Speaker 1 (00:00):
Rules paid for that faithful home in two thousand and three,
a high end house she bought.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
From another Brittany britt.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
The property came with its own lord, a former makeup artist,
were Spears, claiming it was haunted.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
I had my friends in reiki healing on her.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
He left.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
She swears to God that they're like if he opened
some spirit portal or company and the bad spirits to
come in and they were trying to like push her.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Down the stairs or something crazy. It was so bad
that she left and never went back to the house again.
She put her house on the market, and guess who
bought that house.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Hello, neighbors, lovers, friends, and anyone who's ever been spiritually
shoved down a staircase by an entity Britney Spears might
have accidentally summoned after a reiki session gone wrong. I'm Danielliscreama,
and this is Broad's next door. Grab your sage bundles
and your real estate disclosures, because today we're getting a

(00:58):
broader understanding of celebrity hounded houses, starting with the one
Britney Spears sold to Britney Murphy and the tragic legacy
that followed.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Hi.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Hello, how is everyone I hope your October is off
to a spooky but not traumatizing start. Did you watch
Monsters the ed Geen Thing on Netflix? I made it
through two episodes. I do have an ed Geen episode
coming out, but lots of serial killer episodes coming out

(01:38):
for this month actually, and doing research on all of
them has.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Made me in a state like fairly distraught.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
So for today I needed to do something lighter. And
this isn't exactly lighter because two of the heaviest episodes
I've ever done, the Life and Death of Britney Murphy
and Britney Spears The Woman in Me, super heavy episodes,
both of them because I love both of those women
so much. But there is one little tidbit of the

(02:08):
story that is somehow lighter for me, and that is
the haunting of their shared home. Do I think this
house was really haunted? I don't know, but I do
believe that places have energy, that they have vibes, that
some experience was shared between the two Britney's.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
So for today, I wanted to.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Take a lighter look and do a deeper dive on
the history of this home and what could have happened there.
If you want a deep dive on Britney Murphy or
Britney Spears. I will also link to my episodes on
them in the show notes. Nothing but respect for these two.
It's why I just want to put the warning out

(02:52):
that it is such a heavier topic in a way,
but the whole Celebrities ghost Stories part is like, for me,
thought it would be a good way to start our
week out, start our Monday, have five spooky episodes up
already for you. We have cursed films, Rosemary's Baby, we

(03:13):
have cropsy and abandoned mental institutions. We have an episode
with my mom about found footage, horror and haunted houses
that we lived in, one where a murder took place.
And then for our weekend rewind we had nineties movies
Witches and exorcism and demonic possession in pop culture. So

(03:38):
those are all up already if you want to check
them out. But for now, let's get into the Home
of Brittany and Brittany. This is a story of ghosts, glamour,
and as always, grief, all locked inside one Sunset Plaza
mansion that's seen more tragedy than a VMA's after party.

(04:00):
Oh here's the setup. Britney Spears buys a house from Madonna.
It's the early two thousands. She's on top of the world,
multiple chart topping singles, Pepsi, deals more paparazzi than anyone
has ever dealt with. And unfortunately, also justin Timberlake and
somewhere along the way, she buys this sprawling home in

(04:22):
the Hollywood Hills, a mansion perched up on Sunset Plaza Drive.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
We have beautiful views, a.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Pool floorida ceiling windows, and according to Britney, something else.
In twenty twenty one, Britney's former makeup artist Julianne Kay
went on the We Need to Talk About Britney podcasts
and dropped this tidbit. Brittany had that place up on
Sunset Plaza and I'm just gonna say this is really weird.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
She calls me. I had my friend do reiki healing
on her. He had come up.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I guess she'd had a crazy partying weekend and needed
to relax. Left and she swears to God that he
opens some spirit portal or something and these bad spirits
had come in and they were trying to like push
her down the stairs or something. Yeah, So rey Ka
session spiritual portal ghosts pushing America's pop princess down the stairs.

(05:20):
This could be fan fiction, but according to Julianne Kay,
Brittany was so freaked out she left the house in
the middle of the night and she never returned. She
wouldn't even sleep there. She immediately sold the place and
the person she sold it to, Brittany Murphy. If you've
already listened to the Life and Death of Brittany Murphy episode,

(05:42):
you know how this story ends and also how to
a lot of people it doesn't make sense. But before
it ends, Brittany buys the house from Brittany. In two
thousand and three, she moves in with her mother Sharon,
and then her husband Simon Manchak after they get married
years later. And over the next six years, something shifts.

(06:05):
Neighbors start noticing Brittany becoming more reclusive, erratic, pale. There
were rumors of illness, of paranoia, of eating disorders, and
of course, drugs. Those toxicology reports showed only legal prescriptions.
On December twentieth, two thousand and nine, Britney collapses in
her bathroom and is pronounced dead at Cedar Seineyes. The

(06:27):
cause officially pneumonia, iron deficiency, and multiple drug intoxication from
over the counter or stuff that was prescribed. I personally
believe that that is enough to kill a person. In
the Life and Death of Britney Murphy episode, I look

(06:47):
at her blood work and I myself am aneemeck. I
have something called thalacemia, so I get iron transfusions, and
her iron inferreton is lower than mine has ever been.
That combined with being sick for a very long time
and not going to the doctor, in my opinion, is

(07:08):
enough to kill a person, even if they're a healthy
thirty two year old. Extremely tragic. She was so so
talented that it is heartbreaking, and I think then it's
extremely hard for everyone to wrap their heads around. People
want a conspiracy, they want murder, they want more because

(07:31):
it somehow helps the tragedy.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Make make sense. That's not the end.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Just five months later, her husband, Simon Manjak, dies in
the exact same house, same room, same cause, pneumonia and anemia,
and suddenly, to people, this isn't just a tragic coincidence,
this is lore, this is myth. People start asking was
it mold, was it poison? Was it the energy of

(07:59):
it the house. This is a clip from not My
Stories on YouTube.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
Nestled in the Hollywood Hills of California, the home, once
shared by actress Britney Murphy and her husband Simon Monjack,
has become the center of eerie reports and strange occurrences
following their tragic deaths. Britney Murphy was a rising star
in Hollywood, known for her roles in films like Clueless
and eight Mile. In December two thousand and nine, her

(08:28):
sudden passing at the age of thirty two and shockwaves
through the entertainment world. Just five months later, her husband,
Simon Monjack, was found dead under similarly.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Mysterious circumstances in the same home.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
The unexplained deaths, surrounded by conspiracy theories and media speculation,
only added to the house's eerie reputation. Soon after their passing,
visitors and residents of the area began reporting unusual happenings
within the property. One of the most frequently mentioned occurrences
is a sudden and unexplained drop in temperature. Even on
the warmest of days, walking past the house have claimed

(09:01):
to feel a chilling breeze where there should be none.
Neighbors and former Guests have also reported hearing strange noises
coming from the home, creaking floors, whispers, and even the
sound of footsteps when no one was supposed to be there.
The haunting feeling was so strong that some said it
felt as though the house itself was mourning the loss
of its former residence. As for the house's interior, there
have been claims of furniture moving on its own and

(09:23):
lights flickering without reason. Some even say that the air
inside feels heavy, as if something unseen is watching. While
these stories remain unconfirmed, they have added to the growing
legend of Britney Murphy's Hollywood Hills home. Though there is
no conclusive evidence that the house is haunted, the unsettling
reports continue to draw curiosity. Some wonder if it's the
tragic events that took place there or something even more

(09:46):
mysterious that has made this home a place of such
dark fascination.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
As the years passed, the.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Strange incidents surrounding Britney Murphy's Hollywood Hills home continued drawing
the attention of paranormal investigators and curious onlookers. Yet, despite
numerous attempts to uncover the truth behind the chilling occurrences,
The house remained shrouded in mystery, its secrets tightly guarded
by the walls that had once witnessed so much tragedy.
When Michael and Dana Wheeler moved into the cold cream

(10:14):
colored Mediterranean style mansion in the Hollywood Hills, they were
well aware of its tragic past. The house once belonged
to actress Britney Murphy, whose sudden and mysterious death in
two thousand and nine made headlines across the world. Five
months later, her husband, Simon Monjack died in the same
home under eerily similar circumstances. But to the Wheelers it

(10:34):
was a bargain, at least by Los Angeles standards. The
property had lingered on the market for years, eventually selling
at a steep discount. Michael, a television editor, and Dana,
a part time art curator, saw it not as a
cursed relic, but as a fixer upper with Hollywood charm.
They moved in mid July twenty twenty three with their
labrador retriever Milo. The house had been empty for over

(10:56):
a decade, save for the occasional real estate showing and
maintenance crew cruse. It felt like a time capsule stuck
somewhere between early two thousands, opulence and quiet neglect. The
curved staircase still creaked, and the kitchen tiles bore faint
stains that no one had managed to scrub clean. It
just needs love, Dana kept telling herself. Things started subtly,
a few lights flickering here and there, the thermostat randomly

(11:19):
dropping to sixty degrees fahrenheit.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
In the middle of summer.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Dana would wake up at three thirty am nearly every night,
always with the same sense that someone was standing at
the foot of the bed.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
One night, she got up and went to the hallway bathroom.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
As she passed the mirror, she saw reflection, not her own,
just a flicker, a shadow of someone behind her.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
She turned fast. No one was there.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
Michael, ever, the skeptic, blamed it on stress and lingering
Traumadana had suffered a miscarage two years earlier and had
recently gone off anxiety.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Now even he began to notice things.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Milo refused to enter the bathroom where Manjak had reportedly collapsed.
He would bark at the door and then back away,
tail between his legs. The HVAC technician who came to
fix the air conditioning, refused to return for a follow up.
Something's off about that crawl space, he said, I don't
know how else.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
To put it. Felt wrong.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
The house had a small room behind the master closet
that had been turned into a makeshift recording booth, probably
for Monjack, who fancied himself a screenwriter and producer. Dana
found the door on accident, is stuck when she tried
to open it. Inside was dust stacked boxes and a
digital recorder. She turned it on out of curiosity. The
audio was garbled at first, then clear, a woman's voice

(12:32):
whispering over and over they won't let me sleep. Then nothing,
just heavy breathing. Dana brought the recorder to Michael. He
wiped it and tried to play it again. Nothing was
on it, not a second of sound. That night, Dana
had her first full blown episode. She woke up gasping,
clunching her chest, convinced she was drowning. She's in the vents,

(12:53):
she sobbed. She keeps whispering through the vents. Michael checked everyone, nothing,
but the next night the whispering star it again. This
time he heard it too. Dana became obsessed with Brittany Murphy.
In the following weeks, she read everything, autopsy reports, conspiracy theories,
even interviews with Britney's estranged father, who claimed.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
The actress I don't.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Yes for the record, claiming Brittany liked it better there.
Michael caught her whispering to someone during the night. When
he confronted her, she said she was trying to help
her cross over. He found Dana standing barefoot on the balcony.
Brittany allegedly stumbled out onto in her final days, the air.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Was cold, and she smiled without.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Blinking and whispered, she wants me to stay. They left
the house the next morning, Dana moved in with her
sister in Silver Lake. Michael stayed behind for one more week,
just long enough to oversee the movers and finalize the
paperwork to list the house again. But on his last night,
he heard music, soft melodic humming from the master bathroom.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
The tub was full, the water was ice cold.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Okay, okay, that's enough, that's enough. Not my story all.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Link to the full twenty minute to VIDI go on YouTube.
Was it Dare they say that portal Britney's spears mentioned
You can almost see the Zillow listing five beds, four baths,
open concepts layout contains multitudes.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
And possibly ghosts.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Story we just heard is repeated a lot online, but
I couldn't find any official documents or people on record
saying these things. Do I believe that story? I honestly
don't know. But let's backtrack a little before Dana is
finding tapes in.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
A room that no one knew was there.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
This is from an article in People magazine. Was the
Home Haunted? Both Britney Spears and Britney Murphy reported that
they thought there was something strange about the home, located
on Rising Glen Road atop the Sunset Strip when they
each lived there. Spears, who was dating just Timberlake when
she lived in the house, apparently claimed to have been

(15:03):
an otherworldly encounter that led her to leave the property
and never come back. It was so bad that she
left she went to the Casa del Mar hotel to
stay there and never went back to the house. She said,
I know you're gonna think I'm crazy. I'm not crazy.
I know what I saw, I know what I felt.
While Murphy never claimed to see spirits, she did seem

(15:23):
to have a sense that something was off about the home.
In a January twenty eleven interview with The Hollywood Reporter,
shortly after Mury's death, Manchak shared that his late wife
tried to avoid the home at all costs. She absolutely
hated the rising gun house, Simon told the Hollywood Reporter.
Every time we would drive up sunset, Britt would say, please,

(15:45):
can we stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I'd say, honey,
you have to be realistic. We have our house, a
ten thousand square foot home. We're going to say in it.
Simon told reporters that Murphy thought the property was unlucky,
so and to move him, his wife, and her mother
to New York, where they intended to start a family
in the next year. Simon also shared that the bathroom

(16:08):
where Murphy ultimately died was her comfort zone in the home,
and she spent hours in there reading magazines, singing to herself,
writing poetry, sampling her beauty products, and looking at herself
in the mirror. Then, on May twenty third, Sharon found
her son in law unrespons him in the home. Simon,
then forty, was pronounced dead after the lapd was called

(16:30):
to the residence for a medical emergency, people reported at
the time like the actress.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
A courtner later.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Determined acute pneumonia and severe anemia as the causes of
the screenwriter's death. What happened to Brittany Murphy's home after
her death? Though the infamous location became known as the
site of the couple's mysterious deaths. The home has changed
hands multiple times, according to property records. Sharon sold the
estate at a massive loss for two point seven million

(16:56):
in two thousand and eleven after struggling to find a box.
In twenty thirteen, it was under It was torn down
and underwent a multi year rebuild, with developers aiming to
create a brawling, contemporary structure. When it was sold again
in two twenty seventeen for fourteen point five to three million,
the property bore no resemblance to its former car Nation,

(17:19):
According to Zillo. The new home was last sold in
December twenty eight, twenty for eleven point five to nine million.
It measures nine four hundred square feet and has five
bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms, and Zillo's listing
described it as a city view master beads perched atop
the sunset strip with an open floorplan, high ceilings, and

(17:41):
rooms that open completely to outdoor lounge spaces, nearly all
with unobstructed city views. The main suite is two thousand
square feet and boasts two walking closets, two bathrooms, and
a private patio. Other key features in the home include
a home theater, massage room, wine cellar, infinity pool, spa,

(18:02):
and an elevator. Since twenty twenty, the home has been
up for sale like half a dozen more times, most
recently over this past summer. But could the portal have
really just been toxic mold? This is from a Reddit
thread on ask Los Angeles who lived in infamous eighteen

(18:22):
ninety three Rising Glen Road house in the Hollywood Hills
before Britney Spears and Britney Murphy did. The answer is Madonna.
But this is the answer I'm focusing on for Runaway
Cat as someone who has been poisoned by a house
full of toxic mold hidden in the walls and ceilings
and floors and legitimately thought I was going to die
before I figured out what was poisoning me. That house

(18:44):
was full of mold. Toxic mold can cause terrifying psychological symptoms, depression, anxiety, paranoia, insomnia, hallucinations, rage.
It can also make you lose tons or gain tons
of weight. It can make you seem like you're on drugs.
It causes so many physical symptoms, and doctors don't know
yet understand mold toxicity, so they just prescribed you a

(19:08):
bunch of pharmaceutical drugs to mask all the symptoms mold creates.
And both Brittany and her husband were on so many prescriptions.
It obviously causes cold, flu, respiratory symptoms, and ammonia. It
doesn't have to be growing in you to poison you.
And I have zero doubt that the house killed Brittany
and her husband and also likely contributed to Spears's mental breakdown.

(19:29):
I recently watched one of the docu spears on docuseries
on Brittany Murphy and Simon Monchak, and every single thing
pointed to mold. They also raised the house to the
ground after they died, and the new owners built a
new house entirely. Now, what's interesting to me with the
mold theory is that Sharon Britney's mother, who was older,

(19:50):
never got sick. Another answer in the house about the house.
The house was built by Madonna as stated in a
dock about Britney mur It was built in May nineteen
ninety seven. It was sold and ended up with Britney
Spears in the year two thousand and one. I'm also
fascinated with the house, find it stunning.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Eerie and scary.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Perhaps our souls energetically know that tragedies had something to
do with the house.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Or perhaps we are just.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Interested in unknown and fixate on something until we know
the whole story. Either or it was a gorgeous place
and I wish it wasn't knocked down. Maybe it was
knocked down because there was a lot to hide. Two
point seven million for a Hollywood hills On house on
top of Sunset being a mansion for that price in
twenty eleven was an absolute steal and basically the price

(20:38):
for a piece of land. I guess the podcast about
Britney Leaving Duja House being haunted with bad spirit makes
a lot of sense when you see who owned it
Madonna as feel as Murder Mansion, which Murder House from
the first season of American Horror Story is supposed to
be based on. This is from Atlas Obscura on the
night of December sixth, in a mansion that sits on

(21:01):
a Los Felise hilltop in Los Angeles. Doctor Harold Perrelson
struck his wife to death with a hammer, severely beat
his eighteen year old daughter, and then ended his own
life using a concoction of water, acid, and tranquilizer pills.
For the next fifty years, the Los Felis Murder Mansion
would remain completely untouched and uninhabited by everyone. A year

(21:24):
after the gruesome murder suicide, the mansion was sold to
a couple, Emily and Julian Enriquez, who only used the
five thousand and fifty square foot house as a storage unit.
Neighbors recalled seeing the couple bringing boxes to the mansion
but never staying overnight. In nineteen ninety four, Rudy and
Riquez inherited the house, and like his parents, neither stayed

(21:45):
nor made any changes to the Perilson's old decor. Local
neighbors and brave visitors of the Perilson Mansion have shared
their tails. Through grimy windows, one can see a nineteen
fifty styled television set, a Christmas tree and supposed neatly
wrapped gifts. The furniture is covered in a thick layer
of dust, and the living room remains the exact same

(22:07):
as it was on that December night. Rudier Henriquez, now
retired music manager, has refused to sell the property, though
he is admitted to frequenting the site to feed his
two cats who live there. Who the fuck leaves their
cats in the Murder mansion. The exterior of the mansion
is in slow decay, and the local neighbors have had
to pitch in to help maintain the property. Though no
one has been formally invited into the home, it is

(22:29):
rumored that the mansion attracted trespassers from time to time.
Former neighbors have even witnessed people having picnics in the backyard.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
One trespasser alleges that.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
The house is haunted and that she was bitten by
black Widow spider upon trying to break in. Maybe that's
just kind of karma. An alarm system has been installed
and to this day remains one of the only changes
made to the Perilson's old home. No one knows exactly
what prompted doctor Perilson to commit those atrocities fifty years ago.
Some of speculated financial woes, while others have dug up

(23:03):
old unconfirmed rumors of doctor Perilson having been secretly hospitalized.
All three Perilson children survived the incident, though none have
been mentioned in the media sense. What remains is an
even larger mystery is why the current owner has left
the scene of the crime almost exactly as it was
in nineteen fifty nine.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Update.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
In December twenty twenty, the house was sold for two
point five million to a real estate investor who tends
to intends to renovate the property. Two point three five
million sounds really low.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Update.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
In twenty twenty one, a documentary filmmaker released a seven
part podcast series, The Los Felis Murder Mansion that is
a deep dive investigation into the mystery of this property.
She interviewed previous owners of the property, journalists, urban explorers,
and uncovered never before seen court documents, crime scene photos

(23:57):
and more, and has finally solved the smith's once and
for all. I really need to listen to that, and
I will try and find a link to that and
put it in the episode.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Notes.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
While the littles Feelis Murder Mansion didn't have any celebrity
tie ins, there's a lot of homes of people who
did This is an article from People magazine. Celebrities who
lived in haunted homes. Courtney Cox. During a March twenty
twenty two appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Courtney Cox opened
up about the paranormal encounters and wardings that preceded them

(24:31):
at the home she once owned in the Laurel Canyon
neighborhood of Los Angeles. The first warning, Cox said, came
from legendary singer Carol King, who previously.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
Owned the home.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
So, Carol King came over to my house and she
said there had been a divorce that was really ugly
and there was a ghost in the house.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
And I was like, yeah, whatever.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
But other people who stayed there with me, friends of mine,
said they had an encounter with a woman who was
sitting on the edge of the bed. Cox continued, those
she brushed off their concerns as the time as well.
That was until one day the doorbell rang and Cox
opened up the door to a ups guy or something
who asked her, do you know this house is haunted?
Cox replied, yeah, why why do you think that, to

(25:15):
which the delivery driver responded, because there's someone standing behind you.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
The star said.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
That was enough to convince her once and for all.
Octavia Spencer. Octavia Spencer opened up about her supernatural roommate
during a December twenty twenty one appearance on The Ellen
DeGeneres Show. The actress told the talk show host that
she grew up watching westerns and bought a house that
was owned by a man who worked in the genre.
Spencer purchased the nineteen twenty seven Spanish style house into

(25:43):
Luca Lake in twenty thirteen and said that goes to
she claims came with the property. Is her protector. I
love him because he kind of sorts out the bad
people that shouldn't be there. Spencer explained, he runs them
out if they stay at my place that they don't
want to come back, and that's how I know that
they don't belong there. She continued, If you're a person

(26:03):
that belongs there, everybody is like, Oh, your place is
so welcoming, It's so great, and that's how I feel
about it.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Generis asked if she's experienced.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Any spooky moments at home, like doors closing on their own.
Spencer said, well, when I leave for a long time,
he's a little shady. The door's closed, the lights go off,
when I turn them on. The only problem I love
my ghost. I just don't want you bringing your ghost
to my house. I don't want anybody who's ghosts thinking
they can be friends with my ghosts.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Next we have the Britney Spears. The Britney Spears story
that you've already heard Jenny Slaate. Jenny Slat says that
living in a haunted house basically shaped her entire personality.
Slate opened up about it in her Netflix comedy special
Stage Fright. I grew up in Massachusetts. I grew up

(26:53):
in a genuine haunted house. I knew it was haunted.
My parents when they moved in. They bought it with
all the furniture in it. The people had died. I'm
getting scared even telling the story. Then, the comedian recounted
how her parents pulled up the runner on the stairs
only to find a stack of old letters that had
been hidden there.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
The letters were from a man who was not.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
The previous owner's husband, but a sea captain. Slate said
that her father ended up actually seeing this sea captain's ghost.
My dad went into the hall and he looked out
onto the stairs, and standing there was this sea captain
looking at him pleading. Eventually, the family burned the letters
and the Sea Captain never returned, though they did continue

(27:35):
to see other apparitions. Jennifer Aniston. When she first moved
to Los Angeles, Jennifer Aniston rented an apartment. They came
with a ghost that just so happened to hate her roommate.
All of a sudden things started to happen. The dishwasher
would start to go, or the coffee maker would start
to go, or the stereo would just turn on at
full volume, and it was terrifying, she said on The

(27:58):
Lay Show with James Gordon. Following the device of a friend,
Anniston had someone come to clear the house. They had
Frankenson's and they put it in a little dish and
sort of started saying all of these things, and the
first corner that she went to, the dish cracked. When
we got to the really, really thick nineteen seventy five
ash tray that was sitting on the table, and then

(28:19):
nak cracked and she asked me to leave.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Then I really believed it.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
She had to have a talking to it with a ghost.
The ghost expert was able to pinpoint the problem. After
chatting with the spirit. The ghost hated my roommate, Anniston said,
I moved out. I feel terrible, but I couldn't say
it doesn't like you.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
I mean, that would be terrible.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Jenna Bush Hagar, the former First Daughter, heard her share
of bumps in the night when she lived in the
White House. She explained on The Kelly Clarkson Show she
and her sister Barbara Bush were woken up by the
phone ringing before hearing nineteen twenties piano music coming out
of our fire place.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Hagar, were you sure it creeped?

Speaker 6 (29:02):
Out?

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Kelly Clarkson that the ghosts were musical, not evil, and
came with no harm. Chris Kendall and Kylie Jenner. I
now this I don't believe because I believe if they
lived in a haunted house, they would have made it
into like a twenty.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Five part show, like fifty five shows.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Kendall Jenner revealed in a Holly Halloween themed twenty eighteen
Vogue video that she and her younger sister, Kylie Jenner
had some creepy experiences in their mom's house. I do
believe in ghosts. I don't know if I've ever seen one,
but I've experienced some ghosty situations in the house. My
mom lives in Kylie and I would always hear footsteps
on the roof while no one was home. Kylie's shower

(29:42):
used to turn on all the time and we never
know why.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
So yeah, I'm.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Convinced it was a ghost. I don't know. Kendall Matthew McConaughey.
During an interview about Matthew McConaughey's two thousand and nine
movie Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, the actor told the tale
of Madame Blue, the not so friendly spirit who lived
in his Hollywood home. I was not even under the influence,
and she was there. She wasn't that happy. It didn't

(30:09):
seem like she was going to be much fun to
hang around or have in my house. So I went
ahead and stood my ground. I opened the door, and
I said, you can move all around all you want,
but I'm not going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
For weeks.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Everyone that came to the house said the same thing.
There's someone down in that hall. There's somebody down in
that hall. Miley Cyrus, the singer in her family, had
a terrifying time staying at a haunted rental apartment in London.
I was having really crazy dreams and really scary things.
And one night, my little sister. It sounds crazy to

(30:42):
tell you, but she was standing in the shower and
all of a sudden I heard her scream. I run
in there, and the water had somehow flipped a hot
but it was still.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
It wasn't like the water had changed.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
The knob had turned, but she hadn't turned it, and
it was burning her. Before I felt this, I I
thought I had seen a little boy sitting on the
sink watching me take a shower. So I felt really
freaked out. The star added that her mom, aunt an
ex Liam Hemsworth, all had crazy experiences in the flat
after the shower incidents, and that she eventually felt forced

(31:17):
to find another place to stay. Liam Michelle, I really
truly had a ghost in an old apartment that I
lived in New York. Liam Michelle sat on a little
late with Lily singing. The actors were called, hearing a
burst from upstairs when she was on the bottom floor
of the unilet, only to go out and find it
silent with nothing out of place. She added, I'm like,

(31:39):
it's all in my head, And just as I say that,
the window flies open right in front of me, and also, weirdly,
I would hear someone singing in the apartment. Maybe it
was Rachel Berry Demi Levado. My house in Texas is
so ridiculously haunted, she wrote in a twenty thirteen buzz
Feed piece, not by a bad spirit, but by a

(32:01):
little girl. I think her name is Emily. I've had
a medium come over and ghost hunters. There were so
many times that I saw her when I was growing up.
I believe that everyone can tune into that part of
their mind. I think I have a really strong connection
to the afterlife. When I walk into a room, I
can tell if something has happened there or not, if
a hotel is haunted or not.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
Gigi had died.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
I've had a lot of unexplainable experiences with this supernatural
Gigi had died, said in Bogues twenty eighteen Halloween themed video.
When we were kids, we lived in this really old
house and I was given the attic as my room.
We used to hear this weird sound in the closet,
and then we asked my dad and he said the
old this old lady used to live in the house.

(32:44):
We convinced ourselves it was her, and we talked to her.
We'd be like, girl, will bring you some tea Jessica Alba.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
In a two thousand and eight interview.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Jessica Abba told the Sydney Morning Herald that she was
attacked by a ghost while sleeping in her family's home
when she was seventeen. I had no idea what it was.
I felt this pressure and I couldn't get up. I
couldn't scream, I couldn't talk, I couldn't do anything. Something
definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn't
get off the bed. And then once I did, I
screamed ranto my parents' room and I don't think I

(33:17):
spent many nights in that house ever. Again, there was
definitely something in my parents' old house.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
I don't know what it was.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
I can't really explain it, but they got it blessed
and they burned stage and stuff. Since then, Lucy Hale,
I have a ghost in my house, Lucy Hale told
Hollywood Teenzine in twenty ten, adding that her coffee maker
once came on by itself at one am. Doors close,
not slammed, but they close, And I have a motion
sensor that lights up in my apartment, and I swear

(33:46):
it lights up sometimes when there's nothing under it.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
And my dog barks a lot.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
I don't feel threatened that threatened, but it definitely freaks
me out. Claudia Schiffer, former residents seem to have trouble
letting go of the Tudor Man and Claudia Schiffer and
her family call home. We had a medium go around
and she told us that actually, all the ghosts in
the house are lovely. No one needs to be scared,
she told Architectural Digest.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
We welcome all ghosts.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Basically we hear creaking noises and strange things happen sometimes,
like the music comes on. Bonus points to her for
saying that to Architectural Digest, and not like Jimmy Kimmel.
Ellison Hannigan, I have a ghost in my house. I
saw him a couple months ago. Alison Hannigan once told
the San Francisco Gate, I don't think he died there,

(34:32):
because there's this law in LA that when you buy
a house, if somebody died there, they have to disclose that,
and nobody did so. I don't know why he's there,
but he's very friendly. My friend saw him first. One night,
she said, I don't mean to alarm you, but I
just saw a man follow us out of the house,
and I said, well, at least he's gentlemanly he let
us go first. Later that night, I saw this silhouette

(34:54):
of a man standing in the bathroom doorway. I was like, sweetie,
what are you doing? I thought it was my now husband,
Alex Denis Off, but then I looked Alex Alexis was asleep.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Next to me.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Sorry that I can barely read me and Leah Michelle
and our ghost both. This list is from Gallery magazine.
Adele The Fifth Time Grand The fifteen Time Grammy Winter
rinted an eleven million dollar mansion in Sussex, England, but
soon after moving in, the singer told a friend she
thought the house might be haunted. British Tabli The Sun

(35:30):
reported that Adele had said the place gives her the creeps,
and she even hired a nighttime bodyguard to keep watch.
She lived in the house for just two years before
moving out. Loretta Lynn, the country music icon, has spoken
openly about her Tennessee home being haunted. Appearing on an
episode of the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures, Lynn claimed to

(35:50):
have seen the ghost of a weeping woman pacing around
her house mourning her dead baby. Lynn's son had also
spoken of a supernatural encounter in the house, saying that
he awoke one night to the ghost of a Civil
War soldier attempting to take his boots. Joan Rivers, the
late legendary comedian, Smoke often about her belief that her
Upper east Side Triplex penthouse was haunted. Rivers claimed that

(36:13):
the apartment was visited by a spirit called Missus Spencer,
the unit's original tenants, Oh the Sun celebrity ghost story.
Rivers even went as far as to appear on an
episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories to recounter experience. She sold
the apartment a few years before she died, and it
was then gutted by.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
The new owner.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Nicholas Cage, the Academy Award Windsor winner, once owned the
infamous law Laurie House in New Orleans French Quarter. Who
I've been there on ghost tour. The residence is locally
considered to be the most haunted house in a city
with long and spooky history. You know other people have
beachfront property, Cage told the New York Daily News, I

(36:56):
have ghost front property. This is from Legacy News on YouTube.
Celebrity Mansions Hollywood never wanted you to see. They start with, well,
I'm the videos very long. I'm starting with Michael Jackson.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
The layers of corporate secrecy served as Jackson's true sanctuary
and apparently remains his spiritual refuge. The modern mansion was
extensively renovated by Jackson to include recording studios, gaming areas,
and private performance spaces where he could create without outside interference.
After his death, the property passed quietly to a trust,
but not before several people documented extraordinary paranormal experiences. Staff

(37:30):
members who worked at the property during Jackson's lifetime report
that supernatural activity began even before his death, Jackson's reflection
in mirrors when he wasn't present, hearing his unmistakable voice,
practicing vocals and empty rooms, and experiencing the sensation of
being watched by invisible eyes. After Jackson's death, these phenomena
allegedly intensified dramatically. The property's security systems began capturing footage

(37:51):
of a figure moving through the house that matched Jackson's
distinctive gait and mannerisms. A music executive who briefly considered
purchasing the property reported experiencing what he could own only
described as a private concert. While alone in the main studio,
he heard Jackson's voice performing songs that had never been released,
complete with instrumental accompaniment that had no visible source. The
most compelling evidence comes from the property's sophisticated recording equipment,

(38:12):
which has allegedly captured hours of what appears to be
Jackson's voice. Audio analysis confirms the vocal patterns match Jackson's
known recordings, but the content includes commentary on events that
occurred after his death. Children who have visited the property
report seeing the nice man who dances in various rooms,
describing him as looking exactly like Jackson during his thriller era.
These encounters are reportedly positive, with the children saying the

(38:33):
figure seems happy to see them and sometimes appears to
be teaching them dance moves. Paranormal investigators working under strict
confidentiality agreements have supposedly documented phenomena including instruments playing themselves
in Jackson's private studio, mirrors reflecting images of Jackson that
don't correspond to anyone present, and electromagnetic readings that spike
in rhythm with Jackson's famous songs. The current caretakers of
the property have reportedly learned to coexist with Jackson's spirit,

(38:56):
treating the phenomena as manifestations of his continuing create energy
rather than frightening supernatural events. They describe feeling a sense
of joy and music permeating the property, as if Jackson's
spirit has found peace in this hidden refuge. Number three,
the River Phoenix Tragedy, where innocence haunts River. Phoenix's former
house in West Hollywood, where he lived during his final months,
has allegedly become a site of supernatural activity that suggests

(39:19):
his innocent spirit remains earth bound and confused about his
tragic fate. The property has changed hands multiple times.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
That's horrible, and I don't think that's true. And I
think he's at peace for what it's worth.

Speaker 7 (39:30):
With each owner experiencing phenomena that reflect Phoenix's youth and
the circumstances of his death. Phoenix, known for his environmental
activism and clean living, ironically struggled with hidden addictions that
contradicted his public image. The house witnessed his internal battle
between his idealistic nature and the pressures of Hollywood, a
conflict that many believe continues in death. The first owners
after Phoenix's death, a director and his writer wife reported

(39:52):
seeing a young man matching Phoenix's appearance, sitting in the garden,
tending to plants and looking peaceful. When they approached these apparitions,
they would dissolve like warning mist, leaving behind an overwhelming
sense of sadness. More disturbing were the encounters that seemed
to reflect Phoenix's final night at the Viper Room. Several
visitors to the house have reported seeing Phoenix's spirit in distress,
appearing to beg for help, or looking confused and lost.

(40:14):
These manifestations typically occur late at night and are accompanied
by dramatic drops in temperature. A young actor who lived
in the house briefly described experiencing what felt like Phoenix's
spirit trying to warn him about the dangers of Hollywood's
party scene. During social gatherings at the house, electronics would
malfunction whenever drugs or alcohol were present, and guests reported
feeling an oppressive atmosphere that made celebration impossible. The supernatural

(40:35):
activity allegedly became so intense that one owner hired a
spiritual medium who claimed to communicate directly with Phoenix's spirit.
According to the medium, Phoenix was trapped between worlds because
his death contradicted everything he believed about life and spirituality,
leaving him unable to accept what had happened. Environmental activists
who have visited the property report feeling Phoenix's continuing passion
for ecological causes. Plants in the house reportedly grow unusually

(40:58):
well despite minimal care, and the property has become a
sanctuary for wildlife that seems unnaturally comfortable around human presence.
Most poignantly, several witnesses have described seeing Phoenix's spirit in
the form he held in stand by me, an innocent child,
rather than the young man he was at death. These
encounters typically occur in the house's library, where he appears
to be reading books about environmental issues and spiritual philosophy.

(41:20):
Legend has it that the current owners and environmentalist couple
have embraced Phoenix's presence rather than trying to banish it.
They've converted the house into an informal sanctuary for environmental education,
and the paranormal activity has reportedly become more peaceful and
inspiring rather than disturbing. Number two, the notorious Big Studio,
where hip hop legends never leave. The private recording studio

(41:40):
in Los Angeles where the notorious.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Big a haunted recording studio not even a home of
the Bonus.

Speaker 7 (41:48):
Spent his final week's working on music has allegedly become
a supernatural hotspot that the hip hop community whispers about
but rarely discusses publicly. The studio, still operating under a
different name, houses phenomena that suggests Biggie's spirit continue used
to create music from beyond. Christopher Wallace was working on
what would become his posthumous album Life After Death in
this studio when he was murdered in nineteen ninety seven.

(42:08):
Engineers and artists who worked with him during those final
sessions describe an atmosphere of creativity mixed with underlying tension,
as if Biggie sensed his time was limited. After his death,
the studio began experiencing supernatural activity that started subtly but
grew more pronounced over time. Sound engineers reported finding new
recordings on equipment that had been powered down overnight, featuring
what sounded like Biggie's voice laying down versus over instrumentals

(42:31):
that no one could identify. Multiple artists who have recorded
in the I.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
Feel like laying down the tracks. He would also mention
who killed him, but I don't know for sure.

Speaker 7 (42:41):
Studios since described feeling Biggie's presence during their sessions. Some
report inspirations striking them suddenly while in the booth, finding
themselves dropping lyrics with complexity and flow that surpassed their
usual abilities. Others describe feeling watched and judged by an
invisible presence that seems to evaluate their musical authenticity. The
most well documented incidents allegedly involve equipment behaving in ways

(43:02):
that support, rather than hinder, the creative process. Mixing boards
slide to optimal settings on their own, and recording equipment
begins running at precisely the right moments to capture spontaneous
musical ideas. Several Grammy winning tracks have reportedly been recorded
in sessions where this supernatural assistance was experienced. P Diddy,
who was close to Biggie and has privately acknowledged the
paranormal activity, reportedly considers the studio blessed by his friend's

(43:25):
continuing presence.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
Worded that piece of shit only got fifty months in jail.

Speaker 7 (43:29):
He visits occasionally to commune with Biggie's Spirit, believing it
helps him stay true to their shared vision for hip hop.
Audio engineers have supposedly accumulated hours of unexplained recordings from
the studio's equipment, featuring what appears to be Biggie's voice,
commenting on current hip hop trends and offering advice to
younger artists. These recordings are closely guarded by the studio's owners,
who fear they could be misinterpreted or exploited. Recent activity

(43:50):
allegedly includes reports of Biggie's Spirit appearing to young artists
in the studio, offering guidance about staying authentic in an
increasingly commercialized industry. Witnesses describe these encounter as inspiring rather
than frightening, suggesting the Biggie Spirit serves as a guardian
of true hip hop artistry. Legend says the studio has
become an unofficial pilgrimage site for serious hip hop artists,
who believe that recording there connects them to the genre's

(44:12):
golden age. While the owners maintain strict confidentiality about the
paranormal activity, the studio's reputation for producing exceptional music has
only grown since Biggie's death Number one, the Marilyn Monroe
murder House, Hollywood's most terrifying secret. Topping our countdown is
what many consider Hollywood's most chilling supernatural cover up.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
The agreed that she was murdered. Agree There hard agree Wood.

Speaker 7 (44:34):
Home where Marilyn Monroe died in nineteen sixty two. Though
the modest house has been demolished and rebuilt twice, reports
claim Monroe's spirit continues to haunt the site, re enacting
her final night and attempting to communicate the truth about
her death. Early owners described eerie cries, vanishing pill bottles,
and repeated ghostly manifestations. Psychic's allege Munroe insists she didn't
die by suicide and wants to reveal what truly happened.

(44:55):
Despite the homes demolition in the nineteen seventies, her spirit
reportedly lingered, frightening construction workers and neighbors. A new house
built in the nineteen eighties saw heightened activity, with Monroe
appearing distraught and sometimes angry, especially during a dinner party
in the nineteen nineties where she allegedly pointed at guests
linked to her past. Paranormal teams using EMF detectors claim
to have recorded Monroe's spirit spelling out names and dates,

(45:16):
contradicting the official narrative. The home was torn down again
in twenty seventeen, officially for renovation, though insiders say the
haunting made it unlivable. Today's owners remain anonymous, shielded by
legal protections, and have employed ghost hunters, historians, and private investigators.
Their efforts, however, are reportedly met with legal and external pressure,
hinting that powerful figures may want Monroe's secrets kept hidden.
Despite the secrecy, sightings continue, Witnesses say Monroe's spirit appears confused, desperate,

(45:41):
and determined, seemingly anchored to the site by a truth
She's still trying to tell the price of supernatural celebrity
real estate. What makes these haunted celebrity mansions truly shocking
isn't just the supernatural activity. It's the devastating financial losses.
These properties consistently sell below market value and change hands
far more frequently than comparable luxury real estate. Some have
been sold multiple times within just a few years, a

(46:02):
pattern virtually unheard of in premium Hollywood locations. Real estate
agents working these properties often require special clauses and higher
commissions due to the unique challenges involved. Property management companies
have reportedly spent fortunes on everything from spiritual cleansings to
complete renovations, all in desperate attempts to make these mansions livable.
The most telling sign many of these properties sit empty
for months or years between owners, costing their wealthy owners

(46:25):
hundreds of thousands in maintenance and taxes while generating no
rental income. In Hollywood, where real estate is everything, that's
the most frightening phenomenon of all. From Marilyn Monroe's murder
House to Elvis's secret retreat, these haunted celebrity mansions prove
that fame doesn't end with death, and neither do the
secrets that Hollywood will do anything to protect the next I.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Think that's one of the reasons that celebrity ghost stories
and celebrity haunted homes are so intriguing. It's the same
way that they're not protected by protected from tragedy, or
protected from sickness, or protected from all these things. Us
mortals feel and experiences that even their homes can be

(47:07):
haunted to by them or by ghosts that came before them.
I think part of it is human nature to want
to find these stories. I think that's why I'm obsessed
with this small tidbit of Britney Spears feeling like there
was a portal in her house, and then Britney Murphy

(47:27):
moving in and all of this tragedy happening. Do I
really think those two things were connected. I really don't
think it matters. I think sometimes things are just so
tragic that they are haunting. Everything that happened with Britney
Murphy haunts me. That she died at thirty two haunts me,

(47:49):
just like Marilyn Monroe dying at thirty six haunts me.
That I don't want Marylyn's death to be a suicide
or an accidental overdose, it to be a murder. I
want the better story. I want her to have the
better ending. With Brittany Murphy, it's harder for me to

(48:11):
think it was some conspiracy, even though it's eerie and
all of those things. I just think it's tragically human
and mortal. That she was sick, that she had pneumonia,
that she was severely anemic, and that mixed with all
these overcounter cold medicines trying to fight a virus that

(48:35):
needed antibiotics, and at that point hospitalization really did kill her.
I don't know about the whole toxic mold thing. I
don't think that I personally believe that that's true. But
I do personally believe that places can be haunted, and
if not haunted, I believe they can have an energy

(48:57):
to them. I kind of believe in the residual haunting
theory that what happens in a place affects it forever,
kind of reverberates through time, and you can pick up
on that energy, whether it's listed nonzilla or not. So
what is it about these stories? Why are we so

(49:20):
obsessed with the idea of haunted houses, especially when celebrities
live in them. Like I said, maybe it's because these
people seem untouchable, rich, famous, protected by gates and assistants
and sky high walls, and yet not protected from whatever's
lurking in the dark. Maybe haunted houses let us project

(49:43):
our own anxieties onto spaces will never live in, places
will never be able to afford. Maybe some of it
is even part revenge fantasy mixed with part voyeurism. Sure
she also has a Grammy, but she has demon in
the basement. Yeah, he won an oscar, but there's a

(50:04):
cold spot where his bedroom is, or maybe, just maybe
these homes carry the reps to do of lives lived
too fast, too publicly, and too painfully.

Speaker 4 (50:17):
Like I said.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
About residual hauntedings, energy just doesn't just disappear right. It transfers,
It clings, it whispers down staircases. So was Britney Spears right?
Did her reiki guy accidentally open a spiritual portal and
let something sinister in? Did Britney Murphy inherit more than

(50:41):
just a Hollywood Hills mansion, something unseen, something unwelcome? And
are these haunted homes really cursed or more likely, are
they just mirrors for the pain people bring with them.
I don't have all the answers, but I do know this.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
If the house has.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Been owned by both Britney Spears and Britney Murphy, and
both women reported unsettling activity or ended up deeply harmed
by their time there, I'm definitely not moving in.

Speaker 4 (51:14):
What about you? Would you do it?

Speaker 3 (51:17):
Would you if money was no object and you could
move into the place where Marilyn Monroe's house was, or
stay in the Low's Felice murder mansion? Would you do it?
I'd gone to a lot of haunted places. I'm kind
of obsessed with it. I'm doing an episode about this
place called the Sally House in Kansas and I was

(51:39):
looking it up on Airbnb and they actually had a
night open for when I'm going to be in Kansas City,
and I was so ready to book it until I
saw that you had to bring your own sleeping bags
and there weren't like haunted beds provided, And I was like,
that crosses a line for me, like having to sleep
on the floor all on seeing the little Girl's ghost

(52:02):
for that. But would you stay in these places? Do
you think a place could be haunted? Have you had
a haunted house story or lived in a house that
you think was haunted? If you listen to the episode
I did with my mom, we shared a bunch of
stories about experiences from the houses we've lived in. I've

(52:24):
had few houses where I never had anything happen. But
is that this stuff we attract with us? Is that
just because I'm a sucker and a believer and ultimately
a scaredy cat, especially after doing research on stuff like this.
I'll be doing spooky episodes all month long. Today is

(52:46):
just day six out of thirty one, and one of
our final episodes is going to be all listeners stories.
I've already gotten some great ones from you all, so
please keep sending them in it be anything scary, Really,
I'm I want to hear all of it, because this

(53:07):
all just fascinates me of what could be real and
then how could it be real, and how we try
and rationalize it after it happens, Like what's a curse
and what's a coincidence and what's a haunting and what's
just in our heads? It's all terribly interesting to me,

(53:28):
and it's also part hopefulness, like part of me hoping
that there is more, that this isn't just it us
as our mortal selves, that there's the ghost of a
stand by me aged River Phoenix reading environmental books somewhere
that we do go on to a better place, but

(53:51):
in our own way, linger in this one. Let me
know your thoughts, let me know your feelings on this.
I really, really I'm not trying to be disrespectful to
Brittany Murphy or Britney Spears. I will link to my
longer episodes on both of them. But I have always
been obsessed with this little tidbit since that broke in

(54:13):
twenty twenty one about the Reiki portal and Britney feeling
like someone tried to push her down the stairs. And
I do believe her. I do believe that that happened
and something scared her. I've had things that really scared me,
and if money wasn't an object I probably would have
moved out of a lot of places too. Send me

(54:33):
your stories, let me know your thoughts. Thank you for listening.
Thank you so much for listening to another episode of
Broad's next Door. We have thirty one spooky episodes scheduled

(54:53):
for all of Halloween. I hope this one was a
little bit lighter because tomorrow we will have Hiller clowns
and John Waynegaysey clowns scare me so much so. Also
researching John Wayne Gacy scared has scared me so much.

Speaker 4 (55:12):
Let me know if you.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
Have horror ideas, suggestions, and don't forget to send in
your own stories. You can reach me online and social
media on everything at Daniellascrema. We're at Broad's next Door.
You can email me at broadsnextdoor dot com or Broad'snextdoor
at gmail dot com. I love getting your messages, your
stories that have been coming in are truly terrifying.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
I wonder if some of you are.

Speaker 3 (55:37):
Making them up, but I don't even care, and you
probably wonder that too if you heard my mom and
I have our completely unhinged conversation.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
The other day. But I hope this was a lighter one.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
All my love for the memory of Brittany Murphy, all
my love and hope for the future successes of Britain Spears.
I love you very much. I will talk to you
very soon.

Speaker 4 (56:05):
Bye.

Speaker 6 (56:11):
I think that's gonna come out. I think that's gonna
come out.

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Mm hm

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
