Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo, yo yo, What is going on? My fellow wrestling fans.
Welcome to a brand new week, and welcome to a
brand new edition of what we'd like to call the
Clash of Champions, where we talk about the different storylines, personalities, controversies,
and everything in between that's center around this world we
know we love as professional wrestling. I am your host,
(00:23):
the vegan you believe in conscious Kurt the excellence of
execution in the flesh as always, and my co host
needs no introduction, but the hell with it. He's about
to give y'all one anyway.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
That's right, ladies and gentlemen, this is his tag team partner,
Jonathan Randall, the adventure himself. Always make your life at
an adventure, as says on my Instagram bio. And welcome
to our soap opera Professional Wrestling. That bringing you that
wrestling news you need to hear. Kurt, how you've been?
How was your weekend?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Pretty good? I had a very busy day today. I
had three job interviews and yeah, I was running an
old city all day today. I literally just got back
to my best friend I was like a half an
hour ago.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Oh wow, Oh, you had to busy day today? Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Okay, I've been up since five point thirty wow. But yes,
speaking of soap operas, we saw a huge soap opera
this past Friday night on SmackDown as we finally got
our answer. So who attacked Jake car Gill back in November.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, and it was very apparent who did it. It
was very apparent and long to behold. It was Naomi
the whole entire time.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yep. Bianco Bellare came out on Friday. She didn't do
her classic entrance like where she twirls around and like
skips to the ring. She wasn't doing none of that.
And then she came out called out Naomi, and then
she was like asked Naomi straight up did you do it?
And Naomi kept kind of trying to deviate from the question,
talking about how we need to focus on Wody the
tag titles back and all this other jazz, but Bianca
(01:53):
was not having it. Bianca asked her straight up, did
you do it? And then Naomi went into the fact
that Jade's been, like, you know, benefiting off of Beyonca's
hard work, and Beyonca's kind of like been not doing
what she should be doing in the women's division because
of you know, having to carry Jade so much. And
it was to the point where like she was crying
(02:14):
and Bianca like wasn't trying to hear it, and Beyonca
was crying too, and she just said, stop debating, stop
with your explanations. Did you do it yes or no?
That's all you have to say, And they only straight
up said I did it.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah. And I think she took a page from Rakishi,
from her from her father in law, yep, because she
pretty much said, hey, I did it for you.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
E, just like Rakishi did it for the Rock back
in two thousand. Yes, she takes right after her father
in law and yeah, but she was in tears, she
was very upset, saying I did it for you, I
did it for your career. I did it for us
so we could be a team. And Bianca just said
you and I were through and she walked away. And
(03:01):
then they only kept calling her to come back, begging
her to come back, and then they only straight up
called her and ungrateful bitch as she walked away.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, even Naomi even said that she would have did
it again, She would have did it the same thing
again to Jake Cargill, I'm my damn, damn you. It
was like that. Yeah, it was literally like watching a
soap op. It was crying. It was like a breakup.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
It was a Tyler Perry movie right in front of
our eyes.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Everybody was telling them in this segment, you know, give
them all the awards they need, you know, what it deserves.
And yeah, it was a very good segment. It was
very an emotional, heartfelt segment, like a breakup. And yeah,
we finally got the truth. And as Bianca was literally
like headed towards the stage, out comes Jake Cargill.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, they show on the screen of car arriving to
the arena. Then Jake Cargo comes out of it, and
she comes out to the arena. Her and Beyonca briefly
stare at each other, and then Beyonca just walks away,
and then Jay runs to the ring and Naomi tries
to run away from her, but Jay catches her starts
beating her up, and then she lays her out with
the Jaded on the map. But even as she had
(04:12):
Naomi up for the Jaded, you could hear her scream
out Bianca, but she wasn't coming to save her ass
this time. No freaking okay.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Nope.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
So yeah, this was a pretty good segment. I personally
liked it. It was very polarizing. There was a lot
of mixed reviews about it online, but personally I employed it.
I think it accomplished what it needed to. It was
definitely a side of Naomi and Bianca I had never
seen before on WWTV.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
And oh yeah, just the emotional side. That's that's the
emotional side. Like when you see stuff like that in segments,
that says a lot about your character, especially from Naomi
you like from Beyonca, is not surprising. I'm I fully
believe that Beyonca prior to this could pull that off, though,
but Naomi never did this before, and my hat's after
(04:56):
her more importantly.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah, this is definitely like a big moment, especially for
Naomi because she's never really had the spotlight like this
before and from the way it's looking now, this is
going to lead to her very first ever singles match
at WrestleMania. Because obviously from this this is all leading
to Naomi and Jade at WrestleMania. But if they are
(05:18):
doing this match at WrestleMania, which they most likely are,
they need to do something to get Naomi's heat back
because she's already been laid out by Jay twice. So
the next time here in Jade come face to face
or cross paths, Yeah, Naomi has to definitely get her
heat back one way or another.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, get some momentum on yourself since you're the heel,
and also get the fans to take you seriously as
a hill as well.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah. But I think within the next few weeks the
way she could possibly get that heat back is starting
her own stable, and the two women I could possibly
see him as part of that stable are Jakarba Jackson
and Lash Legend.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
That's very possible, and that's a good that's a good
tandem if you're they're able to do that.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah. With Naomi getting her asked beat by Jade twice, yeah,
she has to rebound from that to get people to
be interested in a mask between her and Jaded WrestleMania.
But regardless of all that, I am very happy for
her for all the years she's put in, all the
time she's put in. She's finally gonna get to have
the spotlight at WrestleMania in a way she's never had
it before. Yes, Yeah, but poor Bianca Yo, you could
(06:28):
definitely tell that she's like going through a lot, especially
if you see a social media.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Oh my god, you know you will think that, you know,
she'll be like in a positive mindset right now because
she's going to WrestleMania. She's competing for the World Women's
Championship against El Sky and now you have this situation
over her head. Yeah, it's a little bit of a distraction. Man.
You can't blame her for that.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Yeah, And she went off on social media on Monday
where she like put up a post putting up the
middle finger to everybody who thinks that she was in
the whole Jada attack or like had something wrong with it. Yeah,
she's not having it.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Wow. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
But honestly I like it. I like seeing this side
of her.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, it's a different side of her. It's a more
an aggressive side of her, which we'll get into later
as we as we talk about Monday Night Raw from
this past Monday. But yeah, it is a little bit
of a different side from Bianca.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, definitely a different side of Bianca. Also a different
side of Naomi. And yeah, we're gonna see where this
heel turn goes for her because this is the first
time she's been to heal pretty much in a decade.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, oh wow.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Yeah. And there was some news that came out about
Jade Cargo the other day, actually that same Dave SmackDown
that apparently her and shanea based there almost got into
a fight backstage a few months ago before she you know,
her hiatus. Wow. Yeah. Initially the report came out from
the Resting Observer, from Dave Meltzer. I mean, you could
take that with a grain of salt. But then pt
(07:56):
W inside her kind of confirmed it a little while
after that, talking about how this s aw stem from
the match a clash at the Castle, the three way
tag team title match when Shana Basler had Jade Cargill
and the Sleeper. I guess she had it on really
tightly to the point where Jade tapped out when she
wasn't supposed to tap out. Apparently that led to some
kind of issue between the two of them, where supposedly
(08:18):
Jade said that Shana Basler needs to learn how to
work and look, Jake Carr Gills great, she has a
great presence. I think she definitely has a lot to offer.
But if that's the case, and she really said that,
I don't think she's the person to be talking about
other people's ring experience, especially somebody like Shanna Basler.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, I mean, because the Cargo doesn't really have that
musuring experience.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, and let's be honest, legit. I know, Jade Carr
Gill is an oppressive looking woman. She's in great shape.
But Shana Baysler would kill her in a real fight.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Oh of course she has an m A background.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, they're trained fighters. They are trained to fuck you up, right.
And also apparently there was some report that Jade Cargo
asked for time off like during the holidays, but the
holiday tour, like you know, after Christmas was mandatory, but
somehow she ended up getting that time off because of
the injury angle. I guess they're like saying that she
was injured, but some people like don't believe that she
(09:21):
was injured and that she just said that to get
that time off. And then also that video that was
posted on Instagram, like you know, right after she came
back last week, about how there's like a wolves in
the locker room pretend to be sheep. Oh wow, Yeah,
this all thing feels weird. Yeah, like all came out
of nowhere, like literally like right after Jake comes back,
(09:44):
this whole story breaks out.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, that is a bit weird.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Look, we're not there. We don't know how true this is,
or if any if it is true, but considering how
like much attention it was getting when it came out
on Friday, and how big of a story it kind
of was, it's possible it could have happened. Very possible
that it did.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I mean I kind of believe it too, though, but hey,
you there, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Never know, Yeah, because it's funny. We did hear about
that rumor a few months ago that apparently Bianca and
Jay don't get along in real life. Oh, I heard
that at least twice, like even before Jay took her hiatus.
It could be true. It's very possible, but only they
know the answers to these questions.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
But regardless, Jay definitely has a lot to offer. She
has that presence, she has that, she has those mic skills,
she definitely has the look, and yeah, she definitely could
be a big start. Well she already is.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
But you know what I mean, I mean as why
they brought her because of her you know, her ring
presence and what she brings. And then you know there
is still improvement though, but yeah, she she has a
lot to bring to the table and then her future
is bright.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
So yeah, yeah, she was great in AAW. I really
enjoyed her AAW run, especially when she was TBS champion
and she had the whole batty section and she had
that like long undefeated streak. Yeah, she was killing it
when she was there. Yeah, but WW is definitely a
different vibe, a different locker room, different ball game, and
(11:18):
if she is rubbing people the wrong way by certain
things she may be saying or doing, yeah, that's not
going to be tolerated. Nope.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Like I told you, thee the vibe locker room is
you literally hit it on the head. Yeah, the locker
room vibe is completely different from the AAW one. Sort
are certain things that happened in that AAW locker room
won't be tolerated in the WW locker room.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Hell to the no. But we'll see what else comes
out of the story in the coming weeks. If anything
does come out of the story, who knows, maybe the
next thing we know, we'll see Jake car gild and
Shana Basler like post a selfie together, possibly like at
a Atlanta Hawks game, sitting in the front row hopefully
having barbaratos. Oh god, oh no, SHANEA. Bazil likes beer.
(12:04):
Shane Bezel likes to drink beer.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
From what Bailey said, it doesn't matter as long as
they take a selfie of each other and they you know,
squash everything.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
It's so funny. My brother and my nephew actually went
to that same Hawks game where Jade Cargill and Naomi
were like seen together like two and a half years ago. Yeah,
he was the first person to tell me. He was like,
he had like really good seeds and then he sees
like right across from them, it's Jade Cargill and Naomi.
I'm like, shit, I didn't know they were friends. I mean,
(12:33):
they're not friends anymore, at least on TV. But yeah,
shit really threw me off when I saw that.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
All right, but let's get into a very interesting episode
of money that Raw that took place. That's passed Monday
from my neck of the woods of New York City
at Madison Square Garden. And I actually passed by Madison
Square Garden earlier that day because I had to take
a train from Penn Station. And yeah, as I was
walking by I see Cody Road standing outside, you know,
filming the part of the show like where he walks
(13:01):
into the Arena's because you know, like at the beginning
of rather show, like the footage of it, like right
into the arena earlier in the day when I was
passing by and they were filming that.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah, I know you and you send me the pictures
of it, and uh boy, did you miss out? Man?
It kind of sucks that you had to you had
to skip out on that night. Like I said, Man,
it's always a treat for US wrestling fans when there's
always an event at Madison Square Garden, especially if it's
a live event like Raw SmackDown, and you know, if
(13:30):
it's a p l E, which has yet to happen.
It's been a long time. I'm still waiting for them
to deliver a PLI over there. But anyway, the Monday
night Raw Madison Square Garden. Enough said, and it was
one hell of a show.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
It was a very interesting show with celebrities out the ass.
Oh yeah, including McAuley Culkin.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Yeah, it's always great to see him. He's always getting
a huge pop man that that dude. It's just crazy
how long he's he's he's still in the wrestling and
just every time we see him, man, it's it's always
it's always good to see him man, especially personally where
he's you know, what he's been through, from the overcome
everything that he's been through, and to see him in
(14:11):
good spirits. It's always great to see him, man. So
that was awesome.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yeah, and it gave me flashbacks of Home Alone too,
considering that they were in the garden.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Oh shit, maybe he stayed at the Plaza Hotel.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, ready to say.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
No, it's crazy. His brother actually won an oscar, the
same brother that was in the Home Alone movies. Yeah,
he won an oscar.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, but I felt to Macaulay Culchan, Yeah, I'm glad
to see that he turned his life around, like, you know,
rebounded from his personal issues that he was dealing with
a few years back. So shout out to him. Also,
shout out to Lindsay Lohan too, because she's another one
who kind of overcame those issues.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Oh right, right, yeah, I heard about her. Yeah, good
for ya.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
I remember. Yeah, definitely back in those like mid two
thousands years, they would like bash you and the tabloids
and in the media all the time. But yeah, made
it through that shit.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Yeah. So Macauley Culkin was there also, Fabulous was there.
It was good to see him there too.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah. Some of the UFC fighters were there too. There
was another rapper called Rich the Kid who I listened to,
you know, like years ago. He was there. Also comedian
Andrew Schultz, which we'll get into later, he was there.
I don't know if you ever listened to his stand
up comedies open. He's pretty funny though.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Yeah. My best friend, whose house I'm staying at right now,
is a big fan of his. He's been telling me
about him for years. He actually went to go see
him perform live in Long Island. And actually that same
special that you see on Netflix is the one show
that my friend saw and perform. Oh okay, yeah, similar
to like when I saw Dave Chappelle in Vegas. That
same show I went to to see Chappelle was the
(15:47):
same one he put on Netflix a few months after,
the one that everybody wanted to get removed. He get
canceled because of the transphobic jokes. Oh right, right right, Yeah,
that situation was like the main one that convinced me
that people are too sensitive, right, Yeah, but that's another
story for another time. But yes, we had open up
(16:09):
with main event jay Uso, well, in this case opening
match je Uso coming out to do his entrance on
TV for the first time in a month. Believe it
or not, but I did like the fact that he
was wearing Nicks colors. Shout out to jus for repping
the Knicks.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Andrew Schulze was wearing the Knicks too, he was he
was wearing that Knicks jacket. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Good shit, Just too bad that Nickson been kind of
a little bit of a slump late leave but they'll
be okay. Yeah, but Jay Whoso opened the show against
Grayson Waller, which he's not to no surprise one. And
then after the match he had to fight off Grayson
Waller in Austin theory. But as he was fighting them off,
he was attacked from behind by Bunther once again, who
trapped him in the sleeperhole laid his ass out and
(16:53):
I'm not gonna lie. This is starting to feel a
little repetitive.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
It is though, because it's a second straight week does
this happen? And then it was announced later on that
next week in Belgium, Ladies and gentlemen that it will
be jay Us versus awesome theory. So I hope they
don't do this whole you know thing again where jay
Us from behind gets choked out by by Gunther. I
(17:17):
hope they they do like a like a segment where
jay usso finally gets upper hand over Gunther. Hopefully it's like, Okay,
it's so far, it's been the It's been the longest
storyline going into WrestleMania, right. I just hope that they
ended on the right foot because it's been so far
(17:40):
starting off good, but it's kind of like towards the
middle is kind of getting a little bit slow and repetitive,
like you just mentioned earlier.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Yeah, up until about two weeks ago, I was saying
that this was the most consistent storyline going into WrestleMania,
But the last few weeks it hasn't really felt as interesting.
I think one way they could spice it up and
really help with the build is if they do the angle,
like maybe next week where Luther beats the hell out
of jau So so badly that he has to be
written off TV for a few weeks. Mm hmm. No.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
I feel like if they have jau So kind of
get the upper hand where he takes him out, where
he kind of like has some advantage over him a
little bit, where he's the one who beats him up
at least once. That will be a little bit better.
But I feel like, you know, it is the longest
storyline that they've they've been doing so far as we're
(18:32):
headed to WrestleMania, so I just don't want to see
something that it's pretty much one sided.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Yeah, I get it, and they could even go as
far as it, just like, you know, have them separated
for a few weeks too, because they've been building this
up so much for the last month or so, and
even the other storylines, like you don't see them interact
with each other every week, Like even John Cena and
Cody Road, you haven't seen him interact at all since
what happened at Elimination Chamber.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
So finally next week, yeah right, Yeah, WoT be.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
So bad if they took a little break from it,
But we'll see if they do.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
And also on rob we had the douchebag fuck Logan
Paul make an appearance. Oh my god, piece of shit
went as far as to rip off a shirt from
a fan that said Logan Paul sucks. Does this dude
not know how cold it is in New York this
time of the year. He's gonna rip off a dude shirt?
Speaker 2 (19:26):
I mean, isn't he from Cleveland? So I mean he
should know who cares where he's from.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
He's a douchebag.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
But anyway, the funniest thing, as he's trying to cut
his promo, the crowd wasn't having it. They just wouldn't
let him tell he's the funniest thing.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
New Yorker see through bullshit. That's why we don't like
Logan Paul, and that's why we don't like most politicians.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, man, they weren't having it. And then he turns
his attentions to Andrew Schultz and pretty much tell him
what are you're here for? And you know, he's pretty
much here for the Steel Cage and he's like, yeah,
I know you're here for that. That's cool now, but like,
who are you here for? I mean obviously here to
see me? And or like Andrew Schultz. I loved how
he was like, nobody's here for you, nobody likes you, okay, Jo.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
We wouldn't come to see Logan Paul.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
For flee Oh that was the funniest thing ever. But
but in typical WW fashion, as always, whenever you see
a celebrity, especially with a heel, they're always going to
get the celebrity involved. And Logan Paul drags freaking throws
Andrew Schultz over the barricade into the ring as he's
about to beat him up, and as it's about to happen,
(20:31):
out come AJ Styles and he attacks Logan Paul. Logan
Paul gets out of the ring, and you know, I
loved how AJ Styles chimed in, I'm not doing for
your ass yet, come back in here. Love that. So
looks like, I don't know, so far, there's starting to
do a little feud between each other. I don't know.
(20:51):
Maybe I would like to see from the rumors that
I've been hearing, they may do like a fatal four
way for that icy title for bron Break, which will
involve him AJ Styles, possibly Logan Paul, maybe somebody else.
I'd like to see that. But yeah, so far, they're
starting up a little few between AJ Styles and Logan Paul.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yeah, I'm all here for it too. It'll be a
fun match if they do do it one on one.
But if they do like a multi person match for
the inner cove two of them, Ron Rager, maybe Pencer
maybe they could throw yes, Lubery Kaiser, maybe they could
throw in there. Yeah yeah, Lubery, Kaiser and Penser are
gonna face each other next week.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yeah they are. Yeah. But as far as the segment,
I love the segment. I liked it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
It was great seeing Andrew Schultz there and yeah, like
there were people complaining about, you know how like they
were pimping out the celebrity so much on Rob Monday.
But in this case, I didn't mind it because it
was a part of an angle, so it's it's cool.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, I didn't mind it either. Let me come on
like they always do that. No. The funniest thing, I
don't know if you forgot about this, you have to
mention this, so uh SmackDown this past five They wasn't Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Oh yeah yeah, hell out of the.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Seventy six ers player and well deserved. Man, I feel bad. Look, look, man,
I feel bad for the seventy six ers man, but
look you're just you're not like, look, the only team
in Philadelphia as being praised and celebrated are the Eagles.
Spits are not doing nothing, and what maybe even worse, Kurt,
that they're holding up You know how the ww has
(22:26):
like those custom championship belts for sports for certain sports teams. Yeah,
they're they're holding up their own little championship belt.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
They don't deserve those belts.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Well, that's the only championship they're gonna have, Kurt, I mean,
come on, like that whole team is a mess man. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
God, oh, they've been having potential for the last few
years where they would have good runs and even Joe
Embiid was MVP a few years ago.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
But they can never always get past.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
The second round, I know.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
And what makes it worse the dudes always you know, Hurt.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
I just I don't know, man, Yeah, between him Ben Simmons,
when Ben Simmons was there, Yeah, that team is always
going through issues.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Too many issues, man, And I feel like I missed
that the old days, you know, when Allen and I
Resum were there. Those were like the good days of
the seventy six ers, you know.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Yeah, I remember in the eighties they were really good too.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
They were like one of the Yeah they were Yeah,
they won two titles or one title during that time.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
But yeah, no, they won one title in the eighties.
That was in eighty three.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Just one, okay, but they.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
Were in the mix like before, the Pistons were like
the main team the Celtics would have to play in
the playoffs. It was the Sixers, all right. But anyway,
I think we've given them too much time, so let's
move on to the next topic. Yeah, and also on
Robbie had a Texas Tornado rules match between the New
Day and raymis Sterio and Dragon Lee. But as the
match was progressing, a mysterious man in a lucha door
(23:50):
mask came out. Yeah, hey out Raymisterio. When Dragon me
and interfered and ended up costing him the match, and
some people that thinking that it's Chad Gable, and even
Kathy Kelly grilled Chad Gable about this backstage afterwards.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Dude showed up. It was behind Kathy Kelly and Chad Gable.
So there's your proof right there. It wasn't him.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah. This is basically the Los Conquistadors and Mister America
angled all over again.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah, so well that's a pretty interesting storyline right there.
But yeah, we'll see about that. New Day did get
the win. Moving forward, I noticed that I remember that
you mentioned how they should get into the World Taxing
Title hunt, and they should, so we'll see how that
goes moving forward.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yeah, whether they do them against the war Raiders at
WrestleMania or they do like a multi team match at WrestleMania,
I think either way, they should definitely be in that
title picture. But damn have they cooled off since that
turned on Biggie three months ago.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
I mean, look, they've been pretty much getting the at
them now because they've been winning. That's what I wanted
to see and.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
They have, and they have new theme music too.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah I get that still, but they need to, Like
if they get they get in that that tag team
title hunt. I think that would do some justice. But
it didn't start off the right way, Kurt, because I
mean they weren't being taken seriously. You're literally were getting
talked down about the whole tire locker room. You even
got stormed out of your own ring by one person
(25:26):
by Jay Usa. I will never forget that. So yeah, literally,
you literally those two those two of you guys, and
use one person. You literally you literally just let one
person just diss you. And that's when I was turning
to like, wait, am I am I gonna take these
guys seriously as as heels, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Yeah, but at least they're winning, so that's that's And
they have like a different look compared to like the
colorful offts they were wearing before, So that's at least
a step in the direction. Hopefully they can somehow heat
up again sooner than later.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Put them in Attack Team title hunt.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
So yeah. And then Cody rose to WW champion, came
out to cut a promo and yo, damn, this dude
wore two suits in the same night. Steve Harvey type shit.
Hey yeah, because he was wearing a blue suit when
I saw him outside of the garden earlier in the day,
and then he was wearing a black suit looking like
(26:21):
Ghost from Power when he came out on the rock.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Hey, man, love the suits, Man, love the suit game.
Come on now. So but hey, shout out to the crowd.
It felt like it was twenty eleven again, the Let's
go Cody Xena sucks chant.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah, it was kind of weird that I didn't notice that. Yeah,
they're kind of like giving the sina a mixed reaction,
but they weren't like against Cody. But like you know,
they kind of like were half and half of Sina
in a sense.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
I loved it.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
They did the same thing.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
They did the same thing the following day on NXT
in the same building, just in the theater. I'm I
didn't know the theater was still open at MSG, but yeah,
I saw the video that they're doing the same chant
and Cody wasn't even there and there's chanting Zena sucks.
Let's go Cody.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah, it's so crazy, man. Cody got rocked, let's know,
to turn heel on him two years ago, the rock
to turn heel on him last year, and he got
John Cena of all people to turn heel on him
this year. If anybody doubts if Cody's that dude, if
Cody's that like, you know, babyface of this era, those
dots are put to bed.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yeah. But but yeah, interesting promo. This is actually the
second promo that he'd cut on ZENA. He did one
on a SmackDown, which was pretty interesting, and I loved
how he ended it with, you know, if you want some,
come get some. I love that ending. Love that. On rall,
(27:51):
it's pretty much the same thing pretty much, you know,
staying how I'm going to see you on raw next
week in Belgium, and I can't wait for that. It's
be very interesting. Incurred.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Oh yeah, definitely. Yeah. We're finally gonna get to see
these two people, these two men face each other the
first time since what happened out of the Coat Chamber,
and with it being an international crowd, you know what,
They're gonna be lit and they're gonna be doing some
crazy ash chance throughout it. Yeah, Monday, which actually starts
at three in the afternoon, it's gonna be something to watch.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah, that's gonna be yeah, yeah, forgot about that. Yeah,
that's ladies and gentlemen. Monday Night. Rob be starting three
pm this time because they'll be in Belgium International.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Yeah, and it's gonna be starting at three four pm
for the next three weeks.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Shit, even on my birthday.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
I was on way tilling the show on Monday night
and we were talking about it, and he were saying,
how what are people gonna do with their Monday Nights
now that Rod's gonna be coming on in the afternoon.
I just basically said, Yo, this Monday, seeing Patrick Day,
they can go out and drink.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
That's what I'm gonna be doing right even if it
started well, I mean, even if it started at you know,
at the same time. I mean you got to remember,
Rawl's only like, what a two and a half hour show,
so they still have all the time to drink and
all that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
So yeah, I kind of want to go drink with
Shamus on Saint Thatcher's Day. That would be something I
would want to do at some point.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Luck to you, because usually I do go out a
lot on Saint Patty's Day, though, but it's on a Monday,
and I can I have to work that night.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Oh shit, you could drink after work? Maybe maybe it's funny.
I haven't drink alcohol in two and a half weeks.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Oh good for you. Actually, surprisingly, I actually did that
one time not too long ago. I actually went like
a couple of weeks if I'm drinking it just it
wasn't any like a reason. I just randomly, I just
like didn't have the urge to do it, so which
is good.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
So I usually do once a month a cleanse where
I don't consume marijuana, drink alcohol, or eat any junk
or process for one week out of the month, and
then I ended up doing it this month for two weeks.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Oh that's good.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah, definitely very good. But it ends tonight because I'm
gonna be eating an edible so after this recording, all right,
But anyway, Yeah, we're finally gonna get to see Cody
and Sena face to face next week. And I think
one of the things that could play into as far
as the story goes, is how Cody became the successor
to John Cena. Like there was never really another John Cena,
(30:22):
you know pretty.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Much, Well, they're trying to do Roman reigns, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
But Roman was not Sena. Roman was this whole different vibe,
just like seeing Punk was a different vibe from Sena. Yeah,
there was never like anybody who was like close to
John Cena as far as capturing that vibe, and so
Cody Rhoades came along.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
True, That is true. And the one thing that I'm
really interested in the next week is about we're gonna
get the reason why Zena did what he did.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
I think I know why he did it.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
There there is still something that I want to happen
as we'll get later on as we're recapping raw that
I think will happen that needs to happen for the
best of it. When I said this, Kurt, when I
when I said this, like I'm at work because somebody
on Twitter talked about like I can't believe this is
(31:14):
going to happen. I was kind of like, no, really
think about it. I think this is this is gonna happen.
And the reaction, the responses I got from that one
tweet just it was boom boom. Was kind of like
going back and forth with some people. I was like,
you know, I don't know, it's not gonna happen, and
you know some people are like, oh, you know, I
think you have a point and all that. So yeah, yeah,
(31:36):
but something that I predicted that I got a lot
of reactions on Twitter was only it wasn't even funny. Kurt.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah, I've to, you know, go back and forth with
certain people are online because I just see some of
the dumbest ships sometimes and I just know that just
continuing to argue with them just pointless.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
There were some people, there was a couple of people
who certain things that just like did not make any
sense of what are you talking about? Like and you're
telling me what I'm talking about. It It's like it's
not even that serious just as suggestion, and some of
the stuff that they were saying is like, okay, you
think my suggestion was funny, just listening to yours was
(32:16):
just like you literally complete, like like left field, like
how is Zach gonna make any sense of what I'm saying?
But anyway, I'll get into that later. But yeah, I
can't wait for next week. Though.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I think John Sena probably turned on Cody because he's
jealous that Cody still has a full head of her
Oh and also he wears natural suits.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
John, you know, just get it. We're in the twenty
first century. They've been just get some just for man.
They've been having that stuff out since damn since the
time I was born, or even before I was born.
Come on, now, it's not that hard. And you're in
Hollywood too, Come on, you're in Hollywood. Come on now.
I'm quite sure there's one person you can find in
(33:00):
Hollywood easily that could you know, straighten out your your
bald situation and there's no offense though, it's easy, come on,
or maybe.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
He sold his sole again, like bigger opportunities in Hollywood
because the rock has it made in Hollywood compared the
scene it does, so maybe he sold out so you
don't get that real money.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
I mean, that's true, that's true though, that's true though.
But hey, but let's be fair. You know, Xena does
do better in the TV show. It's not saying The
Rock hasn't. But The Rock's only been one TV show.
He's been in two TV shows, well, Young Rock and
what else? Oh Ballers? Oh yeah, I only watched a
(33:37):
couple of episodes of that yet.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
To be honest, To be honest, Batherers is better than
most of his movies are. It's kind of like the
Miami version of Entourage. It's kind of the best way
I could put it, all right, but that's another story.
Let's get into what else happened on Raw, which saw
a segment with EO Sky, Bianca Butlair and Real Ripley.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yes, pretty much was the Champion Champion chip coordination for
EO Sky and then pretty much you know, congratulating her
for her win as she's going to wrestle Mania to
face Bianca bel Air for that World's Women's Champion, World's
Women's Championship and out come Bianca bel Air pretty much
you know, to just say, you know, can't wait to
(34:17):
you know, meet you at wreussell Mania is gonna be
a great match. And then outcome Ria Ripley, which to
no surprise, I knew that she was going to come out.
And Ria Ripley and Bianca Belair get into it to
the point where Eel Sky's kind of like third Will
in this segment, eel Sky had a straightened them both out.
She first slaps Rear Ripley, then slaps Bianca bel Air.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yeah, they were really disrespectful to her to the point
where they were getting each other in each other's faces.
And then yeah, Rio Ripley kind of pie faced Eoskuy
out of the way, and then Bianca pie faced the
ol Skuy out of the way. So yeah, el Sky
had just slap both of them in the face and
slap some sentences. Hey yo, I'm the champion, put some
respect on my name. You're fighting for my spot.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Like shoot, eal Skot did the damn right thing. Shoot.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yeah, she was stopping up and down and everything saying, yeah,
don't be fucking with me that way. I'm the champ.
You're not the champ, You're not the chat it's me
kind of bullshit is that.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
It's very obviously they're gonna do a triple threat. I
mean I knew once Real Ripley lost the title, It's
like you can't do EO Sky versus Bianca and leave
out Ria Ripley. That's just no way. Come on. We
could see that from a mile away. Like it was
really funny how that whole situation came about, Like this
all started like literally like a month ago, because you know,
(35:41):
EO Sky was trying to compete or qualify for the
Elimination Chamber. Ria gets involved, EO Sky loses, and then
Ria Ripley takes it upon herself like look, I'm sorry,
but I'll give you a title shot, and that backfires
on Real Ripley because she ends up losing el Sky.
So then it all comes down to this.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
And yes, you saw like how upset she was after
the man, saying stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, And then at
promo she did backstage afterwards talking about like Beyonca getting
her business and how she took her eye off the
ball for one second and that crossed her. And even
when she came out on RAM Monday, she kept like
still calling out Bianca saying like like what were you
(36:21):
out there? For like, why were you interfering in my business?
At Bianca's response basically was, are you trying to blame
me for the fact that you can't beat EO on
your own so you need me as a scapegoat? And yeah,
Rio was not having that.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Oh yeah, it was gonna be a triple threat at
russell Mania.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Do you think Ria's on the verge of turning heel
from what you're seeing from her so far?
Speaker 2 (36:44):
I could see it, I tell you this. If Ria
Ripley doesn't win at Russell Manni, I could definitely see
her turning heel.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, definitely, But it is kind of risky to do
that because of how popular she is. Even at the
Garden on Monday, she got one of the biggest reactions
of the night.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
True though, but what difference would it make because guess what,
she got huge reactions when she was a Hell yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Maybe they see it that way. Maybe they think that
she's better suited in that role, So maybe that's like
that way of going about it. But yeah, so far,
I'm liking the build to this match.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Yeah I haven't. I don't know. Maybe if I'm missing anything,
but I haven't seen anything from Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Yet well, last Friday on SmackDown, like, Charlotte attacked Tiffany
after her match with Piper Niven. She hit on the
shop lock and put her in the figure eight. Okay, yeah,
I'll be honest. Out of all the women's storylines going
into WrestleMania, that one so far feels the least interesting.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Yeah, and this was something that was announced almost a
month ago, and I just haven't They haven't really did much.
They haven't really did like a like a segment between
each other. Now I'm all.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
They've done, He's done a couple, but yeah, it just
hasn't really been anything like that spicing.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Yeah, not compared to real real Ripley, Eel Sky and Bianca.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Now, this one is just or even Naomi and Jade Cargo.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Yeah, and that's not even for a title.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
That storyline feels like more interesting right now right. But
the thing I'm thinking though, even though Bianca told Naomi
that she's done with her, she's done with her, I
do think that her involvement in the situation and her
like attachment to the situation is not over and there
is a chance that I could play into the outcome
of the triple credit wrestling.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Hea. Yeah, I am very how the way, how the
way things are looking right now, And I know it's
kind of too early to say that. The fact that
Eel Sky has just you know, is the new champion,
I don't see her losing it anytime soon. So I'm
gonna go and go ahead and say I see her
winning this match if it were to happen.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
I don't really, she'd be great.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I'm really happy that she's you know, in this spot
this year and one of the Marque matches for a
second straight year with that, but this definitely feels like
kind of like Carmelo when she went into that triple
threat with Charlotte and Becky Lynch at some of the
Slam all those years ago. Like going into that match,
I knew there is no way Carmelo leaves with the title.
And as great as the old Skuy is and as
(39:23):
happy as I am for her to be in this match,
I feel the same way about her here.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
I don't know it's because of the way I've been
seeing Rie Ripley act. And then also, you know, you
mentioned how Bianca is not really out of that Naomi
and Jake Cargill's situation. That's why, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
But maybe there's a chance that maybe Naomi to make
good helps Bianca win. What make good to like kind
of like I guess, get Bianca to forgive her or
like you know, yo, I'm still on your side. No, no, no,
it could happen broke stranger things have happened before.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
We're on your good sign after what she did to her, No.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Because she said she did it for Bianca.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Soca wasn't having it.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, Biaka wasn't having it. But who knows if she
wants mix it up to win the championship, maybe she'll
have a change of heart. All right, wait and see,
but I will say, But what we think we were
talking about on Way Keller Show on Monday is that
they like the presentation of Biaka now where like she's
(40:32):
kind of like more of a serious baby face where
she's not like you know, doing the twirl around, not
doing the skip to the ring, because like you know,
she's going through right now, like her best friend situation
fell apart and now she's in a serious view for
the title heading in the WrestleMania So like now she's
all business, and that.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
This is I think out of all the title I
think of all the especially going to WrestleMania, right, I
think with all the the title man storylines that she
went into, I think this is the most serious one
of them all.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
It feels like it's so far. The one with Becky
at thirty eight was also a big deal.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Too, Yeah, but this one she just play way more
serious now compared to the others.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Yeah, I definitely didn't feel that fired. Yeah, right, one
of the highlights of Raw. Honestly, the highlight of Raw
was the main events.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
That's right, Ladies and gentlemen. Then it's the perfect place
to have this match, because boy, I've I've lost track
because there's been there's been a history of great steel
cage matches in that building, yes.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
And they were showing highlights of them the whole night,
including the super Fly Jimmy Snooker and Don Morocco one
from nineteen eighty three, a great cage match between Macho
Man Ranny Savage, and the Million Dollar match from nineteen
eighty eight, and also another one they didn't show but
was also a good one, the whole Cogan and Big
Boss Man cage match from nineteen eighty nine, which is funny.
They did that match at the Garden in the afternoon,
(42:00):
and they did that same match that night at the
Boston Garden. Damn, holy shit, man, two cage matches in
one day.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
And not only that, the distance from New York to Boston.
My god. I mean it's not that far, but I
know it's not that far though, but still though, you
have to travel to another city and you're all banged up,
bruised up from the first match, and now you gotta
do the same match in a different city.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
And they did that super plex from the top of
the cage spot in that match to him. Oh wow,
Well in the Garden they did that, not in the
Boston Garden because for some reason, the Boston Garden cage
was like kind of like the fence cage that they
used now, but the Madison Square Garden match was like
the blue bar cage.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Oh interesting, okay.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Yeah, but anyway, Yes, I will say this cage match was,
in my opinion, the best the old cage match I've
seen in WWE since the Brett hardon Owen Hart cage
match from Summer Slam ninety four.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
I've seen a lot of interesting cage matches, and this
is one of the best, you know, I've seen on raw.
We can't. Let's not forget Chris Jericho versus Christian back
from two thousand and forward. That was a good cage match.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Oh yeah, they had some great cage matches over the year,
even though Rakishi and dal Venus went from fully load
of two thousand when he jumped off of the cage
was also dope. But I have to say this cage
match that we saw between Punk and Rollins top notch son.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Oh yeah, back and forth and just raw emotion even
when Punk got into as soon as he got into ring,
they went at it. I love how they were both
flipping each other off. I love that spot where see
him Punk he flips off us Seth Rollins and he
does the iconic elbow drop.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
I love that he did it three times. He did
it three times circa Macho Man at WrestleMania seven.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Yeah, Seth was being a douche earlier. He pretty much
had the door open and tell him, oh, come on
see him Punk, go ahead and leave you one. I'm like, wow,
you will see him. Punk did the same thing later though,
but but still though, it's that that raw in motion
and that match that I liked about it.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
Yeah, they were kicking out of each other's finishes, like
Punk kicked out of the curb stop. Rolin was kicking
out of the GTS. Yeah, that was the.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Most of I was like, oh my god, Punk did
its curb stop all like damn. And then later on
seth Rons did a GTS to see him Punk.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
I'm like damn. And another flashback from the bretton Norman
cage match, rollin to the super Plex from the top
of the cage the Punk Holy shit, ooh ooh I
heard taking that spot even from the top, hope is
like getting into a car crash at thirty miles an hour. Really,
so imagine that shit from the top of the cage.
(44:44):
Wow fuck yeah Punk. Yeah, Punk looked like he was
having a rough time after that spot.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Oh I bet, I bet I loved. Also, my other
favorite spot is when so earlier seth Rons did a
buckle bomb to see him Punk onto the to the
to the Skill cage. But as he was trying to
do the second time m Punk did her corona counter
and as and then seth hits his face, hits the cage.
(45:11):
I love that spot. So yeah, great match. And then
I was look, since they're in the garden, I knew
something was gonna happen. I was just waiting for that
spot to happen, and it happened as Seth Ronins did
his final curb stomp from the the top rope. Seth
Rons is like literally like barely like outside of the
(45:36):
cage and then out out out of nowhere you can
hear the roar of the crowd. Roman Rains literally just
comes out from behind, just grabs seth Rons out from
his neck and just pulls him out of drink. And
then Seth Rongs is the winner. But Roman Rains did
not care about that. He was there to take out
seth Rawlins and he did literally beats the hell out
(45:56):
of him outside of the ring, spears him and he
didn't even himself did a a curb stomped to seth Rollins,
and he was about to do a curb stump to
seth Rollins on this still steps just like he did,
just like Seth Rowmins did to him at the Roar Rumble.
But as he was about to do that, he gets
stopped by the raw GM and all of the security
guards the party finals.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Yeah, they interrupted it again.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
Again and as all this is happening, Kurt Right and
the cameraman did a good job on this. A all
this chaos has happened outside the ring. Paul Hayman's in
the ring with seem Punk helping him up, talking to
him about God knows what, which is the biggest question
one of the questions and answers that needs to be solved,
(46:39):
especially going into next week. And as Roman ragn sees this,
he's kind of like, what the hell is this? And
he goes in a ring and then he attacks CM
Punk and then spears him and that was the end
of the show and U one hell of a match,
but what a hell of a cliffhanger to end.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
Yeah, this was great. The match was incredible. And then
just Roman return and accidentally helping Rollins win the match
was also great. Spot. Yeah, just the way he choked
him out and like pulled him out of the cage.
I reminded me of what being ranged to Tyreeese and
baby Boy.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
It just came out.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Yeah. But then Roman sees Hayman helping up Punk and
he's not having it because he's a jealous ass dude,
so he just jumps into the cage and then beats
the hell out of Punk And yeah, this is definitely
setting up for that triple threat that we were hearing
they might possibly do for WrestleMania, And it looks like
we're getting it.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
And Roman for Night one, which means yes, Jayu so
Gunther sadly will not be the main event. So this
is what I wanted to mention what I was talking
about earlier. Now a while ago, we were both against
the idea of a triple threat. Now it's most likely
(47:57):
you're going to do this triple threat, but they need
to have a stipulation. And it goes back to what
happened between Paul Hayman and seem Punk, because what was
Paul Haymen saying to seem Punk in the ring, and
you got to remember the favor that seem Punk has
from Paul Hayman. What I predicted, Kurt, you have to
have some type of stipulation in this match. You can't
(48:19):
just have three people just going at it for what
for what? Well, because animosity, no, what's the prize? What
are they going for? I think that they should go
at it for the number one contenderships to determine who
will be in the main event for Night two with
(48:42):
Cody Rhodes and John Zena. I think one of the
favors that Punk has from Paul Hamon's for him to
get a title shot at wrestle Mania.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
I think if that does happen, I don't mind it personally.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
No, I don't. I love it. And this is foreshadow
This is going back for months. This is going back
all way back when Punk first, you know, returned to
the w W. Well, his whole intentions from day one,
Kurt even you know, after his feud with Drew McIntyre.
His whole intentions, Kurt was to like main event WrestleMania.
(49:22):
Now I have these favorites from Paul Haman, I had
two opportunities to be in the main event. I didn't
get it done right, and it's like I didn't get
this done. Now have this favorite from Hayman. What are
the favorites.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
I wasn't really sold on this idea at first when
I first heard the rumors that they were going to
do this match, But from what we saw on Raw Monday,
I am in yo. I cannot wait to see how
this story plays out over the next month.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
And I just think Hayman was telling the Pump like
when he was consoling him in the ring. I think
what Hayman was telling him was like, Bro, you should
have just walked out of the cage when you had
the chance. You had the match one, but you're fucked up. True.
Maybe maybe he was saying, yo, because of the fact
that you're so banged up. Is this mean we're not
going to dinner after the show anymore?
Speaker 2 (50:11):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (50:11):
God now? But yeah, I would hope that they add
some kind of like stipulation of this match, because you
can't you can't do that. You can't do those because
the three way with like Nobile Prize or Nobile Stakes. Yeah,
that is kind of weird.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
It doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
But much the star power is between the three of
these guys. Yeah, they need to add something more to
it than just you know, bad blood.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
You have to, And there's some people, there are some
people on Twitter talking about that there doesn't need to
be a covey. I like, you don't get the booking
of wrestling, my friend, you don't. You don't do that
in none one on one matches. You don't do that
whenever you have I said this a long time ago,
whenever you have these kind of matches there's like a
three way or fatal four way or whatever. Right, if
(50:59):
there's no caveat right, if there's no title on the
line or like a number one contender ship, it doesn't
make any sense to have those matches. It's like, what
are you fighting for?
Speaker 1 (51:11):
Ragging rights exactly?
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Like that's literally Oh yeah, I was in a main
event at WrestleMania and I beat two guys with nothing
at State.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Oh okay, yeah, but this, this story with these three
is gonna be dope. Yeah, just from what we saw
on Rob Monday. Yeah, this is definitely gonna be some
spicy ass TV in the next month. And your people
were complaining and shitting on the built of WrestleMania this
year and not being interesting, not being you know, important,
Right now, it is definitely interesting.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
I told you, trust the process.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
Yeah, you gotta be patient, Yeah, because WrestleMania has been
like what a three month gap between the World Rumble
and WrestleMania, give or take. Yeah, you gotta let the
ship play out.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
Yeah, trusting process. But yeah, that's what I that's what
I see happening above all else I see. I really
see seeing punk just for some reason funding a way
to be in the actual main event of Russell Mania.
I really see him kind of like getting his foot
in the door between Cody Rhoads and John Zena, because remember,
(52:16):
people forget that literally before this match last week, Kurt,
this past Monday, he literally just cut off a frustration
his promo calling out John Zena and The Rock literally
like a week ago. And you gotta remember, people forget,
Like I had to tell this person on Twitter, like
you forget what was his attentions from the get go
(52:38):
for months, foreshadowing main event wrestle Mania title shot. That's
what he wanted, that's all he's been talking about, and
there's a chance.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
That he could get it. But only time will tell
and we will see how this story plays out.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I'm just so curious of what that favor is. So,
like I said, this is very similar to Stone Cold
Steve Austin back in two thousand and one about his
obsession of you know, winning the championship at wrestle Mania,
and like he literally just did all he can to
do it. We literally turned heel and sold a soul
to Vince McMahon to do it.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
So I mean, I don't think Punk is gonna sell
his soul in this case, because John Cena already did that.
If anybody's gonna turn heel in this scenario, it has
to be Seth Rollins.
Speaker 2 (53:28):
I could, Yeah, Seth will definitely turn heel, though, but
as far as you're saying that you don't know if
Punk will, you may never know.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
I just feel like that John Cena Hilton was just
too big of a deal and got too much attention
that I can't like really see anybody else on that
same level turning heel literally right after him. So, like
I said, if anybody ends up turning heel, it would
make the most sense if Seth Rollins turns heal, especially
after that Crappy pulled at Elimination Chamber and on his
old obsession with Punk and like you know, basically like
(53:57):
losing sleepover Punk and always mentioning Coult every turn. It's like, yeah,
how could this dude not turn heel? It's like, damn, bro,
what it pump did? Pumped like break your heart or something.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
But I hope Seth rounds being a better than R
now though, because the Chicago Chicago Bears have been making
some decent moves during this off season, so.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
Yeah, hopefully and possibly his wife's coming back soon soon.
Oh yeah, yes, but that was Monday that Rob This
passed money from the garden. The two highlights of the show,
honestly were, yes, the main event in the angle they
pulled afterwards, and also that segment with pianc or Rio,
Ripley and e O Sky. That was the two highlights
of the whole show. Yes, yes, But this past Friday
(54:41):
we found out who the next inductee will be for
this year's w W Hall of Fame, and it was
broken with a video in which Cody Rhodes went to
go visit Lex Luger and DDP as DDP was doing
therapy with x Lucre, you know, like trying to help
him learn how to walk again, and Cody Rhoads officially
told Lex Luke and he will be going into this
(55:01):
year's Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
Congratulations to him, he well deserved. I'm very happy for him.
Guy's been through a lot physically health wise. I really
like Lex Sluger a lot, especially you know, during his
time at WCW. I think. But it's funny when they
mentioned that they show that highlight clip when when he
(55:25):
won the w CW title against Hulk Hogan on Nitro.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Yeah ninety seven. Yeah, that was crazy, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
That was that's like, honestly, that's my favorite Lex Sluger moment.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
Yeah, it doesn't get any better than that. He beat
Hulk Hogan for the championship after Holgan was like on
that hot run with the nWo. He was like the
first person to really beat him. Yeah. That was crazy.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
Yeah. Favorite, yeah, favorite moment from him.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
And ironically enough, it happened in the exact same arena
where SummerSlam ninety three was where he didn't beat Yokozuna.
Oh okay, exact same place.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Wow. Wow.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
And as far as w W goes, that was his
biggest moment was when he body slam Yokozuna. That was
as big as a guy for him there.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Oh yeah yeah, true, true.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
Yeah. But he had a great career though, from like
his time in the Four Horsemen. He was a great
US champion in WW during that late eighties period. He
had a great run there. It was the WCW champion
like in ninety one, like when Flair left, he like
won the title. Yeah, and then obviously he went to WW.
He was a narcissist character for a while, but then
after he body slamed Jokozuna, he basically became like like
(56:35):
the modern version of Hogan in a sense, like Hogan
two point zero, but like that didn't really work the
whole lex Express thing, and that kind of was a
whole thing in itself. Yeah, and then when he didn't
win the title WrestleMania attend it was obvious that he
wasn't gonna get it.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
No, I mean it was it was cool that he
was in that title picture, you know, I like the
whole the thing where you know, him and Brett were
like both eliminated from Roy Rumble at the same time,
so they both got a title shot at WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (57:04):
Yeah, that was a play where whom will finish? That
was one of the better ones they've done.
Speaker 2 (57:07):
Yeah, but yeah, moving forward, like and then they did
the He was a tag team of British Bulldog for
a little bit at one point.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Yeah, but he was a part of one of the
major moments in the Monday Night Wars when he showed
up on the very first episode of Nightrol.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
Yeah, yes, yep, he was that first person to make
that that big splash transition. Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
Yeah, he literally wrestled for WW the night before and
he made a handshake agreement with w W to stay,
and then the next night he shows up on Nightrol. Yeah, madness, madness.
I remember those early episodes of Nightell like it was yesterday,
and yeah, he was a major part of it. And
he had one of the best finishers ever in the
(57:53):
history of wrestling, the damn torture rack yep. Yeah, Old.
Apparently he was the one who gave him the idea
for that move. He gave him the idea for that move,
and he also gave him the name of the Total Package.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
Oh okay, I like that. I like that.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
Yeah, Dustin rhodes Man, who was a genius. I heard.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
They're saying that Sting should induct him.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
Yeah, either Sting or DDP one or the other.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Yeah, hopefully Sting does get to induct him. That'd be great.
Obviously Sting was his best friend. It's funny. Luger was
on Chris ban Vleet two weeks ago. I was listening
to that episode and he talked about the fact that
he was kind of mad at Sting when Sting became
a born again Christian because back then, like he really
liked to party. He really liked to go out and
do all that crazy stuff, and then like Sting didn't
want to do that stuff anymore.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Okay, So, like.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
He mentioned, like initially back then he was mad at him,
but then obviously when he became a born again Christian,
he kind of saw it differently.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
Yeah, and yeah, he had that great moment on Niitrol
when he beat Hogan for the title. I mean, the
title will only lasted a few days, but just the
fact that he got to have that moment, Oh that
you was legendary.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
Yeah. And this was in ninety seven too. Oh yeah,
that that meant a lot ninety seven.
Speaker 1 (59:12):
Yeah, yeah, he was hot at that time, like in
that ninety seven period, like other than Sting and also DDP, yeah,
he was one of the hottest dudes in WCW during
that period. Oh yeah, Yeah, he had that great theme song,
the Great Finish. Yeah, he was. He was a total package.
Speaker 2 (59:26):
He was they now, So congratulations to him making a
Hall of Famous. Speaking of the Hall of Fame, it
was announced that this year's Hall of Fame will take
place at the Fontaine Blue Hotel.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
Oh yeah, I did hear about that. They're not going
to have it at the same arena the SmackDown.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
The Fontaine Blue is one of the newest hotels that
they just built on the Strip in Vegas. I haven't been.
I haven't been there though, but I seen videos and
pictures of it. It's very nice, Kurt, very nice hotel,
I believe you. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
And also one of the rumored tag team to go
into the Hall of Fame is Earthquake and Typhoon the
natural disaster.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Oh yes, yes, yes, congratulations to them, will deserve you
have very good tag team during that late eighties and
early nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
Now there were nineties. They weren't around in the eighties really.
No Earthquake debuted at the end of eighty nine, but
they didn't become a tag team until ninety one.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Oh okay, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
They were initially feuding because like when Hogan was feuding
with Earthquakes, Typhoon was tug Boat at the time and
he was back in Hogan up. But then they had
like a six man tag once where it was tug
Boat and the Bushwhackers against Earthquake and the Nasty Boys,
and then tug Boat turned on the Bushwhackers and then
he aligned himself with Earthquake. And then it became the
Natural Disasters. Okay, that's one of the biggest tag teams
(01:00:47):
in wrestling history.
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
You're not kidding, You're not kidding, come on, I.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Would say, yeah, other than the Twin Towers, that's probably
one of the biggest tag teams in the history of wrestling. Yeah,
and they did have a room with the tag teams title.
They beat money In for the titles in ninety two.
They went into SummerSlam ninety two as the Tag Team Champions.
They got a hot reaction actually at that Summer Slam
when you go back and watch it. M Yeah, they
(01:01:13):
were a fun team. I remember them very vividly from
my early years of watching wrestling. And yeah, it's unfortunate
that Earthquake won't be alive to accept the induction, but
I'm happy that he is getting this sign. It's also techling.
Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
Good for them, good for them.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
And for better or worse. One of the things Typhoon
is remembered most for is the Shockmaster incident.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
Oh I know, w CW.
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Yeah, when they had that big review.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Of film for his debut and then he fell through
the wall.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
Oh shit, that was it was so bad. It's so
funny at the same time the dude falls through the
wall and his mask falls off. Holy shit.
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
You know, it's funny how we clown about how w
CW was during you know that that late nineties period
going to the two thousands, but like we forget about
how silly the stuff they were doing during the early nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Oh yeah, early nineties. WCW was cringe with a capital C.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
God, Like, I think one of the most cringiest stuff
I saw was it when they had RoboCop. Oh yes,
what bro?
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
If you think WW was bad like in that, like
you know, bid nineties period, like ninety three ish, imagine
how bad WCW was.
Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
Oh my god, Like I understand maybe I think the
third RoboCop or second one was coming out that it
was ninety Okay, I'm understanding, like doing it to promote it,
but that was just over the top promotion right there.
I was just like, dude, seriously like that big time.
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Yeah, less we say about that the better. But congratulations
to Earthquake and Typhoon. Typhoon is actually Cody Rhodes is
uncle Oh wow. Yeah, Ord's Cody's words, Uncle Fred. Okay, yeah,
so congratulations to them, and also congratulations to Lana and
Miro who came out yesterday that they renewed their wedding
(01:03:08):
vows and they're back together.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Yeah. I saw. I was like, Oh, I was like, okay, well,
good for them, Okay, very.
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Good for them.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
So certain breakups, certain relationships that are broken tend to
you know, come back together some Yeah, and there are
some that happened that are not meant to come back
j Lo and Ben Affleck. But that's a serfferent story.
(01:03:37):
But yeah, but different story. But no, I'm happy for
the both of them.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
For me too, like sometimes like you kind of maybe
need that break from each other and need to see
that time like away from each other to see like
what life is like without each other, and in some
cases you find your way back to each other. And
in this case that did happen. And I'm happy to
hear that. Yeah. And also that happened with Jake to
Snake Roberts and his wife Cheryl, they just got back
together a few years ago. Two. Oh, okay, that's good
(01:04:03):
after they've been broken up for decades.
Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
But I would say one as far as the TV example,
the one couple that I saw break up and get
back together so many damn times? Was Corey into Pangua.
I think they literally broke up and got back together
five times throughout that whole show.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Good.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
That was even one episode where they like just got
back together the episode before, then the episode later they
broke up in the middle of the episode and got
back together at the end of the episode. Geez, magnus Son. Oh,
I heard they're gonna be doing pod Beats World in
Vegas during WrestleMania Week.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Are you serious? It's gonna be two? Yeah, there's so
much going on in this city during russell Mania Week
the episode.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
Yeah for it. Wow, I went to that show last
year in Atlanta. Yeah, it was fun, man. I would
definitely take a girl there for that kind of.
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Yeah. And with John Cena's recent heel turn that took
place at Elimination Chamber, there was recently a list in
WW ranking the thirty best heel turns of all time,
and this is how they ranked them. Number thirty. Kevin
Owens turning on Sammy's Ain. I'm not sure which time,
but that's number thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
It's probably next maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
Yeah, that one was very well done when it was
the takeover when Sammy's Ain won the title, and then
Kevin Owens came out to celebrate with them, and they
had the copyright box on the screen, and you thought
the show was over, and then lo and behold, Kevin
Owens turns on Sammy's Ain and just beats the shit
out of them. Yeah that was madness, bro. That was
the beginning of the Kevin Owens we know with Love
(01:05:39):
and Also Hate Today Number twenty nine Shins Kate knockem
Moore returning on AJ Styles at WrestleMania thirty four.
Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
Hum.
Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
Yeah, it was cool that night, but unfortunately it didn't
really lead to anything else.
Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
Those are one of those matches where I was looking
forward to, but I got disappointed.
Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
Yeah, knock More just basically became the little Globe king
for a hot minute after that period, Man, is what
it is. Twenty eighteen. Ww's kind of a time gram
I like to forget sometimes.
Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
Wait a minute, I was better than twenty nineteen. I
know that for damn sure, that's not much.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
That is not saying much.
Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
Still, the media was a little bit better than the
media afterwards, But I don't know, like a part of
me kind of wants to like go back and watch
that one.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Hey, I'll say this, WrestleMania thirty four had a hot
start the first hour and a half. Does it fall
off a cliff after that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
I know that. That's why I which I think that
that was the one where I wish, like, man, if
they could have did it that to night Slot liked
how they do now for that one, it would have
been a decent one though, but hey different Sorry, Yeah, that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
If they didn't shove Rocket Roman Reigns down our throats
like they were doing at the time. Oh lord, yeah,
all right, we're moving on number twenty eight. I remember
this one very well because this is when I first
started watching wrestling.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Tataka sells out, oh when he turned hill at a
summersliine when.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
He was a choosing Lex Luger all summer of selling
out to the million dollar man and then go when
behold it was him who was selling out to the
million dollar man the whole damn time.
Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
That was funny Gorilla Monts who told him you were
a disgraced the Native Americas. That was so hard when
I heard that. It was funny.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Yeah, that was a good heelter though. That was it was.
Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
It was came out of nowhere.
Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Number twenty seven. Finn Battle attacks Johnny Gargano. Number twenty six,
Bailey attacks Becky Lynch. That was from twenty nineteen. I
remember that, yeah, I was on Rock. Yeah, like right
after SummerSlam.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
That was something that Becky no sorry, that Bailey needed
to do.
Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
The Heilter wasn't official until that SmackDown when she came
out and destroyed like the barey own animals with the
balloon things. Yeah, and then cut the promo on the audience.
I was there for that shoe actually now now.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
I remember that. That was. Yeah, that was something that
needed to happen for her character change and kind of
like shed that innocence off of her. So yeah, that
was that was a good one that I remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Yeah, paid off well for she had had long ass
Rainus macdow Women's Champion. Oh, number twenty five. This is
a good one. Mark Henry fake retires to turn on
John Cena. Oh oh that was great.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
I'm retiring, you know, that's it, you know, thank you,
And he's crying and he's holding the belt and boom
he slams John Z and out of nowhere. Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
Yeah, the salmon sweater speech, yep. Salmon Blazer. I'm sorry,
yep yo, but he sold the ship out of that.
But he was crying. He was talking about like how
his daughter cries when he he's for his road trips,
and how like he's coming home, coming home to his family,
and then he fucking turns on Johnson at the end
of it. That's probably the best thing Mark ke We
(01:09:05):
ever did in this career. In my opinion, that was
my favorite thing you ever do. I agree even more
than a May Young stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
Oh come on now, you can't come on that. That
crap was funny. Come on now, and you have brown
Chauffur come on that that was trap.
Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
Was funny when he yeah, when he was sexual Chocolate,
when he went out.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
With China, Oh yeah, I can't forget about that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
I'm not gonna lie that theme music that's sexualos with themes.
Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
Some very white stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
Man was all right. But moving on number twenty four,
Leader portrays Kane to join Edge.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Oh I could saw that coming from a model away.
That was like that. That was interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Were basically doing what happened in real life with the
whole Matt Hardy and Edge stuff with with Kine at
the time. But this is like obviously before Matt Hardy
came back. Yeah, so basically yeah that one, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Number twenty three Sammy's Ain saves Kevin Owens at Hell
in a Cell. Oh yeah, I remember that one the
woman Shane McMahon When Seane McMahon was gonna do the
(01:10:09):
elbow dropped to Omens off the top of the cell,
but then Samuy's A moved Kevin Owens out of the way.
Oh what year was this, twenty seventeen? Okay, okay, Yeah,
it was a pretty good heel turn. Yeah, Sammy's Ain
was a heel for like a good five years after that. Yeah, yeah, madness,
but he did all with it. Number twenty two Ric
(01:10:33):
Flair turns on Sting, which time though he turned on
him twice.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Yeah, because at one point Sting joined the Four Horsemen
and they turned on and made Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
They're probably referring to that one, but the one I'm
maybe thinking about is in ninety five when Rick Flair
was begging Sting to be his partner to go against
arn Anderson and Brian Coleman. And then when they were
about to have the match, like Rick Flair like got
attacked backstage by the before the match, and then in
the middle of the match with players showed up to
be and Sting's cornered to tag in like his in
(01:11:06):
his like dress pants and everything. And then right when
he tagged into the match, it turns on Sting.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Wow, that's funny.
Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
And that's when they formed the newer version of the
Horsemen with like Flair, Anderson, Pimhiman and also Ben wib
Yeah remember that shit good times. Well that part of
WCW at the time, does it be?
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Is good? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
Okay, moving on number twenty one, So Massa Champer turns
on Johnny Gargano. That was a good point. Oh yes,
I led to one of their best youth in NXT history.
Number twenty Matt Hardy turns on Jeff Hardy.
Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Oh yes, and I know a lot of big time
Jeff Hardy fans were heartbroken from that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
So, yeah, that was supposed to be Christian apparently who
was going to be in that spot, but apparently, yeah,
apparently he got leave, so Vince BigMan changed it to
Matt Hardy. I mean I wasn't watching at the time,
but I was. Say what you want about the few
that followed, but that moment I'm sure, it was probably
interesting and shocking for many fans.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Yeah, it was, especially for a big time jeff Hardy fantom.
You know a lot of a lot of those fans
are like really just heartbroken from that though. But it
was a just a crazy turn of events. I know
that for a fact, so.
Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Very crazy turn of events. And moving on number nineteen,
seem Punk attacks the Rock on ROB one thousand.
Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Oh yes, Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
That was so good.
Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
That was so good out the way it came out
of nowhere, dude, the rock gets involved, and this is
where seampunk is like truthfully, is like, you know, I'm
being disrespected. I've been to WW champion for this long
and I'm just still kind of like being shelved and
(01:12:58):
you know, okay here, but it's like you know what
I mean. Yeah, And it was weird. That was a
weird one because like when he did that, this was
before SummerSlam, right, and yeah, they didn't really like say that,
oh he's a heel yet even in summer, so I
(01:13:19):
didn't really see him as like a heel not and
then one when he I remember he had that segment
with j R and all that, That's when I was like, okay.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Jerry Lawler. It's when we attacked Jerry.
Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Yeah, and then when I saw him with Hyman, that's
when I was like, okay, he's he really really turned out,
we could say him attacking the Rock. That was kind
of like the start of it, the start of it. Yeah,
really the start of it. I remember that clear as day.
I can't believe that was I felt like it was yesterday. Man.
Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
Wow, Yeah, I remember like it was yesterday too. Yeah.
The Rock was about to do the people's up with
the big show and then probably just closed lines him
and hits him with the GTS and yeah, it was
a wrap.
Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Yeah. And I remember that was the night where The
Rock announced that he was going to face the champion
up to Roy Rumble the following year.
Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
Yeah, that was a start to the builds for that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Yeah. And and also sadly this was the because it
was it was the one thousands episode, but it was
a three hour show, and that's when they announced that
from then on, every episode is gonna be three hours. Unfortunately,
it's a lot better now though.
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
Yeah, it's a lot better now with only two and
a half hours.
Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
Bad mistake. You do three hour shows for special occasions
like that, but not for every episode, my god.
Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
But regardless, still a great heel. It's funny. I saw
the rock at the gym the next day. Actually yeah,
it was working on extra hard. Yeah yeah, but that
definitely a well done field turn. I don't punk didn't
want to do it because they like ate into his
merchandise money, but it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Ah, that dude was still selling merch even when it
was a heel. I remember, I remember of his merchandise,
and I remember when he was here. He looked like
I saw like a dozen of crowd, dozen of fans
in one section. Wheren't like to see him punk merchandise.
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
So no, he was good man, no nah. But I
get it though, because he was definitely a hot baby
face after the whole pipe bomb and everything, and yeah,
ramon heel. It was a bit of a bummer. I'm
not gonna lie. It was.
Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
I was like fuck, I was like damn it. And
I was like, I was kind of like damn it.
I like you, but it's like, why are you a heal?
But I was like I still like you.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
Yeah, it was. It was mixed like that Hilton was
well done, but you were kind of bummed that he
was turning true.
Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
Though, But then when Hayman came in, I was like,
you know what, I kind of do feel a little
bit better. So yeah, I look back at it like, hey,
greatly though, but at that time I was kind of like,
damn it, damn it, you know, like yeah, okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
Moving on number eighteen, Scott Steiner joins the nWo M.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
He was just recently on Chris van Fleet.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
Yeah, who did not have such nice things to say
about whole Coogan surprise, not surprised now, Yeah, but it's
funny he says those things about Hogan being racist when
his brother has been kind of known for saying some
questionable things too.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
There was a clip that I saw yesterday from a
few years ago where Rick Steiner was basically saying the
only reason why Booker t was the WCW champion was
because like he protested to the NAACP or he politics,
and like they only gave it to him because he
was black, like basically saying.
Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
That, Oh, whoa wow.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
And I'm sure you heard about that incident at a
convention a few years ago where you like openly started
talking shit to this transgrestor, like you know, calling that
person a whole bunch of names. Yeah, yeah, I think
that's footage of that too. I think there's actually footage
of what he said.
Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
Yeah, not a good look. But that's another story. But yeah,
when Scott Stander turned on his brother and joined the
nWo and then became big pop up Pump, Yeah, that
shit was a big deal at the time it happened.
Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
You know, I would like to see bron Breaker at
WrestleMania where the chain link.
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
I mentioned a few weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Yeah, I'll be so dope if he were. Was that
at WrestleMania. Oh, that'll be so badass.
Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
Yeah, that would be dope. And it's funny. I think
Scott Steiner supposedly was the first person to ever do
the four fifty splash. Really, Yeah, there's actually footage of it. Yeah,
from like eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
It's very funny. Just real quick before you move forward.
It was very interesting that Chris van Fleet thought like
you got more like more ripped in buff when you
went to WWE, and he said, like, no, actually trimmed down.
He was more bulkier during his first run, but when
he came back, he just he all he all he
did was just like he just you know, trimmed down,
(01:17:53):
and it looked he just got more cut. But you
could tell, you could definitely tell he looked completely different
than versus during his first round. I was like, you
know what, it was like, He's right, he did cut,
cut up a little bit. He looks more trimmed and
cut Versus his first run, first run, who was like
way more bulkier and.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
His first WW run they were drug testing.
Speaker 2 (01:18:18):
Yeah, I know though, but like same time though, he
just he just he just he cut lean and cut
is a big difference than Bulkier.
Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
So yeah, it's a shame that, like they were a
great team, but it's a shame that they were in WW,
like during a downtime for them.
Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
Oh yeah, yeah, ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
Three, Yeah, it was definitely the dog days.
Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Yeah ninety three Yeah, no, well ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
Two was still pretty good, but ninety three is shit.
Ninety three is trash. Yeah all right, but yeah that's
another story. Number seventeen. I know you're gonna love this one.
Tris Stratus turns on Christ Jericho.
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Oh god, I pissed me off. Oh jeez, so I
was angry.
Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
I don't blame you for being angry.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Oh my god. The fact leg it went to like, oh,
I accidentally hit you, Chris, and then you know Christian,
you know, beats up Chris Jericho more then down the ramp.
Then it turns like, oh he's making up with Christian.
I was like, what the hell is this crap? Yeah, Mattie, Oh,
(01:19:26):
it was pissed.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
Yeah, that's funny. They didn't find out that that was
going to be going down until that day. Yeah, crazy
Trish turned baby face at WrestleMania and turned heel at WrestleMania.
Mm hmm on the other person to do that was
Stone Cold Steve Boston. Oh, Brett Hart too, my bad,
Brett Hart. Yeah, all right, moving hard. Number sixteen. Eddie
(01:19:49):
Guerrero turns on Raymond stereo.
Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Not that that I saw that from a mile away.
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
Everybody saw it from a mile away. Eddie Guerrero was
losing his mind because he was losing a Ray in
the stereo so much and he just couldn't take it anymore.
M Yeah. But that beating he gave him on that
one smack down when he souper plexed him on the steps,
that was son.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
That's very brutal.
Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
Number fifteen. This should be ranked a lot higher but
it's number fifteen. The Megapowers explode.
Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
Oh, and I know we've went on and on about
this stuff, but that was a very good heel turn
and just yeah, yeah, one of the.
Speaker 1 (01:20:31):
Best heel turns. One of the best angles WW ever did.
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
I mean, Savage had his rights to be angry, but
just the way he went about it and probably just snapped, Yeah,
it was ugly, son, It was ugly. Yeah. People like
to think that, Yeah, Hogan was the real heel in
that scenario, and he did do some sketchy shit during
that time, I will admit, But the fact that Savage
like shoved down Elizabeth as she was trying to stop
(01:20:57):
him from attacking Hogan, Yo, that's some heel shit. Yep,
major league heel shit. A great angle, nonetheless, So let's
move on number fourteen. Bob Backlan snaps on Brett Hart.
Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
Was it ninety four?
Speaker 1 (01:21:12):
Ninety four? Yeah, because Brett Hard and Bob back then
had a match on Superstars that Brett Hart won, and
then Brett Hart tried to shake Bob Backlan's hand after
the match, and then Bob back and slapped him and
put him in the chicken wing. And then I was
the start of the whole crazy vibe. After that, it
is doing. You know that chicken wing was one painful
last move. Son, that shit looks like I did.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
My brother did that to me a long Well, we'll
do that to me years ago. I was like, damn
of all the the submission moves, I hated that one.
Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
Yeah, all I remember Survivor series ninety four when Backlan
had Brett Hart in that move for like a good
five minutes. It's crazy, but yeah, I did like that
Bob back then. He'll run in ninety four, that ship
was very, very entertaining.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
I can't believe they put the title on him. I
was like, my god, this is.
Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
When I went to This is when I first started
watching too. Yeah. This is literally like my early early
days of becoming a wrestling families. Yeah, this sole angle.
Moving on to our next entry, Number thirteen. Shane mcmhon
turns on the miss Bro that's ranked up way too high.
That is not number thirteen out of the Big Powers.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Wow, carry on, I have nothing to say about move on, please.
Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
Okay, okay. Number twelve, This is a really good one.
Paul Bear turns on the Undertaker.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
Ooh, a sad one in a shocking one.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Yeah, because they were a package deal, like from Baby
they first got together in ninety one up until that night, Yeah,
Undertaker and Paul Bear were a package deal. And yeah
for Paul Bear to turn on him and then align
himself with Mankind, yeah that was a huge shock. Yeah. Wow, Yeah,
I actually do a good Paul Bar impression. I did
(01:23:02):
it actually on the other show I'm doing on the
PW Torch site. It's actually an episode that we did
that dropping soon. It's about the five best Wrestledmania build
and I was talking about the Undertaker and Cane build,
and I was doing the Paul Bar impression, saying, Kane
is alive. Kane is alive, Undertaker, your brother Kane is coming.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Oh shit.
Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
But yeah, great, great heel turned. That was definitely one
of the better ones for.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Matter of hands down, shocking one and a sad one
number eleven.
Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
This one's ranked too high. I think Batista turns on
Raymas Stereo.
Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
I remember this one, and at this time I wasn't
you know, I had stopped watching wrestling, but I heard
about it and and I did see the video of it.
It's a good one and it compared just like undertaking
to Paul Bear. It's a shocking one, but as a
sad one because you got to remember, Batista and Raymond
(01:24:04):
Stereo were very good tag team partners during two thousand
and five, especially during after Eddie Guerrero's passing and how
it all came about because Batistas was trying to, you know,
get a title shot because but Raymond Stereo, I don't
know what he did. He kind of like costs him
(01:24:26):
that title, and uh, that upset of Batista and and
then one of the saddest things that ever happened. You know,
I remember moving forward, Raymonsterio talking about Eddie, but then
you know, Batista lashes out, saying Eddie's dead and I
was like, oh wo and then but that was afterwards.
But the actual heel turned when it happened is when
(01:24:48):
he pretty much was saying, Raymondster like, you know, you
just even you know, really making me angry a lot,
and blah blah blah. He just just brutalizes him afterwards.
So it's because of the relationship they had back then
in two thousand and five, and you fast forward to
that point in two thousand and nine, because of that
bond that they had because of Eddie and they split up.
(01:25:09):
That's what makes it sad.
Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
Yeah, very much so. And this was the start of
the whole Hollywood Batista era, like when he went into
twenty ten and had that future jiant Seena going in
to wrestling. It all started right here when he turned
down Ray.
Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Yeah, it wasn't matching at the time either, but like
from the highlight I saw, like from the beat down, Yeah, it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Was brutal, very brutal.
Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
Yeah, everybody turning on Raymistereo. It's not cool.
Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
I know him and dump damn Eddie Patisila and his son.
Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
Shit, damn, Now you're gonna turn on Raymisterio is like
the nicest guy.
Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Gee, and I met the dude.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
I guess they don't like his taste of music.
Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
You don't know what music you like?
Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
Those are a given.
Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
What the hell?
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
I'm sure he like Snoop Dogg. You roll with Snoop
dog to the ring in WrestleMania two years ago. Geezh, yeah, man, right,
Let's move on to our next entry, number ten. This
is a very good one. Triple H attacks Daniel Bryant,
leading to Randy Jordon cashing in the money in the
bank at summer side.
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
What's a good one?
Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Oh my god?
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
And you know what, I was actually happy because Triple
H when he returned to you turned from his squad
injury in two thousand and seven, he was literally like
a babyface from that point up until then. That was
way overdue. Geez. I was saying to myself, No, I
(01:26:43):
remember when he came back. I thought he was gonna
turn Hill. I was hearing rumors that he was going
to turn Hill No. Seven. But he didn't. But anyway,
he was he was a babyface too long. Even after
I stopped watching wrestling, he was still a baby I
was like, my god, I was like, And then we
finally turned hill in twenty thirteen when he was, you know,
(01:27:05):
being the CEO and all that, and you know, he
helped Orton to you know, beat Daniel Brian, which was
another shocker. I was like, thank god, he's a heel, Like,
thank god, this is the Triple ege that I know.
Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
Yeah, and that was one of his best heel runs
that he ever went on. Was that whole authority era
when him and Stephanie were the best or one of
his best, one of his best. Yeah, when him and
Stephanie were like the evil authority figures again and they
had like Randy Orton is there, hand picked champion, and
they had that whole Brian that went all the way
to wrestle Mania the next year. Yeah, that was great stuff. Yeah,
(01:27:42):
it just definitely went great as the heel authority figure.
Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
It's just how, it's just how the how the way
that whole thing went down. Because Orton shows up. You
gotta remember you're you're very happy for Daniel Brian. Oh
my god, he won the title finally he beat John
Zena of all people. And then you know, Orton comes
out and you're thinking, oh my god, he's gonna cash in.
But then he's like, oh, he's just you know, showing up.
He's not gonna do it whatever, and then boom, out
(01:28:06):
of nowhere, triple H pedigrees Daniel Bryan out of nowhere,
and then Orton cashes and that's the shocking part of it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
And this is on a paper view.
Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
This is on a pay per view.
Speaker 1 (01:28:17):
I know, you know, I was watching it that night.
I was watching it that night it happened. Yeah. Yeah,
it was great, man. That was one of the best
angles they did during that era. Yeah, Brian wins the title.
He beats seeing a clean he's celebrating, there's a confetti
and everything. You think, you know, the show was gonna
end that way. Then Randy Yorton comes out teasing a
cash in and then Triple ah hwosing the referee shirt.
(01:28:40):
He just pedigrees Daniel Brian tells the referee to ring
them I'm sorry, tells the time people to ring the bell,
and then counts the pin for Orton to become the champion. Yeah,
it was great. You were pissed off, but yo, this
is great. This is a cinema sun Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
It was a sad, shocking one though, but at the
same time, at the end of it, I was like, man,
I'm so happy Triple H is finally he went back
to his old ways because that's the Triple H. I know.
He was just yeah, do his baby for too long.
It was like he was like handcuffed or something like that.
Like when I look back, you know from Triple H
(01:29:14):
like seven o eight oh nine, I'm just like, damn it,
like this is not you dude.
Speaker 1 (01:29:19):
Yeah, And like I said that he will work that
he was doing for that period, Yo, it was top notch,
especially that angle that he did when like he had
the police officers like arrest Daniel Bryant, but then they
were actually working for him the whole time. And then
he just beat the hell out of Daniel Bryan. You're like,
you know, like slamm him on the announced table. We
pettigreet him and kicked him in the face. That was gruesome.
So yeah, I was heated. I was heated when he
(01:29:42):
did that shit. But I let one of the best
storylines going into wrestle Bania period and one of the
best payoffs we've seen that a WrestleMania too. Yeah, Triple
H is honestly on my mount Rushmore of heels. It's
Triple H, Flair, Dbse and Vince Okay, okay, number nine,
(01:30:02):
This one should not be ranked that high. Even though
it was a good heel turn. This heel turn actually
happened the next year at Summer Slam. Nicky Bella turns
on Prebella.
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Oh yeah, that is too high.
Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
You know, it was a good heel turn. I'm not
gonna say that it was.
Speaker 2 (01:30:19):
It was too high, there's no it's shocking, but it's like.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
It's not well, I would call it shocking, per.
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Se to put that over the Megapowers and.
Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
And Mark Henry's The Mark Henry one was better than that.
Oh yeah, yeah, but I saw that coming. I figured
Nicki Bella was gonna turn because like Stephanie was like
terrorizing Nicki Bella after like Bribella quit and then Rebella
came back and got me and stated to go agains
Stephanie at SummerSlam. And then when Nicky Bella came out
and then her and Bree were like standing in between Stephanie,
(01:30:52):
I'm like, she's gonna turn on her, She's gonna turn
on her, and lo and behold she turned on her.
Mm hmm. Just too high, yeah, and then they only
like ran that like angle for a few months, and
then they just got back together as if nothing happened.
Mad whax Son, mad whack. But this was a good
heel turn. I will flye that, but just way too
(01:31:14):
high on the list. Number eight Jimmy Usso turns on
j Uso.
Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Yeah too high, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:31:25):
And especially from the way it paid off and then
in that WrestleMania match. Yeah, I wouldn't make it that
high either. Number seven. I wouldn't even call this a
heel turn. Becky Lynch turns on Charlotte Flair at Summer
Slam in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
Yeah, oh yeah, that was.
Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
More a super baby face turn than a heel turn.
M h. Yeah, because the crowd cheered when she did it. Still, yeah,
right when she slapped Charlotte, the crowd went crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Yeah, because everybody's kind of tired of Charlotte Flair a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:31:57):
So. Yeah. Even Becky told the people in the office like, yo,
people are gonna cheer me when this happens. They're not
gonna boom. And it shows how brain dead people like
Vincent other people in the office were at the time,
like thinking that, oh, she's gonna be a heel. They're
gonna root against her when she does this. No they're not,
bro No they're not. But yeah, it was great though,
(01:32:22):
the way they played that out that night, that was
the highlight of that whole Summer Slam, and that was
the whole beginning of the Becky the Man character. Yeah,
but I don't consider it a heal turn, but it
was definitely be a great angle, no doubt about it.
Number six. This is the most recent one on the list.
Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston turned on Biggie.
Speaker 2 (01:32:43):
Uh given to cerrity that they've been together for so
many years and that happens. I get it, but it's
it's still too high. Just as we go up and
higher and higher with these rankings, I'm just like, these
are too high.
Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
Yeah, I agree, Yeah, certain ones.
Speaker 2 (01:33:05):
The Megapowers was that one number fifteen? Oh my god, that.
Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
That reminds me of when WW came out with this
DVD of the top fifty WW Superstars of all time
and they ranked whole Cogan is like number twenty five. Look,
we're not fans of Hogan these days for a lot
of reasons, but come on, son, number twenty five, Come on, son.
Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
Who's in charge of this rankings? Is there? I thought
the College Football Committee was worse. This is bad.
Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
I think they did this on purpose to get us, like,
you know, to argue the way we're arguing right now
about it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
All right, let's move on to the top five. Number
five the Chicken Tender slut Dominic Mysterio turns on his father,
Ray Mysterio.
Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
I was speaking of raymis Stereo funny damn in this.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
List three times. Holy shit, damn. But that was a
good turn though. That was a very good turn. That
led to a great story heading into that WrestleMania the
next year.
Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
And it was funny when I was at SummerSlam and
Tony twenty one, I thought dom was gonna turn hill
that moment. I thought he was gonna turn hill around
that year.
Speaker 1 (01:34:23):
Yeah, I thought so soon. Yeah, I was thinking the
same thing. But yeah, they waited and so the following
and it was well done. That started Dominic becoming a
part of Judgment Day and the whole like dynamic between
him and Rio Ripley, and then the whole ex con
dom thing when he spent hard time in prison and
you know, helped out his black okay to earn that
(01:34:46):
street craig.
Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Uh huh. Yeah he did some culture brand too, huh.
He slinging and dying huh.
Speaker 1 (01:34:52):
He was about those locals forever.
Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
Bro. Oh yeah right, Bro. When he hears you talking,
he didn't want to. You know. See, if he ran
into Popeye, he that would have been the end of him.
Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
When he hears you talk like this, you're gonna end
up missing like Jimmy hoss With's son.
Speaker 2 (01:35:09):
Please. No, he doesn't want to deal with pop Peye.
Pop Pee would have he would have demanded some Chu
chung from him for my veers.
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
If you know, you know, if you know, you know,
if you know, you know, that's type song can put
your team.
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
Yeah. But Great Hills are my dominic. And he's still
one of the most despised people in the entire company
to this day.
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Do you think you ever turn back, Babyface?
Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
Maybe maybe someday. All right, but let's move on number four.
This is definitely deserving to be in the top five.
Sean Michaels turns on Marty Janetty.
Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
Ooh god, good one. And this was on a this
is on a talk show, This is one barbershop. Yeah,
and this is this whole thing. Oh, just how the
way it was planned because you know, there was like
dissension between them. They even put this on a WW
magazine about how like just something going on between them
(01:36:09):
two and they both Sean agreed to like, look, you're right,
I'm gonna do better, got to get my act together.
Let's be a tag team, you know, let's do it
like the Rockers do. And you know, they both put
their hands up in the air, you know, just salute
into the crowd and bang he hits them. That's super
kick and then insult the injury. He throws Martin Jeannetti
(01:36:33):
through the glass window.
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
Oh man, that was nasty. You you did not see
shit like that in WW during that time.
Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
And Martin Jeannetti, of course he's bleeding. But you gotta
remember this is what ninety one, So it was very
violent and graphic at the time. Man, they didn't do
stuff like that, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:36:47):
Yeah, it was different. Yeah, one of the best, one
of the best tag team breakups ever and also one
of the best heel turns ever where this is basically
the start of Sean Michaels as a solo act as
the Heartbreak Kid.
Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
It's like a startup ascension to the top.
Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
Yeah, and you do feel bad for Martin Jeanette because
you know, Marty, he did nothing. They do nothing with
him moving forward. Yeah, they did a feud with each
other moving forward, but like we're talking about long term,
nothing compared to what they did for Sean.
Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
Yeah, definitely, But you have to look at it like this,
at the end of the day, it's not just you know,
the company's fault. Marty Jeannetti in many ways did it
to himself, true.
Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Yeah, because he had his he had his problems outside
of the ring, that is true.
Speaker 1 (01:37:29):
A month a month after that happened, he got arrested
for like a like an incident outside of a bar
and he was put on house arrest for six months.
Oh my god, that's why he wasn't at WrestleMania eight.
They were going to do this match between them a
lot sooner at your WrestleMania eight, but Marty Jeanetti was
on house arrest, so that's why they did Tito Santana instead. Yeah,
and they didn't have the actual feudings like a year later.
Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:37:52):
I think Marty Jeannetti has the record for being fired
the most times by WWE. No, it's at least like
six times. Him and Jim Denvil Nighthart, I think have
the record. Geez, so crazy. They were both a part
of like really great tag teams where the where their
partners went on to like great success, being like two
of the greats of all time, and the two of
(01:38:14):
them like both ended up having their problems to the
point where they were like constantly and out of the
company and an out of trouble, always having issues more
so Jeannetti. But still wow, yeah, crazy man. But yeah,
this is a well done angle. Definitely one of the
better angles they were doing in that like early nineties period. Yeah,
(01:38:35):
it was gruesome. Sun and Bobby Heen kept saying that
Marty Janetti jumped through the window.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
Oh yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:38:44):
Yeah, but definitely one of the best breakups. And yeah,
best he'll turns in the history of that entire company.
Number three, Seth Rollins turns on the shield.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
That was a good one. I didn't see it coming.
Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
I was super thought and I thought I thought they
were posted. I thought they were going to break up
way earlier than that. I thought going into Rustlemania thirty,
I thought they were going to break up. But they didn't.
I was like, Okay, never mind, they're They were teasing
it a little bit, but after that I was like, oh, well,
I have nothing to worry about. Especially when they were
(01:39:22):
feeding with Evolution, I was like, oh, just forget about it.
Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
Yeah, there was some money to be made with them
as baby faces, and they were doing well and then
just out of nowhere, they break them up.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
Yeah, And to this day, it's debated, even when you
know they interview mainly Seth. He had his doubts about
it too, whether if it was rushed, if it was
too soon to break them up.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Yeah, there's definitely an argument you can make because they
still had juice left A's baby faces. They were only
going a hot run at the time. But I guess
because Danie O'Brien is just like you know, been sidelined,
they needed to have more like single stars in that
main event picture. So that played a big part in
why they did it. Yeah. Yeah, but it was definitely
a good turn. Like regardless of whether we're not he
felt like it was the right time or whatnot, it
(01:40:14):
was definitely well done where just Triple H is cutting
a promo with Randy Orton standing behind him and he
talking about a Plan B and then Seth Rollins literally
has to share in his hand and just hits Roman
in the back and then hits You got to remember
that it joined the authority.
Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
Also, you got to remember that Plan B because you
got to remember, like, like I think, like the week
prior of that, Batista left.
Speaker 1 (01:40:36):
Batista left, that night, that night, Batista left, Oh that.
Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
Night, all that night, that's right, Oh my god, it
was that night.
Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
Okay, Yeah, but it was a well done heel turn
one that they still go back in reference to this day,
which is playing a huge part in the Roman and
seth Rollins issues right now, and I can't wait to
see how it plays out. Yes, yes, all right, so
number two Hulk Hogan joins the nWo.
Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
That should not be number two, should be number one.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
I agree, But this list they made and yeah, Hulk
Hogan's He'll Turn in ninety six was groundbreaking. That shit
changed the wrestling industry.
Speaker 2 (01:41:20):
Yeah, I'm not just talking about w CW, but also
WW just wrestling in general. That's would really turn the
nineties culture of wrestling.
Speaker 1 (01:41:31):
Yeah, because before that, Hogan in WCW was still playing
the same character you played in WW, the same old
yellow and red, the same old ear thing, the same
old poses. And yeah, the fans were sick of it,
Like they were already hitting sick of it by the
end of his WW run, but they were really sick
of it during this point in WCW. And then Hall
and Nash come into WCW after being two of his
(01:41:54):
top stars in WWE, and then talking about this third
man for weeks talking about how they have a third
member look for him, and then he was gonna make
his appearance on this night, and as they're in a
match with Sting and also Randy Savage, hul Cogan comes
out to kind of back them up, or so it seems,
and then Hogan rips his shirt off and they run
(01:42:14):
out of the ring, and then out of nowhere, hul
Cogan drops the leg on Randy Savage.
Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
Shit.
Speaker 1 (01:42:22):
Yep, I'll never forget. I was watching him live that
night it happened, and I could not believe what I
was seeing.
Speaker 2 (01:42:28):
Crowd wasn't having it. They're throwing trash onto the.
Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
Yeah, the ring was full of garbage. The ring might
as well have been the trash can like an audience.
Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
I wish fans could be a little ballsier and do
that now, but.
Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
It's not that they should have done that with Roman
be Cody two years ago at Wrestlemedia.
Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
Yeah, I wash, I don't know. That's one of the
things I miss about wrestling back in the day. I
missed that when fans were upset, they will throw, you know,
garbage into the rain. I missed the the I really
missed when fans brought their up through signs. I missed that.
Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
Well. There's still big signs today, but.
Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Not compared to back in the day, It's like everybody
had a sign show starts as all you saw was
the signs. I was just like, oh my, it just
felt like I think the only time when we see
fans of a lot of signs is out of Rustlemania.
Speaker 1 (01:43:24):
Yeah, but a lot more nowadays. I've been noticing it
a lot more lately.
Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:43:29):
Yeah, but they're throwing garbage all in the ring. Even
me and Gene got hit with like a bottle or something,
And yeah, it was It was nuts. It was pandemonium
that night. Like I said, Man, I was watching it
live as it was happening, and yeah, I could not
believe whole Cogan actually turned bad. Honestly, looking back at it,
especially now, it was the right move because harand natural
(01:43:52):
just came off of being in WWE, and Hogan was
the ultimate WWE guy. He was the WWE guy. So yeah,
it was a natural fit.
Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
And sometimes in this business you have to make some
changes of your character, you know what I mean, Like Bailey.
Speaker 1 (01:44:10):
Dominant Sterio.
Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
You have to take some leaps and to make some
changes of your character and then it'll work out and
it will benefit you in the end. This was one
of them, and it went He completely went to the
dark side because he went to that bright red and
yellow to black, darker colors and wearing black made it
(01:44:37):
look and he made it look good and cool man
to like, Oh, wearing black and wearing these colors and
being bad is cool, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
And he also had the black beard. And when he
won the title the next monthday spray painted the nWo
on the belt. Yeah, they were running rough shot like
that early part of the UO, that ninety six part
of the nWo was white hot.
Speaker 2 (01:45:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
Yeah. It was the best thing in wrestling period. There
was nothing WW could do with that period, at least
to match what they were doing. Yeah, and it's crazy.
Hogan was like the catalyst for two boom periods in wrestling,
the eighties boom and then the boom in the nineties
with the nWo. One has a baby face and one
as a heel. That's unheard of.
Speaker 2 (01:45:22):
M hmm. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45:24):
Like I said, say what you want about Hogan as
a person, whether you're a fan of his or not,
that dude is definitely a legend. That dude definitely deserves
his flowers in that regard for being that face of
two different errors, one as a good guy one as
a bad guy and just having that longevity, Like very
few people in wrestling have longevity the way that Hogan did.
And yeah, you got to give him credit for them.
Speaker 2 (01:45:45):
I remember years ago when Lebron, when Lebron James made
a decision to go to Miami, they made a video
of him of that reference when Hogan turned what are
you joining to end? Oh, they kind of like made
sense where it's like Lebron on me d Way and
Chris Bosh. It was the funniest I said. I was like,
(01:46:09):
I get the old message.
Speaker 1 (01:46:12):
Yeah, they were basically heals that whole season.
Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
They were. I hated the Miami at that time, though
when I look back, when I look back at it,
it's just, oh, so you know, it wasn't that bad.
Speaker 1 (01:46:27):
But but I'll say this, even if you did hate them,
it did make the games a lot more interesting, and
it made the NBA in general a lot more interesting
just to have that team to root against, Like in
many ways, having that villain to root against makes it
more fun.
Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
Get in. I missed that, but I kind of took
that for granted a little bit. Yeah, I missed that
compared to now those are in the Celtics. It's just like, damn,
there's no team. I just like, I just like I
want you to go. I want you to lose. Except
for football. When it comes to the Chiefs, that didn't.
Yeah that's different, but it already happened when they lost
(01:47:03):
the Super Bowl, thank god.
Speaker 1 (01:47:05):
But yeah, yeah, one of the best heel turns in
wrestling history should definitely be number one, but this is
what it is. Yeah, definitely a hill turn I'll never
forget and one that changed the wrestling industry and revolutionized
this industry that we love so much. Yea, and number one.
John Cena turns on Cody Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
Yeah, I mean we talked about what happened in our
last episode, and yeah, it's look, if you're new, if
you're younger, and if you're new, then it is more shocking.
It is way more shocking to be like, oh my god,
(01:47:49):
because like you gotta remember your whole entire life. John
Zena was a good guy. He was like you're modern
day Hulk Hogan. He was the face of the company.
He was that person that you've never seen this guy
turn bad, but he did. But for us because older,
(01:48:13):
it's like, yeah, it's shocking. That he did it. But
it's like, Okay, this is not the first time we've
seen this. We've seen John Cena heel before, very early
in his career.
Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
Yeah, But the thing is, it's shocking because of the
fact that it's the first time it's happened in years
for one, and second for the fact that we kind
of gave up hope on it by this point because
he's retiring at the end of his career. We figured like, yo,
that ship is saaled. But lo and behold, it actually happened.
Speaker 2 (01:48:39):
Yeah. And I thought he was going to do it, like,
you know, years ago, but he didn't do it. But
that's that's where I was like, Okay, never mind, you
know what I mean. But I'm just curious on how
this is going to I can't wait for next week.
I'm just curious how this is gonna turn out.
Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
Yeah, that first heel promo and whatever he ends up
doing with Cody, Yeah, that is going to be something
to watch.
Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
So exactly, let's see how this whole thing is gonna
turn out.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Yeah, this is definitely making the road to WrestleMania a
lot more interesting. It's making John Cena a lot more interesting,
and yeah, I'm all here for it. Man. It's something
I never thought would happen at this point, but I'm
glad that we got it same here. Yeah, I mean,
I don't think it should be ranked number one, personally,
it should definitely be in the top chain number one. Yeah,
(01:49:31):
Cogie should definitely be number one. But this is definitely
a top ten heel turn, especially with all the intin
it's getting from the mainstream media, with Shannon Sharp talking
about it, ESPN talking about it. Yeah, Yeah, this is
a big deal, man, and also all the memes we've
been seeing from it ever since. Like I think I
saw this meme of like the Eminem stand song where
it says Stan when he writes his first letter to
(01:49:53):
Eminem Stan when he writes his third letter to Eminem. Yeah, yeah,
And Cody was the perfect person to do, because yeah,
Cody's just that guy right now. And it feels like nowadays,
whoever turns on Cody's gonna be the most hated man
in wrestling, and now of all people, that's John Cena.
Speaker 2 (01:50:13):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:50:14):
But definitely he'll turn for the history books and what
we're gonna be talking about for a very very long time,
all right, bro, anything else you want to get into tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
Not at all. I need to get some get some

we did not get interesting And I'm also going to

the top ten lists actually wrote movie related, was the

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
I saw that was very interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:51:40):
