it was steamy. But it's League's Cup.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
It's a different sort of press conference atmosphere indoors for
this one.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
We got Mikey Badass.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
We'll here's some.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
Audio leading into tomorrow's match that almost didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Almost That story still to come on episode ten of
the Chromaniac. But first let's introduce the man who writes
Chromatic FC.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
It's Alex Vania.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
Hi, Alex, Hey, Craig and Tony we're back, and you
know we we got to witness our first Conca caffe ish.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
I guess that's that's how you want to call it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
we San Diego.
Speaker 6 (01:43):
You got to experience Conca caf for the first time Understryer.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
You thought you could escape the reach of Conca caf
living in a Nordic nation. No, sir, you have now
experienced the bitter taste of Conca calf Red.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's not the one you want to see. At the
end of the match.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
He wants a beer and candy instead, he got a
tall poor of concer.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Calf red for Andrew Stryer. We'll talk about it.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
We're going to talk about SDFC and Pachuca and a
three two setback. We're going to talk about the League's
Cup and where we stand. And as Tony said, we'll
hear from Mikey baras we'll hear from Tomas on Hell.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
We'll look ahead to Jen Yak and to a Lustigres
de Monterrey.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
But first, a reminder to help us out as a
young show, just ten episodes now they always say it's
not a podcast.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Until the tenth episode.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh, we've already beaten like ninety percent of startup shows
that usually make it somewhere between five and nine shows
and then just cash out and go, you know what,
this is a lot of work.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Let's get out of here.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
So already we've crossed that threshold, but ten is not
one hundred is not a thousand, So we are still
very much dependent on of mouth on five star reviews,
within the algorithms of the various Apple podcasts, Spotify, iHeart,
so on, so forth, Google Play. So please help us out.
(03:16):
Subscribe to the show on YouTube. If you're watching the
YouTube show, click the like button. Thank you so much
for doing it. Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart always opportunities to rank, rate,
and review.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
You can also follow us on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Our man, Terrible SDFC Memes does a great job of
pulling pertinent clips from the show and recycling them. We
say thank you to him, so join us at the
Chromaniacs on Instagram. Guys, it's great to see, Hey, twenty
three extra followers between the last time we did that
and now.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
So community continues to grow. It's good to see.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
We're getting We're getting, you know, followers from from everywhere,
smart followers, people who are plugged in, and that's that's
really what this is about. Like, I'm glad that, Yeah,
we can explain winning off side of this to anybody
any day.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
I'll be glad to do it.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
But also, let's talk you know X's and knows and
I know Alex you like yourself some tactics and writing
about it too.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah that's right.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
And uh yeah, I think we saw a lot of
you know, different tactics in this one.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
And and man, uh.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Yeah, we it's cool to see the other side, the
flip side of what what is lega MX and and
and I really enjoyed the game and all the ups
and downs that came with it.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Well, we're gonna get into it all and let's let's
get rolling.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Thank you all for being here. We really appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
For everybody who's watching later on YouTube, thank you uh
so so much.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Before we get.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Into Pachuca, I guess we should kind of roll through.
Last time we on the show, we talked about Paedrosoma,
we talked about David Vasquez.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Those moves have been made official. Now.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Was there anything in terms of the general allocation money
the other one that I don't know what the T
stands for allocation money any of it?
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Was there anything surprising or unexpected?
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I don't think so. Pretty straightforward it when it came to.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Vasquez, that exactly how it was reported a loan and
we gave it was reported that the Vascus loan came
with fifty thousand gam you know, not a lot for
this season, and it will be another fifty thousand for
next season.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
And yeah, straight up with an option to.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
It was an option to buy, but I think technically
it was an option to trade, which is probably going
to be trade for more gam or trade for a
player or both potentially, but it's that that's going to be.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Something to talk about down the road. But when it
came to.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
Soma, yeah, that that seems like an under twenty two slot.
So we we filled out our third slot there.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
In in in on the roster.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
And I didn't see the that's the tricky thing about
these details.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
You don't get the full picture of it. But I
have a.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Feeling it did come with a with a loan fee
that didn't go reported.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
But that's usually how these.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Things go or you know, loan fee transfer fee. That
that's kind of how how these transactions happened. But yeah,
so who knows what, you know, what kind of money
that was, but that would be added on to uh
that I think that's added onto the TAM or gam
(06:57):
one of those and then and then uh yeah, and
so but that that that seems like a long, long
term play for a player that's gonna be here for
a while and really develop with the team. And and yeah,
we'll get to see Soma pretty you know, it feels
like pretty soon, he's in training, he's.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
With the team, he was listened on the bench.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
So I'm pretty excited about about both both of these players, Tony.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Do you think we can see them both tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Maybe I can see some some minutes for some of
these players as well, just kind of easing them in.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
But again, it really depends on the ambition of SDFC
in this tournament to begin with.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
And uh, you know, if I was to just kind
of be a.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Reader of body language out of training and and not
to say that there's any aspect that wouldn't want of
the team to win this next upcoming matchup againstig it is.
But I think that the club would feel correct if
if this tournament just ended just the way it's being
handled us the way that uh, it's stretching the depth
(07:58):
of the team. And yeah, you can go ahead and
get Pedal Soma in there. You have durand Free rejoining
the team as well, and so depending if they have
a victory and the third game against my stfline is
more important.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Now you can see more more of pedal soma.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
But if it's not, you can see, uh, you know,
maybe some resting. Hey, Honor Dryer is going to get
a rest tomorrow. He's not gonna play.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, he he made sure of that, no question. Well
you just brought it up. Durand Free is back.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Oh, imagine the podcasts in FC Norsealin just ripping the
club for being unable to resolve the loan ended and
you sent him back. Did they do in Alaski style
emergency pod when Fari got on a plane.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
But nonetheless, durand Free is back, which means that the
other third keeper, Jackson, Jacob Jackson has been sent along.
He's been traded to FC Dallas for a third round
pick in next year Super drafts. So cool for that,
and I think cool for durand Free, who probably won't
see the field. Yeah, unless like something really bad happens.
(09:10):
I don't think durand Feree will see the field. But
it's great to hear that. And thank you Tony for
pulling that up. If you're listening to the show, Tony
just pulled up the.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
H Jacob Jackson.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Woven into our history and literally a picture of him
like calling to the coach, but it looks like he's
waving goodbye.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
He's like goodbye.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, I forgot on the team.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Hey, hey, if you really want to look at it,
I'm sorry, Alex, but that's another San Diegan that's now
left the team.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Another one.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
Yeah, they can't keep these local guys on the roster.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
People in California.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
It'steck Kevin new somebody tell you you just can't keep
a good guy here.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
It's the price of eggs. No, it's not.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
What's the other way around too. Now we're getting rid of,
you know, the San Diego Latino population too. Hey did
you hear did you see that? Bobino also had an
offer come through?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
And yes, oh good, thank you for bringing that up.
Let's talk about this. Luca is popular, Alex.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
Yeah, and and you know this is gonna be I
think the first of many offers for not only Mombino,
but you know, some of the younger guys on the squad.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
When it comes to you know, Doua or for Hovin or.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
Any of these guys that catches the eye of you know,
teams from Premier League Championship you know wherever. And yeah,
I felt I felt like this was like almost a
caution flag, right, this is like a warning shot that
was but in the air, like, yeah, these these players
will be sold eventually, but uh, for for now, for Hovin,
(11:03):
it didn't even technically our player. We got to remember
that he's not he's not even are to like sell
or you know or transfer over.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Uh, he's still with l A f C. And we
have that option to buy at the end of the season.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
But yeah, when when we do have that option and
pick it up, Yeah, these players are going to be
uh hot commodity, uh priss and UFC and yeah, this
is gonna be the first Yeah, this is the first
warning shot that that we get that hey West brom
is interested in one of our players.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Someday the sales will come and then we'll be out
here trying to be like, oh, we're so happy we
got this.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
And then you know what I just got off of
Padres Trade deadline podcast.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
I like the team that acquires the players yep and
says we ride it's time to go. I don't like
the team that's like, did you see how smart we
are on the ACUTEI old table. Did you see how
we got over on West brom and our acquisition fee
exceeded our transfer fee, and look at us, we're acuitarial geniuses.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
We've done the job.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
By the way. We finished fifth in the league and
we know about down in the first round of the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
But it's okay.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Did you see our selling acumen, by the way, by
our latest jersey as well, Community kid is out.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
It's it's white. Sorry, I'll never get over that. Just
call it the awake kid. You didn't have to call
it community Kid. But I digress. But I digress.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
If I speak, I get in trouble.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
We're an independent show Thank goodness when I speak, I
don't get in trouble now at the old job, I
probably would have, you know, But that's cool.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
We're good.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Okay, League's Cup, let's get into it, Alex, What were
you were expectations before League's Cup began?
Speaker 2 (13:02):
And what are your expectations now?
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Man? But yeah, the when.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
When I saw this on the schedule, I thought this
was like a good opportunity for like the nice scarf,
so uh, I thought this was a good opportunity to
kind of showcase our younger guys. So I didn't really
think this was, you know, take it seriously type of competition.
I kind of saw it more like, Okay, this is
(13:33):
a competition that you know, our other guys can play,
our reserves can play, our our our our B team
can play. I didn't expect to see so many regulars
starting this match. It was it was interesting to see
that starting eleven and and so I didn't take it
(13:55):
seriously initially, and then now it's like, well, we lost
a game. Now it's like less serious, and now I'm
more calling for Hey, just let the kids play. Let
let uh give mintain minutes. Give on Hell, give him
a whole ninety. Jeez, get you know, give give these guys,
you know, bout ten and give all these guys all
(14:17):
the playing time in this uh and for the rest
of this company.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Is that the problem on Hell has only been getting eighty.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
If we give him the full ninety, he's gonna it's
those last ten where the value comes up like bad
for sixteen holes, but on the seventeenth to drive his money.
Speaker 6 (14:32):
Oh yeah, yeah, I think that's kind of how you
gotta think about it, because yeah, when when he does
come in late, he actually does something.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
He does, you know, does something positive.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
But that's like his tenth minute when he'd not his
ninety minute.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Remember, let's remember what Mikey said postmatch this last game
when she asked him.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
But he defends well.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Yeah, he defends well yeah for forward.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah, hey said his work rate and he's creating space.
You know, like these are all good things that a
coach needs to say to defend a young player, but
you know, he said it as well. And by the way,
I love Mikey Bartis's honesty in the soulful way that
he answers questions and even his coach speak is laced
(15:17):
with honesty and.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Humility, so it's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
So I don't get mad at him like I get
mad at Shilty over in the podres dugout.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
For all of that.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
I feel the same way, Alex, and I think Tony
just our chats even offline, that you do as well
that you know.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Personally.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
I think for a San Diego FC expansion franchise that
doesn't have an academy, doesn't have a SDFC two, has
no reserves, has to basically play their starters every game
no matter what, with maybe like two or three subs.
(15:58):
The idea of being enrolled in a tournament where you
have to play three games in seven days right in
the middle of the league schedule is nuts. I think
from a purely aesthetic standpoint, the league would have been
better served to put SDFC in the Lamar Hunt US
Open Cup tournament, where there would have been fewer compressed
(16:20):
commitments and if you lost one, you're out of there,
so you move along with the season. I think this
is a really tough lift for San Diego FC.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Whether they win one game.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Just to play the two hundred and seventy minutes plus
stoppage time in seven days and then rolled back into
the league schedule, that's a really tough ask for this team.
I think asking them to win in League's Cup, well,
that might be a bridge too far.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Yeah, I mean, looking at this tournament right, like as
a soccer paurist that I consider myself, right, this is
a new tournament that's, you know, the nouveau style of soccer,
and we're trying to make you know, you know, trying
to be not as cynical as possible, but trying to
make dollars instead of pesos, which is why all these
games are played in America to begin with, right, and
(17:18):
looking at it from a just league construction standpoint from
the Mexican side, the Mexican teams don't want this.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
They do not want this at all.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
They hate that they have to take a pause in
their league because they're pause too. And instead of playing
in libert Taalores, which is a tournament equal to that
of the Champions League in terms of history, if not
more down South on a club level, they're now in
this pseudo you know.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
MLS league a mekis.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
Some Canadian teams in there, like Smorgesborg of whatever. That's
poorly managed in terms of like logistics, as we've been
seeing the last couple of years. Last year a team
of Leon was stranded in an airport. They lived in
an airport because they couldn't get out there. Today, speaking
of San Diego FC, that becomes a story once again. Degris,
(18:11):
as of about forty five minutes ago, have finally landed
in San Diego. They were stranded in Houston. They were
on a plane last night twice and deboarded twice and
had to be you know, on a holding pattern. And
there was a chance that this game was not going
to happen. It got so close that there was talks
(18:31):
of there was talks of either rescheduling this game, which
were just put just told no. And then there was
a chance to ask Sandegue FC, hey can Santego then
travel over somewhere else, whether that's Houston, whether that's Monterrey,
and you know, no, no. But again, this is how
(18:52):
close the kidding not happened.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Wow, it was this.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Close from having Friday open and everybody's gonna be at
Petco uh to to watch.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
You know what, I'm now very excited for in this
Padres team. I'm so excited.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
That's very m A s L. I mean, come on, tires,
just fly in tomorrow. What's the big deal? Just landed
three and play at eight? Who cares?
Speaker 3 (19:20):
No?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I mean that's terrible, that's poor logistics and I don't
know any of that's so I'm not going to make
any commentary beyond that, but uh, you know, I'm glad
that they're making it. At least I think the compact
nature of this tournament is terrible for all the teams involved.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
The league.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
A meekis teams are very early h in their second season.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Right this one is Klasura. Am I right? So they're
early in Klassura.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
While for the sd you know, for SDFC and the
MLS teams, they're they're beyond the halfway point.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
They just went through All Star like.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
It's just wild timing to me, and to have it
all happened so fast. The action's been okay. Other MLS
teams have done pretty well. The messy comeback that was
super exciting for Interer Miami. For SDFC, this just feels
ill fitted and that can help us transition to the match,
(20:22):
which felt to me. Guys, tell me I'm wrong. I'd
love to hear from both of you. I thought it
was the biggest mismatch of the season. I really felt
like Patuca outclassed SDFC and did all the things to
our young back line that I've been a nervous nelly
(20:44):
about for weeks, thinking that MLS teams were going to
be able to exploit well. I think that you needed
to step up to see an to see a league
chi's side that's undefeated, to see what it looks like
when a team that has a little more talent and
a little more speed than you high press is you
and puts your back line on the back foot. And
(21:04):
I thought the turnovers were in the most dangerous places
I've seen all year. I thought the counters were the
most dangerous I've seen all year. And to be honest,
I thought it could have been four or five nothing
before s DFC got their late goals.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
Yeah, I also agree, And also like the physicality of this, Like, uh,
Patuca held nothing back, especially towards.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Our young back line. They ever aggressive.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
They did take their shots and and you know got
a little chippy and whether that was with you know,
you know, in the backfield or in the midfield, Yeah,
they were, you know, being aggressive. And and this is
the top team in Lega a Mecki's and yeah, it
really did show. And they're they're coached by a really
(21:55):
good head coach who him Alsano, who also coached a
national team just like Mikey Marris. And yeah, it really
does show. Like ye had tactically like they were really good.
I mean they waited for their chances and really put
it away. I mean that's that was the difference. Like
they they they were able to take their shots and
(22:18):
put those shots away and we just couldn't early early
on this match. And yeah, I think if we were
to get one early goal, I think that could have
shifted a lot, you know, early on in this match.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
And we just we just couldn't do it.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
And but you know, uh, and it was interesting to
see that Chuki took a lot of a lot more
shots than anybody else, and Kuki really wanted to have
his moment against his former team, and he didn't.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
He didn't get it.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
And he I think, I I honestly thought that he
would get a half in just and and Virus would
take off. But I think that he left them on
a little too long for my liking for this match,
and kept them on till like the same, you know,
seventy seventy fifth minute or so. And yeah, I think
I think like the pressure was kind of on him
(23:14):
and a team really wanted him to score. And yeah,
it was just it was a little different for me,
like when it came to h scene seeing SDFC play
against uh uh, you know this caliber of club.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
That highlight you just rolled right there, Tony, And I
apologize I've forgotten the name of the striker for Patchucca.
There they run the four three two one and set
him up number ninety nine but him against dua.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
That's a man against a.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Boy right there, right there, that's a man against a boy,
and that is taking somebody to school. And it was
that moment in the thirty eighth minute that I was like, oh, oh,
it's gonna be like got it, It's gonna be like that.
(24:03):
And nothing changed to me the rest of the match, honestly,
like that right there, that could have been a goal,
that could have been too nothing, but two nothing came
soon enough. Three nothing. Three nothing was honestly nice. I mean,
this is a nice goal. This is very calm. This
is calm and slotted. And the SDFC players that were
(24:24):
calling for off sides looked really sad when they were
doing that because there was like nothing even approaching enough
side that happened on this play. And I don't mean,
I mean or anything, but this is just there's a
saying that comes throughout my life in so many different ways, guys,
and it is there are levels to things, yep. And
(24:49):
in everything there are levels. And you think you have
found a level and mastered a level, and you find
out that there's a whole level above that you had
no idea was there, And it makes everything look different
and that's what this match was to me, was Pachuca saying, guys,
there's levels to this and you're not here.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
You're over here. This is fun, this is cool.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
We're up here and we're gonna take advantage of everything
you do and cool sixty forty possession numbers, Like, I
think we've built that into the contract now for SDFC.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Pachuca do exactly what to do with their forty percent?
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Yeah, and they were like, like Alex mentioned, they were physical,
and I think that's the gear. And then we'll hear
also from mikey Vadis just in terms of like what
was the match preparation going into it, in terms of
you knew that they you know, Mexican teams in Spanish
we call it called neo, like it's just having.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
The dark arts in your back pocket.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Craig in misl we know it well, Chihuahwa Savage, the
Mexican teams three come beyond, like they'll go down and
there's there's that magic spray that just comes out at
some point and you know, player was literally about to
have his leg amputated and magic spray and all right,
we just we're back up. But that frustrates the players
that that's something that's felt throughout and just again to
(26:10):
add a little bit of lore to the the Chuky
versus Patchuca thing. Losano is the coach that first left
him off that national team.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Yeah, and just said no, thank.
Speaker 5 (26:23):
You, Chucky, specifically you no, thank you, bye bye. I'm
going with the young kids. And it ended up kind
of sort of working for Copa. Yeah, and you know it,
that's the beginning of the decline of the relationship between
CHUCKI Losano and the Mexican national team.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
And that's him then being just announced in Chuky Mania.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
So just a little bit more of layers, like yes,
boy hood club for Patuca and Chucky. It was a
little chippy specifically in a couple of corners with a
bench and Chuky on some instances, So it felt like
Alga and Mackey's game in that. Yeah, that's sometimes what happens.
Sometimes the team just overpowers the other and the other
(27:05):
one is just to witness there and we're we're we're
just kind of paid to watch grass grow for for
a day and uh, the other team score. But you know,
it's a lesson learned, It's a lesson learned. Now you know,
now you know how maybe to handle this.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Yeah, now they're a little bit more battle tested too,
especially that young back line.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
They know what what.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
Can happen in these matches, and you know, especially moving
forward when when we're heading towards playoffs and everything.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
You know, they got to be up for it. They
got to be up for the challenge. And and yeah,
it's it's not gonna be easy.
Speaker 6 (27:42):
It's not going to be you know what we saw
with you know, the last two matches where they they
handle their business. But yeah, sometimes it's it's gonna be physical,
it's gonna it's gonna be a lot more demanding.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
And they really got to, you know, be be up
for it.
Speaker 6 (27:57):
And yeah, they had their hands full against this true team.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
What are you supposed to do there?
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Like, what are you supposed to know?
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Nothing? Yeah, you got nothing. Something that you can do?
Speaker 5 (28:09):
The the book says pass it because you need to
go at least ten more yards to have a look
at goal. And no, like that's incredible right there, that's amazing.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
Yeah, Alexi the do mingis man. He had a heck
of a match. And yeah, for a kid that's twenty
years old, Yeah, that that's the type of striker, you know,
Tyler Heaps. Man, you got to be looking for that
that type of striker right there, man, because yeah, he
he he really really puts a good strike into that ball.
(28:44):
And it's like, like I said with the Lasky, I
don't think any anybody we have on that team team
has that type of strike. But yeah, I mean Heaps,
keep keep looking around.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Man, you got tang.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
He's squat nice goal, you know, when the other team
is feeling very relaxed and not particularly attentive once they're
up three to nothing with you know, eight and ten
minutes to go, But that is a nice finish and
it's a nice cross and they're going to get another
one late here in this highlight reel as well. It's
(29:21):
a solid result for Patchuca. And I would just say, oh,
here's the thing I wanted to ask to wrap it up.
I don't believe Pablo Sisniega did anything wrong in this game,
and I even think that the first goal allowed is
hilarious to punch it off the face of the dude
(29:43):
and make him score off his own face, Like if
you want to score off your face like that, fine,
But I thought the way he charged and shortened.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
The distance and reduced the angle. Was beautiful.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
No one in the world was going to stop the
second or the third goal. Uh we we played those
highlights for you here on the show. You could see them.
Second goal was inch perfect, third goal was a galasso.
There's there's just no question about it. But would any
of you be surprised if CJ's do Santos started on Friday?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
No, I don't think so. You know what it's.
Speaker 6 (30:25):
Yeah, like you it's like having a catcher, right, Craig,
It's like you can't start these guys every game, especially
when it when it's this type of competition.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
He wants to start every game.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
Well look wait, yeah, like, well know, we'll know tomorrow
night when the starting nine or starting eleven comes out
and yeah, well we'll see how serious mikey Varro's is
about this second game.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Of a League's Cup.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
But I mean I would give the Santos like, you know,
you know, let's see how ready you are type of
type of a game, or or save him for the
third third leagues cut patch. But I think those Anteis
should come in for one of these matches, you know,
virus pick pick the one you want.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
Yeah, I think and just just kind of knowing hearing
how training has been going the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
Is that.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
He's wearing a mask.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
He's still wearing a mask to train, and he's it's
not he's not getting used.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
To that mask.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
And I'm not sure what his you know, where he's
at on that transition to being a mass goalkeeper.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
But I know that as of rather recently.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
It's just you know, it takes some time to adjust,
especially for that position. You just you know, the technology
is great now, but it's just such a weird thing
to have on your face, especially when when you come
out in moments like that with Pablo Sisniega, you're kind
of you know, having a I don't know how to
describe it. Like uh, in wrestling, if a wrestler wears
(32:01):
a referee shirt, he becomes and you touch touch him,
they're out for ten minutes, even though he's the world champion,
but they're wearing a referee shirt. If you put that
mask on, something like it almost hinders a goalkeeper's just
mentality and psyche.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
So I would be surprised if he starts tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
But given said that, maybe he's been ready this last
week of training, you know with Duran Free what does
that mean?
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (32:25):
Does it?
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Does it mean that you know for reason now had
better competition for uh?
Speaker 4 (32:31):
You know, CJ.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Spot don't think so at all. But you know, I'm
not too sure. I wouldn't be surprised if Sisonieo gets
played again Mexican against the Mexican competition knows, the knows,
the league knows the players that type of strong, coming
out strong, sort of closing angle strategy. So I don't
know who would you prefer, Craig, I mean, that's if.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
I'd start Cystneega. I think Sistiea is the best keeper
on the team. I thought that going into the Sea
he didn't win the job. Dosantos played well. He got
a contract extension that I mean, he's a younger player,
so I get it, but I thought it was honestly
a little bit surprising. I didn't think his play in
(33:14):
the first half of the season spoke to a top
third goalkeeper. I thought it spoke to a guy who
was doing fine. You know that that terrible word that
I was to No, it's fine fine, Oh man, that's
not good enough. But I think Sistaniega has been a
really solid shot stopper.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
He's very athletic.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Dosantos isn't non athletic, you know, I mean, he's he's fine.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Again, there we go.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
But personally I would rate Sistaniega one, so I would
start him again, and I'd keep starting him the rest
of the season and see if we could win MLS
Cup with him. I just wouldn't be surprised because it's
ringing in my ears. And Varres has brought it up himself,
you know, Tony as a guy who's been at the
press conferences, he's brought up his own thing about exceptional
(34:07):
performance remains, but good to average is subject to change.
And probably you'd rate sis Niega as having been good
or average on the Pachuca match on Tuesday. So therefore
that would be Dos Santos's chance to rap on the
(34:27):
door and say I'm ready, let's go get me back
in there.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
It's my chance. Yeah, I think that's fair.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah, And look at the backline.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
Who has more experience with this young backline, like he's
he's been able to kind of grow with them as starter.
So interesting times and again at this point, like you
may want to save one of them to be an
outfield player. You know, you did get these reinforcements, but
under twenty World Cup is coming through, and that's gonna
(34:58):
come fast and furious because have a couple of players
that you're going to be losing.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
Uh here I believe going into October, I think, yeah,
it's it's late in the season.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Yeah, but you know at the.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
End of the day, this is the team that that's there.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Uh three to two batchuka, ugly match, boring essentially just
not necessarily boring. It's just, uh, it's exactly what the
cynical part of me whenever I if I thought of
what's this League's Cup going to be for SANDYFC?
Speaker 4 (35:31):
This that red card for Dreyer, the card he.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
He deserves the day off.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah, yes, you're not kind to lie like that might
have been helpful for that. Yeah, probably would have played
him sixty minutes. Yeah tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Yeah, good for dre I mean you deserve a day off, man.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Yeah, you were running up and down the field all
day on Friday night and you know, did it again Tuesday,
and it's like, come on, well deserved a offer on
Destroyer there, agreed.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Let's okay, let's you know what, let's wrap with training
sound let's just talk briefly about okay. Uh, this is
a team that to me is one of the class
of League ameekis led by one of the legends, Jiac
the French Great, who has just made a home for
(36:32):
himself in Monterey for years now, and his legend has
just grown and grown. Unlike his Laton who would have
been gone, you know, three four years ago, he's still there.
Speaker 7 (36:44):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
There's there's a lot of youth, There's a lot of
out it. This is a dynastic team. This is a
team that always came on being one of the fighters
at the top. And honestly, guys, you know, based on
the Pachuca match, I'm not like walking and expecting that
(37:09):
this is going to be the one that we get
to have it on our side to uh, to stay
alive in League's Cup.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, it's gonna be a battle. I mean.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
They also have some some young talent on that team
that is almost comparable to.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
What c in UFC has.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
Like these are like some youth nationals that really when
when I look at the roster, I saw, uh the
Diego Linus he I mean that dude, he was like
coming up so quickly, that dude. Yeah, he was a
shining star, like he was soaring, and he went over
(37:52):
to Bettist, went to Braga and now he's back to
the Digs and he yeah, he had like high hopes,
high potential. Another guy was Marcelo Flores who like he
he also he was playing over on the Arsenal side
in in their system and went when you know, and
(38:13):
and now he's back with Digitis.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
So like it yields a little similar to.
Speaker 6 (38:17):
What we're seeing with can UFC when when you're talking
about like you know Verhoven or who played Bobino who
played with the you know, US youth national team, like yeah,
these it's it's almost very similar. So and right now
Dignis is like is third in the in in the league.
Right now they're led by uh Pisaro who's thirty five
(38:41):
years old. When I had I looked that up the
other day, I was like that that that player like recently,
like like almost like last.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Season, like that that guy.
Speaker 6 (38:52):
Oh wow, okay, all right, so Pisaro's leading the charge
here and uh you know he he was also uh
you know, I think it is legend and now he's
a coaching the team. So yeah, there there's a lot
of a lot of parts here and it's yeah, it's
(39:12):
really really interesting to see this team come in at
this time because yeah, it's gonna be another test first NUFC.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
All right, last time we were accused on the comments
of being overly negative towards the end, and let me
tell you it's not going to stop, uh at least
for me.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Right.
Speaker 5 (39:31):
Corea is an Argentinian striker who based on alex Is
oh Craig. He just came back from and was a
contract by coming over from Athletico Madrid. Uh, you know,
in in that same vein where Pierre Andre came over
from I believe it was Marseilles at the time, in
his prime, and it was like whoa, this European is
(39:53):
coming over, much like Dre is coming over and like wow,
like they're they're coming over.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
This is really good talent and he corre as exactly that.
Speaker 5 (40:01):
And and let me tell you, like he went to
town against Houston and he had a Ronaldo Nasadio esque
goal and.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
It's just incredible what he's able to do.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
And that's you know, up top the tip of the
talent pool that they have, and it's you know, if
you ever give him any space any chance he's gonna
go ahead and be lethal again, you can't.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
You can't give him that that much sake.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
You don't do that.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Oh god, that was that was disgusting. There was no cruel.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
That's just cruel. Yeah, cruel.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
And I don't know if you remember, gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
Bush, you can't imagine one of our young guys giving
the ball up like that to.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Just and guess what This game ended up being four
to one? Uh to tig this.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
If you're going just based on head to head, if
you do the aggregate, San Diego c lost four to
two against Houston.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Let's not play that game. Let's not play that game.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
The transitive property does not necessarily apply tournaments. But you know,
just for memes, Okay, this is for you memes. I
don't know shit, all right, Like, I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
So if I.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
Think we're gonna lose and the team wins, that means
the team's awesome And I'm dumb again, okay, and I'm
happy to be that. And the chromaniac. When I put
the wig on, I only think of victory, nothing else.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Here on the Chromaniacs, I look at it like trying
to be rational, but remembering at Padre's hotab, I was
saying that we've had for years baseball is stupid and
no one should watch. Yeah, soccer isn't as stupid as baseball,
but there's a lot of dumb in there. There's a
(41:54):
lot of ball goes off your face and you score,
ball goes off the post and you lose, you know everything.
You know, the world decided on some hasering spin of
a Polota, Like it's crazy, So understand with the randomness,
anything could happen. Hell, the way Tikris got into San
(42:18):
Diego tonight, Yeah, they could have arrived at the hotel
and the trainer gave out the list and everyone worked
their trip into the gas lamp around it. And everyone
is going out and getting shit faced tonight and trying
to hook up and living the life. And they're going
to show up with absolutely no energy tomorrow because they
(42:41):
don't care about League s Cup, you know, and they
don't give a crap. And if that happens and we
pull a result, Guy alex Antonio and I were talking
about this before the show. Our coverage of League's Cup
will be one dependent from here on out on stfc's
participation therein if they beat T Grace, get ready, we'll
(43:02):
do a show.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
If they are ready to advance against Maztlan, we will
be white knuckling that bad boy and treating it like the.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Biggest cup in the history of SDFC. If they get.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Kunked tomorrow and it's three spit in the second half again,
they're getting goosed, three spit like, I don't care about
League's Cup anymore, and you know it won't matter to
me one bit.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
So for this young team.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
If T Grace wants to go out and throw a
boner tomorrow and we pull a win and get back
in it, holy crap like readjust but right now I'm
thinking young Team SDFC.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
T Grice comes in.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
And it's it's thinking to the next MLS match and
not worrying about League Cup anymore.
Speaker 5 (43:59):
And if I make Craig one last thing and I'm no,
this is game now that I'm thinking about it. If
you're going to watch this game or just attend, think
of it as more sports entertainment at this point, because
let me tell you about if I was reincardinated as
a goalkeeper in Lega Mackey's I would be thinking as
as goalkeeper and now he was mine because this dude
(44:23):
is out of his mind in terms of what a
goalkeeper is doing, how he conducts himself. This is him
taking a penalty with his back to Sergio Ramos, like,
this is an insane goalkeeper that all right?
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Oh I want to see that?
Speaker 4 (44:41):
Yeah, he's all right, here we go.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Would you like to see my ass?
Speaker 4 (44:47):
There's a cut to Ramos of like, is this guy
for real?
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Like do I shoot him?
Speaker 4 (44:53):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (44:55):
Yeah? Just looking over his shoulder. If he went full
Jedi and then.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Stopped it, it would be the greatest save in the history.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Of the world.
Speaker 4 (45:04):
Yeah, it doesn't work, you're just telling you.
Speaker 5 (45:12):
And it's but uh, but this is the type of
character that we can expect. He also does in Leagus
Cup Magic Tricks. This is him pulling again. Sports entertainment
is Leg's Cup. This is not not serious sports entertainment, Like, yeah.
Speaker 6 (45:33):
We get to see some teams that we don't normally
see on a day to day basis, So yeah, yeah,
think of it as entertainment.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (45:43):
Also, latest Antic, I'm so sorry, Craig, but you'll you'll
you'll appreciate this. This is what he did in the
Houston match, he's pulling his own shirt to get.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
A call, so he's like, hey, they're pulling my shirt.
That's you jerk.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Man.
Speaker 5 (46:02):
Well all right, I love this guy, all right.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
It'd be funny looking over his shoulder.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Oh look, oh my god, that's amazing. All right, let's
hear from the head coach. I love this man, Mikey
about us. Tough week for Mikey. What you got for us?
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Mikey?
Speaker 8 (46:28):
What are the differences in preparing now you're squad and
entering two different tournaments in terms of recovery, in terms
of game planning, what is that different and their nuances
to that?
Speaker 7 (46:38):
I would say the only there's no real nuance right
now because we've we've been playing with a quick turnaround.
So it's just about recovering the group using video to
uh provide confidence in the things that we did well,
and then also make little adjustments at the details level
to make us prepared. And then as a tournament goes on,
obviously I think more nuances will will come about.
Speaker 8 (47:00):
And then is there any differences in studying Lega and
mak these teams in terms of the way that they
played had mentioned just in just squeezing the gamesmanship aspect
a little more with a choked this last match. Now
going into data, is there something that's added attention in
that sense?
Speaker 7 (47:16):
Yeah, no, I mean we spoke with the leadership committee.
Speaker 9 (47:19):
We were ready for that.
Speaker 7 (47:20):
We know that Latino teams South American. You know, we're
good at understanding that games, gamesmanship and so. But until
you experience it as a group together, you know, you
can never be fully prepared. And I think now that
the group has a collective experience with it, I think
(47:40):
each step of the way will be more and more
prepared at the end of the day. What I really
liked was it we didn't let it fluster us really
a little bit until the end. But I thought we
showed a lot of composure early on and just playing
our game, focusing on the next action in being us.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
How did that hit you, Greg?
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Pretty solid? Pretty solid?
Speaker 1 (48:03):
You know, don't let it bother you, move on, Kobe mentality,
next shot, next opportunity.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
I like it. I think this guy is not long
for San Diego.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
Basically, I think Mikeyboas is one of the better head
coaches I've seen. I think he's one of the most
authentic people I've encountered in professional sports, and I trust
him pretty implicitly, to be honest with you, I trust
him and I trust his ability to teach a young team,
and I think continuing to gather his proteges from the
(48:39):
USMNT under twenty is.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
A pretty good idea. Let's see how it works.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
If I actually ask him for a player profile from
each of these kids to see if we can you know,
what does he seeing them?
Speaker 4 (48:52):
See if I can.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
Hold this up with us.
Speaker 7 (48:55):
So he's a fullback I think kind of like a
mixed profile, responsible story defender, who can get who can
get forward his tidy in possession. We have Pedro Soma,
who who just arrived and he's building fitness to get
fully like his minute like potential higher. But he's a
(49:18):
number six, number eight, really clean on the ball, really
good at interpreting spaces and playing inside a collective, but
and also has.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
Ball winning ability.
Speaker 7 (49:28):
We have David Vesquez's coming from from Philly. Davida shows
a tremendous work rate in terms of pressing, so he
comes from a pressing club, but he's also got a
really good technique and good attacking ability. So we're interested
to see how how how that all of those things
translate from the young guys. Uh at the next.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Level, let's go.
Speaker 6 (49:55):
I think something that we didn't bring up when it
when it came to Aiden her Angie, I liked a
few minutes that I saw out of him. I thought
he played better than Verhoven, because anytime Verhoven had the ball,
he he was trying to get it through to his space,
but it just kept getting blocked and he then he
would try again, it would like it would happen again
(50:16):
and just kept happening for him, and he just couldn't
find the that that pass that he was trying to
get through. And then her Angie was there for the
the the assist at the very end, and I thought that,
you know, I saw, you know, a better ball movement.
I liked that he went a little bit further down
(50:37):
the pitch than what Verhoven does. He kind of stopped
short a little bit from the penalty box sometimes and
tries to get a pass in and tries to pass
it to over in the.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
In the midfield.
Speaker 6 (50:49):
But yeah, I liked the little bit that I saw
from her ANGUI hope hopefully we get to see more.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
We've still got sound from Tomas on Hill, who should
these matches as the opportunity of his career to try
and get something done to move his stock up to
the point that he gets the next center forward start
and doesn't lose his job to a kid like Vasquez.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
Let's hear what tomasn Hell has to say.
Speaker 8 (51:23):
Thank you Tomasky. Just take us through the differences, maybe
in the way that the game feels and facing Iliga
Meki's team. Now you've faced America and a friendly you
face Patuca, now moving into thas here tomorrow.
Speaker 9 (51:36):
Yeah, I know, like I said, it's a different league
where they probably can sit back and wait with more
patients and try to counter attack that like an indifference
or what I've seen from the MLS teams is that
they will also sit back, but it's more.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Give and take.
Speaker 9 (52:01):
So it's just how we quickly adapt and find those
spaces and just try to hurt them when we create
those options.
Speaker 8 (52:10):
And then what is it like playing where you know
some may say that Lega Megas teams have some tap
into the good games and ship aspect of the of
the game. How does it feel, you know, when there
are certain aspects where moments are squazed out or just
pauses with play it on the floor.
Speaker 9 (52:27):
Yeah, Mexican teams know how to manage the games, know
how to take it at their tempo, and we just
have to always adapt to it and try to take
them out of their comfort zone. And it's it's it's
the first time we were in this competition, but for
(52:47):
sure we're going to go with everything we have and
then the last two games and hopefully qualifying and keep
fighting for the for the couple.
Speaker 8 (52:56):
And then after the America Friendly, you score a blasso,
but then you were a little bit self critical about
the performance and moving forward that way. How have you
grown since that moment and now getting more minutes under year.
Speaker 9 (53:08):
Obviously as a as a striker, you you wish to
score more goals. I think it's since that game, I've
had a couple of goals and it's it's helped me
a little bit of my confidence. But I'm hungry for more.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
I'm hungry for.
Speaker 9 (53:26):
To help the team to keep winning, to to keep
fighting for for every title we have in stake this year,
and and just I'm faithful that it's going to open
and and obviously goals and goals are going to come.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
Good luck to Tomas Onhell. I hope he's right.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
He's a young guy that could still continue to improve
and become a big part of the future oh San
Diego FC. The fact that he hasn't scored in some
of his recent performance doesn't necessarily indicate that he will
never score for San Diego FC or he'll never be
a positive option at the nine, But it would really
(54:09):
behoove him.
Speaker 2 (54:11):
To get it rolling and start to give his coaching.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
Staff a little bit more that they can hang on
to in terms of what on Hell can do compared
to again, the next kid in on loan or in
Vartzen back from injury. Eventually there's going to be some
optionality for this club at center forward, and eventually they
(54:37):
have to have an answer there. They're not going to
get to the Promised Land without getting something out of
that spot.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
And you know, Milan hail Fellow, well met.
Speaker 6 (54:49):
Yeah, I'm rooting for the guy and he actually I
thought he played better in this match. And we saw
the first minute in when he kind of turned and
shot got a shot on target, and yeah, that's kind
of what what you want to see at at and yeah,
we we just want more like positive contributions, even if
(55:11):
it's an assist or not getting in the way of
under his dryer sometimes just you know, I think he
just needs to be a little bit more more aware
and just you know, be be he Also the other
thing about him in this match was like, yeah, he
didn't see dryer on his right side and try to
(55:34):
get into Chrukey and then Chokey had a shot.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
On goal and try was like wide open. Like that.
Speaker 6 (55:40):
That awareness just needs to be a little bit more heightened,
and I hope that we we yeah, we see. You know,
these are the minutes that on how should be playing in.
You know, give him these next two games to to
kind of try to figure it out. Because we haven't
heard anything official yet or anything rumor or reported that
(56:01):
we're bringing in the striker just yet. So if you know,
it might just be uh on hell Balakari.
Speaker 3 (56:12):
Vosquez. Yeah, that's it might just be it. But so
I hope, you know, I'm rooting for the guy.
Speaker 6 (56:19):
I hope he can figure it out.
Speaker 5 (56:21):
On the injury report, Chris Pmickveay is slated to come
back on the bench for this match. So I asked, Hey,
who's who's on the men, Who's the closest to it,
and that's what we have Chris Pickvay back to the TOMT.
It's not gonna really quickly though, you know, I just
hope for his sake, it's not a situation where and
you know, you find strikers that that go into this
(56:43):
where they just can't score on open play and then
they rely and they score off of set pieces, and
that kind of brings a false confidence where it's like, yeah,
he scored, but you lost through to one against Stig.
It is, but what a goal, right, You're you're still
you know, thinking about that moment with I made it right,
like that's possible, but you need to have the production
(57:03):
in transition with this style of play to be effective
as a striker, and also with Thomas, like you know,
I really hope the best for the guy, just because
there's no other options. And guess what, there's no Dryer
to get in the way. There's a chance that this
may be something that gets unlocked because he doesn't have
(57:24):
that kind of person in the back to always have
that second feeling of like maybe I should pass it,
maybe I should let Dryer take it.
Speaker 4 (57:31):
That's that self doubt.
Speaker 5 (57:33):
No, he's not there I have to step up, and
this is an opportunity for Tomas Hank Tomorrow to go
ahead and do exactly that and step up.
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Question last thing for me, honestly for the show tonight.
And it's just kind of like a fun thought experiment.
But with with Dryer out, we assume Lozano will start,
we assume on Hell will start. More likely plugmighten in,
or could Vasquez see the field, or could Volacari move
(58:06):
up as he's done multiple times and Soma sees the field?
What do you think is the more likely of those
three scenarios?
Speaker 3 (58:15):
Possibly? What in in you you mean in Dryer's spot.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
Correct Micah or Volacari moves up and Soma plays midfield
or Vasquez gets that play.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
I think it's.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Martain he gets, he gets the minutes.
Speaker 4 (58:36):
Would you be surprised if Emma Bulletin get the start?
Speaker 1 (58:39):
Oh yeah, Bo Tang Yeah, and the old man plays sixty.
Speaker 5 (58:46):
Sure, And then you bring that change of pace with
Alex Manton in the second half, and and you know,
I think there's clearly been a departure from Matin and
the trust that he had early on the season to
get those starts, because he's just not necessarily going with
that right to right to dream play style, and he's
kind of doing his own thing and trying to go
through literal matter and legs.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
It just doesn't work that way.
Speaker 5 (59:07):
Balls are not you know, they can't go through solid
matter and human beings. You have to go around them sometimes.
But uh, you know, this is kind of the X
factor that he has. But you know, I can see
my starting. I can see this. But you know, Mikey's
been very much praising Emma Bulletang as of recently in
his performances, So maybe he's earned a start here. You know,
(59:30):
not too sure, but it'll be interesting against THEUS. It'll
be a show. People will be hopefully entertained, and we'll
see it was a very low attended match, just relatively speaking.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
You know.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
Obviously, Tuesday weird.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
Tuesday eight o'clock start.
Speaker 2 (59:48):
By the way, I hate the eight o'clock starting.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
If there's one thing that makes me want to go
to the Padres game over as he see tomorrow more
than anything else, it's a six forty first pitch and
an eight eight o seven kickoff at Snapdragon, which means
if I take the if I stay the whole match
and take the trolley home.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
I have no shot at getting home before eleven.
Speaker 6 (01:00:17):
That's right, Yeah, that's that's a long night for these
late leagues cup matches. And I think La Galaxy just
kicked off too, not that long ago.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
So yeah, these are some late starts.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
I mean for the chance to see us potentially get
abused by t Grise.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
You know, like.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Maybe they should have put the second League's Cup ticket
out of my season ticket package and put the third
one in. By the third one at this point is
rough sledding Forrest DFC.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
But I digress.
Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
Hey, let's look on the League's Cup really quickly. Don't
mind Craig.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
What what's going on right now?
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
We got uh.
Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
Yeah, we got christmasul and Sounders that have and then Galaxy,
oh man.
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
And a referee institution here losing refs. It's getting rough's there,
load management, guys.
Speaker 4 (01:01:21):
Come on, all right, Can anybody in the audience play drums?
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Can anybody anybody? Oh my goodness?
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
All right, guys, that's gonna be it for this one.
San Diego f C rumbled by Pachuca, but uh, we'll
see what brings. It's going to be a young team
moving forward, and honestly, it's all on you guys Friday
against Win a game and get me interested. Otherwise I'm
(01:01:58):
going all the way forward the next MLS match.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
You're going lega Ammy Weddy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Huh what are we doing, Alex? Tell everybody what they
can find when they check after mad f standwarding.
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Yeah, I'll recap.
Speaker 6 (01:02:15):
You know, these two matches from Lee's Cup and kind
of you know, talk about where we're at, where we're
standing and if we have a shot at advancing on
Over at Chromatics FC.
Speaker 3 (01:02:27):

Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
I spent a whole lot of today focused on the
Major League Baseball trade deadline over at Padres Hot Tub,
where we put out a two hour long live trade
Deadlin reaction show with all of our patrons. You can
join that group at patreon dot com, slash padres hotep.
We actually were so big today that we had to
(01:03:10):
have patrons boost the server to increase the size of
the stage because they were turning turning people away who
was like, Nope, sorry, you need to go up a
level in order to let more people in.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
So we had a lot of fun over there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
You can check out that show and get part of
a community that's rallying for a division championship in a
World's championship, and we can only hope and dream that
when MLS playoffs turn around, that SGFC can have those
same thoughts, dreams and ambition.
Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
League's Cup.
Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
What is it new?
Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
Is there a cup? If they built the cup, it's
the cup been made yet? Well they made a scarf.
Tell me if you want me to get excited. We'll
find out as the week goes on.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Until then.
