We'll analyze the outcome of today's game and take a
look at other scores around the country. Call into the
show with your reaction at seven oh one or seven

Build a future, Building the future. Apply today. Now let's

(02:53):
go live to Applebee's on sixteenth Street North. Here's Brad Jones.

Speaker 9 (03:00):
What else Style points may matter in the regular season
and the postseason. All that matters is moving on. NDSU
will do that with a fifty one to thirty one
victory over a game Abilene Christian Wildcat squad who came
in got up early, but unable to hang with the
Bison through four quarters. Brad Jones here with you, along
with Jay Cava and Chris Hansen, as we get your

(03:23):
reaction to NDSU once again, every single year that the
Bison have made the FCS playoffs, they have made it
out of the second round, and do so again today.
We want to get your reaction as well. Seven oh
one four seven six sixteen sixty. Give us a call.
You can text that number as well, and we'll review
what was We'll call it a busy game. Anytime you
see eighty two points put up on the board, there's

(03:45):
gonna be some some things to talk about. Let's start
with the good. We're a positive group here. We're gonna
start with the good. Jake, what were you most excited
about with the game today?

Speaker 7 (03:55):
I love the oftense. Scored a lot of points.

Speaker 10 (03:57):
You know, Cammeller just keeps doing cam Miller's off, which
become so accustomed to that sometimes just kind of don't
appreciate as much as you should. I think Brayln Henderson
had a good game, obviously. I think he'd like to
get that one back he dropped in the first quarter,
but made up for it later in the game with
a big catch. And then you know, defensively, I thought
we got some turnovers.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Was good. Logan cop played really well.

Speaker 10 (04:20):
But yeah, I say, I'll stay just on the good side. Yeah,
there's a lot to pass.

Speaker 9 (04:25):
You had to pause there, I had to pause, mister positivity,
Chris Hansen in the house.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Jackson Williams, that was I mean, it's too much to say,
but that might have been a kick return to save
the game.

Speaker 7 (04:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Now NDYSU might have gone down and scored on that drive.
Who knows. But at that point it was seventeen to
three to start the and there were mouths that were
wide open all over the Fargo Dome, and that seemed
like it energized not only the crowd, but it energized
the team. You could see that. And I don't know
what it was a two week layoff with Thanksgiving. I

(04:57):
don't know what it became. You would more than that
of what that two week break is like.

Speaker 9 (05:02):
But it took a little.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
While to get rolling. But Jackson Williams one hundred yard kickoff,
guy behind me screaming no, no, no, no, go, go go.
So that was that was my my big positive moment
of the game to switch the momentum.

Speaker 10 (05:15):
Yeah, it's always tough, you know, when coming off a
kind of extended by a week get a week off
and another whole week before you play. You would hope
that going into a playoff game that you would kind
of avoid that lull, just knowing that if you go
out and lane ag like you're done. But yeah, it's
always tough, you know. I think it sometimes I say like, oh,
I can play if you have that.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
Buy like you come out like slow.

Speaker 9 (05:38):
Obviously Andy Suit did.

Speaker 10 (05:39):
But I'm always going to be one that get the
guys out their feet and stay healthy rather than you know,
maybe keep playing and stay hot.

Speaker 9 (05:45):
But yeah, that it was a sleep before good a
little bit.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
Tailgate was sleepy tail We were Jake.

Speaker 9 (05:51):
And I were out doing game day in the tailgate lot,
and it was it was a quieter day, that's that's
for sure. Ten three hundred and change was the announced attendance.
But that Jackson william player or the Will's play that,
I mean, it felt like that was what Indias you
needed to get that jolt of all right, we're here,
let's get down to business. Because you look, but prior

(06:13):
to that, in the first half, not a lot of highlights.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
No, no, it was it was very rough going from
the beginning. It just seemed like kind of like a
slow motion, just feet in the cement, just trodden through
the snow. And I said all week with Chris John
and Corey in the morning on Bob ninety five AFM,
there's my one tag like that, I said all week long,
and I and I got accused of just trying to
sell tickets. I said, this team scares me more than

(06:37):
either Mercer or Rhode Island getting into the next round.
Like at this point, I'm like, bring on SDSU because
this was a game an unknown team from an unknown
conference with really you know, nothing to.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
Lose, right, good quarterback obviously we saw that exactly.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Like he was a Walter Payton finalist guy twenty nine
and five on the year for touchdowns and interceptions. Dude
can throw the ball stud wide receivers. Today they ran
the ball better than I thought they would. So hats
off to uh Abilene Christian They they played well today,
well for a half.

Speaker 9 (07:12):
Yeah, on paper, coming in they were a balanced team.
They had a thousand yard rusher coming in as well.
You mentioned the two receivers they got. I believe both
receivers now over one thousand yards. They did get both
receivers over a thousand yards on the season. They they
gave NDSU everything they could handle, for sure. So all right,
before we get to the phones, let's pause ten seconds
for station identification here on Bison Hotline q.

Speaker 8 (07:35):
W B West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead and KPFX HD three
Kindred sixteen sixty Chevrolet Cadillac in Fargo.

Speaker 9 (07:45):
Bison Hotline live from Applebe's here across from the Fargo Dome.
Brad Jones, Jacava, Chris Hansen, and we head to the
All Star Construction Hotline, where we are joined by the
Icon in Fargo. Icon. Thanks so much for calling, gentlemen.

Speaker 11 (07:58):
You know, I was I thought I would loan in
the park of Dome for the longest time. Where was
everybody today? Uh we were there anyway it would, yes,
But I have a feeling though that uh next week
it'll be a little uh it'll be a little more
rock and you know, everybody coming off the holiday season.
But uh that's usually what happens around uh after the thanksgimming.

(08:19):
But hey, real quick here, you know, I uh I
will always uh love Phill Hanson, but I thought that
some of his grades were a little off. Uh uh
the uh the defense had a little issue at the beginning,
but let's talk about real quick here, Cam Miller, guys
at the we you know, we talked about the flow start,

(08:41):
but if they put up the stats after a halftime,
I believe it was we had scored a total of
three touchdowns with only uh let's see, let me remain,
let me refocus here, we had three.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
We scored three.

Speaker 11 (09:00):
Touchdowns in thirteen plays. I mean, that's unheard of. So
I'll have you guys talk a little bit about that.

Speaker 12 (09:09):
And they also flashed.

Speaker 11 (09:10):
The set on the on the screen comparing cam Miller
this year to Trey Lance and Night in twenty nineteen,
and the only difference is one interception. Trey had none,
Cam's had one. So I'll have you guys talk about that,

(09:31):
and also tell us what you guys know about Mercer
because I've never heard of those guys before. I appreciate
you guys.

Speaker 12 (09:38):
Thank you to take care.

Speaker 9 (09:39):
All right, thanks for the call icon. Yeah, two interceptions
now for cam Miller with the with the one today
which was, I mean, he bought as fluky as your guy,
yet that.

Speaker 10 (09:48):
Might be the stiffest defensive end in the entire country.
That guy had not a whole lot of bend to him.
But Hey, one more.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Interception and you gotta respect the tackle. Yeah, he nicked himself,
He definitely he reached for his back immediately as soon
as he hit the ground. Do you make a business
decision there and just I know, not letting them.

Speaker 9 (10:12):
It's like a pitcher. If you're gonna get into a
bar fight, don't punch with your pitching hand. He threw
his right shoulder. You don't throw your shoulder on the tackle,
you know.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
I mean he probably could have brought.

Speaker 10 (10:22):
I mean, it's so hard in the heat of the
battle to like make a decision this way to protect myself.
But you know, those quarterbacks, they always think they're the
best athletes in the world. So it's kind of funny
to see them go out there and try to tackle
someone every once in a while, like, oh it's easy,
Like all right, it looks.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
Like a good.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Go for the middle of the leg there and hope
for the best.

Speaker 9 (10:41):
You know. And and the other point that icon made
it with getting Camm so many and the Bison so
many scoring plays so quickly. That is a senior quarterback,
especially you get to the back end of a half.
That makes it so much easier when you have that poise.
You have that steady leadership knowing what his guys can do.

Speaker 10 (11:00):
I'm Jake Landry can trust Cam with those situations. You know,
you see you get later in a half and you're
gonna be pushing the ball down the field. With a
lot of younger quarterbacks that kind of sometimes the leashes
is long, so to say so the coordinator's coaches don't
trust them with Cam Miller. I mean, Paul second Lander,
like you have the entire offense at any point in
the game, doesn't matter if we're up by fifty, down

(11:20):
by fifty, just let Cam go.

Speaker 7 (11:22):
So I think that just shows you know, you're able
to do some stuff and ends.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Of halfs Yeah, and you want to see him take
care of himself. I think that quarterback run has been
dialed back intentionally. And I think you know, I like
Nathan Hayes. I don't want to see Nathan Hayes until Yeah.
I don't need to see him playing any meaningful snaps.
Not that I don't love the guy, but I think
I'd rather have number seven out there for the rest.

Speaker 9 (11:46):
Of the ride back to the All Star Construction Hotline,
Mark and America joining us. Mark, thanks so much.

Speaker 12 (11:53):
Well, Hey, Jake, I know you hang out with Chris
during the game, So how was his blood pressure in
the first quarter, as since he's the elder statesman of
the Bison hotline show.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Uh, there was, there was, It was all right. I
wasn't too freaked time.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
There's only a few vanes popping on this forehead that
I saw, and.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
That might just been more of a reflection of last
night today, but we'll get to that.

Speaker 12 (12:19):
Never Well, guys, you know, I always love Phil's report card.
But what's been what's been the mantra of the Bison
throughout the years is every once in a while, the
defense has a bad game, the offense has a bad game,

(12:40):
the special teams has a bad game, and the other
two units picked them up, and we get the win,
and the win is all the matters, as ugly as
it can be. Sometimes a see on defense, this might
have been some of the best field players. We're gonna see.
We're gonna see they're the faster, skilled players. Then we'll

(13:02):
see if chak hold against South Dakota State or against
Montana State in the championship. So I don't necessarily appreciate
the see the guys did what they needed to do.
They bent, but they didn't break. But the offense was
prolific and putting up fifty one even after a little

(13:23):
bit of a slow start, I'm really happy with and
I wins a win, and that's all that matters right now.
And that's my statement on it on today's game.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
All right, Well, thank you, Mark, appreciate the call.

Speaker 12 (13:38):
Thanks Brad.

Speaker 9 (13:39):
Like we said, right off, the bat got the w
got it done. Offense was struggling. Defense early struggling a bit,
but DSU found a way as they often do, especially
at home.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yeah, and defense obviously a much better second half. But still,
you know, some of the mistackles and not for lack
of effort, of mistackles, just playmakers, like you know, in space,
you just don't have a lot of the in space
playing in the Missouri Valley, No, you know what I mean,
like exactly, And so when you're you know, running full
speed and you got playmakers, they're gonna make one Juken

(14:14):
come from the direction you just came from and run
right past you and make it look foolish.

Speaker 10 (14:18):
Yeah, And that's one thing, you know, like you said,
some of those playmates you talk about Texas speed or whatever,
they Southern speed.

Speaker 7 (14:24):
Southern speed.

Speaker 10 (14:25):
Yeah, but uh well that's definitely gonna be I think
Logan Cop kind of mentioned it in his postgame interview
with Noah that they didn't tackle all the day. They
know that there's definitely some big plays that happened because
you know bad angles bad cup, which is don't give
up the cop, don't give up the cup, yep. But
you know in a game like this where the offense
like it's not gonna kill you, now, you do that

(14:46):
and maybe we'll get in the mercer later, but not
even mercery, the game after mercer. Okay, now we're talking
that this could be a season ending mistake when you
start making some of those mistakes out there.

Time for more reaction from today's game Cury Game is
your host Andy Rickoff basis Kime Sweating.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
In the episode, Damson Williams will take it for four
yards deep back of the five ten, fifteen to twenty.
That goes Japson to the thirty kicker, the meat of
the forty. He's up the sideline, got it there. It
goes twenty ten touchdown. Whoa, he was sun out of
a cannon. Jackson Williams one hundred yard take return touchdown.

(19:54):
That's just like that North Dakota State back of the
ball game seventeen to nine.

Speaker 9 (20:00):
We talked about that during the opening segment, likely the
play of the game right there. It was everything the
Bison needed in that moment.

Speaker 7 (20:08):
Yeah, I mean back against the wall kind of or
Tarlton State.

Speaker 10 (20:12):
Wow, aveling Christian comes out, kind of punches you in
the mouth and then for you know, a freshman, true
freshman like Jackson Williams to make that play. I mean
like you could have been a season saving play potentially.
I mean, seventeen to three wasn't looking great.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
No, it certainly wasn't. As you're starting the second quarter,
like I think a lot of people were just kind
of in that shell shocked mode and you know, you
make those decisions and when you and then following that
right like the ensuing kickoff, their returner decided, well, anything
you can do, I can do. He runs on a
long run that should have been called back because there
was five different holding penalties, but they didn't call any

(20:48):
of those. They picked up the flag for whatever reason.
That was the theme for the day of the You
have your flag. Do you even know what to do
about the Joe Stoffel passers?

Speaker 9 (20:56):
Oh? Which which one?

Speaker 7 (20:58):
Exactly? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
That Backjly he is not going to be receiving any
comped drinks in Fargo. No, because it was twice the
first one, okay, maybe the second one with the full
on jersey tug. Everybody saw that. The people in the
north end saw that play.

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Anyway, what are you looking at?

Speaker 9 (21:18):
Do we compare the CIA officials to the CIA teams?
Is this the part of the program that happensa group?

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah, they're not used to watching high level football.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
There it is there, it is all right, back to
the All Star Construction hotline Auto and Fargo Auto. Thanks
for joining us.

Speaker 22 (21:33):
Well win to win, and let's bring on Mercer. But
I can really only give the offense credit for thirty
seven points.

Speaker 9 (21:42):
Okay, pick six, yep.

Speaker 22 (21:44):
And return for one hundred yards. So now all said
of the thirty seven thirty one, So hopefully they're whatever
the two weeks stuff meant to them. And if they
were dragging their feet, not sure. Maybe this team was
just better and everybody thought. I don't know, but you
know how ten thousand people stayed off. Shame on Bargo

(22:07):
at least had to work.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
You know, that's his excuse, and he's gonna stick with it.

Speaker 22 (22:13):
Yeah somewhere you go, Yeah it is it is.

Speaker 9 (22:20):
Thank you, otto appreciate the the call. Thirty seven points
should be enough to win that, Andy, as you averaged
thirty eight points a game and earned the two seed
during the season. You know, is it? It's not fifty one?
No thirty seven points for Indias. You should win you
almost any game.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
There's thirty one points, maybe in this round of the playoffs,
maybe the most that Indias who was given up in.

Speaker 10 (22:41):
The horn right this at we gave up thirty four
to Montana State last year.

Speaker 7 (22:49):
I think wasn't thirty four to thirty five?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Was that what it was in this round because.

Speaker 10 (22:54):
We went yep, second round, quarters were down at USD
and then semi finals.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
We're in Montana.

Speaker 9 (23:01):
Yeah, Montana.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, Okay, Well you don't want to at home for sure,
at home for sure, you don't want to give up
that many points. And they did earn them, Don't get
me wrong. It's not like they got any gifts handed
to them. Yeah, and they kept getting up, like they
kept hanging around that ten points there in the second half.
They until it really unraveled in the fourth quarter. I
mean they were within you know, ten eleven points for

(23:25):
a good portion of that second half.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
I just got frustrated.

Speaker 10 (23:28):
It seems like they just gashed us in the run game,
Like there's so many like seams that their back was
hitting and that's like, I mean, it gets a team
like this.

Speaker 7 (23:36):
We were talking in the.

Speaker 10 (23:37):
Pregame like you got to think you should be able
to win up front and stop the run game, and
that doesn't happen. I think what they're running back, you
want for well over one hundred yards.

Speaker 7 (23:47):
Yeah, one hundred and fifty three three. Yeah, I mean
that's too much.

Speaker 10 (23:50):
And I mean Southeast State's to put on this film
and I can't like they're not looking ahead. But they'll
see that at some point and take advantage.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
They got somebody who's gonna watch it take some notes. Yeah,
you know that for sure.

Speaker 9 (24:01):
Absolutely. Back to the All Star Construction hotline. Cole and
Fargo joining us. Cole, thanks for calling.

Speaker 22 (24:06):
Hey, thanks guys.

Speaker 23 (24:07):
Quick question for Chris Hansen.

Speaker 10 (24:09):
Any disappointment for Tim poulisik not it's in the last
second field goal for a cover.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Today when they were going for it, and I'm like,
if they don't get this, what's NBCU get They're gonna
have to run a play or two. So yeah, there's
a lot of people and maybe that were a bit
disappointed on that one, but.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
Yeah, I might I may or may not have been
one of those people. I was like, you know, Frea
could go, go, go go.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
We all watched the game for different reasons. The team wins.
Cole Jerk Bison Legend had texted me, what do you
think about the game coming up with Mercer? What are
your feelings on the Bears.

Speaker 12 (24:48):
Who are the Bears?

Speaker 2 (24:50):
I think I think that.

Speaker 24 (24:53):
Yeah, I think this is gonna be a cake walk
type type week.

Speaker 9 (24:56):
They think the wake up call this week.

Speaker 11 (24:57):
Next week they'll they'll dominate, buckle it down and.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Get the dub.

Speaker 9 (25:02):
Yeah, hope so and we'll definitely get into Mercer as
the uh as the show goes long, Coal, thanks so
much for calling in. It was Uh yeah, it's it's
gonna be an interesting matchup. I think people have a
couple of different impressions of Mercer. They're gonna want to
play a very specific kind of game, but it's another

(25:22):
another different team getting a chance to get a look
at the Fargodo.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Common opponent this year and again maybe Etsu. They beat
Etsu earlier this year. I think they beat them like
thirty eight thirty five or thirty four thirty one, something
like that. So you had a team that they can
compete that you don't win a couple of playoff games. Yeah,
and you I always get scared when those teams come in,
much like Aveline Christian did. You kind of get a

(25:47):
role going and you get a little confidence going, like
hey we.

Speaker 9 (25:50):
Can hear this.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yeah, and they definitely entered that game with that today,
even though they came in with the give up whites
on today, the surrender all whites top to bottom. I
was a little nervous for him on that.

Speaker 9 (26:01):
Yeah, that's uh. Usually the Missouri States were the old
Missouri State.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (26:07):
Yeah, those were a little bit, a little bit more
manageable games typically h than certainly this one was. Yeah, Hicks,
I mean again a good back. He was a thousand
yard rusher before coming in. That ninety yard touchdown run
right at the end of the first quarter really felt
like a what what is going on?

Speaker 10 (26:24):
I think logan cop had the long fit and was
trying to get over the top and just didn't make it.

Speaker 7 (26:27):
I'm like, that's the longest.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
The longest. That was the longest run that NDSU has
given up in the FCS era. Uh, the only the
previous one was an eighty five yard run by David
Johnson in twenty thirteen. For you and I, you.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
Can live with that. He's a pretty good player.

Speaker 9 (26:45):
He was all right, he was he was all right,
all right, we're gonna take a break. Let's uh we'll
get into uh taking a look at Mercer and what
else we can look at ahead, probably a little more
conversation about the defense officials. All that good stuff again.
Give us a call, shoot us a text seven on

Rickoff and in the shotgun here receivers right, Lance solo left,
snap to Camp, bap to pass, looks fires end zone
to the back line, touchdown Bison Rajah Nelson dancing in
the enzode back in the end zone, middle of the
end zone. Camp strikes to Rajah a six yard touchdown

(31:33):
and the Bison regain the lead nineteen to seventeen, twenty
one seconds to go in the half.

Speaker 9 (31:40):
Solid game for Rajah today, five catches twenty six yards,
including that touchdown reception where he tiptoed right along the
back of the end zone. NDSU fifty one thirty one
win advances to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs for
the fifteenth consecutive season.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
That sounds impressive, all right, all right.

Speaker 9 (32:03):
Sounds pretty darn good, pretty darn good. There got a
text in, Jake, This one's especially for you. You can
give us a senus to text. At seven to one, four, seven, six,
sixteen sixty, the defensive line seem to get bunched up
and we're unable to get off blocks, allowing their run
game to get chunks of yards at times. Is that
a scheme issue? Or were we overmatched.

Speaker 10 (32:23):
I don't think we're overmatched as far as like the
run game goes, defensive.

Speaker 7 (32:27):
Line wise, you're more often than.

Speaker 10 (32:29):
Not, like obviously we have a gap, a gap sound defense,
so everyone has a gap responsibility.

Speaker 7 (32:34):
But as a detackled the end.

Speaker 10 (32:35):
You're taking on your block, just trying to stay in
your gap, and the three linebackers and then normally a
strong safety that will roll down kind of, they're the
ones through the scheme of the defense that are probably
I mean, obviously it's good to have defense line and
make tackles for losses and stuff, but the linebackers are
the ones that kind of at the end of the day,
they're the ones supposed to make all the tackles.

Speaker 7 (32:53):
I don't think we got outmanned or anything.

Speaker 10 (32:56):
I just think, you know, there's a couple of fits
that we missed that you know, led to a ninety
yard touchdown on some big runs that just need to
get you know, short up and like we were talking earlier,
if that keeps happening, potentially those misfits can cost you
a season, right a little bit in a different game.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Yeah, as far as yeah, d lineman on the running
game are there to take up space exactly, take up blockers,
don't let the blockers get to the next level. Let
those players in the next level make the plays, and
then when it's time to get after the quarterback, which
INDUSU was not doing today for a portion of the game,
but then obviously cop with the huge play, a big
momentum play there as well. So you know, defensive linemen, linebackers,

(33:36):
they can be friends. You guys can agree to a disagree.

Speaker 7 (33:39):
Agree to disagree.

Speaker 10 (33:40):
Sometimes sometimes they just think that we're just big dumb
dudes that put her hands in the ground and can't
hear anything.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
And if I had to listen to cold Jerk talking
about defensive linemen talk about how many times Grant Olsen
job jumped on top of a pile to get an
extra tackle all.

Speaker 7 (33:54):
The time, and then shast towards the grand stance to
the modern.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yeah, oh yeah, I knew it'd get him knowing.

Speaker 7 (34:03):
There's an art to that. Jackson Hanky was the same way,
like Mini g O. But those guys did a good
job getting this lined up.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
I think they did.

Speaker 9 (34:10):
Okay, yeah, definitely did, definitely did all right today. All right,
we haven't really dove into it a lot. Phil Hanson
mentioned it when he was talking about grades. Tackling was
rough today.

Speaker 10 (34:20):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's been a theme the last
what like three four years. I don't know what what
needs to happen to fix it. It was bad, Like
I think, like Ryan Jones on that first touchdown, I mean,
he's a better I was just like just frustrated at
him because I'm like, Ryan, you're a better football player.

Speaker 7 (34:40):
Like, I mean, it was a terrible effort of a tackle.
Like Ryan, you're better than that. You need to be better.

Speaker 10 (34:45):
Yeah, but I mean it's gonna knock on wood, but
I could lose a football game in the next two weeks.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Is how much in a game, going into game by
game is working on fundamentals of you know what I'm saying,
Like you're worried so much about your ski, what your
plan is, what how much of the fundamental if you would,
gets brought up on a weekly basis. You know, it's
tough for the technique.

Speaker 10 (35:08):
Yeah, it's tough to slate in the season because you
know everyone's kind of banged up too, so you want
to kind of limit as much physical contact and practice
as you can.

Speaker 7 (35:16):
Not So, like right now, not a whole lot like
fall camp.

Speaker 10 (35:18):
Begin in the season, you sure do tackling circuits and
like it's kind of it's put a.

Speaker 7 (35:22):
Premium more on it in the season.

Speaker 10 (35:24):
But I think, you know, I'm sure the coaches are
gonna watch it tomorrow morning.

Speaker 7 (35:28):
And that might be a thing they're gonna have to
visit this week again.

Speaker 10 (35:31):
Maybe they're gonna have to, you know, have a little
bit more of a physical Tuesday and Wednesday to just
kind of get like, hey, like we didn't tackle good,
we gotta fix that.

Speaker 9 (35:39):
And it was it was a different kind of back
because we certainly saw some of this against South Dakota,
but Tys was just a monster.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (35:45):
I mean he's just an absolute bruiser coming right down
a lot of shifty guys. It wasn't even just the
running backs. They'd run those bubble screens anytime they liked
the matchups and the numbers that they had on the outside.
A lot of times it was the second or third
guy that was having to come in and make the play.

Speaker 10 (36:01):
Yeah, just you know, sometimes it's kind of, you know,
everything compiles it a snowball effect, but you know, one
guy doesn't have good leverage and then the next guy
misses the tackle right, so the next play down you're
kind of second guessing is that guy gonna be in
the right spots? Then you're playing on steps slow, and
then you just don't get there because you're playing slow.
There's a bunch of things that kind of happened. But
I trust Goo and Coach Gainser, and you know, Coach

(36:23):
paulis like, even though he decided not to go for
the cover at the end of.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
The game, so I don't know what they're talking about,
but I'll go with it. And also too, the offensive
players start to realize they've got you on roller skates
exactly right, and they know that if I can make
one extra move that you're not expecting, that that could
bust it open and get one of those mistackles turns
into two or three mistackles, which turns into extra ten,

(36:46):
fifteen to twenty yards.

Speaker 9 (36:47):
Sometimes Yeah and yeah, like you said, snowball is the
perfect way NDSU in the middle of the game, though
thankfully able to get that under control. You look at
NDSU combined in the second and third quarters outscored Aveline
Christian thirty eight to ten. In that in that middle
part of the game, that's hard to come back from.
Even when you spot yourself a bit of a lead,
that's a long ways to go.

Speaker 10 (37:07):
Yeah, And that's one thing you'll hear a lot of
coaches talk about is winning the middle eight the last
four minutes of the first half, the first four minutes.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
The second half is where a lot of games are
won and loss.

Speaker 10 (37:14):
And obviously, like you said, you know, Andy issue did
a good job of that this week.

Speaker 7 (37:18):
And you know that's something you know, it's stressed a lot.

Speaker 10 (37:21):
You know, you gotta be really good in the last
four minutes of the first half, really good to start
the second half and put yourself in a position to.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Yeah, And I think Andysu did that exactly at the
end of the first half. And then you know, coming
out strong in the second second half. And I think
that knowing that Abilene Christian is getting the ball to
start the second half made that end of the first
half even that much more important, right, absolutely.

Speaker 9 (37:42):
All right, we talked about the tackling the negatives. Let's
let's get back into the text and one of the
other negatives we alluded to it earlier, Randy texting in
about the officiating. It was at a game at the
game in Delaware a few years ago, sat next to
a James Madison fan talking about the bad officiating he
could played about the Missouri Randy complained about the Missouri

(38:03):
Valley refs, and they had a game, he said a
while back where a CIA referee crew enforced a penalty
from three plays ago, which I've never seen anything like that.
Apparently it was confirmed by the sleuths. We're gonna give
that to Andy. Why not? But that's that's pretty wild.
That's pretty wild. Yeah, Joe Stuffle would not would prefer

(38:25):
not to see the letter C A A.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Again, it's not it's not an easy asked to be
an official, and we should thank the people who want
to stand up and do it at every level because
it's a dying art. So that being said, last week
during the Montana game against Tennessee State, Eddie George's team,
that right, somebody had said, someone please come get these

(38:50):
Missouri Valley resters out of their elements. So everybody thinks
it about everybody. I think it's that kind of a deal.

Speaker 9 (38:55):
That's fair. All right, Let's go to Chris from Coon
Rapids texting in just about the quality of Abilene they
lost in overtime to Texas Tech. We mentioned that during
game day today played Idaho to a three point game,
that they're a solid team and just may not have
been giving them enough credit, which it was entirely possible
coming into today's game. Yeah, I think you get into

(39:16):
the mode of a new team coming into the Fargo Dome,
buckle up for some big boy football. They came ready
to go.

Speaker 10 (39:22):
Yeah, they came in and they punched out, they sue
in the mouth, and I mean, seventeen to three. That
was I think it was the first time ever we've
been down two plus scores in the playoffs at home.

Speaker 7 (39:33):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 9 (39:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Again, that touchdown return, exact kick off return is just huge.
It just looms so big today.

Speaker 10 (39:40):
Yeah, no, good for I mean, I don't know what
their roster looks like as far as you know, how
many seniors they have and stuff like that, but I
mean that's gonna be a team in the United Athletic
Conference there, Yeah, the UAC, that's gonna you know, recent
kind of came up to D one in twenty thirteen.

Speaker 7 (39:54):
So yeah, Abilien Christian. I think Devin Climban actually coached
there for like a fall.

Speaker 9 (39:58):
I mean, the UAC showed out today because not just
Ablen Christian, Tarlton State as well. Out of that conference.
Those two teams played a couple of weeks ago in
a de facto conference championship game. Abilene Christian came out
on top. Tarlton State gave USD everything that they could
handle down in Vermillion today too.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Yeah, I'm saying the state of Texas where they have
like forty five Division one I mean literally it's an exaggeration,
but it's not that far off. There's just a lot
of good players, right, I mean, you think of the
players that NSU was brought up from the state of Texas,
and it just it looks like a different game if
you watch high school football in the state of Texas
and then you watch a North Dakota game. Nothing against
what Northcote's doing, but it's a different breed, you know

(40:37):
what I mean. So twenty six Division one colleges there,
I knew there was a lot, but so and that
just goes to the show of that that these teams can.
Sam Houston was one of those teams from many years
before they moved up that just year after year after year,
they're getting Texas players that A and M or Tech
or whoever doesn't want and these players want to stay

(40:58):
close to home, They've got plenty options.

Speaker 9 (40:59):
Absolute Yeah, all right, we're gonna take our next break here.
Coming up, we've got to get to our player of
the game. We want to take a look around the
scoreboard as well as the quarterfinals is taking shape with
just one game left to go to fully shape the
rest of the brackets. We'll get a look at all
that coming up here on Bison Hotline.

cop big defensive play earlier with the sack, forced fumble,
fumble recovery and a big return, gets the gets the
game taken care of and put away with that thirty
one yard interception return. Heck of a game for that
young man or player of the game.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
Yeah, and I think that one of the things that
Jake said earlier was, you know when picking up right,
like offense isn't doing a defens will step up and
and you know, kind of take over a little bit
in the second half the defense. They I mean, they
made it happen in the second half. So Logan cop
is one of those guys that he's been He's a

(46:36):
lot of snaps there. Yeah, there's a lot of snaps there,
and he had meaningful snaps, and he was younger and
coming into probably very high pressure situations. And if you
have a lot of high pressure situation snaps, I think
when you're younger that maybe means more then you know,
the accumulated time almost to practice absolutely right, you're seeing
it live. It's coming at you at full speed. That's

(46:57):
not you know, oh you missed that one, come back
and let's run it again, and you know you have
to make the play. And I think today that we're
really seeing that out of Logan.

Speaker 9 (47:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (47:04):
And I think just the type of player. Obviously, he's
an all conference level player. Just the speed he plays
with when.

Speaker 7 (47:10):
We got that sack fumble. Just he's a heck of
a football player.

Speaker 10 (47:13):
And you know kind of what we see with him,
you know, those growing pains maybe two years ago when
he was younger. That's what I'm kind of hoping for
with the UH, with the younger dbs. Right now, I
get these high press situations now and then hopefully a
year or even maybe a game later, next game or
the game after, you use that to build out that.

Speaker 18 (47:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (47:31):
Yeah, well, Logan Cop he is our DRI Player of
the game. Dakota Refrigeration helps athletes succeed behind the scenes,
from the training room to the dining room, from milt
to medicine, ice to ice cream. DRI has been serving Minnesota, Montana,
and the Dakotas for over forty years online at dak
ref dot com. Griffin Crosa was the Network pre game

(47:52):
Player of the game. So I would say that gave
us a little more options more to choose.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
Picked Phil up. He was a little salty. It was
needman on that one. But so the film We Got You,
We Got You Back.

Speaker 9 (48:04):
But so I think Cop the correct choice if I
do say so.

Speaker 1 (48:09):
But still, I mean fifteen points from your kick, I
mean that's.

Speaker 9 (48:12):
Huge sets the NCAAFCS record for most extra points made.
So that's also a big deal, certainly for for Crosa.
And yeah, I mean fifteen points pretty dark close to
the difference in the in the game.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
Right when you win by twenty, you needed every one.

Speaker 9 (48:27):
Of those fifteen ers, right, Griffin Cross.

Speaker 7 (48:29):
Is the goat. Look at that there is thought thought mentioned.

Speaker 9 (48:33):
Cam Miller twenty twenty nine two and seventy four yards,
three scores through the air for him. Bryce lanced Soliday
as well, five receptions seventy yards a touchdown. He drew
a pass interference penalty as well. He seemed to be
open an awful lot today. He made some big plays
and got into su into some scoring positions.

Speaker 10 (48:53):
There's just something about when you see Cam drop back
on a five step, get to his back foot, throw
it up.

Speaker 7 (48:58):
You know Bryce is down.

Speaker 10 (48:59):
It's just like a good feel in when the balls
and they're like that this is probably gonna be completed.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
Yeah, and throwing it and I love those long balls too,
throwing it to where they're going to be right, Like
it's just that's that takes so much repetition, Like that's
you just to do it second nature right to throw
them to the open or throw them to the area,
and they're trying to fight to get to that area.
And uh, it's he is really a player that man.

(49:22):
I wish you'd have gotten more snaps. Yeah, in the
last couple of years, you know, like but it was clogged,
Like what are you gonna do. You had a lot
of good wide receivers the last couple.

Speaker 10 (49:31):
Of years, So we might have Eli Green trying to
come back next year after seven portal.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Back up, right back down. I don't know that.

Speaker 7 (49:41):
Ninety yards in the season.

Speaker 9 (49:42):
And yeah, I also need to give a shout out
to Brayln Henderson. That thirty two yard reception that he
had over the middle was one of the better catches
you are going to see. It look like he almost
picked that one off of the ground.

Speaker 7 (49:57):
And then a big spot too.

Speaker 10 (49:58):
I mean that was kind of still in the Bison
y struggling trying to find their find their way a
little bit an offense, and that's you know, a senior captain,
then you need to step up and make one.

Speaker 7 (50:05):
Of those big time plays in a situation.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
Like that, it's a good win. It was ugly at times,
but it was definitely a good win. And now we
move on to next week. That's the great thing. Now
the biggest questions will be Friday, probably not what time
on Saturday. Personally, I'm not hoping for an eleven AM.
I'd like it later afternoon. But yeah, we'll take whatever
comes are well.

Speaker 7 (50:23):
We should find out soon, right.

Speaker 1 (50:25):
I would take after the IDAH game is done tonight,
or maybe.

Speaker 9 (50:29):
I would imagine that that night game, the Friday night
game has to go to Montana State almost just because
of time zones. Yeah, that's true, like the you know,
you're not You're not gonna give them an eleven o'clock
kick because that's a ten o'clock kick out in Montana
out of Bozeman there. Maybe they get the afternoon, but
I would I would guess you would give Montana State

(50:50):
the night game, or or.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
The west coast of the Davis that if they're gonna.

Speaker 9 (50:54):
Be Davis, that they will be at USD.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
Oh, they go to USD, He'll go to ok.

Speaker 9 (51:00):
So, Yeah, your hosts for the next next weekend's games
would be the three Dakota's.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
You got it. Yeah, that's right, you got it.

Speaker 7 (51:07):

Speaker 2 (55:35):
Lance piers So wheel round his caught out of the backfield,
Tak Marshul going to the Exiles touchdown past thirty yards,
touchdown pass, beautiful design Filler with a fake to last
found TK on a wheel round out of the backfield Fitch.
It buys an offense and it's all of a sudden

(55:57):
thirty unanswered three seventeen six o.

Speaker 7 (56:02):
Eight to go.

Speaker 9 (56:03):
The third. Yeah, we that's the name we hadn't mentioned yet.
As t K Marshall. That was Christy. One of the
points you made earlier the definition of throwing it where
he's gonna be lofting it right over and knowing that
he had a defender on the corner that had to
make a decision. He came up TK wide open behind.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
When you want to make a defense, silly look silly.
When you're playing in NDACU, it absolutely positively has to
be a wheel route. Yeah, I mean, is there there
is nothing more than other than like you know, gap powers,
but the wheel the wheel round at nbsuck was you
know him and Iowa never forget that and so many
great plays.

Speaker 7 (56:40):
Uh and yeah was good on the wheel AUP.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
I just don't get Teams have to know it's going
to be coming at some point during the game.

Speaker 7 (56:47):
It's hard.

Speaker 10 (56:48):
A lot of it's a matchup too, because you get
to normally get a linebacker on a round back, which
you know, or a linebacker on a Majestic beast Hunter
lip Key, which is a good matchup for Hunter, but uh,
you don't know what you like that matchup, you know.
That's why you know when you get a linebacker like
Jabril Cox or one of those guys that can run
with the back like that's where.

Speaker 7 (57:05):
Okay, that's a special linebacker that a lot of teams
don't have.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
Yeah, a good day for Cam Miller passing. I was
just I hadn't looked at the final stats, but twenty
of twenty nine for two four three touchdowns, the one
pick which was not his fault, and then running five
for seven with a touchdown. So the running numbers five
is a good number. I don't I don't know if
I want to get much higher than that. But again,

(57:29):
twenty of twenty nine for two seventy four. It's good, Bay,
that's that sounds like every single NBSU quarterback, maybe even
a little bit more yards than what we've been become
accustomed to.

Speaker 9 (57:40):
But Cam moved into second place all time in DSU
history for passing touchdowns, passing Frock Jensen. He's gonna need
to do some work. I don't know that he's quite
gonna have enough. I believe I got to check the
number thirteen fourteen ish behind behind Easton Stick and didn't
you get.

Speaker 1 (57:56):
To completions corrector today was announced there was a completions wreck.

Speaker 9 (58:00):
Happily believe that was correct.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
Yes, so yeah, it's he is from a guy who
had to come in kind of in a what are
we going to do now scenario with Trey Lance yep
to having this kind of career.

Speaker 9 (58:12):
Its yeah, there it is. Clean up from earlier too,
had mentioned the largest deficit that NDSU faced at home
in the playoffs. Thanks for texting in incarnate word sixteen
to nothing lead a couple of years ago in the
semi final game that at DSU eventually won thirty five
thirty two. But so thank you for keeping us honest
on that one. Appreciate that. All right, let's let's get

(58:33):
to that jiffy Lupafargo scoreboard because the bracket rounding into shape.
Good day for the for the better seated teams here
today Mercer will be coming to the Fargo domes seventeen
to ten. Will dive I think next segment will dive
a little bit deeper into this Mercer team because they
are they are have been kind of viewed as a

(58:53):
one trick pony that does that one trick very very well.
Beat Rhode Island seventeen to ten in Mercer. Hode Island
on the day. Twenty six carries forty nine yards and
that is what you can expect from this Mercer team.
They have rick one of, if not the best run
defense in the country.

Speaker 7 (59:11):
Well, Marty Brownrika you heard it?

Speaker 9 (59:14):
You heard yep? Or Cam's gonna throw for four hundred
yards because I'd cool that this Rhode Island team not
a good passing team. I don't believe. They had their
starting quarterback today through for two hundred and sixty six
yards and completed sixty seven percent of their passes. So
that's a if you're looking for a game plan, that
may be it. Because Mercer they're gonna sell out to
stop the run. Your napisto telling me, I'm not saying

(59:37):
anything like that. Wouldn't wouldn't dream of insinuating anything along
those lines. But seventeen to ten Mercer with the UH
with the win. Rhode Island was up ten to seven
heading into the fourth, but Mercer scored the final ten
in the fourth period. So that'll be the match up
next week. UH. South Dakota State thirty five eighteen, really
in control all the way against against Montana. The Jacks

(01:00:00):
do what they do, twenty one to three, lead at
the at the half and cruise the rest of the way.
Fife I don't believe played it all for Montana today.
It was all the way through.

Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
After how many times you put it on the turf
last week? Yeah, he was maybe even lucky to get
on the plane this week.

Speaker 9 (01:00:18):
Gronowski, solid game, twelve of sixteen hundred and fifty one yards,
two scores. But the rushing attack, you know, Johnson, I
think they got some names that are off here. They
got Johnson in for two of the running backs. Yeah right,
I don't believe Johnson is either of them. Pierre Junior
had sixteen carries one hundred and three yards, Tice ninety
one yards. Where am i? Where am I at here? Yeah,

(01:00:41):
I'm looking at the rushing They've got the individual rushing
numbers all messed up on my on the stats here,
so we'll get those visual. Because Tyson had three touchdowns
on the on the ground today at South Dakota State, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
On the wrong.

Speaker 9 (01:00:55):
I'm on the wrong South Dakota.

Speaker 7 (01:00:56):
Yeaheez.

Speaker 9 (01:00:58):
Thirty five eighteen A long day, man. It's a fine
solid game though, for a solid game on the ground.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
For some surprise, took care of business.

Speaker 9 (01:01:06):
No thanks, let's clean that up all right. Incarnate word
thirteen to six against Villanova. That had to have been
just an absolutely rock brutal, brutal watch today. But the
Cardinals take care of the CIA and send them, send them.

Speaker 10 (01:01:20):
Packing, CIA batraps, bat teams, the Conference bad seafood, the
Conference formerly known as the CIA.

Speaker 9 (01:01:28):
Right exactly has that feeling exactly. Zach Kelzada twenty two
to thirty seven hundred and eighty two yards and a score.
Not exactly the high flying Incarnate Word team that we
saw two years ago, but able to get the job done.
A late face mask penalty on Villanova really kind of
put the nail in the coffin for the Wildcats. On
the way so Incarnate Word, we'll head to South Dakota State.

(01:01:51):
South Dakota took a scare today from Tarleton State. Forty
two to thirty one was the was the final, but
that one was back and forth tied almost all of
the way through until South Dakota pulled away. Hey, let's
get to Tyson this one. How about five carries one
hundred and thirty yards, three touchdowns, Pierre Junior nine carries
eighty yards. Uh so they were they were all over

(01:02:13):
it on the on the running game. Bowman solid as well.
Eighteen to twenty two, two hundred and thirteen yards and
two scores. They needed every bit of it.

Speaker 7 (01:02:20):
Yeah, I was walcked.

Speaker 10 (01:02:20):
I mean, Charleston State had an opportunity and it's probably
seven minutes left from the fourth driving down the field,
I think they were down five, maybe four or five,
and you know it kind of got like a fuki
tip pass ended up South Scota picked it off and
kind of that's what stealed that one. But I mean
UAC United Athletic Conference got some good teams down there
in Texas.

Speaker 9 (01:02:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
Again, tons of players. The numbers game that does help.

Speaker 9 (01:02:45):
Yeah. Cooper had nine catches one hundred and sixty one
yards in three touchdowns for Charleton State, but through three picks,
and it's going to be hard to win against a
good South Dakota team. When you do that, they will
have what is probably gonna be the most evenly matched
game of the weekend. Next weekend, they will host UC Davis,
a forty two to ten win over Illinois State out

(01:03:07):
of the Valley. You see, Davis is really good. Land
Laris and I was surprised that he wasn't the third guy,
along with Cam Miller and Tommy Mallott to come to
the as a Walter Payton finalist Laris And had twenty
two carries hundred and four yards and three scores. Hastings
Miles Hastings twenty five to thirty three four hundred and
three yards and three touchdowns for UC Davis. No picks

(01:03:28):
as well. That offense is really good and that's gonna
be a tough matchup next weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Yeah, you're claiming they're legit. You're gonna give him the
legit status?

Speaker 9 (01:03:39):
I am, Yeah, Yeah, you see, Davis, they've been they've
been really really good all year Illinois State. You know,
they were the fourth best team in the Valley. They
were solid. Talk to their sideline guy this morning on
the Tailgate show. They've kind of won every game that
they were supposed to, lost every game that they were
supposed to, and you see Davis put a hurt on
them today.

Speaker 7 (01:04:00):
I wasn't.

Speaker 10 (01:04:01):
I would have thought, just obviously knowing like Big Sky
Missouri Valley, that Illinois State's defense would have put up
a little bit more of a fight.

Speaker 7 (01:04:07):
Again, like that four nder in three yards passing is.

Speaker 9 (01:04:11):
Woof yeah, and it was. They forced a punt on
the first drive. UC Davis turned it over on downs
after that for the next five drives in the first half,
all touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
Yeah, that'll put you to bed real fast.

Speaker 9 (01:04:22):
Speaking of being put to bed real fast, let's talk
about U. T. Martin forty nine to seventeen. Montana State
does what number one teams are supposed to do against
an unseeded team coming into their place. Tommy Mallatt twenty
two to twenty five. Three hundred yards even through the air,
and four touchdowns. Humphrey eleven carries one hundred and two
yards in a score. Three different players with a rushing
touchdown for Montana State, three different players as well with

(01:04:46):
a receiving touchdown. They are good. They're every bit of
the number one seed in this tournament, and they are
gonna be tough for anybody to beat.

Speaker 7 (01:04:53):
Yeah, just with the win. A lots playing right now.

Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
I mean, he's him and camer obviously the two best
players in the country for a reason. And you know
he's he's about his dynamic of a player as we've
seen at this level in a long time. Think of
guys like you know, Lindsay Scott from Cardiover, Yeah Streveler
back in the day at USD, the guy from UH
Illinois State that played Robertson like he's.

Speaker 7 (01:05:15):
In that Echelona dude.

Speaker 10 (01:05:16):
So you know, whenever you got a quarterback like that,
you know defensive coaches are going to have And.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Another guy who got a lot of snaps when he
was young exactly, but you know he's been has a
lot of football underneath his belt. So it's a guy
you gotta worry about. And you got to wonder in
that National Championship game, right, he gets hurt in the
first half.

Speaker 7 (01:05:34):
You know what, do you know who broke his leg?

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
It wasn't you?

Speaker 9 (01:05:37):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
No?

Speaker 7 (01:05:39):
I was fun that kind of it was a hip
drop tackle. Actually the hip drop.

Speaker 10 (01:05:43):
Yeah, this is got real awkward dark I guess I
got like I got hate mail from Montana State fans.

Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
Would I now, I probably agree, didn't I know you didn't,
but you know you And that was the discussion that
year was what does that game look like if he
is able to play the whole game?

Speaker 7 (01:06:00):
I think, I mean, I think it's a little bit
close stressed.

Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
I think industies still get some win. If I remember
they were I think it was six point favorites or.

Speaker 7 (01:06:08):
Something like that. He was a freshman.

Speaker 10 (01:06:10):
Yeah, he was like a kind of freshman phenomen but
we I mean, they weren't going to stop hundred key
and we said Christian Watson and yeah no, yeah, feel bad.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
So two guys are playing in the NFL, and then
you're sitting here in between Brad and I talk.

Speaker 7 (01:06:23):
Eating a burger, drink beer the Glory days.

Speaker 9 (01:06:26):
But you're getting to do that live at the Applebee's
across from the Fargo Dome. Here. Come up, grab some food,
grab some drinks, do some Christmas shopping. Buy fifty dollars
in gift cards, get a ten dollars bonus gift card
as well. Get everything you need right in one place.
Always some great happy hour specials here as well. Before
we get back and kind of take a look at
the matchups and the one remaining game, let's pause ten

(01:06:48):
seconds for station identification.

Speaker 8 (01:06:51):
Q w B West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead and KPFX HD
three kindred by sixteen sixty lay Chevrolet Cavlaie Onnday in Fargo.

Speaker 9 (01:07:02):
Brad Jones, Chris Hansen JA caveat here from Applebee's on
by Hotline, wrapping up a fifty one to thirty one
NDSU win. One more game yet to go tonight in
the FCS. That'll be Idaho kicking off at eight o'clock
hosting Lehigh out of the Patriot League. Idaho a small
step below U see Davis. Idaho is a good team.
I was surprised that they ended up being the eight seed.

(01:07:24):
They played almost every team really really tough this year
except for Montana State. If Idaho wins, they're heading back
to Bozeman next week.

Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
That'd be a heck of a matchup. Yeah, And you know,
you love seeing teams again for that second time and
familiarity and that's that breeds a lot of fun.

Speaker 7 (01:07:42):
Well, it's always tough to be a good team. Twice.
I think we talked about that this morning on the
pregame show.

Speaker 10 (01:07:48):
Get worried about that if we see that team from
South Dakota again, But worry about that when we get there.
But i'd be a premier game in the second.

Speaker 9 (01:07:57):
Second quarter, quarter final, quarter final finals. Yeah. So it's
gonna be uh, it's gonna be all the host sites
kind of what we expect it's gonna be. It's gonna
be NDSU, SDSU USD, Montana State. Those four sites that
is where games next week will be played. Gonna be
some really good football. I think that that Idaho Montana State.
If that's the way it plays out, it's gonna be

(01:08:18):
really good. And certainly UC Davis at USD has got
some fun matchups.

Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
And they got a good day in Brookings today for weather. Yeah,
I don't know. Next week looks like. Beginning of the
week is a little uh choppy in our neck of
the woods. So we'll see what next weekend looks like.
But man, they got a nice day to go and
have some football outside at Dana j.

Time for more reaction from today's game. Pury game is

Speaker 9 (01:13:57):
Doelfit?

Speaker 12 (01:13:58):
Single man on the right side.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Here's a snapped to camp miller three man rush camp
bouncing around fires over the top, looking down the same Oh,
I got this one A type it catch what I catch?
Braylon Henner says he struck out of there from nowhere
bade the crab thirty six yard game first own Bison.

Speaker 9 (01:14:19):
An outstanding catcher from Brayln Henderson. I mean almost looked
like he had magnets between the football and his gloves
because he got his hands on that stuck and made
a wonderful, wonderful catch. Fun to see him be able
to get loose a little bit and get a big one.

Speaker 10 (01:14:33):
Yeah, especially for a senior captain. Just outstanding play playing
against you know, one of those D one schools from
Texas at Braylan Hobos. He chose to come to the
right side where the grass is always greener, up and
fart of that.

Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
That's right, that's right. But I always like to say
the snow's all is whiter at North Cliffs.

Speaker 9 (01:14:50):
There you go, it's.

Speaker 7 (01:14:51):
All melting, though careful if you ice fishing.

Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
It's gonna be a rain in the forecast for Yeah,
the heck is up with that. But on this note
of how many different receivers did Cam go to today, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, Yeah,
different receivers including starting off the afternoon. Wait a minute,
what's he doing now? What like is that Brochie? He's

(01:15:18):
not number Well, that's right, that's Truman. So eight different
players today receiving the twenty completions from Cam today.

Speaker 9 (01:15:27):
That's good as much of a go to option as
Bryce Lance is certainly not the only option, and that
makes it difficult game plan for knowing that Cam is
the type of quarterback who you know. You look at
how many of those plays Bryce may have been the
number one option, but he's going to get to the
right guy going down through his progressions. We've seen it
certainly all season. Absolutely all right, let's uh, let's dive

(01:15:49):
into next week's matchup the Mercer Bears. They've been playing really,
really well all throughout the season, picking up the win today.
They're at eleven and two on the year. You look
at their losses. One was just a couple of weeks
ago to Alabama, and one was to Stamford, which was
one of the flukier games. They were down twenty eight
to nothing with a couple of the defensive touchdowns before

(01:16:09):
you could even blink an eye. In that game, they
stopped the run. That is what they do. They average
eight tackles for losses per game, and so they get
into the backfield and they will they will make you pay.
You look at a couple of the games even recently
where teams have scored on them. They beat Furman twenty
nine to forty three in the last game of the
regular season. You're like, oh, twenty three, that's a fair

(01:16:31):
amount of points against the defense that's supposed to be good.
Twenty seven carries seventy three yards two point seven yards
per carry was what Furman had in that game. Threw
the ball for about two hundred and fifty but again
could not run the ball. East Tennessee State, we mentioned
Chris you had talked about common opponents. East Tennessee State
put up thirty one points against Mercer. That was a
tight game. In that game, East Tennessee State, we saw

(01:16:54):
a pretty good running attack from him. Thirteen carries thirty yards. Wow,
through for four hundred and fifty nine. Okay, well that
is where those points are coming from. If you're going
to score on Mercer, you better be able to throw it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
This looks like the recipe card is starting to be
printed out here.

Speaker 9 (01:17:07):
Yeah, it's if you're wanting to get a chance, you
got to look at those NDSU receivers. And that's why
it's good to see guys like Brelan and Rajah get
going today. They're probably going to get some opportunities.

Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
Next week, I think. And also Mercer. I don't know
what kind of a history either is there of India. Yea,
I don't remember playing. The mainly thing I remember on
Mercer was them beating Duke in the yeah, past week ago.
If I can really jog my brain, I think that's
maybe the school highlight.

Speaker 9 (01:17:35):
I was a fifteen to two matchup. If I'm remembering,
I think you're correct.

Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
Was that recently with COVID?

Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
I think it was either eight years ago or.

Speaker 9 (01:17:43):
Twenty years ago. Listen, as you get older, you know,
recently starts to really stretch as far as when that,
let's call.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
It within the last ten to twelve years.

Speaker 7 (01:17:53):
I think that's fair. Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (01:17:55):
So, you know, not knowing much about a team that's
going to be coming in, hopefully get a couple more
butts in the stands next week and make a little
bit more noise. I thought it was a good amount
of noise once thing's kind of got going today and
guy next week as well. The crowd's really not getting
into him, Like what's start get into We're down seventeen
to three, right, like even cheer only you want, but
if there's not much to cheer for, it's gonna be quiet.

Speaker 9 (01:18:18):
Yeah, Mercer also going to try to run the ball.
Got a really good running back in Twain McGee. He's
over one thousand yards, over eleven hundred yards on the season,
averages five yards of carry, eight touchdowns, about eighty seven
yards a game. They've got a quarterback who will run
in DJ Smith. They'll play two guys in Announcemith didn't
really see the field today, just had three carries, but

(01:18:39):
he's netted one hundred and thirty six yards. But your
gain loss with him getting sacked is gonna be gonna
be a little bit different different there as well, so
it'll be an interesting mix. But Mercer certainly could not
throw the ball against against Rhode Island today. Neubauer was
ten of twenty for fifty seven yards. That's two digits.

Speaker 7 (01:19:00):
Just it just it's like Davy's High school.

Speaker 1 (01:19:03):
It really is like they passed and you wonder if.

Speaker 9 (01:19:05):
Something's wrong right right, So it's uh, the matchup for
the formula is gonna be pretty simple. It's interesting when
you face a team and I'm curious in the past, Jake,
if when you ndsu is facing a team where it's like, okay,
they do this really well, they stop the run. That
is what they do. That's NDSU strength, that is NDSU's
calling card. Do you say, well, let's make them prove

(01:19:28):
it or are you coming out throwing?

Speaker 10 (01:19:30):
Yeah, I mean obviously I was on the defensive side,
so I don't like to. I would think Coach Landry
just I think Paul Second Landry are kind of we've
I think we've spread the ball around more this year
than we have in the recent So I'm guessing in
their mind, if I was you, I would say, these
guys are terrible against the past. Let's just let our
the best quarterback in the country just drop back and

(01:19:51):
sling it around.

Speaker 1 (01:19:52):
Let them go.

Speaker 10 (01:19:52):
But maybe they're like, maybe they take us a challenge
to the old line and say, hey, these are this
is the best run defense you guys have played. Can
you guys move the ball on? So I think there's
different ways you can go about it. I think we'll
probably just see a balance attack from NDSU. I don't
think they're gonna get you know, I don't want you scared.
I don't think they're gonna get deterred anyway any one way.

Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
With the with the way Mercery.

Speaker 9 (01:20:11):
Plays, we go to coach Chris Hansen on the on
the other side here, what's what's your game plan?

Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
I think I think I would go and come out
and throw the ball. I think a lot of play
action if they know that we want to run the ball,
I think a lot of good play action looks, you know,
if they're intent on stopping the run. If you can
do it a little bit, run the ball. I mean
just a little bit, it makes that so much better.
But I would come out with it right away.

Speaker 7 (01:20:34):
Let's take the top off first play of the game.
I would run a double move by Bryce.

Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
Just for no other reason, like show them the knife. Yeah,
you know, like this, this is the knife, right, and
I know what to do with this. I might not
have caught you this time, but I got the knife.

Speaker 9 (01:20:48):
Well and even and when you're ndsu yes, is it
helpful if you run the ball successfully to set up
play action. You don't need to because they know that's
what we want exactly know we want to run the ball.
When Cam turns and sticks his arm out with the ball,
you think there's a better chance than not that that
ball is going to back.

Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
And that's what I'm saying. Then, So if you can
have a little bit of success that gets even more magnified.
I'd just come out and start doing.

Speaker 7 (01:21:12):
It right away.

Speaker 9 (01:21:13):
And this is you know, you got the potential if
both teams try to run it, man, maybe we get
a short game.

Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
So yeah, boy, I tell you what, these these ESPN
they love their three hour games. Man. They will do
whatever it takes to make these games go plus three hours.

Speaker 9 (01:21:29):
You know, I was calling a couple of those media
timeouts up there in the press box too. You know,
it felt like there are a couple of spots where
I needed them. But we'll get the game times either
late tonight or tomorrow morning likely is when we will
when we will see I again. My best guess Montana
State gets the gets the Friday night game, and then
the Dakota schools will take take Saturday afternoon. I believe

(01:21:49):
one of those three games on Saturday will be on
ESPN plus. Uh be pretty surprised if the Vermilion doesn't
get the Get the Old, even though that may be
the best game of a bunch. I would I would
anticipate South go to State, North Kota State getting on
getting on the lid. Would I would think.

Speaker 7 (01:22:07):
So and South Coast just off like the broadcast so terrible.

Speaker 12 (01:22:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:22:12):
I think our game last year was on ABC down there.
I think we were on channel six.

Speaker 9 (01:22:17):
Mm. Okay, thank god.

Speaker 10 (01:22:18):
I remember like watching them back and like there's just
some bad angles in the in the.

Speaker 9 (01:22:22):
I mean right, watching the game last ye two weeks ago,
it was just you couldn't see part of the field
from where the camera had to be set up. It
was yeah, it was. It was rough. So it would
anticipate that's how it's going to go.

Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
But we'll find out.

Speaker 9 (01:22:35):
I'm not the executive. I don't make any decisions. I'm
just here, but I'm happy to be here on bys
not Line with Chris Hansen and Jake Cava. We're gonna

Yeah, anyway, I'm an old military bedroom and I just
wanted to ask maybe Jake would I don't know if
he'd remember, but you guys would remember. There was the
most interesting play I've ever seen, and I wish that
they would used Johnny Gores on this. It was Ryan

(01:28:03):
Smith and all they all lined up, you know, and
kind of hit him and went in. You know, I
don't know if it was a third down, but you know,
it was like they pointed that there was a fumble,
you know or something, and then all of a sudden,
Ryan Smith came out the back and cruised over to
the left and boomed he was in for the score.

(01:28:25):
Can they ever bring one of those plays back? Or
can you guys ever get that to them?

Speaker 7 (01:28:32):
You know, I do have your relationship with a lot of.

The You remember that play, I.

Do, I do.

Speaker 10 (01:28:38):
Yeah, It's it's called hide the midget Briden not a
politically correct term, but that's what the play is called.

I do remember that.

Speaker 9 (01:28:46):
I playoffs.

Speaker 24 (01:28:51):
Yeah, after that play that, you know, the other stsu
or whoever, they were totally demoral I just totally off
their game after that.

Speaker 7 (01:29:02):
You punked us.

Speaker 9 (01:29:03):
Yep, they had all of the linemen stood up straight,
none of them got down in any type of three
point stance. Snapped the ball, handed it off to him
and nobody moved. Yep, nobody moved, and then Smith jumped
around the around the left side. It was I remember
because Brent Vegan was the offensive coordinator at that time.
In my where I was at in the press box
was right underneath where the offensive staff was, and I

(01:29:26):
remember looking up at him and that grin could have
reached both end zones on his face. After after Smith
scored on that one.

Speaker 7 (01:29:33):
No, I think I.

Speaker 44 (01:29:34):
Thought your guys' assignment to get that rolling, Okay, put Jacob.

Speaker 9 (01:29:40):
There, we go. Thanks melt.

Speaker 7 (01:29:43):
Yep, Johnny Gores.

Speaker 10 (01:29:44):
But no, we've actually talked about this being some buddies
on that currently on the team that you know when
you kind of have all known for someone and so
many different personnels, so there is a guy on each
staff that is watching what personnel's come in the game
and saying, okay, twelve thirteen. So if we had a
way to sub in, you know, like maybe Cadence Zenzen
and stoppable and like put John Gors kind of behind,

(01:30:06):
it's just like in there and they get him the huddle,
get him next to Gray and Mason like it.

Speaker 7 (01:30:10):
It could be a dynamite play. I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Yeah, at any time. Now obviously you're on the defense,
you don't deal with it. But how many trick gadget
plays do you think Indias who has on a sheet
that would play it at a point to put in?

Speaker 10 (01:30:25):
I think probably every week to week we probably go
into a game with three. Okay, like there's always we
have like our it's not really a trick play, but
it's like the end of game down, you need a
touchdown like kind of throat like there's a method to
the madness of like when all these teams are on
the pitch play Yeah, like when they throw it short
and then try there's like an actual like scheme behind
that that you're trying to execute.

Speaker 7 (01:30:44):
Obviously it doesn't go very well. It's hard to pull off.

Speaker 10 (01:30:46):
But so we have that play and then there's there's
always you know, Rajah was a high school quarterback, so
we saw the play against Montana didn't work out very well.
But I think that's always in the little double pass.
But there's always a couple you have with but hopefully
you don't need them. But the Johnny Gore is on
could be uh oh, he'd be.

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
A he'd be a great he'd be a great one
contested for that. It makes me think too. I was
watching a replay I think it was I think it
was Sam Ocho, the former NFL guy, was breaking down
on Twitter the touchdown that Detroit scored against Green Bay
and it was the running back, but it wasn't the
running back. It was on ra st Brownfield was in

(01:31:23):
the backfield on the touchdown and like was crouched over
intentionally so that the defense could not see his jersey, right,
and they're like and you could and he's watched the
confusion from the defense because they're trying to fight backs
over there. But then wait a minute, and he ended
up didn't get the ball. But that kind of deception

(01:31:43):
of small little things like that, like my goodness.

Speaker 10 (01:31:46):
And then that's where you'd hope not to, you know,
pump my when you got kind of a veteran old
wiley vet D lineman and linebacker and then all of
a sudden, oh, there's a five six John Gores in
the backfield.

Speaker 7 (01:31:56):
I wonder what like that? You would hope you have
a defensive guy.

Speaker 10 (01:31:58):
But you know, when when the bolts are fine and
the hear of the game, sometimes that does get missed.

Speaker 7 (01:32:02):
Like I mean, those guys should probably know who aman
Ros said.

Speaker 10 (01:32:06):
I don't, right, he would think like, oh, number and Rod,
the best, one of the best players in the entire NFL,
is bending over like he's like, what's going on here?

Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
And he came running out and there was nobody on
that side, and I would think that was the first
touchdown to Patrick that got through and and he was
I mean, if you want to, he could have hit him.
He was wide hoping too. But anyway, it's those kind
of little things that if you could, you know, adjust
and tinker with it. I'm because India. Shoot, I'm just
trying to think this year, there hasn't been much. We
had a play of the deception need I think maybe

(01:32:36):
I think I remember a flea flicker. Yep, Cole Payton,
I think is what I'm remembering, where he ran it
and pitched it back.

Speaker 9 (01:32:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:32:45):
No, it was the first play he was in. What
game was that?

Speaker 45 (01:32:48):
You?

Speaker 10 (01:32:48):
Indeed Cole Payton's first play they ran after a turnover to.

Speaker 7 (01:32:52):
Start the third quarter.

Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
I thought was that, Okay, we got.

Speaker 10 (01:32:54):
Sack fumble and then they ran a fleet flicker and
Cole Peyton hit.

Speaker 7 (01:32:57):
I think it was Bryce, But.

Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
Oh sure, back get healthy, let's get some wins.

Speaker 9 (01:33:03):
There you go, there you go. We did see one
attempted trick play today did not go great calling the
fake punt on fourth and eleven or twelve year they
got they got within two yards, but you had a
really successful play and ended up being two yards short.
It's kind of felt like one of those where we
have this installed, we think it's gonna work. This may

(01:33:27):
not be the time to use it, but we got
to use it.

Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
Well, we're not playing tomorrow we didn't lose this game,
so let's try to win it.

Speaker 7 (01:33:32):
And that's a lot so on.

Speaker 10 (01:33:33):
Like so we have punt fakes in every week and
it's on the gunner so I know it's Truman or
not the gun or the personal protector Truman.

Speaker 7 (01:33:40):
Where myer he gets the call on that.

Speaker 10 (01:33:42):
So you have you install this fake punt we have
and based on the numbers he sees, it's on Truman,
Like Truman can go up there and I'm not gonna
say what the check.

Speaker 7 (01:33:50):
Is, but he can call the check sure, and then
we run it. So that could be something where they
installed that.

Speaker 10 (01:33:54):
Okay, if they line up in this formation, they're a
little overloaded to the left and we have the numbers,
we're gonna run. That was like jam you uh the
fake put the fake fake field goal, fake field goal
to Hendricks. Yeah, that was like one of those things
we saw, like we knew Jamu all season was gonna
be short on the left side of the line and
Hendricks is are holding. You're like if you see if
you go out there, it wasn't called. It was one

(01:34:15):
of those things where Hendry's like, Okay, they wind up
in it. I'm I'm just gonna take off and run
and went to the line and I don't know what
the word was, like omahan or something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:34:24):
And yeah, I remember him talking about that exact thing
on Hotline last year. I think it was that he
had talked about that too. He's like, he was, you
almost don't believe what you see exactly because you watched
it so many times and they were, you know, and
meetings were all always on it, like if they have
eight over here and six over here, you do it.

(01:34:45):
And he's like, and I remember him saying, I couldn't
believe that I was actually about to do it.

Speaker 7 (01:34:49):
And that's one of those things where like if you
you're like, if.

Speaker 1 (01:34:51):
I mess this up, like I'm gonna look like the food.

Speaker 7 (01:34:54):
Yeah, And I think if you ever listened to Pat
mciwe sure.

Speaker 10 (01:34:56):
I think Pat mcfew talks about one where they had
a fake, fake field or whatever.

Speaker 7 (01:35:00):
With same thing with the Steelers. The Steelers would always.

Speaker 10 (01:35:03):
Line up in this formation and then the one time
he's gonna run it, he's like talking about the Angel
of Death. Troy Paul Mall just lines up exactly like
every single snap he was over here, and on this
one play when macfeel was gonna fake it.

Speaker 7 (01:35:14):
Troy Palm all lined up right in front of him,
and he's like the angel of death lines up.

Speaker 9 (01:35:19):
All right, what are we talking about? One other text,
We did get in any word on Jake Rock's injury,
So you're not going to get the word on that
right after the game. You never like to see a
Ligneman go down and grab a knee. That's always not
a not a good sign. But I'm sure we'll get something,
whether it's this weekend or early in the week find

(01:35:40):
out what that is. Yeah, usually a little bit of time.

Speaker 10 (01:35:41):
I'm sure he got x rays after the game and
they'll get an MRI on it tomorrow, and you know,
doctor Piett, doctor Newtan will kind of make the call
and we'll see if he's That's one thing.

Speaker 7 (01:35:50):
Though, we got younger guys.

Speaker 8 (01:35:51):
I know.

Speaker 7 (01:35:54):
Jack Lewinsky has played reps this year.

Speaker 10 (01:35:57):
When MP was like, so we have some death of
the old line experienced such a conscious the Bozeman block.

Speaker 7 (01:36:03):
Dude, he's waiting in the waiting in the wings.

Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
Six foot eight whatever it is.

Speaker 9 (01:36:07):
Now there you go, all right, we're going to take

Time for more reaction from today's game. Cure a game
as your host, Andy Rickoff.

Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
Nicol the fake opt to play right side. Pitch to
Martitez stubling forward. He's starting to line the game at
the forty four. He needed the forty six. Tackle at
the forty four and the Bison will take over on
the fake Abilene. Christian tried to gamble and they ran
the option fake pot Nickel pitched it to Martitez.

Speaker 7 (01:40:42):
He needed a ton of yardage.

Speaker 9 (01:40:44):
It was a thirteen yard line the game.

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
Chris Harris had the initial trip and Ryan Jones made
the tackle. Bison will take over at the Abilene forty four.

Speaker 9 (01:40:55):
It felt desperate in the moment. Ended up being a
fifty one to thirty one win for indsu uh again,
last last game of the year. Can't take can't hold
anything back now but not quite enough. That would have
been would have been interesting how that would have changed
the momentum had they gotten it. Buteah really swung things exact.

Speaker 1 (01:41:13):
That fake pun came off the sequence of the crowd
noise really getting nuts there in the south. The snap,
he was not ready for it, centered zings it past him.
They was it third and like twenty eighth or something
like that.

Speaker 9 (01:41:28):
Six.

Speaker 1 (01:41:28):
Yeah, it ran a nice play to pick up the
chunk yardage thirteen is that's a heck of a lot
of yards to have to pick up.

Speaker 7 (01:41:35):
It's always tough as a head coach.

Speaker 10 (01:41:36):
You know, you want to be aggressive and you know
you're obviously a massive underdog coming to the Fargo Dome
playing you know, NBSU.

Speaker 7 (01:41:43):
But where do you draw the line at? Okay, this
is a calculated risk.

Speaker 10 (01:41:47):
Or I'm just gonna kind of be called dumb play,
like where is that line?

Speaker 7 (01:41:50):
And that's right.

Speaker 10 (01:41:51):
You know, that's tough as the head coach because you
have to kind of find extra possessions to win the game.

Speaker 7 (01:41:56):
But at what point, like, okay, let's just pun it
away and we kind of got these guys. Was it
was it seventeen three at that point?

Speaker 9 (01:42:03):
Let me that was seventeen ten.

Speaker 7 (01:42:06):
Seventeen ten.

Speaker 9 (01:42:07):
That was right after the Williams return return.

Speaker 7 (01:42:11):
Yeah, so like offense hadn't really been doing much.

Speaker 9 (01:42:14):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:42:15):
It's tough.

Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
That's why they get paid the big bucks you had,
or unless you just told you the guy just decided
to do it, which yeah, yeah, well we don't know
that either. But nonetheless, I think that maybe. Yeah, they
had started at that point like wow, the momentum is
maybe shifting back, getting away from us, and like we
better make some luck. And didn't work out for him today.

Speaker 9 (01:42:35):
It did not. All of our game week coverage for

We have six and a half days to get ready
for it.

Speaker 7 (01:43:22):
Yeah, everyone has a plan to get punched in the mouth.

Speaker 9 (01:43:24):
So there it is. What happens there it is. So
we'll find out, like I said, later tonight or tomorrow

Speaker 1 (01:43:48):
Women pick up a huge win.

Speaker 9 (01:43:50):
The win today, yes, so solid day and then basketball
going on right now. I don't have any brought up
the score, but Sam Niederman is going to be that
he's gonna need a lozenge by the time and done.

Speaker 1 (01:44:01):
He was questionable going in. We talked to him yesterday
on the air with Chris John and Corey in the
morning on Bob ninety five them. Yeah, he he came in.
He's like, man, I've really been last two days. I've
really been fighting the throat. And I said, what happens,
like if you can't go and like in this situation,
Andy was out of town. Yeah, your name got brought up.
Oh no, that you might be the emergency quarterback.

Speaker 7 (01:44:23):
Put all three of us in the boot with Phil.
Let's go.

Speaker 9 (01:44:27):
The last basketball game that I called was a couple
of weeks ago. That was the matchup against Crookston. The
basketball team might not want me anywhere.

Speaker 7 (01:44:33):
Uplifted your curse. Today could have been.

Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
The race that got the mojo going on the right way.

Speaker 9 (01:44:39):
Yeah, that's right, that's right. Well, Andy Rickoff, good news
for everybody, Andy Rickoff. I believe we'll be back next week.
So anything anything good that happens, we'll give it to him.
Anything bad that happens, we're gonna blame him too. So
all right, thanks to everybody here today, Roman and Jake
