Speaker 1 (00:11):
What is going on? Clippers fans, Welcome to season four,
Episode two. Let's call it maybe three of clips and Dip.
I am Chuck Mackler joined by Adam Oslin who has
a DIP, Will Appdike, who also has a DIP. We
are very we're more prepared this week. If you watched
us at YouTube dot complish at Clippers podcast last week,

(00:32):
it wasn't our best representation of what we do in
the off season, which is review dips because there's nothing
else happening. But I promise that we we came correct
this week.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
We're dropping the ball, talking too much ball right now.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Exactly exactly. That's not what the people are here for.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
No, it is the off season. We get a little
We were number ten on snack pods the other month
or something that Lucas Hahn showed us because of the
dip talk party starters. We're gonna talk the three games
of the Summer League that the Clippers have had, which
is seems some good and some bad. There's no Bradley
Beal news yet.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Good and bad.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
We're undefeated.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Baby, Let's actually get into it.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Will Banner, Will hang the Banner Summer League?

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, how are you feeling after these three games the
Summer League. Yeah, how how hyped have you been on
these late stud Dude?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
You know how I feel, You know how I feel.
Summer League trophy is the thinking man's LARRYO b Okay,
that's the future. That's the future of the league. It's
the only one that actually matters. So with the Clippers
a mere game away from their semi their potential semi

(01:46):
final seating, I'm feeling great, feeling great.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
What's the point in afferential situation? Are we?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
It depends on the tiebreaker situation. It's it's very convoluted. Obviously,
it goes to record, and then I believe it's points
above opponent or average win average win margin. Oh, then
it goes to total points. I believe scored. I believe
that is the situation. If it's a two tiebreaker, I

(02:14):
think it might get a little bit more convoluted.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
If it's three or more teams, I think three or
more teams, it's a sacric currently currently yes.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
So speaking of the Clippers, currently they're plus nine in
point differential, but.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I believe they're currently I want to say, third or
four than the standings because there's a few teams that
are also at three.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
And now I have a lot riding on the Clippers
winning Summer League. And by a lot, I mean seventy
five thousand dollars, so a lot, so a lot. How
are we? I kind of I put in the breakdown risers,
followers and other stuff. I think the one riser we

(02:58):
should talk about who's only played one game. Kobe Brown
looked great in the one game that he was able
to play. He looked like he was supposed to look like.
I should say, which was head and shoulders better than
everyone else on the Summer Think.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Before Yeah, I said, like when the report came out
from law initially I who could be on the Summer
League and he had Jordan Kobe on there. I think
I retweeted and said, if they're going to Summer League
again this year, then the Clippers should probably win Summer League,
like with them being a top fourteen last year, those
guys being even more seasoned, and Kobe did look the part.

(03:32):
He looked really good in that game one and just
I think twenty minutes for I guess the ankle injury.
I didn't pick up on the injury till later. I
didn't hear anything about it. Yeah, I just thought he
was cooking so easily that they took him out because
what he had fourteen points in those twenty minutes. I
mean he hit a nice elbow jumper too. Wasn't just

(03:52):
like threes and stuff with the brim. He looked confident
and this.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Is shuffling his feet on defense better than what I
thought we saw last year. Not saying it was elite,
but I was like, Okay, a little more mobility here
for Kobe on the perimeter.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yeah, a lot of pressure on him to show out.
He did. It's unfortunate that he got hurt. Other guys
bigger opportunities we'll talk about because of that coming up.
But yeah, I thought he looked really good against the Rockets.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Will have you ordered the Kobe Brown jersey again?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
But I got it as number thirty two? You know why? Why?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Dude, man, he would be villainized if that happened.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Neither like Kobe Bryant Megazord or something like the numbers.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Exactly, Yannix athleticism. We're gonna talk how he looks kind
of uh. On the other end, Huge Duncan Game three,
If you missed it, go watch it.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
It looks good is bad. There's a verticant going on.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
There, and as Adam point out on Twitter, he got
the ball at like half court. The handle is the
other part of Yanny's game that I would say I'm
a little surprised by in terms of how comfortable it looks.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah. I set after Game one, even though he missed
a couple of bunnies at the rim, I didn't care,
Like that's that's the least difficult part. I'm not worried
about that. But him being able to bring it into
the front court and transition the way he was able
to in a couple of plays in game one, I
was like, this is special. Game three out there. Yeah,

(05:32):
Game three, he put it all together. He brought it
into the front court and he finished this time in
explosive fashion. That was really impressive, that dump, the way
he cocked it back. I think a lot of people
have come around very quickly about his athleticism and what
the Clippers vision is of him.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I also like that he said he had to go
Conan the Barbarian on him. It's a great reference. So
he his stock is up in.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah. People were excited about the screens he set, which
I tweeted that, you know, Summer League of Summer League.
It is difficult for centers in Summer League compared to
other positions just with how things go offensively. But I
think setting good screens in Summer League is a nice
thing to kind of hang your hat on if you're

(06:22):
hoping for good development from a player.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Not just Summer League though. If you really want to develop,
you need to be setting screens in your everyday life
and every single possibility when you're in public, you should
be setting at least three to five screens.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Dude, setting a blind side screen or like a crosswalk
or something. But that, like, I practiced it every day.
My screens are the league, no other part of my game.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, did you guys ever play that game in high
school where you're walking near like some hedges and somebody
sails bush and pushes a guy into it. Yeah, that's
the type of shit we eat.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
That aside, childish games aside. But if you do end
up playing, let us know if you set an these
screens in public, that's a nice building block for you
on it. Going into his first pro season, someone who
knows how to set a good screen, we've seen he's
obviously not the backup with Brook Lopez here, but we've
had a handful of third string centers who aren't good
at setting screens, and I like that he has the athleticism,

(07:20):
he knows how to use his body like he plays
like the biggest guy out there well and not in rebounding.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
It's kind of interesting because it depends on how you
look at the current guard core for the Clippers versus
what it could be. But if what we think is
going to happen in terms of a free agency for
the Clippers guard roster, if you know how to set
a good screen, there's going to be some opportunities for
you out there.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
He does have to get better, as Adam pointed out,
at rebounding and catching passes. I know it's early in
his career, but I'll do it.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
He's going to be taking the book. What is it?
What does he need to catch passes for?

Speaker 1 (08:03):
He's just got to catch the right and then it's
just the right sense. But Adam, I did like your
comment kind of about the rebounding a little bit.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I thought even in Game one where he had ten,
it wasn't indicative of him getting good rebounds to where
he had to really compete for them. They just went
right to him. There was nobody else there and there
were still no you're right. I mean, that's the Dennis
Rodman Last Dance gift where he's like pointing like this
because he had a bunch of his friends come and

(08:35):
just put up bricks and so he could figure out
the physics is where the ball is going. Uh, he
just isn't that instinctual with it. It looks like so
far am I that concern? No, But this is something
that was one of the knocks on him in college too,
so obviously clearly has to get better. And even like
some of the screens have been really good, some bone

(08:56):
crushing screens, he's also had one like early in the
game last night, he had to reset a screen twice
and they were both bad for Xavior Simpson at the
very beginning, but then later on he had a really
good screen. It's all just young player, probably some nerves
out there, some of this stuff. I'm sure at his
best he can do much better than he has shown
when he's right and just the game is moving so

(09:18):
fast for him and that will come.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah, I mean, I hope, especially with this rebounding stuff,
some of this stuff is just like excitement and jitters.
I guess it's been a nagging sort of thing in
his career, but you would hope that he would hope
that the instincts are a little bit better.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
He's twenty three, He's got time.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
All the time in the world. Man, how old is Lebron?
You can play in this sleep forever.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
That's a good point, guys. Forty one this year he
might be his teammate, Just kidding, Lebron.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
The Dallas Maverick cam Christie's downhill aggression has been awesome
to I think it was the lot of the Jam
the pod who tweeted this and they were like, remember
last year when we like, I think he had five
attempts at the RAM the entire Summer League last year.
Now it's very much a point of emphasis and it

(10:12):
looks like he's added some size to get into the paint.
But I've been really excited about cam Christie's offensive aggression
through these three games.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, this seems like a point of emphasis, kind of like,
who are we talking about last week, Adam? Was it
Daveion Mitchell who you were saying, like in summer league
advanced specific things they were going after to try to
get him to develop, and this feels very much like,
you know, they were content with the outside game and
that's sort of what they were doing, what he was
comfortable with last year, and this year they're trying to
diversify a little bit of that skill set.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah. I sometimes you wonder when a guy that young
is emphasizing improvement in one skill that like he's losing
something somewhere else. But I haven't really seen that with Cam.
He shot the three really well in game two and
the downhill attack looks fantastic. I mean, he had that

(11:09):
euro step last night that he got the easy floater on.
He looks like a different player with going to the basket.
There's just so much confidence there. The footwork is really
good in his handle for his size. They list him
at six six I think, but it is a really
tight handle. He looks I said this the other day,
but he looks like how an NBA player should at

(11:32):
that level. Like he everything with him, it looks like
an NBA player. It all just needs to be refined.
That's it. He's doing the right thing. It just needs
to be more consistent with everything. I kind of compared
it to Jordan Miller where he has stuff that well,
it can work at lower levels, can it work at
the NBA level?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
I think with Christy too. It's also he turns twenty
in nine days, so that's great for the Clippers. The
Dad Hillogress twenty years less. I want we know he
can just shooting ideas there. He did only shoot thirty
two percent from three in G League last year, so

(12:16):
I guess for this season, just kind of do the
same thing. He took like eight threes a game, so
keep that same shot, diet. I'm sure they're going to
go in now that he has another year under his
belt and add some of this downhill stuff while looking
comparable on defense or a little quicker like it's good
development for a currently nineteen year old.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, Lenny, he could be special. He really could. Like
he could be you look at his brother and Lakers fans.
It was funny after he gets trade, as happy as
they were forgetting Luco. Of course there it wasn't a
d leaving that hurt them as much. It seemed like
it was Max Christie leaving because that's exactly the type

(13:01):
of guy they could really use now. Actually he can
play some point of attack defense, that's the other part
of Cam Christie's game in Summer League that is really shined.
He's picking guys up ninety four feet, He's closing out
really well on the perimeter. He said that that's something
he's really working on and wants to show the coaches.
So these type of guys, these are connectors. It's a

(13:22):
batomb type where if you could turn into a player
who's just always a positive out there, regardless if you're
getting shots up, can Cam Christy turn into a type
of role player like that eventually and then maybe with
his offense and his beautiful shooting stroke because that gets
better with him knocking him down in G League this year, Like,
I don't know, he's a really interesting player. I like
to pick. When they did it last year, a lot

(13:43):
of that was biased because of his brother, But then
you looked at the highlights, it's like, oh, he trains
with his brother all the time. He looks like his
brother and Max Kirsty's a pretty good player, but he
puts on the size. He's playing better defense. Now there's
just like a level of professionalism that you can tell
is out there with how much he's developed already.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yes, shout out to Cam Christy Trenton Flowers. I put
on here showing that he has the tools, just sometimes
they don't really work right. I thought his defense was
It's true, like the athleticism is insane. He can just
go make something happen, kind of which is great. The

(14:23):
defense was good in game three. It's just sometimes, you know,
it's another like, I think he looks better than last
year's Summer League, but I'm excited to see what he
does in the league because it looks like he can develop.
He's always in the right spot for rebounds, which I
like he always this Summer League specifically, it's kind of like,
oh shit, there's Trenton Flowers grabbing on their board amongst

(14:43):
the crowd. But you know, I don't think he's I
don't think he's ahead of Christie right now though, But
I like his three games.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, his defense was really good last night. His shot
he struggled with that. The one thing that I keep
looking at is his hand. He's lost the ball a
couple of different times when he tries to shake a defender.
It seems like he can go in a straight line
and play off ball, catch it and go really quickly.
But if he's got to maneuver much. The handle gets

(15:13):
too loose and he's what, let's say six eight or six'.
Nine the idea was him coming out was he was
going to be a point, guard and then he got
that position taken away with thirty six ers In australia
and then was playing like small. Forward SO i don't
know if the handle is tight enough to do WHAT

(15:34):
i guess the ultimate dream was With Trenton, flowers initially
to handle the rock. War but his defense has been really.
Good he's been playing really. Hard game two was awesome from.
HIM i think he might have had fifteen, points big.
Throwdown there's lots like.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Now we're Talking, Follers, well are you underwhelmed By Jordan
miller's summer? League AM i crazy to be underwhelmed By
Jordan miller's league so? Far?

Speaker 3 (16:02):
YEAH i think that's fair for a guy who is
like fighting for a roster, spot you would hope to see.
More but that doesn't, like that doesn't make his position any.
Easier AND i still think, again looking at like what
we assume some of the free agent acquisitions are going
to be his path towards playing. Time it is so

(16:25):
difficult on this, team you, know despite how excited we
were last year about.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
IT i Just.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
I'm just not seeing, it AND i think that he's
kind of in A i think that he's in a
bit of a lose lose situation insofar, as, like even
even if he had a better, SHOWING i just don't
think that it's bolstering his standing that much in terms
of any sort of actual playing. TIME i think that
he's further behind some other players that we've mentioned so.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Far, adam your, thoughts excuse, me your thoughts On Jordan
miller's three games not like?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Terrible, YEAH i can see how one could feel like,
that because last Year's Summer league was. Ridiculous for he
averaged twenty five per. Game he's averaged in twenty per
game right, NOW i. Think but he also shot like
sixty percent from three in last Year's Summer league on
four tenths per. Game, obviously it wasn't. Sustainable it didn't

(17:21):
translate to THE G, league even though he didn't play
as many games, there, like it didn't translate to THE nba.
Unfortunately in, fact he just stopped taking them at one.
Point it just seemed like he lost his confidence after
a couple of good games early, on but there's so
much pressure on him to showcase for The clippers and
anybody else at this point That i'm desperately rooting for,

(17:43):
him and he hasn't been. BAD i just keep seeing.
HIM i just wonder where the counter. Is because as
much as we talked about him for like everybody did
for like the first two months of the, Season Jordan,
Miller Jordan, Miller Jordan miller coming up The Summer, league the,
preseason we were really excited about him and THE G

(18:04):
league he had the year. BEFORE i wonder if he
has fatal flaws WHERE i keep seeing him only go.
Left and that was sniffed out immediately in THE. Nba not,
immediately but after a couple of, weeks guys picked up on.
It they stopped. IT i Remember Russell westbrook ripping the
ball away from him Against, denver and then you shut that.
Down does he have a? Counter it doesn't seem like

(18:25):
you're right. Now i've been watching for this specifically so
far in The Summer, league And i'm still not seeing
him go. RIGHT i don't think he went right once
for a bucket last. Night and what do you? Have
nineteen he hit a clutch three he did get their
last three makes a ball game and kind of put
it away for. Them they weren't. Tough they were all
going left for him at, least like he's so good at.

(18:48):
That but you'd almost rather just have him be solid at,
both being able to go both. Directions so you're a
little less predictable out there because when you get to
the pros and you're playing at THE nba. LEVEL i don't.
KNOW i don't know if his his left east side
stepping deceleration thing is is Translating.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
History would dictate NO.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
U so, yeah It's Jalen brown does.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
It that's very.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
TRUE a much better athlete and a better. SHOOTER i
don't know in every.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Way, yeah he has one game to figure it. Out
we'll see what. HAPPENS i Put yannix comfortability on offense on,
Here BUT i like what you guys were talking about
with like the. JITTERS i think it was he looked
better on offense the third, Game AND i have a

(19:44):
feeling and by BETTER i just mean not as deer
in the Headlight. Seatson stats, wise, sure it's summer. League
philipowski just had thirty five and ten or. WHATEVER i
don't really care about summer league stats all that, much
BUT i think he will look more ifortable In game.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
FOUR a lot of, this, too is predicated upon whether
or not they're going to get him the. Basketball you,
KNOW i didn't think In game two they were looking
for him at. All it's kind of LIKE sia going
to get. Involved and then early In game, three in
the first, quarter you could see they kind of were
intent on getting him a few more touches and it.

(20:21):
Worked can't just be, honest having to run the show
himself and transition all the. Time you got to look
for your big. Man and there is something you, Know
Xavier simpson has been good for, them and that right
handed hook shot is fun to, watch but he's twenty.
Eight he's there, to you, know help facilitate the offense
and just keep them. Organized but he's likely not AN

(20:45):
nba player anymore or at this, point And yannick isn't
playing next, to you, know a true high level. Guard
and if you have, that what can that do for
his pick and?

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Roll things are? Easier, Yeah Will pulakitis is three games
Of Summer. League the man will let it. Fly, however
they're not. Landing what's the metaphor for making the shot

(21:18):
in terms of what do we just hope they go?
In pulakitis has been, bad, man it's been bumming me.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Out, look you know he's a smart. Guy it's gonna
take him some time to come around to. Develop the
upside is even as an older. Player he hasn't till the.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Ripe age of. FORTY i like that they're giving him a,
shot but like, man he does not LIKE i don't.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Know, yeah CAN i be honest, though, yes still better
than some of the guys that we heard The clippers
were working.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Out that's, fair Himm Or, Bhutan jokichen one on? One
who you Taking pullokitis all?

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Day?

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Adam do you think there's hope For poulokitis to get
A G league spot with The?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Clippers he hit his first three last. GAME i think
he's won for ten through three. Games game one he
was zero six from the. Outside he's obviously pressing some
of the shots that he was. Taking like he's just
and it's hard when you know you're getting ten, minutes
LIKE i have to show something in ten. Minutes it's
not as.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
A shooter like his archype is like, dude you got
to hit. Shots so it's.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Pressure. Man that's so, brutal because if he doesn't hit,
shots he's not going to be AN nba. Player this
is his. Skill he was forty percent At yale his
entire career on high. Volume he showed up in the
tournament last year Against TEXAS a AND M i'm rooting for.
Him we all. Were hilper's got him for a. REASON
i he just got to knock him. Down he just
got to get. Comfortable they got. Him the one he
hit was In ato to start the fourth quarter last,

(22:48):
night right away in the far side. Corner and so
maybe they'll run a few more actions his.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Way you know what they should, do as they should
purposely get a bunch of kickball violations on the other
team and then they can just run atos for poolakitis all. Day, DUDE.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I think. That you, know if coach lou was coaching
The Summer, league he would definitely have thought of.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
That you would, Go, wow great. Idea another great idea
for strategic idea From. Chuck we're gonna talk about the
announcers In game, three but the guy who took the
place Of Kobe, Brown Patrick, baldwin junior someone who we
WERE i think guy was second most, excited like on
the players to see second or first most excited to

(23:33):
see how he's. Looked who is that perimeter? Defense not
quite maybe what it needs to. Be, yeah you got everything.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Else even his shot WAS i, mean he put him,
up but what was he four seventeen or something last?
Night two of ten from the, outside he was struggling game,
two a bit of a. Revelation in game, three things
start to even out or he regrets the mean a little.
Bit but his shot does look good from the. OUTSIDE

(24:07):
i mean he's taken deep. Threes he has made some
really deep. Threes it's. Impressive but he's got to be
able to. Guard because if you're getting picked on in summer,
league how much are they going to scheme for you
in THE? NBA a, lot a lot every.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Year every year, too like just to get a little
bit more broad every. Year it's an indication of just
like how high the skill level has gone in THE,
Nba like you can be like an otherworldly elite guy
at one to two aspects of the, game and it's just, like, sorry,
man you're not gonna sniff the, Floor like you're just
not good, enough like you're just not good enough at

(24:43):
these other, things which, YEAH i mean we were talking
about THE G league last week and how like what
do you do with a guy who is like crushing
there and consistently putting up, numbers but like there's still
enough holes in their game to where like they're just
not gonna like they can't see, time they can't they
can't become a rotational. Player AND i think that's why

(25:05):
it makes guys Like christie all the more, exciting because there.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Is Like, Flowers, Christy, Yeah you're like there's, there like
there there's something there like where you can definitely see
the makings of like.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Well like maybe not super exceptional at like as a
three dimensional, player there's enough there where you're, Like, OKAY
i think, That LIKE i think the floor, LEVEL i
think the baseline is good enough THAT i can see
a path towards some actual. Minutes and we talked about
this coming into the Summer league and the, draft and
like that's the Thing i'm just the most excited, about
is like what if we can get one guy to consistently,

(25:42):
pop that could be good for you, know a few
appearances in like.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Three to five.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
MINUTES i, mean that'd be that'd be sort of an
otherworldly achievement for for what we kind of expect from
development from where we've drafted and where we're at right.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Now, yeah If Christy flowers And Yanick i'm Really i'm
actually interested in to see how they develop in THE
G league this. Year and that's not a knock on,
them like to say that they won't make the senior,
Squad but The clippers senior squad is a very has
a very specific to your window that we are looking

(26:17):
at right, now so it just will be. Difficult but those,
three we can probably all, agree are kind of the
most exciting.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
If if this, Crew if this crew wins the summer
league's league, chip whose starting squat is in? Jeopardy starting?
Lot who's getting a hot?

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Water, well that is the. Rule you win Summer, league
one of those guys gets bumped into the starting line
up in the regular.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Season it's it's it's in.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
There it's a.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Bye law got the NEW Cba did you miss? THEM i, Was.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Oh that's so. Good all, Right so now the broadcasting
duo for the third game of The Clippers Summer league was.
HORRENDOUS i was not the only person who thought. This
people On twitter were ready to. Revolve they sounded like

(27:15):
they hated each. Other they were so bad.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Man well it was just. Okay SO i guess the
guy who was the play by play man on the.
Call he is a studio host ON NBA, tv AND
i don't know how much play by play he has,
done but he was over hyping and over selling. Everything at,

(27:39):
FIRST i thought it was just the brawny, effect but
he was taking it to such a high. Level and
THEN i thought about. It it's, like, well it's actually
not the first guy THAT i didn't really know about or.
RECOGNIZE i was calling a summer league game that was
really showing a lot of. ENTHUSIASM i think what they're
doing is like they're trying to put together a sizzle,

(27:59):
Reel like they're trying to show what a call could,
be even though it's just summer. League how would this
translate to a big? Game? Actually how would their call?
SOUND i beget.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
That so it was some great inside baseball From Madame.
OSSLIN i that thought had not crossed my. Mind but
you're one hundred percent. Right they're trying to put together
the highlight reel or some other play by play.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Gigs, honestly wasn't just this. Guy i've heard it from
a multiple. Games i'm, like what is going on In Summer?
League Like Adam silver put down a mandate to try
to make these games as exciting as possible that everyone
has to freak out on every.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Play they kept also doing a thing WHICH i, despise
which is comparing something happening in the sport you're watching
and saying that's like if this thing happened in a
different sport that you're. Watching they did it with football
like four times last. Night they're like like a defensive,
back And i'm just, Like, god we. Don't this is

(28:56):
the sport we're. Watching we. Don't you don't have to
make it seem like. Football no disrespect for. FOOTBALL i
love My dolphins despite what they do to me every single,
year but, like we don't need to like.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
MAKE i don't need to remind me of football WHEN
i got to take it The dolphins.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Exactly. No and then there was a quote where one
of the guys said his stat line won't jump out at,
you but when you look at his, stats it's LIKE.
Whoa AND i was, like we like you, guys are
just word salad ing, now like this is just, LIKE
i don't, know it's Summer league for. Everybody i'm probably

(29:31):
being too.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
HARD I i definitely. Was AS i posted his, call he,
said what was it About? Yannix remember the? Name and
he Mispronounced. Niederhauser it's a hard name and he's calling
like back to back. Games he had just called the game.
Before it's another twelve, guys you got to learn it's It's.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Toughnhuser is not a hard last. NAME i. KNOW i
know hundreds of last.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Names i'll give them a little bit of. Grace, yeah that's. Fair.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Will do you have any thoughts on the?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Announcers SHOULD i should should the?

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Name?

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Honestly? Yeah, man what are they? Letting what are they?
Letting clips and differ in there.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
In summer? League, dude just let it a couple of
people hop in there have some.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Fun, YEAH i like that.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Idea the color MAN i think Was Brendan, Haywood, RIGHT
i think we're gonna player. Center, Yeah i've liked him at.
Times maybe that combo just didn't. WORK i don't.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Know it didn't sound like they were super familiar with
each other or necessarily liked each other that.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Way, again that's WHY us three should be on. There
very familiar with one, another very.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
True we all like.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
It pronounce, names some, names several.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Names at least let us know what you thought of
The Clippers Summer league up to this. Point they have
one more game and then maybe a couple more depending
on the. Championship over at YouTube Dot collumpsish At clippers
podcast or At twitter At Clippers, pod we have a
quick audio break and then we have not a free agency,

(31:08):
update but we do have, Dips so there's an audio
break coming up and THEN dip and talking what might
happen With Bradley beal and three? Two what all?

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Right welcome back in the cliffs And. Dip we talked
the most important part of the ENTIRE nba, season which
is of course THE Nba Summer. League now we got
to talk about some other boring.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Stuff will select girls run on the. Clock let's get
into free. Agency we got to talk About.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Beal the update is there's no, update and of course
we're gonna have SOME dip talk for, you but uh,
yeah let's talk About beal because there was some progress
at least. Today beal got the guaranteed portion of his
contract a little over thirteen million dollars from The Phoenix,
suns which does pave the way for the buyout and

(31:58):
for him to go ahead and come on to the clips,
hopefully did.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
You GUYS i didn't MAKE i Think Bradley beal is
the only PERSON i know of who made thirteen million dollars.
Today so that's pretty cool For Bradley.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
BEAL i THINK sgia just did by the time we
started this show till.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Now but, yeah that's very. True the, buyout it's looming
at this, point. Right what's what's closer than looming IN
thea IN nba transaction, moves.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Simmering, imminent. Imminent it it feels like the buyout that
will never. End he has gotten to that point the
amount of reports that have been out there and, he's, oh,
no here it. Comes when we get this new thing
today is still hasn't. Happened and the report was he
was still going to lose shave off fourteen million to

(32:50):
be bought, out and therefore he may be looking to
recoup that with whatever team he goes, to who has
the most most to pay him that most The clippers
could pay his five point three million was left on
their mid level exception after Paying Brook. LOPEZ i don't.
KNOW i Think Golden state could give him the full
mid level exception because they haven't used it. Yet Because

(33:12):
Big al is still out.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
There that feels like something they would.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Do they haven't done, anything, RIGHT i, MEAN i don't
think The warriors have made a. Move so are they
the ones lying in, wait the snake in the grass
waiting for. This everybody thinks that The clippers are going
to get, Him but what The warrior is going to
offer twice as? Much, yeah AND i know he's still

(33:37):
getting like ninety six million of the one ten even
if he loses fourteen. Million but losing fourteen million is not, Nothing.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
No not when you sign the contract Get, Yeah i'm.
NOT i think it's crazy when players give money back
and buy out TO i understand why they do, it but, like,
Yeah i'm. Not i'm not holding anything Against Bradley beal
for wanting as much money as he can possibly.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Get.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
People we all three of us haven't really talked about
deal AND cp three being added because now we're in
this realm, too where The clippers are, like, well they
might just get both and that's kind of been run
with as a. Thing haggle no, haggle bad idea to get.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Both it depends ON cp three's, mindset if he's cool
with coming off the bench and playing limited minutes and
backing Up. JAMES i love. It it does feel, like you,
know you're bringing in some really big, names guys who

(34:37):
have done a lot in THE, nba and those are
two big. Personalities you have to get acclimated with the.
Group AND i don't know THAT i don't mind. IT
i just think it's more of an adjustment period if
you bring in both guys just but it could.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Work that's Where i'm. At the adjustment feels. Difficult will
where are you at with The BEAL cp?

Speaker 3 (35:00):
THREE i, MEAN i, think you, know it just depends
on everyone being willing to accept a certain. Role and
you KNOW cp three has said he want it's a starting,
role but like how many times have we heard that,
from you, know like a player sort of at his
stage of his career and of his. Ilk of course

(35:20):
you want a starting.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Role who who, Wouldn't but.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
It depends on what sort of agreement that you can come.
To and Even, BEAL i MEAN i think that he
would be offered a starting role because that would be
the incentive for him over another. Team, LIKE i don't
know how you ask him to eat sort of A i,
mean even with the five, million he's still what down

(35:46):
seven ish or something like. THAT i don't know exactly
what it works out to, you but you, know if
you're asking somebody to take less, money you're presumably offering
something in. Return AND i think THAT i think, That,
LIKE i think the conversation has definitely included his role
in a starting position, there SO i think that one

(36:08):
at least to start would be sort of a non.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Negotiable, yeah if he's coming, STING i don't.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
It's not to comes not to come off the bench
in the Old Norm powell. Role it's the new it's
the last Season's norm power. Role that's what you're coming
in for.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
The New norm.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Out and we'll. See, honestly we're gonna probably end up
being live tomorrow night to talk The Bradley beal buy.
Out who. Knows it feels like that's what's. Happening Justin
rousseau said he would be surprised if it didn't happen On.
Wednesday So, Rousseau i'm blaming. You if it doesn't, happen.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Buddy there would be so many people wrong if he
goes somewhere.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
ELSE i like That warriors thing, though that they haven't
done ANYTHING i, know and they have more. Money i'm.
Not i'm they're.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Sleeping you, know they're to.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Sleeping they're too busy watching real, basketball real hoops And
i'm talking The Big. Three.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Uh, sorry, guys we got so sleepy during the off.
SEASON i forgot about.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
It just the stoner front office the off.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Season what do you expect from us the off? Season,
like we're not doing. Anything we're like.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Teachers, dude this is me. Time i'm painting. Houses, okay
anything else basketball related before we get into the. Dips.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
UH i Thought Kobe sanders looked.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Good, YES i would agree with. THAT i like his
passing and his shot looks better THAN i thought it.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Would, yeah he didn't look.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
GREAT i thought it would be.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Bad the young colonel he's cooking out.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
There yesterday wasn't his, best but the first two games
he looked really. Confident his mid, range which was kind
of advertises him having that in his bag From Nevada
is showed up a couple of times where it. Being,
wow that's that's interesting and just he's craft to get
into the. Basket he's working. Angles i've liked his.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Game here's still a good game four putting us over
the top for, that damn, Chip.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
HEY i wonder how many teams are gonna end up
four and? Oh, right, like how many people we're probably
gonna find?

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Out SO i foolheartedly gave you guys the standings base
WHEN i was earlier today after today's. Game because of
average margin of, victory there's a log jam at three
and oh eight teams are at three and oh and
The clippers are currently at. Seventh due to that that

(38:43):
average margin of victory they are about they're at plus
nine right. Now The raptors are leading the way at
plus twenty three and a. Half, okay where's Where's?

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Denver can they help their own? Causes denver near, him big.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Dub, sorry let me let me pull Up denver, here
because they Are i'm gonna be, HONEST i gotta look
pretty hard on. Here because they're zero to three and
the standings are twenty. Six their point differential was MIAs.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Six that that's a game they should win by. Twenty
then this is a.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Different this is revenge For game seven coming up On.
Thursday get, Ready, denver.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
This is this is a major get.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
BACK i don't know if you. GET i, mean if
things are as they, stand they would need a like
The clippers would need a significant victory to hop into
that top. Four the fourth place spot is The, kings
and they are plus twelve point, seven so about four

(39:47):
points per game better than The. Clippers so by my quick,
math The clippers will need to win by about what twelve?

Speaker 2 (39:57):
SIXTEEN i ain't no.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Problem maybe easy against the worst team in summer. League,
yeah But, bot they're probably GONNA i think they might
bring your kitchen for this final, game just to make
sure The clippers don't. Chip oh, yeah all, right we're talking, Dips. Adam,

(40:20):
first let's college last. Week it wasn't our best. Work
we know that we heard your. Thoughts will made a
fake dip that no one even. Saw all, Right i've.
STOP i mailed it, In adam Mailed adam wrote a.
Letter he didn't even mail it. IN i think we're
better this. WEEK i know THAT i did better this.

(40:41):
Week i'm excited to see what y'all. Brought. Adam you
go was technically better last. Week, well no one saw,
it so it's like the tree in the.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Woods, Right, wait what's the tree in the woods.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Doesn't make a noise if it falls and no one's. Around, yes.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
They got cameras out, there. Guys it makes a, noise all,
right those hunting. Cameras all, Right i'm trying something else.
Here so, Hey i'm going with sage. Honey is it
a dip or? NOT i asked the question last week
about yogurt what constitutes a? Dip and that's that's really the.

(41:24):
Question all. Right this is it's more philosophical than Anything
i'm saying about the flavoring or. Anything is honey a?
DIP i mean think of the old like honeycomb commercial
where they got that thing and uh in there the thing.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
That no one has ever to administer honey to.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
Anything this is Usually patreon content where we talk about
dips and. Movies BUT i think honey the way that
you're currently consuming, It, no it looks like a struggle
meal because you're using a.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
Spoon, okay but what IF i had like a cheerio
necklace THAT i dipped in here and they ate them
one by one?

Speaker 1 (42:07):
LEFT i don't know what to do with that. VISUAL
i think there are things that are dipped in, honey Right,
like there's like honey dipped. Things does that make it a?
Dip Right?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
LIKE i don't know IF i have some. Fruit IF
i had some fruit, here.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
I'd be worried about your sugar, levels if anything at that.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Point But nature's candy is it a?

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Dip it's more of a.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
DRIZZLE i think it could be a. Drizzle will is
the chef, here, Guys so if you didn't, know.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
It's more of like a sauce or a finishing. Agent
BUT i feel.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Like it can be used as a, dip but it
is not a. Dip.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
YEAH i think you got to mix it with something
else for it to be a true. Dip, anyways eat
another big spoonful in the.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
CARPET i eat it really close to the. Mic would
you bring that to a? Barbecue let's SAY i brought.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Is it local? Honey is?

Speaker 2 (43:11):
It how close are? Bears what's the? Bear is regional?

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Pollen the bears?

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Are they're?

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Close, Yeah i'm not affing around those. Bears. YEAH i
probably wouldn't bring it all, right have to put it
up in the, tree you, know in a bag keep
it away from the.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
Bears that'd be a good.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
BIT i actually would bring some local. HONEY i feel
like that the right kind of. Party people are going
nuts for that dip or, NO.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
I would say as a dip specifically in this. Context all,
right so we got a maybe on that one bear
pop pending pending. Bears, uh will would you like to go?

Speaker 2 (43:47):
Next?

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Yeah what's?

Speaker 1 (43:50):
THAT i, said you brought a dip this? TIME i.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
DID i ate a dip last week as. Well, uh
if you're not watching on, YouTube i'm dropping my, laptop
which is something you only get to see on the big.
Screen that's YouTube Dot com At Clippers. Podcast, Okay SO
i had a little duo dips. Here as you can,
TELL i kind of did some damage on. IT i

(44:18):
had sort of A christmas In july theme going. Here
so this dip here on my right viewing left is
a just a classic sort of green salsa From Trader
joe's comes in a, can but it's quite. Delightful and
then on the left HERE i made a a spicy pesto.

(44:41):
Mao you may recall earlier on this show in the off,
SEASON i made some sort of pesto THING i can't
remember exactly what it, was BUT i liked the flavor of.
IT i thought the look was. BAD i thought the
look was. Bad it just like baby throw up or
something some sort. Of so WHAT i did here or
WAS i took SOME qp, mayo my favorite base for any,

(45:05):
man my favorite base for anni, sauce to be perfectly
honest with, you, uh AND i added some uh like
crunchy chili crisp to, it and THEN i just slowly
put in a little bit of pesto UNTIL i was
happy with the. Flavor so the sauce overall was like
more of a red orange, color WHICH i think is
a little bit more pleasing to the eye eating it

(45:26):
on just some Classic Trader joe's white corn tortilla. Chips, Girl,
YEAH i think it would bring all this to a.
BARBECUE i, think you, KNOW i think a big THING
i bring up here with the package dips IS i
feel like maybe it's not enough work for me to
feel personally happy with bringing it to a. BARBECUE i
think IF i brought this duo that to, me like

(45:49):
between the two things is LIKE i did put some.
Effort you did put some effort into, it and Like,
honestly if you need a tortilla chip and you happen
to be a Trader, joe's which is should be for
your barbecue because they've got great alcohol. Deals if that's
Your if that's something that you're going for for your,
barbecue it's a great. Chip it's a good it's a
good tortilla.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Chip hell, yeah all, right two for Two on, DIPS.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
I went.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
WITH i JUST i looked up just best dip recipe
an s C o manager's dream right. Here from my, end.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
The dip is so. Good charles's freezing AND i tried
out of.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Them didn't take that, Word, peter just fee we heard
that shock we're.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
HEARING i guess this is breaking.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
All are you good? Now oh never, Mind now you're. Frozen,
Man we're gonna be waiting in suspense for this. DIP
i love this dip so.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Far all, Right i'm being told That I'M i heard.
That when you hear from, him a million dollars.

Speaker 2 (47:04):
A very loud f all like that was the only
thing that came. Through But, chuck keep. Talking you were
you can see you, now keep?

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Talking can you hear?

Speaker 2 (47:13):
Me? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah it was, delayed BUT i
heard you the video was.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Delayed oh, Man i'm dying with the suspense of.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
This the struggle is. Real charles really teased this, out.
Guys he said that he went all out for this,
dip basically the opposite of WHAT i. Did so he
does need to show this off and pay it. Off
this is.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
Showmanship this is. Folks this is how you create off season.
Content this is if you're looking to create a sizzle,
reel as the commentators of last night some of the
game might have been trying to. Do this is where
you want to. Look this is the kind of thing
the big weeks want to. Say can you maintain? Suspense

(48:04):
can you maintain?

Speaker 2 (48:05):
INTRIGUE i thought he said something's, breaking AND i. LOOKED
i joked At twitter to see if something happened With Bradley,
Beal but, no it was his computer. BREAKING i honestly
thought that's what he.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Meant that would be the.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
Best that would be the best cap to our dip review.
Segment as if some viewers were stuck around in the,
end did find out in real time that The Bradley
beal deal was?

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Done, YEAH i, mean but if we can't get, that
we'll at least settle For chuck Returning at some point,
here he has.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
A surprise which he hinted to us off camera before
this podcast start THAT i THAT i do think is
going to blow some people.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Away all, right here we.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
Go, Hey i'm. Back can y'all hear?

Speaker 2 (48:59):
Me?

Speaker 1 (49:00):
Yeah could you hear?

Speaker 2 (49:01):
That?

Speaker 1 (49:02):
Okay? Cool sorry about.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
That.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
Uh they don't want me to show you guys this dip. Recipe,
Okay SO i went with something called Million Dollar. Dip
this is what it looks.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
Like what do you got going on in?

Speaker 1 (49:17):
THERE i will tell. You this also opens up another
debate in terms of dips for, spreads because this has
a consistency, that although it is called a, dip works
better as a. Spread i'm enjoying it with a bottle of.
Grapefruit soju just shout out.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
TO, genroi which is in a bowl full of.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
Ice, yeah it's very hot in my recording. Area, okay
onto the. Dip Million Dollar dip formerly known As Nieman Marcus.
Dip i'm learning so many. Things this dip is one
half cup slivered, almonds six slices of, bacon one and
a half cups of, mayo an eight ouch package of

(49:55):
sharp cheddar, cheese shredded half cup thinly sliced green, onions
and some cayenne.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
Pepper watch out for that cayenne. Pepper it's not that.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
BAD i should do. More if, anything this chip hot.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
Ones this dip is.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
PHENOMENAL i browned the almonds a little, bit the slivered
almonds a little, bit and then crushed them up BECAUSE
i thought just big ass livered almonds might be a
little too much crunched with the texture.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
The.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
BACON i cooked so it was a little, crispy and
then put it kind of into. Bits, Basically i'm not
buying bacon, bits. Don't you don't have to do. That
may just mix it up in a. Bowl it is
not the most esthetically pleasing. DIP i will acknowledge, that.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
But it.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Is but it is. DELICIOUS i would take this to a.
Barbecue i'm enjoying it with a classic buttery, round.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
So that does feel like more of a.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
Right it is called a. Dip you can dip. It
i'll just you, know just proof you can dip it
right here or dip dip review. Dip it's a. DIP
