Speaker 4 (01:02):
It's always fun. Which Ryan wis you can join us
on these days.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Man, it's always so fun, but it's always missing a
key element, and that's you there.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
So well, I'm telling you Anson is doing a hell
of a job, absolutely, and I certainly appreciate him. You know,
Wednesdays for me has been a little bit of a
day to uh, you know, reset my life, reset my
life so that I don't go nuts. But Anson comes

(01:32):
in on Wednesdays, and I'm glad you guys have an
opportunity to talk to Dan. He's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I love talking to him, and you know, he best, best,
best guy ever, and he's always very patient with him
no matter what's going on with us.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
He's able to dial into us.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
And tom Asaway does a great job of, you know,
help leading that conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
With that being said, tom As Away.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Hey Bray, thanks for that. What's up fellas?

Speaker 5 (01:53):
You be snowed last night, a little snow today and
guess what We're gonna have a snowy Thursday night football
game night in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
You know, it's funny. It's funny this morning or no,
I think it was last night. I was doing the
Fox stream, the Fox local thing that I do now
at one o'clock. It's just like a thirty minute newscast.
I talked to one of whoever the weather person is
that day for one of the segments, and it was

(02:23):
so funny because we talked about this dusting of snow
that was going to happen, and.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
Somebody run out and get the bread and milk.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Run out, get the bread and milk. It's gonna be nuts.
And you know, every morning the kids will FaceTime me.
I'll be at work at Fox too, and the kids
will FaceTime. Usually it's Lydia facetiming me. Luke wants nothing
to do with me in the morning. And today they
both were on Brailn and they were like, it snowed,
and I'm like, this little dusting snow was the biggest

(02:53):
deal in the world.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
The closed last year, right last year when you have
a bad one at all. But we did have those
four days that were ridiculous. Man, I've been paying attention.
They said the winner is gonna be a lot worse
than what it was last year. We had those four days.
One of them, I got my car got hit from
the side. Two days we couldn't come in. It's gonna
be worse than that this year.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I'm scared. Yeah, A little bit scared, but I gotta
wait and see what Derek Kevira.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
We ain't scared Schwartz would say, we ain't scared.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
K G.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Pete Spive A good afternoon to you. After good afternoon,
you guys doing tech. I'll be better at four o'clock.
I've been doing a.

Speaker 7 (03:29):
Wonderful A little bit of good news for me. I
have taken some of my gambling winnings over the past
couple of months. I bought some x RP out of coinbase.

Speaker 8 (03:39):
We're making some money.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Boys, Brayley, You're going to a big movie premiere tonight, essentially,
I am.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
I'm excited.

Speaker 9 (03:50):
Man.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
They've been talking about Gladiator two for the past year really,
but especially the last four months and came out today,
got the tickets.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Who's in it?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Denzel Washing is in it, Paid, Joe Pascal is in
it for Marcos.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
A couple of the movies really really really good actor.
I'm excited, but I just I just feel Denzel won't
be in a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I think, why do you say that, because this is
what movies do.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
They still you want a new character, They bring you
all these trailers and you watch they really like the
same scene he's wearing the same almost clothes.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
And every time they show him so little nervous.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
But I'm gonna just tell myself he's not gonna be
in and everything I see after that as a bonus,
I think it's gonna be well done.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You know what's funny. We were talking about this earlier
today too on the Fox Show. I miss big movies.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Man, you know what I mean, Like, aren't Marvels that
aren't like that, aren't comic book that aren't End of
the World one thousand.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
This is exactly I said too. Every big movie now
seems like it's some remade superhero marvel carry And that's great.
I'm if you're into that stuff, and that's awesome. Like
my little guys in all this stuff, not so much
the older movies and the newer old movies, but it's

(05:00):
just like to have a gladiator, to have a Wicked,
you know, you know, I mean they're calling this weekend
Glick Glick Glicked or glil later Wicked, kind of like
Barbenheimer Barbie and Oppenheimer. But those were two very good
movies last year. I mean Top Gun. Anyway, I like

(05:23):
going to the movies. I love going to the movies.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
There's nothing like it. I love it so much. Brailin
loves it, probably more than all of us put together.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I just love the experience. I'm still that big kid
at heart. I go as soon as you walk into
the doors of the and imagine because that's where you're going.
And then she may be going to the MC over here.
But you walk through the doors, you smell popcorn. You
get it, your go to nachos, I get it, nachos,
to nacho cheeses, two halipinios. I bummed from my girls
popcorn and then that's n I was more of a

(05:53):
milk guy.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I'm a raising. I love milk. Gummy Bears does a
wrecked teeth snow caps.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
I don't eat him anymore, but I just did that
shows in the popcorn now snowcaps.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
But yeah, what was the other one back in the day, Bober's.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Raising at snowcaps? Of those are the big three dots.
That's that's really good.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Especially, that's what good they were.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Like you said, your team though, that's funny because a
certain candies and once you hit like twenty five, it's like, all.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Right, that's funny, guys. We'll get into a little bit
of sports now, and I just wanted to start with
the Tigers real quick. I'm the worst person to talk
to about this because I'm just not an award guy.
It's great and everything. I'm so happy for him, but uh,
Terrek Scooba won the cy Young Award, unanimous winner cy Young,

(06:48):
fifth Tiger to ever win the award. You know, I
forgot that Willy Hernandez won in nineteen. In nineteen eighty four,
he was still Willy, so we call him Willy Hernandez.
But scoobl Erlander, Surezer, Willie Hernandez and Deeddie McClain.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
No, look, I'm different from you.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
You're You're the team Awards, Lash, the super Bowl, the Lombardi,
the Larry O'Brien. Look, I also I understand. I understand,
like when you play at an elite level, you deserves
your reward and you deserve to go out for it
and you deserve to win the season that he had
last year he was the Detroit Tigers won the Triple Crown,
first person to do it since Justin Berlander. Here, he
deserves to be the Si Young chef and he deserves

(07:30):
to have this moment. He did a lot for this
team and the team. It's happy for him as well,
So I don't mind the individual awards. It's when you
operated at an elite level, you deserve an elite reward,
and the cy Young is about elite as it gets.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
How about this man? He did it on his birthday?
That's old.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
His wife and friends walk him outside. What's his wife
have for him?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
A new car?

Speaker 9 (07:51):
Car?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I always wondered about that too, by the way, Like
how surprised can you be that you got a new car?
You can't be, I know, But like I just imagine,
like you see the commercials, I didn't imagine, Like I
just imagine, you know, being such a gazillionaire, right, like
you could do whatever you want and nothing matters, Like

(08:12):
nothing's big, right, Honey, what do you want this year?

Speaker 9 (08:16):
You know?

Speaker 5 (08:16):
I want the top of the line receiver right exactly,
top of the line range roll?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
You want exactly? It is what it is.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
But you know that's a That's a hell of a
day for the guy. I'm so happy for him. A
guy ninth rounds or half picked at a University of Seattle,
for God's sake.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Is winning on their birthday. Kirby Joson just got the
interception and that was his birthday. About that and now
you get the game.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Players winning. Absolutely incredible day for him and an incredible
day for this organization as well when you think of
where they've come from over the last ten years. Really
irrelevant in baseball, irrelevant in this city. You get rid
of erland Er, your best player, your biggest player in decades,
goes on and wins a couple of World Series elsewhere,

(09:02):
Miguel Cabrera, your biggest star in the history of probably
the biggest name that has ever worn your jersey in
one hundred years, Miguel Cabrera. Really kind of the last
couple of years have not been great and to turn
it around the way they did last year was remarkable

(09:24):
and kind of a rebirth for baseball in this city.
And again I'd like to see them do something with
it now. And all we're seeing is Hobby Bias is
going to pull it down.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
You know how individual awards and accomplishments are important, Ryan,
I tell you why, in the last ten years, the
Detroit Tigers only had two things to celebrate. One was
Mickey was chasing five hundred and when Migi was chasing
three thousand. Where I put them as the same thing,
and then it's this, it's Terry' sch cool. Obviously they
made to the postseason this year, but these are the
two accounts, the two things that in ten years.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Of baseball the Tigers fans have had to.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Be able to hold on to.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
So you need these moments sometimes so that a team
can latch on and say, Okay, the national scene they
respect what we're doing here in De Trail's well, I
think that's kind of where I line on the side
of it's cool to get deal Ward.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Listen as big a baseball fan as I am, and
knowing the game, knowing the players that are out there,
knowing the players that are available, you gotta trust this
Scott Harris, all right, he's gotten them to this point already.
And yes he had some help from Alavila, a late
charge from Alavilla's players, and we take our hat off
to Al. He took a lot of abuse, that guy.

(10:30):
So he walks into this so he's got most of
Al's players, does some drafting, redes the minor leagues, the
minor league players in the system, and I wish Matt
Roder was here to talk about it is really I
think they're top five now, yeah, and he used to
be thirtieth and now they're top five. So let's give
the guy some breathing room. Look, I don't agree with

(10:52):
the Hovey Bajas thing. I don't. But if you have
to pay him and he comes in and maybe he's
a defensive replacement here and there he saves your run
or two, you bat him eighth. You know what bats two?
I guess you take what you can get. Maybe he
hits a couple of home runs, that's what we got.
But you gotta trust him. I believe he'll get a

(11:13):
right hand bat and I believe he'll bring another arm
or two. And I'm here at Luis Severino and who
had a really good bounce back year last year with
the Mets, went from the Yankees to the Mets.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Really was their ace.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
And if they could bring him over and get him
tweaked by Chris Fetter, I want Walker Bueller here.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
We'll see.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
He pitched himself into a big contract. Now, I was
hoping he wouldn't have done that in the World Series
and he could have snuck his way here.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
But don't expect too much. But I do believe they'll
be contenders again. To the Tigers sign Trek Schouble before
he hits the free agent market. They need to. I
do think, so I do. And what do you think
that number looks like? What do you think that contract
looks like? Four hundred million over six years, eight years?
Eight years? Yeah, that's my guess. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
The longer it goes, the worse it's gonna be. Yeah,
so get it done now.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
I think a big number, but a longer year payout.
So you sign it seems like it's a bigger Oh
my guy, he said four hundred but then you pay
it out over an eight year plan. That's what the
Tigers want. The Tigers, they're gonna be who they are.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
I wonder if he was I wonder. I wonder if
he wants like a four year deal. He's got you
know what I mean, he's got scopp right, you get,
you know, two contracts in your prime instead of one.
I know, I'm just trying to play agent.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
You know this question like who's the best pitching coach
in the MLB right now?

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Chris Fetterer.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
So wouldn't you want to stay around him as long
as you could.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Unless he's going to be a manager, you know, in
twelve months. That part, you know, unless he's going to
be a manager in twelve months, I'm surprised you didn't
get the White Sox job, to be honest with you,
too early, or maybe didn't want it. Yeah, I mean
all of the above. I mean, it could be like
a Ben Johnson situation where you really believe that you're
with one of the brilliant managers going today. I mean,

(13:00):
and I think that's what aj Hinches. And I'm surprised
he finished third. I'm surprised he did not win the award.
And I know Stephen Vote did a really nice job.
But you look at Cleveland's roster and you look at
Detroit's roster, and you tell me who had the better year.
You tell me who is the better manager, not the
best guy to fill out a lineup, tell me who
the best manager was, And it's aj Hinch every day

(13:24):
and twice on Sunday. Maybe if we beat Cleveland, it
might have been different.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
And you know, you're supposed to vote up till the playoffs,
but I don't believe that for a second. I believe
they look at the playoffs as well. Cleveland went from
a below five hundred team to winning the division going away,
and they were a couple of hits, a couple of
pitches away from beating the Yankees and getting to the
World Series. So who knows, man, you know what, It's okay,

(13:49):
manager of the year next year, win the.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Division signed And I agree with you, Madas yesterday you
said the same thing, and I was like, well, I
mean what aj Hinch did in terms of coming back,
making the playoffs, almost being the team, but you absolutely
right what they were starting off the year, even though
they were projected to win the division, they.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Still weren't a good team coming into that year in
terms of what their record was. So I agree. My
only thing with the shoot with the voters not.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Getting any second place verse votes, any first place votes.
The one question I have, and we know what the
answer is, are they holding over his head twenty seventeen?

Speaker 2 (14:24):
They might and we know that have to be the case.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
And I get it, one hundred might. At the Royals.
The Royals were a last place laughing stock. They almost
make the playoffs, they did make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
They did make it. That's who finished the Yankees, that's
who finished second.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
It's true, but when you look at what this team did,
like when you start looking at the percentages. At some
point if we're talking about the regular season, If we're
just looking at the regular season, then we know that they.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Do the postseason.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
If you look at where they were at, like they
had a point point percent chance to make it to
the playoffs and everything that they were the second best
team in baseball.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
For since the All Star break, Yeah, for two months.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
I think at some point you got to look at
that as opposed to the playoffs and whatever. So I'm
cool with vote winning, but don't sit here and tell
me he didn't get a vote for first or second.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Excuse me, had one second place vote.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
No doubt about it. Guys, we're gonna have Chris Sale too. Yeah,
take your head off. The Chris Sale win the National
leg I mean he could have easily won the Comeback
Player of the.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Year almost identical numbers Chris Sale had. He was amazing
coming back from injuries, bad back, bad everything.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
First start, by the way start.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
First time win, as good as he's benis Christmas the
first time win.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Loved the way he thinks. If there's one thing that
the twenty twenty four Tigers did for me at the
end of the season, anyway, and I the caveat is
at the end of the season because I really didn't
pay attention to most of this year. It's it's like
reading the last chapter of a book and not reading
the whole thing, you know, just seeing how it ended.
But they they did get me interested in baseball again. Man,

(15:58):
my love of baseball kind of face. Uh, just Beau.
When your team sucks so bad, and that's kind of
where I am with the NBA and where I've been
with the NBA for so long, and absolutely the case
with hockey. When your teams suck, like historically suck, not
just not good, it makes it almost football aside, of course,

(16:21):
that is the one sport that this does.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Not Yeah, because football is king, that's the one.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Sport that this does not apply to. When your team sucks,
your interest level in the league is almost nonexistent.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
I remember when I was in college, and I remember
when I was, you know, in the NFL for pretty
much the majority of my career, Pistons were good. Now,
that's where I come from. I'm a Detroit guy. It
didn't matter that I lived in Cleveland, although Lebron was
Lebron was Lebron, but living here Pistons were good at
the time. It is to go on to work Pistons.
This is the back to back NBA Finals, this is

(16:55):
the seven or the six Eastern Conference Championship.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
I watched all basketball.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
I was too into TNT, even on the road wherever
I was at, even in Miami when we're having fun,
I'm still tuned in too, because the Pistons are still good.
I'm still rocking with the Pistons. So that just bringing
to your point, you're one of them.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
Sent right.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It didn't matter where I was in the country.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I was watching the Pistons and I was watching basketball
because the Pistons were so good.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
And look at your point, ry college football, what do
we say it's the worst season of college football.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
We're barely watching it. And why is that? Michigan sucks
because the Wolverines blow. They blow? I will say, even
when the Wolverines blew under rich Rod and Brady Hoak,
I still cared about college football though, because of the
names in the sport. Now, I just don't feel like
there's any draw and that's sporty different there is. There
are no names in that sport. Kirby Smart eh, really

(17:48):
nice couple of years, but eh as a guy that's
gonna draw you. There is no Nick Saban, there is
no Urban Meyer, there is no Jumper Turno, there's no
boat Chepping Beckler, there's no Harball. I mean, I'm just
there's nobody to hate. There's nobody to like. There's I mean,
I guess I hate Dabo Sweety. I don't know why

(18:09):
I don't like that. I hate guys like Ryan Day.
He's so insignificant to me. He's like a little uh.
I just though I know I don't like him at all.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Here's what Kirby smart in terms of.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Let me just say this real quick. By the way,
super chat Dante one to five one. I've been saying
when Scott Harris said the Tigers that plans for biases.
Robin Williams once said in Bird Cage, so this is
hell and there and there's a crucifix in it. Thank
God for the Lions. That was Dante's super chet to
go ahead and.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Uh, first of all, that's the hell of a movie.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
By the way, Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, that's a
shout out to you, Dante.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
That's a hell of a movie. I was gonna say
with Kirby Smart.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I think he was on his way to becoming that icon.
He was on his way to filling in Nick Saban's shoes.
As I say, he wanted the back to back. He
beat Saven, he took all the SEC beat up on
Michigan three years ago. Seemed like he was about to
be crowing that and then he drug his fee. Obviously
last year only lost one game. But now in this,
in this, in this Ncuba a where you're trying to

(19:05):
figure out who's the guy, Well, it's gonna be Kurby
Smart because of this, that and the third. He's got
two losses and he's got team that does not look
the same.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
So I think he was on his way, but he's stalled.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Yeah, Cody Engels says, you had a horrible take no
names in college football. That's Cody, Yeah, I mean college
there's nobody there.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
There's note I guess you know, Cody, want you tell
me the names?

Speaker 3 (19:26):
You're you're looking what quarterbacks outside of what quarterbacks are
you looking at me? What wide receivers are you looking
at because right now the best wide receiver in the
country plays at Bowling Green. Last time I've jet so
it's like what names are we looking for? There used
to be five linebackers that you like.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
These guys are studs.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
There used to be.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Defensive ends four or five years ago. There's six seven
defensive ends where you're like, I would love to get
a hold of one of those individuals. Outside of wide
receivers and defensive backs. What are we talking about this?
Yaron college Football asking gent and Travis Hunter.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Tom Madgway, who are the best five players in college football?

Speaker 10 (19:58):
Go?

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Travis wi Will Johnson? Yeah, is he playing? No? No,
he's not not playing. I don't even call him top five,
arch Manning, he doesn't play. But Quinn Yours has he played? No? No, Alabama,
I guess Jalen Milrow, you have to put him there.
Jalen Milrose. He's twenty five players.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
He's the kid in Miami cam number eleven.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Number eleven, they're eighth in the country. Supposedly he jumped
to the number one spot. But again, but but again,
I'm just saying, who are the top five players in
college football? You know what I mean? I couldn't tell you.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
So they're not teaching these kids how to play the game.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
They're teaching kids skill. They're teaching them skill.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
They do all the camps, all the passing camps, all
the wide receiver camps, all the technique, the foot they
can do all that, but then they don't teach him
how to learn concepts. They don't teach him how to block.
They don't teach them how to run routes, they don't
teach them how to run within the concerts of the offense.
So you have a lot of skilled individuals that don't
know how to play the game.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah, no doubt. I mean, and then you've got guys
in you know, they're you know, thirty two years old
playing college football. I mean, uh, getting what said Dylan Gabriel,
he's what is he one hundred and seventy six years old?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
General seventy six years old.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I mean, I haven't seen him anywhere, Dylan Gabriel. I
don't see him on first round talent Joe Lewis. I
just don't. It's boring. It's a very boring game this year.
Who's Notre Dame's quarterback Riley Patterson? I know, but but
but again, Duke Kid not a Notre Dame. He's not
a Notre Dames quarterback. Receive he's a Duke guy.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
You know, I know from a Notre Dame Rocco Spindler.
That's all I know from Notre Dame friend Mark Spindler's boy, Rocco,
who's a senior. Congratulations, and he's probably gonna go somewhere
and plays last year. Right, Yeah, he is, you'll say,
and go plays as a graduate.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
It just is what it is.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
It's fine defensive player right now, go to Georgia, Alabama, Texas.
You want offensive player, you go to Ohio State minus
the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
That's when I see in college. Hey, can I bring
something up totally just on the top of my mind,
not on the rundown, nothing to do with Detroit sports,
and just something that I've been thinking about since hearing
the news that Around the Horn is being canceled by
ESPN next year. It's still been twenty three years Around
the Horn on ESPN. It's going to be canceled, Tony really,

(22:24):
you know, it hasn't been the same show for a while.
Oh god, no, God like fifteen years. Yeah. I never
liked it, to tell you the truth, I liked it.

Speaker 6 (22:34):
I liked it.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
With Woody Page in the two thousands, it was, you know,
I like it.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
I liked it I like Philly Old White Lady, Philly always.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Jackie Jack mcmulluiny's like I liked it in the early
two thousands. Yeah, but it just got me to thinking.
The only reason I watched ESPN is for Stephen A.
Smith and image. You make a face at me, but
let me tell let me tell you, let me tell you.

(23:07):
He is up for a contract. I think it's in
six or nine months. ESPN will pay Steven A. Smith
upwards of one hundred million dollars, and they should.

Speaker 9 (23:17):
He is.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
He is the only reason to turn that channel on.
There is there. There is not one other employee. You
don't like Scott Well totally insignificant. McAfee, He's totally in
significant and McAfee. I've never been in McAfee guy. I
appreciate what he does. Let me tell you I'm not

(23:38):
a McAfee guy, but I will give you that he
will watch ESPN for McAfee. Okay, but I like Greenee Show.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
I don't tune in, but that's what I'm watching most
of my clips from the guys on Greenee Show.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Greenee starting to be a little too Yeah, he's not.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
He's starting to switch up on his opinions something he'll
change Greeny, It's.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Fine, but he's not the same Greenie. He is just not.
Mike Greenberg is one of the guys, just totally truth
be told, that I have looked up to in the
in the business, for my television yeah, for my my
television life. Greene is one of the guys that I've
looked up to for twenty plus years. I love Mike Greenberg,
but let me tell you, he is not the same

(24:21):
Greenie as he's been over the years. It's just a
different version of him. And that's fine. That bothered me
a lot. That bothered me a lot. It just did.
But again I said, I enjoyed that show, you know,
I like, I understand he.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
Started getting comical when Aaron Rodgers was like, when that
whole thing was come, where's Aaron gonna come from? From
green Bay to their like the true But once he
once Aaron got there, he got a little too like
all right, like be professional. He's got Aaron's jersey, he's
talking about the Jets are gonna do this. He's giving
horrible takes based on his love and I was like,
this isn't the Greenie I know.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
The I was watching Stephen A Today, and he is
just so good at what he does. He does not care.
He doesn't want to be friends with the players he does.
He does not care whose feathers he ruffles. He's just
gonna give you his opinion, and that opinion will have
a lot of theatrics. That opinion will have a lot

(25:21):
of yelling and a lot of just emotion. He's all
over the place. And you may hate Stephen A. Smith,
And I use hate loosely because I'm talking sports hate,
just like sports hate. I hated Michael Jordan growing up.
You hate Tom Brady. I hated Larry Byrd growing up.
I hate all these guys either way sports hate I'm

(25:41):
talking about. You may hate Steven A. Smith, but he
is the only reason to turn on ESPN, the only reason.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
I don't watch it, the only thing I watch. I'll
flip it on toes see if there's a game on.
If there's not a game on, I'm not even leaving
it on. If Scott van Pelts on at midnight and
I want to see a video, I want to see
what happened, I'll stay on there for a few minutes.
The only night I really love is Sunday, night on
ESPN after the game is old, I flick it on

(26:11):
and I watched the prime time.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Because that's a post game show essentially. That's not it's
not that's all. I watched right again, But but you're
watching a postgame show essentially, you're not watching ESPN programming.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
And they got what's his name on the quarter but
hassle back right, who's actually pretty good.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
He's very good.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
I like him as a as an analyst, he's very good.
I don't know. I just I saw and I haven't
watched Mike and Tony in years. I don't watch it again.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
It's on for a clip, I'll leave it on for
a clip, but the commercial comes on.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Up changing the time. I mean, they are totally I
don't even see a clip on social media from Coenheiser
and Will.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Nobody wants to, you know what I mean, younger market
And I'm not trying to discorrect them because they're both
legends and there.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
They started the debate shows like, well, I guess the
sports reporters did, but they they've been a GameStream.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I was just saying the majority of the people that
are looking for clips nowadays is lads of sports. They
look at them as two dinosaurs. They don't know what
the hell they're talking about, who the hell they are?
That's why you start posting clips, you know.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, anyway, I just I am such a fan of
Stephen A.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Smith and Wilbon on basketball.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean sure maybe again, Like
you're you're tuning in to watch a basketball games show,
right right, it's essentially not programming anyway. I don't even
know who the anchors are anymore, I know, but that's
part of it, right.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Leak Andrews is the only people they talk about Malik
Andrews and on like all the time, every time I
turn on me.

Speaker 11 (27:42):
And that's because she's controversial. You know, she ruffles feathers
as well.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Something Malika Andrews.

Speaker 11 (27:48):
Some people don't like the way how assertive she is,
you know, the stances she takes. People don't agree with that,
but it creates clicks and controversial.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah, I yeah, I feel like she's just very benign,
you know, like that Disney Watch. Yeah, she's outspoken. That's
what people don't like about her. Hey, guys, good stuff there. Hey,

Speaker 14 (32:54):
I think David and Gibbs are like brothers.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I really do, you know.

Speaker 14 (32:58):
And I think David's big brother. And you know, he's
not gonna let anybody mess with him.

Speaker 9 (33:03):
You know.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
It's his guy.

Speaker 14 (33:04):
And now he'll mess with him and he does something wrong,
he's gonna let him know. But you know that's his
he takes him under his wing. And I think they've
elevated each other, you know, And he's made Gibbs better,
and I think Gibbs has helped him too. And when
you have that and you have that competition, you have
that that love for one another, just the whole thing.

(33:26):
I mean, we we To me, they're the perfect combination.
I just they didn't come any better.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
In my opinion.

Speaker 14 (33:33):
You got everything you need out of those two players.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
That is the Lions head coach Dan Campbell talking about
what many people believe the best running back duo in
the NFL, David Montgomery, Ejamier Gibbs and Braylan. One of
the things that he said struck me about that these
guys truly root for each other, They truly love each other.
They are like brothers out there. How many times have

(33:57):
you seen in this league players who play the same
position see each other more as competitors than.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
More as brothers more times than not more more times
than that. You see guys at end of the day,
it's about that paper. It's about their paper. You can
be part of a team, but guys want their paper,
especially around the time and I played. So I mean,
you know, I'm not gonna say that was everybody, but
you definitely saw a lot of it. Like I need
my touches. I need to get my touches, yo, coach,
make sure you get me in on this. But that's
not what you have here. You got our team that

(34:26):
understands winning is the only thing that matters. And you
got guys that get stats. Jamior Gibbs is, you know,
among the league leaders in the NFL, David Montgomery touchdown.
I think he's second in the league in touchdowns. You
look at amar Ron Saint Brown, he's second next to
Jamar Chase. So they're getting theirs, but they don't care
about that. The goal is winning. When it got here,
Dan Campbell instilled in them that it's about winning. I

(34:47):
sent you guys a clip of when Dan Campbell was
coaching in Miami right now, that's when he Yeah, that's
what I think. He took over as interim coach and
there was a player that dropped the pass.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
That's just what he was the tight ends coach. That's
about you.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
That time, great way to get me on track. He's
telling the guy who dropped the pass, I don't care
about you dropping the pass. You blocked for your teammate.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
It's about the other guy.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
If you can't block for your teammates, then you can't
be on the team, essentially what he's saying. So he's
always been a team guy, and this is what he
came in twenty twenty one. He's instilled the value of team.
Like I told everybody, Lloyd Carr used to tell us,
when you win, everybody gets a piece. When you win
the Big Ten championship, for the National championship, look at
everybody that got awards last year for Michigan. Everybody got

(35:30):
awards the year before that. When you win, everybody wins.
And that's what's happening right now. The Lions are nine
to one in the NFL, and just look at where
their guys are.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
Jered Golf and MVP category and Kirby Joseph leading the league.
He's gonna be first team one bro. Hell, his teammate
might be second team.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Off bro.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Everybody's winning, but they're making the goal, winning the games.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
They both might be first first year, right. That's how
good Branch and Kirby are.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
But that compliment that he gave David Montgomery and Jamior Gibbson,
you can't get a better compliment. It's impossible. That's a
mic drop, And that just shows you how good this
team is and how how much of a family that
this team is. I told you there's like two teams
in this league that you know are all together. It's
the Lions and it's the Chargers. Those are two sure

(36:16):
bets that they are all together on the same page.
I'm sure the Chiefs as well. You can't win all
those championships and have Andy Reid as your coach without
being all together.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
But it's phenomenal.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
And I loved Dan Campbell when he was the Dolphins
tight end coach and then he became the interim coach
and I followed him back then. I just fell in
love with him. I don't know what it was about him.
I just fell in love with the guy. And I'm like,
this guy's gonna be a head coach and he didn't
get the Dolphin job. I think Joe Philbin got in
that and Joe Philbin, he just didn't do a good job.

(36:48):
They should have given given Dan Campbell the job. He
still might be in Miami had they given him that
job then. But thank you Miami, Thank you Steven Ross
for not making that decision, because he's guy now.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I played with the running back Seawn Green. Sean Green
went to Iowa University. He was a really good running back.
I look at you, you know, Shawn was a great
running back at Iowa. Shawn was a really good running
back for us with the New York Jets. The year
I got there, Thomas Jones was the starter and we
led the league in rushing that year. Thomas was a starter,
Shaw Shawn Green the backup. They both had over seven

(37:22):
hundred yards. The next year we bringing La Dandi and
Thomason Shawn Greens yet again the backup, still having a
phenomenal season. I remember talking to him in practice one time.
I was like, dang, like you can go, like you
can start for a lot of squads, Like like, what's
the move?

Speaker 2 (37:38):
He said?

Speaker 3 (37:38):
I like her, he said, lt is one of the greatest,
he said. Last year, Thomas Jones, they taught me a lot,
he said. Also, he said, b we winning, He said,
I come from Iowa. He said, like, we just win games.
We played as a team. And this is me thinking
this guy could start in a lot of places. He
should be somewhere starting And he told me, no, it's
not about starting, it's about winning. So I wanted to
correct my statement. There's a lot of understanding, a lot

(37:59):
of is to actually get it at that level.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
But what is the common denominator between that situation and
the current running back situation here in Detroit. It's a
strong head coach. Rex Ryan was a strong head coach.
Rex Ryan communicated exactly. He told you to your face,
exactly what he thought about you. You did not correct

(38:24):
me if I'm wrong. You did not have to guess
what Rex Ryan thought about you. You did. He was
gonna tell you. And I think that's the same with
Dan Campbell. These players that play the same positions are
able to love each other and root for each other
because their head coach, the coaching staff, upper management, they

(38:45):
all treat the players like adults. Everybody knows exactly what
their role is. Not only knows what their role is,
they know why their role is their role. And if
you just look to the New York Football Giants in
this situation that they have at quarterback. I heard Drew
Locke being interviewed at his locker yesterday. We have that sound.

(39:07):
Let's do you have the Drew lock Drew lock for me.
Let me just essentially Drew Locke is like, I don't know, man,
they told me I was number two. I don't know.
Like this poor kid literally doesn't even know how to
answer a question because he's trying to be pc. He's
trying not to ruffle Eddie Feathers, he's trying to be professional.
He's trying to protect his dumb ass head coach. And

(39:28):
he liked and he likes he likes Cutlets you know,
it's based on what they saw last year, that kind
of the jew said, it gave the team. How do
you not wonder, well, why was I the number two
the whole time?

Speaker 5 (39:44):
Then?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Why was he?

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Why wasn't he the number two?

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Then if that's what you saw.

Speaker 15 (39:49):
Again, that's yeah, that's a question I might still have
for myself. And uh know, it's expressed me that I
was going to be the two, and it's interesting situation.
How much I can really say about it. Besides, again,
I'm gonna wanna be your forum, and you know we're

(40:09):
still communicating, still very good friends, believe it or not. No, yeah,
I'm gonna be your forum. This team needs to get
a win, and we start winning, everything gets a little.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Better on here. I don't want to jump off and
talk about the Giants at this point. I want to
stick with the Lions. Daniel Jones, by the way, is
fourth string behind Tim Boyd.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Right.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
But it's just an example of when you have coaches,
a head coach in particular, that treats the player like
an adult and just says exactly.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
What it is.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
You don't have that situation. You don't have that situation
in New York. You have this situation where Montgomery and
Gibbs are like brothers a.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Lot of times, a lot of times what hurts or
what gets to how do I say this conversation, locker
room material or viral clips is when you don't have
that that pipeline where the coach can just tell you
a player, this is what it is. Because now you
leave the player to the podium, to his own his
own conversation. Now he has to make it up what
he sees the situation as well. Now he's trying to

(41:10):
tap dance on the situation. You just make it that
much harder, like give the player ammill at the podium,
Like tell the player what it is. So when you're
at the bollume you don't have these sound bites. Now,
it makes you look stupid as an organization, and it
lets everyone know what your.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Head coach is all about, no doubt. I want you
to hear from Jared Goff as well. You know this
eight game winning streak and hopefully nine game winning streak
and hopefully ten game winning streak, and hopefully the streak continues.
You know what, back the nineteen thirty four Lions started
out ten and ozerho. It was their first year in Detroit.

(41:44):
They it was their fifth year in existence, their first
year in Detroit spurts, they were the Portsmouth Spartans. But
in nineteen thirty four, it was their first year in Detroit.
They won their first ten games. They were ten and
zero and then lost their last three, so they finished
the season ten in three. But that's what the Lions
are kind of chasing now, is that ten game winning
streak a little bit. Uh, here's what Jared Goff had

(42:05):
to say about winning eight in a row.

Speaker 16 (42:07):
You know, I know he scored fifty two, but like
it's it's freaking hard in this league. And we've been
playing well, We've been doing a lot of good things
on offense. But by no means would I ever characterize
anything we're doing as easy or you know, without effort.

Speaker 9 (42:19):
It's a lot of hard work.

Speaker 16 (42:20):
And a lot of time, and the games are obviously
very hard always and to win. And just rewinded we
could go as Houston how hard that win was. So it's, uh,
it's yeah, it's never easy.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
We appreciate Eric, will you are for that clip. One
thing I'm starting to notice about Jared Goff this week.
This is maybe the third or fourth conversation I think
I've heard two in the locker room, one on the
radio in which he was talking about this isn't easy.
Like he's made it a point every time that he's
been asked his question to say, this isn't easy. It
isn't easy to go out there and score seven times
in a row. It isn't easy to put up fifty

(42:52):
two points or all these numbers on our stads. He's
starting to get perturbed by the question. It seems like
it's starting to frustrate and a lot.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
This is why he's letting people know.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
It's easy.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
In my opinion, he's starting to pay attention to what
people are saying around the league.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
The civilian comment.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
It's easy because he has Jamier Gibbs, it's easy because
he has Ama around, Saint Brown and Jameson Willis.

Speaker 4 (43:11):
He's not getting the credit he deserves. And look, he's
a cool he's a very chill, casual customer.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
But you can tell it's starting to piss him that
they are giving Ben Johnson all the credit for being
a genius. They're giving everyone else the credit, and they're
calling him a civilian. I don't think it's making mad
at his teammates, nothing like that, but he's starting to
get pissed at these conversations.

Speaker 15 (43:29):
Is that.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
And I'm going to make a comparison. I am not
going to please don't mistake Jared Goff and Michael Jordan
in the same sentence, But could that Braylan potentially be
like Michael Jordan. He needed something to get them going.
It was so easy for him. He would take something

(43:52):
and make these stories up in his head used as motivation,
because you know, outside of the civilian comment, it is
all love for the Detroit Lions. So you almost create
these stories in your mind to keep you on edge
a little bit. Don't believe what everybody's saying about you
that's so positive. Use something is a little bit of

(44:16):
fuel that you could turn into and use his motivation.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
I understand that, and I get that, and there is
a lot that sometimes you have to find a way
to continue to motivate yourself on the season, especially when
you're putting up numbers and sequences like this. But I
don't think it's that. I don't think that's the case.
Jared Golf is always laid back, he's always calm. Every
once in a while he'll bring out receipts at the
end of the year. But I don't think it's that
all this stuff is coinciding the same year. It's literally

(44:42):
three four people have asked some conversations about this being
too easy, and then also the civilian comment on top
of that. I really think it's him piste off and
thinking this is that easy when it's not. I mean,
we've watched Jared Goff. We're down into every single game
and Jared Goff has played it hasn't.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
Been that easy.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
He struggled at times this game, the offensive line and
struggle at the time, so it hasn't all looked perfect.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
But when he's operating like this, he wants some of
that credit.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
It's like, Shoot, you're witnessing things that haven't happened before,
they haven't happened in sixty years.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
You'll give me a little bit of credit.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
Stop calling.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
To be honest, He's never gotten the credit, not even
as an l A Ram they got to the time
it was tid girle.

Speaker 11 (45:18):
Yeah, exactly, it was. It was it was Sean McVay.
He's never ever gotten the credit in his career. So
I can understand him feeling that way.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
He made a great point there.

Speaker 5 (45:28):
Listen, I want to lead into the next piece of sound.
We having it from my mom round Saint Brown and
you said it bright. He's getting tired of geting these
questions because they make it look so easy. These guys
know what they have in this team. Here's here's the Saint.

Speaker 10 (45:44):
Yeah. I mean we know we're special.

Speaker 17 (45:46):
We've known we've been special since the start of last year,
we got guys on offense all across the board that
are special, special players special, and coaches you know, love
love the game, are putting us in decisions to make
plays or coaching you know, their asses off for us.

(46:06):
So we know this group is special. And defense too, obviously,
if we just speaking for the offense, we are like
I said, we know we have a special group and
it's just a matter of us executing on Sundays, making
the plays be in the right spots and dis trusting.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Ourselves when you have something and I want to thank
Eric Ward for that great work in the locker room.
We love Eric and love all the content he puts out.
When you have that type of knowledge that what you're
doing is special, I think that alone, Bray is motivation
for you to show up to work every day. I
think you know when you played at Michigan, I think

(46:42):
you probably felt there were games that you could just
show up and win where the other team would see
your wing helmet and you were going to win. Yeah,
so you had to continue to work and figure out
how am I going to get through this week of
practice when I know we're going to win this game.
I feel like the Detroit Lions. You know, they're winning games.

(47:06):
They're scoring thirty two points a game, they're winning games
by thirty eight points. They're doing all these historic things.
I think they realize they're so aware of what they're
doing that it keeps them motivated to work hard and
get it done in practice. Yeah too.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
Also, you're going against one of the best defenses in
the league right now. Say what you want to about
this defense. Iron sharpers Iron and Dan Campbell as the coach,
these guys are going at it during the week. He
doesn't care that this week twelve of the NFL season,
they're still going at it. So when you're going against
you know, best on best and good on good, and
you got Zadarius going against you know, tedyly Decker, or
you got them going against Big Piney, or you know

(47:46):
Eliam and DJ Reader going against Frank Amaran going against
Tarry Arnold. You hear what happened last week in practice
with Carlton Davis the second how do you break his stump?
He was going against Amarron Saint Brown. So they're going
at it. When you're playing against people that good, it
ownly makes you better. So you can't wait to win
the game comes. When when I was at Michigan, you
bring up Michigan. The best people that we played were

(48:07):
every day in practice, Like I went against Marlon Jackson.
Marlon Jackson was the three time All American, two time
first team All American.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Like I went against him in practice. When we got
to the game on Saturday, that.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
Game was easy.

Speaker 3 (48:18):
It wasn't boring, but it was easy because we put
in all that work during practice. When you put in
work like that, you can't wait till Sunday in this case,
because you want to show people how hard you've been working.
So they're not getting bored because they're going at it
in practice each week.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Listen, man, they got the Colts coming.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Up this week.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
That's where I was going with it too.

Speaker 5 (48:35):
They got the Colts coming up, you know what. To me,
they're just another team. The only thing that got going
for him was their home.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
They get to sleep in their own bets. That's where
it ends.

Speaker 5 (48:44):
They got Anthony Richardson, who I think is gonna be
okay eventually. You know, I was one of the guys
that was on his train because what a great freak
athlete he is. He's a monster of a man and
if you could put it all together, he's gonna got it.
They got some talent on there. Jonathan Taylor is a
great running back. I don't expect them to get over
fifty yards because I don't expect them to get thirty

(49:05):
yards because I'm even benching them on my fantasy team.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
How's that sound?

Speaker 5 (49:09):
That's how That's how much I believe on this Lion's defense.
You're not gonna run it and then you're gonna have
to throw it or you just gonna have to watch
Anthony Richardson. Just keep an eye on that guy, Jack Campbell, Rodrigo,
keep your eye on that guy, and they'll win the
game by three touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
I wouldn't bench Johnson Taylor if I was here. I'm
not saying that they're gonna win or do anything crazy
like that. I'm simply saying, wouldn't Benejohnon Taylor. When you
gotta running quarterback like Anthony Richinson, you're gonna get a
lot of creepy out yarders with Johnson Taylor's you might
with the man.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
As you said something the other day that I've been
thinking about lately, and it is you have a hard
time watching other teams because of how good the Lions are.
It's boring to watch other games, and it is so true.
And for somebody that I consider you like the story

(50:00):
end of the NFL is really for somebody that's watching
the NFL for so long, what I am watching is
the most exciting team that I can remember in twenty
five years. Where do you put this offense and even
the defense? Who gets to pick a game? Who sets
the quarterback? Yeah? Where do you put this team?

Speaker 5 (50:20):
I can't compare their offense to anything I've ever seen,
maybe the forty nine ers of the nineties, but I'm
a Giants fan growing up, so nineteen eighty six was
a great year for me. That's one Giants one. That's
the first time the Giants ever did anything in my
entire lifetime up.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
To that point. Phil Simms, he's like Jared Goff. But
they had no receivers that compare to what they have here.
And they are running backs.

Speaker 5 (50:44):
They were pretty good Joe Morris one year, OJ Anderson
another year. But these guys are gonna be Hall of famers.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
They just are.

Speaker 5 (50:51):
Mark Bavaro was the tight end. I can compare them
to Samuelaporta. But the defense on the Giants was how
they won, and they had the best line and the
best defensive line in the league. And of course the
Chicago Bears prior to that when they held the Giants
to zero points in the NFC Championship game, the eighty
five Bears. Those are the only defenses that I could

(51:13):
even put ahead of this run right now. But the offense,
I think it stands alone. I can't think of a
better offense that I've ever seen in all my days
watching the game.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
I'm so comfortable watching the offense work.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
I don't saying. Only two teams that I think to
compare him.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
It was the Chargers of the mid nineties when they
had the Daniel Thomas and they had Antonio Games, Philip Rivers,
they had Darren Spros. They had a two hitted backfield
of the Monsters as well. Then wide receivers. You had Vince,
You had a couple of cats se could played, but
they were better than them. It really only is the
Saint Louis rams I used the greatest show on turf.
You break it down like because Marshall Falk is very

(51:50):
comparable to Jamiir Gaz, Isaac Bruce Tory Hoe very comparable too.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
Well, we hope Jameson Williams what Amar Rossi bron already is.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
Rowland Williams was great, tiny and they got one of
the best tackles of all time in uh Orlando Payce.
There's your Pine Sue and then Kurt Warner. Kurt Warner
obviously we know he's a Hall of Fame quarterback.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
That's what we believe.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
Jared Goff is on his way to what he's doing,
so that's the only thing that you can compare him to.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
You're right, that's it, absolutely right. And I still think
this team is better than that team. Look at they're
making mockery of the game. They are making a mockery.
I know it, man. It is so wild that they're doing.
It's so enjoyable. I still can't believe that the Detroit

(52:36):
Lions on our team, you know, Isaac keem return kicks
for him to. I don't want to get too crazy
at all because they haven't won one Super Bowl, but
I feel like this is a multiple super Bowl Why not?
You know what I mean? Draft next year too, This
is a multiple super Bowl group.

Speaker 11 (52:55):
I just feel like I just most of your core
players still out your rookie contract or first year.

Speaker 5 (53:00):
Right, I'm having so much fun with this team this year.
I get the chills right now, just you just I
got the chills. I've got it right now. I've got
the chills. This freaking team is beside my family. This
team is my freaking life.

Speaker 2 (53:14):
I swear to God giving you so much joy.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
Yes that the only way the multiple thing scares me
is because we know both these well, at least I believe.
I think both these coordinators are gone next year. Both
these coordinators are head coach in his NFL and next season.
So now you're bringing in two coordinators to do with
these guys. Team understood, But still it's still not the
same guys still.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
So that's that one.

Speaker 5 (53:38):
The only thing that can't be someone better than Ben Jonson,
that might be someone better than ag.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
We talked about this a couple of times over the
last week, and I just want to mention it again today.
You mentioned Aaron Glenn and the defense too, because I
think the offense is so good you almost overlook what
the defense is doing. Again, this team is not allowed
more than one touchdown passing a game. Think about that. Yeah,

(54:05):
ten games, not one quarterback has come in not Baker Mayfield,
not Sam Donald, not Jordan Love, not insert quarterback here.
Now one quarterback has thrown for multiple touchdown passes against
this defense. Amazing, and you got to give Aaron Glenn
a lot of credit for that compared to last year secondary,

(54:25):
which was the worst legs heg which was the worst
in the league. And I just think that's remarkable. I
just think. And not only that, but they've also intercepted
a pass in each of the first ten games. Again
eighty five Bears, eighty four Broncos, in thirty nine Giants.

(54:46):
Is the only teams to do that. I want to
sit here and make a comment.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
I want to make some SNYE remark like, well, the
reason why, I mean, you look at the Green Bay
game and it's raining outside, and you look at when
you play against the Houston Texans and missus Nico Collins,
and look, when I was staying with Jets, we had
one of the best defenses I've ever been around. That
was Revers two years really, but that defense was damn
good man.

Speaker 4 (55:06):
You better tell him about how good that defense nine
and ten thouts.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Even as good as Revis and Crow Marty and the
same and the secondary we had. I still saw them
give up two touchdown passes in the game to the
teams that weren't that good. So that's why I'm going, like,
what they're doing, you can't make excuses for it. It's legit,
it's sound, it's Aaron Glenn inserting who he is, and
it's also his players listening to him being dialed in.
So gotta give him a lot of credit because I've

(55:31):
seen a lot of great teams and they ain't do this.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
I haven't even seen it, right, we don't know what
that kid's got.

Speaker 5 (55:38):
They're taking it easy with that. Mela fan will he
might not play another down for the Lions. I thought
he was terrific last year, but the way Dan Campbell's talking,
he might have played his last down here because yeah,
he got hurt again again. Oh yeah, he set back again.
I just don't think we're gonna see him. I hope
we do, because I think he's got a lot of talent.

(55:59):
But every single guy a draft, including Broderick Martin who
is now off the list and maybe get some playing time,
is gonna step their game up because they have to.
If you want to play on this team, you better
be your damn best right, no doubt, guys, We're gonna
take a break when we come back. It is a

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Eckersley, excuse me.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
I read it as it was like Anchorman. But outside
of the misspelled he was cold in the eighties. Man,
he was an ace for your Oakland athletics. He was
cold at side, was always a fan of that number twelve.
I only put him on here because if I didn't.
Somebody would have something to say. I never was a
Roger Clemens fan.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
I just I don't know what each cold. I just
never was a fan. He deserves to be in the
top ten.

Speaker 4 (01:02:13):
That's on me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
I just never was a fan.

Speaker 4 (01:02:15):

Speaker 9 (01:02:17):
It just did.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):

Bay Area guy. And also he and I shoot dice.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Well we shouldn't have. We made it out.

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
Also shout out to my guy.

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
He won the World Series as soon as I get
traded to the Jets the same year, so that was
kind of cool to see. Now we get to the
top ten. All right, all right, so you know the
story about me. You know I'm a Georgia guy. You
know I represent the Braves. So all three of those
guys are gonna be.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
On your mask.

Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
You can expect to see them all here. I started
at teating with John, supposed to got it from here.
It's gross point.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
I don't know John's system. Brod no idea small down
river or gross point.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
One of those two part of that trio that was
Glavin and Dreg Mannix Man. I love watching those games
back in the early nineties. Uh, Bobby Cox with the GM,
those are some great teams. By the way, David Justin
Teddy Pillolds, you said.

Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
What John Sureholtz was the GM of the Braves.

Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
I'm the manager. Excuse me, Bobby Bream sure Hoolds and
Deon Santa's on this.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
They like you, No, they don't.

Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
It's because he wanted at the freaking game he threw.
He didn't want him at the Falcons game. He wanted
him at the Braves World Series.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
He did both like you get.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
I never understood why he was so mad, Like you
asked him to play because you were in the pinch
because your player got hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
He said, he plays doing both. Like what was his shue?

Speaker 9 (01:03:44):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
If they was the issue? If they win that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
World Series, you know it's going to be m v P.
Deon Sander's numbers were ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
Instead, him and Tim mcconnord got into a fight. I
remember what he did to timcar.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Field man bag Ice on.

Speaker 9 (01:04:00):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
Live TV, but Tim Carver deserved You shouldn't say what
he said in the paper.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Look, he and Jem sit in his face. I'm sticking
with the man.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
The cold is that all?

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Number nine?

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Tom Glavin there, he is not too fast. Tom Glavin
was one of my favorite players. You know why because
he's the first picture I seen that could hit Tom Glavin.
I saw him hit the home run when I was
about nine and said, wait, the pictures don't hit bs.
Tom Glavin would hit and strike you out in the
same game. Gotta love t glass O cold, dirty lefty,
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Where we go? Two thousand and six?

Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
In two thousand and six cold I did not want
the Detroit Tigers to face the Mets because Johan Santana
was that good. Johan Santana at one point, he and
Page with the best two pictures in the game. You
can say what you want to, they're the best two
pictures in the game. I wanted to play the Cardinals.
I guess I should have wanted to play the Mets.
Cardinals swept the Tigers.

Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
But Johan was cold.

Speaker 5 (01:04:57):
You remember what the what had line with you guess
the New York Post and Daily News put up when
he pitched his no hitter. Here's his name, Yo hit
her yo, no hitter, no hold on, so no hitter
so Joe Hitter, Yo, no Hitter what.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
No hon Oh god, that's tough. I would have never
gotten it. That's great, that is good. I mean it's great.
I kind of man. You almost had it. You were close.
I was close, you were but number seven.

Speaker 9 (01:05:32):
There we go.

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
But yeah, no, now you got me call him no
hans Man and you know I have to sneak one
closer here many many the best to ever?

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Was he doing that at that number? Because he's he's
he's a closer, So he's the sad man. I just
do the list together. At the end of the day.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
I cared about my top five, like, look, he's a closer.
These other guys are as. If you want to do
that when he's number one, then right, man, there you
answer the sad man. Mariana very the best to ever
do it. There's your your Mickey highlight.

Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Right the only one? All right, here we go engine
in Doc Good.

Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
If he wasn't on the Rising bag powder, uh, that
Good could arguly be the best of all time. And
the reason why I love him too is I didn't
see the eighties that good, and I didn't see the
Subway series. I didn't see how good he was then,
but I was told fast forward. He comes back to
the Yankees and year two thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Pictures of nothing, no hitter. What's the headline?

Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
I said, what they said? What's true?

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
What was the headline? No hitter for doctor doct no
goodday doctor, no doctor, horrible headlines. Watch some headline that's
a changed bo that's double in town.

Speaker 6 (01:06:48):
I give you that one.

Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
I give you that one for sure. When we think
about the list so far, I love being seven.

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Chill one of these guys.

Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
What do you think about this?

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
Pete?

Speaker 8 (01:07:01):
Oh god, Bray, I love this list.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:07:04):
It's take me back to the to my childhood. My friend,
this is a great lest dude.

Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
Take We ask you if anybody you haven't seen yet?
But I wait, do the listen?

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Rodrick Clevens saying, Roger Clevens has got to be in
there already.

Speaker 11 (01:07:20):
Is I wonder where you got already on the list,
Jack Morris, Okay, I want to see Tom Seaver in there.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
I did mine.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
I didn't watch Tom.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Ask you question.

Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
Tom was one of the greats of all time. He's
top five. Okay, go ahead here, we got.

Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
To hang on here.

Speaker 10 (01:07:41):
Let me put that back up by hooray.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Th JV and.

Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
Wholeheartedly little personal biases. The best pictures I ever Yeah,
and Justin Berland belongs up here.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
This is all.

Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
Inspired by Terry Scooper, who did what he did years
ago j V. What we got in number before Pedro?
I was waiting for it, Pedro.

Speaker 4 (01:08:07):
Martinez, you know what he wass, Tro Guerrero.

Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Pedro was the best picture in baseball when it was
at his prime, and it was was prime and pitching
Pedro was just And I watched that documentary that you
didn't want to watch. I always wonder what exactly happened
with the Boston Red Sox Yankees, the fight with the manager.

Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
That he threw to the ground, threw Don Zimmer down.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Don deserved that deserves Okay, If Pedro Martinez just stands
there and he runs into him and hits him, then.

Speaker 4 (01:08:39):
What you're gonna say, Well, he was old.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
All he did was move out the way.

Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
He let gravity do.

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
His job exactly. Pedro Guerrero.

Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
It was a punk ass for doing that. So what
if he just stood there and and I don't know,
right he threw an old man down black mass if
he got here's what happened anyway, enough he went in
Game seven and they rocked him in then the eighth
inning and knocked him out and they and they wound

(01:09:08):
up winning that game with Aaron Boone.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
So you know, take that, take that that that with
the sun, those shots.

Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
If you can tell, Maz is definitely a Yankees fan.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
The Boston man, all right, passion.

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
Noel Ryan, the Nolan expressed, like Nolan Ryan was ridiculing
next day I saw him though, I thought I saw
him though about eighty five, when he was what sixty
when he threw out that first pitch, maybe like ten years.

Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
He's got a ton of no hitters. He he beat
you up. But he became one of my favorite players.

Speaker 9 (01:09:41):
Everybody knows that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Everybody knows the team what he did to rob him into.

Speaker 5 (01:09:46):
So sorry, and the Mets traded him after winning the
sixty nine World Series. The Mets traded him for Jim
frogost Angels Jim Fregosi, who was a good man and
a decent hitter. But that's all he is. Well a
decent manager, but that's what the Mets got for him.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
Everybody talks about his time in Texas, whether it was
with the Houston Astros, whether it's the Texas Rangers. You
want to have some fun, go look at his stats
with the Angels. Just go look at his stands with
the Angels. It is sane, right saying his stants. Never
want to say young, by the way, and.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
That's something I want to say, And that's something he
could still pitch. Yeah, probably could, so I know he
could have used him last year. I know who number
one he is. I'm wonder to sell what I know
who number one he is. I'm curious has the number
two though?

Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
All right, well let's figure it out. Number two.

Speaker 5 (01:10:37):
I told you that I knew that was going to
the fastest picture in the West, and I mean by
game time it was an hour and fifteen minutes that
he was done.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Yeah, there he was the pitch clock before the rest
clock came correct.

Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
They're like, legitimately, there was only one person that could
hit him, and it wasn't Barry Bonds.

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
You know who it was.

Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
The only one that get Greg Madigs is Tony Winn
Barry Bonds. I said, like, it's one of the greatest
things you ever see is when they do that dual
documentary where you see Greg Maddix explaining that at bat
from his perspective and Barry Bonds explaining it from his perspective.

Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
Go, you should seek out that video. It is incredible.
What genius there, You know, it's what makes players great
is not only their ability. Obviously their physical attributes, their
physical abilities, but when you hear these two titans walk

(01:11:40):
themselves through this at bat from each perspective, it is
no wonder why they're the greatest to ever do it,
No wonder why they're the greatest to ever do it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
In My favorite part about it is when they're not
in the same room when they're conducting, and if you
legitimately watch, they are saying the same exact thing everything
that Greg Madic start. Barry thought, he thought the Greg
Manter start, and they were playing chests and obviously we
know who won the at bat was big Barry Bonds
number one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Mister randamn.

Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
How many how many people up there have hit a
bird and decimated it?

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Yeah, that's integrated. This is true. Decimated works too in
this case, thank you, sir, But yes, disintegrated this bird.

Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Randy Johnson, the Unit six ten, is now photographer, by
the way, Yeah, he does the.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Super Bowl, the NFL games, NFL games.

Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
He was that dude man like I loved him with
the Americans, obviously you love him Alamar and then the
kid king Griffy Jr. He goes to the Diamondbacks, gets
his World Series win, and then he goes to the Yanks.

Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
He gets from the Yanks as well.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Doesn't know they came up short.

Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
They came up but anyway, Randy Johnson was a World
six ten.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
He is the big unit. That's a great one break,
great job. That's a fun, very fun. Yeah, here you go.
You're growing up. You know, you're an Atlantic kids. So
that's why Jack Morris probably not on the list an
Atlanta guy. Top top big game picture that there is
is probably Jack Moore, no doubt.

Speaker 8 (01:13:16):
Do you have a Batman sound effect for the above.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
Wham bird? What you know?

Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
I think they said the chances of something like it
was like one, and I'd be lying if.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
I mean, that's impossible. Yeah, it's apparently apparently impossible, improbable. Paul,
He's going to visit his girlfriend.

Speaker 5 (01:13:45):

(01:19:44):
Warn Okay, NiCoT down the street claim you pass through
Gross Probably want to do this out anyway. There big
week in the NFL. Lots going on it. By the way,
this San Francisco green Bay best game, huge, best game

(01:20:05):
in terms of what it means. I hope we get that.
Is that a four o'clocker. This is a must win game.
Let me see what tell me it's four o'clock. Please
hold on, let me see. It is a must win
game for the San Francisco forty nine ers. If San
Francisco loses to Green Bay, this week, then they play
Buffalo the five. Oh good, so it's on Fox. Fo Yes,

(01:20:27):
beautiful on Fox. Yeahubleheader San Francisco at Green Bay and
then Buffalo next two weeks. Wow, they're five and five.

Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
I think it's a must win for both teams. I
think it's a must win for both teams. I think
it's a must win for the forty nine ers so
that they can come back in their own division, so
that they can make the playoffs, so they can make
sure they even get in. And I think you look
at it from the green Bay Packers standpoint, A lot
of people had them going to the Super Bowl yesterday. Man,
as we talked about it, how do you feel you
say you still feel that way about them? I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
And I think Green Bay needs this game to get
back on track.

Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
Green Bay need this game to feel better about this
stuff and start playing with a confort level because I'm
not comfortable with Jordan Love and Matt lafleur Is as
of right now.

Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
They could really they could deal the death blow to
the San Francisco here, and the.

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Death too by the way they owe them. Is this
that the forty nine Ers at Lambeau. It's snowing. Yeah,
they owe green bad excuse me they they should have
beaten the San Francisco forty nine ers last year and.

Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
The layoffs getting line right, I mean, it's just incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
So uh yeah, mass over to you, buddy. We'll go
around the NFL.

Speaker 5 (01:21:38):
We got a snow game tonight, guys, on Thursday Night Football.
The dog pound will be it'll be excited for them.
This is like a playoff game for the Cleveland brown
for tonight.

Speaker 8 (01:21:46):
I do I will have a thirty second. I will
do a thirty at the end of the show.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Yeah, okay, go ahead, man.

Speaker 5 (01:21:53):
The Steelers, who are red hot right now, rolling into
Cleveland taking on the Browns. It's a low spread, guys,
Steelers are four right now, four point favorites all the Browns.
Listen to these two stats just from Thursday Night Football alone.
The Steelers are oh and seven in divisional games on
Thursday Night football. Meanwhile, the Browns have won eight straight

(01:22:17):
on Thursday Night Football. How about those two stats for
you going into tonight. The Browns are gonna win this
game or they're gonna be damn close to winning this Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
And I like the under obviously, I don't care what
it is. I like the under I saw a stat today.

Speaker 4 (01:22:34):
I like the Browns.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
I don't like the games. Stinks to me, it's definitely stinks.
The game stinks. I wouldn't touch it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
With a ten offense looks off of the Baltimore races.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
I'd watch it. But I saw this stat. I'm gonna
try to find it here. Steelers eight and two against
the spread this season. Ninety percent of the bets this
is John Ewing John Ewing on X. Ninety percent of
the bets are on the Steelers minus three and a
half at the Browns. What could go wrong? Well, in

(01:23:05):
that case, I still think the Steelers got it. Here's
another one. You're ready for this one. They can't keep
hold on, they can't keep got it. I gotta find
this one. You got to it's again. Okay, here you go,

(01:23:26):
Wait ready, Jameis Winston. Ninety five percent of the money
on Jameis Winston over two hundred and sixteen and a
half passing yards. Last week he threw for three ninety five.
Oh yeah, last week he threw for three ninety five.

(01:23:47):
It's week ninety five percent of the money over too sixteen.
It's all garbage. That's all garbage yards last week garbage
you guys all together? What two fourteen? Oh? No, he's
going under, He's going undre. It's the Jais.

Speaker 19 (01:24:07):
It's the Jais tree.

Speaker 7 (01:24:08):
Y'all know where, Ryan, the latest weather update has forty
mile prour gusts in that game.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
I wouldn't play the game. I would play Jameis Winston
under super under to sixteen. Can I be under twice?

Speaker 1 (01:24:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
I would pay Jameis Winston under two hundred and sixteen
passing yard over five field goals. Hey, Chris Boswell went
crazy for he's the highest he was, all right.

Speaker 5 (01:24:41):
So, speaking of this AFC North battle that we'll see tonight, HBO,
we heard what we've been telling you. Hard Docks is
coming out and it's coming on December the third. Hard
Knocks will debut the a f C North.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
I love it. Guess what's involved in the AFC North Ryan,
You gotta give me credit this one. That's why I
through it because the first thing that I heard realize
when I saw this, we're going to get to see
how the trade played out as Darius Smith to Detroit.
We're going to get to see that in season trade playing.
That's that's what I'm gold, Yeah, gold gold to me.

Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
I want to see if they were telling the truth,
because allegedly they said as soon as got hurt, the
Browns reached out to the Lions.

Speaker 4 (01:25:20):
So that's what I want to see if that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
That was Maybe that's how it comes out. Somebody's got
access to that video though, but you know what I mean,
looking for that. Yeah, that's good. So I love that
before not, how they've reinvented themselves has been tremendous. They
heard us, they heard we were.

Speaker 5 (01:25:36):
Getting tired, and they the best one so far as
the Giants one, because you see how it eppened.

Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
Yeah, they are I mean by that the first time
they've done that. They think the one is the Lions one. No,
it was you're just saying the first you are, yes, yes, yes,
they saw quarter back at how gretty.

Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
That was not comparing it to the Baltimore Ravens the
first one ever. I'm sorry, that's okay, You're right, thank you, sir.

Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
I think where we should have bet where I should
have bet on is not necessarily so hard. I should
have been on HBO. HBO doesn't typically miss, especially with
something as storied as Hard Knocks.

Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
By the way, did you see speaking of HBO Hard Knocks,
It kind of made me think of Netflix. Did you
see the NFL executives they call met with Netflix and said, listen, guys,
it's got too much to games on Christmas Day and
spend an awful lot of money.

Speaker 9 (01:26:28):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
And Netflix has assured them that there will be no problems.
They did not anticipate they miss How does Netflix miscalculate
the demand for that fight? Because they just don't understand that.
Can anybody. I'm a pretty smart guy can usually figure out,
Like I'm smart, I have.

Speaker 7 (01:26:46):
A guest, I have an educated guest. They are not
sports people. They just did not They are not sports people.
These people put on shows. They put on programming for
the well, you.

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Know, christ deviation. They might not be live people, okay,
because they do sports tremendous Okay, like you know, yeah shows.

Speaker 8 (01:27:07):
I just don't think that they were ready.

Speaker 7 (01:27:08):
I just don't think that they that their studies or
whatever however they were, you know, preparing for that. They
were off because I just don't think they had the
experts who were preparing them for what that was gonna dopen.

Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
I think Amazon's Prime Games are running better than they
did last year.

Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
They are they're learning. Yeah, they learned learning, They'll learned.

Speaker 3 (01:27:25):
Here's my guess, which isn't against It has to be right.
Look at what Jake Paul has done in this space
and watch every pay per view no matter who he said.
And I understand he hasn't had Tyson, but look at
who he's had. None of them, none of them have
drawn like this. Hell, seventy five percent of the ones
he's done. The the arena isn't even filled. So if
you're Netflix and you're watching this, you're like, oh, Okay,

(01:27:46):
we'll be good. We'll put this amount of proxy or whatever.
No one could have known that this made. People are
gonna watch that fight.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
Guys. I don't know if you guys talked about this,
but I haven't had a chance to comment on this.
Did you see what Sylvester Stallone put out on Instagram?
He said, I've known Mike Tyson since he was nineteen
years old. Essentially, you you do things for your family,
and Jake Paul be thankful. Tyson just spared your life

(01:28:14):
and I and then listen videos, listen, and then you
see the videos online. Now I know Sevester Sloan played
a fake fighter, but he knows more about boxing than
anybody out there. Yeah, and then you see the videos

(01:28:35):
of Tyson kind of rolling his shoulder instead of throwing it.
It was a shot of it was a shot of
the guy's face. I have complet I've completely changed my hook.
I've completely changed my mind about this. I apologize. I apologize.
I was emphatic that you were wrong, and in doing so,

(01:28:56):
I was wrong and apologize to you. It was Mike
Tyson who carried Jake Paul. It was a Jake Paul production. Yep,
this was hot. Hey, I'm gonna give you twenty million dollars.
I don't want to win the fight, Okay, bet, Yeah,
that's how that went. Tyson embarrassed himself for his family.

(01:29:19):
He did. He embarrassed himself to make some money. Bet
all good. And then at the end, can you fight again?
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:29:27):
Maybe I could even though he looks like the US,
there's no way he could fight. But in reality, he
could have knocked that kid out inside.

Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
Of a minute. Okay, bet that's it done. KG were wrong,
we were wrong, Trust me, we were wrong. I did
tell Man's I wouldn't be surprised if it was we
were wrong. He still doesn't admit it. He just can't no,
because he just can't listen.

Speaker 11 (01:29:49):
But this, this was my thought going into it in
the first places, that it would be fixed if Jake Paul.

Speaker 6 (01:29:54):
Won never ever agree ever. When I got married, you
do agree, but.

Speaker 19 (01:30:08):
Agree.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
It's the way you don't agree. You love each other.
That's why it's fun. That's why it's I love that
your name, Kathy, No, it's not. That's the name of
his wife. I thought it was Pete my bad a
comic because he is a figured him out. I figured out.

(01:30:38):
That's excellent recon work by you, excellent recon work. It's
one thing about me. I've got big opinions. But when
I'm wrong, I'll admit that I was wrong, and I'll
take whatever smoke you got for me. That is, we
got time for another NFL. Yeah, I gotta doc. So
that's as I had a problem always right.

Speaker 6 (01:31:03):
This is why I told you.

Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
I told you, I told you, I told you. Listen.

Speaker 5 (01:31:08):
Uh, our favorite guy, Jim Harbaugh, or at least the
three of us, our favorite guys.

Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
What's his record right now with the Charger?

Speaker 5 (01:31:16):
Do you know he hates getting compliments from anybody on
a seven and three record list.

Speaker 21 (01:31:24):
That can be a great motivator, you know, like like yeah, guy,
I mean our guys they're they're competitive people. You know,
they want to be good at what they do and
and uh, you know that can that can be a
great motivator. You know, like here's a here's a little taste,
but there's there's more.

Speaker 4 (01:31:46):
There's more.

Speaker 21 (01:31:46):
That's something that that drives you to to you know,
be the best, to have to get to the top
of the mountain. Uh, you know that's that a gene
is in you. Then yeah, that kind of success can
can fuel you, you know it. You know it can
be like a like an atta boy.

Speaker 9 (01:32:06):
You know.

Speaker 21 (01:32:06):
The other side of that coin is you know, I
just go back to what my college coach Bouchambeckler used
to say and Gary Moehler, who was the defensive coordinator,
he would he would say, you know, when people you
know are giving you accolades and compliments and telling you

(01:32:27):
you've arrived, that kick them in the sheins. You kick
them right in the shens.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
That's what you do.

Speaker 21 (01:32:33):
And that those accolades could come from you know, could
come from people you don't know, could come from the media,
could come from your teammates, could come from friends, could
come from your own family or trying to make you
soft kick them in the sheins. So two ways I
look at that.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Kick your soft broke.

Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
Even though this is his first year coaching with the
Los Angeles Charge, this isn't his first year in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (01:32:58):
And if you look at what happened his.

Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
First three years for the forty nine ers, he went
thirteen to three, eleven and four, and then twelve and four,
and in the twelve and fourth season he lost to
his brother in the Super Bowl. So for him, this
is where he's coming from when he's saying like he
don't want to hear that, like he's been thirteen I
was there when we went thirteen and three. He went
thirteen three and didn't get to the super Bowl. He
went twelve and three, didn't get to the super Bowl.
Then he got to Super BOINTU lose. So from his standpoint,

(01:33:21):
it doesn't matter when you're doing it in November and
December and even parts of January.

Speaker 4 (01:33:25):
It matters when you get to the end. Much like
Dan Campbell the Boys, Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (01:33:29):
Hey, I got one of your favorite things, right, the
Power rankings for this week coming to you from Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
There's only one more, only one other thing I enjoyed
more than power rankings. You know what, when you're on top,
I'm gonna show you the damn power ranks.

Speaker 9 (01:33:47):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
Okay, I love this too. I love this too. And
it's from Fox, our home, our home network. Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (01:33:54):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
So the Lions on top of number one? I think
this is interest Well, no, it's not interesting. But the
Bills and eight and two are number two on this
list despite the fact that the Chiefs are nine to one,
but they were head to head they beat him. Correct. Yeah,
how about what is it? Chargers Philadelphia is fourth on
this list? Then it's then it is Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Minnesota

(01:34:18):
above Green Bay. I disagree with that one a little bit.
Washington at nine, the Chargers down there at eleven, Cardinals
at ten.

Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
Charges should be seven, The charges should be seven. I
have the best head coach in the game right now.
Justin Herbert is reminding us why people are ooing and
eyeing over him five six years ago. He's better than
Sam Darnold, He's better than an injured Jordan love and
then you see what Lamar Jackson has done, So I
like him at six.

Speaker 4 (01:34:47):
I gotta have the Charges at seven if we're being
real on this power rank.

Speaker 5 (01:34:50):
All right, so let's go for the rest of the
playoff team Seattle at twelve, Denver at thirteen, and the
Houston Texas at fourteen.

Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
Who's not in there? Nine at number fifteen? And you
know who else is not in there? The Atlanta Falcons.
They're sixty. They got buried last week. How many people
seven we're wrong about the Falcons?

Speaker 5 (01:35:09):
Well, I last week. I was shocked how bad they
got beat. I think they make a comeback this week.

Speaker 11 (01:35:16):
How can how can you have the Cardinals at ten
when the Texans lead their division at eight and three?

Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
You just believe in the Cardinals. I mean it's Cardinals
in the NFC, Houston's in the a f C. Yeah,
but I just don't think the Cardinals are a better
team than the Texans. But that's just me. Don't forget.
The NFC is better than the AFC, no doubt pred percent.
All right, guys, we're gonna.

Speaker 4 (01:35:38):
Mark Cardinals actually leading their division right now?

Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
All right? Yeah, number one, it could have a two
game lead by the end of this week. By the way, yeah,
we're gonna break. When we come back, will be joined
by our uh ws WSN injury insider, doctor Jeff Pierce.
Would get the latest that in Alex Angeloni and he
hopes that he has to come back. But first message

Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
Can they still pack that place?

Speaker 22 (01:41:48):
They're twelve thousand plus? Really live nation? I love it
they You know, Three Doors Down was there too, so
they were nice. I got I got to be a
dresser for a few minutes and all polite. Hey, Doc,
we're good. There's one of the guys wasn't feeling one
hundred percent, so we have double check on him.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
Make sure you give me the old special sauce. It's
a little cockail.

Speaker 15 (01:42:14):
I like.

Speaker 3 (01:42:15):
I like a couple of songs about three Doors Down.
But you'll be a back to back night for you.
You go on Po's night.

Speaker 22 (01:42:20):
You know, I want to and I was going to,
And now I don't know what I'm doing. So I know,
Buddies of power. I haven't talked. That was my guy,
but you know he went to rush that he took off.
You know, I'm kind of a lost entity in the world.
I should call him right now. I can't wait for

(01:42:41):
the book to come out.

Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Man, the people that you've rubbed elbows with and the
people that you pause and the people that you know,
I mean, pretty remarkable.

Speaker 22 (01:42:51):
Do you think people would want to buy that though?
Because we've toyed with it, because German just got done
writing his book.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
Depends home tell all you want to be. You can't
just say I know George Gervin and people think you've
got to tell a salatious story about knowing George Gervin,
or you got to tell a salacious story about Pavl Datsuk.
You can't just be like, oh, yeah, well we travel together.
He's a really nice guy. That book won't sell, yeah.

Speaker 22 (01:43:14):
But you know I am at a level of confidence
with them, Like I have like three funny stories come
to mind with Pavel.

Speaker 10 (01:43:22):
Right now that I cannot talk about.

Speaker 2 (01:43:23):
But see if you didn't talk about it, now you're
talking to me about a book. But if you don't
want to go that route, then there's no book.

Speaker 22 (01:43:34):
Well, you know, I am with a locked door and
it's usually a one on one or one on a couple, and.

Speaker 10 (01:43:43):
No purely sportsman. I having the Russia back with the guys, but.

Speaker 2 (01:43:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 22 (01:43:51):
I mean that's I think that's a level of trust
how I've been able to get to still do it,
So it's not worth it to me at this point.
Like Gervan and I like we would tell stories with
the NBA and the NBA lum and you know there's
stories that Bill Russell being on them. We're going out
golfing with all the big sponsors and he's holding court.

(01:44:11):
Everybody's like it's everybody's listened to Bill talk. I mean
it was just it was crazy. I mean it was
like those are those are stories I could tell. But
now it's exciting and some of the.

Speaker 2 (01:44:21):
I would say, no, I would say, don't do it
just because especially if you like these guys.

Speaker 22 (01:44:27):
Right, I mean I'd ask for their permission, right. But
but the other story of the book is is to
put those people in a book. You know, give me
your two pages. I like short reads, like how are
you successful? To be honest, and I'd like feedback from
you and the listeners. Would it be interesting to know
what made the difference for them? Who was the person,

(01:44:50):
what was the moment, how'd you know you were going
pro Like Gervin, We've had a lot of talks. Draper,
We had a lot of talks just because I'm close
with them, even kid Rock, you know, stuff like that.
I mean there's there's there's moments in their career where
they like they fought through something, they had to get
through it. You know everybody today things it's just laid out,
you know, Like I was listening to the radio tape.

(01:45:10):
It's like even you guys like yourself, people think you
only work two hours a day. It's like, no, there's
a lot of backstory to that. And stop being so
simple minded thinking it's right in front of you. That's
that's just how it happened. How Lebron get to where
Lebron is. The haters on him, you know all of them.

Speaker 3 (01:45:28):
Are you talk about it's secret saw you talk about
it's that secret sage to Lebron.

Speaker 22 (01:45:34):
He's got a secret drink too. But no, I mean
that's the book we want to write. Yeah, what made
it different? You know, how did you become successful? Who
was the person?

Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
Now that's an interesting thing again, anytime you write a book,
like what's the goal is the is the goal of
the book to humanize these people to really where you
can learn about what makes the difference in somebody's life.
What can be so impactful or is it to make money?
You know, because if it's to make money, you're gonna
be a salacious and as revealing as you can. I'm

(01:46:05):
not saying you you in general, if you want to,
you know, honor these people and share you know, knowledge
of because not everybody gets to meet who you get
to meet, not everybody gets to talk to who you
get to talk to. I even like if you would
have told me twenty five if you'd have told me

(01:46:25):
when I was a kid that I'd walk on the
field at the home field for the San Francisco forty
nine ers because the Lions were playing in the NFC
Championship game and Barry Sanders saidhi to me and knew
who I was, I'd have told you you're freaking crazy, right,
You know what I mean? If you would have told
me twenty years ago that I'd be doing a show
one day with Braylen Edwards when I'm sitting there covering

(01:46:46):
them in the end, you know what I mean. Like,
if you tell it's amazing people don't have the access
that we have the access to It's pretty remarkable.

Speaker 22 (01:46:53):
But you know, credit to you. You kept your head
down and you kept doing it. How many guys you
know that you passed up? They did go drink, they
go do something. You know, like every athlete they tell
this story. I didn't live that life. I I you know,
it's not sacrifice, it's a choice. And kids today don't
get it. Like there's a crossroad you're gonna come through

(01:47:14):
and you're gonna make a choice. And that I always
say to my kids alone, you want to be seventy
five eighty five percent. That sounds great, but added up
over five ten years, you're missing the guy who's doing
one hundred and ten percent every day.

Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
And that's what you know.

Speaker 22 (01:47:28):
People are like, oh, you're a jocksniffer, you do this,
you do that. I'm like, no, I respect this man
who worked his butt off when he had a choice
to not do it.

Speaker 10 (01:47:38):
Or when German tells.

Speaker 22 (01:47:39):
Me, I shot, I shot, I shot, and then I
shot more, and then I had perfection, and then I
had Doctor J beating the crap out of me, and
he made fun of me, and he picked on me
and he did all that. And Doctor J sitting right
here while he's telling this story, he goes that man
is the reason why I'm who I am because he
they motivated themselves and you know, we'll switch the Lions.

Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
No, I think that's that's awesome, man. I think that's uh.

Speaker 10 (01:48:05):
I mean, that's the thing. Who's your like?

Speaker 6 (01:48:09):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (01:48:09):
No, Dal just retired?

Speaker 2 (01:48:11):
Right?

Speaker 10 (01:48:12):
What feeders said? What was his tweet?

Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
Do you guys know that I vaguely but not enough
to say he was said.

Speaker 22 (01:48:18):
I was pretty much paraphrasing I respect you tremendously because
you challenged me to become a better player. Right, you
made me a better player because you were beating You know,
I wouldn't let you beat me.

Speaker 10 (01:48:29):
And that's just a different mentality, no.

Speaker 2 (01:48:31):
Doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (01:48:32):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
DOC.

Speaker 10 (01:48:34):
You're gonna clip all that out, No, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
I enjoy it. Let's get into the Detroit Lions. Obviously,
the news about Alex Dann's lonely with the broken forearm really, uh,
just one of the worst things that could happened in
the game yesterday last week. Do we have that, annimy? Okay,
let's just roll that up there, just show us break
it down for us dot.

Speaker 22 (01:48:57):
Actually, do we have the injury and then I can
show you the wedge fracture. Like, basically, this is a forearm, right,
Everyone's like, it's a forearm fracture. It's the radio the
ulner bone in the radio radio bone basically both sides
the if you're putting your hand out, which is considered
the automical anatomical position. The owner, I always say for

(01:49:18):
U of M, even though MSU it's you yuh. The
is on the inside, so the medial side, so you
think the owner bones on the inside radios on the outside.
Typically the owner bones mostly more important. But in the fracture,
it was a wedge fracture. He has arm out at
a limpit at a disadvantage, and one player went one

(01:49:42):
way and one player went the other way.

Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
If we have it, we don't.

Speaker 22 (01:49:46):
And it basically it's like I hit you here and
I hit you here, and something had to give, and
that's what was going on. And I was actually at
the game and didn't see the actual play because it
was off to the side.

Speaker 10 (01:49:58):
We were sitting a little bit.

Speaker 22 (01:49:59):
Look oh, and then but you walk saw him walking
off and I told my friend, like, that's either dislocated
or broken. And he, like I said, before even shed
a tear. The guy just walked out.

Speaker 4 (01:50:09):
You can see him on the on the TV copy
I was watching. You can read his lips.

Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
He said, it's broke yea, yeah, Florida got man shot
out to Florida.

Speaker 22 (01:50:18):
Huh and then yeah, that's like, what's my prediction. My
prediction is four to six months for recovery, four to
six months for recovery, for full recovery.

Speaker 10 (01:50:28):
But you're looking at three to six weeks for him.

Speaker 22 (01:50:30):
To be back in action, six to eight, six to
eight weeks, six to eight weeks be back in action.
But the thing I wanted to point out is, like
Aiden Hutchinson and him, we talked about this before. Is
that Buddy System and Brandon you can probably talk to
this too. It's like when you're rehabbing alone and you
see the whole other team doing their thing. It's it's

(01:50:51):
it's mentally challenging, depressing, whatever word we want to put.
So the silver lining glass half full. I think even
Dan Camp made a comment that the two of them
together are gonna push each other harder than if they
would have been alone. So it's they're gonna feed through
each other.

Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
You're one thousand percent. When I got drafted to the
Cleveland Browns. The only thing I was excited about. I
was like, this sucks, but at least I'll get a
chance to play with Kellen Winslow, who got drafted the
year before. He got hurt the week after I got
drafted and didn't say a word to me the whole
time I was there. I turned my ACL in December,
my rookie year, and who's the first person to come
talk to me in the locker room.

Speaker 4 (01:51:27):
It's Kellen wins He's like, hey, look, we're gonna get
through this.

Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
You're absolutely correct because we both went in and he
had a knee scope and I have my ACL surgery
January two of six. We were legitimately like we were
competitive throughout the whole process. Who's getting to the facility first,
Who's putting in more hours like getting who's ranging motion
gets there faster? Having Kellen it got me through that process,

(01:51:52):
and I looked up two years later, he and I.

Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
Both made the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:51:55):
But if I didn't have Kellen, that process is longer,
it's more grueling, and you just don't.

Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
Know where it could have been. I had him and
I was able to get through the process. You absolutely
correct about that.

Speaker 22 (01:52:05):
Yeah, you know that is the silver line for us
to begin with. You know, Aiden, you know we saw
the pictures of him being in the water.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Yeah, I ask you about that.

Speaker 22 (01:52:14):
Yeah, so I just from an anatomical understanding what that is.
You know, I mentioned that right after he injured himself
that that's the goal. There's like steps, he's in that
phase type of thing. But you'll see that he's got
water up to his neck. The reason is because he
needs to be non weight bearing that on that extremity.
And when you're at ninety you're at ninety percent weightless

(01:52:37):
when you come up to your neck, and then just
so you gauge, you're going fifty percent at your belly button.
So that's how he'll that water will slowly come down,
which he'll put more pressure on on the leg as
he progresses. But you're right, they're gonna competitor. And the
other thing Mac brought up, Darren is that we're almost
to the point where we got to slow them down.

(01:52:59):
Right when they start working on themselves, they don't. They
stop listening to the doctors, they stop listening to the trainers.
You gotta say, look, there's a physiological moment that you
have to allow to happen. You can't be doing resistance
stuff too early. So I think that's what's gonna be.
Some of the issue right now is you know, just
just settle down, let some natural healing take place.

Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
But that's when you gotta trust your body because there
are spots in there are phases where if you trust
your body, it's allowing you to do it. Sometimes the
doctors are a little two castes, but trust your body
is the biggest. Trust your doctors, but trust your body.

Speaker 4 (01:53:31):
Because sometimes there is you can push a little bit more,
but your body will let you know.

Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
You'll get inflammation, you'll get some.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
Tightness, you'll get some stiffness, you start to feel on
the other side of your body because you're trying to.

Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
Say yeah, so trust your body through the whole process,
no doubt about.

Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
