(00:00):
Welcome to the Blogging Mindset Podcast, where I hope you gain clarity, focus
and inspiration to boost your blogging results. Hey there, listener, and welcome
back to another episode of the BloggingMindset Podcast with me Miles Halter, and
today it's Mindset Monday, and we'rediving into a topic that I believe is
valuable in the blogging world. Bloggingwinners have systems and blogging losers have goals.
(00:25):
The original quote is winners have systems, losers have goals by Scott Adams.
But quickly, before we cover thetopic, I invite you to join
out my new Facebook group, theBlogging Mindset Community. Now back to the
show, and before we jump in, let's make one thing clear. Having
goals is not a bad thing.Goals give you direction, motivation, and
(00:47):
a sense of purpose. However, what separates successful bloggers from the rest is
the way they approach these goals.Imagine you set a goal to publish a
new blog post every day. That'sgreat, it gives you something to strive
for. But what happens when lifegets in the way, Your job becomes
busier, you have personal commitments,or you hit writer's block. Suddenly that
(01:08):
goal seems daunting, and it's easyto become discouraged. This is where systems
come into play. Systems are theprocesses and routines that you put in place
to consistently work towards your goals. They're the daily or weekly habits that keep
you on track, regardless of theobstacle's life throws in your way. Let's
break this down further. Suppose yourgoal is to increase your blog's traffic.
(01:32):
A goal oriented blogger might say,I want to double my blog post traffic
in six months. That's a greatgoal, but without a system in place,
it is merely a wish. Onthe other hand, a system's oriented
blogger will say, all right, and publish three high quality blog posts per
week, optimize them for SEO,and promote them on social media. Here
(01:52):
you have a specific plan of action. You're creating a system to consistently produce
valuable content and drive traffic to yourblog. Now, let's explore some practical
steps to shift from a goal focusmindset to a system's oriented One. Number
one is to set clear goals.Start by defining your blogging goals. These
(02:12):
are essential as they give you yoursense of direction and give you a way
to build your systems. Number two, identify key processes. Break down your
goals into smaller actionable steps or processes. These are the building blocks of your
systems. Some processes I implement inmy own blogging are using featured image templates.
(02:34):
I create these using Canva. Lookat the Themisle blog for featured image
template inspiration. Keyword batching and planning. By having a large batch of keywords,
I can choose and write a blogpost based on a keyword phrase I'm
inspired to write about. Planning blogposts are on other content I need to
make, such as YouTube videos, social media posts or podcasts, and creating
(02:59):
out lines with artificial intelligence assistance.Three, create a routine. Develop a
routine or schedule that allows you towork on these processes regularly. Consistency is
key. I suggest choosing a timewhen you're least likely to be distracted.
For me, this is in themorning, and there's no need to overschedule
(03:21):
yourself. I personally aim to writeblog posts for one hour a day minimum.
That's just writing and nothing else relatedto blogging, such as monetization,
website design, technical SEO, networking, and link building. These need to
be separate processes, so you canfocus on what's most important, which is
creating high quality content. Four,Monitor and adjust. Continuously evaluate your systems.
(03:46):
Are they helping you make progress towardsyour goals. If not, be
prepared to adjust and improve. FiveSeek accountability. Share your goals and systems
with a friend, fellow blogger,or accountability partner. They can help keep
you on track. You could alsojoin a mastermind with like minded bloggers.
Remember, blogging is a long game. It's not just about achieving one goal.
(04:11):
It's about creating a sustainable system thatkeeps you consistently moving forward. It's
about building a body of work thatreflects your passion and expertise. So the
next time you set a blogging goal, ask yourself, what system can I
put in place to make this happen. It's the systems that will ultimately lead
you to become a blogging winner. That's it for today's episode of the Blogging
(04:33):
