Speaker 1 (00:00):
With Brett Behar at the American Century Championship. This is
Dave Leonardie, Skewing News publisher and always upright podcaster. Brett,
how'd you do this? You started out great in the
first day. Yeah, how'd you finish?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
It was bad? It was really bad. I ran into
a bus. Saw Yesterday I had three doubles. Today I
had four doubles. That's just not my game. So I
had to get back to the drawing board. Put three
consecutive days like the first day together, and I would
be ranked there under Steph Curry.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well that's golf.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, golf is you know, it's an amazing game. It's humbling,
it is addicting. It is a wonderful sport. But it
can sometimes be really frustrating.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
That's why I don't play. I see.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Now you're the host of Special Report with Brett Behar,
which is very convenient because your name is Brett Bahar.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
That's exactly right. Thank god the Graphic matches.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Couldn't do Special Report with Greg go.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, no, you could do it.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
That wouldn't work. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Coming up on fifteen years anchoring the show, I took
over for brit Hume January two, thousand and nine, and
it's been quite a ride covering politics, world news, and
we're getting ready for a big election season. So in
about a month I'll be moderating the debate in debate
(01:18):
in Milwaukee.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Anything Happening August twenty third.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
That's the debate at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, first Republican primary debate.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Now let's switch back to golf because I failed to
ask about your college days. You were a great college golfer.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I played at DePaul in Indiana, and I was on
the team all four years we went to nationals. It
was a really good place to play.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
And one other thing for your bio, your four time well,
you have four New York Times bestsellers. Three days in January,
Special Heart, a Journey of faith, hope and courage and love,
and on the Brink three days in Moscow, and also
or a Threat rather three days at the Brink and
then three days in Moscow. So you're pretty accomplished author.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah. And To Rescue the Republic was about Ulysses S. Grant.
That was my last book, and that was a New
York Times bestseller, went to number one.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
It's been there five time bestseller now six.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
So that's okay, but I've got a book coming out
in October called to Rescue the Constitution about George Washington
and the Constitutional Convention. So I'm really into history.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Excellent. One more quick question, what do you think about
Edgewood Tahoe, NBC the American Century Championship. A couple of
words on that.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, it's just fantastic. I mean really, it's the week
that I look forward to every year, and it's beautiful
out here and American Century and Jonathan Thomas, the CEO,
do a fantastic job hosting us.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Now, one thing that your viewers probably don't know. You're
an accomplished singer rapper. You led the crowd at Harrah's
last night, the Country Roads Take Me Home.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, it's just fun. I do that once a year,
only here, but it's a fun thing to get everybody involved.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Well, thank you very much, Brett bare great for seeing
you again here and great having you on our Always
Upright podcast.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
