Today's place is a very unusual FBI case, but it
all starts with the murder of Cheryl Privlaire, who seemed
to have a perfect life. She had only been married
for about two months and was looking forward to a
wonderful life with her husband, Paul Purvlaire. The crime was
fueled by hatred ruined all her dreams, as Cheryl were
shot in the head when she was about to park
her car inside La California apartment in nineteen sixty eight.

The initial investigation was pretty challenging as the police did
not have any leads or witnesses to work with. They
carried out a thorough search of the crime scene canvas
the local area, and IVY interviewed several of Cheryl's acquaintances,
but to no avail. This unfortunately led to confusion for

the local police department, then eventually calling in the FBI
to help them with their investigation. On a weird side note,
the FBI did join the police when the case stalled.
Intrigued by a strange lead, a man claiming to be
a psychic, Robert Dower contacted authorities alleging visions of the crime.
His detailed descriptions of the murder scene run cannily accurate,

raising suspicions. Investigation, though revealed there was no psychic but
had toys, had ties to a local drifter named Charles McCauley,
whose gun match the murder weapon. Yet evidence were circumstantial
and no charges stuck. The crase grew weirder weirder when
letters purportedly from the killer taunted police with cryptic crimes
of rhymes about green silk and canyon graves. If we

go back to Paul Pervallera, Paul seemed pretty devastated by
the loss of his wife, and authorities looked into his
life and discovered that he was having an affair with
a woman named Christina Cromwell. He met her when working
at an insurance company. Paul had two beers I mean.
In nineteen eighty six, a year after Paul and Christina met, her,
then husband, Marlon Cromwell, met a gruesome death when their

Highland Park home was set on fire. Once the fire
was subdued, the case turned into homicide as an autopsy
determined that Marlon was shot to death before being burned.
What I forgot to mention is that Paul met Christina
after I mean, he had the affair with her, then
later married her, and they owned two beer bars they ran.

In eighty six, a year after Paul and Christina met
her then husband, Marlon Cromwell met a gruesome death. Although
Marlon Cromwell's death um killers were never caught, Christina collected
his life insurance and did not seem much protured by

a trial, authorities decided not to wait any longer and
arrested Paul and Christina for their roles in Cheryl's death.
Paul Purvalaire is probably still behind bars. Christina Cromwell and
Paul Purvlaire pled not guilty to the charges against them,
but the jury wasn't convinced. Christina and Paul were both
found guilty of murdering Marlon Cromwell, while Paul was also
convicted of Cheryl's murder and his ex wife's attempted murder.

As a result, Christina was sentenced to life in prison
with the possibility of parole, while Paul was sentenced to death.
In nineteen sixty nine, so it's kind of interesting. It
was as simple as solving the case. Seemed to be
a classic tale of somebody who was having an affair
and decided to murder his wife when she found out,
