And welcome to our special presentation, our special prediction show
as Money in the Bank is this Saturday in Englewood, California,
in Hollywood, Ladies and gentlemen, this Saturday, seven pm Eastern No.
(01:01):
Four pm Eastern seven pm NO four pm Pacific time
on the West coast seven pm on an East coast, Ladies,
and gentlemen on Peacock do not miss. It is going
to be one hell of event. And we got a
stack card coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Stack card, my ass. There's only four matches, Dang.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I thought it'd be more. I saw that and I
was like, damn, only four.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, they're on some weird issue right now.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
They've been really been on a triple h and I mean,
I can I kind of can't blame them, especially after
what we saw this past Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
And what is that you're referring to.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
I'm referring to to the last match, the fact that Okay, well,
the week before that, they announced on Friday that the'll
be a qualifying match for the last spot in the
Immense Money to Bengal out a match between seeing Punk
aj Styles and El Grande Americano.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
The Pride of Mexico.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Right right, But anyway, when you look at this match, Kurt,
you're kind of like, oh, this is all in Punk's favor,
Like this is a golden opportunity for him, just waiting
for him. Right. So the following week, this past Monday,
on Raw see Him. Punk opens the show and he
cuts a promo pretty much like, look, I need to
(02:22):
be champion again pretty much saying, hey, I could go
after my friend Jay Uso, or I could go after
that fraud John Zena. And then Sammy's A comes out
and he's pretty much motivating him to tell him like, look,
you need to win this for you. Don't worry about
me and Jay Usso and everybody else. You need to
(02:44):
focus on you and getting this job done and if
and when you do win the money in the Bangladder match, right,
he's pretty much saying, Hey, this next conversation is not
going to be the same. He's pretty much I'm coming
after you to become a champion. And great promo, no sorry,
(03:04):
great segment between the two that was just the perfect
way to just started because you like, look see him Punk,
you know he's already feeding with seth rawlins. That would
have been perfect to this is a perfect way how
they did it, but it didn't really turn out that way.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Later that night, Yeah, basically they had the match with
Punk Americano and AJ Styles and then Punk had the
match one, and then Bronson Reid and bron Breakers showed
up in Attack Surprise, and then and then that led
to Americano taking advantage of hitting AJ Styles with the
head butt with the metal plate in his mask and
(03:40):
got the win.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
So now Americano's and the money in the bank.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I guess that makes somewhat sense because he's still feuding
with Pentas, so I guess they'll play out that feud.
But yeah, this was Punk's match to win, and like
it's like one of the biggest pls of the year,
and like Rilin's already qualified the week before and Punk
attacked him afterwards. Yeah, I felt like all roles were
leading to Punk, you know, winning, and then for whatever reason,
they did this ship.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah, and regardless though Punk is not on the card,
that's weird. He's I know he's gonna get involved in
that match. I know he does. I know he is,
but just the fact that he's not on the card
is just is odd.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Man.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
And there's this post that I saw see like, look
read listen to this. Vince's philosophy is don't waste TV
time building up a match you're not gonna do. Paulove's
philosophy is build up a whole bunch of stuff to
make people think they're gonna think that Punk is gonna
(04:40):
win for sure, so it throws them off.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
It's more in the sense of like you know, teasing
a whole bunch of matches to make people think that
they're gonna get them, but they don't get them. Kind
of like the raw before the World Rumble when they
tease the Punk and Cody match possibly happening and were
getting it, and they were teasing a whole bunch of
different scenarios like you know, Drew against Roman, all this
of the jazz, and yet we got none.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Of that, right, But I mean stuff like that. I
don't like that sometimes, you know what I mean? Like
this right here, this is one of the criticism that
the fans are talking about that Triple H is getting.
And I look, it's been mixed. If I had to
give from one through five on what's been going on
(05:31):
ever since well not since Triple A has been in charge,
I think ever since the TKO merger, I'll probably give
it like three and a half.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Okay, that's fair. And the thing with Triple H also
is just the fact that there's like no defined roles
as far as like babyfaces and heels go for like
certain people at like certain storylines are kind of like
taking forever, so like you know, payoff and forever to
like you know, have something exciting happen, like Ben Balarin
Dominic myster. They've been teasing issues between them with since
(06:01):
like last November, and like you know, they still haven't like.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Really efficiently broken up or split up yet.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yeah. And they were teasing Rollin's turning heel all the
way back to like you know, like Survivors series time,
and they didn't turn them he'll all the way until WrestleMania.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
M hmm.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, things like that, and not to mention doesn't do
himself any favors by saying it. Interviews, Oh, stop criticizing,
stop being critics, Just enjoy what we give you. Yeah,
that kind of approach and that kind of response also
wasn't helping your cause.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yeah. I just felt like the decision to have Grande
Americana win was just not the right decision. Look, I
have nothing against some I like him, you know what
I mean. But it's just like when you when you
watch that promo in the beginning of Raw, It's like
it's all leads upon being in this match. It's the
perfect setup. Look I look at you, look at the
(06:54):
you look okay, you look at the people in this
match for the men's money, the Bank match, right, you
got Okay, it's somewhat decent. Okay, you've got Solo so CoA,
l A Knight, Penta, seth Rawlins, Andrade and El Grande Americano. That.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, some of the people who qualify for this match
are a little sketchy, like Solo Socola and Andrede is great,
but he hasn't done anything in months. And they sacrificed
Carmelo Hays and Jacob Fatu for Andradi, who like doesn't
really do much these days. Yeah, it's a little sketchy. Yeah,
they sacrifice in this case.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Yeah it is. I think, I mean, you no offense
to everybody, but like this is kind of like a
weak ladder match on the men's part.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, it could be a little better, but I think
it will still be good. I think they'll still you know,
go out there and kill it. But yeah, it's a
little sketchy. Uh, some of the people they excluded from it.
But the women's one looks solid. The women's one I'm
very excited for.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I love it more than the men's.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
As recent Raw called up.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Stephanie Vacuer qualified for the final spot this past Monday
on Raw and A triple threat against liv Morgan and
Ivy Nile. Also last Friday on SmackDown My Girl, Naomi
qualified after she defeated Jade car Gill and Naya Jacks.
So the card for the women is especially said as
we have Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Julia, Roxanne Perez, Stephanie Vacour
(08:19):
and Real Ripley.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yes, I like this lineup, Like yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Honestly I have to add, like what I will you know,
give triple h this despite like you know, some of
the false we've been seeing the show the last few months,
the women's division feels a lot stronger now.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I have to admit that she's a lot stronger, especially Ron.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
It's balance, it's very balanced.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
It's you have your like, okay, you really think about it, Kurt,
you're bigger, your big stars, like you know, Bianca Bella,
Rea Ripley, your top stars.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
They're not the champions. But who else who are the champions?
Sky's a champion, Tiffany Stratton is a champion.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Those are your upcomers. It's balance a Libra Valkuira. You
got to throw in there too with the women's icy title.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yes, yeah, it's very balanced, and it just it makes things,
you know, interesting work the top guys, they're not always
the champion all the time, you know what I mean,
So when stuff like that happens, it's good.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
And also the women who aren't even the champions right
now like feel interesting in the most recent call ups,
like you know, Roxanne Perez now being involved with Judgment Day,
and stephan Ricor she already has like a lot of
momentum right now, and Julia. I'm sure Julia will do well.
And Naowei even though she's not the champion, like really
and that kind of makes she's still killing it, doing
some of the best work of her career. So yeah,
(09:42):
this division is really in good hands right now, and
I'm liking where it's going.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, because of the storyline, and the storyline that she's
in right is it doesn't involve a championship. That what
makes it even better. So yeah, I would have to say, Kurt,
this would probably be the women. The year is not
even over yet, we're only in the middle of the
year so far, I think this is their best here.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, it's looking like that way, and I think it'll
definitely play into what we see in the women's Money
in the Bank. This Saturday. I did like on Friday
that segment between Bianca because she was in her hometown
and also Naomi or Naomi basically told her you better
watch out or you're gonna end up in a wheelchair
just like your mom. Wow, and talking about she broke
(10:27):
into the house, talking about how she broke into her house,
and it was like looking at the pictures and like
looking and like talking about montes for talking about how
montes Fort needs to eat some of her cake because
it was his birthday the other day. M Yeah, I'm
loving this new Naomi Son. I'm loving this.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Noon, Naomi.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
So with that being said, since we already started talking
about money in the Bank, let's get into our predictions,
let's do it right now.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Okay, So let's just go ahead and start with this match.
So we have their Women's Money Bank Louder match. And
as the people you just said, Alexa Bliss, Rox and
Perez Ripley, Julia, Naomi and Stephanie Vakira. I'm a little
bit surprised, a little bit disappointed that Live Morgan didn't qualify.
I thought she's going to qualify, but she didn't. But
(11:10):
at the same time, I'm very happy for Stephanie Vakira.
I love her. I'm so happy that she's in this match. Hmm.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Not as happy as Booker T is.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Right exactly. See, this is very interesting because it's kind
of like hard to pick.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
You know, it's between three people. I think it's between
three people.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
It's between Rox and Perez, Naomi and Ray Ripley.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
No, no, Stephanie. I think it's between those. Okay, Okay,
Ria doesn't need it. Ria does not need it.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
She could just even if okay, let's just say she
loses the match, right, she can still go after EO
Sky like she wanted to be in the past. So yeah,
you're right.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, I think I'm matched for this to happen. Yeah.
And I think they're also gonna do EO and Live
from what we've been seeing so far on TV.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Okay, well you know what, it would make sense, Naomi.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, I'm gonna pick her too. I think Naomi gets it.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, with the stuff that she's been doing, the you know,
the storyline she was involved with Jay Cargill and especially
what she did to Biancabella this past Friday and on SmackDown,
with the heel heat that she's been getting, I think
Naomi is the right person to pick to win this match.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, Roxanne Perez and Stephanie Vacora. I wouldn't be mad
at if they want it, but I think that Naomi
should get it, I think out of all of them,
especially considering what Naomi was saying a few weeks ago
on the Bella's podcast about how like her career is
kind of winding down and this could possibly be her
last run. I feel like she should definitely have a
monumental moment in that last run with the money in
(13:00):
the bank. Win and I think she gets that year.
She'll have the case, have a nice run with it,
cash in and have one last title reign.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Okay, I can see that.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
So Naomi wins. So Naomi wins. Into the five other
women in the match, I suggest all of you proceed
with caution.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Okay, no pun intended? Right, all right?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
So, coming on from one women's match to another, we
have the women's Intercontinental title match, and honestly one of
the best parts of Raw over the last month, I
would say ever since WrestleMania. We have Live with Valkyria
defending her title against Becky Lynch.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
But there is a stipulation in this match, and I'm
not talking about not disqualification or anything like that. It's simple.
If Becky Lynch loses, she can no longer challenge for
the Women's IC title as long as val Kira is champion.
But if Live with Vakira wins, she'll be forced to
(13:57):
raise Lynch's hand and acknowledged Lynch as the better woman.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
And I think that's exactly what's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, Love of God, Kara got her victory, she got
that monumental win at Backlash, but you got to turn
the tide now. You gotta have Bick and Lynch to win,
so make the storyline interesting and better.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah. I mean, Larbra's been doing great work, like even
on a promo. She's been great like the last month
or so, and I feel like the people are starting
to get more behind her. But the way to really
really get the people behind her is for her to
chase Becky for the title for a little while. And
I think that's gonna happen following this match, as Becky
will be the second Women's Intercontinental Champion and Libral. Libral
(14:42):
will be forced to raise her hand and say that
she was the better woman on that night.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Yep. I think what's gonna happen is that she's gonna
raise her hand and then probably sucker puncher.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I wouldn't be against.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I could also see. I could also see Bailey possibly
showing up after and confronting Becky because of what happened
WrestleMania weekend. I definitely see like Barey somehow getting involved
in this in the coming weeks. But yeah, I think
in this match, I think Becky needs to win. Becky
lost the match last month, didn't hurt her any or
anybody really, but I think Becky gets.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
To win here.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
I agree. That's why I picked her. So you know
you gotta rap. Yeah, you know the crowd is behind her,
but like you said, you know, if you lose the
title and chase after her, you're gonna get really more
support from the crowd.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
So yeah, yes, and one person who deserves no support
is the person we're going to talk about in this
next match, as we have a tag team match which
includes the douchebag Fuck Logan Paul and ww champion John
Cena taking on World Heavyweight Champion jay Uso and the
returning Cody Rhodes.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Yeah, what you thought about that segment? That they had
on SmackDown this past Friday.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
It was good. The one weird thing about this is
that Cody kind of got screwed out of the titleia
and then he comes back after being gone for over
a month and his ideas to challenge John Cena to
a tag team match.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, with the look, with the exception that look. He
was helping Jay Usso because he was getting attacked by
both John Zena and Logan Paul, and he kind of like,
that's my only justification for that. But still still it
is a bit weird. We'll see what's gonna happen after.
We'll see what happens after. Maybe Cody will challenge John
(16:30):
Zena at SummerSlam. Maybe we'll see what's gonna happen. But
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
I think Cody Rhodes and Jay Usso win, and John
Cena possibly blames Logan Paul for the loss.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Logan Paul gets pinned. Now back to the segment that
they had on SmackDown. At the end of the segment,
John Zena and Logan Paul were kind of like going
at it a little bit towards the end, kind of
like not on the same page with each other. Apparently.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Honestly, I sincerely hope that happens that they lose because
of Logan Paul and John Senior does to Logan Paul
what he did to Bautista in twenty ten before Batista
went into retirement.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
But and their.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
I quit match when like John senor like dropped him
through like the like the stage area. Oh I don't yeah,
because like that's why Batista was in the wheelchair the
next night, and that's when they quit, and then he
was gone for a few years.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, that was like that match.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
I don't know, how do you do? You still feel
like this hill run from John Zenas It's not all
it's not worth it. It's just like, what's the whole point?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
It's been a mixed bag. I think the night had happened,
it was great, but then you know who decided to
disappear afterwards?
Speaker 3 (17:52):
That hurt.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Yeah, just in general, I think Senior's doing the best
he can, but yeah, just something about it.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
It feels a little off.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
It's just off. It's just it's not the same and
I feel the same way. I just feel like it's
just a little bit off it. This is really not him,
you know what I mean? And then your idea was
to do this, but you know who did not show up,
not only during the build up or at wrestle Man,
and it made things worse. So I just feel like
(18:23):
at a certain point before this year is over, he
needs to go back and being a babyface.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Oh he will. There's no way that he won't. There's
no way he's going to retire as a heel. That's
not happening.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
I know. It's just it's weird, and just the flow
of it is just I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Yeah, And honestly, out of all the matches on this card,
this is the one I'm interested in the least.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
But with that being said, I think it'll be fine
for what it is. But I do think Cody and
Jay Usso pick up the win. But I do think
Jay Usso is gonna take a really horrible beating in
this match, because going through's been like playing up the
last few weeks about how Jay was involved in his
friend's business, always helping out his friends, and he ends
up getting beaten up in the process, and he's going
(19:09):
to take advantage of that when they face each other
on Raw Monday.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
So I think I can't wait for that. That plays
into it.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, honestly, I'm looking forward to that match with Jay
and Gouro on Raw more than I'm looking forward to
this match of course, of course, because look, you have
a champion, you have a World Championship match on Raw,
come on now, Like it's one thing when you have
at a pl E, but when you have it on
your flagship show.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
That makes it even better, you know what I mean?
Like having a championship match on a show, Kurt is
a given, you know. And I heard like recently today
that last week's this past Monday rall the ratings was
the lowest that they have ever since they moved to Netflix.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Yeah, I've been hearing about that too. I like the
move to Netflix hasn't really been popping the way they
thought it would.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
I don't know. I hope the ratings are high for
this upcoming Monday Man with the championship match, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Yeah, it's a summer season. I think things will heat
up a little more. Hopefully this like Triple H, starts
to spice things up. Hopefully he's like less afraid to
take chances and we see some more spicy TV in.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
These coming months.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
But I do have Jay USSO and Cody Woods winning
this match, and I definitely think Jay Uso retains against
going through on Raw Monday because some kind of angle's
gonna go down. Yeah, some shit's gonna go down, where,
of course going Through is not gonna win. Possibly Goldberg
will show up and cross him the title because Goldberg's
rumored retirement match is supposed to happen this summer in
(20:40):
the South, and they're gonna be in the South for
Saturday Night's main event next month in Atlanta, so that's
the perfect place.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Yeah, perfect place, So that could.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Possibly happen, or money in the bank cashing could happen, yeah,
either or. But speaking of money in the bank cashings,
let's get into the men's money in the bank match
as we have La Knight, Solo Andrede Panta, Seth Freaking
Rallins and El Grande Americano.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
I want to say Seth rons to get more heat, right,
but Sampunk's gonna cost him the match.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Yeah, I think Sam Punk's cruise him. And with that
being said, with all the participants in this match, the
one person who I think is going to win money
in the Bank for twenty twenty five and the person
who needs it the most is l A Knight. Yeah,
I've been hearing a lot of chatter about him winning
so and look, I said this before wressell Mania.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
He is that guy. Even JBL said it on his
podcast too.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
He's that guy where he's on that next step to
compete for the world title, and he needed to lose
at US title Jacob Fatu at Manya, which he did
in order to get to the next step.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
This is the next step, and I can see him
doing it.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yeah, because he's kind of at a crossbolds right now.
He's not the US champion anymore. It doesn't look like
he's gonna get it back any time soon. So yeah,
like he needs another major win to keep it him
with him going and to get to that next time. Yeah,
I think it happens here also, and I think he
should definitely probably move to RA really yeah, because he's
(22:25):
pretty much done all he can on SMACKDWN. He's pretty
much feuded with everyone as far as the ww title picture.
He's not gonna be winning it anytime soon as long
as Seen is still around in Cody and all those guys.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
So I think I'll move to raw would be good
for him.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Okay, more potential there too. Yeah, I see, Yeah, I
mean Panther's great. I love Pencer, but I don't think
he's gonna win it. I don't think he needs it personally.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
Ronde Americano not gonna happen, solo Sokola definitely not gonna happen.
Andrede hell no, not gonna happen. No disrespect to those guys,
But it comes down to either La Night or Seth Rollins.
But if I had to pick one, I'm gonna go
with La Knights, considering, especially considering the fact that they're
going to be in La why not give it.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
To the due exactly?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Come on, now, it makes perfect sense, very much. So
it's all come on, It's all written in the stars,
man from now. So yeah, written in the stars is
a million miles away for such a horrible WrestleMania. It
had a really good theme song.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
It did. Yeah. But yeah, so there's our predictions for
money to bank Gladys and Gentlem But don't forget this Saturday,
four pm Pacific time, seven pm Eastern on Peacock.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yes, definitely check it out. As of now, we only
have four matches. That could be one more match added
possibly tomorrow and night on SmackDown. But yeah, as of now,
it's four matches, and yeah, kind of strange, especially if
you're paying for a ticket to go to these damn
shows you're only gonna get four matches.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
My friend Danny, if you remember him, he's he's going
oh clutch. Yeah, he told me that the other day.
You know, my cousin you know, hooked me up and tickets.
I was say, oh, cool man, that's what's up.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Yeah, I'm going to Summer Slam. I'm gonna get my
ticket this weekend. For SummerSlam. They go on sell this weekend. Now,
they've been on sale for a few weeks, but I'm
gonna get my ticket.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh I thought, okay, my bad. I thought they were
going on cell this week this weekend.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Okay, they're already on sale and I get to see
your favorite rapper, Cardi b Be the host, dude, the whole, which.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
A whole mess, I know, the whole. Stefan Diggs say,
oh my god, who I.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Don't I don't even give a ship. I really don't
even give a show.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
I don't care either though. I was just like, it's
just it's the NFL's prop. Well, not the NFL's problem
with Patriots problem. I don't know what they're gonna do
they're hearing. I was hearing rumors they may release them
after what happened, and it was whatever.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
I don't know, man, Honestly, her at off set.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Both seem a little toxic, aren't they.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Wait, they broke up. We're not together?
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Right, Yeah, they're getting divorced. Yeah, they're getting divorced.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Okay, Because I was like, I'm confused. I was like, wait,
are they are they together? Because it's like, wait, like
he was with she was with safe on digs at that,
at that at the boat party or whatever. So I'm
kind of confused.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
So I was like, okay, all right, all right, we've
talked about this ship long enough. Who cares?
Speaker 3 (25:29):
All right?
Speaker 1 (25:29):
So yeah, that's your money in the bank card. Summer
slams coming up in August two months from now. I
can't wait. Hopefully it's a Summerstam that keeps the momentum
going from what happened last year. But we'll cross that
bridge when we get to it. But one person, unfortunately,
who will not be a part of Summer Slam this
year is our truth. As he put out a tweet
this past Sunday stating that WW will not be renewing
(25:49):
his contract, so he is officially gonna be out of
the company.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yeah, and those devastating. He was very devastating to hear
that man. And he's he's that you could you could
say he's the goat when it comes to the comedy
role in WWE.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, the comedy relief. He's perfect at that.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
And yeah, between both Stints and WW, dating back to
his two thousand run, he's been in the company for
eighteen years. And yeah, he's like one of those people
kind of like Big Show with Mark Henry from a
few years ago that you thought would be lifers in
WW who would be around forever, but and thistko Era.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Apparently nobody's safe.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
No, And then it was just revealed was the other
day that the reason why that he was released is
because apparently WWE offered him a new contract, but it
wasn't really a whole lot of money, and he just wasn't,
you know, just.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
No, Yeah, they were going to offer him less money.
Apparently according to Coachman, take that with a grain of salt.
And also apparently this was also Triple H's decision because
of the fact that like you know, he's older and
for the money that he's making, it's not worth the investment.
And also with the I guess the new people coming
in from NXT, they want to make room for them,
but damn of all people, our truth son.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yeah, this one's really strange.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Definitely gonna be missed, but already was missed because apparently,
you know, during Raw, especially during the segment between seeing
Punk and Sammy's ay, and the fans were chatting, we
want truth.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yeah, and I think weo. Ripley was seen like wearing
an art truth sure backstage, and everybody's been coming up
with tweets or like putting out tweets about how much
they like them, how good of a duty is, how
much he's gonna be missed, and just how strange it
is that they would release somebody like him who sold
like University loved. And apparently this is like brought the
morale down backstage true to the point where like now
everybody feels like they don't have any job security anymore.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Man, speaking of money, but I was just reading a
little report that t kl's trying to kind of change
Roman reigns as a contract.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Yeah, So that's who apparently.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah, yeah, apparently he's making fifty million dollars a year,
but they want to apparently lower it. Haven't haven't made less? Yeah,
his motherfuckers are greedy. They're making all these damn money
and breaking all these damn records with the amount of
money they charge for tickets and all that jazz like
saying they did the high escape for this show, high
escape for that show in this city, in that city,
and yet they want to release all these random people
(28:21):
and cut costs from people they are already paying you
to see. Greedy ass motherfuckers. Man, Hey, man, I told
you I said this last week, ever since they a
whole Shenanikans with Russell Mania, when they decided at the
last minute, Okay, we're gonna take it away from Orleans
and put it back in Vegas. As a fan, I
now am starting to question uh TKO's decisions. Business decision making. Man,
(28:50):
I'm really questioning now has kind of gotten worse now
now with this. Yeah, it's just all weird. A lot
of it was very cutthrow very grimy in many ways,
but people just he was the excuse for it to say, like, yo,
it's just business. M which I can kind of get.
Even in our Truth case, I kind of get it.
(29:11):
But it's just strange because you just thought he would
be a lifeer, Like you just thought that, like he
always would have a rule on the show, like no
matter what, because he's just been around for so long,
and hell, he just had a Saturday Night's main event
match with John Cena two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Right exactly. But I could tell you what. I'll tell
you this though. I know he's gone though, but at
least we could say he has russell Mania moment a year.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Ago last year, Yeah, last year in the tag match
with Miss Yeah. Miss said that was even like the
best moment of his career was teaming with Our Truth Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
And I was really happy for them though, because I
remember they both go way back, and then for them
when that tag team titles at russell Mana, that was
a great moment. I loved it. Speaking of Miss I
heard that Miss unfollowed w W on Twitter. I believe after.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Honestly, he's another person who I think is insafe.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
I don't want him to get released, but it's very
possible that he could, like because the fact that.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
We haven't really seen him that much He's still.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
On TV with uh, what's his name, Carmelo Hayes. He
was on TV last week. Oh hell, Our Truth was
on SmackDown last week. He lost the Jeff Cobb. Oh yeah.
It's just really weird, Like you'll literally see these dudes
on TV one day, then the next day you hear
the getting released.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
And another person who just got released and whose contract's
not going to be renewed is Carlito.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah, it came out Sunday that he's also not going
to be resigning, and it's definitely apparent from the judgment
day skin we saw on Rob Mondey because the PlayStation
was gone.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Yeah. Man, it's just weird. I just I remember, look,
you go back to Backlash a couple of years ago, right,
and that huge pop that he got when he when
here in Puerto Rico. I knew that he was gonna
come back later, and he did. I was just hoping
that we were gonna get that same kind of like
that two thousand and four vibes of car Letero where
(31:09):
he's kind of like maybe he's getting pushed for a
mid car title or something like that, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I didn't see that happening. It was great that it
was great that he got the reaction and backlash. Year
was great and all, and he still has a lot
to offer. But just dudes like this in this stage
in their career, they're used more to establish the newer
and up.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
And coming talent. It's just how it goes.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Like when they brought back super Fly Jimmy Snooker like
in the late eighties, that's how they used him. When
they brought back Jake the Snake Roberts in the mid nineties,
like in ninety six, that's how they used him. When
they brought back like RBT like in twenty thirteen, in
twenty fourteen, they did the same thing with him. It happens,
man or at this stage in their career, they still
have value. They could still you know, produce, but at
this stage it's not going to be the champion. They're
(31:51):
not going to be like in the main events like that.
They're basically used to, you know, bring up the next generation. Okay,
but it's still sad to see the dude get released.
He was like a great comedic relief as a part
of the whole Judgment Day stable. He took those damn
spears from bron Breaker every week for like a good
month or so, even though he.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Get paid for taking those spears.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
There was that There was that once that went like
viral a few months ago where like just Breaker just
like hauled ass down to the island, just like broke
his ass in half. And not to mention that spear
through the announce stable of WrestleMania Holy Ship.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Do Michael Coles about to lose his voice?
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yeah, he said he might be dead. Yeah, he did
all that ship And that's this is how you were
baying him.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
I know, you better give him some insurance or something
like that. Man, give him a bonus. Give give that
man a bonus.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
M Yeah, but they released him and they said they're
not going to renew his contract.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Damn shame.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
They probably were being cheap, you know how like most
companies are. Then they're not going to give their employees
a ray, So give them a pizza party. I was like, nah, dude, no,
I hate that.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
But I would say, is one hell of a consolation
prize would be where kelbrot Rigaez agreed to go out
with him. Yeah, and I thought they were gonna eventually
could have you know, like you know get together. Yeah, man,
now there's still hope for me. Oh okay, I wonder
(33:24):
if she's vegan friendly. I don't know, man, because she
talks a lot about tacos. She loves her tacos, so
I watched her stories and everything.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
That's vegan tacos. I make them all the time.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
If I make dinner for her one night, you'll begging
to move in. But that's another story, all right. But anyway,
back to Carlito, But yeah, he did. He had a
good run these last two years. Like yeah, just that
stuff he was doing with like Raymond Stereo on LWO
and being a part of Judgment Day, like kind of
being the comedic relief. He had a fitting final line
when he was on Raw last week with like Ro
Sanferez and Dominic where he told Dominic to stop eating
(34:01):
your nuggets.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Yeah damn funny.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
Yeah, but it's a shame, man. I hate to see
people like just lose their jobs like this. I'm sure
they're both fine financially. I'm sure they've made enough money
throughout their careers, but they're not going to be starving.
But still, man, I definitely still feel for them. Obviously,
the people that work with them, feel for them because
if you know how much they contributed, I'm sure like
Dominic's probably bumped out about this.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
And yeah, everybody else in the crew.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Dominic was wearing a Carlado shirt this passed money on Raw.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Yeah, so apparently they were banned from wearing our Truth
shirts on the show.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I heard that too, Yeah, I heard.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, because I's saw the picture of Rio Ripley wearing
the Art Truth shirt like backstage from Raw Monday. But
then like when she had that brief segment with Stephanie Vakor,
she was just wearing a red top. Yeah, it's crazy, man,
like in this corporate world, this corporate greed bullshit. Yeah,
nobody's safe, even if you are a loyal soldier, even
if you put in work, put in years, and you know.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Do what's right. Yeah, they'll still treat you like this.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Yeah. And also, uh, Sarah Logan, I know we haven't
seen her in a while. She was a part of
from the War Raiders. She was like their their manager.
But Sarah Logan, she's also being released too.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
Oh really Yeah, she.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Put out a tweet the other day talking about it.
How Yeah, she's not gonna be getting renewed. She's not
gonna be brought back. Yeah, she was gone for a
while because she was pregnant, she had a baby. But
looks like kind of just like what they did with Carmelo. Yeah,
kind of like just like what they did with Carmela.
They're not gonna bring her back either.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
M I see what she made.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Yeah, too bad man. I know it's business. I know,
you know, it's a part of the game, but yeah,
it's still sucks to see people lose their jobs regardless.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Yeah, but hopefully maybe our truth maybe though, you know,
we sign him under her Legends deal, But then again,
he said he didn't want to resign because they were gonna
pay him less, and I'm sure the Legends will probably
agreest him what he was getting before. So so maybe,
you know, maybe he'll make some appearances here and there,
like maybe you'll, like, you know, do a cameo every
now and then or something, because I heard they're gonna
probably do the same thing with bron Strowman.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
So yeah, that's possible.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
We could still be around every now and then, but
he just won't be around every week.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Yeah. But at the end of the day, though, I
mean two him, Karla and everybody else who's being released,
you know, wishing nothing but the best for them.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Yeah, definitely, they had great careers. They they contributed a lot.
They'll be fine. They're gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Yeah. And I don't understand why people wh are upset
about this, specifically the people that work with them. I
can understand why all of them are upset. But at
the end of the day, unfortunately, these things do happen
in the wrestling business.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah, or any business for that time.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Basketball.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Basketball players get cut from their team, even my Knicks
they fire Tom Thibodeau the other day, which you'll get
into a later. Yeah, these things happen all the time.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, it sucks, man, but unfortunately it is what it is.
But one person who will now be a part of WWE,
after makeing her first appearance on NXT this past Tuesday,
is Mariah May.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yeah. Ever since she was released from AW, everybody was like, Okay,
she's going to go straight to WW, and we were right.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Yeah. It came out last Friday that she was removed
from the AW roster page and they were saying that
her you know, debut and WW was inevitable, but I
didn't expect to happen this soon. Holy shit.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, I would have been like, you know, like another month.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Or so, but damn, like four days later.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Yeah, that's pretty fast, fast work.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
But it makes sense for it because she had that
great few with time as Tony Storm like last year
going into this year, and just for the way it ended,
like the match they had a Revolution, there was like
nothing really else in aw she could do that would
be as big as that. So in that sense, it
makes sense for her.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
To come wwe yep makes sense.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the work that she
does there because she was killing it in that feud
with Tony Storm. That match they had at Revolution was
violent as fuck, son. That is by far the most
violent women's match I've ever seen. Hell, one of the
most violent matches I've ever seen, period.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
These women went to war, these women. They were both bleeding,
I know, but it felt like Tony was the worst.
I think there was even one spot where Mariah May
hit Tony Storm with like a broken bottle, like in
between her legs. My god, bro, But great few that
(38:33):
few they had throughout it was incredible, especially that ending,
and it was so fitting. After the matches over on
the screen it said the end brilliant, brilliant. So yeah,
she definitely earned her stripes in that feud, and I
look forward to seeing what work she does in WWE.
But she will not be having the same name Mariah May.
Apparently she's gonna have a name change, which is yet
(38:53):
to be announced.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Oh of course, I mean that happens everybody, even if
you like, even you go from WW to AEW, You're gonna,
of course gonna have a name change. Like, Okay, I
get it. Adam Copeland couldn't use edge, but cope that.
I still can't get over that.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
I still call him Adam Copeland. I can't call him Cope.
I can't cope.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
I can't. I can't. This doesn't sit well with me.
Doesn't sit well with me either.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
But Mariah May, welcome to the WW and look forward
to seeing what work you're do in the coming months.
But one person who's like really made an ass of himself,
especially over this last week, was Hall of Famer nature
boy Rick Flair. Add in the most recent suite after JR.
Jim Ross had his coldon cancer surgery last week. This
is what Flayir had to say. This is what this
(39:50):
fucking dude had to say. Jim Ross will always be
Jim Ross seeking attention. Just focus on your recovery.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Oh disgusting.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
What an asshole, son, What a fucking asshole. I've been
trying to just yeah, I've been trying to tone down
my use of the word fuck on this show, but
it has to be said in this case.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Yeah, I look, the dude just had colon cancer surgery, man,
you know what I mean, And you're wanting to reach
out to your fans and people who care about you,
love you, about your progress. That's all you're doing. It's
not seeking attention. It's just come on, and Flair, I
(40:38):
think he forgets. I mean, there's no justification what he said.
He forgets that we're living in a world where it's
social media, you know what I mean. It's not like
this is thirty forty years ago where you hear about
something and then oh, I'm gonna no, it's not that
(40:58):
time anymore.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
Man, different though, But regardless as this, come on, it's
embarrassing and discussing what Flaire said, Come on, man, Chances
are he was probably drunk when he tweeted that, which
is no fucking excuse, no excuse, no excuse at all,
no excuse, man. But just in general, he's been doing
this like in asinine kind of bullshit for years, Like
(41:19):
just the public he's been getting on on social media,
like he had a few with Becky Lynch on social
media a couple of years ago. Even Seth Rally's got
involved in him to the point where like Seth Rollin's
ignored him when Player tried to say hi to him once.
He's been making an ass out of himself for years,
like him and Hogan for whatever reason, for his legendary
as they are and for as many classic moments they've
been a part of in wrestling, they are like two
(41:40):
of the prime examples of people who like just tarnish
their legacy big.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Time and age don't mean anything. Just because you're older,
don't mean you're you know, doesn't make you smart or
anything like that.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Yeah, they has nothing to do with age. Is just
these dudes for whatever reason just can't let go of
the spotlight. Which is funny. That's Richard Flair to accuse Jr.
Of you know, always seeking attention when he's been notorious
for that for decades. Hell, he had that big retirement
at WrestleMania, just to come out of a retirement a
year and a half later.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Yeah, that was just dumb.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
All the womanizing, being in rap videos and all this
other jazz he's wanted to talk about, you know, seeking
attention and being desperate for attention.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Fuck out of here.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Yep, cancer, Come on, Yeah, the dude just had a
cancer operation. He's gonna be in recovery. He has a
long recovery ahead of him. And you're gonna accuse him
of seeking attention. And you and JR go way back.
Him and JR go way back to like the eighties.
And he claimed that he actually introduced JR. To his wife,
his wife who unfortunately passed away from the Carlacs a
few years ago.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
He claimed that he was the who we introduced them.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
And I guess maybe he still holds a grudge against JR.
For like the things he said about Flair on that
Dark Side of the Ring episode about the plane ride
from Hell. But what as a nine stupid comment to make?
Speaker 3 (43:03):
Yeah, bro embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
I wonder what his kids think about his behavior these days.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Honestly, Oh my god, Like Charlotte, Yeah, like grow up man, Yeah,
dude's seventy six years old and he still acts like
he's in his twenties.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Right.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Hell, Like even hearing those stories of him, like you know,
like wearing his robe and being naked underneath and like
flashing people like him doing that shit in his fifties,
You're like, bro, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Speaker 3 (43:38):
It was funny. Like earlier today, I read this quote
from Muhammad Ali was talking about if you view the
world the same when you're fifty, right like you did
when you're in your twenties, you wasted thirty.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Years of your life. I was like, whoa big time exactly.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
Even Triple H Punk had that discussion before Punk came back,
like and they were like, you know, talking about their issues.
That's like the main thing. Triple H said, Oh that quote. Yeah, Like,
you know, if you've still see the world the same
way ten years later that you did ten years before,
then you wasted a lot of time.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Oh yeah, you fuck up? Like you got to remember,
the world has changed. It's not the same as it
was back then.
Speaker 1 (44:22):
Yeah, you and I are not the same people we
were when we first met seven years ago or five
years when we first out of the show, and if
we were those same people we were, we wasted a
lot of damn time.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Yeah, you got to evolve and move on to different things.
You both graduate from college, you moved to We've been
in two places now twice. I'm in a relationship.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
I'm about to be a dad soon and yeah yeah, yeah, man,
it's sad and like, yeah, that combined with all the divorces,
the womanizing, the excess of drinking. The dude almost died
from drinking so much and he still drinks, right that.
I forgot about that. I forgot about that. Yeah he yeah, Like,
(45:04):
who are you to say that?
Speaker 3 (45:06):
Man?
Speaker 1 (45:06):
Come on, I I hate the fact that I have
to do this. Actually no, I'm kind of happy I
get to do this now. Rick Flair is going to
be the next victim on the conscious.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Kurt this list, Kurt, what's the That one area they
called was during during the bt Awarst show where all
the rappers were together. There's each that were taking turns spitting.
Speaker 1 (45:33):
C Yeah yeah, so Flair, if you hear this, just
know that I'm coming for you and your happy hour
drinks too. Those ties of a lot of their happy
hour drink Yeah, those my ties, those penicillans, those Margarita's,
(45:55):
they're coming with me, son, You're gonna take his skirt.
I'm doing him a favor. I'm doing him a favor,
and I can actually respond.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
You know what Rich Flair is.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Rick Flair is Apollo creating Rocky for when Rocky was
telling Apollo's like, man, you gotta change. It's like, I
don't want to change. I like who I am.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
This is worse.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
Oh god, I know that.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
Just that's what.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
That's like, the mindset that Flair has, Like he just like,
I don't want to change. I don't like, Bro, you
gotta it's not the same world anymore. Man.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
In some ways you have to. There's certain things about
yourself you can keep the same and that you probably
should keep the same, or there's other parts of yourself.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
That you have to evolve from. You have to you
have no tube.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
You can't be doing that no more, man, or if
you are, you have to keep it. You have to
have a balance and just tone it down a little bit. Man.
You just yeah, man, you can't be nah.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
And even another another like Rat yesterday another tweet where
you talked about how he makes three million dollars a year,
he gets paid three million dollars and how he doesn't
talk to people who aren't rich. And you'll never understand
what it's like to be famous. When you're famous like me,
this is how you live, this is what you do.
You wouldn't understand. Yeah, dude, just need somebody needs to
like delete this dude's Twitter account, all this social media accounts.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
And like, yeah, just put his ass into hiding.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
At least Kevin Durant stayed off the whole social media thing.
You saying nonsense, man, that's that right. There was a
change because I've not heard Kevin Durant talk any nonsense
on social media lately.
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Look, Kevin Durant has his faults, but like the way
he comes off online, definitely, but he's.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Not that bad. He's not that bad, well exactly. And
more importantly, I don't think he does it. He doesn't
even do it anymore. I don't even remember the last
time he ever said anything, you know, dumb or whatever
on social media.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Yeah, but it is.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
What it is.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
Unfortunately, some famous people they just don't know how to
add in public. They don't know how to act period,
and as a result, you get tweets like the one
Rick Flair put out about Jim Ross. Ye, but Jim Ross,
we hope you get well soon. With that aside, we
hope you get well soon. Thinking about you, I'm happy. Yeah,
I'm really happy that the surgery went well.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
Yeah. All he has to do now is just beyond
his recovery.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
And yeah, yeah, I don't like the insensitive assholes like
Rick Flair ruin your day or bother you. They're not
worth it.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Nope.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
So yeah, Jim Ross, I'm gonna get him for you.
I promise I'm gonna get him for you. Don't forget
the champagne, Curt Champaign, Yeah, fuck it, I'll take the
champagne too. Anyway. Anyway, Well, I was sipping some margaritas
(48:53):
on Saturday night. I was in a very kind of
downstate after my New York Knicks were eliminated from them
behave playoffs by the Pacers. Yeah, Kurt's the biggest thing,
the biggest thing. It was just such a fun vibe
out here with the Knicks being in the playoffs and
doing so well. It's just sad that it's over now.
Speaker 3 (49:13):
Hey, that's trust me.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
I I feel what you're feeling because I've been through that.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Before where it's like your team is on a good
run and it's like it's like it's it's the best
feeling in the world as a sports fan. You wanted
to continue, you have you have hope that like, oh
my god, like what if this is the year for us?
And then when it ends, it's just like it's it's
a very it's it's like a punching a gut feeling.
(49:40):
You're kind of like, man, I can't believe it's over,
you know what I mean? I know that feeling.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Yeah, But in all honestly, we lost that series in
Game one.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
I told you, even even everybody on first take said it, like,
if they lose this series, it was all going to
trace back to Game one, and it did.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
It's great that we, you know, pushed it to at
least six games, and I thought we had a chance
in Game six in the first half, but then that
second half just ft apart.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Yeah, yeah, it sucks, but I'm grateful that they at
least had the run that they did have this year
and that I was here to be a part of it. Yeah,
it was a great experience just to like be living
in New York with the Knicks doing well in the playoffs,
having a deep run in the playoffs. I'm it's sad
that it ended the way it did, but I'm at
least grateful that it did happen. But unfortunately they decided
(50:32):
to take their frustrations and take that loss out on
coach Tom Thibodeau. As Tuesday it came out that he
was relieved of his duties.
Speaker 3 (50:40):
Yeah, it's been mixed. Some people are saying, well, wait
a minute, he's been for three years and you lose
to the Pacers a lot. So yeah, and there are
some people who are like, are against it, but like, hey, look,
you let this is the this is kind of like
year one of this roster that they did, and in
(51:02):
that first year you took him to the Eastern Conference
Final for the first time in twenty five years. That
alone is an accomplishment, and you get fired. So the
reception from the fans, mainly from Knicks fans, has been mixed.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
My brother was even talking about it after they lost
on Saturday, that they probably should get rid of him
some mistakes, Yeah, because.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
He made some mistakes.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:25):
Well, throughout the regular season.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Throughout the regular season, they didn't beat any of the
top teams at all.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Yeah, and I heard like he gets criticized for his
rotations or whatever.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Yeah, because they play, you know, like play some of
his players too long and they end up being tired.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
Maybe not some of the role players enough.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
Because it was even in Game one, Like there was
even parts of Game one where like Jalen Brunson was
on the bench and everybody else like you know, playing
in his place.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
They were holding it down.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
They were still you know, you know, keeping the lead
up to like fourteen points or seventeen points or whatever
it was by that point. Yeah, keeping without Brunton in
the game, they were still keeping the lead up. But
then when Brunson got back into the game, they kind
of lost the league. H pretty much like kind of
like depending on Brunton too much, Yeah, depending on Brunton
and the Stars too much, and not depending on the
other players as much as maybe he should.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Yeah, it's a tough one. I mean, there's definitely a
case for keeping him because, yeah, he got you guys
to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in
twenty five years, off knocked off the defending champion Boston
Celtics in the process. Off the next to their first
back to back fifty win season since nineteen ninety five.
Thirty fucking bars. Wow, and they made the playoffs four
(52:37):
of the last five years ever since he took over
as their coach. So yeah, it's kind of a weird
and sketchy thing to fire somebody like that. But I
sincerely hope, I sincerely hope. I know I'm asking a
lot that they have an idea and have a plan
in place for this.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
You have to after what you just did. I've been
hearing rumors that, well not just that, but from fans
saying how that Mike Malone should be the next head coach.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
And also Mark Jackson. I've been seeing that float around two.
Oh yeah, our.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
Friend Nate mentioned that that Mark Jackson should be the
head coach.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Yeah, I wouldn't mind it.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
I mean, he was the one who pretty much built
up the Warriors before they started winning titles. My brother
was even mentioning that too, how like they even though
he was a good coach for the Warriors, they weren't
winning titles until they got Steve Kerr. So maybe that
might be a similar scenario that happens here where whoever
is the coach and the next will lead them to
the Promised Land. If that happens, I'm cool with it.
If that happens, I'll sit here one year from now
(53:35):
and say, Yo, firing Thibodeau was the best decision, right
until they don't make it.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
But if they don't have a season like they did,
or they don't make it to the conference final, they're
gonna look like, Okay, what they did was the wrong decision.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Yeah, Like if they end up like losing in the
first or second round next year, if they don't go
to at least the conference finals next year, the next
move was a mistake, right, But only time will tell.
But I'm just grateful that they have the season that
they did. That they went as far as they as
they went and I was here for it.
Speaker 3 (54:07):
But Dan, did it suck to see them lose, I know,
to the Indiana Pacers. Of all teams, Indiana Pacers.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Yeah, they were just like the third time they beat
us in the playoffs like in the last decade.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
Yeah, that's why I'm moving to the Thunder to win
the championship.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
Same.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
I like this Thunder team. They're very young and it's
very it's kind of cool, how like you you know,
the Thunder and the finals in twenty twelve. There were
times where they should have made it again and they didn't.
And then you after Kevin Durant left, Westbrook left and
Harden left, you thought like, oh, this this team, this
(54:45):
franchise is not going to be the sam anymore. And
look they're back in the finals. Crazy.
Speaker 1 (54:51):
Yeah, they've been killing them the last few years and
now they're finally in the finals with the MVP, with
that SGA, and yeah, I hope they win. To be honest,
I'm not that interested in this finals compared to what
I would have been if some other teams were in it.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
But who knows, maybe those surprises.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
Dude, it has been a while since I've I think
the last finals match where I.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
Was really like into it was the Warriors and Celtics
from twenty twenty two. Yeah, that was good series, but
even for me, it's kind of the one before that,
the Bucks and the Sun series.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
Really that was a good series.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
Yeah, that was a good ass series.
Speaker 1 (55:29):
It was a good series. I'm talking about like for
the match of like before, like before the series started,
you were like looking forward to it. Yeah, that's it. Yeah,
that Celtics and Warriors when I was hyped forward to
I kind of wanted to see that in twenty eighteen,
but it didn't work out that way. Oh god, Yeah,
that's why I wanted that too, because damn it, I
got so tired of seeing warriors and Warriors and kavs
(55:51):
Man four straight years and not even that, not even
that by that point. By twenty eighteen, the Caves weren't
even as good anymore, Like, besides Lebron, they didn't really
have anybody Kelly's.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
I got so sick of that, man, Yeah, why do
you think?
Speaker 1 (56:05):
Yeah, the first two years it was good, Like twenty
fifteen and twenty sixteen the series were good, but then
in twenty seventeen and twenty eighteen they sucked, especially twenty eighteen.
Speaker 3 (56:14):
Man, why do you And then also like why do
you think? I was so happy when on Toronto won?
Oh that was twenty nineteen. I love that, loved that run.
Oh my god, I don't.
Speaker 1 (56:26):
Care what anybody says. Only only one because Kevin Durant. Huh,
why should have stayed there? Honestly you should have stayed there,
he should have.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
That's what I'm saying, Like to this day, See, I
know why he left because like you're gonna be in America.
You're in a bigger mark in la I get that
more money, But you haven't done anything. The only he
the only the furthest he ever made it, Kurt was
to the Western Conference Final and I was in twenty
(56:54):
twenty one when they lost to the Suns. That's the
closest he's ever been. He in all the load management
and all that crap. Like, dude, it hasn't. His run
with the Clippers has not been good. If he would
have stayed, if he would have stayed in Toronto, oh,
he would have definitely wouldn't won another ring. That is,
that is for certain.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
Hell, they were still good the year after this year,
after they went to the second round of it, the
game seven. Yeah, that un that they had in twenty
nineteen is memorable. Yeah, especially that one game in the conference.
Ze means when they beat the Sixers, like with the
shot of the buzzer.
Speaker 2 (57:32):
Yeah, oh man, Yeah that.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Night twenty nineteen, Raptors team was solid. Yeah, it was
a huge shot to see them win, but it was
nice to have a new team mix. And it's so funny.
Ever since then, there's like been no team that's repeated
his champions The last team that repeated his champions was
the Warriors in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 3 (57:50):
Yeah, and you know, it's another thing that that uh
that buns me out before you move on the fact
that that twenty twenty Lakers team they didn't stay together.
If they were stayed together, they would have won another championship.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
But they haven't been the same since, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Look, I'm happy that they got Luca and all that stuff,
but like, like, look, I love Lebron, but it was
like the fact that, Okay, the following year, like I
get it, they lost to Phoenix though, but they still
could have kept that team gel together, right, And then
you Lebron, you know how he is. He wants to
play GM and wants to call the shots. He brings
in Westbrook, he brings in Carmelo Anthon. I was just like,
(58:30):
oh my god, that that really that that was kind
of like the downfall of that team when they did that,
and I didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
Yeah, and also shout out to Wessell Westbrook, I already
retired recently.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
Oh yeah, I heard that too.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
Yeah, hey man, I'm I'm I know he's gonna be
happy if the Thunder. Pull it off, man, that that'll
be Come on now, I'll for Thunder.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
I kind of wish he never let the Thunder, to
be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
Yeah he didn't. I don't think he had any right really,
like oh man, I think that's one of the reasons
he got traded or he or he asked to leave.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
I remember he went to the Rockets after that. Yeah,
he went to the Rockets.
Speaker 3 (59:09):
Did he get traded or he was or did he
just do he wanted to leave?
Speaker 1 (59:13):
I think it got traded because I remember Chris Paul
was on the Rockets, and then Chris Paul was on
the Thunder and then yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
Westbrook was on the Rockets.
Speaker 1 (59:20):
Oh right, Okay, that was another team I was surprised
didn't go to the finals? Was that Rockets team with
like James Harden was the star player? Yeah, I was
really shocked that they never went to a finals.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
Dude, they almost what year was it? Was it twenty eighteen?
Speaker 2 (59:32):
It was that Yeah the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
Yeah that was it. Yeah, they pushed huh yep, but.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
It didn't happen.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
Cool.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
That was one of the few times that year where
like the Eastern Conference finals in the Western Conference finals.
Both went to Game seven, and honestly, that was the
highlight of the whole playoffs because that finals we got
afterwards was not good.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
I did not watch it, not one game, Kurt and
it and it it only went four games.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
I did not watch one game that was bad. Hopefully
we get someone of a good finals this year. Hopefully
they're surprises, even though it does not look that exciting
on paper, but who knows.
Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Anything is possible.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
I just wanted the Knicks to be in it. The
ratings would have went through the roof, Kurt, if the
Knicks were in that finals.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Yeah, it would have been great.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
It would have been panemonium in the damn city.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
But you probably would have been hurt. If the Knicks
ran the finals. You would not be recording this podcast
at your place. You probably would have been under a
shelter somewhere under like the freaking under the subway, somewhere
with the Ninja Turtles.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Well, I'm in Long Island, so that that kind of
madness isn't gonna spread out to here the fucking suburbs.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
You probably would have been recording on the sewers with
the Ninja Turtles right now, because the city would have
been in ruins.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
I could have we could have Michaelangelo as a co
host on the show, right, bubbs, Oh my god, all right, man,
anything else you wanted to get into today?
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
Oh? Rox and Perez?
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Oh yes, that's right. It came out today. Adam Pearce
even put out a tweet about it that Roxanne Perez
was the victim of a stalker on Twitter. The page
like running the Twitter page like tweeted out her address
and like tweeted out a bunch of threatening stuff to her,
and like the title of the page said, is Roxanne
Perez dead yet?
Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Horrible?
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Yeah, very disgusting, very disturbing. Yeah, I can imagine what
she's dealing with right now.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
So they're getting to the bottom of that. And also
a person who was apparently the stalker of Live Morgan
was arrested at the PC on Tuesday. At the PC, Yeah,
the Performance Center.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Oh oh oh, okay, wow, wow, that's crazy, Like these
wrestling fans, man, you are really giving other wrestling fans
a bad rep right now, man.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
And giving men in general a bad name by pulling
this kind of shit too.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
I think, if I remember correctly, I think Live Morgan
spoke on how not all of them, but most fans
that approach her have bad hygiene.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Oh shit, maybe she was being a heel when she
was doing that, but that wouldn't surprise me.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
I don't think so. I no, no, I don't think so.
I think that was like a real life interview, real
interview that she on the record that she had. Man,
and you guys need to boundars. Man, you gotta remember
at the end of the day. I know, like these
(01:02:46):
wrestlers are like these larger than life characters to us,
like they're everything to us, you know what I mean,
that we look up to. But you gotta remember at
the end of the day, not just wrestlers, but athletes,
you know, movie stars, musicians. You gotta remember at the
end of the day, they're they're people just like us.
They have lives. Respected, Yeah, they have lives.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
They have personal space and invade that personal space. Are
doing that you are not a fan.
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Like I think I remember Kevin, Like dude, Kevin Owens
was just recently talking about stuff like this not too
long ago, about how if he's at the airport right
and he's about to go to his plane, he's not
gonna take the person's autograph he doesn't. He doesn't care
(01:03:32):
how much of an asshold that he's going to look
like now, Like, dude, please you know what I mean. Yeah,
there's a time and place for that ship. There's a
time and place for that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
If they're if it's like after the show, like if
it's at after the show, like as they're leaving, that's
one thing, or like at an autograph signing whatever, that's cool.
But if they're at the airport, if they're on their
private time, it's like if they're like out there dinner
with their family or something, or out with their family
like at a theme.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
Park, yo, leave them the hell alone.
Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Yeah, boundaries. A lot of people just need to learn
how to respect boundaries. And by not respecting those boundaries
and invading them, you are not a real fan.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
You are a fucking creeky, just like these people are.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Just disgusting. Man.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
Come on, Like, yeah, remember and remember that whole story
with Sonya Devilla a couple of years ago when that
dude like try to like break into her house and
like kidnapp her.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Yeah yeah, it's crazy, man.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
And it's not even just with wrestling, it's even like
with other celebrities in general. Like how people would just
become so obsessed with them and like like so consumed
by like meeting them and like being involved in their
lives that they just take it too far. Like remember
that movie Is a Fan with Robert de Niro and
Westy Snipes.
Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
Yeah, yeah, shit like that John Lennon prime example, Kurt, Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Yeah, John Lennon. Yeah, even the lady who killed Selena.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Yeah mm hmm. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
It's wild, man like, especially when you're a celebrity and
some like certain people out to get you, and it's
unfortunate people have to get you or people who were
supposed to be fans.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
It's a gifting, a curse, yeah, big time.
Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
But yeah, I hope they're safe. I hope they're okay,
and I hope that you know, these people don't ever
bother them again.
Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
Yeah you remember, Roxian Press is only twenty three, Kurt. Yeah,
she's super you old, my god, man, come dude, m Yeah,
but hopefully they're safe. Hopefully they're okay, and yeah, hopefully
this is put to bed. Yeah please all right, bro.
Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
