Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Cases of the FBI podcast, Retired agents share
some of their most incredible cases. Let's begin a crazy
story looking at the FBI files. A Texas college professor
and self described social justice advocate has been arrested for
(00:23):
allegedly streaming child porn. As it even gets worse, he
even had one of the videos playing on his TV
when the FBI rated his home, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors
Zaid Hadad, a professor at the University of Texas at
San Antonio, was accused of accessing more than one hundred
and eighty child porn videos that he streamed from his
(00:44):
computer to a TV mounted on the bedroom wall. One
of the videos allegedly depicted the child pornography was displayed
on Hadadd's TV as the FBI executed the search Warren
on his apartment. That clip had been sent to him
via link on Telegram and encryptocloud based messaging app. Hadad
then would then store the child porn material and the
(01:06):
Telegram app on his phone. According to the FEDS, they
probe determined that the links said I was accessing off
and led to virtual zoom meetings where child porn would
be live streamed Hadad, who was nabbed last Tuesday, has
since been charged with one count of possession of child
pornography and one count of knowingly accessing with intent to view.
At the time of his arrest, Haddad was an assistant
professor of interdisciplinary Studies and Curriculum and Instruction at the
(01:28):
public University I think it was in the University of
Texas at San Antonio. His bio describes him as a teacher, educator,
and a social justice advocate. Note that his research interests
include understanding the ways we negotiate our many intersecting identities.
Hadad was previously a high school studies social studies teacher
and a guidance counselor. If convicted, he will face up
(01:52):
the twenty years in prison.
