Speaker 1 (00:01):
Yo, yo yo, what is going on in my fellow
wrestling fans around the world. Welcome to a brand new
week and welcome to a brand new edition of what
we like to call The Clash of Champions, where we
dive headfirst into all the personality, storylines, controversies, and everything
in between that center around this world we know we
(00:22):
love as professional wrestling. For better or words, sign your
host the Begon you believe in Conscious Kurt aka Kurt
gpt in the plusures always and my co host needs
no introduction, but the hell with it. He is going
to give y'all one anyway.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
That's right, ladies and gentlemen. This is Jonathan Randall, his
TAC team partner the Adventure himself at your guys' service,
and welcome to our soap opera that we love to
call professional wrestling. And we had one exciting weekend. We
had not a champions in Saudi Arabia and the show
pretty much delivered, and we're here to do our recap shoh,
(01:00):
to give you our thoughts and the recap on what
happened this past weekend. Had not a champions.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, so that's not waste any more time. Let's dive
into Night of Champions which took place this past Saturday
from Riad, Saudi Arabia, and the show opened with the
finals to the King of the Ring tournament featuring Cody
Rhoads going one on one with Randy Orton.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Good matches start off this night, and this is actually
this was actually a pretty decent matches. It was the
match that I was looking forward to outside of the
main event. And look the result are both of our
results were the same that we picked our in our
prediction show and we were right. But hey, this is
a good match I delivered.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, it was a very good match and all honesty,
was probably the best match of the whole night. And
at one point Randy Orton did hit Cody Roads with
a super plex, but you noticed that Randy Jorton's back
was hurt after that spot, so that would play into
pretty much the rest of the match. And then there
was one point where Randy attempted an RKO but Cody
blocked it into the crossroaw but Orton kicked out. And
then later in the match, Cody was going for the
(02:04):
disaster kick, but then Orton caught his ass in mid
air laid his ass out with an RKAO, but it
still wasn't enough.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Wasn't enough. I liked that spot though. When he counted
that into the RKO we all thought it was over though,
but hey, it wasn't to be. And it looked like
Gorton was about to do some little heel work because
he went out of the ring, you know, to you know,
cause some trouble and look like the refere was about
who was you know, force was gonna disqualify him, But no,
(02:34):
he went to the turnbuckle, took the turnbuckle pad off
and that backfired on Orton. That was pretty much like
the turning point. He throws Randy Oron. Cody Roads throws
Randy Orton into the turn buckle, he hurts himself, and
Cody Roads turns it into a crossroads and gets the one,
two three, and we have our twenty twenty five King
(02:55):
of the Ring.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yes, Cody Rhodes did win the twenty twenty five King
of the Ring. It would have been nice if Sammy's
ain't had won in advance to the finals and all that,
but it is yeah, basically the path to get to
Cody and Sena again at SummerSlam. So with Cody now
being King of the Ring winner. That pretty much made
it official, although we will get to the results of
Sena's match that happened later in the show. But yes,
(03:18):
Cody Rose is your twenty twenty five King of the Ring.
And although he was saying nice words about Randy Orton
in his promo after the match, the look on Randy
Orton's face pretty much smell the heel turn coming on.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, and you talked about this in the last week's episode,
that this could potentially happen, and I saw that too.
The look on Orton's face said the whole story. Man,
He looked pissed. He just he was pissed. That's That's
the only thing I could sum it up. And despite
what Cody Rose was saying, even you know, just trying
to you know, be cheerful and say cheerful things about
(03:51):
Randy Orton, it wasn't cutting it Forton and Orton was
just his second year in a row man. I told you,
don't be like the Edmonton oilers, and happened two years
in a row. You lose in a final and phil
bad for Orton. But yeah, definitely incoming. He'll turn for
Randy Orton in the future. But I love the I
(04:12):
love what Cody Road said in this promo about moving
forward to SummerSlam. How you know, he is the quarterback
and he gets the ball back at Summer Slam. So
we're gonna see what's gonna happen leading up as we
had to Summer Slam in August.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeap, in that stadium where the great Eli Manning won
many a game. He's gonna definitely be in that same
conversation as the dude who gets the ball back come
August third.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
It's so funny when they were talking about Summer Slam,
you know, during you know, during that day. It's funny
because it's very obvious that Michael Cole he is a
Jets fan. He mentioned the Jets, and I was like,
call cycle ball teams man, oh man, the Jets. Oh.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
But we we predicted this, We were dedicted that Cody
was gonna win. And now he's gonna be in the
title match at SummerSlam. And yeah, that Randy Orton heel
turn is definitely coming sooner than later. And all I
can say to Cody Rhodes when that heel turn comes,
watch out, Randy's gonna kick your head off. Frandy's gonna
kick your head off. Yeah, that punk kick is coming.
(05:21):
That punk kinck is inevitable.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Hey, it's not just It's not just Cody. I think
the whole locker room in on SmackDown needs to be alerted.
So watch out.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Nobody's safe. But yeah, Cody Road did your twenty twenty
five came to the ring winner, and that brings us
to our next match we had in a Riod Street
street fight. We had Real Ripley going one on one
with Roquel Rodriguez.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
You know, I think this is the match that a
lot of people were saying that this is the best
match of the night, and this match is delivered as
performance level on For Raquel rod Riga's part, she literally
proved to herself that you know, look, she's as successful
tag team partner right in a tack team division. Very
(06:09):
successful though, but as far as in the singles, oh,
she really just showed everybody that hey, you know what
I'm really I'm more than an attack team person. I
can produce at the singles level.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
When she did, yeah, she did work in this match.
There was this one point where she locked Rhea into
the ropes and like started beating her down with the Kendlestick,
and yeah, this match was pretty brutal, and there was
just one point where, to no surprise, Roxanne Perez came
through to try to help Raquel Rodrigaz win the match,
but she paid the price when she suffered a suplex
on the floor by Ria for her troubles. And they
(06:41):
kept constantly trying to set the table up in the ring,
but like they kept interrupting each other and it ended
up not happening. But then ultimately Rhea set the table
up on the top rope and then it hit Raquel
with the rip tide from there to the matt and
that's how she got the win.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, yeah, man, I was actually really surprised about the
decision from this match because I really thought Raquel was
going to win. We both knew that Roxanne Perez was
going to interfere in the match and help Raquel to win,
but obviously didn't happen, and I was thought it was
just a bit weird because like, look, I mean, did
Real Ripley really needed to win that match tho? But
(07:17):
looking after what happened this past Monday on RAW, I
kind of see why they had Real Ripley to win.
But the biggest story is about Raquel Rodriguez. She really
just delivered in this match.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, she killed it. She really showed something in this
match that she hasn't really shown in other like singles
matches at least that she's had on the main roster,
and I will say, definitely, hands down, this was her
best singles match on the main roster. We had a
great similar match the night before on SmackDown with Naya
Jackson Tiffany Stratton and this one, I don't want to
say what's better, but also complemented it to But yeah,
(07:52):
we were both with the outcome. We both picked Raquel
to win, but that did not happen as Rea Ripley
picked up the win. And it would make more sense
why she one after what we saw on Raw Monday,
but we'll get into that later. But let's move on
to our next match. We had Sammy Zain, the hometown
hero in a sense, go one.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
On one yeah, second home, ye, go.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
One on one with the man who's been tormenting him
and trolling him like a damn the only person on
Facebook for the last six months, making his first match
appearance at a pl since WrestleMania last year, carrying motherfucking Cross.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And Carrie and Cross got a great positive reaction from
the crowd, and we made his way to the ring
surprisingly well, not surprised though, but surprised at the same
time because yeah, we are in the second home of
Sammy Zaine. But still though it was a great crowd
reaction from craning across when he made his ways to
the ring. That was cool. Even his wife noticed it
(08:49):
too and said us something about on social media thanking
them for it. But well, it was a decent match,
you know, delivered in a way that it should so.
But samise Ain won the match. Not surprised.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
And I was not surprised either. I thought Carry and
Kross put in a good performance and he did fine here,
but ultimately he was like talking down to Sammy's A
and talking shit to him, and as he had him
against the corner of the ring and then he sent
him to the other side of the ring. But then
samy'se a met him to the other side of the
ring with the haluva kick, knock this fucking head off,
and that was all she wrote. And Sammy's ain't picked
(09:29):
up the wing.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
But as we said in our last week's episode, in
our prediction show that this rivalry between them is not over.
And after what we saw this past money on law,
which we'll get into later, Yeah, this rival is definitely
not over between these two. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Those damn trolls on social media never go anywhere. So yeah,
of course this rivalry is not over, right, all right.
So in our next match, we had Jacob Batu getting
in where he fits in defending his United States Championship
against Solo Sokoa. But man, he never has a shortage
of tickets on him.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I actually enjoyed this match. Man. The chemistry between these
two was actually perfect. I loved how solasa CoA was
when he was getting the offense on Jacob Fatu. How
Sol would mock Jacoba to doing his little dance or whatever,
and you know, yeah, I thought that was funny. He
did that twice two occasions in that match, and I
(10:26):
just they worked well with each other. It was good.
I like the match, but all hell broke loose once Tonga.
Tonga got involved. Moon was the last time we saw him.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
The last time we saw him was at War Games.
Yeah War Games. Wow, they got injured, but now he's back.
He interfered at one point in the match, but that
was not enough for Solo to pick up the win.
As Jacob I Tuo eventually rebounded, he hit Solo with
the springboard moon Solo and it looked like he had
the match one. But then all of a sudden, someone
pulled him out of the ring, and that someone was Hicculeo,
(11:05):
making his debut in WWE, and he laid his ass
out on the knoun stable with the choke slam and
then threw him back into the ring, and that allowed
Solo to hit Jacob with some woman spike get the
win and win his very first singles title, that being
the United States title on the main roster.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Damn good for Okay, we could say damn all we want,
but hey man, this is a well deserved moment for him.
He needed this moment. Congratulations to Sola so Cola. This
is his first singles win, first singles titled win. Man.
He needed he needed it. You know, sometimes we had
our doubts about him pretty much after you know, pretty
(11:44):
much the implosion, after the Bloodline and its few with
Cody Rhoads on where does he fit in and what's
his future going to be like and whether this thing
is going to be rolling. But hey, I like this
for him, This is a This is a great moment
for him. He deserves it. I'm happy for him. But man,
we literally just saw like what people on social media
(12:06):
are saying, we see a bloodline three point zero.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, this ship feels never ending. Just when you think
they're gonna break up, just when you think everybody's gonna
go with their separate ways, a new person shows up. Yeah,
this is something we're gonna be doing for the next
thirty years, I think.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah. And it's just been announced that Roman Reigns is
expecting another child, So yeah, this thing is never dying.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
They had another child. They're not expecting one. They had
another child apparently.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh okay, I thought I was expecting one. Oh But anyway,
congratulations in though. But yeah, this thing is never ending
with this family.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, it's like it's like freaking Star Trek, Law and
Order and freaking Star Wars spin offs or whatever. Yeah,
this is never going away.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Nope. But anyway, congratulations to Solo so CoA. This is
a well deserved moment for him. And hey, can't wait
to see what's you know, looking forward, what's going to
be like for him? And yeah, The riv between him
and Jaco Fatua is not over though, but regardless, so
can't take away the moment from Solo. He deserves it.
(13:11):
New United States Champion.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
And Hiccoleo will now be going by the name of
Talatanga on the main roster. They didn't mention him by
name when he showed up during the match, but now
he will be going by the name of Talatanga and
now he's the newest member of Solo stable. And it's
funny Solo didn't get to take his complimentary picture with
Triple H after the match.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Oh yeah, I noticed, Sun.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah, it's messed up.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Hmm.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, but maybe we're digging too deeply into that. But
let's move on for our next match. We had the
finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament, as we
had Jake car Gil go one on one with.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Oscar digging the outfit from Jake car Gill X Men
version of literally the Storm X Man loving it. I
was like, bring me back in nineteen ninety four, loving
the whole outfit that she that she wore. It was
so bad ass though, but this was It was an
(14:09):
okay match, not better than the Raquel and Rear Ripley
match though, but he needed to go. Yeah you know,
but hey, you got it. You had to pull through
man and listen, we knew we kind of wanted to
see Oscar and EO Sky as a potential dream match
between them though, but hey, it wasn't meant to be.
We both picked j Car Gil win this match. She
(14:31):
is the new person. She needed this moment and she got.
She got the win. I love the uh the ending
of the match to counter.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Oh wow, empress impact and turned into the jaded Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
It was a great finish. Yeah, great way to counter,
a great way to finish. Looked like she kind of
looked like she almost screwed up on the pin Like
looked like she had Oscar's legs. Ye kind of slipped
off a little bit, kind of like it's like, oh
my gosh, you know, they're both ok here or whatever,
especially Jay. But hey, she still got the wind thow
got the pinfall victory. But she is our twenty twenty
(15:10):
five queen of the ring. And I love the segment
that she had after the match that a storm is
coming for summerslim. I love that.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, kind of like the twenty twelve Summer Slam where
like the perfect storm. How they marketed that maybe thing
with Jake Cargo just fingers crossed. They don't do the
same shit they did with her at WrestleMania with that
damn Weatherman for her entrance.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I was a little
bit weird. Huh.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah, it was very weird, but that's another story. So yes, JAKEE.
Cargill is your twenty twenty five Queen of the Ring winner.
The match itself, I'm not gonna call a masterpiece. I
can't really do that, if I'm being honest.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Pull through.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Yeah, but they at the end of the day, they
accomplished what they needed to, So Jade was the winner,
and as of now, Jade will be challenging Tiffany Stratton
for the women's title at SummerSlam.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
For now, you don't know, you still have Naomi look,
and you may never know what the hell is going
to happen between now and SummerSlam.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
So yeah, Naomi kind of teased the cash in last
week on SmackDown during the Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jack's match,
but it didn't happen. But who knows. She could steal
cash in between now and then. Anything is possible pretty much,
especially with evolution coming up.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, what do you thought about Jade's X Men's Storm
outfit comparison? What do you thought about that?
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Oh? It was dope. Yeah. People could say what they
want about Jade as far as like her inering work
and whatnot, but as far as her look and her
presence and all that, she nails it every time. If
you want to talk about somebody who looks the part,
she definitely looks the parting.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Man back to her aw Days man, she has the part.
She has it. That's the feature. The looks man, she
has it. And when I saw that outfit, I was
like damn, I was like Wow, nice X Men Storm.
I was like, nel di it.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Yes, Well, we'll see what happens In a couple of months.
We built a summer slow for her and Tiffany Stradden
when possibly Naomi getting involved in possibly Bianca getting involved too. Yeah,
only time will tell how this all plays out. But
Jade Car Gill did win, and who knows, we could
still maybe get Oscar and Eyo Sky at some point.
So we're on to the main event. For the very
(17:17):
last time, we had John Cena defending the w W
championship against his old school rival, probably the best rival
he's ever had in his entire career.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
CM Punk easily top three, one of his top three
Johnsena's rivalries. Easily. And I said this last week it's
edge Randy Orton CM Punk easily his top three best rivals.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Yes, and I will I will say I did enjoy
seem Punk coming out dressed like John Cena last week
on SmackDown and doing his little rapes. He had some
of the lines punk wife, Yeah, punk life. He had
the drug free.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
On his knuckles and that was dope. And yeah, he
had a.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Good lines he has. He had a couple of good lines,
like the lives were off.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
All his lines were dope, Kurt, especially at the end. Dude,
just it was just amazing. I just I loved it.
Like dude, I said to myself after Johns and his
pipe bomb, I was like, dude, punk has to come back.
He has he can't let the slide right. We didn't
see it on RAW. I was like, Okay, SmackDown's gonna
(18:22):
be in Saudi Arabia. Maybe he'll say something then. But
I wasn't expecting this. Wow, Yeah, it was funny. It
was entertaining. People were mixed about it, but I enjoyed it.
I gotta kick out of it, you know what. It's
just kind of man, if only this is no offense
to the foreign crowds. Man, if only if this was
in America, because I've just so you got to remember, Look,
(18:45):
they acted, They're gonna react differently, you know what I mean.
But if this segment was like back home at in
the States, I think the reaction would have been ten
times as more versus when they're in Saudi Arabia. That's
just my opinion, though, yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
It's possible. But and we did have the match between
Sena and punk It was fine. I'm not gonna say
it's their best match obviously, it just can't be that
way anymore consider where they're both at in their careers.
But it was still serviceable. They still did their thing,
and then it ultimately spiced up when the referee got
knocked down and as John Sena tried to call out
another referee, what did he get instead? Seth freaking Rollins
(19:21):
and his little briefcase and his crew of buddies.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
And looked like he was the attentions of cashing in.
He has bron breaker and Bronson Reid along with him,
and he goes in there to send them into attack Punk,
but Punk attacks both of them.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
And then yeah, that was one point, like Punk jumped
over the top rope onto them, but he kind of
like fell over them as a post on top of them. Yeah,
that was weird.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
That was weird. So he jumps over the rope. He
hits both of them, but Bronson Reid doesn't. He kind
of doesn't sell it, and he kind of just like, Okay,
I'm still got up and took out seeing I thought
that was just weird, man, just just a little just
a little box right there, man, I was I was weird.
But yeah, then they.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Both slammed Punk through the announced table that also like
didn't look the smoothest but whatever, shit happens. Oh and
then and then Riley just calling a referee down to
the ring so we can cast into his little briefcase
and who comes down the ring Charles Robertson giving us
flashbacks of Russell Media twenty four when he hauled as
to the ring, but only this time. When he made
(20:29):
it to the ring, he got knocked on his ass
by John Cena.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Hard and trust me, he's okay, ladies and gentlemen, He's alive.
He's alive. He said, he's alive. He's okay. But damn
that came out of nowhere, like running as fast as
he can to the ring and then like boom, you
just get hit by a clothesline by John Zena. Dude.
That that wow? Oh yeah it was crazy. Yeah, I was.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
That is gonna be like one of the major means
we see from years to come, Like I remember the
Titus O'Neil situation a few years ago when he slipped
when he ran to the ring. But yeah, I think
this is up there with that as like far as
one of those memorable moments from the Saudi shows.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
I just had you laugh and you're as obviously I
bet you were. My jaw drop, bro, Like if you
thought it was that bad, it got worse from there,
because yeah, John Ziada went to confront seth Rowlins on
what happened, and John goes for an f U and
(21:33):
then shows up. Did Pan show up before that?
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Or he was getting attacked by Bronson Reid and also
uh bron Breaker and then all of a sudden Penta
comes up. But Penta takes his damn time pent does
his little walk to the ring as he's coming out,
and then him and bron Breaker get into it in
the aisleway and then like bron Breaker gets him down,
and then Sammy's ain comes out and then him and
Sammy's Ain't start fighting. They start fighting like on the floor,
(22:00):
and then Penta jumps off of the stage onto both
of them. Match. You're why not down Sammy? But whatever,
he did it anyway, I guess, so yeah, that happens,
and then Bronson reads going for like a tsunami on
the Sena and then Punk knocks him down off the
top rope, and then Sena hits Bronson with an fu
and then Sena and Punk come face to face and
(22:22):
then out of nowhere, the two of them start hugging.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah, Punk, No, Punk was the one he was initiatd.
He was like he stands out his hand and then
that camera angle they hug each other, but that camera
angle John zena of his face just like an elimination
chamber earlier this past march had that look and then
he was gonna low blow him, but Sena no, but
(22:48):
Punk countered and he was about to go for gts
but then but then out of nowhere, Seth Rons comes
in and interferes.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Yeah, Rollin's hit Punk with the money in the bank briefcase,
and then he curb stopped him, and then Sena throws
Rolins out of the ring, but he does take advantage
of the damage that Rollins did as he covered Punk
for the one, the two, and the three to retain
his title.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Dude, that whole like sequence that we got, like damn
near lasts for like what five minutes. I was literally
getting like a relapse of Russell Manna forty me too.
How everybody was showing up, and I'm like, oh my god,
it's something gonna happen. You know, already really going to
change the title? Is seth gonna really gonna cash in?
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Like whoa?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
I'm like, whoa, what's going on? Just like one after another,
people are showing up. I was literally getting a PTSD
wrestle Mania forty flashback.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Yeah, But I think in reality that's probably what they
needed to do in this scenario to make it as
good as it was, because obviously Seene is kind of
like limited at this point in his career. He's even
admitted at himself mostiple times Punk and still but obviously
he's not the same as he once was before either,
So I think that was probably the best way of
like you know, getting out of this and like you know,
making it as entertaining as it was.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah, but uh yeah, I'm honestly I think it made
the match more exciting and more better.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
It did, Yeah, I did. That was the That was
the best part of the whole match. Was that last
five minutes. Yeah though, But yes, to no surprise, John
Cena did retain the title, So now it's going to
be John Cena and Cody wrote to SummerSlam, which marked
the fourth time in history that the same match that
main evented WrestleMania main event SummerSlam in the same year,
(24:32):
and fingers crossed they could redeem themselves from that WrestleMania
match because I'm not trying to see what WrestleMania.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
No interference, No Travis Scott or Cardi b either. Yeah.
I oh no, no, no, you don't have to worry
about that.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
No celebrities, No celebrities are part from ringside.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
And you know what, now that I think about it,
majority times, sometimes Kurt, the the Summer Slam rematch is
sometimes better than the wrestle Mania match, So let's hope
that this one will be better than the WrestleMania match.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Yeah, there's been plenty of them that have been better
than the match of WrestleMania. I could definitely attest to that.
From Undertaker and Edge from two thousand and eight, All
the Warrior and Rick Rude from nineteen eighty nine, Duncanes Edgend,
Christian and the Hardy's from two thousand, Bret Owen from
ninety four. Yeah, the list goes on and on.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
You thought, wait, you thought that one was better than WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Brett and Owen from SummerSlam. Yeah, in a way, in
a way, this.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Is the ending was just a bit often. It had
all those interferences and that that was well.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Another ending was great when Brett like had Owen hanging
from the cage and then he jumped.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Out oh yeah right right yeah, and then.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
The post match was like when everybody got involved. The
post matches like when all the whole family got involved
and it was like a whole delay. That sure was wild.
Yeah nineteen ninety four, right, Yeah, but anyway, Yeah, so
John Cena and Cody Roose is what we are getting
at SummerSlam and for our last time seeing Johnson and
CM Punk. Look, it's not the same as their met
(26:07):
Pass matches from like, you know, twenty eleven through twenty thirteen,
but hey, at least we got it one more time,
and it was fun while it basted. I have fun
with the building and stuff they did on TV and
the week's leading up to it, and the match ended
up turning out turning out fine for how it was,
so I have no complaints. We got it.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Me neither same. It was great to see those two
guys go in the ring with each other and for
one last time most likely, And I love how CM
punk wore his same ring attire that he wore back
at Money in the Bank of twenty eleven in Chicago,
So yeah, I mean, look, it wasn't going to be
the same. It's kind of like similar between John Cena
(26:44):
and rand new Orton that backlash, you know what I mean,
because they are older, especially John Cena. But at the
same time, it is great to see those two go
out in the ring for one final time with the
history that they had with each other.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
And that match too, they were relied on a bunch
of shit and add again and interference and all that
jazz to kind of you know, make up for the
fact that you know, Scena's just not there anymore physically.
And also I like the call back to the Money
in the Back match to where like John Cena does
the right thing, or like in the Money in the
Bank match, he like keeps Laura at just from ringing
the bell, he keeps la Yeah, yeah, keeps Laura just
(27:17):
from ringing the bell. But then Punk hits and went
the GPS and wins, and then my bad GTS and then.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
Yeah, well what Locse, you're just trying to go to Man, well.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Not Vegas from how you're describing the weather right now,
but yeah, freaking And then in this match, like Sina
like was about to use the belt but then he
decided not to at the last minute, and then Sina
got hit with the GTS by Punk, but this time
he did not get beat.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Well, yeah, I'll say overall, as far as Night of Champions,
it was a fine show. That's the best way I'll
describe it was a fine show. The Cody and rand
Ordan match was great. Also, the Rhea and Raquel match
was good, and everything else on the show I thought
was just fine or you know, good overall, but like
I said, overall, I'll save the show was fine. If
I had it rated from an eight to one F,
(28:10):
I'll give it a B minus C plus.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
B minus. So I'm giving this show in eight point
five out of ten.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Okay, that's fair. Yeah, I'd probably give it a little lower,
but that's your opinion.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Oh okay. You know, it just hit me when I
was watching that match. I was like, because I remember,
you know, ninety champions is like that an event where like, wait,
every match is supposed to be championship match. But I
was like, wait, it was only half of these matches
were just championship matches. It's mainly about your King and
Queen of the Dream Final. I was like, should they
just changed the name moving forward?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I think it's fine. Yeah, I don't think it's a
big deal.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah, I don't know. I was just I was just
it just hit. It just dawned on me because I
was I was looking at the card. I was like,
wait a minute, there was only there was only wait,
two title matches on the card. I was like, huh,
you know.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Yeah, they had two title matches, the two finals matches.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
I mean they were gonna have the Intercontinental title match,
but then Dominic got hurt.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
So yeah, I mean it was.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
What it was. At the end of the day, the
show was still fine. It was cool for what it was. Like,
Like I said, these shows are kind of like a
get in, get out type of vibe where they just
go in and do what they're supposed to do and get.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
The Yeah, it's funny how you say that, because I was,
I was very concerned about their safety, Kurve, with the
whole Shenatikin's going on in the Middle East right now. Yeah,
so I'm glad that they got in and got out
and they're back at home safely in the States.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
So yeah, so I'm glad that everything, you know, went
down without any issues. Like the biggest issue we heard
about the whole weekend was the whole thing with CM
Punk where like they caught that footage of him like
I guess, rushing a fan he was trying to get
a picture with him, or like security brushed the fan
away and then like I think he later found the kid.
He apologize, right, he apologized for that. You also apologize,
(30:08):
you know, for the past comments he made about Saudi
Arabia before yea, and yeah, everybody was making such a
big deal about this, about how Punk went over there
and how he's a hypocrite for going over there. They
were making this whole thing a big deal, like a
big fuss, But like, yo, is it really that serious?
What do you really give a damn that much?
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yeah, I mean, hey, he apologized, it is I mean,
And the fans responded, well, you know what I mean
when he when he said that, So it's not a
big deal all, you know, all water under the bridge
or whatever, you know what I mean. So hey, yeah,
I like to believe people can change.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
He seems like in some ways he has changed, and
even aj Stoles has endorsed him on that. So I mean, yeah,
it's a step in the right direction. And yeah, I'm
not gonna, you know, throw a hissy fit just because
see him Punk wrestled in Saudi Arabia. See you Punk
went back on something you said, Finn, I'm gonna throw
a fit about it? What fut it? You need to
(31:08):
chill the hell out and stop worrying so much about
what other people do if they're not like really physically,
your emotionally harming anybody. These people are knowing, these people
are probably the same people who fought in protest that
get disclaimers put up before rush hour comes on to
cable TV.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
I saw that that post that she that that just
bothers me. I God, almighty, just this generation and I
not only that, but with the OKC thunder celebration, it's like, dude,
they didn't even like you saw how much beer they left.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I did not see that. I didn't watch the breat
any of that.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Oh, I'll send it to you, because they left a
lot of beer unopened in that locker. Alex Caruso, who's
pretty much the oldest one on that team, had to
teach them on how to open a bottle champagne, because
you gotta remember that's like, that's a very young team. Yeah.
And then one of the players I forgot what's his name,
(32:10):
admittedly said like, hey, you know, I add a few
drinks in there. But he's like, I just I didn't
like to taste of it. I'm just gonna stick to
Shirley Temples. I was like, whoa, Hey.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Look, there's just varirogative. But people don't want to drink
if they don't like alcohol, that's the right not to
like not like it.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
I know, but it's like, bro, you just want to
get it whatever, and you're just like and a lot
of people are saying because like the you know, most
gen z rs now are like they're smoking more than drinking.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
From marijuana over alcohol. I love alcohol, but honestly, if
I had to pick one, I would always pick marijuana.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
It's just it's crazy how the tables have switched. I
don't know what's going to be like for next year.
Now now I'm now part of me is like, damn,
I kind of wish the patients the Pacers would have won.
But why oh shit, oh sorry, no.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Sorry, god, Oh my god, laughing so damn much. Right now,
people are gonna start thinking you're the pothead.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Hey look I felt bad when Tyree's got hurt.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
I did too. As much as I'm not a Pacers
fan by any stretch, I hate to see anybody get
injured to that degree. And yeah, I hope he gets
back on his speed sooner than later. Yeah, I hate
to see anybody get hurt, especially like at that point,
like in Game seven of the Finals, under those circumstances. Yeah,
that sucks.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
It just sucks that. Like, look, a lot of people
weren't really invested into this finals. I wasn't, you know,
and different if New York was in trust me, ratings wise,
I said, it's before New York. Okay, seeing that finals,
oh that would have did good ratings.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Yeah, I mean I watched Game seven because it's game
seven of the finals. I'm not gonna skip all of it.
So I did watch and it was a good game,
but yeah, I just didn't have that same feeling for it.
I'm sorry, I just didn't.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
I turned it off after after Tyree's got hurt. It
was kind of like, yeah, it was kind of like
a done deal after that, and then it was a blowout.
It was kind of like that Big.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
The Big Pacers hung in there. The Pacers still hung
in there up until the end. Yeah, like in the
fourth quarter, they still put up a fight, but obviously
they weren't gonna win. But is what it is. Yeah,
that was the finals. But there were some news regarding
my nick yesterday that they're gonna have a new coach
and that new coach.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Is going to be Mike Brown.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
I'm a little mixed about this.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
You kind of yeah, I see, I thought that you
guys are gonna hire Mike Malone Mike Malone would have
been the better, better choice for you guys, if I'm
being quite honest.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
I mean, look, Mike Brown is a Coach of the
Year winner. He was an assistant for those Warriors teams
that won titles and all that, and like he was
like Lebron's like first coach that like really got him
over the hump and like really got him and the
Cavaliers to be contenders like in those latter two thousands years.
But yeah, this is kind of like a whole scenario
for me where I'll believe it when I see it,
(35:06):
Like I need to see how this plays out first
before I can say whether this is a good or
bad move, like right now, like very up in the
air about it.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Same thing with the Lakers, with this whole this whole
contract thing with leb it's just been like mind boggling.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie Lebron. It becomes a harder
person to be for it. Sometimes as time goes on.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
It's just you talk about you ring culture, but you're saying, oh,
I want to win. I was like, well, what stop
this time out? Wait, what are you trying to say?
Speaker 1 (35:38):
I wrote his one I broke with his one lost
record in the finals. It's like, yo, you're of all
people saying.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
This, like, what's where are you coming from? The mathing mathing?
Like I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
This is why people prefer the original space Jam over
his Space Jam.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Of course, not all right, but let's get back in.
Regardless of the like of a person, everybody's preferred the
old space over the one.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Come on, all right, but right, but let's get back
into wrestling though. So yes, we do have Cody and
Sena at SummerSlam. But before we get to Summer Slam,
we do have next weekend two major shows, that being
Saturday Night's Main Event on Saturday and ww Second Evolution
on Sunday, both taking place from my old neck of
the woods of Atlanta, Georgia, the State Farm Arena.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
And a couple of matches well actually yeah, a couple
more matches have been added to the card for Saturday
Nights to main Event, and two matches has been added
for Evolution.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Yes, that's dive into some of that right now, as
it's passed Monday on raw Rieo Ripley opened the show
talking about how she hopes Judgment Day is behind her
for good wink wink. But and she was also talking
about the upcoming Evolution show, but then she was interrupted
by the woman who took the Women's World title from
her several months ago, that being EO Sky, And then
(36:55):
EO Sky came out talking about how you can have
the Evolution show without her and how Adam Pierce said
she's allowed to pick whoever she wants to defend the
title against on that show, and she picked Ria Ripley.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah, I see this match as a one last chance
opportunity for real Ripley.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Now I see it as being the main event. I
think likely it's going to be the main event of
the show. I agree, and considering the places of both
of them right now, I think this is where Ria
gets her title back. Okay, damn yeah, I want to
get into this actually. So I love the old guy,
the work she's been doing the last few months. But
(37:39):
you know what's funny as hell, she has not defended
the title or had a match at a pl since WrestleMania.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
And that's sad. How God Almighty, you really proved and
showed the whole world of how strong of a champion
you are at wressell Manian that was amazing I like,
I love that great moment for her, but yeah, that is.
It's not her fault, but it is. It's a booking
decision where Okay, you just had a great triple threat
(38:09):
match at russell Mania, but yet you haven't been booked
on the pls afterwards. That's weird.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
And hell, she's barely even been on Raw. The last
time she wrestled on Raw was on May twelfth, like
after Mother's Day.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah, it's so weird, like she came out of WrestleMania
with all that momentum and all that fanfare and then
capital lies on it at all.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
That You're right, So.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
That's why I think she drops the title back to
Ria here, And just in general, Ria is the biggest
star Rio overall, just has more momentum right now, and
it's clear Riea is more of a focus for them
than EO is. So I think this is where Ria
gets the built back. Yeah, but I think this match
would be safe for SummerSlam. I think it's like too
big of a match to have an evolution with only
(38:55):
a two week build, But who knows. Maybe they've both
gone it twice at SummerSlam two any things possible?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Maybe maybe, And.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Speaking of fumbled runs. In WW we did have the
New Day defending their World Tag Team titles against JD
McDonough and Finn Balor of the Judgment Day. And I
have to say, for a match with two heel teams
going against each other, this is a damn good match.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
It was, and thank god the right team won. This
is a good moment and it was the right decision
was made because JD McDonough and Finn Ballor are the
new World Tag Team champions.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Oh yeah, it was a great finish. I love that
part at the end when like JD does the moon
salt and then like Finn tagged the bin and then
did the COODI gras on Xavier and they won. They
got a great reaction. You know, the crowd was mainly
behind them through most of the match.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
If you noticed on who Finn ball and McDonough's, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Like they were both heel teams, but if any team
was the baby faced team, it was them. From the
crowd reaction.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Hey, look the one thing that not just me but
everybody else's beginning after this match, dude, this this heel
run from New Day and I've been saying this for months,
proved me rights, it wasn't working, So it never was.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
They're good at it, they've been good at like, you know,
doing their performance part of it, but they definitely fumbled
the ball with this compared to how hot that angle
was when they turned on Biggie, Like at the end
of last year, that was one of the best angles
of the whole year. People were praising the hell out
of that whole segment and you really thought it was
like the start of something big, and within two months
(40:37):
they just felt like just another heel tag team.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
I told you. And it was the stuff that they
were doing that just it kind of rubbed me off
the wrong way. Like I go back to that, to
the segment that they have with jay Uso that one
time where they both they start off raw by doing
a segment and then jay Uso comes in. You literally
just let one person and just tell you just you
(41:02):
pretty much. You got punked out by one person. You
left the ring. That was the moment I was like,
I cannot take you guys seriously. You're a heel. Both
you guys are heel, and you let one person punk
you guys out and then the whole locker room thing,
Oh well, how come nobody wants to let us sing.
You're not supposed to care. You're not supposed to care.
(41:24):
Who get like you're a heel? Okay, they kick you
out of the locker room. Okay, so what you're supposed
to defend on? Defend on what you did? Yeah we
turned on Bigie. Yeah so what and you're gonna kick
us out of the locker room. So what we get
our own room, they complain about, you're not supposed to
do that.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, they could afford to buy their own bus at
this point.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
Yeah that, Yes, all the merchandise money from when they
were a babyface, when we had that nasty looked like
cherios did not.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
It's probably lowly with like we're flying sugars and artificial flavors.
But yeah, that's another story. Yeah, just with the nut,
with the whole New d thing. Even winning the tag
team titles wasn't enough to save them. Yeah, just through
this whole thing, just really like fell off a cliff
real fast. And in hindsight, they probably were better off
breaking up, Like during that period when they were teasing
(42:21):
the dissension between them, when they were always losing matches
and getting into arguments, they were better off just like
you know, blowing that off and then like you know,
splitting up and having a feud. That what we got
from them ever since.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Then, it like they were literally trying to push them
so hard to the point where they put him on
the card of russell Mania when you should have put
the Street Profits their tag team championships on them. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
I would have been fine with them being on wrestle
Manny if they actually capitalized on their heel turn from
like December and like you know, actually like you know,
build something good with it from that point, but they didn't. Yeah,
from what they did with them from that point on, Yeah,
they didn't really have like a hot enough storyline. I
didn't even feel like they had enough momentum to be
on WrestleMania compared to the SmackDown TAC teams.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
But yeah, the whole, the whole entire time, even prior
to WrestleMania that I just I couldn't take these guys seriously.
And then when they were put on the card, I
was like, dude, you gotta be kidding me. And then
you saw that that that ladder match that Street Profits
put on on SmackDown prior to that, I was just oh, after,
but I was just like, you gotta be kidding me.
(43:27):
Could not take these guys seriously the whole entire time.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Yeah, And honestly, I don't know where they go from here.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
The only okay, the only scenario that the best scenario
that you could possibly do moving forward from this, Kurt,
is how okay you just lost the tag team titles.
You know, typically you could just start feud between each
(43:55):
other and kind of like blame each other. Well, you know,
you know your fall loss, and you just pretty much
start dissension between each other, just split split them up
pretty much. Yeah, what more can you do with them
as a tag team? Nothing? You can't. It was an
automatic fell from the get go.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
I guess we'll see what happens with them in the
coming months. But it is cool that, you know, JD
and Finn won the tag titles back. Hopefully they actually
defend the titles this time around as opposed to the
last title reign. And overall, this was a good ass match.
This is the best tag title match on Rod seen
since the one where JD and Finn lost the titles
to the war Raiders back in December, and now that
(44:37):
JD and Finn had the tag titles. Dominic is the
Intercontinental Champion, and as of now, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxane
Perez are the women's tag team champions. Judgment Day has
all the gold.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Yeah, and this whole thing is just Finn Bal is
just a little sneaky little intigator because he's kind of like, well,
you know, Live's not here. You know, He's pretty much
kind of like telling Dominans like, dude, you gotta like
make a decision and kind of, you know, just just
put Roxanne as the as the partner, as Raquel's partner
(45:11):
and all that. I was like, oh my god, they
vote from the gig.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Had that whole vote where like he had a pressure Dominic.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
Into right, all because of finnbalas fin balance instigator.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Man, I guess he doesn't like her Chicken contenders very
much from not wanting to voter room probably, And Raquel
wasn't happy about it either.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
She was reluctant, just like, dude, I don't wanna you
know what I mean. Even though Roxanne has been trying
to help Raquel out and all that though, but she's
still kind of like on the edge with her, you know.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Yeah, she was saying, you better carry your part. And
then Adam Pierce said that they can keep the titles
if they win a four way match at Evolution, where
it will be the two of them against a mystery
team from Raw, a mystery team from SmackDown, and a
mystery team from n X team. Oh wow, so they
got to that shit.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
Interesting all right? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (46:04):
Yeah, but I'm with lifts injury and I saw that
she had a shoulder surgery. I saw the picture of
it last week. She seemed to be in good spirits
despite everything. It's just another indication of how cursed those
women's tag team titles are. Yeah, everybody's always getting hurt
when somebody has the like always like a member of
the team gets hurt or the tag team walks out
(46:26):
or some shit. Yeah, those tag team titles are never stable.
No wear that shit homes all right, but yes we're
gonna get that four way Evolution and guess Roxane Perez
is now remember the Judgment Day and as of now
they have all the Gold Circle Evolution two thousand and three.
But we did have another good match on Row which
featured Russeph and Seamus their first match over a decade.
(46:49):
And yeah, this not just hard hitting physical. They beat
out of each other, and yeah, they got two commercial breaks. Yeah,
they got two damn commercial breaks.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
I know, I was cooking and it was still going on,
Like damn they they were both just like it was
like they literally just went fifteen rounds of boxing. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
It was rough, so Rocky and Apollo Creek right, speaking
of which, I think I should watch my Rocky movies
in the spirit of July fourth.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Yeah, I was watching Happy Gilmour the other day.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
You actually know what movie I was watching before we
started Horrible Bosses.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
Oh, I love that movie.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
Imagine they did a version of Horrible Bosses with Vince mcmaon,
Eric Bischoff and Paul Hayman.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
I know who Vince mcman.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
Yeah, and Paul Hayman will be calling Farrell's character for sure,
no questions asked.
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Oh yeah, Oh.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
That movie was mad funny. It's been minutes that I've
watched it.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
It was funny that I love the.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Oh wait, went Homeboy, Like film films, Jennifer Andiston like
sexually harassing him and like Jamie Fox is going outside
the office and then he's like, I'm gonna go on
my honeymoon and you're gonna pay for it and if
you was so much as look at my sexy little
ass again, I will have it locked the fuck up,
you crazy bitch. And then he's like, oh that feel
(48:24):
Goodah wow, motherfucker.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
Jones, No, of all the names, what's his name names?
Motherfucker Josaph was like what? Oh god?
Speaker 1 (48:45):
But anyway, Yeah, so Rucef and Seamus had a physical match.
It was one point where I thought it was gonna
end on a count out where like Russef like barely
made it back into the ringing time. Yeah, damn, we
love teasing those countouts they do.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
They've been ship, they've been doing a lot of that,
like especially with Bailey, you know, and.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
Oh yeah, definitely they did that a lot of their matches.
But yes, in this case, we actually did get a
winner as russep exposed a part of the turnbuck ord
Ram Shamous throw first into it, and then he hit
him with the match kick to finish him off and
get the win. But it's clear from how this match
ended that this feud is not over yet. No, but
(49:27):
good match. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more matches
between them in the coming weeks. Hopefully they can get
it on summer Slam somehow, And yeah, I would definitely
love to be there for that.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
That would be great, specially for a two night event.
I'll see why not.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
Yeah, they give fit fourteen match gives Oh shit, I'm
going to the first ever two nights SummerSlam.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
Right, congracts it be different?
Speaker 1 (49:51):
That is different on the anniversary to the day of
when I went to my only Summer Slam back in
ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
Crazy, Although I'm not going to get too fuck up
in tailgate like the people that night did. I heard
there was an issue with that summertime that people were
like tailgating all day outside and it was super hot.
So by the time they got to the show and
they got to their seats that were super tired, they
were like falling.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
This really damn and that human wasn't.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
I was full of good ass Summerslime. I had a
lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
I know, it's one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
It's a lot of fun there, especially at that finish
to the main event, even though I was mad at
it at the time. Yeah. A lot of good memories
of that summer, and unfortunately a lot of those good
memories from that summer central around a certain someone who
only got found guilty on two of the five charges
he had against them.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
Oh my god, yeah that wow.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
Yeahd was Diddy was white not that summer ninety seven. Yeah,
Daddy and the whole bad boy who. Yeah, they were
everywhere during that time.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
Yeah, I know, but but I'm just talking about what
happened was yesterday. Yes, wow.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
I mean he's still like they're going to go to
prison for a minute, and plus they're not letting him
out on bail. But yeah, that's like the biggest.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
But the fact that he wasn't guilty on the on
the sex trafficking, that's the one that's just like, what
the hell are you guys doing that? Right there?
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Was like, that's what the fucking dude from Subway went
to prison for. The Jerry Dude.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Yeah, yeah, he's guilty on the other things though, but
when it came to the sex trafficking, that was the
one where I was just like, what was the way
that was hold up? Just wait just a damn minute.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Like this is like the verdict at the end of
New Jack City.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Oh, if you know, it's been funny if kick Cutty
would have been out there, Oh the old.
Speaker 1 (51:45):
Man with the garden, your services are cut and.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
Hell, somebody posted a picture of that on on Twitter,
saying that this is kick Cutty outside the courtroom.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
Yeah, that's just funny yourself, wow, Yo. But I mean
it's not really a laughing matter in general. But like,
regardless of any of the verdicts or whatnot, Diddy's reputation
and just Diddy as a person is just toxic tainted,
and chances are no one's ever gonna want to fuck
with him again, even though we got off on those
like three charges, Like, chances are he's cooked publicly, yeah, professionally,
(52:22):
whatever it is. Yeah, he's fucked. And he's still gonna
go to prison. People acting like he's gonna get out free.
He's still likely gonna go to prison for a minute.
Maybe not for as long as you thought he would,
but he's still gonna be gone, probably for at least
a decade.
Speaker 2 (52:36):
Yeah. They haven't announced like how long it is going
to be put away though, but we'll find out.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Yeah. But I mean, I'm not saying that it's not
a big deal and it's not important, but just things
like that in many ways feel like a big distraction
from like other real problems that m Yeah, but it
is what it is. But yeah, let's get into what
they happened at the rest of Raw as. We had
a big segment involving world headlyweight champion Gunther talking about
(53:01):
how that three minute like promo video they did about
like the Goldberg career highlights that pretty much sums up
how long our match is gonna be?
Speaker 2 (53:10):
Right, He's probably right, He's probably right.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
Guther's becoming one of my favorite promos. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 2 (53:19):
Hey, he is my favorite heel.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Yeah, his promos are great. Yeah, he's talking about how
he's gonna bully Goldberg and people are talking about how
you lost it and how you don't have it anymore
and I'm gonna prove it. Saturday Nights made a event
that you never had it in the first place. Oh shit.
(53:41):
And then he asks like what's next for him? He's
asking like what's next for him? And then all of
a sudden, seth Rolins comes out with the briefcase.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
And then go a new design case, get it upgraded.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I did see that, And then Guth's like asking him, like, yo,
you seem so happy for somebody who flew halfway across
the world and accomplished absolutely nothing.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
No, i'de Guther is on a roll right now.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Boy, I'm would have fit in perfectly as a character
on Martin. I can see like him and Martin Pain
going back and forth. God all right, but anyway enough
for that. Yeah, Like Rolins is talking about I did
accomplish something I screwed see him Punk, and then he's
(54:27):
talking about how he has the briefcase all that good stuff,
and then to no surprise, see him Punk comes out.
Him and Robin start brawling. They brought over ringside, and
then Robins eventually runs away into the crowd, and then
punking like going through, bump into each other briefly, and
then Punk shoves down Gunther and sells him to stay
out of his business. And then Rolins think he's gotten
away from Punk. He's like laughing and mocking Punk, and
(54:50):
then all of a sudden La Knight appears right behind him,
and then l A Knight attacks him starts beating him up.
They start fighting into like the popcorn area all that
like inside the concourse, and then Rollins goes to drinks
and drink into his face and then runs away. And
it's been announced since then that we are going to
get l A. Knight and Exeth Rollins at Saturday Night's
main events.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
Interesting and and it was funny because right after that,
La Knight and Seeing Punk had a little talk with
each other pretty much like hey, listen, like you know,
pretty much telling La Knight like, look, I want seth
Rawlans to just you know, just stay out of my
business or whatever, you know what I mean. And you
know La Knight's kindly look like you want to talk
(55:33):
about who's in the line. Look, I got my mattres Fins,
so I am the line. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
Yes, So from what I'm seeing right now for Summer Slam,
I think I smell a fatal four.
Speaker 2 (55:45):
Way for for the world heavyweight title.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Yeah, going through Yeah and l A. Knight okay, okay
on that segment on Monday with all four of them
kind of in a way interacting each other. Yeah, Also
La Knight and Punk getting into a backstage I think
they're gonna probably go in that direction. I think next
Saturday at Saturday Nights Land Events, they're gonna do like
a hot, crazy ass angle to build towards it.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
I'm all for it.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Yeah, let's do it. But under no circumstances should Goldberg
be defeating Guntha for that title.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Hell no, this world will crumb. Well, Judgment Day will
happen if Goldberg won. Yeah, Skynet Kurt January sixth, Right, Yeah,
(56:43):
you know we're not going to see that rehash of
Goldberg and Kevin Owens from Fast Slane several years ago.
My god, no, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
I don't ever want to see that again, and I
don't think we're going to see that. I think this
four way is the direction to go in, especially because
of the fact that I have to be honest, I'm
getting a little tired of this Punk and Rolin's view.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
Yeah, you know why. You know why because they haven't Okay, look,
I get it. They had two matches with each other,
but it was on raw. They haven't had like a
match on a p l E. I think that what
makes it different, and it's key. It kept dragging and dragging.
We've been seeing this pretty much since what was it
twenty twenty four? Was that their first time they had
(57:27):
their segment with each other was twenty twenty four, right, the.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
First segment they had with each other like after Punk
came back, was like the end of twenty twenty three,
like in December, and then obviously Punk got hurt, but
then they were like kind of still take shots at
each other. And then Rolins was the referee for the
Punk and back and Tire match SummerSlam, and then Rolins
went away for a while, and then Rolins came back
and Punk went away for a while. But then ever since,
(57:49):
like Survivor series, Like Survivor series, it's kind of felt
like never ending between these two.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Yeah, and it's kind of like it's like it's never ending,
you guys. Look, they had their first match with each
other on the first episode of Raw on Netflix. They
had that steel cage match, both for great, great both
for great matches, both for great matches, but it's like
it wasn't over. It's still ongoing, and you kind of
(58:16):
ask yourself, Okay, when is this gonna end? Look, this
is nowhere near the feud between seeing Punk and Drew McIntyre. No,
it's not. So I don't know when it's gonna end.
I don't know what kind of conclusion they're gonna have,
but they they kind of they need to end this
(58:36):
man because it's kind of starting to get pretty uh stale,
stale and just just replicated, not replicated, but just repetition, repetitive,
repetitive a little bit, you know.
Speaker 1 (58:51):
So it's the same ship every week. Rolin's attacks Punk
one week, Punk attacks Rolins the next week.
Speaker 2 (58:57):
I was, you know what I was gonna say before
you mentioned the fatal four way I was gonna say,
just do Punk versus Rawlins one on one at SummerSlam.
But since you mentioned the fatal four way, I mean,
I'm not I'm okay with that too, But yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Think that's the most interesting thing they can do out
of this whole scenario. Goo Through. I don't think it's
been in a four way as far as like its
title rain before, so I like, switch up. You have
the issues with Punkin Rollins, they could play into that match,
and I'll Punkin going Through have issues from that brief,
you know, confrontation they had, and then Punkin La Night
got into it and La Knight has beef with Rollins
and Rollins is cruel, and then we'll get l A
(59:35):
Knight in a marquee title matchic Summer Slam because people
were upset that he didn't win money in the bank.
But yo, he's gonna be in a main event match
at SummerSlam. That's even better.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
So yeah, I hope they go in that direction. If
they end up doing punkin Rollins in a singles match
of Summer Slam, I don't hate that either, but I
have to be honest, like, yeah, this fewd is definitely
like not as interesting as it was seven months ago.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
Yeah, but we'll see what happens and where they do it.
Saturday Nights made Event, but also on Raw we had
Lyra and Bareley go back and forth and get into
this big ass argument backstage until Adam Pearce had to
break it up, and then he announced the two of
them would face each other in a Number one Contenders
match later in the night. And they had that match
and they ended up pinning each other at the same time.
Both of their shoulders were down and the referee counted one, two, three,
(01:00:24):
and the referee ruled the match a draw.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Yeah, and it wasn't over after that. Africaus it kept
brawling after the match, onto the fans.
Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
Well through the fans, not onto them.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
They the fans.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
They've been fighting like on the fans it would have
been a loss. It was like the United situation in
WrestleMania with Stone Cold when he ran ran it's like
the railing.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Hey, first of all, she was okay. I looked at
that footage again when I watched, I was like, nah,
faked it, faked it talking getting a little lawsuit, lass suit,
my ass.
Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
No bigger face than Lebron and he flaps. Oh anyway, okay,
So the match ended on a draw. They fought into
the audience. So this is basically all setting up a
three way involving the two of them and Becky possibly
an evolution. But I have to say, like, if they're
going to do this at evolution, this feels very.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Very very rushed, rushed. Wait till SummerSlam please?
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Yeah. I think having evolution like at this time of
the year, like so close to SummerSlam, like you know,
in between like two other pls. I think it was
just bad timing. They should have probably said it for
like later in the year.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Thank you. So what do we all? Right? So we
have okay, so of course we have Saturday Nights Made
event coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
We have Evolution the same weekend, same place, yep. And
then Summer Slam is just three weeks after that, yep.
Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
But I want to see what is coming up after? Oh,
we have Clash from Paris, which is in August thirty first.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Yes, and that is going to be where the winner
of the Battle Royal at Evolution gets a shot at
the women's title.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Yeah. And after that then we have Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Well that sounds dope. The Survivor Series in your precious
San Diego November twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Nine, Yeah, on my birthday, and and I would be
the last PL for twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
And then they're gonna have John Zena's like retirement match,
like on a Saturday Nights Made event in Boston, like
in yeah, mid December.
Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
It's a bummer they don't. They're not having a Bad
Blood event this year.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Man, Ah, it's not that serious.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
I mean, I like the name, you know what I mean.
And they did it perfectly for last year for having it,
you know, hell to sellout was perfect.
Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
So yeah, and I was also the last PL where
Samantha Urban announced. Oh right, right, So we get probably
getting that three way between the three of them, probably
within the next month or so. But they could still
keep this story going going in the summer stime. Obviously
it's not gonna end there. It's probably just gonna be
like another like disputed finish or something.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
But yeah, it's so funny.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Ever since Bailey came back, Lyra doesn't feel as like
likable or has have as much momentum as she did before,
like before she lost.
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
I don't want to say as likable because like her.
Like look, she's doing the same thing what Bailey's doing.
She wants the title, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
But she screwed Bailey over last before she interfered in
the match.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
All right, right, that's what makes the triple threat interesting.
So I like the idea, you know what I mean.
I just don't. I hope they don't book it for Evolution.
I just I hope they don't do it because that
would be rush. It wouldn't feel as special. You don't
have like a deep builded storyline between the three.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Yeah, now that I think about it, Like now, I
see happening now where they have a rematch between Bailey
and Lyra at Evolution, where they finally decide it's going
to be the winner and challenge Becky at SummerSlam, and
then something will happen there again and then they'll officially
make the match for SummerSlam. Yes, I messed with that,
So yeah, with regards, I mean, I still think they
(01:04:01):
could bounce back from what happened this week. I mean
this week was probably one of the weaker segments and
like you know, stories they've done as far as this
whole huge gone. But I think they could definitely bounce
back from it. But we'll see how they do it
next week. But in the main event of Raw, we
did have a great tag team match which involved bron
Breaker and Bronson read taking on Sammy Zan and Penza
and Yo. This match was dope, especially like that one
(01:04:22):
part where Pena and uh Sammy zines like did the
Penter walk in the ring right before they both jumped
over onto Bronson and bron Breaker like at the same
time it was stipe.
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
Well, let's not forget sam Zane got attacked earlier by
Carry and Cross.
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
Oh yes he did, but he still made it to
the match, Yeah, still came through. Yeah. But then the
match goes on and then like Breaker hits some Sammy
with a Frankensteiner from the top rope, and then Bronson
reads about to do the tsunami but he misses. The
match progresses, but then Sammy at one point hits Bronson
(01:04:56):
read oppressively with the freaking zuom plex.
Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
Yeah, he tried to hit it on him a few
times but it wasn't happening. But then eventually he got
him up for it. You know, that was a great spot.
But then immediately after he got speared by bron Breaker
and that was all she wrote. Bronson Red and bron
Breaker won the match. But then after the match, they
continue their attack and Bronson Reid was going to do
the tsunami to Sammy, but then all of a sudden,
(01:05:24):
jay USO's music hits. So then jay Uso comes out
hits bron Breaker with the chair multiple times that he
has in his hand, and then he throws the chair
into Bronson Reed's head and that you know, clears the
way of both of them, and then he stands tall
with Pensa and Sammy to end the show. And from
what I'm seeing here, I smell a tag team match
at SummerSlam where it's Bronson Red and bron Breaker against
(01:05:47):
jay Uso and the returning Roman Reigns.
Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
Oh, because we've been hearing about Roman Reigns is potentially
going to be coming back pretty soon, very soon.
Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
So yeah, it's and some Jay Usso's involved with like
you know, bron Breaker, Rollins and Bronson. Reid is always
like you know, interacting with them nowadays, and since he's
lost the title, doesn't look like he's getting it back
anytime soon. Like, I think this is like the biggest
thing he can do honestly right now. And he could
team with Sammy or Penser, but like it's kind of
already been done, it would be predictable. So I feel
(01:06:20):
like they can definitely build to him having a partner
that he chooses and that partner ends up being Roman.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Okay, And obviously Roman.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Still has a score to settle with bron Breaker because
of the attack the night after WrestleMania, not to mention Hayman's.
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
He has, he has a score to settle with everybody,
not just bron Breaker, but also Seth Rowlands. So yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
So I feel like they could definitely do that for
summery Slamm's attack team match. It'll be a big attraction, definitely. Yeah.
So that's how Raw and the good show overall, the
wrestling more than anything, Garry the whole show.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Oh yeah. Usually it's like the segment sometimes though, but
this is one of those shows where the Wrestling Care.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Yeah, definitely. And speaking of Roman Reigns, it came out
this week that Roman Reigns and also Cody Rhodes are
gonna be in the new Street Fighter movie.
Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Yes, oh shit. Have you ever watched the original from
ninety was it ninety four theaters? Yeah? Of course I did, Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
but I can't wait for this one man. Yeah, and
they're playing both both are playing the right characters in
their roles.
Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
Yeah, from the pictures I saw, Yeah, it looks like
they both fit those characters that are gonna play.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
So yeah, this is a game I grew up playing.
Oh this is this is gonna be great. I can't
wait for this.
Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Yeah. My older brother loves street Fighter. When we were kids,
used to love Street Fighter with Mortal Kombat. Yeah, we
went to go see the movie. Yeah, the day after
Christmas at the theaters. It bums me out that the
Doodoho played the villain and Doodoo played Gomez Adams and
Adams Family movies. He actually died right after this came out.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Yeah, yeah, and I was Yeah, I heard about that. Yeah,
he was a good actor. I read the story about that.
Man read a story about that that is sad man man.
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Yeah. John Claude Van Dam was like all drugged out
apparently on set when they were doing that movie.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Yeah, yeah, huh.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
I remember liking it back then. But people don't really
have the best things to say about that original one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
No, let's just hope this one will be better. And
it's funny speaking of cause you mentioned Mortal Kombat. This
isn't the new Moral Kombat movie come out this month?
Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
If it does, I'm going to see it because this
year is the thirty year anniversary when I saw the
original one in theaters in this very very city.
Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
Yeah, and I heard I heard this second one is
way better now, so clutch.
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
Yeah, we got a bunch of movies coming out this
month that John Cena and oh yeah John Cena and
I'm interested. But movie came out this week. I saw it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
I was in my room because I have a firestick,
and I was like, what is this?
Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Was it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
Head of State? Is that what the movie is called?
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Yeah? When I heard Head of State, I thought about
the Chris Rock and Bernie Matc movies.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Yeah. I saw the little trailer for it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
I was like, this is it's interesting?
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
And they check this one out. We have that. Jurassic
World just came out of this past was yesterday. Yeah,
A couple of my friends told me it was pretty good.
Couple my friends told me it was pretty good. We
have Fantastic Four coming out. I am looking forward to
that movie. That's the one movie I'm looking forward to most.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
We got we got Superman, Superma. Also, we got Happy
Gilmore too, and that drops.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
At the end of the morning. Yes, a lot of
good movies coming out this month.
Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
Yeah, I gotta get back to the movies, bro. The
last movie I saw in theaters was The New Captain America,
the Anthony mackew one.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Did you like that one? Because I haven't watched it yet.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
That was fine? Yeah, it was cool for it. It
was Honestly. I went to go see that movie one
of them days with Sizzla and Kicky Palmer, like at
that same theater actually the week before that movie theater
I told you about. That's across the street from the
Manhattan Center where they used to do Rack. Yeah theater,
and I will be honest, one of them days I
enjoyed more.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Okay, you know what, when I look back at all
these movies that are coming out, there's another movie that
was the f one racing movie with Brad pay I've
been hearing a lot of good things about that movie.
I've been interested to watch it. But overall, just this year,
this year, a lot of it's been a good movie year,
good year for movies.
Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
I still need to see Sinners.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
You need to watch that movie, Kurt, That right there
so far is the movie of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
Yeah, I gotta go see that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Yes, I love that movie.
Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
But one movie I don't need to watch any more
of is Straw.
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Is what that movie? Oh, Tyler Perry. I mean I
watched it. It's just it's the message behind it. I
mean it was kind of sad when I at towards
the end. So but you only watched like thirty minutes
of it though, But yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
All I could take. I'll be honest, that's all I
could take.
Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
Yeah, it's not for everybody, though, but it was just
the message behind it, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
The fibe I got for a minute. It was like
a Tyler Perry version of set it off.
Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Well, yeah, I mean because she's doing something for what
for her daughter?
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Yeah, probably not as good, likely not as good, but
I see the consensus of it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Kind of in a way though, But I think, like
I said, it's the how the way it ended, and
then the message behind that is a little more deeper
than that. So but like I said, is it for
everybody though? But but yeah, but just overall this year,
It's been a long time since I said this, but
so far this year has been a very good year
for movies.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
Yeah, probably said that before COVID you couldn't say that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Like last year for movies, like I remember like being
really good, where like I was going to the movies
all the time. It was like, you know, twenty nineteen
I was.
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
About to say the same thing. Twenty nineteen had was
a good year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
Yeah, Avengers Endgame, Toy Story four. Even though I don't
think it was necessary that they made it, I still
