Speaker 1 (00:01):
He's got a jealous attitude.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
He's mad because God is merciful. He's upset because God
would raise up somebody he knew something about.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
He doesn't have filthy flesh. But if you don't know
anybody like that, I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
But some people who's got a filthyare.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
This Sister pot.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Hello, I am Sarah Jakes, and you are watching the
Potters Touch. Today we have a tdj's classic, or as
I like to call it, a throwback. This message is
for anyone who is facing a silent frustration. Sometimes you
never know what someone is facing on the inside, whether
it's you or someone you know. This message is gonna
(01:02):
encourage you. Take a look at this.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
We need to get back to getting in the Word
of God and feeding ourselves and let the pastor come
along and confirm the truth that you have been studying it.
If the word is so much richer, when when it's
confirmation down in your soul. And I think it's dangerous
just to allow uh every revelation to come from the
(01:26):
pulpit without some being birthed in your own spirit. When
Jesus begins to minister in this particular instance, he ministers
a parable not just a Bible story, not just a
Sunday school lesson, not just a class for those who
would like to be enriched with some concept or philosophy
(01:48):
or theological dissertation. But he speaks to us that we
might be able to extract from the story principles for
godly living principles. It's not enough to have the storyline
and the continuity of the text if you cannot draw
from the knowledge of the text, the wisdom of the texts.
(02:12):
It is actually the wisdom of the text that becomes
applicable for your own life. Without the wisdom, you are
just full of information, but you have no revelation to
apply the information that you have collected. And so when
he speaks to us, he speaks to us about a
certain man that had two sons. In the eleventh person, he.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Says, and a certain man had two sons.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
Is that right? I believe that's what he says.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
He says, a certain man had two sons, And the
younger of them said to his father, father, give me
the portions of goods that falleth to me. Father, give
me the portion of goods that faleth to me. So
he divided onto them his living One of them asked
(03:08):
for it, but both of.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
Them got it.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
That's interesting all by itself. Our problem is we become
so preoccupied with the flaws and the failures and the
fallacies of the younger son that we fail to appreciate
the struggles of the elder son. It is indicative of
a spiritual disease that is eating up the mentality of
(03:35):
the church, because we are so involved in dealing with
obvious sins that we never start dealing with the inobvious,
abstract sins. And whereas we are being perfected in regards
to habits and things that we used to do, we
aren't doing anymore. There are still a whole generation of
(03:57):
sins that are clustered in the us of our hearts,
that go unchecked, because nobody deals with sins of the spirit.
But in sucking Corinthians SEVEI to one, it tells us,
in fact the challenges us, saying, having therefore these precious promises,
(04:18):
no doubt about it, we do have them.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
It is given to us by grace.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
It does not withhold the promise on the basis of
our integrity or our spiritual development. The promise has already
been allocated. Having therefore these precious promises, let us cleanse
ourselves from the filthiness of the flesh and the spirit.
In other words, he's saying, since God is going to
(04:45):
give you so much, and he has already told you
what He's going to do in your life, then the
least you could do is to prepare your heart and
your life so that you are ready to receive what
God has for you. Look at someone and tell them
(05:09):
God has something for me. You have to know that.
You just have to know that.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
You have to walk in that, you have to drive
to work, telling yourself where I am isn't as important
as where.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
I'm going, because if you don't keep that burning brightly
in your life, you will become distracted by the noise
and the cumbersome winds and destructions of adversities, promise and
enemies will cause you to look to this way and that,
(05:45):
and you will spin on all of your energy trying
to deal with something that you're going to pass through anyway.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
My mind to one is if you can't fix it,
out limit me.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
If you're just keep on living.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
It's going to fall off of you after while. You
don't even have to fix everything.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Just keep living, Just keep living.
Speaker 7 (06:08):
Just, and it comes from understanding that you have a
promise a promise, and you begin to cleanse not only
the filthiness of the flesh, but the filthiness of your spirit.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Stinking thinking, negative attitudes, mentalities that are hindering you from
reaching your zeno in the spirit every week, not just
the sin, but every weight that does so easily besets you.
Procrastination and low self esteem, pity parties and mood swings
(06:48):
and everything that's hindering you from walking into the full
vestor of what God has.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
God has something for you.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
He brought you here to like, to antalize you, to
draw you, to pull you in, to awaken you to
the reality that many, many, many of the things that
you are worrying about are not even important, because God
is about.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
To explode in your life. He's about to go off
in your life.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
He's about to detonate in your life. He's about to
set your light on fire. And you're worried about something
that don't even matter. Person, I said, don't even matter it,
don't even don't.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
They don't don't don't don't don't don't either. You're not
going what are you up to set about?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Who are you mad, Why are you walking around upside?
This young man will have to control, he said. I
(07:57):
know I've got it. I'm exposed to it, but I
want control of it.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Put it up under my power, Give me my portion
so I can do what I want to do, when
I want to do it, how I.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Want to do it.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
He was thirsty to get the control of his life.
He thought he knew better than his father of what
ought to be done. He said, give it to me
so I can spend it the way I want to
spend it, without having accountability and having to live up
under your rules. And give it to me so I
can I can go and do my own thing when
when when I want to do it, because I have
(08:32):
more respect for my opinion than I do your opinion,
and I want to do it my way.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
I'm a burger king baby.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
I want to have it my way. What's the problem
with this God?
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yes, that's a but, but I came to defend him.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
I'm tired of people talking about him.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Nah.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
I know, I know it doesn't look good on him,
But the church always has a habit to pick on
people who have filthiness.
Speaker 8 (09:08):
Of the flesh in any time.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
It's a problem that we can see.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Because we love things that we can readily see with
our eye, we don't have any trouble talking about somebody
who's got a weakness in an area we can see.
And I know I'm not excusing him. I'm not trying
to excuse him. I'm not trying to get him apart.
And I recognize that he had some problems. He did.
He got a hold to the wealth and he couldn't
(09:35):
handle it. He's spent it. He spent all of his stuff.
He spent all of his substance, which I believe is
more than money.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
He spent his integrity and his self esteem and his affluence.
Speaker 8 (09:49):
He spent his poise. He spent his dignity. He spentish masculinity.
He spent his integrity. He spent the stuff that makes
you walk with your head up in your backstraight. He
spentished tough. He was just going to a basement. He
was going down to nothing, he was being reduced.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Down to his lord's common de nomine. And I know
all that he.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Did all of that, and I understand that when he
had spent all their rules of famine in the land,
but that wasn't anything but conditions picking on him, because
the enemy knows that he cannot sin.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Of famine when you've got food.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
He waits till you're broke, busted and disgusted. And when
you're at your loan moment, that's when he starts showing off.
That's that's when your kids start acting crazy. That's when
you get the layoff noted. So that's when your family
starts acting sidy. When you had a low moment, when
it because the devil knows had As long as you
in the house, he can't do nothing to you. He
can't do nothing with you as long as you're praise
(10:43):
to God and blessing God and lifted him up. He
can't do nothing with you as long as you're clapping
your hands and majoy. So he waits till you're broke,
busted and disgusted, tide and defeated and at the end
of your own and when you spent.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
All, he attacks her. He attacks your.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
He attacks her. Oh, but that's three people until him.
Stay in the house, stay, stay stay, stay in the house.
All you got to do is stay in the house. Stay,
stay in the house. It might not feel good, but
stay in the house. You might be lorded by. Stay
in the house. May not have no husband, but stay
in the house. May not even have a boyfriend, but stay.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Stay.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Say say not to the else. Stay.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
He attached himself to a citizen of that country, and
he sent him in the field to feed swine. I
understand that, and I am embarrassed about that, and I
apologize for that, and he shouldn't have done it. But
I like him.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I came to defend him. I came to defend him
because he is a man of action. The same thing
that made him very bad also makes him very good.
He was a man of accent. He was not the
(11:59):
kind of man.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Who sat back and looked at what he wanted and
didn't go after it, whether it was good or bad.
If he wanted and he went after it. That's why,
rather than to keep trying to recycle some of these
old church folks, I'd rather get some old rock gut
center that we pulled up out of the sewer, because
when they get saved, they go after God with the passion.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Why you sitting up fixing.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Your hat and doing your nails and trying to look
cute for the gabber. They'll lay prostrate in the floor
and start crying in the Holy gird because they're so
glad to be in the number. They just as howel
Jesus as they was on crack. They're just so glad
that God brought them out. They don't care who's looking
at him. They didn't care who was looking at him
when they was drunk and shorting of God.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
They don't care who's looking at him.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Mouth ah, well, bless the Lord at all time, his
great lay, pride, the read.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Look at somebody, say, I don't care what something.
Speaker 9 (13:07):
Still to come on the potter's touch.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
They don't care who sits on the right side or
who sits on the left side.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
They're just glad to be a child.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
You ain't seen nobody dance till you see somebody dance.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Who knows. They should have been dead and gone, could.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Have lost their mind, could have been struck out on ads,
good old dead in the street, could have died in
the prorect, could have been in jail.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
What God, who is rich and mercy look beyond.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
You have no idea what I mean?
Speaker 10 (13:38):
Cant city until frustration. You've had enough?
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Are you speaking to the people instead of speaking to
the rocks? Are you carrying your frustration to the people
you love when you are to be speaking to the
rock and feeding the people you love.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
I thought I would be other than this by now.
I thought I would have my life together. The frustration
comes to what you thought. No more bruisings are necessary.
It's in the word. The water you need is in
the word. The thirst you have is in the word.
The healing is in the word. You don't have to
go through changes. You don't have to go through CRUCIFIXI.
(14:20):
You don't have to bleed for it. You don't have
to work for it. You don't have to sweat for it.
All you got to do is hear the word.
Speaker 10 (14:26):
Healing starts today. Order enough when you visit our website
or call one eight hundred Bishop too.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
When he got in the mud, he fought him stuff out.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
He didn't wait on anybody to evangelize him out.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
He didn't wait on anybody to pray him out.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
He didn't wait on anybody to throw their coat on
him or blowing his ear pat him on the head
with some more. But he started thinking down in him
said wait a minute, I'm better answer. Oh, you don't
need nobody to lose your baby. You gotta lose yourself.
I die you to get it in your mind. I'm
better than their sir. I don't know where I'm going,
but I'm getting out again.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
This mealy mouthed it, weak lifted, indecisive, procrastinating, self righteous, hypocritical.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Brother. Oh I know he doesn't have any filthiness of
the flesh, a bud, He's gotta filthy speed.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Oh, I'm coming after him tonight.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
A fish spearios.
Speaker 8 (16:10):
There.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
He is sitting in the house wanting everything that the
other brother did, but wouldn't make a move. The Bible
said the younger brother went to.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
His father and asked him for the portion of goods
that fell to him, and the father divided unto them
his living. Now, this elder brother has something that he
hasn't asked for.
Speaker 6 (16:42):
A problem with him.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
He's nice, and he's neat, and he's all.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Dressed up and his hair is combed, and he understands
church protocol in church order. He knows who to honor
and who to recognize. He knows who the top ten
preachers are. He knows who's on the top ten of
the gospel charge. He knows everything about social services. He
knows everything about church services. He knows everything about everything.
Speaker 6 (17:07):
But my problem with him.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
He's too quiet.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
He's just a lid, too.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Quid. He's a dreamer, but he's not a lover. He's
a wanna bee, but he doesn't know how to make
it happen.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
He wishes he could, but he doesn't, and he walks
through life.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Silently, silence, going through the motions.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
He didn't leave when the younger brother left.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
He stayed at home. He's been in the church a
long time. It's just that he doesn't do anything while
he's there. No accomplishment, no results, going through the motions,
(18:26):
working in the house.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Form of godliness, no power.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
No, he doesn't even speak through the bulk of the story.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
He doesn't have enough faith to ask for his goods
or enough grace to say thank you when he gets
He's numb, he's pleasant, he's weak, he's mundane, and he
(19:08):
doesn't say anything.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Until his brother gets blessed again.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
He can't stand to see his brother blessed.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
He's got a filthish spirit, he's got a jealous attitude.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
He's mad because God is merciful. He's upset because God
would raise up somebody.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
He knew something about.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Why he doesn't have filthy bless But maybe you.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Don't know anybody like that.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
But some people who got a filthy stair.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
And the moment you start to get blessed, now they
got a problem. The prodigal son comes home, gets his ring,
(20:33):
gets his robe, gets his cabin.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
And throws apart.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Ain't no kind of party like the party that goes
on in somebody's life. Who knows they had no right
to be blessed. They know they don't deserve to be blessed.
They not sitting back trying to argue over who's.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Gonna be the president of the willing to work and
the willing to get up out of the bed, and
the willing to go on committe.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
They just glad to be saved.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
They don't care who sits on the right side or
who sits on the left side.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
They're just glad to be a child.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
You ain't seen nobody dance till you see somebody there
who knows they should have been dead and gone, could
have lost their mind, could have been struck out on
as good old deed in the street, could have died
in the car wreck, could have been in jail. But God,
who is rich in mercy, look beyond. Don't your neighbor
(21:33):
tell him he's talking about me. Now he's talking.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
He's talking, he's talking about me.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
He's talking about me. Glad to be in the number.
Glad that I'm in shirt. Glad, I'm not looking for
the dope man tonight. Glad, I'm not cruising down the street.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Glad.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
I'm not in the murge that say wrong. I'm just glad.
I'm just glad.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Cut your neighbor behind you telling me, excuse me, but
I'm throwing a party. I'm I'm just I'm throwing a
party to night. My role is having a party.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Cut out over the mind's house. Come come, come, come, come.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, cut over.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
But when elder brother heard.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
The sound of the party, he's not glad. Have you
ever got blessed? And I couldn't find anybody that was
glad for you?
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Have you ever?
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Maybe not you, but have you ever got a blessing
or got a miracle and wanted to pick up the
phone and tell somebody but your thumb? You know, when
you can't sign. Nobody that's glad for you, nobody that's
gonna celebrate you don't cancel the party because you ain't
(23:21):
got no intender. Throw your own party. Make y'alln cake,
light you up some tenders. Put your head on that
blow your whistle, and I say this since today that
the lord is made.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Well well, well, well, well that time.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Look at the name and tell them I'm having the
party anyway.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I invited some folks and they didn't come. But I'm
having the party anyway. I see your rolling your eyes, baby,
but I'm having the party anyway.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
I know you've been talking about the girl, but I'm
having the party.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Anyway, raising my children by myself. But I'm gonna have
this party anyway. Oh yes, I have to lock it
through too much. I ain't canceling no party. I cried
for this party. I prayed for this party.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
I crawled. Not no walk away.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
We're coming right back right after this.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
You have no idea what I'm reading. I can't take
this anymore.
Speaker 10 (24:45):
Tell frustration you've had enough?
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Are you speaking to the people instead of speaking to
the rocks? Are you carrying your frustration to the people
you love when you are to be speaking to the
ro and feeding the people you love.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
I thought I.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
Would be further than this. By now, I thought I
would have my life together. Frustration comes to what you thought.
No more bruisings are necessary. It's in the word. The
water you need is in the word. The thirst you
have is in the word. The healing is in the word.
You don't have to go through changes. You don't have
to go through crucifix. You don't have to bleed for it.
(25:26):
You don't have to work for it. You don't have
to sweat for it. All you got to do is
hear the word.
Speaker 10 (25:31):
Healing starts today. Order enough when you visit our website
or call one eight hundred Bishop to.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
The prayer that you're trying to articulate.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
He already understands the condition that you can't find the
words to describe.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
God already knows.

I lifted up and it looked down Mamas in one room.
Speaker 9 (26:47):
You were in another room yelling at God.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I think that it is the brevity of life itself
that makes every second so important. And I think that
Heaven is for real. Not only reminds us about Heaven,
but it reminds us about Earth as well. That whatever
you want to say to someone, you should say it now,
and when you love someone, you should love them now,
because so many times we bury inside of ourselves things
(27:11):
we would like to say, thinking we'll have another day.
And I have learned from personal experience that tomorrow is
not promised you.
Speaker 8 (27:18):
We need to get in surgery right away.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
The pain that I suffered watching my son how close
to death.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
We're in trouble here.
Speaker 9 (27:26):
He's much worse.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
You call some friends and pay for him.
Speaker 10 (27:31):
The hospital staff said that your son was not expected
to survive, used the word miracle.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Your son had a near death experience. He saw things
that I can't really explain.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
If you're anything like me, that message has refueled your spirit.
Thank you guys so much for giving us an opportunity
to clear our vision. Now help us to take hold
of the purpose that you have for our lives. If
it was for Bishop's Circle and Aaron's Army, we would
not have been able to deliver this message to you today.
Thank you so much for your continued support of the ministry.
(28:10):
Because of you, millions of people are finding the will
of God in their lives. We couldn't have done it
without you. I hope you'll join us here next time
on the Potters Coach.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
This is the pow
