to their concerns about the mental and physical health of
their CEOs. Welcome back to another Crisis Management Minute. I'm
Edward Siegel, author of Crisis Ahead and The Crisis Casebook.
I'm also a Leadership Strategies senior contributor for Forbes dot Com.

It can be challenging and disheartening for boards to have
to confront CEOs about their mental ability or physical health,
but the failure to act can create a crisis for
the organizations. When boards do act, they should express concern
and empathy for the CEOs and their families. Don't forget
to reassure stakeholders that the organization will continue to operate

with their best interests in mind. And be sure that
there are qualified people who are ready, willing and able
to fill unexpected leadership vacancies. That's it for this edition
