how Medicare works in general. Wetry not to talk about any individual companies

(00:47):
or that type of thing, justtry to give you a good idea on
the basics parts A, B,C and D you know, medicaures supplements,
Medicare managed drug programs, and allof the changes that are going on
this each each an individual year.So again, if you know someone that
needs to attend that type of event, please have them give us call five

(01:07):
sixty three three five nine oh eightfive four love to get them set up

pm out at the k site.Happy that their flooding is over and we're
able to get back in and usethe facility. So yes, very exciting.
So again, turning sixty five meetingsare always great to attend a little

(01:32):
bit ahead before you're turning sixty fiveand need to make that decision, just
so you can get some of yourgeneral questions answered. And then lots of
times people come in and meet withRob one on one to make the selection
and get more of those specific questionsreviewed and answered. So again we're happy
to get you on the RSVP listor schedule one on one meeting with Rob

been over a decade strong for oneof television's most popular history loving partnerships.
American Pickers may be the hit showon the History Channel, but Antique Archaeology

(02:17):
holds a special place in the heartsof Leclair locals, including show host Mike
Wolfe. For him, the mostbeautiful aspects of picking are usually the least
attractive. We're talking dirty fingernails, rust covered metal, and even those tough
negotiations with strong willed owners and collectors. All these bits and pieces work together
to create this everlasting story of howclosely tied are present is to history's past.

(02:43):
That's right, it's all there inLeclair. We can't wait to see
you. When it comes to choosinga Medicare plan, Blue is affordable,

Kane and Lindsay and Kenlly Washington.Happy to be here with you today.

(04:15):
So yeah, like Lindsay said, you're going to touch based on some Leclair
stuff, home on auto stuff. But speaking of the like Leclair, Leclaire
Chamber. We had our annual dinnerevent the twenty seventh of January and that
was a good event. We heldit out at Steventon's and of course the
food was fabulous. It's always goodattendance. Everything went really good. We

(04:36):
weren't able to sell the donated setof braces. There is a minimum on
that, so unfortunately we didn't getthat done this year. But you know,
it's not every year that someone inthe group needs a set of braces
or themselves or their kids. Now, of course I'm focusing those of you
who have listened to the show forill know, I you know, volunteer

(04:58):
time with Mississippi Lli Sportsmen as wellas the Claire Chamber. And now that
event's coming up March second, outof the Fairgrounds, and you know,
that's always a great event. Wealways have, you know, a little
over three hundred people generally attend. We give away thirty guns, we have
live auctions, silent auction items, you know, raffles, just all kinds

(05:24):
of fun stuff going on with that. Again, if you'd like information,
I like to get a ticket form, you know, give me a call.
I'm sure we've got it posted upon the website. Or website on
Facebook, you know, keep aneye up for that Mississippi Valley sports men
not sportsmen. But yeah, otherthan that, that's a great event where

(05:45):
you know, collecting donations if youwork with a company or have something you
would like to donate. I hada goal one of my customers donated for
large eagle prints, you know,if they were framed up and everything that
she didn't want anymore. So anythinglike that is well appreciated. We do
have donation forms, you know,if you do want to make a donation,
you know, for your taxes, just like because if you're donating it

(06:08):
to goodwill or whatnot. So again, excited about that. We're Lindsay's going
to talk a little about some homeaudo stuff for you as well. But
yeah, if you want information onthat, give me called five six three
three five four. Yes. SoHome and Auto has been a wild ride

(06:30):
for the last twelve months. We'vebeen seeing drastic changes in coverages and premiums
available. So just kind of wantedto touch base and review with people.
I am busy working on requoting.I would say probably eighty percent of my
customers they typically are calling with theirrenewal increases and we are shopping around.

(06:53):
With that being said, maybe aboutfifty to fifty right now that we're able
to move them and find some savingswithout adjusting coverages. So a lot of
carriers have put in place with newbusiness higher minimum wind in hail deductible requirements.
So typically in years past, Iget issue a home with one thousand

(07:15):
dollars all perils deductible and one thousanddollars wind in hail deductible. Not all,
but most carriers are implementing a percentageand or a twenty five hundred dollars
wind hail deductible. And that's justdue to the drastic amount of claims that
we have had that are related towind and hailstorms over the last two,
three, four or five years herein the Midwest. Again, I know

(07:36):
if touch based on it for theMidwest is the highest paid insurance claims region
simply due to our drastic or greaternumber of storms, the frequency, and
how widespread they are. So whenthat windstorm comes through, it's sweeping across
all of Iowas or we're seeing lossesacross the entire state, versus typically most

(07:58):
people are gonna think that, youknow, Florida has the hig is paid
claims because those hurricanes, and yes, those individual losses may be higher,
but due to the frequency and amountof damage that we're getting here in the
Midwest, we are much higher totalpayout claims in our region. This for
this region. So with that beingsaid, we are having drastic changes in

(08:20):
premiums and coverage options availability. Soagain, take a look at your renewals.
Some companies are implementing certain changes atrenewal. You also may see so
double check your deductibles haven't changed. You also may not see any change in
your inductible, but just a hugeincrease in premium, So that may be

(08:41):
an indicator to you to look toadjusting that deductible. So again, typically
the higher the deductible, the higherthe deductible, the lower the premium.
So if you've got a huge rateincrease but you're still carrying, you know,
a thousand, a thousand deductibles, you're getting quotes. You're not finding
any sea keeping a thousand thousand deductibleto compare. Call your current carrier,

(09:05):
have them quote you with taking oneor both of those deductibles a step higher.
Typically you're gonna be able to gofrom like a thousand to fifteen hundred
and then maybe to two thousand,if not to twenty five hundred. Play
around with those and see if thecost savings is worth making that adjustment.
I've reviewed with a few different customers, you know, adjusting deductibles, and
sometimes you know you're saving a couplehundred bucks a year, sometimes you're saving

(09:28):
quite more. And if you're nottaking too big of a jump from deductible,
you know, a couple of yearsno loss, you're gonna eat up
that savings towards your deductible, soyou'll be breaking even in the long run.
So again, those are some optionsavailable on the auto. It's not
as rough currently, and we areable to find a little bit of savings

(09:48):
on auto here and there, Soagain take a look at that. If
you have not completed or participated inone and you're not able to find savings,
inquire if your current carrier has adriving program. A lot of these
driving programs may give you an initialdiscount just we're en rolling, maybe ten

(10:09):
percent, So you know, ifyou're looking at a one thousand dollars policy,
a ten percent discount is going tobe one hundred dollars off, which
is you know, a pretty goodchunk of change if you're looking at like
a six month thought of so definitelyinquire about those. Some not all programs,
but some carriers have programs that donot negatively impact you, so you

(10:31):
know, you complete it for sixtyninety days and get your results and it
will not negatively impact you. Thereare some programs that do not impact you
negatively and it's simply a participation discount. So as long as you are participating
and providing that data, you'll beable to retain that discount. Some programs
are the better you drive, thebigger the discount. So one of my

(10:54):
carriers, for instance, you participate, you get an initial five percent discount,
you complete after I believe there's asixty day program. You get your
score, and then you qualify forup to a forty percent discount. And
with this, once completing this program, that forty percent discount or whatever discount
and qualify for stays on your policyfor the life of the policy, so

(11:18):
it does not drop off. Soeveryone know you're going to continue to get
a base rating, potentially an increase, but then you're going to get that
forty or thirty five or twenty percentdiscount on top of whatever that rate increase,
so it will always retain on thepolicy, which can be very helpful,
especially when we're getting into years likethis year where it's just rough across

(11:39):
the board. So again there aresome options. Again, don't be afraid
to ask for you know, homea audo quotes together. But also and
when I'm running into quite a bitright now, i have one carrier that
is doing very well on homes inIowa particularly, and another carrier that's doing
very well on auto, and sowhat we're having or seeing a lot is

(12:01):
breaking up the home an auto toget the most saving currently because even the
bundled discount is not overall a win. So there are options. You just
have to play with numbers to readjustand reset and refigure what the best setup
is for you. Again, don'tincrease your deductible if you're not comfortable with
that amount. So don't take yourdeductible from five hundred to one thousand if

(12:26):
you're not going to be prepared tohave a thousand dollars portion of covered if
you have a loss. So definitelytake a look. If you have questions,
give us a call five six threethree five nine zero eight five four.
We're always happy to take a lookshop around see what is available or
what we can find for you.So now into some fun stuff, because
I did want to take a momentto kind of talk about what's going on

(15:24):

the house next weekend. So again, the Claire's got lots going on.
