Backlash and also what else is going on in WW,
we had an unfortunate tragedy in the resting community this
past Sunday as Saboo, one of the most legendary performers
in the history of pro wrestling, who's worked in multiple
different promotions than around Forever, passed away.

Age sixty.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, sixty years old was his past.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
No, I didn't hear anything about that yet, But I
just remember this dude specifically from ECW, like in that
ninety seventh period when he had that few with TAZ
and he was teaming up with RVD and also Bill
off Fonzo was his manager.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, this dude was crazy. Son.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Some of the things I would see him do, like
going through tables, jumping off the top rope, jumping off chairs,
and putting people through tables.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
You all, this dude was wild. He fit in with
that ECW vibe perfectly.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
When you think of ECW right and you had a
mount Rushmore, sab Boo is clearly, clearly the first person
you think of. He's one of the best, one of
the greatest, one of the legends of ECW. Who is
why ECW was so great during that time, and just
the work craft that he put in the ring says nonetheless,

And you know he he had his time in WW.
I remember he had that little, short, little feud with
John C. And I remember he had that mash of
John C. And he still does some good stunts, you know,
during that time. But but yeah, man, like his time
in ECW match he's just a legend, just a legend.

And yeah he was robbed for decades. He didn't just
work in ECW. He also worked in WCW briefly. Actually
remember seeing him briefing WCW like in ninety five. It
didn't last long, but he was there. And then ECW
obviously is like where he really became famous and became popular.

There was like one match he's probably like most known for. It.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It was a Bob Wyer match he had with Terry
Funk in ninety seven.

Oh wow.

Yeah, that's considered the most violent match in the history
of BCW.

And that's saying a lot of all the ships you
saw there.

Yeah. Bro. Obviously, I think.

The thing he's probably most remembered for in ECW was
that legend w few that he had with Taz that
was like.

Teased for years, like for years.

Like they were kind of kept apart and like they
didn't ever like have a match, and so they finally
faced each other for the first time at the first
ECW pay per view barely legal in April of ninety seven.
And yeah, that was one of the biggest rivalries and
like one of the biggest and best stories ECW ever told,
and then led to that specific match.

I remember that there was a video that they had
a first interaction. It went black and then the lights
swam back on and Sabu appears and they had that
stare down and the crowd went wild.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, it was a legendary few esprobably the most defining
feud of that whole company was that feud along But
I guess Tommy Junior and Raven you could probably throw
that one in there too. But yeah, Sabo, that was
a very legendary rivalry and Taz even set himself that
was the few that put.

Him on the map.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, you talked about that because he he he recorded himself,
you know, I'm getting his condolence to Saboo and he
talked about how, you know, being in that feud with
him helped him in his career long term, you know
what I mean moving forward, And not only taz Man,
but Sabo worked very very well of RVD as well.

Oh yeah, he did.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Definitely they were naming teammates for a while in ECW.
That's kind of like my first introduction to them. But yeah,
they also did too. I remember even in w W
he had that great match of Ymistereo at the second
One Night Stand that had like noves Oh.

Yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
WW wasn't the right place for him, you could definitely tell,
especially with the way they treated that whole ECW re launch. Yeah,
it wasn't like really a good fit for him. Yeah,
he had issues working with Test, like Test would like
refuse to like really sell moves for him and like,
well kick him really hard with the big boot.

I am. I was. It's funny, man, because literally right
before we just gone to air, I was just reading
like a short little interview from him about how Tests
would refuse to sell the CM punk.

Yeah that's too Yeah I was.

I was. I was reading that, man. I was like, oh,
not reading, I was watching it. Sorry, but yeah, that's
that's that's crazy. Wow.

And then there was that one infamous skit where like
MIT's mcmad was in the backstage and first one as
the Taliban.

Where is originally Saba? Where is he from originally?

I'm honestly not sure. I just know he was brought
into never said. I don't think they did, but I
remember he was like brought into the business by the
original Sheik.

Actually, they did a Dark Side of the Ring episode
about the original sheet that just dropped on Tuesday, and
Sabu was interviewed for it.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Oh yeah, and he even had it.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Like his last match a few weeks ago. Apparently and
he was Yeah, you did.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
And some people are are blaming the the whoever whatever,
you know, independent promoter, We're blaming them for having him
the rustle whatever they're saying that could have been the
cause of it. We don't know what was the cause
of him passing away.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I mean we were drugs like going into that match
too to help him get through it.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Man.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, it's unfortunate. Man, sixty years old, that still is
a relatively young age to die.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Even though we've seen it like happen a lot with wrestlers,
it's still sad to see someone die at bad age.
And yeah, he definitely put his body through a lot,
like the style he wrestled and the kind of yeah
chances he took. Yeah, him and Nick Foley definitely, like
I could say, definitely two of the godfathers of haar
core wrestling and also Terry Funk you can throw in
there too.

Absolutely.

So Resting Piece of Saboo definitely built a legacy that
will never be forgotten off off multiple different promotions, multiple
different decades. And yeah, that dude is definitely one of
the icons in this industry that deserves to be celebrated.

Condoles to him. Rest in peace always, and he had
one of the most badass nicknames, the genocidal title suicidal Saboo.

Yeah, that basically summed Hm up perfectly. I like the
tribute that ce him Punk did for him on Raw Monday.
Also the touching tribute tag did to him last night
on AW tags like they'll be about.

left his mark and definitely won't be forgotten by your sider.

Raw they Michael Cole they talked about Saboo and he
mentioned Taz as well.

Yeah, his friend Taz. Yeah, he did say that. I

So yeah, so rest in peace of Saboo and yes,
she will not be forgotten my dude ever.

Have to say it was a good show. It wasn't
really anything.

I had a lot of high expectations for going into it.
But overall, sometimes when you don't have that high expectations
for a show, you end up not disappointed, which I
was not disappointed in this one, you know what.

I was satisfied. I was very satisfied. I just I
wanted to get good. Most of the results I said
were true pretty much all of them, but I wanted
to be left entered and just satisfied. And I was
actually from the first match the last match. We'll get

have nothing negative to say about this event.

In the event opened with a fatal full away for
the United States title with the champion, Jacob Batu defending
against Drew McIntire, Damian Priest, and La Knights.

Yeah, this is a good, good match to start start
off your night. And this was a very good match.
Load of close falls, looked like you know, one person
had you know, an advantage of the other, but it
really got heated towards the end of the match.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah, there was one point where they were outside, like
and everybody was like brawling outside the ring, and Damian
Priest hit Drew McIntyre with the South of Heaven like
through a table like you know, like in the like
in the front of the isle area like where they
do the production setup. And apparently Drew McIntyre like hit
his head and like missed the table and got hurt.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Oh, I didn't I kind of missed that part of it.
I saw when he did that, and you know, it's
funny how it all started because Drew McIntire looked like
he had to win and then just like always and
you know pretty much how their feud started. Drew McIntyre
pretty much distracts the referee from making the pinfall and
then they take it outside of the ring. That's how

the whole thing started from that moment. From that moment,
I even tweeted it. I even said to myself, these
two don't care about the US title. They're hatred for
each other is still there. They hate each other more
than having them being called US champion. So you know
that this feud is continuing and it's gonna get you know,

it's going to escalate even further after this.

Yeah, this feud is definitely far from over.

And as the throw of them were down, Ellie and
I was about to do the top rope elbow dropped
to Jacob bat through the announced table, but then Solo
so Colda showed up and pulled him off the table.
And then as Ellie Night was about to confront Solo,
all of a sudden, the dude like we're standing next
to him in the audience, and that dude turned out

to be the debutming Jeff Cobb.

Yeah, Jeff Cobb, and this dude's big man, big presence,
and he pretty much he took out La Night and
even Jacob Faughtu. You know, he wakes up and he's
just like, what in the world's going on here?

Whoa?

He had that weird look on his face and then
does his his patentent Moon Salt and he gets the
cover and he retains his title as I picked, but
I wasn't expecting this to be the ending. Even after
the match was over, he still was like, what is
going on here? Who is this guy? And uh yeah,

This ultimately led to Jacob Batu hitting the springboard Moon
Salts onto Ellie Knight to win and retain the title.
But yes, he did look very confused to see Jeff
cop there to help him. So I feel like this
is kind of like the similar situation when The Rock
added Mark him into the Nation of Domination and didn't
tell for Roup about it, and for Roop looked all confused.

So this kind of like.

Scenario right now where Solo added Jef Cob to the
new Badline or whatever the hell they're called now.

But in a way it makes sense because Tomolow is.

and Tom a Tonga is now injured, he's gonna be
out for a while, so they need to have.

getting a lot of a lot of appreciation, a lot
of support from the fans that night.

Even though he's technically a heel and has like heel tendencies,
he still gets cheered like a babyface.

He's good in the ring, he has that presence, he
has that intimidating look. He's good on the mic, he
has dope catchphrases. Yet I do is definitely gonna be
a big deal. Well, he basically already is a big deal.
But by next year I definitely see him like in
the main event of PLS and like in the title picture.

Definitely, And that's why I picked him to win the
US title back at wressel Mania. You know what I mean,
because his time is now and this is their first
stepping stone to do it, win a singles title. Man,
he's on a great ride right now. So keep that
ship sailing.

Oh yeah, definitely. And I see him in solo eventually
splitting up. That's inevitable. And I see them eventually facing
each other with SummerSlam.

The first time this title was defended out of ple,
we had Libral Balkira defending her title against Becky Lynch
with her fiance the front roward ringside, who everybody on
social media was giving.

A hard time too.

He was really there.

Yeah, Libra's fiance was there, Like he's like a regular
looking guy with like glasses, and everyone.

Was like saying, how the fuck did a guy like
that get a girl like her?

If that dude can get her or anything's possible, how
could you be with him?

Speaker 1 (19:12):
How could you be with him? You know the same
old oh man.

But other than that, this is a very entertaining match
as I said it needed to be a good match,
and it was.

And honestly he was probably argue you the best match
in the whole show, m.

I agree.

Yeah. There were a lot of close near falls.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
There was even one point where Becky broke Livera's nose, yeah,
which is very vicious. But ultimately, out of nowhere, Liveral
hit Becky with a roll up, got her in a
roll up pitting position, and Pinder everytain the title.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Those two are doing a couple of roll ups, back
and forth, roll ups for one for for a moment
and then yeah, Lyler got the last roll up and
retained her title though, but right after that Becky just
went out and went and attacked her and wasn't happy
about the about the outcome. Kurt I said in our
last episode that I was I picked her the retainer

title man, and I was right. She needed to She
needed to win that match to prove herself as a
good champion, you know what I mean. So win the match,
but the feud still continues, which is still going on,
which I was right, but she needed to win that match.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, Becky after the match attacked Lyral, which I expected
to happen because yeah, she got pitting out of nowhere.
So yeah, right after the bell red, she like attacked
her put her in there. This Arma into the officials
officially got a rough of her and apparently Lyra had
to go to the hospital because of her broken nose.

Mm hmm. But even though Lyral won.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
The match, here, Becky is beating her for that title
the next time they face each other.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Yeah, but as for that, for that moment, I picked
her to win. She needed to win, she needed that
was all. That was a whole point. Put on a
good match though, but also retain a toddle proved herself
that you are a worthy a worthy champion against one
of the best, Becky Lynch. So I I I was
very happy with the result that I saw.

Delivered therese segments on TV had been great. This match

This is a pretty good match. Another decent match, and

One point where Pens I think in a Mexican destroyer're
on to Dominic on the apron.

And there was one point where Finn Babble kind of hesitated.

why bother. I just I felt like this company has

I think they've gotten better recently, Like the last few
episodes of dynam might have been pretty good.

kind of make you shake your head a little bit.

ring work and match quality. That's where he thinks that
AW superior to w W.

And look, AW has some great talents, some incredible talent.
They put on incredible matches that I like a lot.
But there is a difference in many ways between AW
and WWE, and I could definitely see why, as a
fan of both, why people were like w W moore
right now, because it's not just about the wrestling. It's
just not not just about the match quality. It's about
the stories and characters that go along with it.

gets you know, attacked in prison and this story comes out.

So yeah, it could be anything, man, But just the
only time, hotel. This is just a whole soap opera
for the whole world to sit through. It doesn't feel
like it's ending anytime soon. Oh no, yeah, but it
