Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, but uh, you.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Know, yeah, there's no way we could cover it, you know,
all in one ago like.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah, So we're uh we're just gonna do it on
a weekly basis. I mean, maybe if we catch up
with our other shows. I don't know, maybe we'll start
blushing out a couple of week episodes a week.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
We'll see what happens. Well, we'll see what uh what
we're up for. But I when I saw that Bruce
Campbell was in it, and when I saw the premise
of the show that was that was enough to get
me on board.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I'm like, oh, yeah, I gotta i gotta check this out.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
But I loved this first episode.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It was really fun.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I said this to my husband. It does feel a
little bit like Peacocks trying to make their own stranger things.
But I do not hate that. I am happy to
have more.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I also think there's a lot more humor in it too.
Yeah no, but uh yeah, I'm just I'm loving it.
I haven't seen past episode one yet either, but I'm
it's really good.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
I'm digging it so to see where it's going. I'm
very very interested to know what was going on.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah, and I love that Anna camp Is is basically
reprising her role as Sarah Neulan from True Blood.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I love Anna camp in everything.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, she's great, but I so we start with the
cold open. Oh, in this first episode, what is called
just it's just called hysteria. We start with the the
cold open, and I love like we kind of see
it this messy yard with all these things strewn about,

(03:13):
and we here Heaven is a place on Earth by
Blinda Carlele playing and I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
We see a bush quail sign.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Tell you know exactly who those people are?

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah, yes, exactly. We see a teen couple making out
and she hears what she thinks is her mom coming home,
and she shoves the boy in the closet and throws
her tape out the window because apparently, you know, Blinda
Carlele satanic.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
The song is about have been being somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, it's you.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Know, I I have.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I've always had one main problem with this song. I mean,
other than hate the song. But they say in Heaven
love comes first?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Do they really? Who says that?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Who's who's saying?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Never heard that either?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Like they're just making stuff up the.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Best you could come up with, really, But.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Someone then starts pounding on her door furiously and they
kick it in and it's it's a guy in a
creepy mask's very creepy.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah. He uh.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
He tries to tie up her wrists, but she like
she bites him and gets away, and and the boy
lunges at the person, but they get away. The masks
dude gets away and we see him outside choking the
girl whose whose name is Faith by the way, we

(04:56):
see him choking her, but we uh, but she must
be alive because like they tossed her in the van
and she's got duct tape over her mouth, so clearly
she's alive.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
They just choked her to unconsciousness.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
And the other there's the other masked person, there's a
second one is dragging the boy away.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
That's the end of the cold open.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
We then see the Happy Hollow water tower as Bob
Seeker is playing I love that the town is called
Happy Hollow.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
It's just a corny name.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
We see various scenes of like just a typical day
in the town, and at the high school, Dylan is
trying to pass out flyers for his band Death Crunch,
but no one's taking them. And Kara Realia, who was

(05:54):
amazing in Cruel Summer. If you guys have watched it,
like jumped, Yeah, basically played like three different characters and one.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
She's good in this too. She hasn't gotten much to
do yet that she has shown in all of our scenes.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Yeah, she's so talented, Like she just has such range
as an actor.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's kind of crazy. But uh.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Her character Jordie tell like they're trying to get people's attention,
and she goes up to one kid. She's like, I'm
having an affair with your dad and he's like, my
dad's dead, asshole. They're they're lamenting, they're you know, they're
kind of lamenting the pathetic nature of their band. And

(06:41):
when suddenly we hear weight by White Lion playing and
he sees this this very this blonde, very like wholesome
looking girl in like just bathed in light, and uh
and the Jordy Jeordie says, oh, Judith alert and Dylan

(07:03):
is just like drawn to her, and he tries to
say hy words like hey Judith, and then like some
jock just shoulder checks him.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
In his class.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
There's Dylan's in class and there's an empty seat and
the teacher gets a call and she's talking to someone
on the phone.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
She's like, I have him marked ups and she's like police.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
And back at Dylan's house, he's playing guitar in the
basement when his mom calls him up for dinner and
the lights are flickering, and we then see them at
dinner and his parents are having some lame conversation about
ordering address, and you know, he rightfully asked to be excused,
because who wants to listen to that crazy? Yeah, his

(07:57):
parents tell him they think he's spending too much time
in the basement. His dad gets up to get more
steak sauce and his mom. His mom tells him that
he said he sounds pretty good down there. They're watching
news after dinner and they see a story on the
kid who's missing, who we now get his name is
Ryan Hudson. And there is a pentac pentacle painted on

(08:22):
his garage. A pentacle, not a pentagram. A pentagram is
what's inside the pentacle.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
If there's a circle, it's a pentacle.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
More.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yes, exactly, I can't remember.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
The circle is supposed to be like, it's supposed to
represent all of the elements together plus the ether. Yeah,
it's I don't know exactly. I could be way off,
but I think I think it's something like that. But

(09:04):
they Yeah, so they're watching the news, and then the
camera starts shaking and like suddenly, the house, the whole
house is bathed in red light and everything starts shaking
in their house, and the news anchor.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Is like, what the hell is that.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
The kids are driving to school and the next day
and talking about the weird events of the night before,
just trying to figure it all out, and Dylan just
like pops up suddenly with a do you.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Think anyone would notice if I went missing?

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Like what?

Speaker 4 (09:41):
And he brings up Brian's disappearance and says that like
him being missing for one day has gotten more attention
than he's gotten his entire life, and they basically just
start talking about how wonderful and perfect Ryan is and
how Dylan's kind of a total.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Looks we uh.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
We cut to Carol's hair salon and this scene was hilarious.
They're they're all talking about the Hudson's and one woman's
like they found blood makes day with the paint that
made the symbol, and one of the stylist mentions her
ex went to a conference on Satanic cult awareness training.

(10:29):
The women are all basically just talking about the satanic
cult epidemic, but Dylan's mom, Linda is a skeptic.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
And the only person right.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
And the woman she's working on says, just because you
can't see something doesn't mean it's there. And for some reason,
Dylan's mom like, it seems like this strikes a nerve
with her and it unsettles her.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
I'm not sure what that was about, but.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
We uh we then see was this woman's was this
character's name? It sounded like Anna Camp's character called her
Kathy Dandridge.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Yeah right, this sounds right to me.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Yeah, she's she's walking into a church and Anna Camp
uh slash Sarah Newlan greets her excitedly, and a much
less blonde Sarah Newlan she uh she brings her over

(11:42):
to sit down with with Abigail, who is.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
What's this actress's name?

Speaker 3 (11:51):
I do not know.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
See her in stuff? Like I know I've seen her
in stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Like she looks Abigail.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah yeah, Abigail.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
All right, so we uh she invites her to sit
down with her now, Abigail, and she shows them a
flyer for Kathy shows them a flyer for mom Mothers
against Accult Media, which is actually ma'am. But you know, yeah,

(12:28):
and it was put up in her bar and she
wasn't happy about it. And Anna Camp's character Tracy, Why
did I say Kathy Dandridge was Anna Camp? Kathy Dannerds
was a woman that walked in. Anna Camp is playing
Tracy white Hat. Sorry, I'm still trying to get all these.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Names right, Dandrew just Bruce Campbell.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Okay, So Kathy is married to Bruce Campbell's character.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
The actress to place Gil's name is Jenny Page.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Jenny Page.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Okay, yeah, I wonder what she's been in before.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Better call Saul.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Oh oh okay, anyway, she uh, Tracy's her name is Tracy?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Right?

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Why can I not get this right?

Speaker 3 (13:27):
They need.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Tray Whitehead. Yes, I have a funny story about that,
actually about the last name Whitehead. So Tracy asks her
who watches her kids when she's gone, And she asks
what her kid's favorite cartoons are, and Kathy says she

(13:51):
her kids enjoy the Smurfs and ThunderCats, and Kathy or
Tracy then gives her a dire warning about how the
Smurfs used black magic to invoke Beelzebub and the ThunderCats
contains obvious demonic themes and best reality.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
That's why listeners are so delicious because of the satanism. Yes, exactly,
just leave them alone.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Yeah, I mean, you know, like, Okay, when I was
a kid, maybe I had a little bit of a
crush online.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
But best reality. Yeah seven.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Yeah, sorry, I was sorry, I was. I was fantasizing
about Sorry.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Every every every person. I'm not gonna say every girl,
damn near every person I have ever met has had
a crush from the Disney Robin Hood fox Man. So
you're just lying.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
You know who My very first crush ever was who?
Gobo Fragle.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
That's a great answer. Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I wanted to marry Gobo Fragle and and then I
and then I quickly moved on to Billy D Williams
the next year.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Oh yeah, Billy Williams. Yeah, the day. Yeah, I told
my mom Billy Culkin, which is a little conventional, and
also Danica mckellor from One.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah, I told my mom that I was that I
was gonna not not marry the lady Williams, but I
was gonna marry Lando.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, I mean would not want to be the lady
of Club City.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, I mean it was smooth.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Okay, I had a crush on the full cast of
Star Wars.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yeah, everybody.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Job of the Hut.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
He looks cozy.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Yoda Yoda smoking man.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
He's got the moves he does.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Do you see the prequels?

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:27):
So what at school?

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Well?

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Yeah, anyway, so Tracy asks her to join them, and
she basically tells them to fuck off, and Tracy does
not look impressed.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Funny story. I'll just interject this really quick.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
About the name Whitehead made me laugh so hard because
it reminded me of the time that like, I was
on I was on the L when I was living
in the city.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I'm in the Chicago area. I was on the L.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I was like on the way home from right I
think I was on the way to meet some friends
to go out or something, and there was this group
of teenage girls, this group of like teenage black girls
that were on the train like right next to me,
and I was like listening to their whole conversation because
they were so fucking hilarious. And this one girl was

(17:20):
talking about how her mom was like her mom was
getting married soon, her mom was getting remarried, and she
was talking about her stepdad.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
And she's like he's so white.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
She was just like going on and on about how
white her, how white her, uh, her soon to be
stepdad was and they're like, what's this last name?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
She's like white head.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
That's pretty white, no getting around that.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
But the delivery, that was everything. It was great. I'm like,
I was trying not to laugh because I didn't want
them to know I was listening to them. I definitely snorted.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
But at school, Judith is asking Dylan if he knows
who kidnapped Ryan because like she thinks he would since
he's some satanic cult number of course. Yeah, and uh
and then uh then you know, Smurf at the Devil

(18:29):
plays as we uh as we get a montage of
him shopping for some cool clothes and like blacknail polish
ye and he makes the he changes their their bands
flyers and like makes the background black and as a
pentacle and and makes a bunch of copies.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
And that scene was so great.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Yeah, that seems standing there waiting for uhaiting for for
Jordian spun And to pick him up for school. And
he's wearing like he's wearing his new clothes and he's
wearing a collar and just like.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Collar yeah, there's a ton of black eyelighter.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Yeah, and they pick him up and then they pick
they pull up, and then the next thing we see
is them in the car.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
They're just like lapping his tir cowling. Yes, yes, it
was hilarious.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Judith comes up to his locker and she notices his
black nails and she asks to see them, and he
tells her that he and his little sister did it together.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
And she tells him that his little.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Sister did a great job, and it's very Tommy Lee
and like, and I'm just thinking, damn, that's that's quite
the compliment. Not that Tommy Lee's and is an upstanding individual,
but oh my, thank god, I had the hots for
him so hard. I was in love with Tommy Lee.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
But he tells her that that she doesn't strike him
as the type to like Motley Crue and and I
was like, this was when she when she like kind
of became my favorite character. And she's like, what she's
like super aupended. She temporarily became my favorite character. Just temporary. Yeah, yeah,

(20:46):
yeah for sure. And she she walks off and he
catches up to her and he hands her his bandfly
er that that also now says Witnesses pure evil, and
she tells him that he'll uh, he'll be at his
show and he uh, but she's also like, witness peerible,

(21:09):
you don't seem like the type, so she gets she
gets back.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
In for that. It's very cute, Yeah it is.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
It's a great little cute interaction situation.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Yeah, yeah, I like it.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
But then he completely freaks out because he realizes that
no one's going to be at their show and and
so uh, like they're all excited when they when they
have one person confirmed, and like I had I laughed
at this because I've been there, man, Like I've I've
been in bands before, and there were a couple of

(21:45):
times that we it literally turned into just band practice.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
That's brutal.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yeah, fortunately not too many times, but you know it's
happened once or twice. But yeah, then Cliff, then, a
kid named Cliff then sees there a jock, he's one
of the jocks. He sees their flyer and gets super

(22:13):
pissed off and and and threatens spud because of like
what happened to his friend and or you know, his
teammate whatever, And Dylan then gets in his face and
tells him that he wouldn't do that if he knew
what he was capable of, which is basically animal sacrifices,
blood drinking, and satanic rituals of course, yeah activities, Yeah, exactly,

(22:42):
And he tells him that he tells him to hit
him as hard as he wants to, and Spud's like,
whoa wait a minute, and but he tells him to,
you know, hit him, hit Dylan. It doesn't it doesn't
matter because it'll pale in comparison to what they're capable of.

(23:04):
The principal then comes along and breaks it up, and
Cliff tells Dylan that he'll be at their show and
he'll see how big and bad they really are. And
he walks off, and then suddenly all of the kids
start picking up the flyers.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
And the We then cut to a bunch of cops
pulling stuff out of the lake.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
And yes, finally, yay the goat.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
The goat is here.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
I love him. He's he's just a god among men.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Scamp.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
He did an interview recently though, that's just like that
just really pissed me off in how like in how
self deprecating.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
It was.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Like, you know, a little self deprecation is okay, but
when you're Bruce Campbell, you don't you don't get to
be that self deprecating.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
I'm not bad about my friend, Bruce, sir.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Yeah, my cat has separation anxiety. Oh got recording like
for an hour or two hours. But now that we're
doing both, he's like, I thought you were done a
freaking out my thing.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
But yeah, So the Bruce Campbell is basically the police
chief and officer A Cave approaches him and tells him
that they got to call at the station from a
doctor whose patient stole a car and escaped, and he
said that the guy was in there for killing his sister,

(24:58):
and Bruce Campbell's ca character was like his name wouldn't
happen to be Loomis, would it? And tells him that
he just described the plot of Halloween.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
And pretty much.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Just calls them them a dumb ass and do you
is this a halfway point?

Speaker 1 (25:18):
A halfway point?

Speaker 3 (25:22):
I have it as him? Uh, Dandruff in the office
is that's what was that? Dandridge in the office?

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Oh yeah, okay, yeah that the.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
There's a quick scene before that of the kids.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Are the kids in the basement practicing and and Dylan
is just basically trying to convince them that they should
be Satanists because they're a heavy metal band, because Satanism
is in its cool.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
So in this cool office, Chief Dandridge has all getting
all of Ryan's class information. He praises Ryan's activities and
asks if he was involved in anything like Bible club
or prayer group. Before the front desk clerk can answer,
she is interrupted by Tracy Whitehead, who says that the
sheriff should know that God is not welcome in our schools,

(26:23):
and he retorts that the school. While the school cannot
teach religion, the students are welcome to start clubs. He
asks her why she's there, and she says she is
dropping off a note for her daughter, who has strep throught.
The sheriff says that he's sorry to hear that, and
as he heads out the door, he turns to missus

(26:44):
Whitehead and says that he will keep his daughter in
her health and his prayers tonight. The front desk attendant
thanks Missus Whitehead from the doctor's note and tells her
that she has a few questions, but Tracy's attention has
been caught by the posters for death crunch.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
The attendant calls out to her, but she ignores her
and stares at the posters in fury. He is not
like that witness of pure evil.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yeah, not at all.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Back at the Campbell House, Linda is washing dishes when
Dylan comes up from behind her and offers to help.
She sort of laughs at this and says, the last
time they were standing at the thing together, he was
probably in it. That's how they never make boys do chores.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah, watching dish was when I was like eight, Yeah, seriously.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Dylan asks his mom if she was popular in high school,
and she says sort of. I was homecoming queen, which
means yes.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
He asks if she had a lot of friends, and
she says that she thought she did, but as she
grew up, people sort of just drifted apart, and there's
a big difference between being seen and being known. Dylan
says that he'd settle for either. His mom kisses him
on the forehead and tells him that he's going to
be just fine, But then she catches the black fingernail

(28:12):
polished and is like, WHOA do not tell your father
about this? Sends him on his way. As Dylan leaves
the kitchen, the flyer for his band's concert falls out
of his back pocket and hits the floor. Linda picks
it up to read it, and she is horrified by
what she sees in a living room. Uh oh, I

(28:38):
wrote his name wrong. It's not Jeff. Is it the dad?

Speaker 1 (28:44):
It is?

Speaker 3 (28:45):
What is?

Speaker 1 (28:46):
What is the name?

Speaker 3 (28:49):
It's something else?

Speaker 1 (28:53):
God, I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, mister Campbell, for simplicity's sake, sitting on the couch
watching TV as Linda enters with large glasses of red wine.
He asked her what he's not supposed to not be
seeing now, and she says nothing. She asked what he's
watching on TV and tells her as a Jerry Nolan

(29:16):
special about Satanists weirdos, the Man on TV introduces his guests,
including a sixteen year old Satanic cult leader who looks
directly into the camera and throws up the horns as
Linda stares intently at the TV. The man, the man
who was you know, the teen Satanist, describes that he

(29:41):
was pulled to Satanism because it was a rejection of
the society that he fells rejected him and as he's speaking,
He slowly turns into the face of Dylan. Linda gast
seeing her child on TV, and her husband is not
seeing this. He's asking her what's wrong with her as
Dylan continues to speak to the TV crowd that he

(30:03):
didn't choose Satan, Satan chose him. Seeing how distress she is,
her husband changes the channel back to a baseball game
and he tells Linda she's okay, but she is just
staring disassociatively at the TV. His name is Jack. I
haven't written.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Okay, gotcha and Jack in this gotcha okay.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Later in her bedroom, Linda is unable to sleep, staring
at the wall. We see a pob of someone walking
down the hallway and opening Linda's door. The doorway is
bathed in red light as it swings open to reveal
the shadowy image of a man. The man pulls a
switch wade out of his pocket and flips it open
as he walks menacingly towards Linda laying in bed. He

(30:49):
raises the knife that attempts to stab Jack. When the
terrified Linda flips over, screaming and turns the light on,
there is no one there. Jack is startled away by
Linda's and asks if she's all right, and after a moment,
she says yes. Then he says, well, I'm not downstairs.

(31:10):
The phone and the kitchen rings and Linda picks it up.
Still in approaches from behind with his guitar in hand.
He quickly shouts that he is going out and to
have a good night, but Linda stops stops him, telling
him that there's a Judas Sanders on the phone for him.
He smiles and turns around to grab it. Taking the
phone from his mom, he says hello to Judith and

(31:32):
she asks him it's okay for her to bring Cliff
and some friends. He's surprised that Cliff is actually going
to go, but he says it's fine and they hang
up and he's smiling in the receiver behind him. His
mom asks that he's making plans with his friends and
he says, yes, he's meeting Geordie. It's sput at the
drive through to see UHF great choice. Yes. His mom

(31:57):
asks why he's bringing his guitar and he says in
case they want to have a jam session. After Linda
says that with everything going on in town right now,
she doesn't want him to go out. He tells her
that he's already made plans and it's a whole thing,
but she says it is not up for debate. He
asks her why, and she pulls the flyer from her

(32:17):
pocket and acts asks if this is where he intends
to go. She tells him that he's rounded for the weekend,
and he protests, but she reminds him that he just
lied to her, she says. She says, that's not the
kind of family that we are, and then, pointing at
the flyer, says, this is not the kind of family
we are. Ever. She puts the flyer down on the

(32:38):
kitchen table and storms off. Dylan stares at it for
a moment and then grabs his guitar and runs outside
to jump on his bike. He rides off into the
night as his mom chases after him on foot. Linda
watches Dylan paddle off with a look of terror crossing
her face. She is freaked out.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
At Spud's house, a ton of teenagers with beers have
arrived and they are all over the lawn. The house
is completely full of kids. Dylan knocks on the door
and Jeordie answers and tells him it's about damn time
that he showed up. She pulls him off to a
side room to help get him ready. He asks if
anyone they know is there, and she says, yeah, Judith

(33:25):
is here. Calm down. She gets him dressed and makes
him promise to be careful with Judith. He asks her
what she means, and she says that he's been upssed
with Judith forever and she didn't know that he existed
until a few days ago, and she doesn't trust her,
and that Dylan has a good heart and she doesn't
want to see him get hurt. Dylan smiles at her

(33:48):
and they seemingly have a bit of a like charged
moment before he agrees that he will be careful with Judith.
She asks what he thinks of their look, and he
tells her he doesn't really get it, and she explained
is that there's a carnival theme. She's the bearded lady,
Spud is the lion teamer, and Dylan is the ringmaster.
He looks very like mcr like like to early adds

(34:12):
Emo more than like eighties. Yeah, I'm still I like
he looks really cute. It's a good look for all
of them.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
He smiles and says that he loves it. As Spud
enters and tells Dylan that again it's about time that
he got there. He's very excited to show him the
shirts that he made, and he pulls them out of
the the death cunt shirts out of the box, but
instead they have instead of a pinnacle, they have a
star of David that it's on fire in the center.

(34:46):
Jordie and Dylan explained this that they basically can be
interpreted as a hate crime, and Spud asks why no
one stopped him. In the garage, the teen are gathered
excitedly around this is the band where the band is
set up, waiting for them to start. The band enters

(35:07):
in their goth best and the crowds part from path
to let them through. They slowly make their way up
on stage and begin the show with Judith and company
in the very front row. Dylan starts his intro with
a demonic voice and then begins to play their set.
The band is very good, yeah and all way good

(35:28):
for a high school band, Yeah, and the all the
teens are really into it, except for Cliff, who is
super angry because he's a bully. He can't enjoy anything.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
By the way, I just have to say that I'm
so glad to see that this band as a female
singer because as a female heavy metal singer myself, like,
I know that it is much easier for us to

(35:59):
say a lot of this ship than it is for guys,
like I'm.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Sorry, it's hell on your voice?

Speaker 1 (36:08):
What's not?

Speaker 3 (36:09):
It isn't either way, it's hell on your voice.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Yeah, well it's I mean, like this this kind of
like stuff like Iron Maiden and SOUF that's like right
in my wheelhouse. But it's you know, because I'm I'm
a belter and I have that kind of you know,
I have that kind of voice. But like, there aren't
a lot of guys that can sing like Bruce, like
Bruce Dickinson. Okay, that's true, like Bruce Dickinson or Robert

(36:37):
Plant or like you're gonna find a lot more women
that can handle that chip strange.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
So it's so much more rare to have women leading
those outfits because you're definitely.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
More need that.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
She's great too, Like yeah, well, I don't know if
he's doing her I'm saying, but it sounds.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Like she has I think, so, yeah, sounds great.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Yeah, everyone's dancing and getting into the set if Cliff
storms off angrily. After the show, there's a huge party
going on at Spud's house. All the gathered teens have stayed.
S Bud see someone bringing a cat to the house
and asks him to take it back outside because he's allergic.

(37:25):
Jordy leans on Dylan's shoulder and tells him that she
thought his idea was dumb originally, but they seem to
have really worked out. He tells her that he couldn't
have done it without her, and she says they probably
could have, but they would have all looked like cute
short and they laugh. As Students finds Dylan in the
crowd and gives him a big hug, telling him how

(37:46):
much the show rocked. She introduces her friends and they
all compliment the band. Cliff is also there, looking very
drunk and angry. Cliff asks why he's never heard about
their band until this week, and yet half of the
graduating classes here. He also says he's heard a different
rumor about Dylan being a Satanist from every single person here,

(38:07):
and that he doesn't believe any of it. Judith and
her friend try to get him to stop, but he
is belligerently drunk. Judith gets very close to Dylan and
suggestively asks if they can go find someplace quiet. They
leave to together as Dylan kind of shoves Cliff out
of the way. Back at the Campbell House, Linda is

(38:29):
showing her husband the flyer and is upset. She says,
she understands that they all go to the mall, so
they can go to the mall and find that symbol
on half a dozen albums, but she's said that it's
happening to her son. She asks her husband if he's
worried that perhaps Dylan fell into something that they didn't notice.

(38:49):
Her husband laughs and it reminds her that Dylan we're
talking about. He asks her where these feelings are coming from,
and Linda asks if she her husband feels like things
are different around here, and he says, well, a boy
did go missing, and they did have an earthquake in Michigan,
which never happens, so yeah, it's been a weird week.

(39:11):
And she says that everything feels different now. She doesn't
know how to describe it, but for the last few
days it feels like the air has gotten tighter and
there's always someone over her shoulder everywhere she goes. Does
he feel that way too? And he just kind of
stares back at his wife, pretty much mystified. Back in
Spug's garage, Dylan and Judas sit on the now empty

(39:34):
stage and Dylan strums his guitar while Judas smiles at him.
See that a million times? Don't be the guitar guy, Dylan.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
She asks him how long he's been playing, and he
says pretty much his whole life. He heard Stairway to
Heaven when he was seven years old and asks for
a guitar for Christmas that year. She asked if his
little sister helped with his stage makeup, and he confesses
that he doesn't actually have a little sister. He made
that up because he's had a crush on her for
a very long time and he was worried the blacknail

(40:11):
poulige would be too big of a swing. She agrees
that not everyone can pull it off, but it looks
great on him. She calls him remarkable and they kiss
and then she bites the shit out of his bottom
lit because her first hit that things are a little off. Yeah,

(40:32):
he looks surprised, but she just smiles at him. Just then,
Cliff enters with Judith's friends and they try to stop
him as he carries in the cap that was brought
into the party earlier and hands it to Dylann pulls
a switch player out of his pocket and demands that
Dylan sacrifices the cat as Satan. He tries to pressure

(40:52):
Dylan into it, and Dylan looks really shocked at first,
but then Judith leans in and tells him to do it.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Being my favorite character, I was so sure that this
actually going to happen.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Yeah, I was too glad he did not do that.
I would not have been okay with that.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
Just the way it was shot was so weird too.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
Her friends look at her friends and Dylan look at
her shocked, but she's very calm and places her hand
on Dylan's thigh, telling him that there's something dark and
beautiful inside of him and she wants to see where
that comes from. Dylan hesitates it first, but then takes
the cat and the knife. He holds the knife to
the cat's throat as it struggles, and Judith just keeps

(41:46):
repeating do it, do it, getting louder and louder.

Speaker 6 (41:50):
Yeah, we're sing is it. Yikes, Yeah, it's intense. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
Dylan finally drops the cat and Judith looks away in disappointment.
Back at the Campbell house, Dylan sneaks past his mom
sleeping on the couch. He is covered in blood. They
flash back to the Spud's garage and Dylan is holding
the knife while pointing at Cliff and Judas's friends. He

(42:23):
tells them that he doesn't want to answer. He doesn't
answer to them, He only answers to Satan. He brings
the knife up to his hand and cuts a deep
splash in his palm, much to judas delight. Back in
the basement, Dylan holds up his hands and expects his
cut palms. He has carved a pinnacle into one hand.

(42:44):
He seems really horrified and upset about what he's done.
He changes his clothes while thinking about his earlier conversation
with Jordi. He remember several other conversations that he's heard
throughout the day. Getting overwhelmed hearing Judith scream do it,
do it, do it over and over, he rips all

(43:04):
his posters down from the wall and smashes his guitar
against his amp. Hearing the commotion, his mom wakes up
on the couch. She sits up, calling out Dylan's name.
Just then the news report plays that the missing student,
Ryan was found dead. Linda is bugging now. The news

(43:26):
report continues that the police believe it was a vicious,
ritualistic murder. The announcer continues that many parents fear that
Satanists have finally come to their small town. Linda gets
up and walks down to the basement stairs, calling after Dylan.
She sees that the basement back door is open and
Dylan is gone. She also sees the destroyed remains of

(43:49):
his guitar and amp and posters, and his bloody clothing
on the ground. She picks it up and is scared.
She begins to cry, just as the lights start flickering overhead.
She has suddenly knocked off her feet. Something invisible grabs
her from behind and drags her up the basement stairs.
As she springs and struggles, holding onto the steps to

(44:11):
prevent her from going up, she is wrenched loose and
flies wildly up the stairs, hitting the wall behind her.
She's mystically lifted up again and flies rapidly at the
front window, crossing her arms in front of herself. To
brace impact, but stops just before she hits the window.
She looks around, terrified and realizes she is floating a

(44:33):
few feet off the ground. A red light floods the
living room as she is held in midair, hands out stretched,
bloodied and unable to fight back. It holds her there
for a moment, and then she gasps as she is
knocked backwards, falling through the glass coffee table. The news
report continues to play on TV that people are terrified

(44:55):
of Satanists. He says that the news is asking many
people do you believe in the devil? Outside, Dylan frantically
rides his bike away from the house. A police officer
comes up from behind him and turns on his siren.
Dylan pulled over, and the officer asks him to put
his hands up. Dylan raises his hands and waits for

(45:16):
the officer to approach, already saying sorry over and over.
Back at the white Headhouse, Tracy is sitting on the
couch reading a book when suddenly there's a knock at
the door. She gets up to investigate, calling out hello.
She opens the door and there is her daughter, Faith,
covered in dirt and crying, you're home. Tracy says in

(45:36):
relief as her daughter collapses into her arms. That is
the end of the first episode.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Yeah. Crazy.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
Also my biggest question, other than whatever's going on with Linda,
what's going on with Tracy because her daughter was abducted
in the beginning of the episode. Yeah, she lies about it,
like she says she has strep throat and then like
it's not surprised that her daughter comes back, like was she?

(46:08):
I feel like she had to be involved with the abduction, right, Like.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
I feel like it could be one of those situations
where like she's she's she's part of this, and she's
playing like, you know, the the Holy like yeah, Tipper
Gore worshiper, Yeah, to uh, not necessarily to throw people

(46:38):
off the scent, but just to kind of like like
glorify what they're doing a little more maybe you know
what I mean, Like they need they need publicity. Basically
she's there, Like that makes sense. Yeah, she's giving them publicity.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
Do you think happened to Linda?

Speaker 1 (46:58):
I don't know, Man's Banana.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Yeah, it's I mean, there's definitely something like supernatural or yeah, yeah,
it's it's freaky. I have no idea, no clue. What
could possibly be going on. But you know, like while
I was watching this, I am like, there's one thing

(47:26):
that I really need to happen in this show, and
I hope it does.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
I need at least one mention of Tipper Gore.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
It'll happen, I hope, So.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
God, I hope.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
So that's funny, Like I mean, Anna Camp is like
basically a Tipper Gore cosplay.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much, it's coming pretty much. Like so
it seems like this is taking place like around nineteen
eighty nine, which.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
You know, I was in grade school at that time.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
I was three.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
Yeah, so like you you wouldn't remember any of this,
but I I actually do, and like I was, you know,
I was in grade school, but I was old enough
to remember this, and like it's just so funny because
it just reminds me of like, yeah, it's like.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
And you know, unfortunately it was. It was in my
family too.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
I mean the all those real ritualistic satanic murderers are
almost always turtles, yes, almost always turtles and bits of
the body people are like devil worshippers. Yeah, the body

(48:57):
in a river full of turtles, They're going to eat it.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
Yes, yeah, for sure. I I suggest I have a
suggestion for our m v P and LVP. I think
we should go with uh Tipper Gore for LVP and
for m v P, I'm thinking maybe Eddie the Iron

(49:26):
Maiden mascot, since, like, you know, since they kind of
closed with yeah the.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Band kind suggestions.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
So yeah, so who who is your Eddie and who's
your Tipper Gore of this episode?

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Tip is going to be Judas Crazy. Yeah, I want
him to kill a cat for you. You haven't even
had your first date yet, right, slow down? H m hmm.
Eddie is going to be JORDI Uh, I mean, I'm

(50:07):
pretty sure it's she's like still in that seems like
to be the undercurrent that they're trying to present here.
But like, what a trooper, what a team player getting
the look together for the band, taking on all this
extra work, and she's so good, like the band is
very good, too good for it to make sense.

Speaker 4 (50:24):
But yeah, yeah, I agree, Yeah, I'm gonna, I'm yeah,
I think uh, I think I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (50:34):
I think you're that's gonna have to be my Tipper
as well.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
But with Eddie, I'm sorry, I'm I'm I'm just I'm
going with Chief Dandridge.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
I just have to. I have to. I mean, I
mean just because he was there, just because.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
He exists, she just seems to show up.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Yeah, yeah, he just Yeah, as long as he's in
the episode, he's gonna he's gonna get the Eddie.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
I feel like he's gonna have a lot more action
coming up, so I'm going to save them for he's
more heavily featured.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Yeah, I hope.

Speaker 4 (51:08):
So I'm still so angry about Ash versus Evil dead Man.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Yeah, such a great show.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
I really.

Speaker 4 (51:18):
I miss I miss Ash Williams and it's sad that
we'll likely never ever see him again.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah, it's got a good little bit of content out
of that.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
Yeah, yeah, for sure, Yeah he did. But uh, first,
Campbell is is just first Campbell is just an absolute gem.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
Like he's just he's so goddamn entertaining.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
It's Yeah, I mean, I'm really excited to see what
this project is going to be like because I feel
like he always picks things that are really fun.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Oh yeah, absolutely he Uh yeah.

Speaker 4 (52:05):
I mean, like, seriously, if you guys have never like
just sat down and watched an interview with Bruce Campbell,
just I could binge Bruce Campbell interviews all day. I mean,
the guy is just so entertaining and likable. And I
actually stumbled into one of his panels by accident one time,
oh at Cargo wizard World, Like I didn't see it

(52:28):
on the schedule for some reason, and like we and
we ended up there by accident, and Bruce Campbell comes out.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
My husband and I are look at Asia are like
what the fuck?

Speaker 4 (52:38):
And and uh, it was hilarious. He was doing like
he was doing like some game show kind of thing,
and he was like going around to the audience and
like asking him like silly questions and making fun of people,
and it was just it was great.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
He was so entertaining.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
It was just an accident. I love that.

Speaker 4 (53:00):
Yeah, I mean, the guy is just like he's just on.
He's like just always on. I just I love him.
I'm sorry. I'm a total Bruce Campbell fan girl. I
almost named uh, I almost named mister Growley.

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Ash but.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
Yeah, but we we were so set on mister Growley that.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
I mean, that's a fantastic thing.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
Yeah, which you know, he should be a mascot for
this show because it's like, I mean, you know, he's
named after he's named after the song mister Crowley like
he should, I mean named after the song which is
about Alister Crowley.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
Mister Crowley is the mascot for the show okay.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
Them at Flaming Star of David T Shirt.

Speaker 4 (53:56):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. You know he's he's a lot
more or like. He's very similar to to Victor I'm from,
but he's he's going to be the Death Crunch mascot.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (54:12):
Yeah, but yeah, have you watched past episode one?

Speaker 3 (54:17):
Not yet?

Speaker 4 (54:19):
I haven't either, and I'm I'm really excited too because
it's I loved the first episode, just absolutely love it.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
I'm trying to get everything watched at least by this
weekend because I have to watch him first before I
can do Yeah, So.

Speaker 4 (54:35):
It would be a lot easier for me to do
that if I could watch them on my Well, now
I can watch them on TV because it's I can
watch well, I can watch Hysteria on TV. I can't
watch Peacocker or the Upcoming it's from on my TV.
I'll show you my tricks tricks Oh nice, awesome?

Speaker 1 (54:55):
Good? I will uh yeah, I will, I will take
it on that.

Speaker 4 (55:00):
Yeah, I just I struggle watching the other watching the
other screeners on my TV.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
It's just like.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
It's if I had a hard time with it, but
I figured it out.

Speaker 4 (55:09):
To where it's not like buffering and stopping and oh, okay,
good because that's my problem.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
So yeah, if I could watch it on TV, I'd
be very happy. But uh so if you.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
Are, just yeah, So as a reminder, we'll be doing this,
and I think we should do this weekly because I
just looked it up and apparently they're going to be
showing it on USA oh on a weekly basis cool.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
So yeah, so we'll just we'll just plan.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
On doing it.

Speaker 4 (55:47):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. The uh yeah, so we'll do this
weekly and hopefully the rest of the season is as
good as better where because yeah, on that first episode,
I mean the cast is so great too.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Yeah, I've got a really stacked cast.

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Everyone is good.

Speaker 1 (56:11):
I love I love the kid to play Dylan, I
absolutely love him.

Speaker 3 (56:14):
I love Julie Bowen too, that plays his mom's.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
Yeah, she's really good.

Speaker 4 (56:22):
As a reminder, we if you're from fan, we are
giving away a cameo with David l Pay who plays Jade.
I'm from so you know, even if you're not a
frum fan. I maybe you're a Vampire Diaries fan or
a Tutors fan or.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
Oh boy, play on the Tutors and you're back.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Yeah, he's been in a lot of stuff, a.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
Much bigger resume than I realized.

Speaker 4 (56:58):
Yeah, but and he does that. He I know he
does Vampire Diaries cons too. Like I haven't seen him
do any other con appearances, but I know he does
Vampire Diaries cons. I've never I've never watched a single
episode of Vampire or The Tutors.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
I've seen a lot of The Tutors. I haven't seen
it all, but I've seen a good bit of it.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Did you did you see Jade playing his violin?

Speaker 3 (57:25):
I don't remember. I mean it would have been a while,
you know, I'm sure he probably would look pretty different.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
Yeah, yeah, I have no idea, no clue.

Speaker 1 (57:39):
But yeah, he's he's just nous and then he's he's.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
And then he's actually done like a bunch of cheesy
Hallmark Christmas movies.

Speaker 3 (57:51):
It's a good way to make money.

Speaker 4 (57:53):
Which I'm just like, it just cracks me up because
you know, I know him as Jade, That's what I
know him as. And I'm just like trying to imagine
him as like as the Romantic lead.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
And last Man in Christmas Town.

Speaker 4 (58:05):
Yeah, I need to watch I hate those movies. I
absolutely hate cheesy Christmas movies. But I kind of need
to watch at least one of his movies just because
I'm curious.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
I'd watch one.

Speaker 4 (58:22):
Yeah, I would watch one exactly. But I think he
was in something like I looked it up. He was
in something called No I can't.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
Even remember now.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
Yeah, yeah you can. Yeah, you can find it if.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
You look it up.

Speaker 3 (58:39):

Speaker 4 (58:45):

are covering Gerald Dixon The Book of Carol teacup from
of course, and that's all we're covering right now, right
mm hmmm.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
We're going to start covering Severance when this is over.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
And oh and of course The Antler Queens which Yellow
Jackets is coming back sometime early next year, and we'll
we're going to start releasing some of some of our
stuff on the audio podcasts that is currently only on
our YouTube channel, like little bits from the after shows

(59:26):
and stuff that we never put on the audio podcasts.
So we're going to start putting out new content on
the audio podcast for that and we'll start working soon
on you know, maybe getting getting an occasional new short
episode up on our YouTube channel.

Speaker 1 (59:47):
That is uh.

Speaker 4 (59:48):
I think that's it for the like all the house
cleaning stuff that we have. If you like our content,
please feel to give us a great grating on iTunes.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
We would love that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
This probably won't be available until like it's the eighteenth
right now. It probably won't be available on Apple Podcasts
until like maybe the twentieth or something, because it takes
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
It takes a little bit to show up. But it'll
be up there.

Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
Share our content, leave a comment that's really helpful for
the algorithm, like subscribe, turn on your notifications, all that
fun stuff. And before next week I'll try to see
if I can come up with some other fun antidotes
from what I remember of the Satanic Panic days. Yes please, yeah,

(01:00:45):
my mom unfortunately was all over that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00:50):

who liked Iron Maiden and Motley Crew.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
There's screenplay in there.

Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
Yeah yeah, sure, I mean, you know, like at least
at least she was okay with me listening to h
to the Go Gos, which Blinda Carlisle is in. I
wasn't really you know, into Blinda Carlisle, but yeah, all right,
