Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's two pm Detroit, and you know what that means.
Detroit Media icon, Ryan Rmani, University of Michigan, Great Edwards
and of course Mass are about to take over on
Woodward Sports every day two to four pm. It's the
best Detroit sports talk on Detroit's best sports networks.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Sports Welcome into Money Networks with MAZ. Did you see
the new openings? Shout out and West first. I'm actually
doting and pay attention to it. I doubted and paid
attention to what I saw this great energy, right Ryan,
looking at these newer clips myself, this is a week
ago it was and in tom as away looking wonderful

(00:42):
as always.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
That's not Ryan or Money. Uh, it's my man stick stick.
How are you doing on this? D Mac? Twenty eight
years later? You see what it is? Stick? How you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Take me back to where you were when d Mac
beat that you know what out of claw them you
and jump started the toughness.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Era of If I remember correctly, I was at a
house party from a girl from Walt Lake Center. This
sounds like sounds like I was sixteen years old about
this time, and you know, the red Wings were just
really starting to trend up. And that moment transcended everything.
I mean, I'm not the biggest hockey fan in the world.
I wasn't growing up. It was a sport that was

(01:23):
a little too expensive for my family to get me
involved in. My mom's like, you already play football, baseball,
and basketball. We're not getting up at four am for
you to play hockey. It's just not gonna happen. Loved though,
the Red Wings when they were doing it, the just
the party going nuts, everybody having fun, and just the
amount of people that had pictures of Osgoode on their wall,

(01:43):
and Vernon after that hole fiasco, then Shanahan, then of
course Darren McCarty, right, guy, like just an absolute legend.
If you would have told my sixteen year old self that, hey,
when you're forty three, you and d maac are going
to be teammates at a sports network, right, I never
would believe it. But Batman right there, I'm so glad

(02:04):
he had this moment. He was built for that moment.
And you work with him every day now too. You
see that you're just doing that fir his teammate that
had nothing to do with Darren McCarthy. That's the best
part about that. That had everything to do with him
getting retribution. I'm one of a guy who messed up
his best friend.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, you know what, watching this and you never want
to bring to the great thing about this moment ninety five.
I try to get all my boys to watch hockey.
I'm like, you gotta watch the Red Wings. I'm like, look, bro,
it's not some white stuff. I said, it's legit. I said,
if you like dribbling, crossovers the whole thing. I said, look,
it's the same thing with puck. Puck skill is like
dribbling the basketball said, the scoring is league. We got

(02:42):
this guy by the name of Sergey Federal tap into
the sport. They didn't want to tap in. They said, nah,
we're not buying it. And then when this happened, it
changed the dynamic. Yeah, you see people fighting, but when
you see your team fighting, only your city, and then
you see your city winning.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
This was a pivotal moment.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
We're kind of unifor at least the people that I
try to get to watch sport. Pete, how were you
What was your feeling when you saw this go down?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I was at Marges Bar.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I was at Marge's Bar and Gross Point Park baby,
I'm gonna tell you something right now, because I was
feeling the paint of nineteen ninety six and seeing Draper
get his face smash into those boards, and to see
d Mac absolutely.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Turtle that Claude fraud Lemieux.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
It was absolutely wonderful, and it was just so emotionally
satisfying because I went through the dead wing Zerra, I
went through all that crap, and then Jacq de Murez
came in. You saw a little bit of rail light
of hope, and then it got better from there.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
So that was my crowning moment of being.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
A young adult. Baby, That's what it meant to me.
It meant everything to me. And d Mac is the man,
go number twenty five.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
What do you think, Bray, We're gonna save tom asway
for the last He's gonna take us through that moment.
He was actually in a h this happened. Man, was
there Just just look at this. This is so great
about this captivating picture.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
As I stand up. If you guys can't see, you.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
See he gave up.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Trying to find an angle, trying to find an angle
to hit him again because he was already giving up.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Ricky Burns uh This is exciting.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 8 (04:20):
Another thing I love about this picture is that his
boys are on the way, like he don't need him,
he doesn't need help, but his boy's coming.

Speaker 6 (04:28):
I was seven when this happened, so I'm pretty sure
I was sleeping.

Speaker 8 (04:31):
But this was the team when I when I moved
a farm the hills, and all my friends were excited
about the Red Wings.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
I had never seen a game.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Yeah, right, we did.

Speaker 9 (04:43):
It was like the Kennedy assassination of Ricky.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
This was this.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
We now know exactly what happened with the Kennedy assassination.
Time mass Away.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I bring you in to close the deal twenty eight
years ago. And what did this do for you? And
what did you do for real wing hockey?

Speaker 7 (04:59):
Man?

Speaker 10 (04:59):
We were the flat of the Red Wings. Lucky enough.
Back then I started my career at w j R.
So our our studio, we called the Studio P because
it was a bathroom literally across from the locker room
at the Joe Louis Arena. So we stood right there
in the tunnel when this went on, and right next
to the bench. And you see Mike Vernon coming up.

(05:19):
He's ready for some action. You see Brendan Shanahan, the protector,
Adam Footz coming after him. It was an amazing, amazing night.
Without this night, you do not have the Stanley Cups
that follow that year and the year after. And of
course you can take it off to his four d
Macus won four of them. He's just the lucky charm.
He is the ultimate heavyweight here. Bob Probert, that's the

(05:46):
big three right there. Gordy Howe obviously the grandfather, the
godfather of all of them. But that was a true
payback for what they did to Chris Draper the year
prior to that. And you know what Avalanche won that year,
It repelled them to win. They swept the Panthers that
year in ninety six. But we call it sweet revenge
for a reason.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (06:06):
No.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
And the cool thing about it is, I know I
was new to hockey in ninety seven, haven't started in
ninety five, but it was the first time that I ever.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Saw goalie super getting involved into a.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Goaliees got into it burning in this game, and I
was good would later, you know, just it was it
was fun. This is this is you're talking about the
childhood like this was dope, Like the Reil Wings hockey time.
I remember hockey Town was born. The first everything was
hockey Town. It was transition. Hockey Town was like, all right,
cool footballs. It was like the pistons are done, we

(06:37):
need something else, and it was real.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
We did that event what two years ago with Claude Lemune.
It was Avenue in Royal Oak where him and dmak
rewatched the game and kind of walk you through their thoughts.

Speaker 9 (06:46):
He was good.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
It was one of the coolest. It's up on our
woodward if you guys want to search it. It's up
on our YouTube page.

Speaker 9 (06:51):
But the thing refresher today and put it on.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
We refreshed d mac explaining the whole rivalry. That's the
one we posted.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
That's a good one.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I like where your head sank. Thanks buddy, Yeah, yeah,
you're getting the hang of this. It's the Benjamin Button
of but Claude, m claude lem you during that back
and forth with d Mak it gets to the third
periods Claude, you're watching the game. Claude skates back out

(07:20):
on the ice. He looks at Mak.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
He goes, I don't remember that.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I don't remember being back on the ice after that,
Like claudelam you literally d MAC blacked him out that
game to where he doesn't ever remember. And this was
twenty five years later. If you would have asked him
the day before he rewatched the game, he would have
told you he never played again in that game.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
He's like, wait, I went back out.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
This probably is an interview out there with him talking
about how that was.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Bro. That's the interview we have with Wilbard Sports. We
partnered with ESPN two years ago. So if you watch
what's it called un Unrivaled, you'll you'll see at the beginning,
you'll see me adjusting a soundboard. You'll see my my
grandfather's Masonic ring adjusting the sound and you hear me
going test Mike test, and then like during it, you'll
see the Woodward Sports microphone when we're asking questions in

(08:05):
the crowd. Like, ESPN did a really good job with that.
They wanted to be a part of our event, and
then they captured.

Speaker 10 (08:10):
A fantastic documentary. You guys gotta watch it. Tonight's the
perfect night. Yeah to watch that, It really is to
watch that. It is the anniversary. And if you guys remember.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
They were losing this game, yes they were. They came
back and.

Speaker 9 (08:24):
Won it overtime, who scored the game winning goal and
course of Stanley Cup winning series winning Philadelphia against the Flyers.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
He's just that Specially.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
The cool thing about it to see is if you
just watched this from a bird's eye view, you just
think there's some brute beats up another brute.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
You know, it's no big deal about it.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
But to watch how everyone feels about Darren McCarty, even
his own, like his rivals, even the rivals.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Even the guys that he fought with.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
He jumped in the ring with teammates, rivals, coaches, people
in the media that have worked with him.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Everybody has ever work with him, been on his team,
has had the same thing to say. He is that guy.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
He is the best teammate that Stick said earlier through text,
He's the best teammate that you ever get.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Second by.

Speaker 9 (09:12):
A great friend.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
He's a and a great friend calling big bro for sure.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
That my mom loves him. She's always if she hadn't
seen him in a while. How's Darren doing?

Speaker 10 (09:19):
Know that they have to lose to the stink and Avalanche.
I mean they crap the bed last night. You know
what they lose in Colorado. They just don't look at
they have it twelve games to go, they're still in it. Guys,
three points back, there's four teams to catch. The percentages
aren't high, but if they win ten to twelve, I

(09:40):
think they sneak into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, you know, well, let's let's not sour the day.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Before because to me, this is besides this whole thing
coming to fruition, And obviously that's a cool part of
d max life, but this is the coolest Dmax story
I know, and I could tell anybody.

Speaker 11 (10:00):
So.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
D Matt grew up in Leamington, Ontario, which is about
thirty minutes across the border. So I mean he's pretty
much a Detroit guy, right, it's in our suburbs. It's
you know, if you drive thirty minutes north, you're in Troy.
You drive thirty minutes south, you're in Leamington, Ontario's Rochester.
So him and his cousins. He had a cousin that
was half a year younger and another one that you
yere younger, and they grew up. One was Toronto maple

(10:24):
leafs fan, and D Matt grew up a Red Wings fan.
When they were ten years old, ten years old, d
Mack and his cousin had a bet playing pond hockey
that the Red Wings would win a Stanley Cup before
the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Oh, he's still waiting.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
The guy with the Toronto Maple Leafs is still waiting.
But do you know who scored the game winning to
win that bet? Ten years old? He won his own
bet was ten years old.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
Patience.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Now here's again.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Isn't that one of the coolest stories ever?

Speaker 9 (10:54):
Dude?

Speaker 4 (10:54):
You can grow betting on a team and you're the
one who scores the game winning their first Stanley Cup And.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
When he won, was that his first thought? I gotta
ask Yeah that I haven't asked that.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
But here's the kicker. What's the interest on the bet?

Speaker 6 (11:08):
Right?

Speaker 4 (11:09):
What's the interest on.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
That winning goal?

Speaker 4 (11:13):
At that point, it doesn't matter. Money means nothing. It's
not only did I we bet when we were?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I still need my five dollars to validate that. Just
that I still.

Speaker 12 (11:27):
Okay, Kilo, whatever, Well, you brought up anniversaries two moving Wait,
I'm not even get that across the border.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
I'm not I can attest UK speaking of anniversaries.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Mass and speaking of something that will start off talking
about twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Detroit does have the Final four.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
But you know what, this is an anniversary of the
number one watched college championship game of all time, Magic
versus Bird today nineteen seventy nine, March twenty six.

Speaker 9 (12:03):
Played the championship game in March and they played today.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
What seventy nine?

Speaker 9 (12:08):
It was seventeen watching that game?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
What was that game?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Like the fact that we've had all the streaming and
everything else in all the games and the viewership has grown,
the fact that nineteen seventy nine still is the largest
watch championship game of all time that has to say something.

Speaker 10 (12:23):
It is amazing, And you know what it got the NBA,
It's kicked start that it's needed. It was on its deathbed.
The NBA when those two guys finally got finals was
on tape, the left tape delay.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
The fact, can you imagine watching the Can you imagine
watching Steph and Lebron at three in the morning.

Speaker 9 (12:40):
Because the Nicks played the Lakers championship.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
You gotta remember though there wasn't like instant gratification. Nobody
knew what the hell was going on. It was still
a mystery to you.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Well, that's what I'm saying because it's on delays.

Speaker 9 (12:50):
Watching the Lakers.

Speaker 10 (12:51):
Next to nineteen and back in the seventies, the early
seventies Championship NBA round, it would start live at eleven o'clock,
eleven thirty at night, you know in New York. If
it was in LA and my dad wouldn't let me
stay up for it. He had to send me up
to bed, but I would sit on the steps and
you know, watch the TV from the steps. So that's
how long it goes. But that was an amazing game

(13:12):
Bird and Magic. Some people say the semi final when
Magic beat the Notre Dame Fighting Iris was the real
championship game. Indiana State came in unbeaten. They had to
get a last second shot to get in that final four.
But that team was all Larry Bird. He didn't have
a heck of a lot of help on that Sycamore team,
but they went undefeated till the end. And the Green

(13:34):
and White, of course, with Greg Kelser and Magic Johnson,
they took it off the sheet.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
That game was a birth of the NBA as we
know it. You know, you look at that game. I'm
not telling them the NBA man. There was a ton
of great players that came before that. The NBA as
we know it, that was a birth of in nineteen
seventy nine, Magic and Bird. What happens that first year
Magic was in the league, he wins a championship. Bird
comes in next year because he set out that first year,
and now in eleven years, Magic of Bird was in

(13:59):
the finals. From nineteen seventy nine to nineteen ninety it
was magical, Bird was in it, amazing, and then Michael
Jordan he pops in in nineteen eighty four and the
rest is history.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
But nineteen gloss over the bad boys, I'm not glossing.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
I'll tell you that they're not loossing over. I'm saying
either Magic or Bird from nineteen seventy nine to nineteen ninety.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Was in there. This is no pisiness.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
But this is no Pistons saying I won't tolerate that there.
But with that being said, twenty twenty seven, Final four,
shout out to the Michigan Detroit Sports Commission. They make
it happen that we always have them on the show.
Dave Beach out here, we go, re announce it. It
is legite.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
What's the last one?

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Two thousand and two, two thousand nine.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
What's it?

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Two thousand and nine, two thousand nine.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
I stole a sign.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
I have it in my basement. Michigan State, North Carolina.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Michigan State, North Carolina updated. Yeah, speaking of twenty two
final four, Yes, that was I saw Steph Curry play.
But Davidson back then?

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Is there a chance to time? Is it's still the
coach at Michigan State for this tournament?

Speaker 9 (15:03):
Mans Heck yeah, Man, heck yeah. He's gonna win it all. Ms.
You will win it all. By the way, we do
have a super chests.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Get going.

Speaker 10 (15:12):
It's our guy, Jared Sayers. He loves his grand Another
three tickets for Jared Sayers. He might be going to
the game. Hey, coming up on Friday.

Speaker 9 (15:21):
We'll tell you.

Speaker 10 (15:22):
About that tomorrow, he says. Grand Valley State women's basketball
head coach. Mike Williams won the D two National Coach
of the Year as of today, My brother Phil won
the D two National Assistant Coach. It's against Call State
Dominic Hill six pm. Grand Valley will play Pittsburgh State
eight thirty tonight. This is the final four of the

(15:43):
Division two basketball Give good luck to those Lakers and
anchor up, baby anchor.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Up, anchor, up baby ancher. Yeah, now you got me
doing the anger up things. Let's get it going man.
But that yo, today is the last day to qualify,
to qualify, because tomorrow we're pulling, right, there's no qualifying.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Tomorrow is just pulling. So today's last year to qualify.
You see what it is.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
It's two tickets to this Friday's game against well the
Detroit Pissons gets the number one C in the East,
the Cleveland Cavaliers two tickets parking pass as well as parlay.
And then there'll also be a Buddies gift card, buddy.
So it just keeps getting better. So the end of
the day, this is the last day. After this, there
will no there won't be any more entrance.

Speaker 10 (16:25):
Five dollars, get your one ticket, ten bucks, get your
three twenty dollars, you get ten entries.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Am I allowed to win?

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Yeah, they are not allowed to win, but it's okay
your money, but it is there anyway.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Speaking of Michigan State, Michigan Stick, we haven't talked to
you about what's going on in the tournament.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Turns it Bay sixteen.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Michigan is still in it, and of course Michigan State
looking good early, hadn't played anybody, but they looked good.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Where are you at with.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Those two teams potentially although some people don't want some
bozos around here, but potentially meeting in the Elite eight.
You gotta get through two teams first. We know that, oh,
this is a good team in August number one. With
that being said, potential, I want it.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I want it all. I want it for the States,
I want it for the drama, I want it for
the pettiness. I want it all. And you know, I
have heard some soft Michigan State fans saying that they
don't want to play Michigan for a third time and
they can't see a reason because they don't match up
well against them. And I would give you that argument
right like, I would say, you know what, that that

(17:28):
makes a lot of sense if Michigan didn't go out
and win the Big Ten Tournament. Because Michigan went out
and did something your team couldn't do, they owned the
Big Ten Tournament title right now. So wouldn't you, as
a natural competitor, want to take down the team that
won your conference tournament. That's where I don't get Michigan

(17:50):
States shying away from this matchup, whether you think you're
gonna beat them or you're not going to beat them.
They were the ones cutting the nets, not you, So
why wouldn't you want to show them? Hey, you know what,
we got you twice during the regular season. Yes, you
cut the nets down, but you know what, in the
big tournament, guess who put your lights out. That would

(18:12):
be my mentality if I was from Michigan State, but
I'm learning Michigan State people are very soft when it
comes to this. They don't want the rivalry because I
believe it goes back to a philosophy. My dad used
to say, you never want to fight a little person. Right,
You're supposed to win, but if you lose, you look
like an absolute So there's no winning and getting into
that fight.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
Right.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
He used to give me that advice when I was
a small child.

Speaker 13 (18:35):
So.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Smaller smaller than Yeah, you know what I mean. But
to me, I don't know why anybody in this state,
or anybody that loves basketball, or anybody that loves sports,
or anybody that loves rivalries wouldn't be fiening for this
matchup because if you are Michigan State, oh you're stick
of being called little brother. Now's your chance. We beat

(19:01):
you three times in the season, we knocked you out
of the NC DOUBLEA tournament. How you ever gonna talk
to us about basketball? You got to have to stand out.
But I just don't understand the people who don't want it.
I want it so bad, like I want it for
the network, I want it for the views. I want
to content. Nothing could go wrong if those two teams
play each other.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
On Sunday, Yeah, one of ever soon.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I think the difference between you know, football and basketball
is just talking about this playoff situation, like we'll all
being the number one seed. Like, if you want to play,
if you beat Michigan who beat Auburn in college basketball,
it doesn't matter that you beat Michigan, you didn't beat Auburn.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
It doesn't matter, right, you beat the team that beat
the team, You beat the team that was in front
of you. So with that being said, if you play Michigan,
it doesn't soured.

Speaker 9 (19:45):
And if you beat.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Michigan who beat Auburn, who would be the third time
you play them, doesn't that take your momentum even more?

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Doesn't that make you feel a little.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Bit more confident about who you would play.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
If I was Michigan State, I was playing against Michigan,
I would be excited to bury Michigan said for the
third time. And I think it would just give the
players that mentality like, man, we're invincible.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
The fear of oh, it's tough to beat a team
three times.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
That's just the fans.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
I don't think, don't think that's that's true.

Speaker 9 (20:12):
Players don't think that, But I don't think.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
I don't think the count January about the fans though, And.

Speaker 9 (20:21):
Players want Michigan. The Michigan players want Michigan State.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
The dust up at the end of the game. Had
it on the logo fighting like list w W E
would have scripted this MS you owns them this year.
They owned them.

Speaker 10 (20:36):
They beat the hell out of them in the second
half of the first game, and they ran them off
the court and at the Breslian almost off the court
because Michigan stood out on the label on the logo
at the end of the game. So there's a lot
of bad blood between these two teams. It's gotta happen.
If there's a basketball guy, make this game happen on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Absolutely, as it relates to the players, Pete, I bring
you here on this as a relations to the players.
It's very similar to when Michigan football team it was
between Florida State and Alabama, and then they made a
decision and everybody said, oh, Michigan, Oh, they didn't want
to play Florida's they didn't want to play Alabama. No,
the players wanted to play Alabama. And you saw that
the fans didn't want to play Alabama. We can be

(21:16):
honest about that. Fans, as much as they want to
talk about we want to play, they didn't want to
play Alabama, but the team did.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Just like Michigan State.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
The fans don't want to play Michigan, but the Michigan
State players damn definitely want to play the Wolverines.

Speaker 10 (21:28):
While up playing Florida State that beaten up seven old
team and they still won the championship, and the MSU
fans and the nysayers could say, you beat nobody, you
beat nobody. So this time they beat the best twice
they ran them off the field.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
Michigan Michigan, I.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Mean, miss oh, missus and damn good team and already
is the number one overall seed the turn right, so.

Speaker 14 (21:56):
I wouldn't I wouldn't put guys, I've watched college basketball
a lot, guys, I wouldn't be I wouldn't say that
MSU getting past Ole Miss is just gonna happen, none
of them.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
No, no, no, I'm just saying Ole Miss. Okay, ms
you can play them off the boards and that's fine.
But the guard play on Michigan or on Miss.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
On Old Miss.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
These guys can sing three pointers like crazy. And I'm
not saying that MSU is gonna lose, but it's not
gonna be a cake walk. They played Bryant, they've played
New Mexico. Great, that's wonderful. Now you've got a real
team coming up with six ouid, six solid scorers. So
I'm just saying that I want to see Michigan Michigan State.
But let's not take Old Miss for granted.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Pete, you said the same thing. Yes, say nobody's taking
Old Miss for granted. The first thing that I said
when we got on here, Old Miss in Auburn number
one seed and the team is very Cayle. That's the
first thing that we said. Yeah, absolutely right, Oh Miss
can play. But we're not jumping ahead of them. We're
just talking about them.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
You're burying the lead people. The lead is Michigan, Michigan State.
This Sunday, I.

Speaker 10 (22:57):
Got something for you guys. This is tom Izzo. I'm
gonna play a piece of sound for you guys. This
is Tom Izzoh defending the way he built his team
versus a team that's built through the transfer portal.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
You know who that is.

Speaker 9 (23:13):
That's Michigan right, check it out. Here's Tim's brother Syndrome.

Speaker 11 (23:16):
But what my team's done, it has been incredible and
I'm not ready to move on. So jud I've followed
what you said. You know, I'm gonna worry today about
the guys I got in this program that have done
an incredible job this year, and that's it. And if
that costs me later, so be it. But tom Iso

(23:40):
isn't cheating the people that he has that have been
loyal to him for this chaos that is going on
out there. Cool, you got enough? No, no, because you
don't understand. When I came back Sunday night, whoa that

(24:02):
was it? There was nothing on my mind. But given
these guys a chance to win one more game, get
to a litate and one more game and have a
memory that will last their entire life, their kid's life,
and their grandkid's life, because that's what it is. And
so excuse me for being passionate about it or pissed

(24:23):
off about it, whichever words.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
You want to use.

Speaker 11 (24:25):
But I'm not going to talk about it because it's
not fair. It's not fair to the people.

Speaker 7 (24:34):
You could say it's fair to your program.

Speaker 11 (24:37):
I'll run my program like I want to run my program,
and people have a disagreement with that, God bless them.
But these guys that gave me everything they could give
me are gonna have a chance, and I'm not going
to screw it up by spending any time on other
stuff other than you know, I don't eat, I don't
sleep right now, So why the hell would I do

(24:58):
something else that might ben fit me a year from now?
And really, it's not gonna benefit me now because I
don't know what I have. I don't know how much
money I have. I don't know which players are leaving
or stand. I don't have any idea, so why would
I do that waste of time?

Speaker 10 (25:15):
I love this guy, I absolutely loved this guy. I
tell you a million times. If I had a son
that played basketball that was talented enough I'd want him
to play for tom Izzo and no other coach. I'm
talking Shrzewski, I'm talking any other guy you could throw
out of me, Patino, Kyla Pari. I love this guy now.
I like what Dusty May has done. He's come into Michigan.

(25:38):
He took a program that won eight games last year
and was embarrassed. They were laughingstock Juwan Howard. I don't
know what the hell happened to him, but he's had
health problems and it just didn't go the way I
thought it was gonna go. So Dusty May rebuilt his team.
Tom Izzo recruited the hell out of his team. He's
got Jason Richardson's kid, Jace Richardson.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Must been real tough for recruit them.

Speaker 10 (26:01):
That's good, Well, that's good. He keeps it in the family.
Is the way he's is the way he's saying it now.
You guys know me as a Michigan fan, but I'm
a tom Izzo fan for sure, and I have no issue.
Matter of fact, I love the way he does it.
Not many people could do it the way he does
it anymore. You hear Greg Campy, I can't go recruit

(26:21):
kids because some other team's gonna offer him more money.
The kids come here, sure they're gonna make a few dollars.
There's some great boosters at Michigan State, but they want
to play for tom Izzo. And I don't blame him
one bit.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Oh yeah, my apologies over here, Look a little distraction
walking in the studio.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Yeah, it was. This is how I took it.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
I didn't take it as it was a slap at Michigan.
If some people took it that way, if it was
going against Michigan because it was Dusty May has done.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
I didn't take it as that. I just take it
as two things. One, this is him trying to motivate
his team and get his team hype. This is a
dope sound bite. He understands the game. He knows how
to play.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
He plays it as well as anybody who's ever played
it at the collegiate NCAA tournament level.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
He knows this is a pivotal point. Now you're entering
the Sweet sixteen. Now you need to.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Rejuvenate your guys. Also, Jace Richardson, your best player didn't
have his best game. This is motive basic and I
like it. The other side of it, he doesn't like
the nil. He does not lock the transfer porter. He's
an older coach. He's not talking about what's going on
down in that arbor with Dusty Maye, who had to
replace eleven players to which he bought in from the
school that he coached at. He's talking about everything. He's

(27:25):
talking about Scottie Pippen's son leaving. He's talking about dude.
He's talking about why Jay Wright retired. He's talking about
that and has been for a very long time. So
he's gonna run his program his way. This season, winning
the Big Ten Tournament, getting to the sweet sixteen has
kind of reminded people that Io still has it, Iszo
still can do it.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
This is him circling.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Wagon, getting his program, more importantly, his guys, getting them
ready for the sweet sixteen and the rest of the
tournament because they believe they can win it all.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
See what I see, unfortunately for Michigan State, is dab
O Sweeney, a guy who won't embrace what's right in
front of you now, a guy who's not gonna jump
on the trend of what successful teams are doing. And
granted they're in the sweet sixteen, so they've been successful.

Speaker 7 (28:06):
This year.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
But the residual effect down the road of never pulling
someone out of the portal, you know, because no one's
recruiting high school kids anymore. You're recruiting kids out of
Oakland University like those those smaller D one schools have
now become the feeder schools for the blue bloods. Unfortunately,
and I know you made the campy comparison. Camp he
doesn't have the budget HZZO does. He's starting to what

(28:30):
do we talk about matt Ishbia, the Supports University or
Michigan State University. They have plenty of boosters up there.
So if ISO wanted to go down that route, he can.
And I get given him credit for getting Jason richardson
Son in there, but I mean gotta wait.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
You gotta wait and see how his season finishes.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
That's the thing. If he wins a national title this year,
I gotta shut the hell up.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Because one, you know what I'm talking Because one, he
wanted Big tim but you can argue was a bad
Big tenures.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
The regular season ten though. That's like saying great Lions
went fifteen and two.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
All I'm saying is you gotta stick with it because
Jim Harbaugh. Same thing Jim Harbaugh, same thing. It was like, Oh,
he can't win it his way. He's not gonna win
his way. Michigan doesn't spend money, they don't dip into
the nil. They won't evolve like Alabama or this school insert.
You can say they did some other stuff, but as
it relates to on that field, stayed his way and
he mens, you won a national championship and he was
an older coach.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
So I think this is a good year to kind
of watch, wait and see because the team.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's playing the best, which they're one of, and has
the best coach, which he's one of, they got a shot.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
So if they win this year, did everybody has to
shut up? Well?

Speaker 4 (29:33):
I pissed off half of Spartan's Twitter earlier this week
by comparing Mike Tomlin to Tomasho.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
In the sense that just getting there he has just once,
but getting there has now become the.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Things every year they're gonna get there, getting.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
To the playoffs for the stillers like getting to the
sweet sixteen, the ladie for Michigan State.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
And what I don't do a lot of pitch understood
is I love Mike Tomlin. I think like tom like
I would have killed for Mike Tomlin to be the Lions.
But the standards have been lowered for Mike Tomlin. Yes,
I mean yes and no. But if Mike Tomlin went
out and got that second Super Bowl, what would we
look at him?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
But that's what I'm saying that the standards have been lowered.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
It once Mike Tomlin first jumped into the time he
won the Super Bowl, to the time he went back
and lost, to the time he still was thirteen and three.
The standards for the standards now the standards for the
Pittsburgh still is him drop Now if the Stillers go
nine to eight and get into the playoffs, it's another
successful year.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Those weren't the standards once upon a time. And just
like Michigan State, right, those weren't the standards once to play.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
The National Championships were the standards. Final fours were the
standard and then. And that's why I didn't think it
was like insulting by any stretch of the imagination, because
I view it as if either one of those coaches
got their second championship, they'd be goaded immediately. I know
tom is always looked at as a Hall of Famer already.
Tomlin probably is two. But if you get that second championship,

(30:54):
you're in a special territory beyond everybody who just has won.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
If you're a fan and you're holding onto a championship
in two twenty five years ago, and you're a loser.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
And I hate to tell you, if you're a fan you're.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Holding on from a championship of twenty twenty five years ago,
you're a loser because at some point you gotta challenge
your team. You gotta challenge your program, your friends out
and say, hey, look, damn, can you guys bring in
some players.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Can't you evolve with the times? Can you figure it out?
But if you're still saying, oh, well, they won, they
got to the playoffs, it's a good year. They made it.
He didn't break his streak. The streak has become more
important than winning in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
It's kind of like the Red Wings making the playoffs
streak right twenty five years in? Are ow great? But
you're geting swept out in the first round, right, And
you know there's always the flip side of the coin too.
I like adding a championship and viewing these guys how
we would as one of the greats. What happens if
you take away tom Izo's championship in two thousand, is
he looked at as one of the greatest all time? No,
so there you go. That's why the second one is

(31:51):
necessary to hammer home that he's one of the greatest
of all time.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Part of them steaking this is no hate, part of
them team and the love in which he deserves. He
won early like Tom Wanley was your five, your four
year five. That's part of mistique. When you take over
franchise from a legendary coach, then you continue it in
your own him. Then you win a championship five years
that that's that's the that's oh shoot, there it is right.
He's a hell of a coach. But if you add two,

(32:16):
it takes you to another stratus sphere. He's a better
coach than Jay Wright, like j got two championship.

Speaker 10 (32:22):
Hey, super chat Burn, I want Michigan showing up with
briefcases of money buying the greatest teams ever assembled. Let's
be the bad guys in mighty Ducks with fifty titles. Burn,
you get yourself another ticket and he will pull that
name tomorrow for the Brailn package of the Pistons.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Underwood almost want to give basketball. They got Trey McKenny
next year.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
I mean, I almost want to give Burn a couple
actually tickets. Just funny. He's absolutely right, Louke.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
They made it about the money. They made it about
money and said, hey, look, finally we want to pay
these players. And not only that, finally the school, the school,
you can just pay the player. Well, you know who
wins in those battles, School with bad mc cartys, school
with the biggest bag. You're absolutely right, Burn, we have
the biggest bag's backs. Over Look, let's take a commercial

Up, my guy?

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Second round, forty nine pick overall, and you know he
has become the staple.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
He is a legendary, a ton of legendary Wings players
none more legendary to us and none more legendary to
the run we talked about. Is d mag Man a
game set match. I'm taking from there just as you're
looking at it, take us through this moment.

Speaker 9 (38:26):
I think this is what people do when they go
to the Louver.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Talk talking up.

Speaker 9 (38:37):
But this isn't this like to me? You know what?
And and I'm going to give prop where I heard it, Wojo,
I heard.

Speaker 18 (38:47):
The fact that that represents loud and proud to me,
that represents the troit To me, that represents what we
are in Michigan and around about it's and it's right
and wrong on ability And just to have you know
that this isn't about me.

Speaker 9 (39:05):
I'm I'm a big part of this.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
But you see how everybody's even on.

Speaker 18 (39:11):
Their team, like everybody's all in being you know how
it is is that that's what you needed and what
this game meant, right because in hindsight, right I'm sitting
here with four cups and winning the cup right after that.

Speaker 9 (39:25):
But but it just fact.

Speaker 18 (39:31):
But the fact is also to it that this moment
with galvanized not only the team, but a fan base,
a city or like because this was us being proud
and and yes, but like we talked about a big
d energy earlier today, the gravitas of having to win
the game.

Speaker 9 (39:49):
Also, so this is every yeah, this is everybody stepping out.
You know.

Speaker 18 (39:53):
It was I you know, it was iconic to just
and I swear to god, I just boom went my
head right now. The fact that the same guys that
were on the ice for the overtime go over, the
same guys in the middle, all this right, and Claude
forgot at that point, dude, which was awesome. Wasn't that
cool to hear him. We were talking about it and

(40:16):
and here's the one thing, and you know this b
is that that even like Claude dem you and what
you say about it when he sat down and talked
to us and and uh, you know went from his
side the genuineness, right, it was genuine that he was
knocked out and he didn't remember playing the other two periods.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
And thank god, looking at this picture, you know we
were talking about it earlier.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
You know, you're looking at Brandy coming to your back.
He's ready, he's actually looking ahead of you because he's
supposed to. What I never paid attention to him just now.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Is who's fifty two again coming from out of foot.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
All right, Look, he's not looking to charge Brendan, He's
not looking to charge you. He's not looking to charge
whatever is around. He's looking at Claul you who's the
brute of the avalanche on the ground in the feet
of position. And you know what he's saying, oh s
h T went because if you see.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
Your stud on the ground, it's like.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
That, just looking his ass is like, I know that ain't.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
On the ground. We don't have a chat.

Speaker 18 (41:23):
Was one of the toughest guys, you know, to prelude
this app where Larryanov started it and Shanny broke me
free because foot drive me first. Right, But think about
this too, and this is this is why you know
bringing it up in different things. There's a couple of
points is that Neil brought it up because that Forstburg

(41:43):
didn't return to the game, right, he was concnstant though
he played the.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
End of it.

Speaker 18 (41:48):
Patrick, he shoulder was never the same since going high
in the air and stuff like that. Like this moment
and this game just was the I call it red
wing d or you know, whatever you want to call it.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
It's it's sweet.

Speaker 18 (42:04):
It is sweet revenge, Payback my end of the show today.
Just remember Payback's a bitch and Karmen is real. That's right,
you know what Also to and I always point this out,
you can't really see it as much, but if you
forget the pull up the pitch no no, right here,
this is called the rage vein like the rage the

(42:26):
indentation because you can only make that when you're when
you're in rage, you know, like not pissed.

Speaker 9 (42:32):
Like beyond. So when you're saying yeah, like beyond when
I was, you know, then you get bad. But then
you've been like bad mad, Yeah, right exactly.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Unfortunately we all know that.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Yeah, are there any small stores or any you know,
like hidden stores from this game from this moment that
you know we don't talk about because we focus so
much on the main points because I mean, this is
the main point. But there's some small stories from his fight,
from the stuff from from his night.

Speaker 18 (43:02):
Well just I think the whole game, everybody like you know,
put like and the young guys like the the big
thing Jamie Pusher starts the game out and fights. They're
one of the toughest guys in the league at the time,
and their heavyweight Brent Severn right away. I know Aaron
Ward fought him later on, but guys are ready to
answer the bell and and and had to do it
smartly because we had to win the game also, right.

(43:24):
So so I think that the one caveat that you'll
see is if you if you're playing through the game
or you get to the end, the one and this
is like looking back, but Scotti Bowman at the end
of the game, after I scored the goal, just sort
of jumps down from his haunts and he and he
double taps the bench a couple of times, and to

(43:45):
me looking back, not understanding at the time, but like
like now you know what it meant is that he
got us. This is like the moment where he saw
what this would have will mean to our team, like
he almost like knew what was coming.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
One thing we haven't mentioned at all today during this
and reliving the fight. This part is very nice, but
I think we've neglected to mention the part where you
drag him over the boards and nee him in the face.
We haven't mentioned it because I think see, I think
the need of the face and the boards, you know

(44:22):
what you got a wait and go.

Speaker 9 (44:24):
Here we'll do a pull because I was trying this up.
I am, I am this this fist, this hand right because.

Speaker 4 (44:31):
I right here in the moment, and I don't know.

Speaker 18 (44:33):
You got to remember there's a goaltender coming to smoke me,
that he's going to intercept and he's going to fight.

Speaker 9 (44:38):
But I've tried to take my fist and put it
through his skull and rip his heart up through his
nasal passage. Right, But I'm not even done. So what
do I do?

Speaker 18 (44:46):
And I tell everybody the story everything's going on, and
I'm frustrated, and we've been there, and I just look
up at the bench and I just boom, see drapes
and I'm like, all right, I called the bulldog wrestling
and I smat his face and I tell her it boom,
it blew up on the America Banks sign. How do
I know this because I signed it for the President

(45:08):
is a golf buddy of mine. And then I wasn't done.
But when you watched and the unrivaled espn UH documentary
has the best shot of it, and before I saw it,
I would never admit to meet him in the head.

Speaker 9 (45:25):
Right, absolutely and hit him so hard.

Speaker 18 (45:31):
That to this day, if you run into claudelm. You
look at his forehead and you will see a freaking welt.
Why because karma is real and it reminds him every
day not to be stupid, and.

Speaker 10 (45:42):
It matches drama star and not how that works. Hey,
back about the referees in this game. They let you
do what you did and they left you in the
damn game. To me, that's the best. That's the best
officiating I've ever seen all sports.

Speaker 4 (46:01):
What's that they want?

Speaker 9 (46:03):
Shocking? The line has been gone.

Speaker 18 (46:05):
So I got four minutes for rough and yes, pausible
deniability because when I went to meet him, he turned
his head, didn't see it.

Speaker 9 (46:14):
It wouldn't kick me out. And you know the thing
I don't think that. I think what made his life
a little more difficult was that I scored the overtime.

Speaker 18 (46:23):
Slay the Dragon, Got the Girl, Remember the first rout
you can get Fire up your eyes.

Speaker 9 (46:32):
Session saving the girl running away, Fire up your eyes.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
You think it's one of those things where as much
as humble go ahead, No.

Speaker 6 (46:38):
No, I like that Slay the Dragon, Get the Girls
T shirt.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
Yeah, I think it's one of these things, mag man.
And you know I say this from the bottom of
my heart.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
We're like, we're gonna look back years later and realize
that we worked with you, you know, realized that we
had a chance to be in the studio with you.
Realize that right now you're breathing on my shoulder. You
know what I'm saying, And it's gonna be amazing. Bro,
Love you everything, Everything you've got you deserve, even even
now as people give you flowers, even now you're still
humble about it.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
Like you said, I was just doing my job.

Speaker 6 (47:06):
I was just a guy.

Speaker 4 (47:07):
Well since you were just again you are vegan.

Speaker 18 (47:10):
Don't ever forget well, you know, at the end of
the day, like and and today's day and age or whatever,
there's there's talkers and sometimes more talkers than doers. Just
never forget that I'm a doer. So so if I
say I'm gonna do something, I have to because I
can't go against the fabric of my being.

Speaker 9 (47:30):
That's good and bad. What did Scottie say to you?
And what did you guys do after this game? You
know what?

Speaker 18 (47:37):
Mass Nothing needed to be said, you know what I mean.
It was one of those things that all the greatest
moments they just don't need words. But you just knew
I knew how proud like. It was almost validation to
whatever whatever maybe.

Speaker 9 (47:59):
Uh indiscretions that I might.

Speaker 18 (48:01):
Have, maybe that I would, but the fact that he
always remember I.

Speaker 9 (48:07):
Came in when he came in, he gave me my shot.

Speaker 18 (48:09):
If anybody believed in me as much as I believed
in myself, it was him.

Speaker 9 (48:13):
So it was more of a proud dad moments, right,
And and that's all. That's he never had to say
anything to me. Right.

Speaker 18 (48:20):
The greatest thing Scotty Bowman ever said was when he retired,
he said, I was the second favorite right winger to
play from next to fo Yeah.

Speaker 9 (48:27):
Right, so I got that.

Speaker 18 (48:29):
Yeah, so right now I got that going for But
it was just but it was always being you can
appreciate that. There's just certain coaches that and it wasn't
about but you knew the approvals. They didn't have to
say anything. You just walk by and maybe they'd pass
you by a little slower or maybe you get that
nod or that whatever double look, Yeah look bad, the
double look.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
I was like Lloyd like it took Lloyd and it
took me years to get there. Coach cards. It wasn't
my first it was my second year it was my
third it was by my fourth year. And even then
it was at the end where like you see a
little bit, you're like, oh, shoot, that's it. Yeah, that's
the move.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
Why you're here, We're gonna wait and do this the
top ten type of day. But since it involves you,
it involves fights.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
D Maggie. Take a look at some of these fights.
So in honor of your scrap would call them.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
You wasn't really a scrapch you kick, because you know what,
I put up some of the best fights of my
life or most memorable, as well as a couple more recents,
just to get the younger guys, if you know, not.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
Off the top of the Menic nightclub.

Speaker 18 (49:30):
November eleventh, ninety seven was the rematch off the draw
that everybody sometimes they get them confused, but that one
we stood.

Speaker 4 (49:37):
Back and through them and I laced them with the funeral.
November eleventh was the game.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
This was yes one, That's what I meant.

Speaker 6 (49:44):
So would you like to start with the subject matter
that we're currently on?

Speaker 7 (49:47):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (49:48):
Why why not?

Speaker 2 (49:48):
Why tell us about this? This happened a year before
you got drafted. Correct, this would have been ninety one.
Bob Rober tied dome me. Barb Proper was a legend
on the ice with the fizz. Just tell us about.

Speaker 18 (50:04):
BP Oh, dude, pro dude the best. He was the
he was the man, the heavyweight giant, just such a
lovable guy. And you gotta remember, I come from over
in the same area he does, so I've known him
since I was like fourteen or whatever. But he was
just like such a great guy to be around, right,
But when it came down to business, and you know,

(50:25):
the fact is that there's no one tougher. And the
one thing is what Proby does is he'll hit You
can get him in the shallow end, but when he's
gonna be sure, he gonna drag you into the deep
water and then you're gonna swallow. Like I remember, I
remember that fight there because of the rematch and whatever.
And sometimes with Broby it would be don't wake the

(50:45):
sleeping giant, right, So the first time they tell him
and died on be fun. He didn't really know DOMI
and he was just like because probably sometimes you gotta
hit him four or five times before he realizes he's
in the fight and whatever like that until he gets going.
But with that the paper, right it's up the tails
of the tape. Guys, remember the tails of the tapes.
But I think that the one thing about that fight
right there, I think probe you hit him with like

(51:07):
fifty five punchers or whatever that Tiedobie went in the
locker room and had welts all over his face.

Speaker 9 (51:12):
And the whole thing was against ty domies. You never
wanted to fight him. She didn't want to break your hand.

Speaker 7 (51:16):
On his head.

Speaker 6 (51:17):
Geez at week.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
So we got we don't just have hockey. We got
all of course, let's switch Pete. Let's do the one
you and I talked, Oh you want to do that one? Uh, well,
we're here now, let's get this one. Mj Ressie Miller.
Now the reason why this was up here for me.
Rememberind these are mine. I never saw Michael Jordan and
the scuff for a fight up until this moment.

Speaker 6 (51:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
I saw a little bit with you know, with the knicks,
but never really hands on, never really pushed it. I
saw that and was like whoa, And he threw a punt.
So it wasn't the most physical fight, but it was
something that I never seen before.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
It might really add.

Speaker 9 (51:49):
Well, I don't even remember that fight I got.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
To That was when he first came back. This this
is first game and the Pacers. It was a Sunday
night game or Sunday Sunday day game. First game back.
He gets into it ready, they slamm each other against
the boy.

Speaker 10 (52:02):
Oh this is this is this is Itsie talks a lot.
I'm sure he talked a little too much that night.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
The Black cat as they said, all right, put up now.

Speaker 6 (52:10):
Not the one we were talking about. This, Oh god, this.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
One you got talking about.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Yeah, I got I gotta this. I know were autographed
in my basement.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
Go for it.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
Uh. Nolan Ryan, Robin Ventura. Robin Ventura made the mistake
of charging the forty year old man on the mound
who never lost. Not charged Nolan Ryan. That is the
baddest man to ever stand on a mound in the
history of the world. My favorite all time baseball player
and pitcher, Nolan Ryan.

Speaker 6 (52:39):
And he did it to so many did he like
box on the offseason two fighting John Wayne.

Speaker 9 (52:44):
And West Ester.

Speaker 7 (52:49):
Wayne.

Speaker 4 (52:49):
I mean there one of those bad There's another one
where he took a line drive off the face and
stayed in the game, would blood all over his face,
like you did not mess with Nolan Ryan best baseball
player of all time, and when Robin was the coach
of the Tigers. I took the picture down there to
see if he sign it him getting his askicked.

Speaker 9 (53:08):
He would not try, would.

Speaker 4 (53:11):
I had Nolan Man? Oh yeah, I saw you signed
this picture two years ago when we did the event.
So if Claude can sign this right.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
Claude doesn't remember this.

Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah, when I saw him charge and money, I'm young,
I'm like, but Nolan Ryan and Ricky Henderson were my
first two favorite baseball player.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
Like Junior Griffy he was third. It was Nolan Ryan
and Ricky Henderson. He is old man.

Speaker 4 (53:41):
Strength, another guy that you never wanted to charge him out.
Remember Kyle Farnsworth. Kyle Farnsworth beat the hell out of eventually.

Speaker 6 (53:49):
Royals players.

Speaker 18 (53:49):
He was like a black problem black stick lock lift
perfectly roll him on the ground as.

Speaker 4 (53:54):
A pop face like four guys in a row.

Speaker 19 (53:57):
He had a finishing moved styles.

Speaker 6 (54:02):
Would you like masses sure.

Speaker 7 (54:07):
Of course? Lack and white.

Speaker 4 (54:12):
Rudy tell John, I don't forget it, kists.

Speaker 9 (54:16):
Face being black white, This should not be in black.
You didn't want to hear the radio verse.

Speaker 4 (54:23):
Listen Kerber Washington, Washington, Curly.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
To Joan takes a pleasant Rudy t those Toms Gentoman.

Speaker 9 (54:34):
Rudy t from Ham traffic, Michigan. Freaking Kermit Washington, thesty
even try to fight. Rudy was running and he fast
his facing.

Speaker 3 (54:46):
He finished him.

Speaker 9 (54:49):
I hated Corbitt Washington with a freaking passion that you
would have believed the passion. I hated his guts. I
still hate his guts.

Speaker 4 (54:59):
That's as a good guy.

Speaker 3 (55:00):
He never played another NBA go.

Speaker 4 (55:05):
The court.

Speaker 9 (55:07):
That should be in color, that wasn't color.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
It wouldn't reculate your life.

Speaker 4 (55:12):
I swear to God it alvit. Text nails the ball,
halb text nails the ball and squid well luckily.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
And you gotta write the peach basket that picture.

Speaker 4 (55:28):
You gotta walk out because after the game, that man's
gotta go to coal mines.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Watching Joe Louis and Max smelling Spence smelling with the
right Louise would have left smelling.

Speaker 9 (55:39):
Getting paint enough these days, Max bear another one.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
We let these boys, Yes, yes, I don't think we
can do any better.

Speaker 9 (55:51):
Got a juicy one, making a juicy one.

Speaker 3 (55:54):
All right, This is more.

Speaker 7 (55:55):
This is.

Speaker 9 (55:57):
This is more mantle down the barrel.

Speaker 18 (56:01):
We call that RAI down the barrels Jose's glasses or
the bats.

Speaker 4 (56:07):
I loved it.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
Jose Batista seemed like a player in because I think
it's twenty twenty one. He seemed like a player in
twenty twenty one, where Old Doors seemed like a player
from the nineties, like Bautista square it up. But you
know that's the cute thing, a square up, no fight
Old And that's not the first times got into subscraps.

Speaker 10 (56:28):
That was for Joey Bats throwing his bat up in
the playoff that he he clearly put a show on
and a lot of guys did not like him, and
that took care of it.

Speaker 3 (56:39):
Has he had.

Speaker 4 (56:41):
Got any more of those? Oh I got We got
a couple of nothing kid versus Jermaine O'Neill, and so
I did that up there because.

Speaker 20 (56:51):
That was like the whole mouse should have put up
yells at the But that's likelro on our test versus
from the sul David Wallace versus Freddy Jones, one of
the dunk.

Speaker 6 (57:05):
We got everything but football.

Speaker 4 (57:06):
You want one football, just.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
Throw it up there, all right, my friend, there you
go now this fight happened. I can tell you about
this fight.

Speaker 2 (57:14):
Joey Porter, William Green, Wood and Green running back out
of Boston University of Boston colleg excuse me, BC.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
This happened a year before I got there. This wasn't
even when the game started. This is warm ups. They
have been beefing since the last time they had played.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
They had been talking and chirping and the press and
the media and Joy Porter walked up to William Green
on the sideline and he never stood a chest. He
beat up William Green, who was strong as I don't
know what. Joy Porter beat him up, grabbing and slamming,
and the reps came. Everybody broke it up.

Speaker 3 (57:41):
They didn't even make it to the game. They didn't
even make it to the game. So that one was crazy.
I saw that one on TV. It was not a
part of that one.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
Miles Garrett smacking Mason Rudolph that was.

Speaker 3 (57:51):
I didn't put that on.

Speaker 4 (57:52):
That was that was That was.

Speaker 11 (57:54):
That was.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
That was lame, Like take to take a quarterbacks helm
and swing it at him like the league.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
Can you get the scratching off your own helmet and
beating you with it?

Speaker 1 (58:06):
Right?

Speaker 2 (58:07):
I always thought that was Sorring before we let you
go give it. Give us a take on the rail
Wings as they now have. I think he's eleven games.

Speaker 9 (58:16):
Yeah, you know what I think.

Speaker 18 (58:18):
Uh, you know, you see the differences, and it's not
in just their team, but there's levels to this. And
I think last night, if you watch the game, the
epitome of the I said, Nathan McKinnon's goal to make
it for one or whatever like this was the epitome
of their season, which means they're in the right position

(58:38):
and everything else and bounces out to an empty net
and and and at the end of the shift he
makes it. So the fact is a little too it's
going to come up like last year. There's too many
teams to go and behind in front of. But I think, yes,
the guys that Steve has signed as free agents, give

(58:59):
them a c right, But the development, the guys they've drafted,
the stuff to Chris Draper and and the guy in
Grand Rapids and whatever like this team next year, the
next two steps, this team is gonna make him one year.
So the fact is, I still believe in the wives
are playing, you know what, everybody else will do.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
Whatever they want, you know, I know where they're at.

Speaker 18 (59:18):
I think the great thing that Blessing and the guys
now is you're going to get Sebastian Kosa hopefully some
some airtime at the end of this year, at the
end of the season here, so it gives them some
confidence to take the realms next year or at least
be a backup.

Speaker 9 (59:32):
So like, it just takes time.

Speaker 18 (59:34):
I don't know why it takes so much time, but
it takes time, especially in hockey, because you've got to
get the contracts right and you got to get different things. Now,
if you want to critici criticize some of the signings,
you know, Tarasenko didn't didn't you know, exceed his expectations
to brinke Itt did what he did. You can't be
mad at Kane. You know, like they're there, but they
just don't. The one thing that ICB is and they're

(59:57):
not good enough to not play sixty minutes and when
they don't, they can't they let that five minutes go.
And we were lucky these teams right here. We learned
how we could have a lull and get through it.
But we also had firepower that if we needed to
score a couple of goals late like in this game,
down five three with two with ten minutes left, we
were able to tie it up and winning overtime. So

(01:00:17):
different teams. But yeah, it's it's frustrating because you want
to see a playoff game, but you know, take all
that energy and put to the pistons.

Speaker 9 (01:00:26):
Well, watch an unrivaled tonight, Mac for you. Good. You should.

Speaker 18 (01:00:30):
There's there's there's great stuff and tell me because every
time I watch it. I just watched it like probably
a month ago with a bunch of people. I picked
something new up. Yeah, yeah, because you were there though. Yeah,
I was like, you were really there? One of the
ones I know that was there. I was right down
the hall there.

Speaker 9 (01:00:45):
Yeah, I know. It's a microphone on my face after
the game. One of the first people I talked to.

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
I wasn't there one of these days. I swear it
wasn't color when it was happening. Everybody.

Speaker 9 (01:01:00):
I have a great turtle deck. Thanks mag I love everybody.

Speaker 9 (01:06:18):
Just to bring Ricky up the snuff?

Speaker 4 (01:06:20):
What what what?

Speaker 13 (01:06:21):
What?

Speaker 10 (01:06:21):
What stick is busting my chops about it? I decided
to dye my hair a shade a.

Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
Shade my goate it was a black. I didn't want
it to be that way.

Speaker 9 (01:06:32):
It turned out that way. I'm sure, Pete Peter, don't
find a picture of the West. It's over and I'll
never do it again.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Ever.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
I'm all not.

Speaker 9 (01:06:44):
Me the main man, I'm all not your ole baby.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
You definitely had that.

Speaker 6 (01:06:49):
I gotta find that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
He bullied man so hard that day he went home
and scrubbed his face till that stuff came out. It's
supposed to last three months. It lasted three days.

Speaker 9 (01:06:58):
Oh, my god, it's help. It's still sore.

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
From the thing that was crazy about it. Is like
he hated Ryan days dying here and he.

Speaker 9 (01:07:08):
Did know why I folded. I folded to my family.
Wasn't your family with my family?

Speaker 12 (01:07:14):
Dad?

Speaker 9 (01:07:14):
You should you should die your hair? Look at you
back in this picture. I'm like, Okay, I'll do it.
I really didn't want to. I'm like, I hate those
kind of guys. All right, I'll do it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
And you know it turned out Mas doesn't understand what.

Speaker 9 (01:07:28):
It was.

Speaker 7 (01:07:30):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
It's funny I jumped in the chat. I know, Mas
going to talk about the super chests.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
That we have.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
We'll finish these fight lists. I know a lot of
you guys are asking about one particular fight.

Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
Don't worry.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
It is on there and it is an NBA fight.
It's Kobe versus Chris Child's. I remember watching this one live.
Chris Childs did not give a you know what about
who he was stepping to. He did not like what
Kobe was saying. He did not like the things Kobe
was doing, so he squared up on him and hate
him twice. I couldn't believe it, I said, somebody, Pobe
ran not in this NBA. He hit him twice, think

(01:07:59):
Bank right up. I was like, oh, they getting down
in the NBA. Like, but that shows you how soft
the NBA is. Like that was like one of the
greatest fighters of all time and it still was. It's
like a tier three four.

Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
Well remember Kobe, there's this great uh it's a great
video of Kobe when who was it that was making
the past right in front of his face and that
Bart Barnes and he doesn't even move. Unfortunately, did the
same thing against Childs, like he wasn't gonna move, thinking
Child's was BS and he just went right left on
him real quick.

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Kobe did go back at him. Kobe that crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
He did go back because and listen, he got two
clean shots in and Kobe was still standing. Like everybody
gets hit in the face, right, but can you take
the punch like Kobe did. That's that's the important thing.

Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
Can you stay standing.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
I think we got one left and then with that
mass the last actually there, oh there it is now.

Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
I know you guys saw this one.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Andre Johnson one of my favorite here is of all
time and Courtland Finnegan, Uh, hold on, it's so funny
because link This is how you know individuals in the
back of are younger. Lynce is a little bit younger.
I think Lynce is what twenty five exactly twenty three,
twenty four. I abbreviated Finn again when I texted to him.

(01:09:12):
I just put Finn and he kept it as fan.

Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
But Courtland Ron Burgundy.

Speaker 9 (01:09:22):
Put the question mark in there.

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
You know he's going to read anything off the prompt.

Speaker 12 (01:09:27):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
The cool thing that was about that fight is Courland
Finnigin was annoying. I played against him a couple of
times and he would do all types of little things
to get on your nerves, get up under your skin.
But the refs wouldn't get there seeing in time. He
was just annoying. You want to put hands on you
wanted to do this well, Andre Johnson. He didn't care
about the fine, He didn't care about getting kicked out
of the game. He went on and he took his

(01:09:47):
helmet off your bash and he swung.

Speaker 9 (01:09:48):
It was it's a fight.

Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
He got he beat up Courland.

Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
I got an honor for Tim Anderson and Jo.

Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
You literally almost put that on there. Tim Cook talking
about going to he was sleep and he asked for it.

Speaker 6 (01:10:08):
This is one of those fair fighters. He wants to fight.

Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Oh no, it was Tim Anderson. He got cooked.

Speaker 9 (01:10:14):
Chicago hasn't been the same since.

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
But Skago Whiteside don't win anything, including fights apparently, so
Sam as away.

Speaker 9 (01:10:21):
You have a little all right, guys, I've got the
super chat. They know.

Speaker 10 (01:10:24):
Today's the last day to qualify for the Brailen Pistons package.
That's right, Friday night. We're sending the winner, which we
will pick tomorrow. We will pick it tomorrow. The winners
going to see the Cavaliers and the Pistols. That's a
row three seat behind the basket. You too, can maybe
get a fight in tomorrow at Little Seasons Areada on Friday.

Speaker 9 (01:10:46):
Make that.

Speaker 10 (01:10:47):
You're gonna get two tickets to that. You're gonna get
a free parking. You're gonna get dinner. You're gonna get
dinner at play.

Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
You get in a fight, you can go to parlay.

Speaker 10 (01:11:00):
Give you a gift certificate. Two buddies. You guys want
to do this. You guys want to keep talking over me. Okay,
that's nice, that's nice.

Speaker 4 (01:11:07):
Two tickets to the fight here right now. Two tickets
to the.

Speaker 10 (01:11:12):
Cavaliers and Pistons on Friday, free parking, dinner at Parlay,
and of course a gift card to Buddies Pizza. Listen
to this today, folks. We have gotten a lot of people.
Send it in nitty Gritty five bucks, give me a ticket.
Mike Tommlin the most overrated coach in sports. He took
the team that Coward built, won the Super Bowl. Hasn't
done anything since anything to say about nitty Gritty on

(01:11:35):
Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Yeah this bs. He didn't take the team to Coward
at the end of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Uh, cow one two thousand and six, and then Mike
Toman turned around on one and what two thousand and
nine or ten? It was two thousand and nine, Like,
now you still the great coach. It doesn't matter about
what you take over. How many coaches have taken over
something and not looked anything like the icon that was
before them. He added his own input to the game.
He drafted some of his own players in that man,

(01:12:01):
He's got a lot of legendary players. Bill Coward didn't
draft Ryan Clark. Bill Coward didn't draft Lamar Woodley, who
I went to school with. There are a lot of
players I can go on and on and on from
the talent that he bought it and the coaches that
he kept.

Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
So no, I disagree with that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
He may be overrating the last eight years with this streak,
but he's not an overrated coach in terms of his totality.

Speaker 10 (01:12:22):
And right Greg, he's put in some money and tom
Izzo has made his winning speech. The speech that we
played earlier today on tom Izzoe really backing his squad,
not not going against nil on transfer portal, but saying
he likes to do it his way. Freddie felt give
blood fight proby all time fights. Yeah, so Freddie felt

(01:12:45):
in the hunt here those used.

Speaker 4 (01:12:46):
To be great bumper stickers all over the cities.

Speaker 9 (01:12:50):
CTG gready twenty bucks for CTG long time listen, first
time super chat and this weekend, So thank you to you.
Welcome to the Woodward Sports family, and you're gonna end
tomorrow for a shot at that.

Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
Man, I'm glad we got some new ones in there.

Speaker 9 (01:13:08):
Thank you. Martin back in for he wants ten more tickets, uh,
he says. The unfortunate news about Dame Lillard being diagnosed
with a blood clot and only being one game behind
the Pacers. Do you think the Pistons can jump to
the fourth spot in the East and host a playoff series.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Answer brought up a very good point yesterday. You know
the stretch of games that they're about to face for
the rest of the season. It's some tough teams there,
and it starts on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Do I think so? Sure?

Speaker 7 (01:13:36):
Why not?

Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
You know, the Millium is there.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
They've been playing really good, they said, Kate, So they
could play them this week. So potentially, but when I
bet on it, I don't. I don't think so. But
remember the Bucks, That's the team that I always wanted
to play. Yeah, that was a team that I always
wanted to play in this playoff.

Speaker 9 (01:13:49):
So they get now a Dame down you really want them.

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
So I think this is.

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Setting up for the Pistons maybe a little more intensive
towards the end of season.

Speaker 4 (01:13:57):
And sometimes as a team you need things to work
out for you. It's one of those situations what goes down.
I ain't grinding of Dame Willard.

Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
Now.

Speaker 10 (01:14:06):
If they win one more game the Pistols, I think
I read this earlier today, they will be the first
team in NBA history to actually triple.

Speaker 9 (01:14:13):
Their win total from the year prior.

Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
It'd be interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
You know, you know if Anson was in here today,
what he would be talking about with the blood Clods.

Speaker 9 (01:14:21):
I was just thinking.

Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
That was the first thing he texted me.

Speaker 9 (01:14:25):
I knew, got me texting the shot now because shot?
So that's right, you don't know, right, you don't know
what you don't know? Burn with another turn, Burn with
a sawbuck, which is worse evil mind the evil Mass
saka or the Giants quarterback situation.

Speaker 4 (01:14:44):
So it's solar quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
I'm glad he did that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
You know what, he go in and throw it on
around the NFL and then let Mass go because I
can't wait to get to I think we think a
lot of I think a lot of questions Mass were answered, Let's.

Speaker 7 (01:14:57):
Go big moves, who's injured? What up to? It's times
for around the NFL? And Edwards with mash.

Speaker 9 (01:15:09):
Russe Wilson, Yes, tanger Us one year, ten and a
half million with the New York Football Giants, two days
after they signed Jameis Winston to a two year, eight
million dollar deal.

Speaker 10 (01:15:21):
If Russell Wilson hits all those bonuses, which you won't,
he'll make twenty one and a half million dollars so
the Giants room, it's Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Tommy Cutlets.

Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
So everyone knows what this is.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
And there's another move that happens, so we might as
well stack this one and win, and it's the Stefan
Diggs move. The Patriots pick up Stefan Diggs three years,
sixty nine million dollars. With these two moves, they let
you know. The first pick in the draft is going
to be Cam Moore. The Cleveland Browns are going to
take Shador Sanders with the number two pick in the draft.
And then that's why now number three, who is a man,

(01:15:58):
they had to take Russell Wilson, because there will be
a quarterback. There's no stre door, there's no cam and
there's no moving up. They take I'll do a carter yes, no,
no injury.

Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
No number three.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
And that's why the Patriots, who are number four, overpays
to find Digs coming up acl. It's because Travis Hunter
is going third to the Giants. Travis Hunter Cup, I'm
being honest, Travis Huntier goes third to the Giants.

Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
That's why when we were.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
Talking about Stefan Digs, would you tell me, said I
wouldn't pay him more than fifteen fourteen mass. He's making
over twenty two million dollars. You know why, because the
Patriots they didn't pull the Cup.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
They didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
They didn't pull the trigger on Cup. They didn't pull
the trigger on the bontag Adam. They didn't pull the
trigger on t Higgins. Maybe they couldn't. They didn't pull
that trigger.

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
They let it go down to Now, who's the name
on the market, who's the white out?

Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
If you're looking for a number one water which I
don't think you can put the franchise on the back
of one A temperament of wide receivers to find dicks
a wide receiver come up, another major injury.

Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
I just don't see it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
But that's why are you seeing they paid him because
Travis Hunter is going third, because Hudula Hunter's going second
and cam.

Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
Ward is going first.

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
Travis Hunter going third. I saw the best take on that.
Because the Giants signed Jameis Winston. They're like, Travis Hunter
is the perfect pick for the Giants because he can
play wide receiver on the good throws and defensive back
on the bad throws. So he he he's like the
perfect guy to pair with winstay God, but not. I
think that's pretty much how the draft is gonna go.
Abdul Carter. It may be the wild card in there
just because of his talent and his ability. His injury

(01:17:29):
may drop him down a little bit, But if you
want a defensive lineman, that's the guy.

Speaker 9 (01:17:35):
Trade up and take him.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Yeah, as long as they get Derek Harmon, I'm a
happy man. That's all I care about. And I know
Anson put together a little trade yesterday. I don't I
don't really care about the trade. I just I want
Derek Harmon on this team. Like the guy is just
an absolute animal to be and what he does, the
pressures he puts on the quarterback, it just seems like
a culture fit coming from Oregon, played at Michigan State.
Like everything about this guy screams Detroit Lions. So that's

(01:17:58):
that's who I'm aiming for in the draft. But yeah,
as far as the top four, I agree with you.

Speaker 9 (01:18:03):
Cam Or number one.

Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
I'm just glad even close, I'm just glad the Lions
are out of this position.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
You know, remember remember twenty twenty one, Remember the nerve
wrecking A twenty twenty one, Well, we can even go
back to twenty twenty Twenty twenty one was excuse me,
Finasu the nerve wrecking that was Pinasu?

Speaker 7 (01:18:18):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
Pinasal?

Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Michael Parsons, what are we gonna do?

Speaker 6 (01:18:20):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
We got to rebuild after quin Tricia Leffis in this
spot twenty twenty two, Like twenty twenty three even we're
still like, what's the draft looked like? And then you
have a twenty three season followed by a twenty four season.
Now we're not worried about the top five. You know,
we're not worried about the seven. We're not in the
same predicaments as those teams. Feels good then the time?

Speaker 9 (01:18:39):
Oh no, no doubt about it. Man man, Another super
chat from Jared Sayers our great sorry friend ten bucks,
Hey stick.

Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
What happened to any chance?

Speaker 9 (01:18:47):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:18:48):
For a sports trivia contest the winner gets to come
in for a show and would love the opportunity to
be included hashtag I can stump mass.

Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
I'm totally dealt with it. Let's let's do it. Why
don't we make that a bit on one of your shows.
Let's put it together in the small competition.

Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
You used to do it on the hook, Remember I've
been to stump the masks for four years.

Speaker 7 (01:19:07):
You had you had the what was it?

Speaker 4 (01:19:08):
The make it home? Remember when you guys were on
the hook the four bases they had to get through
the four questions they had answered, that's right?

Speaker 9 (01:19:14):
Would you bring something like that back a long time ago?

Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
I've been trying to hold on, hold on, no, no, no,
no no, because we were not about to get the
super chattered the crier.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
I've been trying to get masks to do stump the
man for how long?

Speaker 9 (01:19:25):
Now, Masks since the beginning.

Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
You need to make a burn and drop twenty bucks
in the super chat. See, yeah, let's do that. Let's
do it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
We even did it one time. Many's too hard, Bray,
the questions were too hard?

Speaker 11 (01:19:39):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (01:19:39):
Is that why we stopped? Is that why we stopped?

Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
I did ask them. So we asked some trivia today.

Speaker 10 (01:19:44):
Actually I was pretty good. Go ahead, man, some more alright,
got some more around the NFL for you guys. By
the way, we got Grand slam Fest tickets coming up. Everbody,
I will let you guys know the text on the chat.
Somebody's walking away with two three tickets chat to our
party on opening day here's one for you, guys.

Speaker 9 (01:20:04):
Your favorite player, Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 19 (01:20:08):
Word on the street his decision will be coming down
any time now, and I guess it's I guess it's
for Steelers or retire.

Speaker 4 (01:20:19):
I was gonna see what he's not left with anything. Well,
the books out on you, Aaron. You're a cancer to
every team that you go to. Your power hungry ass
isn't gonna fit in anywhere in the NFL because you
no longer have the skills to back up the diva
attitude that you bring inside a locker room. So that's
why you're left with picking the Steelers or retirement, and

(01:20:41):
that's that's where you are. They Jets tried to play
your game. They brought in Alan Lazard, they did everything
you told him to do, and they were worse off.
They ended up firing their coach, Robert Salah to your
born native who we all know in love. So you
screwed over a Michigan boy in this process. I hated
Aaron Rodgers before, I really hate him now. And I
hope he retires and then goes lit in a camp

(01:21:01):
somewhere and does a show with Pat McAfee. I don't
care what this guy does in the future, he's got
He's not a great contributor to the NFL anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
What I would say is, I told maz Is just
you know, you've seen who Aaron Rodgers is, and you
saw Green Bay letting go in two thousand and twenty
one ors ago. When they let him go, you saw
the writing on the wall. They let him go because
he still was good because last time I checked, he
won two back to back MVPs three years before that.
You know, But like you said that they were tired

(01:21:33):
of the diva and then they saw cracks in the armor.
We saw cracks that season. Kirby Joseph dam Shore saw cracks.
He had two picks they year. Then they finally felt
good to release him. Then you go to New York
and like you said, you just saw how the show unfolded.

Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
It was more of Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
Doing the things like you said, bring in my player,
let me get this guy, let me get this offensive coordinator.

Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
I don't like this, don't let him involved in that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
And he blew the organization up, he blew the franchise up,
and now our defensive coordinators going. So now that you've
seen this for the last five years. You want to
give this guy an opportunity for the Vikings, No, thank you.
You want to give this guy an opportunity for the Stellers. Like, yeah,
he's the best opportunity now. But I don't want to
deal with this because now I got to bring in
more guys and I don't have time.

Speaker 4 (01:22:15):
I mean, you saw this last year as the Packers, Right,
they draft Christian Watson, they draft for Romeo Dobbs, they
have a young wide receiver, course show up and what
does a dude do? He doesn't show up a training camp.

Speaker 9 (01:22:25):
Then what happens?

Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
Regular season comes and he complains that they don't know
the playbook, they don't have a rhythm. Oh imagine that
you don't show up the training camp with your young
wide receivers fresh out of college and you don't have rhythm.
So the whole I'm just over this diva, like let it,
let it go. The best moment in Aaron Rodgers' career
to me was watching him sulk in the draft room.

(01:22:46):
That's all I care.

Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
I was there that day. That was actually that was
your draft.

Speaker 6 (01:22:50):
I was there.

Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
It was pretty funny.

Speaker 9 (01:22:51):
You already on the plane.

Speaker 4 (01:22:52):
You went three and I were popping bottles by that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
I I was there when it first started, Like, yeah,
what I would say?

Speaker 19 (01:23:00):
He was.

Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
Number three?

Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
We know you, we.

Speaker 4 (01:23:07):
Know talking to relevant people. Well, Aaron Rodgers ugly as
girls sit there staring at him, like you told me
you'd be top ten. I know you loved him, Man's
but at the end of it, you admit that I
was right.

Speaker 9 (01:23:20):
No, you're not right. Okay, you're not right. Yeah, here's
a here's a diva, but he's one of the greatest
to ever lace him up.

Speaker 7 (01:23:27):
That's so false.

Speaker 10 (01:23:28):
All right, that's fine. Get another super chat for you,
Mark Lorett, first time are here, never been to l
c A.

Speaker 4 (01:23:36):
Get me in that drawing.

Speaker 9 (01:23:37):
Jackson Dart's gonna fly up the draft board, will be
a top five pick. Totally agree with Brailn.

Speaker 10 (01:23:43):
So glad the Lions aren't picking at the top of
the draft anymore. Mark, welcome to the team.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
Yeah, I appreciate you. Marke Man and one of them
sella Jackson Dares moving up the board. Anson talked about
it yesterday. I agree, But that's because the quarterback situation
seems to be the same every single year you get
to the quarterbacks. The last four years it's like, dang,
all right, outside of these two guys, who isn't And
then in the twenty fifth hour, here's Kenny Pickett, you know,
in the twenty fifth hour, here's Malie Willis.

Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
In the twenty fifth hour, you know, here's Zach Wilson,
who moves up to the board because he has a
good day in BYU.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
So that's what you start to see more in these
NFL drafts, Like he's moving up because there's nothing there,
and he's moving up because you need quarterbacks, but they're
just nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:24:21):
And it's weird.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
It's a weird space because at no time in player
history has there been more access, you know, to quarterback coaches,
skill position and things of that nature. But I think
they're teaching the skills. They're not teaching in game and
they're not teaching these kids how to go through their reeds.
They're not teaching how to be a football player. They're
just teaching you skills, the dropback, the past or throwing
in ninety yards. And I don't care about the flashy stuff.

(01:24:44):
Can't you play ball? That's why Jackson Dart's moving up
the list.

Speaker 9 (01:24:47):
I got something for you guys. You were talking about quarterbacks.

Speaker 10 (01:24:49):
You talked about the Browns and you think they're gonna
go and get Shador Sanders after cam Ward goes to Tennessee.
Well as the Cleveland guy by the name of Bruce Trannon,
he's got play, He's got a podcast called Bonus Time,
Bonus Times. Bruce Trennan says, the Browns are trying to
trade for Dak Prescott. Give it a listen, y, put

(01:25:10):
those headphones on. Put those headphones on. Let me know
when you're ready.

Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
You should have kept James.

Speaker 21 (01:25:16):
Here we go, Bruce Trennan, get ready for this one.
I got a pretty darn good source within the Browns organization.
Couple I heard since our last show that part of

(01:25:42):
the reason Miles Garrett was so willing to sign this
extension for contract.

Speaker 9 (01:25:46):
Yeah, money, money, money.

Speaker 21 (01:25:49):
The Browns are negotiating as we speak with the Dallas
Cowboys for a trade.

Speaker 7 (01:25:53):
For Dak Prescott, and Garrett got all giddy about it. Why,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:26:01):
We're not going anywhere with Prescott, even if they pull off.

Speaker 7 (01:26:06):
Do some part of it and draft picks.

Speaker 21 (01:26:11):
Now, Prescott has a hamstring injury as we speak, and
he may not be ready for the start of training camp.
But this comes from a couple of different sources, and
take it for what it's worth. If it does come about,
remember where you heard it first.

Speaker 3 (01:26:33):
I heard let's thirteen seconds go by.

Speaker 7 (01:26:38):
At the end of the day.

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
This is nothing more than at the end of the day,
this is just nothing more.

Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
Than an old individual trying to stay Ralevant, We're coming
over with some crazy take, as they're known for somebody
to listen to his radio say, there's absolutely no chance
that the Dallas Cowboys trade Dak Prescott to the Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland Browns don't even have any first round picks to
trade back. That was It's the whole sexy thing about
moving on for Miles Garrett because you would get draft

(01:27:05):
picks in in return what you gave up for Deshaun Watson,
who's still a Cleveland Brown last time I checked. So
I just don't see this year. Okay, congrats, I just
don't see this having anybility. And then also too, like,
where does Dak take you? I think I don't think
this franchise is as bad as people thinks. I think
that there's something there, but Dak Prescott's not the guy,

(01:27:26):
and at some point you gotta realize that.

Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
I mean, at some point you gotta realize this is
part of the charade.

Speaker 9 (01:27:30):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
We signed Miles Garrett, we gave him forty million dollars
a year, and we promised him we're gonna try to
find some winners here.

Speaker 9 (01:27:36):
So what do you do.

Speaker 4 (01:27:37):
You leak out a rumor or something like that for
something that will never have Miles. We tried to get
Dak Prescott, Oh okay, And to me, that's what it
comes off as, just trying to appease your big time
defensive end that you promised the world to that, Hey,
we're gonna be a competent organization. We're gonna go try
to do something for you. Now they can at least
say they tried.

Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
Miles Garrett signed because he had to, that they had
him under contract, and they pay him forty two million
dollars or forty three or what the hell it is,
like that's why he signed. And then at the end
of the day, it's like, hey, look, you know what,
forty three million dollars, We'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
That's what it is.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
I don't think that it was Hey, let's pretinda, let's
say that we did that, so it leaks ound, and
I think that's what the Lions might have done. I
think that's what the Lions did. But nah, I just
can't see them going to get Dak Prescott. But then again,
bad franchises with bad front offices, they consistently do bad thing.

Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
It's still the same ownership for when you were there.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
No, it's over, it's different, but this this owner has
his fair share of follow ups, most notably Sean Watson's contract.
But now it's different. But it's the same. They just
can't get it right time as away.

Speaker 10 (01:28:47):
But you know what, We're gonna go to the break.
We got more coming back after this. But I am't
gonna throw it out there.

Speaker 9 (01:28:52):

It was already the Maac day. But I thought of
original grit.

Speaker 7 (01:34:20):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (01:34:21):
I like that original O G O D.

Speaker 6 (01:34:25):
Making the Buddies logos. It's like original. There you go.

Speaker 3 (01:34:28):
Yeah, I know how to get into mass of skin.
Did you did you? Did you hear what Lebron said? Oh?

Speaker 9 (01:34:35):
I hate that son of him, honestly, I hate his cuts.

Speaker 6 (01:34:38):
Lebron's songs.

Speaker 7 (01:34:39):
Yeah, I heard some of his.

Speaker 10 (01:34:41):
Interview on Pat McAfee. I can't listen to the whole
thing because I hate him so much.

Speaker 4 (01:34:45):
Something mans and I agree that I hate him. I
hate I hate you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
So Lebron James goes on the Pat McAfee show, Uh
do today second on that break give me interview. I
saw that they clipped because they actually did the interview
earlier yesterday. He said that Giannis on the Coupo, if
he played in the seventies, would have average, would have
have scored two hundred and fifty points. A game would
have averaged seventy blah blah blah blah blah. I just

(01:35:14):
think Lebron's war with the old culture, like the nuclear burying,
the old burying, Jordan's class burying the early two thousands,
bring anything that wasn't Lebron and d Wade in this
new age trying to bury. I come up here from
time to time and y'all defend certain things, but I won't.
This is one of those things where.

Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
Bru just shut up.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
Like Jannis Anderson Coupo two hundred and fifty points. He
can't shoot free throws. If Giana's aunt the Goopo plays
in the seventies, it is a physical game. He's going
to have to What are you talking about? It's not
like you said KD. Now KD went back to the seventies.
KD might average sixty, he said, Giannis, and then he said,

(01:35:58):
Jannas is better than doctor j I.

Speaker 10 (01:36:00):
He just talks to hear himself talk. Yeah, and the
way he did it, he's so loose, he's anxious. He's
like better than everyone. I mean, his his what's his tag?
King James calls himself King James. You're a clown man.

Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
Don't don't get me wrong, Jason. He's a great player. Yeah,
you gotta go ahead, trying to.

Speaker 16 (01:36:24):
Tell me Giannis wouldn't be able to play an NBA
game in the seventies.

Speaker 9 (01:36:30):
He wouldn't be able to do.

Speaker 21 (01:36:33):
Jannis answer the CUPO would have two hundred and fifty
points in a game in a seventies two hundred and
fifty And.

Speaker 9 (01:36:43):
He throw in some curse words and and there too,
Like he's a real cool set back list.

Speaker 4 (01:36:47):
Has Lebron ever been about anything but Lebron? I mean,
the dude went to a children's center to let them
all know he was leaving the city. Hey, kids, guess
what cone of my mean? Keep your butt like this.

Speaker 8 (01:37:03):
At this point, he's kind of like danced as he
sounds like LeVar interviews back in the day, where it's
like you're just saying ridiculous stuff that no one.

Speaker 6 (01:37:10):
Everyone knows that you can't beat Jordan.

Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
The problem is he's just awkward and uncomfortable with like
in his own skin. Yeah, Like dude, how.

Speaker 9 (01:37:16):
About the fake book reading?

Speaker 6 (01:37:19):
That's always better?

Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
Look out part of the book.

Speaker 7 (01:37:23):
All love it.

Speaker 9 (01:37:23):
I like the whole book.

Speaker 4 (01:37:25):
No, he just read bringing books. I know what Mas
is referring to. And it was it was the same
book every time, and then it never had a crease
in the binding, the same book every day. Contrary to
win Byama, did you hear about wim Bin Yama before
the like before a game reading real books? And I

(01:37:45):
forget who it was. That's like, wait, you're actually reading
before it game And he's like yeah, I want to
say it was like Jokich or something when during the
All Star Game he was like cracking on him for
reading before the game. It was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
I just thought it was crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:37:59):
Again, didn't to day When Nis first came in a game,
he was a three point shot. Remember he was just
talking out there kind of like shooting three points. Figure
it out that Hey, anyway, it was just a question, and.

Speaker 9 (01:38:08):
I'm glad you brought it up. Hey, while we're on
hoops for a minute, who can do a little basketball?
Do pistons? Last night?

Speaker 10 (01:38:14):
At one point I looked up and I went out
with a couple of friends last night. I looked up
at the screen. It was sixty three thirty three.

Speaker 9 (01:38:20):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:38:20):
I'm like, WHOA.

Speaker 10 (01:38:22):
The time I got home it was that was down
like the fifteen twenty points they went, they went up.
They beat the Spurs going away, and the Spurs obviously
now Kate and I know one twenty two ninety six,
Marcus Sassar had a nice game career high twenty seven
from Marcus aassen.

Speaker 9 (01:38:35):
You guys on the Marcus Sasser bandwagon? Is he a
future pistol?

Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
I've been on the Marcus Sassar band wagon. Well, honestly,
let let me rephrase that. Lindsey Hunter got me on
the Marcus band my last friend, did you, Because when
they first drafted him, he was like, man, Sassar's nice.
He's gonna be a nice piece. And I don't think
he's ever going to be a star starting guard for us,
but he is definitely a nice piece to bring off
the bench, especially if he's a Chanel pace guy from

(01:39:01):
Cade right, because you got a big six six plotting
point guard that controls the pace and then you bring
in the sassa is a little bit faster, a little
bit quicker. If he if he pulls it together on
the defensive end, he could be very similar to a
Lindsey Hunter.

Speaker 9 (01:39:14):
Last night, Bray said it, I was surprised they sat
Kate out. I'm like, what's wrong with him? All? They
kind of rested them up for Friday night. That's the
game we're sending you to.

Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
There was enough for Friday night. And also to look people,
you gotta appreciate what you're saying. I know a lot
of people, you know. They looked at the Pistons win
over the Sanatoinia Spurs, the Aerion Foxes and played Womby's
out for the year.

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
No, these wins are special because this is when we weren't.
We weren't getting this last year. I don't care who
we were playing last year, I don't care who was out.
You weren't winning. And now your team is winning and
they're gonna be in the playoffs and maybe even move
up to a four seed, so really appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
I love what they did last night.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
Hollins is the guy that you're trying to see what
he's gonna be started last night. Same thing with Sass
got off last night. They are looking to get guys
experienced now and to get guys comfortable because ladies and gentlemen,
your Detroit Pistons are going to the playoffs. They going
to playoffs. So I'm excited to see what it is.
And Friday is going to be a great game. Whoever
wins this package balls. You guys are going to have

(01:40:07):
a great time because the Pistons are going to go
at the nick of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and I expect
everything from JB KD and this.

Speaker 4 (01:40:14):
Team ron meta world piece. Holland gonna Can I add
one little at all times?

Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
Can I add one little little peace?

Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
At least?

Speaker 5 (01:40:23):
I was thinking about this, you know, with the Final
Four coming in twenty twenty seven, and obviously in early April,
the Pistons two years from now at that same time.
Let's just put it this way, if they're in town
playing any home games, that's gonna be one heck of
a weekend. Guys, you're gonna have a possible first place
Pistons team going for an NBA championship on the final

(01:40:45):
stretch of their regular season in twenty twenty seven, and
then you got the Final four as well. You know,
twenty twenty seven and Detroit, guys, is gonna be the
year of the basketball. I don't know about you, guys,
but that's how it looks to me.

Speaker 3 (01:40:57):
Hey, then the final side seven could be a really
good year.

Speaker 9 (01:41:00):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
By that time, what the Pistons are doing now, yeah,
I anticipate the Pistons being like a Finals type.

Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
With the final four to two.

Speaker 10 (01:41:07):
Hey, no doubt about it. Man made in the USA
five Bucks Lebama's Ohio soft go Blue.

Speaker 9 (01:41:14):
No argument here, man, no argument here. Hey, I got
a little tighter.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
I never forgive it, you know, I'll never for not
to cut you off.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
Man, I'll never forgive Lebron, not that I care, but
I thought this was kind of funny since we're on
some Lebron hate today. We played the Dallas Cowboys to
open the season.

Speaker 7 (01:41:30):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
In two thousand and eight, Tony Romo too, the whole gang.
They came up to Little Old Cleveland. We played them
in the opening. Do you know Lebron came to the
game the Dallas Cowboys T shirt and was on their
sideline like the whole time, didn't talk like none of
the guys, and on our sideline. Then then we saw
him at the restaurant we all used to go to.
We tried to speak to us. We was like, all right, now,

(01:41:52):
were good over here?

Speaker 9 (01:41:53):
King James unbelievable. I didn't like what he did. Just
one more thing. He was on again.

Speaker 10 (01:41:58):
He's all with Pat McAfee and they bring up Brian Windhorse.
By the way, they bring up Brian Windhorse, I'm a big.

Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
Doesn't have to wait.

Speaker 4 (01:42:07):
I respect I just don't respec Hi because he doesn't
pay up on his bets.

Speaker 9 (01:42:09):
Do you guys like, no, that's true. Do you guys
like Brian Winhorse you respect him as a reporter?

Speaker 15 (01:42:14):
Sure?

Speaker 9 (01:42:15):
All right? Lebron really threw him under the bus.

Speaker 10 (01:42:18):
He was like, yeah, yeah, I hear guys like you know,
Wendy coming on here on your show and acting like
he's my best friend. These guys are all a bunch
of jokers or something like that is what he said. Well,
I mean that that bugs that live in daylight.

Speaker 4 (01:42:30):
That doesn't bug me because That's how cheesy media personalities are.
They all try like I'm boys with Brayln Edwards, and
you know, they may have been at a bar with
you twice or something like that, or they've interviewed you
three times and they think you're best friend. So sometimes
I think media people overstep that. There's an old movie
called Death Race.

Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
I don't know if you no, no.

Speaker 4 (01:42:51):
The one they based that off of.

Speaker 3 (01:42:52):
It was the original with royer Ros.

Speaker 4 (01:42:55):
Name Syvester Stallone. I believes in it, but like they
have this reporter and everyone before she interviews. It cracks
me up because ever since I saw the movie, I
see reporters do it. I'm standing here with my very
good friends. They always act like that hearing good friends. Yeah, Like,
I mean, nobody knows brailin like that in the New

(01:43:17):
York media, but I'm sure there are articles written on
I'm like, IH, my very good friend Braylan Edwards gave
me some insight.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
I still got a lot of stroke man. I love
New York.

Speaker 17 (01:43:27):
Man.

Speaker 9 (01:43:27):
Hey, we got one more break coming up that.

Speaker 10 (01:43:29):
I got some Tiger's news for you, all right, I
want to tell you a little bit about Mark White

financial pinch, Mark White This team will pay up to

Gentleman, I mean I need my I need my boy
out in Sands alone. You need to have a great season, man,
because that.

Speaker 2 (01:47:31):
That that knockoff brand in Minnesota. I get tired of
here his name, what the hell his name?

Speaker 9 (01:47:36):
Yeah, he's a knock he's good.

Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
He's a knockoff. Oh, he's good, he's a knockoff. The
original those is right down the street.

Speaker 11 (01:47:43):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:47:44):
Yeah, no, uh, we were what were we doing?

Speaker 9 (01:47:49):
I got some Tigers news for you, that's what.

Speaker 3 (01:47:51):
Oh any good news?

Speaker 9 (01:47:53):
Not really said.

Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
Tomorrow?

Speaker 10 (01:47:56):
Our hero last year, our last year's hero, Jason Foley
come in off that bullpen him a tyler holding shut
games down. But Foley is going to start the year
off in triple A to Leedous, so he will not
make the trip with the Tigers. I watched that game
last night against the uh San Francisco Giants. They you know,
played out and pack Bell stated he used to be
called back bell. I don't know what it's called now,
but they look pretty good. I'll tell you who look good.

(01:48:18):
It's Casey Miies and he looked real good again last night.
And opening day is tomorrow, guys. The official opening day
of baseball is tomorrow. Japan, no Tiger weeks ago. I
don't count the Tokyo, but that's exact Oracle Park, Oracle Park.

(01:48:39):
Who cares anyway, Tigers and the Dodgers. It's gonna be
ring ceremony day tomorrow, seven o'clock start. I think it's
an ESPN game. I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
What are the chances that this is a repeat from
twenty twenty three?

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
The Lions versus the Chiefs ceremony for the Chiefs the Lions,
well they won that year.

Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
I'll take it. I'll tell you. I mean, early season
wins are going to be important for this team, so
they don't have to put themselves what they put themselves
through last year down the stretch. So and you get
onto a hot start and.

Speaker 2 (01:49:06):
The Dodgers, I mean they're down a couple of players.
They don't have eleven Hall of Famers right now, they're
down to like nine.

Speaker 4 (01:49:12):
Yeah, you know, well see what happens do they have
two series on the road before they come home Mayes.
That's what I hate, right because they could come home
oh and six before they even play a game. And
there's been years downtown like that. When people like this sucks,
you at least wanted to be three and three coming
home for opening Day.

Speaker 9 (01:49:30):
It'll be nice.

Speaker 10 (01:49:31):
Yeah, it'll be nice. Schools getting the ball gets it
in day two. Hey man, that's that's as good as
one two punch as there is.

Speaker 4 (01:49:38):
But more importantly on Tiger's Talk, Man, you were down
at Comerica Park today? Who tried all the new food?

Speaker 7 (01:49:45):
I did?

Speaker 4 (01:49:46):
Can you go through some of the new food that's
coming at you at co America Park.

Speaker 9 (01:49:50):
I can, I can.

Speaker 10 (01:49:52):
My favorite part was they have the sandwich and of
course it might the name it after me. It was
mozzarella Melton, prolog marin ira on a toasted for Casha
bro garlic for I mean, it was outstanding. That was outstanding.

(01:50:17):
They also have got some steak. They got new burgers
going down there. Uh, lots of good stuff. If you
can't eat bread, they've got breadless options as well. And
they went over everything that they're gonna give away. To
give it away.

Speaker 9 (01:50:29):
A flannel shirt, me and Nick di uping for flannel,
sad flannel Sam Night. I saw all the.

Speaker 10 (01:50:36):
Caps for all the schools. There's a Grand Valley Night.
There's a Michigan State Night, Eastern Michigan, University of Detroit
is Wayne State Knight, Michigan Knight. So that's are looking good.
The field looks beautiful. Now what they did on the field,
they took away the old key hole. The key hole

(01:50:57):
is gone. You know what the key hole is? It
was it was that house between the pitchers mound and
home plate. They were the last stadium that had that.

Speaker 4 (01:51:07):
Wait, you can get that steak at Komera. How much
is that do they tell you how much it was.

Speaker 9 (01:51:11):
They don't tell you how much it is.

Speaker 4 (01:51:13):
Okay, Yeah, here's Tomahawk.

Speaker 11 (01:51:15):
They do not.

Speaker 9 (01:51:17):
That is in the club level.

Speaker 4 (01:51:19):
I'll never see it.

Speaker 9 (01:51:20):
Well you can't.

Speaker 10 (01:51:26):
So the heat, the heated and cool seats are really nice,
very comfortable. They are going to be in the new
home Plate club, which is right down there behind home
plate in between the dugouts, uh and then the club underneath.
It isn't finished yet. It'll be done in July. And
that is going to be for season ticket holders only.
It's a lot of money to get on down there.

(01:51:47):
I don't even know if I could sneak down there, sneaker.

Speaker 9 (01:51:50):
So we'll see. We'll see how it goes.

Speaker 4 (01:51:52):
The scoreboard.

Speaker 9 (01:51:53):
It looks nice. They took the Tiger stripped down.

Speaker 10 (01:51:57):
I'd rather have it up there with the script they said,
it ran its course and it's you know, it's it's
in mothballs right now. That's co America Park. It looks clean,
and like I said, the little dirt patch in between
home plate and the Pitchers Mount has been grasped over.
So they were the last park to have it.

Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
It was called the key More Landing Strip.

Speaker 9 (01:52:15):
Yep.

Speaker 10 (01:52:17):
It turns out the players did not like it. They
did not rightly and the Tiger and the Tigers were
the last team to get rid of it.

Speaker 4 (01:52:25):
So so they've pretty much gutted everything that was unique
about Detroit's ballpark. Listen the flag polling center field they
put out because they had to put the bullpens in
because left field was too big and people can play now.
The key hole that was unique to us, they took out.
As the players can listen. The only thing they missed
the right That's what I'm saying. The layers are going

(01:52:46):
to come and go.

Speaker 10 (01:52:46):
The only thing they missed in that park when they
built it is doing the right field overhang that Tiger
Stadium ad that's it. Other than that, they've improved that
park every single year. It's one of my favorite places.

Speaker 19 (01:53:00):
Go.

Speaker 10 (01:53:00):
Uh, I know Pittsburgh has got all the word on that.
P and C Park is gorgeous. It's on the river,
it's on the three rivers, the bridge is there, it's beautiful.
Our place is beautiful.

Speaker 3 (01:53:11):
Petgo.

Speaker 9 (01:53:12):
I've never been heard. I heard it's really really yeah.
I've been Yeah. It's one of the top five ballparks.

Speaker 10 (01:53:18):
They interfect sports Illustrated put out their top they did
from one to thirty.

Speaker 9 (01:53:23):
Uh, what do you think number one was Dodger State?
Your stadium is number three?

Speaker 3 (01:53:29):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:53:30):
What do you think the number one stadium.

Speaker 9 (01:53:33):
Philly was five? I'm sure they're gonna say Fenway was two? Okay, No,
Fenway was four?

Speaker 7 (01:53:39):
Really?

Speaker 9 (01:53:39):
Yes, I don't know Petgo was two.

Speaker 7 (01:53:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:53:43):
One Kob Houston for everything that's around it and for
what it does.

Speaker 4 (01:53:51):
Yeah, really, I love I love going.

Speaker 7 (01:53:55):
To my boys.

Speaker 4 (01:53:56):
Just you don't be wandering in the wrong. You may
have a.

Speaker 3 (01:54:03):
Speaking a different experience. First, I don't play like that, y'all.

Speaker 11 (01:54:08):
Cut that.

Speaker 3 (01:54:10):
Talking about that movie. The movie that I'm talking about,
the magazine Jeans with the Majors.

Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
You always gotta make the brothers really yeah, I'm gonna say,
you don't go see it's a magazine's extreme.

Speaker 6 (01:54:22):
It's always extreme, extremely tough for extremely sassy.

Speaker 3 (01:54:25):
It's always he's both.

Speaker 2 (01:54:26):
But the end he ends up saying we never could
just be normal, Like the brother gotta be the gangster,
you know what, saying he's gotta be gay. You know,
he's gotta be extreme.

Speaker 3 (01:54:40):
Don't go see it?

Speaker 9 (01:54:43):
See it?

Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
What you gotta go all all to day stick, I'm
heading home.

Speaker 4 (01:54:47):
Uh, babysitter was six, Like, you had to take the
day off work so I can come in today hanging
with us. Yeah, I was gonna leave him work early today,
but you hit me up, So I'm gonna go home,

of sucks, but it's gonna start warming up. You're gonna
do some fun. Little Joe, Oh Joe. He's the best, due,
best thing ever. I love her so much. She's huge, though,

(01:55:09):
like on the on the scale when we go get her,
met her, she's huge, Like she's literally huge. Sometimes she's
in the ninety nine percentile in body fat, she's in
the ninety two percent Watch night and she's in the
ninety six percentile and m yeah, am I yes, this
baby is like man bossed up?

Speaker 3 (01:55:29):
Man, Okay, what's in the future or you just whatever?

Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
She wants to do, whatever she wants to do. But
I'm you know, I'm definitely out of the club and
a bat in her hand and one of your family.
Either way, I don't care if she's an ugly girl,
you know, gorgeous, No, I don't think she will be ugly,
but you know, like the uglier the girl, the less
guys you have to worry about.

Speaker 9 (01:55:50):
Oh, alright, she gonna.

Speaker 4 (01:55:54):
She gotta have a great personality, man, just a lot.

Speaker 9 (01:55:56):
