Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like these names. You know, Hank, Aaron, you know, but
all you know about Hank. Yeah, he had seven hundred
and blah blah home runs, he broke the record. They
don't talk about his play on the field. They don't
talk about his bat. Was he controlling bat like a
Tony Winn? Was he just a home run here? They
don't talk about the defensive side of things. They don't
talk about anything. But he had the home run record.

(00:20):
He broke Ray Ruth's home run record.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, so seven to fifty five. I would say, stop
listening to those people because they don't know what they're
talking about. He was an over three hundred hitter for
his career, so people look at the power for sure,
and he's still he's got a record that will never
be broken, and that is the RBIs I think I
didn't win? Oh he didn't win. He didn't his teams, yes,

(00:44):
is what you're saying. Oh, well, look, I suppose you
could say that they did win one World Series with him.
I don't know how many times you have to win
in order for people to put you in the conversation.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So I'm charge, I'm trying to figure it out.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
That's yeah, I would say, I don't know exactly. The
World Series was late fifties, so bear with me. But
he's an MVPs twenty five time All Star. He did
win two batting titles, and I think people forget that,
all right. They think, oh, seven fifty five. They think
of RBI's you know, his slugging and everything else, but
they forget he was an unbelievable hitter. And he did

(01:15):
win gold gloves. Okay, he won three gold gloves. Now,
he's not Roberto Clementy and LK Line and Ken Griffy Jr.
Nor Isy Andrew Jones. No one ever claimed he was,
but he won three gold gloves. If you are looking
for the greatest offensive end defensive right fielder of all time,
Henry Aaron has to be in your conversation. It doesn't

(01:37):
make any sense that you're not when you have those
numbers and a guy could still field and had a
hell of an arm. I don't know if it was
Jesse Barfield or Dave Parker or Dwight Evans's arm, but
when you put all his offensive stuff with that type
of defense, he was unbelievable. So my point was Stam
Musil same way those two guys are two the most

(01:59):
underrated players of all time. I'm sorry, I get a
little I get a little crazy when it comes to
certain players and certain great players like Henry Aaron, because
you're right when yeah, in baseball, when people start to
tell me about, oh, this is how great this guy is,
I have a hard time with some of the people
people consider great today. If that is what great was,

(02:22):
then that's all. So that's the debate, all right. So
thank you to all those of you who had vetterins
in your lives. I hope you remember them fondly. I
hope you are out there thanking the servicemen and women
for allowing us to live in the greatest nation in
the world. When we come back, we're going to dive
into some pistons talk. Oh wait, did you hear that?

(02:44):
I heard a screech a come from the right over here.
It was it was pretty special, I think it was.
This is going to sound strange. I think it's one
of the better wins they've had all season long. We'll
explain when we come back. After this from Ben.

Speaker 1 (02:56):

since two thousand before turning twenty four years old, has
forty one touchdowns. Nobody's close, okayty in my career, forty
touchdowns before he's turned twenty four. Can I put that
in perspective real quick? Rob Gronkowski had thirty eight.

Speaker 4 (04:28):

You know how some things are so good they should
be world famous, but they're not. Our housemade vinaigrette is
one of those things, and the anapasta salad we drizzle
it over. Same with our hand battered chicken tenders, original
recipe soups and pasta sauces. It's almost as if our original,

(05:39):
world famous Detroit style pizza is mocking them, and that's
not very nice.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Why do we fight.

Essentially that's against the Giants too. And what people are
gonna be doing. They're gonna be partying outside Ford Field
in a couple of weeks and they're gonna be Eastern Market.
You know what They're gonna be drinking sun Cruise or
vodka iced Team. I don't know they're gonna be streaking yet,
but it could be. I mean, we're going, we're all going, right,
but real vodka, real iced tea, just one hundred calories
and four and a half percent alcohol. It is so smooth,

(07:56):
It is so crisp, and it is so tasty. Try
it at the next tailgate, at the next couch gate
for Sunday night this season, let the good Times cruise
with sun Cruiser and Woodward Sports, and please please drink responsibly.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I can't take this area again this game.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
Five four.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
That's kool Aid production.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
By the way, first, well, I've never ever heard kool
Aid count down that loud for you was excited.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I forgot this.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
You were excited over there. Man, hey, let's run kool
aid dive into it.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Listen. People were leaving.

Speaker 12 (08:51):
This was a situation where the fans were like, yo,
they've they've meiled it in three games and four nights.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
They did not believe that this was a win.

Speaker 12 (09:00):
I may or may not have changed my record in
my article and then had to go back.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You didn't think, you didn't think that's and that's okay,
by the way down thirteen to fourth, it's okay.

Speaker 12 (09:11):
The last couple of years, these are games that we
saw them drop. That was a straight up character kind
of gut check. When your rotation is decimated, you're you're
relying on players have primarily been in the GV.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
But that's the key that right there, it's okay to think,
okay this first of all, the schedule loss, right, kool Aid?
Tough to do this?

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
It looked like a schedule.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Okay, it's it's not a baseball schedule, but it's still
a tough schedule. Okay, Number one, number two, number two.
The fact that they were depleted, I mean they just
signed when they went back and got Wendell Moore junior
and he was on the freaking bench.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Okay, they like the Lions.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Last year it.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Looked like the Lions and the secondary against Tampa. Yeah too,
of whom, Yeah, the legion of whom. And look, I'll
be the first to admit when you see a guy
who when you see a guy miss forty one shots,
you know, I mean, it's that's a lot. That wasn't
forty one, but when he took forty six? Yeah, right,
but when he missed as many shots as he did,

(10:12):
and he did, he missed a lot of shots, the
most of any one player since the merger in nineteen
seventy six, seventy seven. That's a lot. That means. But
A he had to take him and B God love
him for still shooting. Who else you going to give
it to?

Speaker 6 (10:26):
Right?

Speaker 2 (10:27):
So I think Kid Cunningham was simply spectacular last night.
There's only one other player in NBA history to put
up that j and I give him. You know what
else I loved about it? He only had two turns. Yeah, okay,
So it's that big for you, that is that has
been really really important and Jalen Durant. God love him, right.
I mean he was good to should have should have
made that free throw to make it twenty points. But whatever,

(10:49):
he's improved his free throw shooting that almost eighty one percent.
I think it's their best win because of all those circles. Look,
I don't get crap that Washington's won in nine out
one and nine now one in ten. Okay, see J
McCollum had forty.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Two Histon killer for his whole that team.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
That Washington team felt like they had it. Detroit never
gave in and that can be contagious awesome stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
And whatever he's about the wing last night is not
so much about the shots. I'm not looking at it
like I will look at Mike Helms for Oakland when
I went to high school with Mike Helms. So yeah,
Mike Elms led.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
And they want a pull. That's a great pull, dude.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Mike Elms led the nation is going two years in
a row. He was shooting fifty shots tonight. This is
around the time of AI as well. But it's everything
that you said. He had to take those shots. He
had to stay the course. He had to be the
guy that this team could look to us say, look,
our leader hasn't given up. Our fierce leaders out there
putting it all on the line. I don't care if
I just got here today. I'm gonna put it on
the line because I'm gonna follow that guy that Kool

(11:44):
says is gonna be MVP some day, and I'm starting
to believe him more and more. It's a great win,
Like it doesn't matter. You know, I was coming here
ready to cook. I was ready to cook both of
you off talking about like what are they doing?

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Keep it real, bright, I respect one hundred.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
When you die until what this win was, when you
actually look behind the curtain, let me see what this
game was like. It's more than just playing against the
Washington Wizard. It is a game in which you could
have lost because of the minigame factors, the guys not
being out there, new guys on the team, and just
being It's one of those games. It happens in the
NBA like it happens in baseball. But they didn't lose,
like and.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
There will be more. It will There's gonna be more,
And that's okay. They may not win them all, but
that that is a tough win to come out because
they looked you were there. They looked a little tired.
That's okay, I'm.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Not they've been on the road. The seven wins in
a row, Hell yeah, man, I mean they gets tiring.
It gets taxing. It's mentally, it's mental. We talk about
planning fit and it's mental. Physical, it's the same thing.
It's mental.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Another team's waiting for you.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
You're tired, you beat down, and you still got to
go out there perform. And it's a night game. You
got to be able to get up at night. That's
what I've always respected about that crab is to get
up at night all the time. It's a little easier
to play it. You know, one three thirty right the way.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Get that heartbeat going and then then comes back again.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Imagine if we had to play Monday night football. Every
single time we played the game, all sixteen games of
money football was at night, when you waiting all day
to play a game. But anyway, I digress. It was
a really good win. It was a watching wizard. But
it doesn't matter.

Speaker 12 (13:13):
And you guys talk about that that shooting from K
two and forty six shout attempts missed thirty one. He
joined some company with you know Michael Jordan and Kobe
Bryant as players under twenty four that have the stat
lines that they did with.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
The amount of miss that they did too.

Speaker 12 (13:27):
But you look at Kay Cunningham after you look at
him after that that hit from with Moore in the air,
they just deemed it a hard file. You know, we
thought it was a little bit more to it, But
for the NBA that we asked for, we're like, okay.
And when we saw him get up and try and
grit it off and walk off, he kind of stopped
around half court and just bellied over and you could

(13:48):
hear everything outside it, and then the crowd started chanting.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
MVP did that pitch?

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Was success?

Speaker 2 (13:51):
That pissed me off? Okay, and it was I stood
over him man, Well, so I'm glad you brought that up,
because that's what I have in my rundown. I thought
my favorite part of the game, even if they would
have lost. I wrote it down with Cam Whitmore with
four and a half left to go on the fourth
knocks Kid Cunningham down right along the baseline, pulls his

(14:15):
shirt up like I don't know if he's pulling out
of his shorts or what. I don't know what the
hell that's supposed to mean. Okay, Like Kate Cunningham is
going to be intimidated by cam flipping whitmore. Okay, who
had twenty points Kate Cunningham at that after that point,
after that, he had seventeen points four boards to assist
a steal in a block. In other words, I had

(14:36):
almost as many points after you did that, mother, then
you did the entire twenty four minutes on the floor.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, but I'm not gonna be so mad at that.
I'm actually happy that he was stupid enough to incite Kate,
because let's not lak didn't do that a couple of
nights ago when he dunked on him, he lifted his
shirt up and did it. It comes with the game, okay,
and he did like Kay did the same exact thing
when he dunked on Andre Drummond the other night. It's fun,
it's a part of the territory. But just know when
you do it the k Kate isn't going to get
back at you with dumb stuff, patty stuff, getting your

(15:06):
face figured out. Kate will get back at you where
it matters, and that's in the stat book and the
w co.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, he doesn't play for the Washington competitors, not at all.
He's not swinging.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
That's how you want to play it.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Cool, Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
What was the one he got he talked about yesterday?
He back to back?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah, three three plays made three buckets in a row.
And Kelly said, damn, maybe I should shut my mouth.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
I'd rather that than and this is my player. And
we will talk about him today and players that well,
we'll tease that later. Brian Brant like, that's what Brian ran.
Pay attention, start start start learning that way. You don't
have to pay. You don't have to feed into everything
that happened. You play seventeen games, you play playoffs. Don't

(15:52):
feed in everything you see. K K is all right, cool,
this is how you want to play. You want to
talk stuff, you want to do a little extra cool,
Get him back where it matters, Brian. Go out there,
knock somebody ahead up the right way. Go out there
and get a pick six. Play like you play last game,
because you play it well. But that's how you do it.
You don't have to be it too. You don't have
to be it doesn't hit there the story.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
There's no question that the story.

Speaker 13 (16:18):
JA.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
I get the other step, especially as it's not like
he's not like he's playing. But my problem with overall
theme is that I think we're losing sight how good
Jalen Durant is becoming okay and how he's improved his game.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Did you say thirty million?

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Well, so that's where I was going. I'm glad you're
reading my mind here. That means we've got good synergy here.
As much as we in the media talk about are
the Tigers going to sign Trek Skouoble, how come we're
not talking about the Pistons signing Jalen Durrant.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Because I think I think people aren't necessarily still fully
tapped into what the Pistons are doing. They're starting to,
and I know it still sucks because of what they
did last year, but I think people are starting to
tap in. But they're watching Kate. They're not watching what
Jalen Doran is doing. And Jalen dorans fans in basketball.
This is what we wanted to see, this is what
you talked about. You want the shot selection to be
a little bit better, you want his bag to extend
a little bit, and he's shown you that over and

(17:20):
he's been consistent, like we would see a couple of
games like this last year. We saw a game or
two like this the year before that. But now it's
back to back. Now it's hey, no, no, no, no, no, Okay,
I got you out here. I'll help you. You know,
Ky did his thing, bless his soul, he did all that.
He had to shoot all those shots. But this goes
back to the conversation we talked about. Jay ninety is necessary.
Jay ninety is necessary because Ky can't keep this up

(17:42):
for the whole seasons. As amazing as it was last
night to watch, if I don't want Kate to have
to do this every single night, because he is going
to get worn down, and the body does wear out.
The body wears out when you're the only guy. So Jayden,
I want to see what that looks like. Because if
we can get a guy to help Kate, he capable
of this. Now you get a guy to help him,
and what Doran is doing, y'a already in first place.

(18:05):
Now it gets a little bit better, it gets a
little more consistent.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Yeah, and then you get Duncan Robinson, who's been a
little bit better over the last week and a half. Yeah,
no question. How you fit into a team's offense, how
you read off people. I don't think there's any doubt
about that. But to do what they did last night
without Marcus Sasser, without Jade and Ivy, without Isaiah Stewart,
without Karris Laverias, without Tobias Harris, who to help play?

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Who help played?

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Bobby Clintman, Dannis Jenkins shout.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Out Cleintman played like eight eight minutes, right, yeah, Jenkins played.
He had twenty four points in like thirty four minutes.
It's a career high. You have been telling people Mike
James has laid a really good play by Rodney Stucky
filed out. Yeah, that's a good one. And Corleon you

(18:54):
made a quick quick appearance.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I think Bobby Sarah got something in this last night.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Did you take it back?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
The former Florida State seven are well played, Bobby Sir.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
I'm not gonna lie like Bobby Shaw was one of
those players like when I see him on the TV,
if he's probably I'm like, kudos a Bobby because he
could jump. He was in the dunk.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Contest because he's a white guy trying to do that
stuff back then.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, he was Vie. I'm being honest. You're like players
that were like that. He was like Bobby Sure was one,
like Brent Barry was one. Dann Marley was one. Like
cast you like Jason Williams, Chris Mullins, Chris Mallin, don't
care what you said, Chris Mullins A brother, I don't know, Chris,
Chris Mullins, Larry more stuff than Mark Jackson.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Dude, Larry Bird's the closest brother there is. He's the
closest white brother there is.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Period attitude. Yes, the way he talked Chris Mullen, Chris
Mullins my guy.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Well, from what people told me, Bird Bird.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Was the one that said he said, look, man, you know,
I just want to let you know you got this
white boy and man's real disrespectful. He said, I love Bird.
Larry legend.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
You ever hear the Craig Hodges story about the first
ever three point content when he walked in the and
Larry Bird walks in. He goes, who's finishing? Second?

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Did you hear what?

Speaker 14 (20:02):
Bird?

Speaker 2 (20:03):
And then he would go up to somebody goes, not you,
You're gonna be spent by the last last ball in
the rack. Not you blah blah blah.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Bah blah.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
You with Bird said his mindset on that moment, Bird said,
he said, it was quiet as hell in there. He said,
I walked, I walked into a funeral, he says. So
that was his way of trying to lighten it up.
And the interview was like, you're Larry Bird. They didn't
light anything. Are you scared the hell out everybody in.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
The last And he did it in a warm up,
didn't he?

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah, he didn't take a warm balls he did. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
He didn't have the best like he didn't have the
best round too, Like if you look at it, he had.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
To make Craig Hodges had the best round.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
And then and then he had the best run in
the semis. Yeah, and Bird only one with like it
was like sixteen or fifteen. It wasn't a high score,
but he won.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah, he's Bird, He's a He's a bad man. There's
no question about it. Anyway. So, really good game for
for Detroit, really good run that they've been on. I
don't know this for a fact, but my hope is JB.
Bickerstaff gave him today off and deservedly so, and a
really good job. We probably don't talk about that's nearly
enough either, but a really good job by Bickersteph and

(21:02):
his staff to kind of parcel out who fits where
and how many minutes they're going to get. Cad Cunningham
right now is second, I believe to Luka Doncic in
the league in minutes played. I would like to see
Jalen Durham's minutes go up a little bitty free, so
we'll see. I'd like to see him around thirty. I
think he's right around twenty seven and a half twenty

(21:23):
eight or so, so I'd like to see those go up.
And I love how he's expanded his game. So it's
a lot of positivity there. Lions in first place, Pistons
in first place, Red Wings were playing well until they've
lost three straight, so there's a lot of good vibes
going on.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Man.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I mean, hell, Michigan basketball play tonight against wake Forest.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
They're in the country right six?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Are they six or seven?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Six?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Michigan State's coming off and win over Arkansas. Michigan hockey
and Michigan State hockey are both really good right now.
Michigan football is ranked as well, so there's a lot
of things that are fun that we're able to follow.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
I was with the young man for the Michigan will
his hockey team. He got drafted this past year, twenty fourth.
I want to say, I can't think of his name.
It'll come to me. But the Piston, I lost it.
I was about to jump in and interrupt, but no,
that's okay.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
With the Pistons in general, I think has been a
heartwarming story. The expectations. I think you and I talked
about this before the season. The expectations. Everything for me
comes back to expectations. What are you thinking this team
is capable of? Kool aid? What we say? Top four
in the East. Remember, we wanted to give the Calves
a lot of credit because of what they did a
year ago, winning sixty four games. And then it was

(22:34):
the Knicks, big grudgingly, and somebody said Orlando Kouli Orlando,
I really like what Orlando's done? Right? Yeah, how's that
looking right now?

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Struggling?

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Not good?

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Not as good? Go ahead? What were you going to say?

Speaker 1 (22:48):
I was talking to Jared Jack, who's on that stat
Jared Jack, friend of mine. We overlapped, you know, same
year as he was two. I was one great dude.
He loves the game basketball players. I don't want to
get into that, but anyway, Jered that loves this team
and the reason why he says is this team listens. Ryan,
you were talking about having a conversation earlier about people listening.
They listen. They're sponges and when they hang on every word,

(23:11):
they say, Hey, look, we want you guys to come
in on off day. You know, we just not. They
don't have to ask guys, they don't have to elaborate,
they don't have to explain the guys, this is why
we want to do this. Guys are there, and Case
says to tone anything that they do, anything extra, anything
that they need maybe help with the team. And k
is the first one there. So when you're leader, when
you're when you're starting, the big guy is there. You

(23:32):
don't have excuses. Like like when I was playing football
for the Jets. I remember we had this involuntary like
meeting type deal. It was it was what do you
call it? A voluntary voluntary meeting? But Danny and Thomlinson
was like emailing guys, Hey, you guys are gonna be
at this meeting. I'm like, I ain't planning on going,
but if lt is telling me, I gotta go. I'm
going to the meeting. So I think it's the same thing.

(23:54):
That's how you have to win. Like, that's how they
love the game of basketball. They love getting better at
the game of basketball. And to your point, you got
tipic cat to JB bigger staff his staff because they
found a way to make it fun. But at the
same time, they're getting a lot out of these guys.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
There are two moments that I think has really convinced
or kind of galvanized how I felt about this team.
One was last year. I don't know exactly the game,
but Ron Holland had lost his mind for a moment
on the on the floor and Kid Cunningham literally grabbed
him by the jersey and pulled him into the team
huddle in so many words, saying, this is not how

(24:32):
you handle things. You understand, You've got to stay under control.
You've got to we need you on the floor. You
want to be on the floor. Shut the blank up,
get over here on the bench. There's no one getting
in a fist fight in the middle of the court.
So that's number one. And I thought, you know what,
caid Cunningham's ability to grow as a leader is on
display right now.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
You know what happened, that moment is born out of
that moment would be stuw on Lebron. It could be
what I've been saying because that happened a couple years ago.
And then Kay saw that that was an ugly look.
There's an ugly look all the way around. Like Lebron
is as he is that we know who he is.
He inside the right with his soft sell. But however,
it didn't look good. He's bleeding, He's running around looking

(25:15):
like a man in the tame And I think for
Kay Nah, I saw that once. I don't want that
to be my team again. That was a hell of
a job.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Yeah, good, that's a good memory. And then earlier this year,
Jalen Duran got in the face of Asar Thompson. Kool
Aid remembers this over a misdefensive assignment. I think it
was against Orlando, kool aide, correct me, Yeah, it was
against Orlando. It was down low. Uh, they exchanged some words.
There's nothing wrong with that, by the way, I mean,

(25:41):
we all do that, we all. I mean, there's nothing
guys can take that stuff. Yeah, okay, professional athletes can
take You've had your ass chewed out on a pretty
regular basis by certain coaches and even teammates, and you're
still standing. You're fine, Okay, you have high expectations for
your show. That's fine. Jalen Duran did the same thing
with a sar Thomson. They got over to the bench
after they had their say towards one another, they shook hands,

(26:04):
They went out there and they beat the hell out
of the Magic. Those are two galvanizing moments that I've
noticed that. I'm not talking about guys shooting, having certain shots,
grabbing certain rebounds, playing certain defense. I'm talking about communication
and holding each other accountable really important.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Yeah, accountability is that's how you get better. You don't
think in those locker rooms right now in Detroit, excuse me,
I saw Detroit. Uh in Allen Park. You don't think
when Tate Ratlice in Glasgow miss a block. You don't
think the big fella fifty, Hey, that's unacceptable, I won't
play that here. You don't think when even though he's
dropping passes right now, you don't think when someone drops
a pass. I'm sat Browns like, hey, look they jumping,

(26:42):
even if it's himself, he we gotta jump on the
jug me saying it's two zero six today, we're gonna
do two fifty. You self police, you get better when
you don't address an issue, that issue, it happens again
and again, and then it becomes habitual. That's not what
you want. Like really like teams that win have success,
they still from the habitual.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
MS love that man kool Aid, anything else that maybe
we've glossed over or didn't recognize from last night while
you were watching that game and an incredible We didn't.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Talk about k enough.

Speaker 8 (27:12):
Now.

Speaker 12 (27:12):
I think that you guys, you went in the right
direction where you talk about a Jalen Duran and you
talk about the makeup of this team under a guy
like J. B. Bickerstaff with Cleveland, we saw him take
that team from kind of pupps, you know, not a
lot of winning, to very hard nose, play hard every
single game. And that's what we said that this Detroit
Piss's team. I like the fact that their identity now

(27:33):
is starting to get set that no matter who's on
the court, you're starting to see them with that grit,
with that hustle, with that fight, and it's giving them
a chance to win these games.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Cool and let me ask you this person and shep
I want you to answer as well. JB. Bickerstaff. When
we first got here, it was kind of like, is
he a temporary coach? We know he works well with
the younger players. You build the program up a little
bit and then maybe bring in somebody else just watching it.
It's legitimately a one year plus however, mean games has
been ten snapshot. Is jab Biggers at the long term

(28:02):
plan for the Detroit Pistons or is it even fair
to ask that question?

Speaker 12 (28:05):
Man, with all the hoops I've been around, the coaches
I've been around camps have been in, from Penny Hardaway
to Steve Francis, as soon as I heard this guy
speak and Lendliy Hunter basketball player got to shout him out.
As soon as I heard this guy speak the first
press conference, like being able to talk to him, ask
questions and such, shout out to Rob Beard, it.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Was like, Yo, this guy's a coach's coach.

Speaker 12 (28:25):
And then when you heard the players instantly say things
like players who've been in the league for a few
years already say things like now we finally understand the game. Oh,
we feel like we know where to be on the court.
Then when you're looking, you see, while they're making wholesale upgrades,
changes that generally take some players years to make, we're
seeing during make it in the offseason.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
I do believe that that has a lot to do
with who JB.

Speaker 12 (28:47):
Biggers is as a coach, and I kind of knew
that right away, like this guy is gonna be one
of the ones you probably want to locked down. I
didn't see it before, I have to admit that, but
when I actually got to talk to him and everything,
I was like, he's that deal.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
I look, oftentimes I use practices as a way to
judge coaches. I'm not saying kool Aid did this, but
press conferences oftentimes, I don't give a crap about press conferences.
I really don't, because there's plenty of guys who win
press conferences and then they end up crap in the bed.
One of the things I've noticed about his practices that

(29:20):
I've been fortunate to be on game day shoot arounds too,
is that he allows other coaches to coach. I think
that shows a mindset of security and a willingness to
let others help. I think he's got excellent communication skills.
I think in a day and age where all our
attention spans are limited. He understands that and gets his

(29:42):
players in front of the film, gets the film done, quickly,
gets them out on the floor. Everyone's involved, everyone's talking,
everyone's communicating with one another, everyone's shouting things out, and
then he gets them off. He respects their time, and
he knows that he has set a certain expectation for
this team. And I think, now, does that mean he's

(30:03):
long term? Look, I thought Tom Thibodau was a really
good coach who a lot of I really did. Okay,
I thought he was good, and he didn't last in Minnesota,
he didn't last in New York. I don't know Mike Brown.
How does he hang around as long as he does?
Every coach we all know this has a shelf life.
So I'm not sure about that. But I do know

(30:24):
for this team right now, I think he's the perfect coach.
And I think he does a really good job of
getting the most out of younger players. And ken those
younger players still stay committed to a guy like that,
I hope they can. I think they should. I think
he's done a hell of a job, and to his credit,

(30:45):
he brought on members for his staff. You mentioned a
friend of yours, dear Jack. I mean those guys have
a lot of coaching experience under their belt.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Jarret Jack could be a head coach in the league
and already, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Luke Walton's been a coach. I mean those are those
are important guys to have on your staff.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Outside of being a coach. Luke Walk, we know his
his resume. You know where he's been, who he's been around,
and how he was able to have success. Like that
stuff carries weight because what happens with young players, They
asked questions and the fastest way to connect to the
younger generation if they want to ask questions about playing
with Shaq and playing with Kobe and what it's like
the fastest, quickest thing you do. Kobe worked his ass off,

(31:20):
Like these things that I'm telling you, this comes from Momba,
like Jayalen Dor when I'm telling you things in the
post or a little little little tidbit, so I'm giving
I saw Shack work on this. Now you may not
believe sha gonna put it in that work, but realistically though,
those are the conversation and that's a connecting point for
Luke Walker. His knowledge he doesn't even have to do that,
but the knowledge you add that casts Luke.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Luke Walton was very such a subtle good hire.

Speaker 12 (31:43):
I said it when they when they UH, when I
first signed him, and I was don that summer league
UH in the media bathroom and I was sitting there
and I looked behind Hi, I'm like, WHOA, that's the talk.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Well, that's just Luke Walton.

Speaker 12 (31:54):
It was just like, hey, we got to talk for
a while and offensively. I think that he was really
really good for JA Bickerstaff because one of the things
they talked about in Cleveland was JB. Bickerstaff, is he
able to make the adjustments offensively? And with Luke Walton,
I've seen some things end of games that are a
little bit different to what we've seen prior, and I
think that speaks to JB. Like Dan Campbell, he's not

(32:15):
afraid of innovation, he's not afraid of input. He's not
bigger than any one person. He's not the smartest guy
in a room. He's not afraid to let somebody else
do their job.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
I mean, that's why he brought him on. That's why
he's brought him on staff.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
Right.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
I had a conversation I don't know if you guys
know who Pat Firschweller is, but he was a former
assistant coach for the Red Wings. He's now the head
coach at Western Michigan Hockey. They won the national championship
last year. And I remember asking him a question, Kah Kazu,
I'm asking him a question. When you were an assistant
with the Red Wings, what would make a professional listen
to you when you haven't played at their level? Okay?

(32:49):
And he said, I know that. In order for me
to get to Braylen Edwards, I have to make it impactful.
Like you brought up some guys earlier about hey, listen,
this is coming from Mama, this is coming from Kobe Bryant.
They have to They have to respect you, have to
respect their time and make the point clear right away.

(33:10):
They want the example. I don't need to sit there
and regale you with all these stories. I'm going to
tell you what I see, how I think you can
be better and make you successful, and then work on
doing that with you. It's as simple as that. Now,
sometimes the message can be a little bit more complex,
but the timing and everything else, I think that's really important.
I think that's what JB. Bickerstaff does.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yeah, I think so as well. I think they're they're
a great staff, and you saw what they were able
to do last night. There's no way you can do
what you did last year, go fourteen to forty four
with that team if you don't know what you're doing,
if you have if you don't have a staff, like
it's not about just you. You can be a great
head coach of all the time, but if you don't
have a staff that can help you translate that message
and can do things that you can't, you can't get
to all thirteen all the time.

Speaker 6 (33:52):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
So they got a staff that helps out man and
you can see it. It's fun to watch it is.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
It's a lot of fun to watch, and it's it's
not college college players look at college coaches father figures
or as somebody who stands in their way of getting
to the NBA. I have to tolerate you because in
order for me to get to where I want to go,
you're in my way.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Football and basketball very different, very different. I went to
the football thing, and you're absolutely correct. I just let
me do what I do in this court for thirty
two games and let me get out of your right right.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Yeah, So that's how they see it. So they'll sit
through the long film sessions, They'll sit through the screaming
sessions and the constant drawing on the board and so
on and so forth. When they get to the NBA,
it's a little different.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
Now.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
I'm not saying that JB. Bickerstaff or any NBA coach
just rolls out the basketballs. I'm not naive to think.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
That at all.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
But he does allow his guys to play, and I
think that creates a trust and an appreciation for one
another's talents. So really good stuff. Lucky to have him
as coach here in Detroit. When we come back, some
thoughts on last night's Monday Night Football. We said this

talking about Jalen during They're like, God, he's only twenty one.
That's unbelievable. He turns twenty two a week from today.
That's still unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
I remember what passport when he was seventeen and he
were going to play in Toronto. Remember he had to
get to the passport expedited in the whole nine yards
and he had to have a parent of him do
it because he was on sventeen at the time. It's
like seventeen. That's what Kobe was drafting in seventeen one.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
That dude, he's a monster.

Speaker 6 (41:21):
He is.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
He is such a big dude.

Speaker 6 (41:22):
Man.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
I just I love him. I'm glad he's a he's
a piston. I think it's really good stuff. I hope
we are talking more about that. I get it. Okay,
you're right. He is the robin to someone's batman. As
we mentioned yesterday, that's it's not a knock, but not
many people are talking about it anyway.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
We should be talking about.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
We should be talking I wanted to dive into Monday
night Football and try to get your thoughts on it.
But there's some breaking news kool aid that we have
regarding a Detroit Lion. Can you you and Ryan feed
us a little bit on it?

Speaker 11 (41:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 15 (41:55):
You know what?

Speaker 12 (41:55):
Dorod Payne actually posted to his Instagram footage from Sunday
night that alleged least shows I'mara saying Brown.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
Throwing the first punch with the referee standard right there.

Speaker 12 (42:06):
That was why he said he actually did what he
did to Amarah. And uh, there's a speculation that the
NFL is gonna look into it and potentially levy some
type of punishment against Amarah.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Oh yeah, I don't. I don't think there will be
any speculation. They're gonna look at it. Yeah, there's no
question they're gonna look at it. The question remains it
will be justified? Do you think or do you think
it will be a suspension for the game Sunday night
against Philly.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Well, let's see, let's see what they play is I
have to see the action.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
So this one is in slow mo. But watch the
right hand right arm.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Of sticking out right now sticking out.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Yeah, he's right in front of the ref.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
All right, and.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
Oh yeah, a little bit of a forearm shimmy there,
huh hit his face man? Okay, And you see a
referee coming in on the left side. Now, not the referee,
but you see in a fit.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Like both reps turn away right as it's happening, so
like they're there, but neither one of them is looking.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
Yeah, so the back judge is headed that way and
the line headed this way. But you got somebody coming
in from the left side. Watch play it if you can. Ryan,
not that this is a Braylan breakdown, but still watch
this one coming in and he sees it right there, okay,
and he goes right after. I'm on Rode.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
He threw another punch. Did watch wait?

Speaker 4 (43:26):
Wait, I'm rocking him two biscuits.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
There's the forearm right. Does he throw another one?

Speaker 1 (43:30):
Oh yeah, he does. Right here, he's about to throw
a punch. So that's the the first one. The first
one is him and him. He gave him a wing
and a drumstick there both but both of the both
the players are throwing their arms up. The big fellow,
Kim Long, he has his arm upright, has his arm up,
and the seton. I see you watch arm up that.

(43:54):
Watch now as the rev comes up. He that's a punch.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
That's the one you're talking. He'll be suspended you're right,
that's it because it's.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Too Because it's too You see the rev come up.
There's one where it's kind of like a little bump
with both guys and then you see him after it
throw a punch. Unfortunately, like in my experience, like this
is a punch. Punch and punches get suspensions.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
Okay, so let's try to separate it. We all love
i'm on Rossin Brown, we all love the lions and
respect him. Let's separate ourselves. That happens to your guy?
You want him gone? Am I wrong? Wait a minute,
you're right. Well, Darron Payne got ejected and rightfully so
this went unfiltered until now until the Breylan Edwards show.

Speaker 4 (44:40):
Y'all make us have to be more fair with ourselves more.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
I would expect him if I were the opposition, I
would expect him to be suspended for the game against Philly.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
Here, okay, now I have it. Now I have another question.
Now I have another question.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
I like questions, and.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
I love i'm on ross Aint Brown, but let's have
a question. This is a different season for him in
what way He's got three drops in three games pressing
and now he's throwing punches and this was a delay.
This is a punching where you had a little back
and forth, which is cool. It's football. Hey, he threw
a little thing, You threw a little chicken wing. You waited,

(45:15):
and then you threw an actual punch punch. Like what
is going on with Alma Saint Brown right now in
his mental because three games it's not three drops on
the season. It's three drops on the season in the
last three games in a row. And their drops into
which these are easy catching trim. Everybody drops past the
hell I had drops. It is what it is, sure,

(45:35):
but a one year was you know, is what it is.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
I didn't have a dropping in their mial like football,
by the way point.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Because you played with norther football. But this he's the leader,
like he's been the leader of this offense for the
last three four years. He's been one of the staples
for the last four or five years. Like he's one
of the guys whenever we talk about what the identity
and lions, or whenever we talk about who the leaders are,
whenever we talk about the k Cunninghams, the guy you

(46:11):
point to that's number fourteen, Like this is unacceptable because
if I'm gonna get out if I'm gonna go off
on Brian Branch for his consistent things that this is
something I just want to know, And this is a
fair question. What's going on with amar Rod Saint Brown?
Is he unhappy with Johnny Moe? As we saw Johnny
Moe lost his job Dan Campbell's now the play caller?

Speaker 6 (46:31):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (46:31):
That?

Speaker 6 (46:31):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (46:32):
Something else going on? Because to have this moment on
top of a drop, on top of a drop last week,
on top of a drop the week before that, he's
a different type of person. And if this was anybody else,
maybe I wouldn't If this was AJ Brown, I wouldn't
say anything because if this is AJ Brown, this makes sense,
this tracks. But this isn't a J Brown. This is
a This is a player who were holding a different esteam.

(46:52):
This is a player that has shown us he deserves
to be treated in different esteem. So if he deserves
to be treated in different esteam, I have to look
at this different.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
What have you Have you noticed anything that it would
cause some alarm for Aman Ross because I really haven't.
I mean I watched his podcast a little bit and
he seems like the same jovial, fun loving guy right.
His numbers are in line last year. Last year he
had seventy three catches. Right now he's got thirty seven

(47:22):
catches on the season or sixty four catches, excuse me,
on the on the season. Thirty seven first downs he's got,
So he's got sixty four rocks so far. He had
one hundred and fifteen last year. So he's about in
line with where he's at. It's not a huge difference there.
Why would he be unhappy.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Because he had three drops last year, two drops a
year before that, two drops a year before that, one
drop year before that. Now he has three and eight
games and three in the last three games. On top
of throwing a punch to a dude that, by the way,
is three hundred and twenty five pounds, and you double
back with the punch. Yeah, like you threw a chicken wing,
and then that wasn't enough. He says, something that got
into your feelings where you feel like you can get
away with the punch, which did temporarily, and then you

(48:01):
threw a punch. I can'tnot look at things like that.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
Yeah, I think it's it's worth noting. I give him
credit for throwing a punch quite honestly, because he's surrounded
by Washington commanders. There is no big boy there help
to help him out. He's got four guys around it.
He could easily be jumped.

Speaker 4 (48:18):
It's usually the stuff we jump on as fans. I'm
not seeing all guys.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
You don't want to see something like him throwing the punch,
for sure, Like I give him credit for that. But
when you looking at you see look, look look at
who he's all to the right, big sixty nine. Look
who he's to the next, big Iowa, big country.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
But they're walking away, they're walking away.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
But you see them in the periffia. Yeah, it's not
like you were on an island and you went to Well.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
That's true, but pain is blocking out ratlets. Those are
two big men right there. I hear what you're saying. Yeah,
I'm just I'm exaggerating. I'm just laughing at it.

Speaker 14 (48:51):
I know you are.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
He knows who's right there, like you.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Know, Yeah, you'll get protection from your boys, There's no
doubt about that. This is troubling. It's troubling. I mean
if you're without him, oh suddenly they're gonna use Isaac Taslah.
What does that take away from them. If indeed he
does get suspended. I don't want to jump the gun here,
but I do believe he should be suspended for throwing
the punch.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Let me make it, let me say it a different
way so people can catch on to it. If this
was Jamison Williams, you would be tearing his ass up
right now.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
You're right.

Speaker 4 (49:20):
If this was.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
Jamo, the conversations wouldn't stop this that see, this is
another thing and another thing align with this and oh
my god, and why are you throwing the punch? Is
the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Well I don't understand why,
but because it's Amara Saint Brown, it's like it's cool,
which I also get. But that's what he's given himself
because he's been such a great player, a great teammate

(49:42):
and a great leader and all the things.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
But this is and because we like him. Look, let
me call myself out. Last year, I was pissed Dj Moore.
I had him on my fantasy team but DJ Moore
literally ran off the field during the play because he
wasn't involved. You remember it, Okay, what I'm saying Sunday Minnesota,
Justin Jefferson JJ Mccarthury nine the alter ego throws an

(50:06):
interception downfield. Justin Jefferson could have just sat down, had
tea and watched the guy run away from him. The
dude just ran and Justin Jefferson didn't even chase him,
didn't even go after him, barely made a move toward him,
just watched him like this. And I like Justin Jefferson
a lot. To me, that's unacceptable. Just because you're one
of the best wide receivers in the league doesn't mean

(50:27):
you can't be called out. And just because he's one
of the most productive Lions receivers we've seen here, behind
Calvin Johnson and behind him and Moore, doesn't mean he
can't be called out and punished either.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Yeah, that's a selfish play.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
Now. It's easy for me to say because he's not
chirping in my face.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
Right, and you don't know what was said, right, if
it was something about it gets chippying there. Like listen,
I've been in those spaces he talked about moms, wives.
Everything is on limits when you get into space a
lot of times, and sometimes you know you're twenty five,
twenty six, twenty seven, somebody say something, you know your
girl or this that, and the third it what are
you so you can? But it's still it still doesn't

(51:10):
change the fact that it's unacceptable. Because if I'm on
Rossaint Brown is not in the starting lineup Sunday night
football in Philly against the Philadelphia Eagles, that's gonna be
a problem. That's gonna be a problem.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
And I keep thinking the entire time every time I
see the Lions passing game, I think of windows. When
you always talk, I don't mean windows of winning. Braylan
told us last week, I'm on Rossaint Brown needs a window,
Jameson Williams needs a window. Well, guess what without that guy?
How does that change for Jared Goffin, Maybe.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
I can finally get my fifty to fifty ball.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
Yeah, And there's gonna be a lot more Sam Laporta
and who knows brock right, more Jamier Gibbs out of
the backfield, which I love, but love the the shallow
crossing routes by Jamison Williams. But Philly's gonna be ready
for that stuff.

Speaker 1 (51:59):
All that sounds good and its absolutely what they would
have to do, and you have to You're gonna have
to make the game plan around fourteen is one of
them once.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
There's a reason he's a one.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
Fourteen is one of those ones. Man like, he understands
the offense as good as Jared go.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
It's a big blow.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
It that's that's a different When you understand the offense,
like the quarterback, you're really a court You can do
whatever you want to on that field because you stay
within the timing, you stay within the rules and the
concepts of the game. So not having him out there,
I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying that will
be a blow.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Yeah, that's a big blow. We'll get to your thoughts
in the chat and Koula it will be happy to
a ton yesterday.

Speaker 13 (52:35):
But yeah, last night I was thinking saying, as well, okay,
let's get to those I can I just get Bravelyant's
thoughts on last night real quick, because to his credit,
Jalen picked Green Bay to win the division.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
I think they're a good football team. But the other day,
but last week on Friday, when we were making our
NFL picture, you said something that rings him in the
back of my mind. I don't believe in Jordan Love,
those were your exact words, don't okay, which which confused
me because why would you pick Green Bay if that
were the case? But whatever, let's not digress there. Last night,

(53:07):
while he's playing in the middle of the third quarter,
he's got eighty seven yards passing. I'm thinking to myself,
exactly what you said on Friday. The warts for every
team have been you know, we've talked about him with
Green Bay last night and Philadelphia, I thought Jalen Phillips

(53:28):
was the best player on the field when you looked
at that. Do those teams look like they're the best
team in the NFC, either one of those teams or
is it because of how good their defense was.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
So the conversation with Jordan Love as it relates to
not trusting him, Look, there's a lot of quarterbacks that
I don't trust but their own teams where they can
get the job done. Jalen Hurts is one of those
type guys. Jalen Hurts is a guy where I don't
trust him completely. But the team that he's played on,
the defense that he's at the offensive line, and he's
had and when he's had specific play callers, whether it
was Kellen Moore, whether it was Shane Stikeen, it looked amazing.

(53:58):
I don't necessarily trust him. Same with Jordan Love.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
Like what does it take for a quarterback to earn
your trust?

Speaker 1 (54:03):
Like Dak Prescott to me, is a better quarterback than
Jalen Hurts, Like in the same division. He's a better quarterback.
But I definitely would take green Excuse me, I would
take the Philadelphia Eagles over any version of the Dallas
Cowboys over the last four five years. That's kind of
more so what I meant by that, You said to
get my truck be consistent, like a six year quarterback
in the league. Still shuffling in the pocket, still having
bad technique, bad mechanics, not being able to get rid

(54:26):
of the ball and pass the line of scrimmage when
you're getting out of pocket, trying.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
To throw the ball away, not being super accurate.

Speaker 1 (54:31):
Things like that. Watching the game last night, we talked
about Tucker Craft was my fantasy tight end. This is
not about fantasy. This is just the truth. It's one
of the best tight ends in the game. Currently eight games,
six touchdowns, He's accounted for forty one percent of Green
Bay's offense. Him not out there. I knew what it
was gonna look like because they still don't have a
number one wide receiver and he got banged up, which

(54:52):
is Romeo dives. Matt Golden was out of the game.
They didn't have enough firepower to win green Bay. Me,
excuse me the Eagles. The Eagles defense is good enough
to where they were going to give them enough opportunities
to eventually. The Eagles have better players currently on that team.
They have Davonte Smith who scored a touchdown. You still

(55:13):
have a j Brown, whether you throw them the ball
or not. You have Dallas got it. You still have
Sakuon Barkley, and you still have Jalen Hurts who can
rush the ball. At least I thought he could run
the ball a little bit. So it was only a
matter of time before Green Bay just had enough and
then the Eagles won that game.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
That was not a great game. I love defense.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
One of those in the top five, and when we
talked about they were down that list.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to your list this week. Quite honestly.
A scoreless tie in the first half, first time that's
happened since two thousand.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
Signed up. Yeah, when they put that stat up there,
it said two thousand and nine and it said Brown Ravens.
You know me I'm in my head life.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
I was thinking.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Luckily I was not traded.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
I was thinking I was thinking the same thing because
because I said literally out loud while I'm on my
computer watching it, thinking to myself, if Braylan's part of
that team, and I went immediately to Pro Football Reference,
if Brailn's part of that team, He's gonna hear about
this tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (56:11):
But you know why it was zero because Brayley want
to part of that team.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
By the way, we were talking about I'm on Ross
Saint Brown earlier. In case you missed it, the video
we just showed in that little mission uh throwing the
punch at Deron Pain. He was the first one to
throw the punch. You would expect him to be suspended.
He's played in eighty seven percent of Detroit's offensive snaps
this year. Eighty seven percent. I remember they put some

(56:36):
of the backups in last week, so that's part of
the percentage. So overall, my guess is, you know, when
if if they're playing overall, he's he's playing well over
ninety percent of the snaps.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
And that and then firsting and that's one of the
things man like he is the focal point or one
of the main focal points. Like so much you say
about Jamior Gibbs in a running game, like I would say,
the majority of the offensive plan is I'm on rustling
Brown mixed in with what they're gonna do behind.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Okay, so let me ask you this and then we'll
get to some super chats. We heard at the beginning
of the season. We hear during training camp that Jamiir
Gibbs might be flexed more often. Okay, we haven't quite
seen that as much as I thought we would. Not
that I expected, you know, forty snaps a game. I
just thought i'd see it a little bit more. If
I'm on Ross Saint Brown is out, Isaac Teslatt does

(57:21):
not play the same position. You could explain those different
wide receiver positions better than anybody.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
Khalif probably plays it the best.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
I was just gonna ask you, Okay, Khalif would.

Speaker 1 (57:29):
Probably be the best in terms of the motioning, the
things that he does, the inside slot routes, the inside
square rouse basic routes, if you excuse me, the inside basics,
the deep overs and things he does. Kalif would probably handle.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
Some of that, and then good blocking cour wide receiver too.
Not as good as I'm on Rossing Brown good enough.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
Good, he loves, he loves. But if you want to
try some of that stuff, I would I would lean on.
What does the David Montgomery Jamiir Gibbs package look like.
We saw a little bit of that didn't have any success.
What does that look like early on? I think that
would be something different that the Eagles haven't seen. And
I think this is the game the Eagles have been
waiting for us.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Could you envision Gibbs playing a little bit of that?

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Or is that because now Dan is the one calling players.
At least he's taking the advices and then saying, this
is the one that I want to call. But Dan
understands what the concept was before the season, and I
believe that's why he took over. Also is because they
had a plan going to the season and then Johnny
Moe couldn't execute that plan. And I think Dan is now.

(58:29):
I like what we were talking about in May, I
like what we were thinking about in July. I like
what we were practicing in August. What f is that at?

Speaker 15 (58:38):
So?

Speaker 1 (58:38):
I think you'll see a lot more of that.

Speaker 2 (58:40):
Love that kool aid? How about some super chats Hey,
you know it ssound out to the people.

And in the words of kool Aid smash that like,
but I.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
Have a pole. I have a pole that I would
like you to insert to the chat if you could.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
Yeah, let me get that right.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
And that chat is that pole is going to be
a part of what we do sup, which is, if
you can hold on to one of the current stars
within the city of Detroit and the four major franchises,
who would that player be? And I'm talking about having
this player for the lifetime of his career. So all

(01:01:00):
the guys that are currently play for the Lions and
Tigers or rail Wings and the Pistons, who's the guy
that you want to lock.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Up for the career. That's a really good question.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
I got some I got graphics of hone.

have to catch him more on Big D Energy on

We love him here because he's a great guy, but
also what he does best he can diagnose anything as
it relates to muscles, joints, pain, whatever you have going there.
If it's to me, if it's a neck, if it's

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
It doesn't get any better than Buddies, Pete. You know that,
I hope I now. If you're a Detroiter, if you're
a Michigander and you know they're twenty two locations throughout
the state, you recognize that they are the best in
the category of original Detroit style pizza. They've been doing
it since nineteen forty six, and it is simply delicious.
What more can you say? You could save ten percent
off your entire order as well using the promo code

(01:07:17):
ten meal. That's ten meal. Find the location near you
by going to Buddy's Pizza dot com. We bet sometimes
I don't understand. Many times I don't understand how in
the world certain organizations exist. Right Dallas Mavericks is a
really good example. They're firing their general manager, Nico Nego

(01:07:43):
got fired. No here here's a phuck. I haven't seen that.
Has he been fired yet? I know he's about to.
I don't think it's been announced.

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
We have to be careful with that because I remember,
you see what's going on with Brian Kelly at LSU. Allegedly,
I would know he's but he's he's right, it's a
it's a bleep show like this is. But you know
when I saw that situation and those of them don't know,
like they LSU fired Bryan Kelly after the last game.
But what they're saying, because there's twenty million dollars that

(01:08:14):
he sued for that he was going to be Liablefore
they're saying that, oh, well, the guy that fired him publicly, well,
he didn't have the power to fire him, so technically
you can't sue because you weren't really fired. That is
the biggest example of the world we live in today.
Nobody wants to take accountability, Like there's this a bleep

(01:08:34):
show of things going on. How does this sip plast
the crack where somebody does not have authority but fires
your head coaches that has a fifty million dollar buyle?
How does this happen?

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Don't I don't get it. They did. They did fire
the athletic director, so kudos to them.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Official.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
And here's the thing that I don't get though. So
last year, I know you're going into you're you're the
owner of the Mavericks. Okay, and and it is, but
don't take it that way. No offense to kool Aid.
Kool Aid's Nico Harrison, Okay, you and he comes to you,

(01:09:12):
and he comes to you and he says, here's the deal.
I'm gonna trade Luka Doncics for Anthony Davis, Max Christy
and a first round pick. All right, hopefully if we
get the first overall pick, we'll get Cooper Flag. This
is my sales pitch to you. At some point, Braylan
Edwards had to tell kool Aid okay, yeah, thumbs up, okay.

(01:09:33):
Literally months later, the first game I think, I think
Don Chicch finished with forty nine to eleven and eight
in his Lakers debut. Months later, I mean, we're ten
games into a season. Eleven games into a season, he's
getting fired. I know, you can't fire the owner who
the hell approved it. You could have easily just said
that's a bad idea. This is my team. We're not

(01:09:56):
doing that. I know he's heavy, but can I just
say work with him to make him thinner? The Lakers
are doing that, So this is ridiculous. How does this happen?

Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Adam Silver? I know you don't play these games ships
as it relates to the conspiracy theory of a bigger thing,
and usually I don't. But when it comes to the NBA,
I do. That deal had nothing to do with Nico Harrison.

Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
He doesn't eat.

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
First of all, he's the fall guy.

Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
Now, he doesn't even have enough stroke to pull off
a move like that, A move like that in the
middle of the season, right at the turn, that is
only approved by one person. And the power started with
Stern rest in peace, and he carried it on to
Adam Silver. That move had nothing to do with Nico,
had nothing to do with Dallas, had nothing to that

(01:10:44):
was hey, look this is what we need. We need
Lucas ass in La, this is what we need. This
is what you're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
This is the reason I have a hard time believing that,
because here's a guy he's never he's never getting another
GM job. Not when you not when you have that
type of kaboo.

Speaker 1 (01:11:00):
But you don't necessarily anyone. If if the commissioner of
the NBA, because David Stern did a couple of these
funky deals too, I know, if the commission in the
NBA is making you fog out of something, I mean
he's making you, you're gonna take care of you one hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
So you think he gets a job in the NBA
somewhere working with the NBA.

Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
Maybe it's an NBA executive bosses. Maybe he's working in
New York. Maybe it's another team, Maybe it's whatever it is.
Maybe it's being the brand ambassador globally for this brand
and their ability.

Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Let's go out to Africa. There's gonna be in charge
of them.

Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
There's plenty of jobs that they can give him. When
he's gonna make eight million year and be fine or
four million.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Years fine, all right, I could be if that happens,
I'm gonna give you full marks. If that happens for me,
that would be tough to take. If I want to
be run a team, if I want to build a
team into a championship model, that would be really hard
for me. Anyway, either way, how the hell do you
fire the guy? How does the owner even allow this

(01:11:55):
to happen in the first place, and now you fire
him half you know, nine bro, So it was nine
months ago. I was gonna say, a half a month
into your full season. Look ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
Okay, Now let me take the conspiracy theory off the
table and actually look at what it was at the
time you're talking about. You have Kyrie Irvan, you have
a D still the glass man. But let's just act
like he was a D what he was playing at
that time, which is pretty good basketball. You have a D,
you have Kyrie, you have a team of young guys.
You got some glass some Renten protectors, you have some shooters.
Now you're telling me that in a year, not a year,

(01:12:29):
but in the draft, I'm gonna get Cooper Flag. Yeah,
Like that's a good looking squad.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Well, not to mention the fact Anthony David's been hurt,
Kyrie Ivan's been hurt, but they're not really ky frank.

Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
True, Kyrie got hurt, like he got hurt four days
after after the trade trade, right, but going into.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
It, Anthony Davis showed up and he got hurt right away.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Yeah, you know he hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
Yeah, and by the way, he's thirty two, which I
know it gets a little bit older. It's obviously older
than Doncs, but it's not like he's an old man.
It's not like he's weird rolling around in wheelchair. He's
still got plenty of good years left in them.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
I think if you're trying to sell tickets, you're trying
to sell all that to a fan base. Like if
healthy you had a d Kyrie, you have good ball club.
It's still Dallas and you'll be getting Cooper flat. You're
gonna have butts in the seats, You're gonna be able
to do the things, and y'alln't want a championship since eleven,
you're not really championship material. I take the win. That's
what it is now.

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Yeah. I think the only problem with that is that
those butts in the seats kept saying, you know, chanting
fire Nico Fire Nicoya, and they listened to it.

Speaker 14 (01:13:30):
The moment I knew the conspiras because I thought, exactly
like Braylyn, you put Dontrich in LA who is they
ain't make the finals? But who was a really good
team On the other side, The.

Speaker 1 (01:13:39):
Celtics always always la like, look, this is this is
not to catch you off. It's always the Lakers involved
when there's a potential conspiracy. That's why over to it.
The Chris Paul deal, they got Nicks Pole gasou getting
there in the middle of really pot Really.

Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
This is you set it up for Kobe like James Worthy.
Really you have the first round pick, first overall pick,
you get James Worthy.

Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Yeah, you got the shat When they always try to say,
all right, well, the Orlando Magics owner didn't have the money,
didn't want to match because he believed that, hell, I
will never play athletes, that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
The divorces have a lot of money.

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Exactly. I'm telling you like it. Whenever it's l a
I tend to play the conspiracy game.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
And then, uh, well do you buy into that kool aid?
It's your league? Do you buy into it?

Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
I kind of do.

Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
Man, Okay, So the Frozen.

Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
I know, Patrick Ewing thing, the Tim Duncan thing, I'm
with you on all that. I know, I'm I do.
I get frustrated with it. So here's what I would
ask people. In order for conspiracy theory to happen, there's
gonna there's gotta be a lot of people keep quiet,
and we we've heard nobody come out and say yeah,

(01:14:55):
there was a frozen envelope. Yes, the Webin Yama thing
was a setup. That's the shock always framed in that
that needs that needs to be at least mentioned otherwise,
the credibility of a league. This isn't just a team.
This is a man who's trying to build himself a reputation,
and you know, go a little bit deeper with it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
It's it's on the line there and then got my
times made people maybe.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Well we know that.

Speaker 1 (01:15:24):
It was cool though.

Speaker 12 (01:15:25):
Now at an All Star weekend and everything, shout out
to the Pistons, to the NBA for having this credential
down there.

Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (01:15:32):
He just walked into an elevator with some media and
it was interesting because it's a lot of floors, a
lot of things picked where we're supposed to go and stop.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
They put one key in, cleared everything, took him right
to the store. But he was one of the nicest
people talked with us. Was real cool.

Speaker 12 (01:15:46):
It was like, all right, man, you don't want to
believe in you, but we should have been a pistol.

Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Also, you are a member of the media, so you
know he is going to be somewhat nice to you
to a certain extent. During that weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
I told you about that Dallas Mavericks game last year
that I did at ten. Why the hell was Adam
Silver in the building.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Adam Silver was explain explain for those who missed place.

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
Last year when the Dallas Mavericks played the Detroit Piston. Well,
I guess it was technically I've been this year, but
last season. Uh, legitimate. This is the week before the
trade or this was that day before the trade was
at Friday night they played the Mavericks and the Pistons.
They weren't necessarily doing the Pistons thing where they can
forty from fourteen to forty four. They were all right,

(01:16:28):
why is Adam Silver at the game watching the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
You were asking yourself that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
So I wasn't, well, kind of because I got kicked
out of the suite so that they could talk business.
I was asking why did I get kicked out?

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
And they said because the commissioners.

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Well he walked right by me and Jalen gave me
like that, he was like, get out. I didn't ask
them that. I would never like I saw it. But
I'm asking myself, why am I getting kicked out? What
information is being passed that I can't be privy to
because this is just a gifting suite or chill spot.
You can go in there and have a drink, you know,
or have some food, have some conversation. You got this
guy out there. It was all it was all all

(01:17:02):
of a sudden, as they say, he said, he B,
I need to get out. Jay Leene never told me that.
I'm knowing Jay listens, we go back to the eighties.
Never told me, Hey, say yo, B And then I
knew it was that Cora.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
You didn't put that microphone underneath the table. Huh No, No,
I'm lloyal.

Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
I'm loyal.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
He is.

Speaker 3 (01:17:21):
Immediately after that trade, I go just watch for the
draft lottery.

Speaker 14 (01:17:24):
Something funk He's gonna happen, and then chance to land
the number one pick, and they landed.

Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
I'm just saying that that does set you up. You're
right about that. We we just made a trade that
helped one of our big one of our biggest markets,
all right, and and our biggest brand. You could say that.
And then we get rewarded, against all odds and I'm
not talking about a Phil Collins song, against all odds,
we get the number one player in the country. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
Hey, Lebron go to Miami and meanwhile, hey, what's his name,
Dan Gilbert. We'll give you three number ones. Lebron, you
go to Miami. The Cleveland Browns won three number ones
like stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
It may just be, you know, it may.

Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Be they didn't use the pick very well. But yeah, right.

Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
They got they got one right, and then they used
one of them to get k Love.

Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
So so like I'm just saying, like when walk sometimes
it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck,
and it's not a duck a lot of times. It's
just it's just that it's a duck.

Speaker 12 (01:18:25):
Yeah, we do have a little unrelated news NFL news
breaking news. Jaguars cornerback wide receiver Travis Hunter will miss
the rest of the season following knee surgery.

Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
He had today, So so.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Much for that commercial with him and Trevor Lawrence, which
is that's a really uncomfortable commercial.

Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
That's the best way said about say something else which
is not acceptable today. Yes, it's very uncompous. I don't
like the song they chose to. If you want to
do all that little little cringey stuff, fine, the song
they choose too.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
It's like, you know what, I always wonder about them. Again,
I always my mind goes to a conference room. Somebody's
thinking about that idea. Trevor Lawrence doesn't good on Don
camer either, just Travis Hunter. But either way, So they
want to take two young guys whatever. If I'm their agent,
I want final approval on that. And there's no way

(01:19:16):
they could have gotten final approval.

Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
Money and good.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
Yeah, a lot of crazy, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
I say this though, they need to make a decision
about him. I know you moved up. They have a
two pick. I know you drafted him second overall because
he's his dual threat. This is the precursor. You can't
have him playing ninety on both sides. I told you
what I believe he is.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Oh, I thought you were talking about Trevor Lawrence. They're
gonna have to make a decision on him.

Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
Oh, he's gonna be the next quarterback for like the
Jets or something like that. He'll be one of those
Russell Wilson deals.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
So speaking of that, I mean, we're gonna get to
the one staple you want in Detroit. We've got a
few things we want to get to. But I do
want to talk about the quarterback play for a moment,
because last night made me think of it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:56):
We can do it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
We can do a quick time out. If you want
kool aid, we can do that. Hear this from black Rock,
who's got an unbelievable deal going on right now. Folks,
you gotta hear this. And Lady Jeans, it's more than that.

Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
It's more than the state tonight. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
Yeah, broccoli and okay, okay, fighting words. Now you don't
eat broccolin. He knock it off.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
I've never known that eating healthy was such a disgrace.
Getting gary, you know, Blackrock Grill, It's saying thank you
for the sacrifices and services this veterans day to day.
Now it's our turn to get back. And that's why
I love about party with black Rock Brown Grill. They
love to get back to you, the consumer, the fan,

(01:20:39):
the people. Black Rocks is giving away free stakes to
all veterans on an active military. Let me say that again.
Black Rock is giving away free steaks to all veterans
and active military, a six ounce serlong with a choice
of soup salad and one side. A soup or salad
and one side. So it's more than just a state

(01:21:00):
let present valid idea. I'm trying to come to Blackbrond
Barron grill and faking that you're a veteran. There's nothing
more disrespectful than that this deal is only valid tomorrow
for veteran's day, so get it. Why you can't, and
that tomorrow happens to be today, So there it is.

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
That's good stuff, man, always good stuff. Anytime you walk
through the doors of Lady Jane's. Let's be honest. We
like things pretty simple like steak, nothing wrong with that, right, Yeah,

I want to get to Braylan's thoughts first on what
he had brought up regarding the best players this city
has to offer and who you keep it set that
stage for.

Speaker 4 (01:27:02):
Aiden Hutches.

Speaker 2 (01:27:03):
What we haven't We haven't released it yet.

Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
He's talking about oh no, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
No, yeah, the chat poll, but you're yeah, but it's
the same thing. He was just right. I was gonna
kind of lead into the chat poll right after you gave.

Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
Us smart man. Basically, if you had your symetry, I
got you. If you had your guy, if you had
your choice, who would you choose to stay the length
of their whole career here in the great city of Detroit.
So notable players you have, I'm a Ross Brown, Aiden Hutchinson,
K Cunningham, just to name a few more sited maybe
Terry Scogle. Those are the names mine. Well, I take

(01:27:39):
you backwards, I take you back to for with us
into chat. Here we go, all right, righty, so let's
go ten. I got Jamier Gibbs is not on here.
I got Jalen Doing, Riley Green, Saint Brown, Williams Schoogle,
Jack Campbell, Brian Branch Pinaso Hutch and number one is
k I'm a football guy.

Speaker 6 (01:27:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
Well, also I think the football players are the better
than the best players in the city.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
So yeah, there's more Detroit Lions you could see in
that conversation than any other sport.

Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
Yeah, because red Wings. I don't want anybody outside the
more excider.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
If I'm talking about maybe Lucas Raymond, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
Talking about for the length of their career. But I
think Lucas Raymonds is gonna be that good, so I want.

Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
Yeah, he's not gonna be the next City Crossby.

Speaker 1 (01:28:21):
I don't disagree, So he can be on that list,
but he's down list for me. Schools down that list
a little bit. Obviously. We know how great he is.
Probably the best pitching in the league. Him not wanted
pitching that playoffs. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
That that kind of continuing you're saying.

Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
Continue that rubbed me the wrong way. Really, I don't
care about what your contract with the future holes or
what it was in that moment they're supposed to lose
with him on the mound to rub me a little
bit the wrong way. But I think I think the
top three are pretty easy. I think it's gotta.

Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
Be k touch and then I'll be honest with you.
I think the number one is really easy. And maybe
it's because football is such a it's such a difficult sport,
and it's such a collision sport where you could get hurt,
whereas in basketball it's less likely. And let's face it,

(01:29:16):
of all the sports, there's really only two who can
take over a game, at least on this now goalie
can too, but there's no there's no goalie you're wanting
to be that.

Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
As good as Ad is, he can't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
Did last night, that's correct. And as good as Trek
Skoobel is he's been his best pitcher on the planet.
He can't do it as often as he does. He
does it once every fifth day. Caid Cunningham is playing,
hopefully and at least eighty of the eighty two games,
or somewhere in the seventy seven, Okay, can I do that?
Somewhere in there. He's playing twenty percent of his games,

(01:29:51):
Caid Cunningham is playing for his team in eighty percent
of his games. I think that's what makes it really
on top of how great he is. This is not hyperbolic.
This is not because of what he did last night. Okay,
it's not pecular the career high and all that other stuff.
It's because he can dictate the game. Scooper can dictate
the game too, but he only plays on one side
of it. Hutchinson can dictate the game, he only plays

(01:30:13):
on one side of it. Sider can help dictate the game,
but he's playing thirty minutes a game. Kid, Cunningham's playing
thirty seven minutes a game. He's got the basketball in
his hands all the time, and he's gonna play least
eighty percent of his team's game as long as he's healthy.

Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
It cuts you off guard there. That shows Jamo over
Amar Rastling Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
It caught me really off guard because I don't understand it.
Explain it for me, well, the way you explained it
makes it sense. But I want people to hear it too.

Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
So I chose Jamo in terms of like my ranking orders,
you say, I went backwards, so I'm around's name came first, Jamos.
Then if you go forward, then that season behind. I
think when you start to look at the duration of
a career, let's say we're talking thirteen, fourteen, fifteen years,
like Amar Rastling Brown is five ten and a half
and runs a four five five forty. That four five,
five forty. Once he gets to year seven, eight nine,

(01:30:57):
that becomes four to six, that becomes four to six five,
and he's also five ten and a half, and we
realize he's not one of the short wide receivers that's
going up because I seen to kill go and make
a lot of big players in terms of he'll jump
over you make the catch. He's a springy guy. For
it to be five nine or whatever he is, you
don't see that out of Amar Ross Saint Brown, Jamo
runs four two whatever. That four to two after five

(01:31:17):
years still maybe four two after seven years, it's now
four to three. Now you get another four five six
years of that four to three. He's not cracking four
four till you're thirteen fourteen and he's already that type
of wide receiver. I just think where Jamo will catch
almar Ros Saint Brown is you're eight and on, he'll
catch what amar Ros Saint Brown was able to do

(01:31:38):
year one through six.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
So I'll use the words of a friend of mine
who's very smart about football, and I talk with him
from two to four every single day. A'man Ross Saint
Brown is the best wide receiver in football.

Speaker 1 (01:31:54):
On this team right now?

Speaker 15 (01:31:55):
He is.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Okay, well, my friend said was in the league for
all everything he does. Is what my friend says. You know,
I don't know if you know him, but my friend said,
he's the best wide receiver in football. He may not
be the best total total Yeah, total wide receiver in football.
He does. He's not as good at running routes or
catching passes like Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase. But I'm on,

(01:32:18):
Rossing Brown's the best wide receiver, total wide receiver in
football for everything that he does.

Speaker 1 (01:32:24):
Kee where it was. Now, what does that look like?
You're talking about the totality. Yeah, I'm extending a thirteen, fourteen,
fifteen year career, you know, So that's what I'm looking at.
Even the totality of that. Okay, at some point it changes.

Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (01:32:37):
It looks a little different.

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
It's a good explanation. Personally, I don't think Jameson Williams
is going to be around for thirteen years. You said
the length of his career. I think I don't think
he's as good as you would know this, but I've
heard this from you. A better route runner, I don't
think he has as good as hands. It's obviously the speed.
All the things you make you say makes sense. I
would still take i'm on Rossain Brown over Jamison Willis

(01:33:00):
for that reason.

Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
These are different types of receivers. No, not those two.
I'm talking about what I'm about. It's different type. Go
with me on this. I'm a Rosson Brown as a
much better player than this guy. However, I look at
it like a Juice Landry type situation. A Juice Landry
type situation, you get out of the zone, you get
out of a space like they schemed him a lot
in Miami. Starts to get a little bit slower as

(01:33:24):
you get a little bit older. In Cleveland injury too,
and he's like, now he's slower, not even.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
Around and who would you use his to conference, Jamison.

Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
Williams, give me a second on that one. I get
you a good one. I'll give you a good one
and I'll be fair with that.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
I know you will. Let's get to some super chats
or chats that have caught kool Aid's eye, and if
we have time, I'll bring this up regarding the.

Speaker 1 (01:33:49):
Reason I Juice Landry is because he in his first
six years, he broke all the records same that Odell did.
Juice Landry broke those records too in terms of catch
his yards and touchdowns in the first six season of
NFL career, Juice Landry did. So that's kind of why
I used him. It wasn't a disrespect. Juice was actually
liked that I get six years.

Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
Yeah, no problem, no problem. We can always table the
quarterback discussion for tomorrow. We don't have to hit it
today when we got a few more minutes left in
the in the show. So I want to make sure
I get your comp for Jamison Williams, and I want
to make sure we get the chats in there. They
deserve it.

Speaker 4 (01:34:22):
Go ahead, Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 12 (01:34:24):
And you know what right now, the chat they in
this poll they have k Cuneyham leading the poll in
terms of the player they would hold on to, the
start they would hold on to for their entire career.
In Detroit, He's int he have fifty eight of Hutchinson's
at thirty nine percent, Terror Schooble at nine percent, while
Sider at two percent.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
So that surprises me a little bit right now. With Terrek,
first of all, it's a great poll question, but it
surprises me at Trek's schouble just because all we have
heard over the last two years is how we've got
to extend him. I saw somebody on social media over
the weekend say pay him four hundred and twenty five
million dollars right now, and my thought was, oh, well, okay, well,
if that's all it takes and just use let's not

(01:35:03):
have any reasoning behind it.

Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:35:05):
I think it's asinine. I think it's ridiculous. I wouldn't
do it personally, but that's just my opinion. Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
That's that's very interesting, is that going with twenty home runs.

Speaker 2 (01:35:16):
That doesn't even come with twenty wins. By the way,
it's fair, that's fair, Okay, that comes with one complete game.

Speaker 1 (01:35:22):
I want people to write thirteen wins this year.

Speaker 2 (01:35:24):
Yeah, I think Casey Mice had more wins than he did,
and I know that that can be very misleading. Being
a starting pitcher and all that other stuff that can
be very very misleading. All I'm saying it, Well, it can't, No,
I'm serious. I sometimes we get a little bit too
caught up in certain statistics. You've said that on a
regular basis. But I just want people to know. And
he won eighteen games last year, which is really good

(01:35:46):
led the league. I just want people know that's no
twenty game winner. And when you're looking at complete games.
If I'm going to pay four hundred million dollars for
a player, I want that player to be first of all,
I would expect them to PARTI debated more than nineteen
percent of his games. But also if he's going to
be a pitcher, he better thrown more than one complete game?

(01:36:07):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
Mare? Thanks?

Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
Is that asking too much? Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:36:11):
Preature right now?

Speaker 2 (01:36:12):
All right, go ahead, bud yep, you know.

Speaker 12 (01:36:14):
Shout out to Clinton and Harrington. On our first day back,
he decided to take a subscription and become a member.
So welcome to the Woodward cru Thank you for supporting us.
Thanks remember man, shout out and that happened during our show.
So that's that's pretty much a beautiful thing that makes
us feel good. Yeah, and let me see here Le Bartney.
He sent in a couple more of those super chats.
He says, I'm not gonna lie. The Twitch episodes were

(01:36:36):
lit once I found them. They were a little bit
easier to use. But there's no super chat. So he's
making the It was we're live on Twitch and YouTube
right now, but he decided I'm watching it all on
YouTube so I can support you.

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
Thank you, thanks all same.

Speaker 12 (01:36:47):
Yeah, and then he also says us he has something
for you, Chef. He says, look up the Cadillac Black
Wing Chef. That's the one ninety nine super chat from
Le Bartney.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
I will do that. I will do that. Is that
another way of saying I can't afford or belong in
that vehicle either. I don't blame You're proud about that.

Speaker 12 (01:37:05):
Okay, it's like the fort super Chat number three. Crown
in this chat today, says Brightlan.

Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
It's l s U. They never do anything right.

Speaker 12 (01:37:13):
Also, the FBI needs to investigate Adam Silver giving Dallas
the number one pick Cooper Flying one.

Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
Ever since he looked. It was something different about David Stern,
Like it's like you knew it, but you didn't care.
It was like head down. But Adam Silver is like,
and you did something and you just look like we
can we can call you out on it. You were
scared of David Stern. Adam Silver not so much. I
just because he had to because he had the boys
with the boys. Like people think I'm joking, not you ship.

(01:37:43):
People think I'm joking when I say that he had
the mind behind him. What the eighties stopped?

Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
Can I answer the simple question? And it's not that
I don't like it, because you know, I love basketball
and and and I can really I love the Pistons.
I can really appreciate what they're doing. If this is
a problem, and that's the reason I asked kool aid,
because he loves basketball, loves the NBA. If this is
a problem and it tarnishes the league, and there's so
many questions about it, whether it be Adam Silver, whether

(01:38:11):
it be even David Stern, be from why is it
so popular?

Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
Why is the league so popular?

Speaker 2 (01:38:16):
Well, when when you see Tim Donahey get in trouble,
you see Terry Rose, you're get in trouble, you get
Chauncey Billups in trouble, and you have all these things.

Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
Guy, you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
Krawdalized chronicled it very very well. Why is it so popular?
Because most people would think, I don't know what I'm
seeing right now.

Speaker 1 (01:38:37):
The game's going internationally, the game is going to international
and the players that you have, the excitement is still there,
and it's gambling now. It says it keeps the stays
of the course. I think people don't care.

Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
I agree. See, I agree with you. I don't think
they care either way. Yeah, I think that's a better
way to put it. I think they fake care. And
let's face it, I'm a hypocrite. I love watching the Pistons.

Speaker 4 (01:38:57):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
I love watching them play. It's not entertainment for me.
I understand's big business, but it still is to a
certain extent entertainment. I love what they're becoming. I hate
their new uniforms that they're going to debut, but I
love what they're becoming. And and to me, I like
watching teams grow. This team I can watch and grow
with it.

Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
Whatever waughtch you to the sport is going to keep
you in that sport. Regardless of what happens too. I
remember when things are going on in the NFL, and
some of it pertaining to it was what it was like,
and I remember a lot of my peoples.

Speaker 8 (01:39:26):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
Man, we're boycott the NFL. Bullshit. Look I do not
condone what they're doing. I don't believe you know, but
you can stand on the other side. I'm not not
watching the NFL, but I disagree with this, Like you
just ludicrous. You're those talk about start watching NFL. Y'all
weren't watching the first place. It goes back to that
fake razier. I'm sorry one I played in the NFL

(01:39:48):
two as happened to work in this space, So we'll
figure it out.

Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
Friends of mine say it all the time. Man, I
hate college sports. I'm not watching it anymore. I'm like, no,
you're not. Saturday afternoon, you're not just watching it. Sometimes
you're into those games. So there being these lancing r
stop that stop with the phone carry.

Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
I will say this, though, college football is really easy
to not watch, like if you're with the exception of
they when they sell you on something like I legitimately
didn't watch the Purdue Michigan game and I went to Michigan.
I'm telling you, like, it's easy to not have to
watch college college sucks. You get rare few moments like
the Indiana Penn Stay game where you got amazing play

(01:40:25):
where you're like, oh my god, I can't believe that
just happened. That reminds you of a couple of years
ago or whatever. College football I.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
Don't know, man, I enjoy it. I'm not gonna stop
watching it, and I can still complain about it, but
I'm still gonna watch it.

Speaker 12 (01:40:35):
Go ahead, buddy, Yeah, Look, we got one more in here,
and it might be the most important question of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
I do I seriously? I probably.

Speaker 6 (01:40:44):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
I like watching Georgia.

Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
Who plays with Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
I like I like watching Alabama who plays for Alabama?
Ty Simpson and a few others. I mean, I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:40:51):
I don't have to.

Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
I don't have to know every single player. I can
enjoy the sport as it is. I follow the local teams,
and I'm disappointed in Michigan State and I and I'm
happy for Michigan, but I can enjoy watching certain other teams,
you know. I mean I I watched Texas Tech and
b YU because you and I had the conversations last week. Right,

(01:41:15):
you came and I asked you. I said, do you
think by b Y you can win a national champ Nope.
I mean that was pretty quick answer. But I still
want to watch. They got blown out, they got trucked, right,
That's why they're basketball team that's ranked in the top ten.
It's so important.

Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
The best thing about b YU is the mascot cougar
doing the dances. That's the best thing.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
About It's interesting helmets. They had some interesting helmets in
that game against.

Speaker 4 (01:41:41):
Ars.

Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
Mascots is probably shut Jim McMahon. He shout out Steve, thanks, yes,
well done. Yeah, oh no, thank you.

Speaker 12 (01:41:49):
But you have to start getting pictures with all of
these mascots and statues b because like you versus like
the that's that's.

Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
Part of the statue. Like I had fun, that's part
of the statue. Like my favorite picture I think I've
ever taken.

Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
That was cool.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Shout out Luke Staley.

Speaker 4 (01:42:03):
Go ahead, I see Greg Thomas.

Speaker 12 (01:42:04):
He just sent in another superchouse about to read his
last one that he sent in another one.

Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
Shout out Greg.

Speaker 12 (01:42:11):
The first question might be the most important one, he says, Braylan,
how do you keep such a perfect beard? And the
second one is tell me a team better than the Lions.

Speaker 14 (01:42:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
The answer that is the Rams, and I appreciate that.
It's just the genetics it comes with being Edwards. My
dad a great, great beard, great line.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Well you get, you get trimmed everything.

Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
I have a really good barber. Shout to my boys
as well as the barbaria.

Speaker 15 (01:42:36):
J D.

Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
There you go, said, two barbers, one beard. That's not bad.
You said the Rams, that was pretty good. What about Seattle?

Speaker 1 (01:42:44):
Well, he said, tell me one team, one team. There's
a couple, but I just didn't want Would you say
the Patriots? Yes right now?

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
Yeah, okay. Would you say Denver?

Speaker 1 (01:42:54):
No? Absolutely, so I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
Would you say Philadelphia?

Speaker 1 (01:42:59):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Okay. You might change your mind Sunday night. But we've
got at least three teams, the Patriots, the Rams, yes,
the Seahawks yes. What about the Colts?

Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
So there's four teams you got that could be a
slight glimpse into Braylyn's top five this week. We will
have that later in the week. We hope you can
join us tomorrow as our week continues on the Berlin
