Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome to another episode of The
Catch Warriors. The Boys back on the board, first win
in a month. It feels good to be alive.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I am Richard, one of your hosts for today. I'm
joined us always by Michael John. John John. How are you?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
How are you feeling after their Warriors one on the weekend?
Relieve is probably the word, bro. I'm feeling feeling good, relieved.
You know, everyone worries about the you know, the Bikers
when it comes to the Warriors, where we don't think
to get a win after a buye And I saw
some stats as well where they talked about where when
the All Blacks play as well on the same weekend,
we've never won a game apparently. I don't know if
(00:58):
it's back and I don't know if it's just just
of some crab and someone to screw out there. But yeah, no,
comfortable one. So really happy about that. Really happy to
see the boys, you know, take it and get the
campaign back on track.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yeah, I'm with your there. It was pretty you know,
obviously didn't start off at how we're planning.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You know, Tyler's got a quick try, but the boys
sort of bounce back after that. Well and and never
really look about losing, which was which is nice.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
It seemed like it was the first first win at
home for a while. I think they'd lost to two
games at Mount Smart in a row. Yeah, and he.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Had lost yeh, hadn't won about five weeks because of buyers,
and then we've he had a couple of losses. So
just really nice for the boys to get back on
the board against the Tigers that had pecked pecked out
and Mount Smart. Obviously, John, you were supposed to go,
but he couldn't make it a knee bro, how you're
pretty good at about that.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, there's the part of I left out and then
then yeah, supposed to go, supposed to go up there.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
It was for my birthday weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
My wife makes it like an annual thing where he
takes me up to Mount Smart for again, there always
seems to be a home game around my birth which
works well for me. But yeah, the little one got sick,
and you know, it wasn't wasn't fit to fly. So
I'm gonna put the family first, mate, so you gadded,
but you know what, you know, still happy with the win,
So happy the win. Longs we won the game, and
we're gonna go up again another time, so just got
(02:19):
to forget which game to go to.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
But yeah, no guded, but happy with.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
The win, absolutely, Yeah, So it was it was a
good one over the one over the Tigers.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Thirty four in the inn, so we sort of ran
away the end. It was sixteen eight at halftime, but
tries to rock a beery Harris Savid. They've got a
couple of tries in the end, yell and looked sort
of came back to his base. He scored a try
on the corner at eas and your boy, look at
Halla Sema over laying the game to sort of put
(02:51):
the icen on the cake. Tann of boy kicking five
from six, so very very promising signs signs there for
for him and then seven years going forward. And it
just most importantly kicked that four point lead sort of
above fifth place for the Warriors. You know, we talked
last week about whether the Warriors will make them make
(03:13):
the top four and needed to be winning games like that.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
We both said that, so it's good that they could.
They could do it, and they've got another another wonderball
game this weeking as well, and also get some only
four points off their first place with the Raiders out
at the moment, so any think could happen, you know,
if you know, if if the Raiders or the Bulldogs
or the Storm, so they have a couple of losses
and the Warriors take the way back, we could sneak
ourway into sicking the third at the moment. But at
(03:39):
the moment, I'll just be happy with with fourth A
so long way there last.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, Well, to be honest with you, I mean we
we calculated, we did our own quick calculations and look
they were really quick.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
It was just like yes, no, yes, no, and we
and we we we, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Talk into consideration all those teams, whether they will you know,
win their games, lose their games, and where they'll end up.
And we still sort of came to the conclusion that
the Warriors will still remain fourth, but they wouldn't push up.
But you know, the competition has been a bit of
a roller coaster, so many upsets. Let's just hope there'd
be one, you know, they're just works in our favor.
(04:19):
The Broncos played the Titans on the weekend, and I
was really hoping the Titans would just pull up, pull
off something I know they don't had the greatest season,
but I just I just was hoping that they would
pull off something, especially with Kieren for and you know,
announcing it was tirrement.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I thought they were just just.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Rally together to do something, to do something, just to
just to change their their course of the season so
they don't end up last.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
But it didn't happen.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
But no, I think, you know, going back to the Warriors,
we got that four point buffer.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Brisbane are going to buy this week, so that helps them.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
So we're gonna we've got to keep in that winning
ways to keep that sort of their gap.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I think giving their gap is important, but take it
one game at a time for now.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Anyway, Y absolutely sure of just dive in a few
a few interesting stats before we sort of dive into
some of the game and some of the players that
we thought.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
But I just had a couple of stats I thought interesting.
I was surprised position was fifty under forty nine. I
thought it would have been a.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Bit more dominant towards the Warriors considering the score, but
just showed that, you know, it was a sort of
game it was and we were able to sort of
make the most of our chances, we were completing eighty
one percent, so it's about where we're sitting for the season.
Really good completion rate, I think, you know, I'm.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Sure you'd agree is a Warriors theme with set set
through a few seasons over the years, where you know,
we're probably only completing at seventy seventy five percent, so
to be yeah, basically completing eight of teen seats as
it was a good sign. We had one hundred and
eighty runs to one hundred and sixty nine in one thousand,
seven hundred and nine runs to one thousand, three hundred
(05:47):
and forty one of the meters and yeah, I mean
some some big ones. Teen line breaks to three thirty five,
tackle breaks to twenty nine and a kickerturn made us
two hundred and two and only eight.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
So we were able to just take our opportunities, dominated
the steps, so we needed to and keep the two
points so long way that last the big, big talking
point going into the game.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
There was sort of two sort of positional positional changes,
which there was a lot of interesting obviously with Luke
Metcalf going down with his a c L against the
Broncos and Chance sort of been out for four or
five weeks to start at a bet with T Pickie
actually because I thought personally, I thought he had an
absolutely fantastic game. We're obviously both big, big fans of
(06:35):
his and loved to singles praises.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
What was your sort of you happy with to Apookey's
forming their.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Game, John, Oh, definitely.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I mean, I know he's been out in Cup, but
he's that kind of player that can just step back
into the first grade and perform. That's why That's why
I was sort of guaded that he literally was left
out because he was doing so well beforehand. And obviously
he doesn't. I mean he was. He wasn't because a
form you know, for his performance or anything was there
(07:03):
was just because someone else came in. But I just
which I thought it has been out fear because the
person that came into to push them out hasn't had
the greatest season. He had a bit of game DWS
this game, but he hasn't had the greatest of season.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
So but look, you know, T a.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Picky, he starts right back in and like and you know,
he played like he'd never left. He played like he'd
never left the team in first grade. So love them
there and you know, I don't know how long.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Chances.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
I think it was four or five weeks, so it
will probably happen to him beginning unfortunately where to Picky
will have to go to back to reserve grade. But
I mean he's taking the opportunities. It's not like he's
it's not like he's like, you know, not performing. He's
taking his opportunities. But I mean in the long run,
half well, that looked like in the long run because
you know, he's too good. He's too good of a
(07:50):
player to be playing New Past Cup and then there's
no there's no you know, not trying to fend in
New Past Cup players because it's so important that side
as well to the first grade side where they developed
there to go into first grade. But I just think
he's too they're good of a player till, you know,
to be missing on first grade.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
That's one trying to think.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, I'm with you, bro.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I just want to ask her, yeah, like whether you
think there's a way that the Warriors can can play
chants and to a Pickie together, because personally, I wouldn't
mind seeing, you know, to a pickie keep the number
one jersey and remove chances and centers purely because you know,
we've got a bit of the can a bit of
depth in the outside backs. Rocko Bier has gone down
again for about the fifth time this season. Paul I
(08:31):
can't catch a break that I told us was coming
back to it. And we've had Pompey there, but you know,
and Pompy's being solid.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
But without being spearticular, is there a way you think
that those two can can can both both play on
the team at the same time.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Oh, definitely, But you know, we'll we've sold out. That's
that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
He doesn't seem to He doesn't seem to make those
kind of no rash changes really, you know, he's not
into those big race changes. He just seems to just
go back to the status quad. And I mean, yes,
it's not me trying to have a get Webster. I
just think that he doesn't seem to step outside the
box sometimes. That's just my opinion. He doesn't see he
doesn't seem to step outside the box and try something
(09:09):
new because I think I mean, I mean everyone out
there that's listening to this or watching this right now,
I mean, as you said, you know, we're big, big
advocates for to a picky and I just.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Think again, I'm saying this.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
I'm saying this again, he's too good of a player
to leave out on the first grade side.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
So you have to find a way to find a
way to put him in there, just like you're saying.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
And I think the way to do that is through center,
because at the moment we've put you know, for this
week's game is the Knights that put Petewell and center,
so you know, to accommodate Rockerberry, you know, being out
even though Lowlto is still there, he's on the extended bench.
So I honestly think they can do that. I honestly
think they can do that. And I know that chances,
you know, that's he wants to play fullback, and fair enough,
(09:50):
that's a spot. But I think, you know, you can't
leave to a picky out. He's too good of a
player to leave out in my opinion, And I think
that if they're going to do that, they would have
to be the combination there.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
You can't take out.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
One of the wings because they're not you know, they
don't want to take out Dylan and they're not gonna
take out Roger. They'll have to go into the centers
and again, like you see at Rockerberry out again.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
I don't know how well. I don't think it was
severe injury.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
It might be for a few weeks and so but yeah,
I'll go with the fallback center combination and the cape
well go back, goes back to second row, which means
maybe Tennis star Smith, you know, goes gets.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Out, goes out of seventeen. That's how I would do
it as well. But it's a hard it's a it's
a hard it's a hard thing.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
But at the same time, it's a beautiful thing because
we've got all these players that you can put in
there and they're all doing they're all doing good jobs,
they're all doing great jobs. So you know, like it's hard,
and it's a wonderful thing to see the Warriors where
the depth that's coming through. You know, one one guy
gets out, one guy comes in and you know, fills
that gap and does really well as well. So that's
really good to see. It's not just like finding someone
(10:55):
just to fill the spot, and you know, because you've
got no one else to fill it. In the past
of least the year Warriors, you know, you've seen chance
at five and stuff because halves things like that. So anyway,
he answered your question, I agree with you to a
pickie four big chance until it would be.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Would be ideal for me as well.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, I mean there's an old saying, you know, you've
got to play your players on the field at the
same time as you can, and I think that's that's
what you do. I mean that was just seeing to
a picky at four back this season, you know, and
fist grade has obviously been playing bas cap but you
know them on the wing.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
But I was just a mate, Like every time he
got the ball, he looked, he looked dangerous he was.
He just looked angry. Two hundred and twenty three running maders.
He had a hit, a hand in a couple of
tries and has nice touches. I think he only had
one for sial triasis. He topped the game with the
leaving checkle breaks. You know, he's not a big guy,
so for someone like him, you know, he throws his
(11:48):
body around and and he's a slippery, slippery snake, it's
for sure.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
So I love from him. And yeah, it's no knock
on chance at all. I love chance, and Chance has
been probably one of the most consistent. That's not our
most consistent player this year.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
So uh yeah, he shouldn't see what happens when when
when chance has come back. We've got another probably three
or four weeks. I think of of to a book
for back.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Obviously. The other big, other big talking point was your
boy Tanner Boyd stepping up into the into the number
seven jersey.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Yeah and.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah, looked pretty good with him at the helm. John
you might you might be onto Onto one of the
he liked what you saw.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I did, And I think I'm not like Onto when
I think a lot of people, you know, thought that
I know that you were to Mardin and then again
love to mind Mardini so many times, but it's just
I think he was the player to feel that, you know,
the Boyd or their boyd being cringe again.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
But but yeah, no, I think he had a great game.
I didn't think. I didn't think he was.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
I wouldn't say it was a five star performance from Boyd,
but I thought it was. It was solid enough and
I saw enough to know that he is the guy
to take the Warriors forward in this campaign. Because look,
Luke Metcalf when he went down out of the season
lift a big get there he was. He was lighting
the world on fire, you know, and you know a
(13:17):
top of the Delian points, you know, before they went,
before the.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Daily went behind closed doors.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
He was doing so well and and and.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Yeah, no, it was it was, it was, it was.
It was hard.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
But you know, Town of boy is coming. He's got
a different style of game. He's in the technic players
like Luke Micalf. But Luke Metcalf, he when he had texts,
he texts. He texts like he hears the ball in
hand and tries to tech himself and goes through and
does really well there where kind of board is more
like a text where he texts the line and then
hits something up.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
For other players to do.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I mean that doesn't mean that Luke Metcalf doesn't do
that as well, but Luke Metcalf has the ability to
hold the ball in then and get around them and
break those techles as well.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
And he where is he shone many times.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
I love the fact that Town of Boyd he goes
right into the defensive line and last minute is able
to draw them in in the last minute because it
looks like he's about to, you know, take.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
The tackle, but then he last minute draws them in
and passes late.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
And it's just awesome for the seat piece for the
Warriors at piece because it means it can create overlaps
and if he continues to perfit that, we're gonna score
a lot of tries in the center wing area, you know,
in that little area, because he's got the ability to
do that.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
So I loved it.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
I loved it so and he's great. His kicking is
great as well. I've got a great boot. We'd have
to worry about kicking because he's got the boot on
him goal kicking as well. He see it five from
six and he was five from six and yeah, so
like no, I think I think, you know, he is
that man to take the Warriors for and look and
just just I mean, I don't believe in jinxing this
(14:41):
sort of stuff, but if he ever went down, you
know you've got tomdon Mans and they can fill the
gap as well. So that's why I'm loving the death
of the Warriors. You know, you got someone like Tomadon
Mantsen who could do just as well. So I think
town of Boy does that guy to do it, because
I think he just got a better he can manage
the game well, we managed the game better.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
And also, no, you can't, you can't knock this off.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
He's gonna just got a really good boot, superior kicking game,
and you need it as well because I think chance,
so sorry, not chance, Harris sta Vida. He's been doing
really well late, but you know, I wouldn't say his
boot is the greatest.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
His kicker is the greatest. He's he can put.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Up and unders up and stuff, but the long distance kicking,
that's not where you know, he's already shines. So I
think he needs someone that actually kicked you know, long
no long distance kicks and stuff, and I think that's weird.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Ten of Boy that does really well as well.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
So yeah, no, no, I'll give him definitely a solo pass,
and I think he'll only get better. I think he's
only going to get better.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, really days, Yeah, I saw a lot, yeah, four
hundred kicking on the whole.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
He had had triassssed. Harrison had a tri assist as well. Harriste.
I was putting in a couple of grabbers and Tin
of Boy hit.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
A couple of bombs, so they I thought they were
really really well as a peerage. Like, you know, they
sort of to just both know their role, and even
though only had one tries to each, I feel like
they probably deserved more than one try. You know a
lot of the tries were coming from stuff that they
were doing, but maybe a.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Couple of a couple of players back.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
So yeah, yeah, I really liked my sol from that house,
peering and providing your touch Wooden and what injuries. Hopefully
we'll see see plenty more of that from them.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
You talked about Jamar and Madden before we've talked. We've
talked about his versatility. The last few weeks.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
He came off the off the beach and played played
centa for about forty probably forty five minutes after Roccoberia
went off. So yeah, I just wanted to say shout
out to him once again for showing off his versatility.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
I thought he actually did.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
A few weeks ago when Glen went off and he
was sort of playing a bit of wing, a bit
of Sceni looked a little bit lost, but maybe they've
just practiced a little bit more with him sort of
really really been a utility for the every bet position.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
But yeah, in the last two games he's played hooker,
half Beck, four Beck and Sintas So yeah, long may
long with that last, but soon just yeah, a Roco
beer as well.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Like, I mean, it just feels like this is about
the fourth time he's been injured this season. Obviously no
no serious injuries, but I have still a bit of
talk around, you know, like about these injuries.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Do you.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Like he's still only about twenty four, so he's still young.
But if you were the Warriors management, would you be sort.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Of chasing up a contract extinction after after this one's done,
or would you would you be looking at usphere just
purely on the on the injury sort of front for
him at the moment.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
That's a hard question.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
That's a really hard question because I mean, I can't
deny the guy's talent, but you know, he's just had
a bad run of injuries. You know, it happens, and
I mean he's just been unfortunate, you know, like you know,
will you know, will he ever get to play a
full game of any you know, a full game of
eighty minutes or footy without getting injured? It just seems
that like every time just something just seemed to get
(18:10):
you know, just to reaggravate something, you know, like for example,
the shoulder, and there was the same shoulder that the
hair surgery on, and you know, yeah, I feel I
feel sorry for the guy. And honestly, he said he's
so young as well, So I don't think.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
I don't think he's I think it's a bit of a.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
I don't think he's reader to give up the game
or anything like that or anything like that. But I
don't that's a hard question. I think I think that
I honestly think the Warriors will still have faith because
of his age that he can come.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
He can come.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Well, you know, the injuries are part of the game.
Some people are a lot of people are injury prone,
Like you're not like wading him for example, you can
catch them prones. How many can catch that he had
over the years. But they still keep on bringing him,
you know, extending his contract and he's worth it.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
So I think, yeah, I think Rocker Berry is worth it.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
So I don't I don't think that they'll they'll you know,
I love to think good enough to go elsewhere.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
I don't think they will have to go elsewhere. He's
a clean class player, got many years ahead of them.
He needs to get the body right, just needs to
get the body right.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yeah, yeah, hopefully he can't. It just sort of reminded
her if you remember of being Henry you know, you know,
and he was a real youang talent. He's around for
probably three or four seasons, but just similar to Rockabery,
he just seemed like, you know, every pretty much you'd
be seeking game he was, he was getting injured. I
think the thing we've been here in Henry is that
his injuries were a bit more serious. He had some
(19:33):
pretty serious on the injuries and that sort of thing. Yeah,
I mean, I mean, I love Rockabera and when he
when he's on, but it's just it hasn't helped the Yeah,
they sort of outside back situation this year, that's for sure.
So yeah, do you think that was the best spy
and performance of saying from from the Warriors? He says,
(19:55):
And obviously we'll talked about to Picky, You've talked about
HARRISA Bell and boy, and I thought why they're hit
a great game. He looked sort of as menacing beast.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Do you think that's sort of a part of me
thinks it's kind of like the most complete spot like
in fo not quite fall less but not far. I've
been fast by performance for the season. How would you
feel about it?
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Do you do you think? Do you agree with it?
Or do you think that maybe you know, you'd rather
some of the other guys there.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Yeah, no, I mean I didn't think.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
I mean, look, they played, they played well, but I
didn't think I said, as I said before, I don't
think they know. I didn't think I said this about
tying a boy, but as a team of the whole,
I didn't think of the bierst that performance. It was
a very comfortable win in the end. And you know,
and I think that they would have to go up
a level to play against the lights of the Storm,
the Bulldogs and the Raiders, you know, Panthers. Even I
(20:48):
think is you know, starting their late surgeons and the
competition stuff. So I think they will have to step
up a bit. Then that's just my honest opinion. But
I was gonna talk about, you know, like a flawless
spine performance. I would have seen the game against the
Sharks really demolished them the most. They would have been
my fallest spine performance because they were they were terrific
(21:10):
on them. The whole team was terrific on their night,
and like I said, they were good. They were good
against the Tigers. Yes, but I just think that, Yeah,
I think I wouldn't say it was flawless, but good.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
But yeah, not my not my overall best game from
the Spine this season.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Yeah, I'm going to say it was. Honestly, I just
I loved everything that they were all doing. They just
played the role really well. I think in the in
the Sharks game, you know, you forget that I first
half was only twelve teen and we were really.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Up against him in the first half.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
I mean, you know, we sort of found out and
a few eks after that maybe the Sharks skills we
actually thought they.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Were as well. But yeah, I just I love what
I saw.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
From from from and we've obviously talked about the three
of them, but yeah, I think why League as well.
He was really mean sitting around the right, sort of
forced a few penalties and was catching some of.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
The Tigers swards.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Sort of There's one at one moment where like he
just kind of like ran towards the guy and he
just couldn't. They won't put him the health and kind
of you know, almost just like snick the ball over teams.
It's just a silly penally for from him. But we'll
we'll take it on our back. I think it's a
great platform to for them to start from. And yeah,
(22:25):
i'd love to see, love to see.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I just I just feel I just feel that, you know,
I feel it with the Sharks game though, you know
we're talking about the tax game.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Is that I feel like it was a harder team
to play though.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
That's what I mean, you know, you know, I think
that they were at the time, the Sharks were doing
doing ok in the competition at the time. I'm not
sure where they are right now because I think they
were just outside the top eight at the ending of
this rounds.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
I don't know where they're at now, but I think
it was a harder team.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
So I think there was more if it put it in this,
if there was a close half times well, but then
they just un least on them. So I just thought
for me, it was then because it was it was
a harder team to play, you know, and plus it
was out their home ground as well, track Park.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
So yeah, that's that's why I thought.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That was the best spine, you know, the best showing
from our spine, and you know, it was a different
spine as well. Obviously Chance there as well, so it
Luke Metcalfe as well. So look, I just reckon that,
you know, they've found this new spine with Egan has
to be the.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Boy and topicky.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
There'll be that there'll be the spine for the next
four games at least with Chans out, you know, it's etcetera.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
So I think.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
That they will they will continue to improve, and I
think it will be very hard for it will just
make it give will be a big headache in terms
of selections when chance becomes available, because if they continue
to do really well and contend to improve, why would
you stop that. But again it's he goes with it
mentality that this is a challenging spot. So there's once
(23:58):
he's beck in his back and swop back.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
You know. That's why I says it's a hard one there.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
But yeah, I really hope they do like the world
and fire, you know, in these next four games, and
it gives maybe it is the course to think, just
sit down and have a thinking. I think maybe a
need to stick with this and maybe put Chances in
the center, you know. So we'll see August, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
You give out some some w EAMs for the game,
and so for those who don't know that EAMs are ours,
we're just give them for Warriors games and for Warriors players.
And they have three two one system.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Uh yeah, sure, my mind's a bit. I saw a bit.
We're like, you know, a bit out there with the
fun and probably plays.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
I probably didn't think, but my three points goes to Valmonger,
your dimetric I thought he I thought he was amazing
off the bench. I was just I was watching him
come off the bench and every time he comes on.
I see this in the video that we for our
channel yesterday, but I was just saying that every time
he comes on, he's like a breath of fresh air,
Like you know, the intensity that he brings on in
(25:11):
the tech in defense is amazing.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
He's young, and he's like he's he's in it. He's
all over the park.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
He's there, and I love his I love his strength
is leticism. It's just it's kind of like a like
a clone of liquor. Liquor, you know, a bit of
like a clone of liquor in a way, but they
lost the same haircut. But I just I just think
that he's I just think I've got a lot of
a lot. I've got a lot of time for Bomongo
because and I love the fact that I mean, I
(25:38):
know he's on the bench, he could easily start. I
think his position on the bench at the best place
to be because he comes on and he's just injects that.
It's just a big, big, big those intensity in the
game that you want to call it. But yeah, Bonga
got my three points only the steps on him at
the moment.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
But Roger got my too.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I just thought to hit a solid game, you know,
going to try I think I think he sort of
tried there. He sort of tried there, the running meetings, etcetera.
It's a lot of running meters and stuff. Then yeah, nah,
I just thought he had a solid game and he
signed to slowly, slowly get back to his best, you know,
slowly getting back to his best. So Roger diffinitely well
(26:20):
gives my two points. I was tossing up between, you know,
one point between Canaboid and liquor so just because it
was the debut, or give the Taliboid just because you know,
he had big shoes to film with Luke mccap out
the whole, the whole Warriors World. You know, in a
row we'll have a regular leaf, the pandit whatever we're
gonna call them. We're watching down a Boyd to see
(26:43):
where how he goes. You know, it's a lot of
appreciare must have been on the guy, but you know
he did it with these went on there. Sure he
could do the job, managed the game well, kick the
ball around well.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
And and I mentioned before draw the or drawn part,
you know, the pieces for signs to keep going forward.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
So yeah, no, so good things from trying to Boyd.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
And yeah, and I think that he would just continue
to get better as a conference grows.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
There's more game time. My three through ones.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
That's fair, that's fair. I yeah, I'm amazing you haven't
given you points to two boat, to be honest, because
I thought he was yet the gay and I know
that you're you're a big fan of him, and maybe
he didn't will be shown too much bias, So yeah,
the three to make up for that. Yeah, I mean
a sort of already already learned to before, but just
(27:35):
absolutely just loved what I saw from him. Every time
we caught the ball. He just looked so hungry with tackles.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Two twenty three eighty millions leaving tackle breaks, forty four
post content meders in a triasis and.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Yeah, a really good game from him. So yeah, before
I'm interested to see what will happened been chances beat
because I just don't know how you don't find a
placeform in the squads. So were two He agree with
what you're saying about Tann and Boyd. Yeah, he just
heh's my two points. I thought he just he managed
the attack.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Well, just you know, took the ball to the line
really confidently, kicked well, he did four hundred and six
kick mills five out of sex front on the tee.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Yeah, try assists as well, but just I just felt
like the attack really looked looked like he'd been there before,
you know, in their position. So a very good sign
for for future weeks.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Yeah, and yeah, I tossed out to Lika and Artist
from My from My at one point and I.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Went with Lika in the end played the eighty minutes.
I sort of have alerds in the past.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
I'm not sure whether he's a static seeing role, but
if he can put on performances like that every week,
I'd be I'd be more than hippie toe to watch.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
That, because yeah he was. He was immense eighty.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Minutes, forty three tackles, huge bang for him, you know,
doing forty three tackles, scored that sort.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Of late try.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
I loves it, loves to try against the Tigers, just
like to try in general. And showed a couple of
times that has you know, I had dangerously is continueing
the high ball as well.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Been chances pulling up for both bombs.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
So yeah, but I mean there was probably you know,
as I said before culling him, some points of Roger thought, yeah,
but Michael was great, and Tennis Ower Smith was great,
White Leagan was was brilliant. So there's there's a haper
guys who could have backed out points this week. Jackson
Ford we're having mentioned Jackson Ford. I thought he has
the energy he ended up starting with. We wondered whether
(29:34):
he'd ended up the beach, but he started. I think
he played about sixty minutes in the Indian. He had
a huge shift from him, some big numbers. So awesome
to say.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
That we're in a place where the yeah they the
boys can ye pick up a few wins, just like
good performances around.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
So you have you have you knowniced with Jackson Ford
that he's just of late, Like we've been seeing there's
praises for a while and you know it's too right,
But have you noticed of late he's giving away a
lot of silly penalties.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
He's not doing.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
He did he did in the.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Game before the buye he did a couple of times
and we were to the ill discipline. Remember we were
talking about the wild discipline and he was part of it.
And you know, I know that a lot of people
like you know, don't Jackson forwards and stuff of that,
but he can't. He can't escape reality. That's what you saw,
you know, you see that what he did, and he
did it. I think that once. Yeah, I mean I
(30:36):
just did replay a game, but yeah, I was just
gonna ask it because they just came to my mind.
You know, he's I mean, I think he's been putting
in boos just like I agree with you there, But
I just think his discipline is getting a little bit.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
He's he's to watch that he's given away a few
penalties of late.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Ye friends states up there, because I feel like it
was something which was a problem of his in the
handling years. But I feel like you know, like he's
kind of tuned out around this season. But we'll have
a look at the steps and see what we can
we can bring up for you next week.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
So a game game this week to look forward to
against the Newcastle Knights, who are obviously in a bit
of a predicament at the moment.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I don't know whether it could work work against for
the Warriors, but obviously just a few.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Reports coming out at the end of my Brian might
be getting the flack, which is I mean, hardly be
surprising considering the Nights performances in the last two seasons,
but also that Kellum Ponger might be you know, for
a new home potentially, yeah, playing rugby. I mean, I
mean just that rumor comes up, you know, a couple
of times every year. But yeah, you know, I just
(31:46):
feel like that there could be now i'ment of something
in there. It could just be there, he says. Yet
obviously not heavy in Newcastle. It doesn't look like he's
he's that have to be playing.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
There this year cheap a level already, Like I mean,
he's won a series with the Maroons. Very unlikely going
to even be picked for Australia, you know, for the Kangaroos.
I know, I don't think Male's doing it anyone. I'm
not sure if it's Males the coaching, you can't remember,
but I don't think he'll be picked for for the
for the Kangaroos, and I figure, I mean, it's when
(32:18):
you be when you feel a bit frustrated playing for
the Nights as well, doesn't feel.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Like they're going anywhere.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
But I mean I would have thought that, you know,
maybe another club, you know, he's another club, you know, somewhere,
because I'm pretty sure there are other clubs that would
like love to pick him up. But just that he's
got a big price tag on that's the problem. He's
going to mess up price tag one which you know
will impact you know, salary caps across the board. So
they were rugby, you know, that would be interesting because
(32:44):
I mean it is we all know that if like
you said, there's always a rumor about him playing rugby.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
But you know, and he's always got a he's always hit.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
A desire to play for the All Blacks. I think
I think he's always had a desire. So maybe he's incided,
you know, now time to time. After winning the State
Orger Series, the Queensland.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah, yeah, you had to bring the lab again, didn't you.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Yeah, we can talk about you know that's on the
run sheet to touch on it.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yeah, big to the bits of the Warriors Knights. Yeah,
you know, it could work either way for the Warriors.
You know, you know sometimes we see these sort of
things happen and you know, like teams sort of end
up getting up for the coach. But it hardly looks.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Like he's got and my Brian's got the got the
team behind him this season, so hopefully it doesn't look
for them.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Yeah, but just have a look looking at the two steps,
you know, Warriors, Nights, Stets. So he did heed Warriors
when he did lead, he heard twenty six wins, Knights
got twenty three with one draw. The last played them
intiped out of this year, don Christ Jets. The Warrior's
got a pretty convincing twenty six twelve one. Then Knights
(33:55):
have lost three of the last four games and then
in all that out of finals contention and the Warriors, Yeah,
obviously after that win, and yeah, I think they'll they'll
they'll put primplet this game as one of those ones
they need to need to.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Win, you know, like yeah, there's no no excuse to
sort of lose that. So I know they're not playing
at home, but they've got great record in Sydney. I
think they've won five straight in Sydney and from memory
and after the Sharks game, first time club has ever
done that.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
So hopefully they can you know, I mean and you
something else will say Newcastle is class enough. Yeah, we
do have a have a team, do you know if you're.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Saying Fran yeah, I'm going to hear. So fall back
to py Dylan.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Winger on the wing there with a Pompey and cook
Cakewell playing the center. So Katewell comes back after missing
out on the last game, just to give us a
little body recover after Origin and from what we be
seeing as that remember that he quote and saying, well
he's not nineteen anymore, so he's a little bit more
time to recover.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Fair enough.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
I think if it was any game you want them
to risk, it will be a Tigers game, you know.
So it worked that well. But he's coming back into
Temer because obviously will be read out and he wants
to obviously wib wants to keep the forward packed the
way he had. He's opposed Wealth with Ron Day Roger
to Vasa chik On on the other wing. This the
(35:22):
has Chanel Harris, Tavida Twa boyd Down Special Harris in
the front row.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
It kept him.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
Waiting and Hooker starting in the front row with Dan
Special Harris Dexon forward in the second row. Look at
Hala Sema, Brandon Coude and number thirteen Aaron Clark with
the interchange being to Martin Martin, Jacob Laban, Midrid Belmana
and Tennce Ella Smiths. So pretty pretty solid team.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Yeah, yeah, just at one change from last week with Yeah,
so it's always good when they can keep back, keep
it continuous continuity after well especially so yeah, and as
I said, where the Spines playing.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
You know, they could put on a hundred against his
nice American.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
What what for you sort of the you know what,
what's the key for being in Newcastle this week?
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Is it just sort of kicked to the same game
plan as last week? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Sorry, yeah, no, no, that same same same game plan.
Don't take them for granted, you know, don't don't think
they're just gonna be easy beats. They've still got some
star players in there. The club is as as walking
on each others at the moment, you know, just on
on and off the field.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
You know, problems on and off the field.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
So yeah, I just think, go out there and play
your game, be confident and just you know, and you
and well, I say.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Don't think that, don't. I mean, like, don't just think
this is going to be an easy win.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
But at the same time, you know, go out there
with the intention to try and score on a point
because we need it for pointal And so the time
I'm looking from that perspective, our point of printal needs
to improve here.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yeah, and is anyone you've got a circle to needs
a big game to sort of keep this spot yours.
Everyone's pretty comfortable there at the moment.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can't really think of anyone there.
They all they have, they all had a solid game.
I mean, Kate well do playing well for state of
Origin in Origin, So I think I think it's fine
by at the moment. I don't think there's anyone there
has you know, they needs to performance there gonna lose
a spot. So nah, I think it's a good.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yeah, you know, uh, put your foot into jackson Port
again there.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Well, this has nothing to do with this performance this
is with Jets forward. I just said it is ill
disciplined and alone don't mean by that. I don't mean
that he isn't playing well. I think he's been playing
really well. I think he's just it's ill discipline of late.
It has been a bit, it's been a bit funny,
That's what I mean by that.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Think it's definitely a game. Where as I said before,
they should be winning it. But if I think you
said that, you can't. You can't take these things for granted.
Because it is in er anything can happen.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeah, we had a real.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Around last week last week last week where all seven
games a favorite one, so that's not gonna happen either around.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
So yeah, it's going to be a few upsets around.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
So hopefully the Warriors the six o'clock Sunday game, I
don't really much time for. There's as a time for
a game. It's just a little it's just you know,
it gets in the way of tea time, and yeah,
I think kids and all that, so I have to
hit talk to the wife and make sure that you know,
maybe the kids can stay a bit later.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
To watch that one. But on with for I'll be.
I'll be watching with with my m's mom's wide openers
got stepped from Green would say, ye were a few
of the things ending in the you know l in
the proper league world recently obviously stayed there. Origin happened
(39:16):
last week, So yeah, shout out to Queensland. I still
don't have my Mara and T shirt, but I've got
my sign say New South Wales sucked.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Yeah, I've asking about that.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's that old saying that you know,
Queensland just get Origin, and I think that that series
is a good example of.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
It, you know, like it was, you know, they got
blown out at home, went to Perth for the game
two and sort of you know, put twenty four points
on them in the first half and then just held
off in second half. But now complete performance from from
Queensland and that in the game three.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Just said nothing. They just choked. They choked them out
and at home as well. So yeah, congratulations to you
in your marines. John. Do you think Laurie Daily is
gonna be the coach next year?
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Well, I think so because the CEO has already come
out and saying that you know, we don't we have
we have contracts and.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
We fulfilled them. So he's got another year ago, So
I don't think he's gonna lose a job.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Yeah, I's see you and we all know what a
contract means.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
So yeah, but when you got the CEO coming up
blatantly saying that, but yeah, and a player of the series.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
John, you have a obviously a new So with the
way that they were they were playing, do you have
a player of the series.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
From the team mate?
Speaker 3 (40:40):
Honestly, if I'm gonna be a bit biased, I'd love
to say Court Kate Will, but you know, if I'm
gonna be realistic, At the same time, cly Tommy didon
he he took you know, like skipped in after Cherry
Evans got you know, controversy dropped. Well, I don't think
it's controversial. It's just because so I believe it's y
a call. There's nothing controversial about It's just because he's
(41:02):
been there for a long time. He was captain as well,
and I think it's just kind of a shock, So
there's nothing controversial about it. It was just, mate, I
need to bring someone in here otherwise going to lose
the series, and he did, and look what happened to himself.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
I was apart.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
So yeah, so I think Tommy didn't deserve that. And
he's a great player. We always know he's been a
great player. But he has been waiting for his chance.
You know, he's always been playing number fourteen? Are you're
telling me when it comes to rep football. So there's
a chance he's taking it with both you know, he's
taking them both fans. So but you know, I honestly,
I mean Kirk Cake well very very very close second
(41:40):
in Monster as well. I mean Ken Munster love when
I love when he plays for Queensland. But you know,
outside of Queensland, I think this thing is the biggest
the grub in the world. I think he's Him and
Harry Grant are the biggest grubs in the world. There's
a few of them out there, but yeah, they're they're
they're on the list for me. But Caate, well, I
thought when he can when you know again in the
(42:02):
NRL world, immediate world, he was a controversial selection, but
he came in and I thought he was gonna get
Member of the match for the second game because he
was outstanding. He was outstanding in their second game and
you know, rightfully so won a spot back in the
third game and did well as well. They probably didn't
play as well as he did in the second game,
but they still He's still played really well and part
(42:23):
of going outfit, you know, they talk took a part
a star started new stuff.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
I was thinking they had no answer, so you know, yeah,
Tommy did him from playing the series.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
I think cap Well Munster probably just behind him, you know,
if there were if there was a race for it.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
Yeah, yeah, my.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
Player series about how the Warriors were three origin.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Yeah, yet playing his first one, and I would have
you know what, I would have loved to have seen
Barnett and cape Well added each other.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Oh, I was. I was really hoping for that, you
know what I mean. I would have loved us.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
I remember, I remember in a press conference someone asked
Bannie or Bannie is saying, would you love to you know,
would you what would how woud you feel about paying
against Capbell And he was like, I love it.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
You know, I would love to see.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
Like a big clash between the two, you know, getting
getting into the spaces and stuff. And I'm sure on
the field they would have just gone on each other.
But off the field, you know, to beg the buddies again.
But yeah, would you know seen that, see them going
each other?
Speaker 4 (43:25):
Yeah, yeah, you'd love to see it.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
I think they did play against each other game three
last year, isn't they?
Speaker 3 (43:31):
I can't remember because what because Cable was part of
it last year, wasn't he? And he wasn't retained here,
but finally got a game.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
In game three. I feel like next year we'll see
if Capes has still Cape still got it.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
But yeah, and all you know, and a pretty let
cluster sort of last couple of games, I thought, Yeah,
I mean, he scored five series called the Cord, and
he just every time he caught the ball, it was tackles,
so he was going to give.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
Yeah, I don't know how the guy doesn't.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
He's just like you know, you know, if you look,
if you look, if you watch, if you watch previous
videos and clips of him talking about his journey in
regular League, he talks about how people would say to him,
you're too small, you know. He he he constantly sees that, like,
you know, during my journey, people will see that I
was too small. But mate, he honestly he gets the
boy bumps off people with these and he gets through
(44:31):
techle He breaks tackles, all these and he's just yeah,
he's just an amazing player. So like, I love the
fact that he's been there with just to like you know,
you know, like not listen to what to listen to
all that noise that told him he was too small,
and he's just showing them that I can do this.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
You know, some of the smallest guys, you.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
Know, they can do the biggest and the biggest, the
biggest things in the field look too big again, one
of the smallest guy, the smaller guys in the field,
but you know, I'm afraid to head it up and
also breaks the tackles like like you said, like a
slippery stake, you might as well.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
So yeah, I think we've told his body visition meets
himself and and it just keeps himself so low and
it's almost like.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Like animal Amadello, you know, like he kind of rolls
himself up and just just rolls them. Yeah. I mean,
the Panthers will be hoping that he can sort of
get back to to full street because he's obviously had
a few injuries this season, but he'll be a big
part of.
Speaker 1 (45:29):
Of them making it a late chats to the finals.
Speaking of late chatter to the finals. I did just
want to quickly ask.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
We talked last week about sort of whether whether the
Warriors met the top four, and I think we sort
of we're both agree instead, you know, the Raiders, Storm, Bollocks, Warriors, Broncos,
and Panthers will probably make up the top six teams.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
But I'm just looking at the table at the moment,
there's there's four teams filing for their final tour spots,
the Seagles and Rosters and Sharks too, and Dolphins are
on twenty. I'm not going to dive into the games
and you know, and but I just want to want
to ask you, yet, of those four seen Dolphins, who
you think is gonna sneak into sneak into the most
(46:10):
likely sneak into the eight from from them.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
It's a hard one because you have to see the draw.
You know, even you have to see the draw. But
they're all they're all on some of the points, aren't they.
I still think Dolphins can do well. I mean they were,
they were doing really well until the last week's game,
and I think they just need to, yeah, just need
to regroup and you know, start playing the way they
were playing before on their last game was they were tremendous,
(46:35):
they were awesome, and so I think I still think
the Dolphins can still do it. It's a hard one
because Sharks and Seaguels, I mean, they're they're they're obviously
they're right up there, but you know, they're not. There's
not there nothing to be tackler are they They're nothing
special in my eyes anyway. And you look at the roosters,
they're they're, they're thereabouts, and they've got a team that
(46:56):
can put on an awesome performance, but they didn't haven't
done it every game, you know, week in week out.
So I'm going to go in terms of your question,
just answer your question, I'm going.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
To go Dolphins and Rousters.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
I'd like to say Dolphins, But I just feel like
after the last two seasons, similar sort of things happened.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
They've been they've got to sort of this point in
the season and.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
They've been sort of lurking around eight the ninth, but
then they've kind of dropped off as a lot as
a sort of season comes to at the end. Obviously,
Cody Nicky Rieman's out and I think for a few
weeks and I think, yeah, like maybe people underestimate his
his his value on that team as well as good
as Isaiahatas.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
So I'm putting the line for the Dolphins, and they'll
put a line for the Sharks as well, because even
though they did.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Beat the Dolphins last week, it was it was a
lot closer than it should have been. I think the Roosters, yeah,
I mean, Sam Walker's back to spook for them in
the sea or surely they'll be able to give you know,
one Chier Evans, one last sort of one last game
in the finals before they before they keep kicked.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
Yeah for me, yeah, fair enough.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
I mean, I was just gonna say, going back looking
at the letter quickly, with the Bulldogs the head of
the Warriors by two points, they've got the Dragons this week,
and boys differential they've got they've got a plus ninety
six and the Warriors are up to plus thirty one now,
which is starting.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
To get better. We're just trying to get better.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
But I really hope that they take advantage of the
game and some nights, I mean, the Bulldogs good obviously
tear a part of the Dragons as well, But I'm
just saying that, you know, again, I'm not.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
I'm not. I don't believe in jings And so you're
listening out there, don't say no, you know, I don't
believe in the crap.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
All right, I'm saying that, you know, this could don't
don't don't take them too lightly, don't take the nights
too lightly. But it could be a game where if
you just play your just just do things properly, stick
to your game plan.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
And we could probably good you know, even if it
was good good twenty points.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
You know, I'd love to be at plus fifty one
by the end of this round, you know, if it
went by twenty one points and why not big the
players by you know, a good three points?
Speaker 4 (49:03):
Stories why not? So why not?
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Yes, yeah, it's going to.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
Help every point, every point we can win from here.
Just cooeple four tips. I just hear one quick question
for you. I haven't I haven't put on the run sheet,
so I'll give you a couple of seconds to think
about it.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
If you had to lock in one Warrior, yeah, I
just imagine the Warriors were just all the contracts for
finishing the English year. If you had to lock in
one of the Warriors players at the moment on a
three year deal. Who would it be right now?
Speaker 4 (49:34):
Liquor, Liquor.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
I mean, yes, there's a hard one because obviously you're
saying only one one player of the whole team and
they're all finishing the contracts in the season.
Speaker 4 (49:46):
One player, if I had to lockdown one player right now.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
Would be Liquor because he's the future of the club,
amongst many others, like as well to a pickie. You know,
he'd through a Laban as well, the future star Smith.
But he is, he's like, he's show he's proven himself
for really this living. He's already at a young age,
he's already proven that he can play at this liberal
(50:08):
and he's he's also not just proven that he can
play at this liberal, he's also proven that he can
excel at this living as well. And he's got he's
got pace, he's got stream. The try scored on on
the weekend, we just drugged off through his defenders with
these and just go there. He's got pace. They tried
that he scored against who was it when I can't
remember see who it was? I know the tribe, I
(50:29):
can remember who who excited ran down the right right
right edge around the wing.
Speaker 4 (50:34):
There stepped inside. I was it okay, so yeah, there
you go, and then yeah, but the silly good choice.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
He's got pace, he's got strength, he's got really super fliticism.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
He's just a super in the air as well.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
I remember reading something the other day about cart you know,
being you know, the number one second role in the
game at the moment, and it's fear. It's a fear,
it's a bit point. But you know he's got the
making of it from the thing. You know, he's good
in the ear. Yeah, he's got he's good in the ear.
He's like I said, this is athleticism, is strength, is power, speed,
(51:11):
he's gone all so and he's young.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
He's young as well. Then he loves loves the club
as well.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
So in he's he's always coming to the first grade
side and he's you know, he looks like he really
belongs there. So superstar of the game. He's already a
super star. You know, he's he's going to get a
superstar status. He's a far at the moment superstars staders,
and I just believe that. Yeah, film someone I would
sign on right now for you know, three.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Deal out of all the teams would be bigger n.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Yeah, lots. Yeah, I mean you know, I mean, yeah,
such a bright future. So I love that one. I
was gonna go to a backing myself. Just similar sort
of thing, you.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Know, just the future of the club so much, so
much upside and someone that you want to get sign
of early playing an important position at full back, you know,
like if we if you can have.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
A good full back, you can go a long wayter
to winning games. So yeah, he was, he was.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
He was mine for that, and we'll finish it off
with some clock ups just just cuse winning. No explanation needed.
First up, we've got Dolphins, Cowboys and Tuesday Night.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
Yes, Sharks and Roasters on front of that.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
That's gonna be a good game, you know, with the
ladder right there on the unequal points. So Roosters, yes,
it isn't.
Speaker 4 (52:42):
It isn't.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Shot Pack, Panthers, Reves, Panthers have got cleary and go
out just the fire.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
Yeah, it's a hard one. I'll still give.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
Raiders, Eels my beloveds both.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
Yeah, no brainer.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Bulldogs, Dragons, yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
I love to. I would love to say dragons, but
I think the Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
I'll get the dragons. Look, Galvin's playing seven, so it
be interesting see what happened. I think that's whole Galvin
things really make things interesting for the bottles and work
in the Warriors failer storm still mainly upon saying that, yeah,
Tigers Titans, the bell of the Stone.
Speaker 4 (53:38):
I'm just gonnas.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
And I presume we're both being the last.
Speaker 4 (53:47):
Of course, yeah name plus Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Didn't realize I hadn't seen I hadn't seen the team
that's for the ball. So Golvin studying seven.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
Yeah, yeah, so you obviously got drops last week.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
I think that was more like it was on the
beach originally, and then they they dropped them, I think
me and I think because they had a few injuries
and wanted to make sure they had four fourths on
the beach.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
But he dropped Toby sixteen. So interesting too.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
I suppose it's sort of like you kind of got
to you know, like they've made the investment, they've made
the it's been well publicized, so they need to try
like bit for the decision to make the Yeah to Silum.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
So can we just spend a minute on this, because
like I've actually thought about No, I don't know about
this game that he'd picked up I thought he'd been.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
Dropped, and then I heard that there he might they
might get a spice solution in there.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
But I don't understand this that he and how he's
just come in and then all of a sudden they
just they've purchased them from the Tigers and then treating
him like he's a price position and like I'm not
I'm not saying the guy's been talented. He's a talented kid,
we all know. But they were doing the Borders have
been doing so well under sixteen playing a half back,
and then.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
They're I thought, but they haven't. Yeah okay, but yeah, okay,
but fair enough.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
But the thing is that you know that is a
means to replace sixth and with Galvin, you know, like
you know, what's he done, what's he done to like
the world fight, you know sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (55:20):
So I mean they're moving and the move I think, yeah,
I mean I feel sorry.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
For Glvin, to be honest, because he's he's he's bringing
not only does he he's brought and he's got this
and it could cause dis array within the club rooms.
Speaker 4 (55:36):
And you've already seen it, you know when you read
my Hony movie.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
He was having a bit of a spares and you
know when in the changing room, when he when he
was taking when he was when he was taken off,
and when he was taken off, and he was not
happy about it. And you know, I think a lot
of players might be thinking the same, along the same lines,
where like, why are they shifting this around? We've been
(55:59):
We've had a winning formula, you know, while you're doing this.
And I mean, if he was a superstar of the game,
you can just kind of understand that. But I don't
think he is a superstar of the game. So and
again he's coming.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
He's come.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
He's coming to the environment with a lot of weight
on his shoulders because of all the stuff that happened
via the media. Stuffy happened, And it's kind of like,
I feel sorry for him because he's young, but he's
kind of very unliked.
Speaker 4 (56:21):
You know, there's a lot of people that are very unliked.
Does that make sense.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
He's like, you know, because of what's going on, people
have opinions and stuff. He's young, so gonna you know,
you're gonna give a chance. But yeah, I think that, Yeah,
I don't know what your opinion on this, because.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
Everywhere he goes. His name is always controversy around it,
you know, every time he's named in the media.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Yeah, I mean there's more upside and having him than sixteen.
Like instance, they been flying the world on fire, and
they've been struggling to score.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
Points and they have lost a few games recently. You know,
they were they were top of two able for for
a long time and them slowly they're just going you know,
they're sitting at third now, I think so, and could
very easily end up yeah, fourth or or if if
they do continue the sort of fall. So, but they've
obviously put the investment guess called likes for the season
(57:18):
them in Galvin, and he is going to be half
of the you know that he's obviously going to be there.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Half big.
Speaker 4 (57:29):
Big big game.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Ye yeah, and he's obviously like gonna be the half
bick in the future. So I think, I mean, it's
a smart decision, you know, like if this isn't their
premiership year that they're getting forward for for next year.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
And I think he is a good player. He's obviously
a good player like gast call.
Speaker 1 (57:48):
Is not gonna not gonna sign him, and you know,
like you think about how well he's done with recruitment
at the club. It might take a couple of games
to get into it. But yeah, maybe the whole mid season,
which is going.
Speaker 2 (57:59):
To be more of a destriction then they would they
would have liked. But I think it in the long run,
I think it will play off and and he'll end
up being a good, good player for the boy.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
Well, I guess all we can do is find out
when they play, right when they play, and see how
he goes. But yeah, like you said, you could work
in the Warriors, Favor could work in the Warriors fa Yeah, yeah,
we'll see.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Maybe still gonna still got a soft spot for the
last what next us for another week? I think, Yeah,
it's just good for the hear the Warriors back on
the board from two points and hopefully we'll.
Speaker 1 (58:37):
Be at giving them two points in Newcastle on Sunday night.
