Speaker 1 (00:34):
Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of the Parks and
Passports Podcast. A very special Parks and Passports podcast. I'm
your hero, Mike Mac The villainous Eric Hyles is here
with me.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Nice. I'm glad I get to play the other side
of the coin on this one. Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah. So we are recording on the Disney Destiny right now.
It's been in a wild couple of days. We have
gotten to experience what this ship has to offer. What
were your first impressions getting on this new ship.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, I love that new ship smell, absolutely right. So
you've got to love the new ship smell. It's absolutely
the most gorgeous Disney ship I think I've been on,
and all of the ships that I've been on, this
takes the cake. From the moment you walk into the
lobby and the atrium to the kiss good Night. Everything
is just completely over the top as far as decorations

(01:31):
and environment, and it's just a fantastic, fantastic looking ship.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Totally agree. It is definitely beautiful, and it's very similar
to the Disney Treasure. A lot of the vibes are
the same, which this is the same class as The
Treasure and the Wish, And in my opinion, the Treasure
took everything from the Wish, which I already loved, and
just kind of tweaked everything to make it a little
bit better. And the Destiny is on par in every
aspect with that. So it is just I mean, it's

(02:00):
pretty much perfect. When you're walking around the ship, it's
just it's absolutely beautiful. I am also a huge Marvel nerd,
which I have probably mentioned at least a couple dozen
times on this podcast. There's so much Marvel awesomeness around
this ship, so it's definitely, you know, a huge plus
for me.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, I mean, everything from the artwork to Big Hero
you know, having Baymax hold your keys when you get
into your stateroom and all of that, to the artwork
inside of the state rooms is just fantastic. I mean
it's a great place to be a hero you've got
but here are many on the front of the ship, yeah,
all the way down to Spider Man on the back.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
So yeah, there's a lot of superhero vibes. And obviously
the theme, like I mentioned kind of at the top
is heroes and villains, and so you've got a whole
lot of Disney heroes and Disney villains. You got the
Hercules show. But let's start off by talking, you know,
talking first impressions. That Grand Hall is where you first
walk onto the ship, and I mean it's incredible.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yes, you could almost say it's like the Incredible was
without the Incredibles being there. But I mean you are
greeted by this you know, amazing cast where they you know,
announced your name and you know, welcome your your family.
In our case, this was the Bonador family, so we
are all adopted Bonadors for this trip. So we got
welcomed onto the ship and there is this gorgeous atrium

(03:21):
lobby three three stories tall when you walk in, and
then there's this fantastic statue of the Black Panther and
you you're greeted right off the bat with the Black Panther,
right there staring you life size in the face.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, and it's a very very cool statue. It's also
there's there's a whole lot of Wakanda inspiration around the
Grand Hall and actually around the rest of the ship
as well, but it's just it's really, really beautiful. And
then you briefly mentioned the Kiss good Night earlier, and
that is a Wakanda themed kiss good night and it
is absolutely stunning to see in person. I've heard there

(03:59):
are additions coming to that. There's some you know, different
elements that they can play in with the kiss good night,
with the wish and the treasure as well, so I
would imagine there's going to be some differences to the
Kiss good Night on this ship as well. But yeah,
the Grand Hall is absolutely incredible. It's where I spend
up spending most of my time. Actually, we're recording right

(04:20):
now on deck five, just off of the Grand Hall,
just in some of the little seating area over there.
So this is honestly a really cool experience in itself,
and any of.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
The background noise you're hearing is coming live from the
Grand Hall itself. So yes, what is the big object
in the center? Call? Do they they've given that a
name is that you.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Talk me like the lighting fixture, lighting fure. I've been
referring it, referring to it as vibranium because it looks
like the vibranium fixture with like the purple glow to
it too. It's really really cool. So yeah, I mean
everything about this grand hall, I absolutely love it. But
I do want to talk about the staterooms as well.
So we have a family a deluxe family veranda stateroom,

(05:00):
pretty standard to what I've seen on the Wish and
the Treasure. But I think, having just been on the
Disney Magic as well, it's this is a plus.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah, it's a plus. It's a bigger plus I would think.
I mean it's it's nice and roomy. We've put four
people in here, and you know it does have the
pull down bunk from the top and then the lower
couch folds into a single bed, so families with two
children will fit right in there. There's a nice king
sized bed right there in the middle of the state room,

(05:30):
so you won't be hurting for size even in the
deluxe family state room. If you go up to the
upgraded version, you get even more room.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah. Absolutely, I also got a chance to check out
some of the like open houses around, some of the
other stateroom types and the interior. So I've only ever
been in a veranda room. I've been spoiled on my price.
But I did get to check out one of the
inside staterooms and it was actually it was very nice,
Like I could definitely see myself cruising in one of
those inside staterooms. It's obviously a little bit smaller, but

(06:04):
not too much. You're not giving up too much space.
It's still a decent sized bathroom. And then going from
that end of the spectrum, I did also get to
check out the Tower Suite, which on this ship is
Tony's Tony Stark inspired.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Oh nice, so cool.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
My only issue with if, if by some miracle, I
ever got to cruise in the Tower Suite, I don't
think i'd leave. I don't think i'd ever want to leave,
right There's really not because you get all the service
that you need right there in the suite, and it's
it's absolutely incredible. So yeah, and then I it'd also
get to see the Hero Suite, which is Hercules theme.
That is also I didn't you mention the Tower Suite

(06:41):
is two stories. The Hero Suite also two stories. Yeah,
both really really impressive, and you'll see videos of those
on our YouTube channel YouTube dot com slash d two Travel.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Now, did you get a chance to take check out
the one story suite?

Speaker 1 (06:55):
I did not know. Those are the only suites that
I got a chance to see. I have been running
around the ship. I didn't see if they had one
of the one story suits for an open house.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
We had to see if we can break into the
cabin next to ours, because that is a one story
suite and I've been dying to peak around like the
corner on the Verona to see what's in there.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Well, I was curious if it was going to be
an open house right next door to us, but we
haven't seen that be the case yet. So one of
the big one of the favorite things for Disney Cruise
Line everybody always raves about is the dining. We've had
a little bit of a weird experience on this preview
cruise because this was the christening event. So our first

(07:32):
night dining, we didn't actually have a timed dinner. It
was kind of just open seating. So we went to
nineteen twenty three and the menu they offered was a
taste of the Disney Destiny. You got the phile a.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I did get the steak, yes, phile.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah, so and that was from nineteen twenty three. How
was that?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
It was wonderful? I mean it's very tender, very flavorful.
It was I think peppercorn flavored, had a little peppercorn
sauce with it, and you know, I had this lovely
wedge to start off, and that was fantastic because I'm
a big LETG salad fan. You know. Even in the
food outside of like nineteen twenty three and the other
places that we've gone so far has been really really good.

(08:12):
We just actually grabbed a snack and I had some
pizza from.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Specifically with pizza counter is called Daisies Pizza. I don't know,
something like that, but yeah, everything Festival of Foods is
my my go to. The Donald's canteena the burritos and
tacos and that station is incredible, so so good. So yeah,
that's been my go to for lunches for sure. We
did eat at World of Marvel, Oh I didn't. I didn't.
Let me back up to nineteen twenty three. That first

(08:41):
night I had the roasted chicken from Pride Lands, which
we have not gotten to eat at Pride Lands yet.
We are actually once we are done recording of the
head over Yes, yeah yeah, and as the Lion King
themed restaurant where they have a full on Lion King
show happening in the middle of the restaurant. So I'm
excited to see that.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
And it's evidently very emotional too. Some of the people
who have seen it actually so that they were very
you know, some of them are actually in tears.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
So I have heard that too, and you'll you'll see
some of that again in our on our YouTube channel
YouTube dot com slash YouTube Travel if I can't plug
it enough. In this episode, we also ate at Worlds
of Marvel, which the show on Worlds of Marvel is
the same as they have on the Disney Treasure It
is the Groot and Rocket show mostly focused on Groot.
I don't even remember what we ate there. What did

(09:27):
you get to eat it?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
In Worlds of Marble? I had the chicken schnitzel.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Oh, how was that?

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It was really good? You know, you could go wrong
with schnitzel really quickly because basically it's pounded you know, meat,
whether it's pork or chicken and dipped in bread crumbs
and if you overcook it it comes out really dry.
But this was really cooked well.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
So okay, I do remember I got the nyoki which
was very good. I could have used like two more
plates of it, which on a Disney cruise you couldn't
do that. You could just go ahead and order two
more plates of it. Dessert also was very good. I
had a cheesecake at that Big Doughnuts.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Big Doughnuts Sunday. Yes, because you know you put donuts
and ice cream and Sunday together. I'm all about that, right, Yeah,
it was. It was fantastic, and you know, you could
actually get you know, two meals if you want to
three meals. You know, my wife has actually done that
before on cruises I have as well. Yeah you can.
You can order as many meals as you can put into.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
You Yeah, all right, you know what, even if you
just want to sample things, you can you can do
that too. And then we touched a little bit on
the Festival of Foods. There's also the Martline market that
is the buffet uh and then of forgetting any other
dining options.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Would you cover all three rests? Nineteen twenty three.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
World and Marvel and then Pride Lands will be getting
at it in a little bit, but I do. I
am remembering now Cask and Canon, which is the bar
and lounge. They do offer food as well, and I
got a chance to see the food. I didn't get
a chance to try any of it, but wow, it
looks delicious. Looks so they have a giant pretzel, which
is always a win in my book. So I don't
know that I'll get a chance to try anything from
Casting Cannon, but that is definitely my next Disney Destiny cruise.

(11:07):
I will be doing that for sure.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Well, we still have like four or five hours left
today to burn, so we could find some drinks, some
smoke drinks, et cetera, and maybe even a giant pressol
two before before we have to put our luggage out tonight,
which is always the most pressing part of any cruise.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
It definitely is, especially when it's only a three night
I feel like we just got on the ship. But
let's let's continue this conversation about the bars and lounges
because Casting Cannon is, by the way, that's the Pirates
themed bar, and you'll see some details in our vlogs
on our YouTube channel. Really really cool.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
It is.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
This is where the periscope pub is on the Treasure
and Keg and compass on the Wish I had cask
and cannon, keg and compass. They keep trying to throw.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
And beacon barrel the parks just confusion.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
And further meanwhile, here we are on the Parks and
Passports podcasts.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
So a lot of alliteration going on here.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, yeah, so that is really cool. Again, I haven't
gotten try anything from Cast and Canon yet. I have
had a drink from the Sanctum, the Doctor Strange themed bar,
which is really really cool. They the bar itself isn't
quite as detailed as like say the Skipper Society on
the Disney Treasure. However, the drinks are really unique and

(12:17):
creative and a lot of fun. So I definitely recommend
trying a couple of different things from the Sanctum. Have
you gotten to stop at any of.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
The Fortunately, the I want The thing I wanted to
go was to the Haunted Mansion Bar, but I did
not get a chance to do that because it was
pretty much wall the wall private events.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, during the preview, there's been a lot of that. Yeah,
that's on the unfortunate downside of a preview cruise. But
hopefully we can. We still have some time, like you said,
we still have some time. We might be able to
get into the Haunted Mansion parlor. I did get to
walk around there. I didn't get to try anything. I
have tried it on the Disney Treasure. The drinks were
all great there, and it's so much fun to just
it's such an awesome atmosphere in that lounge. So definitely

(12:55):
recommend that it's going to be a popular option for sure,
but definitely do not this that.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I would say we've had an action path three days here.
Would you not say that? Oh?

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Absolutely, so far has no question. There's been so much happening,
different shows and character interactions all over the place. One
of the shows I got to see that I really
really loved was actually in Daville's, which is the Kroila
Daville themed barn lounge, and it's really like a piano lounge,
and the show was so there's there's storytellers on this

(13:28):
ship like they did with the Treasure. So here we
have Gamble and Zaia and they are so much fun.
They're popping up all over the place they I saw.
I ran into them a couple of times and they
got to nobing by name and actually called me out
in a show.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
You're not Cruise Line famous.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
So but yeah, they they host this show in Daville's
and they have you help. So Krouela does not like
her song by the way really speaks, it speaks ill
of her. So she is not a fan. So she
wanted a new song created for her, and so as
as a group in Deville's Gamble and Zia help us
all to come up with a new song. Everybody comes
up with a new a new verse for her new song.

(14:07):
It's it's really fun.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Did she like the verse? The verse?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
She did well. They they made us make it a
positive song about Kruella. So yeah, they she was a
fan at the end.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yes, that's awesome. I'm glad she was finally happy. Yeah,
she seems rare ye, She's not one that gets happy
really easily.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
But the Ville's as a whole two is also a
lot of fun. This is where the Scatcat's lounge is
on Treasure and Nightingales on the wish uh and so
it's it's obviously you know, decked out in Kruella, theming.
It's got a Dalmatian spotted piano, the bright red carpet throughout.
They actually recreated her vampire phone behind the bar, so

(14:49):
that's on display. And then I did get a drink
from there too, a strange one. I got a doctor
strange one. No, that was from the Sanctum. I got
the Sista, which was a strawberry and banana infused tequila.
It was good.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
That's the one you offered me a drink up?

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
It was.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
It was really delicious. I'm not a tequila drinker. I
kind of just went for what I thought would be,
you know, the visually pleasing drink to try, which again
you'll be able to see on our socials and on YouTube.
And it did come served in a Dalmatian spotted shaker,
so I made the right choice there.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Well, I will say the glass was actually pretty cool. Yeah,
so it was like a is it a martini or I.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Guess it's a martini glass. It's not like angled like
it's rounded.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Now angled like a margharita glass.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Right.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
It was black on the outside and sparkly silver on
the inside.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Yes, and it was it was good. It was a
good drink. I it really just tasted like chilled banana.
So if you like banana, I recommend that one. Yeah,
there's definitely some other stuff at at Devill's I want
to try. I think I got it back up too,
because I don't know if I mentioned I tried the
Mirror Dimension. That was the drink I had at the Sanctum,
and that was the one that I remember a few

(16:00):
episodes back. It was probably months ago at this point,
but we talked about the menus for the Sanctum and
this was the one that had like the electric buzz
rock in it or something like that, so it doesn't
come that's not an element in the drink itself. It's
actually something that comes in the glass. And what it
is is, you know, you know those like science experiment
like the electric ball you'd put on in the electricity

(16:23):
like those. Yeah, it's that in your glass, which is
really really cool. Unfortunately, they don't when you sit out
like in the lounge area, they don't serve the drink
that way, but you if you sit at the bar,
they will have it so that it does do that.
So it's a lot of fun. I got the chance
to play with one during an open house.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Today's worth It's worth sitting at the bar, is what
you're saying, Yes, oh definitely, yeah, yeah, absolutely, you know again,
it was busy.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
The Sanctum is very popular, so so.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
The other thing that I did, you know, a se
kind of it's not really a secret drink, but it's
not a place that you expect to get a drink
after my spa treatment today. And by the way, the
sense of spot is amazing here. And yeah, I was
I was gonna go for the hundred minute massage at
any given opportunity. I did swing by Hooks Barbary.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
I love hooks, and picked up a.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Smoked old fashion yes, and it was amazingly good. Now
it was well worth it.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
What elements did you because they like to let you choose,
like the type of wood they smoke it with and everything.
So what did you go?

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Would traditional like oak smoke? Okay, just to try to
infuse it with oak? And then I, you know, I
just picked a whiskey that I never had seen before
and I can't remember the name of it on the
top of my head, but it was really really good.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
So yeah, I got to try hooks on the wish
and it's that was maybe the best old fashion I've had.
I think it's it's so good. I love a smoked
old fashion and they do it really well. By the way,
this is Hook's Barbering. This is like you can go
in there and get a haircut, get a shave, but
then they also just make you an amazing old fashion.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
It's really cool to just walk in and grab a drink.
But I will recommend because I have had the Men's shave,
the Royal shave before, okay, and at Hooks Barbering, not
on this cruise but on another one, and it's it's
it's kind of a religious experience for shaving as far
as shaving goes. So I highly recommended that that'spot treatment
as well.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Did you do the shave and in old fashion?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yes? I did.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Yeah, that sounds like a nice time.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
And I had the old fashion you know, while I
was getting the shave in between, like you know, trimming
or cutting off whiskers and then the hot towels and
stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Oh, I thought you were gonna hit me with a
whiskers and whiskey.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
I should have. Oh, I'm sorry I missed that, y'all.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
So let's get back into that entertainment. We talked a
little bit about the storytellers Gamble and Zaia, who are
just so much fun and they're part of so many
different shows. The first night, I think, you know, this
is an adult's only experience, I will tell you that,
but if you're not. If there's one thing I would
say don't miss on the Disney Destiny, it is the
With Great Power Marvel comedy show. Unbelievable, Like they push

(19:05):
the limits of what you would expect to hear and
see on a Disney cruise. I mean, let's just say
Deadpools involved.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Yeah, I was gonna say, was that a lot of
dead Pool type like level of pushing the boundaries?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yes, exactly. I guess maybe not all the way there.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Okay, so there were some things that they just wouldn't
go beyond, but.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Came very close. Like it again, more than you would think,
so hilarious show. If you've been on the Treasure, you
might have seen the what is it called Choose Wisely,
the Indiana Jones themed comedy show they do. There's it's
along the same line, same kind of show, really really funny.
Definitely recommend that's in Saga, which is like an entertainment venue,
and that is only once on a cruise, so do

(19:44):
not miss it when you see it come up on
your schedule.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
There.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
I definitely recommend that one. There's also just a whole
bunch of shows that pop up constantly in the in
the Grand Hall, and again a lot of these are
with Gamble and Zaia and different characters. There's actually a
low key show that it's going to be starting here
in probably about a half hour, so we'll be we'll
be getting some video of that one that you can
keep an eye out for. Two. But I've seen Maleficent

(20:08):
out here. I know Kruella had a fashion show out here.
I didn't get a chance to see that one, but
they do a really awesome job with the entertainment. And again,
if you just hang out in the Grand Hall, something
is going to pop up every hour or so, so
you know, there's just so much going on. I actually
I was walking by the Grand Hall and I just
heard this like thunderous villainous laugh, and I walk over

(20:30):
and Doctor Facilier is just kind of wander around miked
up like talking throughout the entire Grand Hall, which is
really really cool.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
That's fantastic, And the other thing. I'm hoping you're going
to get to it because I can't actually see your agenda,
but I'm sure we're going to be talking about fireworks
and Pirates Night and all of that stuff too, right, yes, yeah, yeah,
So I know you've had a incredibly busy three days
because you've been the man running around to pretty much
every single thing that you could possibly do. You've seen

(20:58):
and done everything and shot you and everything like that.
So I have to applaud your ability to uh to
handle that many shows in this short period of time.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Thank you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
I did get out to h to Pirates Night last night,
which was a lot of fun. I mean it's it's
the same show that you would see on the other
Disney Cruise Line ships, but you don't miss a chance
to see fireworks at sea, right, Like that's that's like
the calling card of the entertainment on the Disney Cruise
Line ships. So definitely recommend doing Pirates Note. It's, by

(21:32):
the way, you might not know exactly what to expect
from Pirates Night. It's basically a giant rock concert and
just a big party out on the decks, so it's
it's a whole lot of fun. And then again fireworks
at sea, so you can't miss that.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah, and by the way, if you hear people talking
in the background, that happens to be Flynn Ryder in
Rapunzel from Tangles. I did not even uck up behind us,
and they're they're they're they're doing a meet and greet
right now.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
So that's really funny. I didn't even realize they're Rapunzel,
just the princess hanging with my right shoulder, which is
honestly the experience that I've had on this ship because
the characters are just popping up left and right. I
walked out of the Haunted Mansion parlor earlier and Belle
was there, just like walking by, just talking to people.
Oh okay, cool. So yeah, I had a lot of
really cool character experiences. There is a Maleficent show in

(22:19):
Saga that again I would say, don't miss I can't
remember the name of it that you would see pop
up in your navigator app but it's gonna come to
me at like a random time when we're talking about
something else later on. But yeah, really cool, like interactive
character experience where it's it's just Maleficent on stage talking
about how she's like recruiting us to define Prince Philip,

(22:39):
and she brings people on stage one by one kind
of insults them and then sends them away, and then
you get a chance to take your picture with later
on too, We've got to talk about Hercules.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
So absolutely the big.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Broadway style show on this ship, the Malana show on
the Treasurer. Absolutely loved it. It blew me away. I
came in like hoping that Hercules would be even close
to as good as Molana. It is. It's just as good.
I think I still prefer Mowana just because I like
the movie and the music a little bit better. But
I mean, the show is unbelievable. There's some really really

(23:15):
incredible puppets that like like Moana, and then the singing
and the dancing was off the charts, just so so good. Uh.
The performer who plays Hercules one of the best performers
I've seen in any show ever, and like including like
actual Broadway shows. So uh yeah, just really really incredible

(23:35):
talent on this ship.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Well I heard you didn't get enough songs to sing, Yeah, Troy,
that was Troy's thought. I can't.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Honestly, it's been such a long time since I've watched Hercules.
I can't think of any songs that they left out.
The song was, yeah, well, I mean go the distance.
He got to see he can go the distance and
a reprise as well, so you know he had he
had some some time for sure. I mean, I guess
Meg got a lot more of the spotlight too, And
of course Hades which haities is so much fun, so
I mean, yeah, it's it's also one of those things

(24:04):
that like it's not a full length Broadway show, like
it's what like forty five minutes, So yeah, you're gonna
have to cut back on some things. And yes, I
think that's a positive that given his talent, his level
of talent, he deserves to shine a little bit more.
But yeah, they you know, it's time constraints. You can
only do so much. I do have to talk about
one other experience I got to have too, which was

(24:24):
doctor Facilier's parlor. And I don't think we even got
a chance to talk about this yet.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
No, And I've heard, but I wanted to hear more
from direct from the horse's mouth.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah. Yeah, So this is a unique experience in that
you can't record any video, take any photos or anything.
So you won't see this on our YouTube channel YouTube
dot com slash YouTube travel.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Uh thank you plug a serendipitous blug right there.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
So what they do is they bring you into the
Disney Studio, which is just a little photo studio. It's
like a ten by ten room and maybe a little
bigger than that. Kind of shrunk it in my head
a little bit, but uh, doctor, they'll send you with
a group of like ten guests, like I think they
said eight to twelve. I think my group is about ten.
You walk in and doctor Facilier is just standing over

(25:07):
a card table, like just looming over it, head down,
and it is honestly scary, Like it's intimidating to walk
into that room when him just standing there.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
There's a little bit of drama to this show, yes, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
And so there's a cast member, like one of the
entertainment team, like holding the door open for you, but
she doesn't. She just keeps her head down, doesn't say
anything to you as you walk in, and then she
just lets the door slam shut on you once everybody's in,
and so Facilier then looks up gives you that big,
thunderous laugh, that big you know, grin, that scary grin,
and he singles out three people and he just goes

(25:39):
around just you you. You sit down. He has him
sit down at the table and then selects one of
them to do a intuition test, which is the kind
of senses the ability of intuition with a guest, and
then does a magic trick, a close up magic trick
that is. I still I have no idea how he
did it at this point. Still, but that is one

(26:00):
of the coolest character experiences I've had anywhere. And that
actually I've had a lot of people talk about they
they've been comparing this ship to the star Line or
the Galactic star Cruiser.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
That's the name.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Yeah, there you go. I could not come up with
the name of it. So yeah, a lot of people
have been comparing this experience to the Galactic Star Cruiser
and the character experiences you have on there. I never
got to experience that, so I'm I don't.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Did I I was close. Yeah, I'm still bitter about it.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Yeah, that is rough. You had it booked and it
was like, yes.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
I had it booked, Yeah, and they did not could
not rebook me in Fine Space because my mine was
in like November December, and they were only going into
the September for the end of it.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Yea, So we definitely both wish we got a chance
to experience the star Cruiser. And from what I'm hearing,
this is the closest thing to it. The character interactions
on this ship are you know, sporadic and random and
a whole lot of fun. So it's it's been a
really really cool experience on this ship that I think
he got a taste of on the Treasure and they

(27:03):
just turned it up to eleven on this ship.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
So going back to the Magic Show real quick, was
this like cardistry or did he do like tricks like
mentalism or something beyond like card.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
No, it was just it was like one card trick.
But he, you know, his showmanship took up a little
bit of time that the whole thing was about fifteen minutes,
but it was just one card trick, but it was
still it was done in such a way that it
was like, you know, here, you hold the cards, and
you lay out the cards and do whatever you want.
And basically what it was is he said, separate the
red and black cards, but face down, So he's just
laying them down and this is a guest doing this,

(27:36):
putting the cards wherever he wants, and then of course
he got one hundred percent of them, right, So still
don't know how he did. I'm sure there's somebody listening
that's like, well, this is how you do that trick.
I don't know. Don't spoil this for us, but yeah,
that was That was a really really cool experience, very cool.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
I like close up magic, especially when it's done really well.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yeah, oh me too, me too, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And
this was done really well. And then he stands up
at the end and he reaches out his hand to which,
you know, you don't shake doctor Facilia's hand, but he
held out his hand for the guests to shake, and
you know, the like cartoonish huge hands Doctor Facilia. This guy,
it's like they casted this guy out of the animated movie.

(28:15):
He looks just like him.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
They got him just because he had big hands. He
can't do magic?

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yeah yeah, well I don't know it does do big
hands make sleight of hand easier or harder? I'm not
going to be hard, but either way, this guy was
spot on. The voice, the look, everything, he was so
so good. So and that's been the case with all
of the characters I've interacted with, so that I think,
to me, is the star of this ship? I don't know,

(28:40):
what do you? What do you think? What is that?
What's been the the thing on this ship for you?

Speaker 2 (28:43):
The thing? I don't know. It's tough to pick out
the one thing because of this is kind of like
the you know, the It's greater than the sum of
its parts, right, I mean everything about the ship makes
up what the ship is. You know. I for me,

(29:04):
you know, I like spas, I like good like food,
I like entertainment, shopping, all of that stuff. And this
has a lot of great stuff on it. So it
would be tough for me to pick out just the
one outstanding thing that makes me say, this has its
shoulders my favorite ship of all time. I mean when
I put it together, you know, it gets to that
on the whole, my favorite Disney ship of all time.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
So I'll be honest too. I came into this thinking, like,
I kind of don't want to say it's my favorite
Disney Cruise Line ship because everyone I've gone on, like
I went on the Wish that was my first ship,
was like, okay, this is my favorite ship. I went
on the treasure, and I was like, okay, this is
better than the wish. And now I've gone on the destiny,
I'm like, okay, this is better than the treasure. I
think they keep one upping themselves.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Well, I liked it. It's bigger, right, So it is bigger,
you know, not by like, you know, thousands of tons
of small foot as you're right, but you know it
is bigger. It feels bigger. The ceilings are higher, it
feels like you're not you're not kind of cramped in here.
And it also smells really good. I mean, we're sitting
there in this lobby and it smells fantastic.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I don't know what it is either, but something does
smell really good right now.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
I don't even can I can tell you what kind
of what it smells like. It's very like lavender and
very sort of lavender citrusy, but it just smells fantastic.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
I'm glad you said lavender too, because that was what
came to mind for me, and I wasn't sure if
it was just the purple lighting kind of playing tricks
on my well.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
The light keeps changing, so you know, fair your light
will go brighter dimmer depending on where you are, but
in here, you know it's it's it's really purple right now.
Before it was very green.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
And it's also worth mentioning too that the when characters
appear in the main atrium, the lights will adjust to
their character. Yes, So Maleficent was on last night and
it was like this bright greenish hue like the staff
that she carries.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yeah, which was really really cool. It Lokey the same
thing that it was green again for Loki. But I'm
sure with Croella, who I didn't get a chance to see,
had like probably some red lighting out here for her.
The next thing I had on my list, by the way,
and you touched on your SPA experience a little bit,
but was there anything else about the the SPA that
you didn't get a chance? I mean, I've actually never
got a chance to experience senses on a Disney Cruise

(31:12):
Line ship and it looks amazing.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
I did not get a chance to go into the
rainforest area because of they were having some operating issues.
There's a shakedown cruise right, this is the first cruise,
so they weren't able to get that to let us
in there because some things weren't working. So you know,
it's it's like the sense of SPA a little bigger
than the other ones that I've been into. You know,

(31:34):
my massage technician was fantastic. She did a great job,
and she was incredibly you know, attentive to my needs
and kind of helped me like figure out what did
I want, how I wanted to enhance my massage.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
So nice. Yeah, I am overdue for experiencing a senses
uh SPA experience for sure. The uh, speaking of things
we didn't actually fully get to experience. The pools are
the same layout as the Wish and the Treasure, so
you got these smaller pools kind of separated around dex
eleven and twelve. Yeah, eleven and twelve. I believe I've

(32:10):
been running it down the stairs so much of lost
track at this point. But and then there is the
Aqua mouse on here, which does have a new storyline
through it. I have not gotten a chance to experience it.
Like you were saying about the Hunted Mansion parlor, it
was closed for you know, for like media videos and
things like that, so I didn't get a chance to
experience it. I guess there's still a chance, but I
don't I don't think so we're kind running out of.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Well has kind of a new light lighting package, doesn't it. Yeah,
light it's brand spanking new. It's all led. It's kind
of updated, modern and really really interesting to see.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah, it definitely is. I mean, and that kind of
you know, sums up the entire ship, like everything feels
brand new, Like there's just like a little bit upped technology,
and like everything everywhere you look, like every the lighting is,
you know, really really impressive. The sound is great. So
I mean, it's it's been a really really awesome experience
out the Disney Destiny. Yeah, I think I think that's it.

(33:05):
Although I do have one little surprise game and here
we go.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Are you gonna pick all my stuff this time?

Speaker 1 (33:12):
No? No, so we're not. We're not going to be
drafting or anything. I just because you know, we know
there's more Disney Cruise Line ships coming. We know the
Disney Adventure is around the corner as well. Uh, but
I was kind of curious, what do you think future
Disney Cruise Line ships will be called. We've already got
the Magic that Dream, the Wonder, Fantasy, Wish Treasure.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
I don't know. I mean, the marketing Department's got to
be running out of one words to describe how wonderful
the ships are, right, I mean, we've got the wonder right,
So you can't say it's the wonderful ship, right because
you can't play on any of that stuff, right mind.
I would say that it would be just off the
top of my head, Disney Galaxy, because I can't. You

(33:51):
could do a Star Wars team, Okay, I just want
to put that out there right now. I like, so
it could be the Disney Galaxy and it could have
all of the space stuff. It could be you know,
Star Wars team, have a Star Wars element to it,
if if it could ever license that, right, but that
would be kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah, I like that Disney Galaxy. I had a couple
in mind. I thought the Disney Journeys, like you know,
kind of goes along with the adventure. How about how
about we just go fully lean into the fact that
this experience is no longer available and we just call
it the Disney Quest.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
There you go, Disney Quest. That would be bad. Would
be bad. By the way, these are all trademarking copyrighted
by Parks and Passport, Yes incorporated. Any use or fact
similar of is strictly prohibited by laws.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Thank you for throwing the legal ease in there. I
would not have gotten any.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
I don't want Disney stealing our ideas that you have.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
To pay us for this stuff. Yeah, so uh yeah,
that was it. That was the game I wanted to
throw in there at the end.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
That wasn't too bad. Yeah, you could have get sprung
a couple of other games, like you know, we were
we were acing the Marvel Trivia last night. Yeah, in
the world of Marvels.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
So we haven't actually gotten a chance to do any
of the trivia because all of the entertainment options that
are normally on your Disney cruise are happy on this one.
But we've been running around as so many other things
that we haven't gotten a chance to do, stuff like
the The Truth, which is I and I miss my
Bingo too because I.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Love I love to do bingo because the last two
times I've played, I've actually won a prize and it
was the same price both times. It was a diamond
Pendit necklace.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
So oh that was.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Offered by or I think for Diamonds International, who sponsors
like the high End Watcher and stuff, and you can
check that out too. On my Facebook page. Oh cools
to travel with Eric Hiles. Nice.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
Well, speaking of uh, you know, plugging your your social media.
If people want to people want to book their next
Disney cruise with you, how can they reach out to you?

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Oh, they can always reach out to me on email

Speaker 1 (36:07):
But yeah, that's going to do it for for this episode.
Hopefully everything worked out. Hopefully the audio came through.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Okay, Well, you know.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
We will.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
We do our best with what we have. I mean,
we're in a very noisy environment. It was why when
we first got here. But now the ship is starting
to pick up and it's starting to get busy. So
you know, it's been a fantastic three days approaching you know,
fourth I guess you don't. I'm not going to count
for is that's a debar take. Yeah right, So, but
the last last three days been been awesome. It's been

(36:35):
pleasure hanging out with you here, my friend. It's good
to see you again.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
I'm glad we got to do this in person for
the first time. Yes, so that that's a cool experience
to be able to do this on a Disney cruise
as well.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Next time, we have to figure out a way to
get Brian in here. Y train is definitely missed.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, we definitely need to. I mean, this
is a couple episodes now without Brian, so Brian, we
are looking forward to getting you back on the show.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
And you're gonna have to to read a whole bunch
of menu items to get.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Ready for Yeah, I've been taking pictures of all of
the menus around the ship, so hope you're ready, Brian
viah that'll do it for us. Thanks again, everyone, We'll
see you all real soon.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Thank you, and goodbye.
