(00:00):
The following is brought to you bythe p l D Projects Network. It's
me, It's me, It's pl D. What's up, everybody.
(00:52):
We have a new hashtag. It'shashtag blame Jarvi. It's not my fault
this week, agreed Jarvy. Usuallythe you know one, the stickler yelling
at us. We're like thirty secondslate, we're going live. It was
his fault this week. Actually,I was I was here. I was
here twenty minutes ago. I waswaiting on you guys. None of you
were in backstage. You have beenhere sooner. I would have figured out
I had issues. We could havegone live earlier. I can't blame me,
(01:18):
always will blame you from now on. You were forever blamed. What's
up, everybody? Welcome to classaction. I'm your host PLD here on
the PLD Product Network. I'm herewith the one we are blaming, mister
Richard Eric Jarvey. How are youdoing, my friend, doing good?
Doing good? What's going on?It's been a minute. I don't think
we've done a show for like aminute. Wow, something like something like
(01:42):
that. I can't. I've openedup my my little noe pat and see
when we were all together last time. I think when you guys did Air
Versus moneyballed out me that was prettygood. Pretty I'm pretty I pressed,
especially with your had Harris choices.I like you did there. I kind
of like, I kind of likedI did like kind of like some Galaxus's
William Harold's Pexil as well, andHarris being the disembodied voice of Michael Jordan
(02:06):
I thought was a striper genius. But yet this we are here also with
of course my Holy Snows compatriot Maddie, my friend. How are you doing
this week? I'm here, I'mready. I will be completely honest.
I watched the D and D moviefor the first time yesterday to prepare for
this. Okay, so it was. It was one of those movies.
(02:30):
I was like, I'll get toit when it's on streaming, all right,
be honest. Same with Guardians three. I haven't watched it yet,
probably gonna watch it when it whenit gets to streaming. But it's a
good thing. We're not talking aboutGuardians three, We're talking about Guardians one.
That's right, because quite frankly,I want to say that Jesse was
here earlier on I posted I postedthis last night, I had a schedule.
(02:52):
That's very interesting for me. Ishould do this like right before.
But he was saying Guardians had himcrime the whole time. That would be
Guardians three. We had just behindthe scenes what to do. We kind
of wanted to do something with Guardiansthree because it was just down a new
kind of thing, but we didn'tknow what to put up against. We
kind of toy around putting Guardian threeup against Guardians one. Maybe your Guardians
three up against different like a coupleof different things. We had options for,
(03:15):
but nothing really seemed to fit.I think Jarvey had the idea of
doing like two disparate groups together likewe did before we did Guardians one versus
Suicide Squad or that. That waskind of think something like that, so
it would be something similar, andDungeon Dragons was pitch is kind of a
similar mindset. We couldn't put Guardiansthree versus Dungeons and Dragons one, becauld
It seem like such different points inthe story that how could you really compare
(03:38):
the two. I mean you could, but this felt like, let's just
go back to Guardians well and we'lltake the inception of the teams as we
get are the squads there, andsee which one we liked better with our
custom made categories of course, becausethat's how we do things here on Beegal.
They projects five customer categories unless Iwant to make something win and I
give it a six category. Butthis way, I'm very, very okay
(03:59):
with everything. So well, Idon't care who I have no horse in
the game. I love them both. So there are some horses and dungeons
there are there are I think there'ssome space horses always going later. But
you know what, you know whatJudge Pod does kind of remind me of.
And there's other movie that I watchedthe other day, And I don't
mean this in the like the contextof people probably gonna think you kind of
(04:20):
remind me of the Judge from theTime to Kill, the first one where
Matthew McConaughey is trying to get thetrial moved a different date and the judge
is like immediately like no, I'mnot even gonna hear your motion. You
are like, we're having the trialhere. I'm going to just recommended that
movie to me. It's great. It'll rip your fucking heart out, but
(04:44):
it's a great movie. It's aI think I think it was Crystal actually
who were recommended, because I've neverI'd never seen that before and I know
it's on Netflix at the moment.Yes, Krystal Jarvi messed up big time.
That's what happened. So don't worryabout that. I was here first.
That you missed up. You messedup. He had tech issues just
like Ben Bateman. Yes he waschanneling the boss. Uh but you know
what, Mike, You're right too. Always gonna blame lack of vetta.
(05:08):
Jake Lacavetta is always been to blame. Speaking of that, we are actually
had a called Action Union last nightkind of sort of. I saw I
need to watch that now you haveto wait for later. Jake has put
it on private for now because sonof a he is looking for a new
job and didn't want his Uh shallwe say, how do we probably put
this gently Jake's self out there?Well so, but yeah, me and
(05:33):
Jake had a lot of fun,a lot of folk kind of weird.
At last, hit me with thatlink that I will. I'll definitely hit
you up with that link later on. But we're back here. Kelly actually
made the appearance too. She madea quick appearance to you put Jake in
his place. That was actually kindof fun, very fun. But if
you're here for the first time, one on the projects, if I like
it, to subscribe less know whatyou're feeling. Got a lot of stuff
(05:55):
going on there. Class action everyother week, to have her White Dudes
on film every other week. PJ. We're working to Jones Saga. Next
week we'll be talking Indian Jones andthe Temple Duma, which was my childhood
and favorite. I love that onequite a bit. Of course, we
got, you know, a lotof different things coming up still too.
We got Holy Snokes. We're gonnahave an episode tomorrow Holy snokes talking about
(06:16):
the top five or best five cutsfrom Kevin Kiner Uh, the John Williams
Heir apparent in the Star Wars universeand all the an Joe's wonderful musician,
wonderful orchestrations Uh, to be followedup next week by our favorite John Williams
cuts no Star Wars Universe. Soit's gonna be a ton of fun.
And that's not even talking about Crownfun fun. You give me five John
(06:41):
Williams cues to tick and you thinkthat's gonna be fun for me blood bath.
I can't wait for it. Ican't wait for it. There you
go, No, you can gomiss me with that one. Yes,
that's my son. My son isa huge Kevin Kyder fan. What's upside?
Uh, let's see, he's abig hen to tell me is Kevin
Kiner. He'll maybe I'll get histop five. I'll slid it in there
(07:04):
in the show at some point.Yeah. So we're actually watching Rebels today
after after the show is done,we're watching Who've been watching Star Wars Rebels?
The two of us back and forth. He hasn't seen it before.
I'm getting through it the first time. Today is a big day. We
can't spoiler. Something's some big thingshappen that we're in season four, getting
up towards the end. It gonnabe fun, some fun moments. Today
(07:24):
we're about halfway through, so we'regetting there. That did you guys watch
visions? I know that's actually Iwatched visions. We watched visions for the
Holy Snokes. Actually me mad hedid a broadcast. We did a We
watched Vision season one, and towatch Vision season two. After we're doing
Rebels, Tyler and I are goingto watch Visions together also love love Love
visions, gris stuff Therehsoka's team isvery sweet there. I do love team.
(07:48):
But okay, that's that's all what'sgoing on in the channel. Now,
let's talk about this very show,Guardians of the Galaxy Volume one,
Dungeons and Dragons among these. Nowwe have five custom made categories where they
put these two up against each other. The seat which one walks away or
dances away as would probably be moreapt for these two as winners with the
(08:13):
loots so to speak, or singsaway. One better crew, which one
is our better team? Two abetter villain, Which is an interesting conversation
to have when it comes to thesefilms because there's like villains and there's a
kind of half villain I don't know. Three better mission slash story, four
(08:33):
better music, and five in thiscase, better humor. I'm very interested
to see where we go with thesebecause quite frankly, I think they both
have very great there's great things aboutboth these movies and all these categories,
and it's kind of hard for meto judge. Got in the Galancy obviously
a mainstay, whereas Dungeon and Dragonskind of a more of a surprise,
(08:56):
oun't know where for me, sowe' you see. But before we get
to that, we have to dosomething we always do on this channel.
We graduate a little bit. Nowit's not just Ed Harris, but we
are going to play the recast game. I'm gonna bring up a wheel onto
the screen. Wow, we havea wheel this week. We came up
with the wheel. While it hasbeen a while, we're going to spin
(09:18):
that wheel. And while it's weare going to redash. Are the actors
that get we get on the wheelinto each movie, one for Guardians and
once for Dungeons and Dragons on ouramong Thieves. So without further ado,
let's get that wheel on the boardhere. Let's see what that's not gonna
(09:39):
want to do? We want tothere. We have on this deal Ed
Harris, John Jonathan Garoff, KeithDavid, Theola Davis, Marc Robbie,
Donnie En, Jana Reeves, andZoe's Aldna. Well she's in Guardians,
(10:01):
so we good choice to make.Mab should make change that change that when
somebody, if I changed somebody elselike it was the last time I just
run there, let's change that togive me me an actress's name, any
actress throw it in there. Firstincomes had Angela Bassett. I know we
had her, and no, wait, we gotta. We're gonna think of
someone new, though, aren't FW. That's fine, we'll do that,
(10:22):
Florence. There you go, Lades. So there we go. Let's see
what we got. We're gonna spendit right now. I added Donnie and
for you guys, for Maddie andfor Kelly and I you guys would love
that. So her, let's letme take this better off because we were
actually going through there. All right, let's do it up clicking to spin.
Who are we doing? Guardians quickly? Oh come on, oh my
(10:45):
god, you've you've rigged the wheel. I don't really get anything. I
just spin, my friends, Ijust spin. So all right, let
us put ed Harris into Guardians ofthe Galaxy, the original Maddie, I
will let you first it Harris Guardiansof Galaxy. Remember, we can recast
(11:11):
or going with the recast. Okay, this one hurts because I love Michael
Rooker. It is kind of harHarris is dude, he's married, popping,
y'all. It is kind of theobvious choice. I mean, it's
obviously the first thing you can thinkof. That he's the older gentleman who
(11:31):
could be the Quills father figure. He'd be a little more intense than Michael
Rooker at there. But uh,Mike, I love you that wheel,
you know. I'm like, youcan tell me in person when you see
me in August. And Kelly doesnot Rick not ricked tick the tire.
Actually we can actually put ticket andI'll take on the next wheel. Maybe
(11:52):
all right, we'll go with that. Jarvis, do you have one you
want to know? Are you gonnachin see and write somebody new or are
you gonna try to replace somebody?I've got one, Okay, I'm actually
no, I'm gonna I'm gonna createa new role. And I'm gonna make
Groot a brother with the Harris voice. And he's just yelling I am Groot,
(12:15):
always yelling. No his nickname, his name, it's Groot. And
up here, I'm up here, and there's the other you're down lay,
so hey, you know Groot.I get that. He's a Groot.
(12:37):
He's another Groot. I like thattoo. I hate you so much,
you love me and you know it? All right, that's up to me.
Then who am I gonna put edHarrison role? I could replace Chris
Pratt easily because that Harris could leadthis movie, no doubt, but I
won't. I'll keep Chris Frott inthe dance off role because but you've seen
that Harris's moves and creep Show,so he could definitely do that dance and
(13:00):
Chris Pratts, I mean, he'sno, there's no Kevin Bacon and oh
he's better than Kevin Bait. Haveyou seen creeb Show? Oh wow,
I was. I just wanted tothrow Po under the bus too, because
like making another reference that no oneunderstands, but you've said, I'm here.
(13:20):
Ed Harris as Howard the Duck says, of course that's a good call.
Uh and good MOR's new green boyfriend. That's fair. That's fair green
friend like Green frid. I amgoing to put Ed Harris in. Yes,
I'm gonna do it. It oneof the weaker links to me.
(13:41):
And this is not I don't thinkit's his fault. It's not Pace's fault,
even Ed Harris were only the accuser, because if he's gonna make that
bad, he would make that evenfurther badass. I lovely Pace generally,
but in this movie he kinda isit's not quite as good as you could,
So why not fill it with theperson that Harris, who's gonna make
(14:03):
any movies in better? Wait, wait, both of both of y'all made
it. Harry's blue, that's true. I made him and I made him
brown, that's true. It's alwaysalias what's going on there? Ed Harris
is the guy with the leg rocketonce Mike, that's actually could be brilliant.
That actually could be brilliant. Andthen my son actually goes low funny
specifically because of how hilariously unfitting thatwould be. I think, oh,
(14:24):
come on, it would be great, and that it would not be it
would be fitting in that role, fitting in that role. Manti verse saying,
love the new d D movie doesn'tcompare to Guardians. Well, we'll
get there. We'll get there,Mounting. It's all about the categories.
It's always about the category we've doneset up before. There's times we love
the movie one movie of the otherone and the other one has one duty
categories. All right, those arethe three four Ed Harris recast, And
(14:46):
let's add us to the list againand see if we can spin somebody else,
or is the real Harris comes upo David. That's a good We
haven't got Keith David on the roleon the board yet. Keith David is
the one we're gonna throw in inDungeons and Dragons. That's a good one.
(15:09):
I love me from Keith David. We're gonna put him now. Mmm,
that's tough. That is tough.I think I think I got one.
I think I'm gonna go with canI use a phone a friend?
And yes, yes you may.I want to do that. That's fine,
(15:30):
but I'm not gonna need I'm notgonna need him because I'm gonna put
I'm going to replace a cameo ofsorts in there. I'm gonna say bye
bye Bradley Cooper and put Keith Davidin as Michelle d Holga's miniature husband.
Because Keith David is so big andsuch a giant, like larger than life
kind of guy. To see himas the halfling with nippy laugh, I'd
(15:56):
give me that rule at any time. So that's what I'm gonna go with
that one. Keith David, theminiature miniature husband. That is that is
a your extendant to say, butthis movie makes it funny. Marlman is
the character name. So Keith Davidis my new Marlaman I think I go
on, Actually, okay, Iwould replace him as the Fayan guy.
(16:18):
God, I can't remember his name. Oh yeah, Zinn Page, awesome.
Yeah, I would put Keith Davidin that role. Yeah, you
know what, that's pretty pretty strong. That's a good point. I like
that one. He's very powerful,he's very we have much different performance obviously
because it's a green Ray. Janeis so much younger. I like,
(16:40):
I like what David could do.Give it to me, all right,
Jarvy's up to you. Yeah,I'm gonna put Keith David as Jarnathan because
he's again for the same reasons Upod put him as the miniature husband,
because he's such like a has apresence and the voice. He's got such
a thundering voice. To have himas his Jarnathan who gets stepped on both
(17:06):
scenes that is in playing against thesite. I love it. I love
it. All right, nice, very nice. All right. Then that's
the recast for today. Let's moveon to the meat and potatoes of the
show. As we like to say, We're going to go on to the
trial, a trial as it go. And again I said the category is
better crew, better villain, betterMichigan story, better music, better humor,
(17:30):
will start first, better crew countneeded lead us off? Yeah,
this is uh, this was tough, toughest ship. This was by far
the toughest category. I feel likeboth movies are so similar with when it
comes to Cruise. Both got greatChris's both got great strong female leads.
(17:53):
You got a you got a mage? You go Wait? Is there a
majoring Guardians? No, there's not, but both like rag tag teams,
both criminals banding together. Both movieshave really tragic backstories to their characters.
So I don't know. To me, they just canceled each other out as
(18:17):
I went forward, And I thinkI am going to have to just a
little bit edges it out towards Guardiansfor me, because I feel like Guardians,
and I know it's kind of anunfair argument because Guardians has been out
longer. I think I'd have hardertime trying to recast the Guardians or even
(18:37):
when it comes to Star Lord,I love what Chris Pine did with Edkin,
but I could like I've seen ChrisPine do that before. Chris Pratt
kind of had the like he thatwas his up and coming role when he
came to like apart from TV,so that was like his first leading man
kind of thing, and he freakingnailed it. So I think because of
(19:00):
that, I gotta give it toGuardians. But it's so tim close.
I mean, I love both cruiseI try to think, like which I'd
rather go on a mission with. They don't cancel each other out. They're
so similar in that sense, Soit's so tough, but I gotta go
with Gardians. I get what you'resaying, and then I agree with you.
That's a bunch, and I'd markedthat down for you. My problem
that I had when I do thisthe whole time was one of the reasons
I had a hard time with thisentire escapade here, just because it's tough
(19:23):
making sure that I don't count anythingfrom Guardians of the Galaxy Volume two or
Volume three. This is just thefirst film, just introductory chore, so
I gotta I can't remember. It'stough sometimes that Mantis isn't even in the
Guardians. You asked me if there'sa Mage, and then is there a
major in Garden Time? Well,Mantis kind of is, but she's not
(19:44):
in the first film even and she'skind of like, I mean, you
know, she's telepath. It's aMaids like. I guess you would say
the closest thing they had to aMaid's character, But she's not even in
the first one, so you can'teven argue that at this point. So
it's hard doing that. It's alsohard knowing that they have, like Guardians
have a great history lower like Iknew star Lord, I've Doeen Gomarga Moore,
i new Drags even for the moviebecause I read the comicot throwing up.
(20:06):
So that's also tough having I've alreadyhad a background with them. And
yes, Monty, it is ChrisPratt, the voice of New York Italian
icon Mario. He does that verywell. But so it was hard to
do that. But at the sametime, I can't deny that the team
does have more depth than the DungeonsCrew does. Dungeon's Crew is a solid
(20:33):
team. It's very much a Guardian'slike team, and I think giving a
franchise, I might be able togrow into them quite a bit. But
the first film you have Chris Pine, who does it greatly. I think
Chris Pine and Chris probably kind ofcancel each other out al though Chris Pine,
I admit, I agree, itis still doing very Chris pine is
stuff. I mean, Chris Prattis doing Chris Prattish stuff too. Can't
say it is kind of like similarthat way. Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Soldana
(20:56):
kind of canced each other out becauseMiche Rodrigue actually does a really fine job.
I didn't expect much from Michelle.I'm not a huge Michelle ruderg gez
fan overall, but she really dida good job here. I don't want
to get past that. The characteris striking a little more nebulous, uh
good? Do you know, likeJustice Smith has great moments, Sophilo's historic
(21:19):
great moments, but they don't seemas realized as like the intensity that like
Rocket Raccoon has or that Draxas. It just seems like a root different or
group for that matter, A Treesays, Iron group still feels like it's
a little more depth than the othercharacters. So I feel like the Dungeon
Dragon's crew has a great, solidfoundation and could get to that level at
some day, but Guardian's at theground running and whether or not I can
(21:41):
canfully disenfranchise them for the rest Guardiansis the better solid team overall. Do
you consider Zinc part of the crew? He kind, but he has disappeared
halfway through, but he was soenjoyable the parts that he was in.
Yeah, that's that's kind of toughto say, you know what I'm saying.
That's the kind of interesting, Like, yes, yes, Tyler nebulous,
(22:03):
I got showing. And did Imean intentionally as a fun Yes,
of course I always mean my punsintentionally. Actually I didn't actually really that
was a great one, though,I know, I just I'm so good.
I do I do without even thinkingabout it. But yeah, I'm
gonna leave it and I'm gonna putthe Guardians myself. Although I do want
to pitch that that if given anotherchance for a sequel, I think we
(22:26):
could absolutely get some higher marks outof Dungeon Dragon's Crew. Maddie, how
about you? Three for three? This one I think for me was easier
than it was for you guys.I feel like while the Guardian while because
the Guardians didn't like really know eachother at the start, whereas we got
(22:48):
a backstory with particularly Elgin and Hulgaand like they've been on missions before,
like they had backstory. They hada backstory all with each other with Simon.
Yeah, they picked up a coupleof new people along the way,
but I still feel like even withthat, the the Dungeons and Dragons crew
was still a sum of its parts, whereas the Guardian's Crew really became a
(23:15):
crew at the end. If I'mlooking at crews like I use the like
the Ocean's Eleven crew as an example, Like everyone plays their part right,
but they all work as one cohesiveunity. I feel like, maybe,
and maybe it's just because I've onlywatched it the one time, I feel
like the D and D Crew thestory still remained mostly about Elgin and Eggins
(23:42):
sorry Egg and Hogger's relationship, Likethat was the main, the main arc
of the overall team. And Ifeel like Simon had a really interesting story
that kind of got pushed to theback a bit. And I understand that
with it with like two and ahalf hours, Like, there's only so
much story you can tell, especiallyin a world as massive as Dungeons and
(24:04):
Dragons. I mean, we're talkingabout a game franchise there's been around for
possibly longer than I've even been alive. There's so much there's so much law
and storytelling to tell to fit itinto a two and a half hour movie,
it's a near impossible task. ButI feel like the Guardians did it
better and stuck the landing a lotmore than Dungeons and Dragons did in this
(24:30):
case. But again, we don'tknow how D and D is going to
go on as a franchise. Itcould move on to another movie where they
expand on Simon a little bit more, right, that makes sense. I
mean, I will say that onething, and I guess I'll probably get
into this a little bit more whenit comes to mission and story, but
Money actually says we'll talk. DNDis a blast. But I felt more
(24:52):
emotion in the opening minutes of Guardiansthan I did entirely of honor among thieves.
That's not that's actually a statement thatmakes sure with the crew itself too,
in terms of the and Guardians asa whole generally handled the comedy serious
parts better, like more like youhad those moments where it was more the
characters felt more real because they hadmore real moments. Dutch and Dragons had
(25:12):
some of those real moments but hadn'tquite done as competently as Gun did.
I mean competently is actually better gunHis master is a master at that kind
of that kind of cinema. Guyswho did Dungeon Dragons, who I love
by the way. I love thedirectors involved. I love Jonathan Goldcie and
John Francis. Daily Game Nights oneof my favorite movies of God He Died.
(25:34):
I loved that movie so much.I love I can't wait to see
more from these guys. I canhope they do something more further, and
I hope they get I hope theactually get down our D and D too.
I think they could actually get betterwith this kind of movie as we
go along. But as it standsright now, I give it to the
Guardians as well. Sean Wingley justgetting here thanks to seeing I see here
in the chat. But this guyhere, I don't understand what we're making
(25:56):
our favorite children fight each other.I'm jumping back to the begetting Yeah,
because we have to. That's whatit is we have to do. It's
what we do, my friend,That's what we do here. Yeah,
we make it evil on each other. Sometimes you go, you smash your
kids heads together to put him inline. Let's see what happens they see
which one it's called. It wasan evolutionist, you know, survival of
the fittest, so natural selection.Natural selection, that's the word I was
(26:18):
going for. Thanks, all right, well then we got that. We're
down with better curl. Let's goto better villain. This is a harder
one for me. And this isthe reason why I'll start this one off
if you don't mind. The problemis like who is the villain and who
counts as a villain. Like, obviously both films have villains. In terms
of Guardians, you got Rodin andDunt of Dragons, you have the Red
(26:41):
Witch or the Red She's like themain bad guy per se. But Guardians
also has Yandu as an antagonist throughouta lot of the film. Is especially
again just this film. Obviously weget more from him in two and three,
uh in two rather than Memory thanthree, But in this one he
(27:03):
is a He's definitely more of anantagonist side Dungeon Dragons though, Q Grant
as Forge as a former member ofthe crew, the con artist, the
betrayer. And that's why I alwayshate to do it. I'm gonna lean
towards D and D because Hugh Grant'scharacter made me laugh the entire time.
(27:30):
Ronan Accuser was kind of a boringvillain to me comparatively, I mean,
so is the Red Wins Right, which is kind of a boring character.
He's kind of more of an archetypethan anything else than having your real personality.
So it really comes down to HughGrant versus Yondu, and I enjoyed
the helplessness of Hugh Grant more likehe's like the guy that shouldn't be able
to win, but yet still findsa way because he looks out to things.
(27:52):
And I think part of it mightbe again my fault for having a
hard time disenfranchising it, but Ihe's hard to look at Metal Rooker is
a bad guy overall, because weknow what's gonna happen, we know how
that relationship is gonna go. Overall, it's hard to look up as an
overall bad guy. So I'm gonnalean towards D and D and give it
to Hugh Grant over that because hemade me laugh. I think he was
(28:14):
the perfectly He was perfectly cash inthis role, Like there's no one who
could have played this role with quitethe same a plumb as you would like
you kind of believe him in withthe crew. You see him afterwards,
hes like, this guy's a fuckingasshole and I'm here for it. So
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna gowith Dungeon Dragons on this one. I
will expand on that. I wasreading an interview with Hugh Gant, which,
(28:36):
by the way, I love thathis last few roles, Like it
seems ever since the gentleman Hugh Granthas just been taking roles where he's just
having the time of his life. And like you even go back to what
was it the Oscars or the metGala where he was on the red carpet
and they were like, what areyou wearing today? My suit? Who
do you? Who do you?Hope wins? I don't care. So
(29:00):
it's like it seems like he's justtaking these roles just to have fun,
and I love that for him.I read an interview with him that he
channeled our for a lot of ourformer Prime Minister Boris Johnson into this role,
and I can I think that nowis like, Okay, I see
why I thought his character in Dand D was such a big piece of
(29:22):
shit, because you have this guywho gets by solely on his charisma and
like, you know he's lying, but he's still gonna like pretend that what
he thinks that he thinks he's convincingyou that he's like he think he thinks
he is this silver tongue devil. When it's like, dude, we know
(29:42):
you're lying, we know you're fullof shit, but keep spinning that yarn
anyway because it's entertaining the watch.Yeah, absolutely so. I I and
like the grandioseness of it, andit's just like, dude, you're a
con man essentially, like you havenothing. And that that bit at the
end where he looks through the poorwhen he sees like, oh, it
(30:06):
was so satisfied and just like allthe treasure falling out of a balloon with
his face on it, that Ilove that more. That was good.
That was pretty good. All right, Jeremy, let me expand, all
right, what may what Maddy wassaying about Forge, I'm gonna just add
that he well, while he wasthe biggest ship weasel slash villain slash antagonist,
(30:32):
he did have that sort of redeemingsight to him as well, because
he really did care for Kira.I think what the girl's name was in
that sense, he he actually didtry to give her a good life,
try to take care of her.Yes, his motivations were kind of fucked
up, but like the ways thatthe means I mean, but the motivation
(30:52):
was good, So in that sensehe was redeemable. But and I don't
consider Onto as the secondary villain ofGuardians. I think it's Kasu. I
think he's because yonder. To mestill feels like he's kind of a good
even in the first one he doeslet Quill go when when they capture him.
(31:15):
So what I did? I putHugh Grant and Daisy Heads as the
villains against lee Pace and Onsu. But I think it's it's easily dungeons.
Yes, Lee Pace has ronan,I mean, he doesn't really get to
do any of his Lee paciness.Like he's just blue and has to be
menacing, very uncharismatic, very likeBlocky Forge was amusing, charismatic, I
(31:41):
mean, goofy over the top.And yes, he was enjoying the ship
out of every moment he was in. That's fair. That's fair, all
right? Interesting enough? Wow,okay, interesting tournam events so far?
And how's it going to? Howwill this end? You gotta stay tuned
to find out, all right, better mission slash story. This is when
I definitely don't want to lead,so I'm gonna let Madden lead this one
(32:02):
off. I'm actually gonna give thisthe D and D. Okay, all
right, let's hear it. Notby much, but I really enjoyed the
Okay, we're just making this shipup as we go along like that the
what what was the stick called thepool stick? Hither they whether they stick
(32:27):
or something like that, hitherto withthe two stick or something like that.
It was just like, Okay, this feels like if I was playing a
game of Dungeons and Dragons and someonejust pulled out like a hey, I've
got this spell to cast just outknow when you're like, huh, okay,
that feels like something that would happenif we were playing this game.
(32:49):
That's that's a great point. AndI was like, that actually kind of
sticks to more of what this issupposed to be. Because we've had all
these video game adaptations, right, and a lot of them haven't seemed to
work for the most part, right, we haven't seen many board game adaptations,
(33:10):
and this felt to me like Iwas watching a group of people play
D and D. But on thescreen, that's a fair point. That's
a fair point. Add to that, I love the the crisp Pine being
the scoundrel but also sticking it tothe star Wars of it. Or he's
(33:32):
the scoundrel with a code. He'sHan Solo. Yeah, I can like
he gets pulled back into like obviouslyhe doesn't become a Harper again, but
it's the you know, he getspulled back into it. It's hann So
again, you know, pulled backinto the rebellion. Okay, Okay.
He tries to push away and he'slike, no, no, no,
(33:53):
this is this is all for me. This is all for me. When
the chips are down and he's gotto, you know, think of other
ep he does. He is thatkind of guy d down. That's fair.
That is fair man. All right, we got one for one for
D and D charity. What areyou gonna say about the story two for
D N D D. Yeah,this is the two for D n D.
(34:16):
This This was very close, verytough category. But to me,
well, I think both are onpar with with kind of with the mission
that they go to, it's verylike video game like the pretty much go
through levels to get a thing toget the other thing to get to the
(34:36):
final thing to save the world.Pretty much so very similar. We get
the backstories again for all of thecharacters, but D and D did something
with the story, and I'm goingto kind of go on the side of
the atmosphere as well, because Ithink Dungeons and Dragons had this eighties Willow
Wesk and venture feel to it.The epic landscape sort of felt campy but
(35:01):
kind of familiar, which I definitelywant showed up. I would not have
been surprised. Oh, he wouldhave been a perfect fit. A but
and another reason why I'm giving intoD n D is I think the heist
when they're going to the arena isreally fucking smart. Like the way they
(35:21):
put the hitherto do whatever the thingis called on a freaking uh on a
painting and they put it on thewagon and they smuggle it in. I
mean, that's that's actually like reallysmart right there. Yeah, it's really
smart. And the stick thing kindof reminded me another item, Helm of
(35:44):
Dysfunction or this this junction or somethingcalled. So yeah, I think because
of the cleverness and the eighties feelof it, I'm going with Dungeon and
Dragons. Damn, damn. Ithought I had this it up in my
head, but I you're making merethink. I'm not gonna lie. You're
definitely making me rethink. I hadinitially had this as Guardians, the reason
(36:07):
being I thought that Guardians felt morereal, to a degree, not real
than the right word, I guess. I felt more the emotions felt little
more real, like consistently grounded alittle bit better. It's just funny you
say that about Gardens Gley. Itis, but it does have more of
a grounded feel comparatively speaking. Let'ssee, I think do have. I
(36:30):
mean, Chris Pine and and MichelleArdriguez do have some very grounded moments,
though obviously towards the end, especiallywhen Chris Pine makes his little sacrifice,
his big sacrifice so to speak, with the whole stories going after trying to
get his wife back, and thenhe chooses to save Michelle at the end.
Spoiler alert for your watch. Thisis a trig jerking moment, but
I feel like that happens for themand the other characters are kind of like
(36:52):
given the oh hum, we're notgonna do much with whereas Guardian's kind of
like I felt like we got moreout of the whole team story wise for
every I feel like it was morefair that we had a complete story for
every member of the team, andit had this moment of the team getting
together, becoming the Garden of theGalaxy. That's always a solid trope having
it is a group of characters cometogether, learn about them, Nobody have
(37:15):
being a weak link in terms ofstory wise, storyline goes, nobody is
a second thought. They all havetheir important moments at the end, they
come together and form a badass teamwith the moment. Considering the tears that
you get from Chris Pratt beginning towhere we are now, I'm still going
to give the edge to Guardians justto Spends. The eighties vibe did almost
tell me because it does have thatbeautiful ladies vibe. But I do like
(37:37):
I played D and D myself,so those those damn name for the different
things exactly would have come out ofmy come out of my playbook. I
have good Dame these things this way. I think I mentioned this at one
point, maybe during Holy Stop.So I used to play a Star Wars
version of Dungeon Dragons. The StarWars role playing game in similar situation.
And I was a Han solo LAcharacter and my DM had a bounty hunter
chasing me. His cac my bountyhunter, My arch nemesis was Bob the
(38:00):
Feet, not to it was Bobthe Feet, not to be confused with
his cousin, Boba Fett. Hewas a less He was a less successful
bounty hunter, just like I wasa less successful solo. If you go
to celebration in Japan, I needyou to cause players Bob the Feet.
(38:22):
I'll have to talk to my friendMatt, Matt Stanley, who was my
d M back in the there hecreated the character. I'll tolet's find out
exactly what he looked like again. But absolutely, uh but yeah, that's
exactly what it is. I lovethat about the indeed, it does stay
true to that kind of field, that kind of vibe overall, the slight
edge. She guards the galaxy. So there we are there, Yes,
(38:46):
Bob the Feet. Next up wehave better music better I know, I
start the Lost Cagy, but canI start this one? Sure? Guardians
hands down. So because mood Ageday Dream by David Bowie. End of
discussion. All right, I'll youknow this is gonna be short talk.
(39:07):
I think I'm gonna add on realquick. You can market off market down
like I don't know what like,I don't remember GA and D's music,
if you be honestly comparatively speaking,I mean they had the one song with
them, which is kind of cool. But comparatively I mean James Gunn is
a master at the needle drop himand Zach Braffitt probably my one and to
Carot they have it. They curatethese songs specifically for these movies. The
(39:29):
only thing I ever had a problemwith James gun is with the Gardens of
course, three Guardens of the Galaxymovies. He couldn't give me one queen
song in there somewhere. He couldn'tgive me one queen song. That's the
only that's the only regret I have. But otherwise he just hits no perfect.
He makes music that like I evenhate to say, like that's the
music doesn't matter. But there's songsthat I wouldn't even think of, and
they get meaning when you play itwith the with the movie, and that's
(39:52):
a them mountain higher, Oh mygod, so beautiful. Let me tell
you this is I know we're talkingabout gardians one. I'll say it though,
this one, like I've never ahuge I'm a little older, so
I'm not the paramore guy that would. Paramork came a little bit after me.
They were like a little bit aftermy time. But like I loved
Doug Afternoon like now, like holyshit, like that hit me a holy
way after watching Guardians, Right,So yeah, that's exactly what this is.
(40:15):
This is what gun does. SoI am also going to go for
Guardians and that's jarvi or you're agreeingwith us. It seemed like on one
percent, and what Guardians to thosesongs is also pretty impressive because they're all
they're all big hits from their time. But now when I listen to any
one of these songs, I immediatelythink of Guardians, even though they are
(40:36):
like epic songs, right, evenMichael Jackson's was it I Want You Back?
Like if that comes on first thing, grout dancing pops in my head,
Like these songs are legendary. BardGuardians has put its stamp on all
of these songs. And to addon top of that, Tyler Bates' score
(40:57):
is really fucking good in that way, like he's just it is an avengerous
level theme that's in that movie.I love it. I want a score
done by Trent Reznor and Tyler Batesso fucking bad because obviously Tyler Bates is
known for working with Marilyn Manson, obviously Trent from Managed Nails. But the
(41:19):
thing that I love so much aboutGuardians is like all three of us grew
up in an era where movies wouldhave soundtracks with songs on them, right,
and I feel like that kind ofwent away for a little bit and
then Guardians brought it back. Greedagreed, like Guardians made needle drops cool
again. I love scoring. I'ma big score guy, but I like
(41:42):
when you have eagle drops and sometimesthey can be so memorable. But human
rapsody and wings roll, the wholeCrows soundtrack, those moments Like Kingsman did
it a little bit too when theybrought uh Leonard Skinner to the church sequence.
That kind of thing that those kindof moments mattered. There's a great
way, and Guardians has done thatfor three movies and just been like so
spot on. It's like it's veryIt's much more difficult than you think it
is. Just you got to pickthe right song, put it the right
(42:05):
way. Have the characters interact withit the right way or whatever. It's
not as easy as it looks, but he's he is a master at it,
and yes it is Jackson five.I apologize Michael Jackson doesn't know Michael
Jackson. What does he? Jacksonalways but like most of my early music
taste came from Tony Hawk's post Gatesoundtracks and two thousand's teen movie soundtracks like
(42:31):
American Deep Speed is another one, like like American pie Van Wilde, like
not another teen movie. Like allI imagine is like some kid hearing a
song from one of the Guardians moviesand be like, Oh, that's cool.
I want to go back and Iwant to like go find that on
Spotify and add it to a playlist. I'm just absolute there needs to be
(42:53):
more of that zoom playlist speak. But Dungeons and Dragons didn't have a bad
score at all. It fit tothe movie very well. I just can't
remember anything about it, which isnot necessarily a bad thing. It wasn't
a bad score, but just yeah, right, so it is because we
(43:15):
didn't mention dungeons at all. Itwas a good fantasy score. Yeah,
absolutely just gets overshadowed by gardens ina major way and don't putting anything up
against David Bowie. So you're probablygonna lose. That's very true to you
anytime. But Bowie's mentioned like,I mean, Bowie's just my second,
like he's right up there with Queenfor me. So but Bowie in there
(43:37):
and I'm good, I'm good togo. So all right, we're on
our final category as we'll just makemaybe this might be the deciding factor here,
and what a deciding factor it is. Maddy Gunner picked this category when
we're kind of hamming a han betweenwhich one are we gonna do? Are
we gonna be a fifth category? You mentioned I think action At one point
we mentioned better everyone shows me havesome other ideas, but then we had
(43:58):
like the start of a start afranchise world building I think was in their
Lord Buildings world building, Lai Birdand Magical goes. No, it's just
a humor. Let's see which onesmakes us laugh more, it makes it
makes sense, let's end with somelaughs. And plus as I said,
like we don't know how the Dand D movie Versus is gonna go,
we kind of we know how Guardiansgoes and how Guardians end so it's kind
(44:22):
of easier to look at the worldbuilding and what Guardians becomes, whereas D
and D it's kind of harder becausewe don't know. So right, let's
end with some laughs before we did, though, I got dumb because we
want to chat here acting Robert lovedomb that's good, dude. Was there
a song on the Guardians movies youdidn't use that you wish they had,
like space it's love song that's coveredyou? You answered that one? I
(44:44):
did kind I just say Queen's whichsong? That's what I'm gonna say,
which one I want to see us? I probably mean I don't want.
Part of me wants to go deepercut like my initially like you wander pressure
because it's Queen and Voey together.I love that. I think they could
make that work, but I wantto go a little more a deep cut.
I still don't mean dancy. Ithink I'm gonna do something like a
dragon attack or something like that. They could use it kind of a funky
(45:07):
battle and things like that, oryou go a little more campy your style,
maybe have them covering through something likea killer Queen, something in the
background like at a crazy bar orsomething I think that could be well played
as well. But I'm gonna gowith Queen Sound either way. So the
Christmas Special would have worked with theChristmas album. That's true. That's very
(45:27):
true. That's very true. Youknow what one I'd go with? What
was that Billy Idols? You spinme right around? Oh, that would
work. That would absolutely work aspart of it. Absolutely would work.
Absolutely could I could see that inany one of those and anything you would
love it. Kelly w their bicyclerace, that's another go actually would very
(45:49):
well. That's Grace could be verywell there. Well, maybe something if
I'm going like super low cut,if I'm going to super deep cut,
maybe something by like Adamman because solet me be kind of cool. Let
the dogs out? Who let thedogs out? Because your dog was part?
I like that, Uh, DuranDuran earlier and Duran can be kind
of like hungry, like the wolfkind of thing. Because boys, wild
(46:12):
boys, wild boys. Yeah,I like that. A lot of things
we could do that way. Youcould do a lot of eaties like synth
artists could be used very well inthat case. I think, so I'd
go with a lot of those. That'd be good. James Gunn would go
to Russian Ulett by Lord to thenew Church. That's right, because that
he did try to get them butcouldn't get the legalish. I remember reading
about that. Actually I didn't readingwith that. He was very upset about
that. But all right, uhare you anny go to better humor?
(46:36):
Then let's do it? All right, go ahead, Jarbi whyn't you leave
this one off? Different kinds ofhumor and in these movies. I think
Dungeons has a more campy and simplehumor that was really well placed work well
with the movie. I love thefreaking grave scene when they resurrected the corps
(46:58):
asked the five questions, fucked itup the first few times, I mean
just hilarious, and the way theyended on it. But Guardians has James
Gunn James Gunn type of humor.I mean, it's not just ha ha
funny. It gets dark, itgets weird, it gets quirky, and
I love that his humor, likethe joke comes back, it gets paid
(47:22):
off at some point, like hestarts something and it gets like the way
Peter Quill started calling himself star Lord. None of the people called him star
lord. Eventually Corath comes like starLord and he's fine eye. Such a
perfect joke, such a perfect moment. I think it's easily Gardens, even
(47:45):
though I laughed so much a Dungeons, it's the James Gun humor that just
takes it away. All right,So we got a little bit one for
Guardians of the Galaxy, Maddie,my friend, what about you? Mine
is definitely Guardians solely mostly off theback of Dave Batista as Drax. You
(48:08):
look at Dave Batista like the hell, what a hell of an actor?
Like he's turned into mm they notonly can he like be big imposing,
like do all the action stuff. He's got really good dramatic drops, but
like saying stupid lines like don't evercall me a posaurus. I don't even
(48:30):
know what that means. But it'shilarious as shit, and just how like
beautifully dumb Drax is. It's justthere's a certain charm to it that you
just can't ignore. So I'm I'mgoing with Guardians solely based off of Dave
Patista. All right, all right, it's sounds to myself. Then the
(48:52):
first reefers wants to know what's everyone'sintroduction to d and d Mine was watching
the Saturday Morning cartoon. I didn'tknow it was a game until I was
in high school. I mean,I had had a board game, per
se. I said, it's reallyI mean, I guess it's I understand
that though. As for me,I did love The Morning Charts Satay Morning
Cards. I love that one quitea bit. But I was actually produced
(49:14):
very young. To the books,uh to dragon Lance. I love that
I actually played for my very Iwas playing at a younger age, like
I have friends who always wanted toplay necessarily Dungeon Dragons, but role playing
games in general. I guess atStar Wars or stuff like that. I
was so I got introduced one wasright away. And I was an actor
growing up. I loved being anactress, so this was like acting to
me. I got to play apart, a career character. Then play
(49:36):
a part was basically part of whatI did. And then I got to
play like a guardian or like adwarf guardian who drank like that just my
alley. I loved it. Iwant to hear about those characters. Actually
had a great my later years.I was like nineteen twenty, I had
a character, Dwarf character called StoutGuinness how his name just drank a lot
and he had two Elvin had twoElvin Lady of Valet. He was like
(50:00):
sat with him and I had justlike one time where my friend like started
trying to like like I got this, I'm this badass mother and I could
do all this stuff. I gothis powers, and he's like trying to
like show how powerful it was usgetting spells. So I had my characters
go, yeah, get your characterthrough this, and these two girls sat
in my lap where I go,he walked away. It was like one
(50:22):
of those that kind of funny Igo to a movie stead I think it
was mistogynist as well. I'm notgonna lie, but it was funny.
It was just kind of those funnymoments at the time. Here I am
with my D and D stories.So that's how I got introduced a D
and D. How about you, guys, I did not know about Dungeons
and Drag. I've heard the name, but my actual like introduction of what
it was all about. And I'mnot embarrassed to say I think stranger things.
(50:45):
Okay, that's I seriously had noconnection to the game before. That's
fair. That's a lot of peoplea lot of people got introduced D and
D through that. I think that'sone of the wonderful things about Stranger Things.
I love Stranger Things, by theway, I came in for season
five and all all in on that, Mattie. How about you a couple
of them, Like my old roommatesused to play, and I would kind
(51:06):
of just get drunk and watch themand like a lot of their characters and
like the stories they were telling inthe NERD while I have Style Wars posters
in my but yeah, again,I've never played. I'm talking to our
(51:27):
friends show usel in a while agoabout like maybe him helping me set up
a character and like maybe playing agame someday. But I think I do.
From from what I've heard, Iwould. But from what I've heard,
takes a lot of work. Itcan't be well. D ming is
a lot of work. More thanthe the introducing the character. Creating character
can take a while. Sometimes youjust got to get into deep dives of
(51:49):
your character and all the different powersand skills and all that stuff. That
can take a while. But onceyou do that, the players just have
fun. So a DM that hasa lot of the work to do creating
the story and like, I gottatell you, I tried to do me
ones and I hate that because Icould do it well because like my your
players will never do what you wantthem to or what you think they're supposed
to do, and like you're kindof like, well, now I got
to fucking like think on the flyand create a whole new aspect of the
(52:12):
story that I had to like, never, go, you write this whole
story and you don't use any ofit because it's not because they didn't do
something like I could do the wholething over, but it's funny me dms,
I'm good at the ones you canslide into. Yeah, that's what
I was waiting for one of y'allto do. That shows another thing that
we forgot to talk about that Iwanted to mention when it came to the
(52:34):
story mission part is like I wasthinking, like the way when Edskin and
Michelle Rodriguez like holda, we're likefighting the bad guys or doing something that
felt really hard to do. Itwas almost like they had rolled and Imaginary
Dice always absolutely had the like gotthe successful outcome. Like I was thinking
(52:55):
about it, like, are theygonna like mention it at some point kind
of connect to the game that ohmy god, this worked out or this
failed right, but but still Idon't know. I'd have that subtext to
oh if you if you played Dand D like I did. I honestly
watching the house, I watched theroll of the dice in my head like,
Okay, they're rolling for this, now they're rolling for the ship.
(53:15):
They did that, so they weresuccessful, because that's how the movie need
to go. But they found acouple of times. Is that like the
moment where she was like talking tohim about the axe and like the branding
on the axe, that's part ofit. That's them rolling the earlier.
That's her rolling for initiative there andtrying to see if she can sneak out
that. Yeah, absolutely as partof it. The ether thing's about a
roll after the roll, like Thatttime, you could roll to see if
(53:35):
you intimidate someone, if you flirtwith someone. You can roll to see
if your correct charismatic enough to seeif you can you know, win somebody
over. It's a lot of funthat way kind of do that role.
Of course, like the best partis when you roll one and the DM
gets to come up with a spectacularway you fail. Like if you're just
trying to like climb a ladder andyou roll one, you're like you not
only do you like this run completelyas you're going up the letder, but
(53:57):
you fall down, hit your crosslike hit your balls on the thirdest wrong
second wrong. They called it avery spectacular way, you think. And
sometimes you could like slap somebody ifyou were like a twenty. It's like
you slapped this guy so hard heflew across the room into a pile of
like shit. That the it somethinglike early, it's just tough. It
makes it for fun, for afun session. But all right, speaking
(54:19):
of humor, then got to laythey lay in on my take on the
humor. The better humor, Iwill say, quite frankly, the grave
sequence from Dungeon Dragons and Mike myfavorite sequence of all of both movies.
I think it was hilariously done.It was well made, and they just
had the timing down perfectly. Andyou're like, oh my god, because
you got a contention, like shutup, Chris, shut up, just
shut up. Stop stop. Withthat being said, d has some great
(54:44):
humor. I think Don Guardian Gallasonalso had much more consistent and well done
humor that kind of stay throughout.I like the tone better as far as
the humor went, Dune Dragon wasmore ridiculous humor, whereas Guardians more like
kind of almost commentating humor, althoughI will say speaking ridiculous. So my
favorite comedy from Guardion's The Galaxy isRockets dragging on everybody, Like when he's
(55:05):
on the planet the first time. He's like, we're calling me criminals,
and this guy walking around the haircutlike that, he's assaulting us with the
hair like that, come on,and this kid's watched this kid it's not
cool to help get learn to watchingfreaking garb boils. He's like, it's
just it's hilarious watching Rocket that work. Bradley Cooper had the time of his
fucking life of play both movies. He Is D and D as well.
(55:29):
It's true he actually is in Dand D. He is right now.
He's one of the US the fewcrossover at that point. But that's what
I'm saying. I'm giving it tothe O T. G as well,
which means we do have a winner. We didn't give her a snap judgment
beforehand, but I won't. Iwon't ask you to do it now if
we've been through it, it's Ithink they're coming for you now. You
(55:52):
need a public defender. I mightbe a public defender call back to anybody
who used to watch class Action backin the day. But who is our
winner? By a score? It'sactually pretty pretty firm winner by a score
of ten to five. Ten tofive, it is Guardians of the Galaxy.
Yeah fair, And that's exactly kindof what I thought was gonna be.
Guardians Galaxy is the first in atrilogy of film and the franchise that's
(56:15):
been the loved Dungeon Dragons kind ofthe plucky, young, upstart underdog from
the get go. I think, although the fact is that Dungeon Dragons put
up a good fight considering everything thatwas against them comparatively, and I hope
that's not the end of those characters. I hope we do get a sequel.
I hope you to get more intothat world, because I think they
had a lot of potential there todo really well. But that's next time.
(56:37):
This time, Guardians of the Galaxywins by TKO Almost you were talking
about sequels. Guardians three wrapped upthe story pretty well. And spoilers for
Guardians three. Now, who hasn'tseen it? Oh wait, no,
Mandy hasn't seen it for Are yousure? Yeah, go for it.
The well, the story wraps up, but at the end of the movie,
(57:00):
a like a text comes on Starrreturn. Yeah, so that could
mean anything. They kind of marketedthe movie as the final entry in the
Guardians films. Now, my questionto you is would you rather have another
Guardians or another Dungeons and Dragons, because Guardians did wrap up, Dungeons just
started. Well, here's the thingthat in the other the other post credits
(57:24):
scene was the formation of the newGuardians at this point, obviously there's a
new Guardians team technically speaking about buthe said star Ward but I'm getting yeah,
and then there so we have aGuardian scene. We have a star
Lord who's in return. He's notwith the Guardians anymore, which is kind
of weird interesting in another stuff inright, potentially if there is a next
door, we don't know what's goingon. That's the whole thing. We're
(57:45):
kind of in a crux now.And James Gunn isn't doing Guardians anymore.
Jas he's not even Marvel, He'sDC now. So that's why I'd be
more of a D and D guy, because having Guardians without James Gunn Yeah,
I don't like that idea at all. I really think of in this
same boy, I think D andD has more opportunity to expand, grow
(58:06):
and thrive, whereas Guardians, Ithink is going to come under a lot
of scrutiny the next one they go. I don't know who's in the next
Guardians. I don't really care atthis point. I think there is gonna
be a next Guardians film. Ithink there's a team that's going to be
there that they might use in likeThe Avengers or something that. But potentially
I could see them in the Avengers. I don't think Guardians is going to
be a movie. I don't think. I don't think I could be wrong.
(58:28):
That's fine, that's a good point. Actually, that's how they could
return star Lord and not continue that, and that's about just bring it back.
In Secret Wars and the Kan Dynasty, I think you might see Chris
think he might see Starlard joining theAvengers. And here's why. The reason
why you do that, honestly isbecause quite frankly, I think Marvel is
in a little bit of a panicstate right now, A little bit minor
panic in terms of there's kind ofa divide. We have the old school
(58:50):
Marvel, which is infallible for everybody. It wasn't. It wasn't by the
way, it was not infallible.Marvel is not, but one of the
criticisms there are now we have noof those old stalwart guys left. There's
no more Chris, no more Robertdown and Jr. No more. I
mean, Thora is probably not Americaas America's gone, Iron Man's gone,
and you have Hulk. Kind oflike all these characters gone, who's left
(59:13):
in the Avengers Now, who's who'sour Avengers team? I mean, you
got Spider Man's probably there. AndMak is not really an a less kind
of guy. I mean even Samis not an a less kind of guy.
You can't you got Hulk still there, I guess kind of thing.
But he can't be in a standalonemovie. Hulk can only be contraction.
We can only be in now fornow that could actually change it something I
(59:34):
feel like me they try to use. But anyway. Spider Man similarly is
like they're not in their character, but he's one of the main stand bys
as well. So I think ChrisPratt is one of those guys that can
kind of go, well, He'snot quite Captain America, Iron Man or
anything like that, but he doeshave that kind of like old school Marvel
feel to him because he was liketwenty fourteen Guards the Galaxy or twenty fourteen.
So I can see that being theway. Let's put him on the
(59:57):
Avengers as a as one of ourold standbys kind of plays. I hate
to bring it up, but they'regonna have to recast their main villain pretty
soon. Yes, that's gonna that'sthat's an interesting topic. They're gonna have
to clutch its straws to be like, Okay, what can who can we
bring in to curry as much favorwith the fans as possible? Ed Harris
(01:00:21):
such a It's such a shame becausemajors as an artist, as an actor.
You freaking jump started with do youthink you think Ed Harris could play
Kang? Give me a great can? But he won't be. He's he's
gonna be in the wonder Man TVseries. So is he really? Yeah?
He is? No, No,I think we talked about it.
(01:00:45):
I mean we're getting Harrison Ford andInvasion. Yeah, yeah, he's gonna
be the next one. He's ina bunch of them nosed and Thunderbolts as
well. That's the part ed Hurstactually should have played. I love Harrison
for, but that's the part hewas born to play. Day I love
Harrison for. He's prob my onefavorite actress. But this role is much
more hair at Harris than it doesHarrison Forth. Hey, Maddie, let's
do when Pod is not here.Let's do it Harris versus Harrison Ford.
(01:01:08):
You of a bit. We couldeven call it class action The Harristons.
Well, you can't call actually havea show called the Harristons coman, you
can't actually use that title. No, no, no, But we're on
this channel. I mean I willstrike you down, I will priumatize that,
(01:01:29):
and I will I will become morepowerful than you can possibly imagine.
Well, and you walked into thewrong goddamn video room. Maybe that's gonna
happen. We'll see, we'll havea conversation backstage, I'm sure. But
that's it for this week, folks. Thank you so much for second Round
and hanging out with us for thisweek. We'll be back two weeks from
now. Actually, we're gonna haveback to back class actions two weeks from
(01:01:51):
now. Two weeks from now,and then a week after that, while
I'm in California, these two willprobably be doing Harris versus Harrison God,
damn it, that would be cool. That actually, like all your looking
aside, I think it would bea cool matchup. That's kind of cool.
Bag. I can't see how, honestly speaking, and this is gonna
sound bad, I can't see howyou guys ever pick out Harris over Harrison
Ford in a lot of these things, because he's just more more of the
he's more of the a less guy. That's Harrison Ford's rule a. Harris
(01:02:13):
has never been the a less guy. That's a different story. I don't
want to put it. I wouldhonestly want to put ed Harris up against
somebody like a like somebody who's inthat kind of like Henry Cavill loses,
but like a brief Harrison Ford madesome choices. Oh that's true too,
that's true. But what I wassaying, actually I also make I don't
want to go too deep, areleaving, But what I've meant about the
(01:02:35):
thunder both roles Harrison Ford is moreof a good guy. I like Harrison
Ford is a good guy. Idon't like Harrison Ford is the bad guy.
That's what Thunderbolt Ross really kind ofis the kind of more of a
bad guy, which I don't likethat. So, uh, that's why
Harris is the bad guys. Okay, all right, that's that's in the
future. We're talking about what whatare we doing for that for the next
episode. We believe we're doing whatMaddy Kurrn suggested. Patron Matty Kurrn suggests
(01:02:57):
wanted to Escape from New York versusmad Max, son of which which inferior
oad No, the original, Oh, I haven't seen either of the Well,
I've seen Mad Max like age yearsago, but I haven't seen Escape
from New York. I'm going togo from the originals against each other,
the original big time apocalyptic movie.Shock. You have not seen Escape from
New York. I have pretty surprisinggaps. It is a phenomenal movie.
(01:03:21):
I knew I knew he hadn't seen, which why I'm not so shocked inspite
the greatest video game character of allthe time and solid Snake. Mm hmmm,
it's a great film. Great bothof a great film. I mean,
obviously Jarvey got to go and knowingthere it's the eighties, so it's
it's the early eighties, so it'sdefinitely of its time. But it's a
phenomena of his work. I loveit so much, John Carpenter, So
(01:03:44):
I got it. I'm sorry,Christo, and I'm just gonna call you
out. He just DM me,Christo, DM me. Pld's love for
d Harris is ridiculous. He's thegreatest character actor of all. We get
it makes a bad movie good agood movie Gray and I'm a terrible movie.
(01:04:05):
Watchabook. That's all right, Idon't care. That's all right.
