Matt Callahan, Tri-City ValleyCats

A native of Hingham, Massachusetts, 2023 will be Matt's 16th season with the ValleyCats. He is a 2003 graduate of Boston College, and before his time with the ValleyCats spent several years in the telecommunication industry working for a firm in Natick, MA.Matt was named the Sam Nader Executive/Staff Member of the Year by the New York-Penn League in 2012 and was the recipient of NYPL's Robert Stedler Executive of the Year Award in 2017. Callahan was also honored as a member of the Albany Business Review's 40 Under 40 class in 2017 and is a 2015 graduate of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Institute. He is a member of the YMCA's Rensselaer County Advisory Council and the board president of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District. He is also the secretary of the Pitch In Charitable Foundation.Callahan helped lead the team's transition to the Frontier League, an MLB Partner League, in January of 2021. In addition to playing a key role in the team's ballpark operations, sales/marketing efforts, and fan experience, he now oversees the baseball operations and roster management of the club as well.In his free time, Matt enjoys live music and playing sports such as baseball, softball, hockey, and skiing. He currently resides in Delmar with his wife Maggie and daughters Katherine & Erin.
