Bunny down, Bood Bunny down, the Bunny back in the box. Hello,
(00:23):
and welcome to con here in thepodcast, I am Mark Police Motorcycle
Halfmeyer and I am Jay Kiss onthe Joke Fluids. Welcome you aboard.
Don't have the podcast for chapter thirtyseven. On this show, Mark and
I fly away through Connem scene withsome motorple guests and it's seen thirty seven.
What happens in chapter thirty seven?Connet, Well, the jailbird has
landed in the silibust dissembar or We'llhelps Bishop up and reassures Baby out before
(00:46):
he is loaded into amboots and backto life in prison. Yeah. Larkin
counts up the conns, but cannotaccount for Cyrus, who, along with
Diamond, Doug and Something, hasescaped through the pinball hatch. A deceased
Johnny twenty three is removed from theplay whilst his attached arm remains chained up.
Bishop thanks Poe with a peck onthe cheek. Skip Devas and Ginny
helped Tricia and Casey down from thehelicopter PLO and Larkin spots Cyrus the top
(01:08):
of departing fire truck. Stay Commandertwo Police medicycles and prepare to pursue.
So we need a guest tell ustalk this. We need guests who who
requested a Monica Potter chapter and thenext one has already claimed, and she
is in this one for like halfa second, so discounts us from fresher
Sunday is Jessica man Hi, Jessica, welcome to show Hi, Welcome or
(01:30):
welcome. You're supposed to say welcome, welcome. I'm supposed to say thank
you for having me, but we'rewelcome on her world. Yes, thank
you for welcoming us. And Iguess my Cornair nickname would be Jessica the
Massacre. Sure that counts. Yeah, that works. I like that,
Jessica the Massacre, the Maryland Messica. That's like in were You some of
(01:56):
the darkness that the Dario's characters RecklessAlexis. That's like a good nickname,
and Johnny Nachell gave it. That'sa random nickname for that Jessica mess That's
whole lot better than the Capricious Slaughtererthat I've come up with. I'm just
annoying everybody marked the Capricious Slaughterer Hoffmeyer, It's just troll people with it.
(02:22):
That's it. So you're Monica Potter. I remember her from Head over Heels
back in the day with Freddy Prince. You're a big mon and then but
you watched Parenthood. I saying I'ma big Monica Potter fan is definitely an
overstatement with the poster behind you saysotherwise, you're right. Yeah, I
didn't think you could see that.I was a fan of Parenthood after it
(02:50):
already was done airing. I watchedit when it was streaming, But I
really got into that show, andMonica Potter is great in it, and
she wasn't even necessarily one of myfavorite characters. But you don't see her
doing like I don't know, Ijust haven't seen her many of her like
younger roles, I would say.So when I saw that she was in
(03:12):
this, I was just excited towatch her do something besides Parenthood. So
it was more so that I wasjust interested in seeing, you know,
her doing something other than Parenthood.Don't watch Have you watched Patch Adams?
I did see Patch Adams when Iwas younger, but I didn't even remember
that that was her in it.So that's how big of a Monica pothead
(03:36):
I am. So you come, you come sit on one of the Instagram
posts which had a picture on like, is that Monica Potta. I was
like, yeah, so you hadno idea. You hadn't seen this at
that point? Is that what isgonna have to have Jess from about the
chapters? It's it's certain, Butyeah, I didn't realse it was her
in Patch Adams or her in Soul. I think I'll see the two films.
I've seen her, right, Ijust know her as oh yeah,
(03:58):
and so of course saw um Yeah, I I don't know. I was
just like, oh cool, MonicaPotter um and you obviously delivered. I
mean she's in for a you know, non zero amount of this. I
mean she's not she's not a hugeshe's like the goal of the film rather
(04:18):
than a huge part of it.Yeah, she's she's she's a present,
she's the irrelevant character, but she'snot in the thick of it. This
is as close as she ever getsto being in the thick of it,
where she's nearby what's going on.I'm just so happy they didn't kidnap her
and the daughter. That would havejust been ridiculous. At the end of
(04:39):
Speed, when Dennis Hopper gets SandraBullock like in this one, Cyrus is
like, oh, there she is, but I don't know who she is,
but I just figure it out,and then he takes him of the
daughter and Monica Potter the skip Devi'shas been a bad guy the whole time,
and he's he's he's working with Cyrus. Why is Cyrus on the top
(05:00):
of the fire truck because swathings drivingit. Swamthing's driving it. Correct,
Yes, yes, something's driving. We see in the next job something's driving
diamond dogs on the back and Cyrusis on top of on the ladder,
a ridiculous place to be. Whyaren't they in the cab because that wouldn't
look as cool. Yeah, you'reright, Cyrus isn't a smart We've learned
(05:21):
that about Actually, Jay makes sense. Yeah, absolutely well. Okay,
so in the script as a fairfew changes between the script and the scene
in this one. In the script, they don't spot Cyrus on top of
the fire truck. They spot afiretruck. One fire truck going the other
way like being a salmon swimming upriver and bashing cars out the way and
(05:42):
fireman being thrown off of the truck, which makes sense. That makes more
sense than oh, hey, Malkovichis riding on top of that fire truck
and no one plays for him tobe when he's trying to hide in the
one place in the world people arelooking for him. So it's got to
be a visual film decision of howcan I show at least for him quickly.
(06:02):
And I just instantly cracked up,like ridiculous. He looks kind of
he looks quite lithe on top ofthat fire truck too. I've never seen
Malkovich very like. He looks likealmost a free runner up there. I've
never seen him do much squatting orrunning sore. Seeing him up there making
(06:24):
some quick movements, I enjoyed itup what we did. We didn't see
him get up there. We seehim kind of just about get out of
the bossom of the plane. Iguarantee you just jumped to the top.
One jump. Mary was super jump, okay, double double jump going.
Well, the weird thing you don'tknow about that scene is that John Cusack
(06:46):
was really in his brain, inJohn Mouth's brain the whole time. So
of course people don't think people don'tknow that, But that was in the
script, in the second script he'scontrolling. He's wait, who's in Cusack's
Yeah, he's being John Malkovich. So is he being both? Can you
be both at the same time?Has he leveled up? Is someone in
(07:10):
John Cusack's brain? Is Cameron Diazand John Cusack's brain? Sure? Catherine
Keen isn't her brain? Right?Out of cast members from the films like
Jones and There somewhere, So yeah, like five people already made this joke
before me. I mean we hadthe guy from you the first minute on
(07:30):
and he didn't make it. Yeah, no, you did it. So
he's been controlled. That's why hedid it. That's why he's been making
all these bad decisions Jays because cusacsin his brain and Cameron getting cusa brain.
Yeah. Well, I mean Markinhas been not a dumb guys a
way through. I mean he's madesome poor decisions in terms of the entire
(07:54):
plot of the film, but likesticking the cons in the plane, Well,
I don't think he's I mean maybehe's just not experienced of being a
bad guy, and that's this problem. He's trying to do bad guy things.
He's a good guy. It's notworking out. Yeah, sure,
Okay, I am more confused tracks. I did find it very humorous,
(08:16):
humorous visual as well, to seeJohn Cusac just like counting around the like
massive people and being like um one, two, five, um ten,
Yeah they're all there, They're allaccounted for, Like, yeah, he
doesn't know who's been killed? Welldoesn't he is. He's clearly consulting his
(08:37):
cornet person This britcheat, the sameone that I have, which is where
where everyone is? At this point, I think he's been We have to
assume he's been keeping track. Sothe only people he doesn't know where they
are I think Billy Bedlam. Becausehe knows that he knows the ones who
got on and off the plane. He could maybe assume that Benson, Calls
and Popovic are still alive but hadsome kind of trade off and to stay
(09:01):
on and they sent off Falser onthe pilot and the other guy instead.
So Benson, Karlspopovitch, Billy Bedlam, h Darlin Greene three on the fire
truck and Conrad are the ones thathe can't and the two that were left
at learn around field, so connumber one and Ramirez, I mean the
(09:22):
other one smashed too. That oneguy's just blown up, Like, I
don't think he saw him get blownblown up? Right, Like, how
do you identify him? That's true? Yeah, the other the other two
that died at the airport, Iguess Goose and Ajax. Yeah, they're
blown up. Yeah, this andhe knows what. He knows what I'm
to Sindia. He knows what I'mto Pimball. Yeah, the ones who've
got off Old Gone, Donald,Londel Watts, he knows where they are.
(09:46):
So yeah, so he's doing hisheadcount and he's he's generally looking for
he's looking for Cyrus because that isthe main bad guy. But the end
of the film, we know whathappens there. Does he keep looking?
Has he got like an half adozen people who are trying and track that,
Yeah, but they're all going Pokenhelp him out Poke and like okay,
(10:09):
Benson, Cars Popovitch they got killedin the plane. I can tell
you that much Power doesn't know aboutMonkeys and Ajax and on number one ramires,
he doesn't know where they are.Conrad disappeared. He's not in his
head count. I think when Bishopis getting up on the plane, Conrad's
the Jesse's like one of the Bteam. Of the cons. He's not
(10:31):
like in the major like Darling Green. That's he's like the bald guy who
spits guards. At one point,he's like a future extra es. Actually
he's I think we see him getup behind Bishop, but then he's not
in the head count. So maybehe got off, Maybe he got out.
I don't know. I don't understandhow. Maybe he followed Cyrus and
(10:54):
they drove from the flight track beforehere, or he followed Garland and they're
playing craps together. Sure K,yeah, he's gonna be busy Conner too.
Bounty Hunter. I like it.I like it a lot, five
five episodes on it. Why didn'tthey do like a tie in with US
Marshals too? So wait, wewould end up with Joey Pants, Tommy
(11:20):
Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes. That'dbe amazing. Put them all together,
the three, that's the three customerslike the name as well. I like
I like US Air Marshals. Ido too. That's good. I like
it. And John Pogue, thedirector of Deep Blue, c wrote he
wrote, he wrote, gues marshomsyeah, and also I saw that she
(11:43):
was in Monica Potter was in threeepisodes of Goliath, which stars with Yeah.
Yeah, from a lot of connectionshere, Jessica. Oh, not
to this film, the other stuffwe've done. Okay, so why do
you think he's up on top ofthis fire truck just so they can see
(12:03):
him and know that they're like foraudiences to be like, oh, okay,
he's on But what's his motivation,do you? Reckon? He wants
to be chased, Reckon, He'strying to get He's trying to get cu
second poems, we can kill him. That would be better if he was
doing like put his thumbs on likehis temples and then like get his fingers
up in the air like a moose. Yeah. The last thing we saw
(12:26):
him doing was saying too that hewas he was trying to kill po and
little case he was gonna last smellwith his stinking breath. So he's still
possibly trying to kill Poe, butin a way that he also gets free.
So I think he's looking for Poe, wants po to chase him,
and he's confident enough to be like, I want to fire truck. I'm
going to kill this guy which triesto do so. I think this is
(12:48):
an act of war. Verything else, if nothing else it's just a taunt,
like, yeah, I'm getting away. F you guys like you didn't
get me. Just flicks them off, double flicks them off. Do you
feel like maybe Larkin and Poe arelike misplacing their energies here, Like I
(13:09):
know the three they're going after areprobably if they escape, would go on
and do some bad. Fine,But why is no one specifically trying to
find Garland Green? Like they haven'tseen him? I guess I guess they
didnting with the problem. They cansee he's number one, right, Darlin
Green's number one. He's the onewho was like fully locked up. It
(13:33):
wasn't just in a cage. Hewas in a cage in a straight check
at a mask. Why we don'thave a personal vendetta against him so we
can just let him escape? He'sjust a bunch. What what do you
think Cyrus would do if both Larkinand Poe looked at him. I'm driving
away and they just waved like getout of here. They're like, we
gotta find Garland Green, y'all,And so everyone's like Green he wears heads
(13:58):
driving through states. Okay, okay, we love how about that? We
love how Cyrus goes out in thisfilm wonderful villain death and talk about it
next week. But what if insteadit was a dennistntry from Drassic Park.
And I think where he gets inthe truck, he turns and Darling Green's
next to him, and we seethe fire trucks started rocking. Does that
(14:20):
happen to swamping or does Cyrus withmean Presumably Darling Green's already wearing Swampthing's head
as a hat at that point, and so he then just fire trucks starts
rocking, and then we see lateron Darling back at the casino table.
He's taken everyone out, bloody mouth, I want that now, Oh my
gosh, satisfying. The entire firetruck just starts shaking. Cyrus is getting
(14:46):
mauled limb from limb from a fairywho still has the big neck rill or
the dinosaur still he borrowed a costumethat gives him a frilly neck. Elizabethan
kind of coast some big necrons thatwhere would that be there? Like a
is there a London, Las Vegastudor coast gume? I'm sure yeah,
(15:11):
it'll be some kind of themed casino. I'm sure that is amazing. They
go in there and it's just likeit's just remember in Cavin the Woods when
I was a blood just the entrailsand the elevator shaft and it's just horrifying
and bloody and all the guts. They opened up the cab door and that's
just the three of them. Heturns on the fire trucks and it's blood
coming out. That would really resolveone of my other like questions or gripes
(15:39):
about this scene too, because I, okay, obviously this was going to
happen, but Cameron Poe, youseveral times throughout the movie he could have
gotten himself out of the situation andhome to his poor wife and daughter who
(16:00):
have sacrificed years of their life becausehe had to get into a stupid bar
fight. And you're like, okay, but he's trying to rescue his buddy.
He's trying to protect this guard. There's valor in that. Now he
is literally going after three men yetagain out of a sense of like,
(16:22):
oh, I can't let these guysget over on me, so he has
to personally follow these guys when hiswife and daughter are right there and there
are like police officers, agents, everywhere that could be going after the bad
guys. Now he doesn't need todo that. All they have to do
is point two points two points. He doesn't he doesn't know treasuring Casey.
(16:48):
That so he's that's not on hismind track. And two well, we
know the direction he's going in afterCyrus is the ward's treasuring Casey. Maybe
that's the same direction. But alsoCyrus did threaten him, Jay, your
daughter is gonna smell my breath,so amabe. He's like, if I
don't kill this dude, they're gonnafind me later because Cyrus the virus is.
(17:11):
He's he makes great plans, buthe's a terrible improviser. He's just
he's just said to Bishop that he'sgot a birthday Parduce yet too. Presumably
that birthday party is in the roosonAnd we know for a fact because of
what time sunset was, it's alreadyafter like eight thirty pm. He's got
three and a half hours to driveor to travel from Vegas to Arizona.
(17:33):
He doesn't want to get stuck. He doesn't want to like, if he
goes by official methods, they're gonnawant to debrief him. They gonna want
to what okay, what happened?Yeah, he's got to get out of
where's Darling Green? Exactly what happenedhere? We got you want to say,
baby, but what about it?There's like eight other cons we can't
find. Where are they stay?Paperwork? You'll see your family in like
two to three working days. Sohe needs needs to get out of there.
(17:56):
So he grabs the first transp wecan see, which happened police motorcycle?
That pretty quick, and he goesback to general for stealing his police
motorcycle. He's on parole that he'sgonna get harmed with weben kids and they
go back to person for the rightyears. So we'll see Casey when she's
sixty. It was worth it.No, I didn't think. I didn't
(18:18):
think about the fact that he mayhave just coincidentally been heading in the same
direction. That's w I do haveto say. In ninety seven when I
watched this, John Cusack was oneof my favorite actors on the planet.
He really was, and Nicolas Cagewas one of mine as well, one
of my favorite actors. And seeingthe two of them, who I was
(18:40):
unaccustomed to them doing action movies geton police motorcycles together and take off to
battle John Malkovich and ving rained likethis is this is pretty cool, Like
that's probably one of my favorite visuals. It's like watching Nicolas Cage and John
Q's act two very what's the wordlike character acting, Yeah, dramatic,
(19:07):
like you don't associate them with that, I'm like, And then they're getting
on police motorcycles together to fight crime. That was probably one of my happiest
moments of ninety seven. One ofmy favorite visuals from this this this scene
is it's still Makovich, his headjust popping out of the bottom of the
plane. I think just the cameralingers on him for a moment, but
he like just hit that. It'sa very comedic, like it's very like
(19:30):
Edgar Wright the comedy of things movinginto the frame, this Malkovich head popping
down from above. But then Ican't help but fill they're like army crawling
along the like armac and rubble andbroken glass and debris and their forearms.
(19:52):
No, they're in no good checkto be earnest. And we we don't
see swamp thing get out of theplane, but we see him cooling them
on. I don't I feel badfor Emcy Gaine that rough terrain. Could
you rather do this or do whatAndy you frame did? Oh yeah,
so much short a distance and farless fecal mash room. So I'm gonna
(20:15):
go with this one. Yeah, well this one but narrated by Morgan Friend.
So, Mark, I what youwere saying about, like all these
actors being in this movie. SoI wasn't an adult when this came out.
But was it like seen as likea pretty like who's who of a
(20:41):
cast at the time or is itjust in retrospect now that we're like,
holy, like so many people arein this movie and this was a who's
who Because in ninety four, MichaelMichael T. Williamson was blowing up from
Heat and Forrest Gump like he wasnews at the time. Nicholas Cage was
(21:03):
coming off of his oscar for leavingLas Vegas and he had done the rock
like he was huge. Umi wasIncausemi was popping with Desperado Fargo like he
was was kind of blowing up atthe time. Then you had Ving Rains
off of pulp fiction and get Shortylike he was a big name. Yeah,
John Cusack, who John Cusack wasin the in the midst of like
(21:26):
what Groves point blank and like hewas he was like really doing like a
he was crushing it. Also Renoli, who Ronaldi Santiago who plays Sally can
Dance, was coming off of HackersDangerous Minds. And so I was watching
this movie and everybody kept popping up. I'm like, what is happening?
Like this is big? Uh whatRachel and Rachel Tikotin to trom To coachin
(21:52):
from Total Recall, I was like, whoa, um, like it was
it was? It wasn't because thisis Bruckheimer and and Michael Bay had been
around for a while. They madeDays of Thunder and a few other movies.
But and they always put really goodcharacter actors in these movies. But
I think at fifteen, you know, I didn't notice all the character actors
(22:15):
in Beverly Hills, Cop and TopGun when I was twelve or ten,
But at fifteen, this is whenI really started noticing all the character actors
in in Bruckheimer productions, Like sucha deep bench of actors in these movies.
So I think that's probably the first. Like Wayne grow was killed in
the rain fight in the beginning, the dude from Heat, who's such a
dirt bag in that movie. Andso the whole time you're yeah, Wayne
(22:37):
grows here like hackers, Like you'relike freaking from hackers? Is in this
like it was? It was peopletold me it shouted up, No,
I'm joking, like marks, weknow who they are. Stopped. This
was. This was loaded. Itreally was like, uh and I think
this The Rock and Face Off hadso many character actors popping up in them,
so yeah, this was everyone wasfor an act movie that as silly
(23:00):
as this one is, it hasa deep bench. Yeah, and those
are all the films that I firstsaw all these people in. I I
first saw this I was ten andit came out since and I would have
seen this like thirteen fourteen, Solike this, Armagedon, Face Off,
all those kind of things that haveall these actors in smaller roles. And
that's where I know him from.Sweet Steven Shaming has always been like,
oh the crazy guy on Transport, craz Dementia, That's that's where I know
(23:26):
him from. It. I justwait, he's actually getting like serious stuff
Like if I can watch those andhave a great time, Yeah, I
just I just I started watching everysingle movie, every movie that came out
probably when I was about ten,so I knew all the R rated stuff,
you know, so I was familiarwith restaurairt dogs like eleven. I
(23:47):
remember thinking there was way too manyswear words. I'm like, I remember
thinking myself like, this is toomuch for me. I remember feeling that
too many times. But then Ikept watching it like but I was like,
yeah, I was like, yeah, whatever, I'm here, So
yeah, it's it was. Itwas just odd, you know, because
action stars at the time, forme, it was it was only a
few. I feel like it wasSchwarzenegger, Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Kanu
(24:12):
Keyanu hadn't become a super action staryet and JCBD, Steven Seagal, so
I you just look at like youthink of the same eight action characters.
So then watching John Cusacket on amotorcycle with Nick Cage, it really really
like blew my mind a little bit. Yeah, yeah, it's beautiful.
(24:33):
That is good. Yeah, hey, I think that's the most loose that
I've ever been on Kanie of thepodcast. So thank you Jessica for asking
a really insightful question from me.That was great. It is just fun
like seeing this because well we didn'tsay this at the top. Well,
I didn't say this at the top, but I had never seen this before,
and I really didn't know much aboutit. Like I knew that it
(24:56):
was about a plane jacking, butI honestly he didn't even know that the
premise was that it was like transportingprisoners, like I kind of thought maybe
it was like some prisoners that wereon like an other plane or something like
a commercial plane. So I reallywas discovering this movie pretty much from top
(25:18):
to bottom. Awesome. Tell usabout your experience so well, besides in
the cage being in it, Ididn't know anyone else that was in it,
like no one, So it wasreally and Monica Potter of course,
of course Monica Potter um and whichI only knew because of this podcast to
(25:44):
be fair. Um. So itwas really fun seeing, you know,
the depth of all the actors andeverything. The movie itself. It was
definitely a fun ride. It's isvery I was laughing a lot through it,
And I don't know if it waslike it's like in a similar way
(26:07):
to Face Off, Like there's justso many like ridiculous things that happen,
and I don't know how intentional itwas to be like laugh out loud at
certain points, like I'm sure theywanted they had they inserted some you know,
humorous visuals on purpose. But Idid really enjoy the movie overall,
(26:29):
and it was just very nineties, very nineties. The music especially felt very
nineties, and the how Do ILive Without You? Like that was like
the first time when that started playingwhere I started laughing because I was like,
this is so just like Armageddon,Like so many movies during that time
(26:52):
period just had like a stong thatwas like the ballad of the movie kind
of thing. So it was thatpart was fun to me. And like
in this scene, the part wherelike Nick Cage has his like hero shot
where he like rolls over and you'relike, obviously he's not dead, but
like he rolls over, the musiclike picks up and he's in his like
(27:15):
white tank top and light blue jeansand his crazy ass hair. I'm like,
this is so nineties, it couldn'tbe at another time. And what
do you think about every day? It's just that slow turn, kind of
limping, hunched over, stiff andsoul to me every morning and a bloody
tank top. Yeah, yeah,I need to change my alarm cloak to
(27:37):
be that, Like, dude, that was a school when he gets up
that that's gonna be my alarm too. What did you think about Jack Nick
Cage? Just like he's like justa piece of Rebar in this movie,
like knowing him. Like, I'msure, I know you've probably watched a
decent amount of Nicolas Cage movie, but like, what do you think about
Rebar Nicolas Cage and this was it? Did it catch you off guard a
(28:00):
little bit? I feel like I'veseen him do so many different things at
this point that I was just like, oh, this is another just like
Nick Cage like look like that combinedwith the long hair, it definitely striked
a certain look that was very likevery this Like you could see that his
(28:23):
look in this and be like,oh that's him and Connor like you you
would instantly know like that's what thatwas from. Yeah, he's not the
rock excitement every film he has hehas. That's a really good point.
So you shouldn't be surprised if helooks different in a movie because he always
looks different in his movies. KickAss to Joe, that's a totally different
Nicolas Cage. Yeah, then yougo to Mandy. That's a really good
(28:48):
point. And like moon Struck,he's like kind of scrawny in that,
like, yeah, eighties his eightiesface, no but no, and Birdie
he was huge, so so yeah, he bounced all over the place.
He went from really huh, it'slike Christie Bao. Yeah, well,
Skinny, Okay, before I forgetexactly the same, I want you to
(29:11):
rank these songs. Iris by GurguDolls all right, Uh, the Titanic
song, what is it? TheTitanic song not Falling Slowly? It's yes,
here in your Arms? No,that's tars That the Titanic So,
um, what's the name of it? I'll be in your Arms? No,
(29:32):
that that's what the Tarzan Again, what's the name of the Titanic song?
My Heart Will go On? Okay, Iris, my Heart will go
on. I don't want to missthe thing, the move, the one
from this song? How Do ILive? And what's another power ballad?
From the one from Robin Hood?Yeah? Everything I do, I do
(29:52):
it for you? And Wait andKiss from a Rose so those sick?
Sure? Yeah? What's Iris fromfrom the other Nicholas Case Angel movie with
Nicholas Cage, Oh City Evangels.Yeah, I didn't see that one.
That was a huge Jay Iris thesong, so I just don't know what
films forgot it. Kistoma Rose isnumber one. I think Titanic for me
(30:17):
is number two. Tricia Yearwood,I don't want to miss a thing,
The Prince of Thieves song, andwe had one more Irish Everything I Do,
I think is number three for me, because that's that's a good one.
I think I could belt it wasnumber one, It was number one
(30:37):
for seventeen years. It just itnever left. The Iris was definitely big
for me when I when that cameout, like if that was I was
like, that is love, thatis what love is. When I was
a kid, I was like,oh that's emotions. Um so that I'll
(31:00):
that is number four and then howdo I live? As number five?
And for me, I don't wantto miss a thing is gonna be last.
But that one, you know thatis I can built that too.
I don't know. These are allgood songs to sing in the car.
I love that you said that too, because whenever a Google Doll song comes
on in the car, I'm singingif he than one song, Iris,
(31:22):
Black Balloon Slide, I have onesong. I was listening Ever Clear the
other day, one of their firstalbums. They had some pretty dark stuff.
Ridiculous started on Counting Crows, misterJones. I listen, okay,
quick story. I was in anineteen nineties cover band. It's called Johnny
(31:45):
Party and the Furious Funsters, andI really wanted to sing mister Jones,
and my entire band vetoed me fromsinging it, like, Mark, you
can't do that. Why I was, I'm not a good singer, so
like I could do damn it byblink on a two, I could do,
you know, more like heavier, like pop punk songs, but like
(32:06):
a song like that, mister Joeoh Man, we saved the audience from
a lot of you. We weretrying to save you from trying to hit
those high notes. Mister. Yeah, maybe I should have done. It
would have made everyone laugh. Mark, you should always be singing, mister
Jones out of the Counting cross Andhere's the thing. Whenever I couldn't hit
a high note during every show,I would just put the mic out to
the audience because I was like,I can't hit this song from tells Us
(32:28):
So I was like teen Spirit orsay it ain't so, so I'll just
put the mic out and everyone elsewould sing it. We would go on
at like one thirty am when everyonewas bombed, so it didn't matter.
A big song and just have guys, I can't hit any of these notes.
I have a time travel. That'swhere I'm going. Is so one
of your nineties cover band shows, because I'd love to be that. I
(32:50):
don't know, Pep too, Mark, you should do it thing, mister
Jones. Look at the beautiful women. Just incept that idea, and that's
what the entire movie of Inception is. They put that into my bandmate's heads
that I sang mister Jones. AtBig Daddies, I wore like bread pearl
snap shirts and then I had likea mohawk. Yeah. Then I shaved
(33:15):
the mohawk and people didn't like it, and I kind of went into like
a biker phase with fleeveless shirts. It was weird looks for different years.
Yeah. When the mohawk left,I think we kind of went down because
the whole gimmick I think was themohawk. I lost confidence. I was
like Jermaine in the Hippopopotamus versus RhymeNoceros attempts to freestyle, he loses confidence.
(33:39):
That was me without my mohawk inthis Yeah, listen, please get
a time like please time travel andbe like, so you were able to
time travel, what'd you pack? What did you do any event in the
world. I went back to Tallahasseein two thousand and five and I watched
a band called Johnny Party in theFurious Functers Place nineties covers like that's oh
(34:04):
yeah, it was in top I'mout. Then I can't go to Tallahassee.
Sorry, Mark. Oh no,So what do you got to use
your time travel for? Then?I guess kill Hitler or something like that.
Yeah, wow, I want thismovie now one, But I have
a two buttons. I can eithergo back and kill like a horrible fit
(34:27):
figure from history, or I cango to see your nineties cover band.
It's a fifty fifty shot. Whicheverone I'm gonna pick at the time.
I mean, think about it.The butterfly effects. You would really drastically
change the world if you killed Hitler, Like, who knows where anybody would
be right now? I wouldn't.I probably probably wouldn't be here. And
(34:49):
if we if I wouldn't saw yourband and I encourage you to do,
mister Jones, then you would belike, um, the end of hot
Tub time Machine right now, Iwould I would have no r M,
just christin Glover. Is that whatyou're saying? No, you would have
gone on to like create your ownrock band and be famous and rich like
Loogle log. Yeah didn't he didn't, Lou didn't he invent Loogle instead of
(35:14):
Google. He invented a bunch ofthings and he stole a bunch of Van
Hillen songs. Yeah, so Icould be famous, wouldn't that seems like
ope altering all of history in mankind? If you let me sing that song,
I feel like it would be theend of twelve Monkeys when that guy
unleashes the virus and Bruce Willis can'tstop him. Like, I feel like
(35:37):
that's what you would be starting ifyou let me perform, mister Jones.
That's that's where the world would beright now. You would be the world
just spins off its accent of thesun. Yeah, you would be all
you'd be. You would be timetraveling right now with Brad Pitt and he
would be eating his fingernails Like that'swhat the world would be and there'd be
drafts running around like that's what theworld. It would be chaos. So
(36:01):
I want to see it. Sojust don't do it. Don't you shouldn't
do this, but it sounds thethings. Just go back the time.
Watch Deep Lucy in the theater,or the Lighthouse again in the theater.
Come, you know, just watchit again. I'll go back and not
say that one thing that I stillthink about that I said, but no
one else remembers that I ever saidit, and then I can live in
(36:22):
peace. You already have one ofthose. Wow, that's that's an impressive
life. I enview you, man, any of those on podcasts. I
would I could do a long Icould do a long December. I could
do that, or I could doAccidentally in Love maybe, but not mister
(36:44):
Jones. Yeah, okay, okay. New Found Glory they have From the
Screen to Your Stereo Volumes one throughthree. Have you heard of it?
They do pop punk covers of songsfrom like Karate Kid and Back to the
Future. So if you're in aNewfound Glory on Spotify whatever, look at
From the Scream to Your Stereo. They have really fun covers of really popular
(37:06):
songs from movies your recommendation. I'vedownloaded the move but haven't listened to me.
Yes, do they cover how DoI Live Without You? Yeah?
Yeah, that's the first. Wait, no, no, no, no,
I mix that up with the Aerosmithsong. They haven't covered that one.
What's the Aeroso song? I don'twant to miss a thing. They
did that one, but no,do you know about the two two people
(37:29):
singing that song, right, TrishaYearwood and the other one, Yeah Rhymes
lean Rhymes. Do you know aboutthat story? Um? I guess not.
I mean I know who they aresingers, but if there's a specific
story, then I don't know.Yeah. So they both recorded the song.
(37:50):
Trisha Yearwood won the Grammy for it, but Trish but lean Rhymes performed
on that Grammy's that song and shesold millions of copies and it became one
of the highest selling songs of alltime. How does that happen? Because
they heard Leanne Rhymes sing it,and they're like, she's too young,
she's fifteen, she doesn't have anysoul. Let's go get Tricia Yearwood to
(38:13):
sing it because she'll she'll she's awoman, she knows. So they had
her sing it. I'm paraphrasing, but that's what they said. And but
then leon Rhymes was more popular. But Trishia Yearwoods won the Grammy same same
song. I saw it was nominatedfor an Oscar too, but I didn't
check to see what it lost against. Oh wait, wasn't this the same
year as Titanic? It was theTitanic. Yeah, yeah, you can't
(38:38):
lose. That's a that's a toughone. She she didn't send a chance.
No, maybe if I sang it, it would have stood a chance.
You had the soul at fifteen tosay to say that. Yeah,
I like Leanne Rhymes. I couldhave belted that song out done like a
(39:00):
pop punk cover. Yeah, Iguess it just be a pump punk version.
Yeah, pop punk version of it. Yeah yeah. I love pop
punk and I love covers. There'ssome good Taylor Swift covers floating out there.
Just want to let y'all know. So, so, Jess, you've
landed on a lucky chapter to everything. One of the things we've planted on
this show is every time we losea con we need to decide what it
(39:23):
is they did. And this isthe last time we see two of the
convicts, Viking and Chos, they'rein the they're in the lineup being countered
by Larkin. We haven't determined whatthey do yet. So now you get
to help us to what these guysdid. What did Viking do? Viking
(39:44):
is the tall blonde guy who's like, that's a rock. So what's that?
That's a rock? Here's that guy, m what did he do to
end up in prison? Yes?Over in mind, these are the worst
of the worst, so it's goingto be something bad. I can see
him being like a henchman, likea luggish henchman for someone who's like an
(40:07):
actual like criminal like masterman. Maybenot a mastermind, but you know,
I don't see him calling the shots. He seems more like he's like the
brute force kind of guy. Somaybe he, you know, took some
people out in service of his employer, whoa sure, So he's like a
assassin henchman kind. Yeah, butI mean assassin sounds fancy for him.
(40:32):
He's not like a Shannon in theIceman. I think it's more like,
hey, go beat that guy up, and then he just goes and beats
that guy up, but he killshim, much like Nicolas cage at the
beginning of this movie. Sure, okay, I like that. Yeah,
that works. Yeah. And theother guy is Carlos, who is the
(40:53):
guide next to him, Yeah, the guy next to him in the lineup
between him and Saari Kandas, whohas done less than Viking. He's just
kind have been present this whole time. I don't mean, I can't even
picture his face. Okay, Well, so that's Amelio Rivera, right,
(41:13):
yes, okay, So what didCarlos do? He's one of the worst
of the worst. Let's see,he's one of the worst. Who says
that? What did he have anickname? Did he for? We know?
Carlos is his nickname is? Yourname is Fred? Okay, so
Carlos. Maybe he got that fromhe lost a car Carlos. Oh no
(41:37):
wait, wait, who's the who'sis here? A um? Carlos very
tired. Seems like a hit man. He does, I don't know.
I mean, yeah, he's anactual hit man. I like that.
And he just got caught and hekilled a ton of people. He's about
to be in lame and hot uhRito's snack story. He's like, why
(42:00):
you building that? So maybe hekilled somebody with flaming hot Cheetos there it
is? Yes, I like thathe killed someone with. I mean they're
quite sharp. I've never had one, so I don't know. If you
have. You like a dense Freetono Frito or Cheeto cheeto. A dense
(42:22):
Cheeto could do some damage. Adense Cheeto is the Touchlos episode. Yeah?
Yeah. If I was in ahot shot spart due and I had
to pick a weapon to like afood to fight with on my knuckles,
I would definitely pick Cheetos. Areyou sure it's not like in seven?
(42:43):
Like he doesn't like make people eatflaming hot Cheetos until they perish? How
many would that change? How manyCheetos would you have to eat? How
flaming hot are they are? Theynever had one? Maybe I've never had
a flaming hot Cheeto. I don'tenjoy them. I don't. They're not
that hot. I mean they're hot. You wouldn't You couldn't handle a jay?
(43:07):
Thanks? Okay, okay, whatif he put some wild sanity stuffs
on it? He put some daysin Sanity sauce on flaming hot Cheetos and
feeds people that that's like, that'sthey could make eight with that movie,
the sequel to seven about a guywho just flaming hot cheetos people. So
(43:31):
that's all right, I just needto go back in this. I've had
spici of food since we together,Jess. I have like stotch scotch bonnet
sauce of my fish finger sandwich yesterday. Did you like to get it?
I'm getting older. My palette isdeteriorating. Are you eating your vegetables?
Oh ridiculous. I eat all thevegetabs of which is which is none?
(43:54):
Scurvy, You're not a vegetable time. I know salad every day. I
love that. I have never eatenthe salads. I love salad. Yeah,
almost every night I eat a salad. I don't understand how people can
look at a salad and approach itwhich as a means of food. I
don't know where you would begin.I don't know how you would ingest it
(44:15):
doesn't I don't understand tomatoes. Youget some salmons be through this we have
it's a song. First day they'retomatoes. I'm big in than tomatoes.
I love tomatoes. I had somethe other day I didn't like them.
We ordered a pizza and they camewith tomatoes on it, the little ones
(44:39):
I don't like. I don't likehot tomatoes. Sure, so I kind
of plowed through and had them anyway. They consumed them. I didn't enjoy
it. I consumed them. Yeah, I don't unders I don't like to.
I tell you what. I don'ttrust people that eat tomatoes tomato soup.
(44:59):
Never had it. I don't reallycare us it either. I don't
get it. Maybe if we hada cheese dunking mechanism, sure like I
would. It's like a sauce.But I could just never take a spoon
into tomato soup. I've had twokinds of soup in my life. I've
had chicken and I've had buttonnut squash. I got to them both. But
(45:19):
that's that's what actually. No,when we were in Iceland, Jesz was
that tomato soup we had in thatJesla went twice and the other we went
to the hot spring place. Theyhit soup. Oh that place cleans out
your pores. Really it was tomatoof soup. Then I've had I've had
tomato soup, but that was aboutthe bread. The bread, Yeah,
(45:43):
they had like love they cook undergroundcool it leaves you wanting. I just
don't. I don't get it.I don't trust tomato soup, but I'm
all about tomatoes. Well, speakingof LoVa bread, something else that was
cut from the script was a volcano. Our friend of the show is true.
It's the perfect segue my friendshow NickRey could be on against him.
He was on against the first episodethat his go to making a fake ending
(46:07):
of a film is the volcano orrobs. I think if if he's like
trying to tell somebody about how afilm fake ends, and then the volcano
rubs and which I've adopted as well. Volcano the fake volcano casino like volcano
is between Larkin and Poe when theysee Cyrus in the screen and it erupts
as they see him. I don'tknow how would that have beever happened?
(46:31):
I don't know. I don't understand. But there they're like standing there between
like the lava and the debris,it's around them as they see Cyrus.
Does Kit Harrington come out and challengethem to a fight? Absolutely? He
does. Like a three year oldKitt Harrington probably would have been Jay.
(46:51):
Who's the person at forty four secondsin this clip who is the person is
a guard? Is that is that? Who is that? Is that?
Well? The guy the guy onthe other side of baby. Yeah,
I think that's that's a guard becausewe see two of the guards get off.
We see the guards hang on EarlBillings and I think Greg Collins,
(47:15):
there's an actors. We see themget off mutual. They ad Billy Devlin
we do not see so that couldbe him, and I don't Is he
moving, Yes, he's moving.Yes, I think that's Billy Devil.
I think that's the other guy.I was like, did this guy die?
The guard? Parish could not enoughpeople died in this plane crash,
like one Johnny twenty three is theonly person died because of the plane crash.
(47:37):
Just talked about that. Yet wehaven't even talked about how Johnny twenty
three is upright? Severed from hisarm? How is he upright? What?
Because in the script I loved Ilove this bit in the script.
In the script, you only seethe arm. The paramedics get on board,
look down and like recoil and thenthey just take the arm away and
(48:00):
leap. There's the rest of himhas been like pulverized into pulp that you
can't take him away, so justhit the arm away. And the script
literally has the word you not fromsomebody saying it. This is a description
of what we're seeing. That conveysa lot, though, That conveyed everything.
Why didn't they just have the propellerto take him out. That would
(48:22):
make so much more sense than thanhis arm just going his body, because
I'd always assume it was a case. But last week we discovered that after
the propellers going through, he isstill intact. So his arm just disconnected.
Daniel was wrenched. You can't sayit being dislocated, but dislicated and
(48:45):
detached. Garland, Garland, that'sit, Garland did it. Yeah,
we don't see the joint it atterallybite masks go around. He got it.
He got some trapnel from the planeand cut his arm off, and
it's just perfectly enough that his bodyis still able to like stay upright next
(49:07):
to the arm. Well, God, him kind of propped him up after
mangling. That's his name, OhGarland, you stilly, silly billing and
cut his arm off and propped himup. So I think one of these
guys that is attending to the remainsof Johnny twenty three is Bill Cusack,
(49:28):
brother of John, because he isin this film as as Vegas paramedic,
well just as paramedic, and Ifeel like this will be the scene where
he is. But none of theseguys look like Bill Cusack. I went
through every paramedic in this scene.I checked future scenes. None of them
a books in it somewhere. Soit's got to be him. You give
him a lot of keeps his healthinsurance going for another year with SAG.
(49:51):
Yeah, it has to take careof your brother. Give him some residuals.
Johnny sees supplying for his family. That's what it is. So there
are some other changes from the scripts. I want to mention. They have
a cool back to another blunt ofbaby O going to pose for a barbecue.
After they will get out and theystart describing the barbecue and what food,
(50:14):
what food Poe would have at thebarbecue. We had a whole barbecue
chapter as far as barbecue and ittakes good. So will be serving red
hot baby backs, hominy grits, black eyed peas, into beans, iced
tea, and they're so cold youreyes or water. That's what's being served.
(50:34):
That it was barbecue. No,I don't know what most of those
things are. Oh okay, let'sstart with my first question. Then we'll
up. We'll have to circle back. Was this actually going to be dialogue?
They were going to say all ofthese words? Okay, I wasn't
sure if this is like a newthing like in the scripts. Okay,
(50:57):
can you can you describe again theseitems? They are so red hot red
hot baby backs. Is that ripes? Yeah? Grits probably with hot su
Sure I've had those ingredients separate homonygrits. I have seen my cousin Vinnie.
Grits look like. I still don'tunderstand what they are. I love.
(51:22):
I could have googled these things.I didn't. Well, it's doing
now I know what harmony is.It's but I can't remember what it comes
from like I've had it before.Let's see what is how many grits R
drinking dried soaking, dried corn kernelsand an alkali solution to remove the outer
(51:45):
holes. The soaked corn kernels arethen dried and grounded too grits. They
generally have a finer texture than ourstone ground grits, so it's just a
different texture of grit that is beingserved. Grit soaks disgusting. I love
them butter and some jelly. Yeah, I love some grits, a type
of corridge made from boiled corn meal. Pops. What's next? Oh,
(52:12):
where's it gone? What's next?Black eyed peas and pinto beans. Well,
that's self explanatory. Yes, theband and pinto beans. I assume
if the black eyed peas before me, I'm not going. I mean,
that's just what they are. There'snothing extra to it. It's their black
(52:35):
eyed peas, pinto beans. It'sbeans, Okay. They're based beans that
boasts an earthy taste and firm yetcreamy texture after cooking. Some people associate.
While some people associate pinto beans withblack eyed peas, in certain recipes,
they can be easy. They caneasily be substituted in soups, salads,
or other dishes. Okay, Ilove black eyed peas. I know
(53:00):
what iced tea is. Never Ilike my unsweet iced tea. You gotta
order unsweet iced tea. That's mine. That's mine too. I don't go
for sweet and tea. Just unsweettea tastes great because sweet teas like seventy
five sugar in the cup and thenjust a little and then and then ten
(53:22):
percent ice and then just some unsweettea. That's for sure. No,
I want and bear so cold youreyes of the water. I can't stand
beer, so I'm not going tothis barbecue. Your eyes with water,
but not with joy. Most popularbeer in Alabama. The most popular beer
(53:46):
is Budweiser. Mm hmm, SoBudweiser is the most popular beer in Alabama,
so he would have incredibly cold Budweiser. Sure, I'm pausing on this
barbecue. I much preferred the bubecuefood that you served at your wedding,
Jeff. That was beautiful bubeque food. I still think about regularly, some
(54:07):
of the best. It was textingme about it the other day. It
was kind of hard. I'm like, cool, when'd you have this?
I love bubecue food, still thinkabout it. So that's that's from script.
Also, when Sally Caun't Dance getsoff the plane we talked about the
last chapter is funny. She initiallythought that they made it to Sindino's plane.
(54:30):
This is all the lights anyway,She thinks he reporter and Tomade's the
camera and start talking on screen aboutwhat she's going to be writing a book
and all this whole experience, andshe's gonna she's gonna be on the talk
shows on not to feel Opra andJerry Spring, which good, which would
have been nice to have that becauseSally doesn't get a whole lot to do
in this film. Just goes ah, just gets her, gets her hair
pulled and yes, which way toorough? Why is why is Markin putting
(54:54):
on Sally's head like that? It'sclear which which in made that is?
It's not It's definitely not cyrus becausethere's hair to pull on at least the
Vikings. He's got a healthy head, but he's too big maybe for pole
Po doesn't want to pull his hairand real quick Sally Bishop gets come on
(55:15):
now like she has to smooth kiss. Yes, that's what I was getting
to get out of here. Youare a badass person. You don't need
to smooth be smooching on Poe odd. I also feel like this is such
a movie trope that like the womankissing the guy's cheek, like no people,
(55:38):
I mean, I've never been likethrowing such a harrowing situation, but
I wouldn't kiss someone on the cheekfor it Like it's gonna be bloodied and
dirty and not unhygienic for one thing. Just imagine the roles are reversed and
it was like a mixed inmate flightsomehow, and sat he got off,
(56:00):
sorry, Bishop got off at theCarson City and fous On was there the
whole time. And at the endhere fou was on and having this and
then fous On gives him a packon the cheek. Not gonna happen,
Like, there's been no kind ofright me, soul can call MENI on
the other side, you get thedoubles from call me. Yeah, there's
(56:22):
been no hint of romance or anythingbetween Horman and Bishop the whole flight.
This I'm not saying this is theromantic kids, but this is just and
there's more to her in the script. Probably find out she hasn't got any
kind of relationship. She just hascats. So this just feels like sadder
even still, how do they cutthat from it's just hate, I hate
I hate this kiss. It doesn'tYeah, and it's straight after he's like,
(56:45):
yeah, I gotta go see mywife and kid. Stay away from
me. Woman. Yeah. Itjust and I mean, she doesn't get
to do a whole lot in themovie. I could have seen her maybe
do slightly more ass kicking at somepoint, but you also like never get
the impression that she's like overly sentimentaleither. So it just feels like,
(57:08):
oh, we need this to happen, we need to throw this in.
Yeah, she got, she got. She hit Cyrus in the face with
a gun and she punched a knockedout only twenty three her two main action
beats. And you could argue thatthe whole plane takeover was her fault because
she let Pinball take her keys.Oh my gosh early on if you wanted
(57:30):
to go down that room, whichwe don't like to do, so she
was a total recall. Though she'sin turbulence the same year. But come
on, now, don't I stillwant that foul Zalance moves Now, Yeah,
that would be great. But yeah, the kiss not in the script,
and her little joke of next timetake the bus in the script is
(57:52):
take the train. I think busis funnier. We could have a Connie
or two Dark Territory, Yeah, and then Conner three Scumbus Scumbus back to
the UK remake of Scumbus. Yeah, we came up with the remake of
Conner called Scumbus with Norbert. It'sin the UK. It's on a bus,
(58:13):
a double decker bus. Yeah, scum bus from Wales down south and
up to Scolding. You said hijacking. That could be a name for like
it could be high because it's aplane jacking, not just hi like hijacking.
Mm hmm. Sorry, I justthought about that because I remember you
said hijacking earlier, Like that couldbe that could be a knockoff of this
(58:36):
movie called Hijack and the character iscalled Jack King Jacking, Hi jacking,
and he's snorting cocaine the whole time. Yeah, this ripping, this ripping
on this chill but who whok Rayleiotagood stars Jack. But you know yeah
(59:02):
yeah that rights itself every plas couldnot cocaine for an entire movie. I
think. I'm sure she absolutely good. Yeah. There's a deleted scene in
the section as well, where whenSally gets on the plane, she's like
men in uniforms, like the factthat she's been surrounded by men wearing uniforms
(59:25):
the entire day, all day.And then in the script it describes Larkin
and Malloy exploding out of the helicoptersbo landing. He's like, does not
explode out was helicopter. It's quitean awkward clamber I found. Yeah,
there's no explosions when it's cobra lance. Yeah, I can't remember what.
(59:45):
Why was the baby o in present? I'm clear, never never found out.
We have our theories, but nevernever confirmed. Our theory is that's
was he supposed to be the worstof the worst. Is a nice guy,
so you gotta make it like agood thing. So theory was he
was trying to steal some insulin froma pharmacy because he has by something if
(01:00:06):
it's mentioned in the filmaltl Uh andit's like an indictment on the US health
system, and he breaks into thewrong place and he ends up like blowing
up the whole police chiefs family, and so there's like a police chief has
a vendetta against me. He's nevergot out of prison. He's gonna stay
forever just because he made this citymistake. Oh poor baby. Yeah,
(01:00:27):
also had a long time before oneof one of those parole letters with my
name when it's like what did youdo? What a roofe? What did
you do? So I assume that, um, he does survive, because
we don't have anything on the contrary, but yeah, we have to this
is the last we see him.But yeah, sure he had he got
(01:00:49):
his insulin. He then immediately gotshot, but then he got into an
evidence of just after being in aplane crash. So he's definitely gonna well,
yeah, he's gonna live for probablythe next two hundred years. Based
on Yeah, Rough Day for Baby, that's the alternate title, A Rough
Day for Baby. Oh knere four. I mean from the film, from
(01:01:14):
his perspective, is kind of terrible. He's like, gets on a plane,
he doesn't get he doesn't get offbecause he misses out on the whole
on the road field. He justgets to sit there. Well it was
Johnny twenty three Trusts of Rape GodBishop, and then he can't help and
then yeah, he gets out,you get a shot. Then he gets
in baptes. Rough Day for Baby, A Bad Day Baby, Oh not
(01:01:37):
Black black Rock, A Bad Dayof Black Rock. Have you seen that
movie? Yes? Actually no,I haven't. That's on my list.
It's let's see a different film,A couple of the name of days on
four hours asleep, y'all. Yeah, A rough David Jay over right,
that's another movie. A Rough Dayfor Day much more boring day and then
(01:01:59):
go cleaning up the woman painting offense. Joe. Yeah, So, Jess,
do you have any more thoughts onthis chapter or corn Air as a
whole. Looking over my notes,I think we covered everything, you know.
I will just say one other thingabout um Johnny twenty three's arm hanging.
(01:02:22):
That is pretty cool, Like thatis a good ending to that character,
and like it's because you know, you followed. The tattoo has been
like a talking point throughout the movie. It does have like a very cool
wrap up to that, and Idon't know, I just like that.
(01:02:42):
He could have gone out several ways, but the fact that, like the
tattoos, the focus of his demiseis was pretty well done. If you
could have a prop from the film, would you like a hanging Johnny twenty
three, M it's like a lightfixture or something I'm gonna pass. Sure
makes sense. That's clearly like afake hand that's in someone's house. And
(01:03:07):
I want the shirt with the sharpiewritten message on it. Yeah, like
that? What prop would you pick? I take the rock to take the
rock, Yeah, that's the rockfrom Conning. Or wait, I climb
out the rock. No, it'sI mean the bunny is the obvious one.
(01:03:31):
I don't want the bunny. That'stoo obvious stuff. I would take
it all of cagous films. Iwant the string of pearls from the Green
Gas where it is called Sarah guesswhere it is from? Uh? From
the rock from this one. Imean, I don't hate to hang it
(01:03:53):
arm. You can make into somekind of a flower thing, have like
roses thoat around it. But that'slike, no, no, let's not
too that. You would keep thesevered arm of a character, rapist character
from a movie as like a reminderof he's dead. I turn into like
(01:04:14):
a light pul wasn't it. Iwould take the pinball machine from Moll's Wonderland.
Yeah, Pimball's lunch books. That'swhat I thought from this. Want
to take Pimball's lunch books and hedoesn't get worse clipp have you all talked
about? Is that Nick Cage's actualhair or was he wearing a hairpiece for
that luscious mullet of his. Ithad to be because but he bounced between
(01:04:40):
this and base off, so Ithink it might have been extensions. Could
you could take that Jay? Youcould pop that bad boy? On.
You know you're going out on thetown. I put on my toga.
You know much confidence you would haveif you put that on going about two.
(01:05:02):
Well, your tank top and jeansm like washing cheeks. I do
not own a tank top. I'venever won a tank jay. You just
show up at work and just taketwo chairs, two desks, and everyone
just lets you because the hair justspeaks for itself. I already have two
desks, I've already come in downa second desk. Nice someone left.
(01:05:28):
You could take three desks. Youcould have a chat. You could build
a fort with that hair, alook cubicle to sleep in. Okay,
apparently it is a wig. Well, did you have any more fools on
this jobs? No, this iswonderful, and really know either this is
great? Yes, I mean, this is the first time I've realized that
(01:05:49):
there's there's like five female characters inthis film, and two of them with
Sally. I've never I've never clickedon that before. Oh well, it
is hard to think of women's names. So yeah, and Sadi Condance her
like born name is Salvatory Candoza.Anyway, Oh, I have one other
(01:06:15):
thing, sure, So I lovehow every character in this movie has got
to have a nickname. Even MonicaPotter, common Bird, She's got to
have a name name, a littleCasey's name. Oh nick. Cage's accent
too beautiful, perfect, outstanding.I mean, you know, wy,
(01:06:43):
it's outstanding in another way. Ilaughed constantly. Do you think this movie
would be as memorable if he dida regular cagean accent, just cage?
Do you think this movie has hadsuch a life because of his accent?
Because people continuously talk about you doyou know what I mean? Like he
contributes a lot. Yeah, partof it is the hair. It's like
(01:07:06):
ten per five percent the jacked muscles, and then like forty five percent hair
and then fifty percent accent. That'swhat this role is. I feel like
he has a bunch of other filmsthat are iconic, and I've gone down
in history where he, like inthe Wickhaman doesn't have much of an accent.
(01:07:27):
He's just nicked age and that's gone. But that's ridiculous, that's lunacy.
That's so that's like eighty five percentterrible script. Bees not the Bees
has seen cut from the UK version. How do you take one of the
best movie? I mean, Ilike that they made some interesting changes,
but Wolf, that's bad. Yeah, the Wickhaman gremake is diabolical. I
(01:07:50):
will say his accent in Colorado Spacetakes me way out of the movie,
more than the one in conn Air. What kind of accent is that?
Well, he starts doing the reallyweird inflections that don't feel because I can't
even do it. I couldn't eventry. But it's not like a regional
dialects, No, it's it's hisdialogue. He just his inflection takes you
(01:08:15):
right outleast this at least he's likehis inflection changes through the movie, so
at least in this one, he'salways a genteel Alabamian just trying to I
love that so much that well, yes, do you have anything you want
to plug? It's better than raceBalls accents or Benedict Cumberbatch sure better than
(01:08:36):
Brendan Gleason's similar accent. It's thesame accent. Same Yeah. Anyway,
yes, plugs anything to promote yourfirst um. I would just say,
if you haven't listened to the Lighthouseepisode from the Deep Blue Sea podcast that
Jay and I had a great timediscussing that movie, and there's some great
(01:09:01):
accents in that movie, so thatwas an ext episode. You should also
listen to the episodes on Footy seven, Mesas Down for Some Meets Down,
Uncaged, and Sphere, also featuringJess. She is second most frequent guests
Everyone podcast after about w episodes.I love I love both those movies.
(01:09:28):
I love them too, excellent,Thank you, Jess. Cave Sharks,
Cave Sharks, Sharks, Blind CaveSharks, Blind Fish, Yeah, Fish
movie Songs of flicks, Deep BlueSea, I got oh. Go to
YouTube. Type in fandom, goto their page, go to a playlist,
click buy the numbers, and Ihave an episode. I watched one
hundred and twenty Chris movies and figuredout who the best Chris was. And
(01:09:53):
then I also watched the Fast andFurious movies and then wrote a so and
wrote about all the stats from Fastand Furious movies. So go watch those.
There's no one called Chris in thefirst movies. That's terrible. How
how have they made it this farwith no Chriss Luda Chris no, just
no, your name is Chris Bridges. I know Jessica was Luda Chris.
(01:10:19):
No, yes, yes, yes, I'm going to run around the house
after that one because it's amazing. He's the best. Chris, He's from
Atlanta. I think it was thispodcast we're doing. People see adjacent films
like the Lighthouse and that kind ofthing. I like this film with my
person so that you can hear meoccasionally hosting maybe trivia everyon Will Hampy's always
(01:10:42):
