The Woodwards Sports Network where sports comes to life.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
We can get it.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Gang.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Uh oh, it's the number one.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
See what this is talking about?

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Henny on second down and six in overtime fakes to
Martin buyers underneath Edward's on a screen cutting inside of
the sixteen yard eyed power right Max Martin mitail back
quick draw Edwards. He shakes him out at the twenty,
up the tideline fifteen, bucks him out at the ten,
gets down to the seven and out of mountains Michigan.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
Get it to a playmaker. You always seventy six.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
He did the block Timmy, and Henny looks up for
Edwards to cut by.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Hey, take it.

Speaker 7 (01:41):
What Henny puts it up Edward the.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Mean he's all game.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
Here's Henny back to throw and he look and he's
firing out a post.

Speaker 8 (02:15):
Cut Edward's happening. Fire looks out, well.

Speaker 9 (02:23):
Sit back inside on a post and he gets by
Hayes and then breaks over the middle of Henny through
an absolute striking.

Speaker 10 (02:49):
With the score, the year, where it was at and
what the opponent was, eight forty one, I recognize that.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, that was a great game.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Man.

Speaker 10 (03:01):
There's no parallel universe, as they say in Marvel, There's
none of that where Michigan doesn't beat the doors off
this Michigan State team.

Speaker 11 (03:17):
I think, I do think, I do think Ryan and
kool Aid were right yesterday. You could play that on
a loop on a regular basi and it's that good.
Welcome everybody to a Friday edition of the Brailn Edwards Show.
That is fantastic and look it out when ends right
there with a beautiful look of Braylan staring down Sparty
like this, and the other night.

Speaker 10 (03:37):
In the words of the great Detroit Pollet Ha ha Davis,
goat man, goat man. Yeah, that's me. What's going on?
Lazy them? You know it's Friday. I'm excited. It's my
favorite day of the week, not only because Michigan and
Michigan State they get to play each other again tomorrow.
Ninetiast Lansing, but you know what it is, it's Smoothie
King High School.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
I love this.

Speaker 11 (03:56):
This is gonna be awesome and what an impressive young man.
Also two thirty, we will visit with TJ. Duckett, a
good friend, Jalen Edwards and Mischig. He'll give us the
Mission State perspective. It'll be a fun conversation with two
guys who have still proud of their school but able
to put that aside and continue the friendship throughout the years.
I think it's awesome.

Speaker 10 (04:17):
Man, Like when you enter a brotherhood just with the
sport alone, when you do the same thing, you go
through the same things. You guys are brothers in arms.
You understand that. But then when you can grow up
in life and you move on and you start doing
things together for bigger causes, things that are bigger than yourself.
One thing I love about Lloyd Carr. You always told
me find something greater than yourself to give yourself too.
That was always Lloyd's words, and the Ronald McDonald house

(04:39):
and the word the TJ. Duckett is doing for the
last three years is definitely something greater than myself.

Speaker 11 (04:43):
Do you think most of your your teammates and most
of your closest friends did that, took his advice and
went with that and did it literally like you do.

Speaker 10 (04:53):
To be honest, Yes, Because Lloyd Carr was He was
a great man. He was a great coach, he was
a great leader. And I think the things that happened,
they didn't necessarily hit you right away. Yeah, they didn't
necessarily hit you right when you left school. Maybe they
didn't even hit you in your thirties. But because of
the words, because of the conviction, and because of be
a Michigan man, the things that I was taught, eventually
it does hit all the individuals that I've seen And

(05:14):
because obviously had a loss and saw a lot of
guys doing well, look healthy, they're doing the right things,
they're married, the kids, they got them going the right way.
I think a lot of Lloyd said translated into us,
and we were able to regurgitate it at different points
about life.

Speaker 11 (05:27):
Yeah, I would say you do that on a prety
regular basis. Obviously don't know you, like your teammates to
know you. But the little things in life I think matter,
and how you treat people a certain way does matter.
You can disagree with you all you want, but how
you treat people, the respect you give the little things
like you bought flowers for the young ladies who bring
us water on a regular basis. Didn't have to do that,

(05:49):
and you don't want recognition for those are the best
kinds of people. When you're telling well, you know, somebody's
got to say it, you know what I'm saying. I
used to say that a lot about certain athlete in
this town who wore different uniforms, and people would complain
about them, and I'm like, hold on a second, now,
do you know this person did this? And they said, no,
I didn't. That wasn't in the media exactly, because the

(06:12):
best way to do it, the best way to give
is when you're not looking for that notoriety and you
do that pretty regularly. Let's get to the we're ready
for the Smoothie King. Come on, man, I'm really excited
about this because I love learning about new people and
I love the I need the confidencing young people to
make sure our country is headed in the right direction,

(06:32):
and I think with Demarian erlin Beck, we are doing that.
He is a senior quarterback, cornerback, kick return of mister
Everything for Clio High School and he is with us
as the Raylan Edwards Show Smoothie King high School Player
of the Week, and we pick it up with the
young man, Demarian erlin Beck. How are you, sir?

Speaker 10 (06:52):
I'm good, are you hey?

Speaker 11 (06:53):
We're doing fantastic. I appreciate it. I loved learning more
about you. And I know last year at your juniors
and wasn't what you expected. You called it a journey.
What did you learn last year from some of the
struggles that allowed you to lead Clio to their best
starts since nineteen ninety six at four and oh this year?

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Honestly, the weight room.

Speaker 12 (07:15):
The weightroom played a big factor in last year's season.
We didn't have nearly as much kids as we did
this year attending summer workouts or really doing anything over
the summer to stay active, and it showed when we
got into season.

Speaker 10 (07:29):
Hey, Dubrian, one thing that we love and congratulations again. Man,
We're glad to have you as a Spooli King High
School athlete. We glad to have you on the show.
If you're gonna have a plus two, I mean, if
you're gonna have a plus one in the video. Come
on now, you gotta do an introduction, So take your time.
Introduce your guys. Come on, yeah, I'll put you off.

Speaker 13 (07:44):
This is my girlfriend of a year and nine days.
Her name is Brooklyn.

Speaker 10 (07:49):
What's up, Brooklyn?

Speaker 11 (07:51):
Hi?

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Brother?

Speaker 10 (07:53):
Respect and the cheer team. Okay, respect. So she's an
athlete as well. Cheer is an important sport. It is
athletes as well. Congratulations on that. Thanks know what I'm saying.
So Jamario, look man, you are a Smoothie King High
School Athlete of the Week. What you win in that
you get a You'll get a gift card that will
allow you access to Smoothies all of twenty twenty six.
We do the Smoothie King twelve. I want to say

(08:15):
when this is over in three week period, you're work four.
We got eight weeks to go. At the end of that,
there will be a party for all of you guys,
you get your swag, bads, you get your cards, and
you'll be able to turn up in twenty twenty six.
But one of the things that Smoothie King does, it's
about energy, It's about refueling, it's about putting the proper
things into your body. You talk about the weight room,
talk about your journey as it relates to health and
what got you you say the weight room switch that

(08:38):
flip flip that switch this year. Talk about how you
incorporate a little bit of healthy eating as well.

Speaker 13 (08:43):
Well, honestly, anyways, nott a big fast food guys.

Speaker 12 (08:51):
I mean occasionally, yeah, comes in the hand, but more
of a steak and salad guy, I think I get
a salad just smell every Friday before a game, so
or some type of cards and protein.

Speaker 10 (09:05):
Of so respect. Let's go on this football field tomorrowing
you twelve hundred yards rushing thus far this year. Let
me add another eight of that and give you all
that you've done. And also four in and seventy yards
passing and you're four and oh just talk about your
team for a second, like, what is allowing you guys
to have this success, this success and what is contributed
to it?

Speaker 7 (09:22):
Man.

Speaker 12 (09:23):
Our offensive line has stepped it up this year. I
mean last year, I think I was sacked more time
than I could count. I don't think they allowed a
single sacked in the first four.

Speaker 10 (09:34):
Or five games, Big fellas.

Speaker 13 (09:36):
I think I've been sacked maybe twice this year.

Speaker 11 (09:40):
I love that you're willing to give a lot of
credit to other people, but you deserve a lot of credit.
Your head coach, Adam Clark said recently that it's about
a trust factor and how much he trusts you, and
how much this entire team trust you. When do you
feel that was formed most? When was that strengthening of
the bond besides the offseason?

Speaker 13 (10:01):
Honestly, I think the first game. I mean I was
after the first drive of the first.

Speaker 12 (10:07):
Game, I was called that I fumbled the ball, but
I mean, it's not my call, so I can only
say so much about it. But I apologize to the team,
and I told them that they're gonna have to trust
me that we're gonna get the ball back no matter
what happens, We're gonna go score and we're gonna end
up on top at the end of the game. And
sure enough, I mean, the score ship speaks for itself.

Speaker 10 (10:28):
I want to give a special shout out to Lee
Foundation making this possible. Lee provides twoent athletes with the
tools to excel in reaching their academic athletic goals as
they impact their community. So we appreciate our partnership with
Lee as well. Talk about going into the season last season,
Shop alluded to you didn't necessarily have the season, team
didn't have the season that you wanted to. But here
you guys are your four and zher. What was the

(10:48):
mindset coming into this season? What was the thought process
on where you guys can go on? How would you
get there?

Speaker 13 (10:54):
Honestly, the thought process was we're already at the bottom
and there's only one way to go.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
It's fair well.

Speaker 12 (11:01):
They took it, they took it as a wake up
call and it's just it's impressive to see.

Speaker 13 (11:08):
How much one year can really change a team.

Speaker 12 (11:11):
I mean, from nine to Florida start to fighting for
a spot in the playoffs.

Speaker 13 (11:16):
I mean, it's honestly a dream.

Speaker 10 (11:17):
Come drill, Tomarron. What makes you special? And it's okay
to take your time with but what makes That's why
I saw the smile. It's okay to take your time.
You can talk about yourself. You seem like you're a
very humble young man in the whole nine yards. But
what makes you special? H Do I need to ask
Brooklyn to answer that question? Brooklyn, we're gonna, we're gonna,

(11:39):
we're gonna phone. There'll give you a better answer, Brooklyn.
What makes your boyfriend of a year, Tomarion? What makes
him special?

Speaker 14 (11:49):
Makes some special?

Speaker 15 (11:52):
He every game, if he loses, he's the first one.
He would be the only one crying, even if and.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
You want to, And.

Speaker 15 (12:03):
He will put all the blame on himself even though
it's not his fault. And I feel like that makes
him special because he knows it's not his fault, but
at the same time, he'll blame it all on himself
instead of blaming it on his teammates.

Speaker 11 (12:17):
So unselfish, very cool. I'll tell you this, A bigger
reason why I think he's the Smoothie King High School
Player of the Week is not just because of what
he does on the field, but because of what he
does off it. And I thought that's where Brooklyn might
be going, and maybe she would have, and I interrupted her,
But I think this is where he is really special
in the community. He's out there on a regular basis,

(12:39):
tossing to kids, throwing footballs, doing the little things that
young leaders are supposed to be and really gives people health.
But not everybody does it. And yet he does it.
He's playing catch and he's talking to them. Where does
that stem from him? Why do you think it's so important?

Speaker 12 (12:56):
I mean, I think it's important because, I mean giving
back to the community. After seeing everybody out there supporting
our team on Friday nights, it's the least I can do,
generally go out support everybody else what they gotta do,
support the young kids.

Speaker 13 (13:11):
I mean, it's not like I got anything better to
do anyways.

Speaker 12 (13:14):
So I mean, like coach youth wrestling a little bit too,
So I'm kind of always just kind of always there
around the kids and it's just nice to see everybody smile.

Speaker 11 (13:23):
Oh you are you a wrestler?

Speaker 10 (13:24):
I saw the tea shirt says, so wait a minute, because.

Speaker 11 (13:29):
Usually the wrestlers are the big nasties up front. I
mean that's where the coaches want. They want defensive lineman
and offensive lineman as as wrestlers. How does that work
where you're wrestling as that tough guy and yet you're
playing what many would consider a pretty position at quarterback.

Speaker 10 (13:46):
Oh, he smiled. They'll call the young man pretty.

Speaker 13 (13:54):
I mean, you can call it a pretty position.

Speaker 6 (13:57):
That's fair.

Speaker 13 (13:58):
But but I'm on the other side of the line.
I'm running towards you. It's not a pretty sight. I'm
not gonna lie there.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
I like that.

Speaker 13 (14:04):
Definitely not shy of contact.

Speaker 11 (14:07):
H We see it in sports all the all the time.
Now we have dual athletes. We see show Tani that's extreme,
but still dual athletes. We've seen guys like Dionne Sanders
and Bo Jackson and so on and so forth. Uh
do you enjoy playing offense or defense? And where do
you envision yourself at the next level in what position?

Speaker 12 (14:25):
I mean, honestly, I didn't enjoy them both. I don't
really have a favorite when it comes to that. I mean,
I guess I'd have to pick quarterback because I feel
like I'm more in control of everything.

Speaker 13 (14:34):
I don't have to worry about something else happening.

Speaker 12 (14:38):
I know what I can control is what I can't,
So I guess quarterback would probably my go to when
it comes to all offense. But I also don't mind safety.
I get the same thing as kind of quarterback, get
a whole view of the field.

Speaker 11 (14:51):
Sure, I mean, well, you're a leader. I mean, and
that's you. You can lead, but at the quarterback position
it's a little more difficult sometimes at the other one
for me. And then Bringland will finish things up. You
do have one hundred eight yards rushing. You have four
hundred and eighty yards passing. Do you view yourself as
a running quarterback or a passing quarterback? Who can run?

Speaker 10 (15:13):
M hm, solid question, very solid question.

Speaker 13 (15:18):
I'm gonna go more of a running quarterback, but more
of a run set offense.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Okay, I can definitely throw the ball when it's.

Speaker 13 (15:25):
Needed it that way.

Speaker 10 (15:27):
The man said he could spin that pill as well.
I appreciate that. Look, man, we're gonna switch it up
a little bit and have some fun. Two questions for me,
and then we're gonna let you go. I know you
have a game today, uh lake View, correct, lake will
excuse me. First question, who in the sport of baseball, football,
or wrestling? Who are the motivating factors for you? Who
individuals that you looked at like I like this. I

(15:49):
want to take a little bit of that. I can
do a little bit of this. Who are the individuals
that maybe inspires you in these sports.

Speaker 12 (15:55):
Well, for my freshman year, there is a scene in
your name. Jacob Morris, He's definitely been.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Don't give me that look.

Speaker 12 (16:02):
He's definitely been something that I looked up to for
quite a while. He also played football, he wrestled, he
played baseball. He kind of took me under his wing,
kind of like a little brother.

Speaker 13 (16:14):
So he's definitely been. He's definitely been a key factor
and a lot of it.

Speaker 12 (16:19):
He's always been around to help man, So he's definitely
definitely a big reason why. And then just of course
the coaches along the way. I mean, yeah, we've had
a lot of coaching switch ups for football, but there
hasn't been a time where there hasn't been a coach
that hasn't given up on men.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
So this this one sticks a lot.

Speaker 10 (16:39):
I appreciate that. Just listening to your answers, Man, the
fact that you would pick a teammate others three years older,
you kind of took you under his wing. I can
emulate that.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Man.

Speaker 10 (16:46):
Ron Johnson, who played University of Minnesota, was three years
older than me. He took me under his wing and
he was cold. Yeah, I want to do everything and
be like Ron and do all the things. But he
allowed me to and he valued me along that path.
Ron actually is a chef. He's the eleventh terms of
tech stowns and yards. He's the level all time bigs
to history. Too bad, big, his little brother had to
be second thing. This is for you and Brooklyn. Okay,

(17:08):
concert of your choice, Brooklyn, you can answer first, concert
of your choice. Who you're choosing? Where we going, who
we're going to see?

Speaker 4 (17:16):
I know.

Speaker 10 (17:18):
You know what's on the tunes, what's in the car
listening to? Okay, here we go.

Speaker 11 (17:28):
All right, this is solid rock solid.

Speaker 10 (17:31):
You're up next to Marion. Who are you going to see?

Speaker 13 (17:34):
We're going to a Metallica concert?

Speaker 16 (17:36):
Okay, God, I love this kid. I want him in
studio enter sand Man right now. That that's stunned me.

Speaker 10 (17:48):
So now you guys are going to concert you I'll
pick yep absolutely little step brothers.

Speaker 11 (17:55):
I love that, I absolutely love Can I just see
one more?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Things?

Speaker 10 (17:59):
Go ahead?

Speaker 11 (17:59):
When? Because I could talk to him all day now.
When you look at baseball, football and wrestling, who's the
best baseball player you've ever seen play? Who's the best
football player you've ever seen play? And who's the best
wrestler that you've ever heard of? And you can include
Dan Gable if you want, if you've ever heard of him?
Who rustled at Iowa, staying them one national titles at Iowa.

(18:22):
I'm not trying to feed you information.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Kurt Angle.

Speaker 11 (18:26):
Is wwe reel. No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 10 (18:28):
Go ahead. The Olympic medal is Kurt Angle.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
And then w w A.

Speaker 11 (18:32):
So it was real, go ahead, it was I'm gonna
go with that.

Speaker 12 (18:34):
Actually, Olympic medal, Kurt Angle, let's go. Best baseball player
has got to be right now, genuine best football player
I've ever seen.

Speaker 13 (18:47):
Man, he's on the screen. He's over there.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Now.

Speaker 11 (18:52):
He just became best friends. That that hey, that Trump's Metallica.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
I got it.

Speaker 10 (18:56):
He may be on the show.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
He has moxie.

Speaker 17 (18:59):
Man, dude, he could fill.

Speaker 11 (19:01):
In any time he wants.

Speaker 10 (19:03):
The Man, the Man. The man knows how to play
the game. He does, Brooklyn, you better watch out. Man
man knows how to play the game. Are you getting looks?

Speaker 13 (19:14):
I am going to complay that.

Speaker 11 (19:15):
Okay, Well, we're gonna follow you and we're going to
root for you for sure, and we appreciate everything you do.
Right now, not just for Clyyle High School, but for
that community. What's the best Metallica song? I mean, just
you know, now that we're dead, what is it?

Speaker 18 (19:30):
What?

Speaker 11 (19:30):
What's the best Metallica tune?

Speaker 13 (19:33):
Entersting Man wherever I may roam, sad.

Speaker 10 (19:35):
But true, he's serious.

Speaker 11 (19:38):
He's got the Black Album in his mind right now. Man,
Good stuff, man, appreciate it. Congratulations continued success and you
say good look to that. Amen to that, and you
deserve to be the Breilan Edwards Smoothie King High School
Player of the week. Wait to go, man, good luck?

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Thanks?

Speaker 11 (19:55):
Wow, that was fun that. That was a lot of fun.
You know, I enjoy Bilin's play down, I really do. Okay,
I'm going to enjoy t J. Duckett here in about
ten minutes. That was a lot of fun. That was
a lot of fun right there.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
It was.

Speaker 11 (20:10):
And this is good job man.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
You know what, You're four for four.

Speaker 11 (20:14):
You are four for No. I'm serious, you're four for
four in picking guys. Anybody can pick the numbers. You're
picking the right people. These are people who represent their school,
their class, their team, and the back of their jersey
the right way. Good job.

Speaker 10 (20:30):
I appreciate that. But also, man, it's it's it's the
Lee found it's the lead. Excuse me, it's the Lee
Foundation as well.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
This movie came.

Speaker 10 (20:36):
But also the one thing is the community too. It's
the community aspect. These kids that we're talking to, man,
excuse me, These young adults that we're talking to, they're
working in their communities, they're doing the little things. Man,
it's gonna make them leaders for the future to come.
And this world needs great leaders. It always has, it
always will. And I'm glad that.

Speaker 11 (20:52):
We get this. I am too. Thank you for this.
Think about it. If you're seventeen years old, what were
you doing after football? I'm not gonna lie, man, after
football practice, I'm going to seven to eleven. I'm getting
a big gulp. I'm going home and I'm hanging out
with my buddies. Okay, you know what he's doing. He's
going to the little league football games and he's throwing
to these kids. And then he's going and talking to

(21:14):
these kids and he's making a difference. That's called leadership. Okay.
That gives us a lot of hope, a lot of
hope for the future. All right, stay with us when
we come back in the Britlan Edwards Show. We will
be talking with TJ.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Duckett.

Speaker 11 (21:27):
He's going to join us to talk about Michigan State
and Michigan. It's going to be a lot of fun
this weekend. He hopes it's going to be closer than
a lot of people think. Will wonder why and ask
him why. But after this from Smoothie King rightfully, so.

Speaker 10 (21:40):
You know it's time manas man loves Coolie King. I
love what they allow us to do in this space.
But also too, it's more than just that. It's the
menu that is revamp and rebrand and clean ingredients, real
fruit and protein to help you refuel. They help me refew.
They're gonna help Na Marion arelenback refew as well because
he'll get that gift card where he can use all
of twenty twenty six. Check this out, man, don't mintion

(22:01):
it every Friday the Brotherin Network Smoothie King High School
Athlete of the Week. As you see it is doing
great things in this community and we want to get
better and better and bigger and bigger. Nominatum today, you

(26:10):
with the Braylen's friend. A good guy, really good, really
good player. Last night, I'm sure you did. We all
watch the Chargers game. Look, once the Red Wings are
down before nothing out loud, that piece of crap game
against the Islanders, So you've got to switch to the
football game and stay there, right, did everybody watch it?

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Okay?

Speaker 11 (26:28):
So the Chargers clearly better than the Vikings. Here's one
thing I noticed justin Jefferson makes a really nice catch
along the sideline, rolls out of bounds. JJ McCarthy with
his ear piece in hops over him like he's playing
Hopscotch back in grade school. Didn't look like a high
ankle spraying to me at all. And then the other
thing I wanted to ask you because I almost texted

(26:50):
you this last night, Carson went Kevin O'Connell, what he
did to Carson Wentz is is borderline criminal. I mean,
that poor kid, that poor dude was just absolutely beat
up left and right and just stayed out there for
the sacrificial wham.

Speaker 10 (27:05):
Kevin O'Collins former teammate of mine, and everything that he's
done has been you know, hats off with his time
in Minnesota as a head coach. You know, you give
him all the kudos he deserves Coach of the Year.
The things, the things, and everything that he's done has
been great. I can agree with you that last night. Look,
your two tackles were out of this game, and the
offensive line has been struggling. Carson Wentz is be getting
sacked at an exponential rate, and everybody wants to blame

(27:27):
Carson Wentz because oh he's doing spin moves in the
pocket and all this crazy stuff. That's because these guys
have been breathing down his neck, man for the better
part of the last four or five weeks. So last
night he's legitimately playing through a shoulder, he's playing through
a trice up, he's playing through all these things, and
he's getting beat up. Like the fact that you saw
Carson Wentz run to the right, do a spin move
hesy and throw a pop fly like he's not that

(27:48):
bad at a quarterback like this is called desperation because
there's nowhere to go. So Kevin O'Connell left him in
the game. It was a little bit negligent, but it
leads to what are the backup quarterbacks? Looking back, speaking
on what you spoke about, I think JJ had it
had an ankle spring in week two, but I don't
think it was that series of an ankle spray. And
I think once he got healthy, whether it was week

(28:08):
three or week four, I think it has been a
delayed process to let's go with the guy who's a
veteran and he can figure this thing out. Also, too,
is this Kevin O'Connell trying to save JJ McCarthy from
what this offensive line is? And if that is the case,
then this is who you and I should have drafted.

Speaker 11 (28:25):
Yeah, and although we drafted in the last year Max Brosmer,
who Max Prosmer out of Minnesota, that was your number two.
That's two weeks in a row now where JJ McCarthy
has been the emergency quarterback from Minnesota, and that tells
me that he could play.

Speaker 10 (28:43):
You were talking about Justin Jefferson, and I think TJ
is on the line, so we'll jump into it. I
don't want to have my brother hold up too long,
but listen to this. For all that's made about when
people do things the wrong way, especially wide receivers, like
the media, including us, was so quick to want to
talk about the receiver d was this complaining about the ball.
Aj Brown has been in the media in the last

(29:03):
two years in terms of the antics and what he's doing.
We don't talk about the ones that do it the
right way. Justin Jefferson. You ring his name up. Justin
Jefferson's played with how many quarterbacks the last four years?
How many situations, how many terrible situations has he been in?
How many times where he's legitimately been the best receiving
league arguably I think Chase is. But he's right there.
If you say him, I wouldn't disagree, and he says

(29:24):
nothing like legitimate, goes out there and makes the catches,
had no catches in the first quarter again, because this
has been a consistent thing. Found some catches here or there,
even in the fourth quarter. Whenever they throw them the ball,
if it's a decent throat, he finds it, he catches it,
He goes back to the sideline, He chills, he talks,
like talk to him, He does stuff in the community,
like he cares about the game. So like for and

(29:46):
I agree about the aj brown stuff, I agree, but
I agree about this too. Showed his brother some love
because he could in this era for what he is,
how good he is, how great he is, what he
means to this game. He could be a whole nother
piece of work on that sideline, He could be a
whole other piece of work in the media. And he
is so at the end of the day, you want
to talk about what people do wrong, talk about when
people do stuff right.

Speaker 11 (30:07):
Amen to that. Yeah, he'll and he does do it right,
I mean, and he gives back a ton and he
is I don't know the man, but he seems like
he's he's just a really good dude. You can't argue
you're a moron if you're arguing that Justin Jefferson isn't
a really good player.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Okay, you are.

Speaker 11 (30:23):
You don't watch football. That's number one. Number two. The
only thing I would say is last year, pretty damn
good year. You didn't talk about Sam Donald all they want.
He's had another good year this year. He was good
enough last year to win fourteen games. Doesn't do it
without Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson would be fine with another quarterback.
But Sam Donald was decent. But I hear your point.
I think you're right about that. So let's welcome in

(30:44):
your good friend. TJ. Duckett really enjoyed watching him play
at Michigan State. Was super proud that he played as
long as he did in the NFL seven years for
Atlanta and Detroit and Seattle. And I know he's a
proud Spartan and he welcomes us. On the day before
Michigan Michigan State, t J. Duckett is here with us
on the BRAILN Edwards Show.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
TJ.

Speaker 11 (31:04):
Thanks for the time. How are you today?

Speaker 6 (31:07):
I'm doing great, great, you look good man.

Speaker 10 (31:12):
Get to see you, Moses.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
So so this is what we have.

Speaker 11 (31:15):
We have the we have the tight beard in Braylin
and we have the dry, full beard in t J. Duckett.

Speaker 10 (31:20):
You know, if you've grown that up, I know what
it was not to cut him up? Is minus is big?
When I said, last couple of years, I've had the
big beard. Every time I see t J.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
A k A.

Speaker 10 (31:29):
Todd, only certain people can call him that. I looked
at his I was like, yeah, I got nothing coming,
and I think, and then retired to the man right here.

Speaker 11 (31:39):
That's interesting. Yeah, not many people can call you Todd Jeffrey.

Speaker 6 (31:42):
Who can?

Speaker 11 (31:43):
Who gets away with that? I would guess mom and
sisters are close.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
Yeah, you know I would. I would say, uh yeah,
people close to me and get away with the whole name.

Speaker 9 (31:53):
Okay, No, this second, this part of my life where
I'm at now, God for government, you don't know me.

Speaker 6 (31:59):
That's how I'm introduced myself. Oh you do?

Speaker 11 (32:02):
You introduce yourself as Todd?

Speaker 17 (32:04):
Yeah, oh that's interesting Todd Jeffrey.

Speaker 9 (32:07):
I mean back back in twenty eleven, man, when I
was depressed, down and out, trying to figure out what
my life was about. I started over. I started going
by Todd. Todd had no wins, no losses, Todd didn't
have anything done. And that's where I started building who
I am now. I started building that platform from there,
building my new identity because the football TJ all these things, yeah,

(32:31):
didn't stirred me anymore, and I couldn't get stuck there.

Speaker 11 (32:33):
I loved deep before we dive into the football.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
It is deep.

Speaker 10 (32:36):
It's definitely deep. This is why I love my brother.
That's why I was showing it from always before we
dive into the football field and regaling with tails in
this game tomorrow, talk about the Ronald McDonald House. To
battle the houses, talk about kind of how you got
into it a little bit, and just talk about like
what it means to you.

Speaker 6 (32:50):
Yeah, yeah, battle for the houses. This is our year three.

Speaker 9 (32:54):
Back in twenty twenty two, my son, our son was
born with his heart was under develops, and before that
we were volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. We were
making dinners, helping clean there. And then when my son
was born, this way my family, we ended up being
patients at the Ronald McDonald House. We had to actually

(33:15):
check in. My wife was spending time there while I
would be back in Lancing taking care of our kids,
and she could be right next to the bed, right
next to my child, our child, while he was having
his heart surgeries and still get that comfort, still get
that love. So having volunteered here in the one in
mid Michigan and had gotten services.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
With the one in ann Arbor, wondering how can we
help and how can we give back?

Speaker 9 (33:41):
I'm a man of giving and a man of service
and being able to help both these two houses.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
I mean when we.

Speaker 9 (33:47):
First had to realize we had to go there, I mean,
I know they're gonna help us and save us, but
it's in ann Arbor, you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
It's not I don't just go there.

Speaker 10 (33:58):
Leisurely to hang enemy Lyne.

Speaker 6 (34:01):
For being there and the way that.

Speaker 9 (34:03):
The doctors saved our child, the way that the house
took care of our family and figuring out how can
we give back and just it naturally kind of came
in driving one day and my wife and I how
can we create a way to help bring them funds
and exposure, And I mean we wrapped it around this

(34:23):
rivalry and being able to have the House of mid
Michigan versus the House of ann Arbor. Whoever wins, whoever
has the most volunteer hours or donations by the time
the clock hit zero zero in that game on Saturday
gets the small Paul the small Traveling Paul Bunyan Trophy,
and Braylan so thankfully has been to. We had this

(34:46):
thing called a press conference where legends from both schools
get to come in and wherever the home game is,
it's usually on site in that city. And Braylan's been
at all three of them every single year. He's always
in his time. He's always given amazing energy and you know,
we got a rivalry. There is a rivalry now it is,

(35:07):
it's a real thing. But it's so amazing to be
able to share this. And Mike Martin is who he's
captain of Team Blue. So when this was all getting started,
I gave I reached out to Mike Martin and asked
would he be willing to get involved?

Speaker 6 (35:22):
And I mean he jumped right in and so he
represents Team Blue.

Speaker 9 (35:26):
He's gotten bralliant Braylean involved since Braylan has never left
and he's always been a huge supporter. So you know,
I appreciate you for for always being involved with for
all your help and just thank you.

Speaker 11 (35:39):
That's really emotional, man, I mean I can I can
feel that with you, and I always feel it with Brailn.
Kudos to you guys. Thanks for being leaders, Thanks for
being true role models. I like to ask this question
of athletes who grow up and are, whether you like
it or not, your role models for kids who loved
watching you play, how is being dad and then being

(36:01):
involved in this Ronald McDonald house for you changed your
life in general?

Speaker 6 (36:06):
And maybe.

Speaker 9 (36:08):
I mean that's the uh you know this, That's how
I got into this so much is because I was
a dad and my son was born a certain way
and our family had to figure some things out.

Speaker 6 (36:26):
I mean, you you go, you go. My wife, My
wife went to get it just a normal ultrasound. We
we already have four kids, so this is our fifth one.

Speaker 9 (36:35):
So she's just going to get a normal ultrasound and
they find something and then they tell her, you know,
they ask her does she want to keep it? And
it's like, that's not what you expect to hear. And
then to have to then you just to to have
to go a different process for him to enter the
earth along with the things that he's gone through to

(36:58):
be here. I mean, he's three years old and he's
already had three heart surgeries. And to know that today
another family has gotten that same news and they're gonna
have to go through this and tomorrow that they're gonna
get that same news another family. But that's why Ronald
McDonald House Charities is so important, because when families like

(37:18):
ours gets this, this devastating news, they're able to provide love.
They're able to provide support when you can't even really
take care of yourself. They're able to show love to
you while the doctors can go and help save your child,
and you can be right there and if you need,
you know, five minutes to just cry, or five minutes

(37:40):
to just I don't know, brush your teeth, there's a
place for you to do that there. So this being
a you know, I love giving back. I love serving
the community. That's who I am. That's whore our family is.
That's what it means for me. But to do that
knowing my family has been directly involved, has benefited from
their services, and now we can help other families who

(38:04):
don't even know they're gonna need to go there, help
them get the same equally or greater service.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
That's what it's all about for me.

Speaker 9 (38:11):
And you know the lines of father and athlete and
whatever else people see or think they are or what
I think it is, it all blurs. When we all
need some help, when we all need to have that love,
when we all have to come together, all that blurs.
So it's about being a human being. It's about being
a person that cares for that person next to you.
No matter what color you are, blue green, we all

(38:34):
bleed red. We all know what love is, and we
all want to be here as long as possible.

Speaker 11 (38:38):
That's powerful.

Speaker 10 (38:40):
And move away, beautiful. Cashing burdens the lord, and you
move away, he will take care all. I appreciate that, man.
You know, my brother, I know how you get about that.
I want to give you the opportunity to talk about
that for a second. So what we'll do is we'll shoot.
We'll stop talking to Tide and we'll start talking.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
Let's go.

Speaker 10 (38:55):
Let's go, let's start talking. What's talking to TJ? We
gonna start talking to TJ. Tucky, you say, talk about
what this rivalry means too. I mean, you see what
the backwall is.

Speaker 6 (39:02):
We did this?

Speaker 10 (39:04):
Only take it?

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Take it.

Speaker 10 (39:05):
Take a gander what that is.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
You see what it is.

Speaker 10 (39:08):
You see what you did, You see what you mean
to this game. Talk about what this rivalry means to
you and how you were born and just like me.
You were born into this rivalry.

Speaker 6 (39:17):
Yeah, I mean this rivalry.

Speaker 9 (39:19):
Shit, I might get emotional this one too, and let's go,
let's go. But this rivalry it's everything. I mean this,
this rivalry is history. It's history. It's not hype, it's
not fake. This is this is deep down in the
DNA of both our universities. And to be able to
have a chance for when we were playing, Like for

(39:39):
me growing up, my brother Tico played, so I got
to see the rivalry as like I want to do that,
Like my brother did that, I.

Speaker 6 (39:47):
Want to do that too. But then also like seeing your.

Speaker 9 (39:51):
Neighbors, your family, your friends, how important that rivalry is.
And then to fast forward and actually get to play
in that rivalry and contribute, have an impact, and have
a play that forever will be a part of it.
It's a whole nother conversation how I feel about that, right,
And then to be done with it and to be
in the league and having these conversations with former players

(40:14):
from a different angle, that's one thing. And then like
you being a father and now you're taking your kid
to the game. I mean, this is it's blood, it's sweat,
it's tears, it's bragging rights, it's neighbor versus neighbor, family
versus family, and you get one day a year to
do it. You get one time, you get sixty minutes
to go do it. And that's gonna last for three

(40:37):
sixty four till forever. And I mean, you know, you
only have so many opportunities. And that's what it's all
about for me, and I love it.

Speaker 11 (40:46):
What is harder losing a game to that rival or
trying to gear back up after a loss and play
the next week.

Speaker 9 (40:56):
Losing, losing, losing, no matter what. I mean, it's it's
you know, that's the game you win or lose that
that's the game. Man. You know, if you lose next
week probably ain't gonna matter. You know, it's a different thing.
I mean, this is the game you get up for,
no matter, No records don't count. Again, we've all grown
up knowing each other for the moment. That's how it

(41:17):
used to be. You know, we used to we all knew.
I mean, freshman sophomore track meets basketball. You see who's
out there and you're looking it's signing day.

Speaker 6 (41:27):
Where they're going?

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Where you going?

Speaker 9 (41:28):
You know, you may call where y'all going what we're doing, no,
just and then all of a sudden, you know you
you literally are friends, and then you enter into your kingdoms.

Speaker 11 (41:42):
Something switches. There's a switch, right, yeah, three.

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Four years, it's a different field, and then you exit
the kingdom.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
You know.

Speaker 10 (41:52):
I like that saying, Look, I was gonna ask you
about the Michigan State game of two thousand and one.
I won't. I won't, I won't make any comments. I'm
gonna let you get your because you legitimately did your
thing two eleven game win a touchdown, Like you can
talk about all the things, so about what was clicking.
But before we went to a quick store, I legitimately
was in high school track me. This was the high

(42:13):
school indoor championships. Always TJ's knows where I'm going with
the story. I tell her all the time. We were
the high school indoor championships.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
It was in and Arbor.

Speaker 10 (42:20):
He was a senior and I was a freshman at
King High School. So I'm up there. He knows my dad,
who doesn't know stand. He's like, I'm talking to him
before his race because I know what he's doing, I
know the accolades, I know where he's going, Like I'm
just paying attention. I'm looking at all the recruiting and
all the things. So I go up to him and
I'm talking to him, and he called me a little stand.

Speaker 4 (42:38):
He was.

Speaker 10 (42:39):
He was like, what's up something?

Speaker 4 (42:41):
Right?

Speaker 10 (42:41):
Yeah, what's up? A little stand? I'm talking to him.
He's nonchalantly stretching, nonchalantly warming up. These are the championships,
so these are the fastest times, either the best throws,
the best jumps, the best relays, whatever. And he's casually
talking to me like I'm talking about and at this
time TJ is probably six six foot two forty two
thirty five around him.

Speaker 11 (43:01):
That's big.

Speaker 10 (43:02):
Yes, that's what he was. That's two fifty two.

Speaker 6 (43:07):
The hell out of me.

Speaker 4 (43:08):
You know what?

Speaker 10 (43:08):
For the story. That makes it a lot better. He's
two fifty and I'm sitting here talking. He's warming up.
Proceeds to say, he said, all right, little Stam's good
talking to you. I gotta go go run real quick.
When's this? When's the sixty meter dash?

Speaker 11 (43:20):
At two fifty?

Speaker 6 (43:21):
Thank you?

Speaker 10 (43:21):
Thank you for at two fifty? When's the sixty meter dash?
And then I pick up the conversation maybe about forty
five minutes to an hour later, he's over in the
field events. He's just chilling. He's just up there chilling.
I'm talking to him, So you go on to state, like,
what's that gonna be? Like you, I'm asking questions because
I'm inspiring to go. And then same thing he's talking
to talking, and then he proceeds to say, hold on,

(43:43):
one second, Frosen shot put breaks the state record or
just under I think he broke the state indoor record
and then won that too, to win the sixty meters
dash and turn around and break the state record in
the shot put like that type those type of events
aren't mirrored together. They aren't pair with you. If you're running,
people don't do that. If you're running the sixty event,

(44:04):
you're long jumping, like if you're throwing the shot but
a track event, the catalon.

Speaker 11 (44:08):
In between, just talking to you like casually, Hey, what's
going on. I was thinking, it's not like he's in
some zone right Yeah.

Speaker 10 (44:15):
It was like, you know, I'll be right back, all right.
But that was the most amazing thing I had seen
and seen to this day. With that being said, TJ
talk about the two thousand and one game. What worked
for you, what worked for that squad, because two hundred
and eight yards and a touchdown to win it all
in that rivalry with that means it's a physical game.

(44:35):
Talk about what worked for you that night or that yeah, yeah,
that night, Yeah it was it was.

Speaker 6 (44:43):
It was everything, man. It was the next opportunity first
of all, to play.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
It was.

Speaker 6 (44:51):
It was a kind of a rough season starting out.

Speaker 9 (44:53):
But also I had lost my mom my freshman year,
and that particular game happened to fall on like her
birthday weekend on top of the year before that, I
had a fumble getting ready going in right before the half,
I had a fumble down there and they took it
and you know lost. So I still had that chip

(45:14):
on my shoulder. So going into this game, I mean,
this was like my Super Bowl of my whole entire life.
There was no game I thought about after every game before.
This all came to this moment this week right here.
And you know, I didn't know if I was leaving
school early or not, so this is like, either this

(45:36):
may be my last chance playing. I mean I ended
up leaving at the end of the year, so this
this was my last chance. So I went into that
game just with just with all just just the rage.
It's a very violent game.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
That game.

Speaker 9 (45:50):
I mean football itself is very violent. Yeah and physical.
I say physical, but that game is very violent. It
ticks up a little bit and it just that's the
mentality though, you have to have being a warrior going
into battle knowing you're about to get the ball twenty
plus times against them, and you want to win, like
you want to do everything you got, So every single

(46:13):
play was a statement, every single run was a statement.

Speaker 6 (46:16):
Everything miss meant something. I mean, there was a time I.

Speaker 9 (46:19):
Got tackled and I can't remember who it was, but
I mean was rolling over and had my ankle and
are you trying to do something? And I kick and
you know, I get a fifteen yard penalty. Like everything,
every moment mattered, literally, and you know, the game's going
back and forth and you know, we do something, they
do something. It's back and forth and you know, I
don't know exactly how much time, but like the last

(46:42):
our last drive, you know, it's we're down and it
gets it's fourth down and I don't know the order
this happens, but it's fourth down and Charles Rogers gets
past interference or yeah, pass interference or unnecessary roughness or
something extra downs. Okay, now it was fourth down again
and there's twelve people in the field. So there's time
when that game was like man, it's over.

Speaker 6 (47:03):
Oh we got a shot. I mean, so the roller
coaster of that time and then you.

Speaker 9 (47:07):
Know, move fast forward down to smoke running around and
dropping the clock with one second left.

Speaker 10 (47:14):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, that's why.

Speaker 21 (47:20):
You know.

Speaker 10 (47:20):
But you know what I will say about that though,
tz what I say, and I'll let you finish the moment.
But I'll say how I've always joked about the games
it's a spartan Vibe game, like yes, it's a spartan
Bob game, blah blah blah. However, we put ourselves in
that situation like you and I am glad it is.
We're wars. We understand in between the lines. Defense had
two situations where they gave you, guys, extra opportunities. That's

(47:41):
on us. They gave us, they gave you and even
giving you another opportunity, you still have to make the play.
So for as much as I cracked jokes about oh
they stopped the clock and blah blah blah, they did,
but we still had like we still put ourselves in
that situation, and you guys capitalize. So for all the joke, yeah, want,
there's no rivalry, there's a win. There's no aster behind that.

Speaker 9 (48:05):
Yeah yeah, And that's what I appreciate that it's always loved.
But that's that's what makes it the rivalry though, Like
that's what it's all about. But you know, now it's
it's And while this is all going on and the
clock's ticket, I'm on the side guard, so I'm like, man,
what is happening?

Speaker 6 (48:24):
And and then you know, pock stop. One play left.

Speaker 9 (48:27):
I'm jogging on the field thinking it's about to be
something up the middle of power like I'm about you know,
one yard run.

Speaker 6 (48:33):
And I'm split out.

Speaker 9 (48:35):
Now it's like wow, okay, So we running the same
play we had run previously.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
It was a slant.

Speaker 9 (48:40):
I caught it right on the previous first down, and
we try to run it again, and this time they
jumped it. So I kind of just floated in the
back of the end zone and I just started waving
my arms. I couldn't even see smoke at the time,
so I just see this football come up.

Speaker 6 (48:54):
Out of the pio man and this I just see.

Speaker 9 (48:56):
I mean, I can see it playing this day right now, boy,
and I just see it and it's just like froze
up there, it froze.

Speaker 6 (49:03):
It hung the whole crowd with silent time, like stopped.
And I'm just watching this ball.

Speaker 9 (49:09):
And and then at the same time, like Charles Rogers
is on the field too, so it's like, yeah, it's
like is it coming to me or him?

Speaker 6 (49:18):
Like who?

Speaker 9 (49:18):
Because what's happening? And you know it's coming closer to me.
Somebody jumps up in front of me and the ball
is getting higher and higher and he getting higher and
you know, next thing I know, man, the balls in
my lap and I'm just saying to myself, you know,
don't drop this. And before that, but before that, though,
like you, as a kid, I always had to dream

(49:39):
of and we all have it. It's to jump into
the couch, catching the football or something, jumping in some
leaves three two one, and as the huddle breaks, I'm
running out there like yo, this is that moment, like
this is really this ain't me in the living room,
Like this ain't me in the backyard, this is this
is the spot.

Speaker 6 (49:58):
So you know that's that was a but all of a.

Speaker 9 (50:01):
Sudden, man, that ball came, it hit my hands, the
whole crowd got loud, everything sped up, and I just
remember being on the bottom of that pile. Man, and
you talk about brotherhood, Just being on the bottom of
that pile and just hearing, hearing your boys, you know
they It was all excitement, it was all energy. Then

(50:21):
you get out the pile and it's like the crowd
just eruugh, I couldn't even all you can.

Speaker 6 (50:25):
All I can hear under the pole is my teammates.

Speaker 11 (50:28):
Yeah, you didn't pay for a drink for the rest
of the year, I would guess. I mean that is
it's an iconic moment. It's not just an iconic moment
for that game, it's an iconic moment for the entire series,
which tells you something. I asked this of Brailyn yesterday.
I'd like your perspective for guys who didn't grow up
playing against friends and knowing what the rivalry is all about,

(50:50):
somebody from out of town, how did you indoctrinate them
in quickly to what this game was about to be
in terms of physicality and emotion.

Speaker 6 (50:59):
Yeah, I mean it's it's it's it's it's hard to
do something like that.

Speaker 9 (51:03):
Quickly. First of all, you know it's it's tough, but
a couple of things. I mean, one, we all know
what what rivalry games are. We all know that we
all had them in high school and we've all had
him at some part, so.

Speaker 6 (51:15):
We understand what that means.

Speaker 9 (51:18):
But it's being able to adopt that the school's culture,
being able to adopt what the rivalry is and and
then merge your worlds, Like you chose to go to
that school, so making that choice to go, you signed up.

Speaker 6 (51:32):
You signed up.

Speaker 9 (51:33):
Now you gotta understand what it means and figure out,
you know, how does that I call them this, but
they call them this? And how does that going to
work for you? And if you a person who say
transfers in and is willing to stay multiple years, you
start to understand it each year a little bit better.

Speaker 6 (51:51):
All you got, dude, is playing it one.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
Game and you got it.

Speaker 6 (51:54):
You know what it is, So to say, how do
you do it?

Speaker 9 (51:58):
You know you can't have someone you can and tell
someone to to dislike the school because you just like him.

Speaker 6 (52:04):
That that's that that doesn't work really well. Connect the emotion.

Speaker 10 (52:10):
If you don't like state, don't like notre Dame.

Speaker 6 (52:14):
You can, like.

Speaker 9 (52:16):
Can connect the emotion to something that it's familiar. And
we're talking at people who are going to battle, not
someone who's you know, sitting on the couch at home,
but someone who's gonna put that thing on and walk
into this field and have to play with this emotion.
You better, you better connect something that make you feel
this way. Because the guy on the other side he connected,

(52:36):
he know, or he trying to do the same thing.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
You know.

Speaker 9 (52:39):
It's it's the same thing happening. And again it's it's
being able to connect to the history that you signed
up for when you put on that green and white.

Speaker 11 (52:48):
It's a good answer.

Speaker 10 (52:48):
Yeah, when you can't connect, you get your ass whooped.
And you saw that like you've seen it, Like Michigan
has been in spaces where we didn't connect, then we
got destroyed. For a while, Michigan State has been in
spaces where they didn't connect and they got to destroyed.
You have to have a connectivity. That's what this conference is.
I'm gonna give you some credit that you never mentioned
it when you tell the stories. He caught it with
no gloves and it was partially raining that night. He

(53:09):
just had to tape around his fingers, the whole school,
like Tim Brown. I remember that he had no gloves
in that TJ. We got something funny for you before
we ask you about tomorrow and let you get out
of because I know you've been too curtives with your time.
We're gonna let you get it out of here. Put
the back wall up there, Ryan, do you recognize this picture?

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Tell me what's going on?

Speaker 10 (53:25):
Tell what's going on in this picture? Because when I
saw this music video, I said, oh, I want to
be like t J. Ducket, even though he went to
that other school. I want to be like TJ. Ducky.
He scored a win and touchdown, had two on y'alls,
and he was in this video. What video is this?
And how did it come up?

Speaker 11 (53:42):
You want to be TJ Duckett right now?

Speaker 10 (53:44):
Yes, all the way around.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Now. It was a.

Speaker 9 (53:50):
Video and I was that coming out of college, went
down to the Super Bowl I think it was in
New Orleans the year before the draft, and just made
some friends, ran into some people. And then once I
got got drafted by Atlanta, I mean it's a it's
a lot. A lot of those people lived in Atlanta,

(54:11):
and I was able to make some good connection and
next thing, you know, man, I was, I was, yeah,
I mean I was doing my things.

Speaker 11 (54:22):
You got moves, you got moves. I'm sure you still
have them, all right.

Speaker 21 (54:26):
I know.

Speaker 11 (54:27):
Brailyn said, we want to get you out of here
because you've been very gracious with your time.

Speaker 6 (54:31):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (54:32):
But Michigan Michigan State. Tomorrow, Braylan can ask the obvious question.
I'm gonna ask you this one. What's wrong with Michigan
State right now?

Speaker 9 (54:39):
I think if you want to say what's wrong, I
would say it's more of just them still working through
figuring out who they are and trying to figure out
what the identity is and who they're gonna be, and
and there's been a lot of uneasiness and until some
something stabilizes that ship, until something says, this is our identity,
this is.

Speaker 6 (54:57):
Who we are, this is what it's about, and we
gonna go out here and.

Speaker 9 (55:00):
Do it regularly consistently. I think that's that's what it is.
I don't think we're anything's wrong. I think it's it's
having to do the right things more consistently regularly. And
and when when anytime you play good teams and and
you make mistakes and they capitalize off of it, and
it keeps It's a snowball, it keeps happening.

Speaker 6 (55:20):
And now you're not playing within your own game plan.

Speaker 9 (55:23):
Because you're trying to catch up. You're trying to keep up.
So I think a big part of it is what
is our identity? And I think this game is the
most pivotal point in our Michigan state history right now.
It's this this game, right now, it's going to be
what is our identity? If we can get up for
these guys, whatever happens, but get up for them and

(55:45):
get in this fight, that's gonna say a whole lot
about who we are from this point forward. And I
have I have faith in my guys. I love my dogs,
And it's gonna be it's gonna be a better game
than I think a lot of people really understand. And
and and you know, it's part of being that that
adversity in the game, that that you know you're coming

(56:06):
into the woodshed. I mean, they're supposed to win this game.
They're supposed to. They're supposed to come in here and
they're supposed to. But they might be the only ones
that think that too. So you still got to play
the game, and that's what this rival off.

Speaker 10 (56:20):
I'm actually I'm actually want to percent with you, and
like before you even said that, I was like, this
is one of those weird games. Like after he spoke,
I'm kind of scared silently, but but before he spoke,
it's because Michigan State has shown you at times this
season that they can make some plays and they could
do something, you know what I'm saying. And Michigan has
also shown you at times that there's lapses. They're still

(56:42):
trying to figure things out. They don't look good, they
don't playlet to say, great football at all time. You
know what that shapes up to. That shaped up to
an ugly game where you're legitimately in the last two
minutes of the game trying to figure out who this
this this This reeks of one of those games. I
drove up to East landsting what was it yesterday day
when we went two days when it went up there,

(57:02):
it was raining, it was like the fall. I'm looking
at the stadium and I'm looking at this spark and
I'm like, it's gonna be some It's gonna be some
BS on Saturday already. Know I agree with tz on
this it's gonna be an Excuse me, I agree with
on this one. It's gonna be a game.

Speaker 17 (57:16):
I think.

Speaker 10 (57:17):
I think it's gonna be a game.

Speaker 9 (57:19):
I think, and I think, you know, I believe, like
I said, my Spartan dogs, and you know, they we
got a lot of pride in themselves, like they want
to show who we are. And I mean again, this
is this is the best opportunity to do that. I mean,
there's a lot of things swirling out there here and there,
but nobody can play except for them. And they got

(57:41):
a chance to make a decision on who are they
going to be from this point forward? Through this John Smith,
through this time?

Speaker 10 (57:49):
Who John L. Smith? I know that guy all too well.

Speaker 11 (57:56):
Hey, you know here, here's such great passion free you
about MSU. And of course I hear it every day
from Braylin regarding the University of Michigan. It's always struck
me how much pride you guys have in the school
you attended for four years, rather than the teams you
played for professionally that helped you become even more famous.
Why do you think that is?

Speaker 9 (58:18):
Well, I mean, you know, though the teams that drafted
us gave us chances opportunity. I mean, that was the dreaming,
but we ultimately got to choose where we went first,
so we got I got to choose to go to
Michigan State because you know, by choosing that there was
I wanted to and when you want to do something,

(58:41):
you give it everything you have. When a team drafted me,
they chose me and said come over here. And I
would have chose the same team at the time anyway,
but it wasn't.

Speaker 6 (58:51):
It's the same. That the same.

Speaker 9 (58:53):
Also, you know they can let you go and every
time you won't, they can break off their relationship at
any time, And how does that make you feel? And
you know in your college they love you, your kid.
You're figuring out what it means to be who you
are outside of your own community, outside of your own home.
You're growing up in front of these fans. You're growing

(59:15):
with the students who are going to campus, like we're
all growing together. And then we reach that time when
our time is up and we have to go get
a job, start a life wherever that takes us throughout
the world. And then when we're in this world by
ourselfs trying to figure it out, we always think about home.
We always think where do we feel it. Some people

(59:36):
didn't enjoy the high school experience. Some people don't like
going back to their hometowns. But that college town, that
college experience, that's the best years of your life. You
always hear from an a doubt when you're a kid,
college is the best years of your life.

Speaker 6 (59:49):
And it really is.

Speaker 9 (59:51):
I mean, you've got so many people who are again
eighteen nineteen, twenty twenty one, Like we're talking about this
football team, but in the game of life, they try
to figure out who they are, who's their identity, and
then you break out into the world, and you know,
you come back and maybe it's homecoming. You get one
or two of those a year, and I think that's
where the real connection coming. Parents get to come to you,

(01:00:12):
to you to your college. You know, my mom passed
my freshman year, so she ain't see life after. So
that's even more reason why it means so much to me.
So I think it's it's definitely, I would say, because
you get to make the choice. You know, if they
do it right, they're nurturing a young man, they're helping
them grow, they're helping them gain wisdom, knowledge, and I

(01:00:35):
moved back to land scene because when my football career
was over, I wanted to go back to the place
that helped me become a man and find my helped
me become a young man and find my identity, and
I needed it to help me become a man. I
need that same spartan love I need. I need that
same support. And that's that's why I came back home.
And that's my reason for loving my university. Michigan State.

Speaker 10 (01:00:58):
Baby, I'll piggyback on that one. It's a mutual choice
because not only did you choose and they chose you
as well. It's like Michigan chose me, I chose them,
Michigan State chose you. You chose them. It's a mutual choosing.
And that's why you fall in love. All right, give
me a score Tomorrow's it's gonna be so close, and
we'll let you get out of I appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (01:01:16):
I'm say it's gonna be. It's gonna be twenty four
to twenty, twenty four to seventeen. It's gonna be tied
at seventeen, back and forth, couple of field goals. It's
gonna be tired. And then it's you know, at the
end of the game, somebody, somebody gonna make a play.
Somebody gonna make a play, and you know what I'm
I'm even taking one deeper. It's gonna be a defensive

(01:01:37):
touchdown that wins this game.

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
Oh no, I like it.

Speaker 17 (01:01:43):
I like it, like giving a normal inding, normal indy.

Speaker 10 (01:01:48):
I agree one hundred percent. Then it's gonna be close.
But it's just gonna be on the other side of
the coin. I'm going thirty one, twenty six, wow, twenty six,
and I think the winner he'll be wearing the number one.

Speaker 11 (01:02:02):
So I'm saying, well, I will say this. I think
it's gonna be hard for both defenses to stop the
other team's offenses because neither defenses have been all that great.
I can tell you this. I end a lot of
interviews wondering if I would want to talk to that
person again or to know them more. I could not
imagine another interview where that is more appropriate than with
one Todd Jeffrey Duckett. It was awesome having you. Thank

(01:02:25):
you all the best, say, let's you.

Speaker 10 (01:02:28):
You aren't inviting me up by tomorrow, so I told
you I made you up. In terms of coming on show.
Whenever you want to come on.

Speaker 6 (01:02:33):
You got a.

Speaker 10 (01:02:34):
Standing invitation, no question, standing invitation. Talk we talk about whatever.
I appreciate you.

Speaker 11 (01:02:39):
I would also say this, Michigan State should probably use
you more part of their radio broadcast. I think you
do a fantastic job there. So all the best.

Speaker 10 (01:02:46):
Thank you. Call a friend a friend and say less.
That's easy, that's easy.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
All the best.

Speaker 11 (01:02:53):
Man, All right, okay, all the best. That's great stuff,
really good stuff. What a good dude.

Speaker 10 (01:02:59):
It's my guy.

Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
Man.

Speaker 11 (01:02:59):
I really really like him.

Speaker 10 (01:03:01):
I just love like when you can be in a
space where, yeah, we play on different teams, you get older,
every about known that it's just a brotherhood. You still
talk your stuff around this week. But other than that, man,
he's right, it's about kids. It's about excuse me, it's
about your kids. It's about your impact on the community.
It's about the things that you want to leave behind.
Because everybody has an expiration date. I didn't mean to
get more of it all of a sudden. I went

(01:03:22):
to a funeral earlier in the past or something. Everybody
has an expiration date. So it's not about when you go,
it's what you do with your time here. And what
he's doing with his time here in terms of being
a father, being a husband and working with the Ronald
McDonald house and the passion and the clarity that he has.
That's what life is about. It's what you leave behind. Yeah,
leave it someday.

Speaker 11 (01:03:41):
He's got great energy, man, I mean you can feel it.
He's got great energy. Priorities are right there obviously, such
a good dude, and love his perspective of life in
general and moving back. That struck me, moving back because
he wanted to be, you know, near his spartan family
where he felt more comfortable. Not all everybody does that

(01:04:02):
or feels like they have to do it. He felt
like it and we wish him all the best, So
that'd be great. Maybe I'll see him tomorrow at some
tailgate because I'll be there.

Speaker 10 (01:04:11):
It's a real thing, too, like when you're when you're
a I speak from just the athletes side of things,
maybe like the NFL in particular, he and I played
in the league. It was the same thing for me,
Like I was living in Miami in my off seasons
and when I was kind of tweeting and my playing.
Am I not twenty fourteen? I'm trying to figure out
what the move is. I had to get back to myself.

(01:04:32):
I had to same thing. I had to start over,
like be easy and seventeen and one and all that
stuff was done. I had to figure out what I
was going to be. So I left the beaches of Miami.
I left the parties and all the you know, the
things that come with Miami. I love to come back
home and get regrounded and find out what that purpose
was like coming back. Here is something about the state
of Michigan.

Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
Like I love.

Speaker 11 (01:04:52):
There is something, there is something about it.

Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
It's something that brings you back. The fact I left Miami.
I'm still scratching my head what the f was out there?

Speaker 11 (01:05:00):
Actually because you like to play golf, but I would
say this, you know, you see, you know this is
really yeah, this is real. When you have when you
see athletes play bikinis, that's that's t M. I when
there's when when you see athletes and you you see
them on the field of play. We were talking about

(01:05:21):
justin Jefferson earlier, and then you hear this type of
in depth discussion about stuff and you and I get
that every day. It really changes your mind. I mean
it really should. I mean when when I when I
grow up and I tell kids, you know, don't make
athletes your role model. Hopefully your role model is your
mom and your dad.

Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
Right.

Speaker 11 (01:05:39):
Well, when you talk to a man like that, if
somebody said, wow, that's that's okay, that's a good guy to.

Speaker 17 (01:05:47):
Have, he's definitely somebody I would like a part of
my village.

Speaker 11 (01:05:49):
Oh that's that's well said.

Speaker 10 (01:05:52):
Say I consider and used to live in Spidan village.
That's where all the football players live when I was playing.
But you hit the nail on the hid in terms
of the motives that.

Speaker 11 (01:05:58):
The couch burning.

Speaker 10 (01:06:02):
Rival.

Speaker 6 (01:06:03):
No, just wondering.

Speaker 10 (01:06:04):
But you know how you ask sometimes and people will
look at the game and they'll say, man, how did
that guy play like this? How our game is different
from one week to another because you never know what
someone was going through in that week. So granted he
had two hundred eight yards against us, he had a
game when he touchdown that night, how did the defensive
Michigan know that this is legitimately his mother's birthday and

(01:06:25):
she had been gone for aye? How did they know
that he was focusing so much on the fumble that
he had the year before? Because you're coming into the
game and defensive coordinator Jim Herman is telling you, hey,
this guy fumble. He said he fumbled last year. Meanwhile,
he's seeing me doing everything he can out the fumble.
He's doing everything he can to make sure he represents
his mom on that night. Now I wonder why he
had two hundred yards. Ya, don't feel so bad no more.

(01:06:47):
Our defense don't have a chance. He was playing with
God on the side.

Speaker 11 (01:06:51):
So hey, look all right, that was great. Thanks for

I'm all in. I'm all in. I'm all in on
sun Cruiser Vodka, Ist Tea and wood support.

Speaker 10 (01:13:20):
I worked on in my Sun Cruise a Detroy Lions
shirt today at Planet Fitness. Is that a two for one?

Speaker 11 (01:13:24):
It's a two for one for sure. How many people
came up and said, can I have that shirt? And
you said, no, there's only one. It's mine.

Speaker 10 (01:13:29):
I hope it was swollen and sweating.

Speaker 11 (01:13:31):
Oh, I bet it was swollen. The Sun Cruiser Vodkast
Tea should be plenty on in East Lanting tomorrow. I mean,
as you get ready for this, I'm gonna be walking
around and I'll guarantee you there'll be people with the
Sun Cruiser Vodka Ist Tea and I'll say, hey, good choice.
It's only one hundred calories. Hey, good choice, four and
a half percent. You're saving yourself some money because you're
going to school and you don't have a lot of money. Well,

(01:13:53):
it's real vodka, it's real iced tea. They will probably
look at me and say, dude, what are you a salesman? No,
but I believe in the product this time let the
good times cruise with sun Cruiser vodkast Tea, enjoy it
at the game tomorrow, and please drink responsible.

Speaker 17 (01:14:07):
Drink your responsible.

Speaker 10 (01:14:08):
Definitely, please drink response because we know how it is
East Lansing and that's not that's not a shot at
East Lansing because I spent plenty of Get what you
did there?

Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
You like that?

Speaker 10 (01:14:19):
I spend plenty of time East Lansing having fun, man
with the great people.

Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
And uh.

Speaker 10 (01:14:24):
No, why am I gonna call y'all great this rivalry?
But I've had a lot of fun in East Lancing.
But I know how it gets drink responding.

Speaker 11 (01:14:31):
Shots gets you in trouble, don't they seriously? I mean,
if it's yellow shots, it's fireball shots. Shots gets you in.

Speaker 10 (01:14:37):
Trust you have you gotta have a system. You have
to have a system.

Speaker 11 (01:14:41):
What's the system of a shot? Uh?

Speaker 10 (01:14:44):
What am I drinking? What do we shoot? Let's say
we're shooting vodka? Don't let's stop there. Let's say you're
shooting tequila. That was you see I did? Don't shots
for tequila and whiskey, Like nothing else is tequila and whiskey.
Any away, I would say two shots, let me excuse me,
not two shots a shot per thirty minutes, a shot

(01:15:07):
per thirty minutes. That's the strategy.

Speaker 11 (01:15:09):
That's tough to do.

Speaker 10 (01:15:10):
And then shut it off after two hours and then
chase the shots.

Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
With the water.

Speaker 10 (01:15:15):
There you go, absolutely the latter shots with the water.
If you're going to do it in that space, that's
the remedy. It's a shot per thirty chase with the water,
two hours, cut it off. But if you're in a
college campus, there's there's no strategy. Yeah, no one's thinking
like strategy is like just don't be too messed up.

Speaker 11 (01:15:31):
Tomorrow, exactly. Please let me dive into this because I
can't expect this. But here's what I want to know.
What's the best drinking game you played in college?

Speaker 10 (01:15:43):
I didn't play drink games in college.

Speaker 11 (01:15:45):
Well, it's because you're working out everything, you're getting up five.

Speaker 10 (01:15:49):
You're probably I appreciate you giving me that, but I
just didn't drink like that. Like my boys did. Like
a lot of team, especially the offensive line, they got
games for days. But I did play a game post
college that became huge for like like five years.

Speaker 6 (01:16:01):
What is it?

Speaker 10 (01:16:02):
Kings?

Speaker 11 (01:16:03):
Kings explained, like, so each card in the.

Speaker 10 (01:16:05):
Deck, it holds a something that you have to do,
hold something after you And it's been so long as
I played it. But each card you flip on your turn,
if it's whatever it is, you gotta do something along
the lines over there, I'll get the rules. Let you know,
it's been a while since I played, all right, but
you would legitimately if you flip an ace, it's a waterfall.
So you got like drinking order, and you can't stop

(01:16:26):
drinking until you know everybody else has finishes their drink.
If it's a joker, everybody takes two ships. It's it's
a dumb game. It's a game to get drink most
of the dumb it's a game to do exactly that.
So I don't play these games anymore because I'm an
upstanding I don't have time for that drinks.

Speaker 11 (01:16:42):
All right, kool Aiden, that's drinking game.

Speaker 24 (01:16:45):
And King I was gonna say, Sam, Sam's bray man.
My college experience started with four days playing college ball.
I did get around to have some parties, but they
didn't get down too much.

Speaker 8 (01:16:57):
I did.

Speaker 11 (01:16:58):
I did so at no point did you play drinking
game in college? That is a lie. Now we'll get
some truth. Go ahead, Ryan, I play.

Speaker 10 (01:17:10):
They don't act like you forgot.

Speaker 11 (01:17:13):
You just graduated, right, So I.

Speaker 14 (01:17:14):
Got a lot.

Speaker 18 (01:17:15):
I'm actually working on my system right now because I'm
shooting up to Mount Pleasant tonight. I would say beer
ball was a great one. Ride the bus was a
good one because we ball. Oh beer ball is you
line up the the You have a teammate, You have
four or team of four each side across the table.
You have a ping pong ball and you just throw
it at the can. If you hit the opposing can,

(01:17:36):
crack open your drink and you start chugging until everyone
touches on.

Speaker 14 (01:17:39):
The posing team touches the ball sets it down, so
you're just chugging.

Speaker 6 (01:17:42):
It sucks.

Speaker 10 (01:17:43):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 11 (01:17:44):
It's a really bad game, just like a bad game.

Speaker 18 (01:17:47):
Ride the Bus was a good one because if you
get screwed in the end ride the bus, uh, you
just have to match. It's like a pyramid of cards
and you have to match it that's on the pyramid,
the person with the most amount of cards at the
end and.

Speaker 11 (01:17:58):
You you guys gotta bring a lot of stuff to parties.

Speaker 14 (01:18:00):
I just cars.

Speaker 10 (01:18:02):
It's just a deck of cards for kings and I
got the rules for you too.

Speaker 11 (01:18:05):
Okay, let me just say mine real quick, and then
I want to hear kings. We brought quarters. We played quarterbous.

Speaker 8 (01:18:11):
I have to play that.

Speaker 11 (01:18:12):
Yeah, So it was pretty simple, maybe because we weren't
as you know, uh rich as you guys. But we
can just bring we can just bring quarters.

Speaker 6 (01:18:21):
Okay.

Speaker 11 (01:18:22):
We played a game called up the River, Down the River,
which was pretty intense. But I went to Michigan one
time where one of my best friends went, and we
played a game called Century Club. Have you ever heard
of it?

Speaker 10 (01:18:35):
I've heard of century Foot, I've heard of you have
be twenty one up to get in and then you's
one drink minimum.

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
And no judge.

Speaker 10 (01:18:44):
Century Club?

Speaker 4 (01:18:45):
Was you did it?

Speaker 11 (01:18:46):
You did a shot of beer a minute for one
hundred minutes.

Speaker 10 (01:18:50):
Yes, yes, I've done that.

Speaker 6 (01:18:51):
So that's what it was.

Speaker 11 (01:18:53):
So that that was pretty intense.

Speaker 10 (01:18:54):
I didn't like it. I was I was at didn't
make it.

Speaker 11 (01:18:58):
So get this, I was. I was at CMU at
the time. This tracks okay, and we had a reputation,
all right whatever. We were with a bunch of Michigan
people and I looked at my buddy, I said, this
is ridiculous. Okay, it's taking too long. I looked at
everybody in that group and I said, he and I
are gonna do it every thirty seconds. Oh and we

(01:19:20):
did every thirty seconds and got to hurt pretty quick. Yeah,
I did work out. That's fine. Okay, Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 10 (01:19:26):
Here's yeah, here's kings for you. Tell me King aces
if you get aces called the waterfalls started, the same
thing as start drinking at the same time as the
person until you left. Don't stop until they do.

Speaker 6 (01:19:40):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 10 (01:19:41):
Two, choose someone to drink like you just you pull
it too.

Speaker 11 (01:19:44):
You can just choose anyone, so brailing your drinking when
got right?

Speaker 10 (01:19:48):
Yeah, got you covered. Three you drink for the last
person to touch the floor drinks five.

Speaker 11 (01:19:55):
Well, I'm sorry, what do you mean touch the floor
like pass out? Or touch the floor is in you know,
hit it with your shoes or what is that?

Speaker 10 (01:20:02):
We'll get back to that. Like Kings has, every King's
game is similar but not exactly the same, if that
makes sense. Sometimes the numbers is just a little bit different.
That one's a new one to me, but we can
figure it out. Five guys drink six girls drink seven
is heaven.

Speaker 21 (01:20:18):
What is it?

Speaker 6 (01:20:18):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (01:20:18):
Seven, Heaven? That's right, raise your hand to heaven. The
last person to do so drinks. Eight may choose someone
to be your mate. That means every time you have
to drink, that person has to drink, so that one
holds over. Nine rhymes say a word. The person to
your right has to say a word that rhymes. The
first person that fails, they have to drink.

Speaker 11 (01:20:37):
That's a good one.

Speaker 10 (01:20:37):
Ten choose category of things. The person to your right
name something in the category. The first person to fail drink.
So if this person says dogs, everybody is going on
naming your type of dog. The first person fail, boom,
you gotta drink. Example Jack, never have I ever? That's
a very easy one to play neverever. If you choose
not to play never haveever, you have to take a shot,

(01:20:57):
all right, Queen ask questions. Ask someone a question. That
person then asks someone else a question. The first person
to fail drinks. So basically you have to answer a
question with a question and keep going, I like that
are you white? And then the next question is blah
blah blah, but don't know, but you just asked the
next person another question. Has nothing to do with what
I asked you.

Speaker 11 (01:21:17):
You don't answer it.

Speaker 10 (01:21:18):
You know you just asked the question one. That's question.
First person messed that up. You drink King's cup. Set
a rule and pour some of your drink into the
King's cup. Is a King's cup for everybody. Now this
isn't sanitary obviously past twenty twenty, but this just before
before twenty twenty. Set a rule and pour some of
your drink into the Kings cup in the center of
the table. Whoever draws the final king must drink the

(01:21:41):
entire Kings cup. That game right there, ladies and gentlemen,
will get you cooked.

Speaker 11 (01:21:45):
Oh no, that game doesn't last long.

Speaker 10 (01:21:48):
It's a fun game because it's really fun. Well then
it's fun because all the rules that you start to
forget and you slip up on it's like questions you.

Speaker 11 (01:21:55):
Like, i'd have to have them on a board. Break
line are you white?

Speaker 6 (01:21:57):
Like?

Speaker 10 (01:21:59):
You can't do that?

Speaker 11 (01:22:00):
You gotta remember all that. But that just to remember,
especially as you drink a little bit more. But that's
the point. Yeah, that is really good.

Speaker 17 (01:22:05):
And I will say this, I won't disappoint.

Speaker 11 (01:22:07):
You here and now he's gonna come to hear this.

Speaker 17 (01:22:11):
My favorite college party experience.

Speaker 24 (01:22:15):
And I've been to all like a lot of the
colleges in this state, as well as Howard and Georgetown
and a bunch of them Mount East Coast, Central Michigan.
I had a friend that was a cheerleader. She was
there was a game on ESPN. She was, I'm gonna
be on ESPN. I need all my hobies to come
up and support. I went down there and I won't
say what happened, but Central Michigan.

Speaker 9 (01:22:35):
U.

Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
You real man?

Speaker 17 (01:22:38):
It turned out.

Speaker 11 (01:22:40):
Yeah, I mean Ryan didn't experience that this, but when
I was there, it was the end of the world
party that well you mean to know about it, but now,
but ours was with ours was with the National Guard
out there. Yeah that's how That's how deep it was.

Speaker 6 (01:22:54):
People were.

Speaker 10 (01:22:55):
So this is a front like this, this professionalism with
the quarterships and you know, and the boys, this is
a front.

Speaker 11 (01:23:02):
I didn't say I was throwing I wasn't throwing kegs
off the roof, but I noticed it, Okay, it was
something else that was a lifetime ago. The upside down
beer bongs and everything are a lifetime ago, all right.
But it was a school where you grew up pretty
quick with stuff like that, at least during my stretch.

(01:23:23):
I don't know if it's still like that, Ryan, But yeah, we.

Speaker 18 (01:23:26):
Threw our own end of the World party and it
was the greatest thing I've ever been part of, and
it was sweet and I actually first knew about it
my financial advisor went to see him.

Speaker 14 (01:23:35):
You and I actually I asked about one financial advisor meeting.

Speaker 10 (01:23:39):
And I was like, what's about any advice?

Speaker 14 (01:23:43):
He went, He's like, he's like end of the World
like everything.

Speaker 6 (01:23:51):
You know what.

Speaker 24 (01:23:55):
Chest he says he's a Mexican fan. Okay, but he
says miss parties harder. Who he thinks Michigan State parties
harder than Michigan.

Speaker 11 (01:24:04):
I don't. I don't think there's any question about that.
Michigan State for sure.

Speaker 10 (01:24:09):
It's not even close.

Speaker 11 (01:24:10):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think it's I don't.

Speaker 10 (01:24:12):
Yeah, because you know, it's so funny. Is like the
pockets that people probably like crazy and in armors like
few and farm between, especially now like it's few and
farm between. It's a couple couple designated spots. Hey, this
way they turn up, this way they turn everything now
is chill like in Michigan State when you go up
there like everybody's turned up. Everywhere is turning up. It's fun.

Speaker 11 (01:24:32):
Yeah, keep it real bright.

Speaker 10 (01:24:34):
The original Ricks just so yeah, I know it resigns
in an I want to hear nothing about Ricks East Lands.

Speaker 11 (01:24:40):
We we will do that. We are going to ask
a few things and get your perspective on it. And
I'm going to ask the whole group this Michigan, Michigan State,
a few different things that are outside of football.

Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
Will do that a little bit.

Speaker 10 (01:24:51):
Let's play this weekend.

Speaker 11 (01:24:52):
The Lions do not play this weekend. They've got to
buy a week You're absolutely on Sunday.

Speaker 10 (01:24:58):
That's a good question. Church, Church, Church.

Speaker 11 (01:25:00):
I'm playing golf. When we come back. We'll dive into
a little bit more lighthearted stuff here on the Bvylan
Edwards Show. I'll always appreciate you joining us in the
chat and giving us your perspective. Koolad'll give us an
update on that too after this from Felt in Chevrolet.

Speaker 10 (01:25:16):
It's rivalry week. You know what, one hundred scents RVE.

Speaker 11 (01:25:18):
We just had T. J.

Speaker 10 (01:25:19):
Duckett on the show myself brother, and that was the
University of Michigan. It's rivalry, but it's in the East
lance and check out our friends at Felman Chevrolet of
Lansing for a new car at least a twenty twenty
six Silverado fifteen hundred crew and only one hundred and
seventy nine dollars per month or twenty twenty six equal
knox Worth to twenty nine per month. This Saturday, Spinny
spend more racked from what we're heavyweights. We'll be doing

(01:25:41):
a social media take over from the streets of East
Lansing before the Michigan versus Michigan State game thanks to
Feldman and Chevrolet of the Lancey and our good friend
Joe Rodriguez.

Speaker 11 (01:25:52):
Well you got the obviously, you've got the big showdown
taking place tomorrow between Michigan and Michigan State. Sharon's Heating
and Air Conditioning would love to be part of that.
The problem is they work. They are constantly working, and

This show has flown by. We got to get to

We wish him and Clyylee High School. Well, we had
a great time with Todd Joseph or TJ. Duckett. So
I hope you had a chance to check that out,
and if not, check out our social media channels Woodward

(01:30:50):
Sports because it's worth checking out.

Speaker 1 (01:30:53):
For sure.

Speaker 11 (01:30:53):
I want to get to the picks here in a moment.
But you know, we all know what's going on with
the NBA. Is it is going to be constant, might
be just the tip of the iceberg, but we thought
we'd have a little fun with it all right, Now,
the best what are the best gambling or mob movies
in your lifetime? The ones you've watched, maybe the ones

(01:31:15):
you can't stop watching. So just give me three or
four if you got I got five of them. And
then here's the last thing. You know, this scenario is
going to be brought up. It's going to be made
into a movie. Anybody dispute that. Right now, this is
made This is made for tea. We love mob movie.

Speaker 10 (01:31:33):
This is Molly, This is Molly's game on absolutely steroids.

Speaker 1 (01:31:38):
Yes, this is.

Speaker 10 (01:31:39):
Molly's game on steroids. Insert professional athletes, insert people that
you know. So it's not about we gotta fake characters
and we don't know who these characters are you eluding
that this might be an actor that there No, we
got the players. We got the characters. Like, I agree
what I'm saying this movie right here. I wanted to
say that yesterday. You're not in the same way like

(01:31:59):
I can't wait for this movie.

Speaker 5 (01:32:00):
I hear.

Speaker 10 (01:32:01):
I hate that it affects some people that I love
me too, but me too. With that being said, they
put themselves in a situation. If it's true that movie
is gonna be five.

Speaker 11 (01:32:09):
Somebody whoever the president is at MGM or or at
twenty first century Fox got a great idea. What's that
Let's start production on a movie about what's going on
in the NBA right now. Hey, great idea. So I
want to know who would play those characters. Which way
do you want to go first?

Speaker 10 (01:32:29):
I'll do five quick ones to get those out of
the way. Give me Casino, Godfather to American Gangster, Rounders.

Speaker 11 (01:32:36):
Ooh good one.

Speaker 10 (01:32:37):
Rounders. Think about Rounders is my favorite movie for a
very long time.

Speaker 8 (01:32:41):
And then.

Speaker 10 (01:32:43):
I said Casino, I said American Gangster Godfather to Oh Goodfellas,
Good Goodfellas, and Rounders.

Speaker 11 (01:32:49):
All right, Yeah, I had Godfather to Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco,
American Gangster, and Scarface. Those were the mob movies for me. Okay,
doesn't mean that they're right. Those are just the ones
for me. Not all of them obviously involved in gambling,
some of them like Scarface and drug smuggling.

Speaker 10 (01:33:08):
But I gotta I gotta take one of that one,
because first of all, I I this is a cultural thing.
If I didn't do this, then I would get looked
at side absolutely correct. Let me substitute one of those
I'm not taking around As off. I can't take Good
Fellas off.

Speaker 1 (01:33:24):
You just add to it to it.

Speaker 10 (01:33:27):
Excuse me, Hutler and.

Speaker 11 (01:33:31):
New jack City, good one, Yeahackson. I thought you'd say
New Jackson, kool aid, you got you got some for us,
or anything new that we've we've already had. Good Fellas
might be one of my favorite movies of all.

Speaker 10 (01:33:42):
Time because it's that well done. I know it's the
movie is flawless. I just saw something recently. But if
you remember the scene, I don't ask you if you remember.
Some of my greatest movie is when they're walking into
the kitchen Radio and his wife. If you pay attention,
they walk in the kitchen, they legitimately walk in, they
make a left, make a left, they do a loop

(01:34:04):
around the kitchen, come back out, and then go back
here and make it right. Legitimately when you watch it,
they go to the left to walk a circle to
come out to eventually go to the right, and the
scene all they have to do is go straight, you
see the fire holes and make it right. That's what
the door wasn't to the club, but with Martin Scorsese did,
just to show you how great he is a cinematizy.

Speaker 11 (01:34:25):
You're talking about the restaurant.

Speaker 10 (01:34:26):
Sorry, the restaurant, I'm sorry, the restaurant scene, as opposed
to just go straight, make the left, going to the
make the right, going to the club and have the night.
They walk into the kitchen, they do a turnaround, and
then they walk in and walk out. So you can
just see, like from his point of view, what he
was and what it was, because everybody was like, I
never know that it was a different room where he

(01:34:47):
could have made it right. Like I always knew that,
but he was going there and the show what's up?
What's up? How you doing this greasing palm, showing you
that he has the stroke, that he's the guy's showing
you could do that. But a lot of people didn't
know that. And I didn't know that.

Speaker 11 (01:35:01):
Yeah, I didn't know it either.

Speaker 10 (01:35:02):
You share just made it right and go in the club.
But he makes the left, goes in the kitchen, he
does a lab blah blah blah, and he makes a
left out and then you see that fire holes the
whole time.

Speaker 11 (01:35:11):
Yeah, he makes it right, and there's the champagne for you.
They bring the small table. What do you do for
a living? I'm in construction. All right, cool aid? Did
we miss one? You know?

Speaker 24 (01:35:19):
It's just a couple of movies that I like as
it relates to the casino scene. The Ocean series is
one of my favorites. I love twenty one with Kevin Spacey.
I liked the storyline, Laurence.

Speaker 6 (01:35:29):
I liked this.

Speaker 24 (01:35:30):
Yeah, it kept me intrigued. Man, it really did the
all the way through. Uh and I like now you
see me as well. It was a little bit of magic,
and it was in the magic to uh Mark Ruffle
to pull off the heist.

Speaker 11 (01:35:41):
I loved it. I have not seen that. I'll take
your advice on that.

Speaker 10 (01:35:44):
Good right is coming out of a Yeah, I'm looking
forward to Ryan.

Speaker 11 (01:35:48):
Did we miss any for you? Uh?

Speaker 14 (01:35:49):
No mine, we're rounders. Uh and uh, good Fellas, I don't.
I don't mind Bronx Tale either.

Speaker 11 (01:35:56):
Oh, good one too.

Speaker 14 (01:35:58):
Three.

Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
I would.

Speaker 11 (01:36:02):
I would highly recommend Donnie Brasco if you can. Okay, Uh,
that's a good That's an oldie, but it's a good one.
It's not black and white. Like my daughter will not
watch black and white movies. I don't really watch him either,
but my wife does. Okay, let's get to those who
would play the Uh, that's a really good one. That's
such a good movie. It's it's really I think it's underrated.

Speaker 10 (01:36:22):
American Gas saying it's a movie that when you go
back and watch, you're like, oh, this movie is better
than a fun This acting is better than I didn't
think Russell crow is that good when I watched the
first time, and then I go back and watch him,
like understanding character he's playing. I understand the type of
energy he's trying to admit onto the scene. He actually
the musch bears out that funny did yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:36:42):
Uh, Mystery Alaska ruined it for me. For Russell Crowe,
this helped him when I watched this movie with hockey
movie where they played the ring Yeah, because he can't skate. Uh,
Like let's let's let's do this. Chauncey Phillips, uh, Terry
Rosier and Damon Jones who plays them in the movie
that will soon be produced about the NBA and the

(01:37:03):
gambling Okay, gambling ball or whatever it's named.

Speaker 10 (01:37:06):
I got the first. I got Chauncey Bills. I'm just
trying to figure out, like, why are he's the only
three players or people that they've shown.

Speaker 11 (01:37:13):
Well, there's gonna be more.

Speaker 10 (01:37:14):
But why is this the own three?

Speaker 9 (01:37:15):
Now?

Speaker 10 (01:37:16):
If it's thirty two people involved all the rest, he's
the biggest three or like I'm confused.

Speaker 11 (01:37:22):
I don't know the answer to that. I know of
the thirty four people that are indicted, I think a
lot of them have to do with the families, the
Italian families. So it could be wrong, but well, they've
given those names, they've given the games, they've given the game.
Beino family and show me.

Speaker 10 (01:37:40):
A picture, because right now you're making it seem like
the mastermind is Chauncey Terry Rose here. And I know
they're not the mastermind.

Speaker 11 (01:37:46):
No, they're not the mask. No, but they are the
most famous people associated with and let's face it, you
and I watch a lot of sports, so the sports
media is going all over that. A lot of the
news media is gravitating Cord the mob family.

Speaker 10 (01:38:02):
Yes, yeah, uh don Cheto could play Chauncey Billups.

Speaker 11 (01:38:07):
I don't believe that. I gotta have somebody who looked
like they played basketball before.

Speaker 10 (01:38:13):
Yeah, I'm more concerned about a good actor and then
I can figure out gaining weight and camera angles whatever,
because we're just going elbows.

Speaker 11 (01:38:26):
I had Blair Underwood or Michael Ely both.

Speaker 10 (01:38:30):
Look Michael is a light skinned dude with blue eyes.

Speaker 11 (01:38:34):
Oh I thought the blue lights were just in the
one movie where he was crazy. Okay, well then he doesn't.
He doesn't fit. You're right, Blair Underwood would be he
was first pick. Or we could use kool aid. I
got this one, Okay, I got this one without that.
My guy, my favorite of the old four Pistons. It's
only right if I.

Speaker 6 (01:38:54):
Do this for you.

Speaker 17 (01:38:55):
Chauncey.

Speaker 11 (01:38:56):
You need some gray in your beard, Buddy.

Speaker 14 (01:38:58):
You need't.

Speaker 24 (01:39:00):
There's a little bit of thought it. I'll grow it
out without a half before I did this for the people.
That's how important.

Speaker 11 (01:39:06):
I hate to tell people this. You're way too nice
to play that role. I'm sorry, You're way too kool a.

Speaker 10 (01:39:11):
You got the h who was a big fella for
the Minnesota Vikings. Random not random John Randall. John, you
got the John Randall here.

Speaker 11 (01:39:20):
Let's go John John uh Man. He scared, Yeah he was,
and he was damn good his team.

Speaker 10 (01:39:27):
Like when your teammates are scared of you. Yeah, like,
uh host, the guy has all the Super Bowl rings.
Charles Haley. Yeah, his team was scared for different reasons.

Speaker 11 (01:39:36):
Yeah, a lot of people were scared of Charles Haley.

Speaker 10 (01:39:38):
But still when your teammates are scared of James Harrison.

Speaker 11 (01:39:42):
Yeah, Jack Lambert Amen, Terry Roseier, who plays Terry Roseier.

Speaker 10 (01:39:48):
Uh, it's it's some young cats in the game. I
would have to watch the shot. I guess a bunch
of cats on that show.

Speaker 11 (01:39:53):
He could play it.

Speaker 10 (01:39:54):
But Terry rose here. Oh, Damnsons, Okay, Damnsons is in Snowfall.

Speaker 17 (01:40:00):
That's a good one. That's the perfect one.

Speaker 11 (01:40:03):
That's I don't I believe since this movie is going
to show Terry Rozier playing, I think you have to
take somebody who actually played, and I mean at the
highest level. And I think I used to think, well,
you know, athletes always want to be actors, and actors
want to be athletes. Well, I don't think the athlete

(01:40:26):
has to be at a supreme actor, but I think
there are certain guys who can do it. And I
was convinced of that in Miracle. Miracle, you didn't have actors.
Miracle was full of guys who could skate and played hockey, right,
except for the goalie Jim Craig. I chose Ray Allen.
I think Ray Allen would know exactly what to do,

(01:40:46):
how to play what? Okay, I would I would have
somebody of that ilk play Terry Rosier.

Speaker 10 (01:40:57):
Will you be able to separate Ray Allen is reality?
Allen is Jesus shows worth Like if raised if Ray's
playing Terry Rose, I am not looking at Terry Rose.

Speaker 11 (01:41:08):
That's a good point. This is That's a good point.

Speaker 10 (01:41:10):
This is reality.

Speaker 11 (01:41:12):
What do you think about he might not want.

Speaker 10 (01:41:14):
To play disassociated from who he excellent point?

Speaker 24 (01:41:17):
All right, Drew from the chat believes and I think
this might be a good one. He thinks Tyree can
play Chauncy.

Speaker 11 (01:41:28):
Tyrese MAXI what you're talking about.

Speaker 17 (01:41:32):
Because you gratulations.

Speaker 10 (01:41:35):
I like I like that we're expanding. I like that
we're thinking. But like you got to think of who
chance ability. Chauncey Billits is a real individual. He's serious,
he's man a few words like he's buttoned up, well
he used to be buttoned up.

Speaker 21 (01:41:48):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (01:41:49):
It has to be an individual that kind of emulated.
Terrese is a goofball. He believes in lower So I
love my guy. He's a nut job.

Speaker 6 (01:41:57):
So you have to but you.

Speaker 11 (01:41:58):
But what you've done is you've pigeoned him. Maybe he
can expand his.

Speaker 10 (01:42:02):
I've been watching Tres act since the Coca Cola commercial
in ninety seven when we're talking about.

Speaker 11 (01:42:08):
Well, I'm listen, I always pigeonholed uh Vince Vaughan and
then he played a serious role in It wasn't but
it wasn't.

Speaker 10 (01:42:16):
Good because it's like, well, you know, I'm not shutting down.
I appreciate all you as well, but we just talked
about what this movie could be. Like this, this this
story has the legs to be one of the best
movie because it had been a ton of good movies
in the last ten years. It has potential to be

(01:42:36):
something special. So I gotta look past Tyres. I gotta
I gotta call you know what I'm saying, Marianna Rivera.
I got entered Sam Man on.

Speaker 6 (01:42:46):
This match, all right.

Speaker 11 (01:42:46):
Lastly, Damon Jones, who plays him? I have Michael B.
Jordan or what Harris Harris played and remember the Titans.

Speaker 10 (01:42:55):
See I know dam from when I was funny actually
shot Jones. Shooting Dice was in the Bible. By the way, ladies,
go read your Bible. Dice are in the Bible.

Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
Yes they are.

Speaker 10 (01:43:05):
But he's a funny guy. He's not serious. He's a
goofball who's a character could kind of be that. It's
like the funny man on the team, like the who
could be Michael B. Jordan's like he's he's too big
for that role. Okay, I don't think he's a funny though.
Michael George is a serious guy.

Speaker 11 (01:43:23):
He's a really good actor.

Speaker 10 (01:43:24):
He's a serious guy who's a doesn't take themselves that
serious kind of having some fun. Jimmy Foxy pudgy stomach.

Speaker 11 (01:43:35):
Jamie Fox is a good that would be he can
play anybody.

Speaker 24 (01:43:39):
I'm seeing people Corey put Jamie Fox for Chauncey and
others think that, you know what, Denzel Washington could be
the one to play Chauncey. But I feel like Jamie
Fox for Damon Jones way you described it that.

Speaker 6 (01:43:51):
Look.

Speaker 11 (01:43:51):
I love Denzel Washington, I really do. I think he's
a phenomenal actor, one of the best actors in my lifetime.
But every time there is something like that, we've got
to put Denzel Washington. Trying to honest to god, I
thought about like Damon Jones, I thought about Dave Chappelle, Like,
I think you have to look outside the box instead
of taking your usual actors all the time. That's why

(01:44:11):
I said ray Allen. But Braylan brought up great points
I camera, so I thought, like, hey, go ahead.

Speaker 10 (01:44:18):
Chohnson can be played back, Jeffrey right, Chohnson can be
played by jeff Gordon. Jeffrey Right. Best actors right.

Speaker 6 (01:44:28):
Now?

Speaker 11 (01:44:29):
I do after play Martin Luther King played.

Speaker 10 (01:44:32):
In like Jeffrey Right, is a phenomenal act he could
play because he fits that.

Speaker 17 (01:44:38):
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
Serious.

Speaker 10 (01:44:39):
But you know, obviously, if this thing is true, West
sketch behind it. I think he could do some sketch.
He was kind of sketchy in his role as doctor
Narcius and uh Boardwalk Empire.

Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
Yeah good.

Speaker 11 (01:44:50):
Jeffrey right, all right, you're in charge of you know,
not just the screenplay, but you're now in charge of casting,
all right, Central casting to our right right here. When
we come back, we will do our NFL picks for
the week and get to the chat because we've got
some super chats. The kool Aids got update to sign
and of course it's the mail bag time. But first

(01:45:10):
Black Rock, if you're hungry, go to black Rock right now,
you will leave stuffed. Promise you that.

Speaker 10 (01:45:17):
Well one hundredercent. The bad news is there's no game
this week, so if you the Lions won't get a
chance to win for you get for your advertiser, but
they will be able to do that the following week.
Now the limited time deals nineteen ninety nine for the
steak lobster. You gotta get the steak and lobster.

Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
They do it just right.

Speaker 10 (01:45:32):
The surf and turf is amazing, and they cook it
to your perfection. You tell them how you want it
and that's how you will get it. Also, there's the
Brayln beef. Come on now, twenty ounce New York Strip.
Then that just sounds good. Then that just sounds good.
New York Strip once again. Seven hundred and fifty five
degree volcanic rock. That's what they cook these steaks on Blackrock.
Bron Grill also has multiple locations around this great state,

(01:45:54):
one near you. And don't forget about the fish and
chips as well. We partner with the best, So time.

Speaker 11 (01:46:00):
On, let's just give them the whole damn menu, man,
I mean the fish and chips, the appetizers. Yeah, I
love that trap. I also love coming in here, and
a big reason is because you're always greeted with a
smile at Lady Jane's and you are treated right, Okay,
I mean, they're just good people here. And Brailin always
talks about how clean it is at you know, the
various places, whether it be Black Rock or Planet Fitness.

(01:46:22):
It's super clean here at Lady Jans. It tells you
what it tells you. You're into a business that cares
about what it does, and it cares about you. You
are signing and next thing you know, you're in the
chair and you're getting the best haircut that you've ever experienced.
It's Lady Jeans and it's wicked awesome.

Speaker 21 (01:46:45):
You know how some things are so good they should
be world famous, but they're not. Our hostmade vinegrette is

We bet this show has flown by. We want to
get to the super chats we want to get for sure.
We want to get to the mail bag as well.
But every Friday we do our NFL picks. We all
picked the Chargers last night, just so people know. I
don't think anybody's picking Minnesota. So we're all want to know.
Let's get to them. You're ready, Here we go Braylan

(01:52:24):
forty nine ers at the Texans. We pick them straight up,
but Houston is favored by one and a half. San
Francisco's five and two. Houston is two up and four down.
Who do you got? Forty nine ers? Kool Aid?

Speaker 17 (01:52:36):
Forty nine ers, Niners.

Speaker 11 (01:52:37):
I'm gonna go with Houston. I'll be the odd man
out here, and it wouldn't be the first time. Giants
at two and five, Eagles at the opposite five and two,
kool Aid? Who you got Eagles, Ryan.

Speaker 14 (01:52:50):
I'll stick with the Eagles closer than people think.

Speaker 6 (01:52:54):
I agree with that.

Speaker 11 (01:52:54):
I'm gonna take Philly. I'm not sure it will be close.

Speaker 10 (01:52:58):
I want to take the Giants so bad, to be honest,
like improved that Eagles not like that. But what I
saw the Jalen Carter being back last week and being healthy.
I'm not picking against Jalen Carter going against Jackson Darts.
I want to pick the Giants. I'll take Philly begrudgingly.

Speaker 11 (01:53:16):
Yeah. Remember the Giants snapped their eight game NFC ET
skid by beating Philadelphia two weeks ago. I don't think
you do that twice in a season to that team
with this team.

Speaker 10 (01:53:27):
Don't forget about the starting wide receivers saying he wanted
to play for another team Like that just came out
like that. Those are the right You're right. You just
had two touchdowns one hundred and forty. Why are you
trying to leave?

Speaker 11 (01:53:38):
What does it take to make you happy?

Speaker 10 (01:53:40):
You get the ring? And that's the problem.

Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
You know what?

Speaker 10 (01:53:43):
You know the problem with him is it's it's kind
of like all the guys here, all the guys here
for the Lions have been drafted here and been bought
here like these they're guys, right. AJ is not Philly's guy.
AJ got drafted by the Titans. Ball with the Titans
basically is a higher He did what he was supposed to. Well,
I'm not trying to side for him. He did what

(01:54:04):
he bought him in it to do. As soon as
he got there. He went to the Super Bowl. He
had one of the greatest years Eagles history. He went
back to the Super Bowl, did the things they won
the Super Bowl. He's not interested anymore. The AJ Brown
is in the space where he feels as though he
could be better than all the receivers ever, and he's
not on the team that's allowing him to get those yards.
So he no longer cares about the team aspect. He's

(01:54:24):
got a ring. He wants now his own individual.

Speaker 11 (01:54:28):
Accolades, and that doesn't work for what all right, Well,
I mean after trading for my fantasy team. All right,
Chicago is at Baltimore four and two. The Bears are
in a four game role. Baltimore is not good right now,
one up and five down. Their season on the line. Ryan,
It's tough.

Speaker 14 (01:54:42):
I'm gonna rock with the Bears, though, I'm gonna rock.

Speaker 11 (01:54:44):
I have picked Baltimore in the last two weeks, okay,
and I've been burned each time. I'm an idiot. I'm
gonna do it again because I think they have to
have this one and if it's not, then their season
is over.

Speaker 10 (01:54:54):
Braylen Lamar's back, so luckily Matt Stafford's on the bile week,
so easy transition. Lamar, come save my fantasy team. I'm
going with Baltimore do something.

Speaker 11 (01:55:06):
Only one team in NFL history of the nineteen seventy
Bengals reached the playoffs after starting one and six. That's
the reason I say what I said. I believe they did.
I believe they did. Yeah, I'm sorry. That was Ken
Anderson way back in the day. I don't remember the number. Okay,
kool aid.

Speaker 10 (01:55:20):
Ah man, you know what.

Speaker 17 (01:55:21):
I was leaning Bears, but I do believe that the
Ravens get the get back.

Speaker 11 (01:55:25):
All right, Bills at the Panthers. Bills are four and two.
Carolina is playing better ball. They are four and three.
Bills haven't been playing very good ball, but I'm gonna
take him on the road. How about you, Ray.

Speaker 10 (01:55:38):
Give me Carolina?

Speaker 11 (01:55:39):
Ay bad Buffalo defense run against the run, and Carolina
can run. Who do you got, kool aid? I gotta
go with the Bills, okay, Stuffalo still taking Buffalo, Okay,
even though they're they're defense again against the run ranks
thirty first in the NFL bet.

Speaker 10 (01:55:54):
They better find a number one where I receive and
he better find one fast. What that Tinies stuff is?

Speaker 11 (01:55:58):
Maybe they can trade for your a Brown Brown's at
the Patriots. Brown's two and five, Patriots five and two.

Speaker 10 (01:56:04):
Braylan Patriots Patriots.

Speaker 11 (01:56:07):
Same okay. A couple more Jets at the Bengals. Oh,
my god, who wants to watch this game?

Speaker 10 (01:56:15):
I just picked up Evan McPherson.

Speaker 11 (01:56:20):
All right, couple years.

Speaker 17 (01:56:23):
I'm just a j a g go get one, go
get one.

Speaker 11 (01:56:27):
Oh it's not happening, that's right, I want to rock with.

Speaker 8 (01:56:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:56:32):
I'm taking the Bengals too.

Speaker 17 (01:56:33):
It's the sweet Bengals, all right.

Speaker 11 (01:56:35):
Dolphins at the Falcons, kool aid.

Speaker 17 (01:56:38):
I'm gonna go Falcons.

Speaker 11 (01:56:40):
Yeah, Falcons, Yep. Miami's an absolutely Yeah. Tampa is at
New Orleans. Tampa five and two, New Orleans one and six,
and they are dealing with some health issues. Ryan.

Speaker 14 (01:56:53):
Perfect game for the Bucks. Then get back to winning ways.

Speaker 11 (01:56:55):
Give me the Bucks, yep, and I think they'll beat
the spread that is them by three and a half.
I'll take Tampa.

Speaker 6 (01:57:03):
Here it is.

Speaker 10 (01:57:04):
He's my guy. But they're banged up and they looked
bad last week, but they're played against the Lions. Most
people do give me the Bucks.

Speaker 11 (01:57:11):
Tampa the Okay, everybody going Cowboys at the Broncos. This
is a good one, okay. Three three and one for Dallas,
five and two for Denver. I don't like the karma
with Denver because of Sean Payton being a jackass this
week to Russell Wilson. But they are the better team
and they are a good defense. Denver's offense should be
able to score against Dallas' defense until they get an

(01:57:33):
edge Rusher. I'm gonna go with Denver.

Speaker 10 (01:57:35):
I'm gonna go with the Cowboys. He talked about Dak Prescott,
how well he's playing. They got ceedee lamb bag last week,
and you saw that right away. There's no mistaking in offensive,
high powered Javonte Williams, and even on defense they started
to make some plays as well. Dwaan Bland came back
and what did he do? Picked six? Right soon as
he got back. Give me the Cowboys. You you don't
want hyped up Dak Prescott.

Speaker 11 (01:57:53):
Well listen, I mean hyped him up. They've got the
number one total offense in football. Yeah, kool Aid, Yeah,
O Boys for me, Ryan.

Speaker 14 (01:58:01):
I'm gonna rock with Braylen's favorite player, Dak Prescott.

Speaker 10 (01:58:04):
Okay, Uh.

Speaker 11 (01:58:06):
The Titans at the Colts. I think we're all going Colts.
There is that fair to say? At six to one,
Packers at the Steelers in the Sunday night matchup? Kool Aid?
Who do you got? Packers? Four one one? And Aaron
Rodgers for the first time plays against his old team
and has never beaten them. It's the only team he's
never beaten. Their foreign too, Well, you know what I think?
Aaron Rodgers gets his first win against his former team.

Speaker 6 (01:58:29):
What kind of thing?

Speaker 11 (01:58:30):
Give me?

Speaker 1 (01:58:30):
The Steelers?

Speaker 11 (01:58:31):
Yeah, I am too. I'm buying in with Pittsburgh.

Speaker 10 (01:58:33):
I think things are too good right now for Pittsburgh Steelers.
I just read a comedy. They say we would like
to have them back for tween twenty six. When things
are going like this, it's just like watching the TV
show When your favorite character on the TV show everything's
going good for him. What happened, something bad happens and
sets them back. Give me the Green Bay Packers that
come in here and win.

Speaker 11 (01:58:50):
Something's good been happening lately. In Kansas City. They're on
a roll. They're four and three and they take on
a Washington team without Jayden Daniels. I'm taking Kansas City Brayln.

Speaker 10 (01:59:00):
They will win this game. By twenty three.

Speaker 11 (01:59:02):
It'll be easy.

Speaker 10 (01:59:02):
Casey, who's the backup quarterback for Casey, he will be
playing his game.

Speaker 11 (01:59:08):
It's not any the backup quarterback for Kansas City will
be playing aside receiver, throw pass. Oh you're you're saying
they're gonna play because you're gonna be blowing them out.

Speaker 10 (01:59:19):
He played last week.

Speaker 11 (01:59:20):
I see, I see what you're.

Speaker 10 (01:59:21):
Saying that he might be playing at the end of
the second quarter.

Speaker 11 (01:59:23):
Okay, okay, well Gardner, minshew, God bless you. All Right,
let's get to uh that's who it is. Let's get
to uh the the mail bag and some uh you know,
big time chats.

Speaker 10 (01:59:36):
Friday. It's four o'clock on a Friday, Man, I'm getting
out of here. You get one.

Speaker 24 (01:59:41):
We got three super chests will be the super chats,
and then we will say but by some people smashed
that like button.

Speaker 17 (01:59:48):
You guys were very close to that light goal on
a Friday.

Speaker 24 (01:59:51):
The first one, Freddy felt the two dollars super Chat,

McDonald's parking lot covered in sauce.

Speaker 10 (02:00:21):
At least you got some food to kind of soak
up some of the apple goodness.

Speaker 1 (02:00:26):
Okay.

Speaker 17 (02:00:27):
The last one say well for nine and super Chat.

Speaker 24 (02:00:31):
He wears a number one crown for today's Chat family,
He says, I've been asking us all week, but can
we get a Michigan high school football playoff breakdown?

Speaker 17 (02:00:40):
He says On Monday, he says, in your favorite to
win each divisional title.

Speaker 11 (02:00:45):
