My Truck A two thousand and seven Ford F two
fifty six Point, oh Diesel sitting on thirty seven inch
tires with a two foot solid steel bumper was my
pride and joy. It was mid October, late at night,
around midnight, and I was driving back from Medford, Oregon,
heading to Klamath. I had just passed Lake of the
Woods on Highway one Pin forty, cruising at about seventy

miles per hour. As I drove, I spotted a herd
of deer up ahead, so I slowed down to around
thirty five or forty miles per hour, keeping an eye
out for any more that might be nearby. That's when
I saw it. It stepped out of the treeline and
I immediately slammed on the brakes. In just three steps,
it stopped directly in front of my truck. My head
lights and light bar illuminated a massive creature. It was

covered in long, dark brown hair, and you could clearly
see the muscles and definition of its body. As it
turned its head and body, I noticed its face. It
had dark skin, lighter around the lips, with yellow stained
teeth and large sharp canines. Its nose was flat, and
its eyes were dark, mean and primal. The entire encounter

lasted just a few seconds, but it felt like a lifetime. Then,
just as quickly as it had appeared, it turned, took
two more steps, and vanished back into the forest.
