Speaker 1 (00:21):
Sub Warriors. Fano. Welcome to another episode of The Couch Warriors.
I'm your host, John lasarn I'm joined by my co
host as always, Richard the band Wagon Doctor Leddy Richard.
Today we are supposed to be celebrating an amazing when
by the Warriors over the South Sydney Revelus. However, I
can't help but feel just sadness, to be honest, over

(00:43):
the news of Mitch Barnett being ruled out for the
rist of the season after he came off, you know,
with a knee injury on their game yesterday and kind
of takes the shine off the game a bit. So
I just thought, you know, normally we start off things
by going into the game talking about the game. But
just I just think this is more important right now?
Is how how you know, severe is this news that

(01:06):
you know, rich behind it is going to be out
for the season. How how how big is this news
for the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
It's not ideal, bro, Let's just say that, you know,
like it's not.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, well I saw it before, you know, a c
L it's you know, it can take can take a while,
you know, often it takes over a year for players
to sort of really come back to the beast of
sending there in the past. So you know, even starting
next season, I don't expect them to be dominating that
sort of the level we've seen. But I mean, he's
he's a world class player. You know, he's one of
the best front rowers in the game at the moment.

(01:39):
Obviously coming off a good or a good Origin Origin
win with the Mighty the Mighty Blues, so a big
loss for for my Blues as well, So it's just
a double a double hit there, really, But I don't
know the way this team is playing at the moment,
there's something about them that, even though it's obviously not bright,
but we've seen this team play through a lot of

(02:00):
injuries this year and you know, the next man stepping.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Up and and and that sort of thing.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
So as as as big as it is to have you,
you know, when your you co kept and sort of
go down for the for the rest of the season,
he'll obviously still be in the camp, He'll still be involved.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And yeah, I'm expecting gensmor.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
To Harris to really step up and and and sort
of take their leadership role, and whoever whoever ends up
kind of coming into the other starting front row. You know,
there's a couple of options we've seen this year, whether
they they've both nel Core Jackson Ford obviously they've got
the likes of sort of Bunty and Tom Allay playing
the New FLS Cup if they want like a more

(02:41):
sort of dedicated front roll. But it's yeah, it's it's
heartbreaking news, but not the end of the world for
the world. You know, I think in previous years it
would have been it would have been really really big news.
But the way this team is playing and the way
the sort of mentality of this team is, I'm confident
that they can they can play through it.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I agree with you, but still,
like you said, it's heartbreaking because I mean, Mitch Barnett
he's in such good form, he's in his prime right now.
Last season he had a stellar season where you know,
he got the call up for Origin, finally made the
team in the third game, came off the bench, had
a great game, made this made the Kangaroo side, you know,

(03:23):
at the end of the year. And then also now
for Origin, this for this is this is this year's
Origin gets ejected into the starting lineup for yourself. New
South Wales and didn't it did an awesome job, did
a great job, and he would have easily been picked
for number two. It was three and three, I believe
as well. And it's just so heartbreaking because he's in
his prime, you know what I mean. You got a
player who's just doing such good things, not just on

(03:47):
the field but off the field with his leadership. That's
the reason why he's now a captain as well at
the Warriors. And it's just I can't help I feel
so sorry for him because I mean, like I said
before celebrating the game, yes we won the game all
but this takes a bit of shine off it doesn't
it because it's a it's a it's it's a big
piece of news, and like you said, not just for
the Warriors, for you Blues as well. And you know,

(04:10):
when I saw it happen on the on the game,
like when he was down, you know, we I knew
something wasn't wasn't right because Mitch Bunnett doesn't stay down.
He's not the kind of player that just stays down.
He'll get back up, you know. I mean, he's got that,
he's got that warrior fighting him, he's got that mungoling.
He's not going to just stay down like a princess.
He'll get up and he'll keep going. But he was down.

(04:32):
You can see he was hurt. And yeah, it's not
like I said, It's not the kind of person that
will just stay down. So you knew, you always knew
that something was wrong when he's staying down. Well, when
you saw that happening alive, what we what we were,
what we were immediate? You know, what was your immediate reaction?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Same to you?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I said with you, Yeah, I thought, I think there's
more to you know, and there's more to us than
just a little you know, corporne or something like that.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
It was quite clear that I was. I was serious.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
You could see that the angle should's face when you know,
as he was being sort of carried, you know, they
had to be carried off the field like and then
you know, even the sort of commentators were saying, you know,
this doesn't look good, you know, and it was Yeah,
so to see that it was an a c L.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
I was.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I was gathered, but I wasn't. I wasn't massively you know,
like I was like, I'm sure he was going to
be out for you know, a few weeks anyway, But yeah,
the rest of the season's heartbreaking. And said before with
a c L like, I just hope that he's able
to sort of bounce back next year because it can
be a real hard one to bounce back from. But
here we are and I'll have to I have to

(05:34):
do that and we might see I got you know
this weekend when we come up against the Sharks and
see see who they have played in that in that spot.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Do you have any hot takes on who you think
it's going to fill the role?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Well, I think, you know, maybe Jackson fordle yet put
him too starting, or maybe new Curie, and then maybe
they'll bring another second roller, maybe like hell Asma won't
come into starting and replace in place over Nia Coore.
And and then also yeah, they won't bring someone else
in just to color hellesema spot on the bench. So

(06:12):
maybe they'll just do that. Maybe just they'll just do that.
But if they're gonna being like you see, if they
bring a specialist pop into the team, I mean, you know,
probably Bunty or even Tennis Dollar Smith. I think if
if not Bunty, I think the next next person off
the rank, you know, off the camp is Tennis Dollar Smith.
That's that's why I reckon they'll bring in I don't
think I think he's above Tom Aley at the moment,

(06:33):
you know, in terms of the pecking order. So that's
why I reckon. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if
they put Nia Code into the front row and then
they bring in Hellesema into the starting second row to
start in the second row, and then they bring someone
else in into the onto the beach. So who that is,
I don't know, but yeah that I wouldn't be surprised
if that's the case. But I guess, uh, well, like

(06:53):
I said right now, is you know, prayers are with
Mitch Barnett and his family. It's a it's a sad story.
And you know, the bitch of every single Warriors band
is really really gathered about this because he's a fan favorite.
Not only is our he's our skipper. He's not only
our skip, he's a fan favorite as well, and we
know how vital he is to this team's success. But
like you said, we've got some other players coming out

(07:14):
they can fill the role. I don't know if they can.
You know, he's he's said a bar really high. Mitch Bynette,
So those players are going to go and do the
job now. And I just think, like I think Andrew
webs Are saying his post match press conference that we've
got players that can come out and do the job,
doesn't you know. We've got players that know that the
job they have to do, and we've got players that
can do that. So they're still confident as well. But

(07:36):
and like you said, thankfully we've still got James Fisher
Harris out there. He's gonna go to keep away from
injuries and also suspensions for the time being. But again
it's the speedy recovery for Mitch Bynette, and yeah, prayers
with Mitch Bynett and his family and hopefully he will
be back. So hopefully we'll see a miracle that he'll
be back even sooner than expected. But yeah, again, just

(07:56):
took the shine off the game the bit. So we'll
talk about the game because it was. It was a
good game to watch. It was a very entertaining game.
I got my wishes in our last episode. I said
that I would love to see a very more I
would love to see the Warriors step it up in
the tech and I think that's what they did. They
parted on thirty six points, but they did them thirty
points as well. However, I just thought personally that the

(08:18):
selves did a pretty good job. They were pretty good.
They were pretty hard in the tech as well, so
it was hard to stop some of the players. Trill
Mitchell with a freak. But let me let me want
let me want to hear your thought from the game
just in general in summary of the game against Elf.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, bro, it was one of those games there, it was,
I think, I mean you've sort of had that now
on the idea that it was just good to see
that the attack going, you know, like the fact that
we managed to score thirty six points. I think it
must have been seven tries in the end because Metcalfe
had a bit of a shocker, you know, like he
sort of was missing some pretty easy ones and then
he nailed a couple of ones from out wide but

(08:53):
later on which proved.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You know, quite valuable. But yeah, so much it scored seven.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Tries, But yeah, it was just when we were scoring
in different ways, you know, like it was sort of it.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Wasn't just one one way.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
We were sort of going about it, you know, your
head sort of that one that Dallon so it's good
to see Gallon, you know, get his first one for
the season. Roger had a couple of the finishers out
there that won from Hallaesima, which short of came from
a couple of offloads. I think it was from varn
Milga and Change I think maybe, but you know, just
keeping the ball alive. It's just sort of warriors, fully,
we know, we know and love so yeah, obviously, I

(09:28):
mean there's been a few games this year where we've
you know, we've won the games, but we're only scoring
into the eighteen to twenty points.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
It was good to see a sort of parl of
on a few more points.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I mean, yeah, La trou Metchell, that guy when he's on,
he's one of, if not the best play in the camp,
you know, And and that was what he was doing that.
You know, there's two passes. Then he set out for
Johnson to score. In the second half. They were just
absolute on a dime, you know, and then they try
he scored just you know, just pure strength, just close

(09:57):
to the line. He kicked out forty well it wasn't
a forty twenty, but you know, a chance tried to
stop it and he put his foot out and he
was so he was.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Just doing it.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
He was just doing it everywhere.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
So the fact that we could kind of often when
he gets in that mode, like the teams don't lose.
So the fact that we managed to sort of hold
South soft from there, and yeah, I think their final
sort of like five ten minutes when they came back,
we scored a couple of late tries and we're started
getting a little bit worried. It was just it was
promising to see that we didn't capitulate. You know, we

(10:30):
sort of obviously there was something seeing in that Addle
just said come on, like we've got this, and they
just they really like there was they weren't leading any.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Any you know, they were leaning the South place through
any gaps. They just sort of tidened up the defense.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
So I would prefer if they've just done that for
the final ten minutes and we wouldn't had to sort
of have that slightly stressful sort of moment.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
But yeah, it was it was just promising to see him.
I made of mine.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
I think when we were up twelve with about seven
minutes ago, he was like, oh, this has been a
real good Warriors one A. I was like, bro, just
don't go, don't go to them in and then they
let's call that try South scored that TRYA locked it them.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
The Warriors. Lewis he you know, putting it on you.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
So she had actually make her if you listening, But yeah,
I mean, and that's what he's what I was watching
on a couple of Max and and ivone was sort
of saying, hey, it's literally good to see I score
some some points and I checked looking a lot more. Yeah,
I mean we should have won by year twelve bullion
points obviously, So uh, it was a great entertaining game

(11:30):
and performances all around to really to really sort of
enjoy and yeah, and we gave me. But yeah, even
with the whole sort of a bat being out watching
that game, watching how the likes the sort of Jackson
Ford skipped up, Forsha Harris had a real game.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I thought.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
The young boys off the bench, you know, once again
Plasma and Van Marlga, I'm doing their role. So it
gives me confidence to know that we've got the depth there,
especially with you know, Van Marlga and hell Seema re
signing last year.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Yeah, last week's you know, like that's till twenty twenty nine.
You don't.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
You don't see that very often, you know, players, you know,
like young players signing for that for that amount of time.
So that just shows you. So we're the club's are
and how where they see their future and and it's yeah,
really exciting prospect for the club.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
So hopefully this is going to give these guys a chance.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Was it Manga or was it was it Jackie Jakobe Labi? Yeah, yeah,
I don't think my Mongers signed on long term as well.
But yeah, yeah, no, no, I totally one hundred agree.
And don't don't you don't you hate it when it
happens when the Warriors get a big point buffer and years, No,
you can't just go sit back in your chair and go,

(12:45):
oh so we we got this weird. It's never the
cases that with the Warriors, is it? Like I remember
we were eighteen points ahead, we were three, we were
three tries ahead. We could have been more of you
know if Luke mcaff made some of the conversions. But
still eighteen points is a big, big, big gap. But
I honestly did not sit in my chair comfortably thinking like, okay, sweet,
we're good here, We're good from here we're not workinging

(13:05):
to worry about. I honestly always get worried that something's
just gonna happen, like something's just going to change. The
momentum is gonna shift really quickly. And it did. It
always happens to the Warriors for some reason, we get
And it wasn't because they were just lacking in defense,
because I thought our defense was pretty good. It was
just because Sales put on some really good points. The
tries that scored are actually pretty good.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
And said.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
That, yeah, the trunch will decide that he wanted to
like put us put us print on the game, and
like everything he touched was turned to gold. So the fact, yeah,
I'm happy we were able to slow that slow that down,
that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Like I'm pretty sure that you and
I are not the only Warriors fans out there that
get comfortable when the Warriors have a big, you know,
big points lead, because it's just we just know from
experience that no matter how big the Warriors leaders, you
can't be comfortable because the team always for some reason
finds a way. And thankfully though we actually still winning

(14:10):
the games. But man, do they not do they want
to give every Warriors being a heart attack. I don't know,
but yeah, that's that's that's that's the that's the that's
the pressure of being a Warriors fan. You just know
that you just can't. It's comfortably in your chair because
you know, for some reason, even if you have a
big point gap, something's just going to change. And it

(14:30):
always does. There's no jinxing about or anything. It's just something.
Always things tends to happen. But as long as we're
getting the wins, I'm happy. As long as we're getting
the wins, I'm happy. And just going back to the
whole creativity thing about the attack, Like we spoke about
this last week, right, we said that if something you
asked me the question what what would you what one
needs to change? And I just said, you know, the attack.

(14:51):
Our attack has been really missing in the last four
or five games. Despite the fact that we won four
of our last five games, our attach hasn't been the greatest.
We've been winning on the back of our awesome defense,
of an amazing defensive effort, and it was great to
see them actually you know, shift the ball around a bit,
you know, and just and try some new things and
it worked. It really worked. I mean, there was two

(15:15):
moments in the game that I just thought that were
just really weird. Like, for example, what happened with Pompey
and Chance when there was last tackle and instead of
trying to grabble the ball and they decided to just
take the tackle. I didn't get that they knew it
was the last tackle, but they decided to do something different.
It just didn't make sense. But then he had another
play where Jackson Ford had the ball on the last

(15:35):
tackle and he puts the grubber in because he knows
it's the last tackle. So you know, normal instinct does
last tackle. I've got to do something here. He kicks
it in and gets it, you know, chases the ball.
I thought he got impeded, but it didn't matter because
Rockerberry actually put the ball down and scored to try.
But what my point I'm trying to make is is,
look what happens when you actually try something, you know,
like on the last tackle, put a grabber in or something.

(15:57):
Some of the sometimes our players on the last tackle
just take a head up and let them start again.
It doesn't make sense to me. But besides those two moments,
I thought our tech was pretty good and it was
on point. And yeah, I just think that if they
can continue and we can continue to attack like that
on top of our defense as well, keep the defense

(16:17):
going that we're going, I think, you know, we're setting
ourselves up for you know, a good second half of
the season and to keep us in the top four
as well. So that was really good for me. One
question I wanted to ask you was the story keep back?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yep, I just said just on the grabber thing.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
I was just having a look on NRAL dot com
before on the stats and checks and four was the
only Warriors player to put a grabber through in that
whole game. You know, that was the only grabber that
we through in the whole game. Yeah, so I went
just there, they have a bit more inventive. You know,
we've talked about the fifth technical options, but yeah, I
was just really surprised, like it shouldn't be you know,
you should be doing that a bit more often when

(16:54):
you get into that sort of point and ye and
shout out to Rocky Berard for that finish because that
was just the term, you know, like he was just
determined to get They had no right to score that,
I thought, But yeah, yeah, that was a great try. Yeah,
I really really love to say that one.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
That's that's I'm ledgablet that stet up because it just
enhances our argument here. You know, we're saying that sometimes
we're just we're just putting bombs up, you know, and
w either not competing for them, or when we do compete,
something does actually happen. You know. Sometimes it doesn't always
come off, but it gets close. So I'd rather that
I'd rather give it, give it a chance, rather than
just let the team just catch it and then we
just take with them. And like I said, I thought,

(17:33):
I I remember it specifically because I just remember just going,
what the heck are you guys doing? Last tackle? Put
a grubber in or put a little chipping for yourself,
do something. But all they did was just they just
took the tackle. It didn't It made no sense to me.
But then Jackson Ford has the the you know, has
the mindset to go, you know what, last tackle. There's
you know where where five meters out from the ne

(17:54):
ten meters out from the line, I'm gonna put a
Brandt grubber in and of what comes of it? So
you know, if what what?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
What?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Would have happened if that was another player, would they
have just taken the tackle? So yeah, so I just
reckon that they just need to tidy it that a
bit as well. But other than that, I was pretty
happy with the all round game. Before we go into
the y le M's mate into your segment, I just
asked you one more question in regards to this game,
d w Z. We've we've been speaking about him a

(18:22):
couple of you know, for a couple of weeks now
about how he still has really returned to form. What
was your what were your thoughts on the form has
formed this game? Because he scored that really nice try
you know in the air, got that try, but I
thought he'd been missing it a little couple of times
in defense. But you know, as as he's as he
tends to do, you know, comes in. But yes, I
want to ski your all around thoughts on how d

(18:43):
w Z d w Z went in this game. You know,
was it an improvement from the you know, from the
from the the past three or four games he's played
so far since he's return from injury.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
I don't know if i'd say it's an improvement, to
be honest.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
So, yeah, he did score that try, and that was
you know, that was sort of shown what he's capable of.
But you know, he kind of got caught a bet out.
I don't like, you know, a couple of those John L.
Johnson's quarter hat trick, you know who he was marking
up against. Admittedly, you know, one of them was a sip,
so you can't really hold that against Gallon too much,

(19:16):
and there wasn't whom it passed it. But the other
two they were back to absolute like magic from latrell
as the past as he was sitting out there. But yeah,
Dylan was just it was a bit off defensively, you know,
like he was a bit probably a bit further than
they need to be.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
And I just gave I mean, Alex Johnson, we.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Know that he's one of the you know, like he's
one of the sick and highest tryscorer of all times.
He just can't be can't be given that guy space,
you know, and it's come from playing outside of sort
of Latreal and Cody Walker as well, but who saw
them playing. But now I'm still not convinced that you know,
he did drotted down peop. Yeah, only eighty eight running

(19:56):
minutes for one hundred from twelve runs.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
You can peer that to the the other two outside.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Backs, Rod Chad about one hundred and seventy I think,
and Chance was three hundred and thirty or something that
he was just Yeah, and so those two were doing
a lot of a lot of that hard work, just
you know, like heading it up from just taking us
through a couple of head ups every set. And Jalen
just I don't know whether he's just the confidence isn't there.

(20:22):
I'm not quite sure what it is. But yeah, I mean,
if there was going to be a new one who's
really their positions, you know, like there's a bit of
doubt over their position, I think he'd probably be one
of them, the or the one that I'd be circling.
And there's obviously a pretty handy back up who's been
he's been filling the role earlier in the season into

(20:42):
a picky who could come in and fill that role.
So I don't think it would happen this week, but
just real wonder to sort of obviously look out for the
next next few weeks. Yeah, what were your thoughts on
Jealoumy think he's getting better or.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah? I mean I thought it was a slight improvement,
but I wouldn't say it's a you know, a big, big,
vast improvement. I think I think he just is his defense.
He needs to work on his defense. And I mean,
I'm gonad, I'm gonna look back at the replace to
be honest, because we all know he comes inside, you know,
comes inside too much, leaving the outside space a little

(21:21):
bit unmarked there. But is he coming in because his
his inside men are going inside as well. Like I
haven't actually really fully looked at it. I just tend
to just look at him and what he's doing. So
got to actually have a proper look at that. But
he's been exposed quite a bit on defense there and
hopefully it's something that you know, that can be tidied
up because they I think most teams know tota to

(21:43):
target our our left well light, you know, his his
police opening on the right there, so to target there
each year. And I think that's something needs to be
tidy up. But you know, I think he's slowly coming, slowly,
slowly coming back into it. But I would say a
little improvement, but not a big vast improvement. But uh,
I'm gonna ask you another question later on. We'll do
one of thems. First, I'm gonna ask you a question

(22:04):
about you know, because this is just for everyone, everyone
who's watching or listening. It's Monday night, so the team
list won't be named until tomorrow. So we'll just have
a quick like, you know, just a couple of minutes
talking about you know, who we think the teams who
should come into the team now, especially with miss Banniered Earl, etcetera.
So we'll go on about in a little bit. But
let's get into your segment.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Mate.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
You can kick us off with your oneleumes you just
let everyone know what the Williams are.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, Welliams are our vision of the Yell EAMs.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
But we are just back it on the last players
and so we'll gi about three two one points every week.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
The current standings.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah, Aaron Clark's up the front with Luk atcaff second,
Hall seem a third and waiting and fourth, but check
some forward tet a couple of the week, so he's
sort of coming out. So Clarks, I'd say, Aaron claps
the favorite of the moment. But you know, anything can
happen in the season, as we see with by making

(23:00):
engine that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
So so it happens. My three for this week just
mentioned him before.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
But I had to give the chance to be honest,
with the three hundred and forty two running meters. It
was twenty eight Garry scored a real tough try, real
pats at him, you know, just burrowing your way through,
and he led the tackle.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Breaks as well with eight. So just yeah, great to see.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
I mean we've both sort of had out questions about
whether he's the number one fall back in the team
or whether he should be should be used elsewhere, but
he's consistently just like you know, putting up really really
good stats, and the work he does running and running
the ball back and those early early tackles for not
not the biggest guy on the field.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
It's just it's great to see.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
So yeah, Shanna had thought he was just he was exceptional,
just a real a real tough game arties. It's my
two obviously scored a couple of tries and one hundred
and seventy three running meters from twenty one runs, and
I think, yeah, well, just like chances was just the
work he was doing relieving some of the pressure earlier

(24:04):
on in the seat, just Gabe, especially with sort of
being down a Ford been down, you know a prop
it did a lot of a lot of work for
the Fords and having chance kind of and the work
that they put in. And no surprise to see Aaron
Clark keep the one as well, just another like pretty
stop staying again from him. But Theodine runs one hundred

(24:27):
and thirty two meters forty h jackals and fifty five minutes.
So he just the stats he puts up and that's
you know, the form of sort of like him.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
I mentioned him before, but the form of him makes
me feel.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Not so concerned about you know, not as concerned maybe
as I would have been last year about much bunet
going down. And you got him just literally doing that
every week, you know, one hundred and forty hundred and
fifty meters forty eight yeah, forty at jackals.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
So do I think he was seking to the take
a count? James Miss Harris was actually.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
First with fifty three, so it's really yeah, good to
see him kind of stepping out once by ant with
Dan as well.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
So but yeah, that's my three two one. How you
got for us? John?

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Oh mate, honestly pretty much exactly the same as yours.
Except for one player, but I wrote down actually five players.
I don't know if you see notes, there five players there.
But I had between Chance, Mouve Metcalf, Jackson, Ford Rts,
and Eeron Clarke. I had. I had those players who
were like my top you know, top five, but obviously

(25:28):
I can only choose three. So my for my three
points I gave to Chance as well, for exactly the
same reasons you mentioned. I just thought, just what a
what a workhorse, right, three hundreds you know, or three
hundred and something meters for the whole game. I know
that by the end of the first half he'd run
one hundred and ninety eight meters. I mean, that's a
sort of Those are the kind of stats that you
get from a from a forward from the entire game over,

(25:51):
you know, over one whole eighty minutes. But he did
that in one half, and it just shows you the
load that he takes off the forwards. Note doing that
gives the forward, gives our forwards a breather, because you know,
forwards they get tired very easily, they get fatigued very easily.
But him doing that along with Roger just just just
gives you know, just gives the forwards just a break

(26:15):
and gives them, gives them a chance just to re
energize quickly to make, you know, to take those hitd
ups because we were out all season. One of those
strengths that the Warriors have had is that they've been
able to go up the field, up the middle, you know,
and make that, you know, make some really really good
meters pretty pretty much every set. And that's on the
back of obviously our forwards, but obviously in the back

(26:35):
of our outside backs doing some work for them as
well to make sure that they've got the jury, you know,
they're they're ready for the forwards going to do that.
So it just shows that what they're doing is working there.
So yeah, definitely. Plus he's scored a try as well.
It's got an awesome try there as well. I saw
some comments on social media saying, oh, it's southsot robbed
seeing kay, how was that a lot of double movement? Well, whoever,

(26:58):
whoever says thinking that for a double movement to happen,
you have to he should be holding the player. He
was free from the player and jumped over, So I
don't know why some you know, Hoover said that obviously
at bandwagoner or someone who's just started watching rugby league
this week. I don't know. But it was a great try,
and yeah, I just thought he thought he did pretty good.
I thought he just had a great, great, great mammoth
effort from C and K two points. Roger two of

(27:21):
us Ship for exactly the same reasons, scored some really
good tries there as well. I took the ball up
a lot and stuff and just again took the pressure
off out forwards, gave him the time to rejuvenate and
get at the ball up there, so arts us as well.
I thought he was really great. I thought he was
really good. It was a tough one for my one
point because, like I said, I had Metcalf Jackson Florida

(27:42):
eron Clarke, but I actually gave it to Metcalf just
because I just thought he had a great game doing
you know, in his attack, scored a great try that
pretty much linked to the field try the pacers there.
I know he was it was a bit off with
this kicking at times, but I just thought, you know,
take away the take away the kicking. I thought he
had a pretty pretty, really pretty good game. So yeah,

(28:03):
Metcalf for one more one point, So yeah, that's my
three two one mate.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yeah, I think I sort of was like a lot
I wanted to get to Metcalf, but there was just
a few parts of his game. You know. There was
obviously then SI and it was some pretty bad sort
of fifth tackle, you know, the plays that it was
a bit of a rocks and diamonds game for him.
But yeah, I mean that tricky score was was brilliant
and pet's what he's capable of, and he then had
a nice trices for Gallon's as well, So yeah, there

(28:33):
was definitely a lot to like around. Also, another great
game from Jackson Ford as well. I'm fifty nine and
that's fifty one forty four post content th sepent tackles.
So yeah, it's just awesome to see with haybrid guyers
who wake in and wake out like Jackson. The Jackson
Ford one still blows my mind, you know, like how
well he's been playing this year.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
So and.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get
you know, rewarded with with the start. Let's wait to be.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Honest, I'm with you there. That's I'm with you there.
So I think that, yeah, he's just it's just slow.
It's like you you don't really knowice him too much,
you know, like because he doesn't do anything flashy. We've
said this so many times. But he's just he just
gets the job done. He just knows his role, he
knows what he has to do and he just goes
and executes it, executes it every time. So you know,

(29:24):
he's just a for me, it's a bit of an
unsung hero at the Warriors. You know, he's just he's
doing he's just doing what he's need to do in Yeah, No, awesome, awesome.
That's why it's really hard to pick the Wiley in
sometimes because Aaron Clark, you know, it's hard to leave
him out because week in week out, he's just doing
his role. He's doing his job, he's doing a great
doing an amazing effident. So had to leave him out.
But yeah, those are my three two ones. And just

(29:46):
for just for the record, everyone, Wiley's this is not
a copy of Sport Nation. I know they've got their
own Wily Ins thing, but they copied us. Well, I
don't know if they copied us or not, because actually
that's I don't know if they copy does but we
headed before them. So just just make you sure that
everyone who's listening or watching this, they're saying, oh, are
they doing the same thing as sport Nation. No, we
had it done. We were doing this before then, well

(30:07):
before then. So I just wanted to get that out.
You can see that, you can hear my voice. That
annoys me. So yes, I just wanted to get that out.
But anyway, we've spoken about the game, mate, and like
I said before, it's not Tuesday, so we don't have
the team list in front of us yet, and I
don't expect too many changes to be made, especially because

(30:28):
I thought, you know, last the game against SLF that
team was pretty stacked and pretty much a close to
full strength team pretty much. But now with Mitch Bonnet,
obviously someone has to come out. So I've said my
ear stuff earlier and I'll repeat that again. But I'll
wait for you. I'll wait till you gone. If you
were to make any changes going on the performance against
self for this game against the Sharks, which is a

(30:49):
big game. It's a big game against the Sharks, who
would you who? What changes would you make to the side?
Sorry said the sneeze there.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yeah, as I said before, I think i'd bring Jackson
ford and to start, and then yeah, probably Tennis du
Smith to the bench with Laban not Laban by my
bat and Halloesema. I mean, you know Corey and Cape.
Well you could bring halles Semen to start and seeking

(31:21):
Row and then putting Correy into the front.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
But I think Halo Seema.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
You know, there's been a few weeks before last week
where he was coming up, he was starting, and he
was playing you know, quite a few minutes, and he
probably just didn't have the same effect I think, And
we saw it yesterday. You know what he what he
is capable of. I thought he had a great game.
It's got a really good try. So yeah, I probably
would prefer to keep him.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
On the bench.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I mean, yeah, you have tomorrow Marlin and that fourteen
jersey as well. Yeah, I mean I don't suspect the bat.
They're being changed in the bat climb. I know Rocko
Berry came off early, but I think that was just
a big old yeah heat caesh. So I suppose I
presume he'll just get that stretched up and providing that's

(32:07):
all good, he'll he'll play. And as I said before,
I think the only one that I would consider I
don't think will happen as as the Dallan thing and
whether they take take drop him and bring to a
bucket in. But I'd be very surprised to see that
happen at the moment, especially with the way this teams.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
And you know, like I mean, Edgewibs is.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
A pretty loyal guy, and he's and he's given a
lot of those chances and we're seeing now it's paying
it's paying.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Off over time, you know. So yeah, that would be
that would be the big, big change for me.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Fair enough, fair enough, Well, as I mentioned earlier, I mean,
this is what I would do. But now that you
mentioned it, you know about the Hall of Sema, Yeah,
you me me onto something there, because I was going
to say, I would put new Code into the front row.
Whether he starts or not, I don't know whether he
goes to the bench or jackson Ford doesn't really matter.
Just I would put him as the front row to
front rower to replace, to replace Miss Barnett. I would

(33:07):
have Hallaesima come into the second row and come into
the second row, and obviously with Halosima coming into the
starting to the second row, Lee's spot open. So probably
I would would be Jacob Blaban to come into the
second row. So that's why I would That's why I
reckon what happened. But it could be Jackson Ford starting

(33:30):
like you said, new cure coming off the bench or
does he just keep a second row spot. I don't know.
And then but the thing is if they go about
it that way, then one of them it would have
to be they would have to replace jackson Ford spot
on the bench, whether with a genuine front row right.
They can't really bring in Jacob Laban to do that.
You need another front rowery And if if they were

(33:51):
going to do that, I would honestly go with Bunty
or Tannas Doogald Smith. So there's there's a few options there.
But I think that the good thing for Andrew says
that the little a lot of depth there. You know,
there's a lot of options there. I just I guess
just you need to figure out which which way you're
gonna go. Will be the first game again, this will
be our first game against the Sharks this season, right.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Yeah, yeah, last was first encounter with last round last year.
You know where we there mess have come back and
sewn Johnson Sean Job's final game was one of the
great ones, so perhaps we get another another.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Right yep, So we've got Adam Vanola Blake reunion happening
hopefully this week in this game. So yeah, there'll there'll
be a big one for for the Warriors. And there's
that's That's how I'd go about it. But you know,
I guess we'll find out tomorrow and night and tomorrow night,
as Richard will do as he always does, we'll come
up with our teamless Tuesday give his opinion on the

(34:50):
on the team this but I don't expecting much much
change except for you know, obviously what we've just been
talking about with someone to replacements by it and how
they go about it. So yeah, that's it. That's it
for for for teamless Tuesday, because we don't have a
team of Tuesday. So anyway, let's I want to ask
you another question in regards to the Warriors, and because

(35:14):
right now we're in around thirteen, so we know we're
getting close to the halfways halfway marc of the season
and we're sitting in third place or you sick and
equal with Raiders. But you know, technically we're third on
the points differential. Well in terms of you know, this
is I'm just putting on the spot here, Mate, A
B C D or if well, you know, for flunking out.

(35:35):
What would you give the Warriors in terms of the
grade in terms of at the halfway marc of the season?

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Mate? A plus?

Speaker 3 (35:44):
But I mean some people might say, oh, you have
to be first to be a plus. But from where
how we were last year for my expectations for us
to be playing, so I have played through all the
injuries have had, you know, like last week was literally
the first game set and we've had no you know,
like a full team to pack from, no injuries and

(36:05):
and and you know either sort of New South well
as cap Or and the sort of first grade team.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
So no, I plased me. I hope they're just they've
been brilliant, showed a.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Lot of resilience, lost a lot of one a lot
of games that you know previously we would have lost.
So as there's a mentality there which is something which
I'd almost have never seen from the I feel like
I've never seen for the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Yeah. Maybe if you that you sort of.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Date back to sort of like the O two team,
you know, you might you might you might be able
to sort of Mexican comparisons there. But just yeah, we're
winning games which we just traditionally would would would would
would blow.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
So a plats for me, how about you?

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Yep, I'll give it an a. I just think that
you know, like I, honestly I wouldn't have picked them
to be running third, sick and equal, if you want
to say their way this at this point of the competition,
but they don't really want. I wouldn't have picked the
Warriors to be so resilient because we just know something
is in you know, yester years the Warriors of old

(37:06):
were just crumble under that pressure. But they've been able
to hold out, you know, these teams and stuff, and
it's been awesome to see. But so I'll give it them.
I'll give them nay. I think that if they continue
to continue there that line their mindset where they wanted
to attack more, which they did you know in this
game in itself, they continue that, then I think that
they'll that that grade will be lifted up higher. But

(37:27):
I think any is still suitable right now, and it
means it's a possible big mess of positive things. So
they're doing They're they're on the right direction. We all
know they're in the right direction right now. I just
want to really keen to see them play against you know,
the whole I really really, I'm really looking forward to
the Warriors playing the Storm again. You know. If I
can't remember if they're in the drawers, that's happening the draw.
But I want to see it again just to just
to see how we go back, you know, how we

(37:49):
go against them after that big loss, because that big loss,
you know, was a big big was a hurting one.
There was only a second loss of the season for us,
I think, second loss of the season, and it put
us you know, in a big you know negative in
terms of points differential, which is why because we're only
on five points. I think I think we running on
five crazy point difference. So we need, yeah, we need
that to climb. We need that to climb. So yeah, okay, mate,

(38:12):
I've got one more question for you just before we
get into tips, so bund it out. He's a co
captain of the side. Do we leave the captaincy solely
with James Fisher Harris to keptain the team solely on
his own, or do we bring in another co captain
And if we bring another co captain. Who would you

(38:33):
have as your co captain or do you just leave
it as James Fisher Harris on his own?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Oh, I just get just leave it Jack.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
There's a lot of much pa but disrespectful and sort
of you know like I feel like behind the scenes
that I feel like, you know, it's still going to
be there.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
He's still going to be involved. Like imagine he's still
going to be you know, like yeah, they'll be using him.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
It's sort of like a you know, and training and
all that sort of thing as an extra sort of
standing board, and so I think his influence will still
be there. And and you know, you look at on
the field, you know, half the time, I think even
I feel like the Warriors were like Fisher Harris was
or maybe it was last week when Capewell was kept
doing and like but White Egan was in charge of

(39:18):
the challenges or something like that. You know, so you know,
like maybe they'll do something like that. I'm kind of
like like kind of beause because Fisher Harris only plays
probably sort of fifty five or sixty minutes, is obviously
going to be a period where I imagine, you know,
White Leagan seems to fill that role in the past,
but obviously now that you know Cap Weell's kept them
last week as well. So but yeah, I just say, yeah,

(39:39):
I wouldn't bother sort of I think, yeah, it's a
pretty sory to do.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Yeah, keep it, keep it one hit them.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Yeah, now you make a good point, mate, Sorry mate,
make maybe a good point mate. I think that I
was actually gonna think, you know, if you're going to
bring a co captain, and it would be obviously Kirk Caate. Well,
but yeah, no, maybe maybe just keeping it with James
Fisher Harris. They've they've got their own leadership group anyway,

(40:14):
you know, they've been a leadership group within that song,
which I'm sure Waiting is involved in that along with
Kirk Kate. Well, it's so maybe that that's all that's needed.
Just leave Fisher Harris for it. And no, I says,
you make a good point that you've sold me on
the whole disrespect thing to much money. So you sold
me on that, so now I'll keep it. I'll keep
it as a James Fisher Harris as captain. So yeah,

(40:34):
that was the last question I want to make. So
it's a bit of a bit of a shorter episode
for us, but I will finish off with tips. Do
you want to take us through the tips made? And
then we'll wrap it up from there.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Sure that matte.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
So first game of the week around the Knights. First,
the Seagles a Newcastle.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Seagles, big big one on the oyke Nd did they
who they play? Did be measuring things?

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Yeah? No, no, no, you're right, I can't remember who
they played, but they did win. They did win.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Yeah, so where are we? Yeah, it's next to Broncos.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
That's right, that's you just you just you love to
say that Broncos are an absolute disarray. And then the
Knights lost to the Dragons, so yeah, I'll check, I'll
check the Seagles.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
Seemingly Knights just look look, I mean they had a
big win that week before, right, and then they just
came out and there I had. Then we both picked
the Dragons to win this game because I think we
just knew that it was going to happen.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
So yeah, yeah, sure, Storm and Cowboys are up next,
the Cowboys. Did you watch the game on? It's a
Tigers absolute eppolite band Stormer. Tigers came flying home, called
about four tries the last ten minutes, but couldn't quite
couldn't quite win, and the Storm sort of wasn't super convincing,

(42:01):
but they got the job down over times. So they'll
be hosting the Hats and the Cowboys. I'm paper take
the Storm. The Cowboys just there bet you know, hord
and cold, so I think they.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Might they might go down this week.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Yep, the same storm.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Dolphins. Dragon's up mixed finds coming off a buyer. I
like the friends there, Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
Hope mm hmm, yeah, yeah, I'm along with you and
they want to Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
I feel like this is about the time the last
few seasons where the Dolphins have slid off, you know,
they've sort of started quite well but then slowly, slowly
slid down the later.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
So we'll see if it happens again this year.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
Shaq's Warriors Nix obviously over in Australia at Shack Park.
Ye Warriors Warriors here. Yeah, I've got a bit of
the Warriors. I'm going a bit the Warriors my scoring year,
maybe an maybe another like thirty sex thirty game because

(43:04):
the Sharks know how to score some points, but they
can also leaked.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Some and yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Yeah Broncos Titans can the Broncos, get one bag.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
I'm actually gonna go with the Titans here. The Broncos
look out of sorts. I think a lot of things
that happening behind the scenes, and there's been there's been
showing through social media and you know, just in the
media in general, just there's at things going on. And
apparently the players are like a bit bit up in
arms with Maguire's coaching style, but you know, like he's
he's he's proven himself. I think the Broncos are the

(43:36):
ones that maybe have to look at themselves in the mirror,
not the not the coach, because they've done this to
the other coach, previous coaches as well.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
So the problem got to stick to the problem is
that they are looking at the players are looking themselves
in the mirror too match and they're also god damn
good looking, you know, repulses get petty care against some
beautiful boys in that team. I think, yeah, maybe they're
just looking at themselves in the mirror a little.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
Bit to I'll go that.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
I'll go that, I'll go the Broncos, I'll go the
hot boys to to make a bounce back Raiders Rebinos.
It's a pretty good game mature and Canberra Raiders got
lucky you know, down I think by about twelve or
four nine points to the quite late in the games
of the Roosters, but they strong, so definitely the Raiders

(44:24):
have got to lend them to sort of you know,
going down earlier doesn't doesn't seem to sort of worry
them too much.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
So and it's in Canberra. It's always hard to playing Cambra.
So I'll go there, I'll go the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
I'll just because I was hoping you d lose to
the Roosters just so we go into the white second.
But they have been so look I think if we
if they lose this one, we'll go into outright seconds.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
So yeah, yeah, well well.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
Yeah, probably went exactly. Yeah, So yeah, that's mean he's
I'll go.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Rebindus Tigers Panthers up next, Penthes. You know they still
have all the origin players Tigers, a lot a lot
going on behind the scenes with the whole Locky Lucky
album such, so.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
Yeah, it is.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
For me, yeah, Sam, Yeah, yeah, speaking of the Bulldogs,
heels up next and there that's where he's going. He's
going to the Bulldogs potentially, like I think he's he
can't be selected this week and up against the Eels,
so with the other team who were quite keen on him,

(45:38):
and yes, I mentioned see sort of. I think this
will be again Bulldogs coming up a buye but they're
still playing pretty good and the Eels they.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Got two points in that teammate. You know, I'm actually
going to take them for an upset. I think they've
got it in them.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
I'm not, but h yeah, I'll go Bulldogs, but I
mean I'm happy to see them go down. And yeah,
I mean Locky Golvin. I mean if he, if he
plays this week, it'd be interesting because you know, he's
coming into a tea they will replacing him with a
player that's been in the side, that's actually been doing
that's been helping with the sides you know, success so far.

(46:22):
So there will be the hard part. You know, if
you're in the Bulldogs side, if you were like part
of the halves combination, they're doing really well and then
all of a sudden you get kicked out for this
guy and he's got Rocky golf. He's got a lot
of stick this week because of their haircut. They're sort
of dumb and dumber haircut. I don't know if you've
seen the picture. Yeah, yeah, got a stick. But as

(46:42):
long as he plays good footy, I mean fair enough.
But yeah, I mean he's got enough money there. Sure
he can find a good barber. But anyway, yeah, I'll
take the bulldogs. I'll take the bulldogs.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Perhaps we'll see how that goes another week. I hadn't
actually carried out last week.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Last week, last week episode that I was at forty seven,
forty four to thirty seven. It's started last week, so
I imagine that I'm still leading by a few points.
So you had a bit of works, Joe. That that's
back John, and start pucking some mom some docts.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
All right, it's happening. It's happening. But anyway, thanks everyone,
Thanks everyone for listening.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Again.

Speaker 1 (47:21):
We all, as always, we thank you for your support.
We're we're really really grateful. We've been seeing the numbers
lift in terms of subscribers, excessa on followers and stuff
on TikTok on YouTube, so that's really great. So if
you're listening to this right now, you're watching, press the
like button, give us a lie, give us a comment,
and give us a subscriber. We're in a follow you know,
we give us a comment, we tend to respond as well.

(47:41):
We try to respond to all the comments as well.
So give us so much your support by doing that
for us, it'll be really really well, we would be
really grateful for that. Also, again, I know I've mentioned
this earlier, but I'll say it one more time, just
to just the prayers and you know, hoping for prayers
are with Mitch Bynett and hoping for a speedy recovery
for him, because yeh, he's gonna be missed. He's gonna
be messed no matter what, despite the fact that we

(48:02):
have the different team, he's gonna be messed. So hopefully,
hopefully he'll be he'll be bouncy back soon and he'll
still be in his prime when he gets back as well.
So other than that, everyone have a good night and afterwise,
everyone up the worst.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
