We’re going straight for the deep end, swimming in those often avoided books of the Bible—the minor prophets. Kelly will be walking us through Malachi and Joel while Jimmy addresses some of the complex topics that come up in these passages, things like election, judgment, and wrath (charming, right?).
Don’t be scared! These books and topics are good for us! Paul assured us in 2 Timothy 3:16 that ALL scripture is profitable, not just the stuff that fits on coffee mugs. It benefits us to dig into the Word, even the uncomfortable parts. So join us as we navigate these waters and clear away the fog so that we can see God clearly.
In these 12 weeks, we’re going to:
• learn about prophetic literature in the Bible and why it’s important to study and understand
• dig deep into Malachi and Joel and see how they point to Jesus
• look at parts of God’s character we tend to avoid and see that he’s more lovely than we ever knew
• bring clarity to complex Biblical topics like election, wrath, and judgment
• address the problem of pornography and a real path for victory
So let’s dive deep into our Bibles and see what we find. This season will challenge you, confront you, and comfort you as you see the Savior with clearer eyes.
