The mission of Ayebea's Charming Beads and Jerknwaisted is to educate women about the cultural significance and traditions of waist beads as they are used in Ghanaian culture and to encourage them to adorn and embrace their natural curves. Waist beads have become a trend in western society, however, it's a tradition in many African Cultures and therefore we believe that it's imperative that women learn about these traditions as they embark on their waist beads journey and help clear up any misconceptions that may exist around waist beads. After all, knowing better will lead you to do better. Additionally, we encourage women to embrace their natural curves and accept themselves as they truly are, in the moment.
