Man, bela'na start on that.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Thank god it's over with.

Speaker 1 (01:08):

everything we got to experience at Halloween Nights.

So you.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
For this episode, we have a very special guest joining us.
We have destinations of travel advisor Christy Gallagher.

Speaker 7 (01:31):
Hey Christy, Hey, guys, how are you this evening?

Speaker 1 (01:34):
We're good? We're good. How are you?

Speaker 8 (01:35):
I'm good?

Speaker 9 (01:36):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
So we're gonna have Christy on to discuss some dealing
with food limitations when visiting Walt Disney World. But before
we get to that, Christy, we got to let our
audience get to know you a little bit better. So
we're gonna put you through our lightning round questions.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Are you ready?

Speaker 7 (01:52):
I am ready?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
All right, Well, we'll start off with an easy one.
Favorite Disney Park.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
I'm gonna have to go with the Magic Kingdom classic? Yep.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
What about favorite Disney Attraction?

Speaker 10 (02:09):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (02:09):
I have a tie? Is that?

Speaker 7 (02:11):
Is that allowed? Sure? All right? So so it's always
been Flight of Passage, But since Guardians you mean to play,
I'm gonna have to go.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
With Guardians to So yeah, two great options and newer
options too. I like that, not to stick into the classics.
What about favorite Universal Park?

Speaker 7 (02:32):
So? How this one was.

Speaker 8 (02:33):
A hard one.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
I was, I was back and forth, and I'm gonna
have to say Universal Studios just because I think I
ride more attractions over there. I like more of the attractions.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
So yeah, no, that makes are we talking Florida or
Hollywood Florida? Okay, okay, Yeah, that's the park that I
visit far more than any other park in my life,
So that's that's a good choice.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
What about favorite Universal attraction?

Speaker 7 (02:58):
And I have to go with Hags this time. It
used to be the Forbidden Journey, but I'm mightna have
to go with Hagrids.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
It's great. Yeah, favorite theme park snack.

Speaker 7 (03:12):
I'm gonna have to go with the classic doll Whip.
It's probably I can't. I can't go to Disney without
at least having one, if not two or three.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
So yeah, you can't respect yourself if you don't do that.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Right where of our Snack Madness Tournament a few episodes.

Speaker 7 (03:29):
And anymore, I make sure I go to the Poly
to get the doll whip, so I try to do it.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Okay?

Speaker 8 (03:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Nice? Uh, favorite Disney or Universal restaurant?

Speaker 3 (03:41):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
You know what, We're gonna put this one on hold
because we're gonna be talking about Disney restaurants a little
bit later on in more detail, so we'll skip that one.
About favorite thing to do in a park that's not
a ride.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
So I would have to say the shows. I was
just in Disney a few weeks ago, and the New
Villain show is fantastic. Oh yeah, so I could probably
sit there all day and watch that show.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yeah, I absolutely loved it. The music is fantastic, It's
it's great.

Speaker 8 (04:11):
But then I.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
Also I was also like, oh, but see, I'm also one.
You're gonna call me a nerd, But that's okay. I
like the Hall of Presidents like that one of my favorites.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
All Right, you're actually you're not the first guest on
here to say that, so.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
But you are still a nerd.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
Hey, I'm right there with.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Brian's ad too.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, you fit in with the nerds here on this show.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
It's fine.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Favorite theme parky event.

Speaker 7 (04:44):
I'm gonna have to say, he's not so scared. Halloween
party is probably my favorite.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Good choice?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
What about favorite tip or trick to share?

Speaker 7 (04:54):
So I would have to say, if if he can
get up early, make sure you're at the park for
the rope drop, to get in as many rise as
you can before all the rest of the crowd gets there.
You could be amazed what you can have done by
the time the park opens.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
So yeah, especially if you get that early park admission
and you know all those extra little perks.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
So yeah, that that is a good one.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
And final question here, favorite non theme park vacation.

Speaker 7 (05:26):
I would have to go with the beach, you know,
just the normal, everyday relaxation, hanging out at the ocean.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Do you have a favorite beach?

Speaker 7 (05:35):
A yeah, you're asking hard questions.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Be sure.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I don't know that I have a favorite either.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
Pretty much, any beach just just to kind of chill and.

Speaker 8 (05:49):
Relax and just take in the the world as it is.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
No, that's that's a great I mean when people think vacation,
they think the beach for the most part. Yeah, most part,
you know, aside from the nerds on this podcast where
we automatically go to a theme park.

Speaker 9 (06:08):
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna object because West Coast beaches
and East Coast beaches are not.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
I did so, so I do have to say when
I was in California two years ago, I was made,
well not made, but I was allowed to go check
out the beach.

Speaker 8 (06:24):
I was able to step.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
In in the ocean and say that I was on
the other side.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
And immediately freeze.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
So yeah, I did a similar thing when I visited
San Francisco probably about ten to fifteen years ago at
this point.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
So I just went.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
It was like middle of the middle of the night.
I just went and touched the ocean, just like it'd say,
I touched ocean. Okay, so that's our lightning round. Let's
get into our main topic, which again is food restrictions.
And this is an interesting topic because you know, I
am I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with

(07:03):
any of what you deal with. Christy and I go
and you know, just don't even think about, you know,
all of the things that people might have to think
about when they visit Walt Disney World.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
So why don't you let the audience know what exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
It is you are dealing with when you are looking
at food options and in your Walt Disney World resort vacation.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
So I have been type one diabetic for forty two years,
and I have been celiac. I have to celiac disease
for about ten to twelve years now. So going on
vacation is very stressful anymore. But going to Disney, whether

(07:41):
it be Disney World or Disneyland, it makes my life
so much easier because they tend to cater to people
who have food allergies, and it makes life less stressful
when you're there.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I have noticed in recent
years especially Disney is really doing a great job of
providing those extra options for people with limitations, whether it's
celiac or diabetic, or vegan or whatever else. It may
be so many.

Speaker 7 (08:09):
That they make you know again, so you don't have
to worry about lug in a bunch of food in
and just what you're gonna eat and if you're gonna
be able to find something to eat, and it makes
life so much easier.

Speaker 9 (08:24):
Christy, I have a quick question, So do they actually
store that to your my Disney profile, so you.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Yeah, when you make your your dining reservations on your
My Disney experience, it will ask you if if anybody
in your party has a food allergy, and then it'll
list all the food allergies, and then I believe there's
also an other category because a lot of people have
more than one food allergy, so you can click they have,

(08:51):
you know, gluten, they have dairy, they have peanuts, they
have tree nuts, they have I believe vegetarian. They have
all the different types and then there's also an other,
so you put that on your dining reservation. So when
you check in for your your your reservation at the restaurant,

(09:12):
it is already stamped at the top of your receipt,
so that they know that somebody in your party has.

Speaker 9 (09:18):
A food allergy.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
And then then what happens.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
So then when they take you to your table, the
server will come over and they will ask who has
the food allergy and what food allergy it is. They
have recently have created the allergy menus, so they have
the hard copy of the allergy menu, and then it'll

(09:42):
have the list of all the different foods and then
you look on like so like if the entree is chicken, whatever,
it'll tell you what food allergy that entree is good for.

Speaker 8 (09:57):
So it'll list.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
Like fish, gluten, peanut, you know, dairy da da da
da da. So then you are able to find out
which of the entrees you're able to eat. Now, should
you have any concern because you have more than one allergy,
you can always ask to speak with a chef and
they will bring the chef out if you know, if

(10:21):
you need to further explain your allergy situation.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
So are you very interesting thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, are you are you finding with these allergy menus?
Is it typically like completely different offerings or is it
something from the normal menu with one ingredient.

Speaker 7 (10:38):
It's usually something from the normal menu, And like if
you have a question about certain things, sometimes they could
make some of the other items that may not be
listed on the allergy menu into an allergy friendly menu,
Like for the Primetime Cafe, they make gluten free fried chicken,

(11:02):
but they ask that like an hour or so before
your reservation if you're going there and you have a
reservation and you want their fried chicken to go and
let them know so that it is ready by the
time your reservation is Wow, it takes a little bit
longer for that to be made.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Okay, interested, Yeah, So that kind of leads into my
next question. Then, do you have any like general tips
that you would give to guests dealing with these issues
when they visit Walt Disney World.

Speaker 7 (11:33):
So my main thing is, again, if you're a little
like if you order and something comes out and you're
just not thinking that it looks right and you're afraid
to eat it, or you have a question about something
on the menu, always ask to speak with a chef
because they are more than willing and more than helpful

(11:54):
to answer any of your food related questions, and they
are able to help you no matter what. You know,
what you want to be made for you so that
you have a decent meal to eat along with the
rest of your party.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
So with that being said, you know, we're we're gonna,
we're gonna get into a more restaurant focused discussion a
little bit later. Our game is a draft of Walt
is the World Restaurants, just to tease that for the future.
But so, without spoiling all of your draft picks, what
are some of your favorite places to eat that really
do a good job of catering to to these allergies?

Speaker 7 (12:32):
Well, and it would be all of my restaurants probably.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Give us one or two.

Speaker 10 (12:37):
So let me tell you.

Speaker 7 (12:38):
Let me tell you. So, I live in Pennsylvania and
we're not quite like in there. A lot of the
restaurants aren't really allergy friendly around here. So going to
a buffet around here in Pennsylvania is probably not the
easiest for me to do because there's just so much

(12:59):
cross contempt, and going to a buffet in Disney, I
don't have to worry about that because if I have questions,
and I've had the chefs come out and actually literally
walk me around the buffet and tell me what I
can't eat and what I cannot eat. And at the

(13:19):
one restaurant, we got to the dessert part of the
buffet and the chef said, you can eat a lot
of this on that is available here in the buffet,
but I would prefer that you tell your server when
you're ready for dessert, because I'd like to send that
out separately because there's more cross contamination on a dessert

(13:40):
part of the buffet than there is on the main
part of the buffet.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
That's really cool to hear how attentive they are and
you know how much they really care.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
I was very surprised, and a lot of people they're like,
you're going to Disney again, Like aren't you. I'm like, no,
I can like relax and actually have a vacation when
I'm at Disney because I don't have to worry about
everything that I'm eating, because if I eat something that

(14:10):
has any gluten or has touched anything gluten, like I'm
down for to count, you know what I mean, Like
it's it's not good, So.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
So you you said your favorite Walt Disney World snack
is a dull whip or favorite seam Park snack is
a dull whip. But what are some of the other
ones that you can safely go and enjoy?

Speaker 7 (14:32):
So I have been introduced to the wonderful churros at
the Nomad Lounge, which are gluten free and they are
like a staple of every visit that I go to.

Speaker 8 (14:45):
So that is one.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
And Mickey, the regular Mickey ice cream Bar. They are
gluten freme. And one of my favorites at the Flower
and Garden Festival is the fruitshy.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's a popular choice.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
And I've noticed now like a lot like I actually
because I'm going to be headed to Disney next month,
No October, I'm thinking we're in September already, but October.
So I was actually starting to look at they have
their starting to put the menus out for the Food
and Wine Festival, and I go in and search like

(15:24):
food and Wine allergy menus. It'll pop up in and
I'll tell you which each little kiosk if there's anything
that would be like gluten free or you know, dairy
free or peanut free and that kind of stuff for
people to be able to eat from the extra little
a la carte carts throughout the World Showcase?

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Very cool?

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Anything else that we haven't asked? Brian, Brian, Eric, Do
you guys have any other questions for Christy?

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Brian, you go first.

Speaker 10 (15:55):
I'm gonna be honest, I really don't have any questions
at this time.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
It's tough. No, it is for us because you know,
it's like if we don't have to.

Speaker 8 (16:09):
Worry about it now.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
I do have to say as far as the diabetes
aspect go. Now, like I belong to a lot of
Disney diabetes like groups on Facebook and such, eating as
a diabetic at Disney is not as easy because they
don't provide the restaurants don't provide carbohydrate counts for their

(16:31):
men and stuff like that. So a lot of it
is guestimating and hoping that you're okay. But when you're
walking ten miles a day, you're like you're able to
figure it out. So because I've been so many times,

(16:52):
I've been able to kind of like figure out what numbers,
what like dosage numbers work best for me.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, with you how much you're walking in the heat,
you're probably low more often than you are hot. Right,
So yeah, yeah, that makes sense. Eric, did you have
something else?

Speaker 9 (17:09):
Yeah, I actually, well I did not a question, but
just I can relate to what what Christy has seen
and his experience.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I've got a good friend.

Speaker 9 (17:17):
Of mine whose son is very allergic to foods like
gary eggs, cheeses.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Things like that, and I have seen like the chefs
come out.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
And actually have a conversation with them, and they're very
they you know, note everything on the checks or like
when they're piping into the computer so that when it
goes back to the kitchen that they can see everything
in there.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
And then the chef comes out and has.

Speaker 9 (17:41):
A you know, a very detailed conversation, walks them through
what menu items are safe, what you know they should avoid,
what they should they're good with, et cetera.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
So it's very well.

Speaker 7 (17:52):
Yeah, And like I said, nowadays they have a lot
of those allergy menus, whereas like a couple of years ago,
when I would go, it was like right away the
chef would come to the table and be like, Okay,
what do you see on that menu that you would
like to try? Like I was in Mom and Melrose
once and they're like what not because sometimes it's hard

(18:13):
to eat and an Italian restaurant because sometimes that they
don't have gluten pasta stuff like that, then it's really hard.
Or if they don't have gluten free pizza, then there's
not really much else you could eat. And I was like,
I asked about the flatbread pizzas He's like, okay, it'll
be out in like fifteen minutes, and it was like
it was and it was delicious, So like.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yeah, yeah, very cool.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, it's it's cool to hear that. You know that
attention to detail applies to this as well, that Disney
is known for and that the cast members really go
the extra mile for you. So, uh, is there anything
else that we're that we're missing that that you'd like
to share on this topic, Christy, I don't think so.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
I think again, as you know, if you have or
if you're a parent, or you yourself have an allergy,
just always advocate for yourself and ask questions, especially if
you're unsure or you're feeling a little weary of eating
what is in front of you.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
So absolutely, and if our listeners have any other questions
or want to book their Walt Disney World resort vacation
with you, Christy, where can they reach out to you?

Speaker 7 (19:21):
You can reach out to me. My email is Christy
Gallagher at d the number two travel dot com.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
And you'll see Christy's name in the in the description,
so you'll have the spelling. Everything will be there in
the episode description.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
There so and that and that's Christie with the cave and.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Yes, yeah, yeah, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Reach out to Christy if you're going to start planning
your your Walter's World resort vacation and you have any
food allergy questions. All right, let's jump into some news.
There's kind of a lot of it to talk about
from the past couple of weeks.

Speaker 9 (19:54):
So, uh, I'm feeling overwhelm. You'll see amount of Disney
news that we have an issues.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, there's there's a lot to talk about here, and
there's gonna be more because there's just so much going
on with Disney right now. Uh So, let's start with this.
As of this episode's release, the Beacon Barrel is now open.
Uh So you can get a first look at the
interior of this amazing new Pirates themed bar in Magic Kingdom.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Over on chipinco dot com.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
By the way, you can read more about all of
these headlines over on chip chippin coompany dot com. Did
you guys get a chance to see the exclusive Pirate
Skull mug? Like this special tiki mug that they're given
out or not giving out, but is available for purchase
at Beacon Barrel.

Speaker 10 (20:32):
I didn't didn't get to see the mug, No, but
I did get to see the inside.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
Look at the place. It looks nice.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Inside, it looks really cool. Yeah, everybody that not to brag.

Speaker 9 (20:44):
I actually saw both and they looked very The mug
looks very cool and and I'll really like this the
singing parrots.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
So take that, Brian.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
I know I'll get a mug for you.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Do Oh, I might get a.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Rug before both of you guys. So we'll find out.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
I will be going to Beacon Barrel very soon. I'm
undecided on the mug yet, but so we will have
a look at Beacon Barrel on our YouTube channel YouTube
dot com slash D two travel in the near Future.
I'm really excited for it. Everything I've been hearing is
just awesome. So looks really cool. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios,
The Little Mermaid, a musical Adventure, which recently reopened, was

(21:26):
just added to the Lightning Lane multi pass. It is
a tier two attraction, which I haven't really looked at
the tiers of Lightning Lane.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I don't use Lightning Lane very often.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
I didn't realize how the Tower of Terror is is
tier two, Like that's the same tier as Little Mermaid.
That's guys, get get Tower of Terror if you're going
to Lightning Lane.

Speaker 7 (21:49):
I mean, I'm a big Little Mermaid fan, but I'm
going with the Tower of Tear two.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Here you go, Christy, Okay, here's one for your for
you Disney words. Uh, tom Morrow two point oho is back.
We got the return of the Imagineer that series on YouTube.
Did you guys get a chance to see this?

Speaker 6 (22:09):
Eric?

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I feel like I don't know what it is, just
something about you screams Tommorrow two point oh fan.

Speaker 9 (22:17):
I am a fan of Tommorrow and you know mister
Johnson as well, right, But I have not seen this yet,
and because I kind of suck, so I'm looking forward
to seeing it.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
But you know, I'm not up on my my nerder
rama for this.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
This this particular, it's it's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
I actually don't really remember the imagineer of that series.
I guess it ran on Disney Channel what early two thousands?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
I was not.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
I didn't grow up watching Disney Channel, so I missed that.
But now it's on you to this.

Speaker 10 (22:47):
New You do remember it, Brian, I vaguely remember it.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
I vaguely remember it.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
What about you, Christy?

Speaker 8 (22:55):
I I don't.

Speaker 7 (22:56):
I didn't. We didn't have the Disney Channel when.

Speaker 8 (22:58):
As the kids.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, yeah, I, like I said, didn't didn't grow up
watching it.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
But this new you know, the the revival of.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
This series on YouTube is is pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
I recommend checking out.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
There's a lot of little like they talk about what
goes into like coming up with the idea for a
Disney attraction, and so there's a lot of little Easter
eggs and like you looks at some of the attractions
that we know are coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
So it's a fun one of those little like you
kind of slowly clicked through the video and look at
the freeze frames, try and pick out little details. It's

(23:32):
a it's a fun show. Do you check that out
on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel Over in Epcot
Spaceship Earth is currently closed for refurbishment through at least
October twenty fourth, so that's as we don't have a
firm reopening date, but it will be closed for at
least that long, so it's gonna be a little while.
So if you're visiting Epcott anytime soon, Christy, I know

(23:54):
you said you're coming to Walt Disney World in October,
so it might be missing out on Spaceship Earth unfortunately.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
Well, well we'll just have to wait to see what
kind of excitement they have.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
To Yeah, I'm sure they're retracked in the entire.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, I don't expect any huge changes, but but yeah,
it is gonna be close for a pretty extended time.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Here.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
There was a little like media event that Disney held
where they they kind of released a lot of new
looks at some of their attractions, including a new look
at the Muppet themed rock and roller coaster, which it's
mostly just concept hard You can check this all out
on Chip and Company again. But so, yeah, I'm excited.
What do you guys think of this? The Muppets themed

(24:42):
I don't think we talked about this at all in
any previous episode, So how do you feel about the
Muppets rock and Roller coaster.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
I'm hesitant, but I'm hopeful, you know, Okay.

Speaker 10 (24:53):
I thought it would be a different like an like
a different like a band that we've taken over rock
and Roller Coaster other than Muppets, But they I feel
like they've got a pretty good.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
Shot at this, So I'm I'm.

Speaker 10 (25:06):
Skeptical, but I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 6 (25:08):
Nonetheless, No, I get.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
It, yeah kind of.

Speaker 9 (25:13):
I'm in the sense, you know, they're not going to
really like change the right experience that.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Much, right, So.

Speaker 9 (25:26):
Yeah, I mean that Aerosmith, you know, it was a
big fan of air Smith back in the day and
all of that stuff. But I don't know, it doesn't
really matter to me that you know which band is
hosting the coaster, just as long as the coaster is
still cool.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, And I think the coaster, like you said, will
be pretty much the same experience. I'm a I'm a
Muppets fan, and I think, you know, losing Muppet vision
but having Muppets moved to rock and Roller coaster and
then us getting the Monster's incland I think it's a
net win.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
So I'm all on board with this.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Christy, what do you.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
What do you think? Are you Muppets fan?

Speaker 7 (25:58):
I'm I'm a big Muppets fan, so I'm very intrigued
to see how they're gonna do this. I will miss Aerosmith,
I like, I like you know the way it is now,
but intrigued to see how they're gonna pull us one off.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Yeah, I'm interested.

Speaker 9 (26:13):
It's kind of an obscure like Muppets sing, right, I
mean Doctor t yeah, Electric Primetime Muppet things.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (26:22):
So it's it's it's an interesting choice. Hey, we need
a band. Oh wait that band?

Speaker 7 (26:29):
Right?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Okay, right, I mean we will see the other Muppets too,
but you're right, it is like that they're the musicians
that we are going to see in this this story here,
so and again you can check out that concept art
on the company.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
Like, sorry ahead, Eric.

Speaker 9 (26:43):
I was just say they could have picked like love
Handle from Phineas and Ferd Bowling for Soup.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Right, Bowling for Soup is playing Epcot, So you know,
there you go.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
There's there's energy there.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
We also got a first look at the new ride
vehicles for light Year Space Ranger Spin at this same event.
I'm excited for that revamp of that attraction that looks
really cool. We also got new concept art and description
for Big Thunder Mountains. So Big Thunder has been closed
for a long time and it's still gonna be eat
a little while before it reopens here in the in

(27:18):
the Magic Kingdom. So here's the new story they give
on the Walt Disney World site. The story of Big
Thunder Mountain Railroad begins with Barnabas te boullion struck. When
Barnabas tea bullion struck gold in the Big Thunder region
one day, strange and unexplainable things started happening. No matter
how deep the miners dug into the heart of the mountain,
the forces of Big Thunder fought back.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
So it's like people are talking.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
About it like, oh, it's kind of a creepy vibe
to it, And you can see the concept art has
like a red glow.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
It looks interesting.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I'm very excited for Big Thunder Mountain to be back
in general, just because you know, having that big attraction
is always better than not having a big attraction. But
I also I like this new story and how it
kind of feels like it almost ties into the villain's
land that will come pretty close by eventually, So I'm
excited for this.

Speaker 9 (28:09):
I'm just wondering if they're going to change the theme
song because you know, Big Center Mountain Railroad has its
own song that tell.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Us the story of thunder Grew that they do. So, yeah,
so I have.

Speaker 9 (28:22):
Left us to clean into that. We're going to revise that,
et cetera.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
What is a good question, great, and that's Bryan's department.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Well, no, we don't want to get a copyright claim
because I'm sure you're singing would be so perfect that
it would immediately flag us, So we don't want.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
To if auto tuned.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
All right, let's talk about some Disneyland news.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
First off, easy enough, twenty twenty six Disneyland packages are
now on sale. Talk to your Destinations to Travel adviser
about booking your twenty twenty six Daisyland vacation, Eric Christy.
The people will be reaching out to you.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
I'm sure there is also booked mine already.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
I feel like you always have one book.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
I was gonna say, I think you always have one
on the books.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
Yeah, I have to.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
There's also a discounted one day, one park Disneyland ticket
available for specific days in August and September, So if
you're wanting to visit Disneyland very soon, I.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Check out Hollyween Halloween Time at Disneyland.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
It is a one hundred and four dollars ticket, so
pretty good deal for visiting Disneyland. Also weirdly specific one
hundred and four dollars. I'm not sure why that is
the number, but yeah, so another good deal for visiting
Disneyland if you are visiting. Though. In twenty twenty six,
Early entry for Disneyland Resort hotel guests has been removed

(29:39):
starting or will be removed starting in twenty twenty six. Man,
come on, I'm curious. I was curious to get the
thoughts on this because I don't know. I guess Eric,
Are you somebody who typically uses the early entry offering.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
On selected days when I haven't stayed up too late?

Speaker 4 (29:57):
But yes, sure, yeahs and.

Speaker 9 (29:59):
Haven't close to park down at midnight. But yeah, I've
used it. I thought it was a great perk. I
get why they're doing this, but I don't think I'm
a fan.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Well, so how do you feel about the trade off then?
Because instead of early entry, guests staying at a Disneyland
resort hotel will receive a lightning link access for one
attraction per night of their stay, so every day that
you go into a Disney Park you will have one
lightning lane. So basically, I mean, I guess it depends
on the attraction you use it for. But with the
early entry, you're probably unless you're really hustling, you're probably

(30:31):
only knocking out one attraction.

Speaker 9 (30:32):
Anyway, Right well before, when it was an hour early entry,
I could easially knock out three attractions.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Sure, I guess it depends only because.

Speaker 9 (30:40):
Of just the crowds were low. But you know now
that then they reduced it to a half hour, so
it became tougher to do that. So if you're comparing
a half hour early entry to a lightning Land experience.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Sure it's secretable, but I don't know, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I'm a little disappointed by that.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
So yeah, I get it.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
I mean, it's not just the getting on the attraction,
it's it just it's about being in the park with
the lesser crowds. That's it makes for those magical early
morning moments.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
But plus the likes of.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Rub in people's faces because they have to walk.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
Through them, like hotel guests coming through.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Vip just the Wayne World holding up the vi P.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Exactly.

Speaker 10 (31:21):
No, Mike, did they say there's any restrictions on which
attractions so they could choose.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Or I have not seen anything like that, although I'm
sure there will be, Like I don't I don't expect
it to work the rise of their resistance, you know,
or uh, well, I guess I don't know what what.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Would be.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
I don't know, maybe maybe Radiator Springs it doesn't work
for I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
But no attractions to have the letter are and then.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
That's all of that interesting interesting experiment going through and
find any attraction without the letter are. So yeah, that
is uh, that'll be interesting to see. I'm curiously see
the feedback on that. In twenty twenty six Speaking of
radiotor Springs Racers, that is also closed for refurbishment until
September twenty sixth, So you got most you know, about

(32:10):
a month actually of this attraction being closed. And that
is sort of the big attraction in Disney California Adventure.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
So that's something to.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Keep in mind if you are visiting DCA or you know,
Disneyland Resort in general in the next month or so.
This one I thought was really interesting also specifically for Disneyland.
Now this does not apply to Star Wars Galaxies ed
in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, but Disneyland's
Oga's CANTEENA is no longer using reservations.

Speaker 4 (32:38):
It's just walk up now, which I thought was really interesting.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
This was the thing, the reservation that was so hard
to get a while back.

Speaker 9 (32:46):
Yes, absolutely, and it's about time as they actually did this,
because getting that like nine thirty ten am reservation and
starting the date drinking at that time of the day
was a little ross. Now I can go, I'm in
the evening when it's appropriate to go.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Right right, No, My my first Beacon barrel reservation that
I got was for ten thirty in the morning, and
I was like, oh no, that's not what I want
to do, but I mean I'll do it.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Yeah, it's rough. It makes the day a little harder.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Well, so I'm planning accordingly, right right, Oh yeah, definitely
changes your plans for sure. What do you think the
lines where the queue will be like to get into
ocaus Though you think we're going to see some long waits.

Speaker 9 (33:34):
Hit to be virtual, I think we'll see some waste
during you know, the evening hours when naturally you want
to drink right, not not in the morning, not like
breakfast beers in the morning. But yeah, so it's uh,
it'll be interesting. I'm sure they'll manage it through the
Disneyland app and you'll, you know, do the walk up

(33:55):
reservation type thing and they'll give you a time and
you know when you can come back that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Well, we're gonna need you to actually, I know, Brian
or Christy, are you guys visiting the Disneyland resort anytime soon?

Speaker 8 (34:08):
I'm hoping to, but not anytime soon right now?

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Okay, got well, now, Eric will rely on you to
report back on this.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Then I will be there in November.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Sounds good. Yeah, yeah, that's before the rest of us.
I'm sure last piece of Disneyland news, Haunted Mansion holiday
has returned.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
I just wanted to mention it because I am so
jealous of anybody who gets to experience it. J Yeah, exactly,
I would. I went my first like three trips at Disneyland.
We're all in February, and it was always like a
week after they closed it, so I just missed it
every single time. So I need to get out there
at some point to experience this. We'll jump over to

(34:52):
some Universal news before we move on to our game here,
and we're gonna start off with some Epic Universe news.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
Specifically, Harry Potter.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
And the at the Ministry and Donkey Kong Mindfard Madness
were recently added to the Express Pass at Epic Universe,
which I mean, wow, feels kind of crazy that they
weren't included in the Express Path before, but they have
been added now, so that opens it up, you know,
for everything release for Express Pass at Epic Universe, which

(35:20):
makes it a pretty good value because I mean that
park has been very busy lately from what I've been seeing.
So I will be going back finally in late September,
so I will actually it's technically early October, I think
its October first, so I will report back on how
Epic Universe is looking for sure. But yeah, those two

(35:40):
attraction being added to Epic Universe or the Express Pass
definitely a big deal for a lot of guests visiting.
And then we also got the soundtrack of the Dark
Universe that is now streaming, so I had the They
released the limited edition vinyl when the park first opened.
I've been listening to it NonStop anyway. But it is
now also available on wherever you stream your music, and

(36:03):
that includes music from legendary composer Danny Elfman.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
So pretty cool.

Speaker 9 (36:10):
But have you ripped the vinyl to an MP three
so you taken a blade in your car yet?

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I have not.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
I actually do have a friend that did and he
sent it to me. But again, now the music is.

Speaker 9 (36:19):
Streaming, anyone cheater, But yeah, Marks and podcast is not
endorsed piracy in any.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Way, ship or form.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Right, and again the music is streaming, so at this point, why.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Would you even do it?

Speaker 1 (36:36):
We have some Eric, are you ready? Are you ready
for this?

Speaker 4 (36:38):
We have some Halloween horror nice news to discuss.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Really get nice. This is interesting though, so Halloween hard.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
It can't wait for I cannot wait for November.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Alleen nor Knights in Orlando has introduced the Deathly Afraid necklace,
which is going to be twenty dollars plus tax, and
it will indicate to scare actors that you are looking
for a less intense experience. So basically the idea is
you're walking around the scare zones in the streets, the
scaracters see that you're wearing this necklace. They're not going
to get up in your face. They're not going to
chase you down the street. They're going to kind of

(37:10):
hang back a little bit. You'll still it's not a
guarantee that you're not going to get scared, but it
will kind of lessen the intensity of the experience. So
I'm curious for twenty bucks.

Speaker 9 (37:22):
It better keep people away from them, And they don't
have it out here in Hollywood, so I'm kind of screwed.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Yeah, it is only in Orlando right now.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Christy, I haven't asked you yet. We talked about Halloween
Haar Knights a few times. Now, how do you feel
about Halloween Hart Knights.

Speaker 8 (37:37):
Well, so we are.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
We will be going to Halloween Hart Knights when I'm
there in October. I am not a very big horror fan,
but I take one for the team and I go
in and experience so I can tell my guess what
they need to expect while they're there.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
So very question. That's dedication.

Speaker 11 (37:56):
Yeah, Like I do have to say, I enjoy more
of the original houses made the Universal Team more than
the other ones, So.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Very nice.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Yeah, I have to be careful because I will thank you,
thank you for taking on.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
I appreciate that because I'm in.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
The same boat with you, and Eric is going for
the first time over in Hollywood this year, so I'm
excited to hear his thoughts. But I have to be
careful because we will flip into a Halloween hard Knight's
rabbit hole. And again, we have discussed this at length recently,
so I do want to mention one more thing about
the Deathly Afraid necklace. Though, it is not going to
change the experience in the haunted houses.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
So the haunted houses are the.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Intense experience of Halloween horror nights that won't impact anything,
So just keep that in mind. If you buy that,
it's only going to change your experience in the streets
and the scare zones.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Just getting that out there.

Speaker 9 (38:52):
Okay, let's try an experiment. Can you run over and
buy me one? Send it said X, and I'll wear
it to Hollywood and works.

Speaker 6 (39:00):
I mean, that's a good experiment.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
I would bet it would not work because the scare
actors working in Hollywood probably haven't seen it and don't
know anything about it, so they're probably still just gonna
get in your face and scare you anyway.

Speaker 9 (39:12):
But okay, like hold it in their faces like a
big old you know, guardly bail or something to.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
Keep the vampires. They're gonna look at it and they
go hah.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Yeah, and then they're gonna rev their chainsaw at you.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Is this guy? Let's get him exactly?

Speaker 1 (39:29):
Speaking of hard Knights in Hollywood, though, we also learned
that I mean Patrick mentioned in the last episode that
there was gonna be one more announcement coming, and that
is Chainsaw Man the Chaos. Apparently this is a very
popular anime series. I have never seen it myself, but
it is going to be a show in the DreamWorks
Theater for Halloween r Knight, so it seems pretty cool.

(39:49):
And Universe of Hollywood has been doing some stuff with
with popular animes with going back to the fan Fest nights,
so there's definitely an audience for it out there, and
I'm interested to see what that experience is like. Eric,
this one should interest you. Last piece of news here
we have to discuss. One of the great things about
Halloween Hah Knights is that there's special food and drinks

(40:09):
available and Universal Studios Hollywood is introducing the HHN Dining Pass,
which is going to be sixty five dollars plus tax.
It includes two entrees and then four side snacks, desserts
or beverages, so you can sample a bunch of the
special menu offerings for Halloween har Knights this year. Is
this something you'll you'll think you'll take them up on?

Speaker 9 (40:31):
Well, my question will be how many of those entres
have to be brains?

Speaker 1 (40:36):
What's funny? Is?

Speaker 4 (40:37):
I mean, you're probably not wrong.

Speaker 9 (40:38):
But yes, I will take Yeah, I know exactly it's
going to I'm going to go there.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
I will get this pass.

Speaker 9 (40:44):
I'm sure they're going to give it to us as
part of the event. We're going and I'm going to
roll in and sit down and have some brands.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
They've done a really good job of making food that
looks and sounds gross, but it's actually really, really delicious.
So I'm excited for the Halloween Hard Knight's food here
in Orlando. I'm sure Hollywood's gonna have some really great
stuff too. It should also be mentioned that when you
purchase this pass, it is valid only on the date
of purchase, or if you buy it online in advance,
you choose a specific date that it will be valid for,

(41:14):
so you can't buy it and save it if you're
going multiple times throughout the event.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
Okay, that does this for our news.

Speaker 6 (41:21):
Catch.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
Oh, he's a catch. That's it for our news.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Let's get into our game here, and we we want
to make sure we give plenty of time for this
game because we are going to be drafting our favorite
Walt Disney World resort restaurants. And I mean, I don't
know about you guys, but I was, you know, getting
ready for this. I was putting together a list of
some of my favorites, and like every three seconds, I
was just like, oh, I got to include that one,
got include that one. Next thing, I know, I have
a list of like twenty five restaurants. We're gonna be

(41:46):
doing four rounds, so we'll only be drafting a total
of sixteen, so we'll definitely have some honorable mentions at
the end, I'm sure.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
But this is going to be a.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Snake draft here. So Christy is gonna start us off,
and then it'll be Brian and then Eric and then me,
and then second round we will snake back and I
will pick first and so on, and I'll well, we'll
talk through it as we go. But Christy, we have
withheld the information about your favorite Disney restaurants during our
conversation earlier, what is if you have you can pick anyone.

(42:16):
Every single restaurant is on the board right now, what
is your number one Walt Disney World resort restaurant.

Speaker 7 (42:21):
I'd have to go with Liberty Tree Tavern.

Speaker 9 (42:24):
Oh okay, that's a good one, classic in that once
on the menu.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
Oh nice, that's good. Yeah, that's that's a big factor.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
And yeah, obviously Christy is going to be looking at
these restaurants a little bit differently than than the rest
of us, so that'll be really interesting as well. Okay,
Liberty Tree Tavern not what I would have guessed for
the for the first pick, but I mean, you know, again,
Christy's looking at things a little bit differently, and I
do know it's very popular.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
I know, I know Shannon loves it, for sure.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
He does. I do too, honestly.

Speaker 7 (42:58):
Really good to say, your mom one who introduced me
to that restaurant, so.

Speaker 6 (43:03):
She really.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Well, Brian, you are up now everything but Liberty Tree
Tavern is on the board.

Speaker 10 (43:11):
All right, I'm gonna go Wither Steakhouse.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Oh yeah, that's that's.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Why you always do that to me, Brian.

Speaker 6 (43:21):
You always see.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Lecelier, I think is at the top of my list
for restaurants that I have not yet eaten at, which
I think we talked about on a previous episode.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
We did talk about that. I almost forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
Yeah, I need, I need to get to SLI.

Speaker 4 (43:33):
See.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
The problem is next time I'm going to have pot
is the start of food and wine, right, so I'm
gonna eat at all of the food and wine booth.
So but yeah, eventually I will get there. To tell Alier,
I'm sure. And so, I mean, any particular reason is it?
Is it just really great steak.

Speaker 10 (43:48):
It's really good steak. It's really it's it's so good. Honestly,
the food quality is spectacular. It's just the dying experience
as a whole is just great. I've never had an
issue there once, not not once.

Speaker 4 (44:07):
Yeah, I will.

Speaker 1 (44:08):
I will be eating there at some point, I'm sure.
All right, Eric, you are up now that brian'sok.

Speaker 4 (44:12):
Your first pick?

Speaker 5 (44:15):
Oh, it was that your first pick for that on
a door let's see space twenty.

Speaker 4 (44:22):
Yeah, that's on my list. That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Yeah, obviously is.

Speaker 5 (44:27):
Where else can you go have dinner in space?

Speaker 3 (44:32):
That's true?

Speaker 6 (44:33):
That is true, and the food.

Speaker 9 (44:34):
The food is fantastic, is right, and you know you
can have you can have the same experience sitting at
the bar that you can and you know, having a
window seat all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
I mean, the food's right there, so you.

Speaker 9 (44:45):
Don't necessarily you can you can kind of sneak in
the back door, per se up the Space elevator.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
To get into the bar without having a reservation.

Speaker 9 (44:55):
And you know that that lobsters say there is just
out of this world. Literally, I never tried the well
done a favor well done.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
I didn't try the Lopster. I'm gonna have to get
that next time I go. But yeah, I love Space
two twenty.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
It is one.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
It's one of those restaurants that, like, you know, you
think of places like the Rainforest Cafe or something not
to not for the Rainforest Cafe to catch strays in
this conversation, but it's it's the atmosphere, right, Like that's
what is cool, what's cool about it. But it's really
nice when the food even actually I think goes past
the atmosphere, like the food is so good and.

Speaker 5 (45:25):
It matches or yeah, so's the atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
It's Stratapuric, which had mentioned by the way, So Liberty
Tree Tavern. I mean those of you listening are you're
probably familiar with all these restaurants, probably know where they are.
But Liberty Tree Tavern can be found in Magic Kingdom.
And now back to back Epcot restaurants, Lacelier and Space
two twenty. Okay, I am up now and I have
back to back picks here, and so I'm going to

(45:50):
go with this is this is so hard. I was
hoping you guys would have narrowed down my list a
little bit more for me, But I think I'm going
to go with a duo both at Disney Springs because
I say this all the time in my dus no no, no,
this is my my two pick, my first round pick,
and my second round pick here my so my first one.
I say this all the time in my live streams

(46:11):
Chef Art Smith's Homecoming. That is my favorite restaurant, not
my favorite restaurant Walt Disney World, my favorite restaurant period
anywhere in the world. So wow, fried chicken is the
best any place that has a menu that has fried
chicken and donuts on it, like, not separately. That that's
one dish, fried chicken and Donuts. You've got me. I'm
in one hundred percent so Chef Art Smith's homecoming absolutely delicious.

(46:35):
And then we'll kick off the second round. Like I said,
Snake Draft, We're going back the reverse order here and
I'm going to stay at Disney Springs.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
I'm just gonna go a few I don't know, a
couple hundred feet away to the boat House.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
That is another one of my favorite restaurants. I'm not
even the big seafood guy, but they their food. Everything
I've had ad at the boat House is incredible, and
the atmosphere is awesome. It's just a really fun place
to hang out, especially if you get a seat outside
looking over the water on a nice cool night.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
Just top tier, knighted by the sun coming off the
lake night.

Speaker 4 (47:15):
That's why I said night.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
You got to give it a little bit, a little
bit of time, but yeah, the boat House, absolutely love it.
So yeah, back to back Disney Springs restaurants for me
and Eric. We are back to you. Okay, I'm going
to say in the Disney Springs.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
Latif Oh interesting.

Speaker 9 (47:35):
I'm gonna go with tying back into my greeting at
the top of the podcast with Jose Flanders. It's a
restaurant by Jeff jose Address called Hello. I haven't gotten
to especially a special astop As Galore. Yeah, it's like
the most amazing tapas. The payea there is so outstand
they actually you know, ring the triangle gong.

Speaker 5 (47:58):
Sing when when it up there for four five minutes.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Man, And if you can go there on a night when.

Speaker 5 (48:03):
They have the pork Belly special, it.

Speaker 1 (48:05):
Will change your life. You had me at pork Belly Special.
I don't even need to know any more details about that.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
I'm in.

Speaker 4 (48:11):
I don't even I don't care.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Yeah, I haven't tried and plus you know they.

Speaker 5 (48:17):
Have Sorry, go ahead, I was just gonna have fantastic
sangree it's okay.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Yeah that's also a win.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
No, I haven't tried Hilo, but it's been on my
list because I've heard nothing but great things. Everybody that
eats there tell me how good it is. So yeah,
I want to try that one for sure. I'm sorryyan
where we're back to you for your second round.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Pick Now you've got Lescelia. What's going to be joining it?

Speaker 3 (48:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (48:41):
Uh you know, uh is good.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
I thought the kom would come back to me for sure.

Speaker 10 (48:48):
Oh man, Uh, yeah, I'm taking that one to Coomi Te.

Speaker 4 (48:52):
Is so well, I'll let you talk about it's your pick,
go ahead, go for it.

Speaker 10 (48:55):
Well, I mean it's I've only been there once, but
I've never been able to get it, never been able
to forget it.

Speaker 6 (49:02):
It's so good. It's so good.

Speaker 9 (49:04):
You just where is it?

Speaker 1 (49:07):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (49:08):
And where's it? A?

Speaker 7 (49:09):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (49:09):
It's over by uh the Epcot's Japan Pavilion.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
Did you happen to get that A five wagu?

Speaker 6 (49:19):
Im trying to remember if I did or if I didn't.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
It just you would probably remember because it's like one
hundred dollars steak. It's like one hundred dollars for a
four ound steak. But it is the single best bite
of food I've had in my life.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
It was unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
So I yeah, to Kumyte was one I was definitely
hoping to pick because it is.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
Oh that was so good.

Speaker 1 (49:40):
I also have.

Speaker 4 (49:40):
Only eaten there once.

Speaker 1 (49:41):
They have changed the menu since I went, but they
do still have that wago on there, so oh yeah,
it was the last time we went.

Speaker 4 (49:49):
I went actually when it opened.

Speaker 1 (49:51):
I went to review the restaurant on its opening day
and man, I've been talking about that steak ever since.
So this was what like six years ago, so good
highly recommend. Yeah, okay, Christy, we are back to you now.
You use the first pick for Liberty Tree Tavern, and
you got back to back picks, rounding out the second

(50:11):
round and kicking off our third round here.

Speaker 4 (50:13):
So what are you gonna go with here?

Speaker 8 (50:15):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (50:15):
You all have fancy tastes. I'm like a boring person here.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
No. No, I like that you went quick service because
I was trying to think of some quick service restaurants
that I would include in here too, and there are
some really great ones.

Speaker 4 (50:29):
So I'm curious to see what else you've got.

Speaker 8 (50:32):
So I will have.

Speaker 7 (50:33):
To go back to Disney Springs and I'm gonna choose.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
The Yeah, that's on my list.

Speaker 8 (50:42):
They have.

Speaker 7 (50:44):
Free fish and chips. However, they do have to state
that it is probably not gluten free, just because they're
not per se Disney owned restaurant, so they're not act
know Adam, you know, strict in their kitchen with the

(51:06):
allergy stuff. So they just they always come out and
make sure that I know that it you know, there's
always that possibility of some cross contamination.

Speaker 8 (51:16):
But best fish and chips.

Speaker 7 (51:18):
I haven't had that in like years, so.

Speaker 4 (51:23):
Very cool.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Yeah, I didn't even think about it. The gluten free
fish and chips. That sounds awesome. Yeah. I've eaten at
Raglan maybe more than any other Disney restaurant, so I
absolutely love it. It's been a staple for me for
a long long time. Entertainment going on in the restaurant too,
I mean the staff is always incredible. Have you have
you gotten there from anybody gone to their brunch at all?

Speaker 9 (51:45):
No?

Speaker 1 (51:46):
Oh no, no, so good. Oh so I'm just amazing.
So yeah, big win with Raglan rug there. I like
that pick a lot? Okay, so kick off our third
round here, Christy, what's your next pick?

Speaker 7 (52:00):
All right, I'm gonna go over to the Animal Kingdom
Lodge and I'm gonna pick Boma.

Speaker 9 (52:05):
Nice Okay, Okay, So that's Boma a collection of flavors or.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
Something like that.

Speaker 9 (52:13):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (52:14):
What's the tag Wink.

Speaker 7 (52:16):
Restaurant? The first time I went there, I went I
was in Disney with a friend and her daughter is
a chef, so she's like, let's try this restaurant and
I'll look it at the menu and I'm going I
don't know what any of this stuff is, but I
have to say there's probably the best restaurant I eat
with on that visit. Like it was probably the most
food that I was able to eat.

Speaker 6 (52:38):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (52:38):
Okay, that's good to know.

Speaker 6 (52:40):
That sounds really good.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
Yeah, I had a I had a different Animal Kingdom
Lodge restaurant on my list here, but we can maybe
talk about that. I might stay away from it now
that you went with Boma. But Boma is is a
great pick. Plus zebra domes when you go for their
their buffet.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
The zebra domes. That oh awesome, that's good to Yeah, yeah,
very cool. Yes, zebra dome. I we just did on
a on the Destination's Travel YouTube channel.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
We have a video live tour of Diseys Animal Kingdom
Lodge and you can bet that I left with some
zebra domes.

Speaker 4 (53:16):
I had to get them while I was there, so
I will be okay.

Speaker 7 (53:19):
I will be staying there a part of my trip
in October in the Kingdom.

Speaker 4 (53:25):
Very nice, very nice.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
All right, So Boma good pick. Brian. We're back to you.
Do you have another Epcot restaurant? You're sticking to Epcot
so far?

Speaker 10 (53:33):
No, I'm I'm I'm I'm running out of Epcot, but
I'm actually heading straight over to the Polynesian Resort and
I'm picking oh.

Speaker 1 (53:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, I actually can't. I'm surprised it
didn't go earlier, to be honest, like, I put it
on my list fully expecting that I would not have
the opportunity to pick it, because Ohana is, i mean,
maybe the most popular the Walt Disney World restaurant.

Speaker 10 (53:56):
And honestly, I will I'm not too sure if it
was there for wasn't, But I just know that since
like the very first time, you know, going there. My
first memory was eating at Ohanna's. It was my whole
family of like ten eleven, twelve plus people, you know,
and we usually eat there every time ever since. So

(54:17):
it's just it's kind of like more of a sentimental
pick for for Ohanna. But every time we get the
food there, it's it's always good. It's always good, it's
a good time, it's good atmosphere. It's just an all
around great pick.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
So yeah, those noodles, Brian is just working.

Speaker 9 (54:38):
I had band experiencing with bonadors at that restaurant, so
I'm not going back there a yet.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
So Brian is picking exclusively from Eric's list, so well, yes, yeah,
right now, you didn't know you put that in the
shared document we are we are back to you now though,
So space two twenty and hilaya what.

Speaker 4 (55:03):
Third one?

Speaker 9 (55:04):
Not for the food, so the experience it's a hoopy
Oh very cool, Okay, yeah, no.

Speaker 5 (55:12):
So take that guess take that one.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
No, that's a good pick because that is that's dinner
in a show, So it's like it's almost cheating. But yeah,
the food was also very very.

Speaker 4 (55:24):
Good, great pick foods.

Speaker 5 (55:27):
Food's fantastic.

Speaker 9 (55:28):
I mean it's not necessarily known as the best chicken
and ribs ever.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
But you know what, when they come.

Speaker 5 (55:33):
And slam that bucket down on your table, you know,
it just says how time.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Yeah, and the show is a lot of fun. It
was Eric and I actually ate there together and it
was it was a really great time. And so I'm
I'm up now with my third and then fourth pick.
And Eric, I was really worried for a second because
I thought you were going to take another restaurant that
we ate at together, and that is Steakhouse seventy one.

Speaker 4 (55:55):
Oh that's gonna be my my third.

Speaker 6 (55:57):
Oh, that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Best burger on property. I think we have a video
on their destination travel YouTube channel called budget bytes where
I went around and checked out three different burgers at
three different price points, and that was my pick. The
Steakhouse seventy one burger, which was the mid price point one.

Speaker 4 (56:17):
Incredible. It's I don't think you can get a.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
Better burger, I mean really anywhere.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
It's just so good.

Speaker 5 (56:24):
What's the secret ordering tip on the burger? It's not
available at what meal tak.

Speaker 1 (56:29):
It is only it's a lunch option. But if you
want it for dinner they can make things you will
make it for you.

Speaker 4 (56:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Now that being said, they have an awesome menu, Like
all the steaks are delicious. The French onion soup best
I've ever had anywhere. Also, so if you like that,
go for that. But yeah, Steakhouse seventy one is awesome.
This is in the contemporary resort by the way. Oh
and I don't think we mentioned HOOPTI do review over
at Fort Wilderness. Did we skip any other ones? Ohana's Polly,
Yeah we got there, so yeah we Steakhouse seventy one

(57:01):
is my third pick, and now I've got my fourth
pick here to kick off our final round, and I
was betting, willing to bet anything that this pick would
be there for me as my fourth pick because it's
more of a sentimental although really really great food and drinks.
I'm gonna take Territory Lounge in Wilderness Lodge. This has
become a holiday staple for my family. We go every year.

(57:23):
We get they have small plates and they have really
really good drinks. In fact, the s'mores old fashioned, highly recommend,
really really good, and then it's delicious and then the
loaded potato flatbread. Oh, the food, the food is really good.
This is it's funny because it's it's not it's it's

(57:44):
the lounge, right, It's not even like the big restaurant
at this hotel. There's so many others. Whispering Canyon is great.
You got guys are point Outside, which both of those
I could have picked. But Territory Lounge is my favorite.
Absolutely love it. And going to Wilderness Lodge for the
holiday season top notch. It's the place to be when
once that tree goes up. It's the best holiday vibes

(58:05):
you can find.

Speaker 9 (58:08):
Yes, and be sure to ask for the ketchup when
you go.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
To the Wespring Canyon.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
Can you can ask for it a territory lounge and
they'll probably just still yell at you from Whispering Canyon. Okay,
So that rounds out my picks with territory lounge there.
So Eric, we are back to you for your final pick.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
Okay.

Speaker 9 (58:29):
So I'm surprised this and I think, come up yet,
But you guys might be a bunch of Cretans, so
I can see why it's not there. I'm going to
go with the Top of the World. Oh okay, Thelisornia Yeah,
that was my first thought.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
And then when you started calling us Cretans, I thought
you were going in a different direction. But okay, California Grill. Yeah,
I thought you would pick this.

Speaker 9 (58:51):
Actually, yes, I mean actually best views I think in
all of the parks for so dining, fireworks watching, having.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
A nice class of wine.

Speaker 9 (59:04):
It's a bar, and the food is actually fantastic, and
I love how that they keep the menu kind of
fresh and updated. Last time I was there was with
with your mother and father. With Brian's bather father they
were there too.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
Just had a different form.

Speaker 9 (59:25):
But yeah, with Brian's parents and we had like a
nice little private room off to the side because we
had a large group and it was just a fantastic
experience all around.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
Yeah, it's funny you said that they keep that menu fresh,
because the first time I went, I actually I liked it,
and I really loved the atmosphere in the view and everything,
but I wasn't blown away by the food. And I
went back years later and I was absolutely blown away
by the food. So yeah, California Grill was on my
list for sure and definitely deserves being drafted. Here, Brian,

(59:56):
we are now to you for your fourth and final pick.

Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
Oh man, it's I got two of them. I got well,
I got one as a backup.

Speaker 10 (01:00:07):
Just in case of this one does If this one
doesn't count, if this one does not count, cosmicle.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Mentions after if just just you know, make your last
pick and then we'll discuss left.

Speaker 6 (01:00:17):
All right.

Speaker 10 (01:00:18):
Uh, I'm gonna go over to Animal Kingdom and I
am picking Rainforest Cafe.

Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Oh okay, that that. Wait, I'm curious because you specifically
said Animal Kingdom, that one over the Disney Springs one.

Speaker 10 (01:00:32):
Specifically, that one specifically over at Disney Springs one. It's
one I always went to as a kid. Again, this
is another sentimental pic. But every time we get the food,
food is always great. The atmosphere fits with the park theme,
so I always thought that that that was always a
plus with it. Seating is always not a problem. It's

(01:00:58):
just it's just a great appal. Well, I mean I
say that, but sometimes it can.

Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
Be Well, it's just funny that it's been it.

Speaker 10 (01:01:03):
Give me very long, Yeah, but yeah, no, it's that's.

Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
That is my final pick.

Speaker 10 (01:01:10):
It's uh, I feel it's it was when I was keeping,
I was saved and I was saving for that one.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
But no, I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
Oh I hate. That's My absolutely least favorite restaurant.

Speaker 9 (01:01:19):
On property plan is Wow, Yes, because we have a
mutual friend that absolutely just loves it and raised about
it because of the cheese sticks, and that's the only
thing the man goes there to eat.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
So I'm like.

Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
No.

Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
And besides, they're like fifteen of these things throughout the country,
so right, right.

Speaker 6 (01:01:40):
There's actually more. There's a lot more.

Speaker 9 (01:01:43):
You can't swing a dead a dead cattle about hitting
a rainforest cafe.

Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
There's one done on the Mbarkadero here in San Francisco.

Speaker 10 (01:01:51):
Through there's a guy that actually went to every single
Rainforest Cafe in America, in North America.

Speaker 6 (01:01:59):
He hit every single one of them.

Speaker 10 (01:02:01):
Why yeah, surprisingly, Yeah, he even got invited to a
pop up Rainforest Cafe over in New York not.

Speaker 6 (01:02:07):
Too long ago, just just because.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
He went to every single one.

Speaker 5 (01:02:12):
I thought the animals would have eaten them by now.

Speaker 6 (01:02:14):
Yeah, you know, I thought I thought that too, But.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
I have multiple questions, but I feel like we should
save them for a rainforest cafe specific episode at this point.

Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Oh, yes, we should do that.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
You can we record an episode in the Rainforest Cafe.
That would be a lot of there you go.

Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Get interrupted by the months exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Okay, Christy, you've we've made you wait long enough?

Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
Is your your final pick? Here? Liberty Tree, Tavern, Raglan
Roade in Boma?

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
So far, what's the last pick of the draft here?

Speaker 7 (01:02:44):
I'm going to do some character dining right now, but
primarily breakfast.

Speaker 8 (01:02:50):
I prefer their breakfast. I'm gonna say Tusker House.

Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
Oh nice, Okay, all right, I've never done Tusker House.
So what what you what do you eat.

Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
At a Tusker House? What's to go to?

Speaker 7 (01:03:06):
I pretty much can eat the majorit like, so they
have like a pastry table that is probably not very
good for me to go to, but the majority of
everything else on their buffet is probably pretty clear sailing
for me. With some things like you know, but you

(01:03:27):
can get the Mickey waffles, you can ask for gluten
free pastries and if they have stuff, they will bring
it up for you.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Yeah, and you had me at pastry table.

Speaker 9 (01:03:37):
So.

Speaker 7 (01:03:39):
They have like a pastry like ay area. So but
I just I like sometimes sometimes when I go to
the parks, I like to like if I get like
a like a pretty significant breakfast, then I can kind
of like go through the park and not have to
worry about eating too much in between before dinner time,
and then have a nice, nice dinner.

Speaker 8 (01:03:59):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
So yeah, it's a good way to handle it. All right.
Let me run through our our final picks here and
then we can talk about some honorable mentions, because I'm
sure everyone has some left on their list.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
So Christy got Liberty Tree.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Tavern, you bet, Liberty Tree Tavern, Raglan Road, Boba and
Tusker House. Brian got Lesseelier to Kumi te Ohanna and
Rainforest Cafe. Eric got Space two twenty Hileo hoop de
DOOO review in California, Grill and I got Homecoming, boat House,
Steakhouse seventy one, and Territory Lounge. Christy, let's start with you.
What else is on your list that we didn't get

(01:04:32):
a chance to talk.

Speaker 7 (01:04:33):
Well, I'm I'm like I said earlier, I'm a big
fan of the Nomad Lounge. It's like a hidden gem
and animal kingdom and just to even just go there,
and you know, you can go out hang out at
the bar, grab like some of their like small food.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Ops, you know.

Speaker 8 (01:04:50):
Yeah, and they do they do have they.

Speaker 7 (01:04:52):
Do have a gluten friendly bread service.

Speaker 8 (01:04:55):
Just nefinite nice.

Speaker 7 (01:04:57):
So yeah, so I like to kind of like go
and just kind of chilled there for a little bit.
It's just a nice little area. It has a lot
of stories in it, you know, Like the one time
I was there and we just it was kind of slow,
so like the bartender just explained all about the lounge

(01:05:18):
itself and all of like the decor and all stuff.

Speaker 8 (01:05:22):
So it was really neat.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Yeah, nice, Brian, What about you? Any anything left on
your list?

Speaker 6 (01:05:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:05:29):
I was gonna say Planet Hollywood, but before they did
the renovation for it, it's just that interior I will
never forget that.

Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
That was my biggest selling point.

Speaker 10 (01:05:41):
Is the interior Planet Hollywood or what it was before.
There's just it's it's memorable. It's unique. I mean they
got a car hanging from the ceiling, or they did
they had a car hanging from the ceiling and a
boat but.

Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
Yeah, all the movie props and everything too. It's really
really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
Yeah, Eric, what you see. That's why you like the
boat house because you need.

Speaker 7 (01:06:07):
You know.

Speaker 9 (01:06:07):
My honorable mention is absolutely my absolute favorite place to
have breakfast, and all of Walt Disney World is okay, yeah, yeah,
the and not for the reason that you might be thinking,
which is the toast, but they're they do have amazingly
good omelets and you know, if you can get the
local Moco, that's that's one of.

Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
My favorites too. But the coffee, A big.

Speaker 9 (01:06:34):
Fan of Kona Coffee, has been hooked on it ever
since I visited. But why years ago, and I'm going
to press pot is probably a divine coffee and creation.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
And I am branding too, f y.

Speaker 7 (01:06:50):
I they do make muten free ConA ConA the bread
toast they make gluten free.

Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
That's really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
So there's a lot of and I discovered them.

Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
Yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:07:04):
And I discovered tong Ga Toast when I was real
little going to the parks.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
In the seventies.

Speaker 9 (01:07:08):
But it coincidentally was not at the Coma Cafe because
that did not exist back then. It was a place
called the Tango Town, right, yeah, which was out by
the day.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
So yeah, I would have run through a few a
few names that I had left on my list here, Eric,
I thought when you were going with California, Gril, I
thought you might be setting up Victoria and Alberts. I
feel like we need to mention Victoria and Alberts because
it's it's the fancy restaurant on Disney property.

Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
So but I have not eaten that, so I can't
really couldn't, couldn't draft it in good conscious.

Speaker 9 (01:07:41):
But the closest I've ever came to it was my
brother was a waiter there when he was on the
Disney Dining Third the Disney Yell College program.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
I mean, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Some of the other ones I had in my list
Summerhouse on the Lake, a new addition to Disney Springs,
really really good. Jico was the other Disney Donmo Kingdom
Lodge restaurant, and the Cake Bake Shop over in the
Boardwalk area is also very very good. So there's there's,
I mean, just a ton more that we could talk about.
We could honestly do a whole other episode on just
this topic too, But so much good food at Walt

(01:08:12):
Disney World. All right, let's get into our deal of
