In Part 3 of our Commanders Briefing podcast with Lt. Colonel (MD) Barry Greene, President of the State Guard Association of the United States (SGAUS), we delve into the launch of a national initiative— The State Defense Force Recruiting Course & Badge. This new training program is the first of its kind at the national level and was designed by seasoned professionals within SGAUS to address the unique needs of State Defense Force recruiting. Lt. Col. Greene outlines how the course equips recruiters with a specialized, tailored skillset focused specifically on attracting and enlisting qualified applicants into State Defense Forces across the nation.During the discussion, Lt. Col. Greene highlights how the program not only streamlines the recruiting process but also empowers recruiters to more effectively communicate the value and mission of State Defense Forces to potential members. The course culminates in the awarding of a new Recruiting Badge, giving recognition to those who complete the program and reinforcing the professionalism and credibility of State Defense Force recruiters nationwide.

This episode was made possible by Dustin Colgrove, Ben Perry,

at patreon dot com. Forward slash State Defense Force. Now
another one of the badges that we're introducing that's never
been done by Saugust before, and you're going to smile recruiter.

(00:22):
We're about to enroll the Nations for State Defense for
specific recruiting force qualifications. Because, as I mentioned, our recruiting
in the State Defense Forces is very, very different in
profile than the other uniform services. The tool set is different.

(00:43):
What you're promising recruit snuffy is entirely different, and so
we've put together a tool set. I'm working on that
with an extraordinary fellow, Major Mitch Cochrane out of California's
State Defense Forces. And Major Cochrane he's a professor by
trade and cyber. By the way, he taught our first

(01:06):
basic Badge cyber course one week at our last annual
conference and we badged people. But Major Cochrane is working
with our teams to roll this out. It's going to
be a recruiting badge that goes on the lower pocket,
just like you see the National Guard wearing and to

(01:27):
our National Guard brothers and sisters, I say it means
exactly the same thing as the one that you're used
to seeing in the National Guard or the federal military.
For a Title ten recruiting badge. However, these individuals will
have gone through a program whereby they will have trained
and qualified in recruiting, and we'll go back now to

(01:50):
their state defense forces as force multipliers. To me, that
is a critical element for Saugust. Our job isn't to
build up the basic badges. Our job is to build
up the force multipliers. It's the job of the force
multipliers to build up all the people with the basic badges.
So that's recruiting.
