Speaker 1 (00:00):
Him Bob Peggett. Welcome to Bob Pickett Radio, The Daily Podcast.
Well at least Monday through Friday. Anyway, Hey, our subject
today good friend of mine, Clay Walker. I've been a
clay Walker fan, well since he first, you know, burst
on the scene in the early nineties. I mean, what's
it to you?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Man?
Speaker 1 (00:16):
What a great song, of course, and many other songs
Live until I Die, Hypnotize the Moon. I think that's
my favorite. Hypnotized the Moon with clay Walker. Anyway, just
ran to clay a few weeks ago, and I went
back to a bunch of earlier interviews that I have.
One time when I saw clay Walker, we well, this
story kind of explained itself. You're not going to believe
who was working on clay Walker's to our bus.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Okay, Now, last time we visited a couple of years ago,
we were on the bus and hurd some noise below,
and it was Richie McDonald do something to your bus.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, it's crazy, right, visually been on the lead singer
for a long storrow it used to be. Yeah, So
we had a problem with our bus and he climbed.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Under there and fixed it, and I'm like, hey, we're
not making this up. I mean fort Worth. He got
the part and came back and fixed it. I didn't
know this. My driver said, Diego was one of the
guys in their group. But to go get get a part.
He's gonna fix your bus. They got back. It's Richie
Richie Cots climbing out and I said, what did you
do to you, Jack? Because I'm a bust mechanic among
other things.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Did you get a good ward? He deal? I mean
was the last more of than ninety days.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
We've never had another problem.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yes, I never knew that Richie McDonald was an auto mechanic.
Did you also another story? In fact, Clee told the
story when he was at the Rodeo Austin Gala a
few weeks ago. One time at a concert. You're not
gonna believe that this story, but Clay Walker dressed up
as Bevo, the University of Texas mascot. I mean he
put out in a complete costume, but uh, the disguise
(01:40):
didn't last long.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
One time before he took the stage in Austin, Texas,
he dressed up as the Nursity of Texas mascot, dressed
up in the Bego costume, nobody knew what it was
him until they looked down and saw his ostrich boots.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
That true story, right, I'm not a rumor. I'm glad
you remember. The dis was Hollow Night. I think it
was at the frank Urban Center. Yeah, Halloween night. Dixie
Chicks are opening for us. And so I thought, I'm
gonna go into the crowd, you know, and wear this
where the bos I planned it out.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
And so I wear Bebo. You know, it's like it's
Halloween some walking through the crowd. I wanted to see
what it felt like to be out there. And it
sold out of work thousands of people. And and just
another time I made it close to the stage. Someone
kept looking in and out like this, looking in my eyes.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
And I'm like, they can't see you get a maskot.
They looked at my boots and they said it's Walker.
Oh my gosh, I've been spotted. Like it's impossible, you know,
but it was.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
It was. You have that Bebo costume on the boat.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
All my Aggie friends man some to this.
