Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to another episode of Couch Warriors. Now,
we've actually changed our name to Couch Warriors, if you've
noticed that, And the reason why we've done that is
because basically, there's a lot of couch coaches programs out there,
so we just thought we'd try to be differ different
from them for now. But we'll talk about that but
more later. But first of all, my.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Name is John lasar On.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
I'm joined by my co host Richard the band Wagon
conductor Letty Richard. It was a magical weekend of regular league.
It was all round. It was great, especially with the
wires coming up with the w on the day.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Oh what a game it was. Ahead his moments, I
know that you have saw a few of your comments
and you were saying that, yeah, it was closer than
you you would have liked, but hey, win's a win.
The boys are giving up and I've set it a
few times this season. You know, I thought they would
have lost that game last year, so I'm just happy
that they got the two points. Magical round and yeah,
(01:13):
I've already booked my flights to Sydney for the fifth
book end of October because we're going the Grand Final,
baby nice.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So I did say it was a lot bit closer
to it was a lot too close for my liking.
I meant. What I meant by that is is that
we had such a big, big halftime lead. It didn't
expect it to come that close. You know, I mean
I expected them to, you know, to just to keep
keep the machine rolling. But you know what, like you said,
the windsor wins, I'm totally one hundred percent agreeing with
you there. It was just yeah, you know, I mean,
(01:43):
I'm sure it wouldn't have been the only one sitting
on the edge of their seat wondering what was going
to happen when you know, the Cowboys came out and
blitzed us on that you know, on that on that
right on our right edge to score three or four
tries and stuff. So, but there were some horroric moments
in there, especially with Metcard. Metcalf had a blinder of
a game, and not just with his attack, but also
with his defense. You know, saved one try where on
(02:04):
that on that left edge there with a lungy. I
think he I think he's I think he thought he
scored the way he got up and stuff and smiled
and everyone started running to him. I think he thought
he scored so awesome, awesome drop from Metcalf. And I
mentioned in the previous video that I think he's started
to come into his own now where combining the whole,
you know, half back steering the team around the park
(02:25):
and as a natural ability to attack. I think that's
just something to starting to gel now for him. I
think he's been able to do both. And I think
that's what we've mentioned previously, is that we needed him
to do both, and now it's going to happen. I
think he was too focused on one thing and not
and not both. So yeah, that's great. It's great to
see from Metcalf. But Magic Round? How much is how
much of Magic Round did you watch in the end?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I'll probably not as much are what A liked to,
but I don't. Probably four or five games and that
that that That game last night, the Raiders Raiders Storm
game was an absolute barn stormer. You know a few
it was a controversial calls. I think they were probably
the right calls, but there was just it was just
a bizarre finish to the game. And that try from
(03:08):
Coil Weeks was something special, And yeah, my beloved Raider
is getting up again, which is great to see. Great
to see here the Broncos going down. We always love
seeing that at San Corp as well, so it was
brilliant to see. But yeah, I just on the whole,
just a great round. Even with the weather. You know,
it looked like it was pretty atrocious at times, but
the crowds came out and we got some incredible footy.
(03:30):
And yeah, I think i'll I mean, I've got to
mis new during the weekend. John, it sounds like you're
pretty keen to head over next week. It looks like
a hell of a weekend day.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Oh for sure, I think. I mean, I'm not saying
I'm thinking. I'm saying we are going, we have we
are going next year. I think it's pretty to be honest,
it's pretty poor, poor, poor of us that they have
not gone already. So I think it's I think it's
I already told my wife. I've already said to her,
you know, next year this time, you know, we're not
going on any holidays, We're not going any weekends because
I'm going for a week in of magic round. I
(04:01):
said to her, you can come along, but then she
goes away a minute. This is this a Festival of League.
I said pretty much, you can go, you can go
with your mates. Then so she's yes, she wants to.
She's on a bar of it, so I'll be. I
mean we're hitting the next year, so that'll be awesome.
But just just before we continue, mate, magic round. The
game between the Storm and the Raiders. I missed them
(04:21):
most of the game, but when I went to look
at the commerce and see who won, etc. To and
see how it went, all I could see from Melbourne
supporters was we were robbed. We were robbed, we were robbed,
and then you mentioned controversial cause there. So what actually happened?
That's just me I want to know, but maybe anyone
else is listening on to know as well what actually happened?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
So what happened? First there was a so peppin hasn't
got a field goal over? But then there was a
Storm player who, while they were on a tech did
something I can't remember what it was, but dead boy appealently.
So the drop goal was just scantered. I think your
Kyle wakes. Yeah, he scored an absolutely beautiful sort of solo.
(05:02):
Try to make it square. It up with about two
minutes on the clock, I thought, yeah, And then Melbourne's
were charging down. They got themselves about twenty meters out,
just lining up for a penalty, and then they gave
away another penalty while they're on attack. I took Aman
who I think threw an hour only at someone I
(05:23):
couldn't quite forget is that what it was from? And
then there was a bog you know, booth pushing and shoving.
He got sent off and Josh ber Potter got sent
off as well, bubbly and then and then yeah, tis
Lawierro who had given away the original penalty. He he
being he Ben gave away another penalty and the Jamal
(05:44):
Fobberley nailed, as you know, the penalty from twenty meters
out pretty kickable crack. So yeah, it was I like,
as I said, like, I think there was there was
controversy there, but it was probably the right call on
both both sides. But I imagine Bow and me would
have been absolutely you know what, he gets fight so
poor he lost. He lost in the game twice pretty much,
(06:07):
so I'm sure that he would have gone. Yeah, got
a bit of an ear four and the changing rooms,
but it was it was a good game. I mean
about ten minutes into that game, I would have thought
albourn are going to win by fifty, you know that
they just started so well, yeah, that fire logo on
the on the right wing. Gosh, he's a good player,
you know, I think there's only second start for the season.
(06:29):
He just sort of like to a pack when he
gets a shot, he he he makes the most of
it and they need to find a spot for him
because yeah, there's a few clubs that is similar build.
You know, he's not a big guy, but hell of
a player and yeah he's a beautiful try for peppinghouse
and a little run down the side and kicking into
the middle. So but he was a good game.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Two of the best teams in the in the camp
so and there are two teams that we've lost too,
So it was awesome to see. Yeah that that that
that game, the Cowboys game, you know that even was
talking about. You know, those two have been the games
around and so the Aussie media are really starting to
give the Warriors the respect they they deserve and people
like you may have been given them for thirty years. John, Yeah, well.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Do you think that a lot of that's got to
do with Sean Johnson now that he's sort of eases
his way into the Fox League commentary team, and he
seems to be a bit of a favorite there, you know,
not just amongst his the commentators there, but also amongst
just the just the fans. I mean, a lot of
raps about him about his commentary, and he's actually you
know what I mean, I've always is I've always said
this a lot, like I mean, fair enough, if if
(07:32):
someone's good at commentary, like who's someone that's really good,
who's this former sports star that is great at commentary?
For me, the first person that comes up as Ian Smith?
Ian Smith? And yeah, so you know, like because you know,
as we know, most TV production companies will only hire
former players to be the commentators. You know, you really
(07:53):
see someone that's actually studied for this and wants to
be a sport a sporting commentator, you know, or something
like that, and they don't get in because you know,
they don't have the name for it. But on the
occasion you'll get a really good sports star who's actually
really good at what they're doing. I think Seawan Johnson's
in that in that league, in that category, because yeah,
he just thinks he's just naturally is funny, and he
can also give a good analysis as well. So I
(08:15):
think maybe that's the reason why, because I think he's
just winning. He's winning over there, was he fans over there,
Seawan Johnson doing the worries of favor. What do you
what are your thoughts on that?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
It's a particularly for me, to be honest, Yeah, he's
just like it was getting a bit excited, a bit
too emotional, and I don't really want to see my
commentators doing that, you know, I want to see them
just giving some given some good, neutral, neutral kind of
analysis on the game. But nah, I was very jealous
of him, you know, look like he was having a
(08:45):
good time there, and you know, I was quite funny
hearing him sort of he was still saying, you know us,
you know, so he's obviously not far off the not
far out of that team, and even when a few
of the boys are walking away, you know, he was
giving them, giving them fivers and your little hands. So yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think I'd rather just see him kind of a
bit more containing because he actually I think he does
(09:07):
give really good analysis. There's a I mean, there's a
few of them I think Cooper Cronk's really good for it.
He gives great analysis. As soon as they can get
Kevin Roll as a coaching job to be there, because
he is horrendous. Honestly, I don't know if there was
a two or three weeks ago he was commentating the
game and oh, I'm almost did to turn it off,
you know, like it was just he's just not great
(09:29):
at that. So yeah, I think he they did give
him maybe that Perth job of you know, I'm sure
he'll be putting his hand up for it. There's a few. Look,
there's a few few guys have put their hand up
for that coaching role, so he will see what happens there.
But yeah, very jealous of Sean Johnson and and and
she had that to the to the Warrior's crowd. And
also because that was amazing to see them sending that
song afterwards. You would have thought that was it smart?
(09:50):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah. Yeah, No, I actually heard on the commentary that
there was someone I can't remember who said it, but
they were saying that, you know, no matter where you
walking sounds in sun Corp. You know, no matter what
corridor you walk down, there's a there's always that you're
going to see someone with the Warriors jersey on. So
I love how the fact that we're just coming out
in our droves. You know, this is not even our territory.
You know, this is not our territory, sun Corp. It's
Brisbane's territory. It's the Dolphins territory, et cetera, and stuff
(10:16):
like that. But we're you know, we're overriding all the
other fan bases. So it's awesome to see. And next
year we're gonna be doing that, Richard, so it's gonna
be even better. But it was, it was pissing down
and stuff, but it was still a good week school,
still a good week in the regular league. And I mean,
what do you you you hit the Camber Raiders for example,
you know, Spooners this year, look where there are now
(10:37):
sick and equal with us. So yeah, I just thought
I just wanted to mention that, just to rub it in.
But you know that your team anyways, it doesn't really matter. Yeah, yeah, exactly,
it doesn't really matter. It doesn't really make a difference, doesn't.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah exactly. And yeah, as I said before, the weather
looks atrocious, but the teams came out awesome to see
the Raiders. I might articular Raiders Jersey. Now I think
I reckon it's gonna be my ext purchase.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
No, oh, interesting, Well we're it onto the show one time.
But let's get let's get back into the game. Warriors
Cowboys the review. I mean, like, let's talk about the
first half, because it was a game of two halves, right, yep,
you know we'll agree it was a game of two
halves and the Cowboys and no one as a comeback team,
(11:23):
and they did just that in the game. But let's
talk about their first half? What would? What would? What
did you love about their first half? There were so
much things I loved about it, But what did you
love about their first half? In what brought a ball?
You know, brought part on the points for us in
their first half?
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah, I mean I think a lot of it was
on the back of Luke McCarthy. Obviously, you know he's
been a bit reserved. He hasn't quite figured out what
he's doing. He was playing a bit more on the left,
which is obviously where he would deriginally play when he's
playing six, and it looked like he was, yeah, running,
just came to run the ball, so he obviously got
over for those two tries. But part from there, I think, yeah,
(12:01):
they just the boys just they looked they looked the goods.
You know, I think it could have even been more,
you know, like I mean the Cowboys sort of snuck
a snack a few late one of those tries and
pretty late in the and the half. But once again,
the likes of Mire and Clark, you know, we're sending
with praises every week. But he he put another another
huge just and he was just once again doing that
(12:23):
that that we're work in the middle with the likes
of Jackson Ford. I saw some some big players from
Halaesima again. So it's just these names, they're just coming
up every week. But uh, and even with the you
know the late switch with let Tower out, Pompy Pompey
coming in, Cossi coming, Cossy coming into the squad and
(12:44):
going back on the wing. And it wasn't perfect. You know,
there was a few few high balls that were going
in the corners which we were putting down, but we
were the sort of the way that our allies we're
getting a bit of you know, probably some fifty fifty
calls go away and the fist half and maybe those
calls go against us in the second half. But yeah,
I mean I was on the back of sort of
(13:04):
Metcalf really uh and I thought Harris Stavida was was
was great as well. So it's just awesome to see that, Yeah,
that half appearing finally, you know, potentially doing what Angrew
Webbs has seen from them for the for the from
for the whole season. You know, they've still started every
game so far, all eight games. So but yeah, once
(13:26):
the second half came around and and that Cowboy's got
in a roll that it was got a little bit
dicey there. I'm sure we'll touch on that, but yeah,
what were your sort of hot takes from there from
the first half at least?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Well, I mean, what was really refreshing to see was
to see the book the ball go through the hands
and actually sticking, you know, and actually and the set
play being executed. That's why you know, they scored a
lot of their tries on the left edge there through
the hands right you know sort of thing. So it
was it was refreshing to see that, you know, they
were actually doing it and doing it at pace and
instead of just slowing it down. The passes were little
(14:02):
bit you know, wobbly where they'll catch the ball, but
then the defense is already rushed up on them. They
did it to perfection where they were able to get
the ball had the speed was right and created you know,
like confusion of defense. The defense was coming up thinking, okay, wait,
do I need to do I need to tackle Metcalf
right now? Or was he going to pass it out?
So he put them in two minds and then they
(14:23):
just created the gaps for met have to do his thing,
and if he couldn't go through the gap, he passed
it and it still worked that well. So it was
just refreshing to see because I haven't seen it all season.
Like our tries a lot. I mean, look, if you're
a Warriors fan, you have to be honest with yourself.
A lot of the tries have come by chance. There've
been some good tries at the Warriors have scored, but
a lot of this come by chance as well. And
but you see tries being scored, yeah exactly, but they
(14:48):
see the tries being scored on the back of actually
you know some actually some good set plays. Is refreshing.
That was what was refreshing to me. And you know,
seeing the comp the halves combination geling there and like
I said before, Luke Metcalfe's he's an attacking player. That's
just a natural ability. He's just a natural, natural attacking player.
To see that combined with his inability to steer the
(15:10):
team around the park, as I mentioned ten thousand times already,
just that combination right there, was just refreshing to see
because we need we need a seven. You're gonna if
you need if you're want to win a camp, you
need a decent seven. They can do both those things
and he was doing that. And we've mentioned this before
in previous episodes, and now seeing that, seeing him do
that on Saturday, it's just a it's real positive, it's
(15:32):
really positive. So that was what I loved about it.
And then also the defense. We've been really going to
defense this year. It's been a big, big part of
the Warrior season, you know, and helping us get over
the get over the line is our defense, and the
Cowboys are on our line and quite a few times
and we were able to hold them out, which is
really good. You know, in the first half, changed a
bit in the second half, but it didn't help. It
(15:53):
really really didn't help. With Rocker Berry coming off of
their hamstring. You go a feel for him, right, can't
catch a break, You can't.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Get a break. Yeah, he's being very unlucky. Well he's
most probably about six or these five games. Now. I
was also going to say about the first half we
completed at ninety one percent. You know, so when you're
you know, twenty twenty or twenty two sets that we completed,
so you know that that helps, you know, and you
talked about it before, the bullster bulls staying in their hand.
(16:23):
When that, when that sort of thing's happening, it's you
know you're going to you're gonna get that momentum. And
league is such a momentum sport. So if they can
keep that up and we are completing eighty two percent,
I think so, I'm pretty sure we're still number one
in the whole league, which is unheard of for previous
Warriors teams. You know, you used to us dropping the
ball every second or third second or third set. So
(16:46):
they can keep that up, they're going to go a long,
a long, long way. But yeah, yeah, the outside backs
can't catch a break, can they. So it's four of
them out at the moment. I'm not sure on the
position of of Latta and Berry. We're obviously recording on
a Monday, so we're not sure about what the teams
are looked like this week. There is some indication that
(17:06):
I think dw Z could maybe come back this week,
but it sounded like he'd be at least another a
week or two away. So yeah, if those if those
four guys or gosh, it's going to be interesting to
see who they who they bring in their a Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Well, speaking of outside backs, I mean this hasn't been
mentioned much, but Costy for example, let's talk about mid Cossi.
He actually had a pretty good game. He did really
well and he looked he looked really confident. It was
good to see, awesome. It was great to see someone
who's actually been been a bit under fire, you know
of recent times, come out and actually played good game.
It's got a nice try as well. But do you
(17:44):
know that he actually played a lot of that game
with shoulder injury. I didn't know he played the entire
second half of the shot. Yeah, he played the entire
second half of the shoulder injury. And he was praised
by Webster. Webster was saying, you know, like you know,
he praised the selflessness about to go out there and
still you know, in do the job because you know,
we were already down on troops anyway with Rocker out.
So yeah, he played the whole second half with an
(18:06):
injured shoulder. And yeah, so if I mean, if people
didn't know that and he's still got you know, still
heads for it, Costy, he actually you did a great job,
I thought, and at the time I didn't know you
in his shoulder, but yeah, the whole second half injured
shoulder and still did pretty well. Yeah, yeah, yeah he did,
(18:28):
he did. So Yeah, so I just want to give
a good give a shout out to cost you for
for the awesome game he played because and on top
of that, doing it while he was injured. So that
just shows you that the team manna, you know, that
team sort of spirit to go out there and do
that for your team because you know, especially when we're
down with Rocky Barrier out.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
So yeah, I'd say there's a few there's a few
Warriors fans out there that cost a a beer and
I could be one of them, and you could be
one of them as well. For just you know, I
think we're both sort of questioned, you know, has spot
the team because you know, he had a few few
big games we came in, but the last two or
three times he's been given a shot. Yeah, I think
(19:06):
he's been great as well. So yeah, if you get
if I get a chance, if I see this season
or yeah shot yeah shot yeah bro at the at
the local.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Well we'll take him on this just to make sure
he knows. But but no, but yeah, so that was
that was that was really refreshing. But you know what
else was refreshing for me, especially was that the last
tackle plays were a lot better. There were there was
there they were competing with for the ball, and they
were actually you know, they had a plan, no, because
previously sometimes it just doesn't look like they've got a plan.
(19:38):
There's no game plan. It was just basically take a chance,
whereas and they she were had a plan and they
were executing their plans. So that was really refreshing. I
actually spoke, you know, I spoke to I was having
a chat with Charlie Gubb, former Warrior's favorite on the weekend,
and he was just telling me that it was for him.
It was really great to see, because he was saying,
in his words, he was saying that the you know,
(20:01):
the last tackle plays have been it's been quite clunky.
The Warriors attack, you know, especially down the other down
on the opposition's red zone, has been quite clunky.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
You know.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
That's how I've been feeling as well. That's what I've
been saying, you know, in previous episodes that we've been doing.
But he was just saying it was really good to see.
He said, oh, the machine's still rolling, so he's loving it.
He was just telling me he was loving it. It was
really really good to see. So I think, you know,
everyone's on the on that wagon at the moment because
the Warriors are just riding high, you know, third place
right now. It's quite interesting because they're in third place
(20:32):
right now, sick and nical with the Raiders. But if
you look at the top eight the points differential, we're
the only one with a zero. Everyone else has got
a positive points differential. We're on zero. But I mean,
I'll take that. I'll take that because you know, we
were on nigative. We were negative, which is you don't
really you don't really see that for someone that's in
the top four team. You don't really see them on
a negative points differential, but we were, we were, but
(20:54):
now we're on zero and I believe we're gonna it's
gonna go up from here. So it's gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
It's gonna be good show. There was just going to
say about that second half, but I just got a
little bit clunky, I think, and you mentioned it before.
I think, Yeah, that Rock Oberry injury and then Cape
going out there really affected that right edge and that
was where the Cowboys scored what two three of those
triers down that down that edge, and gosh, every time
(21:19):
they went that way later in that game, I was
getting a little bit nervous. But shout out to both
Cape well and to a Picky who did kind of
you know, they brought it back. Both made some pretty
big defensive players in that last or of ten to
fifteen minutes to that one way, to a Picky did
stopping that little cak and then and then he ran
it back up to the halfway line. I think that
was that was potentially one of the biggest players in
(21:41):
the half between that and Metcalf's little near trysaver on
Tod lung ear there. So yeah, it was. There was
some I don't know how you were feeling, but I couldn't.
I couldn't even watch it at some points that that
second half, it was just like every time there was
the Cowboys were spreading the ball left. They were just
and I mean that they're very had a miss team,
(22:01):
but gosh, when they're on, they're they're good. Ay, with
the likes of Tommy dead and and Scott drink Water
in the secular Then I then I sort of looked
back towards his best. You know, he's been a bit
flat this year, but he sort of looked like the
player that was st in play origin put on a
couple of big hats and support a try. So yeah,
it was, it was. It was nervous times, but I
was just stoked that the boys got the win and
(22:24):
we're able to hold on because yeah, as I said before,
I think last year we were yeah, probably lost that
game by teen, you know, teen fifteen twelve points.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, yeah, no, Yeah, It's good to see the resilience
in the side, you know, I mean, they had they
had a they had a lot of space to breathe
in terms of points, you know, from their first half,
and I'm sure that. I'm pretty sure that the words
won't be too happy about their second half, some of
the second half, but they all they were pretty you know,
(22:53):
considering the like again was missing it again, Rockery Berry
being out, it was it was. It wouldn't have been
easy because like you said, they just attack that left
edge there. They attacked the left edge there and they're
left edge and they're just it was. It was just
sometimes it hard to contain when you've got players like
you said, Tommy did and stuff strong drink water. Hard
to contain. But they got through. So I love I
love the resilience of the side of the moment. And
(23:15):
you know, many people are saying that we'll said that,
you know, Warriors of yester year would not have would
not have come back from that. But one question I
wanted to ask you is where do you think everything turned?
Where was the we did the momentum change, because you know,
we were doing so well in the second half starts
and then you know, maybe funny to say this, but
(23:36):
you know, there was a there was a moment where
to lung he caught the ball and it was given
a twenty minute restart. You know, attapped seven seven tackle
set and he didn't actually plant the planter's foot when
he caught the ball. Do you remember that? Do you
remember that moment? So yes, yeah, and it was annoying.
But what was more annoying. Yeah, what was more annoying
(23:58):
about it is that from there, that's when they started
to get a roll on.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Yeah, it was. It was it was the set after.
It wasn't this, It wasn't the immediate said it was
the set after. And I saw a lot of people
sort of making that call and you know, being like
that was a turning important. I was like, now, the
turning point was definitely rocker Berry coming off, and that
was just when they were able to start there and left.
But that it was frustrated Frustralian to say that. I mean,
the roof was right there and it was pretty I
(24:23):
watched her live straight away. I was like, no, that's
no way like that. He he was, you know, his
foot was still on the air when he when he
put that down. So yeah, it's kind of frustrating to
see that stuff, but it was. It was a pretty
well for siated game apart from that, I thought, and
I thought the whole the whole round was pretty well
for Shia. You know, considering what we've seen the last
two weeks, two or three weeks with these sort of
(24:46):
high tackles, I think there was a bit more sort
of sendence to some of the calls. But yeah, I
think that the turning point was the injury and that
that that little induscription was just convenient excuse for Warriors
fans probably, Well, they were.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Clear about it, weren't there. The Cowboys. They're clever. They
they saw that Rocco was out, so they they took
advantage of that, which which any team should do, right,
which any team should do, so they took advantage of it.
But thankfully, like I said, first half, we're able to
get you know, maximum points there to give us just
to give us a bit of a need there just
there breathing space to to do that. But again, go
(25:29):
to just feel feel for Rocker bearing. You know, he's
a great guy of you know, I've spoken to him
a few times before in the past, you know, for
interviews and stuff and things like that, and he's just
a great guy. And I just feel sorry for we're
so young as well. You know, this is something it
kind of feels like, kind of like shame bond, you know,
cricketer type moment where he's just such an immense talent
just keeps getting wasted from injuries, you know, because he
(25:50):
just can't can't he can't get it, can't catch a break,
can't catch a break.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
So yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
I don't know how long he's gone.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
With the way the seasons gone, with a few guys
to come back, you know, it'll be hard to see him,
you know, I certain I said it last week, the
way he's been playing, like he probably hasn't been playing
at his best, and like the reason for that is
that he just hasn't been able to have X amount
of games in a row. So yeah, I think it'll
be hard for him to to to get that starting spot,
which he would have I think he would have had
at the start of the season. Would have been his
(26:20):
jersey to lose. But yeah, eventually, to see what happens
in the next few weeks, so imagine he'll be out
for another week at least.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yep. Well, while we're on that topic, this just this
just come to the next question here because I had
a question here, who come who comes into the team?
I mean, we don't know exactly when dw Z or
Rodgers to come back. It said between week ten and
twelve is what I read. But you know, like in
terms of the back, in terms of the outside backs,
who comes, what happens? Now we know that Rocko is
out and I'm assuming Cossy. Yeah, Cossy is expected to
(26:53):
miss around ten as well, So that's another that's another
there's another blow there because you know who's who's gonna
who's gonna all those games for you? Now that cost
is going to be out and Berries out as well,
and possibly not d w Z being there, and possibly
Roger want being there.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
And I hope we got obviously chance at full back
to a picky on one wing, uh, Graham Telfer maybe
on the other wing, or Morgan Harper there Tower Host
hopefully Beck and then the other Morgan Harper let or
Graham to Alfer can play the other the other one.
(27:31):
But I mean that's pretty much our outside. Beck's completely stretch.
You know, there's no one who else really in the squad.
Maybe cape Pell comes comes back, until you know, we
saw there a few weeks ago. Probably the most likely
thing h is that he'll he'll he'll go out in
place playing the and the centers and then could start
Hala Sema and Corey and and the second row and
(27:51):
maybe gets the four goes back to the front right,
So that yeah, so so chance Chance to a picky, Oh,
it's it's hard to figure out who's so really Yeah,
Latta and capeer on this in the centers and then
on the on the wing, probably either your Graham Telfer
(28:13):
or more than hap I think if ye Roger or
Della man back.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, no, we're we're definitely low on troops at the moment,
and it's just actually hard to figure out who would
go where. I mean I must I mean Chance will
stay there. And like you said to a Picky or
saying one wing, Pompey probably take.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
The other way.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Yeah, Lota would take one center position. So I guess
it's up to someone else to feel that center position,
which is like you see a cape. Well, most likely
I would still keep near cored a prop in the
front row. I'll still keep him in there, and you know,
I would actually get probably take Bunty out and probably
bring in another second rower to come in, maybe the
(28:56):
Jacob Laban for example, someone someone like that to come in.
But uh, one thing we haven't mentioned is that Sam
Healley got you know, got his head his n r
L debut as well with this game, and he was
a late He was a late swap with Tomato Martin.
So I gotta feel another another person. I feel for
Tomado Martin, such an amazing player. Can't kids are breaking
(29:18):
twenty twenty five at the moment. So but I mean,
I feel, I feel, I feel happy for Sam Healey
because I've been wanting to see that for a while
and he he was only on for a short period
of time, but he looked the goods. In that little
short period of time, he looked the goods.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Yep, bro made a couple of big, big tackles, I thought,
and then yeah, sorry, there was a little chip, that
little chip and double chip he did to set up
what would have been an amazing try. But the book,
you know, I think his foot was only just out.
But the fact that you know, I think he played
the last fifteen minutes for the game at Locke as well,
(29:52):
so it's not as not as a position. The fact
that ancient trusted him to be out there at that
time of the game when you know there was so
much on the line. Yeah, And and the fact that Yeah,
he made a number of big players both sides of
the ball. Yeah, definitely, Yeah, imagine that he'll be he'll
be there. There's our last with some of them this season,
(30:15):
and the and the and first grade, that's for sure.
I am.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
It is quite. It's actually quite. Like I've mentioned that,
we've said this before, Like in terms of physique, he's
quite he's quite big for a for a hooker, you know,
I mean as a bit more was tiny, a bit
more stocky ish to the type players. But he's he's
actually quite tall, quite quite big for for a hooker.
But you know, he's slowed them really well. I just thought,
(30:41):
I just think that, you know, that was his debut game,
and for the short amount of time he had, he
showed us what he can do. And I think that's
just going to make a big impression on Webster and
it gives us Webster more headaches, doesn't that? But who
who he who he leaves out and who he brings on,
because I mean Bunty only had a short time on that,
I think. I don't think. I don't think Bunty had
a stunt on the field, But I think if you're
(31:04):
not going to use them, that much, you must well
use someone like a second roller in there. This is
one of my thoughts. I think you've got Mitch Bynette
and your quarter starting, You've got Jack and Jackson Ford
you can stand for a long time. I think you're
set in the four in the front row, to be honest.
So I don't know if I mean, I'm a fan
of Bunty, but I just I just think that I
(31:24):
don't know if bringing them on for like ten to
fifteen minutes is just a waste of an interchange. I
don't know, what do you reckon?
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, Bunty played eleven minutes, I think for two runs
and seventeen seventeen run meters. So yeah, I mean it
seems like a bit of a waste, you know, like
either either use them better than that, or yeah, bring
on another another one of these young guys. Obviously. Yeah,
(31:52):
I think Laban was out with concussion last week concussion protocol.
But yeah, if he's back this week, I wouldn't be
surprised to see him, especially if Capewell plays, Yeah, plays
in the centers like I s speech, he probably will. Yeah,
it would be silly not to sort of bring him
back him by a milego off the bench and just
(32:12):
give you give these young guys as much of a run.
But yeah, the future of the club is looking pretty
good at the moment. Man, you know Metcalf and Shane Harris,
Tavida and the Harps. They've got these these second rollers
coming through and obviously the Harold Matt's boys shout out
to them once a sick in year in a row,
taking out that camp, which is huge. And then you've
(32:33):
got the likes of the new South Wolves Cup you know,
top of table as well. So the club on the
holes in a really really really good good spot. So
Long Long made that last and Long made the boys
make to the Grand Final this year.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah, I mean a question for another day, but you know,
I really just hope they're they're they're doing something to
hold on to the youngsters because they will be as
soon as they're available, clubs will know we'll be jumping
at them. They'll be jumping at them. So I hope,
I hope that if there's a plan in place to
keep them for long term because some of them amazing.
(33:09):
Hell A Seema is amazing, you know, I think I
think he would make any team, to be honest, He'll
be in the seventeen in any team. So yeah, hope
we've got hope, we've on lockdown for the long term.
But anyway, let's just move on from here. Let's go
into the walms. Let's go into your segment, mate, So
who have you got for us here?
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Three days? Yep, I'll start us up. We've got with
three points, so I've gone with your boy. Lookie metcalf.
I think I think he picked up all sorts of
Delian points and deserved two tries one hundred and sixty
four run meters. So great to see him running the ball.
But also that try saber, which he had probably ended
up being after all, that was probably the defining moment
(33:50):
of the game and of his performance. He's done that
a couple of times in the last three weeks, big
sort of diving try savers in the corner, so it's
awesome to see sort of got pet desperation in him
as well. And yeah, I think that was definitely the
best of seen of him in that seven jersey. So
one way, that last two points. I just I think
(34:12):
this guy has been in my in my list about
the last four or five weeks. I reckon Aaron Clarke
just yeah, I'm just amazed at how good of assigning.
I think he's been the best, if not the second
best siling of the year, and the comp just and
the commentators are scene as praises, the fans are signing
as praises. But yeah, another another big game children four
(34:33):
run meters, so top top for the team. I think
he played about sixty eight minutes eighty one post content meters.
So we've talked a lot about those those post content
meters with Edpreneur Blake going. But he's not a big guy,
you know. But he's just a little little barrel, you know,
and he he just every every week putting up huge numbers.
Thirty eight tackles as well on top I think he
(34:54):
was third third on the tackle camp. I mitched Bunnett
and Wadeagan, so he gets my two and one to
my boy another one who's sort of popping up here
a lot as well as look at Halla Sema fifteen
runs four hundred and forty five meters, sixty three post
content meters. Do you five tackles and a couple of
big hits as well, which you know, I feel like
(35:16):
it's maybe the first time we've we've really seen it
from him, But you're laying in the game.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
He was.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
He was putting some some some huge hits in and
legal ones as well, which which helps. But you're forced
a couple of years and oh just yeah, once again,
I love what I'm saying from him. He'd be definitely
in the running for Rookie of the Year and the
compo regain I'll be I'll be shocked and see him
not on the top top plus yea.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yep, yeah, I'm with you on that one. Would he
be up for Rookie of the Year?
Speaker 2 (35:45):
He did?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
He did he play last year? Did he have a
game last year?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
He had a couple. But I'm pretty sure that, yeah,
I'm pretty sure that if you have to have played
like a certain amount of games, I don't think he
would have done done that. Like he we only played
about three or four games the last year. Maybe sure,
I'm pretty sure he'd be out for rock here the year.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Well hope so because he I mean, you wouldn't. I
can't see anyone else already surpassing him at the mote
the way he's playing at the moment. But yeah, funnily enough,
my three one am sorry is exactly the same as yours,
but it's a bit obvious, you know, Like you know,
I think most people would have to have the three
two one in that sort of form, that sort of
order as well. Luke Metcalf speaks to yourself with saying,
(36:29):
as I said mentioned before, just just the way he
asserted himself on the field there, just the way you know,
he attacked and was able to direct the side as
well and execute those set plays him combining with Harris
Deavida as well. It was just it was good to see.
It was really awesome to see because if they can
continue that, if they continue that going forward, it's gonna
it's gonna do more damage. We've we've already we're already
(36:49):
winning games. We're already winning games on the back of
stellar defense and getting some you know, just some grinding,
hard some hard grinds in there. But it's just a
this time just that they were actually attacking and getting
you know, they were just out playing the opposition. So
it was good to see, really good to see. So
that's all on the back of Luke Metcalf's performance here
(37:10):
in the first half as well, and there's defense as well.
Aaron Clark, as you mentioned, just just just gets the
job done. Not a flashy player, you know, it doesn't
do anything, hasn't got you know, he doesn't do anything
like it's just spectacular. He just does does just does
his job. He does his job well. And when you've
got your lot doing their job well, you know you're
(37:32):
setting it up for your teammates to go do the
other stuff as well. So Aaron Clark, he's been amazing,
definitely definitely up there for Signing of the Year and hellosimo,
I mean I can't sing his praises enough right, He's
just so amazing and his ability. He's got pace, he's
got brute's strength, he can attack. And on top of that,
you can see every game he's getting more confident. He's
(37:54):
getting more confident in himself, which is really really dangerous
for our position size, which is great for us. A
confident in hell a Seema is a danger, is a threat,
is a weapon for us because you know, oppositions will
know and they will note that, they will know that,
the opposition will know that, they'll they will have them
on their last list, on their list. Sorry, they'll say, hello, Sema,
you know we're gonna watch, We're gonna watch this guy.
(38:15):
We're going to watch this guy because he can tear
us apart and that's awesome to see and to have
that on our on our side. So yeah, those are
my three two ones as well.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
With hell Aeseema, I feel like every time he gets
the ball, it just looks like something's going to happen,
you know, like and and as you say that, I
feel like, you know, the the opposition are throwing you know,
to three defenders at him because he's just he's making
this post content meters looking for an offload. He's got pace, pace,
got good good ball handling skills, great on d He's
(38:46):
really looked like the full package. So yeah, I've said
it before and say it again. I really hope that
we can hold on to him and not and you know,
I can just see if if he goes to another club,
is it's going to be another Ali Cartel situation.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Yeah, yeah, No, No, you'd think you'd think that he'd
be the number one priority, don't you think in terms
of resigning, you know, keeping him, he'd be one of
the one number one I would I would say he'd
be number one priority, you know, at the moment to
try and keep him long term, So yeah, I reckon
that would be the case. But yeah, three, yep, three
two one. It's the first thing. It's the first time
(39:21):
we've went the same ms for a whole couple of
seasons we've been doing.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
This might have happened one more time, I think, but yeah,
it's it's rare. Yeah, but I think it was, Yeah,
pretty clear. As you said, I think it was pretty
clear those three were the standouts for that band.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Yeah. I mean, I just want to go a quick
shout out to cap Well. I had I was thinking, okay,
will to give one point as well. I think he
was getting a lot of criticism at the start of
the season, but then he moved into center for one
game and people were like, why would you put cap
Well there? But then he stood up and since then
he's just been He's been awesome. He's been great his attacking,
his attack and defense, and there's just a senior leadership there.
(39:58):
It's just just been great. He you can see it.
You can see it when you watch the games. You
can just see what he's doing there, and it's just
the wanted to go shout out to Kurk cap Well.
I'm a big fan of Kate well, and I'm glad
that he's coming into his own again because we all
know what he can do. We all know what he
can do.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
I think you'd be playing for Queensland this year.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
John, I hope so. I hope so. But I'm really
hoping Wade Egan gets the shot at your soth Welles,
I mean, I still think he's done enough to make
the squad at least. I mean I don't. I didn't.
I mean again another video that we did. You know
with this game, there's potentially a trial match for that
hooker spot between the incumbent, which is Reece Robson, and
(40:39):
you've got Wade Egan. Then I thought Wadegan played him.
I'm not saying Reece Roblin didn't do any bad, but
I don't think he was, like, didn't do anything any better.
I think Wading wouldn't have to be up there. But
you know you've got Connor Watson, which we've discussed before
as well. I think he would be more used as
a utility because he can play a lock. I think
he would be He's like, he's like a great utility
(40:59):
player there could be used more in that kind of
role and the other hook that's probably in contention, is
ap be cud of Cell, So I reckon it's between
those three could of Cell, Royce, Robinson and Waiting. I
just hope that we wade Egan gets that shot. That
you know, they'll look at him and don't think place
with the Warriors will go with you know, kind of
that thing. But you know, because much Branditt is there
(41:20):
as well, I reckon Mitch Bandet will still get slickted again.
So I'm just really hoping that they give him. Yeah
I was, I'm really hoping they give him, give him
a shot. I really hope they give Egan a shot
get picked.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Yeah. Yeah, it's hard to know. Like I think, I imagine
they will select Robson and Watson, but maybe that they
could have three halves in there, like you know, you
think I feel like in the past, yeah, and have
have Watson there is more of Utuly, Egan probably didn't
step up as much as you know, we would have liked.
I think, you know, we were talking about that game
(41:56):
has been you know, a big, a big challenge for him,
but he only he ran had three runs for twenty
four meters, so it was a bit very quiet for him,
you know, I mean he's been he's been running for
over one hundred meters most games, so just and the
contentions probably had something to do with that, you know,
like it was obviously it was obviously we're in the
ground and he wasn't able to sort of players that
(42:17):
sort of dice. Yeah, darting runs from from from dummy.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
But if I was, if I was put my money
and on that, I'd probably say no. But I think
I think he should be. But I think they'll probably
go with the incumbent. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Yeah, that's That's what I'm worried about. I'm worried about that,
but I mean, I can't confirm that. Laurie Daily, New
South Wales's coach, has not responded to my message when
I messaged him about you know, is Eagan in contention?
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Is he?
Speaker 1 (42:48):
You know amongst the conversations and you know, I didn't
expect but I didn't actually didn't respect the response. But
still looking at my Instagram right now, I see a
missus through Instagram flipping lossa. Hasn't bloody answered him?
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Mate? What a dog.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
Exactly should be answering these businesses? They're important, they're important,
they're important. So anyway it's good to see. It's good
to see. It's good to see that the engine rolling
a like I said, those are the words that Charlie.
Charlie Gub was saying to me, said, oh mate, it's
just so good to see the engine rolling. Keme going.
So it's f yeah, long mate, last exactly. You know,
(43:26):
we're round nine, We're up, you know, third and there
in the top four. Let it stay that way. We've
got the Dragons coming up this weekend. I think it's
on Saturday, and I think they're playing in Wollongong as well.
I think they're playing at Wongong.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
To be honest, I was hoping to watch the Dragons
game just to get a bit of just to get
a bit of a analysis on, you know what, what
we're up against. But I didn't get to watch it.
I didn't get to watch that game. So did you
get watch the Dragons game?
Speaker 2 (43:57):
I didn't get to watch that, and that was the
late game on My internet actually went down about five
minutes after the Warriors game finished. So fortunately it was
our bill get you know, we get charged every four
weeks or something like that. We shouldn't have been money
in that account at the time, and so I was
frantically trying to get my internet back up, but I
(44:18):
wasn't able to on time. So now I missed the game.
But I'm sure you would have seen the JAD and
Sewer dropped dropped ball over the try line.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Oh I saw. I saw something on social media about it.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Year, so oh my goodness, that's an absolute that's the
fair Buller picked it up and ran the field to
score a try as well. And I think they I
think it was twenty thirty four to twenty eight that
game or something like that, so you know that that
try I would have fut have saved it. So I mean,
they've obviously got some points in this Dragon's team, and
like they've got the players there. You know, they've got Gatho,
(44:51):
these guys, you've got the guys have signed them. They
made some big signings. And you know Sloan down the wing,
he's playing some foot. He got Gatho, the Damion Cook,
you know, Flanning in and the halves. So there's some
there's some talented and the team, but there hasn't fell
homes and centers. It just hasn't quite collected this season.
(45:12):
So hopefully it doesn't quite click. You know, They've had
a few games that looked all right, but it hasn't
shuggled for consistency, and there's there. We are kind of
like a weirdly little bit of a bogie team for us.
We've got a pretty bad record twenty five seven games
played overall and Dragons will lead to head to head
twenty five twelve. So I was quite shocked when I
(45:34):
saw that, especially in Wollongong. We've got a shocking record
over there. There was a there was a stretch of
about I can't how many games. I feel like it
was about ten games in a row where we lost
there and we have. We've lost four of the last
five in Australia to the Dragons and last time we
played in Wollongong we lost duty to twelve. That was
last year. So although on paper, I mean we hit
(45:56):
we came and send the team year as such. But
on paper, I think we should win this game. But
I'm not. Yeah, I'm not sort of thinking that we're
going to run away and said I think it will
be a tight one and it's a little bit of
concern for me just coming into this game.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Yeah, I think you're right. When you say the Dragons
are rid of an inconsistent team, knowing they beat Melbourne
and then you think, oh wow, all of a sudden
they lose to some of the more of the lower teams.
So and yeah, there's been a bit of a rollercoaster
ride for them so far. So who knows what side
is going to turn up on Saturday not to play
against the Warriors. But either way, whether it's the top
(46:33):
side when we know with it, you know, there's the
side that if it's putting on those good performances, or
the side it's not putting on those good performances. Why
that happens. I still think the Warriors can beat them,
and if they can, if the Warriors can consistently put
on the performance like they've done that first half, I
think we should outplay them pretty easily. But again, don't
want to get too far ahead of myself because when
(46:54):
I do, things go bad, things go wrong, especially with
the Warriors. So no, yeah, so it don't have much
more too much more to say about the Driggers games,
to be honest, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Yeah, I was just going to say that you know,
you took about putting on the full performance and it's
it's something we just haven't seen all season in the
last two seasons, you know, that complete eighty minute performance.
You know, the game and against the Cowboys and the
weekend is a good example. You know, we such a
good first half, but then we lost the second half
fourteen tol I think it was basically every other game
(47:28):
this year you think about it. There was just times
where we just you know that Tigers game where we
looked really good at at times and then we're just
we're trying to switch off and I think they scored
about three tries in ten minutes, and so I suppose
what I want to see. Yeah, it's just a bit
more of a complete performance and just even you know,
we can let a few tries and but just we don't.
(47:48):
We can't have these you know, teen to fifteen minute
lapses and concentration where we let in two, three, four
tries in a row. You know the Storm. You know
that Storm game has an example, really bad first time
up and then the second half we we tied on
the screws, but the damage was done. So and and
there's players in the Straggles team that can can really
run away with it. I think, you know, like if
(48:10):
they get on a roll, there's some there's some real
real fire in that back line, So we just have
to be weary of that and hopefully yeah, whoever it
gets packed is able to to to just do their jobs.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Yeah, well said mate. I mean, I think Mitch Barnett,
you know, sort of sort of said in that summarizing
really well when in the press conference on after the
game where he said where we were happy, you know,
pretty much said we're happy we were at, but we
know we near we we know we new where we
know we can be, but they they haven't reached their
full potential. Way they know they can be better. He
was basically saying, we know we can be better, but
(48:45):
we're happy we were at. We're doing you know, we'
getting the wins and stuff, but we know we could
be so much better. So that's that's a good that's
a good sign, you know, to know that we could
be much better, but we're still in the meantime, we're
still getting the wins. That's that's that's awesome to see
because in the previous years, as we know, they wouldn't
be the case, would it. They wouldn't be the case
with it. The only thing that's been the only thing
(49:05):
that's been sort of similar to previous years in these
last few games is that teams have come back, but
then when they come back, they usually win. But this
time we're actually holding them out, which is that which
is really awesome, Which is really awesome to see. If
they're gonna teams come back, at least we've got enough
points deering in the bank to win it in the inn.
So yeah, great stuff to see. But look, I don't
(49:27):
have much Like as I said before, I don't have
much more to say about the Dreams. I didn't watch
the game on their game on the weekend. But well,
once the teams in the name, we can do more
of analysis. Then we can put something up on socials
about that. But so let's just get into tips and
we'll wrap it up from there. How's that sound to you?
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Sounds good, bro? I think you got such last week
and I got five. So you you cut down, you
cut down my deficit by one. I think I'm up
by about I think it's the papers in the office,
but I think it was forty four to forty four
to forty one too. I'm up by three still, and
you got the Panthers and I got the Raiders, so
(50:04):
good for us, you know, picked a couple of underdogs.
So I was impressed with that Eels fins Thursday night
to start us off.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
I'm gonna go to Eels. I didn't think that they
were that they were that bad. Sorry, that bad. I
watched the watch a lot of that game, and you know,
with Mitch Moses, they're combining with Dylan Brown and then
Dylan Walker as well, they look they look at a
different team then the side that you know started the season,
you know, and Dolphins have been praying pretty well as well.
(50:35):
But yeah, I'm gonna give the Eels. I'm give the
Eels the shortest one.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
Yeah, I must of the actually I think at home
as well. The Funds obviously not great away from home.
But just quickly, did you say that that Bally Simonson
try well and the Bally Simonson penalty he got, he
got penalized for tackling little Tallow in the.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Air in the behind them. Yeah, I saw that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Yeah, it's an absolute shock of recall that, you know, like, what, yeah,
what are you? What are you supposed to do? The
Knights Titlands first game on Friday, Knights got their first
one in a while, and Titland's looking like having a
pretty bad time, but we lost to the Bulldogs.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
Yeah, yeah, Nights. I'll give it to the Knights thist one,
just just on the back of their win, on just
the back of their win. I'm not sure Pong is available.
I can't remember if he was injured or not from
that game or not. But yeah, I still give to
the Knights, give the Nights of one. I think Titans
are just don't disarraye Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:36):
Yeah, I go to Titlands. They can't be that bed
that many weeks in a row. Redberts Broncos. You think
the Broncos will bounce back or Redbot's gonna pull an up.
I think Rabbits has still got a heap of guys
out as well, so it might be but hap of them.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
Yeah, I'll go with the Broncos. I think you know,
I think Isram is available this week, and I mean
with with a mad put some men on it. It's
a different story. I mean, yeah, he's he's not a
fan favorite at the moment. They were bullying him when
they put them when he was on screen at Sun Call,
they were bullying him. So it's pretty pretty rough on him,
especially when he's home in his home ground. But yeah,
(52:14):
I still give it the bron because I think they'll
bounce back.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Yeah, I can't really beat the Rabbits. I think the
trial still that Cody Walker's still out, Kim and Murray's
still out, check Whyden's out. Yeah, it's just too many injuries. Yeah,
Game of the Round up next Raiders Bulldogs. Who would
have known that the start of season, that would be
excited for that game. But it can be absolute beauty
and canber as well. I'm going to take my beloved Raiders.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
I'll go with Raiders as well. I think this will
be the first big test for the Bulldogs. I can't
remember exactly every time they've played so far, but I
think that this will be a big test for them.
And and I think the Raiders are riding high on
momentum as well. And there's just shows where they are
on the letter in second place. So think I'll give
(53:00):
it to the readers as well.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
It's always a hard supposed to be the hardest road
trip in the comp as well, going to Canberra.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Yep, it'd be pretty cold down there.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Dragons Dragon's wires are both like the Wires.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
Yep, Yeah, I think I think so.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
Yeah, Cowboys Panthers up next. Obviously the Panthers big one
over the Broncos and Cowboys looking to have been the
lost to the Wires last week. Yeah, I think it's
in towns.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Well, I think I'm going to give Panthers. I think
they're just if you had such a like a lean
pets this year and you know, something that you don't
expect from the Panthers, but when they're on, as we
saw in the Magic Round, they're on, and I think
there might have just been the little spike they needed
just to keep, you know, to keep going. So I'll
(53:50):
give it the Panthers.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
Oh, I'll give the Cowboys some some love at home.
Storm Tigers up next. Can't see the Storm sort of
dropping this one, so I'm happy to beck them.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Yet the same here you find it. You find it
funny how Tylers start playing better when they bring Locky
Golvin back into the side. Yeah. So, I mean, I
don't know that that's that's the reason why they've been winning,
but that's you know, are the coincidence, you know, they
played crack winning he's not there, and then also they
(54:23):
bring him back Bingey brings him back straight away, and then.
Speaker 2 (54:28):
Yeah, he's a decent player. So I hope that they
can just get over the drama and he can have
a couple of good seasons there. I mean, I can't
I can't see him probably playing out in the next
two seasons. But as the final game of the round,
Seagals Sharks. The Seagulls coming off the bye and the
Sharks you gotta win over the Eels. But it wasn't
super convincing. Seagulls has been a hard time to pick
(54:52):
this year, but the Sharks are pretty similarly, being sort
of hot, hot and cold. I'm not going to see
I think most people fat so and they're playing at home, So.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
Yeah, I mean I would not I actually would say
Seagulls as well. But because I think we've picked every
I think so far we've picked every side. We are.
We on the same page here with every other team
on the tips.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
And we've got one game. We were two games. We
were two games. We're picking opposite Cowboys, Panthers and Knights Titlands.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Okay, okay, my bad in that case. Then I'll go
with it. I'll go with the Seagulls. Because I was
going to pick them if we were on the same
page with everything else. But no, I'll go seagulls as well.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
You're got to pick up their deficits somewhere, bro, I.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
Have to do exactly exactly. Well, that's that's for tonight, guys.
Thanks a lot for listening in and tuning in. Just again,
I mentioned at the start, I actually really forgot. That's
why it was a bit all over the place at
the start. But we have changed our name to Couch
Warriors just because of the fact that couch Coaches when
you put into the search engine, it just comes up
(56:03):

a bit confusing to find us, So this will makes
it make it, hopefully will make it a lot easier
to find us. But we're on all the chat What

Speaker 1 (56:34):
