Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bringing in X Y and Z coach this, that, and
the third. So that's what happens as opposed to, well,
you know what, appreciate you. Let's have let's have TJ.
Duckett come along with matteen Cleaves and you know, Plexico
burs and you know, hell, we can go get a
we can go get a Kurt Gibby, we can get Gibby.
Let's have these guys sit in there, sit as a
(00:20):
collective sit on you guys sitting on an interview process.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
You guys, see what you think about this person? What
do you think? What are your thoughts? No, because it's
gonna be well.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
These guys help hire insert coach, and that's what it
comes down to. Yeah, I agree, nobody's passing up any
any chance to take credit.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I guess we have. We have some technical difficulties, but
kool Aid and Brendan and Spenny were able to fix it.
So thank you for that, and thanks for being patient.
And we also understand some of the smartest comments within
the chat and I understand that, and it's okay, okay,
although the one person who said better without sound, I
don't know to tell you want to watch for then
just tune out. Okay, let's get to the lines from
(00:58):
last night the Lions. Yeah, without sound, just lea, I.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Just never understand that what's keeping you here?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
He could be an angry elf.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
What's keeping you here could be an angry lion? Alight, Yeah, sit,
just fix it for you.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Okay. Listen, nothing you're gonna say is gonna bother him
or me. Okay, so just goodbye. That's okay, move on,
go someplace Else' not can hurt our feelings. Trust me,
It's been a lot worse in our lives at times.
So let's talk about the worst case scenario from last night,
and that is the Lions offense. So let's let's be
(01:34):
a smart alec here for a moment. All kinds of
problems against Minnesota. Yeah, let's take the play calling away
from John Morton, rightfully, So by the way, it's fixed
against a Washington team that you said and that chair chep.
They ranked twenty ninth in total defense. Let's not get
too carried away.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
People didn't like to play calling from Dan Campbell last night.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Now what.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
It's tough because this is the guy whos gonna be
calling the players. If you don't like it, well, sit
back and relax. You know, you clamored for Johnny Morton
to be gone, and like you said, rightfully, so you
can't take it from john I mean, you can't take
it from Dan. Where do you go from there? And
you can't take it back from him and give it
to a guy that did not have success. And also
you know it was against the Eagles, if that means anything.
It was windy outside, if that means anything. I'm being
(02:24):
funny at this particular point. But they're gonna have to
figure out some things. And it starts here though.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Shell.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
We can talk about Jared Goff, We will have that
conversation because he didn't have a good game. But it
starts with that offensive line. It starts with the offensive line.
You cannot have the type of success that the Lions
are used to in the regular season some of the
postseason without the type of offensive line that they had.
And we've been watching it. We saw it, we saw
it against the Green Bay Packers. And then the excuse
(02:51):
was it's the beginning of the season. It's on the
road trying to figure some things out. We don't play
in the preseason, all right, cool, you.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Start the rock and roll.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
You have some success against some blessing teams at the time,
and then you play against the Chiefs and once again.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
There's a lack of effort.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
There's movement, there's getting to the quarterback. There's Jered Goff
getting antsy because the pressures there. There's the Vikings game
where you see it again Brian Flores dowed it up
and they struggled again and actually got outmanned that game,
if I'm being honest. And then once again against the Eagles,
who are a damn good defense. Dare I say top
best defense in NFC? Maybe them and the Seahawks. They
(03:27):
just out physical the Detroit Lions. But also what they added,
they added the anticipation for Jered Golf in the short
arm throws, the throws over the middle. They didn't just
go running in reckless abandonment, like we'll just rush the
quarterback head down, try to get there.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
No, we have a plan on second down.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
We know that the balls are probably gonna be thrown
over the middle, probably five yard throws. So well, boom boot,
step back, jump up. How many knockdowns did you get
last night?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Seven? You had seven?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
You had three three three from Davis, two from Carter
and two amongst the rest of the defensive line. They
had a plan big fans one of the outstanding defensive
coordinators the last twenty years, and it.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Might be might be the best with Stu speG Noah.
The other thing they did was, I mean, they didn't
just run rough shot all to the offensive line. They
ran rough shot over everybody. Okay, so when you got
Nagoby de fifty eight too, when Nakobe Dean's coming in
and he just blows up David Montgomery right when they're
going fron on fourth down and you've got Iman Ross
Saint Brown matched up with the defensive end, I can't
(04:26):
figure out that philosophy, to be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Yesterday was a Yesterday was an interesting It was interesting
because the offensive line, we've seen them lose battles throughout
the course of the season, but you haven't seen the
whole total.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Offense just lose like that. Yesterday.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
It was the entire offense. I'm talking about Queenyan Mitchell.
I haven't seen Imo Russell Brown cover like that ever. Yeah,
Like Queenyan Mitchell was everywhere that he needed to be
in that coverage. Cooper de Jaane was the same way
Niakobe Dian you're talking about. He came in, ran right
into Dave Montgomery. Dave Montgomery falls into Jered Goff. Jeered
Goff goes down. You know what type of power, you
(05:00):
know what type of reckless abandonment that you have to
play with to create that type of force. Look at
Jalen Phillips, everybody here. We go back to the trade deadline.
They make a move for Jayden Phillips last year. Mean,
excuse me. Last week you saw him start to take
some strides against the Packers. But show, we talked about
it before the show. He just looked like a man
child out there. He looked like a guy that had
new energy, a guy that was playing violent. I mean,
(05:21):
I'm seeing him get through double teams much like I'm expecting.
Ninety seven was just our team to get through double teams,
and I didn't get a chance to see it. So
they just played with the type of physical dominance that
they knew what this game meant to them. Just as
a defense going against our offense, they could care less about.
With Jalen Hurts in that offense, which was not very much.
(05:41):
They could care what they had had going on. They
knew it was about them shutting down Jared Golf and
that offense, and they did that in spades.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, I like that. You're one hundred percent right about that.
With I was watching I know a little bit of
the Browns game too, so I was just bopping all
over the place. But I thought the same thing about
Miles Garrett, like he's the standard. Okay, well, the people
believe in him and TJ. Watt are the standard.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Another four sex and loss, and.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
He had four sacks and he had five tackles for loss,
and he stood out against Baltimore. They lost twenty three
to sixteen. They stink. They're two and eight. They're not
going anywhere. We know that he's relegated to purgatory his
fault because he signed the extension. So don't get me wrong,
I'm not feeling sorry for him, but he stood out.
And when I watched them play, and it's painful, But
(06:31):
when I watch them play and he is, they're mentioning
his name on a regular basis, not because of how
good he's been, but because of good he is. I
want to see that from ninety seven, and I think
that's a fair request considering the amount of money that
he's making and the type of capital they've invested in him.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, one understanding. You talk about Jalen Hurts and the
season you talk about Jalen Carter. He plays eighty six
percent of the plays for a defensive tackle. Sep, that's
a ton that's crazy, that's crazy. Were crazy talented.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
But you hear him.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
He comes up, he comes up in the running games,
he comes up in the past game, he gets sacks.
You hear his name a little bit more often when
Ada Hudcherson he's playing ninety one percent of the snaps. Like,
let that sink in for a second, Like, Yeah, it's
great that he can play ninety one percent of our
snap So I appreciate that from our second pick overall
on twenty two to one. Now on the other side
of that is where the play is at, where the
players being made, where the tackles in the backfield, where
they're getting to Jalen Hurts. Because even though Jalen Hurts
(07:24):
was ugly yesterday, he dropped back twenty eight times. Yeah,
he dropped back twenty eight times. So at some point
it has to be it has to look different, and
we can't be saying that all year long. Because sheep
we start doing the show, it feels like yesterday, right,
we've already played ten games. We're going into week twelve now,
like the season is getting shorter and shorter and shorter,
(07:46):
and we're still trying to figure out who exactly is
this Detroit Lions team in totality.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
You know, I remember early last week you and I
talked about whether you like it or not statement wins.
All right, you're looking for the one win on a
schedule that forces everybody else to look at you and say,
see they're coming. Okay, that's a team that you got
to watch out for. There's gonna be a reckoning here,
(08:11):
and the Lions still don't have it. Now, I'm not
saying every team does. Like people in the chat are
talking about, Hey, how good the Pistons are. They've been awesome.
Nine straight wins. Where's that? Where is that win? Okay,
it's nowhere? But they play eighty two games. Okay, it'll
be there eventually. Maybe it's against Houston from earlier this year.
I don't know. But it's not like during this nine
game stretch it's been like, oh my god, I can't
(08:33):
believe they beat this team and this team and this team,
you know, Dallas and Washington cares right, but they've got
eighty two games to try and maneuver that Detroit's. It's
a much more finite window of games that you can judge.
You say what you want about Philadelphia. Look at their wins,
whether it be Tampa, whether it be Kansas City, whether
it be the Rams, whether it be Green Bay, whether
(08:53):
be Detroit. They've got five high quality wins right now,
and I think Detroit is still looking for theirs. We
still haven't found it.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah, but that tells me, and we talked about this
last Thursday, we broke it down. What that tells me is, Yeah,
the offense may be very inconsistent. And you know, for
as much as a j Brown, he cries wolf and
he complains, how about you get your ass open before
you talk about it? Okay, giving up on routes if
you're gonna be complaining to the media all the time.
But I digress because it's not about him. Their defense
(09:21):
is so good.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
It keeps them in games.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
It allows Jalen Hursts to stow around forever. It allows
them to struggle with the offensive. The offensive line and
Saquon Barky run the ball until they find that one
touchdown or they find those two plays. It was ugly
against Green Bay, but because that defense is so good,
eventually that's other defense plays. It's not about the offense.
It ain't about what they do, and I use ain't
(09:43):
for effect. It's about us. We'll just keep stopping them,
keep stopping them, keep stopping them until eventually Jalen Hurts
connects to Devide and Tate Smith. Eventually Sakuon Barkley breaks
that run off the right sideline, which might be a
little bit a lot harder since Lane Johnson's out, But
they stay in the games because of the defense, and
eventually they will figure it out. The Detroit lines, aren't
that blessed right now? That offense, yeah, it's good. Sometimes
(10:07):
that defense it's good. Sometimes we don't.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Know where we are.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Where's our strength?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
The Eagles have a strength and it's the defense, and
they are locked and loaded.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
One hundred percent.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
The identity of this team, we love that word in
the course. Well, the identity last year obviously was the
offensive line, Okay, and we knew it was going to
take a hit. I don't know if we have if
we can give this team an identity just yet. And
somebody in the chat said this, he was this is
(10:37):
why it pisses me off. We are ten games in
and all I hear is we need to figure it out.
One play away, we'll get better. It's been five years now.
I completely relate to that frustration. I really do. The
only thing I would ask you is this, before the
season began, this is why I use expectations a lot
(10:58):
in life. Before the seas and began, what was your expectation.
I think you said eleven wins or twelve?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Adam, adam twelve?
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Okay, I had thirteen. That means at some point they
were going to lose four games.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Now, I sure didn't expect it to be six and four,
so I'm not gonna But could I see them winning
their last seven games considering their competition? Damn right, I
could without question. I think they're gonna win their next three. Okay,
when they got the Giants at home, they got the
Packers on Thanksgiving, but a quick turnaround against the Dallas
at home too.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
I'm glad you said that. Let me let me let
me let me let me, let me let me ask
you a question.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Okay, you said, we're gonna win our next we can't.
We could win seven, respectfully. So you look at the schedule,
you look at how it was laid out, and maybe
one of them in Sofa might be a little bit
of yourself, right, But outside of that, just looking at
the record, I mean looking at the in terms of
the schedule and.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Who they play.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
The defensive lines as was destroying the defense the Lions
right now, defensive lines was giving us the most problem.
So looking at the schedule coming up, yeah, it's like,
you know, you're playing the Giants. Giants, aren't The Giants
defensive front is real.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
It is good.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Giants defensive front is real.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Then you got to turn around see the Cowboys defensive front,
which isn't that good, but the offense is Look green
Bay in between the Green Bay, Green Bay, Chicago got
the Vikings again, all these defensive fronts that we had
to play. So, yeah, the teams as a whole, yeah
we match it well, we should be able to be.
But the defensive lines is what I'm looking at for
the teams that remain. We played some really good defensive
(12:27):
lines and what I saw against Kansas City the Vikings.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
And now this Philly against Philly that's it's cause for concerned. Absolutely,
I'm not predicting their winning seven. I'm saying, could you
see it? Absolutely? A lot has to be fixed, But
I do believe they have the capability to do that.
That's all.
Speaker 6 (12:46):
I think a lot of people though they're thinking about
the playoffs right now?
Speaker 7 (12:50):
Can they get there? Can they win these games right now? Yes?
Speaker 6 (12:53):
But how they looked against the teams that they're going
to be measured up against when everything counts, And that.
Speaker 7 (12:59):
To me is what leads me to be a little
bit weary about what.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Can you explain? What do you mean by everything counts?
Speaker 7 (13:04):
Yeah, effectively when you get to the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (13:06):
You know, to start the season, a lot of people
were like, hey, wake me when we get to the playoffs,
because everybody thought, man, they're gonna waltz the twelve thirteen
wins and then when it really matters, that's what we're
gonna wake up and pay attention. But if you're paying
attention to this regular season, the types of teams that
they're gonna face in the playoffs, they're losing those battles
right now.
Speaker 7 (13:24):
You've said it all along, what does that signature win?
Speaker 6 (13:27):
And that to me is what has me a little
bit more apprehensive than probably the Brad Holmes and the
brad Holmes bots.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
As my old guy Flanner would say that we.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
Are good people, I'm not necessarily good because they're lining
up against teams that are gonna bring that punishment on
the defensive line.
Speaker 7 (13:43):
And now it seems like every team with a brain.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
Knows even if we don't have those horses on the
defensive line still to tackle them.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
I get it, I understand the concern. All I'm saying
is I could envision them possibly doing it if they
could fix some things. And somebody brought up a really
good point, Dallas interior defense is really scary, Kenny Clark
and Quinine just as scary as as some others. Excellent point,
very valid point. Okay, hoping that yes, Detroit's gonna get
a little healthier. I'm not using injuries as an excuse
(14:13):
by anything, though, but in fact, I do believe there's
some guys who are going to help this team defensively.
Who's going to help them offensively? Now, the complaint that
I heard a lot from this morning, and understandably so,
Brad Holmes didn't do enough to fix the offensive line.
I would remind you, well, he said that about the
defensive line. If you recall you look at history from
(14:38):
twenty twenty twenty one or twousand, two thousand and twenty one.
I believe there's at the trade deadline. I think there's
been only eight offensive linemen who've been acquired at the
trade deadline. And I think it goes back further than that.
I think I get the wrong year. You can verify that.
I think it's the wrong year. There's it's it's not
(15:00):
something that's easy to acquire. Other teams have and I'm
not saying they shouldn't have. I'm just wondering what could
they have done that would have satisfied us?
Speaker 4 (15:10):
For me?
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Absolutely, you and I were calling for Jalen Phillips for
a long time. Okay, remember it was a third round pick.
Detroit doesn't have one. How do you get creative? That's
the thing that I think a lot of people want
to look at. But this goes back to this, you know,
this whole belief of a window for this team, and
he didn't do some things that everybody wanted them to do,
and it hasn't so far paid off just yet.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
No, it hasn't It's not necessarily about you know what
you can do now, it's about Brawnholmes's job is to
put his team in a situation where things like this occur.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
You're prepared for it, you're ready for going into the season.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
You knew that you wouldn't have Frank rag Now, you
knew you wouldn't have Kevin Zeitchler. You knew you were
drafting Tate Ralegian. You knew you were moving Graham Glasgow
to your sinner and you're starting Christopher Hogney as you
left guard. You didn't know if that was gonna work.
So this is what you do. Let me keep eyes
on offensive lineman that I can potentially bring to this team.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
If Bleep hits to.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Fare well, congratulations, it has currently hit the fan. That's
what it looks like. So where's the next move? Where's
the gun and where's the bulleting chamber. Where's the preparation
for a moment like this? Where's the expertise in a
GM that we've given so much credit to rightfully so,
but this isn't one of those times.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
That's what you can do.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
You can prepare for a situation because you knew that
this was coming. It wasn't some unforeseen thing and all
of a sudden with the Tredy Deller are like, wow,
our offensive line is bad. How that happened? We kind
of knew that this could be the thing. We our
sinner told us. He's more comfortable at right guard.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
That's his favorite position, is what he said.
Speaker 7 (16:35):
Ye, so you're preaching two thousand and two.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
By the way, I'm sorry two thousand and two, eight
offensive linman since the trade twenty one. Since two thousand
and two, there's been eight offensive women at the trade dead.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
You guys are preaching, And I just wanted to add
on that because every time you ask what was the
Lion's best position, it was the offensive line.
Speaker 7 (16:56):
The reason why I'm a little bit disappointed that he didn't.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Bolster that a little bit more while we're in a
mid of a Super Bowl window or garage is because
it's not the lineup that you want to have to
say that is. It's the one that has to be.
You know, it's not just by happens since oh he
just so happened to put together. Note, Jared Goff needs
that line for sure. And so when you're talking about
all of these teams who've already the ones that have
solved you, what have they done?
Speaker 7 (17:18):
They've they punished you when you.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Did have Zeitler and those guys on the on the
offensive line, they knew how to that. If we're gonna
beat them, it's getting the golf. And that's what very
leads me a little bit of a little disappointed.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I totally get that now. I am not glossing over
this fact, all right, So please don't take it this way.
I just think it's important to make take this note.
When people talk about pressure, and people talk about Jared
Goff's inability to move and everything. Who's been sacked more
than anybody else in the NFL?
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Anybody know Russian quarterback.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Cam Warder cam Ward's forty one times? Sorry cam Ward?
Is it yep?
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Right?
Speaker 3 (17:51):
You know who's second, Drake May thirty eight. You know
who's third, Justin Herbert not real mobile, Gino Smith twenty
seven fields twenty seven, just got benched, all right. Jalen
Hurts has been sacked twenty six times, Daniel Jones. So
sometimes those numbers can be very misleading. And you've taught
me that, and I get it.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
There's a difference with that too, though, Well, understand those
mobile quarterbacks one hundred percent, they do get sacked just
as much as Jared Goff. But what happens is those
mobile quarterbacks still can make things happen. They still have
those players where they get off they get off point,
they get off kilter, and they still can make things happen.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Right the second Jared Goff gets off kilter, it's going
to be a bad play.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
And by the way, sometimes those sacks are because they're
moving outside the pocket, which is something Jared Goff doesn't
do super well.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Which is what we were talking about, Like, what do
we matter of fact, what do we talk about in
terms of one quarterback that's playing so well? And I said,
I got a wait to see players on his defense
and that with Sam Darnold, Yes, four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Later, don't steal my Braylen's bum please, okay, bear with me,
Bear with me today. We've got Braillan's ballers and bumms.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
It's just one of those things for detray lines yesterday
where and they miss Sam.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Laporta, Like, then, I'm glad you said Sam.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
That he is a damn good offensive titan. Sorry, kids,
he is a darn good tight end in this league.
And you saw it because they were looking for him
a lot of the plays. Anyway, it's not just that.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
I think it's just blocking as much as anything else, blocking.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Miss him tremendously.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Getting to that fact, yesterday was one of those days
where everything that could reer its ugly head, everything that
was potentially a conversation. Everything, whether it was you know,
Jared Goff if he doesn't have enough time, whether it
was the offensive line, whether it was the running game
being able to run between the tackles, what everything showed itself,
whether it was the fourth downs and going for it
too much and eventually that could come back.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Everything that could.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Went wrong went wrong, and it was one of those
days like everything went wrong.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah, it's well said. Love for your thoughts in the chat.
We'll get you as much as we possibly can.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
We want to make sure your voice is heard, so
we greatly appreciate you taking some time with us today
and the brelan Ewards Show. We will talk specifically about
your golf. On the back end, Jared Goff is a guy.
Anytime this team struggles offensively, that's where the blame goes.
Is it fair. We'll get to that after this from
Martin Jakes and Ben Johnson.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Corporations, with the government, even your insurance company will do
whatever they can too.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Withhold their liabillion, withhold your conversation. Don't let that happen.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
First thing you do is you contact Ben Johnson Law
and how you do that. Reach out to vinfights dot com.
He is the finer. He's been fighting for a very
long time. Let him fight for you.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Whether it's a.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Verdamint, verdict or a settlement, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
He wants all the smoke. They are trial attorneys. That
means they want all to smoke.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Man Live.

let the good times cruise with sun Cruiser and Woodward Sports.
Please drink responsive playing say we bet. Anytime the Lions lose,
(26:33):
maybe even some of the unimpressive wins, the focus goes
to the quarterback. This is all part of the job. Okay, sorry,
it just is. I don't think Detroit is any more
unique than any other market. The lack of belief now
in Jared Goff might be at an all time high
because of what we saw against Minnesota and because recently
(26:55):
what we saw against Kansas City and what we've seen
against Philadelphia. I think a lot of people have pushed
Green Bay out of their minds. It was the first
game of the season. You got some people in new positions,
especially a rookie right guard and a rookie left tackle.
They almost understand that. But ever since the game against
Chicago and you saw what they did against Baltimore, I
think there's a belief that, Okay, this team should be
able to go on a run, right. I think it's
(27:19):
at an all time low in people's belief with Jared Goff.
I don't think it's necessarily fair, but I do believe
it's an all time low. How do you look at
people's reactions to Detroit's starting quarterback.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
I think their offensive line was horrible yesterday, an offensive line,
and most of their losses has been bad. So when
your offensive line is bad a quarterback that depends on
the offensive line of providing protection. Because everything that we
say about Jared Goff is if given time, Jared Goff
can pick you apart, and it sounds sexy when you
say it, but it sounds sexy when it happens.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
See, when you don't give Jared.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Goff time yesterday is typically what tends to happen, especially
when you have a defensive line that's that good as
the Eagles were last night. So it's not one of
those things where people should overreact. It's just this is
what it is. Like this has always been if you
give Jared Goff time, which for the past four years
they have. They've had Kevin Zeiler, they've had Frank rag Now,
you had Taylor Decker a little bit more actually a
(28:10):
lot more healthy than he is this season.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
You have Panasu ascending to that point.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
So you've had that for the better the better part
of four years, you know. And in there you've had
some other offensive linemen that were Pro Bowl offensive lineman
Jonah Jackson, So you've had that, But you've had some
moments when there's no Frank rag Now, or you've had
some moments where Taylor Decker's been out and you've seen
some chinks and armor. This year, you're seeing a lot
(28:35):
more because this offensive line to start the season healthy
is nowhere near as good as the offensive line has been,
and now that you have bang this offensive line that's
already not as good.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
It's banged up. Offensive linemen are missing.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Now you're down to your second and third string lineman
on an offensive line that's not good. So you really
have to start there before we talk to Jared Goff. Now,
golf's going to be golf when you don't give him time.
He's not going to be extend plays, be able to
extend plays. He's not gonna be able to get out
of the pocket and throw passes down the field like
Baker Mayfield some of these other quarterbacks that can move
(29:09):
Justin Herbert, that can move just enough to Justin Herbert
can get out of the pocket. You know, he can
get you twelve yards if everybody is committing to the
blitz and is an open spot.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
That's not what Jared Goff can do. But we know this.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
We paid him fifty three million dollars a year knowing this,
So games like last night can't happen, and all of
a sudden, everybody's like, oh, well, Jered can't do this.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
He can't do this.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
News flash, Jared Goff has been and always will be
who he is.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
It's play a little game here. Okay, I'm gonna ask
you guys, on a scale of one to ten, two
questions about your believability. Ready, okay, Braylan, believability in the
Lions one to ten? Where is it?
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Five?
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Kool Aid?
Speaker 7 (29:54):
Seven, Brendan, I.
Speaker 12 (29:57):
Have to agree with this, cool, like probably seven.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Higher eight all right now. Believability in Jared Goff kool.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Aid, Oh, golly, six.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Six six running seven again? Yeah, I would say about seven.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
Five.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I believe in them equally because they are they're connected.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Yeah, okay, Well we're all close with our rankings with
the team and the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
Yeah, gosh, it's a great exercise.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
I just don't wonder where that would have been after
last week.
Speaker 8 (30:32):
Now.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
In fairness to him, as he said right away, he's like,
be careful, don't read too much into this win over
a bad Washington defense.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Much like what's gonna happen this coming week coming up?
We know what's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
They're gonna play the New York Giants, who also have
a really good defensive line. They have a really good
defront for all first round draft picks. But they're gonna
beat the Giants, and then it's gonna come back, just
like they beat the Commanders and then it's gonna come back.
It's not about winning for me, that changes the narrative.
It's not about necessary beating teams. In the NFL, gonna
win is always important. It's only thirty two teams, so
(31:02):
when you get one celebrated, it's important.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
But it's the.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Teams that you're beating, it's how you're beating. And what
does that win look like against the Giants?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
And do they struggle all game and then pull it
off just because they're a better team overall than the
Giants in the end, and they beat the Giants by ten?
And now we have to go into green Excuse me,
Green Bay has to come here, and we know what
Green Bay's defensive side is. Once again, the offensive side
a lot of question marks on that side. They have
not been the same since Tucker Kraft. But that defensive
line is just much like the defensive line that we
(31:31):
saw last night, and they create problems.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Interesting Mike Jesus five, he's underscore. I think it's JII.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
And half the question is what is the belief in
the Lions has to do with the playoffs. Obviously it's
the playoffs doing what are you gonna do in the playoffs?
How Friday you go in the playoffs. When I'm looking
at the playoffs, I'm looking at the teams that are
gonna be there.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Correct, all right, here we go. The Rams.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
They're not beating the Rams right now. The Seahawks, they're
not beating the Seahawks right now.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Eagles.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
The Eagles just proved what they could do last night
in the bad that the wind blew for both teams
yes day.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Taylor Hurts sucked and Jared Goff sucked. So what did
you get? Who defense was the best?
Speaker 13 (32:09):
It seems like, yeah, Tennessee sucks, Sorry, sucks.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
I think Vanderbilt sucks.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Tennessee sucks because they do. And also you stick with
the NFC rest the forty nine ers.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
That wouldn't concern me.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I'm being funny right now at this point about Tampa.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
When I'm looking at it, Tampa's getting guys back as well,
just like we're saying the Lion's getting peoed back.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Tampa's gonna get players back.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
And well, they also looked like you could run all
over too.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Okay, go ahead, true, we haven't necessarily doing that too well,
but You're absolutely right it Right now, where the Lions
are at, I don't have much belief that they can
beat those top three teams. Now, anybody under that, sure,
I hear you, those top three teams. I don't have
a belief because that offensive line right now, it's so
far in comparison to.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
What they have been completely understanding.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
It's legitimately for and this is no knock to the sea. Look,
I love you guys, just I want the Lions to
do as well as you do. The weapons that we
have cannot be the weapons that we have if we
cannot get protection up front. It's the same thing that
we said when he lost to the Viankings, right, It's
the same thing we said against thee It's the same
thing we said at the beginning of the season, regardless.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
If it was Opening night or not, and if we
didn't plan in the preseason.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
If you can't protect Jared Goff, if you can't establish
the run, I'm on rons bron.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Does not play.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Actually doesn't mean James does not matter. If the play,
none of it mattered. None of it mattered because you
couldn't establish it. And look, just because we admit there's
a flaw or we want to be proven a little
bit more. Right. Doesn't mean you're a hater and doesn't
mean you can't stand a team. You still we love
our teams, okay, Love the Wings, Love the Pistons, love
the Tigers, love the Lions, love them all. It doesn't
(33:48):
mean you can't bring out well, you know what, I
would like to be proven a little bit more than
what I've been proven right now. Nobody necessarily bought in
the Wings right away on a five game winning streak.
We like the way where they were playing. I love
the Pistons. I love Kid Cunningham. I'm glad he's got
his own shoot. JB. Bickerstaff, I said from day one,
is the best coach for this team at this time.
(34:08):
I think Trajan Langdon's the real deal. I think Jalen
Duran is going to be a star in this league.
Caid Cunningham is already a superstar. But just because I'm
saying I'd like to see him play a couple of
other teams before I get caught up in it. It's okay.
It doesn't mean you're a hater. It just means you
want something a little bit more. Same thing with the Lions.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
I don't know. That's not play the go back game.
But let's go back for a second.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
The thing that pisses me off so much in terms
of watching the Lions so far this season, as just
related to the offensive line is this was a kind.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Of like we knew all of this in January. You
knew all this in January.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
You knew who was leaving, you knew who was retiring,
you knew who you weren't gonna pay.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Did they know Zeitler? I don't think they knew Zeitler
was retiring in January. Okay, it came a little bit
closer to it.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
They should pay him. You're talking about Rag.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Now, wet Ragnow, I'm saying now, yeah, I apologize, ye.
And then Zeitler was he got signed for nine million,
I believe in tennis, and they.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Should have paid that nine min because going back to this,
and this is why I say, let's go back to February, then,
like once you knew it hit the fan, what is
the Lion's been best?
Speaker 2 (35:12):
That you brought it up offensive line? And they've known
that since.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
They drafted Pine Sue when we thought we already had
a good offensive line, Say yoh, you know, we'll get
the Pinece s soue. Why are you gonna get pine
So you can get Jamar Jefferson to spit on somebody,
or you can get or Jamar Chase is what I mean.
You get Jamar Chase, or you can get Michael Parson.
They went with an offensive line even though they pretty
much had a pretty good unit. They stacked the unit.
The unit becomes one of the best in the NFL.
You pay a quarterback based off this offensive line being
(35:36):
that good, and the running game takes off, the play
action takes off to the point where Jared Goff becomes
the best play action quarterback in the game. You know,
this is how you win. And in February of this year,
you decide to say no, thank you to paying the
guy last year that was phenomenal in Kevin Zeitler. You
don't go pay a center to back up Frank Rag.
Now you decide to we'll just move a guy into
(35:58):
that spot. You can't just move a guy into that spot.
You had the best offensive line in the last four years,
you and the Eagles. And if you want to give
it to Eagles, fine, you had the number two offensive
line last four or five years.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
You can't just move a guy. Hey, you move here.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Hey, we'll just draft this guy from Georgia and maybe
make him a center and maybe make him a guard.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
So you can't play that game in fairness. Glasgow has
played there before, true with the Lions, but to your point,
remember they started Ratlage there.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
But it was like the spare frame. Yeah, it's like, hey,
we need a spare a frame against the Saints. We'll
beat the Saints. We'll be fine, or insert team here.
It's not hey, this is the permanent move. Hey, this
is the new starting spot, like this has.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Been where your nucleus. This has been your nucleus.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
So originally what I thought was, okay, if you're going
to try rat Ledge at center, okay, and it was
only a couple of days, I think. But if you're
going to start him there and you want Mahogany to
be your left guard, that means to me, Grand Glasgow's
either a your right guard or B he would be
your backup guy if you had a more legitimate guy
there at the right guard spot, if you had re
(37:05):
signed Zeitler, and I don't know what that would have
done to their financial ramifications, but let's face it, they've
got a lot of money. Since the trade deadline, they
had a lot of money. The fourth most I believe
in the NFL. They've obviously re upp with Aiden Hutchinson,
extended Aiden Hutchinson. It's one year, man, Okay, it's one year.
Zeitler was your right guard, rat Ledge is your center,
(37:26):
left guard, your Mahogany, and Glasgow's your swing guy who
can play just about any of those positions. I think
that would have been a lot better situation than what
they have right now.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
In the situation that they're in right now, Like this
is what I don't have belief in him is because
I don't believe in Jared Goff behind this offensive line.
Like the way this offensive line is acting right now,
you need Joe Burrow.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
You know what else? To your point, a healthy jo
Every other team probably thinks the same way. What is
it that Minnesota did so well? You broke it down?
They just feasted on the a gap?
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Did say?
Speaker 3 (37:58):
What did Philly do? Took away the short passes like
you said? In other words, they knew that Detroit's method
of operandi was we've got to get the ball out
quickly because our offensive line cannot sustain blocks. They played
right into their hands of Philadelphia's defense.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
And their weapon to counteract that, their weapon to counteract that,
they can get on the outside where they don't have
to throw in the middle of the field, you can't
knock the pass down. I guess what he's on the
ir right now, and that's Sam Report, right. Saan Laporta's
the guy that you can get to on the outside.
He can beat man coverage. He can be safeties as
well as linebackers. He gives you open windows in space
to get him the ball like Brock Right. Look, respect,
(38:35):
he's not Sam Reporter. He's not San Reporter. And you
saw that last night. So when you don't have Sam
Report to help in that, it takes even more from
this offensive line.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yeah, somebody had said, name some Chicago Bears offensive lineman,
and look at you know there're seven and three to
lead the way, you know. Joe Toney is the first
name that comes to mind because of how good he was,
and Jonah Jackson, the former Lion, is another one that
comes to mind. And Drew Dolman their center. Okay, so
I don't know all their offensive linemen. I don't necessarily care.
(39:06):
They've been able to find a way to get it done.
And I think I think that's the really hard part
for Detroitter's too. The hard part is that you've got
a Chicago Bears team that is now one what four
in a row, and suddenly they're on top of the division.
And it pains us. It pains me too.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Stop doing that, Detroit fans, like we're talking about the
Detroit Lions. Stop bringing up another team. They're seven and three.
Since you want to bring them up, they're ahead of you. Like,
why are we bringing up the Chicago.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Bears right now?
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Well?
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Name their lineman. He just named three of them.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
And guess what.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
They bought them all in the offseason.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
And they paid all of them to help their young
quarterback out. They say, you know what, in order to
be better, we got to help Kayler Willis, We got
to protect them, give him some sense of comfortability. He
went on, got three guys and paid that bread and
Darnell right on the right tackle side. Did you see
what he did to Bosa, MaTx, Crosby and others?
Speaker 2 (39:54):
This year?
Speaker 1 (39:54):
He is dominating these defensive ends, So go do your homework.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
He's a big man.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Fifty eight.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
He picked up he picked up somebody last week one
hand and slammed it.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Went viral.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
We're talking about your team and what we don't have.
We're not talking about them and what they actually do have.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
You know that that hasn't been brought up nearly enough.
I think it's a great point by you that you
know who Jared Goff is.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
It's hard to.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Move him off the spot a year ago. Okay, stood tall,
stood clean, stood confident, right, plenty of time, was able
to go through his progressions and checks that has knowing
that that's who he is, and that's okay, let's embrace it. Okay,
we know who we got. There are certain quarterbacks in
this league who are that. Not everybody has to be
Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson. But if you're gonna do that,
(40:41):
if you're gonna play that game, then you better make
sure you've got the guys in front of him that
allows him to be at his strength. And it doesn't
seem like they have that right now, if not in
the starting lineup, at least in the backups.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Yeah, you have to have those guys. You have to
have him ready for a season like this just coming up.
You look at what's going on in this season for
Jered Goff, and we talked about this is why I
say I pay attention to wins. It's not just that
you got the win. You put fifty two on somebody respect.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
When was it?
Speaker 1 (41:09):
You know what it looked like week two? You know
what I'm saying, who's the next punt? And they look
really at Was it the Cincinnati Bengals with Jake Browning?
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Was it the Cleveland Browns?
Speaker 1 (41:18):
I can't even tell you it was quarterback In the
rest of the game, I know it was Flacco.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
But like, these are some wins.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
These are the high spodge of wins, and then all
of a sudden, it's the Chiefs game, and then there's
the Vikings game, and now there's the Eatings game and
a couple mixed in in between them. So the Lions
haven't shown you enough to believe in them. Are they
a playoff team?
Speaker 5 (41:35):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (41:36):
Yes, but it's Wayne.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Well, what did we say last week? Not only did
we talk about the need for the signature win, if
you will, but also the reason we thought it was
big is because at some point some path may have
to go through Philadelphia. Do you want to go there
in the middle of January, just based on historical facts,
(42:00):
based on Jared's ability to throw the football on the wind.
And you know, I get it. It can get windy
and Seattle, it can get windy and San Francisco, it
can get windy and Green Bay too. I doubt it's
that windy and Tampa moist wind if you will. For
Tampa wouldn't be bad anyway. If you know that, that
(42:20):
makes this game even that much more important because now
they've got that proverbial tiebreaker with you. So let's just
say you win the division. You're probably outside of Tampa,
you're probably the Yeah, you're probably the weakest division winner.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
And what sucks about that is Lions at home for
the Vands last year, it didn't.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Matter, right, So that's why somebody in the chat says, look,
the Lions are coming home. They're gonna be fine. I
would remind you it's their home game against Minnesota. They lost.
I would remind you what happened with Washington a year ago,
and they lost, so and Tampa scared the hell out
of it and the Rams scared the hell out of it.
Speaker 6 (42:53):
Some of the things that used to be constance aren't
necessarily constance.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Any never believed in it. I just don't. And every
single week you can look at the scores. I don't
care what sport it is. You can look at the
scores and you can recognize, you know what, there's a
lot of teams that don't always hold surf high Atlanta.
It just happened, right, soft Serve, Am I wrong there?
I mean, yeah, they just look right, didn't they lose
(43:17):
to Carolina? Wasn't that a home game?
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I believe it was back down, back, back to back,
overtime loss.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
Yeah, I mean it's absolutely crazy. So things like that
are gonna happen. I don't think it matters the most.
Arizona was at home. San Francisco beat the tar out
of them.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Where where are we with?
Speaker 1 (43:35):
And maybe I'm maybe I'm jumping ahead maybe for the
next hour, fire away?
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Where are we with fourth down?
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Because it seems as though when someone else was calling
plays but Ben Johnson, excuse me, but Dan Campbell was
your He's your identity. He's the guy that's you know,
going fourth and fourth down, and now it's a thing.
But now that he's the play caller and the head coach,
it seems different because everybody seems pissed that they're stay
on fourth down and then they didn't take a field
(44:02):
goal here there, or and then punt in some of
these situations. So where are you with Dan Campbell fourth
down going for it? Because it seems as though not
people have an.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Issue with it.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Yeah, seems so. He has said that's who he is
and that's part of their identity. I believe that I'm
fine with that. My issue is if you're going to
do that on a fourth down and two, and you're
gonna run Jamiir Gibbs up the middle and you've got
im on Ron Saint Brown trying to help out on
the left side where a big monster is tearing you down.
(44:33):
I think that's a problem. Schematically, why you wouldn't run
David Montgomery is beyond me. But whatever, I have a
problem with the fake punt. If you're going to if
you're gonna have a fake punt and they keep their defense,
not their special teams, they keep their starting defense out
there because they've got an idea. Can you just do
me a favor, just bring your offensive guys out there?
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Please?
Speaker 3 (44:55):
Wouldn't that be wouldn't that make more sense? Do I
want to see David Montgomery running or do I want
to see Grant st running?
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Yeah, man, it's getting cute.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Yes, I don't like the get desperate.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
It's getting okay. This is how I look at it. Shell.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
You can change something for a specific moment because it's
a specific moment. You're playing in Philly. It's on the road.
You got nothing going for you. It's windy, it's affecting this.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
That.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
And the third, maybe you kick a field goal to
it here because Jake Bakes he seemed like he could
make it in that weather.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
Maybe you putt. Maybe you put them and you played.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
The field goal position because of how good your defense
is playing. There was a football game twenty seventeen, Michigan
versus Michigan State. You know, everything with me doesn't go
back to Michigan. This just makes sense. It was a
rain game. Do you remember the monsoon game. Yes, one
team chose to say, you know what, we're gonna look
at these elements. We're gonna play it as such. Michigan
State ran the ball the whole game because eighty want
(45:48):
to pass. They were smart. Mark Dee played it the
right way. The other coach in Michigan did not play
it that way. He chose to pass theball all game
long because that's what they had been doing all that
season to get the go all going with John o'corn,
why are you pass the ball in the mine sooner
and you end up throwing six interceptions? Yeah, I understand
this is what works for you. But in this particular day,
(46:10):
let's get away from that. Let's run the ball, let's
stay too, Let's play a turnover free game, and let's
see if we can beat them. INNI in with the
wind being like that, with the conditions being like that,
and with it just being a different type of flow.
Different type of game is one with your defense. Your
defense was playing extremely well. Play to that and it
won't take away.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Call the adjustments right, and no one will look.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
At it and say, oh, Dan Campbell's not Dan Campbell.
Oh he's scared of the identity. No, Dan Campbell made
a smart call and decided to kick some field goals
and go for just in these particular circumstances. That's how
I feel about the fourth down. No, I don't want
Dan Campbell change who he is. Sometimes sometimes in moments,
you can adjust for that moment and it actually be
a smart thing.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
That's how I look at yesterday.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
I think it's an excellent take. More on the chat

Speaker 3 (53:36):
Were back in the mat Bren appreciate that, well, then, Fellas,
thank you for that. We were just talking about the
fourth downs, and I do want to get to another part. Yeah,
we were looking at that. We were talking about the
fourth downs. Just in case people need a refresher. Fourth
and one from the Detroit forty eight. Do you agree
with going forth there? Fourth and one Detroit forty eight
(53:57):
early in the game, first quarter?
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Yeah, this is this is this is who Dan Campbell
has been. Okay, And that's.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
The one where Jamior Gibbs goes right up the middle
and gets stuffed. All right, all right, fourth and two
the Detroit forty three is the fake punt. Yeah, all right,
So we've already said we had a problem with that
fourth and five from the Philly thirty two. Now you're
kicking a field goal the wind probably not right.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
He made one from that same exact distance too, Jake Bates,
like the one he made was from the thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
Eventually kicked it. He got three on the board. But
to your point, I mean it.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
It's like a damned if you do, damn if you
don't situation in terms of how you break down and
compensate around it. Because if I sit there and say, no,
you you punt that, and do you take a penalty?
Speaker 2 (54:46):
Try to draw mom all sides like they did.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
And then if you don't, you move back one, make
it a little easier for the punt punting and pin
them down there, like play the game like sometimes you
got to play the game within the game, and it's not.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Just well, this is what we do, this is who
we are.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
Sometimes just let me dive into another side, because then
to go somewhere you've never been shop, you got to
do some stuff you've never done. And I think in
terms of being a good coach, you gotta evolve, You
have to adapt, you have to adjust, And I feel
like Dan Campbell is a really good coach to stagnant
right now, like he hasn't taken the next step forward.
He's a damn good coach, but he's still stagnant in
(55:20):
terms of not allowing him to say, look, let me
take myself out of the situation and let me see
if this isn't the right call for this situation. I
think he's still scared because what happened in the forty
nine ers.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
I see Steve in the chat said use Montgomery. We
don't disagree with either, Steve.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
No, you're right.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
So fourth and five at the Philly thirty two, if
I'm not kicking a field goal, I'm probably going for it.
I don't know how you flip the field in that regard.
So that was the one where you and I were
watching the highlights and I asked you, that's Jamie on
a crossing route. The throw is round his knees. Could
you have say he should have caught it?
Speaker 7 (55:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (55:59):
Could have was a bad throw. Really good wide receivers
haul that in probably anyways that.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
He's used to catching. And I saw it in that
moment too. Jared Goff's trying to get the ball and
he's versus. He's trying to get the ball to Jamas
as best he can under current conditions. But Jamo's a
house call, like Jamo thinks about the hoss call his
touchdown before that, what was he Randy came on.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
Caught it and ran for touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
Jam was always looking to catch and run at the
same time. Sometimes it's not a catch and run. Sometimes
you just get down, get the first down, and live
to see another So I can see how when watching
that film, I can see how Jared Goff could say, hey, look,
I'll get the ball up for you a little bit.
This is how it's supposed to go. Hey, look, Jamie,
I get the ball up for you a little bit.
On that, but on players like that as first noun,
(56:43):
just kind of go down for me.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
I throw the ball low.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
If the ball's low, go down, catch it, get down,
you know, we live to play another down versus trying
to kind of catch it on the run and make
a play. And that's what happens with the pressing aspect
of things, Chef, when you start to lose some games,
when you start not to be the big dog, when
you start to try to feel, oh it's pressed and
I got to make a play. I gotta do something
that's a play where if you see that throwing at
fourteen fourteen is if he can't, he'll go down and
(57:06):
just grab it.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
I love that explanation. That's really good. Fourth and goal
from the Philly three. Fourth and goal from the Philly three.
You're going forward there. I think this is where you
were talking about get the field goal right.
Speaker 13 (57:18):
Yeah, And this is towards the end of the game.
This is the last one, so that's no, that's this
is the second. That's the second last one. And then
the last one was fourth and three from the Philly
forty five. That was an incompletion that a'mon rossaying Brown.
You and I both looked at each other and said,
wait a minute, brock Wright is wide open.
Speaker 3 (57:33):
Where his eyes go, where his trust goes. Four obviously
predetermined going to fourteen because if he had to do
over again, guarantee that he's watching that film on the
sidelines and going I should have gone to eighty nine
and then fourth and three Philly forty five and incomplete
pass to a'man Ross Saint Brown. You're in a desperate
situation there, you're going for no matter what.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
That's desperation. I think what happens is I think the
win which we are talking about. You can look at
the game is also the opposite side. So you're looking
at the game, I might look, man, they're not getting anything.
We aren't getting anything.
Speaker 2 (58:02):
We'll go forward. We trust our defense. Well, that's the
other side of it.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
Since we're not getting anything and they're not really getting
anything either. One of these field goals can do more
damage than you may think. You know, two of these
field goals. You know, field position can do a little
bit more damage. That's what I'm talking about, taking that
next step when you can look at a game situation.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
I mean, score with six to seven and a half time,
I know, score with six to seven and a half
to sixty six.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
I mean, excuse me, six six at halftime? Right, one
of them saying because of something that we'll.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
Talk about in a second. But it was six to
six at a halftime.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
That's what kind of game is gonna be, which means
three points matters in a game like this. This isn't
a game where it's inside and it's the NFL twenty
twenty five and all off. It's an outside win the
game the effect of the conditions. They got it six
to six at the half.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
Yeah, six to six. I don't I don't want to
be too phyperbolic here. But regarding Philadelphia, but I'm gonna
say this and get your reaction because I believe it.
I think Dan Campbell goes for fourth down a lot
against teams just in intimidation. Might be too strong of
a word, but to send a quote unquote message.
Speaker 2 (59:05):
Right, don't care who you are.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
We don't care who you are. This is what we're
gonna do. I don't think Philly gets a rats ass
about that. I think Philly's just like, go ahead, man,
I mean, give it a shot if you if you
get it, you get it. I mean that's a team
that has a mindset of championships, okay or championship. They've
been there, done that. You're not intimidating, you're not pushing
them around. You're gonna have to earn everything you get
(59:29):
against that team. I'm not saying they're the best team
in football, or that they're you know, Billy badass, you know,
the second coming of the Broad Street Bullies back in
the flyer days. I'm just saying that is a team
that I don't think you're gaining anything by doing something
like that. They'll regroup and go Okay, So they got
it on fourth down, big deal.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
You don't have to play games with a team like
the Ether just just just just man up and play
against them like man up and do what you gotta do.
Speaker 2 (59:53):
Mono y, mono Land. That's not a game's gonna work.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
It's not gonna be games and sneaky, sneaky gamesmanship. And
oh I pulled the woolgo pulled wall over his eyes
on this play. Not the Eagles, at least at that defense,
maybe on the offensive side of the ball, because they
got a lot to fix over there. And now Willane Johnson,
now they're gonna be in trouble. But that defense and
the defense is getting better. The defense is getting back
to what they were last year. A lot of talks
(01:00:15):
and just not being the same defense that you saw
last year. Well, last two weeks in a row, they
played against the Green Bay Packers and they played against
the Lions. They held them sixteen points in totality. I
say that at the Eagles defense is figuring some stuff out.
But this also goes back to another move that's not
talked about.
Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
The last two moves.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Excuse me, last two weeks, Eagles defense has looked a
part corrects up. You could say best defensively last two weeks.
What is a move that they made three weeks so
they bought a certain person back, and now the defensive line.
Oh see, little moves like that, Like little things like that,
that's what I'm talking about. That's where you get credit
in whether it was Sirianni or Howie Roseman, whoever the
(01:00:52):
hell you want to put it together. That's a great
move because now all of a sudden, Jalen Carl's worrying
about playing and not spending on people. Jordan Davis has
elevated his level of playing, although he's having a really
good year. And then you have Jalen Phillips now two games.
He got much better this week, starting to feel more
comfortable with the Eagles having beg out there. I saw him,
I see him coaching those guys up the whole time.
(01:01:14):
And that's another good move by that the Eagles defensive line.
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
Yeah, don't tell me he doesn't make a difference. He
may now be playing a lot, but he makes a
difference on the sidelines, in the locker room and when
he is playing. I've always liked the guy like that,
not just because he's a Detroiter, but I've always wish
he would.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Have played that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
One of my biggest regrets is that Brandon Graham did
not play at Michigan during Michigan was Michigan, and I
leave that at that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
So a lot of really good stuff in the chat.
I love looking at people's emotions to a certain extent,
and obviously a.
Speaker 7 (01:01:46):
Lot of supertest too.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Okay, we'll get to those for sure. Let me just
dive into this because, as Brilin said, it was thirteen
six and a half, Philly was up. They were up
six to nothing and Detroit able to tie it. They
should have gone ahead, but they had to tie it
because Jamison Williams, for as speedy and special as he
can be as a wide receiver, did something that was,
(01:02:09):
you know, stupid yet again, I mean, there's no other
way to describe it. Okay, you may not like the rule.
I don't like the rule either. Okay, I don't like
the NFL rules. It wasn't the dumbest call I've seen
all weekend. The dumbest call was when Trey McBride fought
out three forty nine ers for a first down when
out of bounds, got up and literally went like this
for a first down and They gave him a fifteen
yard penalty from his conda, which I think was one
(01:02:31):
of the weakest. That was a week call, though there's
a week call against about Detroit and the gave Philadelphia. Yeah,
just Sai gave him, you know, the first down to Philadelphia.
But when you look at that and you see what
Jamison Williams did, you're not supposed to touch the damn goalposts.
Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
Period.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
I don't like the rule. You don't like the rule.
It's a rule, Okay, I said this earlier. I don't
like that it's fifty five miles an hour on the lodge.
I think it should be seven, and most people go
seventy five or eighty. But it's still the law. The
NFL has a law, and it is don't touch the
damn field goals. That dude knows it, but he did
it anyway put his team in a tough spot. You
(01:03:12):
can say Jake Baits should have made it. Fifteen yards
is fifteen yards with that wind. And the other thing
that bothers me is he comes jogging the sideline, he's giggling,
he's laughing. I got in the end zone. Everyone's patt
him on the back and all those other stuff. I
remember hosting shows back in the day. Detroit's getting their
ass kicked thirteen to two by the Brewers or whoever,
and Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera are laughing in the dugout.
(01:03:33):
People are living this dude's laughing as he's jogging off
the field after he just put his team in a hole,
and nobody says a damn thing. All I see with
people patting him on the back. I want someone to
go up to him and say, you know what, this
bull crep doesn't last here any longer. I want the
Dion Dawkins to Keon Coleman routine where he said to
Keon Coleman, love your brother, but the kid gloves are off,
(01:03:54):
the padding on the back is over. I'm done with it.
And what did they do? They sat Keon Coleman in
that game against Tampa. I'm not saying you sit Jamison Williams,
but I'm tired of this act. It's over.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
Move on before I get that man like you, I
wi't want to ask one question. The fact that he's
coming off the sideline and everybody's dapping him up and
all that, and this that and the third who's told
him that that was wrong. Who's told him that that's
a file? How does he know that that's a file?
Because the Lions placed a lot of value on touchdown
celebrations around here, and we love it when we're winning.
(01:04:28):
You're right, we love all the celebrations, We love amar,
we love all those things. So they put effort into it.
Is Dan Campbell telling him what the rules and rules
are because I've seen this play a lot and it
has not been called a lot of times.
Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
It got called once earlier in the year.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
I want to say it was JSN grabbed the gold post,
but he also grabbed his.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
Growing area if you will.
Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
He did right when the ref was right up in Evelands,
so it looked like he was putting as you know what,
So it got caught in a different manute does he
know that? Realistically, focus on the game, focus on the game,
to your point, But they value the touchdown. That's what
this culture is nowadays. That's what this NFL is nowadays.
Roger Goodell, he heards is loud and clear when we
said the no fun League and they've added the fun back.
(01:05:14):
Who down in Allen Park is mandating and what these
guys do I know because the fact that he was
coming up after everyone saw the yellow flag and no
one said anything like, that's not just Jameo. You're right,
that's everybody as a collector. That needs to be addressed
from Dan Campbell.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Yeah, I agree, And Dan Campbell did answer the question
about it. He's like, I told him that that's never
gonna happen again. Well, that's all fine and dandy. I
don't know how often does a player need to be reminded.
I don't know the answer to that. Okay, you shouldn't
need to I shouldn't ever. I don't think coaches before
every single game or before every series say to them, hey,
don't forget you can't touch the goal post.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
But when did that become a rule because I dunked
on the goal post and never.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
Got a f I think twenty twenty one or two. Okay, Okay,
so yeah, again, I don't like the rule. Brainley, All right,
there's a lot of things. You know this. I don't
like what the NFL does in a lot of different situations.
But if that's the way it is right now, you
don't put your team in that situation, right, Okay. People
can blame Jake beats all they want. He's the dude
who put his teammate in a bad situation, okay, and
(01:06:15):
it's got to stop. That's all. I'm not saying, cut
the guy. I'm not saying trade him. I'm not saying
I wouldn't play him at all. All I'm telling you
is this selfish type moment of look at me has
got to stop. You can have a great celebration doing
something else and we laugh at it and it's fun.
But that's the stuff that hurts your team. And until
the NFL gets wise and stops ruining it, okay, then
(01:06:37):
you're gonna have to deal with it. And that's the
unfortunate part. We'll get to some super chats when we
come back, but first I want to tell you something
about less Stanford and how good they have been to

Somebody say that we were going after Jamo.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Oh yeah, somebody in the chat said, I'm tired of
Jamo being singled out. This was on Golf and Dan.
Sometimes people tune into the Brailan Edwards Show at different times.
We spent roughly forty five minutes on Jared Goff and
Dan Campbell combined. I think that's pretty fair.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
Spent twenty minutes long telling them how bad the offensive
line is and as you can't win with them. Yeah,
nothing was mentioned about Jama until the one play in
which you now take the kick back further. It's forty
eight yard cake, you missed the extra point. Now as
post being up seven and six, you're down six to six.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Is kind of what we pointed out.
Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
That's you know, it's it's interesting how this for a
long time, and it's okay if we all do it,
I do it too. And that is, if there's a
player who we love, we have a hard time criticizing them.
So somebody recently in the chat, No, Jamo isn't to blame.
We could have won that game. Besides Jamo's one mistake.
(01:13:18):
I don't care how many mistakes it is. It's the
timing and what you've done and how you should have
learned from this. I thought there's no question was a mistake.
There's no question it costs this team. I don't know
how much. I'm not blaming him for the loss. I'm
just tired of seeing that aspect of it. There are more,
(01:13:38):
there's more blame to go around than Jameson Williams, but
to ignore it is derelict in broadcasting today.
Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Every one I'm persenting, I put it to you like
this way, am I tripping about what that penalty was
until no, I don't really give it. I don't really
give it, you know what, And I don't think it
penalty should be a piloty. Yeah, but the fact that
mans it is a penalty, and it's not about that
game because you're right, at the end of the day,
they went to halftime. They had plenty of time to
come back and win that game without that penalty affecting.
And where it does affect them is if it's still
(01:14:06):
done now in year four, when it was done last.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Year and the year before that and the year before that.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
What happens when you if you make it to the playoffs,
what happens if Jamo gets a pick, gets a penalty,
it gets one of these moments in a big game
that it really sets you back.
Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
And now it really hurts you, and it's not like
this one.
Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
It's really more glaring because it does what if that happens,
that happens when it's not addressed today or when it
wasn't addressed last year, it wasn't one of the dressed
in the offseason. That's more of the conversation that we're having.
You don't want this to be a situation to really
really can affect you.
Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
By the way, I'm not sure it'll be. I'll be
interested to see who your top five are this year
or top ten is this week for teams. I'm really
interested in just the whole NFL, of the whole NFL, because.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
I still don't like these stinking Broncos. I know you don't,
but I like that defense.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
They've beaten the two Super Bowl participants from a year ago.
They've done something right. They beat the Eagles earlier this
year twenty one to seventeen, and they just beat the
Chiefs twenty two to nineteen. Their offense doesn't scary you
know what they are.
Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
They're the exact same team as the Philadelphia Eagles. However,
their offense is more fluid, like they're the same thing.
Their defense is a ranking ball. Speaking of the Denver Broncos,
they're just like their defense is going to do enough
to keep you in the games no matter.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
How bad you play.
Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
The difference is bot Nix is playing a lot smoother
than Jalen Hurst is right now, and they have a
better sense of what they want to do right now
with Rgie Harvey as well as Troy Franklin. When they
can get those guys open, So they're very similar teams.
I would buy Denver more than the Eagles right now.
Speaker 3 (01:15:42):
How frustrating were you? I don't know if it would
have made the difference, but Rokisin gets that pass interference call.
There were two glaringly terrible pass interference calls yesterday. One
was in the Miami game and then of course Detroit's
I don't care if it ends did the game this
way or virtually ended it for Detroit no matter when
(01:16:03):
that would have been called, I don't care if it's
the first quarter or the final quarter. That had no
business being called. Now, you're a receiver, you tend to
gravitate towards the offensive guys, But how did you view
that penalty? I thought it was ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
First of all, I understand what you're saying, but it
does matter because that's in the first player to get
that's in the first player game, and you want to
call that, or the first series or the second quarter,
you want to call it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
It's not even a tiki tag file.
Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
It was a non non.
Speaker 1 (01:16:31):
Fiul We'll get to that. But if you want to
call that non fiul tiki tag file, by all means,
if you're talking about at the end of the game,
when you're deciding these games, when which warriors have been
out here fighting for fifty nine and a half minutes
getting after it, and this is Monoe.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
Mono is one on one and is right there. And
it wasn't a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
You don't call that like you don't call that, but
getting to the play it so there was no call there.
I legitimately watched the reps allow Philadelphia Eagles dbs, who
did a tremendous job. This isn't about them tremendous drop
all night, being physical, being up with Almarad Saint bron
being close to Jamison Williams and putting hands in Brock race.
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
I watched all game and I didn't have a problem
with it, because that's football. When it gets to.
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
November, it gets cold outside. You started getting some of
those deciding monks. Brendon, I see you shaking. Hey, you
know what I'm talking about, Like it's supposed to be
like that, supposed to be physical.
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
Let them play a little bit. It's outside, it's cold
for them to end the game that way.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
And let a guy that made a play like he
did exactly what he was supposed to do in that
moment play really good defense, gave his team another chance
to go down there and see what they can do.
That was BS and it was being They called a
couple of players like that in the game. And the
reason why I won't make a mention of those players
because the Lions played bad on offense. So I don't
want to make this. Oh, the Lions got holes type game,
(01:17:41):
So that's not where my rhetorics. They called some BS
cars last night, and they gave Philadelphia a couple outs,
three in particular. But that one right there, shep that's
agreed to you.
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
That's agreed.
Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
I thought when I saw the flag fly off. I
agree with Jacob H. Schinenberger here in the chest. He said,
he said, if anything, a J. Brown pushed off, that's what.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
I thought, pushed off to get to the side.
Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Yes, that's what you thought too. Yeah, so we're all
in agreement there. We all thought it was gonna be
an offensive PI And again that's not us being Lions
FA football finchure, that's what I thought. I thought it
should be a no call on either one. But if
I thought, okay, there's a flag that's going against Philly,
move them back right, or just decline the penalty punt
(01:18:27):
and Detroit gets it back. I don't know what they
do with it if they get it back.
Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
But still one of my two favorite things I hate
the most is then DB's do both of them.
Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
One is when the.
Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
Quarterback overthrows a wide receiver and the DB's do this, sir,
you were cooked.
Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
I don't even know what you're talking about. The other
one is when DB's is when DB's make the reaction.
Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
After a pass in the fance, like when they make
the surprise like, sir, you know you hell when Rocky
scene it yesterday is the first time in a very
long time when I said, he has every right to
make that face and look like that because he's he's damn, what's.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
That face again?
Speaker 7 (01:19:03):
Bright?
Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Do you think do you think if that's Quinan Mitchell
because of the reputation, that it's different.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
No, you're not going that, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
They're not going, Yeah, because it was racket sin.
Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
Because it was a j Brown rock your sin to
your point.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Right, Yeah, let's get to some super jests. You want
to kool aid, and then we get to Braylan's bums.
I shouldn't. I probably shouldn't say bums first, should I.
Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
Man, it's a fun show.
Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Yes, bombs, we get bums like the Lion's office lines
as they were bums in that moment.
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
It's not a bumm in since that you are a bum.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
But there's also a positive side.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
Yes, there's the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
Okay, there's the ball.
Speaker 12 (01:19:42):
Ball.
Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
So I want to make sure that I'm stressing that,
especially when you look at kool Aid, who's always smiling.
Brandon's in a good mood. Kool Aid's in a good mood. I'm,
for the most part, in a good mood. Go ahead, buddy.
Speaker 7 (01:19:52):
Hey, you know, sometimes it's just I'm in a good mood.
Other times y'all are crushing it.
Speaker 6 (01:19:56):
Today it's a little bit of both, man, But set
out to rim nineteen seventy one.
Speaker 7 (01:20:00):
Do a super chat. We see you, Thank you for
the support.
Speaker 6 (01:20:03):
Nick two bucks, Nick, I see you, man, He's number
one in the chat today.
Speaker 7 (01:20:07):
This guy has been all through the chat. Fourniteight super Chase.
Speaker 6 (01:20:09):
His Brad could have drafted the center, but he wasted
picks on Martin and his sores sores Manu Vaki Wingo.
Speaker 7 (01:20:17):
This is why Howie is the best.
Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
Golly boy.
Speaker 7 (01:20:21):
They let Jurggons sit behind Kelsey.
Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
I will say, list uh, how do I phrase this?
Every GM, I'm about to get my shep on for
a second. Every every GM misses, like Howry Roseman has
missed as well as Brad Beach is missed as well
as everybody misses. The difference is a lot of these
picks that he just named. I don't know a lot
of people trying consistent projects at these spaces. There's been
(01:20:46):
a lot with Brad Holmes as it relates to moving
up to draft the project or just drafting the project
in spaces where you're like, whoa who, we can use
that third round pick, we can use that third round pick.
We can use that third round pick, or we can
use that fourth round pick or that fifth round pick.
There's been a lot of spaces like that. And guess what,
what's the one that's paid up? And if you dare,
(01:21:08):
tell me, Kirby Joseph and amar Say Brown, those weren't
trying something. Those weren't projects. Those were wide receivers and
the safety that you actually believed in and you were
super excited fell to you. Those were the players you
wanted in those particular drafts. I'm talking about those moves,
those Giovanni Manus that he just named Kobe Sarsdel that
you just named the Seoni Bakis And yeah he's injured
(01:21:31):
right now and we hope he gets back.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
But the where the projects that have hit yet that
I agree with? I wonder?
Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
Yeah, that's a you know, you're you're talking about some
six round picks. Like I think Harry Rosen's the best
GM in football. I'm happy with Brad Holmes too, don't
get me wrong, but there's no question Philly loves it.
I would just remind people. I mean, he did help
draft Nelson Algalar, who was a first round wide receiver
and didn't make it. He did draft jj R. Siga Whiteside,
(01:21:59):
another second round wide receiver who didn't make it. Not
every general manager is going to hit on all of them,
some of the names you bring up, that's fair game,
you know, if I just don't, I don't want to
miss on my first three rounds. I think it's really important.
And he's missed on some second rounders. There's there's no
(01:22:19):
question about that. We didn't bring up Enis Rakestraw. I
look Philly drafts a couple of years ago. They took
Mitchell and right, both of them. One's a star, Mitchell's
a star. Dejeane's pretty damn good. In the song, Okay,
Detroit takes Arnold and Rakestraw. One you barely know his name.
(01:22:42):
The other one was coming along fine, but the concussion
kept him out this week and he still has a
little growth. Okay, wasn't taking his higas Quinnon Mitchell, but
he's a guy who's supposed to be a one corner.
That is. The second round has been a problem, and
I understand why people feel that way. I'm just telling
you there are general managers. When you win, all that
goes away. It doesn't matter. I remember having a conversation
(01:23:05):
with Martin Mayhew once we were in Oakland, i think,
and I said to him, you know, we were talking
about certain draft picks that Matt Millen may and Martin
was with Matt Millan of course, and he says, look,
you know, I didn't want a certain guy, or Matt
didn't want a certain guy. But Martin, here's the thing.
When you're the general manager, you're married.
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
To that pick.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
Whether the scouts were wrong or not, You're the one
turning in the name. I'm turning in Brayleen Edwards.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
Third.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Overall, i'd better be right because you're the one who's
gonna get the blame. That's just the way it is.
And Brad Holmes is getting blamed for the second round
picks and it hasn't worked out so far. Let's hope
it does. If you're talking about fourth and fifth and
sixth like Sioni Vaki, if he's helping me on special teams,
I feel pretty good about it, you know what I mean.
(01:23:51):
So I think a lot of it depends on where
you're taking these guys. Anymore's in the super chap there.
Speaker 7 (01:23:55):
Oh yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (01:23:56):
The people have definitely been letting their voices be hard today.
Thank you guys for the support. H T Bone in
the chest bone five down of super Chat and I'm
gonna I'm gonna do this T bone and I'm gonna
read this back to back T bone says Dan Campbell
said the best Jared Goff is Nolamar Jackson and wing
that says golf has never beat Fangio.
Speaker 7 (01:24:14):
So a couple of digs at Jared Goff there.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Okay, he's open, he's open. To those digs. Keybone open
to those digs because he didn't play well period, and
the offensive line didn't play well either, And we have
stressed that here today. They all have to be better
and they can't be better just against the Giants. They
can't be better for just one game. The loss, win, lost, win. Hey,
(01:24:38):
they haven't lost too in a row. I don't give
a crap. Okay, because guess what Philly lost too in
a row earlier this year. What you care about is
getting it fixed where it translates against one defense to
the next, to the next home e road. It shouldn't matter.
Speaker 2 (01:24:52):
Yeah, I agree that it's never about to back to back.
Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
It sounds good. Yeah right, we haven't lost back to back.
You also haven't won in f the championship. Man, you
know what I'm saying, So you can have those conversations.
Speaker 6 (01:25:03):
But yeah, yeah, I got a couple more here. I
want to definitely read Greg. Shout out to Greg Thomas,
one of the main stays in the chat, one of
our members. If you haven't, you can become a member
of what we're sports. Get a little bit more too.
I feel like I know Greg number three in the chat.
One night in our super chat. He says, I just
want to win next week. That's all that I want.
Tell l V two dollars super chat. He says, thank
(01:25:23):
you Brad for putting the blame. Oh, thank you Bray
for putting the blame where it belongs. And he puts
bh so and then uh, hey din her two dollars
super chat. He wants to know this is I'm and
Ross still a top five receiver.
Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
In the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
Who's Who's he asking me?
Speaker 7 (01:25:41):
And chef just that's open ended.
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
You would be the raake out of Yeah, have those windows?
Look yesterday, had those windows?
Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
I think about it every single time.
Speaker 7 (01:25:54):
Windows like y'all won't be to talk.
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
No, lookuy damn Goods here in his league. You know
he has shown you when he's shown you last couple
of years in a row wide. It's the rout running,
it's the hands, the things that he's done, it's the
attention to detail, it's knowing how to play this game.
He's made big plays in big games. So he's definitely
still one top five receivers league. But this right now,
you see Jamar Chase. Yesterday, Samar Chase, he couldn't get
(01:26:20):
any passes. Sometimes you have bad games because of what's
around you. Amar Ron Saint Brown, he was opening a
little bit yesterday, but kudos to Quenyaon Mitchell, who we're
talking about. Quenya Mitchell gets paid to He is a
first round draft pick and for a reason, he put
clamps on amar Ron Saint Brown. To go with the
offensive line getting beat up on the defensive last what
does not make for a good receiving game for almar
(01:26:41):
Ron Saint Brown.
Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
And he doesn't running four two, so he can't do
what Jamo did.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
I try not to get too hyperbolic about guys when
they're really good, and I'm not going to do it
after one game, when they struggle or when the offense struggles.
I think aman Ron Saint Brown is still a top
five wide receiver. The performance last night does not weigh
my opinion of that. I Am not going to get
caught up in the moment and go, Okay, now everything's broken.
Dan Campbell forgot how to call plays. I'm on Ross
(01:27:08):
Saint Brown forgot how to run routes. The offensive line
forgot how to block, and Jared Goff can't hit the
broad side of the barn. I'm not going to go
that far. I can admit that they were all bad
at the same time, and that's disappointing and frustrating, and
I want to see more from him. But I'm not
going to think everything is broken just because of one
bad game.
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
Yeah, that's why I phrased it like I did. I said, hey, look,
we'll see how this continues.
Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
Look, but now as we get further into the season,
I can't wait to rank these wide receivers again because
I've been watching how this year has been. And to
say that he'll stay in the top five at the
end of the season, I can't promise you that right
because wide receivers are playing like JSN. JSN is trying
to make everyone take notice. I don't care who you
say is number one.
Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
It ain't.
Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
It ain't really like JSN like to catch on the
sideline yesterday. It's not that he caught it with one hand.
It's it's it's not that he called with one hand.
We've seen one hand catch before. Hell, I've made three
or four of them in the NFL. It's the fact
he called it with one's, switched it without paying attention
and just kept on going like nothing didn't matter. It's
it's the ease and the flow of the one hand.
(01:28:09):
That boy is a pro blimy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
He is, and there's a couple other ones too, but
he's a good problem.
Speaker 5 (01:28:15):
So good.
Speaker 3 (01:28:15):
Yeah, somebody in the shot.
Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
That's the realest thing someone ever told me coming into
the NFL. He said, it's just like you're here to
take somebody's job, just like you're here to try to
make your mark and start climbing that ladder. He says,
somebody is gonna do it to you next year, somebody's
going to do it to them the following year, and
it's gonna keep going. The league waits for nobody just
because you're one space in one year. If you're if
(01:28:40):
you're not busting your butt and continue doing things to
evolve improve your game, you will get passed by.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
Really good thoughts in the chat, and I think most
of them are right from Steve o' baby. He says,
it hasn't been one bad game Green Bay, Kansas City, Minnesota, Philadelphia,
those who have been bad games. That's facts without questions. Shop.
But we have seen this old line look good versus
good D line. It's it's been a.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
We calling Baltimore a good D line. Right, I would
beg you to cautionary look at that.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
Again, few and far between, somebody had said, you know,
Brad didn't do his job, didn't trade for an offensive lineman. Well,
so there there were two offensive linemen traded at the
trade deadline. I'm not going to try and fool you
and try to convince you that these guys are stars
right now, could you have addressed it absolutely? Trevor Penning
went from New Orleans to the Chargers for a six
(01:29:36):
round draft pick. How have the Chargers been not blaming him?
I'm just saying, where's the impact it threaty five six?
It's been minimal? Okay. The other, uh, the other was
Cam Robinson going from Houston to Cleveland for a sixth
round draft pick. How good has he helped the Cleveland offense?
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
So all I'm saying is it's easy for us to
want something. There has to be a want on the
other side for someone to give you some help. I
think what we we're always trying to be specific on
this show, what we said before the trade deadline. I'm
sure he remembers it, but what we said was go
trade with Tennessee and try to get Zeitler back, is
(01:30:24):
what we said. And then we said, and then figure
it out. Okay, if that means Glasgow stays at center,
you move rat Leach to left guard. You move Ratlache
to center, which wouldn't be ideal. You moved Glasgow where
he was last year at left guard. He comes in
as a swing. Whatever we thought bringing Zeitler back. What
would it have taken. Would you have sent a let's
just say it's a fifth round pick. It's not going
to be more than that. Would you have sent a
(01:30:45):
fifth round pick to Tennessee for him? Yes, damn right,
you would have. Yes, absolutely. I don't want to sound
like Jack Nicholson and a few good men. You damn right.
I wouldn't, but you absolutely would. Okay, all right, when
we come back, Bread Braylan's Balls and Breiln's Ball, Santia
after this from Lady Jeans and Black Rock. That was
a star studded cast.
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
By the way, it's one of my favorite movie. That's
pretty good about you, by the way, Black Rocks. Colonel Jessup,
he said, you know what, man, you gotta give me
the quoting that mood. Let me sit back, all right,
look at plans.
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
Work it in see if you can work it in.
Speaker 2 (01:31:19):

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):

Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
I want the truth because I'm getting both, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):

Speaker 1 (01:32:03):

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Let's get to let's get to still go.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
Let's get to Braylan's ballers and bums, shall we? And
then we got the mailbag, so Braylan started off for us,
who's your who's your baller?
Speaker 7 (01:36:12):
Baller?
Speaker 3 (01:36:13):
Yeah, I like that, By the way, I like to
have to make sure that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
They not bumps this year, but we'll see what happens
in two weeks. My baller for this week, man is
uh is it's Bryce Young. There's no sexy way to
get around. Let me just say it like Brightce Young
four hundred and forty eight yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions.
He brought in a win in overtime against the Falcons.
He broke the Carolina Panthers passing yards.
Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
In the game record. But it's not about the record.
It's just about resilience.
Speaker 1 (01:36:47):
Like I remember when he got drafted, you know, and
it was you know, he's coming off being a Heisman
Trophy winning national champion, the whole whole nine yards and
he gets drafted and then all of a sudden. I
want to say Frank Wright was the coach, and it
just he's in it. One of the worst hit way
as it relates to the owner, like David Tepper has
never been a good owner. You see what they did
in year two of Bryce Young. They literally sent all
(01:37:08):
his weapons to Chicago. They sent their whole future to Chicago,
and they got nothing in return for it, and he
had nothing to work with. And then all of a sudden,
you see, oh he's too small.
Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
They ain't say he's.
Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
Too small when he was one of the Heisman Trophy.
Now he's too small. He's not a good quarterback. They
should have went with C. J.
Speaker 2 (01:37:23):
Stroud. I still think Bryce is a better quarterback. I
always have. I might be wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
It is what it is, but it's just about resiliency.
He stayed the course, and here Dave Canelis have found
some magic. It seems maybe not magic, but they found something.
So kudos to a young man standing course. Like four
hundred and forty eight yards and three touchdowns in the NFL,
that is nothing to sneeze at.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
So shout out to you for standing course.
Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
I love that because it's not necessarily just the unfield
performance it's how he's handled.
Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
Like a true gentleman. Professionals. Nobody's had anything to say
about him like that's tough.
Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
Good for him. I like that a lot. So I'm cheating, Okay,
I'm taking I got two people, all right, I've got
Josh Allen. Josh Allen had three touchdown passes, three touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
Runs, restaurant two three.
Speaker 4 (01:38:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
The Bills ran fifty three plays and they scored forty
four points. Josh Allen now has seventy five career rushing touchdowns.
That ties Cam Newton for most by a quarterback in
NFL history, and he did it in twenty seven fewer games.
So that's one of them. The other baller for me
is Derris Jenkins from the Pistons.
Speaker 7 (01:38:31):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
Now, now, it would be easy to say Kate Cunneyham
because he's got a shoe deal, and I get it.
You could make him a baller just about every single week.
But Jenkins over the last three games Braylan, he scored
twenty four and to win over Washington, he scored eighteen
in the win over Chicago, in which he played a
career high forty minutes and seven seconds to be exact,
(01:38:52):
and also I had a career high twelve assists, and
then he scored nineteen points, had eight assists in the
win over Philadelphia, hit five of eight from deep. Five
of his six shots that went through the hoop were
from long range. And you talk about a kid season
the moment, getting the best out of making the best
(01:39:16):
out of his situation. There's no pouting there. There's a
self belief and now there's a team belief and a
fan belief. So yes, am I cheating? Yes, but I'm
going with Josh Allen and Derris Jenkins as my Braylen's
bawlers for the week.
Speaker 2 (01:39:31):
All right, there, you got two on there.
Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
I did see anybody else got one?
Speaker 5 (01:39:35):
Dad?
Speaker 7 (01:39:36):
That's fine, man, I mean just the Pistons in general.
Speaker 6 (01:39:38):
I gotta do this for the for Dante one five
to one, the Pistons as a whole, the nine game
winning streak, the identity being there no matter who's in
the lineup, I definitely gotta recognize him and shout out
to you with the Jenkins love. This is a guy
that covers since his uh, his summer league. You know
when he went undrafted and they brought him in. And
(01:39:58):
the first thing I said is some of the Scott's
I was sitting was this guy's NBA player and they
were like, yeah, we know they got one, and it
took some time from to get this NBA shot.
Speaker 7 (01:40:07):
But it's a good pool about you, man, it's a
good play.
Speaker 3 (01:40:10):
How about you.
Speaker 12 (01:40:11):
Paul Reid, Pistons player when he came in h four
days ago versus Chicago, comes on game twenty eight points,
thirteen rebounds, eighty five percent shooting.
Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
That's just that's in two triples.
Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
Really good.
Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
I love it, Okayome, Yeah, a lot of Piston love
so far.
Speaker 1 (01:40:30):
Okay, what about I'm tuning in this basketball night Pistons
off this weekend. I know he played it nice and
see I'm tomorrow I'm coming in with a whole full
breakdown where I believe the Pistons are as they go
for thirteen.
Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
I thought cool, I thought kool Aid. I thought kool
Aid was going to go for Lucas Raymond because he
had a goal on the sist and went over the
Rangers last night. I'm stunned he didn't go Lucas Raymons.
Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
You did so now you have three?
Speaker 7 (01:40:54):
Now you sneaking.
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
I didn't give him some love this morning, man, we
appreciate it. How about Braylen's bum I just.
Speaker 1 (01:41:02):
Would never understand, like the type of disrespect that you
can have in your heart to spit on somebody like
I just for me, spitting on someone is the most
egregious thing that you could do as a man, especially
man and man spin on another man, spit on anyone.
Let's say that to spit on somebody is just disrespect
on so many levels. We saw early on in the
year with Jaalen car the opening game of the year,
(01:41:24):
he spit on Dallas Dak Prescotty's spitting that area.
Speaker 7 (01:41:28):
Why is this happening?
Speaker 1 (01:41:30):
Well, you notice stas you see and I can go
there too if you want to tell me something about
those guys down south.
Speaker 2 (01:41:34):
Because this is what it is to be. But there's
no excuse for spitting on someone.
Speaker 1 (01:41:39):
And then you get an opportunity in the locker room
since you want to spit on Jalen Ramsy, since he
locked your ass up, since you want to spit on him,
you get an opportunity at the locker room say yeah,
I spit on him, But you didn't do that.
Speaker 2 (01:41:51):
You know what you did? He said? He said, I
never opened my mouth to that man.
Speaker 1 (01:41:56):
First of all, we know you was lying when you
said it, like you start stuttering, your host change, you
switched and went this way. You were looking dead on
this way. And I never roped my mouth to that man.
Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
And then clearly like what what is the video evidence?
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
Don't we live in the era four K? So I
just I don't respect it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:15):
I still think he's the best receiver in league, but
like I have no respect for him, Like you won't
be hearing me saying high praises outside anything but his
on field play, because the man can play.
Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
But that right there, I don't respect stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:42:27):
To spit on someone to legitimately, I don't even want
to say the word anymore. That right there is egregious
and they need to have deeper fines and deeper penalties
for individuals to do this, because what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
Right now is not enough.
Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Well said, And not to mention the fact that Jalen
Rams he is an accomplished guy in his own right.
He's been a hell of a player for one time.
You should appreciate guys who play your sport at the highest.
Speaker 1 (01:42:51):
Level, honest honored to get these reps again against you.
Let me see what you got. Let me see how
you really like that. Let me see you know what
you're doing your job. I appreciate playing against you that
you did. You think I see you next time. Now
you cover me, I'm pissed. Then I got to play
with Joe Flacco and it was Jake Brown, and then
Joe Burrow is hurt, and then my team sucks. So
now I'm taking all that into account and I spin on.
Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
You uncalled for I agree, and he lied about it. Yeah,
that's the other thing. I mean, just just madam, you
know I made a mistake. It was a stupid mistake.
I'm going to apologize right now. You've had a chance
to know about it, You've had a chance to digest
it a little bit, and you still stand your ground
knowing damn well, everybody saw it on camera. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (01:43:31):
Like you said, we live at the very least, man
stand by it.
Speaker 6 (01:43:34):
Whatever got you hot, talk about it, and then apologize
for the disrespect of charge it to any heat of
the moment.
Speaker 7 (01:43:41):
At the very least, and stand on it because it
looked way weak like you said. You called it four K.
Speaker 6 (01:43:45):
Yeah that was like, hey, Cam, I'm sitting here looking like, man,
I see like little dribbles of.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
Really disappointing that a guy like that would do that.
And if you're wondering what I should do, grab one
of your PR people because you know everyone's coming there
to talk prop on your PR people. What do you
think I ought to say? Well, I would own it,
That's what they ought to say. So here's my Brailean's bum.
It's Sam Darnold. Now you's don't know how the job
in Seattle so far? Okay, biggest game of the year,
(01:44:10):
first place on the line, NFC West against the Rams.
He throws four picks. He had thrown six interceptions all season.
Long before that game against LA we talk about the
Lions looking for a signature win. Seattle needs a signature win.
I know they're good. I think I think their defense
I know you did. Their defense is really good. Let
me tell you who. They beat Steelers, Saints, Cardinals, Jags, Texans, Commanders, Cardinals.
(01:44:38):
So they're still in search of it. They've got Titans, Vikings, Falcons, Colts, Rams. Again,
they could get a couple more, but so far they're
searching for it. That's my Braylan's bum. How about you
kool Aid? Who's your Brailan's bum for the weekend?
Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
He just keeps Sam d I saw a stat that
I want to say because it was the Rams. It
was who's the defensive coordinator for the Rams? It's Steve
whoever it is. They were talking about his Sam Donalds
record against him. He's he hasn't won a game. But
they just kept him off schedule.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
That was their job.
Speaker 1 (01:45:08):
Ball game said, look, well just get to him, keep
him off schedule. They kept him off schedule. He didn't
know where to go.
Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
With the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:45:13):
A lot of times it was to the wrong person.
Speaker 3 (01:45:14):
Yeah, they confused him. There's no question. I don't want
to see ghosts go ahead.
Speaker 6 (01:45:20):
Yeah for me, I will pull the Red Wings into
this one. And it was after they won and they
just kind of tossed the puck into the empty net.
Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
Seemed like the Bason Appleton.
Speaker 7 (01:45:28):
Yeah, it seemed like the other team wanted to get
a little robby man.
Speaker 6 (01:45:31):
I don't I don't really understand what rule or you know,
unwritten rule was cross. But like you had all that
time to do something to beat them during regulation you
lost the game.
Speaker 7 (01:45:42):
Just say similar type of thing.
Speaker 6 (01:45:44):
Respect the game you lost, but you want to start
the skirmish after it just I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:45:48):
Yeah, that was Jonathan Quick, their goalie who started it,
and he's been around for a long time. You're right,
I don't know all the unwritten rules.
Speaker 5 (01:45:55):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
The horns sounded just as Appleton was collecting the puck
and just flung it in. They had already pulled Jonathan
Quick while he jumps off the bench and starts the melee,
and then the entire bench is empty. Okay, I hope
you don't mind losing a little bit of money. Wings
winning two to one. I thought it was a really
cool game because you have, you know, obviously two original
six teams celebrating their one hundredth year, both wearing iconic sweaters.
(01:46:21):
And I thought it was a really fun game to watch. Yeah,
and good for the Wings to bounce back.
Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
He has a question about the game last night.
Speaker 1 (01:46:29):
Could Dan Camill, and this is gonna sound, could Dan
can have given the ball to Jami gives a little
bit more?
Speaker 5 (01:46:36):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
Yeah, I mean I like the way they found him
in the in the passing game. Obviously, it's the most
passing yards or receiving yards he's had. I thought you
were gonna say I'd liked. I thought David Montgomery would
have been the right choice to give the ball a
little bit more to considering the battering ram that he
plays with.
Speaker 1 (01:46:51):
The Dave Montgomery yards, though that he did have a
nice drivet. They came after Jamiir gives plays true to give.
Jamiir Moore would have been able to give no more.
I'm thinking less past this period is what I was thinking.
I think, And it doesn't have to be runs to
jam because we saw that jam but gives they didn't
necessarily go anywhere, but those things when you're getting them
outside on the edges throwing the ball, find some spots.
Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
For They could have did a bit more of that.
Speaker 6 (01:47:14):
Maybe weaken up though that that defensive line and that rush,
that was the only thing that was really working.
Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
Yeah, and behind Penny's future, Brendan, who's your Braylan's bump
for the weekend?
Speaker 12 (01:47:25):
Uh? Some Michigan fans are definitely gonna be upset with me.
But JJ McCarthy was up this week.
Speaker 4 (01:47:31):
You mean nine? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
Yeah, nine bade I love it.
Speaker 7 (01:47:37):
Dislike a guy so much that I used to love
so much.
Speaker 3 (01:47:40):
Yeah, not that I just like him, I like him
no offenseive him. You know right now, I think the
hype is just ridiculous. And and by the way, it's
it's not just you know, people in a certain market,
it's nationally they overhyped arch Manning and now they're going
falling back and saying, you know what, maybe we over
hyped them in Texas. Think they overhype JJ McCarthy on
(01:48:02):
one flipping game and everybody did it. By the way, Brendan, everybody,
Pete Schrager's like, oh man, they've got their leader, and
look at all the stuff this guy says, and you
all believe in them, and it's just it gets the
can't we why can't we just sit back and say, okay,
in a nice game, let's see what happens next, Let's
see how he grows.
Speaker 7 (01:48:19):
You just brought up right now.
Speaker 1 (01:48:20):
Everybody has to be the first one to say I now,
and a lot of times in doing that they become
the first person to tear you down.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
Exactly right. How about the mail bag. Anything in the
mail bag for Braylen.
Speaker 7 (01:48:31):
Oh yeah, definitely, definitely one.
Speaker 6 (01:48:32):
We had a poll in here who's most to blame
for the Lions lost to the Eagles. Dan Campbell's at
twenty four percent. Jared Golf is at thirty three percent,
Roughs plus penalties at four percent.
Speaker 7 (01:48:42):
I'm proud of you. You're not blaming roughs people. Offensive
line thirty eight percent. They're the winners right now.
Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
It's about right, don't you think. Yeah, yeah, I've already voted.
Speaker 7 (01:48:52):
I was listening.
Speaker 3 (01:48:55):
For it. Who I voted?
Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
The old line, the ad line. Yeah, it's I need
a golf got that much.
Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
I love Detroit fans because, like when everything's good with
golf and talk talk, golf is the best.
Speaker 2 (01:49:07):
He's the best quarterback. He doesn't get enough respect. He's this,
that and the third.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
But when you have games like this and you're reminded that, look,
golf is a really good quarterback under certain circumstances, and
when you put him in other circumstances not so much.
Speaker 2 (01:49:19):
Then it comes out like, oh man, get this guy there,
he's above white, fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Three million dollars blah blah blah blah blah, Hyperboley yep
for sure living in the Yeah, yeah, sure does anymore.
Speaker 7 (01:49:30):
Yeah, you know, people sent in their ballers and their bones.
Oh good, people put in uh.
Speaker 6 (01:49:35):
I see early bird, said the Detroit Pistons is their ballers.
Let me see, crazy clown, no spit, that's a bomb.
That's instant throwing hands in the rural areas.
Speaker 1 (01:49:45):
Me and crazy clown agree on something. Okay, shout out
the crazy clown first time ever.
Speaker 7 (01:49:50):
I'm joking, Oh, Donte what five to one?
Speaker 6 (01:49:53):
My bomb has to be the Washington Wizards for losing
to the Nets and you have the worst record in
the NBA, and you know a lot of Pistons fans.
It's just that whole thing with the Wizards when uh
uh was his name, Kyle Kuzman was there was at
this point, don't be since then, even though he's not
even there anymore, Wizards are still sea red for Pistons fans.
Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
Pistons play the Pacers tonight. Pacers are one in twelve
and losers of seven in a row.
Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
Wow, yeah, Haliburry, is he that good? Jesus?
Speaker 8 (01:50:23):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
Absolutely? But my remember they lost that?
Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
I mean Indiana has that's the guy I wanted to
play for the Pistons.
Speaker 1 (01:50:33):
Was that a situation where they knew that times Callibury
was out and they can get something from him, so
they let him go and four go this year.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
I don't know what their mindset was. I mean Milwaukee
offered him more money. I think he was a little
offended by the offer that Indiana gave him. Indiana we
kept saying he's the one guy we can't let go.
Really helped held that locker room together.
Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
Maybe they don't like maybe they don't like legos, they
don't like.
Speaker 7 (01:50:53):
Real quick we got one that I think you got
cancered quickly. Is twelve and Five's twelve and five for
the Lions?
Speaker 3 (01:51:00):
Still ago?
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
No, Yes, Hey, you know what.
Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
I was shaken last night. I'm not gonna I'll admit it.
I was shaking last night, but I haven't lost it shaken,
but the faith remains.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
Yeah, Okay, that was from Uh, you're still going eleven
to city. I said, twelve and five off the table.
Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
Now eleven to six though, right, Yeah, but you picked
twelve before the season I did. I picked thirteen. Thirteen
is going to be a stretch, Yeah, because that means
they got to run the table. We'll talk more about
it tomorrow and the Brilin Edward Show. Great job on
the debut by Brandon q L eight. Happy birthday to
