Buddy's gift card. We'll be doing on a three thirty
hour barn mine. I'm so glad as I look at
that opening and I've seen that goes see. I'm glad my.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Beer is starting to real bag without it.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I did, I did. All my pictures have my beard.
I've had my beer for ten years and even before
that with Jets kind of became the thing fear of
the beer. So I'm glad to say that the shadow
is getting.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Darker right here, Tom mass Away, good afternoon to you,
my friend.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
Hey right, good to have you back.

Speaker 7 (01:19):
Hey, Brailn, Hey boys again, we're end the near the
end of March already, man, the twenty seventh of March. Man,
I cannot believe it, but this tells me that baseball
is in the air.

Speaker 6 (01:31):
Now.

Speaker 7 (01:31):
Is there any better sport that opens their season other
than baseball? It's the most exciting opening of any sport,
hands down, barned Unk, Are you serious.

Speaker 8 (01:42):
Yes, it's like the kickoff of summer off.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
So Thursday night, So Thursday night in September means nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, it's fine. Hey, this is about it. It's so
funny that you say that, Ricky Burns.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
And you guys, you guys clamor for football.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I beg for it.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
And you mean to tell me you're not the most
excited when it starts in season. I think, I think,
I think you guys.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
It is interesting because locally in each local market in Detroit,
in Cincinnati, in Pittsburgh, in Baltimore, they are many holidays.
But if you look at the sport of baseball as
a whole, First of all, you open the season two
weeks before everybody else does in.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Japan at six am. I don't count, and.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Then you you count tonight.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Yeah, tonight count.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
And then you open the seas opening day on sweet
sixteen Thursday. You know, I mean like it just feels
like every opportunity baseball has to screw itself, they'll take.

Speaker 7 (02:44):
It, you know, I mean, forget I said it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
What makes does I was just a little curious about
it because I think they've gotten it wrong every step
of the way.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
What makes you say it? Is the bigger question?

Speaker 7 (02:55):
Maybe it just maybe just means it's my favorite sport
because I'm the most excited when I see a baseball game.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
I already doubt me and Pete we split the season.

Speaker 7 (03:03):
No, I agree with you. You watched that you have
the MLB package. We split it to save some money.
I cannot wait. I'm signed it on my computer. I'm
signing it at home. I'm just gonna go home. I
took bowling off tonight so I could flip jams and
watch games.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
By the way, I did see like all T mobile
users get MLB.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
TV for free. Did you see that good?

Speaker 7 (03:22):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (03:23):
What?

Speaker 6 (03:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I saw something good. It's a promotion, you know, it's
a promotion.

Speaker 8 (03:27):
I mean it's pretty expensive. Who's got mobile?

Speaker 6 (03:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I saw it T Mobile.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
I haven't had T Mobile since the sade.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
Never whe Direct TV was there special. Hey, we'll give
you a fol ticket. I wonder if which I wonder
if that is why?

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Uh? Team Mobile was the number one downloaded app yesterday.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
About that something? I wonder if that now?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
If you're watching US live, Uh, the season openers have
not started yet. The first game is in New York.
The Yankees open up at home against the Brewers. Toronto
at home against the Blue Jays, and then at four
o'clock there's a bevia games Washington, Texas, Miami, in Cincinnati.

(04:16):
The White Sox open today, the Royals. Lots of games
at four o'clock today.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
Got to watch Elie Della Cruz.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
The Tigers' that's your breakout star of twenty twenty five.
The Tigers open up tonight seven o'clock against the Dodgers. Again,
if you're watching US live, that's that I did just
quick baseball note, it's unacceptable. I think I saw this note.
Our good friend Joe Shadd used to write for, used
to be an NFL reporter for ESPN. Now he's a

(04:43):
beat guy in Miami for the Dolphins. But Joe Shad
today tweeted out that the Miami Marlins will open up
the season with an active major league player payroll of
forty two million dollars. One himself makes sixty one million dollars.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
Amazing.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
That should not be allowed. That's a sin baseball. You,
like the owner of the Miami Marlins, should be if
you don't want to spend money on your team out.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
Yep, you are out. We will take the team away
from you.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
Agreed.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
That should be the case, because no one player in
baseball should make more than an entire team. It just
shouldn't be allowed.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
How about the Dodgers. Their payroll is just under two billion.
That's more than fourteen major league teams. What they're worth,
what the team is worth, They're worth less than what
the Dodgers are paying their players this year.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
Fourteen teams. That's a sin.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah, yeah, sorry, night is we talked about as relates
to the Dodgers and what they're paying their players, But
they're winning. That seems like the way to make it
happen these days. You got to spend all that money.
And you know they have the Japan connection right now.
That's why he started the season nine out there. They
got the pipe blind. They've got to figure it out.
The question is does everybody start trying to conform into
what the Dodgers are doing, what the Yankees have done
for years? Like, is that the way that they're going

(06:10):
to operate now at MLB? New teams try to file
that model? Where will you start seeing team still stay
in their own lane, which the Marlins clue you have
and is not working.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
It just goes to show you too. And you know
benver Laina mentioned this months ago. Don't hate the Dodgers,
hate your owner for not doing what the Dodgers are doing.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
What the Dodgers make more money than my owner.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I understand owner is a.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
Pauper compared to the Dodgers owner.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
I understand that. But it wasn't always like that. The
Dodgers spent money, they went out to Japan, they offered
a sweetheart deal to a show.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Hey, o, Tanya, I understand that, but they compare the
Dodgers to the Tigers.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Okay, maybe you don't have to spend a billion dollars
or two billion dollars, but you can spend one hundred million.
Come on, man, you can feel the major League Baseball team.
If you're the Miami Marlins owner, you can feel the cup,
no question. You can feel the major team. There's no question.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
You know, you don't have to pay a bunch of
minor leagues.

Speaker 7 (07:03):
So me and Rob banford Is let a lot of
things go, including that. And of course there are two
teams in the American League playing in minor league stadiums
for this year and it could be for many years
after this.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
That is pathetic, absolutely pathetics, there's no question. So we
have lots of baseball talk today, we'll get to it
a little bit. Today is a would you rather day.
I've got some questions that we've lined up. I love
a good would you rather? We have not played it
in quite some time, but we will also, and you

(07:37):
know everybody talks about let Brad cook, We let Pete
cook over here today, We let Pete cook today? Should
we show the wheel?

Speaker 7 (07:47):
Now?

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Should we give them a little note? Show the wheel?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
So at three point thirty today, as Braylan mentioned in
the first minute of the show. We are going to
pick the winner of the Houston's ticket giveaway tomorrow night
they play the Calves the Eastern Conference leading Cleveland Cavaliers.
Could be a preview of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

(08:12):
Could be a preview. You'll get third row two third
row seats, a parking pass and dinner at Joke Bell's Parlay.
You'll be able to win that tomorrow. If you have
donated to the Woodward Sports Chat over the course of
the last three weeks, you have been automatically entered into this.

(08:33):
It is waited proportionally with how much you have donated.
Pete Spivik took this challenge and he has created the
Wheel of Hope.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
The wheel.

Speaker 8 (08:45):
Do you want to see it?

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I want to show the people. This is what the
wheel looks like. We're going to spin the wheel now.
This is waited. B Martin donated a lot of money.
More than half of the super Chat went to B Martin,
so he has half the money. That does not mean
he's going to win, but everybody who donated over the

(09:09):
course of the last three weeks is included in this
drawing and we will see what the wheel decides. Coming
up at three thirty. It would let Pete cook the
will could see.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
The will could look a lot different because remember we
told you guys like if you would have paid the twenty,
you would have just got to ten. But a lot
of guys like Burn and shout out to Burn. Burn's
name came up a lot of time. But you know what,
it was a lot math five dollars, five dollars, five dollars,
ten dollars, and some of those days Burn would do
it on the same day, like five five five, So
that's what we what.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
A couple of your rookie cards though he did.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
We'll see though, because at the end of the day,
it doesn't matter how many you put in. All it
took is one. We will see. I'm excited though. Shout
out to Pete. Pete worked hard on that last night.
He couldn't get the algorithm necessarily to work, but he
stuck out of it, stuck at it even before the
show started, still was getting it working.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
And second, Harriet right now he is the heavy favorite,
so you never know because Sham is right there.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
Sham was the guy that's.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Stuck with Secretariat through all three races but finished second
each time except the last race where he just ran
out of guess, so burn your your sham.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
What was the horse that wasn't even in the Kentucky
Derby two years ago and they ended up winning rich
Stripe Here it is all you need is a shot.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
They call him Richie, and there's always mine that bird,
a fifty to one shot.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
You never know who is rad my that bird. We
will talk to doctor Jeff Pierce today as well, coming
up after three thirty, after the drawing, we'll talk to
doctor Jeff Pierce. I think we could probably fill up
the doctor Pierce segment with all of the ailments that
we have in this room alone.

Speaker 8 (10:51):
I don't have graphics for the segment.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Serious, I mean, it's incredible, it's credit.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
I look, yeah, well.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
This way you finish.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Tom Manway can't Tom Man's way can't move his arm.
I could barely sit.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
I could barely.

Speaker 7 (11:09):
I literally.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
So yesterday I got X rays on my tailbone. I look,
I injured this tailbone last Tuesday. It has not gotten
any better until yesterday. Truly.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
The secret sauce.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Well, I but I got extra because I thought, like, okay,
this is this is not getting better. It is it
was getting a little bit worse. I can walk, I
could run a marathon. I cannot sit down even though
I'm sitting down, Like for me to get up off
a seated position, it really hurts. I I injured my tailboat, right,

(11:51):
But it is what it is.

Speaker 6 (11:52):
You make all the jokes you want it. It hurts
like hell.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
And I got X rays yesterday in steroid shots to
make uh what do you call it? Uh make the
pain go away? Uh? And uh so that is the secret.
Sauce is starting to settle a little bit. Uh So
that's good. So but man, we're like the walking wounded

(12:16):
here in sports.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
Hey, I got doctor.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
Yeah, I am actually going to doctor Peers. I gave
up on my physical therapy. I'm putting it aside and
I'm going to doc. It's gonna be good.

Speaker 6 (12:28):
I'm all done, Ricky. You got anything you got going on?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
You need that now.

Speaker 9 (12:32):
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
I feel great, actullly.

Speaker 8 (12:33):
I went to the gym this morning, did legs.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
I'm good.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I'm not gonna lie. I was pod sure. But uh
but that's good because a lot of times I feel like,
as as men, what we do is we ignore the pain.
You suppress the pain, you push it down the line.
You just keep kicking the can. As Ryan talks about
certain different things, you keep kicking the can down the road,
kicking the can down the road. We have access to
doctor piers, We have the access to medicine, doctors, insurance,

(12:57):
at least, you know you guys do so take advent.
I'm glad you went.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
You messed up it all over there.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Yes, actually I am.

Speaker 10 (13:04):
I don't know if I have a punctured lung or not.
You do that over when over my birthday weekend? Maybe yeah,
maybe things got a little too crazy my birthday weekend.
Ever since December twenty eighth, I can't really sleep on
my right side.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
No kidding, Yeah, not kidding.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
What is not kidding?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
What you do for your birthday?

Speaker 6 (13:25):
What did you get trucked and start vomiting?

Speaker 10 (13:28):
I started vomiting and good things happened after that, and
there was there's been consistent pain ever since.

Speaker 9 (13:35):
And I mean, like it feels like kind of stiff.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Yeah, so we're all walking wounded here.

Speaker 7 (13:39):
Bro it hurts when I do this, don't do that,
do that?

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Oh my god. Yeah, we're all prepared for that, right either.

Speaker 6 (13:48):
I'm walked right into that.

Speaker 8 (13:49):
I'm not kidding.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
You never know.

Speaker 8 (13:51):
You don't have to do a show at Doctor Pearson.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Were alive.

Speaker 7 (14:00):
We're in Lavogna.

Speaker 11 (14:01):
You are live with the lobby.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
We're all waiting for our appointments here the lobby, the lobby.
Oh my gosh. All right, guys, let's get into it
a little bit here. Detroit Tigers kick off their season tonight,
first pitch, seven to ten against the Dodgers. ESPN's Jeff
Passon he does have high hopes for the Tigers this year.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
Here's what he had to say on ESPN.

Speaker 12 (14:28):
Like, you see the Kansas City on my shirt right here,
And for the majority of spring training, I was thinking,
you know what, I'm going to pick the Royals to
win the American League Central. And the last stop I
made on my spring training tour was in Lakeland, Florida,
earlier this week. And just seeing the amount of pitching
that the Detroit Tigers have, guys, like, it's overwhelming. It

(14:50):
is exceptional. That cater Montero, guy who started a playoff
game for them and was integral in their run last year,
going thirty one and eleven down the stretch and making
the postseason, he's not even making the team and that
they can add a guy like Jackson Job who has
frontline potential to a rotation that already includes the American

(15:12):
League SIAM winning Trek Scubell Jack Flaherty. On top of
that Casey Miz has looked fantastic this spring. We're not
even talking about Alex Cod yet, who they signed this offseason.
And the biggest part of it with the Tigers to
me is that with Chris Fetter and Robin Lund as
their pitching coaches and aj Hinch pulling the string as

(15:32):
his manager like they deploy their pitchers maybe better than
any other organization out there. And so I wound up
picking the Tigers to win the Central and people in
Kansas City are not very happy with me right now.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
So the Tigers in the Central, well, I don't know
why people in Kansas City wouldn't be happy with him
right now. I mean, I couldn't care less what so
called expert picks whoever to win a division a silly
prediction like that. But you might be taking yourself too
seriously there, Jeff Passon. I mean, my goodness, people in

(16:08):
Kansas City are not happy.

Speaker 11 (16:09):
I pretty.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
They all do Scheffler like Ian Rappaport passing. They all
take themselves.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
The people in Kansas City is.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Upset with me.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Then I picked the Tigers to come on, Man, it's fine.
But look, I think a lot of us here in
Detroit if there was no if there were no injuries
to start the year, if you know, you had Meadows
and Veerling and even when sel Perez, if you didn't
have those injuries, I think we'd feel a lot better
here about the Tigers.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
If they had Parker metals. Feel better? Yeah, how's that?

Speaker 3 (16:46):
If the Tigers had a bigger bat, a big bat
that you could count, a veteran bat in their lineup,
or right handed bat in their lineup that you can
count on, would you feel better about them? Yes, I
think all of us would say. AL Central champs, no doubt,
contend for the American League Championship. Absolutely, But I think
the lineup does give a lot of us pause.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
The Lion doesn't. It definitely gives us a lot of pause.
At the end of the day, the Lion is the injuries.
I'm gonna take the Lions point of view. If the
Lions didn't have all these injuries last year, we liked
the Lions. We like what the Lions defense would have been.
We liked their chances to get to the Super Bowl
and even win the Super Bowl. That's what the Tigers
felt about their team currently. They won a playoff game
last year, and they were in the league to win
a second playoff game, so they retained that team. They

(17:29):
added a couple pieces, including pitchers, so they liked the
team they have. It just sucks that we got injuries.
The good thing about is the American League. There's no
short fire winners. You look at what the Yankee setbacks
have been. Look at our own division, the Central, It's
wide open. The American League is wide open. I think
it's the only thing that I'm optimistic about as the
season starts American the AL. It's no dominant teams in

(17:51):
the AL, so I think that that's good. That foes
well for the line.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
Yeah, here's your official roster. Guys.

Speaker 7 (17:56):
You got two catchers starting the twenty five Dylan Dingler
Jake Rogers. I don't have an issue with those guys.
You're infielders. Here's where it goes. Colt Keith is playing
first base for the first time. Trey Sweeney rookie coming back.
He played a good field last year. Let's see what
he could do now. Spencer Torkolsen. Where they gonna put him?
Are they gonna platoon him with Colt Keith? I don't know,

(18:17):
but he's hitting real well. Labor Torrez is your second baseman.
Kerry Carpenter's one of your outfielders. He stays healthy and
plays more than one hundred and thirty games. You're gonna
get a lot out of him. Riley Green the most
steady bat. Manuel Margo. They just signed him from the
Twins free agent. He used to play with the Rays.
He's had a down couple of years, but once in
a while he'll get you a hitting. You're in fielders,

(18:39):
you're the ones your bench. Javier Baiez, Ray, you got
some words on Javier Baiaz. I'm gonna get to you
in a minute. Andy Boniez, Ryan Kridler, Zach McKinstry. Zach
McKinstry could be your starting third baseman. He will be
your yeah, until everything gets worked out. And earlier today
we put out some predictions. JB.

Speaker 6 (18:59):
I think might set yourself.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah, we did, we did. I'll get that in a
in a second. I wanted to just to continue along here.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Jimmy the house.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Yeah, Jimmy, Jimmy Blue Jimmy, see you, buddy. I want
to get to the predictions in a second, but just
to continue on here with with the Tigers at how
we all feel about this team. Look, nobody believed in
this team last year, and I'm not sure baseball truly
believes in them this year. Trek Scouble had some words

(19:28):
to the city of Detroit on the eve of the
season beginning.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
Let's play that for you.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Now, this is what the post and then this is
the video.

Speaker 13 (19:46):
Dear Detroit, even know I'm from a small town in Arizona.
We have a lot more in common than you might think.
As I've learned more about our city, it's clear that
Detroit has faced its fair share of adversity, which is
at times put its future in question.

Speaker 8 (20:00):
For me, I only had one offer to play.

Speaker 13 (20:02):
Division in baseball, some pretty difficult injuries and other setbacks
that made my future feel uncertain. But this city is
resilient and this team is resilient. The adversity we face
makes the eventual greatness even more rewarding.

Speaker 14 (20:18):
Stop a city that doesn't care about the odds as
a baseball team.

Speaker 13 (20:28):
To match from a point two percent chance of making
the postseason to hosting playoff games at co America Park.
From a ninth round pick to unanimous Cy Young winner,
from a city in crisis to one of the greatest
renaissance stories in America. We're all overcoming the odds. You
believe in us, and we all believe in you. Detroit

(20:50):
is a sports town and it's slept on city. You
don't understand this place for the people in it unless
you've been here. The grit and the grind, the hustle
and the attitude, culture and authenticity, but also a community
where neighbors take care of each other and lift each
other up. I felt it more than ever at the
end of last season. The way you all showed up
and created an electric atmosphere made me feel so proud

(21:12):
to be part of this community. It's a new era
of Tiger's Baseball and we're building something different. A new
standard has been set and we're about to clock in
like the blue collar people of this city. So say,
what do you want about us? About Detroit? We have
unfinished business, so let's run it back.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
How do you not love this guy? I mean, and
there's the right How do you not love this guy.
But you know, you hope and we do not expect,
but we hope that Trek Schuebel is a Tiger for
his entire career, something that was not able to be
realized with Justin Verlander. But this guy, it is very
rare that you get that, you get we don't need

(22:04):
that anymore. Pete, thanks, it's fine. It's very rare that
you get a second chance at a similar type player,
like who's the next Miguel Cabrera on the team? Who's
the next Isaiah? It took thirty years before you got
another Isaiah Thomas. Who is the next Steve Eiserman? You're
still waiting for that. You got another Justin Verlander. You know,

(22:29):
when you think about great athletes in the history of Detroit,
Justin Verlanders on that list. You were able to find
another one. It took you thirty years to find the
next Isaiah Thomas. It took you. It's you still don't
have the next Steve Eiserman. You don't know that guy
is not here. You've replaced Justin Verlander with Trek Skuebel.

(22:54):
How can you not keep him? And now that's another
story we could talk about another day, but it just
goes to show you when you see videos like that,
what a player means to a city and what a
city means to a player. You know, this is a
guy that got one Division I scholarship out of high school.
You think of somebody that is self made, right, I

(23:15):
mean he wasn't this naturally talented kid that had twenty
thousand scholarships to all the great baseball schools in the country.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
And the first round pick and this, that and the
other play at Seattle. Yeah, played at Seattle to you,
and with a ninth round pick.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Those how many ninth round picks ever make it to
the major leagues, let alone become great. So just one
of those guys that you want to rally around and
you hope he's a Tiger.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
For a long time. That's off to find him, Yeah,
no doubt.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
There are two questions. The question is was this from
Terry's scoop or was this from the Detroit Tigers organization.
If this is from the Detroit Tigers organization and he
just read it, Nick cool, I'm excited for the season.
I think this is trying to get them to get
the fans to buy into the possibility of Terry's school
being here for a long time. So you know what,
I love Terry School. I think he's the best picture
in the game. I'm excited for this season. But if

(24:06):
this comes from terry'skugl, then I'm really excited because this
means that the very fabric that he witnessed last year
as he won Sion Young unanimously, he believed in and
that's the city and that's this grit and that's what
it means. And that means he's happy. He's happy that
Alaviva took a chance on him, coming from the small situation,
coming from that small school, which means, shoot, he's cool

(24:27):
with it.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
He's cool.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
You know what, I want to be in Detroit, whatever
it takes, that means the price has to go lower,
or whatever that means. I want to be in Detroit.
So whoever wrote it, that's where I'm at with it.

Speaker 7 (24:37):
Listen, man, once you come to Michigan, it's not like
a destination for people. Oh you're going to Michigan. Oh
you're going to Detroit. But once you get here, and
I've been here thirty two years now, I wouldn't go
back to New Jersey to lift.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
This is my home.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
This is I'm happy that my daughters will be calling
this their home, my wife, the family that I made here.
Once you come here, you can't help but fall in love.
Your teams are all within two city blocks of each other.
They're all on the upswing now, they've all had championships,

(25:14):
they've all had great times, except the lines.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
Recently.

Speaker 7 (25:18):
Okay, but it's such a great renaissance city. As he said,
you go downtown, it is all new, man, it is
all new. I got friends that are still afraid to
go to Detroit, and I laugh at them. I just
staying the sticks man, don't even bother coming down here.
You know they're looking for parking. Where we got to park?
Oh my god, that sounds like me. I'm just saying,

(25:42):
you have no idea until you get here. So here
we are. We don't get wildfires, Knockwood. We don't get
hurricanes Knockwood. Sure we get a lousy winner. And it's
not even that bad lately. It's really not our spring
and summer pretty good. Spring rains a lot, but summer
is real. Nice man, It's a great freaking state. So

(26:03):
Tarrek Scoobl's here. Where the hell else you want to go?
You're here. You see how the Tiger fans gave you
back to you once the Tigers gave them something the
root for. They packed that park, They packed it. They
were wild. Great home field advantage, phenomenal. You don't get

(26:24):
many homefield advantages like Ford Field, like Comerica Park, like
the Old Joe. Hopefully Little Caesars will be that eventually.
The Palace was outstanding again. Hopefully Little Caesar's will get
its time. But once you're here, you're here, man, there's
no way that he should leave. The Tigers were going

(26:44):
to pay numb nuts, Alex Bregman. Take that money, add
a couple of twenty thirty million on top of it,
and pay this kid. Pay this kid, and get it
over with this year. You're not signing anyone. You already heard.
We had Lynn Henning the other day. He said, we're
bringing guys up from the minor leagues. It's gonna be

(27:05):
like a trade. Scott Harris said it too, not going outside.
I got guys coming up. They got the best miners
in baseball. First time we were ever able to say that.
So why the hell would you want to leave this team?
Just pay the guy. Tell Scott Boris, let's let's get
this done and let Tarrek Scoogle tell Scott Borris, you
know what, I want to stay in Detroit. Let's see

(27:27):
how high they'll go. But if they can't break the
bank like the Dodgers, the Mets and the Yankees, get
me close and I'll stay here. That's what I want
to hear.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Just paying the Devil's advocate mats, you know, and I'm
not trying to be a you know, poop poo type
guy playing Devil's advocate for Terry Scoogle. If he's just
looking at what the Tigers been over the last ten years,
since you know, the days of old, the days they
were great and Mike Illege and Miggie and all that.
If he looks at what have they been recently, Who's
Scott gonna be, Who's Chris gonna be? If you're unsure

(27:57):
and you're looking at the team like we're looking at
the team, it's like it's going to be interesting this
year because if they don't pay him early, if the
Tigers infield looks like what we think it looks like,
if they have the issues PARKA metals sixty days and
they have the issues that potentially we think they can have.
Maybe you don't want to stay here.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
We'll see. Guys.

Speaker 3 (28:16):

He yes, you hear about it. ESPN might be backtracking
now on baseball. Yeah, they've talked to Baseball and said
that maybe we can work something out right. And you know,
I hope they do because I always loved the old
way of them covered games. I hated what they did
to Sunday Night Baseball. I don't think Carl Rabits is

(33:18):
your play by play guy. You got Joe Buck sitting
in the bullpen. I mean, come on, man, But to
have a ESPN, you know what a game is. I
don't want to be searching around all the time where
the freaking games are. But I'll take it. I'll take
it no matter where it is. But today our game
is on ESPN to no Tigers and Dodgers all day.

We just needed a winner to give people reason to cheer,
no doubt about that. All Right, here we are, guys,
it is prediction time for Major League Baseball. Gave some
predictions today.

Speaker 7 (33:54):
What we did.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
What I did is I gave a record and bold
prediction and American League champion.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
So here we go.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
This is my prediction for the Detroit Tigers in twenty
twenty five. There it is, Tigers. We'll finish with a
record of eighty seven and seventy five. I just can't
get him in the ninety games. I just can't get
him in the ninety I don't believe the lineup is
strong enough. Projected finish your second in the American League Centric.

(34:28):
Give me a little music here, Ricky, let's jazz it
up a little bit. Maybe a little faster music.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
How about that?

Speaker 7 (34:37):
Well?

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Projected finish second in the AL Central. I do have
them as a wild card. But my bold prediction there
up on the screen, you ready, Hobby Bias will hit
twenty home runs. Oh my, Maybe he is the guy
in the lineup that can provide a little bit of
a punch for the Detroit Tigers this year. Hobby bayas

(34:59):
twent runs. That is my bold prediction for twenty twenty five.

Speaker 7 (35:03):
That is pretty bold. Yeah, that is pretty bold.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
I like it.

Speaker 7 (35:07):
I hope you're right, man. I got him at eighty
six wins, so I was only a one one win
behind you. And my prediction is Spencer Torkolsen is gonna
hit thirty home runs. Account That's what I really believe.
I truly believe that you will see the torque of
the first year when he was here with the Tigers
fighting for Rookie of the Year honors. Who knows, maybe

(35:28):
he could punch out of two hundreds to sixty batting
average to boot. But I like tork for thirty home runs.
I like the Tigers for eighty five to eighty six wins. Obviously,
they got a tread water here coming up here in
April in May before they get hopefully Parker Meadows comes back.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I did the same with the red with excuse me,
with the Detroit Pistons before the season, I said, you
know what I'm gonna pull with the Chiger, and I
think they will go over twenty five and a half wins.
Anson got me to get to thirty, you know, and
look at how they paid off for them. I think
what we keep failing to realize is how good the
coach is. The excuse me and aj Hinch A J.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Hinch was.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
We saw what he did for the Houston Astros, and
we've seen what he's done so far here as the
Detroit Tiger. So I'm gonna go eighty nine wins and
it is solely based off of I think the younger
players will get better this year, and I.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Think A J.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Hinch being being the commander in chief. Look at eighty
nine wins. Now, as far as crazy predictions, you said
Tork back to thirty like two years ago, I'm gonna
say Hobby byas I'm gonna say, Hobby Bias will hit
three hundred.

Speaker 6 (36:32):
That's one hundred more than he hits.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
First of all, it's crazy predictions, right, it's a bold predictions.
Hobby Baya's hits three, that.

Speaker 7 (36:37):
Is, he hits he hits that.

Speaker 6 (36:40):
Man, I gotta throw a parade as.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Three hundred and then the Tigers I like second in al.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
James Miller says, Ron, your bold prediction awful. Elmago is
trash a D's four one one Hobby byas comeback Player
of the Year. Crazy Clown says, ninety and seventy two
d Torque. I'm not sure Hobby buyers will actually touch
a baseball with the bat twenty times all season? Where
else eighties injured exactly? Hold up burn says, if Hobby

(37:13):
hits twenty homers, we're getting ninety wins. There's probably very
little doubt about that. Torque has an extremely long leash.
Who else is gonna play? Half the team is injured
for the next month plus, so those I do have
the American League champion.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
Oh you got it? We got those things, do we?

Speaker 15 (37:29):
I don't know what?

Speaker 6 (37:30):
Yeah, yes, my American League champion. Oh you got your
whole divisions?

Speaker 15 (37:36):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
My American League East champion is Baltimore. The Royals win
the Central. The ALE West champion is the Seattle Mariners
by three wild cards, Detroit, Boston and Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
Again.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
I have three teams from the ALE Central Division again
making it to the postseason. I have the Yankees not
making it to the postseason. I just don't think they
have the pitch and they don't have the lineup that
they had last year. Uh, And I have the American
League champions as Alex Bregman in the Boston Red Sox
making it to the World Series to face the Dodgers

(38:12):
as always puke. Yeah, but I've got Boston. I've got
Boston winning the American League this year. Man, what do
you think?

Speaker 6 (38:19):
What do you think of my predictions so far?

Speaker 7 (38:21):
Well?

Speaker 3 (38:22):
I like I like the teams.

Speaker 7 (38:23):
You don't have the Yankees in which I think is crazy,
but you know, you're a title to your opinion. I mean,
they lost Soto, but they added three other bats and
they've got some pitching. Yeah, they lost their best pitcher,
and you had a down Gien Carlos Stanton and they're
down there.

Speaker 6 (38:37):
Stanton Soto out, Yeah, Cole out.

Speaker 7 (38:39):
I know, big loss, but don't remember. Just remember that's
a team that was really really close to getting within
a game of that Dodgers in the World Series last year.

Speaker 6 (38:50):
I still believe they have the cohesive, but.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
That's not the team that will be playing. Yeah, I
understand that's not the same team though.

Speaker 6 (38:57):
That's okay.

Speaker 7 (38:58):
They have other players. They added three players instead of Soto,
so we'll see how those three players do. I like
Cody Tigers would have gotten him, it would have been phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (39:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
I don't know if the if the if the Yankees
are gonna do it. I was just saying, like three
of the players you said they got their last year,
three of those players aren't playing.

Speaker 15 (39:18):
That's all I was.

Speaker 7 (39:19):
They're gonna make some trades too, so I'll throw mine
up here now. Okay, hang on AL East Yankees. They're
gonna win that division Al Central. It's gonna go to
the Cleveland three different division champions. AO West is going
to the Rangers. The Rangers are coming back the world
champs from a couple of years ago. They had a

(39:40):
down year ton of injuries. They get healthy this year.
I believe they repeat as AL West champs. The wild Cards,
the Tigers, the both Sucks, and the Mariners, and I
got the Yankees representing the AL again in the World Series.
I believe they come back. They haven't won since O nine.
They're gonna win. I'm telling you, guys, I got a

(40:01):
hunch on this team. I didn't like him last year,
and I know they Los Soto. I like what they
added this year. They're gonna make trades, I promise you,
and they're gonna get ready and they're gonna win that division.

Speaker 6 (40:12):
They're gonna win the American League if.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
They If your prediction is right, Maz, I think Baltimore
is right there too. So that would mean one team
in the AL Central probably getting in one team the
division champs. Last year would be the case last year
with three, I've got three again this year. But that
would mean if the Yankees in Boston really come to

(40:34):
Fruich here, because I still like.

Speaker 6 (40:35):
Baltimore and I got Baltimore on the outside.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
Look you do not have Baltimore, and then, uh, you know,
I think Seattle is a team this year is very good.
They are so good. They loaded with and if you're
right about Texas, you know that's.

Speaker 6 (40:49):
Take up the gram is going for the cy Young
this year. That's right. Battle it out with with our guy,
Derek Scoob.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Five dollars Dante one five one. Tigers will go ninety
two and seventy finished first in the AL Central. Bold prediction.
Torque and Green will both hit twenty five plus homers.
Tigers will be in the ALE Final playoffs. American League.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
I'm gonna take it, Dante.

Speaker 7 (41:11):
I like it. I like it.

Speaker 20 (41:12):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
I'm gonna say Rangers, Socks, Guardians, wild Card, Tigers Orioles case.
And then I got the Rangers winning it all?

Speaker 6 (41:21):
Rangers winning it all?

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Who do you have winning the Central?

Speaker 6 (41:25):
Guardians Guardians?

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Cleveland's a team that is, how do you put up?

Speaker 6 (41:29):
They don't die?

Speaker 7 (41:30):
I know they don't die. I know they have a
thirty eight year old starting first basement in Carlos Sancha.
And you know there's a guy that was on the
he was on the scrap heap. They bring him in
because they let Josh Naylor walk over to Arizona. So
they put him in and Carlos Santana. We'll see what
he can do at first base. That's a wild card

(41:50):
over there.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
I see. It's interesting, man, it's really good. So, uh
there's that guys. We go baseball tonight. It starts curious
to see what happens with the baseball rights. But nonetheless
I digress. And just by the way, just quick weather thing.
So the season opens today. Would you have taken a
day like this if it opened at home? Hell? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Right?

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Five and cloudy white on like.

Speaker 6 (42:18):
Derek next Friday, Derek said today snowstorm.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
No, he said the models look like mid fifties and
partly cloudy. I'll take it. I'll take ye, all right,
I'll take it now on the weather, on the weather.
You know, the iPhone has like the weather app or whatever.
Ye for Friday, it has fifty seven and cloudy the

(42:47):
Fox to Weather app. Even though that's essentially what Derek
Kevra said too, he said mid fifties and cloudy. So
I would take that's essentially a repeat of today that
you're getting.

Speaker 7 (43:00):
Right, Okay, you know, I'll take it. As long as
the sun could peek out a little bit. I think
it makes it up, makes up for it.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
They gotta show me because I tell you like this,
I know two days every year are gonna be messed
up with the Halloween and Detroit and Opening Day, and
both days suck, both of those days every year. So
spoking like a spider man in a coat.

Speaker 6 (43:22):
Alright, guys, here we go, spider Man off it.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
We are gonna do a little what.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
Rather would you rather?

Speaker 6 (43:33):
We're gonna go around a little bit.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
Everybody participates here, all five of us will participate.

Speaker 8 (43:40):
Sounds good.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
And we're gonna start with the NFL. Okay, all right,
Brelan edwards that come to you, and we'll go around
the word world. Would you rather the Lions take a
defensive end in the first round or take the best
player available? Would you rather a defensive end or best

(44:05):
player available? No matter which position?

Speaker 4 (44:07):
That player play defensive end? And to me it's not close.
I think I take a defensive end because you have
to make sure that that side of the ball gets better.
You talk about the guys banged up for that defensive
line for the Lions. The lead McNeil DJ reader also
talking about your big guy eight hundred. I think it's
important to get a defensive end in his draft in
the first round. This is a heavily stacked class as

(44:27):
it relates to the defensive end and interior D line.
I'd say they take a defensive end. I don't need
an offensive lineman at the first overall pick, I mean
the first round pick. I don't need a wide receiver.
I don't need a D be a knee a D
line guy.

Speaker 7 (44:39):
I second that you've got to take defense matter right.
I think I would take defense with every single pick
that I have. Maybe I'll buy a Christian mahoggitty late
in the rounds, late in the draft. I'm not touching safeties.
I'm not touching cornerbacks. I'm not doing that. Maybe a linebacker,
offensive lineman a little bit later in a draft. Defensive end,
defense line.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
All day long, Ricky, would you would you rather defensive
end or best player available?

Speaker 21 (45:08):
Add me to that list of defensive end, because that's
what we all been asking for, that's what we all want,
that's what we all feel as though we need, and
we should listen to the fans think we know what
we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
The other thing that I say is this defensive end
is just because if you take any other position, and
that means you don't see it as I see it. Look,
I don't have to be perfect. I'm wrong. I make
a lot of the mistakes, but I know one thing
to line need, and it is the defensive end. It
is defensive line that is the most important. If they
didn't go for a defensive line or defensive end, what
the hell are you looking at? Then I would be worried.
So that's why I want defensive end or defensive lineman.

Speaker 10 (45:40):
Hee gotta be death man. You need depth defensive line
a line. I would definitely take the defensive line lineman
for depth.

Speaker 9 (45:48):
Because you gotta win championships with defense. Just that playing simple.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
Okay, I'm gonna go contrariot here. I'm gonna say take
the best player available, Okay, And I'll say take the
best player available, because if there is an offensive line
lineman there that is higher ranked than the defensive end
that you have, you've got to take him. Your identity
is offensive line, your offense, right, and you are losing

(46:14):
a lot of players. You're about to You're gonna lose
Graham Glasgow, You're gonna lose Frank rag Now, hell, Taylor
Decker didn't getting any any younger.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
If you can get a guy in the first.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Round that you can have an extra year of eligib
I'm not saying, if all things are equal, take alignment
over a defensive end. But if you have alignment graded
above a defensive end, I think you've got to take
the best player available. We'll see what happens, but I'll
be contraaring there. I want to give Jared Sayer, you

(46:49):
shout out ten dollars in the chat. Ryan glad your
back is for your daily GBSU update. Lady Lakers one
last night sixty eight to sixty one, will play Cal
State Domingas Hills for the Division two Women's be Ball
Championship tomorrow. Anchor up. Thanks Jaredy, Lakers appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (47:07):
Lakers absolutely, just on the flip side of what you said.
Your big thing is always now, not waiting for later. Correct.
I agree you're making free agency the moves you make
in the draft if you're drafting the guy in the
first round this year to put on the bench to wait,
aren't we trying to strike while the ironside related to
the Super Bowl? So you got an offensive lineman that
could potentially be a good offensive lineman next year, the

(47:27):
year after that, year after that. Meanwhile, there was a
defensive player that could have helped you this year that
could have made a difference this year. That's kind of
like my math on an offensive line and waiting versus
defensive guy that.

Speaker 6 (47:38):
You know, unless there and he could start right away.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
Oh well he won't be there when we pay.

Speaker 6 (47:43):
Yeah, he's not gonna be there yet.

Speaker 3 (47:45):
He's not going to be there either. Totally understand that approach,
no doubt, But you're right before all right, here we go, guys.
Next question, would you rather the Lions trade up or
trade picks for a player who wants to go first
mass Sure.

Speaker 6 (48:04):
First, I've said it.

Speaker 7 (48:06):
If Brad Holmes got a guy in his top fifteen
and he's sitting at twenty eight, and let's say the
Steelers come rolling around at twenty one, I'm trading up
to get the player I want. I'm not gonna trade
down or out to get a player. Now you mean
a player, meaning a free.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
Agent player off somebody's roster, like a trade. Yeah, we're
gonna sit, we're gonna get We're gonna give you, you know, first,
and yeah second for or whatever for X player.

Speaker 7 (48:33):
It depends on who the player is. But I'll play
it safe in this exercise. I'll say I want to
trade up and get the guy I want. That's a
kid coming out of college.

Speaker 4 (48:41):
Yeah right, trade up and not too far, trade up
for nothing I want to go. I want to be
contradering like Ryan and Money, but I just wouldn't trade
the picks for a player because I don't believe we
have good picks to offer for a player. I think
if you trade up, as long as you don't go
too far with you're venturing off too much of your

(49:01):
draft capital as well as your money I'm good with that.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
Man.

Speaker 4 (49:04):
Something in the wrong in the realms of fifteen fifteen thirteen. Yeah,
I'm good with that.

Speaker 6 (49:10):
Pete Spot.

Speaker 8 (49:11):
It very simple.

Speaker 9 (49:13):
F THEMB picks. We are here to win a super Bowl.
We are here to win a championship.

Speaker 10 (49:19):
I don't want to hear anything about maturing players from
here on out. I want the players that are going
to help you win. And that's the end of the story.
F them text Ricky Burns.

Speaker 21 (49:30):
I would like to say them pis I need to
know what player were trading for, so I would rather
go with the trade up on the draft.

Speaker 6 (49:36):
Man, it depends on what player do I want to
give off those picks.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
I just say, let's just for argument's sake, say you
could trade your first round pick for Tree Hendrickson.

Speaker 6 (49:45):
Okay, yeah, I would do that.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
That's the questions I'm talking it.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
I would.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
That's what I'm saying, trade up for a player this guy,
make your own trade.

Speaker 15 (50:04):
Case.

Speaker 6 (50:04):
Yes, you make your own trade. Good call, good call.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
Yeah, it's a right now. Yeah, I mean I'm trading
for the player. If there's an established player out there
on the trading block, I would absolutely trade that pick
because I just don't think there's like if you go
back to Aiden Hutchinson's rookie year, Okay, Aiden Hutchinson's rookie
year was not the productivity that Aiden Hutchinson in the

(50:29):
first half of year number three is so again, if
you're in a win now mentality, you need developed NFL talent.

Speaker 6 (50:38):
You don't need some rookie coming in there to help
you out.

Speaker 4 (50:41):
I mean, but Aiden still had ten and a half
sacks and four interceptions. You there, you go, give somebody
a ten and a half second give give the opposite
side of er.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
Nobody more critical of Aiden Hutchinson than you though that
first year.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
Very true, but you had Aiden Hutchinson. Ten and a
half sex goes a long way. He had a lot
of pressures. A lot of pressures go a long way
when your defensive I have other players as well. So
those ten a halfs as those three interceptions, I.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
Think I think it was four.

Speaker 6 (51:05):
If I'm getting a Pro Bowl guy at that on
that I'm trading the pick up.

Speaker 3 (51:09):
Yeah, fair enough, all right, guys, next question, all right,
I like these next these next couple. Okay, if you
were a Giants fan, New York Giants fan, would you
rather win nine games, and notice I do not define
here that could put you on the cusp of a
wild card or not, we don't know. Would you rather

(51:30):
win nine games and maybe make a wild card or
lose fourteen.

Speaker 6 (51:36):
Games and get the number one pick?

Speaker 15 (51:38):
Good?

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Think about these seasons. Mass is the resident Giants fan.
Would you rather win nine games with let Russ Cook
maybe make a wild card?

Speaker 6 (51:48):
See it sounds really nice? Or lose fourteen games?

Speaker 15 (51:52):
One?

Speaker 7 (51:52):
I wanted to lose fourteen games last year?

Speaker 6 (51:54):
Yeah, and we did. I want to lose fifteen games?
Do you want to do it again?

Speaker 7 (51:58):
But they beat the Colts on the last game and
made them the third pick. Of course I want to lose.
I want to lose, and I want the next Manning.
I want to lose to take over in New York
and that's Arch Banning. So I will take a two
win season this year with frickin Frack as my quarterbacks.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Right, Yeah, I would do the same. You know, Arch
Manning probably number one pick overall next year. His uncle
played there as well, won two Super Bowls and Eli Manning.
It just makes sense. I would much rather do that
than dance and do what potentially win nine games and
now I'm picking eleventh or ninth. It sucks like if
I'm the Giants, I don't care. It's too much going
on in New York anyway. Give me the number one

(52:35):
pick next year, give me the arch Man, make the
story complete, Riggy, I want to.

Speaker 8 (52:40):
I'll take the nine games for the wild card.

Speaker 4 (52:43):
I just maybe may maybe make a wildcard.

Speaker 8 (52:47):
Maybe make a wild card. I just I'd rather do that.

Speaker 21 (52:50):
Man, I don't know about having a rookie quarterback to
then build my team around.

Speaker 8 (52:53):
I just feel like that hasn't worked late.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
But then, at what point did you get it? What
point do you get your quarterback?

Speaker 21 (52:58):
I gotta worry about that later, but the Giants have
been worrying about that later for the last I get it.
I get it, I get it, But I'm still besides
Jayson Daniels, I haven't seen you be able to Well,
they haven't really built a team. They had that one season,
but I just don't see them being able to then,
you know, leverage their entire franchise on a rookie.

Speaker 9 (53:19):
Tell you what guys exact opposite position of the Lions here.

Speaker 10 (53:23):
I want to see a nice, good old fashioned NBA
throw away your season let's tank away.

Speaker 9 (53:28):
Let's get the pick. You got a deep quarterback draft
coming up next season.

Speaker 10 (53:31):
You actually have some very good offensive lineman draft picks
coming up next draft as well. I say, tank the season,
take the fourteen losses the NFL. If you do it correctly,
you should be winning every four years. This is like
a four year rotation. So let's start the four year
rotation of your number one.

Speaker 6 (53:49):
I got the answer.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
I hate throwing away seasons. Yeah, hate it, but you've
got to. I'd rather lose the fourteen games or more.
That way, you get a new coach and a new
general manager in New York. You'll get a quarterback, perhaps

(54:11):
Arch Manning, perhaps somebody else. You never know who is
going to come out of the scene this year. Maybe
Arch is the guy, maybe Arches and we don't know,
but you'll get the the top player. And how about
this for a kicker, here's the kicker this time? As
I would say, after u n C wins eight games
this year, how about Bill Belichick to the Giants to

(54:33):
get that organization back, to have a little bit of
a culture of winning, and to have Manning and Belichick
take over.

Speaker 6 (54:43):
In New York. What about that? It was the Bills.
Then he started, He started with Buffalo, then.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
He started with.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Giants.

Speaker 7 (54:52):
I love what I love what you're laying down. That
would be a dream scenario. But I would not let
him do anything with the track Bill. Belichick's not allowed
to draft. I would need a very good general matter
right to join it.

Speaker 6 (55:05):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (55:06):
There don't know what and there will be, but I
want him to coach my team and get him into
shape and get him ready to play real New York
Giant football back.

Speaker 6 (55:15):
From the eighties.

Speaker 9 (55:16):
There's your next start coach, Tommy pardon, there's your next
start coach.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
Oh my, that's right, she's your next general manager.

Speaker 6 (55:23):
To take a break.

Speaker 3 (55:24):

you rather. We've got some NFL questions, some Pistons, Red Wings,

Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Right, So anyway, good stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
We are going to continue on here withould you rather
Oh by the way, before we do, would you rather
make one thing?

Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
Did you see the the Urban Meyer thing going around?
I have no Urban Meyers. Tell a story.

Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
He's on some podcasts. He's telling the story of when
he was the coach at Bowling Green. They were like
nine and oh sixteenth in the country. He brought you up, No, no,
but he brought up a story that there was a
headhunter that called and said, I'm a coach. I'm representing
Michigan State University. Were on a head coaching search, and

(01:01:30):
he says, they said, are you interested. He's like, well, yeah,
of course, I've always been a huge fan of Michigan State.

Speaker 6 (01:01:35):
I am interested.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
They call him back, like relatively shortly thereafter, they said, no,
you're not on the list. We need a Tier one coach.

Speaker 6 (01:01:47):
That sounds that's Is that real? That's what he says.
That's what he says. I gotta find that sound. Oh,
I mean I can find it for you.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Here.

Speaker 7 (01:01:55):
It is right here.

Speaker 6 (01:01:56):
I got you chat. You know you gotta do it
because yeah, it's it's incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
So they turned him down, and since he brought in
Bobby Williams and then Johnnill Smith.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
I'm trying to think because I was so I was
with Urban Urban, I was called the mayor. I was
with Urban Meyer. He was at Bowling Green two thousand
and two thousand and two. So who was the coach?

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
Was it Bobby?

Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Was it John Smith?

Speaker 7 (01:02:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:02:29):
Who did Bobby Williams take over for?

Speaker 20 (01:02:31):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (01:02:32):
Yeah, yeah, Nick Saban.

Speaker 6 (01:02:34):
That's where I was mistaken.

Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
Didn't you win a bowl game that year? Yeah, Bobby,
that's why they kept him when he took over when
Saban both did he won the Bowl or something like that.

Speaker 6 (01:02:45):
Yeah, he won the Yeah, he won that game.

Speaker 7 (01:02:48):
Michigan would go into the I think Orange Bowl that year.
If I'm not saying that Brady's last year. That was
the David Carell game.

Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
The Orange was Alabama. That was that was Brady's last game.
Next year they played Auburn and then Yeah, but.

Speaker 7 (01:03:02):
I remember being in Miami won that Bobby Williams won
that game. You know, we were covering the Michigan Alabama game,
which was just amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
Two thousand one my freshman year, and they beat us
on the clock game.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
But they won.

Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
So you know that was like Bobby Williams like they
gotta win. It looked good. And then next year we
beat him forty nine and three, forty nine and zip
and then he got.

Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
Fired mass You'll never forget that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
The clock.

Speaker 6 (01:03:27):
They tell that story again. It's a great story. So
I'm working.

Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
I'm working at w j R with a flagship of Michigan.
Got Frank Beckaby, Jim Brands stat are in the booth
I'm there with them. Tony is on the audio and
Steve Courtney sidelines. So we all drive there together to
East Lansing. We watched the game. Of course, you know
what happened, and Frank with this they stopped the clock
to him. They stopped the clock with one second to go,

(01:03:55):
and of course they went on to win it criminal
and you know, it was awful. We pack up, we
go to the car to the WJR van. I'm gonna
drive and they get in the car there. They're despondent
as it gets and I just want to get home
and watch Game six of the World Series. It's the

(01:04:15):
Yankees trying to put the Arizona Diamondbacks away. It's a Saturday.
So I put the radio on and we start to
drive and they tell me shut that radio.

Speaker 6 (01:04:24):
Mass sh no one, we're not talking in this video.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
It was.

Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
It was the most dour ride.

Speaker 7 (01:04:35):
They were not They didn't say fing word the whole trip,
and I wasn't allowed to talk or say anything. I
just drove them to w j R, dropped them off,
got my car, ran home. By then, the Diamondbacks had
knocked Andy Pettitt out of the game. They lost that game.
And of course they lost game seven the following night,
because that was my that was my clock game experience.

Speaker 6 (01:04:58):
And I know Braila was on the sidelines. I think
he was punished that game.

Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
I just didn't blame.

Speaker 7 (01:05:05):
I don't think you were wearing the number one either were,
but that was.

Speaker 4 (01:05:07):
My freshman year. I had nothing to do with one.
I was wearing eighty. I just didn't play.

Speaker 6 (01:05:11):
Sorry you didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:05:13):
I do all the records. I just wasn't good enough
to play at that moment. But this is how I
look at the clock game. Lawyer was pissed at after
the game was over. He wouldn't talk. You know, he
got pissed at us. On the bus, he yelled at us.
Everybody always blames the clock. Yeah, we know Michigan State cheated.

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
It is what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:05:28):
But the problem is they shouldn't have been in that
position to even have be able to stop the clock.
We got two penalties, we had passing Apfrance on the defense,
We got twelve men on the field. They shouldn't even
have had a chance to catch that the pass. So
shoutut to T. J. Duckett. He made a hell of
a catch. No gloves caught it. But we we lost
beat ourselves.

Speaker 6 (01:05:47):
Hey Pete, good job. Man. Here here's this sound for you.

Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:05:50):
You got any Buddyan Meyer? Remember when you went the
Bullying Green your name was mentioned here.

Speaker 5 (01:05:56):
Oh dumb were we?

Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
You know?

Speaker 7 (01:05:57):
We didn't.

Speaker 11 (01:05:58):
I mean I don't know if we could have, but
I think at that time we maybe could have. But
so you brought that up.

Speaker 20 (01:06:03):
I was at Bowling Green, sitting at my desk. We
were undefeated, sixteenth in the country, and a headhunter called
me early on and said, I'm representing Michigan State. And
then he called me back and he said, would you
be interested? I've always loved Michigan State. And then he
called me back and he said, you're out of the search.

(01:06:23):
We want a Tier one coach. I remember hanging off
the phone and you talk about fired my ass up.
I said, so, oh I got you. You know I'm
not a tier I mean it was great motivation. I
don't know who the headhunter was, but I should thank him,
send him a thank you note for saying that, because
thatsed me.

Speaker 15 (01:06:43):
I was like, wait a minute, pale.

Speaker 6 (01:06:46):
About it.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Isn't that something?

Speaker 8 (01:06:49):
What if it was just a prank called somebody just
messed up too.

Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
You know a lot of these, a lot of a
lot of these, A lot of these athletic departments say
hire head coaching for I'm saying that so and so
is going to duct conduct the search firm tire because
your ward manual, you're not like I'm just telling ward
for instance, You're not calling people individually unless you know
they're interested, because you're not gonna deal with the embarrassment

(01:07:14):
of somebody saying no, I'm fine here too, right.

Speaker 6 (01:07:19):
Okay, I feel like it's it's the way they said.

Speaker 21 (01:07:21):
They said, oh no, we're just looking for a top
tier coach, Like I feel like they would say it
a different way, maybe a little more.

Speaker 4 (01:07:28):
The problem what happens is with these things is like nowadays,
with all these podcasts, all these interviews, like people just
get on here and start saying whatever. So now I
like question everything I hear because I know a lot
of these stories. I'm like, I know the story and
I know that's not true. Now this is I'm not
talking about this one in particular, but whenever I see people,
they get comfortable, they get on these couches, they get.

Speaker 7 (01:07:47):
The land back and sometimes underssary, tell can you imagine
Michigan State Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. It's a different
it's a different story game, it's a different, different thing.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
But at the same time, you know, urban Meyer probably
would have done the same thing Saban did maybe because
look he was a Noman, Like it was Bowling Green
and then mind you so, so he wasn't a quote
unquote tier one coach at the time. This isn't college
football twenty twenty five. This is college football two thousand

(01:08:24):
and two. So he didn't go from Bowling Green to Florida, right,
he went from Bowling Green to Utah. And it wasn't
Utah of twenty twenty five, but he put him on
the map. That's right, correct, That's what I'm saying. It
was like going to wherever. You know what I'm saying,
Like Utah now is recognized as a pretty damn good

(01:08:46):
program thanks to him.

Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
But he was undefeated my senior year. Yeah, he was
twelve and oho Al Smith.

Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
So he went didn't go from Bowling Green to Florida.

Speaker 7 (01:08:56):
I got to say it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
So the tier one coach he had to become that
she had to show one more step, you know what
I mean, one more step. So bowling Green Utah, then Florida. Hell,
Florida wasn't good enough for urban Meyer right to go
to Ohio State. So I don't know if this would
have been a Saban situation or if this is a

(01:09:17):
last job kind of situation. No disrespect to state. I'm
just saying, just look at urban Meyer's career, right, and
Ohio State wasn't even good good enough for him. He
had to go to the NFL.

Speaker 6 (01:09:29):
It's not like uh.

Speaker 7 (01:09:31):
I always asked this question and they never get a
straight answer. Why and how did they let Nick Saban go?
Why did he leave? The reason I always heard is
he was tired of playing second fiddle to Michigan. He
thought they would never get above Michigan. That's what I
always hear. But what is the real reason. That can't

(01:09:52):
be the reason. If you have the confidence that a
Nick Saban has, why the hell what do you have
left that team?

Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
Because it's a feeling of inferiority, And maybe he felt
that when he was on campus, maybe he felt like
his regent. So I think they call him there they're bored.
Maybe he felt like they're bored their sponsors, their fans,
their donors. Maybe they were scared of Michigan. Maybe they
were scared to go big time. He didn't feel like
he was supported, like he didn't feel like the things
that he did at LSU, the things that he would
come to do with Alabama, he didn't believe that they

(01:10:21):
were doable. And I guess he got tired of fighting
with Michigan back and forth with recruits in state. You'll
fight with Ohio State, who's not too far Notre Damen, etcetera, etcetera.
I think he really got tired, and I think he
really believed that he wanted to go somewhere where it
was just him, and he did.

Speaker 6 (01:10:36):
But LSU did roll out the carpet for him.

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
Right, yeah, they did.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
But he he was the reason why he went to Miami,
the reason why he left LSU. He won a national championship.
He did what he wanted to do. He was supposed
to get what's name as a quarterback, supposed to get
Drew Brees, supposed to get Breeze his quarterback. So he's
just he's a conqueror. Yeah, he's a conqueror. You know,
he want to conquer. He left Michigan State, went to LSU,
he won national championship. That's conquering of sorts. He goes

(01:11:01):
to the NFL. If Drew Brees would have been his quarterback,
he believes he could have conquered the NFL. That didn't work,
went back to college. Now he's all time Brisco.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
And again, it's just it's no different from a player
leaving a cozy situation to go to greener past years.

Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
Maybe and make more money. It's some other team.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
No different from a newscaster or a sportscaster going from
you know, Detroit to New York or San Diego to
LA or something whatever, you know.

Speaker 7 (01:11:29):
I mean, there were a few sports guys I left here,
went to New York, came back, no.

Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
Doubt, a pretty smile of it is one of them.
Vanneral Wright is another one.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Da who tied Davis the former Lion, the linebacker.

Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
What do you do?

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
He went to New York and came back.

Speaker 6 (01:11:49):
But nonetheless like it's you know, it's like a joy,
didn't Eli?

Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Eli went? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:11:53):
I mean it's a career.

Speaker 10 (01:11:54):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Anybody maybe you got a sales job somewhere like, yeah,
you know, I get to take them more money. All right, guys,
let's continue on with it. Would you rather shall thank you.
Thank you, Pete.

Speaker 6 (01:12:06):
Okay, here we go. Would you rather continuation of would
you rather, sir?

Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
If you were a Vikings fan, would you rather go
with JJ or sign Aaron Rodgers, which apparently is back
in the news. Yeah, from the Minnesota Vikings organization, I'll
go go ahead, Pete, all right, your first JJ bab
Let's go with JJ.

Speaker 9 (01:12:31):
I'm sick of Aaron Rodgers. I'm sick of going with
the old bones.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
I get it.

Speaker 19 (01:12:34):
He's got a great.

Speaker 10 (01:12:36):
Freaking QB mind, he knows the game. He's probably one
of the top ten qbs right now in the modern
day era of all time.

Speaker 9 (01:12:43):
But I'm gonna have to go with JJ.

Speaker 10 (01:12:44):
Now it's time to see what if you invested in
JJ with that high of a draft pick, It's time
for you to see what he can provide.

Speaker 6 (01:12:52):
I want to put this up for you, Pete.

Speaker 7 (01:12:53):
From around the NFL session, buddy, the Vikings general manager
Adolfo Menza, Okay, hang up up, because.

Speaker 6 (01:13:01):
You asked about JJ.

Speaker 7 (01:13:03):
JJ's your quarterback, right, so they asked him, is JJ
your number one quarterback?

Speaker 6 (01:13:07):
What do they say? The out that's the outcome we're
headed towards.

Speaker 7 (01:13:10):
What does that mean that you know what that means.
They're waiting for Aaron Rodgers still. He probably has to
come down on his price to sign there. I'm not
giving up on him, and he is cropping all over
Pittsburgh still.

Speaker 6 (01:13:25):
And there's another.

Speaker 7 (01:13:26):
Word, Pete go to another one from NFL how Aaron
Rodgers supposedly we'll take the year off if he doesn't
get what he wants, but not retire, but not retired.
I did not see I'll take a year off and
then think about it. So he's not ready to he's

(01:13:47):
not retiring.

Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
I think it's a bad sign for the Steelers that
he was in your building and didn't sign.

Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
A Speaking of that, did you see Cam Hayward. Cam
Hayward had another interview today on his podcast. He did
he came off of his stands. Remember how hard as
he was understands. Originally it was like, yo, like I'm
not doing on a darkness retreat, like I ain't the
one like you come here you want to be a stealer,
You're still it won't need all that. But when you
did his interview today or his podcast, it was more

(01:14:16):
so like, look, you know I was being told to
come here, so look, you know maybe I'm not the
one to push him over the time, but you know,
this could be a great.

Speaker 11 (01:14:22):
Place for Aaron.

Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
He has to figure it out. I was like, oh, yeah, yeah,
that's because that's because the franchise they went to him
and said, look, we want him to be our quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Here's what he said on Good Morning Football. It was misconstrued.
I was asked a question, would you go to the
lengths of going to the Darkness Retreat to recruit Aaron Rodgers?
I said, I'm not doing that. The pitch is if
you want to be a Steeler, be a Steeler. That's
all it was.

Speaker 15 (01:14:45):
I wasn't.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
It wasn't that I don't like Aaron Rodgers or I'm
against it. When I look at our team right now,
it would be really cool to have a guy like
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (01:14:54):
Yeah yeah, talk to camera.

Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
With him.

Speaker 6 (01:15:00):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 7 (01:15:00):
So, the question to me, right, if I want a
Viking fan, am I going with JJ or am I
waiting on Anon Rodgers. I'm waiting on Anon Rodgers because
JJ ain't going anywhere. I'm not naming him first. I'm
just gonna say, let's see how the spring plays out.
And I'm telling you when the draft's over. That's when
Aaron Rodgers signing somewhere.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
One of the greatest things about the Detroit Lions right
now is culture. It has an unbreakable culture, and I
think JJ McCarthy offers that part of it in Minnesota.
I don't know if you. I would not mortgage that

(01:15:42):
possibility to ruin my franchise. And there is a possibility
that it could be ruined with Aaron Rodgers ruined, there's
a possibility that it could.

Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
Be great as well.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
But JJ McCarthy provides the Minnesota Vikings with the best
possible option. I believe he's that damn good.

Speaker 9 (01:16:06):
Give me j J of course, dude, I just thought
of a really good counter question.

Speaker 10 (01:16:13):
Would you rather start with if you don't have Jared,
you don't have the quarterback on your team, you have
a really good team.

Speaker 9 (01:16:17):
Would you rather start Caleb Williams or JJ McCurry J Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
One hundred percent, gotcha?

Speaker 3 (01:16:23):
And twice on Sunday, Don I was curious anybody else
weighing in here, put back on?

Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
What excuse me if you put that quoteback up? Diffrom
Aaron Rodgers, Oh yeah, hang on, buddy, Now go ahead,
put that back up. You got it, my friend, people
around the NFL fiel that Aaron Rodgers may likely take
the twenty twenty five season. Okay, you can drive it.
And this is the guy that you want to bring
into your building, right, this is the energy that you

(01:16:51):
want to bring into your building. At the end of
the day, I've seen enough. I've saw how it ended
in Green Bay. I saw what the jet situation was.
I saw how they were begging him to come back
to Floring Partners where they practice that when he was
over in Europe, so that they can get their team
together so that they can walk into the twenty twenty
four season the right way. Meanwhile, he just came off
of Achilles surgery, Achilles injury, just came off of that.

(01:17:12):
So you know who the guy is. I just wouldn't
bring that energy. I think the Vikings have something really
good going on with their head coach, with their players,
et cetera. Jaj McCarthy is a winner. If Kyle Shanahan
can get that out of Rock Party with that team,
I damn sure believe Kevin O'Connell can pull that out
of Jaz McCarthy with that team.

Speaker 7 (01:17:29):
You want to believe something still I still believe that
the forty nine ers have a chance to sign aving.

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
I'm not sure you do.

Speaker 7 (01:17:36):
I really don't you do, I really don't. I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:17:40):
It's the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
I don't think like anything is impossible.

Speaker 6 (01:17:46):
This guy's like Christmas.

Speaker 7 (01:17:47):
Really, he's Christmas because every day it's a different prize.

Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
I could open, Thank God, March. We're trying to finish.
If I see Aaron Rodgers story, I'm like, I mean, yeah,
I don't hate something.

Speaker 6 (01:17:58):
I don't care.

Speaker 7 (01:17:59):
Thank you, Aaron.

Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
I enjoy It's a soul entertainment, after all, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Okay, now these three questions, these next three are the
winning questions.

Speaker 6 (01:18:08):
Okay, these are huh the PS devorants?

Speaker 15 (01:18:12):
What's that?

Speaker 7 (01:18:15):
You never heard of? The PS?

Speaker 6 (01:18:17):
Okay, it's like the top of the top.

Speaker 11 (01:18:23):
This is it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
This is like the best part of the grand finale
of Alright, NFL draft is out. Everybody expects the Titans
to take cam Ward. If you're a Titans fan, would
you draft cam Ward or trade out for a Hall?
You could make up whatever your whatever Hall means to you.
Three first round picks, two first round picks, two seconds.

(01:18:47):
Whatever you consider a Hall draft cam Ward or Hall.
What say you, Ricky?

Speaker 8 (01:18:55):
Your first step here, I'm going straight to the drafting
cam Ward.

Speaker 21 (01:18:57):
I'm just gonna take the safe bet because I'm the Titans,
and I'm just gonna go straight to the straight to
the first round pick.

Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
Real, I'm taking the Hall. I don't trust cam Ward.
I don't trust I just don't trust cam Ward. I
don't trust his attitude, don't trust his energy. I don't
trust the things that I've seen on the field. I
don't think he's a quarterback like that. You tell me
I can get a haul. I watched what the hall
look like when the Carolina Panthers traded with the Chicago Bears.
Give me the Hall.

Speaker 7 (01:19:23):
I'm all in on the Hall, absolutely. I mean, this
kid is not a sure bet. He's not a sure
fire bet.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
People gotta stop just not to cut you up, man.
Stop just looking at the stats. Stats don't always tell
the story. You want to play a stack game, don't
play the stack game. See what the player is.

Speaker 7 (01:19:39):
That lie trade down, Get up Dual Carter or maybe
even Travis Hunter. Get the hell out of that number
one spot. It's it's a bad spot, unless unless it's
a slam dunk.

Speaker 9 (01:19:48):
There do you guys like the Blues Brothers. Yeah, John Belushi,
give me your children, sell them to me.

Speaker 10 (01:19:55):
Sell me your children. Give me your draft picks. Mike Dick,
get him on the phone, tell me your drafts. You
haul pull back to U, haul up, get as many
draft picks as possible, and let's build another again, the
four year window. Let's build a nice, beautiful core.

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
Hate to agree on everything, but I'm I'm a haul guy, and.

Speaker 6 (01:20:15):
I'll tell you why I'm a Hall.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Look, I'm not gonna pretend like I watched every Miami
game that was played this year, but I did watch
enough Miami games.

Speaker 7 (01:20:22):
One game in.

Speaker 6 (01:20:23):
Particular was a game at Louisville, and he played great.
He threw up stats that you wouldn't believe.

Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
But also as part of this game, he had about
fifteen seconds in the pocket where he's standing there doing nothing.
He's able to stand in just fifteen seconds. Go back
and watch that. You watch a couple of highlights of
that game. He has so much time. I could have well,

(01:20:53):
just whatever, I've been making an analogy that I could
have thrown something. That's how much time he had. You
don't get that in the NFL. You have to read
and react and make precise throws. Not saying he can't
do that, but a lot of this was due to
having all of this time back there for Miami. And
he's elusive. He's very elusive. But I'm taking the hall

(01:21:16):
either or.

Speaker 4 (01:21:17):
Look, don't trust ACC quarterbacks.

Speaker 15 (01:21:21):
Don't do it.

Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
There are a couple outliers. They are always an outliars.
Sean Watson is an outlier. Lamar Jackson is an outlier.
If you want to throw Jameis Winston in there, you
can throw Jameis Winston is an outlier. Every other ACC
they just do not get it done. They told me
Kenny Pickett was gonna be a great quarterback, don't worry.
All Way told me miss Trubisky was going to be
a great, great quarterback. Hill Trevor Lawrence was drafting number

(01:21:42):
one overall. Still waiting to see what he's gonna be.
ACC conference football. It ain't like that Clempton had that
one run. It's a nice run, nice four or five
year run. ACC football isn't like that he's the best
quarterback in the AEC. What does that even mean?

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
All right, guys, you ready, let's go?

Speaker 15 (01:21:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:22:00):
Would you rather?

Speaker 6 (01:22:01):
I'm going to ask you to pick your children here.

Speaker 11 (01:22:04):
Oh man, so your voice?

Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
Would you rather the Pistons win a playoff series or
the Red Wings win a playoff series?

Speaker 6 (01:22:15):
Start? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Go ahead, math?

Speaker 6 (01:22:17):
What did I watch last night?

Speaker 7 (01:22:18):
I told you I watched the unrivaled on d Max
Anniversary two hours of glory. There's the picture again. If
you could go to.

Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
All there it is.

Speaker 7 (01:22:32):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (01:22:33):
Was that a great run? Phenomenal run?

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Adam footback there? I know at this belief kid, he
was at that far.

Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
He was in disbelieved.

Speaker 7 (01:22:41):
Man, I was so happy. I didn't go to bed
the after one o'clock in the morning. I got stuck
on this thing. But what was the question? Ryston?

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
Rather the Pistons win a playoff series or the Red
Wings win a playoff?

Speaker 6 (01:22:54):
He said?

Speaker 7 (01:22:54):
When I watched last night? Give me the Pistons, Wow,
because I love this freaking team. I've told you that
I am all in on the Detroit Pistons, all in.
I love them, and I believe they will win a
playoff series this year. I could win a championship. I
think they can win a series. And I'll be there

(01:23:15):
tomorrow as well. Break can't wait.

Speaker 4 (01:23:19):
Yeah, for me, it's the Pistons, but it's different. I
think the rail Wings are the rail Wings. They're gonna
have the fan base, They're gonna have the people that
show up when they're fighting getting the playoffs, although they
shouldn't be.

Speaker 11 (01:23:27):
Fighting like that.

Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
In year six.

Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
They have Stevie White, they have all the frames that
used to be on the rail Wings now working the
front office work there. Rail Wings are fine. It's the Pistons.
I like the momentum they have now. I like the story.
If they win a playoff game or win a playoff
series this year, you know what that does next season
in terms of putting butts in those seats consistently, and
what that does to the national appeal of the Detroit Pistons.

(01:23:50):
People like Shaq don't be talking.

Speaker 15 (01:23:52):
About own you want them. I don't know they're good.

Speaker 4 (01:23:54):
I don't watch them like So give me the Detroit
Pistons because I like the momentum. They're buillion red Wings
will always be Unfortunately.

Speaker 21 (01:24:01):
Pistons for me, it wasn't n til I worked here
that I realized that Pistons were hated in the NBA
like that. I didn't really realize that. So I definitely
want to say and I love how this team is constructed. K.
Everybody's playing so good man, give me the Pistons playoff win.

Speaker 8 (01:24:15):
I'll tell you what, Ryan, you weren't here yesterday.

Speaker 10 (01:24:17):
As you know, the city of Detroit announced that in
two thousand and seven, the NCAA Final Four is coming.

Speaker 9 (01:24:22):
So I'm going to tie this in with the Pistons.

Speaker 10 (01:24:24):
If the Pistons win the playoff series this season, and
I think they will, that puts them two years away
from I think an NBA title run. And in two
thousand and seven, if there's a home game at the
Piston and the Pistons are at home and the Final
Four is going on, let's have a wonderful spring in
two thousand and seven.

Speaker 8 (01:24:43):
Give me the Pistons winning, right guy?

Speaker 9 (01:24:45):
Twenty seven?

Speaker 15 (01:24:47):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:24:48):
Just also, it's the Pistons have their superstar. I think
that's the other part about it. Pistons when the playoff series,
K is the superstar, like they have the superstar. I
think it just is a it's a nice, nice basket.
Give you dead together, it's a smooth move. Give Winiston.

Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
I mean, I love the Lark and I'm gonna say
the Red Wings and I'll tell you why hockey playoffs
are just better than basketball playoffs. There's it's just not
even in comparison.

Speaker 7 (01:25:17):
And much like in.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Baseball, where literally every pitch you're on the corner of
your seat, you're the edge of your seat.

Speaker 6 (01:25:24):
Out of breath.

Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
In hockey, man, every minute that goes by your breath
is taken. Basketball games, you just gotta watch the last
five minutes of the game.

Speaker 6 (01:25:36):
You might as you don't even have to.

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
Watch them if as long as they're like the playoffs
to within a twelve point game, just turn it on.
If it's a twelve point game, you got a chance
to have an exciting finish.

Speaker 4 (01:25:48):
Even with your team minute you're still gonna do.

Speaker 3 (01:25:50):
I mean, I'm gonna watch, but you're not like on
the edge of your seat every basket. Oh it's four
to two, Yeah, it's twelve to ten. Here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
You know, it's not like that baseball.

Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
No, I mean like in basketball, you're, oh, it's nine
to six, we got a three point lead with ten
minutes to go in the first quarter.

Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
Alt.

Speaker 6 (01:26:15):
I haven't watched a full NC double a.

Speaker 3 (01:26:17):
Game this year so far, right, not a full No,
you watched the last five minutes?

Speaker 7 (01:26:22):
No, I put on the second half and then I'll
really really dig in the last ten minutes of the game.

Speaker 6 (01:26:27):
But that's true. It's about what kind of hockey kind
of two.

Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
Right, Hockey, Baseball? I like that to your point, like
each play can be something hockey, each play can be
a goal. It can be a great save in each
each in baseball, each pitch can go out the park.
Each at bet can be something specially.

Speaker 7 (01:26:42):
You're right about that, by the way, out, Ryan Bry
Michigan States hockey teams against Cornell tonight in Toledo. It's
the nc Double A Hockey Tournament for mich Michigan State.
Last game, No, Michigan State won the Big Ten tournament
as well. Michigan's out of this. Michigan State's got a
chance to go back to the Frozen Four again. They

(01:27:03):
got the best goalie in the country. So the winner.

Speaker 6 (01:27:07):
All right, guys, this is the best question yet and
it's the Michigan fans.

Speaker 8 (01:27:12):
Would you rather.

Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Lose to Auburn on Friday or beat Auburn, make it
to the Elite eight and lose to Michigan State.

Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
First of all, this is easy. Beat Auburn, the number
one overall seed in the tournament, y'are night is supposed
to well, we aren't even supposed to be in the
tournament to beat the number one overall seed. I don't
care what happens the miigains Michigan State. This team was
not supposed to make the tournament yet, and still they
will beat the number one overall seat and get to
the Elite A. Sign me up. I don't care if
it's losing to as far as they're a better basketball team. Anyway,

(01:27:47):
it should have.

Speaker 15 (01:27:48):
Been that way.

Speaker 7 (01:27:48):
Run that by me one more time.

Speaker 3 (01:27:51):
Lose to Auburn on Friday or lose to Michigan State
on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (01:27:55):
I'm taking the loss early. I'm taking the Auburn loss.
I do not want to lose three times to Michigan State.
I love tom Izzo, but I cannot stand the fans.
I don't think I could put up with it. I'd
probably throw up if they won that game against Auburn
and then lost to Michigan State.

Speaker 6 (01:28:15):
I'd rather just get it over.

Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
I will, I will own however you want to talk
about me, you want to say whatever you want about
I would rather lose to Auburn. I like, not in
a million years, could I this would be the biggest
Michigan Michigan State game in the history of the series.

(01:28:37):
And I don't want to lose that game. So if
you're telling me those are the only two options, there
is no C.

Speaker 6 (01:28:46):
It is either A or B. There is no C
or D. I'm going with option A losing Auburn. I
can't lose that game. I cannot lose that game. I
think that.

Speaker 4 (01:28:56):
It's fine. No, it's not fine, because we legitimately just
attacked the people around this state for being soft as
it relates to Michigan versus Michigan State being scared of
that game. And then yet and still you're gonna come
up here and say.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
That you would rather lose before I'd rather It's so,
it's not so.

Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
It is something you believe in my opinion on that?

Speaker 15 (01:29:16):
Is it soft?

Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
I haven't I have right to have an opinion about that.
You mean to tell me you have an option to
be the number one overall seat in the tournament?

Speaker 3 (01:29:21):
Nobody you know what kind of well you know what,
you know who does care?

Speaker 4 (01:29:24):
The people that care about basketball, the players that care
about basketball, the actual realer lums that care about this. Really,
you beat the number the number one overall seat. You
get a chance to beat them, and you rather lose
to them just to spare you lost the Missigan because.

Speaker 3 (01:29:39):
Who cares.

Speaker 7 (01:29:43):
A scenario that he's given. In reality, we want to
see we want to see Michigan win all the games
and they have to lose to Michigan State.

Speaker 6 (01:29:53):
I'm getting pull the plug right now.

Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
Pull it, are you guys?

Speaker 6 (01:29:56):
Ain't the Lawnlowders.

Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Beat?

Speaker 6 (01:30:02):
You didn't answer?

Speaker 9 (01:30:03):
Oh yeah, no, give me, give me. Let's go, baby,
what beat and you can.

Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
Do it up? Chuck Brewers says Ryan. By that mindset,
we should have turned down the bed.

Speaker 4 (01:30:23):
I'm just I'm just having fun.

Speaker 3 (01:30:26):
Damn.

Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
I agree with everything.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
So here we go.

Speaker 9 (01:36:08):
Let me explain what happened here.

Speaker 10 (01:36:10):
So based on we added up the total amount of entries,
and based on the weight of those entries, meaning like
you know, adding ten or five or three is how
we divided up the wheel. And this is the exact
count that we have come up with. As you could see,
our friend b. Martin has done a very good job

(01:36:30):
with his donations and has taken a commanding.

Speaker 9 (01:36:33):
He has almost over half the pie there, guys.

Speaker 10 (01:36:36):
Everybody else is in not necessarily like alphabetical order, but
everybody is assigned a specific piece of the pie based
on how much he donated into the total pots.

Speaker 3 (01:36:47):
Is that right?

Speaker 9 (01:36:48):
Makes sense?

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
Does this thing well?

Speaker 10 (01:36:51):
The The spin will last about about twenty five seconds,
and it's an extreme slowdown. When it does slow down
and stop, it will have a graphic which will reveal
the winner.

Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
Good luck everybody, you guys ready, I got some music.

Speaker 9 (01:37:06):

telling you who's up Johnson up Bryan on day Jackson
in the whole unbelieve.

Speaker 22 (01:46:45):
It was the father who couldn't coach, but he can
keep track of who should beware.

Speaker 7 (01:46:49):
So Pete, you're trying to say, my father couldn't coach
keep tracking three.

Speaker 11 (01:46:55):
Your father was to he was one of he was.

Speaker 4 (01:46:57):
He was that guy.

Speaker 6 (01:47:33):
I think he went away. Oh no, B Martin, we
can't do it again.

Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
The thing is I have is okay, someone B Martin,
I'm here, someone take well, listen, you got five minutes.
B Martin.

Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
Okay, we got B Martin.

Speaker 3 (01:47:51):
Great job, B Martin, five minutes made in the U S.
A and A. Dickerson aren't here. They are yours, my friend.
Thanks so much for Thanks so much, buddy for being
such a great teammate here at Woodward Sports. We appreciate
all of you. Doctor Jeff Pierce, How are you, my friend?

Speaker 6 (01:48:08):
I don't know how to follow this.

Speaker 11 (01:48:09):
I gotta dance around the room.

Speaker 3 (01:48:11):
It can only go south from here.

Speaker 11 (01:48:13):
Thanks my dance around the room.

Speaker 4 (01:48:16):
It's not to talk about.

Speaker 22 (01:48:17):
Actually, I was thinking about putting cream on your tailbone today.

Speaker 6 (01:48:20):
What get some fod that's four hundred thousand views on Facebook.

Speaker 11 (01:48:25):
I mean I got to my feet.

Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
The girls Tina and Mariel were talking about putting.

Speaker 6 (01:48:31):
Was that live or was that on?

Speaker 3 (01:48:33):
No, it was live.

Speaker 6 (01:48:34):
I thought that was off color, putting bio freeze on
my crack.

Speaker 8 (01:48:38):
I just love how you clarified at the end. You're like, hey,
just remember you guys asked me.

Speaker 11 (01:48:44):
For that's what it is for human resources and legal.

Speaker 6 (01:48:47):
Yeah, hey, that was great.

Speaker 11 (01:48:50):
I didn't I didn't realize you were that close to that.

Speaker 3 (01:48:52):
No, no fracture though, so that's a good news. How
long is this gonna last? Bruce, Bruce tailboat.

Speaker 22 (01:48:58):
I mean to explain to the people what we're talking about.
You basically fell on your tailbone. You got a contusion
to the bone, which I've said before that contusion can
actually be worse than an actual fracture because you have
inflammation into the bone, you have discomfort, you're constantly using it,
like your biggest issue is getting from a set to
stamp position, and you're just kicking in different muscles around there.

(01:49:21):
So you have a little bit more than just a
tailbone coxic sacrom whatever. We're gonna call it contusion. You know,
I'm not surprised it's not broken. But a funny fact
I was given about tailbones just recently today. Do we
want to hear this fun thing? So apparently dinosaurs that

(01:49:42):
have been brought out, you know, dug up and everything,
female dinosaurs tailbones were broken, and they were typically broken,
and the reason they thought it was was because of
the aggressive sexual activity of the dinosaurs.

Speaker 11 (01:49:58):
So you're just comparable to a female right now. Hey,
I gotta get higher.

Speaker 5 (01:50:07):
He's a good joke, you know, sometimes.

Speaker 7 (01:50:11):
History je Hey, doc, I got a question for you
from the Chato Steve o'baby says Doctor Pierce. My dad
is having back surgery April twelve. He's having two of them.
How long does it take for back surgeries to heal?
He hasn't described the back surgeries though.

Speaker 22 (01:50:27):
Well, typically if they're going to that means they're going
from the front and the back. So that's a more involved,
much more labor intensive, usually instrumentation.

Speaker 11 (01:50:35):
So to get serious for.

Speaker 22 (01:50:36):
A second, he's probably got a little curvature. And if
I have to guess by saying he's going from front
to back, that means he's going to have a lot
of metal screws and things like that. Recovery is gonna
be on the longer end. It's not a simple, a
simple thing if we can assume that from what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Sorry, some of these chats are awesome, Doc, go did
Ryan went from a cloud to a female dinosaur? Some
male dino's was hulks?

Speaker 4 (01:51:13):
Let me see.

Speaker 15 (01:51:17):
Kicked up?

Speaker 6 (01:51:17):
For god?

Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
This is so funny. I love it, mean like I
could take a good joke. That's fantastic. I don't even
know what you were talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:51:29):
From Steve O baby baby Anakin wants to know, Doc,
have you ever had to do wisdom teeth removal.

Speaker 11 (01:51:38):
No, I keep no, I don't work with feet.

Speaker 15 (01:51:43):
I don't.

Speaker 22 (01:51:43):
I don't like working with feeder mouse. So we're good.
Jaw fractures. If he's talking about that, we've done, you
know with some of the Red Wings. You know, a
lot of hockey players jaw.

Speaker 7 (01:51:51):
Speaking of that, I watched on Rivaled last night and
I saw Chris Draper. You know, obviously it comes back
to you the damage that was that happened to that
guy that day. You remember that day, I know you do.

Speaker 22 (01:52:07):
Yeah, Unfortunately, you know, I'm a good friend with Chris
and we've been through it, and for I didn't know
like the ending, not to ruin the ending, but I
was surprised at his because he's not that type of guy.
I mean, he is competitive as how, he's a gentleman
at the end of the day. But you know, that's
how scarred he was. And we won't ruin the ending
of the show for those who haven't seen it, but

(01:52:29):
it was surprising to see that. You know, I know
he holds that. But it was also a momentum change
for the Red Wings too, so you know, glass half full.
He said, my injury was worth it. We got Stanley
Cups out of it. But now Chris, you know, Drapes
and I have been close for years. He's a great
human and and you know, it was just sad to see.

(01:52:53):
But I guess we turned it around to be, you know,
making lemonade out of lemons on that one.

Speaker 3 (01:52:58):
Guys off. Officially it's three fifty three. We are going
to award the winner of the tickets to our good
friend B Martin.

Speaker 7 (01:53:09):
Martin, I have his info, You have all of it.
I just need what else do you need from him?

Speaker 4 (01:53:17):
Name for email?

Speaker 7 (01:53:19):
Gat B Martin send me all that info again to
maz at Woodward sports dot com.

Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
Now, everybody to be B Martin.

Speaker 7 (01:53:29):
I don't know you know.

Speaker 6 (01:53:31):
Okay, Hey, Doc, sorry for the shortened segment today. We
had a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
But I do want to ask you about Parker Meadows
on the sixty day I l uh injured list. It's
just late May is the earliest he could come back.
It looks like that nerve just isn't regenerating or guessing
by the way, Yeah, they're guessing he could be out.
He could be out all year for all we know.

Speaker 22 (01:53:55):
No, I mean we we talked about it on Tuesday.
I think we can put up some of the segment
of actual So someone said it was a cutaneous nerve,
just to correct. I don't know if I was on
this show or what, but it's the muscle cutaneous nerves.
So there's something called the brachioplexus, which is the big
combination of nerves that goes through your armpit.

Speaker 9 (01:54:14):
Do we have that pick hang a second, I was
just doing so just to talk more.

Speaker 22 (01:54:18):
It's one of the major nerves that innervates down to
the of the muscles in the arms. So we're looking
at that. You can look at the anatomy there. Can
you show the one that's a little more graphic with
the nerves. Yeah, that so you can see muscle cutaneous
so you see the network of nerves what's actually going
on to your arm tip. So we compared it to
the highways to simplify it, and Neil came up with

(01:54:39):
that concept. But you're looking at the nerves coming from
your neck going down through your armpin. They groove together
and then branch off. So the muscle cutaneous nerve is
responsible for some of the major muscles in the upper arm,
the bicep and the breakalis and third muscle. But for
those are the two big ones. And then if you
show the distribution, he said when he felt it, there's

(01:55:04):
the distribution that the nerves go through. So he felt
an actual pop in his arm and then his arm
went dead. So and then he still has some numbness above.
So when we say it is the nerve dead and
we waking it up to we keep using the term
we got to wake the nerve up to get a
little detail. It's called neuropraxial versus like a stinger where
with a football player, anybody gets a stinger, you kind

(01:55:26):
of feel it in your arm, kind of shocks and
goes down and you kind of shake it off. He
tried to do the same thing, and it's not shaking off.
So neuropraxia is like a shock to the nerve where
we shut it down. Getting too deep for the crazy
Thursday afternoon. But basically that's what they're worried about. That
he had a nerve test done by a third party.
Doctor says that there's still activity. So that's all good indication.

(01:55:50):
His age is for him, So the sixty days it
is a true. Guess, we know it's not not thirty days,
you know, he's going to be in that sixty where
the muscle has to come back. And then there's special
things we could do, special sauce, whatever we're gonna call
it to maintain the prevention of atrophy.

Speaker 6 (01:56:07):
I have my appointment on Monday. That's right.

Speaker 22 (01:56:12):
You guys are just too fired up and distracted. I
gotta I gotta go back to talking about Dinosaur.
