Speaker 1 (00:00):
When your old career gives you lemons throwing some ice
mix in some vodka.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Colored a podcast from the Mac of All Trade Studio
in Fairport and driven by Victor Chrysler Dots jeep Ram.
It's Billified the Bill Moran Podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Well, hello and welcome. Thanks for getting your pot on,
Thanks for telling a friend. That's how we spread the
word about the pirate ship. I'm excited because I got
a call that Madge, who's been on the podcast before
and has her own podcast, Match Unmuted, was going to
be in town taping an episode. And then she texted
(00:54):
me saying, I'm sorry, I'm running late. I'll be there
in about five minutes. I said, perfect, no worries and
they and don't laugh at me because I'm dressed like
a troll up which I was like for my Caesar
premiere and I'm like a troll and I'm thinking, what.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
I walk in the door with this outfit on?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
It is a boosty and your BOOSTI is boosted out?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yes it is, and I got that. I don't want
to give it.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Oh look at that, so I got sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Sorry for that angle there, Bill, you gotta picture the
Holland Tunnel there for a minute.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
So, oh my god, I almost just spit out my water.
What are you doing right now?
Speaker 6 (01:45):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (01:45):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:45):
So when I walked in with this outfit and and
You're like, give me the look, like what And I'm like,
oh god, do I look that bad?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
No? No, no, no, no, no, old lady, What did I
say to you?
Speaker 5 (01:57):
And then you said, oh, I thought you were going
you're not dressed as a troll or whatever you said, and.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
I said, trall up.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Well, if I read it out like fanatically, it does
say trill up, but it says it is two words.
And I was just I was firing through things. I'm
on the phone with my kid's mom, trying to talk
stuff out with the hymn and blah blah blah. So
I've been you know how it works to remove a
mile one hundred miles an hour?
Speaker 4 (02:24):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
So you're in town to do your season premiere match.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
On muted is season six?
Speaker 3 (02:31):
This is great? And when does it drop?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Hold? Please?
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Okay? Hold please?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Good? It drops on Friday?
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay? Good?
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Hopefully.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
So yeah, I'm trying to I'm going to do one
every week. Okay, I'm trying to stay current. I want
to get them I want to record them and get
them out right away because the stuff is timely. Like
I wish I could do, you know, a daily like
you do, but I don't have enough material.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
And you know that's imagine.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
That even Drew, you said you're around, come in. I had, well,
Danny is normally here with me tonight, but his wife
had a procedure and so he was going to be
with his wife. And then you said can I come in?
And I go, that's great because Madge has a lot
to say about a lot of things, and I thought,
you know, you have a media background, and I thought
(03:27):
we could talk about some of the other things that
are happening in the world.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
And I I.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Like and respect your opinion, believe it or not.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Yeah, no, I know I had wanted to talk to
you about some uh doing some stuff, podcast stuff, and
but but yeah, you could tell that that didn't work out.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
We can we can, we can still do that, we
can do that in between.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah. So I'm so glad that that you asked me
to partake.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Of course. So here's the thing that I find interesting
with this whole I watched last night, I couldn't watch
I could not watch same I had to go to YouTube,
and I think I waited till I don't think I
found it till like one o'clock in the morning. Oh. Really, Well,
it was weird because I was doing a bunch of
other things and the next thing I know, I go, wow,
(04:16):
does this happen? I get like a surge of entergy.
You know what I did?
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Oh, I do the same thing.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Here's the bad part I had. I stopped at Starbucks
and got an energy shot. They do these ginger energy shots,
and so I took that at about three o'clock in
the afternoon and madge. I did that once with a
red bull, and I cannot fall asleep. So I was awake,
and I finally found Kimmel's monologue as he opened up,
(04:45):
which I thought was hysterically funny. The first part I
did too.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
It uploaded, Uh probably what did you started?
Speaker 5 (04:53):
Eleven thirty five? It was like an eighteen minute monologue.
It was up by like ten of twelve.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
It was okay midnight. Yeah, I didn't see it. Yeah,
it was twenty five minutes.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Yeah, because I kept watching because I couldn't. I couldn't.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, because we have Sinclair stations and they're not putting
them on.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Yeah, and so I was, you know, bound and determined
to find it, and I just sent away for the
YouTube things.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
So I did watch and then I only watched half
of it until he went to I think he took
a commercial break.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
In between you in the middle of his monologue.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Yeah, And then I waited till this morning because then
then I'm tired. Then then I go, oh shit, I'm
in bed all it's time to sleep. So I did that,
and then I got up this morning and I did
watch your thoughts on all of it would be what
i'd like. I'd like to you will let me see that.
It's a weird it's a weird time. I don't understand
(05:45):
what's happening. Yeah, I mean I do.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Understand, which no, right, And so I just talked about
this on my podcast.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
So I just recorded that. I'm I've always tried to
be very.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Diplomatic about things too. I'm fucking done with that. I mean,
you are, I am you know in June I turned sixty. Yeah,
and I these are all the fucks that I have.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Really, there's none there, There's none there.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
And so I'm just I'm going because you know, I
haven't I didn't want to turn off certain people.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
And I have friends that are on both sides. I
have very.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Close people in my life that walk both sides. And
I just found myself that I was just doing a
disservice to myself because it was affecting my mental health
by not talking.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
I think that that's like really self aware.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Yeah, so I really I could.
Speaker 7 (06:42):
I was.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I knew I was getting very anxious, and I was like,
this feels like somewhere I've been before in my life.
Oh yeah, most of it where I tried to be
something else people you know, wanted me to be, which
was not myself. So I was trying to, you know,
constantly dim my light. And I'm like, fuck this I done?
So where do I start? You know, free speech, most
(07:10):
people don't know what the fuck that really is.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Thank you, because I agree with you. It's ugly. Free
speech is ugly, right, right, So you got to tolerate
both sides exactly.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
You have to tolerate both sides, and it doesn't. But
it also means it.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Also means that you're not also know sorry, it also means.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
That you're not free from consequences. However, you should be
free from consequencesquences from the government. Yeah, so you know when.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
When people are always.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
You know, you you're online, and somebody says, uh, horrific things,
and then like, it's free speech, man.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
I should say whatever want.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Because when some if someone else even comes in and says, gee,
that's not cool, that's incredibly racist.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Free speech man, I could say whatever I want. It's like, okay,
well that doesn't mean I.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Have to like it, right, that's very very astute, right,
because I'm not gonna like what somebody says. There's books
in print that I would never read. There's that. But
when it comes to like the Kimmel situation, it's not.
Here's where it gets tough because you know, and I
(08:27):
talk to you about things happening in local radio, and
I'll just go back to that. That isn't so much
free speech as it's corporate. And it almost feels like
many people for many years said I wish we could
have a businessman in the White House. There was always
a little run in the country like a business right.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Sorry, I think I just sprained an eyeball.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yes, so right now, it does feel a little bit
like America the corporation. And here's what I mean, if
you work at a place like paychecks, they give you
a dress code, you have to adhere by the rules.
And if you continue to walk in there. And I
would say this to my kids all the time, to
anybody like I don't agree with the Catholic church, but
(09:13):
I'm a Catholic and I continue to go. If you
walk in their door, you got to play by their
rules or you gotta leave. You can leave and find
something else. You have that free choice. So when it
comes to Kimmel, I was like, at first, I go,
I don't know what this is. I watched a by
accident that night that had happened. I had the Monday
(09:33):
night football game on, which was on ABC. I flipped
over to ESPN. That game was boring. I went back
to ABC and just had it on as background noise.
Some show where this woman is super smart and she
could figure stuff out. Oh do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
So I don't watch. And then right after that the
news was on and are you too hot?
Speaker 5 (09:54):
Well you tell me, yeah, I'm sorry, I can lower this.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
So I don't even know what to say. It's very
rare that I get a loss to so as I'm
watching it, I saw the whole thing. It was funny.
But the part that seemed to upset people was when
he said something along the lines of the right seems
(10:27):
to be distancing themselves as much as possible from the
individual who shot Charlie Kirk because that person's family was maga.
I've read things that he was even further right. Other
people say he's not, he had whatever, but they were
distancing and I and you can kind of understand it.
He just saw that to me was like a throwaway.
It was nothing. It was a nothing. And the problem
(10:51):
is that it's the FCC chairman that decided that. That's why.
And here's what people don't understand. And this is the
corporate part of the thing. In business, yeah, a lot
of deals get made, right, so we talk about backdoor deals.
That's why there's rules and things in government. I remember
(11:12):
my buddy's dad was the GM of Upstate Milk when
we were in college, and he got let go because
the company was fine for price fixing or it said
to be part of price fixing. In other words, they
would go to the schools and go, all right, you
get the bid this time, match, and I get the
bid next time. We're going to go, well, he's raise
it a little bit, but we'll come in the lowest
and it'll still be fifty cents of more than we
(11:32):
were getting per Carton or something like that. So these
kind of things happen, and this felt like that. It's like, hey, man,
you want you guys, ABC Disney, you want to buy
the NFL network, You want that approved by the FCC.
Shut your mouth piece up. And it felt the same
way with Colbert. But at first with Colbert, I kept saying, hey,
it's corporate. If you're losing money. They were saying they're
(11:55):
losing money. Things I read said that. I said, as
much as I don't like it, I don't like silencing
of voices. This isn't a free speech issue because it's
a business issue, and business is cold, and it's pretty
much black and white. We have feelings like when the
local radio station. I don't like seeing local people off
the radio. I don't care who they are. I think
that's terrible, but it's if they're not making Their whole
(12:19):
thing is to make money. That's it. The business is in.
You know, you're in the business to make money. So
that's what I thought. But then when you now look
at it through a slightly different lens, and you see this.
It's really disturbing because that's not and I said this,
and it was somebody else said it I saw afterwards.
I try to stay away when there's hot issues from
reaching anybody else's opinion. So mine is truly mine. It's
(12:43):
not influenced. And I said, this is not American. It
felt non American to me, or un American in a sense. Right,
it's anti American, And I thought, wow, And you know,
he got emotional as he talked about Look, I said,
when that when Charlie Kirk got shot, that to me
(13:05):
was damaging to free speech because I feel like people
would be quiet, no matter what they wanted to say,
for fear that someone could have put a bullet in
their brain or wherever. And that that, to me is terrible.
I don't want to see free speech. There is the
ugly side of it, and that's okay. I'd rather have
(13:25):
that than not that at all.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Yes, well, yeah, let me start out by saying is
start out by saying, Charlie Kirk being murdered was not okay.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
It's awful.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
It's awful, horrendous, it's horrible. That shouldn't have happened. No one,
that's not the answer. No, And it's it's horrible, you know,
for his wife and his kids, anybody, anybody that loved him.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
I mean, you know, anyway, that's terrible.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
And this is going to be controversial, and and he was,
and you're you're right because so many people have tried
to spin it on why ABC yanked him, what like
what one thing did he say? And I think you're
right on the money, well on the money that you know,
(14:24):
he said that the guy was the.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Shooter was maga.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Or or the fact that he said that the shooter
wasn't on the left. But the other thing is, you know,
I thought the funniest thing is when he said, and
and I'm I'm kind of thinking Trump is very very
very thin skin.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Trump Trump admitted it years ago, years ago. And played
a clip of that last night.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Yeah, yeah, and he admitted it, and he said that,
oh my god, what was the thing he said?
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Well, they played the clip of them saying, you know, oh,
aren't you upset about your friend? Yeah, and look at
these trucks over here and building this ballroom. And then
everybody laughed, and it's like however, so you were saying, yes,
corporations can't say can right, they can have their standards. However,
(15:23):
when it's dictated that that's the part that's icky because
and it's two things is what the chairman of the
FCC car said and then doubled down on about basically
like you do this the easy way of the hard way.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
That's a threat.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
And that's on American and that's what free speech is
supposed to protect. And the other thing was that the
thing about Trump is dude can't keep a secret to
save his life. Dude tells on himself all the time.
I was gonna say he would telegraph things. Hell, it's
(16:04):
not even a telegraph. He's holding up a big sign
and he's he he had it out for any all
of those late nights and smol all he ever did
was bitching a plane about him and tell him they're terrible,
and he said, I'm going after them.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah, I'm a they're no talent. But you know, it's funny,
not funny. But I defended President Trump somewhat in that.
I said, I don't know how if someone I was
close to was shot and killed, and you asked me
about it, that I would have my thoughts together enough
to just say it's a terrible thing. I'd like to
(16:41):
think I would be poised, But then you know, you're
looking for any other thing to talk about, so you
point over here. The problem is that even at the
at the memorial, I mean, I had people who are
staunch Trump supporters say to me, I didn't see it.
They said, how disgusting it was. Yeah, because there was
no unity in this. He was like there and I
(17:01):
don't want to say because I didn't see it, but
it was negative about people that on the other side, Stephen.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Miller, it was very negative.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
Count Chocola. They it was very very much like they're
the enemy who did this. Everybody's our enemy. I hate
my enemy. Even after Charlie Kirk's widow, Erica.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Publicly for Gate for Gate, which is which is crazy, wonderful.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
And that's a Christian thing to do, her saying that
she's a Christian, that's what you do.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
But then everybody else going, you know, it seemed like.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
A a rally, you know, it seemed like a you know,
but also here's another weird thing who has pyrotechnics at
a memorial service.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Well, if I could, you know, when my dad died,
if I could launch his ashes off in pyrotechnics exactly.
Other than that, I don't know. I see, I didn't
see all that stuff. I've stayed away from the news,
but because I find it all disturbing. And the one
thing I would always say about Charlie Kirk was I
(18:12):
think he would say things that were inflammatory to get attention. Sure,
but at the end of the day or at the
end of it, I always felt like he was trying
to have a discourse and I equated him to peer review,
where he would poke holes in your thinking. But it
was the inflammatory stuff that really stood out, you know,
(18:33):
And I don't know. The whole thing is just so
fucking weird. It's just so weird. It's all so weird.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
It's surreal, yes it is.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
It's like, you go, how is this happening? And then
you know, I think what you start to see more
and more is the independent lane is gonna continue to
grow and widen because people don't want to be controlled
in any way, which, by the way, was why many
people wanted President Trump in the in office, because they
(19:03):
did not want to be told how to live or
what to do, or we need to whatever, okay, And
now it feels like, well, hang on a second. If
that's the case, you got to have it for all Americans,
not just some Americans.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
But if you.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Think of think of politicians, you think of the politician playbook.
Trump is a poster child for now. Therefore he is
no longer an outside well I have become.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
I'll say this about President Trump.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
Because he makes everybody play the party line anyway.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Well, you would you feel in love when he's telling them,
like Europe's go to hell, your country go to hell
at the UN that's funny. But here's the thing. I
would say that the presidency itself, the office is a
bully pulpit. And I don't think anybody in the history
(20:01):
of America has ever used it as effectively and maybe
ever will use it as effectively as Trump. And I'll
give you an example of what I mean. Ninety days
into Obama it might have been his second term. It
was people are sick of hearing from Obama that the
polls were coming back. So he responded to that. He
(20:21):
lowered his rhetoric or whatever he was saying. He just
he's not Trump doesn't give a shit. He's like, fuck you,
I'm gonna do it. And I go, he's done that.
And as much as there's the grappling over the ice
stuff and what's going on, if the if the bottom
line was to stop border crossings, illegal border crossings, son
(20:42):
of a bitch, he sort of did it. You know what.
I mean, they're way down, They're way way down. They
are down. I mean that those are facts, and then
that's the stuff where I go, Yeah, I wish there
were I don't like anything that I'm seeing, but if
you're gonna give point, there's yeah, but you wish that.
(21:03):
At the same time, it wasn't we're not quieting. I
just turned the damn camera off, all right, sorry, which
means that the guy who was waiting patiently, Oh maybe
he's still there, Okay, Oh nope, no, hang on, we're
gonna be stand by Peter. I just did something wrong.
Uh well, anyway that that that was the thing, and
(21:24):
I thought it was a funny way to open with
him last night, and oh yeah, and uh I got
to think that it you know, it gets to be
a little scary. It's got to be scary in some way. Yeah,
I mean when the presidents, I think it can really
get you down. I go, oh my god, interesting too,
(21:46):
we do. We live in very interesting times, very interesting times.
All right, I do have Well, I'm gonna take a break.
I have Peter Montemerno was gonna come on and talk Bills.
You're welcome to stay. Peter is in Las Vegas. I
would assume a business trip, but I don't know the
answer to that. Always on pleasure. I can see him
(22:08):
on screen. He's shaking his head, so we will get that.
I've never been to Vegas, really, yeah, never been. And
I just had someone say to me, you should never go.
You would, you would probably not sleep for three days.
You would go take advantage. But I go, I'm too
old now.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
It ain't all that, I don't think.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
But we'll get to uh, Peter, some thoughts and the Bills,
and I know you're a Bills fan and you've got
some thoughts as well. I'm sure I am. We'll get
to all that right after this. bTB would fire PiZZ
and grill in the mall at Greece Ridge. There's a
game coming up Sunday. The Saints are coming to Buffalo
to play the Buffalo Bills. It's a one o'clock game.
(22:51):
This is a game that we all have a feeling
us how it's going to go. I mean, the spread
is fifteen and a half. I'm just saying, why not
go to BTV over fifty TVs a lot of like
minded people. Fun place to watch a Bill's game, I'm
telling you one of the most fun places to watch
a Bill's game. Bring your appetite and get the crispy
(23:11):
potato skins piled high with cheddar, mozzarella, bacon, plus a
side of sour cream. It is delicious. I mean you
can even go for classic toppings or load them up
whatever you want. Betb what fire pizza and girl? Yeah? Look,
I ate an entire pizza when I was out there
(23:32):
by myself. I only say that because when have you
sat down and just gone this is so good. I
can't get enough of it. Anything. I didn't have to
be pizza. I'm just saying anything, And that's how I
felt about the pizza. It was so good. I couldn't
get enough of it. Yes, fifteen dollars large one topping
(23:53):
pizzas dine in only take advantage of that. Be kind
of the bartenders. They're always hustling for you over there.
It's all about you when you go into bTB would
fire pizza and grill in the mallic rease Rich. Check
them out, uh, and you'll see all kinds of delicious
things that they have at bTB. On Facebook, it's Facebook
dot com slash bTB wood fired Pizza. They are online
(24:15):
with their own website bt B r o C dot com.
bTB would fire pizza and grill in the mall at
Crease Rich.
Speaker 8 (24:35):
Already for it.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
That's why all right, now we're ready. Now we're ready.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Peter Montremurro from Vegas. What's going on in Vegas? Peter?
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Some buddies from Buffalo back in the day.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
I'll get together out here. But you're right, two days,
two nights, and I'm out of here. I can't stay
here for more than three total days.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I don't know Vegas. I've never been to Vegas.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
You have to just let's just show out here. If
it does go to the super Bowl, there was show
from Vegas, how.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
About that'd be awesome. The I might be afraid. I
had somebody say to me, I don't think you and
Vegas would not be a good thing. And I go,
why they go? Because you like to drink too much
and you'd stay up all night. And I do love
having fun. I mean that is that's my purpose in
life is to have fun. But yeah, speaking of fun,
(25:37):
the Bills undefeated at this point, and it does look like, gosh,
they could. I mean, the one stumbling block that many
of us saw was Baltimore, and I don't know, that
was amazing. And now Baltimore looks I mean, the Lions
made them look less than spectacular. Seven times they got
to the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
And it's amazing.
Speaker 7 (25:59):
They fell apart in the fourth quarter again, like they
fell apart in the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bill.
So they have their own demons that they are trying
to transfix over there in Baltimore. But it was a gosh,
it was an interesting game that they had there. And
Detroit looked really really good, really good, really good.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Detroit looks like maybe they're the best team. I don't know,
it's hard to say, because they didn't look that good,
you know, even against did they play Dallas recently, I
didn't look so good against.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
They looked terrible against green.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Bay, Great Bank, green Bay horrible, Yeah, terrible.
Speaker 7 (26:32):
And then like just they ever said they lost eight coaches,
they're not gonna be able to rebound. They not gonna
have the year, But man, I tell you that under
the lights Monday night football, they came to play and
they still have the same talent. They didn't lose much talent.
They got Hutchinson back. Who I'm telling you the guys,
the game changer is one of the best. It's not
the best defensive player in the league right now. But
back to Buffalo, man I three and oh. We weren't
(26:55):
expecting that. It's interesting that the Bills are three and oh,
and then the Chiefs and the Ravens are playing for
who's going to be one in three? You think about
that the ginning of the year. Did nothink about that.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
But how are you feeling about Buffalo? Certainly against the
Dolphins Thursday night games so short week, you're talking about
guys banged up on defense, and boy, there were times
and you're always going to hear this when you're playing
a division game, And I always say, I don't know
(27:30):
with the professionals. I think every game is every game,
but do seem to play up more when you're in
the environment. And they were able to move the ball
quickly against the Bills.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
So that was the thing I think the game plan
coming in would look to by the naked eyes get
the ball out of to his hands quick So even
though the Bills didn't have it Oliver, they still had
boast on the pass rush.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
They're a very good penetrating team, so they.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
Wanted to get the ball out of Oliver's or to
his hands quickly, and they did that, and they did
a good job doing that. Guys are open quick, they
made quick throws. They didn'tow any pressure to get to Tuist.
So I kept saying in my house something, guys, suspend
your pass rush, stop it, and get your hands in
passing lanes. Now, they did that towards the end of
the game, which resulted in that interception. I can't remember
(28:18):
the d line and Walker maybe that got his hands
up actually tip the balls also slightly. It may have
been intercepted anyway. But when you get hands in passing lanes,
that's going to do way more damage than trying to
go one hundred miles an hour trying to get to
the quarterback when the quarterbacks are not going to allow
you to do that during the game. So that was
a little bit of a chest match. I thought they
were going to do more misdirection than they did. The
(28:40):
Bills were caught in some of the big chunksy yards
of the Dolphins got. The Bills were caught in some
stunts where they slanted the entire line to the right
and the Dolphins had the play going back to the left,
and you put a linebacker on an island, you just can't.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
You know.
Speaker 7 (28:52):
The Dolphins out coached him on that one, the one
thing that I got frustrated with.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
And they won the game, and that's great.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
But as you know, anybody who's ever played the game,
and anybody any coach who's ever coached the game, you know,
nothing is ever as good as it seems, nothing is
ever as bad as it seems. The one thing that
I got frustrated with is in that first series that
the Dolphins had that was not a catch by Tarik
Hill on the sideline that was bobbled and he had
(29:20):
one foot in bounce. Yeah, why was the challenge flag
not thrown? I'm not going to call that out of McDermott.
I was a third down would have forced the Dolphins
to punt. They eventually scored seven on that play, but
people might be thinking why used putting hairs three and
no you have in those games where you're gonna need
(29:42):
that play to go your way, you have to have
a well oiled machine when it comes to instant replay.
Now could have the headsets gone down, technology gone down.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
No one was communicating. They couldn't hear say throw the flag. Possibly.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
This is why preseason is so important to the coach,
not just to the point we have too many preseason games.
It's so important to the coaches for those types of
situations where you have to have the processed down path
and you have to have someone in the booth watching
that play before we see it, before we see it
(30:17):
in our homes or wherever we're watching it. Because they
got a phone down to mcdermom's, they throw the challenge.
Frag goes absolutely not a catch. So that was a
big issue for me. I mean, it kept the game close,
and I think that that wasn't the only thing, but
it was so early in the game. The Bills obviously
overcame it, but just those little tiny things Bill and
(30:37):
it's again three games in. They're gonna get better at
that as a game as the year goes on, But
just a small thing when the teams are better. You're
going to need that back.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yeah, I mean, that's a very valid point. Everything. It
is funny how instant replay can turn a game around,
How a holding call on a deep pass can change
It's the whole momentum of a game, and especially if
the defender gets called for past interference or holding or
something like that. So yeah, I mean, and you're right,
(31:09):
it's so hard because the game moves so fast. But
they have a lot of dies and everybody's got the iPads. Look,
I think, uh, you know, the Eagles look pretty pretty good, right,
and they they blocked two field goals. And when they
talked to the big lineman who blocked one and then
scooped it up and ran it in, he said, yeah,
(31:29):
the game film now is being watched during the game.
So they started to see it on the iPad. A
tendency with this kicker that he went a certain direction,
like the ball hooked or whatever, and if we got
our hand up, and they did and it worked. And
so you're right, I mean, eyes are everywhere. How how
are you missing that? Because it's an opportunity. It's an
(31:52):
opportunity that would have kept that would have kept points
off the board.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
Yeah, we absolutely kept points off the board, and I
think there was momentum again that was that put the
Dolphins up seven nothing, and I think that obviously the
Bills overcame it, but I don't think that was the
crucial turning point of the game.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Obviously it is way.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
Too early, but I think that the Bills after they scored,
they started to have momentum and you felt like the
wave was coming where they're going to overtake the Dolphins
and this is going to be a blowout, and it
didn't happen. I give credit to the Dolphins, but I
think the Bills have some things to fix as well,
on the defensive side of the ball, or giving up
too many third downs, way too many third downs. Their
(32:31):
third down defense has has to do better. Now they
they bend again, they bend, but they don't break. Probably
gonna have a great game this weekend. I sat down
here in the hotel room Bill and I looked behind me, like,
my god, it's the Saints colors built. That's in an
omen with the gold in the black behind me. But no,
I think they're going to be fine against the Saints.
But I really I the offense is is you know
(32:54):
what can you say, I mean, they're they're just clicking
on all cylinders.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Josh Allen is Josh Allen. We don't have that.
Speaker 7 (33:02):
True number one receiver and in this offense you don't
need it. And I think that would actually bring the
offense back if you had that quote unquote wide receiver
one or that diva out there that wants the.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Ball all the time. These guys don't. These guys want
to win.
Speaker 7 (33:16):
They want to win, and the offense is really Josh
makes them better.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Josh puts the ball. He throws them open. That's one
thing Lamar doesn't do.
Speaker 7 (33:25):
You see, Lamar doesn't throw a lot of passes into
windows are as big as of it as a tissue box.
He's got a lot of separation out there. Josh does not.
He throws these guys open. And that's a that's a
big difference, and just amazing that he's three weeks in,
didn't take a preseason snap, and he's operating like he
it's midseason already.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
The Saints not a great team this year. No, not
well at all. But again, you know you get caught
sleeping on that. Is there any concern for you in
this it's a home game, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
It's a home game one o'clock.
Speaker 7 (34:02):
Yeah, not really. There's no one really to look past.
You can look past them to the next opponent. Frankly,
I don't even know who the next opponent is. I
don't think it's anybody where you have to worry about
looking looking past the Saints. But it's a fifteen and
a half point spread, I mean, my goodness. Yeah, you
know it was a twelve It was twelve point spread
(34:22):
for the Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
And I'm thinking, yeah, and they covered the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Come they covered?
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Yeah, you call it, Peter.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Get a point when.
Speaker 7 (34:31):
I felt I felt right, I'm going to go out
on a limb here and say, man, we might see
the Bills beat the spread.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
They're never good against the spread. Let's see what happened
before Sunday. That's going to drop a little bit.
Speaker 7 (34:43):
Okay, I can't stay at fifteen and a half, but
I could see it too too. Touchdown when by the
Bills on Sunday. You know again it comes down to
this bill. Everybody has to execute and everybody has to
stay healthy.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Well, no game is easy, right, No NFL game is
else the NFL.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
It's the NFL, right, it's any given in Sunday.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
So the spread twelve, you think it's gonna come down
or no, fifteen, I'm sorry, that was the fifteen and
a half right now, fifteen and a half, that'll drop
a little bit. Uh, talk to me real quick about
Kansas City again. Early in the season. Hard to say, right,
I mean, how many times have we seen the Bengals
(35:26):
start off and everybody go what's going on? And then
they're in the playoffs. You know, they're deep in the
playoffs by they.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Well they're gonna Yeah, they're gonna have a run. But
I can't figure that.
Speaker 7 (35:36):
I think I want to say that people saying, oh
that everybody's figured out Patrick.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Mahone, No, no, no.
Speaker 7 (35:41):
Yeah, the guy can now juke you in a phone booth.
I mean it's it's he is really really good, and
they're going to go on a run. They are going
to go on a run. That's why I think it's
vital in my opinion that the Ravens beat them on Sunday,
not vice versa. I was like, yeah, we want to
get Lamar out. No, your nemesis is the Chiefs. So
(36:01):
them being one and three in the Bills being three
and oh or possibly four. And oh goodness gracious, that's
a really good sign for the Bills having on field
advantage throughout the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
But I can't figure Kansas City right out right now.
I just can't. Other teams are figuring them out. Well,
they won this chargerst game is great.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Yeah, they won this past week. But Kelsey getting Matt
on this island, I kind of like that. I have
no problem with that.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
No, that's fine. It's part of football.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
It's I mean, there's some point before.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
There's so many cameras on everybody right now, so we're
going to see things like that that you may not
have seen twenty years ago.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah, and you're seeing everything now.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Keep that in mind. You're in Vegas, a lot of
cameras around.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
My wife's watching, my wife's watching.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Oh my gosh. What So this is just a guy's
trip to Vegas for Yeah, you do it every year.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
It's Buddy's birthday.
Speaker 7 (36:56):
Yeah, he started doing it when his fortieth birthday, and
he's taken it into you know, into the fifties here,
and it's a bunch of us that have families now
and we all just reconnect one time a year and
kind of do Vegas the old style, you know, a
good dinner. Yeah, you do a little gambling, really not
truly late late nights because frankly we can't handle that anymore.
(37:17):
But you know, we do Greatjenner. We actually one of
the people we know is the the general manager for
Hell's Kitchen. So we've got this whole VIP experience for
dinner tomorrow night.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
We're looking forward to that. Wow. Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Now do you check out any shows? Is that something
you had got into? I mean they got a great.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Shows, Yeah, they do. And I'm actually right out my
window is the Sphere.
Speaker 7 (37:44):
You can see the Sphere right out right outside of
my window here on the plot where I'm staying at
the Platzo and they.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Have the Wizard of Oz and we're actually toying with that.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Just because showing the Wizard of Oz in in the sphere.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
The sphere, and there's an actual tornado that happened inside
the sphere, so you're getting the feel of the wind
things flying as the tornado scene is happening.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
So it looks sounds like it's kind of cool. I mean,
back Backstreet.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
Boys were here last month and there's all this all
stuff going on. But there's all these types of shows.
I don't think we're gonna we're gonna see a show,
but still there's there's you know, everything at your disposal.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, everything at your disposal. And the I just heard
a story about a guy who was sixteen is his
parents divorced. He dad moved to Vegas. He went to
visit dad and spent the weekend with a showgirl and
then she came to Rochester to visit.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
I have that queued up to listen to you. I
can't wait to see it.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
It's like, it's the most bizarre thing. And I go,
all right, if you're pursuing it, I guess there's no
and it's hard to growing up. It's when the older
woman is pursuing you. Yes, yes, yes, that's the thing.
We'll have a great time in Vegas and we will
talk to you next week. We'll hear all the adventures.
And that dinner sounds pretty amazing. I mean, isn't that sad, Peter.
(39:02):
We're at the age where we go, you know, a
nice dinner and a good scotch, maybe a night class
of wine. I'm good, I'm I'm all right, exactly, I'm
all right. Yeah, show girls, strip joints.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Yeah, go to bed.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Yeah, I know. Then I would be right there. And
the great thing that I think I'm looking behind you,
it looks like there are blackout curtains, like you don't
know what time it is. I would I would get
I mean, I'd make it fifty five degrees in there.
I'd be under the biggest blanket and I would sleep.
I was hibernating and these it's Vaine.
Speaker 7 (39:36):
Here's a secret with Vegas from what I what someone
who told me that is worked here in a casino.
They lower after nine pm. They lower the temperature one
degree every hour, and they pump the.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Floor full of oxygen.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
Oh so you're staying away.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
So they want this, make it this, make it a
little sexist, So forgive me.
Speaker 7 (40:01):
But they want the men to stay up and gamble,
and they want the wives to be cold and go
to bed, to leave them, to leave them alone, to
leave their husbands alone, so they could stay there and gamble.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Believe me, there are people that study this stuff, so
I have no doubt that this is true.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
This is science to it.
Speaker 7 (40:17):
There is a you're walking you could tell if you
leave if you come from outside two o'clock in the morning.
You you have to go through this casino floor to
get to any elevator in any hotel. So you walk
through a casino flour and you you feel it. Oh
my god, it's like six in the morning. It's unbelievable.
It's a different experience.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Wow. All right, Well, I hope you get lots of
oxygen and lose no money.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Hey man, thank you, sir. I've already lost two hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
You'll get it back at that back it's two hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
I'll put another two hundred on the bills beating the
spread this week.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
All right, sounds good, Peter, travel safe and we'll talk
to you next you, sir.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
All right, all right, sounds good.
Speaker 3 (41:00):

Speaker 6 (42:52):
Phone a warm summer's even phone, a train bounce, met
up with the dam. We were both too tired to sleep,
so we took turns of staring out the window at
the darkness. The board them overtook us and he began
to speak. He said, son, I made a life out
(43:16):
of reading people's faces and knowing what the cards were
by the way they held their eyes. So if you
don't mind my sin, I could see you out of
vass for a taste of whiskey.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
I give you some in fins.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
So I handed him.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
By bottle and he drank down my last swaveles. Then
he bombed a cigarette and asked me for the light.
And the night got down to the choiet.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
And his face lost all expression. He said, if you're.
Speaker 6 (43:53):
Going to play the game boy, you gotta learn to
play right, because you got the dose.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
When no window.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
I don't know why that song, just that song, and
it seems perfect to bring on Juice with his uh
picks for the Week four of the NFL. Already, My god,
how you doing? I'm doing well? Uh So, first of all, Juice,
let's go back. How's the how's the baby?
Speaker 8 (44:28):
Baby's good? He's uh, he's taken to the tit like
his old man. He's dude, he's latching on awesome where
he was sleeping, which he was speaking a little like
his old man.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Oh that's great, that's uh, well, that's good. You s well,
he's a how old is he? What is it like
four weeks?
Speaker 8 (44:53):
He's gonna be two weeks uh this Friday?
Speaker 3 (44:55):
So okay, yeah, it's uh, it's a lot. How old
are you Jews?
Speaker 8 (45:03):
I'm forty one. I'll be forty two in about three weeks.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
All that have to be on with all that shit? Yeah,
well I did it too. Hey. Look, I was thirty
eight when I had my youngest, So that not that
there's anything. It's just you know, I don't feel like enough.
I wouldn't want to get up today for a baby.
I just no, no thanks.
Speaker 8 (45:23):
Yeah, but I also you know I started late, so
I you know, I got everything in, you know, everything
I wanted to do, I'd done, you know what I mean? Yeah,
in terms of like, you know, my parents were done
at thirty. You know, they had four kids at the
age of thirty. It's just different time.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
People have it is later, it is and I think
and I almost feel like, I don't know, right because
I look back at my parents. This is a good
conversation to have with you. I look back at my parents,
and my oldest son turned twenty five today. I was
born when my dad was twenty five. My mom was
just turned twenty four, and I can't imagine my kid
(46:03):
having a kid. I can't imagine being a grandparent, right,
and I should that's the order of life, that's where
we're at. But I go, man, and it seems so young.
But I remember as a kid going, well that this
is what my dad did, this is what I'm supposed
to do. I should get I should get married. And
I got engaged and then I ended it. So but
(46:26):
the point being that, you know, it was sooner and
they seemed more mature. Maybe I don't know, I don't
know why that is. I don't know why that is.
Speaker 8 (46:36):
I certainly wasn't. I wasn't ready at you know, in
my twenties or even in my early thirties. You know,
I just I wasn't there yet, you know, Yeah, I
don't know that I was, so I waited till you know,
when you know, I'm I'm totally fine with it. You know,
I'll even have another if you know, if it comes up,
no problem.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Well guys can I mean, I think they call it
at a certain age, and I don't know what it is.
I think it's mid thirties for women were just called
like geriatric pregnancy. However, I don't it's a scary sounding term.
I mean, it's a startling turn let's put it that way.
I don't know that it's scary, but geriatric we think
of much older. But I think I knew women in
(47:15):
the eighties who were about forty one forty two having
children for the first time. And I got to think,
over the last forty years, are medical knowledge and equipment
has increased that you can you can do this now?
Clearly we know men can help reproduce until they're like
in their eighties or not. I don't know.
Speaker 8 (47:36):
Oh, I'm still I just I had analysis a couple
of years ago, and I'm still shooting off the charts. Yeah,
you know, I'm good to I'm good to go. I'm serious,
so you know, I'm I'm proud.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Ever, I've never heard of that has to be a
T shirt. I'm suiting off the charts at forty whatever.
That's awesome. Oh god, it's so funny.
Speaker 8 (47:58):
No good pump when the doctor told me that.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
Yeah, well that that's good. Well, congratulations and shooting off
the charts. Josh Allen seems to be shooting off the
charts as well. On the football field. Uh yeah, I
mean they're they're they look good. If the defense can
hold up, we don't have to any injuries. I don't
know who.
Speaker 8 (48:19):
I think the biggest take the biggest takeaway from last
week is this coming week, either the Ravens or the
Chiefs are going to be one in three and I
think the Bills just are going to just own the
a f C. I mean, they essentially could have a
three game lead on uh, the number one seed in
the a FC, and I think that is just massive.
(48:41):
Plus they can gain another one, you know against the
Chiefs in you know, another four weeks. So I mean
that's just monster.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
It is so when you look at is it the
Chiefs Ravens in Week four? Yes, that's so. That's a
game where I'll ask you, uh, I don't know if
it's one you you've examined or not, but I would
say one, you'd want the Chiefs to lose. And I
(49:09):
know everybody's going, well, you don't want to see Lamar again.
I'm like, yeah, but they seem to have their issues.
I'd like to see them beat. The Chiefs have been
the Bills nemesis, not the Ravens. I know they had
been close, but do you understand what I'm saying?
Speaker 8 (49:23):
Yea, I agree because the Chiefs, I think even are
a team that even if they lose three or even
four in a row, they could still rip off then ten.
Like they're just that team Mahomes is that guy read?
Speaker 1 (49:34):
You know?
Speaker 8 (49:35):
They just had the nucleus to be able to do that.
Where the Ravens, you know, I think it's a little
different now. I know I've just been saying I thought
they were the best team, you know, in the league,
and I still think they're up there. But yes, they
have their problem big time. You know that showed Monday
night the Lions.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
I mean, look, the Lions didn't have a obviously had
a tough game against Green Bay, and yet they sacked
Lamar seven times. And it almost feels like from week
one one to week three they really put in the
work and put in the in the focus.
Speaker 8 (50:05):
So he did not have an answer for I mean
running around. He just he held the ball way too long,
which is why they got to him seven times. He
just Henry fumbled again for the third time in three games,
which I think he had three fumbles in like two seasons.
He's got He's fumbled every single game this year so far,
(50:26):
which is just nuts. So they definitely they have some
issues for sure.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Yeah, when you're looking at the games, who do you?
I guess we'll let me start with this because it's
the Buffalo Bills. I think this spread right now is
fifteen and a half? Is that accurate? Peter? By the way,
Peter said that he was on before you, and it
was actually Peter who said, and I should give Peter credit.
I don't want to be that guy. I feel like
(50:53):
Robin Williams. Robin Williams never was always accused of stealing
other guys jokes, and I knew guys who were really
friendly with Robin, and they would say, he just has
this brain and he doesn't even know he's really doing it.
So I don't I don't want to be stealing from
Peter was the one who said, I don't think you
want the Ravens the Kansas City to be the Ravens.
I think you want the Ravens to be Kansas City.
(51:14):
And that was sort of his theory, and I agree.
But tell me about that. That seems like a really
high spread and one that may come down.
Speaker 8 (51:24):
I don't think it could go because I said this
last week when the Dolphins game, I think ballooned up
to twelve. I said, I never take double digits in
the NFL. And they covered the Dolphins covered, Yeah they did,
So I mean that's fifteen. I mean the Saints I
think are terrible, one of, if not the worst team
in the league, and they start super slow. So if anything,
(51:45):
I would take the Bills first quarter or first half
and just get it over with because I think this
is a game where Josh Allen doesn't even step on
the field in the fourth quarter, I think they're up
thirty eight ten or thirty eight three, and you know,
just kind of cruise, you know, run the ball, get
out of there, you know, unscathed, no injuries. But at
(52:06):
the same time, fifteen points, I mean you're just asking
for a back door cover. I mean, you could be
up twenty twenty one and all it takes is one
hundred come down meaningless. Yeah, play garbage in garbageel Yeah,
I'm staying away for that for sure. I can't even
find a money line on it, which would be like,
(52:27):
I don't know, probably like twelve hundred to win a
hundred bucks or something just for them. I mean, I
don't think there's any way in hell the Bills lose
that game. But I don't like the fifteen and a half.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
There is a game that I find very interesting. Uh
it's Sunday one o'clock. It's the Browns and the Lions.
And here's why I find it interesting. The Browns defense
is legit.
Speaker 8 (52:50):
They're awesome.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
That defense is legit. And the Lions defense is we
saw it against the Ravens. I mean, they they held
Henry they you know, he fumbled again and they got
to Lamar seven times. I don't know what the spread
is on this. I feel like it could be a
low scoring game, big time.
Speaker 8 (53:09):
I like the under underdal four and a half right now,
and I guarantee that comes down to like forty two,
forty three.
Speaker 3 (53:15):
Okay, by time.
Speaker 8 (53:16):
Monday hits, that's gonna be under slugfest big time, thirteen three,
thirteen to six, something like that. It's gonna be low
scoring because it's a shame the Browns don't have an offense,
because that defense is legit. I mean what they've done
to Love last week, getting that upset. You know, Burrow
couldn't do a thing on them. They're playing good their offense,
(53:39):
they just have nothing, which you know they're in these
low scoring slugfest games.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Yeah, another one that I find intriguing at one o'clock.
And it's only because I you know, they've been able
to eke these games out. But I believe they're one
of the ten teams that are three and oher at
this point in the season. And that's the Bucks going
up against the Eagles. But there's something about Baker Mayfield
(54:04):
that that motherfucker is a baller. Man. He is a
baller and I don't know that he has the most
skill or the most athleticism. He was the number one
overall pick, the same draft Josh Allen was in, but
and certainly their career pass have been a little bit different. However,
(54:25):
he's I mean, Baker is like, God damn it, he will.
Speaker 8 (54:31):
They became the first team to win three games off
the final drive. Yeah, they very well could be zero
to three, but they're not. They're three at all. And
good teams find a way to win.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
They just they do.
Speaker 8 (54:43):
And which is I think what Tampa Bay's doing. That
being said, I mean there've also had some luck, which
you know, to win those games, all these close games,
everything's got to go on your side. So that'll be
I think that's very interesting and if anything, I would
be inclined to take them. I think they're getting three
and a half. I like that a lot in uh
(55:05):
in Tampa, Yeah, on Monday or Sunday, So that's.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Kind of a So that's sort of a push then,
right if they're I mean you're talking really a half
point because you get three points for being home. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (55:16):
So and I think you know, the heat, especially down
in Tampa, the heat, you know, with teams that aren't
used to that, you know, humidity could be a factor.
So yeah, and the Eagles, the Eagles got so lucky.
I mean they were down twenty I think twenty six
to seven against the Rams. I remember that was my pick. Yeah,
and they and to lose that on a block field goal.
(55:39):
I mean, that's that's just unheard. All they had to
do was either miss the field goal, make the field goal,
or you know, block it and just if they don't return,
they covered the Rams cover that three.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Weren't there two brutal beat there were two blocks in
that game? Correct?
Speaker 8 (55:55):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (55:55):
Yeah, here's the thing that that's interesting, And this is
where the game is change. And I'm saying this with
Peter and I think it's just amazing way technology is
used to see the game film after the game. Now
you see the game film during the game with the
iPad and I don't know the name of the Eagle
player who is a big behemoth who scooped up the ball,
(56:18):
blocked it, scooped it up and ran it in. He said,
we were seeing a tendency with the kicker when we
watched the iPad. I go, God, this is amazing. What's happening.
And you know, it's become such a chess game in
the NFL, you know, because honestly, I always joke juice.
You know, do you know how good you have to
(56:40):
be to suck at the NFL level? Right to go
watch it? Oh my god, So you aren't talking like
you know you could have great players. I mean, look,
the Buffalo Bills for years had great players. I mean
look through Mario Williams to you know, the Beast Mode,
(57:01):
all these guys, they were all a Buffalo Bill at
one point. If you just can't put it together, it
takes good. It takes coaching beyond that. And as I'm
watching this, I go, I don't know, when you're watching
the film during the game and seeing these tendencies, that's
great coaching. Yeah, that's right, coach.
Speaker 8 (57:19):
Where back in the day they used to just have
like a screenshot and bring it down and say, hey,
this is the formation. But now you said you're you're
watching a Hey this is how they lined up. He
went this way, this guy went this way. Yeah, and
they just right on the fly.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
Yeah, get your hand up because he, you know, seems
to curve it to the right. Get that hand up.
And the man, that big old ball got in there
and knocked it down.
Speaker 8 (57:39):
Well, speaking of the tendencies, I don't know if you
saw this, but the the Bucks just signed this guy.
His name is Desmond Watson. He's four hundred and fifty pounds.
They're calling him the push Push Stopper. I think they
bring just to it'll be interesting and see how the
teams follow suit with this. This dude is a massive unit,
(58:02):
just a blop. So put him right up there and
have him just fall into the line. I mean, that's
that's something to.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
Human being. Oh my god, that's it's amazing. All right.
What else do you like this week? Because I know
I've done a lot of the one o'clock games, but
there's I mean some interesting games later there is you
know what also.
Speaker 8 (58:23):
Is cool and you'll like this the first ever game
being played in Ireland.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
Oh yeah, morning, Yes, you know what that is? Uh
one I overlooked in Pittsburgh. Yeah that's uh nine thirty am.
What do you think of that one?
Speaker 8 (58:38):
Guinness will uh be drunk in that stadium.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
I last year I was supposed to go to see
the Bills in England. I think it was last year,
and we were going to fly to Ireland first, and
then I backed out of the trip.
Speaker 8 (58:51):
I don't know, push, I'm not big on these international games,
especially going to them, I have no desire. But the
Ireland one I think think would be cool. I would
I think that would there would be something cool about seeing.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
There would be I agree that. I yeah, I think
you're right. I think that would be. Who do you
like in this one? Because the Vikings who's playing quarterback
for them?
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Now Wentz?
Speaker 8 (59:16):
Carson Wentz?
Speaker 3 (59:17):
It is Carson Wentz. Okay, and yeah, who do you
like in this one? I would almost speak to the Steelers.
Speaker 8 (59:23):
But I would tend to lean Minnesota and would Okay, well, again,
those those early morning games you know overseas, take it
under and I think it's at like forty one, which
is a low under anyway, which suggests that Vegas doesn't
think there will be a lot of points either. So
I kind of like, you know, I'll probably have something
on the under there Sunday morning with my eggs.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
That's pretty good, all right? I like that one. And
then let's go a little bit later, but we'll look
at one of the the cults in the rams. Is
interesting because the cults.
Speaker 8 (59:59):
God, Dan Daniel Johns, I mean, who want to thought?
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Who want to funk it? Not me?
Speaker 8 (01:00:05):
Oh, I'm not not either, where where Where was that
play anywhere for the Giants other than you know, aside
from a couple of games. Uh so, Jones is just
he's forbidden in my house. I I don't even want
to put it on. I hate this season big time.
I just I can't stand up all right. But but
(01:00:25):
but so I'm on the I'm on the rams in
that one. I think, you know, it's only a matter
of time till he fucking till he sucks again. I know,
you know, and I and I knew he wasn't gonna
be any good where. It was a Monday night game.
They're playing Giants, playing the Eagles. He's got he's got
the field in front of him, nobody behind him, forty
(01:00:46):
fucking yards and he trips over himself. You remember this play?
Do you remember this? In the vicinity of within ten
yards and he just falls down, he trips and it
would have been a touchdown in It's just, you know,
he just did never fucking had it, at least for us.
And I just I always hated him. I hated the pick.
I hated it when they drafted him.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
That was a Manning pick. You know, I believe it
was the Mannings who liked him.
Speaker 6 (01:01:14):
Was it not.
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
Because he came out of do it was?
Speaker 8 (01:01:18):
It was a Dave Gettleman pick. But you know I
always kind of backed them because he thought he had
a similar game to him, very similar style, that they
looked alike. Both just you know, had that that look
to him. But you know he was just you know,
I really wish we never extended him two more years,
(01:01:39):
which set us back you know where we are now.
But that's all gonna change lights camera jack Cameron Jackson.
Hell yeah, you know, so any Giants fan should be
super And this came way sooner than I thought.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
Oh my god, what's gonna happen? Okay, since brought it up,
Russell Wilson, I keep arguing, and people who really know
football think I'm wrong, But I thought he had an
NFL caliber career before he went to Denver. NFL caliber,
NFL Hall of Fame caliber, Those are the words I
was missing in that sentence, hall of Fame caliber. Then
(01:02:20):
he goes to Denver and we know what happened there.
Then he goes to the Steelers. Now he's at the
Giants and he's benched. He's benched.
Speaker 8 (01:02:26):
I benched after three weeks. But that game Sunday night,
he threw there at the goal line and he threw
it out of bounds four straight times. Yeah, he's just
he's just not good anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
Did he ruin his chances to get in the Hall
of Fame?
Speaker 8 (01:02:42):
I think big time, he's he He'll be the first
player to play himself out. And I said this over
the summer to Danny, ask him, okay, I told him this,
We're out, and I said that Russell Wilson will be
the first player because if you if he stopped his
career in Seattle, he's a Hall of Famer, no doubt.
But even his last year and see Antle started to
go down, which is why they got rid of them.
(01:03:04):
And then Denver was just fucking horrible. Pittsburgh no good
in three games with the Giants. No Giants are paying
them ten million dollars. So yes, he is not.
Speaker 7 (01:03:15):
He is not.
Speaker 8 (01:03:15):
Uh that that Dallas game was just a fucking tease.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Who's gonna who's gonna try to trade for him?
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
Though?
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
There are that because I'm seeing articles the three landing
spots for Russell Wilson, Like, wait a second, he's not
even his ass hasn't really hit the bench. Yet guys,
what are we doing?
Speaker 8 (01:03:32):
No? And who wants I mean it could be the Bengals.
I mean they need uh Browning did not look very
good someday.
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Yeah, and they have.
Speaker 8 (01:03:41):
Kind of the nucleus, especially if they just start looking
if Burrow does indeed come back later in the year,
and if they're still in playoff contention, you figure that
they would want to make a play at somebody. But
they're so fucking cheap that you know, who knows if
they even care. If they just say, oh, we'll go
with him. We're paying Joe all this money already, just
you know, screw it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Yeah, that makes that makes sense. All right, give me
some your lock or your picks that you really well.
Speaker 8 (01:04:08):
I will say, just to piggyback on that Giants plus
six and a half, that's not my lock of the week.
But I do like the Giants big time to cover
that game, Okay, because whenever there's a new quarterback in
the defenses can't really prepare for him. So there's a
lot of uncertainty. And I think just with Dart and
new regiment and offense, I just think the Giants just
are going to have a new life. And I really
(01:04:30):
think they can get close to that number that they
might not win, but I think they could certainly keep
it close. So I like six and a half at
home big time. And my lock of the week is
this is an ugly one, but it's Atlanta plus three.
Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
Wow, Atlanta plus three yep? Okay, and.
Speaker 8 (01:04:56):
Hang on where the is is?
Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
That's the commanders and the commanders of ben I don't
know if they've met the expectations that many people have fought.
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
Nope.
Speaker 8 (01:05:05):
And Daniels is still he doesn't know if he's gonna go.
He's trying everything he can to get on the field.
But more so I just think Atlanta, Yeah, they just
lost thirty to nothing, which is why it's an ugly
fucking pick. They lost thirty to nothing to Carolina, but
they outgained them by one hundred and twenty yards. That
was just a fluky game. Yeah, So I just think
the I think they bounced back big time. Remember I
(01:05:27):
think Danny said last week the hangover where a team
gets fucking throttled. Then they came back the next week,
and I think this is the spot Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Okay, and who I sounded like he had more than one.
Speaker 8 (01:05:39):
Who's that for a locks.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Yeah, I thought you said. I don't know why. I
felt like there was the.
Speaker 8 (01:05:45):
Giants we got both the unders in and I also
like the like the Patriots minus five and a half.
Patriots have been playing some good ball.
Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Yeah they have, which is disturbing, but yes they have.
And has anybody taken Dallas in the Green Bay game?
Speaker 8 (01:06:04):
No, oh, that's gonna be a uh in with that
Wilson thing. I think that that game there said more
about the Dallas defense than Russell Wilson. They are bad,
they are and they got issues and Ceedee Lamb's not playing,
he's out, so they're they're a freaking mess. They could
(01:06:25):
finish last in the NFC East. I would not be surprised,
which is crazy. Jerry would fucking lose it. I know
he hasn't already.
Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
All Right, Well, Juice, good stuff. We'll check with you
next week. I think last week you were pretty much
uh had a winning What what no I got?
Speaker 8 (01:06:44):
I got fucking slammed? Well, I lost on the I
lost on that rams. Then the the Niners. That was
the lock and they lost the cover because it was
a holding penalty in the end zone, so it cost
a safety which only made it that they only won
by one, so that was I had a couple of
just bad fucking beats. But we're gonna get those weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
You're gonna get those weeks. We bounced back right and
me and me and my boys say we're beat but
not beaten. That's right right, back, beat but not beaten.
I love it all right. Well, I hope you get
some sleep tonight and throughout the weekend with the baby,
and as always, good stuff, Juice. We'll talk to you
next week.
Speaker 8 (01:07:22):
No appreciate you having me on man. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
All right, there you go, and we will wrap it
up tomorrow. I think I have to do a solo one.
I don't know. We got sick for Juice, for Peter
who is in Vegas. For Madge Madigan, please check out
the Madge Unmuted podcast and it'll come out frid rates
er fourth season. I'm Bill Moran. We'll see you tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (01:07:51):
I woke up in cold to you, didn't know what
to do.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
I'm turning on TV.
