Speaker 1 (00:00):
You probably recalled the dramatic program entitled Lights Out. For
the many of you who are loyal followers of that series,
as well as for those of you who are hearing
these memorable plays for the first time, MVC is presenting
a limited number of fantasies which comprised one category in
the Lights Out repertoire. Willis Cooper, then of NVC Chicago staff,
(00:21):
was the author. And tonight's play is the second in
our cycle of revivals, and so it's Light's Out.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
It is an old saying hours you shall.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Pluck from the grave even one flower.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
And shall afterward cast it away.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Then shall the place where the flower be cast, or
evermore be haunted by the soul of him from whose
grave is the flower plucked. We'd better go now, Adam,
(01:41):
getting darn, I'll go through.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
It isn't good for.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
You, Adam, to stay here by your grave.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
No, Adam, you can't bring a back now, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
But the herd, the leaver her here all along. He
was always afraid of the dark.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
I can't believe us. You must come at him hard,
old man. But time is the great here.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
It doesn't do any good.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Now you've got to live your life at him.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yes, yes, I know, come on now, it ynt just
the moment, hm, and so he.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Way go on. I can't help it.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Uh, we'll walk along a little way at him, you
know that for you down by the star against Oh,
right off, I'll come right away.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
If you don't have to wait long, I'll be right there.
Come I wa wait at him, yes, yes, wait two.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Of course it's hard, isn't it. And I guess there's
a pretty much in the mirror. I've never seen two
people so completely.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Madly in love with each other as those two were.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Now they just too much.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
We don't have to do something with him.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
He can't go on with he started to course somebot.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I'm always so awkward at times like that.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I never know what to say or do you never
do right?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
That we should come along cemetery at night. It is
hardly my idea of those pleasant place to say.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
That's why I.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well, I can't tell with a little the way of
the same circum centers.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
So I guess we can stand it a little while longer.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
What happens should away he can't for him?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Oh this will be all.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Right, I guess.
Speaker 3 (03:35):

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Mbe been down.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Pray.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
I didn't know that Adam was especially religion. He isn't.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
That's probably the first time in his life he's ever praise.
That's there's strange things to us.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Does that? Oh, he's coming up.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I wish we could do something for him. Probably the
best thing we could do is leave him alone.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I don't know Adam loans the movies.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
You can't tell what he do.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Mister Lewis, I wouldn't take a chance.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I'm leaving him alone. Let it alone, and nobody understands
him to mine. Yes, she's coming to my house.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Don't come along, nor mind I will you?
Speaker 1 (04:20):

all night, just just like we used to.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Selly.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I couldn't sleep, Adam.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You got to put this out of your mind.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
I am out of my mind.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Christian, No, I think not. I didn't mean that at him.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
She's gone now. Nothing you can do can change that.
You know, you've got the face that you can't go on.
I never forget her, christ of course not.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
You've got to accept her.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
This is a fact.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Comes to all of 'em. Yes, what's that you're carrying
m what oh uh, I take some roses from the grave.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
So those red oh Eric brunners as the US Christians didn't.
She always loved them better than any other kinds. Yeah,
they're her flowers. She always had a bowl of aric
runners in the living room.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
And they were at the bedside all the time she
was sick.
Speaker 3 (05:21):

started to win her too soon. I don't want it.
I want them older, with her together. Did you throw
that rose away?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
In it?
Speaker 2 (05:53):
If I didn't want it.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
You shouldn't have done that.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I didn't want one rows of all of them to
wither her away and died before the other's time comes.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
No, Adam, But what's the matter, Christian? I nothing? What's
the matter, Adam?
