there is life, andthere is life abundantly to the person of
Jesus Christ. We should tell themto come. This open invitation has been
instituted since the fall of Man.God has been telling people to come to

(02:19):
him in faith, and especially thismessage has been echoed from Genesis to Revelation,
especially in the Gospels and New Testament. The invitation has not changed.
He says, come in us ashis bride, as his children, as
his ambassadors. We must say comeas well. We must invite the world

(02:40):
to know Jesus Christ. By tellingthem about Jesus Christ, by being honest
with them in loving that they aresinners who need to be saved. Brothers
and sisters. God, through theperson of Jesus Christ, is able to
save every soul. If you andin your family and all that you know,

(03:05):
will put their faith and trust inHim. In Him alone, they
will obtain salvation. Join me forthe rest of our lives here on this
earth in proclaiming this message. Come, God said, Come, Jesus said,
Come, The Holy Spirit says,Come. The Church must say,
come and invite and proclaim we areheralds. We must proclaim the message of

(03:31):
salvation to all the dying world, that they too may be saved and not
dye in their sin and face thewrath of God. The invitation is still
open to all those who inhabit theearth, but we must proclaim His word.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
