In 1935, Benny Goodman took over as the bandleader, and the show became one of the most popular radio programs of the 1930s and 1940s. Other popular performers who appeared on Camel Caravan included Georgia Gibbs, Anita O'Day, and Vaughn Monroe. The show was known for its high-quality production values and its star-studded lineup.
