With Mitch Barnett and Luke Metcalf ruled out for the season, many (cough cough Aussie media) are writing the Warriors off for 2025.

on the weekend, there was a bye, so we had
to fill it in somehow, and we're going to talk
about what we think, well what everyone is actually talking
about at the moment. Will the Warriors make the top eight?

Warriors last played about you. But just you know, this

strike for the Warriors. So that's why there's a lot
of talk about the Warriors at the moment about where
they're going to end up, despite the fact they're in
a good spot.

So let's get into it. So, Richard, there are nine

The Warriors are currently in the fourth spot, definitely exceeding
many many expectations. They have a pretty good run draw
home run home draw, sorry, with a majority of the
teams that they're playing below them or outside the top eight,
so it would be fair to think that they are
in a pretty good spot. Right But again, as as

we just alluded to that, the season ending losses of
Mitch Barnett and Luke Metcalf, they're throwing some doubt, especially
amongst Ossie media, that they can that the Warriors can
go all the way. So right now, we're gonna go
through the warriors remaining games, as well as some of

see where we believe the Warriors will end up once

who do you think is gonna win here? Who do

Let's start with the team that we think are gonna win.
The's gonna win the premiership this year. So Warriors, first
game Round nineteen coming up on Sunday versus the Tigers. Look,

this is the only game that we're gonna dive a
little bit deeper into, just because it's the first game
back after after the buye and also because there's a
lot of changes happen here. So first of all, let's
talk about the big change here and the big the big,
the big news of what's happening with when the team

of an agreeance that we thought that Tanner Boy would

more and I was lending more towards tomorrow Martin. It

was probably wasn't more that I thought what was going
to happen. Like I still thought that Tanner Boy was
going to get this get the the but you know,
like I just remember back to last season. I mean,
you know, to my madam was playing playing half back,
and you know, I've said it before, he would looked
like the best best half back in the camp. So
it would have been I would have probably be you know,

I think I would have preferred to see him give
a guy. I feel like he should have got the
first shot. He's been playing first grade and and and
but that has utility factor has probably worked against him here.
And and you know he has the last three or
four weeks we've had backs go down and he's been
able to go back to fall back or he's you
know even played in the sort of centers. One game,

he played in the halfs played. He played three positions
in the Broncos game. So yeah, I mean no, no, no,
knock on ton of Boyd. You know, he's obviously playing
well in New South Wales Cup, but as a as
a step up to first grade, and he hasn't played
all season sort of you know, being at the Titlands
for a few seasons and was sort of touted as

what seemed to be one of the next big things,
you know, like he was almost touted as like the
next Queensland half back when he came onto the scene
and he hasn't quite lived up expectation yet. So hopefully
he can he can yeah, run out, run out there
this weekend and really give it as all and shot,
you know, like bring some of that form from me
South Wile's Cup through the first grade. So like, yeah,

as I said, I'm I'm not surprised, but I probably
would have preferred to see tomorrow man and get this shot.
What were your thoughts on John Well?

Fair enough, bro, But yeah, I I honestly thought that
As much as I love Tomado Martin, I think he's
an amazing player, and previously when he's needed to step
into the seven jersey, he's he's done that, jusy proud
and done really well. I still thought that kind of
void would fill the void of Boid would feel the
void because of his like for likeness, like for like

sort of player that Metcalf was a running, attacking player,
quite fast, long, got.

A long kicking game as well, and I think that's
what God got.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
The he got the nod he headed Tomado Martin in
the end was his superior kicking game. And then you
can't deny that he's got a superior kicking game. He's
got a great kicking game, and like you mentioned, he's
been playing really well and you said I was cup
and I think he just he deserves us his chance,
and I just really hope he takes it with both
hands because we need him to, because you know, Luke

Metcalf out, you know, it leaves a big gap, so
question is can he fill their gap? So we'll wait
to see on Sunday. I'm gonna I'm gonna be at

than he played in the last game. I think he

I suspect cap, but we'll play. But also website does
love those sort of late changes in playing those mind
games a bit, so yeah, it'll be an interesting game.

about what we think, well what everyone is actually talking

they're going to end up, despite the fact they're in
a good spot.

The Warriors are currently in the fourth spot, definitely exceeding
many many expectations. They have a pretty good run draw
home run home draw, sorry, with a majority of the
teams that they're playing below them or outside the top eight,
so it would be fair to think that they are
in a pretty good spot. Right But again, as as

we just alluded to that, the season ending losses of
Mitch Barnett and Luke Metcalf, they're throwing some doubt, especially
amongst Ossie media, that they can that the Warriors can
go all the way. So right now, we're gonna go
through the warriors remaining games, as well as some of
the other teams and particularly in the top six, to
see where we believe the Warriors will end up once

the regular season is over.

Let's start with the team that we think are gonna win.
The's gonna win the premiership this year. So Warriors, first
game Round nineteen coming up on Sunday versus the Tigers. Look,

this is the only game that we're gonna dive a
little bit deeper into, just because it's the first game
back after after the buye and also because there's a
lot of changes happen here. So first of all, let's
talk about the big change here and the big the big,
the big news of what's happening with when the team
came out on you know, yesterday was the injection of.

What were your thoughts did you did you expect that
to happen or were you thinking Tomorrow Martin would get

on our podcast and when we got invited onto the
Inner our fin Nex podcast, it's good to have a
chat chat on there as well, and you know, spend
some time with a fellow Warriors. So we talked about
it and I think we're you know, we were sort
of an agreeance that we thought that Tanner Boy would
But as the week went on, I thought about her
more and I was lending more towards tomorrow Martin. It

was probably wasn't more that I thought what was going
to happen. Like I still thought that Tanner Boy was
going to get this get the the but you know,
like I just remember back to last season. I mean,
you know, to my madam was playing playing half back,
and you know, I've said it before, he would looked
like the best best half back in the camp. So
it would have been I would have probably be you know,

I think I would have preferred to see him give
a guy. I feel like he should have got the
first shot. He's been playing first grade and and and
but that has utility factor has probably worked against him here.
And and you know he has the last three or
four weeks we've had backs go down and he's been
able to go back to fall back or he's you
know even played in the sort of centers. One game,

he played in the halfs played. He played three positions
in the Broncos game. So yeah, I mean no, no, no,
knock on ton of Boyd. You know, he's obviously playing
well in New South Wales Cup, but as a as
a step up to first grade, and he hasn't played
all season sort of you know, being at the Titlands
for a few seasons and was sort of touted as

what seemed to be one of the next big things,
you know, like he was almost touted as like the
next Queensland half back when he came onto the scene
and he hasn't quite lived up expectation yet. So hopefully
he can he can yeah, run out, run out there
this weekend and really give it as all and shot,
you know, like bring some of that form from me
South Wile's Cup through the first grade. So like, yeah,

as I said, I'm I'm not surprised, but I probably
would have preferred to see tomorrow man and get this shot.
What were your thoughts on John Well?

Fair enough, bro, But yeah, I I honestly thought that
As much as I love Tomado Martin, I think he's
an amazing player, and previously when he's needed to step
into the seven jersey, he's he's done that, jusy proud
and done really well. I still thought that kind of
void would fill the void of Boid would feel the
void because of his like for likeness, like for like

sort of player that Metcalf was a running, attacking player,
quite fast, long, got.

A long kicking game as well, and I think that's
what God got.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
The he got the nod he headed Tomado Martin in
the end was his superior kicking game. And then you
can't deny that he's got a superior kicking game. He's
got a great kicking game, and like you mentioned, he's
been playing really well and you said I was cup
and I think he just he deserves us his chance,
and I just really hope he takes it with both
hands because we need him to, because you know, Luke

Metcalf out, you know, it leaves a big gap, so
question is can he fill their gap? So we'll wait
to see on Sunday. I'm gonna I'm gonna be at

come off the bench. He doesn't need to play more
than he played in the last game. I think he

for them as usual, and and Aaron Clark just he'll

seen from him so far, and there's probably three three
games he's played this season. He's obviously you're coming off

the off the bench there, but I think there's probably
the struggle side we could expect. But I'm just yeah,
I've got my questions about what will happen. And with
Cape well, because I think he's not eighteenth many but
he is on the extended beach and in the games
on Sundays, he's got plenty of time to play, time
to recover. Jerome Lay starting for the Tigers, you know,

like plenty of Origin players playing on as well. So yeah,
I suspect cap, but we'll play. But also website does
love those sort of late changes in playing those mind
games a bit, so yeah, it'll be an interesting game.
Bed time to play. The Tigers playing themselves in some
form last week with a good win against the as
the Roosters. It was an exciting game. I think it

was twenty eight thirty or something in the end, so
plenty plenty of tried. So I suspect you know you
talked about the weather before I speak for the weathers
all right. I do expect a few a few points
to be scored in this game, because you know we've
seen from the Warriors in the last few weeks. I
think the tech sort of has looked a little bit
more sharp. Obviously, you know, losing your half back's not
going to help. But hopefully town of Boy can bring

some bring some direction and we can hold off for
this this Tiger's team, and this is a game which
sort of looking looking at the final eight and nine games,
I feel like this one's really one which we need
to win, you know, lost to in a row, and
then we do have some wonnerable games coming up passterwards.

think we've lost our last two at home, potentially to
the Raiders and then to the Panthers. So yeah, they
love that. I'm sure that'll be sort of looking at
this one being like when any yet season back on

believe he deserves to start.

a lot of people are asking, will the Warriors make
the top four? Where they make the top eight. I
still I didn't doubt. I had no doubt that they'll
make the top eight. I have no doubt that they'll
make the top eight. They'll stay within the top eight.
It was whether they could stay in the top four.
That's what I wanted to go through, you know, all
those games. And I know, like I said, I know
there are other teams that you know, come into it
as well, so they could change everything up. And so
(46:44):
these are these are just really really quick predictions everyone
who's listening. But I still believe that if the if
the Warriors go ahead and win the games that we'd
like we've predicted, and the other teams as well go
ahead the way we're predicted, then we should still be
safe in the top four. Because four point buffers really
really handy, isn't it that it's only four points, but
it's quite handy, especially the especially the tight.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
Comp Yeah, and most other teams have used at least
two of their buys, you know, I think the Raiders
and the Titans. Maybe there's another team but for the
down that still have two buyers to go. But you know,
that's that's gearing two four points for them. But every
other teams either use their buyers or only got one left.
So oh, it'll be a stressful couple a couple of

weeks to round them for season. That's for a couple
of months to around the season off. I'm sure, John, Yeah.

Yeah, definitely for sure.

I mean, let's let's just start one game at a time.
The Tigers, let's just win that game in their four
point buffer going. I mean the Broncos, they're kind of
Titlands that were speaking to us. We expected four point
buffer to stay there, but the Titans could do us
a big favor if they do win the game, because
the Broncos are going to buy the following round, so
they're still accumulate points.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
I would, I wouldn't completely just I mean the Titlands
aren't great this season, but they they get up for
games against the Broncos. You know, they've got a really
good record against the Broncos, so there would be one there,
you know, like on paper they should lose, but you know,
and the Broncos, you know, will have you know, four
or five guys who have been playing Origin as well,
so I imagine they're all play I think, look they're
(48:18):
all named and been Hunt returns for the Broncos as well.
But you know, I mean, this can't be anyone can
beat anyone, and we know that, and I'm sure that
the way that we've you know, where we've picked up
with his games and we think, well that's easy to
two points to this team, there will be a couple
of which go the other way. So it's been been
a great season and I'm not speaking another couple of
couple of months of great foot eater to sink tim too.

You know, Origin is going to start strongly, so we'll
