Speaker 1 (00:23):
All right, all right, Hello high and howdy, this is
your man's JK. Moore, who welcoming you back breaking tradition
and also.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Happy New Year.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
We thank god we have lived through another year, and
Lord willing we will live through this twenty twenty five
and beyond. And speaking of which, happy New Year. Tonight,
we are going to tackle something that I'm sure a
lot of you all did, maybe some of you all didn't,
and hopefully you haven't broken already, you only literally the

(00:56):
second day into the new year. And that is the
subject of making New Year's resolutions. So we're going to
look at some statistics from a website when it comes
to new Year's resolutions, and we're going to match that up,
of course against scripture out there when it comes to

(01:16):
what the Bible says about us making declarations or making valves.
So the scripture and where we're going to cover it
doesn't just apply to believers. That applies to everybody across
the board. So if you guys are ready, go ahead
and hop on in, click on that seatbelt, lean your seatback,
kick your feet up, and let's go ahead and take

(01:37):
this ride together and look at this tradition of breaking
new year's resolutions or keeping them, however, So we are
going to start from the website Drive Research with an
article entitled New Year's Resolutions Statistics and Trends. Now, this was,

(02:02):
as you all can see, it was published about two
months ago, in twenty twenty four. But what we're gonna
look at here It pretty much encompasses like the entire
year every year. So didn't didn't bother looking up to
where New Year's resolutions started? I think I did do

(02:23):
that one year, and nobody can really narrow it down.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
But a new Year's resolution.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Man, again, I'm pretty sure you all know this, but
for the sake of sacnd new year's resolution is something
that people claim that they're going to change about themselves
in the new year. So we're gonna look at what
some of the most common ones are. All right, So,

(02:53):
as the calendar flips to a new year, it's a tradition.
Oh oh, and we're not starting all too well already,
But I digress. It's a tradition for many of us
to reflect on the past and set our sights on
a better, brighter future. Well, nothing necessarily wrong with that.

(03:14):
I mean, we should all seek to improve things about
ourselves Africaan. New Year's resolutions are a ubiquitous part of
this annual ritual, But how many of these resolutions actually
come to fruition and what drives us to set these
goals in the first place. In this article, we'll deep

(03:37):
dive into the world of New Year's resolutions, exploring the
trends and statistics that surround them. So the top New
Year's resolution statistics three and ten Americans made a resolution
in twenty twenty four, and just for the sake of argument,

(04:00):
let's say those statistics are the exact same for twenty
twenty five. Sixty two percent of those making resolutions feel
pressured to do so. Wow, that is amazing. Sixty two
percent of those people making New Year's resolutions feel pressured

(04:22):
to do so so. That pressure could come from well
within themselves. It's something about their the self they they
don't necessarily like or they think they need to change.
Of course, it could come from outside influences, family spouses, girlfriend's, boyfriends,
that pack even something that your kids might have pointed out.

(04:45):
Seventy nine percent of New Year's goals involve improving health.
Only six percent of adults will make resolutions to travel more. Well,
I can go ahead and tell y'all with all assurance
and confidence that I am not one of those six
percent of adults that will make a resolution and travel more.

(05:08):
Your man JK, Yeah, he ain't big on traveling, So yeah,
that one doesn't apply to me. Actually, none of it
applies to me, because I don't make New Year's resolutions
shooting honest to god, I honestly can't remember when when
the last time I did. And also, full disclosure, I'm

(05:30):
pretty sure, yeah, I can be honest enough to say
that the ones I did make, I never kept them.
So yeah, what's the point, all right? How many people
make New Year's resolutions? Three and ten Americans made a
resolution in twenty twenty four. Adults ages eighteen to twenty

(05:52):
nine make up the biggest group that made at least
one resolution, at forty nine percent of those ages thirty
to forty nine, thirty one percent made a resolution, and
just twenty one percent of those fifty and above committed

(06:13):
to a resolution. So these are some interesting statistics there.
So it seems the younger adults made up the biggest
group that actually made a resolution. And then you got
your and you might as well say middle age or
or closing in the middle age. The thirty to forty
nine year olds they made up the next biggest group,

(06:35):
and then you got those ain't gonna necessarily say elderly
at fifty but the more mature amongst us fifty and
above committed to a resolution. So sixty two percent of
those making resolutions feel pressured to do so. Women sixty

(06:55):
four percent tend to feel slightly more pressured than men
sixty percent to make resolutions each year. When it comes
to age groups, gen Z feels the most pressure to
commit to a resolution at thirty nine percent. So we
already started off here talking about how this whole thing

(07:18):
is traditional, and just like with a lot of other traditions,
the pressure comes from again, not necessarily you wanting to
do them or participate in them.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
It's because of your.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Environment around you. Again, your family, friends, coworkers, hack, church members.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Might might all have a part to do with that.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
But that's amazing that is over fifty percent of people
who do make resolutions slightly over feel pressured to do so.
So that right there, in and of itself, brings up
a very good point of why so many people don't
keep these things, even.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
When they make them.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Because whenever you do something under pressure, it's not something
that you necessarily have purposed in your heart and your
mind that you want to do anyway, Again, you're doing
it out a tradition and well, as they say pressure,
So of course, if it's not something you really have
your heart and your mindset to yea, more than likely
you're not gonna stick to it. This is interesting though,

(08:24):
about how it says gen Z feels the most pressure
to commit to a resolution. Eight of goal setters feel
confident that they can stick to their resolutions.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Throughout the year.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Okay, so right away, all right, don't say eighty percent
of will stick to the resolution. It's just that they
feel confident that whatever it is that they set, whatever
the's goal is that they set for themselves in New Year,
they're gonna be able to make it through and hammer
it out. All right, but this is easier said than done.

(09:02):
In fact, twenty percent of those making resolutions will actively
keep themselves accountable when sticking to their goals. Wow, so
that means out of this eighty percent, yes, sixty percent
of them. At some point it's just going to be like, yeah,

(09:24):
you know what to heck, with this, I'm not doing it.
I can't feel it. I'm not feeling it, So that
is very interesting. Of those who don't make resolutions, this
guy right here, just not wanting to is the key reason,
exactly exactly because I'm finally of the age and the

(09:47):
place mentally, physically, spiritually where when it's something I feel
I need to do to improve my life, okay, I'm
going to go ahead and do it, God willing, you know,
long as I have the capacity and resources to do it,
not gonna wait for the whole next year to come

(10:08):
in to do it. So that makes sense pretty simple.
Of the seventy percent of Americans who won't be picking
a resolution, fifty six percent state not wanting to is
the main reason why. Other reasons include that they break
the resolutions too easily twelve percent and forgetting six percent. Again,

(10:31):
this whole section right here me to a t. I
don't want to make them. I don't make them, And
like I said a few minutes ago, to the best
of my memory, even when I did, I didn't stick
to them anyway. So yeah, really, really no point at all.
Those over the age of fifty five are three point

(10:55):
one times less likely to set New Year's goals weren't
compared to younger adults. This could be due to many reasons.
This group may have already reached a number of life goals,
or they may be more realistic about the odds of
actually making those resolutions happen. Okay, very good point. By

(11:17):
the age of fifty five. Again, if you've set goals
for yourself by that age, hopefully you know, if you
didn't have too many setbacks. You know, I say too
many because I hate that. No, life is life, and
all right, there's gonna be setbacks, obstacles, something that throws

(11:38):
a monkey wrench in the plans. But barring you know,
too much, anything drastic or anything too bad happening, then yeah,
by you closing in on that fifty five, sixty years old,
a sixty year old age dream, you probably accomplished what
you set out to accomplish. And or there may be

(12:01):
goals that you have that you can't accomplish yet at
that age, something that you want to do, but for
whatever reason, you have to wait a little while longer,
you have to you know, factor in a few more years.
I can definitely say for those of us working, yeah,
that that's definitely a goal when you're hitting that between

(12:21):
sixty to sixty five year.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Old age range.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
The biggest goal of that that ain't even a resolution, shoot,
that just is what it is. You're looking to retire
from working and spending whatever time you got to live
doing whatever you don't possibly accomplish it more goals on
your bucket list, or just not doing anything at all,
sitting around chilling and joining your retirement with spouse or

(12:45):
family or friends, you know whatever. So yeah, that this
this right here makes complete sense for people in that age,
that age bracket. So what are common New Year's resolutions?
There's SEMs to be a common theme when it comes
to making New Year's goals, whether it's sticking to a
better diet or working out more. Goal setters prioritize their

(13:10):
health and wellness over other areas. And now this one
right here again is definitely talking about me because I
purposed that my mind. See wherever we in January, it
had to be about maybe July ish July or August
of last year. I was like, yo, I need to

(13:32):
lose some weight, I need to do better about my diet.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
And so again I knew this. I realized this.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
You know, thank God, it wasn't because of any any
health scarce or health crisis. It is because the mirrors
I have in my house than me looking at myself
and tired to seeing that that bloating, that putt sticking out.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
I'm like, this is no good.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
And again, because I do know I am getting older,
I'm like, no, I've got to do better by my house.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
So thank God changed.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Up the diet.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Stick to it. I would say ninety eight percent of
the time. I'm still got to find out a better
healthier alternative to this sweet tooth of mine. But a
lot of other stuff. I mean, I just flat out
cut out. And to be honest, it really isn't as
hard as I thought it was. Of course, every now

(14:27):
and then I get a certain craving for something that
used to be a part of my regular diet, but
you know, I waive the costs. I'm like, okay, now,
if you do it this one time, James, you're gonna uh,
You're gonna reason and excuse doing it again then again
then again just no, okay, I know me, So it's

(14:50):
just better not to do it at all. And again,
I'm already seeing the results as far as losing Oh,
I'm sorry, not losing.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
I'm trying to change that. I'm not saying that.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
I'm losing weight because usually when we lose something, okay,
it's not something we intended to lose, which is why
we use that term no dropping, getting rid of. So
I've seen the results of me getting rid of this
weight and hey, just gonna you know, keep on keeping on.

(15:23):
I would definitely can be honest again full disclosure and
say I'm not to the point yet to where i
can reward myself with a cheat meal.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Nah nah, still still not there yet. Will be, will be?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
I'm I'm looking at if it keeps going the way
it's going, maybe marchish and it will actually be better
as soon as springtime hits because I'll be able to
get outside and do a lot more, a lot more walking.
But yeah, that that, that's that's what I'm looking that.
They're okay again that that's a simple goal I'm looking

(16:05):
forward to as the cheatmail that that is not my
New Year's resolution.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
All right, let's continue.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
So it's interesting it seems the highest one here seventy
nine percent of New Year's goals involving proving health. Makes
perfect sense. This can range from increasing fitness levels forty
eight percent, like exactly, like just like what I said
I'm gonna do when it gets warmer, boosting mental health
thirty six percent. It's always good and improved diet thirty

(16:35):
two percent. So yeah, exactly. It starts with the diet, y'all.
It even I mean a good diet including exercising more
is nah. I am no fitness experts, so you know, shooting,

(16:55):
as with everything I say, I always tell y'all, ay,
let every man be a liar, you know, full disclaimer.
But from what I've seen from people who are big,
big on fitness, I mean, yeah, that that's optimal. But
even for whatever reason you can't get out there and
do more physical activity, then it can always start with

(17:17):
the diet, Okay, simply cutting certain things out, decreasing portion size,
fantastic way to get started, fantastic way, and eating as
much fresh vegetables and much fresh fruit, staying away from

(17:37):
anything that has a lot of preservatives and processed stuff,
and especially anything with like high fruit. Those corns serve
pretty much that all the best tasting stuff usually yell
that stuff you want to you want to get out
of your your freezers and out of your cabinets. But
I would also say if for whatever reason, you're already

(18:02):
on a specific type of diet because of maybe medication
you take, or you know, because of some health condition
you have, before you do anything drastic, anything at all,
or if you want a good diet and fitness plan,
make sure you consult your your physician first. I again, disclaimer,

(18:22):
I am not a physician, So okay, don't do not
take What I'm saying is, oh, yeah, that's the best
way to go. You have a doctor, consult them first.
If you don't have one, find a good doctor and
then consult them. So it seem yeah, the top one
here is improving health. And also now one thing I

(18:43):
would add on top of that, if you know, okay,
speaking of doctors, say you did go to a doctor's
visit and your doctor told you, ay, you you know,
you really need to lose some weight. We need to
look at putting you on a specific diet to help
with this.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Y'all our health, and I mean all of it, physical, mental,
and spiritual is all tied in together, and especially the
physical part because you got dog that you ain't uh,
if you ain't alive all around and shoot, well, the

(19:21):
spirit and the soul they're gonna go to wherever they're
gonna end up going to. So yeah, physical physical excuse
me part definitely first. And if your doctor does advise
you with this, what are you gonna do? Okay, say
say this. This doctor's appointment takes place in May or April,

(19:42):
you're gonna tell them, okay, doc.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Well you know I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
I'm gonna give it seven eight more months, and that's
gonna be my My new year's resolution for next year
is to start just die and lose weight. Seriously, if
there are any type of doctor that's worth a flip,
they're gonna look at you and be like, oh k, yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
That's not advisable.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Because joker, If anything, you you really are leaning on
some true faith there, because if you don't get rid
of this dog on way, ain't non guarantee you gonna
be alive to the new year, you know what I'm saying.
So yes, when they come to physical health, do not
bet on that being a new year's resolution. You need

(20:34):
to get started on that, like as soon as possible.
Only six percent of adults will make resolutions to travel
more Other less common resolutions include incorporating regular meditation, Well
do that anyway, drinking less alcohol already got that one covered,
and better work performance. Okay, yep, it's always to I mean,

(21:01):
whether you're working on a job, working around the house,
working in ministry, whatever you're working you're putting your hands to. Yeah,
you should always strive to be the best at it
that you can be. Those ages eighteen to twenty four
are more likely to have fitness related resolutions. Of this group,

(21:24):
fifty three percent plan to plan to exercise more and
fifty one percent plan to eat health here. However, those
ages twenty five to forty four tend to focus more
on financial resolutions, with fifty eight percent listing budgeting as

(21:45):
their top goal for the year. Okay, so this is good,
some interesting statistics. Budgeting as a top goal. Yeah, that
goes up along with, you know, making sure you have
a good healthy diet. You want to make sure you
have a good financial diet too. Okay, you you don't

(22:07):
want to when it comes to your bank accounts. You
wanted to beat up in the complete opposite. Okay, you
you don't want that losing weight, all right, you don't
want that dropping dropping off the numbers. It's just obviously no,
you want that to increase. With that bad boy to
grow up. You wanted to get nice and swollen. So budgeting,

(22:29):
very good financial focusing on financial resolutions. Yeah, yes, yes, yes,
you know, have as many avenues and many streams of
income legally that you can have, and especially if it's
things that you know aren't strenuous or don't require a

(22:49):
lot of strenuous manual work to get accomplished.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
In other words, goes down to the old work.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Work smarter, not harder.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
They're more than half of New Year's.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Goal setters plan on improving personal relationships and learning a
new hobby. Fifty seven percent of people will make a
point to create stronger social connections, such as improving relationships
with family and friends. Okay again, another fantastic goal to have,

(23:25):
especially the true friends okay, and especially you know, the decent,
more reliable members of the family of course, Yeah, you
want to make sure to keep good, good relationships with
them whenever and however possible. And if you do have

(23:46):
an issue again with a true friend or with a
family member, again, y'all, don't wait for January first of
the following year. To get that thing worked out and resolved,
because you don't know if that person is going to
be around January of the next year. You don't know

(24:07):
if you're going to be around January of the next year.
So whenever and however possible, any disputes, anything that comes up, Yeah,
try to get that stuff taken care of as soon
as possible. Do not wait, because there's no guarantees. Additionally,

(24:28):
fifty five percent of people will embark on perfecting a
new hobby throughout the year. Okay, well, but I wouldn't
necessarily call it hobbies. But yeah, there's definitely different avenues
of content that I'm going to be branching out into
this year. So all right, I can feel that one. Ah,

(24:51):
here we go, now come through up. How many New
Year's resolutions come true? Making sure your goals for the
new year come true requires dedication. As we all know,
it's easy to set great sounding goals, but actually following
through makes it tough. Consider putting together a new Year's resolution. Okay, yeah,

(25:16):
consider putting together a new Year's resolution list together to
keep you on tasks.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
All right, I saw.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
That together and there twice I'm like, oh, let's see
how many resolutions come true. With these New Year's resolution
statistics below. Recent research has shown that just nine percent
of Americans actually keep their resolutions throughout the year.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Let me read that again.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Recent research has shown that just of Americans actually keep
their resolutions throughout the year.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Nine okay, and how.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Many did it say? Actually makes them? Three and ten
made a resolution? Sixty two percent of those making resolutions
feel pressure to do so, Seventy nine percent of New
Year's goals involving proven health, and only six percent of

(26:25):
adults will make resolution to travel.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
So see that that goes back to that.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
This whole sixty two percent of feeling pressure is just
like I said, if it's not something you really have
purposed in your heart and your mind, something you have
decided that you want to do, or again, something that's
advised by like a physician, or something specific to your health,
to your your lifestyle, your home, your whatever, something that's

(26:54):
actually important.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
If anything outside of that.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yeah, you're you're not wanting to stick with it because
you never really had it in you to want to
do it anyway. So that is amazing out of these
high numbers here less scoot the boot on the bag
down here.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Okay, I missed it here.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Recent research has shown that just nine percent of Americans
actually keep their resolutions throughout the year, and that that
does not surprise me whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yeah, because I.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Used to be one of those other percent that didn't
do it a dedicated bunch. Aside from keeping a gold
journal planner, another good way to maintain New Year's resolutions
is to set up another accountability method. A planner or
your journal is a common method of accountability for thirty
five percent of those making New Year's resolutions.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Enough.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Other common ways people stay on top of resolutions include
habit tracking thirty percent and budgeting apps thirty four percent.
Eighty five percent of people with resolutions believe the impact
will extend beyond a single year. Up to twenty five
percent believe their resolution will have an impact lasting one

(28:31):
to two years, and over half see it extending into
five years fifty seven percent. So wow, so yeah, out
of that nine Okay, whenever, however, you break down that
math of getting eighty five percent out of nine. But yeah,

(28:51):
I'm no mathematician there.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Believe that.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Okay, yeah, it's not just gonna be for this year.
That this is something I'm looking at to be a
complete lifestyle well not a complete lifestyle change, at least
for the next couple of years. I'm hoping when it
comes to that budgeting and that financial part and the
improving relationships now that that's something we definitely want to
have lasting more than two years and definitely more than

(29:20):
five years. But again, that's just me personally the way
I look at them. Man, maybe there's some other people
who are making and keeping these resolutions is a short
term thing.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Yeah, as the saying O.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Say easter on, I guess all right, why do New
Year's resolutions fail? There are many reasons why resolution for
the New year can fail. As we've covered throughout this post,
Motivation is key, Hey boy, you ain't lying. Getting distracted
by other areas of life can have a negative impact

(29:56):
on these goals, right. The good news here is that
there's no shame in picking back up if you select
on a goal for a bit. These New Year's resolution
statistics will give you an idea. Ninety two percent of
adults will not follow through on a resolution.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Wow wow wow wow wow.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Yeah, that makes sense because we just all minute back
where it's there. Only ninety percent of people actually keep
them throughout the years. So yeah, that that number is
about right. It's not uncommon for people to lose the
excitement they had in early January. This is a major
reason for people to lose sight of their initial resolution. Okay,

(30:49):
so wait, when you have the lack of excitement, add
on to the pressure that they said, sixty two percent
of people feel it is a Again, it's not surprising,
not surprising at all why adults will not follow through.
Watch out for Fridays. Strangely, Friday is a popular day

(31:12):
for gold setters to drop their resolutions. More specifically, people
are likely to quit on the second Friday of the month.
Doubn't get quittersday? Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Okay, this is.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
My first time ever hearing that term. Wait a minute,
the second Friday? Are they talking about the month of January?

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (31:45):
I mean I knew again.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
I knew people drop these resolutions and didn't follow through
with them.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
But god, dog god, I didn't think it was in
the same month.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Don't giving people the benefit of I would at least
thought they would have made it to excuse me, at
the mostimate, maybe the endu of February March m okay, quittersday.
So that means quitters day for this year. Let's see

(32:21):
what's today, second, tomorrow, third? All right, so I guess
January tenth is gonna be quitters day. Interesting. Twenty three
percent of adults quit their New Year's goals by the
end of the first week of January. It's easier said

(32:43):
than done. What's more, that number doubles by the end
of January, with forty three percent of adults quitting their resolution.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
God dog, oh my goodness, man.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Like I said, I was at least trying to give
them the I was at least trying to give them
to February. God dog, one man, the jokes don't don't
make it out there, don't make it.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Out of January?

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Interesting?

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Interesting? All right? Do they have hair?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Final thoughts? At this point we can all agree on
one thing as hard as sticking to New Year's whether okay?

Speaker 2 (33:31):
All right?

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Well again, like I said, the.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
When it comes to your health and actually an actual
important situations, no matter when you become aware of those things, y'all,
it is best to jump on them as soon as possible. Okay,
It is at bossiball to get on them as soon
as possible and not be waiting for January and then again,

(34:03):
I guess even with that high number of people quitting
by the end of January, hey, it said, there's no
shame in picking them back up at some other point
of the year. Here's my thing, outside of again medical
or actual important changes that you have to make in

(34:25):
your life. Just if it's not something you want to do,
all right, forget the person, just don't do it. Just
don't do it. It is literally just that simple, all right.
So now we are going to flip over here.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Okay, where are the.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Scriptures and we are gonna go into some scriptures about
what it says about doing this. So people vow and

(35:16):
they swear they're gonna keep these resolutions. They're gonna improve finances,
they're gonna improve relationships, they're gonna lose weight, They're gonna
do this, They're gonna do that. Yeah, I problems. And
even if they make the exact same resolution every year,
and if you're making the same thing every year, more
than likely if you're not sticking to it, Yeah, this

(35:38):
time' is gonna be different, and not just with New
Year's resolutions, with any bad habit or things that people
are trying to get out their life will change. Yeah,
you know I swear this time is gonna be different.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I'm gonna do better. Okay. So now let's see what.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
The word say is about making vowels and promises and
swearing that you're gonna do something will stick to it.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
So we are going to start in the Book of Matthew,
chapter five, verse number thirty three. Matthew, chapter five, starting
reverse number thirty three, and we will put a quick

(36:23):
pause on it for those of you all who may
be following along or might want to follow a law
and to get there, man, I'll grab a quick sip
of waterwh Okay, Matthew chapter five, starting reverse number thirty

(37:01):
and it reads the title of this section is teaching
about vowels. You have also heard that our ancestors were
told you must not break your vowels. You must carry
out the vowels you make to the Lord. But I say,

(37:22):
do not make any vowels. Do not say by Heaven,
because Heaven is God's throne. And do not say by
the earth, because the earth is his footstool. And do
not say by Jerusalem, for Jerusalem is the city of

(37:43):
the Great King. Now right here this is Jesus talking
addressing a crowd, and he was told that any vowel
that these people make to the Lord. And in the
context of what we're talking about, let's just say any
New Year's resolutions.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Okay, you promised the Lord, you made them to the Lord.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Well, well guess what you have to carry them out.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
But Jesus, in.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
His infinite wisdom comes right around in verse number thirty
four says, just don't make any vowels, y'all. Don't say
by heaven because of Heaven is God. But in other words,
don't don't promise to do something by the power of
something else or somebody else, because you don't own those
other things. You don't own those other people. So how

(38:36):
can you make a promise and a vowel based on
them or based on those things that you don't own. Okay,
and this is what you're telling them. Okay, you can't
make a vow by heaven because of Heaven is God's thrown.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Heaven belongs to God.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
What if you renig on that vowel, you're gonna hand
over heaven to somebody. No, you're not, because you can't.
Heaven doesn't belong to you. Don't save by the earth.
The earth is his footstool. Exactly, you can't hand over

(39:14):
or give up the earth because the earth doesn't belong
to you, doesn't belong to any of us. And more
specifically and more locally than them, don't save by Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is the city of the Great King. Not only
is he talking about David, but Jerusalem is also the

(39:34):
city that Jesus is gonna rule from as king of
Kings when he comes back to set up his new
heavenly kingdom on earth. So okay, you can't make a
bow by Jerusalem either. And the reason why he's telling them,
don't make any vowels because just like with these New
Year's resolutions, okay, we're apt not to keep them, whether

(39:58):
we just fall off and lose the motivation for it,
or if something comes up and we're unable to keep
the vowel. Either way, we can't fulfill our end of
the deal, so to speak. We can't fulfill our end
of the vowel. We can't fulfill our resolution. So Jesus saying,

(40:21):
you know, it's just better that just just don't just
don't do it, just don't do it. So that way,
if something would happen or were to happen, you're clear
in the eyes of God because you haven't made a
vow to him or swore to him by something. So,
in other words, you're not lying to him and be

(40:45):
possibly be held accountable for breaking that vow telling that lie.
So Jesus saying, don't don't make these vowels, okay, same
thing with resolution. Don't don't swear a vowel or promised
to a new year's resolution, because again, especially if you're
one of those ones, as the article said, you were

(41:07):
pressured into doing this, or you're just doing it because
you see other people doing it, don't do it because
more than likely you're not going to keep that new
year's resolution. We just read and heard statistics for that
same type thing with the same situation, same scenario with

(41:28):
making these vowels and promises.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
Before God or to God.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
That this is just like I've seen excuse me, or
heard people say, yeah, man, you know I promised I
swear on the life of my mom.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
You know I've swell on the life of my kids.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
This they're okay, same exact thing, that these people do
not belong to you, and that for whatever, for any reason,
you break that promise. If for every reason that swearing
that declaration that you're making you can't come through. Well,

(42:09):
then you know what, by all rights, God can just
come and gather those people up. In other words, hey
cause them to transition.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Around on the body here because you put that on
their head. You spoke that up. They didn't.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
So again, just like verse thirty four, say, but I say,
and the eye is Jesus, don't make any voweves.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Don't make these resolutions.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
If it's something you really are motivated and something you've
purposed in your mind that you need to or want
to change about your life or your lifestyle, then just
do it.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Just do it, okay.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Verse number thirty six, do not even say by my head,
for you can't turn one hair white or black.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
Just say a.

Speaker 3 (43:08):
Simple yes I will or no I won't.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Anything beyond this is from the evil one. Verse number
thirty six, he's saying, yet we don't even belong to ourselves,
which we don't.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
If we don't belong.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
To other humans, then then that includes ourselves.

Speaker 2 (43:27):
I JK. Moore don't own me. I don't belong to me.
I belong to God.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
He created me, and I'm for whatever his will and
his disposal is to do so that Jesus saying, okay, yeah, don't,
don't even swear by by yourself. Don't even make a
vowel on or by yourself. You don't own yourself. A
lot of people enforced leadink they do, but we don't.

(43:54):
And verse number thirty seven just ties it right on up.
You want to lose some weight, just say yes, I
am going to lose this weight, and go about your
diet and your exercise plan, or you know what, man,
I already know I like eating junk food too much.

(44:15):
I know I need to, but man, I know I
ain't gonna stick to it, or no, I ain't gonna
even mess with it. Just say a simple yes I
will or no I won't. Because anything beyond this is
from the evil One. Like I said, if something comes
up and you're not able to keep that vowel by
you know technicality and by truth, you're lying. You made

(44:39):
a lie, or you made a vowel or swore on
something or someone that does not belong to you at
all in any way, shape or form. So you're still like,
that's why you say. Anything beyond that comes from the
evil One, Satan, the father of lies.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Don't just don't do it, y'all.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Okay, Now, let's flip over to the Book of James
chapter five, verse number twelve. Excuse me, Book of James,
chapter five, verse number twelve, and we will put a

(45:29):
quick polls.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Give y'all some time to get there. M mm hmm, okay, right.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Book of James, chapter five, first number twelve, and it reads,
but most of all my brothers and sisters never taken
oath by heaven or earth, or on anything else. Just
say a simple yes or no so that you will

(46:25):
not sin and be condemned.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
A perfect, perfect.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
Summation of the scripts that we just read from Matthew,
I mean, a beautiful summation. Don't swear, don't make a vowel,
don't make a resolution. Don't swear on anything or anybody

(46:54):
because it does not belong to you.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Yes or no. Yes I will do this thing.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
No I won't.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Yes, I will get started on this thing. No, I
ain't feeling it. It ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Just that, just that.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Simple black or white, hot or cold, yes or no.
When you start muddy in and mixing things up, see,
that's when you get that gray area.

Speaker 3 (47:31):
God and Jesus the.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Christ they don't operate in gray areas. You saw that
come out of Jesus' mouth yourself. You just heard it
from Matthew, and here you have one of his apostles
saying the exact same thing, simple yes or no.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
That is it.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
And that's where relating back to that article a lot
of times, that's where that that pressure and that lack
of motivation comes from, because people want to try to
operate and work out of that gray area.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
That maybe I will, maybe I won't.

Speaker 1 (48:08):
Well I can do a little like this and propsibly
not do that, see causing issues, no point for it.
Yes or no, or as the the old folks used
to say, either poop or get off the pot.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Yep, that's right, I said it.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
Okay, Because if you do purpose in your mind to
say yes and go about doing something, or if the
reason why you don't want to do it is because
you have some type of doubt, well, let's check out

(48:54):
Philippians chapter four, verse thirteen.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
M hmmm. Philippians chapter four, verse thirteen. Quick pauls quick Paul's.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
M m hmmm.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
Alright.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
So Philippians chapter four, verse number thirteen reads for I
can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. For
I can do everything thing through Christ who gives me strength.

(50:07):
So for those of us who are believers, very powerful,
very powerful versuscription because if yeah, even being believers, we
realize that we're spiritual beings that are just operating within
these physical bodies for right now.

Speaker 3 (50:26):
And because of that.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
And the things we go through both spiritually and physically, yeah,
I mean we get down to we get distracted to
you know, we lose my motivation to do certain things,
go through depression, oppression, the whole shebanga bang. But then

(50:51):
thank you for the Holy Spirit. Is it reminds us Okay,
whatever it is that God has purpose to my hands
to do for him, I can do it in the
name of Jesus, and let's make it happen. So for
those people who might not be believers or who weren't believers, well,

(51:12):
two pieces of advice I can offer them is one,
I pray and hope to God that you do become
a believer before you transition from off this side of eternity.
But the second thing is until then or if not,
then seek out counseling, seek out a trainer, seek out

(51:39):
constructive people, positive people that can help motivate you get
if you can get strength from them. Again, your doctor, physician,
cool coworker, family member, somebody, somebody who you know is

(52:03):
a true, true, positive, influential person.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Seek them out see if you can get help from them.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
But ultimately, again back to us believers, I can do
everything through Christ who gives me strength. And that's not
just again spiritual matter. That's everything, every and anything in life.
Because like I said, okay, we're still humans on this planet.

(52:37):
We still have to interact, or as the scripture said,
we sty have to be in this world. So yeah,
every now and then we just like how you you
plug your phone or your computer or you're tabling in
so that battery can get charged.

Speaker 3 (52:50):
That's same thing with us.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
We have to tap into that that source of energy
and power through the Holy Spirit to Christ and then
from him back to God the Father. Then it comes
on back down the line. So, yes, something that we

(53:15):
have purposed our mind to, something that we're motivated for.
All right, got it? All right, Father and the name
of Jesus, let let's do this. Let's do this. It
doesn't say some things, it says everything. Everything The whole

(53:36):
gamut again, going back to the article improving our health,
improving our financial situations, traveling, picking up new hobbies, improving
relationships with family and friends.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yeah, all that, all that.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
We have all had to go to Christ and through
Christ to get these things accomplished. And we're still doing it,
still doing it, and we'll continue to do it until
we get called home today eternal side of this living

(54:19):
experience that we're going through. So yeah, I can do everything, everything,
everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
All right.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
So now we're gonna flip over here to the last slide.
I think one of the last ones with that. Okay, yeah,
that is the last one, all right, So.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
Let's take it on back to the Book of Proverbs,
chapter twelve, verse twenty two. Proverbs, chapter twelve, verse twenty two,
and quick polls. Anybody, if anybody out there can hear

(55:09):
my stomach right now, I do apologize he's talking junk
to me, like, hey, bro, with the food at But
I can do all things through Christ gives me strength,
including telling the stomach. Boy, be quiet, you know we
fast every time before we do a recording. You'll be

(55:31):
all right, like you ain't got plenty of good old
fats around you right now, the munch off of for
a little while you will be okay, m.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
All right, y'all.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Proverbs, chapter twelve, verse twenty two. So we looked at
how many people set out to make New Year's resolutions,
how many ultimately end up keeping them. Came over here
the scripture we were told about the importance of why
we shouldn't make vowels resolutions, told not to do it,

(56:16):
told just to. If you're wanna do something, just say yes,
I'm gonna do it. If you're not gonna do it,
just say no, because anything else. Okay, you're operating out
of a place of lying, operating from the evil one.
And well, speaking of lying, so this is what happens
when you're lying. Lying lips are abomination to the Lord,

(56:40):
but they that deal truly are his delight. Lying lips
are abomination to the Lord, but they that deal truly
are his delight. So this is exactly what James and
Jesus the Christ where talking to us about. Look, don't

(57:07):
don't make valve, don't make promises, don't swear by or
on somebody or something. Don't get pressured into saying yes
you're going to do this in the new year. This
is your new year resolution. Because again, if you're not

(57:28):
really purposed to do it, you're lying, You're gonna fail,
You're gonna lose motivation. And how does God feel about lying?
It's an abomination to him. And this is just one
of many scriptures in the Bible where it talks about
how God feels about liars. Okay, to sum it up,

(57:55):
he does not like lying, because again, it was him
himself or Gus actually that referred to Satan as being
the father of lies. Lies are what God mankind into
the state that we're in right now. Lies are the

(58:17):
exact opposite and an affront to God the Father and
Jesus the Christ, who clearly said that he was the Way,
the Truth, and the Life. So yes, of course, lying
is an abomination to God.

Speaker 3 (58:35):
He does not like it.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
Now that that doesn't mean if you slip up and
tell a lie, oh You're going to hell.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Come on, y'all.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
No, no, However, if you continue on in those lies
or that lie and make not one second of repentance
based prayer to God saying look, Lord, I lied, I
told that lie. I told those lies. I know I

(59:06):
shouldn't have done it, Please forgive me, and then go
about to telling the truth or setting the truth right
with whatever it is you learn about.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
Okay, yeah, you're likely.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
To have some issues with God.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
Then if you're the type of person who just flat
out lives all the time, and again, you don't believe
in God, you don't believe in Jesus, want nothing to.

Speaker 2 (59:26):
Do with them.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
You don't see a problem with lying because it makes
your life easier, or you don't see a problem with
lying because it brings joy and the happiness to people
around you.

Speaker 3 (59:41):
Just like that that.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
Day people celebrated a week ago, and not only the lie,
the lies associated with that. A lot of them know
the truth. A lot of them know the truth, but
because they don't want their kids to be said, or
they don't want to hurt people's feelings, they go along
with it. Okay, So in doing that, you're saying that

(01:00:08):
the well being and the emotional state of humans on
this planet are more important to you than honoring God,
than honoring Jesus, and not do something that is mentioned
in the Bible even more times than what it says

(01:00:29):
anything about homosexuality, and that's lying and how God feels
about it, so okay. So it's more important to you
to keep people happy than it is to do what
God commands you to do, or more importantly, what God

(01:00:50):
commands us not to do.

Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
Okay, alrighty.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Well, as with all things good people, that is squarely
between y'all and God.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Because I ain't got time for it, okay. And that's
why I say it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Even before I even accepted Jesus as my savior, I
knocked it off with the New Year's resolution stuff because,
like I said, I never kept them, And then another
time just kind of thought, I'm like, this is silly, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
So I was already.

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Breaking tradition before I started breaking tradition, thank you Lord.
So all right, y'all, new Year's resolutions, swearing, making vowels
and promises, just don't just don't do it, y'all. If

(01:01:58):
it's something again scripture said you can't do it, and
you're willing to do it, you're going to do it, Yep,
I'll be there. Can't do it, nope. Now again, it's
different if you truly do have every intention to go
through ahead and go ahead, excuse me, go through with
something or go ahead with something, and then something comes up.

(01:02:22):
That stops you from doing that. Okay, that's completely different.
But still that's why he said, just don't swear by
heaven or swear by a person that I'll be there again. Okay, yes,
I'm going to do it. Something comes up. Hey, there
are things all the time that happened to us that's

(01:02:44):
outside of our control. Have I mean, it's literally outside
of our control. Nothing we can do about it. But
your actual intention and motivation was true.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Okay, you're good to go. You're good to go.

Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
But again, if you know full and got dog on
well that you ain't gonna do something and you say yeah, okay,
then you're operating out of a place of deceit and lying.

Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
And well we just saw how God feels about liar.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
So that is that. But what I will tell y'all
is missing it a few minutes ago. Okay, don't make
this a resolution, even though I'm sure there probably are
and were some people did. Oh yes, I'm gonna become
a Christian in twenty twenty five. I'm gonna accept God

(01:03:34):
or I'm gonna renew my relationship with Jesus. Okay, do
not set out to become a Christian because God nor
Jesus never required nor asked any of us to become Christians.
But if in your heart you really are truthful about

(01:03:59):
one to live a godly.

Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Life, you don't have to become a Christian for that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Anyway, They first people that Jesus talked to and that
he sent the apostles out to talk to. Okay, these
people the word Christian and Christianity weren't even around yet,
and they talked about how people are constantly getting saved
getting saved, and.

Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
Say, oh, okay, that right there.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Amongst many other things ought to prove. Why, No, it's
not about becoming a Christian and leaving a Christian life.
It's about leading a godly life. And the way to
do that is by getting God's Holy Spirit to dwell
within you. We all have gifts that God put in

(01:04:47):
them in each and every one of us.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
We all have purpose that He created us for.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Some of us tend to get those activated by having
the Holy Spirit placed enough. A people don't, but they're
still there. And how do we get the Holy Spirit
put in us? To confess? Confess? Yes, I'm a sinner,
i am a liar, I'm somebody who purposely breaks every

(01:05:15):
new year's resolution I ever made. I've done this, I've
done that. But God, I don't want to do it anymore.
I can't do it anymore. I can't take the physical,
the mental, emotional strength, whatever it is. Please save me,
Please save me. It's as simple as Jesus, I believe

(01:05:38):
you are the Savior, and I believe your shed blood
can wash me clean. Wash me clean, now, y'all. You
do not have to be standing in a church building
to do this. You don't have to be dressed a
certain way. You don't have to go on a particular Sunday.
You don't have to get this, that and the other

(01:05:59):
taken care of, or clean up first, or make resolutions
to stop doing something before you decide to give your
life a Christ. You don't have to do any of that. Okay,
Let God do the heavy lifting. You have the easy part,

(01:06:20):
and the easy part is simply believing, confessing the reasons
why you know you need him, and asking Him to wash.

Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
You clean with his blood. That is it. All the
other stuff, okay, Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
God will put an order in time, and once you confess,
once you actually be cleaned by the blood again, tell God, Okay, Lord,
I'm ready to send your holy spirit to enduel within me,
start me on my journey for what it is you
want me to do. God, put kingdom minded people, your

(01:06:56):
kingdom minded people in my path. Send them to me. Lord,
send me to them, however, to help get me started.
People I can work with to get get the get
the ball rolling. Okay, I did not say to ask him. Okay, Well, God,
what churse do you want me to become a member of?

(01:07:17):
What denomination of Christianity? See confusion, confusion, and again not
stuff sanctioned nor commanded by God the Father or Jesus
the Christ.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
That was all humanity. Baby, wherever you are, whatever you're doing,
when when.

Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
You realize this, when you feel it in your body,
I don't care if you're sitting in your sitting in
your car, sitting at the park, sitting on the toilet,
you simply just confess right then in there, Jesus watshed
me clean, save me. I don't want to end up
any eternal damnation. I'm being serious right now, y'all. It

(01:08:01):
is literally just like that. If the thief who was
being crucified with Jesus can simply say we belong here
for what we've done, he hasn't done anything wrong. He
doesn't belong here. Lord, remember me when you go back

(01:08:21):
to your kingdom. That two or three sentences, and Jesus
replied to them, today you will be with me in paradise.

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Okay, y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
The man was being crucified, and he admitted that he
belonged up there to have been crucified. Back in that day,
that was reserved for the most horrendous criminals, which is
why the act of crucifixion was such a horrendous way
to die. It was literally a slow death. You hung

(01:08:56):
there until you die. In a law with hang there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Till you died.

Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
There was also the humiliation factor.

Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
You're up there strip naked for everybody, anybody passed, somebody
to be able to see you slowly dying.

Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
It was rough.

Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
And again if Jesus told that man who had committed
crime or crime so bad that he was being crucified,
that today you'll be with me in paradise, y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
Okay, the man got.

Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
Saved hanging on a tree, y'all dying. So where does
this stuff come from? Oh, you have to go to
a church to get saved, and you have to have
a preset lead man, y'all say it all the time.
Do not get your biblical education from Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
That do not.

Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
Okay, it's no good. It's just that Hollywood. It's entertainment.

Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
It's lies.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
It's fabrications made up to entertain you and tell a story.
It does not take any of that. It starts right
here or wherever the heart as it relates to our
emotions and our spirit, that's where it starts at. Okay,

(01:10:21):
So again, if you feel that, whether you feel that,
if you're hearing or watching this, if you feel that
again July of this year, don't say, oh, well, that's
going to be my new year's resolution for twenty twenty six.
I'm gonna get saved, because it very well could happen

(01:10:43):
that December thirty first, twenty twenty five, at eleven fifty
nine okay, eleven fifty nine and fifty eight seconds, you
could drop dead or you could get killed, and then

(01:11:05):
guess what, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
Game over.

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
And when you stand before God, he's not gonna want
to hear. Oh well, lord, I was doing too.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
That was gonna be my new year's.

Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
Resid Oh it's sounds like you sound like you made
a bowel there uh huh. Well, if you had, you know,
done this when you felt it in your heart and
when the Holy Spirit was actually trying to pull you
to do it, and you knew you were supposed to
do it, then you you might have learned how to
feel or what I say about making vowels. Goals are

(01:11:42):
always good to have. Heck, I got goals. Lots of
people have goals because the stuff we know we want
to do or need to do. And then you take
those bigger goals and you, you know, break them down
in the bite sized chunks if necessary, the lead up
to accomplishing the whole big goal. But I'm not gonna say,

(01:12:08):
oh man, yeah, I swear this is gonna be done
by April and your yep.

Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
I promise, y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
I swear on this, I promise by that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
No, hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
I have goals I need to accomplish. Okay, yep, I
know what I need to do. Let me get to
work on them right now, Father, God, my hands, got
my feet, God, whatever in the name of Jesus for
me to get this done. That's we can read scripts Philippians.
I could do all things through Christ, but I'm not

(01:12:38):
gonna swear by Christ, I'm not gonna swear, by God,
no I can say it's my goal to have such
and such done by this time, whatever month it is.
But I'm not gonna say and say, oh, yeah, man,

(01:12:58):
you know, I swear it's gonna be done by the old.

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Nah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
We ain't gonna do that. We ain't gonna live that
type of life, all right in the two five?

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:13:09):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
So, man, you know what I have not done?

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
What's going on in the news for a while?

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Mmmmmm.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Honestly, y'all, I kind of checked out of following the
news a few months back, especially as it was getting
closer and ramping up time for the uh the election.

Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
I just honestly got tired of it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
So uh yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a goal of mine
to look forward to getting back to that. But I'm
not going to swear to it, and I'm not going
to make a vow that I'm going to come.

Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
Back to it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
Okay, yeah, yeah, see your man's ain't no. Slowly I learned,
all right. But guys, uh, seriously, as you all know,
I don't do don't wish people happy or marry any holidays,
but happy New Year's a whole most definitely, definitely, definitely

(01:16:06):
definitely do praying and wishing everybody out.

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
There a happy New Year's guys.

Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
A just make this, make this, seek to make this
year better than than last year and the year before.
Prayer everybody's safety and health and well being. And speaking
of which, guys, hey, treat yourself good, but seek to
treat other people better, okay, seek the treat people the
way you want to be treated. Look past all the

(01:16:34):
outer cosmetic stuff, okay, Look past skin color, look past sex,
look past sexual orientation. All that stuff insignificant, Okay, insignificant,
because when it gets.

Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
Right down to it, we are all spiritual beings.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
We all need the exact same things to survive. We
are all one race, the human race. So you know
you'd like to be treated well, seek to treat others
well as well. Okay, And God willing, he will bless
us to come back here and we will do it
all again. So until then, you all make twenty twenty

(01:17:15):
five the best year you've ever had, and we will
see you. When we see you, peace,
