Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo yo, what is going on?
Speaker 2 (00:02):
My fellow wrestling fans. Welcome to a brand new week,
and welcome to a brand new edition of that we
like to call the Clash of Champions, where we dive
had first into all the personality, storylines, controversies and everything
in between at center around this world we know we
love as professional wrestling, and I'm your host, Devigan. You
(00:22):
believe in conscious Kurt aka the Professor aka kerk GPT
in the flesh as always and my co host needs
no introduction, but the hell with it. He's about to
give y'all one anyway.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
That's right, ladies and gentlemen. This is his tag team partner,
Johnathan Randall, the adventurer himself at your guys' service, And
we've been gone for a while for you know, it's
been about a week that we're back. We're back in action,
ladies and gentlemen, back in living color to give you
the wrestling news you need to hear. And we're coming
off the heels off of a Backlash event. Kurt, how
(00:54):
you been, man? I know it's what's the vibel like
in New York right now? Man, you guys are one
win away from the East turned the conference Final. I
thought you guys are gonna pull it off the other
night though, but is it nix and six? Now?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
It better be nix and six because after what happened
last night, they.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Better not go home on Friday and lose the way
they did last night.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
That's for damn sure. Jason Tatum, Yeah, I'm not really.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Stressing because it kind of goes like this in most
of the series, where a team's up three to one
and then the team that they're going against wins the.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Game five that they have at home, but then they
go on to.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Lose Game six. So I'm not waiting in that sense.
But at the same time, it would have been nice
if we closed them out last night, But fingers crossed
it happens tomorrow night in the Garden, and yeah, New
York is gonna be wild and fucking crazy if that
does happen.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Not imagine like, just what's it light over there right now?
I know it's crazy, and you know, after what I
saw over the past couple of games, it's like, damn,
you know what, I'm really picking these guys guys to
make it to the finals now, Like I really see
a New York Pacers Conference final, just like in the nineties,
you know what I mean. But I really have the
(02:05):
Knicks and the Timberwolves in the finals and this will
be great. Like I'm legit, like happy for you guys,
for you and your fan Baseman, because you guys, you
guys have been through a lot, you know what I mean.
And like New York is a is that's a Knicks town,
you know what I mean. Like it's it's always house
divided when it comes to other sports when it comes
like the baseball, hockey, and football, right, but when it
(02:27):
comes to basketball, no matter what part of New York
you're at, no matter if you're in Brooklyn or Queens
or even if you're all the way and freaking you know, Buffalo,
New York, everybody loves the Knicks.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, just about.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I was actually outside of the garden before the game
on Saturday afternoon, and yeah, it was lit out there, bro,
everybody was there.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I wasn't gonna watch the game.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
There because it was two damn packed and you could
probably be able to hear it. So I just wanted
to check it out briefly. But yeah, it was pandemoaning
them out there. I just wish I can go out
there tomorrow night for the Game six where they hopefully
close it out.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
But can say, how are looking now? I'm gonna have
plenty of more chances to go check out.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Some games out there, I hope. So, Man, this is
this is you know, this is good for the league.
It really is, man, because like I said, you guys
have been through a lot. Man through too much, and
you guys have a legit good team, you know what
I mean, and from the ground up, you know. So
I hope you guys pull it off tomorrow. You know, potentially,
you know, we will get that Nixon Pacers Conference Final,
(03:26):
but I'm picking you guys to make it to the
NBA Finals, man, And that.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Would be great for the league, will be really great.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Oh that would make you so happy if that does happen.
But I'm just really focused on beating the Celtics first.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah, the dude, the Laker fans a favorite.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Please beat the first.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Just do a favorite for me.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
That's all I asked for.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, I'm just focused on like just beating them, closing
up them out tomorrow night, and then finally going to
the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the
year two.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Time we went to a.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Conference finals and guess which team he played in the
conference finals that year.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
The same team that I just mentioned, the Indiana Pacers,
just so. The only difference was they had Reggie Miller
and that Mark Jackson.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Jackson Yeah, yeah, that was a staged team that like
Pacers team from like that late nineties early two thousands
period was damn good. But I'm just hoping that this
conference finals with the Knicks and Pacers turns out a
lot like the nineteen ninety four Eastern Conference Finals where
the Knicks win.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
And go through the finals.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
You know what, you make me want to let's you
know what if the Knicks win tomorrow, right, I want
to watch that Spike Lee Versus the World documentary that
thirty for thirty they did. If you remember that one.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
The Reggie Miller Versus the Knicks documentary.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Of course, Yeah, that was that was a very that
was I think that was one of the very first
thirty four thirties that I watched.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah I said that, Yeah, that was one of the
early ones.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, that was one of my favorite ones. Though. I
was just like wow that happened. I was like wow.
But it was a very interesting one. I loved it. Though,
But if that happens, man, I'm gonna rewatch that that
documentary because that was really good.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah wwunc into the future with that whole Jalen Brunson
and Tristan Thompson will I'm sorry Tyer calibert my bad
Tyer caliberation.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
They had on SmackDown last summer in Madison Square.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Garden and the behold later they're going to play in
the conference finals.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Let's just hope. Just please beat beat Boston first. Man,
just beat them first. I mean, no offense. Look, look,
it's sad that you knowson Jason Tatum's hurt, you know
he's injured. But at the same time, it's like, you
guys have opportunity to finish them off, you know what
I mean. I know they still got Jaylen Brown, but
it's like, dude, they they're miss Tatum, you know what
(05:48):
I mean. There should be no reason for you guys
not to close this out tomorrow. You can't let them
push you guys to Game seven that I will be
completely shocked if that happened.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, I don't even want to put that into the universe.
The Nike's Tomorrow Night, that is all I'm sticking by
period sat here. I wait to be in the city
tomorrow night and celebrate, and considering that, I don't think
SmackDown is going to be that much of a watchable
show compared to that tomorrow night.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah, I've been getting a lot of some complaints on
social media lately, you know, just saying how the products
gained a little boring. I've been hearing complaints about that.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Rust have been pretty good more or less, but Spack, Yeah,
it has been a little boring. I'm not gonna lie m.
But before we get into.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Backlash and also what else is going on in WW,
we had an unfortunate tragedy in the resting community this
past Sunday as Saboo, one of the most legendary performers
in the history of pro wrestling, who's worked in multiple
different promotions than around Forever, passed away.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Age sixty.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, sixty years old was his past.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
No, I didn't hear anything about that yet, But I
just remember this dude specifically from ECW, like in that
ninety seventh period when he had that few with TAZ
and he was teaming up with RVD and also Bill
off Fonzo was his manager.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, this dude was crazy. Son.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Some of the things I would see him do, like
going through tables, jumping off the top rope, jumping off chairs,
and putting people through tables.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
You all, this dude was wild. He fit in with
that ECW vibe perfectly.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
When you think of ECW right and you had a
mount Rushmore, sab Boo is clearly, clearly the first person
you think of. He's one of the best, one of
the greatest, one of the legends of ECW. Who is
why ECW was so great during that time, and just
the work craft that he put in the ring says nonetheless,
(07:48):
And you know he he had his time in WW.
I remember he had that little, short, little feud with
John C. And I remember he had that mash of
John C. And he still does some good stunts, you know,
during that time. But but yeah, man, like his time
in ECW match he's just a legend, just a legend.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
And yeah he was robbed for decades. He didn't just
work in ECW. He also worked in WCW briefly. Actually
remember seeing him briefing WCW like in ninety five. It
didn't last long, but he was there. And then ECW
obviously is like where he really became famous and became popular.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
There was like one match he's probably like most known for. It.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
It was a Bob Wyer match he had with Terry
Funk in ninety seven.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, that's considered the most violent match in the history
of BCW.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
And that's saying a lot of all the ships you
saw there.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah. Bro. Obviously, I think.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
The thing he's probably most remembered for in ECW was
that legend w few that he had with Taz that
was like.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Teased for years, like for years.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Like they were kind of kept apart and like they
didn't ever like have a match, and so they finally
faced each other for the first time at the first
ECW pay per view barely legal in April of ninety seven.
And yeah, that was one of the biggest rivalries and
like one of the biggest and best stories ECW ever told,
and then led to that specific match.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
I remember that there was a video that they had
a first interaction. It went black and then the lights
swam back on and Sabu appears and they had that
stare down and the crowd went wild.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, it was a legendary few esprobably the most defining
feud of that whole company was that feud along But
I guess Tommy Junior and Raven you could probably throw
that one in there too. But yeah, Sabo, that was
a very legendary rivalry and Taz even set himself that
was the few that put.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Him on the map.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, you talked about that because he he he recorded himself,
you know, I'm getting his condolence to Saboo and he
talked about how, you know, being in that feud with
him helped him in his career long term, you know
what I mean moving forward, And not only taz Man,
but Sabo worked very very well of RVD as well.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Oh yeah, he did.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Definitely they were naming teammates for a while in ECW.
That's kind of like my first introduction to them. But yeah,
they also did too. I remember even in w W
he had that great match of Ymistereo at the second
One Night Stand that had like noves Oh.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
WW wasn't the right place for him, you could definitely tell,
especially with the way they treated that whole ECW re launch. Yeah,
it wasn't like really a good fit for him. Yeah,
he had issues working with Test, like Test would like
refuse to like really sell moves for him and like,
well kick him really hard with the big boot.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I am. I was. It's funny, man, because literally right
before we just gone to air, I was just reading
like a short little interview from him about how Tests
would refuse to sell the CM punk.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah that's too Yeah I was.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
I was. I was reading that, man. I was like, oh,
not reading, I was watching it. Sorry, but yeah, that's
that's that's crazy. Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Yeah, there's what it is.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
And then there was that one infamous skit where like
MIT's mcmad was in the backstage and first one as
the Taliban.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Like somebody from Saudi Arabia or some ship like that. Yeah, ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Where is originally Saba? Where is he from originally?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'm honestly not sure. I just know he was brought
into never said. I don't think they did, but I
remember he was like brought into the business by the
original Sheik.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Actually, they did a Dark Side of the Ring episode
about the original sheet that just dropped on Tuesday, and
Sabu was interviewed for it.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Oh yeah, and he even had it.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Like his last match a few weeks ago. Apparently and
he was Yeah, you did.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
And some people are are blaming the the whoever whatever,
you know, independent promoter, We're blaming them for having him
the rustle whatever they're saying that could have been the
cause of it. We don't know what was the cause
of him passing away.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
I mean we were drugs like going into that match
too to help him get through it.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Man.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, it's unfortunate. Man, sixty years old, that still is
a relatively young age to die.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Even though we've seen it like happen a lot with wrestlers,
it's still sad to see someone die at bad age.
And yeah, he definitely put his body through a lot,
like the style he wrestled and the kind of yeah
chances he took. Yeah, him and Nick Foley definitely, like
I could say, definitely two of the godfathers of haar
core wrestling and also Terry Funk you can throw in
there too.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
So Resting Piece of Saboo definitely built a legacy that
will never be forgotten off off multiple different promotions, multiple
different decades. And yeah, that dude is definitely one of
the icons in this industry that deserves to be celebrated.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Condoles to him. Rest in peace always, and he had
one of the most badass nicknames, the genocidal title suicidal Saboo.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, that basically summed Hm up perfectly. I like the
tribute that ce him Punk did for him on Raw Monday.
Also the touching tribute tag did to him last night
on AW tags like they'll be about.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
To cry when he was doing it. Yeah, you definitely
left his mark and definitely won't be forgotten by your sider.
I like how on.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Raw they Michael Cole they talked about Saboo and he
mentioned Taz as well.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, his friend Taz. Yeah, he did say that. I
like that.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
That was nice.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
So yeah, so rest in peace of Saboo and yes,
she will not be forgotten my dude ever.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
All Right, but we did.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Have backlashes past Saturday taking place from Saint Louis, Missouri,
and I.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Have to say it was a good show. It wasn't
really anything.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I had a lot of high expectations for going into it.
But overall, sometimes when you don't have that high expectations
for a show, you end up not disappointed, which I
was not disappointed in this one, you know what.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I was satisfied. I was very satisfied. I just I
wanted to get good. Most of the results I said
were true pretty much all of them, but I wanted
to be left entered and just satisfied. And I was
actually from the first match the last match. We'll get
(14:07):
into it later, but overall I liked to nothing. I
have nothing negative to say about this event.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
In the event opened with a fatal full away for
the United States title with the champion, Jacob Batu defending
against Drew McIntire, Damian Priest, and La Knights.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Yeah, this is a good, good match to start start
off your night. And this was a very good match.
Load of close falls, looked like you know, one person
had you know, an advantage of the other, but it
really got heated towards the end of the match.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah, there was one point where they were outside, like
and everybody was like brawling outside the ring, and Damian
Priest hit Drew McIntyre with the South of Heaven like
through a table like you know, like in the like
in the front of the isle area like where they
do the production setup. And apparently Drew McIntyre like hit
his head and like missed the table and got hurt.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Oh, I didn't I kind of missed that part of it.
I saw when he did that, and you know, it's
funny how it all started because Drew McIntire looked like
he had to win and then just like always and
you know pretty much how their feud started. Drew McIntyre
pretty much distracts the referee from making the pinfall and
then they take it outside of the ring. That's how
(15:25):
the whole thing started from that moment. From that moment,
I even tweeted it. I even said to myself, these
two don't care about the US title. They're hatred for
each other is still there. They hate each other more
than having them being called US champion. So you know
that this feud is continuing and it's gonna get you know,
(15:46):
it's going to escalate even further after this.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, this feud is definitely far from over.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
And as the throw of them were down, Ellie and
I was about to do the top rope elbow dropped
to Jacob bat through the announced table, but then Solo
so Colda showed up and pulled him off the table.
And then as Ellie Night was about to confront Solo,
all of a sudden, the dude like we're standing next
to him in the audience, and that dude turned out
(16:11):
to be the debutming Jeff Cobb.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Yeah, Jeff Cobb, and this dude's big man, big presence,
and he pretty much he took out La Night and
even Jacob Faughtu. You know, he wakes up and he's
just like, what in the world's going on here?
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Whoa?
Speaker 3 (16:31):
He had that weird look on his face and then
does his his patentent Moon Salt and he gets the
cover and he retains his title as I picked, but
I wasn't expecting this to be the ending. Even after
the match was over, he still was like, what is
going on here? Who is this guy? And uh yeah,
(16:51):
yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
This ultimately led to Jacob Batu hitting the springboard Moon
Salts onto Ellie Knight to win and retain the title.
But yes, he did look very confused to see Jeff
cop there to help him. So I feel like this
is kind of like the similar situation when The Rock
added Mark him into the Nation of Domination and didn't
tell for Roup about it, and for Roop looked all confused.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So this kind of like.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Scenario right now where Solo added Jef Cob to the
new Badline or whatever the hell they're called now.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
But in a way it makes sense because Tomolow is.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Out, he's gonna probably still be out for a little longer,
and Tom a Tonga is now injured, he's gonna be
out for a while, so they need to have.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Like more people in the group to kind of keep
the group going, as it looks like they want to
kind of still stretch this whole thing out.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Yeah, we'll see what's gonna happen from him, man, b
But hey, let's not play Jacob too. Man was just
getting a lot of a lot of appreciation, a lot
of support from the fans that night.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Man, Yeah, a lot of love from the audience.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Even though he's technically a heel and has like heel tendencies,
he still gets cheered like a babyface.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah, he has that package.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Man.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
He's good in the ring, he has that presence, he
has that intimidating look. He's good on the mic, he
has dope catchphrases. Yet I do is definitely gonna be
a big deal. Well, he basically already is a big deal.
But by next year I definitely see him like in
the main event of PLS and like in the title picture.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Definitely, And that's why I picked him to win the
US title back at wressel Mania. You know what I mean,
because his time is now and this is their first
stepping stone to do it, win a singles title. Man,
he's on a great ride right now. So keep that
ship sailing.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Oh yeah, definitely. And I see him in solo eventually
splitting up. That's inevitable. And I see them eventually facing
each other with SummerSlam.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
I could see that all right.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
So on to our next match for the winning t
Intercontinental title.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
The first time this title was defended out of ple,
we had Libral Balkira defending her title against Becky Lynch
with her fiance the front roward ringside, who everybody on
social media was giving.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
A hard time too.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
He was really there.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, Libra's fiance was there, Like he's like a regular
looking guy with like glasses, and everyone.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Was like saying, how the fuck did a guy like
that get a girl like her?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
If that dude can get her or anything's possible, how
could you be with him?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
How could you be with him? You know the same
old oh man.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
But other than that, this is a very entertaining match
as I said it needed to be a good match,
and it was.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
And honestly he was probably argue you the best match
in the whole show, m.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Yeah. There were a lot of close near falls.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
There was even one point where Becky broke Livera's nose, yeah,
which is very vicious. But ultimately, out of nowhere, Liveral
hit Becky with a roll up, got her in a
roll up pitting position, and Pinder everytain the title.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Those two are doing a couple of roll ups, back
and forth, roll ups for one for for a moment
and then yeah, Lyler got the last roll up and
retained her title though, but right after that Becky just
went out and went and attacked her and wasn't happy
about the about the outcome. Kurt I said in our
last episode that I was I picked her the retainer
(20:06):
title man, and I was right. She needed to She
needed to win that match to prove herself as a
good champion, you know what I mean. So win the match,
but the feud still continues, which is still going on,
which I was right, but she needed to win that match.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, Becky after the match attacked Lyral, which I expected
to happen because yeah, she got pitting out of nowhere.
So yeah, right after the bell red, she like attacked
her put her in there. This Arma into the officials
officially got a rough of her and apparently Lyra had
to go to the hospital because of her broken nose.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Mm hmm. But even though Lyral won.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
The match, here, Becky is beating her for that title
the next time they face each other.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Yeah, but as for that, for that moment, I picked
her to win. She needed to win, she needed that
was all. That was a whole point. Put on a
good match though, but also retain a toddle proved herself
that you are a worthy a worthy champion against one
of the best, Becky Lynch. So I I I was
very happy with the result that I saw.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yeah, so far this feud is.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Delivered therese segments on TV had been great. This match
was great. Alcol was a little surprising, but I'm.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Not mad at it.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
And yo, I hope this few continues for the whole summer. Honestly,
it has that much potential to be great.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
And this is good for the title. It was a
good way for the title as well, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
So it's good for the title. It's good for Lyra.
Becky's doing great heel work so far. So yeah, this
is all they win for everybody. Yeah, all right, so
we move on to our next match for the Innercontinental Championship.
We have Dominic, Mysterial and his words, the greatest Intercoontinental
champion of all time, defending his title against Penta. Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
This is a pretty good match. Another decent match, and
there was.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
One point where Pens I think in a Mexican destroyer're
on to Dominic on the apron.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, ooh that was rough, very rough.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Yeah, but the judgment Da Shenanigans played into this match,
which we all expected to.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
And there was one point where Finn Babble kind of hesitated.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
He could have like hit Pens as he was being
held up, but like he stopped for a second and
got a chair instead, and I ended up like backfiring
on him and Pencer like you know, rebounded from it.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
That could have almost screwed Dominic out of the match.
And then Pencer was about to have the match won, but.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
El Glande Americano showed up out of nowhere and hit
him with the head but with the piece of metal
in his masks not allowed Dominic to take advantage and
hit Pencer with the frog splash and retain his title
to no surprise.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Yep, and you know we picked Dominant to win. You know,
he you know pretty much like, dude, this whole event
was like, if you're a new champion going into this event,
you retain your title, you know what I mean. And
you're coming off from that momentum you picked up from WrestleMania,
so you keep that ship sailing. And he had Dominate
(22:55):
needed to win that match, you know, to get more heat,
and yeah, it was this is a crazy, yeah, crazy
way to end that match. You're having El Grande Americano
interfere in the match.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
So yeah, so now Penta has like multiple different people
to feud with. Now he's feuding with Judgment Day. Now
he's feuding with El Grande and Jack Gable. So yeah,
this dude is like all over the place right now.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
But people are kind of upset that he lost.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
People are kind of thinking that he's getting buried because
of like the losses he's been eating up lately.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
But yo, he's still.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
He's still a multiple feuds right now.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
He's fine, bro, He's gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Great draw man He's a draw. He's one of the
best draws that you know since this year started, man,
one of the best newcomers along with bron Breaker and
Jacob Fatou Man. And look, Penta is going to mark
my words right on this date, May fourteenth, twenty twenty five.
May fifteenth, May fifteenth, twenty twenty five. Sorry, Penta is
(23:56):
gonna win a singles title. Man, he will, He'll get
it done, trust me, it will happen.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Maybe it will be the speed title that Grandi Americano
currently holds.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
That of all days.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Oh my god, wow, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
It's crazy. But yeah, you didn't expect Dominate to lose
the title here. He just wanted it WrestleMania. He has
too much momentum right now and Penta doesn't needed per se.
Pent is fine without a title for the time being,
the first time being.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
He'll get it. Don't worry, He'll get it and it
will be a great moment. Yes.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Well, then on to our next match. We had the
match that I was personally looking forward to the most.
We had Gunther going one on one with Pat McAfee.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
This one really just blew my expectations man out of
the way. When and the ending Wow.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Yeah, it was an meditating match. I mean, some people
complain that it maybe went on too long, but I
still he enjoyed it. I thought I thought it was
exactly what.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
It needed to be.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Booth pretty much roughed up McAfee for the early part
of it, which we all expected. He hit him with
those chops, he like knocked him down. He hit him
with a power bomb. He was basically basically toy him
with them, and on commentarying, Michael Cole was basically saying, like, yo,
just finish him already. If you think you have him down,
finish him already. Stop messing around.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
And then even Jarifrey nounce tables Oh oh my god, Yeah, one.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Pointed together from the announceable, but like you're run on
Pat McAfee and kind of encourage him, and then Grooth
ultimately try to pull Michael Cole into the ring and
attempted to power bomb him, and so Pat McAfee broke
it up. And there was even one point where Gloth
was gonna suplex McAfee into the ring and then Michael
Cole pulled down Gunter's Lake for McAfee to pit him,
but it didn't work out.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yeah, he actually won that way.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
But yeah, I'm telling you right now, Kurt. When I
saw that, I thought it was it. I thought, oh
my god, McAfee's gonna win like this to help Michael Cole.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
This is how it's gonna end.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
But it didn't.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
So, but it was really surprised me at what happened afterwards,
because guoter did that before me get to.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
The end of the match. There was a certain point
where even Gloomter got trapped in the.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Sleeper by McAfee, but obviously that was not going to
get him for the match, and then gloom Founded eventually
trapped McAfee in the sleeper.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
McAfee had nowhere to go, and the referee.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Saw that McAfee was out and stopped the match, and
to no surprise, going through picked up the win.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah, So that that was I was about to talk about,
because he had McAfee and that been on a choke
hold for a while and it looked like he was
going to pass out the first time, and he even
broke out of it, and that's what I was like
surprised about. And then just the tenacity for McAfee to
not to you know, to submit that early, but then
(26:49):
it took him the second time. He knew it was
over from there though. But the one thing I do
appreciate was McAfee's guts in his match. He literally heeped,
he held in there, man. He took it to him.
He took it to Goother, even Goomter, you know, despite
of what happened, you know, during the build up, Goother
kind of showed a little sign of respect towards Pat
(27:11):
McAfee at the end of the match.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Yeah, he gave basically Pat McAfee a nine before he
left the ring. And yeah, we've seen whom to do
this before, but it was kind of a surprise that
he did it to Pat McAfee in this scenario.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
But is what it is.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Gunter picked up the win. A from what we saw
on Raw Monday, this feud is basically.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Over pretty much. Yeah, kind of, Pat.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
McAfee, maybe it took you a week off to kind
of like sell the attack or sell like the you know,
the aftermath of this match, but whatever, it is what
it is. And then there was no reference of anything
between Cole and McAfee against Guom through that they didn't
you know, interact with each other.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Or anything like that. On Raw Monday. So yeah, it
was basically a one off, yeah, and it needed to be.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
And as far as Gunther showing the sign of respect,
it doesn't surprise me, to be honest with you, because
when you look at Gunther, right, Gunther is the ultimate
true competitor, no matter if you have beef with him
or not, if you take it to him, if you
compete at the level that he likes, he will see
that as respect. And I remember, you know, during his
(28:15):
run as intercom Neal champion, you know, he talked about
how I will win in the ring and all that stuff,
and that just shows the competitiveness about him, about his nature.
So it didn't surprise me when you showed that sign
of respect towards towards Pat McAfee.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yeah, but still the best few in the company and
still the fun match, regardless of what you've got about
them doing it on paper.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
I knew it was going to deliver in one way
or another.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
And it did and going Thro got the win and
he is onto bigger and better things, which we'll get
into in a few minutes. And then now we had
the main event for what they build is the very
last time ever we had John Cena versus Randy Orton
for the w W Championship and Randy Orton's hometown of
Saint Louis.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
And John this is one of the all time greatest
rivalries of w W. E you know what I mean,
you think of you know Hogan, Savage Rock Austin, John
Zena and Randy Orton is on that list. And they
had a lot of classic wrestling matches. Uh, this one
wasn't really like similar to the past matches classics that
(29:23):
they had, but you know it was it was okay
for what it was. It's just the ending kind of
just like it was a bit odd how the way
it ended.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah, there were a bunch of different ref bumps throughout it.
There was even one point where Randy Orden hit seen
it with like an fu through the announced table or
try to do it through the announced table and the
table didn't break.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
And then randywards another table and did it to him
again through it old.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
I think Randy Goldon had the attitude saying like, yo,
I'm gonna put you to a table one way or
another tonight.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, and yeah, there was a lot of ref bumps.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
There were a lot of them doing doing the thin
to like close near falls like a referee being down.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
And then yeah, there was this one point where the
referee was.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Down and Randy Jorden had seen it down with the
RKO and he was trying to cover Sena and then
Nick all this came out to try to like help
the referee up the referee that was down, and all
the other officials came out to try to do the same,
and like they went, you know, trying to do the
pin and trying to get another referee to come out
to do the pin. And Randy Orden took it his
frustrations out and the only way he knew how with
(30:27):
r KOs to everybody in sight.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Yeah, and did all of that and then all and
then he shut with no refereeing site. He was going
to do the final explanation point to John zen He
was gonna punt Zena in the head and then out
of nowhere this is where and it got weird as
Rand Jorton's about the punt John Zena, Our Truth shows
(30:54):
up and tries to stop Randy Jorton from from injuring
John Zena, and then Morton, It's just like, what are
you doing? Get out of here? Get out of here
any rkzo our truth, and then out of no where,
John zena low blows Randy Orton and just like that
Russell Mania, he hits just like he he defeated Cody
(31:15):
Roads by hitting him with the belt. He does the
same thing that Randy Orton hits him with the belt,
and then the first referee that was knocked out crawls
into the ring for the pin cover, and then John
zen is still your ww champion.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Look, I think it.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Was as good of a match as John Cena and
Randy Orton could have in twenty twenty five, because obviously
Johnsen is very limited with what he can do now
and Randy Orton has a certain style.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
That he wrestled. So but what they did here it was.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
The best possible match that they could have had this
point in the careers of both of them.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
So I like that was it the best match on
the show?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
No?
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Was it the best match between the two of them? Also?
Speaker 2 (31:53):
No, But like I said, in the way that it
needed to and the fancy like they enjoyed it, So
in that sense.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
That yeah, and I'm not you know, hating on the match.
It was just like it was just weird seeing Our
Truth to show up of all people, and I was like, huh,
that happened to me. It was just weird.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
But he who would you have rather had show up
Our Truth or Travis Scott.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Again definitely not not Travis Scott. Hell no no. And
we thought I thought that was bad. No, wow, But
it was weird.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Like you know, when the show kind of went off
the air, they showed like Seena kind of like leaving
the ring, and like as he was about to leave,
you could tell that there was like a look on
his face where he kind of.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
He was just like a little emotion and he was
kind of like, you know, taking him with.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
The crowd was cheering at him because they were channing
thank you Sina, thank you Sina, because it looks like
it's gonna be the last time he ever performed in
Saint Louis, So yeah, it kind of looked like maybe
he had a moment of regret for turning here in
the first place.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
And against yeah, you know, not only performing in front
of them, but like possibly like your last time against
ran Yorton, and all those emotions were just in his head.
Like I was just like I'll say to myself, like
this whole decision to turn Xena Heill to me, it's
(33:17):
not two things. Number one is not really living up
to the expectations that I that I wanted, and number two,
it's like this is really not working out as I
thought it will be. I feel like that look on
his face kind of like, you know, I don't think
(33:39):
it was the right idea for me to turn Heel,
you know, or.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
So we thought, because after the show was over, at
the press conference following backlash, you did a very healish
thing as Our Truth was trying to talk to John
Cena like as he was at the podium and you,
Sina said, if you said one more thing to me,
I'm gonna have to respond, and then Our Truth ended
up saying something else to him that's seen it didn't
like and hadn't seen him respond.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
By doing an FU to Our.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Truth to the table and then he said no further
questions before he walked away.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
That is crazy that I've never seen anything like that,
and that was weird. And then like the next day
they book pretty much. They booked the match between the
two for the for the title on a Saturday Nights
main event on May twenty fifth.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
No, they haven't booked it yet.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
It's it's probably going to happen within the next month
or so, but it hasn't been made official yet. There's
only two matches official for Saturday Nights made event so far.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
Yeah, I could have swore they like booked that match.
I don't know, but yeah, you're right. There are two
matches though for Saturday Night. Saturday Night's main event though.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, with this John scene and Our Truth thing, you
kind of figured they were going to have like one
like kind of matched against each other before scene the
retires and I could see by people who upset that
he got him got himself from involved in the.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Ending of the match and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
But at the end of the day, we all knew
Senior was gonna win anyway, and seen in Our Truth
as a Saturday Night's main event match, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Who cares, It's fine?
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Yeah, But yes, that was your back Lash twenty twenty five.
Good show, but definitely a step down from the last
two Backlashes we saw in twenty twenty three and twenty
twenty four. But for the fine show, still an enjoyable show.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
In hell, that Senior.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Randy Ordon main event was a hell of a lot
better than that Senior and Cody Maine event we got
at WrestleMania.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
I agree, I I absolutely agree. The crowd was into
it more importantly though, and uh it just overall just
match quality was better.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah, match quality was much better.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Like I said, it wasn't the best match ever by
any stretch, but for John Senior and Randy Ordon in
twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
It was the best match they could have had.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
All right, So we did have Rob the following Monday,
which opened with CM Punk and he basically said he
was in a pissed off moved surprise, surprise, but he
said the person who was most pissed off at was
himself for the fact that he trusted Paul Hayman, considering
that Hayman had turned on him back in twenty thirteen,
including putting twelve staples in his head when he hit
him in the head with the ladder, and then Haymon
(36:12):
ended up coming out acting like he was going to
walk to the ring to confront him, and then Pump
basically said, yeah, if you come to the ring now,
it's going to be.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
The last thing you ever say and do.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
But then obviously Hayman was not going to walk to
the ring, and then Rollins and Breaker came out to
back him up, and then Rolin's talked about the fact
that Punk always makes himself out to be the victim.
He loves to be the victim all the time, and
he said, you know what, we can make you the
victim right now, and then Ron Breaker went to the
ring and then him and Punk brawled, and then Breaker
eventually got the better of him, and then Breaker and
(36:42):
Rolin's attack Punk, and then Sammy's Ain came out to
back up Punk, but then eventually he was taken down
by Breaker, and then jay Uso came out to try
to help out too, and eventually the three of them
chased off Rolins and Breaker to end the segment, and
it was announced afterwards that Sammy Zin will team up
with See Him Punk to face Bron Breaker and Seth
Rollins next Saturday at Saturday Night's main event.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Yeah. I think it's a perfect, you know, perfect place
to do it at. I don't know, I don't know, man,
because like after wrestle Mania, I don't know why I
was thinking that, Oh it was going to be seampunk
in Roman Reigns versus Seth Rons and bron Breaker, That's
what I was thinking, but apparently it didn't happen. But
I'm okay with this, and and again there's a lot
(37:27):
of questions about what's gonna happen for you know, money
in the Bank coming up next month. But yeah, I'm
I'm okay with this match, having it at a Saturday
Night's main event, and I can't wait for it.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, but I would watch out for Sammy's ain't in
this scenario because even though Jack joining Seth Robins and
bron Breaker and they attacked him and all that, I
would still keep an eye on them, considering the fact
that there's Rollins and Breaker alliance is kind of like
right now outnumbered, and also considering what happened a few
weeks ago when Sammy's ain kind of teased that he
(37:59):
was going to turn on USO. So I would not
rule out a Samny zing Hilton where he joins forces
with them.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Possibly.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Yeah, some people are a lot of people were talking
about that he could be potential, like they'd be like
the next guy.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
So yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Could sitting Like honestly, when I look down the roster,
I don't really see anybody else who could end up
joining them unless they bring up somebody from NXT.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Yeah, but I do see Roman coming back soon, probably
probably maybe by Money in the Bank, if not SummerSlam.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
But he'll definitely be back soon enough to you know.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Joining on this few definitely not have seen the last
offense definitely. And also on RAW, jay Usso was cutting
a promo about his upcoming match at Saturday Night's main event,
where he will defend the title against the douchebag fuck
Logan Paul, but in the middle of the prim becauupted
by both thro the man he.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Defeated at WrestleMania and GOVT.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Jay Usso know that whoever wins that match between him
and Paul the Saturday Nights main Event will have the
privilege of handing the title over to him, as he
will be facing the winner of that match on the
June ninth episode of Rob the Night after Money in
the Bank.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Can't wait for that. I like I love how Guntra said,
how you're gonna you know, face you know he's gonna
face the person who's gonna hand the title to the
rifle owner. I like when he'll say that, when they
say because they when they feel that that title is mine,
not anybody else's. It's mine, Like you're just you're holding
(39:29):
it for me until I come back or whatever. I
like when people talk like that.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
I like it. Yeah, I me too.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Even though he's probably not gonna win the title back here,
I do not see that happening. But I'm gooking forward
to when they do that match again on Rod Hopefully
maybe it'll be an even better match than the WrestleMania one.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
But since it's gonna being the night after Money in
the Bank, I have.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
A feeling like some kind of angle is gonna happen. Yeah,
possibly a cash in or something else. But yeah, something's
going down on that show. Yeah, but we'll have to
see what that something is. And in the show's main event,
we did have Becky Lynch teaming up. I'm sorry, no,
we did not have Becky Lynch teaming up with anybody.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Becky Lynch. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Becky Lynch had cut a promo and talked about how
the fans, like you know, attacked her last year when
she won the title in that Battle World.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
They were calling her Becky Hogan.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
They were like telling all these things about her burying people,
and she said, you know what, from now on what
you say of me, That's what I'm gonna be. And
now all the girls in the back who thought that
I was going to be gone for good and happy
that I was gone, now they get to find out
what it's like.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
To be held down by the man. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
So it looks like they had as Becky and Labra
feute as far from over as we predicted. Definitely gonna
be continuing in the next few months, and Becky is
definitely winning the title when they face each other again.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
That is inevitable.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
M h, have Larra chase after, you know, lose the
title and then go for a chase that'll you know,
this makes make things interesting.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Yeah, Becky's been doing some great work on the mic,
like being a heel now and ever since she came back,
she's better as a hill. I wouldn't go that far,
but she is very good as a hell.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
No, I I know, I'm sticking to what I'm saying.
I think she does better as a heill more than
a baby face. So you saw the program she worked
with when she was with Bianca Belair. She did really
great with that. I feel like she more of her
personality comes out as a hill.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
No, she's great as a hell.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
I'll never dispute that, but I just feel like she
like really became famous and really became as big of
a deal as she is now as technically.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
A babyface and she to her too.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Yeah yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
You didn't come off likable Hill, which is actually a
good thing. And yeah, I was liking where there's some
direction is going with her and also Library and I
can't wait to see the next match. And in the
main event of Row this week, we had Women's World
Champion Eeo Sky defending against the women. She took the
title from Lea Ripley to take on Roxanne Perez and Julia.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
This is a good match. Again. I love how there
have an NXC star Stars on Raw, you know what
I mean. It's great.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Yeah, it was a very fun match. These women were
really going all over the place in this one. But
ultimately at one point there was a miscommunication between Julia
and Roxanne Perez where Julia accidentally crossbody Perez like got
pushed into the way, and then that led to Ria
Ripley hitting the rip Tide on Julia as Roxanne Perez
is being held down by Eo Anda and Eo won
(42:25):
the match. No surprise, and as the.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Show was ending, Ria and Eo were.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Raising each other's hand and Riha stared ahole into that
World heavyweight title for the women as the show ended.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Hey for the second time that happened last time I
saw Ria Ripley on Raw and it's not a surprise
she wants that title. She wants that title.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
So yeah, I see each other.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
With money in the bank, and I could see, if
possible still a heel turned from real soon.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
I could see that.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Kind of where like the Becky and Lyray situation where
Becky's helping to get Lyra's bad neck level for like
the fans to really get behind Lyra.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
I guess even doing something similar with I'm.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Really liking Eel Sky more and more now ever since
the build up to UH to WrestleMania between her Riha
Ripple and Biacca bell Air. I'm really, you know, I'm
really you know liking her way more more now, more
than ever.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Yeah, that feud and the fact that you've won that
match of WrestleMania has done wonders for her.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
She is a way now than she's ever been in
WW Like.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
Don't get me wrong, man, Like when she cashed in
her money to being back in Tony twenty three over
Bianca Summer Simon. I was, you know, happy for her,
and you know, also her her build up feud with
Bailey at last year's RUSSELLMANI, which was good. But this
one right here, this is like the icing on the cake.
This is like, oh wow, like you're always starting to,
(43:51):
you know, pick up with her and notice her way
more now.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
So yeah, the crowd's really behind her, and she kind
of really feels like a star on the level of
real Bianca, Charlotte, all those Becky, all those other women.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
So yeah, she's like really.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
And now also Tiffany Stratton you gotta throw in there too,
from you know how she beat Charlott at wrestling.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Oh my god, Oh my god. I love Tiffany Stratton.
Oh the crowd last week, No, it was was the
last week. A week before that, they were like pretty
much gen Tiffy time.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
I love it. Yeah. Then it feels like.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
They're elevating some of the other women, which I like
to see, like from Tiffany Stratton EO also viral some
of the women women from NXT they're bringing up. So yeah,
it's like really looking good for the women's division now
compared to a couple of months ago.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
I have to say when Stephanie Vakure moves to the
main roster full time, all hands on deck. That's all
I have to say.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Booker t goes a ship for one of those moves
that she does where she's like.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Yeah, around her head and like just slams him into
the mad Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:59):
Yeah. The book is going to be devastated once she
leaves them.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Man, that'll be all right.
Speaker 5 (45:07):
One of the chatte thinks of all this. I mean,
I don't know, but anyway, Will.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
But speaking of rich Dalm, I wanted to get into
what Will Osby recently said about the aw talent competitive
w w e's talent.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
He was doing an interview recently.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
Osby was asked why fans should choose watching a w
all in in Texas on July twelfth as opposed to
the potential Women's Evolution show or Saturday Nights.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
Made it meant they're going to be doing that same day.
This is what he had to say, because we smoked
them in every field of wrestling. We're just better.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
And while the expressed respect for individuals like bloom Through,
Randy Ordon and Chad Gable, acknowledging that they can.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
You know, get the people off their feet. He maintained
that AW was the better place ask me. Further elaborated
that we.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Are so much more of a better resting company than them.
Our guys smoked them every single day of the week.
On our worst day, we still smoke.
Speaker 1 (46:16):
All of them.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
Interesting words, was that it?
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Yeah, that's basically it.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
Okay, I don't even know where to begin. Smoke him.
How You're You're definitely not smoking WW in the ratings.
You're not smoking WW when it comes to fan attendance.
I know that for damn sure. So I mean, are
you talking about like I'm the talent wise or match
(46:45):
quality or what? It's just you can't I'm sorry. I
know people are solitary opinions though, but I'm just like
somebody the math ain't math and man, and that's I
thought it was just silly. Like I see, I've kind
of I've lost respect for that business now to the
point where, I mean recently AW was here in Vegas,
(47:10):
but I just didn't have the energy or the time
just to go. I just didn't want to. I don't
why bother. I just I felt like this company has
just completely fell off the grid, you know, the past
couple of years now. Man, it's just sad.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
I think they've gotten better recently, Like the last few
episodes of dynam might have been pretty good.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
But yeah, they do say some of these things that
kind of make you shake your head a little bit.
But whatever, he has the right to his opinion.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
I think he was talking more about, like, you know,
ring work and match quality. That's where he thinks that
AW superior to w W.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
A Yeah, I was wondering about that. And when it
comes to match yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
And look, AW has some great talents, some incredible talent.
They put on incredible matches that I like a lot.
But there is a difference in many ways between AW
and WWE, and I could definitely see why, as a
fan of both, why people were like w W moore
right now, because it's not just about the wrestling. It's
just not not just about the match quality. It's about
the stories and characters that go along with it.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Yeah. I mean, if you're talking about the match quality
of which you know, you YouTube and you have and okay,
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna really, you know, argue
against that. I'm not you know what I mean. Everybody's
unique in different their own ways, you know what I mean,
And but just in general as a whole, that's a
(48:29):
little bit far fetched though. But when it comes to
match quality, you know, yeah, he has his opinion to that.
But uh, like I said, man, it just it doesn't
hold back the fact how I feel as as as
a company as a whole man. For the past couple
of years, they just fell off the gridge just a
little bit, man. And it didn't bother me back then
(48:50):
about how they were always talking about WWE and this,
this and that, But now it's starting to bother me now.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
Yeah, I mean it's definitely been to turn off for
me too. Yeah, they're not really in any place to
talk anything about w W in that sense, because, yeah,
they've definitely like taken a downward spiral in recent years.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Although it's been getting better lately.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Although I've enjoyed the product a lot more lately, they
definitely are far behind WW in many many ways, which
you cannot deny.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Yeah, and one of them has, you know, especially with
the fan attendants. I don't know if it's gotten better,
you know, but we.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Live in Chicago. Last night it looked pretty full in there. Yeah,
look pretty full. They're like I think, like scaling down some.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Of the like look is like, you know, more people
over there, like make it look more full.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
So that's been a positive change area.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
No, it wasn't it. All State Arena was somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Huh. Okay.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
And also Mercedes No neighbors saying recently, you know, talking
about that all in Texas show coming up, that with
her potentially being in the headline match for that show,
that she is the Beyonce of professional wrestling. Really yeah,
because of the whole Texas connection and all that. Because
it's going to be in Texas. Yeah, she's not calling
herself a Beyonce a pull wrestling.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
Ah Okay, yeah, I kind of I.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Get I can see why she would say that.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
I don't think she's like the draw that Beyonce is
from that regard, but she definitely has her appeal.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
In a sense.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
My girlfriend Samantha's bummed out. She she won't be able
to see her touring this year.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Why because of the baby coming up and everything. Yeah,
Oh that's too.
Speaker 1 (50:33):
Bad, man.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
It's coming up because she's coming to Vegas on July
twenty fifth and you know, she doesn't, you know, she
just want to be careful and all that, which I
don't blame her, you know, but yeah, she's she's a
little bit bummed out. She's going to miss out.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
So yeah, I also heard that Shakira is actually going
to be here at Medlife Stadium like this weekend.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Oh yeah, Kendrick and says that were here last week
at Medlife stadiums now this week nice?
Speaker 3 (50:59):
Nice?
Speaker 1 (51:00):
Yeah. I finally saw the video for that song they
had that Luther Vangrel sample.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Yeah, Luther.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
Yeah, the I finally saw the video for a rest today.
It was dope.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
Yeah, So this is having a.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Monster year man from that One of Them Days movie
to being at the super Bowl, having a tour with Kendrick.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Yeah, she's doing work.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Right now, definitely.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Yeah. What did you think.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
About what hul Cogan said recently about all of his haters,
how like they'll still like pay attention to him and they.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
Still make his name of the van. This is basically
like in all what he had to say, for those
that are the haters and still have.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
A problem with me, that's nothing that I can do
to fix that except just keep proving by my actions
that I'm still in the game.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
Oh no, it's it's getting old about you know, Hogan
and all that stuff, and it's just all this all
goes back to, you know, him getting booed on that
first episode of Raw on Netflix.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
You know it not that.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Yeah, he was talking about how like that booge I'm
seen as I bow the rock, but when they bow
him it creates.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
A buzz and it's a bigger story. It's not really
a bigger story for the right reasons.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Bro, I mean, come on, now, like when you get
booed and then freaking what was it? Was it Fox
News or CNN was talking about it. Yeah, it was
kind of it was like a big thing, you know
what I mean to other people because it's Hulkovian, you
know what I mean. Hulk Hogan's like the first mega
superstar of this business. You know that we love. So
(52:30):
I think that's why a lot of people, you know,
outside of wrestling media was making an issue about it.
But I don't know, it gets old. It's to the
point I just I don't even care. And it's like
and it goes further, you know, with whole racist comments.
That's where all that's kind of like where it really
(52:50):
really stands down from because from that, you know, and
look man, like I just don't care. It was just
like whatever, I'm just he's just talking and it's just
nothing's gonna change him saying that, like what, it's not
going to change about how people feel about him. He
really isn't. At the end of the.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
Day, nothing's gonna change because apparently he's not gonna change.
Like the vibe I just get from him from every
time he talks is that he's just super delusional, like
he really legit things. He did nothing wrong, he's not
guilty of anything, and that people are just thinking things
or hearing things, and that they're just being haters for
how they're reacting to him. I'm like, bro, you know
(53:30):
exactly what you did. You know exactly why people don't
like you anymore. And I even staided a few weeks
ago on WrestleMania twenty one Wrestling Review rewind show that
reaction he got at that WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
I don't think he'll ever get a reaction like that again.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Yeah, I agree with you, unless.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
He's had some Trump rally or something. As far as
I got a wrestling show, I don't think he'll ever
get a reaction like.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
That again, period. And it's sad, it's unfortunate, but you know,
he did this to himself.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
There's like stories a mile long of all the grimmy
things he's done, all the shady things he's done, and yeah,
it kind of like and it just like bothers me
that so many people still defend him, and.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Not to mention also Diddy for that matter, trying.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
To say like, oh, if it weren't for them, we
wouldn't have like the good things that we enjoyed.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Wouldn't have wrestling, we wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
Have the artists that we enjoy all over the jazz
and it just makes me shake my head, like, you know,
these people cannot get over their fandom and I cannot
stop kissing these people's asses to save their lives.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
And yet sad, Yeah, it is, especially if the Diddy one.
Speaker 1 (54:29):
Like I see that dude boosy like defending nothing wrong.
Speaker 3 (54:34):
Oh no, no, no, no no no. These past two days,
I don't know if you've been following, Oh my god,
the testimonies that I've been hearing, I'll be sure, and
then you know Casey Ventura talking and just like oh
my goodness, is boy and you saw the recent picture
of Diddy.
Speaker 1 (54:53):
Yeah, I'm and yo, there's the stuff involving Did he
surprises me anymore?
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Any of these stories that come out, any of these crazy,
ask weird stories that come out, None of them are
surprising to me anymore.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
No, it's just hearing it though. It's just disturbing though,
you know, and uh.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
Of course, of course. But I'm just saying I've heard
so many of them that like, yeah, I'm just kind
of numb to it now.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
Yeah, I don't know. And then and then was it
yesterday freaking Tory Lanez freaking you know, got stabbed in
prison multiple times? And then then literally like was it
was I think it was today or was that that
same day one of his defense attorneys or whoever literally
came out and talked about it wasn't him who shot
(55:34):
who fired at uh? At making uh making a stallion
back was like a few years back, which was like
the whole reason why Tory Lanez is in prison. So
now that came out and it's just like, wow, dude.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
Well for a while people have been saying that that
like he wasn't the one responsible for it, and that
she got him in trouble or something.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
I don't know the full details of that whole case.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
I don't know exactly what happened or who's in the fall,
what what the exact details were.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
But yeah, any.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
People think that like she had like inconsistent stories as
far as what happened, and that kind of like led
to him getting you know, locked up, you know, and
possibly like didn't do anything or possibly wasn't the one
involved or or didn't do what he was accused of
in that sense.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
But who knows.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
I don't know any of these people. I never met
them in my life. Any of these things could happen.
It could have been anything.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
Yeah, it was just like I showed my girlfriend that
and you know, she respond to say, out, it's crazy
how this comes out literally right after you know, he
gets you know, attacked in prison and this story comes out.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
So yeah, it could be anything, man, But just the
only time, hotel. This is just a whole soap opera
for the whole world to sit through. It doesn't feel
like it's ending anytime soon. Oh no, yeah, but it
is what it is. But my brother, anything else you
want to get into today.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Just I'm surprised. This year is going by pretty fast.
We're literally you know, money to bank is coming up.
It's just crazy, like.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Money in the bank is going to be in June
this year. We got money in the bank. We have
a Memorial Day weekend next weekend well fact to be
at the Eastern Conference in the Western Conference finals for
the NBA playoffs.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
Yeah, there's something here has.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
Gotten by yeah man, and it's crazy and can't wait
for next week. We'll do our wrestling rewind session as
