Great to be here. The non conference season comes to
an end with the w Yes made it through all
three games, I think without any major injury bug. That's
number one. Number one's win all three year.

Obviously number two is come out of them healthy end
of the bye week and NDSU mission accomplished, and all
three of those.

Things mission accomplished in all front, Sirgeain, That's what I
would say on that one forty one to fourteen, Like
we said, the twenty seventh straight home opening win for NDSU.
The last time they lost the home opener they'll go
back to nineteen ninety eight, so it's been quite a while.
And today if folks don't know, this win number two
hundred inside the Fargo Dome today, built in nineteen ninety three,
the two hundredth win for ENDSU inside of the Dome today.

That makes their record all time at home in the
Fargo Doome again since nineteen ninety three, two hundred and
twenty nine, two hundred and twenty nine.

twenty seventeen, and they have never in the forgarn Homes history,
lost a non conference regular season game since moving d one.

Huh, that's a lot to un Yeah, there's been some
years where it's been the Robert Morris. There's been some
years where it's been the Valpo. But there have been

Playoff games too, and most of those whereas.

For the non conference season opener, there's been Eastern Washington,
there was Charleston southerns twenty sixteen.

There is an overtime game. There is a Cooper Cup
game with Eastern Washington.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I mean it's not like every
one of them is been a cupcake paycheck. Some of
them have been serious ball games.

Yeah.

You've had a Montana in here before. You've had Montana
stating here in the playoffs as well. Those games have
happened throughout the years. I think of obviously James Madison
in the Dome. They they're the one that that is
the one on that blip of the radar, right, the
one non conference team was a postseason game, which you
got him back for that as well a couple of
years later with destin telbrit in the end zone and

the pick of Destiny. But two hundred wins now two
hundred and twenty nine all time record inside the Forgo Dome.

Do we do the math on that?

Is there around ninety percent? Does that sound well?

Again, I'm not good at maths. A calculator on that
guess to be ninety ish percentw Pretty good is what
I would say. It's not bad, pretty darn tough to
beat ANDYSU gets the win today forty one four team.
You want your thoughts today on the program seven zero

I go through those ones. We'll go through our player
of the game, our highlight of the game. We'll go
through the Jiffy lupa Fargo scoreboard. Lots of interesting games
that came down to literally the last play of the
game throughout the FCS. Today we're talking you in D
at Montana. We'll tell you how that one finished, because
it is a doozy. How about USD surviving somehow against

Northern Colorado, who I think messed things up at the
end of that game. They win in overtime. USD does
over Northern Colorado to get their first win of the season,
and a whole host of other games that were pretty close.
I'm pretty competitive in the Missouri Valley Football Conference and
the FCS overall, and then a couple of FBS scorers
that were a mighty interesting, including one that just finished
here at Applebee's north of the Fargo Dome forty four

to forty one Georgia over Tennessee in overtime. A missed
field goal in that game as well. It proves to
be pretty costly for Old Tennessee. But we're here with Andy,
Jake and Chris for the next hour and a half

No, I think Cole he was he was on time
with his throws obviously, you know, Simo gave us a
lot of man coverage. And if you're gonna be any season,
run the footballright, we're gonna hanger hat on running the football.
You're gonna get that single coverage on the outside and
Cole Payton to do what we need to do. He
put the ball where it needed to be and I
think what was the nerd stat? I think it was
the most passing yards we've had.

Yes, So here you go Cole Payton on today's game.
These are Cole Payton's just passing numbers, right. The rushing
is whatever, sixteen of twenty three, so seventy percent completion percentage,
good number. Obviously, three hundred and forty eight yards, four touchdowns,
no interceptions. He is the first quarterback to throw four
touchdowns in a game since Cam Miller did it last

year against Missouri State in November. So Cam did that
one last year. How about the three hundred and forty
eight passing yards. He is the first quarterback over three
hundred yards in the game since you had Trey Lance
do it with three hundred and thirteen passing yards in
twenty nineteen. As the last person to go over three hundred,
which means already I'm telling you, Cole Peyton did something

Cam Miller never did. And I love Cam. This is
not a throw Cam Miller shade or anything segment. Okay,
I love Cam Miller, but he never threw for over
three hundred yards today. That happened from Cole Payton with
three forty eight. He finished third today with three hundred
and forty eight. Third most passing yards in a single
game in Bison history, the most passing yards since Steve

Walker threw for four point fifty one at ball State
in two thousand and six.

We rest our case. That's all I have to say
about that.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
If you call in and say Cole Payton can't throw,
you get hung up on it. I think that's worthy
of it.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Today I would think so. Yeah, he showed the medal today.
They came out and they were going to attack what
had been advertised as a weak defense. You thought, maybe
they're gonna be able to sling the ball around, and
you saw it with the one play they had miscoverages
crossing route BAM sixty seventy yard touchdown.

Yep.

So their defense I think was right for the picking.
I don't want to say they just went away from
the running game, but it seemed like that was obviously
gonna be the game playing today was we're gonna throw
the ball and for Ndysu to throw. Yeah, you had
a couple of big ones in there. Twenty three throws
is a pretty day. But I'm for Nbasu if you
get above twenty it seems like you threw the ball.

Four play the last couple of series any exactly.

And didn't play much of the four. So well done
there today. The defense, other than you know, the one
big play they give up then after that settling down
only giving up one more score through the rest of
the game. They definitely took care of business.

right off the jump. By the way, Cole Payton also
ran for fifty three yards, so that would be over.

had a pretty good day at the office for Oll

Well, hey, gentlemen, it's great to be back.

We won forty one fourteen. I'm doing well well.

Speaker 8 (10:03):
I'll tell you what. First off, not only can Cole
Peyton throw the ball, if we were to go to war,
I'd put him in charge of missile command. Gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yes, he had some spirals out there today. Icon.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
Yeah, here's my question. And this was the I guess
this was your carrier of the game. Now, I was
watching that on replay and I was on that side
of the field. He clearly did not step out of bounds,
even though they said that he did. Why did we
not call for replay?

Speaker 9 (10:37):
And they were more worried about getting the clock we
set and we ended up getting a delayed game penalty.
Cad you guys talk about that, and also the fact
that und lost by one point and uh, you know,
it's a couple of ways away yet, but sees I
was health to Gooch to stay lost all their players

when their coaches left. I think we're gonna role to
an undefeated regular season.

Undefeatetered regular season. Sounds pretty good to everybody at this table.
Long ways to go for that. Obviously you got three though,
three down, a few more of them to go. Valley
plays still on the horizon in one more non conference
game with Saint Thomas, also at the end of the season. Yeah,
the DJ Scott play he's talking about there late where
they called him out at the three. Look close like
he was near the sideline. I don't think the heel

came down, so I don't think he was out of bounds.
One of those where probably think around the three, we're
gonna punch it in. Anyways, maybe you don't challenge it,
and unfortunately then you get the delay of game and
then the sack, but they still be able to punch
it into the en zone.

Anyways, Well, what you should have done is you just
called the timeout, because the timeout kind of solves every time.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
I think they were thinking like, do we challenge do
we not? And all of a sudden, now we're asking
for the clock to get said, it wasn't gonna get reset.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
The time out, the timeout is irrelevant.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Use it.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
At that point, I'm with you, don't take the extra
five yards. I realize everyone's got their hands up. They're
trying to you know, like, could you reset They're not
going to call time out. Yeah, you're right there complaining
about the play call. Just call the time out before
it hit zero.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
People, Drowan did reset it with like five second stuff. Okay,
but it gets onto three, they're clearly going to reset
it now called the timeout.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
If they realized that it didn't get reset, they will
give you the time out back and they'll put it
at twenty five. So calling time out is the only
way to avoid all of that commotion, right, and you
probably get a replay, and you probably get a replay
because it's a little extra time now. The first half,
I like the timeout that he called just to say
something to the officials on a horrible pass interference call.
I love that time. I wish there'd have been another

one taken and that spot didn't matter. They score anyway
on a pass play from sixteen yards, but still call
timeout and all of that is negated. You one timeout
blankets all of it.

Yeah, I thought the reffing performance was a little spot.
I think back. Obviously he did not step out of bounds.
And then in the fourth quarter, Rajan Nelson got targeted
on that pass over the medal well, I watched that
over like two times. I mean it was hel much
to how much contact? Why are we like we're talking about,
you know, player safety, player safety?

I had a flag on it, right, was it called passengers?

Noboe?

It was a third down okay, this is the one
in the fourth gotcha?

But he it was the one over the middle. He
had it got targeted. We didn't review it. I'm like,
why does that.

Now that can't be challenged. That's more of a than
you go to the review.

The flag that got thrown on, the reference into the
way camera guy, and then the pass interference that was
nowhere to be found.

It was an interesting day for the refs. They're still
getting their bearings too.

It's week three, yeah, you know, up and down, and
at the end of the day's still forty one to fourteen.

making some big big plays throughout the game. Have a

went through the cool Peyton stats in the first segment.
How he's the first quarterback over three hundred passing yard
since Trey Lance. He's got the third most in a
single game in Bison history. How about we go on

the Bryce Lance out of this today. Bryce Lance his
numbers to being pretty quiet in the first two games,
at least to his standards, right, not getting in the
end zone. Four receptions, one fifty nine and a touchdown.
It's an average of thirty nine point eight yards per catch.
I was targeted eight times and up one drop in
there for being honest, but that was a new career

(19:21):
high in a single game for Bryce. Already, he is
the first Bison receiver over one hundred and fifty or
between one hundred and fifty to one hundred ninety nine yards,
but over one hundred and fifty really since Zach Mathis
in twenty twenty three against Missouri State. I was on
the silence for that game, and a couple of one
handed catches Zack did in that game and Treel Owens
was on the side also, remember that was point we

(19:42):
had him on the air. We got an interview with
Terrell Owens in that game. But the first guy over
one hundred and fifty receiving yards in the game since
Zach Mathis. He also ends up with the fourth most
receiving yards in the single game in the D one
era for NDSU number five. Pretty special and showed it
today with that catch. But also so of course the
big touchdown. He just outran everybody.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Yeah, it was cool to see.

Speaker 7 (20:04):
I mean, obviously someone picked Bryce to be his performance,
but no good to see.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
That was a good battle early on between Bryce and
Barrika for my player, and then Bryce just took over.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
But it was just good to see.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
You know, we know what Bryce is capable of, capable
of to see him, you know, get involved in that
offense and for Cole Payton to get him give him
the ball and start kind of building that chemistry between
Cole and Bryce that we know that obviously Cam and
Bryce had last year, but just for Cole Peyton to
start becoming more comfortable and Bryce to become comfortable with
Cole throwing him the ball.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
And it's always difficult I imagine when you are the
key player. I mean, he is the most dangerous no
offense to anyone else, the most dangerous offensive weapon in
NDSU has at one one point, right, So you're constantly
battling against their game planning to shut you down, right,
So when you can do it, when that's happening, that's
even more amazing. So to have the kind of game

(20:54):
that he had today of not a lot of reps,
but boy, everyone he got he made, he made use
of it out.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
I will say NDSU, I think Simo was kind of
trying to stop the running attack. That's what they came
in saying, we're already giving up at two hundred and thirteen.
I think it was yards per game on the ground.
NDSU will run it. We're gonna have to commit some
numbers up there. Didn't really work, as NDSU still in
for two hundred and fourteen, but that allowed more single
high safety, allowed more one on one looks for Bryce,

(21:21):
and that's complimentary football. When your running game is as
dominant as it is, they're going to get one on
one matchup se receivers, and then the receivers are as
dominant as they are as well, and there's that balance
you have on offense right now, you.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Talk about the two hundred win inside the Fargo Dome today,
in two hundred and twenty nine all time at home,
there have been two hundred and twenty nine teams who
have came into the Fargo Doom and said we're going
to stop their running game.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Right like that seven that have done it. Probably that
is right.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
That is the battle cry for everyone who plays NDSU,
because that is the number one thing you think of,
and it's easier said than done. And today's teams, unlike
teams twenty years ago, twenty five years ago, thirty years ago,
today's teams will take the top off and they will
wrote down the field on you. And that's how they
won the game today.

before Bison Hotline, and I heard Sam, Phil and Noah

like maybe this didn't play super crisp up front and

a six per carry, So pretty good day in the
ground there for Barrika was my player watch. I get

best among them today for NDYSUE, he had eleven carries

gonna be a lot of pressure and stuff shifting moving

to do that to create negative plays to hopefully say
in a game like this, which they didn't, but that
it was a test for our young offensive vinman, how
are you going to deal with that? You don't see
a whole lot of three down fronts of the Missouri Valley,
it's gonna be a lot of four down just base
defense like NDSU plays. So I think they didn't do

They didn't get an A plus with it. Absolutely, offensive
line needs to be better. Coach at Chimura yep Chewi. Yeah,
he's they're gonna fix that up. But there's a lot
of growth that needs to happen from right now and
the end of the season in our line.

Also, coach Schimura took part in the Bison Softball hit
a thon today raising money for their nil and I.

want to see your teammates can see succeed at the

of getting tested in the passing game. Overall, passing great,
I'd say on that test obviously for a series busted
coverage there, big play, can't have that happened. How'd you
think after that play they played in the secondary today,
the first time they've really been testing.

The only thing that I didn't like was, and this
was again coverages, was it seemed like on some of
those third down and sixes they were able to get

if the linebackers are already ten yards deep and you
