Speaker 2 (00:50):
Welcome Man is Brother Edwards with Sep not today today
burn will be going by somebody that you know, somebody
may which his name is Ands and Wells. He is
the heck with the Michigan State Assen. What's up man,
it's been a minute. How have you been. I've been
telling me the thing.
Speaker 6 (01:04):
I've been fantastic.
Speaker 7 (01:05):
I love filling in on all the shows, but there's
spills like home my friend and I know we've got
our loyal chat here today, so I brought some gifts.
Speaker 6 (01:15):
In fact, I went.
Speaker 7 (01:16):
For a whole night looking through all of your sports cards. Yeah,
and I found what I believe to be the best
looking one.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Before you get into that car, let me bring something
to everyone's attention. In about twenty minutes, we will be
joined by Big Noon Kickoff analyst Brady Quinn. You see
that card, It made me think about him. He is
also one of my former teammates and one of my
favorite people in the world. Will ask him some questions
as it wasted his alma minter Notre Dame, coming off
from fourteen and two season last year, asking him about
Michigan and we think Sharon Brice will be and maybe
(01:44):
a couple other questions. Then we'll get into some Lion stuff.
I know he loves Dan Cambell. He was one of
the guys answering. He's one of the first people to
tell me that Detroit Lions and Dan calmb we're serious.
This is twenty twenty one, so we'll be joined about
nineteen minutess So, speaking of time, did you see we
started on town that something else we want to bring
to you to a clock telling you better get here
one fifty nine starting now because we're ready to rock,
(02:07):
am ro answer, tell us about the cards.
Speaker 7 (02:09):
This card is a mister Braylan Edwards one handing a ball.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Is that cornerback? Good? Now?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
This is interesting because usually come here with the same card,
and I think people over times like, oh, I really
appreciate the card, but it's the same one. This is
a new one I told people, and I have the proof.
Thank you answer. I never got stuck on Rivers Island.
I think it's one of the best dv's to play
in the NFL. I didn't get stuck on Rivers Island.
And this card right here, pass that over, if you
could pass that over, if you will, let.
Speaker 7 (02:39):
Me get those long arms you got that.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Little zoom in and show you this piece right here.
You see that right there, one hand catcher Rooney that's
in the end zone. This this would have been December,
give or take December of two thousand and seven, right over.
Speaker 6 (02:56):
The silver autograph. This card. I want to keep it
from my self, guys, but.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
It wasn't Now I will say it wasn't. Too many
of those on revis It wasn't a lot of those
in practice.
Speaker 8 (03:05):
How your memory of when you see something like that,
how vivid is the memory of that play?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
I know the exact player. We were on the four
yard line. It was a run pass option. If they
played if they played zone, then we were going to
run the ball with Jamal Lewis. If they played cover zero,
then they would just gave me a shot them fade.
They played cover zero, they threw it up. And you know,
Dereck Anderson, all we ask is wide receivers, same thing
that somebody else who got the starting job as a
third wide receiver Detroit Lions and Isaac Tesla. Congratulations, Detroit
(03:35):
Lions move on from Tim Patrick. And just like Matt
Shepard said, Isaac Tesla would be your three going into
the season. But all we asked is big body receivers,
Jared Goff, just give Tesla a chance. You see him
in the zone, you see it one one. Just give
him an opportunity. You don't throw the ball at the ball.
And that's what Dereck Anderson did in that moment. He
gave me an opportunity. I made a play. Winning that game.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Derek Anderson won me a Fantasy Championship.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Two thousand seven sixteen touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
You know.
Speaker 7 (04:03):
In fact, we had our fantasy league. The other night,
we had our draft.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
We talked about it yesterday. Kool Aid and I actually
opened up against each other.
Speaker 7 (04:12):
Well, I brought into something here to show our people
at home watching what day Braylan did with his four picks.
I'm gonna pick on you a little bit here, my friend.
I apologize kol Age. You got those first four picks
for us.
Speaker 9 (04:26):
I got those picks, man, I just bray I'm sorry
man that I that I gotta be complisted in this.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
It's not a it's not a super flax.
Speaker 7 (04:34):
You can only start what quarterback man.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Is what it is like. My plan was to draft
two quarterbacks and then lobby them holding somebody's head, holding
for ransom. I told you I'm not a fantasy guy.
I don't care like y'all care.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
You didn't care a little too much.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I don't care enough. At end of the day, I
wanted Lamar Jackson. That was it. Outside of that, I
wanted Isaac Tesla that had some fun and rocking and
Rowland like I don't. I don't care about the initial
draft because any fantasy you gotta work throughout the season.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
That is key.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
That's why that's why I'm actually and Ricky pointed it out,
I appreciate. That's why I'm actually not bad is working
it out during the season. This is a game. Maybe
because experience, I can know who might rock in the
game or who might be on and make that trade.
The draft I suck. I would agree this is this
is a bad draft. This lady, you're gonna be able
(05:24):
to trade good.
Speaker 10 (05:25):
In a couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Watch Watch, Watch when the season start and you realize
the DK Metcalfe and Aaron Rodgers haven't tapped in. Watch
when the season starts.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
I don't mind the DK pick. I don't mind him
mcaffre pick.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I don't mind them Lamar quarterbacks in the fourth round.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
Yeah, that was literally.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I did it wrong. What I was supposed to do
is I was supposed to draft Jet Lamar, No, what
was it? Lamar and Josh Allen and hold Josh Allen
for ransom.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
You would be able to hold him ransom for sure.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
But you know what, UH wasn't necessarily paying attention to
have other things going on we're doing the draft. Maybe
a little bit of little little oregano if you will,
that's essential. But uh yeah, let me.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
Catch them up on what's going on here today real
quick with these cards.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
I have a number in mind, guys.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
It's eighty. If you guys, get over eighty. This amazing.
This is the baddest bobblehead I've ever seen. It's like
twenty pounds, It's got a great base. It's iSER man.
Get us over eighty today, guys. And they're both going
home to somebody on the wheel.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
At the end of.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
The show, shout out to the hobby house. My guy
shocks helping us out with a stand for our.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Desk, sigy. Note we got We got some some people
in chat already asking questions on why is Braylan wearing
the Dodgers jersey. This comes from none other than Dante
one to five one, who we love, we respect. He
is one of the cornerstone pieces of the chat. Understandably,
there are two reasons why. One show hal Tani's number
is number seventeen. Reason number two show hal Tani is
(06:54):
the greatest individual player as of now, the potential that
the MLB has ever seen. And everybody said I had
a Jordan jersey too, am I am? I allowed to
have a Jordan jersey at some point in time. I
respect greatness. And also this show held tiny jersey, which
I hold near.
Speaker 10 (07:11):
I knew he was gonna do it.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
It goes extremely well. But Kobe eight's the Dodger version
that came out right before the Kendrick Lamar consa. So
this was kind of my Kendrick Lamar outfit. If you will,
the hookup little Dodger Blue, little Kobe ates. I got
a castle is last time I checked?
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Good number? A good number?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
What's seventeen? Do you remember before two thousand and seven?
Don't worry.
Speaker 11 (07:34):
I'll wait.
Speaker 7 (07:36):
There's a guy by the Mistake by the Lake in
Sight and put up some big, big number.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
You know what.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
He's actually the most legendary athlete to come out of
Michigan this century. Some would argue that his name is
Brayland Edwards.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Hey, listen, before we have Brady on, this has some fun.
There's a lot of football to get to. We will
start that conversation with Brady. Quinn's going to be a
lot to dive into. NFL will get his tape. The
Detroit Lions will get him on that as well. We
got some great stuff for you got a topic. It's
the twelve stories that I want to feature in terms
of NC DOUAA football as well as the NFL. We'll
get to all that. Answer wants to get some stuff
(08:15):
in the second hour show, But.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
I got a question for you.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Go ahead.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
I can't let you get away from this because you
look so good in that jersey. Saw you walking down
Woodward stopping traffic with the shoes matching man.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
Question, My question, yeah, it was, it was. My question
is what was your first jersey?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Oh that's a really good question. Well, my dad's my
dad's jersey Houston Oilers thirty four.
Speaker 7 (08:41):
But uh, excuse me, you guys, get yours ready, because
I'm asking you next.
Speaker 11 (08:47):
Is my first jersey?
Speaker 6 (08:51):
Warm?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
That's what baby Blue Your Blue got me on Mowens
jersey and I rocked it. Warren's my favorite quarterback. He
and Steve Young.
Speaker 11 (09:06):
Oh look, you guys already know man.
Speaker 9 (09:09):
The first jersey I've ever had Grant Hills jersey. Man
the shoes too. I had the Felix Man shout out
to my grandma. We were out on the school trip
in Atlanta. It was popping everywhere. He was on every
commercial even down there. I was like Grandma, I gotta
have those shoes.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I will tell Dante one five won this though the
only blue that I claim is Honolulu Blues, just to
throw that out there so you know, appreciate you in
the comments. And Grant Hill those the first pair of
those are the first basketball shoe of someone that my
parents purchased and the only one battle with.
Speaker 9 (09:42):
The only other one shocks in Stephan Marbrays. My dad
was all about that, like, yo, there are some brothers
are gonna support them. They're affordable and if you're a hooper,
the shoes don't make you. So I was like, you
know what, let's rock man.
Speaker 8 (09:56):
Definitely mine has a story attached to. Whenever I say,
people look at me like I'm crazy. But it was
the Maroon Mateen Cleves Jersey.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Six saved, the story saved.
Speaker 8 (10:13):
Won the championship state in fifth grade and I was
the only one that picked miskan State at my school
and I wanted to like Raffle for the whole school.
So the next year I wanted his rookie jersey and
I had no idea what the future hell for him.
Speaker 9 (10:24):
So on my first jersey, like a proud spur, you
were wearing that so so wait wait, wait, wait, so
you won March Madness, which ends in April.
Speaker 10 (10:33):
Yeah, so think about it.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
And then you didn't get the jersey into August. The
Christmas oh till Christmas. I forgot I won.
Speaker 10 (10:42):
I was a teen Cleves fan at that point, but it.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Was it was a great It was a great kind
of like, oh, by the way, I did forget. I wanted.
It was like a good gift. At the time.
Speaker 10 (10:50):
I loved it. But then, yeah, Mateen Cleves.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
You know number two turquoise with pinstripes, grabbed Mama, Larry John.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
That's a signus man, that's a sick one. That's the
sig one with the music, with the fact let's stick
to these kind of things. Cool A put up that
list real quick, you know what I'm saying before we
get Brady on here and have a good conversation. I
was thinking about music, albums that were important to me
in my life. I was thinking about music. I was
thinking about soundtracks. I think places in my life, moments,
you know what I'm saying, little eras in my life
(11:20):
that came out with five albums, rap albums, if you will,
they kind of they take me to that place. I
got It's dark, Hell, It's hot. DMX, It's the first
album nineteen ninety nine. That album came out and changed
the game. And at this time DMX was just raw, rugged, uncut, unfiltered.
It was it was all the things. It was authentic,
(11:41):
and he was a number one artist in the world
at the time rap artist. It was not jay Z.
The Black album came on my senior year at Michigan.
That was pretty much the soundtrack to my senior season
at Michigan, and that Michigan State game happened, the infamous
one three touchdowns. All I played was what more can
I say? The rest of the season and the encore
the graduation. That was Pro Bowl year for me, two
(12:04):
thousand and seven. I think that album changed the game
for Conye. All his album and around that area that
were coming out. We're consistently pushing the gold post for
further further back the Chronic. I think when I think
of being like anywhere from anywhere in the nineties, I
think about the Chronic album, hanging out with my aunties,
my uncle's riding in cars like the Chronic, Like that
changed the game. Doctor Dre Snoop. That was a relationship
(12:26):
that is still strong today. So and then T one
on one that was here, I got drafted. I had
to have some GZ in there, Like I still can
hear the intro in my in my head.
Speaker 11 (12:36):
Bro like.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Like like when Jiz came out, it was it was
it was a sound check for the streets. It was dope.
So it was really So those are five albums that
define different points of my life. And I like him.
You got anything along those.
Speaker 7 (12:55):
Lines, Yeah, I sure one with you the Chronic when.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
That came out nineties, Man, come on, it just changed
the game.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
It did, Oh we're here.
Speaker 6 (13:04):
You had to decide are you East Coast and West Coast?
Speaker 7 (13:07):
I was West Coast for sure.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I've always been East Coast in terms of what to
listen to, like I've always been at but in terms
of rocking with it, I rock more the West Coast.
It felt like family East Coast.
Speaker 8 (13:21):
Being in the Midwest, we were lucky to not have
to actually choose. We can grab everything because we think
about a lot of the South influences UF there, like
we got the team one on one.
Speaker 10 (13:28):
Like we can listen to whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
It's a good point.
Speaker 10 (13:30):
Yeah, being in Midwest with from music was the best man.
Speaker 6 (13:32):
It's a capitalistic yes, so fresh and WP.
Speaker 7 (13:36):
My very first album, or not my first album, but
my first concert was Boston Soul.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Boston's self titled nineteen seventy.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
Six album Boston is the only album I know the
lyrics to front to back. That's why I gravitate towards techno,
because I cannot discern or remember lyrics whatsoever. Terrapin Station
by Grateful Dad, shout out to Pistol Pete, our former producer,
Masters of Reality by Black Sabbath Man Rest in Peace
(14:07):
Ozzy Osbourne.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
That album is an excellent start to finish.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
And then we've talked about this one before and I
would be remiss to leave it off any list.
Speaker 6 (14:19):
The Fuji's the score.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
A sneaky one to fifteen top match up.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
That's a sneaky list right there.
Speaker 6 (14:27):
It's a story.
Speaker 7 (14:28):
Yeah, the whole thing works as one. It's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I like that what you got from you got something
in the audio booth music man, what's up text this?
Speaker 8 (14:38):
I said, I love it because I know you were
specific about like you said, that describes you, not necessarily
your favorite albums, but album does grab you.
Speaker 10 (14:44):
So I go with any r D's first album, self
titled album. It's kind of a rock hip.
Speaker 8 (14:48):
Hop line album for oh my God, I love the album.
Speaker 10 (14:54):
Then we got fifty Get rid of that try and like,
that's my favorite hip hop about all the time.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I went to the first concert here you want her
funny story when he came in concert. It was two
thousand and two when it came out. It was at
the Fox. That was the first one Eminem opened up
for him.
Speaker 10 (15:09):
That sounds nothing.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Eminem opened up for me at the Fox. I didn't
see any of Eminem's performance because it was the first
time I ever had an alcohol.
Speaker 10 (15:18):
Okay, so you was the use party.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
But when you but when you're twenty years old, you recovered.
I did see fifty, I did see fifty.
Speaker 10 (15:24):
All the fifty man best rap album of all time?
Speaker 8 (15:28):
Graduation was on my list, but I can I can
move that out of the way for Speaker Boxing Love Below.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Last out, the last black album to win Album of
the Year at the Grammys was Love Below.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
I listened regular like I listened to Roses on the regular.
That's one of my favorite songs ever.
Speaker 11 (15:47):
Years.
Speaker 10 (15:48):
We got Kendrick Lamar, good Kid.
Speaker 8 (15:50):
Mad City Respect Love that album, listening to that front
the back, no, no, that work. And then lately it's
been life for Pablo Kanye Wo Life of Pablo. Them
albums that yeah, like, I like really said, listen to
it and understand the time frame he was in.
Speaker 10 (16:04):
After finally, I agree, breaking through a yeasy love of album.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I agree, let's see you out here. Solid list from
both of you individuals. And last it just leaves the
main man into the right kool aid. What you got
for us?
Speaker 9 (16:15):
Hey, look, man, it's no secret it had an adventurous
upbringing and that's where it brings me to the group.
Take six, man, My uncle Cedric Denni is a part
of that group, and that's where the smoothness comes in. Man,
the the jazz and all of that type of stuff. Man,
shout out to them talking about Grammy winners, their first
two albums, Gold and many more and everything they did
(16:37):
from the gospel scene all the way down to the
jazz scene, tearing up from Troy to every jazz festival
across the world, you know, including being number one artists
even in places like Japan.
Speaker 11 (16:47):
You know, they played a big role in my life.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Man.
Speaker 11 (16:49):
My pops was proud of them.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
He helped to do some things behind the scenes and
he held groups here as well, So Take six is
one of those groups.
Speaker 11 (16:55):
The album so much to say with.
Speaker 10 (16:56):
Some texts in Maserado. I got some tas in Masado.
Speaker 9 (16:59):
Yeah, if you remember her, she did that song, uh
and she actually sampled them and I think some man
for real Williams though I told you Ricky in my mind,
right in my mind for real Williams. I don't know why,
but that album, his solo one, that one was for me.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
First of all, that girl with him and Snoop Man, Yes,
that girl with him.
Speaker 10 (17:21):
Worry I forgot. I got to see for real in
his one time and I got him.
Speaker 8 (17:25):
All I did was thank him for his album, thank
you for he likes stepped back for a second like
thank thank you.
Speaker 10 (17:32):
I want I just want to thank you for that
brother made amazing.
Speaker 11 (17:35):
Ricky got off more words with Froll than I did.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
I was just like hi.
Speaker 11 (17:42):
Man, because I was a producer.
Speaker 9 (17:43):
I'm a producer man that and he did a lot
for me as it relates to that style, that sound
and everything eminem on Core, specifically on Core for me
because that was the first album that was my freshman
year in college. That was when I could make music.
Mind sound to my parents and everything they did to
try and raise me. Him love up in here, but
I had I had to have Emminem on there another
(18:03):
one for me that's big KB. His glory alone KB.
If you don't know him, get hit with him. He
is signed to a major label. He does do positive
to Christian type rat and I don't like everything that
he brings to the table. And I'm telling you bar
for bar, beat for beat, You're not gonna find too
many people that can mess with him.
Speaker 11 (18:21):
And then I had fifty cent get Rich and I.
Speaker 9 (18:23):
Trium, but since you stated it, I bumped it off
for this album here Joe Sample and Laila Hathaway's the
song Lives on Rest in Peace to the legend Joe Sample.
If you guys aren't familiar with jazz music, I came
up on a lot of jazz music and Leila Hathaway
his hands down the single best living vocalist on the
planet right now.
Speaker 11 (18:42):
So shout out to her.
Speaker 9 (18:43):
And my honorable mention because this is whenever my cousins
would pick me up and my mom would be like, Okay,
he's going out of here with the button up and everything,
and I was switching to jeans and the white tea.
Speaker 11 (18:53):
It was b Jisel all right, g.
Speaker 9 (18:56):
G yes he did sounded like hands.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
But shout out to kool Aid. How did we leave
top of Citing? How did we.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
Leave Headhunters off this list?
Speaker 6 (19:10):
By Herbie Hancock.
Speaker 7 (19:12):
I don't know, man, but maybe the most influential album
in jazz history.
Speaker 11 (19:17):
And listen.
Speaker 9 (19:18):
I have over probably eight hundred records. Shoutout Freddie Felt.
He knows this too. My grandfather left me a crazy collection, man,
He's also part of that collection.
Speaker 6 (19:27):
Very good, very good, rest in peace to your.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
To your grandfather.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Thank you. You guys have some very very very world
travel eclectic eclectic taste in music. I'm always excited when people,
you know, they're listen, they're changed and there's different music,
and there's different genres and different things. Mine is boring,
it's all wrap. But this is what I was trying
to do. I'm so using that. But we'll have to
do this again and just kind of do genres.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Where Where does Deep the Infamous rank?
Speaker 6 (19:56):
For you? Who to the album defamous? Top ten?
Speaker 2 (20:02):
It's definitely it's top twelve for sure, Top twelve.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
For sure my time.
Speaker 6 (20:07):
That rewind back to promise.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Well, look what we're gonna do is we're gonna we're
gonna move forward ahead. We'll get Brady Quinn in here soon.
We'll have that conversation with him. A lot to go
over the NCFA landscape as well as the Detroit Lions.
The first we'll get a commercial break in and then
we'll get back talk a little bit about Isaac Tesla.
I know we've been beating his name into you guys,
but he's here now. He's here to stay. He is
your third wide receiver the Detroit Lions. We won't talk
about what that looks like. But first let's get a
(20:32):
message in from Ben Johnson. Justice it means different things
to different people, but whether it's a settlement or a verdict,

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Man.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Look, let's start here until we get ready. Quinn and
figured this out. I saw something interesting. I'm gonna name
some players, and you tell me if this players are better.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Than some Detroit Lions. Let's do it, all right.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
I'mar ross Saint Brown. We'll start him as the baseline.
Is George Kittle better than Ama Ross Saint Brown, George Kittle,
George Kittle.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Oh, man, that's a tough one to start off with.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
George Kittle better than I'm Brown? Yes, all right, Tristan
Wurst tackle, Yes, okay. Is Amar Saint Brown better than
A J. Brown?
Speaker 7 (31:27):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Is he better than Zach Bonn?
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Yes, Bond's only done it one year.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Is he better than Brock Bauers.
Speaker 7 (31:37):
I'll say yes again because Bowers needs to do another year.
But that guy's on his way to being the best
title ever.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Is he better than Lane Johnson?
Speaker 7 (31:48):
We talk a track record, we talk to twenty twenty
five because I gotta go with Lane Johnson.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
I'd be disrespecting him.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
But it's close, man, Okay, that's fair, super close. Is
he better than Max Crosby.
Speaker 7 (32:00):
No, okay, the ultimate disruptor?
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Okay? Is he better than Jade and Daniels your guy?
Speaker 7 (32:08):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (32:09):
At this point?
Speaker 7 (32:10):
Yes, Jaydan Daniels got lucky in some games and had
it all come together in the first round win, but
again needs to do it for more than a year.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
I'm glad you said that. Because the NFL's top one
hundred players as voted for by the players. They feel
the exact same way as you. I'ma Ross Saint Brown
comes in at number twenty this year on the list.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
He didn't get any wrong.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
You did not get any wrong. The guys you name
that was actually in order, it goes backwards. Jayden Daniels
is twenty one, Max Crosby is two, Lane Johnson's twenty four,
and so on and so on and so on. I'm
on Ross Saint Brown. And the cool thing about this
is we talk about it so much, the strides he's taken. Now,
it took me a while to realize how good Amarad
Saint Brown was, how good he is. But I don't
(32:53):
think it's taking the league that long. This is by
your peers, and if the league is voting for if
the players are saying this is what you are, ladies
and gentlemen, it is not true. It's damn true.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
We'll say you, well, all the names you gave me.
Speaker 7 (33:06):
I'm like, well, if this is the category he's in,
I think it's correct. I think it means he's a
top thirty player. But you know what, the word that
keeps coming back to me is disrespect. And there's a
lot of disrespect for the Lions in total. Right now,
ten and a half is your win total that you're
over under for this team that won fifteen games despite
(33:27):
losing their entire defense.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
Basically, uh, you look at the coach.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
You look at guys like I'm on rad guy that's
disrespected in the draft and continues to put up top four,
top five numbers every year, but he's ranked seven or
eighth as a receiver. This team, this city, our fan base,
we're all disrespected.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
That's kind of what I love about this.
Speaker 7 (33:49):
When people are focused on the Bears, we'll play the
underdog role, We'll play disrespected, and we will smack you
in the damn mouth for it.
Speaker 11 (33:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
You know, we talking about Amar rasa on wide receiver
with the Detroit Lions, Jamo the other wide receiver that
he started with, and now Isaac Tesla. We talked enough.
We talked a lot about him on the Braylyns breakdown.
I showed you the things that I liked about him.
I showed you the route running, I showed you his speed,
I showed his physicality. But at the end of the day,
he just turned hits and I think that's why he
(34:19):
got the job. You can't make the team from the tub,
and that's where Tim Patrick was. You saw Isaac Tesla
every practice, make a play, every game, make a play.
He had three touchdowns in three preseason games. I told
you in my nine years of NFL, I got two
prec season touchdowns. He has three already. Just talk about
how excited you are for this new dimension because he
is the type of wide receiver that we've been clamoring for,
(34:42):
the big guy that can run and jump, but also
he can do the little things too well.
Speaker 7 (34:46):
And we kind of got a poor man's version of
that in Tim Patrick.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
And shout out Tim Patrick.
Speaker 7 (34:51):
And he did some great, great things for this Detroit
Lions team.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
He was dependable, Yeah that's the word.
Speaker 7 (34:57):
But I don't believe that Tim Patrick was ever better
physically and talent wise than what Tesla is right now,
even before he suffered those injuries that he suffered. What
you see on Tesla, he just absolutely pops off the
screen and he exactly fills.
Speaker 6 (35:14):
That role that we were seeking when.
Speaker 7 (35:17):
We got Josh Reynolds, when we got Tim Patrick. Now
you get a guy that physically is just so much
more dominant than either of those two guys could have
been on their best day and oh lo and behold,
this guy went to Hillsdale. He's got his own Lions Jersey.
There's no question about culture fit. There was just a
question of whether this kid could do it on the field.
(35:38):
Like you said, Bray, he's done it in practice and
he's done it in preseason, but he's done it on
a high level. I mean, I heard Mas talking about
them maybe cutting Tim Patrick.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
Well, they traded him, they get a six rounder for him.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
This team gets better in capitol and on the field
because Isaac Tesla is now the Lions number three, and
what a number three we got.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
And then you're talking about sixth round picking the hands
of Brad Holmes.
Speaker 7 (36:02):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
That is what you get excited at one hundred percent.
And we'll see what he does coming up in a
week or so at that left guard position. But you
know what else it talks to which I'm excited about
for Isaac Tesla to get the job, for them to
move on from Tim Patrick. That also says somebody else
trusts Isaac Tesla. One thing, one person we didn't hear
a lot from was Jared Goff Number sixteen. These kinds
(36:25):
of conversations they fall into Jared Goff's lab. Hey Jared,
how do you feel about him? What are you seeing?
Are you seeing enough to move on from Tim Patrick?
Are you seeing enough that you can develop a relationship
with And the fact that he's here and Tim isn't
that lets me know all I need to know about
where Jared Goff is with his new third wide receiver.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
Yeah, we were talking during the Lions postgame shows, KG
and I who would get to two and a half
sacks or touchdowns first, Tesla or Hassinine. Obviously I don't
think Hassinine is in a position to be able to
rack up those sacks right now.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
But now two and a half touchdowns for Isaac Tesla
seems very low, Tim Patrick, He's worth three a year,
and he's not nearly as physically talented, especially in jump
ball scenarios and red zone scenarios as what we've seen
out of Isaac Tesla. So now I'm just kind of curious.
It's four and a half the number for touchdowns for
(37:19):
this kid.
Speaker 7 (37:20):
What kind of projections can you have on an Isaac Tesla?
He really fills a role for this offense that you know. Again,
they went out and founded Tim Patrick to be able
to do just a big guy that can go down
and field and block and in those scenarios when you're
looking for a jump ball, whether it's in the red
zone or on a third down, you get him.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
Out there and do that.
Speaker 7 (37:41):
But Isaac is so much more dynamic in that same role.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
You wouldn't have thought it.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
But we got better on offense with Isaac Tesla as
our number three.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
Now, Yeah, definitely excited too. I'm also excited that Johnny
mo has another weapon. And we're still trying to figure
out what Johnny Moe's offense is going to be. How
is it gonna differ from Ben Johnson. The fact that
you bring in Johnny Moe, who's familiar with Jared Goff,
He's familiar with this squad. He's making these calls too.
If this is just as much him as it is
Dan Campbell as it is Jared Goff saying no, I
(38:14):
like this weapon, I need this weapon. So excited to
see why is he tests I can do? And then
he's a he's a blocking wide receiver. Yeah, he's a
blocking wide receiver.
Speaker 7 (38:23):
So he just adds a dimension we've never seen with
this BNL Team.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
One under saying, look, I just got good news. We
got Brady Quinn. So we're gonna take quick commercial break.
We'll come back, we'll have him on the phone and
we can finally dive into this conversation. Thank you to

All right. I appreciate you guys. We appreciate you guys
being patient as well as Brady Quinn. I appreciate you.
His time is valuable already get the introduction over eleven
thousand yards pass and I know their dame first round
draft pick two thousand and seven. He is a friend.
He is a brother, and he's been working on big
newon Kickoff now since two thousand and nineteen. He is
my man, Brady Quinn. He is with us via phone. Brady,
(41:24):
what's up? Brother?
Speaker 13 (41:27):
Not much? Take it second time to charm. Sorry couldn't
do this digitally, but at least be able to do
about it.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
One of under staying. We did get the visual dog
got a chance to see you looking good as always.
I feel like, you know, we talk so much about football.
We talk so much about the big ten kicker. I
see you over there spending thank you so much, but
we don't talk about the family. He is also a
proud father of four he and Alicia. How the kids doing,
as we have the picture in the background. I thought
that up for us, so let the people see Brady's
(41:52):
beautiful family.
Speaker 13 (41:55):
The kids are doing. We actually have five now.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
Always I'm always off about one. I'm always off that one.
Speaker 13 (42:02):
Well, we've we've been sneaking up on people. We just
so uh yeah, yeah, I think we're done now though,
I think I think we're done with five. We got
our second team.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
Well, well that's good man. Everybody looks good and good health.
I hope, I pray. Always good to hear from you. Look,
I know you had time constraints because of the delay.
So let's jump right into it, big noon kickoff. You
gotta start off with a banger. It's Ohio State and
Texas Texas with ars Manning started the first year. What
does this game look like for you? What are you
expecting to see from Texas and how they end this game?
Speaker 13 (42:35):
Well, obviously the storyline is going to be all about
you know, the fact this is the first time in
college football history we've seen two teams rank this high
scaring off in the first game the season. And also
you know teams that are scaring off that you know,
really faced each other last year in the semi final
where one team was able to knock the other one
out and go on to win a national championship. So
a lot of unique scenarios big picture about this game.
(42:56):
And everyone's gonna want to talk about the quarterbacks. You know,
it's ars Manning and you've got a part of the
lineage of the managed Manning family. There's gonna be a
lot of hype, but it's justified. You know, Arches the
type of player Brelan when you go and you see
him throw in person, you talk to him, he just
he has.
Speaker 7 (43:12):
All of it.
Speaker 13 (43:13):
You know, he's got the size, he's got the arm,
he's got the athleticism too. I mean they were bringing
him in last year with a package where you know
he'd run some zone read, he'd have to have some
quarterback design runs as a change up, you know for
what they're doing with Quinn yours. So he's got that
element to his game which is probably different than Payd
and Eli. And then on the flip side, he got
do Insane, you know, a very highly touted recruit. Initially
(43:34):
it committed to Alabama, didn't really stay there long was
actually you know, left once Nick Saban decided to retire
and ended up at Ohio State. And now he gets
his turn after winning a quarterback battle this spring and
training camp. And he's the type of player that he's
got a really tight compact motion. He's an accurate passer,
he can spit the football around the field. He's not
(43:55):
a dual threat guy, but he can utilize his legs.
He really won the quarterback back through his decision making.
That's one thing that you keep hearing Ryan Day say
over and over is that was the most consistent thing
about the quarterback competition was he kept putting his team
in a good position and with a roster that has
a guy like Jeremiah Smith and Carnel Tait who'd be
a number one wide receiver on most teams, and not
(44:16):
to mention Brandon Enis all South Florida products where they
played their high school days. But the three best wide
receivers in college football. That's all you really got to do.
And probably the secret weapon or the X factor for
this year's team. It's gonna be Max Clayer, the tight
end that transferred in from Purdue, who was one of
the bright spots for pretty last year that didn't have
many but he is a legit passing threat and I
(44:37):
think he's gonna play a big factor in this game
if Texas tries to play the type of defense they
did in the semi final game and take away Jeremiah Smith.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Yeah, you know, archs doesn't hit. He's not Eli's son,
He's not Peyton's son. Cooper was a pretty athletic play
wide receiver, So I think that's where he gets that
speed from talking about Ryan Day talking about the house
site Ohio State side of things, What does it look
like for Ryan Day this year he wins the National
champions better not being able to beat Michigan over the years,
But now it doesn't matter because you got the twelve
playoff game, they came to play in the playoffs and
(45:06):
they won the National Championship. Where's Ryan Danelhio State currently
right now?
Speaker 13 (45:12):
Yeah, I think they're in a good spot. And I
think one of the things that this is going to
sound odd to hear if I had a chance to
speak in this offseason and college football is becoming now
about the postseason, about the college football playoff. You know,
if you think about the history of the college you know,
college football has always been about the regular season and
then we either have a format where we just announced
(45:33):
after bowl games who we thought the winner was.
Speaker 11 (45:35):
We had the.
Speaker 13 (45:35):
BCS where we got two teams playoffs for then we
went to a four team playoff. Now we're getting to
the point where we've got a legit tournament and that's
gonna only keep expanding from here. And talking with Ryan Day,
one of the comments he made to me, it was like,
you know, we have to, you know, figure out how
to prepare a team to play at the best football
at the end of the season, you know, not necessarily
at the beginning or at the middle point. And so
(45:57):
there's going to be some losses along the way. It's
more about if you can get into the tournament and
then if you can get hot. And that's exactly what
Ohio State did. I mean, we were there for the
Ohio State mission game. That was the shocking of performances,
that scene and if you're gonna tell me that Ohio
State would turn around and drum Tennessee like they did
at home. After that performance versus Michigan, I would have said,
you're crazy. I mean literally, I couldn't have felt anymore
(46:20):
after you know, the past previous three years, being the
biggest favorite ever in the history of that game at
home and then laying agg the way they did. I
did not think they'd be able to turn around, but
they did. They played up to their capability. So it's
really a credit. It's a credit to you know, maybe
the philosophy of Ryan Day and that staff and now
they're able to get their team to rebound the leaders
on that team. But attains me to say this. I
(46:43):
feel like as we expand the postseason, it just it
takes away from some of the rivals because that Ohigos
State mission game always meant something conference, it meant something
in that championship, you know, a game like last year,
it meant something for the rivalry, but ultimately it didn't
end up didn't packing Ohio State's ability to win a
national championship.
Speaker 7 (47:00):
Brady, I gotta sneak in one here. What the hell
is wrong with Ohio State University?
Speaker 6 (47:05):
No flag planting, no.
Speaker 7 (47:07):
Port NOI I hear there's an open seat at your
desk for the show? Will you or will you not
be sneaking Dave portnoy into OSU?
Speaker 6 (47:19):
I need to know.
Speaker 13 (47:22):
Guys. You can hear me? I cannot hear sheep?
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Yeah, can you hear me?
Speaker 13 (47:28):
I can hear you be?
Speaker 6 (47:29):
This is Can you hear me? This is Anson? Actually bray,
I can hear it now, Okay.
Speaker 7 (47:32):
No, I was saying, what the hell is wrong with
Ohio State University? No flag planting, no port NOI I
hear that you've got an open seat in your program
this weekend? Will you or will you not be sneaking
port noy in? And and again what the hell is
wrong with Ohio State?
Speaker 5 (47:49):
Man?
Speaker 13 (47:51):
Well, look that that question is for someone I loaded
Ohio State to probably answer in regards to what's taking place.
I mean, all I know is, you know, we're excited
about the partnership that we have with Barstool with Dave.
Dave obviously is a very polarizing figure, and you know,
he's an unapologetic Michigan fan, and given his you know, lineage,
and given his Lma Mater and his phantom, he should
(48:13):
be you know, I think the thing that everyone kind
of misses out about you know the you know, Dave
Portnoy joining because a lot of people, when you know
the announcement was made, were like, oh, this is Fox's
moved to combat Pat Max at ESPN. While there are
some similarities to that, I think their start contrasts. You know,
Pat played, Pat played at a high level. He knows
the game. It's a completely different conversation. And he's more
(48:37):
of an entertainer. You know, Dave Portanoy's build up, you
know at Barstool Sports to be this behemoth of a
following and as you know, kind of a cult following,
and even though he is entertaining, he's not going around
the WWE and all these other things to perform for people.
You know, he's a business fan and I think what
he represents more than anything else is a fanatic. You know,
(48:58):
he is a huge, true, diehard Michigan fan, and we're
giving him the opportunity, not like Barstool, but him as
well to be a part of a show where we've
never really never had that. I think we turn on
the TV, we always expect to see people who have played,
have coached, they have some sort of maybe betting insight
to it or fantasy insight to it. This is a
new age of where we're bringing on someone who maybe
(49:20):
he's gonna talk about bettings to talking about some other things,
but his expertise is his fandom. Like he's gonna be
speaking for the common man out there or for the
fan out there who's a big fan of a team
or maybe they hate that team, or maybe they got opinions,
but he's gonna be able to speak his mind about that.
And that's a platform that you know, outside of you know,
different radio shows or shows or someone can call in,
you don't really see that on TV very often. So
(49:42):
it's a unique approach to it and a new approach.
You know, is everyone gonna like it? Of course not,
you know that that's just kind of part of how
it is. But everyone's gonna watch because whether you love
it or hate it, we're gonna watch.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
You know, you're absolutely right in twenty twenty five, it's
all about inclusion. And I don't mind inclusion as long
as the people that are being included are worthy of
being including. To your point, he does the homework, he
does the research, He speaks for the common man, and
when you listen to him, if you get past the
antics that you see go viral on social you actually
just tap in watch a podcast. He is very knowledge
when he does have some fun with it. So I'm excited,
(50:13):
but I know we got started a little bit late.
So We're going to do quick hits in college because
I do want to get to the Lions. I want
to get to what they look like this year, and
a couple questions around the league, So he's a quick hits.
Brian Kelly twenty nine to eleven is three years so
far at LSU. Every coach that has played coach at
LSU last the last five coaches LEADST four have won
national championship. Does Brian Kelly figured out this year?
Speaker 13 (50:36):
I don't think son. I think they've got their hands full.
Week one, they're playing Clemson. That's the team that real
high expectations for. Yeah, they are real and Kate club
nexs to me a guy we talked about next year
being the first round of the draft, so I don't
think it's going to get off to a good start.
I think they'll be talented. I love Garrett Nelsonyer, he'll
be a first round pick too, But too many questions
for me on the defensive side of the football, and
I think, you know, to be quite honest, like Georgia Texas,
(50:59):
those are still the teams beat in my mind in
the SEC Marcus Freeman.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
Last year he goes fourteen and two and finishes number
two in the pre excuse me, at the end of
the season he was number two in the country at
least Notre Dame was I like to turnaround that he's had.
Is Notre Dame beat to restore power like they used
to be under Brian Kelly, like they were when you
were there, like they were in the eighties. Essentially, are
they coming back to that type of promence now? In
the coach Marcus Forhman.
Speaker 13 (51:25):
I think it's even past that. I think it's more
closer to the talent that you saw back in the
eighties of lou Olts, you know where this is a
complete roster that they've got depth as well. It's one
of the reasons why they're able to make it to
the National Championship Game last year. There's a ton of
injuries on defense. People tend to forget that. I mean
Ben Morrison who end up being a second round pick
due to a hip injury. His absence allowed for learn
More to step up as a freshman and to become
(51:46):
a freshman All American and now he's viewed as arguably
the best quarterback in college football. So there's tons of
guys that have returned that have a ton of talent
and ability, and I think they're going to showcase themselves
on a big space Sunday night versus Miami. But this
is a deep of a roster and as talented of
a team as not the name has ever had. And
I think there's no doubt they'll be in the playoff
and they'll be a contention for a national championship.
Speaker 5 (52:07):
Again.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Brady and I are closer than ever.
Speaker 14 (52:08):
Now.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
You know why because my coach's grandson is the starting
quarterback and Notre Dame. So shout out to CJ.
Speaker 17 (52:13):
Carr.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
Hope he does well against Miami. They bought that rivalry back,
at least for a temporary Let's get the Michigan real
quick and then we can get to the league. Charon
Moore and Bryce Underwood. That's all you hear out of Van.
I'm excited about this season. So here's my quick question. Michigan.
I look at their schedule, it's very favorable. If Chip
Lindsay and the offensive line work. Michigan is a ten
(52:34):
and two team, maybe eleven to one. What say you.
Speaker 13 (52:38):
I see that? I mean, I think they're one of
the if you look at the top two teams or
three teams, right, So I stay at Penn State and
they're you know, the talent, et cetera. But after that,
I think the teams that no one's talking about enough,
it's Michigan. If Rice Underwoods everything they say is going
to be and he looks the part, that's for sure.
Washington is another team, you know. I think you look
at Indiana and they've got a little tougher schedule this year,
(52:59):
but they bring in Fernando Mendoza. It came from Cown.
I don't a lot of people know about him. He
fits their system. You know. Those are just three teams
that Illinois everyone tie on. I think they could take
a step back, much more difficult schedule this year and
a lot of they won a lot of one score games.
Those don't always flip in your favorite the way they
did last year. So I like Washington, Michigan, and Indiana
(53:19):
once again to be those three teams that are gonna surprise.
I think a lot of people in the Big ten
this year that people aren't talking about.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
Yeah, you heard it from Brady Quinn is up. I
actually agree with everything he said, not because he's right,
but because he's BQ. Of course. Let's get into the NFL.
We got Detroit Lions this year. A lot has been made.
Ben Johnson leaving, Aaron Glenn leaving, taking some of the
coaches they did most know the offensive, the offensive play
calling is now in with the New York Jets. He's
offensive coordinator. What does this look like? So many people
(53:48):
making it that, oh, well Ben left, so now Jared
Goffer's cook, Well, Aaron Glenn lefts and at the defense
doesn't have the identity that they had last year?
Speaker 13 (53:54):
Have that?
Speaker 2 (53:55):
What say you about this team that has a lot
of stars, has a couple potential Jackson, Their damn good team.
Speaker 13 (54:04):
They are a damn good team and it's a talented roster.
They's done a tremendous jo Bradhols, who had done a
great job building it up. To me, the best teams
are always player led, you know, and the coaches will
come and go, especially talented ones like Aaron Glaedd and
like Ben Johnson, because they deserve their shot to the
head coach and try to replicate what they've learned from
Dan Campbell, but what they want to do on their own,
and so it provides the opportunity for someone else. But
(54:26):
ultimately it's still Jared Goffs, the quarterback, who's gonna be
able to take a lot of those things they did
with then and implement them now. And he's played long
enough where really he should be controlling everything out there
on the field anyway. So you know, to me, I
don't think they'll be as big of a drop off,
you know, I think there will be a heavier, you know,
heavier load placed on Jared gott Schors and game planning
(54:46):
and preparation and breaking down and coming up with some
unique plays. But I mean, hell, you know this, it's
a it's a copycat league. It doesn't take much to
turn on, you know, on a Monday morning and go
back and watch what the Bears are doing and try
to implement that sort some of the against some of
the different division opponents and put it in your installed.
We've got plenty of coordinators through the years that just
did exact thing. Yeah, tried to tried to act like
(55:09):
it's their own.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
It's kind of like it's like that Ben Johnson play
when he did the hooking ladder to the tight end
and then the forty nine ers that same day.
Speaker 13 (55:18):
Yeah, I'm just gonna say, man like, like you've seen
this all the time as the copy head league. So uh,
I'm still high for the Lines this year. I would
not be shocked if they found their way through the
NFC to get to a Super Bowl. It's basically, you
know a handful of teams that I think ultimately are
really competing in the NFC. The AC is much more money,
I think right off the back of I mean, Philly
is number one. The roster is ridiculously stacked and deep.
(55:42):
I think I think I still give the benefit of
San Francisco. I'm not as high on them. It feels
like that roster is aging and they're kind of searching
for you know, if they hit their ceiling it out
with brock Purty even though they just paid them. The
Lions are right up there too. I think Green Bay
is gonna be a really good team that people probably
aren't talking about it now. I'm really curious to do
what happens in Minnesota. Was Jay mccarr. You know, they
can kind of be taking a step back. You know.
(56:02):
Outside of that, probably the Bucks are another surprise team
in the NFC South. But I like what they've done
with their offseason moves, with their roster. I like the
fires that you know Baker Mayfield brings. I think he
fits you know, that kind of ying and yang with
Todd Bowles, who's a very calm demeanor guy. I then
you have this fiery quarterback. It just seems to work.
And then the Rams like it's all going to depend
(56:22):
upon Matt Stafford being healthy. I mean I dealt with
back issues. He might be able to get through week one,
but it's weeks two thre eighteen that you see if
you can be able to stay healthy and if they're
gonna be able to stay afloat. But if you can
and he could play a ways capable of they're another
team that's going to be.
Speaker 14 (56:35):
In the mix.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
Uh, Brady, two more quick ones from me and then
I'm dan think answer has one more and we'll let
you get iron Man. I really appreciate you for sticking
with us through this. One of the big things that
we've talked about is Jared Goff having to replace excuse me,
no longer taking snaps from Frank Ragnow. You know, a
ciner is very valuable to quarterback, especially when you have
a sinner as good as Frank Ragnow and also the
right tackle for Kevin Zeiler. What does it look like
(56:57):
for a quarterback to start developing new rhythm, new chemistry
for this quarters center back exchange. What does that look like?
Because when you get used to a Frank rag Now,
when you get loose to a Jason Kelce to go
to another person, it seems like you take a step
back and have to figure that out. What does that
look like.
Speaker 13 (57:13):
The hardest thing for them to figure out and you
to be in sync honest the cadence, because there's times
as a quarterback when you are under center in particular
and you are kind of thinking or the defense is
doing something and you're kind of drawing out the cadence
read and hey red like you know, and they obviously
(57:34):
have to snap it and react and be able to
get off the football to get their block. But those guys,
the centers, especially when you work with a guy, they
have a feel like they know they know you know
when you want the ball, and you know if you're
drawing something out, why you're drawing it out. So all
those things to me are are you know, reasons why
It just takes time for you to get some of
(57:54):
those live reps. And until you get into, you know,
live game scenario, it's hard to iron out. But the cadences,
it is always about the quarterbacks. Nextly you do a
ton of physical reps of that. Yeah, it's just getting
those those actual reps of you two working and sync
on the cadence.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
This is another way to ask this question, Brady. I
know it's redundant, but I'm gonna try to change and
ask it a different way. When you think about Super
Bowl teams, teams you believe can win the Super Bowl,
there's a reason why you feel they could win. You
look at Kansasy Chiefs, well, they've already done. It doesn't matter.
You look at the Eagles, it's the defense, it's the
running game. You look at the Buffalo Bills, we believe
it's Josh Allen. You look at the Baltimore Ravens, it's
the defense and it's Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. What
(58:31):
is it about the Detroit Lions that make them a
for real super Bowl team? A team that you actually
believe can win the Super Bowl. I feel like every
year there's a couple of teams that you throw out there,
like oh yeah, this team and this team, but you
don't really truly believe it. You only believe it about
a couple. What is it about the Lions that makes
them a team that you believe can get there and
potentially win.
Speaker 13 (58:51):
I think they've got a combination of all the pieces.
You know, They've got a passing game with GoF Obvio,
the receivers. I've always been a huge fan of Omarros,
Saint Browns. It's just college days, even news sc guy
and I've a deep stable of backfield. But you know,
defensively too. I mean, you know, hopefully Hutchester coming back
hundred percent of the player we think he's going to be.
You know, all those pieces they have and you got
that star power and they've got it. I mean, they
(59:12):
build up this roster in the trenches, they build up
this roster with the skill players, and I think people
for some reason kind of right off that you know, Golf,
I don't know if they don't feel like he can
do it. I mean he's been to one before, and
he's been he's played big into moments too. So I
look at it and just say, this is a guy who,
you know, I truly believe you can win a super Bowl?
Will win win a Super Bowl? You know, will be
(59:33):
this year? I don't know. I mean when you talk
about this teams we mentioned that have a shot of
winning a super Bowl in the NFC, there's a little
of luck that comes in. You know, that's involved too,
and it takes you know, healths. You know, guy's not
getting hurt. You know you're not having to go to
a second third string guy, or go to the free
agent market to sign a guy off the street. All
those things playing a factor. Yeah, well too, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (59:55):
Two very quick ones.
Speaker 7 (59:56):
Brady as a former quarterback, you got Isaac Tesla and
now is the number three here in Detroit. We shipped
Tim Patrick out of town. When you look at this
young man, is it somebody that you would have loved
to have thrown to Isaac Tesla?
Speaker 13 (01:00:10):
Yeah, I mean he's got all the physical traits and ability,
that's for sure. And I was to say he's a
big dude, he's athletics, so he's going to be one
of those like sleeper fantasy picks. I'm not a fantasy guy,
but hell, if you're looking for someone who I think
is going to be productive, like, he's definitely one of
them that I don't know that we're talking about enough.
But I also think he's not going to get as
much attention, so he's going to have a great opportunity
(01:00:32):
to make an impact as a rookie and as long
as he gets the trust and confidence of Jared Goff.
I mean that's the biggest thing is when you've got
a veteran quarterback and you have the young players in there,
you you're throwing the football long before he's getting the
spot where he needs to get to, and you have
to trust that he knows where to go and that
he's going to be exactly where he's supposed to be.
(01:00:52):
And sometimes you know early on, especially if he makes
some mistakes that could kind of burn you as a
quarterback where you know you're not going to trust him
as much or you might have to wait a half
second longer to make sure he's where he's supposed to be. So, uh,
it's it's really gonna come down to you how fast
he can get up to speed with the offense. You
really came to trust that Jared Goff.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Brady. Look, man, you're a Jim. I appreciate you. Thanks,
thank you for sticking with us. Do some technical difficulties.
We weren't cleaning together. You know how that works.
Speaker 13 (01:01:19):
Yeah, no, I get trust me. I've been in this
deal long enough to know it's hard enough to get
anything to work nowadays.
Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
Telling me about it. Look, man, you and the family. Man,
I hope you guys have a good, good week leading
up leading up to the High State text. Thanks, thank you,
I talked. Oh man, we appreciate Brady. Quan man some
good insight there. Let's do this. Let's take a quick
commercial break, let's reset, come back, talk about some of
the things, and then we also have some more things
going on that would be fun. Today.
Speaker 7 (01:01:45):
I couldn't stand either one of you guys, either one
of you guys.
Speaker 6 (01:01:50):
Couldn't stand either one of them. Now I like them both.
Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
I like them both all that's right. They had the
infamous comeback game Brady. You guys owned a Brady and
yeah that was a Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:02:03):
I wasn't a fan of him when he was wearing.
Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
You know what gold, you know what I wanted to
ask him and I sometimes I don't want to do
things with people. But his very first start, I want
to say, was against us his freshman year or sophomore year.
Speaker 6 (01:02:17):
How'd that go?
Speaker 4 (01:02:18):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
Well thirty eight zip?

The show like button chat. You guys are killing it
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
We'll get it together digesting some of the conversation that
Brady Quinn. I think the last question is probably probably
the most important to the fans. It's important to the show.
It's the Lions chance of winning the Super Bowl. I
asked that question because a lot of times, and you
think about Super Bowl teams, they'll throw ten teams out
there to have the opportunity if things go right, if
this happens, and this player play as well. But it's
(01:08:34):
really like three in the back of people's mind, and
they're like, this team because of this, this team because
of him, this team because of this coach in this quarterback.
What about the Lions was my question to Brady quint
and I thought I thought he did a really really
good job of answering that question. We'll say you answer.
Speaker 7 (01:08:53):
A national sports figure likes the Lions to win the Super.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Bowl and sign though sign No, I don't know if
you say he liked them on the Super Bowl. He
said they definitely had a chance. He was one of
the first, the first to believe in Dan Campbell, to
believe in his Detroit Lions team. You heard him talk
about watching am Aron Saint Brown at USC right, So
he's been on the wagon fo a minute. He's come
on this on twenty twenty two. But I'm sorry, I
cut you.
Speaker 6 (01:09:18):
Up, man, Oh no, you're good man.
Speaker 7 (01:09:19):
It's just you know, we had Theo grem and Ger
one of the premier fantasy sports guys. In fact, we'll
have them back on tonight from seven point thirty to
nine for fantasy jerks, so make sure you're there for that.
Speaker 6 (01:09:31):
But I'm here, hey, but I'm hearing guys like him.
I'm hearing Brady Quinn.
Speaker 7 (01:09:36):
I'm hearing it all over the place that this is
a team that a lot of people firmly expect to
be in the super Bowl, and that to me is
just something I've never heard in my entire life.
Speaker 6 (01:09:49):
Obviously, last year there were people were picking them. I
think that again.
Speaker 7 (01:09:52):
I'm gonna come back to that word disrespect. There's so
much disrespect of this team going on, and I kind
of like it. There's there's the people like Brady that
know the game, and then there's a lot of these
others that just want to say, Oh, it's Philly again.
Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
It's Philly again. But people are.
Speaker 7 (01:10:06):
Starting to realize this team has ten different players that
are arguably top five at their position.
Speaker 6 (01:10:15):
You know, you guys think I'm crazy, Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:10:18):
Jack Campbell is probably the most arguable to be top five,
top seven at his position, but from Jack Fox to Golf,
the safeties are offensive players in between. This team has
every single piece you could ever need to make a
full run. They didn't have health last year. That's the
only thing that caught them up. And then on top
of it, you got Dan Campbell. I've already heard in
(01:10:42):
different interviews that he is taking it personally that people
think that this team isn't going to be as good
because they have new offensive and defensive coordinators. Last time
I checked, this team comes and goes with Dan Campbell,
and that means that they go places with a chip
on their shoulder and they leave with a w. So
(01:11:05):
I love hearing Brady Quinn saying that he likes this
team to be able to get to the Super Bowl,
that he likes this team being able to win it.
Speaker 6 (01:11:12):
It's it's a recurrent theme.
Speaker 7 (01:11:13):
Right now, this team has every single thing they need,
including health, to go to the.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
Super Bowl ahead.
Speaker 9 (01:11:21):
Now, I was gonna say, Anton, you talk about Brady
Quinn among others.
Speaker 11 (01:11:25):
If you look kind of.
Speaker 9 (01:11:25):
At the national landscape as they're preparing for this season,
you're starting to hear more and more people say, well.
Speaker 11 (01:11:31):
Oh yeah, yeah, you gotta put the Lions in that
super Bowl contention wind.
Speaker 9 (01:11:36):
It seems like we're out of four Clicks season, the
part of the offseason where they just get us all
rolled up as Detroit sports fans. But as we're getting
closer to the season, the ball know whers do people
have to stake effectively? Hey do you know ball for
the season Are the Lions a super Bowl team or not?
You're starting to hear these people change their tune now
that we're getting to closer and closer to the start.
Speaker 6 (01:11:57):
Of the season.
Speaker 7 (01:11:58):
And those guys didn't have to struggle through Kyle Allen
and Hendan Hooker for the last four weeks. Like everybody
here in Detroit is gonna be reminded very quickly of
what this team actually is.
Speaker 6 (01:12:11):
The experts they know.
Speaker 11 (01:12:13):
But but you were a preaching though, because that's my thing.
Speaker 9 (01:12:16):
I like the fact that Dan Campbell takes this tough
personal and how many times now we've seen him go
out there and open up an absolute can of water.
Speaker 11 (01:12:23):
Boy will pay on another team.
Speaker 9 (01:12:25):
That's what I liked about the Dallas and they take
it personally because I remember when they went through a
string of wins and they won that first division title.
Speaker 11 (01:12:36):
Dan Campbell was like, who was here back then? Who
was you know? A hit for me was when he
looked at it, I think it was Skippers and Decker.
Campbell was there for some of this stuff. It means
something to them.
Speaker 9 (01:12:48):
So for people to think that this guy, like like
as if Ben Johnson was offensive coordinator the entire time,
No Dan Campbell has been the mastermind here.
Speaker 11 (01:12:56):
I'm so tired of people continuing.
Speaker 9 (01:12:58):
To try to let this meatthead type of persona loom
in his in his background, some skeleton and close and
all he's proven himself to be is one of the
most intelligent football coaches and aggressive football coaches in all
of the league. To the point that you got other
teams crying about it. You can see the NFL. They're
not finding nobody.
Speaker 11 (01:13:16):
They're like, oh, we like this out of Dan Campbell.
Speaker 9 (01:13:20):
And if people underestimate that this season, I think they're
gonna be in for a very, very rude awakening.
Speaker 11 (01:13:25):
They're gonna remember exactly what this Liions team is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
Speaking of rude awakening, speaking of the Detroit Lions, there's
a player on this team that I think is the
best defensive player already. And I think that player is
Brian branch Who. I think it's Brian Branch I said it.
I believe it. Ada Hutchinson. We shall see he gets
back to player for him. I don't think you can
deny what he is. I don't think you can deny
what he's capable of right now. I think it's Brian Brams.
(01:13:49):
Somebody got paid today big time. Somebody got paid today
that plays the same position as Brian branch That player
was Kyle Hamilton of the Baltimore Raven figures nine figure
gill for safety in the NFL today.
Speaker 6 (01:14:06):
That changes the landscape a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
It changes the landscape tremendously. Is Brian Brandts next up
here in Detroit to get paid as one of those
players that Brad Holmes makes promises to if you do
what you're supposed to do, which he has and more,
you get paid. You know, will that be here? Because
if he does, it's going to be double his partner
(01:14:30):
in crime, Kirby Joseph in terms of guaranteed money.
Speaker 7 (01:14:34):
It's funny you said double, okay, because if you take
number sixteen and you double with the secondary, you get
thirty two. And that's Jared Goff of the defense right there.
He's going nowhere. He's going nowhere. What did you just
call Brian bran like Jared Goff of the defense, The
Jared Goff of the defense guy.
Speaker 11 (01:14:55):
Six's thirty two.
Speaker 7 (01:14:56):
You're sixteen with the secondary is thirty two. And I'm
telling you this guy's going nowhere. He does so many
things on the line back in the back of the
field when he's rushing, being able to cover, being able
to just smack.
Speaker 6 (01:15:12):
Guys into next week.
Speaker 7 (01:15:13):
This guy brings a grit, but also a mentality and
intelligence a very very few guys do. He hits like
Ronnie Lott, and he understands like Ed Reid. This guy
is a lion for life.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
Don't sleep on Cole and Brianie. Lott was a DVD safety.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
Look.
Speaker 2 (01:15:30):
I like what you said. He is a cerebral player,
remember early on in his career, and don't get me wrong,
he still does the thing here and there, but I
think he learns from him. I think he did one
thing two years ago. He had a couple late hits.
The late hits were costing him. And then last year
I think he flipped the double bird, which you know,
I don't mind, but you can't do it. You can't
do it out there. But he got better. He didn't
have anything like that happened for the rest of the year.
(01:15:51):
And that was early the first Green Bay game. He's
a monster. He's what we call it stat filler. He
is a stat filler. He will have two sets, he
will have five picks, he will have one hundred tackles,
he will have, past deflections, he will have and he
will do it all and does it all at a
high level. Like the Detroit Lions with him out there
(01:16:12):
are so much better, so much better. You take him
away from that fabric next year, I don't know what
that looks like.
Speaker 11 (01:16:20):
It's not gonna stick.
Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
I went down the rabbit hole and during during like
the Heisman season, I kind of go down the rabbit
hole and watching old Heisman seasons, like seeing what guys were, Uh,
Honey Badger Tyron Matthew, who finished runner up to Marcus Mariotta.
Speaker 6 (01:16:36):
Oh my god, he was so good.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Like his highlights are ridiculous. It's believe it, it's nuts,
it's punk returns, it's kick returns, it's picked sixes, it's
all the things. His first game was a ball game
and he just went crazy. But I like that he
is a Honey Badger type player man, and when he's
on the field, he's just everywhere, and he has a
knack for being there when it matters the most.
Speaker 7 (01:16:59):
The honey sure you guys are trying to I've been
calling him since we drafted him because you look at
his tape and he was like the honey Badger. He
played a roll over the place. He affected and disrupted
in all different forms. But this guy does it at
a higher level in the NFL than the other guy that.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Right out the game too, right, and I think too.
It's how he came into the league. You look at
Tyron Matthew. Tyron Matthew came in after suspension, after missing
the season, trying to figure out the way, trying to
get back into the game. Brian Branch came into this
league fully off in Alabama season, which he felt like
he got disrespected in his draft picks. Ladies and gentleman.
He did. And for all those who don't disagree, he's
(01:17:38):
got something for you right there. It's called the double Bird.
Speaker 6 (01:17:42):
He got forever.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
And he came in his first game. He let us know.
He put us on notice and arrowhead first game, pick six,
start the game. This is who I am, this is
what I'm gonna do. And he hasn't let us down
any step of the way. He's been that that's the
very first game. That's how you judge a player. Man,
he's been locked and loaded. So I agree with that.
Say quick commercial Bay, because we gotta have some phone
(01:18:05):
when we come back. There's some topics around the NFL,
topics around college. We talked a little bit to Brady
Quinn about some of those, but I'm gonna get you
guys's thoughts on that. Maybe a player from the Jaguars,
you know, maybe what is a team in Washington gonna do?
And also our own division. But let's get a message
in from Lady James. It's wicked awesome.

Hey, and we're back, uh trying to come home with
some some topics to talk about as relates to the NFL.
What the stories are obviously Marcao Parsons, we'll talk about
briefly because everyone's talking about it and kind of tired
of hearing about it. There's some good stories around the NFL,
and I'm gonna ask you, guys, what do you think
about the stores? So this would be kind of me
interviewing you, uh kool a. I'll go down the list
(01:22:58):
this way and then you just find it.
Speaker 10 (01:23:00):
First story just mentioned what the story is about.
Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
I got you. We'll start with Michael since we already
allude to that, and we can get that one out
of the way answered. I come to you first as
it relates to Michael Parsons and Jerry Jones. I think
Jerry Jones has watched this situation yet again. This is
what he does. It's very reminiscent of Emmitt Smith. Everyone's
watching the Dallas Cowboys on Netflix, and guess what happened
(01:23:25):
with inm Smith. He was sending as the best running
back in the league. So they thought, we know what
the real best running back was. He resided here in Detroit,
but they didn't want to pay the man after winning
two super Bowls. After winning Super Bowl MVP, set out
two games. Set out two games, and Smith did. They
lost them both, and then Jerry realized, let me pay
this man this thirteen point five million dollars. Then what
(01:23:47):
they do won a Super Bowl? Smith, I think he
led the league in rushing and he this two games.
Speaker 6 (01:23:57):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're running this.
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
Two games because he was running behind the best offensive
line ever. With that being said, it seems like this
is just what they do. Let me just delay ceedee
lamb and to the end and in signing right for traying.
Let me delay Dak Prescott, let me delay EMITTT. Smith.
It seems to be the Jerry way, like where you
will Michael Parsons get paid before the season starts and
or will he play the first game?
Speaker 7 (01:24:21):
Won't get paid before the season starts. I don't see
him sitting out. I think he's playing for a.
Speaker 6 (01:24:26):
Contract and I don't know. It's a great question.
Speaker 7 (01:24:30):
The great parallel you just brought up there, because it
is possible that he could sit out. There's plenty of
parallels you can truly draw from this situation. Both incredibly
impactful on their side of the ball. But I do
believe that persons will be in the lineup week one
and not extended.
Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
Cool it I come to you, will Michael Parsons be
extended by the first game, and and or will he
play my first game if he does not have a contract.
Speaker 9 (01:24:56):
I don't think he's gonna play if he doesn't have
a contract. You've heard the noise from from Pops, You've
heard the noise from him, and now he's taking the
thing public. And I feel like Jerry Jones doesn't want
a cave too much.
Speaker 11 (01:25:07):
Man, you look at it, even.
Speaker 9 (01:25:08):
With a guy like Chris Chris Silis now who doing
off seasons, like, you know what, I just don't want
to give you those terms. It weren't even about the bread.
It was just about those terms if you don't have
the power. I feel a little bit of that with
Jerry Jones.
Speaker 11 (01:25:21):
I don't think he's gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:25:22):
Have that extension.
Speaker 13 (01:25:23):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
Yeah, I am in I am in the camp that
he will not get the extension. I think Michael Parsons
won't play this year. I think, hey all, I don't
think he pays until he gets the contract, is what
I'm saying. I don't the fact that the documentary dropped,
right is this is going on and you see the peril.
I mean, they haven't won a Super Bowl, but you
see them not pay a guy that they know is
(01:25:45):
directly helping their success, like Michael Parsons. Dallas Cowboys have
been all over the place in the last four or
five years. They've been thirteen wins, they've been five wins,
they've been terrible, they've been good enough in the regular season.
But one content they've had is Michael Parson. From the
start of his career, he has acted on a level
of a man child. He's made play after play after play.
(01:26:06):
When he plays, they have better opportunities to win games.
And you don't want to pay him? Why would I
come on the field for no money? Why would I
come up with and endanger the potential? You see what
happened eight Hudgson last year. You see what happened eight
Hudgson last year. And if you don't want to pay
me now with my value is this? When my value
is this work? What happens if you get injured? What
happens if he's on that table And it is not
(01:26:26):
because he's tired of watching preseason. He's on that table
because he's done something to himself.
Speaker 7 (01:26:31):
But if he sits out, it's not going to help
his contract value at all. He's going to be deemed
a problem.
Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
But he's already he's already deemed that sure, so.
Speaker 7 (01:26:39):
I think it's even more important for him to get
on the field to try and dismiss that.
Speaker 6 (01:26:43):
And then the other thing is if he doesn't play,
you're looking at you look at it.
Speaker 9 (01:26:47):
I look at Alie McNeil, bro you think didn't get
that bread And I wonder how much of Alee McNeil's
situation is actually ringing in Michael Parson's head right now.
Speaker 6 (01:26:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:26:58):
To me, I think it's differ when you look at
having to sit out and then having to sell a
team on your stats from the year before and ye
having absolutely nothing. There's not a lot of guys that
have sat out and come back and been successful.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
That's fair. The one thing I will say though, is
Mike is unique because he's the only person to ever
do the stats that he had. He's the only player
to ever have fourteen or more sacks in his first
four years. He's the only player ever. So when you
look at it like that, yeah, he may a lot
may come with the podcast and lot me come with
the other stuff. Whenever he is on that field, he
is ripping it up for the Dallas Cowboys and representing
(01:27:32):
that star in a way that Jerry Jones should be
appreciative of. If you're not going to value me when
I'm doing that, then I'm sitting out this.
Speaker 7 (01:27:40):
I think it's more than the situation that happened with
Emmett Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
See it won Super Bowls.
Speaker 7 (01:27:47):
I get that well, and I don't think that those
guys were really in a big tith. It was one
guy wanting to get paid and then the other one,
you know, not willing until they lost two games. This
seems a little more personal. This seems a little more personal,
and to me, Micah is the big loser if he
sits out, because you don't win when Jerry Jones is involved. So,
(01:28:08):
hearing the things that I've heard about it, Jerry Jones
seems pissed off about something, which he often does. But
it seems like somewhere along the negotiation somebody told something
or said something that he felt was the wrong way
or untrue, and now.
Speaker 6 (01:28:22):
He's digging in.
Speaker 7 (01:28:24):
And I mean, I get the injuries and the Elee
McNeil comparison and everything like that, but if I am his,
if I'm MICA's representation, I'm telling you to get on
the field, change the narrative as to what type of
human being you are, and remind everybody the kind of
production that you can put up there, because you will
(01:28:45):
make more money in twenty twenty six than if you
sit out.
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Yeah, I'd sit out because at the end of the day,
once they realize they can't get to the quarterback and
they need number eleven on that field. Now you got
to come back with the money. We'll put a pin
in that one. There is a young man who is
taking the reins at the QB position in this division
for the Minnesota Vikings, and his name is JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 6 (01:29:08):
I mean the white Jaden Jaydon Daniels.
Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
You know what, I like that comparison. Let's start with
kool aid on this side. Where are you with the
possibility that JJ McCarthy is going to step into the
situation and actually flourish and give the Detroit Lions in
this division all the hell they want.
Speaker 9 (01:29:25):
You know what, man, this is pulling on my hearts.
Stings a little bit because Avid JJ at the greatest
university of all times, shut upon's face, go blue University
of Michigan. But you know what I said this last year,
even with Sam Darnald, and people thought I was crazy.
I told people before the season started it would be
the Vikings and not the Packers who would pose the
(01:29:46):
greatest risk in NFCY North to.
Speaker 11 (01:29:48):
The Detroit Lions.
Speaker 9 (01:29:49):
And it's because of everything they have around the quarterback
that I believe allows it to work for them. They
have a defense that's going to make it easy on them.
That defense goes out there and they get stops man
and when you're look at everything they have on offense,
it's just enough for a young, inexperienced quarterback to go
out there and piece it together as long as he
plays what safe.
Speaker 11 (01:30:08):
That's what we saw.
Speaker 9 (01:30:09):
Him do at University of Michigan, and I do believe
that gives him a chance and for the Vikings to
still continue some of that success that that last year
and be the second best team in the North, even
if JJ McCarthy's stats don't.
Speaker 11 (01:30:23):
Blow you away.
Speaker 2 (01:30:24):
Right, Antony, you've already talked at great length. You know,
you may be a Michigan State guy. We have a
back and forth, but you've always respected JJ, and you
said that JJ is gonna step into the situation and
do well.
Speaker 7 (01:30:35):
Yeah, I mean, well, let's first talk about Sam Darnold. Okay,
I'm done talking about Sam Darnald.
Speaker 6 (01:30:41):
All right.
Speaker 7 (01:30:43):
This team has one of the best wide receiver rooms
in the league. They've got a premiere tight end. They
add Jordan Mason to now they got the one two
punch him and him and Aaron Jones. Jordan Mason, by
the way, highest paid backup running back in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
All right, he saw what he did last year. If
he didn't get her last year, he was on pace
for a twelve thirteen hundred.
Speaker 7 (01:31:02):
He's a player, you know. Now you look at this team.
To me, Vikings have a top five to six offense,
our defense, excuse me, period. All right, this is a
team that won fourteen games last year with Sam Donald.
Speaker 6 (01:31:15):
Okay, you look at.
Speaker 7 (01:31:17):
JJ McCarthy, and yes, I am a spartan, but I
watched his story. As you know, the rivalry was unfolding,
and this is a guy that well, we're gonna bring
him here, but he's not gonna be able to do it.
Speaker 6 (01:31:29):
Is it Kim or is it Kid?
Speaker 7 (01:31:31):
And then he ascends, but he's not gonna be able
to take him anywhere. And next thing you know, he's
in a national championship game. Doing everything they needed him
to do in that final drive to win. You said
it now what I saw in a microcosm of his
one preseason game last year. Turned over the ball in
first quarter and then he dominated after that. And what
(01:31:52):
do the Lions struggle with mobile quarterbacks? This guy instantly
is one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the league,
can throw on the run. And yes, he was a
handoff merchant in college, but they've had a whole year
to work with him, and we've seen that work so well.
Speaker 6 (01:32:10):
And I know that.
Speaker 7 (01:32:11):
Mahomes and Lamar came in halfway through their first seasons,
but you look back at the Rogers and the Loves
and all of these guys that had time where it
wasn't put right on their shoulders immediately.
Speaker 6 (01:32:22):
This kid has all the character.
Speaker 7 (01:32:24):
That you could ever ask for in a premier quarterback.
He's got the moxie, he does have the arm, absolutely
has the arm. It's the decision making in the coaching
that's going to take him to the next level. But personally,
I believe he's the second best quarterback, no, no second
in that draft, but the second best in our division
as well. No catfish, no thank you on catfish and
(01:32:46):
I respect Jordan Love, but two years from now, I
respect Jordan Love, I don't love him. I'm not drafting them,
but I will say this, no, I got JJ McCarthy's
shares in all my Dynasty leagues.
Speaker 6 (01:32:59):
He is goin to scare the hell out.
Speaker 7 (01:33:02):
Of line fans every time we match up with him,
because he is him.
Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
I don't have to talk too much about it, you
already did. I would just add to the point that
you know, Kevin O'Connell had a chance to bring Sam
Darnold back.
Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
He did.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
Kevin O'Connell had a chance to bring back a backup
quarterback that could potentially argue for the starting job. He didn't.
They trust j J McCarthy. You talk about the handoff merchant.
They watched him work out, they bought him in. They
have doubled down and tripled down on JJ McCarthy at
every turn. And the one thing I do like you
mentioned the defense, you mentioned the offense. They just added
Adam Thielen to the team today. You know, Jordan Addison,
(01:33:34):
won't we be playing for the first six games. They
add Adam Thieling. You may say he's old, you may
say he's passed his prime. All he does is give
you nine hundreds, eight hundred yards seven eight touchdowns, and
the man catches first downs. I like that he missed.
He had seven hundred yards last excuse me, six eighty
five in ten games last year, you missed seven games,
still had six eighty five, had five touchdowns. So I'm
excited to see what that looks like for him, because
(01:33:55):
he's gonna be a professional receiver for young JJ McCarthy and.
Speaker 7 (01:33:58):
The crowd there, they're gonna get three times as loud
every time Feeling gets a first down, as he is
the home town guy. But I got to give a
shout out real quick to our chat. You got us
to one hundred and fifty likes already. The goal is
two hundred, all right. If you hit two or if
you hit eighty dollars in super chats, the Iserman statue
(01:34:20):
is going along with the awesome braylen one handed catch
over Darryl Reeves silver signed autograph. Oh and you know what, Bray,
I'm doubling super Chats for the rest of the show.
Speaker 6 (01:34:31):
Let's go.
Speaker 9 (01:34:32):
You know why we shout out to you guys, Man
love you body shut out to set man, we miss you.
Speaker 11 (01:34:37):
Mass Set. I know he would love to have a
shoutout right now.
Speaker 9 (01:34:40):
So shout out shut But you said something there as
those quarterbacks.
Speaker 11 (01:34:45):
Man, I can't let it go. Hold Jordan Love. Man,
what's what's going on there with?
Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
What do you think about Jordan Love?
Speaker 10 (01:34:58):
Be honest, honest, they don't give me that cool.
Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
Now, if you're gonna make a comment, you gotta add
some some stats with it. You gotta add some context,
you know, just something. Look.
Speaker 9 (01:35:10):
But also said with Jordan Love is this You got
the expectations the last two years of the Packers on
every national media radar, people saying that they're ready to
pass up the Lions. And this is before the Lions
even won a division. What we get the Lions on
a division, you get Brian guten Kus making his stupid
remarks about we don't raise division banners. And what happened
the next year? Not only did we smack him again,
(01:35:31):
but then you lost your number two spot to the Vikings.
For me to respect Jordan Love, he has to finally
punch the ticket on the expectations. And if the Packers
are not better than the Lions or the Vikings, I
can't use that our world with them.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Yet I like to I like to take on Green
Bay because if you look at gooten Kiss, if you
look at Jordan Love, if you look at Matt Lafleur's
on the sideline and a little issue with the flag,
it just seemed like they're starting to turn the corner
on their their their feathers being really roughly, really rough
into what they were. All right, let's move on. Uh
new Aaron, same old, justin New York Jets, my squads.
(01:36:07):
You bought him up. You talked about the New York Jets,
j E t s Are they gonna be Jets Jet?
Just this year Aaron Glenn, we know what he came out.
He was the number one coordinator as as as ranked
by the players last season, the year before. It's got
Justin Fields, a journeyman quarterback at this point, he's still young,
but he's been on four teams. Down on one twoh third?
(01:36:30):
What say you?
Speaker 10 (01:36:33):
He's looking at you.
Speaker 11 (01:36:34):
What the hell you're talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:36:36):
What you mean you're gonna hit the second option on
that first options? Open? No, what do you think about
this Jets team? Because obviously defense, they have some talent
on defense side of the ball. You look at Quinn Williams.
You look at saust Gardner, Detroit King's own that offensive
side of the ball. The quarterback. They cannot get the quarterback, right,
what say you, justin fields Ner Jets.
Speaker 7 (01:36:55):
No, they will not be the same old Jets, Jets Jets.
Speaker 6 (01:36:59):
This team will be responsible.
Speaker 7 (01:37:03):
Each man on that fifty three man roster will be
responsible to the other.
Speaker 6 (01:37:07):
And that's because of that man right there.
Speaker 7 (01:37:09):
Ag. He brings a different culture and tempo and responsibility.
Speaker 6 (01:37:15):
He makes sure everyone is.
Speaker 7 (01:37:17):
Responsible for not only their assignments on the field, but
them as a human being and as a man. Everything
I've seen out of over there, from his press conferences
to the practices. It might not happen overnight in terms
of the first month of the season, but Ag will
have them absolutely on the right path. I love the
(01:37:38):
fact that they're gonna have Isaiah Davis along with my
boy Braylan Allen and Breise Hall.
Speaker 6 (01:37:44):
With this running back for a quarterback.
Speaker 7 (01:37:48):
You got four weapons and they're going to grind you
into the dirt if they can, and then the defense
on the other side of the ball will be able
to do the same. So they might be winning time
of possession in a lot of games Brayland, and that's
going to give them an opportunity to be an above
five hundred team. I'm not calling it, but nine wins
is not crazy by it all by I.
Speaker 2 (01:38:10):
Think they're floating on the line of eight to nine
or nine. Andy, I definitely think they're floating there. I
think it's because of Aaron g think it's because of
the defense. The offense has some they have some interesting players,
but just don't know how it's gonna look with Justin Fields.
Let's go to the guy that used to be the
quarterback for the New York Jets who's now in Pittsburgh.
I call this the desperate situation, and that is Mike Tomlin,
(01:38:32):
and that is Aaron Rodgers. You look at them, Mike Tomlin. Yeah,
he keeps having the stat that he hasn't had a
losing record. Ladies, gentlemen, when's the last time he went
to the playoffs and actually won a game. When's the
last time you actually believed in the Pittsburgh Still I'm honest,
last time I believed them. When's the last time they
didn't look disorganized on offense? Well, they brought in Aaron
Rodgers to see about it. They also bought in DK Metcalf,
(01:38:54):
so he's on my fantasy team. I hope he has
a good year. What say you, is Aaron Rodgers? Is
he and Mike Timland Are they gonna do anything to
refigure out that Super Bowl from twenty eleven which they
both were in just one oposit side?
Speaker 11 (01:39:09):
Hey, you know what, if they're gonna do it, it's
gonna be this year.
Speaker 9 (01:39:12):
I don't think there's much left in the tank personally
for Aaron Rodgers, and you're right, there's been a lot
left to be desired as it relates to Mike Thomlan,
at least the one that I continue to just give
the pass to because of what he was when I
was younger and watching them win a Super Bowl right
here in Detroit at Ford Field. But I don't I
(01:39:33):
think that it is as you put him in a
team of desperation, but I don't believe that it's gonna
be enough to actually spur them on to anything of substance.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
Will there be some some some moments.
Speaker 9 (01:39:43):
Yeah, there'll be some some moments, But I don't think
it's gonna be all out black rock.
Speaker 6 (01:39:48):
Nah.
Speaker 11 (01:39:48):
I don't think it's gonna be the full.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
The full subt You know, I like what you did there.
Speaker 11 (01:39:53):
Shout out to them on the bottom screen there, I
get your twenty percent.
Speaker 2 (01:39:55):
I like what you did there. I totally agree. Here's
one that's not on here, but I want to bring
it up. I think it's in. This is a good
when they're throwing Now the Washington Commanders, the Washington Commanders,
are they going to continue what they did last year?
Detroit Lion fans were all too familiar with Jayden Dames
and washingt Commanders. What happened last year the playoffs? I
asked that question. There's a such thing as a sophomore slump.
Just I just throw that in there, one hundred percent. Now,
(01:40:17):
there were injuries involved, but nonetheless there's a sophomore slump.
There's also the Washington Commanders have the oldest roster in
the NFL, and it's the oldest roster in twenty years.
Of the one you got Von Miller, you got Bobby Wagner,
zach Ertz, I mean the coaches in the sixties. So
and just let you know it is there's a seventeen
(01:40:40):
game season. Does that matter? Is that just a stat
that off it's a random stat or does that play
into the season for the Washington Commanders.
Speaker 7 (01:40:47):
I think it has to play in.
Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
I mean, eighteen weeks is a long time when you're
dealing with a lot of guys.
Speaker 7 (01:40:51):
Is thirty five, Yeah, but that experience certainly paid off
for them last year.
Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
You know they Bobby Wagon was amazing.
Speaker 7 (01:40:57):
Yeah, they finished about three games if they need he
could have lost obviously the Hail Mary against Catfish Caleb
and the Chicago Bears Chicago.
Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
Sorry, So.
Speaker 7 (01:41:10):
Anyway, I look at at what they were able to
do with that experience. I look at the additions like
a Debo and some others. I do believe that that
those close games that they barely lost or that they
barely won last year won't be quite as as close.
But they're gonna be a ten win team, probably enough
(01:41:30):
to get in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (01:41:32):
I don't see a sophomore slump for this kid.
Speaker 7 (01:41:34):
He plays at such a high level, both cerebrally checked downs.
Speaker 6 (01:41:39):
He has some of the best.
Speaker 7 (01:41:42):
Ballfaches and just actual you know, hand placement and trickery,
kind of like Mahomes and Rogers back in the heyday.
So he brings a lot of things beyond just his
running ability and his throwing ability. The team absolutely has
gravitated towards him, and he leads, they follow. I don't
think that they take this big step where we're going
(01:42:03):
to see them in the NFC Championship, and they also
could miss the playoffs, but I still see them probably
about the sixth seed. And make sure you get that
man on your fantasy team, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:42:13):
Yeah, I just send something to the slack for you
over there, Ricky. So if you get a second, here's
another one spur of the moment. I don't know why
I didn't have him on the original. There's a team
in Florida that moved up in the draft to draft
a certain individual, and that individual is Travis Hunter. We
know what he did in Colorado. He won the Heisman
last year. He played on average one hundred and twelve
(01:42:37):
snaps a game on average. If you move up the
spaces that the Daxsonville Jaguars did to draft Travis Hunter,
does he have to play both ways? And does he
have to average excuse me, one hundred players or more? Well?
Or is it a letdown?
Speaker 7 (01:42:56):
I love him as a receiver, but nobody is trading
up that value and giving up that capital to.
Speaker 6 (01:43:02):
Get the receiver of what he was ranked at.
Speaker 7 (01:43:07):
But Charles Woodson and this guy the only two heismen
that are defenders, right, Yeah, a little little difference, obviously
a caveat, But this guy, I'm.
Speaker 11 (01:43:20):
Approaching very very precarious territory.
Speaker 6 (01:43:22):
A man loves himself.
Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
You're right, But the only difference is Charles was the
number one dB.
Speaker 6 (01:43:30):
Yeah, I know that was I was fooling with you.
Speaker 7 (01:43:34):
Yes, I knew I did him on that one, But no,
you look at what he brings to both sides of
the ball, and I think that there was a lot
of question before the draft where he would go because
of that or the you know, some of these teams
saying I'm not going to play him with wide receivers.
We even heard some teams saying they wouldn't play him
at D back. But this guy, Uh, they have a
number one there, B T J. Bryan Thomas junior, absolute stud.
(01:43:58):
So he's not going to be asked to be their
number one. But the kind of receiver he is, it's
gonna fit right in. For Trevor Lawrence, a guy that
I've never been a fan of. Kind of feel like
he's slept on right now, at least in fantasy circles.
Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
He should be.
Speaker 6 (01:44:11):
He's primed to have a great season.
Speaker 13 (01:44:14):
Now.
Speaker 7 (01:44:14):
He didn't find BTJ really until about halfway through the
season realized what he had.
Speaker 6 (01:44:18):
Now he's got this kid playing both sides of the ball.
Speaker 7 (01:44:22):
I have not been more intrigued to see a player
come out of college maybe this century.
Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
To be quite honest with you, that's true. I was
interesting what Percy Harvin was gonna be when he's coming
out of Florida. He was one of those ones like, man,
what are he gonna do with Percy Harvin? I definitely agree.
I am not a Trevor Lawrence sympathizer. However, the conversation
over the last couple of years for me was, you know,
look how it started with whatever myyer didn't look how
it was when you bring in the head coach from
(01:44:50):
the Philadelphia Eagles and it not worked because his guy
was Frank Wright. And when he was a Frank Right,
Frank Wright's quarterbacks, his offense, it looked well. When you
didn't have him, it didn't look the same. So he's
kind of had a hotspot. The coach is offensive coordinated,
and it hasn't looked right. So we'll see if it
works the time. We'll take a quick commercial break when
we get back. I think answer wants to talk about
some uh some other things if you will, and we
(01:45:12):
got some We got lots on time. We appreciate you guys.
Will take quick commercial break and we'll be right back.

Welcome back brother of the show. As we wrap up
the day, we appreciate you guys for being patient. Love
that we had Brady Quinn in here. We're able to
get him on and get the insight that he had
about college football. The landscape is going to be interesting
this year. One question that I wanted to ask him,
we'll get back into the NFL. But one question I
wanted to ask him. I wanted to ask him about
the new system in the CAA, the playoff system. It's
(01:47:38):
not like it was last year. A lot of people
complain about SMU getting a bye, Arizona State getting a bye.
They complained about that. So now as opposed to this
is what it is based on being undefeated, based on
winning conferences. It's just the best teams. It is the
ranking order. So now the one through twelve that will
be your ranking, that will be how people get by
is it won't be because you're undefeated, because you that
(01:48:00):
are you the best team. That's gonna be the system
this year. So I think it'll be a lot better
getting back.
Speaker 6 (01:48:06):
And I don't think anybody should get biased. No, it
should be sixteen teams or eight period.
Speaker 2 (01:48:11):
Yeah, because it's not fair. At the end of the day.
If I gotta play these extra games, you do too.
I don't care what your record.
Speaker 6 (01:48:16):
Sure, if you.
Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
Want to make it like college, that's how it is
in college.
Speaker 7 (01:48:19):
Because some writer in the beginning of the season puts
you higher than you should have been, and now you're
gonna buy it's silly.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
We got some information. We're almost at any show. We'll
save this conversation for tomorrow. We'll be back here to
the fourth brother that we'll be back tomorrow. Got a
couple more, a couple more of these stories. One of
the big stories in college that I can't believe we
don't talk about more. Bill Belichick. Bill Belichick at U
n s him and his girlfriend. How breaking you see
(01:48:48):
him excited? I'm gonna go to you first. What is
the Bill Belichick, Big Papa Belichick? What does that situation
look like for you? And seeing him?
Speaker 8 (01:48:55):
I can't even tell you anything about the football because
it's all about his girls.
Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
That's what we talk about. You can talk about that, No,
it is.
Speaker 8 (01:49:03):
That's basically everybody's gonna be panities to where his girls sitting.
I feel like she's gonna get more airtime than Taylor's
with if that's possible.
Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
I mean, maybe she's like an influence of coke Classic
gets a lot of that too. Do you think this
will be successful? Do you think this unc run? I
think I'll let you go first. Do you think there
will be successful Bill Belichick to be had in acc
Bill Belichick?
Speaker 6 (01:49:31):
That's my answer, Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 7 (01:49:34):
This guy's been able to deflect anything else that's ever
come their way, from Deflakegate to Edelman photos of the
morning after a championship and everything in between. This is
the damn hoodie, even though he looks pretty dapper in
his smurf suit there.
Speaker 6 (01:49:50):
But listen, this guy is Bill Belichick. He's going to
a place where the bar is really low.
Speaker 7 (01:49:56):
Bray, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (01:49:57):
It's usc football, Like what do you?
Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
What do you?
Speaker 6 (01:50:01):
How do you get fired from that job when only
win three games? Four games?
Speaker 7 (01:50:05):
This guy is gonna go and win at least fifty
percent of his games his first year. And people will
come there because recruits like big names. They understand that
this guy knows what it is to be all NFL player.
He coaches at the NFL level, at the highest most rings.
So hey, you come here, I'm gonna get your prep
for the NFL and he's gonna get recruits and they're
(01:50:26):
gonna be fine.
Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
I notice you didn't call it Bill Belichick a cheater.
Speaker 6 (01:50:29):
Oh, he's a cheater.
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
Okayn't making I want.
Speaker 6 (01:50:34):
That stuff like Michigan does.
Speaker 7 (01:50:35):
They're both pro where you guys your flowers when it
comes to it, if you can get by it.
Speaker 6 (01:50:42):
You didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
Like that, it ain't it ain't blanking if he's trying.
But you're absolutely right. You look at Bill Belichick and
I don't think he's given enough credit. I think somewhere
along the way you demean the what is six plus two,
you've demeaned the eight Super Bowls that you've demean what
he's been as a defensive genius, genius, defensive savant, knowing
(01:51:07):
his game everybody You forget that, like you're talking about
more football than everybody in his state put together, everybody
in the state put together within him out to the
knowledge that he has. And I think he's gonna influence
that in UNC. You said to Lobar also, I think
taking that year off being on the desk, having some
(01:51:28):
fun with Pat McAfee, learning not to take itself so serious,
dating a girl nineteen years old, having some fun, getting
his groove back, as you say, I think it's gonna
allow him to tap into the players a little bit Differently.
I don't think he's coming in with the same energy
ed Eddie wasn't Fox Bors. I think it's going to
be successful.
Speaker 7 (01:51:46):
I got a question for that.
Speaker 2 (01:51:47):
I got to answer you.
Speaker 7 (01:51:48):
You got an eighteen year old son. He not recruited
by Michigan, but this guy wants him. You sending him
to UNC to play for Bill Belichick.
Speaker 10 (01:51:58):
Who else is he recruited?
Speaker 2 (01:52:00):
What's the money? What's the money looking right? And I am,
what's the money looking like?
Speaker 6 (01:52:08):
It's competitive as anywhere.
Speaker 7 (01:52:09):
He's got five solid offers, ones not Michigan, maybe one state.
Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
But you know what, But you know what, I wouldn't
have a problem with it. One he can go wherever
he would like. And actually that that day is actually nearing.
We'll talk about it later. I wouldn't mind because in
this landscape, the transfer portal, you can if it's not
working out, You're not handicapped to Bill Belichick for three years.
You don't have to put up with it if it's
not working and I can't. You don't have to put
(01:52:36):
up with a son. Look, you gave it a try.
It's Bill Belichick. We got some money out of the deal.
But let's go to a more inviting atmosphere.
Speaker 7 (01:52:44):
And you know how many parents around the nation over
the next year are going to be having that same
conversation and come to the.
Speaker 9 (01:52:49):
Same It's a good one, you know, man, Just like
Ricky the headline that I saw today, I know more
about their headlines than they're off the field stuff. Yeah,
they went and they're trying to get a patent or
something like that or trademark for gold Digger because they're
about to start their own jewelry line.
Speaker 6 (01:53:07):
Is that like Taco Tuesday?
Speaker 7 (01:53:08):
Because I'm pretty sure that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
One last question they we'll get into the mail bag. Look,
this is a team that is becoming the bane of
our existence as related to talking about it is Philadelphia
Eagles super Bowl champs. They are the champs. They're returning champs.
But will they have a Super Bowl hangover? Because one
of the interesting things they did on their roster they
made a lot of roster moves. Some of the guys
that were on this team hosting this Lombardi last season
(01:53:32):
are no longer with them. What does this look like
for Nick Sirianni, Jalen heard Saequon Barkley and the Philadelphia
Eagles has enough left to it be an interesting year
for them because their schedule is just as hard as
the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 6 (01:53:45):
You mean, the team that was gonna fire their coaching
Week eight last year.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
They figured it out though, didn't they in the locker room?
Speaker 6 (01:53:52):
Yeah, they certainly did.
Speaker 7 (01:53:53):
But hey, the NFC is different from the AFC. It
just seems so up and down for like the competitive
you know, Kansas City. Every year we can pencil him in,
you know, the Bills.
Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
Lamar with Rashie Rice got his sentencing to six games
for the rector's driving that he had on the freeway
last April. I do believe racing in Dallas six games
down from ten.
Speaker 6 (01:54:16):
Yeah, he's looking real good as my fourth round pick
right now.
Speaker 7 (01:54:21):
But no, this this situation in Philly, to me, they're
going to be probably the fourth or fifth seed or
miss the playoffs entirely.
Speaker 6 (01:54:31):
They lost some serious pieces.
Speaker 7 (01:54:34):
There's also a number attached to Saquon and it's a
very dangerous number, the amount of touches it he had
last year. If you go back through the last twenty
years and find a guy that touched the ball as
many times as Saquon and wasn't hurt the next year,
well you'll be able to fit them in the Palm
of your hand.
Speaker 6 (01:54:50):
There's very very few.
Speaker 7 (01:54:52):
So there's a lot of things going against the Super
Bowl defending champs right now. I still think they're a
playoff team, but that it's Philly Man. Stuff falls apart
just as quickly as it comes together.
Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
I like that, And with that we'll wrap up the
show Man. We appreciate you guys. Just get into this
mailbagkol a Hey, definitely.
Speaker 11 (01:55:11):
You know.
Speaker 9 (01:55:11):
I already see a couple in here from our chat family.
I saw one from Dante one five to one as well.
He's a little concerned with those Detroit Tigers every time
they face the age.
Speaker 11 (01:55:23):
He's saying, what the heck is out with it? Man,
what the heck is up with it? Seems like the
A's got the Tiger's number in the regular season.
Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
Realistically, that is that's been the case for a very
long time. Like that's not maybe even longer. I wouldn't
pay much attention to it. I think the Tigers are
in a really good spot right now. I think you're
getting some great pitching out of Trek School and even
the bullpen as well, especially the closes. I think you're
getting some hitters. Uh, You're getting some hitting, some good
hitting from the hitters, and it's just one of those things,
(01:55:51):
like it's one of those things he lose to a
certain team when I it's just happens. I wouldn't pay
too much attention to it. As relates to the Oakland Athletics.
I told you what happens. You go to lifetime and
you got this, you got that. Uh that's five on
the court, and you're looking like, I'm about to whoop
these dudes. Guys got the baggie shorts. Man, It's just
just look unathletic, unin shape, guys about five five, five seven.
(01:56:13):
You're like, man, go on his court and bust them up.
And then you look up, man, and they haven't missed
a two pointer. And you look up and the score
is ten to two. Damn, how did this happen? How
did this happen? They have not missed a two pointer,
and you're getting skunk. It's kind of like that hops
you play down to the level of your kind of
no hops also, but add everything into it. It's they've
(01:56:37):
been on the run, they've been on the heater. Uh
and in turn some some some serious games, some serious
series that they fall through that they've won. And now
they close out here, and now they go on the
West coast, and now they play in this crappy situation
that the Athletics have going. I don't even know where
they play. Where are they playing? They playing some Juco,
some Juco college. They playing out in the desert somewhere.
(01:56:57):
What the hell did they even play at? So I'm
not mad that the Detroit Tigers were going on to
god knows where, playing the Oakland Athletics, the Las Vegas Athletics,
or the Sacramento Athletics, or wherever they want to be
and losing.
Speaker 11 (01:57:09):
It is what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:57:10):
We'll take a.
Speaker 6 (01:57:10):
Loss of tea.
Speaker 7 (01:57:11):
As I about the time Opie dropped eight on him
at the I am West over there at Michigan State.
Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
And it happens from time to time. I'm not too
worried about.
Speaker 7 (01:57:24):
I tried boxing them out at one point, and I
really got a body on him and he came back down,
as you know, you want to box out.
Speaker 6 (01:57:30):
We played put me, put me in the cement wall.
Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
This would have been my This would have been my
sophomore summer going into my junior year. We were playing
at the CCRB up there in Michigan, and it's it's
me Marlon Jackson. Dave Underwood was our team, Lamar Prescott Burges,
and we had a squad of football players. But you know,
we're playing against some guys in the engineering program and
they had some size.
Speaker 6 (01:57:54):
They had players drawn up though what what they were?
Back to our Cutts.
Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
Puerto Rico engineer and we went in there talking stuff
and we looked up and we got ran out the gym.
Speaker 10 (01:58:06):
That's the worst what happened.
Speaker 6 (01:58:08):
It's like playing Duke.
Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
We played those same guys about a week or two
later and we beat him like we blew him out.
Speaker 11 (01:58:15):
How do we lose this guy?
Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
You went there and you slept on it came out.
But and now we were prepared. We went out there
and we prepared and we took care of business, just
like we did in this show. This was a challenging
show man.
Speaker 11 (01:58:26):
Look, man, I got one.
Speaker 7 (01:58:28):
I wasn't I got I heard the music coming out,
I got work.
Speaker 11 (01:58:32):
But this is a good one. Or maybe it's not,
Simo three one three acts?
Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
This which is this? Is this the infamous?
Speaker 11 (01:58:41):
Is this the infamous shout out?
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
They was lying on you, sim They was lying They
were lying on you. Now go ahead, cool, you about
to get his cancer.
Speaker 11 (01:58:53):
It's legend will Isaac Tesla before Jameson William.
Speaker 2 (01:59:02):
He's best as I'll tell you that what Jamo, No,
Tessa won't have more catches like Jamo's about like hear
me when I say this, Okay, ladies here when when
I say this, Jamo was about to have a year
like Jamo was about to have a year that he's
going to be a pro bowler and it's going to
borderline on how good the lines are if he's all
(01:59:23):
pro like it just is what it is. And I'm
and Saint Brown is that unselfish to where it can
happen and he wouldn't batter eye and he would be
in favor of it. He would help it happen.
Speaker 6 (01:59:33):
Talk to him.
Speaker 2 (01:59:33):
I got I have Jamo at seventy five. I got
Jamo at seventy five, thirteen, eighty five and fifteen, boy like,
that's why, That's why I have Jamo. John is gonna
throw the ball down the field when you come into
Ford Field or the Lions coming to your status? What
are you most afraid of? David Montgomery and Jamerica. It's
(01:59:54):
the running attack. It's the running attack that Sam report exists.
I dare your defense is to forget.
Speaker 5 (02:00:01):
That he exists.
Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
Everybody's getting fifteen hundred yards? Ye, Sam report you getting
fifteen hundred Think how could y'all not?
Speaker 13 (02:00:09):
So?
Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
Okay?
Speaker 11 (02:00:10):
Okay?
Speaker 13 (02:00:11):
Here? So he.
Speaker 2 (02:00:13):
So hear me out as this four o'clock hear me out.
Is this a Jared Golf MVP season.
Speaker 6 (02:00:22):
No, we don't win a wardship. We don't win a wardship.
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Wreck But but this, this is the difference. Dan and
Jared are both in line. Why Jared no longer has
his handicap, which is Ben Johnson. They keep giving him
all the credit anyway. So if Jared puts up those numbers,
if Jared leaves this team yet again, why can't he
get the credit? And Dan Campbell, Well, he doesn't have
Aaron Glenn, who you said it was because of him?
(02:00:49):
Is his culture, his identity. He doesn't have Ben Johnson,
who's the offensive google behind all these trick players.
Speaker 6 (02:00:54):
It's Dan.
Speaker 2 (02:00:55):
I think this is a year where Dan and Jared
it's in their hands.
Speaker 6 (02:01:00):
Stop the disrespect, stop the disrespect, and give DC.
Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
His That's how we're gonna end the show.
Speaker 6 (02:01:08):
And we're gonna give away a prize.
Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
Yes we are.
Speaker 7 (02:01:10):
I need five more likes to give away this. Come on,
five likes, let's get it, let's get it. I know
it's gonna happen, so I'm gonna go ahead and include it.
But I need those five likes. Let's shuffle this bad boy.
Speaker 6 (02:01:24):
Up one, two, three, and four and we are gonna
gonna spin it here? Whatnot?
Speaker 1 (02:01:36):
Who is.
Speaker 6 (02:01:38):
Mike Rear?
Speaker 17 (02:01:39):
